Good morning. Good afternoon. Good evening. Thanks for coming to our something's fishy Twitter space
I'm co-hosting along with the something's fishy artist himself
Stillman visual before we start our talk with Stillman
We'd really appreciate if you could click the blue button in the bottom right corner
Share this space with the tweet let your friends and family know that we're live because this is gonna be a fun one
We'd love to get as many people in here as possible as we explore the depths of
Stillman visuals creative process his backstory
And why he likes fish tanks because I love them too
Stillman visual hello. Welcome to the stage
Hey everyone, how's it going?
Let's just start with that question
Why do you like fish tanks? Why do you like the ocean? Why do you like the sea? Why do you like water so much?
For those that don't know me
My name is Stillman and I'm a full-time 3d artist
So just to answer that question
Since I was a kid, I've always been pretty
interested in nature and inspired by it, but specifically the ocean theme
I think started probably at the beginning of 2020
Everything was like shutting down and you know, there's everyone knows what was going on but
For some reason I just I started getting really into watching these these ocean vacuum Henry's
And I found it like super interesting and also like calming in a way
So I started experimenting with working in that theme
Just little things here and there and then it kind of grew and evolved over time and I fell in love with it more
think during that period it was really a way for me to kind of
Take a step back and dissociate a bit
You know, it's not like any humans live underneath the the ocean
So it was kind of just a different world for me to focus my attention on and found it really beautiful and therapeutic in that way. I
Think James Cameron might have shared that same sentiment with you. He spent like eight years ten years underwater for avatar way of the water
Yeah, it certainly couldn't agree more. I've told this story on a couple of the spaces we've done
But I had the idea for you know doing fish tanks and a tease and we went, you know
You might we went months trying to find the right artist and then we were fortunate enough to have shock of blood
Who we love dearly a great friend of ours recommend the Creator of hoppers recommended Stillman to me
It really changed really what I thought was possible about
fully animated fish tanks
But let's let's go back a little bit
I love your explanation that you know during COVID you wanted to explore a different type of world than our own
But let's let's take a step back
because I think what's truly impressive about any artist or any creative is
That they just decided one day to just take that leap. I
Think it's so tough to start. So how did you start as an artist?
Yeah, so yeah also shut out shock of blood I've met him in person many times great guy so
Yeah, I think so my journey was
I think it's always been a heavy art focus like since I was a kid
Although I gotta admit when I was young I loved to draw even though I wasn't very good at it
I worked in a at an agency in Manhattan for a few years doing that and then
So at some point during that job
I started learning more and more about 3d and I kind of fell in love with it on the side
Mostly the the animation part how you can create your own worlds and there's really an endless amount of possibilities with it
Learning all that and most of my free time
Even on my lunch break at work. I'd be watching like 3d tutorials and trying to figure out how to use the software
there just came a day where you know, the the work started getting noticed a little bit more as to improving and
was getting like people asking about projects that were paid and I
Had to just make a decision if I wanted to take that chance and I knew it was what I was truly passionate about
So I think it's like almost two years ago now I
Put in my resignation letter at my my old design job and they were they were quite surprised. I think I
don't know if they saw it coming or not, but
Took that leap because I feel like you got to take risks for for things that you you love and things that you really want
Luckily, it's paid off. It's been a lot of hard work, but it's one of those things where
The stress is a good stress, you know, you're happy to do it
You're happy to put in those hours to learn and get better and really make something that you can be proud of
So yeah, thankfully we've been doing it for for a while now and loving it
Speaking of stress, I'm sure I've I've added a little bit to that. I'm constantly sharing ideas with you asking hey
There's really nothing Stillman can't do
And then the things that I've mentioned to him that he has done has always exceeded my expectations
So guys if you're listening here for the first time just a quick overview of the project
3d fish tanks by Stillman
And you can see some sneak peeks some trailers that he's curated for us on our Twitter account
Want to before we move forward?
Those nights where you know, you'd be working on a 3d render or something like that and you weren't getting the attention
You weren't getting the people reaching out to you
What was that like where you're like in that no man's land of like you feel like you're starting to do
You're starting to get better with your art, but it's not getting recognized a lot of people get
Lack motivation in that period. How did you keep going?
Yeah, that's a great question actually, um, I
Think if you're if you really love art and your passion about it
Like especially because I got into 3d and just design in general like way before the NFT boom back when people thought digital art
Wasn't real art, you know, it really had a a low respect level in the in the fine art world
I think if you are really an artist and
You're passionate about it that uh, you do it for yourself
like personally I used it as a way to
To vent and express myself even if people weren't really seeing it, you know, you
the journey of like learning through it and looking back on all the pieces you put out and where you were at in your life because
I'm not super open like in a blatant way of expressing like why I made certain things
But each piece does have a personal meaning to me and was a way for me to kind of vent
Where I was at at that time
But I think you go you can't
Relate all your worth as an artist to just numbers on social media or however many people are hitting you up, you know, you have to be
Confident in what you're making and if you're not where you want to be
You know, you got to know that if you put the work in eventually you will get there and it's all part of the process
But uh, I mean you can still doubt your stuff, you know
There's days where I look at things I've made and like wow, I can't believe I did that
I'm so happy with how it came out
And then there's other days where I'll look back at the same the same artwork and be like wow that that's kind of shit
Okay, I know it sounds cliche, but even even you know, some of the biggest artists in the world will have self-doubt sometimes
So that's just part of it
Couldn't agree more with with the sentiment of sometimes you just have to do it for yourself
And because you love it and you have to find beauty in the process
This is cool times and when I started my NFT YouTube channel, I
Was one of the first content creator now. Everyone's a content creator, which is great, but I
You know start off I get you know, I had like 20 subscribers get like, you know
10 views a video but that that one person who would comment and I remember all my early commenters that do cow
Somebody named FIFA fusion like I really latched on to those comments and I was like man
Like I'm doing this for myself and then that one person who's like, hey man, like I'm this is really useful for me, too
finding beauty in the process is
Is a very important thing and that whole journey
What makes you who you are today? And I think the more you go through sometimes the better the outcome is
Let's fast-forward though
You were a part of an exhibition. Tell us a little bit about that NFT NYC exhibition
Yeah, man, that was a that was a super cool opportunity actually
so one of our good friends that we've met through
Like other business partners and then we've we met them at basil a few times as well. She was hosting
It's this gallery and I wouldn't call it a gallery. It's more of a just a space that they host a lot of art events at but
Recruitment for this space that they were having for NFT, New York and I'm talking about Eva
Yeah, I'm talking about Eva. Okay mutual friend by the way. Yeah, cool
Really nice girl named Eva hit us up and it was actually me and my my studio partner slash roommate, but um
something that would be an immersive experience for this space because
for those of you don't know it it's was a
Big kind of open room and they had super high res projectors on every wall and the floor
so it was like a 360 experience kind of like if you've ever
been to like any of Rafik and it dolls
Temperaments and it was a collection of these four different moods or spirits
One of them was definitely the ocean spirit. So we had that exhibition. It was super cool. Super successful
They had a bunch of people come out and it was just really kind of mind-blowing to see the work blowing up that big and
Kind of forgot about the Eva connection so Shaka blood had
Introduced Stillman's artwork to me and then I reached out to Stillman and you know
He's he's a popular guy on Instagram and I'm sure he's not always going through his message request
And so I actually noticed that a high school friend of mine
Was mutual friends with Stillman and I reached out to my high school friend
I didn't even know was working in the digital art space and we all got in like a three-way call
And so the the connections run deep
Leaping off of the the NFT NYC exhibition, I don't know if it was before
At what point did you kind of
was that where is there a specific point in your career so far where you kind of looked around and said like
Wow, like I I might have actually made it
I mean, I'm very grateful for everything that's happened so far. It's it's still wild to think about
I don't want something too cliche and being like oh, I'm I'm not anywhere yet, you know, like I'm not shit
I just have like really big goals, I think and
Something like I try and stay focused on and stay humble, you know
There's always someone doing something crazier than you but yeah
It's really it's really cool to look back and see what's happened so far. I'm very grateful for it
And yeah, Eva's Eva's a sweetheart. She she actually was staying with us in New York
She needed a place to crash like a month ago
The time I'm sorry that the first time I ever drink a four logo was with Eva back in so this it's really strong
That's definitely the the high school drink
Yeah, definitely the Eva I remember she had a
Place on you know, the inner coastal of Fort Lauderdale and that's one of the reasons why I've always loved
Aquatic life is I lived on the water and boated and you know wakeboarding and skimboarding and
Every day after high school. I'd go down to the beach to skimboard with my friends and I just was like man
I I love the sound of waves crashing
I love the the shells that you step on that, you know, it hurts for a second
But then you realize oh, it's just the shell
Cut you off though. What were you gonna say still man?
Nothing nothing too important. I think I was gonna mention that I think one of the crazier parts about why like how I've
Developed such a strong connection to these ocean themes is it's kind of funny because
Like where I came from there it's landlocked like I didn't really experience the ocean too much growing up
So it's kind of funny how that works, you know, I you don't always have to be
This like going in the ocean like you don't have to
Have that naturally as a kid or at any point in your life to really appreciate it and love it. I
Think that's a really important thing because I know a lot of my friends who we grew up in South
they overlook how awesome it is that the beach is right there or that you can go snorkeling or all these different things because it's
just a part of your life and when things are a part of your life you take them for granted and
so I think I you kind of speak for a lot of people who are probably in this Twitter space right now or a lot of
Who are not only landlocked but might be in different parts of the world different countries. We have tons of people in Asia and you know
I know we have people in the Philippines and India and
Germany and I mean, I'd love to see some people just comment where they're from
If you guys just click that blue button the bottom, right? I'd love to hear where you guys are from
Because we want to bring the beauty of the ocean
To wherever you live inside your crypto wallet
Still man, I'm gonna ask you to kind of we're gonna we're gonna like we're gonna do like some Monday morning quarterbacking here
We're gonna break down some game tape. Okay, so
If you see we have a pinch read at the top
It's it's the tank this it's a preview of the tank with the whale and some penguins
If you remember you, you know creating this tank kind of you want to kind of like break down what went into creating something like this
kind of came with its its own
Like struggles and like technical hurdles
Kind of wild to see it develop over over time with each each rendition of
The different creatures and everything, you know, they could kind of build on itself over time for this specific one though
This one was actually a struggle to to get to a point. I was happy with it
I knew I wanted to do a tank with a whale
It started out like how do you get a you know a
Whale to swim and look believable in a tank when it's it's such a large creature and usually, you know
And then I started doing a bunch of research on like the different types of whales
For those who don't know I watch a lot of visual documentation on the actual like real-life creatures to see how they behave and whatnot
Okay. Wow, like they're I think they're so interesting because they're very playful, but they're also really deadly and
Predatorial so I put one of those in and started, you know rigging them up texturing him
When I got to the point I was happy with it, it's like it's missing something like some sort of
Relationship that you might see in the wild if you're lucky enough and
Then I thought of penguins. I was really kind of obsessed with them as like a small child just funny
But yeah, I really wanted to make a tank that kind of showed this circle of life happening
And like a give-and-take relationship and really happy with how it came out
Guys if you're a little lost and we're talking about our pin tweak here, it's a
Preview of one of our tanks. It's a whale with the penguins
Some of the things that I think you guys should look out for that kind of blow me away
When you when you see the penguins in a whale circle around you can actually see their reflection against the glass of the tank
That little detail of the reflection is
Spellbinding to me. It's incredible. I also just love the movement of the penguins
Flapping along is is really neat and
That goes for for pretty much all of the tanks. There are these little nuances
stare at these things for for
Now Stillman we really haven't even shown off any of the tanks at all. I mean we've done some some
Some previews here and there. Is there a tank and it might be like the one you're you know
You've most recently worked on what is there a tank that sticks out to you that really kind of has that like you have
Yeah, that's kind of it's tough man, it's like yeah, I guess I just asked you what's your favorite child. Yeah, I
We have ended up making a couple more that
Been working pretty hard on just because yeah, dude. Let's let's change the question
Let's you are working on a couple more tanks right now. Talk about yeah, talk a little bit about those
Let's do we can do a little leaking right now
yeah, based on a demand and just kind of reading through the comments when
Kyle tweeted out, you know asking people what kind of creatures would they want to see in their tanks?
We thought it would be cool to do do some more based on that feedback just trying to
Be as versatile and dynamic as possible with giving a tank to each kind of personality
So I was actually up till
More dirty last night, I think
Really honing in on the details and finalizing one of them
We're super excited about these
think there's a little bit more of a
Like a pop culture reference in one of them
And then another one is a creature that I developed like years ago
And I've used it a lot through my work. You probably know what it is. It has eight legs or eight arms tentacles
And I'm really excited about that one as well. So what I think is really fun about a lot of these is
throwing in these references to real world
Whether that be, you know music or
movies or whatnot, I think when the collection isn't released there'll be moments where
People kind of like oh is that is that like a reference to this and it's it's really exciting to see
to answer your actual question though my favorite tank I
Don't I don't know if it's like dependent on the mood, you know, because
They're all so different and their lighting and
Subject matter that it really depends how I'm feeling that day which one I gravitate towards
I really like the angler tank just because it's so creepy and and
Different from a lot of the other ones
This octopus tank I'm developing right now is is definitely one I'm pretty proud of
But yeah, you might have to ask me that again once we once we roll out and I can see them all
together in their in their glory
We actually I got together with a couple friends this past weekend and threw the tanks up on
Which you had actually, you know
implored me to do months ago, we you know, we tested out all the tanks and
The angler one was beautiful the cyberpunk kind of futuristic tank was just glistening. I mean that thing was like
sparkling off of the screen
So that one I know is gonna be a fucking hit with people. Yeah, that one came out really well
Just to get a sense of everyone like I'm just gonna read off where everyone's from here
We got some great responses. We have we have people from Nigeria. These are just the responses people the UK
We have somebody from Oklahoma. We have somebody from Newport Beach, California. So you're pretty familiar with the water. We got
Bay Area, Canada, North Carolina
Jupiter, Florida, Puerto Rico, Brazil, Nigeria again. We have a lot of Nigeria Nigerian fans
Which is really cool to see
Let's let's leak a different type of alpha right now cuz I
Think everyone loves Stillman's work. I think that's just like unanimously agreed on
and I don't even know the answer to this but still man
Do you have like one of one pieces like what if someone was like I want to collect some more Stillman art
Maybe even before this thing drops in a couple weeks
You have any stuff on you have any super rare stuff? Where do people collect your art?
I should have mentioned this when I first hopped on but yeah all the support everyone's shown recently is
Really appreciate it. It's wild to see and I'm so happy all really gravitate towards what I'm creating
But yeah, so I was selling for a while on a maker's place when I started my my empty journey at the beginning of
I met some really cool collectors through that but I think that was like so fresh in
This movement not not everyone really knew what was going on. So it was it was very overwhelming and
there came a point where I
Found myself like going through these mental like battles
Trying to keep up with everything going on
so I did take a I took a step back for a little while and just kind of focused on creating and
Getting back to to my roots of why I was you know doing this in the first place
Haven't even told anyone this which is kind of I don't know some people may be like, what the hell
But I am onboarded on super rare
But I have not minted on there yet because I've been
developing a new style that I want to roll out on
There I think I still have a piece available on on makers place. I know like that platform
Personally, I don't like how it changed like it's not it's not somewhere I want to be minting too much anymore
but I do have a piece on there that was exhibited in
Berlin which is super cool
It's also nature-themed like most of my work. But uh, yeah the super rare
Genesis piece I'm gonna be really excited for I've just been waiting for the what feels like the right time to roll it out
when I'm happy with the work and
Will wait with a high level of anticipation
For that new style because if you're not already following still men visual on Instagram
you're robbing your eyes of
truly some great aesthetics
He's got a big following on Instagram and just go go and look at some of the pieces on Instagram
It's they're beautiful there and and you can really see the progression of his work
So whatever you're developing for your next style, I'm sure we'll be kind of groundbreaking
Wanted to read out we had a bunch of more people just when I started reading off where everyone's from
We had a bunch of more people just comment
We got people from the Louisiana Los Angeles, Germany, Portland, Oregon, Germany again
Argentina, Mexico, that's great. Oh, it's Nigeria again
I'm telling you someone is in Milan, Italy. They just commented that three seconds ago
If I haven't said it to you before privately, I'd like to say it publicly
There is no something's fishy. There is no project without stillman
a force of you know of nature when it comes to
One of the things we really want to do with this project is be very artist forward
Make sure that stillman receives all his flowers that he deserves one thing that's really not sitting with me the right way
We added over a thousand followers just yesterday alone
I went on like five Twitter spaces. There's a big thread written by Bonglow who's a big influencer in the space about the project
If you could give stillman a follow on Twitter right now if you're not already following him, can you guys give him a follow?
He deserves more followers if we could get a thousand yesterday
We don't have to guess up my account, bro. I
Appreciate it. If you're if you like the work
Feel free to but no pressure either way
Wait, right. We're gonna wrap up here soon. But one other thing I did want to touch on
Is something that I've kind of echoed in a few other Twitter spaces, which is my understanding as like an outsider
Obviously, you're much much of an insider as an artist
but as an outsider when I first got introduced to NFTs and
Digital art in early 2021
It was you know NBA top shot and I was like, okay
I get that this is what a non fungible token is like I I get this highlight. It's this living breathing, you know
Moving work of art, which is like an NBA highlight and I was like, okay cool
And then I saw you know people sold a thousand days for 69 million. I'm like, okay cool
I get it. It's like, you know, there's like this, you know, a
Animation of like a baby or Donald Trump and like a diaper and he's like running through a desert. I'm like, okay, I get it
my understanding of digital art and NFTs has actually like
Regressed and that we're so static and we're so focused on profile pictures Stillman
understanding of the the medium of NFTs and digital art in you know in this day and age
When I first heard about them and started learning, you know exactly what what they all entail
Because to be like completely transparent. I was I wasn't one of those guys back in 2016 that
Knew what crypto was or how it worked or anything, you know, I'm one of the
relatively new learners of this entire space but uh
To me like I was a little bit confused as to why everyone else was confused
Mostly that you know the general public sentiment towards it when it first kind of came out and became like a worldwide phenomenon
because personally, I just thought it was
the way to bridge the gap between the fine art world and the digital art world and
What I mean by that is it's just a way to own digital
Art or digital goods like no different from an auction in real life
That's that's kind of was my sentiment for a while
Obviously, it's developed into all these different avenues that it's it's kind of crazy to think about and keep up with
But I just look at it as a way to
To support and also purchase and trade
Artworks or like any kind of digital collectible, whatever it would be and I think those are different categories as well
You know a one-of-one artwork or an open edition artwork
Like I would say digital art and collectibles are in different categories to me
But yeah, I don't want to I don't want to ramble on too much maybe I didn't answer the question, right? Yeah. Yeah, exactly
one more question and then you know
For the maybe the two or three nerds in the back of this Twitter space
is I think someone asked me this recently and I was just like
if you don't have to answer this you don't like to but
Like, you know, what what programs do you use or you know, what?
How do you how do you cook up these tanks? Like what were the ingredients for this?
So if there's any other 3d artists or people interested out there I use cinema 4d and
Optane render, that's what I've always used from when I first started learning
There's other great tools and mediums out there as well
This wasn't really part of your question
But it's something I want to touch on so a lot of people will hit me up and you know
ask what what program I work in and
they think that that is the
the way to get to like a high quality of work and
All the programs are just tools like blenders amazing too and it's free
I've seen I have some friends who create absolutely not like I think it's miles above my work in 3ds max
Which is more of a studio
But um, yeah, I use cinema and octane and then there's a suite of other like helper programs as well like daz
Substance painter, it's all kind of technical 3d programs and then I use the the full Adobe suite as well
So Photoshop illustrator After Effects
It's kind of just you know, you bounce back and forth between these programs as you're working. It's quite fun actually
Sometimes great when it doesn't crash
Know this has been I know you've been painstakingly working on on these tanks and juggling other projects to your very busy guy
We're gonna I'm gonna take some questions. We have some people up here. If you want a request to come up
Right now is not taking any questions. I
Mean if you want to ask them, what is well you want to ask them in what your favorite color is we could do that
But no, let's let's no hard-hitting questions about I don't know. But anyone wants to come up here
Yeah, let's see. I know Kiwi's gonna have a good question. She came up in our recent space
Hey, what's up again? I think this yesterday's please cuz I took a nap but um, I didn't want to ask
What is I don't know cuz I'm still like new here
So like how many tanks are there going to be?
13 tanks were planning on there are 11 that are finished
just because he's seen a reaction and and everybody now pouring of support has decided to roll up his sleeves and
Forgo sleep to make some more tanks for you guys
But they're gonna be very unique
Different style tanks and as still I mentioned earlier
It's really gonna depend on your personality on which one you will end up gravitating to
so I think we're definitely gonna be able to
Have a style and a vibe that that matches everybody else
We have a couple other people were adding on to the stage
Put your hands up so I can go kind of in an order here, but feel free. So, okay t-zone. What's up?
It was going on guy. I joined a little bit late here
So I apologize if you've already talked about this stillman, but I was wondering how long you've been creating art
So yeah, I touched on it a little bit. Um, I
Was I was kind of one of those creative kids when I was younger
Draw in class like in math class specifically
But I wasn't like too good at it and then I went to
University to study graphic design. I wasn't really sure what direction I wanted to take that but I knew
You know in my my naive mind, I was like, oh, this is the this is the only way, you know
You can be creating and make money
Just as a hobby on the side
I kind of saw little tidbits of it here and there and then I got really interested in that and started putting pretty much all
my free time into learning that
That software and that that mindset on my own and I just loved how
You could just world-build and really the the possibilities of it versus, you know
2d design were endless to me, but I've been doing 3d for about four years and then full-time for about two and
Then yeah, does that answer your question? Yes, I appreciate it
Good good question coming from our guy T zone who is rocking the iconic
Diver created by Stillman Blake you have your hand up
Yes, hi, I was wondering how much the fish tank would cost when that would be my question. Thank you
Yeah, that's a great question
It's something we haven't announced yet
We are definitely planning on making it affordable for
You know this quality of art
However, one of the reasons why we haven't specifically announced a price yet
Is if you've been following the crypto market, it has been a bit
in the past week or two, and so we're going to
Adjust that to you know that the current market when we mint
We definitely want to make this
affordable and accessible for everybody
Great, thank you very much
Hey, how's it going? Thanks for having me on
Been a big follower since the beginning when you actually first mentioned this on your your YouTube channel. I
Thank you guys for what you're doing on this
I got a three-year-old and eight-year-old we have a coral tank and it's become sort of our great
You know, it's not really my kids have been asking for their own and it's not really sustainable with all the
Just everything that goes into it making our own water the sand the third
What you've done here with this this what you're calling this ecosystem you've created is
Sustainable way that you know since I've showed them this they've been asking well, can we get one in our room?
Can we get one in our room? And now this is something that
You know could potentially be achievable for them
Well, you know whether I'm the open market or however, you know this project unfolds and I just just want to thank you guys for for
Some of the possibilities you've opened up with with this project
Yeah, I think I'm in lockstep with still men in that we really appreciate that and we know that your kids are going to love
Whatever tank or whichever tanks, you know
Yeah, you meant I know you are on the white list. So
Not three years old, but I also have trouble maintaining
you know a fish tank for me is so peaceful and calming and the source of
You know just a centering in my life
but I don't have the time as you know, I'm constantly doing Twitter spaces or content or
Just life and errands and it's very tough to upkeep a fish tank
And so that was one of the core things which made me want to reach out to still men
and and and you know try to execute a vision together and
I think this is something that
You know will love I think it's something your grandma and grandpa will love and be kind of taking it back
Oh my gosh, this is incredible. This it's gonna seem so futuristic
And I always imagined that the bachelorette
You know the woman who just got out of college who now got her own place and she wants a nice centerpiece
For when she you know invites friends over to have mimosas or the bachelor who you know is a gamer and just wants to
Have a cool fish tank display in the background. Well, he's you know playing cod with the boys
So every type of person is gonna be catered to no, but especially your three-year-old. I think it's gonna be a static
Anna you have your hand up
Anna yes, yes, I'm here. So
Good evening from the site. Um, I have three questions actually on the first one being
Still man, how long did you walk on the ad or how long do you plan to walk on the ad for something fishy?
about on that I'm wondering if a disco to be available after the means or before the means and
Finally, I'm wondering if white sports are still available
That's my question or questions
So, you know one of your first question was about you know, how long still men will be involved with this
Of course, you know, he can jump in if you'd like to but for for my POV
We want to be in great standing with still men for as long as possible
He is kind of the the backbone of this ecosystem
We've we've talked very informally about
Future collaborations and other things we could do he's a very busy guy
so we will be working with some other artists, but I think everything kind of goes back to still men and
We've built up a solid relationship and he sees, you know, how much people love his artwork through this mint and
There will be a lot of more stuff for us to do together. I think still men would echo that
Yeah, go ahead. Absolutely
I worked on the collection for I don't when did you hit me up? I don't
Yeah, maybe like April and then it started right away because you were very busy and so we didn't start right away
But we talked about it. I mean, you know nine months ago and you know, it's
So it's it's been it's been a little bit we've been talking about this thing and it's finally coming to fruition
It's been it's been a lot of work over
Some months harder than others, you know
It's also kind of you're at the mercy of when inspiration hits
So there was there was some like weeks and months where it was just constant like grinding and going through iterations
Figuring out what doesn't work what works?
But yeah, no great relationship with everyone on the team so far. So
Thank you. Thank you, Anna
Key phrase so far we'll see what happens with anything can happen right still man
Okay, you know you had a couple other questions that I can answer in a second is discord
No, no plans of a discord right now
One a discord is an echo chamber and while it is great for pinging announcements
we would love to to you know, have our video our voice chats be on Twitter and be as public and
for not only our holders but for a public audience and
Create that kind of community that people see on Twitter and say I'd like to be a part of that
Discord as somebody who's who's been in this space now for like two years
also a great place to get a scam and
Sent fishing links pun intended
So we don't have any plans for a discord yet for the something's fishing project
But in the future, we might have I can't say too much
But there might be discords not for something fishy but for other products services and collaborations we launch
And then let's see. What was your third question?
Discord Oh white list white. Yeah white list is allow list is still open
You know gonna be completely transparent with you guys just like our fish tanks
We're really seeking great collectors and people who you know, genuinely want a digital fish tank
You know, so we're just we're looking for great collectors and early supporters
Anna if you're not already on the white list, we really appreciate dialogue. We really appreciate questions comments concerns
I know at least for myself that
I'm always gonna be here Stillman is you know, he's he's a back-end guy. He's he's the the genius
I'm just the the big pretty face in the front. So I'm always gonna be here to answer questions
We appreciate that dialogue. So if you could DM us right now your wallet address, we'd love to have you on
On board with us. So if you could send your aetherium address, we'd love to have you involved
Let's go to we're gonna wrap up here in like seven minutes, but glitch brand go ahead
So firstly, I just wanted to say
Well done for bringing the community together without the discord through these AMAs and tweets and none of that stuff
Well done to Stillman for doing such an amazing job with the art
I mean, it's something that I would definitely put up on a digital frame
In my house, you know, the art is is really really amazing
Have you thought about why are you thinking about maybe implementing some sort of mechanism that?
could change the way the tank looks like for example taking away fish or putting new fish in or
Maybe something like feeding the fish to make them bigger or something like that. Is that something that that is a
The important thing for any NFT project is to make sure that they're not biting off more than they can chew
And I'm gonna keep echoing that I think too many times projects
Try to do very ambitious protocols
That end up burning the collectors and the project itself. Yeah
So as this project currently exists, yeah, so as this project currently exists
What you see is what you get?
But they're they're definitely along with what we talked about earlier about, you know keeping this this, you know
Symbiotic relationship with with Stillman, you know, it's certainly something we talk about
I mean, we're we're focused on kind of the finish line of these tanks right now
But I'm certain, you know down the line we'll have conversations about
Optimizing tanks or doing maybe rerolls or something like that
But as of right now, we just want to deliver pristine 4k
Resolution, you know great art and so we're gonna start there and build our foundation
Yeah, okay. Perfect. That one says my question. Thank you very much
Yeah, hello, I just wanted to ask if there would be some Easter eggs about
Previous arts of Stillman in the in the collection or in the tanks some somewhere in the back background
Any Easter egg Stillman anything you've thrown in there as kind of a wink wink and nod a
Little bit I think I think if you've followed my work for a while or if you you go back and look at some previous stuff
You'll definitely see some some resemblance in there. There's also some nice Easter eggs to just like general things as well
Not related to me specifically. So it'll be exciting to see who picks up on what?
One of my favorite it's not even an Easter egg, but just these little intricate elements is
We we posted a trailer of I don't even know how this it's kind of a tropical tank
And there's a lighthouse in it and on the lighthouse. It has like the SF
Branding on it those little things
You'll be able to pick up on and there's a lot of really cool
Trinkets and details in these in these fish tanks Colin X go ahead
Firstly, I really like to say I appreciate what you guys have going on
I want to say I'm a very very early support
I've been pulling you up for like a very long time now though
Gets in on the allow list of the white leaves are proving really really hard and appreciate the fact that
It's kind of hard to get because that creates the value on the project. I would like to ask though, even though
I see you're trying to do something different with the project. I wonder why you don't have
Collaborations with all the bigger projects and
Yeah, basically where they will collapse and what exactly are the criteria to actually get on the
Allow list of the whitelist folks. I really really yeah
Yeah, there is there the criteria is to be a great collector, but there really is no criteria
We've never asked for a retweet. We've never asked for likes tags. We don't do any public giveaways
We're not asking you for anything
So, you know when when when people get whitelist or they don't get whitelist
Just you know that we never asked anything of anyone other than just be interested in the project and a lot of people are and so
The demand is very high right now and we have to be very exclusive and picky
But one of the main things we want to do is create a ton of goodwill with even people who aren't on the allow list
In hopes that these are people who would buy on the secondary and have conviction in us
So we just want to create a lot of goodwill and do what we're doing right now
We're taking questions from everybody answering every question and being fully transparent with with everything we're doing
So that's that's super important to us. I mean as far as collaborations go
When I say we're not doing any collaborations
We're not doing them with like your traditional like alpha groups
What we are doing and I'm not even Sheriff Stillman knows about this
But we were able to secure a collaboration with GM Dow
Which is probably the best fine art
Collectors in web 3 they have a you know
5e4 price under a thousand collectors in the space and they've they've ran multiple giveaways
We're gonna be doing an AMA in there for some point. We're really catering to a lot of our communities
Not because we're trying to box out other types of collectors
But we just want people who who love art because this is an art project
Chef Derek you have your hand up
Yes, yes now that was me on discord earlier by the way, but yeah, go ahead go ahead there dude, oh man
Alright, yeah, I just wanted to ask if you could talk a little bit more about the the mechanic that
When it came to like having your something's fishy as your profile picture, right?
Like I know you guys talked about you know
Having the community really be the marketing and really be the voice on Twitter
And you know, I know you guys talked about kind of reporting those holders, you know, like rewarding
Rewarding us as a community kind of wrapping it
So I wanted to you know wanted you to you know, kind of talk a little bit more about that
How if you can link anything about how that's gonna work
So one of the things that's important about something's fishy is that we're treating these fish tanks
As access passes to our ecosystem and kind of just the beginning to our story
What you're talking about with the community marketing budget
Won't come into play immediately with these fish tanks because as you can imagine these fish tanks are not meant to be PFPs
But you can kind of read into what you're talking about
You know, we might have more drops in the future
And that will definitely be a gamified experience kind of or or really cool experiment
And to kind of outline what what you're talking about to the people who are a little lost right now
Have a community marketing budget we haven't paid any influencers we haven't paid for any marketing
We're not paying for Twitter spaces even the people on our council right now have not taken any money
We only are paying our artists in our debt team because you are people like still men are literally the backbone of what we're doing
So we're making sure, you know, those people are the focus
For sustainability, we believe that marketing really should be done by the community itself who really understand this project innately
Rather than people who are influencers who are you know, you know do a one-week promotion and move on to the next thing
So there will be a community marketing budget with that along with other things will be really crystallized after mint
We have we have a lot more to get into from a tech standpoint
But certainly appreciate that
We really are limited here. So
I'm gonna go to your favorite sugar girl real quick and we'll try to get through these hands fast
Hi GM GM, can you hear me?
Yeah, okay. How you doing?
Great what's up? Yeah, I'm alright
So firstly, I would like to commend you for the good work you're doing
Like your consistency is really amazing. I'm really impressed
Considering the fact that you've been building for a long time like since around July of last year
That was when I knew about your project
And you're still here. So that is really something commendable. I would like to commend you for that
So my first question is I like to know what utilities you intend to offer
to all those of your NFC and
Then my second question is this I would like to know if there are upcoming collaborations
That we should look forward to
Yeah, yeah, I mean one of the fabric of what we're doing is, you know collaborations and we have a lot of stuff
I mean I have meetings today and that that realm
nothing we want to announce right now because
At this moment, I would think the best utility is you know, you meant something you get great art
So right now the main utility is just great art. This is an access pass to to artists and art collaborations
As we saw in the bear market art stood the test of time
Access to artists stood the test of time things like art blocks mean cards like punk six five two nine
So we're kind of following the footsteps and trying to bridge the gap between not web two and web three, but web three, you know collectors
So that that's kind of where we're starting off right now
Really appreciate your I do have to jump off
Because I have another AMA to go to in a discord
And we'll certainly be doing way a lot more of these AMAs going forward
And so, you know, if you have more questions, I'm sure they will be answered
The two other people with their hands up have already asked questions. So we really appreciate them and then we appreciate
I'm sorry. Sorry to interrupt you before you go
Actually, I've been your DM since July of last year when you started out
So I really appreciate if you could
Response it. Thank you very much
Yeah, yeah, thank you and we definitely got to thank still men appreciate you coming through man
Yeah, thank you everyone. So glad you like the work and excited to see this thing roll out
Absolutely, definitely in the next couple weeks you guys will be revealing tanks and it's gonna be a magical experience
Thanks again to Stillman and everyone and just remember something is coming
