Okay, how are we people? Happy?
Thursday June 15, 2023. It is our fourth one revealed day. Welcome to that soon spaces episode to our fourth one reveal party. I will be your host for this afternoon or perhaps evening, depending on where in the world you are joining us from. I'm a solution Dixon.
I'm a director of community and content here at Nike Virtual Studios, overseeing some of the comms.shoes. I am very fortunate to not only be joined by some co-speakers who are going to be talking about their work, but I also want to shout out my co-host in this journey right now, Madison Hartman and
and recent Lawrence who have just been behind the scenes just kind of keeping you all updated creating some really incredible visuals. And they're going to help make sure that this experience has matched up to all the other dope, that's whose experiences that you've had up to this date. So shout out to them. Got a lot to tell you.
get through for today. Obviously the primary focus what we really want to talk about is it's our first one reveal day. Happy to announce that reveal has rolled out to 100% of all users. So that's a big moment, you know, you know, in truth, that's whose fashion. We said one set of times and it
We need it a little bit more time, but it's the reveals begin at 12 p.m. And we are now able to confirm that all 100% of our dot-scrush members who purchased an R-force 1 can now reveal which pair or which style they have. So an exciting day.
But let's, let's bear guests up into the mix to incredible co-workers of mine experts within their respective fields and just arguably two of the coolest people that we have working at Nike. Mr. Nick Rupp and Mr. Cole Chow, welcome to the stage here.
How are we going? We got a sound board now too. This is next level. Yeah, how do I get on that? Come on now. Yeah, geez. Appreciate you. What's up guys? How is everyone doing? Hope everyone's doing well.
Guys. Nicole, this is kind of a full circle moment for those of you who've been following along from from day one, you are also our first guest on dot sucess and there are sneakers live stream. So it's great to now bring you back in other words, such an exciting portion of our of our journey.
The streets want to know just based off how cool you were dressed that day. What kicks are we wearing on Revealed Day? What do we got? What sort of heat we got on the feet today? Definitely some really nicely worn slides with a pair of socks, you know, got cozy. Big work from home.
to you right now. I get it. That's right. What about you? What pair of Air Force ones are you looking at but not wearing right now? I'm looking at slide for us right now in a phone night yoga fit at home with incense
burning on on lounge day, but yeah, no indoor kicks for me just just hanging tough in the slides right now. Yeah, I feel it. It's a when we're all together, you know, we kind of we've kind of put it on, but now that we know or at home, we want to make sure feeling good so we get the job done.
Well, I've said today's today's exciting day, man. The R4S1 journey's been going on for quite a few months now. I don't think we need to start at the very, very beginning. I think a lot of the folks who who are here right now are probably pretty familiar with how we got to this point, but this is arguably one of the most exciting.
chapters within the ongoing journey, but I did want to give us a quick little look back before we get to discussing which pairs people have, some of the design inspirations behind them, and just recapping like the R4ce1 sale, right?
Wow, literally to the day, just like we planned it guys, just like we planned it a month ago on May 15th, first access sale began. So that was the opportunity for those who received the R4S1 poster, which is randomly air job to approximately 106,000 members.
one of those posters that basically serve as a midpass for you to purchase an OF1 box during our first access sale. I sort of made a joke about it, but we can acknowledge it because you know it's behind us at this point, but uh, uh, you hiccup so a few delays in in launching that that first access
sale. While we were navigating that, the team made the decision to extend that sale. So it was originally supposed to run from Monday through Wednesday. The team made decision, let's give those who might have not had the opportunity to purchase because of some bugs or issues on our side. We extended that first access sale
So that ran through May 19th. At the end of it, when first access was all done, there are 23,000 OF1 boxes sold. So approximately 23,000 people purchased an OF1 box at the end of first access. That let this with doing some napkin math here. Let's see.
about 83,000 boxes were left and we're still available heading into that general access sale. So general access then began that following Monday and again ran through I believe those that full week. A lot of a lot of efforts to to make sure we we got the
The word out for OF1, you know, we had some content going in the sneakers absence emails obviously did some really exciting reveals on IG and on Twitter. I'm going to the end of it. I'm really proud to say that we ended up selling 98,000
of one boxes to approximately 53,000.switch members. So really just a huge achievement, something that we're very proud of and very appreciative of. The community is just like support and just like contributions here. I think again, the
There's a lot of bumps in the initial start, but at the end of the day it was a really great response and a ton of energy for this first launch. We ended up with 50,000 new 8 boxes sold and approximately 48,000
and classic remix. Nick, Nicole, any surprises coming out of like first access, general access, like when that all wrapped up, how are you feeling? Were you expecting more or less like what were your thoughts on those first sales?
I honestly did not see the 50 versus 48 coming in. I thought there was going to be more OG heads pulling up for classic remex. So that was the one thing I was kind of surprised about. I thought it was going to lean a little bit heavier, more OG, but I think some of the new wave designs, when you
when we started teasing them on social, it might have convinced a couple more folks. Obviously shout out to Bryce Wong on the team too. He's been absolutely crushing the designs, but yeah, that's one thing that was super surprising to me. I thought it was a little bit more love for the OGs, but that's why we gave the option. - No doubt.
Yeah, I'm definitely plus one what Nick said, you know, like I think a lot of people coming to this space are probably looking for things that you know are familiar and you know cues that you know made them fall in love with the Air Force one from day one but also
for people coming to the space who are looking for something new. I think that's where, you know, I'm a little less surprised that there's definitely more interest in, you know, some new stories that we try to infuse in the new wave box. So hopefully, you know, we got to hear from some people what they got.
in their boxes today, but definitely excited to see kind of where the interest is starting to shift in this new space. You mentioned this guy, Bryce Wong, the Sandman, and I did notice that he is in the chat, so I did want to shout him out, Mr.
him himself if you did want to you know even behind the scenes working but I don't know if you want to uh if you want to come say hello if not we can keep moving but I just wanted to to acknowledge you because I saw you out there what's up fam yo I am proud of everybody
This is awesome. Hi everybody else who is just along for the ride was good. That was the best intro I think out of all of ours. Shout out Santa. The best part is of all of us. Bryce is the one who rehearsed the least. It's just natural. You can't.
teach us in storm artists like this. Well Bryce, we appreciate you for for for following along and just like also everything you've done here. It might tap on you again to to talk about some of these designs, but we also wanted to shout out some of our co-creators we saw were in in the space here right now. It sounds like Sid and Dave David are in the mix. So shout out to them.
might have opportunity to hear from them a little bit later as we get to the different Arthwurst One Box types, but definitely appreciate them for making the time and for joining and just for telling such amazing stories and Bryce Kudos to you for taking those basically IG mood boards and turning them into these really sick virtual creations here.
With that being said, oh my, our guy, Aaron's also here too shout out to Aaron. So at the end of it, right? So there was approximately
Let me do my math here. 98,000 boxes sold to 53,000 dots whose members. So by all accounts are really successful first collection launch. But that does leave us with the question of those unsold boxes, right? So there's a 100
and 6453 of one boxes in the collection to begin with. We sold again just around 98,000. That left us with a little bit under 8,000 boxes that were not sold.
beginning a lot of questions about what's going to happen to those boxes, what are we doing with them, are they going to be burned, are they being taken out of the allocation? And I have like a yes and a no to that. No, they will not be taken out of the allocation or the collection. Those boxes will remain part of
The R4 is one allocation though. Unsold boxes are still staying. They're still part of the contract. Nothing is happening to them right now. But we're still trying to figure out what the right moment, what the right opportunity is to
to get them in the hands of our community, right? So whether that's an opportunity for another OF1 sale as we expand to new territories for members who maybe did get a chance to participate in this one, maybe some upcoming surprise in delight moments. We haven't yet figured it out. I just want to be candid like these are things that we're trying to figure out. We did
store $1,982.00, and a Nike-owned wallet to keep in our own vaults. But we don't know what's in those boxes. There's no way of knowing what's in those boxes until they get revealed, which is kind of the exciting part of it. Who knows? There could be some crazy grills
in there, we'll have to see, we'll have to figure it out. But for right now, just to address that question that we have gotten a bit, the unsold boxes, they're not being taken out of the distribution, we're just still trying to figure out how exactly we're going to get them in the hands of some more of our dots, who is members.
So that brings us to the gallery. So in addition to the reveal option, if you've been exploring the sues.nike page today, you might have seen a fun new edition, a new tab, which is the gallery feature. And it's been really dope because you can
now browse through all of our past virtual creations. That's including your swoosh ideas. You can just filter for swoosh ideas and see all 350,000 plus swoosh ideas. You can filter by the different logo types. I also want to answer probably a lot of people chose the sneakers logo.
Hey, as people give that app a lot of people chose to use this the sneakers logo as their primary logo for their Swedish idea, but it's dope just to see the level of like creativity and self expression that people have here and you can sort of filter in and see what some of the different trends are, you know, as a fair amount of artifact representation there. It's something like three
So members chose to use the artifact blade for their swucia ID, so that was really dope. But in addition to that, when you, so you can, you can toggle through our force one, oh, if one box, oh, if one poster poster revealed, but we want to see the OF ones, right? So that's where you can see all of the, the our forces that have been
revealed so far. As we sort of mentioned in our various social channels and just like again if you've been on this journey with us for a while you kind of know how we do we take things slow so the functionality the capability to reveal your R4ce 1 was rolled out to
some of our members starting at 12 p.m. Pacific today. We were sort of doing that slowly over the course of the subsequent hour leading up to literally like right now to scale it out so that all members could then reveal their pair. We're at 100% now.
And that kind of gets us to the sort of exciting part where we want to talk about this reveal moment and like this next chapter in how the this journey has progressed. So I think starting with just the fundamentals of how reveal works, right? So if you go to your profile,
and you see whatever's in, so I can do this in real time, right? I'm on my profile. I see it's Luch Gata Swoosh. I can scroll down to the virtual creations that are in there. I personally purchased three OF1 boxes. I got two classic remix, one new wave,
I can go select one of those and then I can just tap the reveal button from there. It'll give me another opportunity just to confirm that and then I can see in real time which pair that I'm getting. So if you haven't if you don't have that button or you're not seeing it, whatever reason.
Well, I guess let us know, you know, because we need to know like why that isn't working, but we're pretty confident that everyone has that functionality and you're able to do it.
And that kind of brings us to the pairs themselves and what the reveal is, like what you're seeing. So Nicole, I wanted to bring you back up to discuss some of the kind of insane scale of like when you go to that gallery page for the R4ce 1 collection
You just see this wall of different shoes spanning generative and archive and that's who studio and you're seeing all these like member names that are like that own them all these different holders like he just talked me like what does that what does that feel right now just like seeing this actually out in the wild and like all the behind the scenes worked that has gone into it.
Yeah, I'm a little lost for words. I think it's such a huge body of work in kudos to the team that originally concepted it from Sandman, Bryce Wong to Logan Moe, who you've heard and seen on Sneaker's Live.
economy who's been the guy behind the scenes around rarity, to tokenomics, to Dan, to Ushwin. There's so many people who were behind the details, storytelling, down to getting the shape right, you know, because as we know that
there are so many fans out there who again fell in love with the shoe pre-2007 so as you guys know there are very specific features and details that were iconic to that era and then making sure that a lot of the stories and the newer shape of the era for us when we're also captured
for people who started copying those shoes after 2007. Seeing that is extremely humbling, but also hearing from the community and seeing the response has been so awesome. So just super excited and proud of the team today. Nicole, did you reveal?
You know, I literally just refreshed my wallet and I'm seeing reveal buttons, but I have not clicked on any yet. Did you? I did I wanted to I didn't want to I did I'm anxious. I'm not I have a lot of I'm nervous. Oh God Nick have you I have not I literally I have
time and I've been staring at the reveal button and I'm almost like looking at the numbers. Do I reveal the lower number first? How many do I keep closed? I can't decide but hopefully at the end of the day I'll get to it. So you guys are still sitting on closed boxes as well. Yeah, if you're rolling out I feel like just
self-proceeds like I want to make sure it's working for the community first. Make sure like if there are any like traffic implications like let me not add to it with like my over-everness. I can wait but I am I'm hoping I'm going to be on a self-proceed. I'm kind of hoping for like an archive one because I feel almost like like a virtual
I would love to get a pair that I actually own. That would be really cool just to see the virtual representation of it. Nicole, speaking of that, so let's start with the archive pairs. Those are all of the Air Force One styles that have existed.
have been launched in the past that have like real-life companions. What was the process? And again, the Air Force one has been around for a long time. There's a lot of different interpretations of it, it's been probably every type of material, every different way you could embellish, design, improvise on that shoe.
it's been done. And we just focus on the Nike by Nike ones, right? We didn't even bring in collaborators here. What was the process like like working with your team and the design team of like matching some of these really intricate shoes up to the virtual, virtual creation version?
Yeah, so when it came to the design let alone the creation I think that the first step was to you know recreate the product one for one you know down to the shade of color depending on the material and as simple as it might you know see you know imagine like why didn't you guys just scan
and the shoe, it would have been perfect, right? But the team spent months going back and forth on details like the grain of leather, to the lighting on the leather, side-and-scale of graphics, the depth and tone of different panels, and even the length and
density of fur. I kid you not. I have never squinted so hard in my life and I'm pretty sure my eyesight has gotten worse, but it's all worth it. So I think that was definitely the foundation of just getting the shoes right to make sure that whoever out there in a community who own these colors
We're doing right by you guys. And then I think the second step in our process was taking the original designs and pushing it just a step further to break new life into the story. You know, for those who revealed the archive styles, you'll notice that we introduced some environments that provided colored commentary
around the shoe itself. So for example, let's take the Air Force One phone positive for the ones who know, we referenced the Alpha Project campaign with the 1-800 number below and the original ads, as you guys remember, was a photograph of the Penny Hardaway phone positive with a red check over link.
on top. So we tried to nod a little bit to the genealogy and the storytelling behind the reference of the colorway. And that was a really fun process just to make sure that, again, we were doing true and right by the culture and the whole ecosystem.
The last thing I'll say is we also added some obvious to Deep Cut if you know you know references that determine the quantities of each of these archive colorways. So you'll notice on Twitter we put out some and had you guys guess kind of what inspired those numbers.
and where did it come from? You have colorways like the Air Force 1 Halloween. That only has 31 units because the holiday falls in 31st. And then on the other hand, there are other ones like the Air Force 1 jewel that only had 6 minutes because diamonds are made from carbon. And carbon's atomic number is
six on the periodic. Some of those are really weird. I mean, I'm clearly not smart enough to come up with that one, but that was clearly by, you know, the one in only dichotomy. So, shout out to him on that one. Yeah, I can't, we got to put boundies on it.
to see who from the community really digs deep to kind of like decipher and decode some of these Easter eggs. It's gonna be crazy. People are gonna start doing the next Easter eggs gonna be all about like that. He was born on this street. His ninth birthday and some of those don't
I'm not sure what you're saying. Like the meticulous attention to detail for getting just something like the patent leather and how that comes to life like in a 3D version and or even like with the the year of the
dog, right? I remember seeing early versions with Logan who was like, "Yeah, we're working back." The fur just isn't right. It's just not furry enough. I was just the level to detail. I was like the strive for perfection that you guys had is really impressive.
behind the scenes watching all that happen and now that we get to not only let people reveal them, but also own one of those like really meticulously designed pairs is like really, really sick. And kudos to you guys.
The neck? Yeah, honestly, yeah. I was just really quick. I just wish we recorded some of those conversations because if you guys are in the room, it sounds so ridiculous, but maybe for another time.
We can do it now if you want. So, Nicole, we got some of the archives styles. And I think, again, like he said, there's some really, really cool storytelling behind all of them. And it was great to see how sleuthy and intuitive our community was with like,
figuring out some of these quantities and like that was kind of the fun part in building these stories, right? It's not just the issue itself, but it's the reveal animation. And then it's also the quantities that start to build this like really comprehensive storytelling.
like vehicle, but let's get into the generative collection. So these are something net new, right? Like these are pairs that have never existed and they're using
Not even, I don't even know if materials is the right way to describe them because some of them are like so fluid and there's motion, but it's like it's using color blocking that literally couldn't exist in real life. Nicole again, can you just like walk us through it a high level like what are the makings of the generative collection?
Yeah, for sure. So I'm gonna Maybe high level just talk about How we really got started right so you know first of all as you guys know the Air Force one start as a performance shoe right so as you guys can probably tell from the Breath of colors a lot of the original color
of the Air Force ones were made for college and MBA athletes to match with their team uniforms. So that was the foundation of how we came up with the palette for both classic remixes and new wave. And then you'll notice specifically for classic remixes, there are some details that are very iconic
late 90s. If you remember Rashid Wallace as one of the first athletes that showcased PEs for those who don't know, PE stands for player exclusive, right? Special color ways that were only worn on court and not for sale. You'll notice those details were harking back to, you know,
new color blocking and graphics that you couldn't get at retail at the time. And so, you know, over time, if you'll get the embroidered hit on the foxing, that became a canvas of expression for, you know, influences beyond basketball, you know, art
musicians, retailers and communities, and developing their own iconic emblems. And eventually that became a big collector's detail that people look for. So we want to pay homage to that. And we wanted to infuse a little bit of new
stories, for example, that were inspired by, you know, Untold Nike Folkmore or even from the community or even Dotswitch members themselves. So that's the classic remix side and then on the new wave side, you'll notice that we really kind of dove into
If we were to design product purely for a virtual world, what first comes to mind, right? Materials and expressions that can exist in the real world that is bound by the physical limitations. So you'll notice that the color palette for a new wave is similar to classic greenics, but reimagine
and inspired new textures that you see in the upper that are viscous and liquid and even some that might be a fire. We really were focusing on adding a new dimension to product that we can't traditionally achieve through manufacturing today.
Well, you know, I am going to take advantage of having the Sandman in our presence. Bryce, I would love to hear from you. I think Nicole and Bryce both having a background on the SB side, which is arguably one of the more fun and kind of exploratory portions of the Nike business.
But what was it like just realizing that like the traditional limitations of like actual materials were no longer like a concern that you it was literally like, yo, we could make a shoe that has like green lava flowing through it. Like how did that sort of open your eyes to the process of designing footwear?
That's a great question. You know, it was actually pretty difficult. You know, having a background in SB, I made shoes that are literally unwearable because they're so crazy. So like I've had experience kind of like taking things to the next level, but this was
was like a whole new world. I think people wanted expectations of can you make this thing like the craziest thing you've ever seen. You know, there were people like, well, that might freak people out. So it was really a finding a balance of like getting people to respect the, like kind of the original silhouette.
While still like giving them something that they've never seen like a wild factor I think Nicole did a really great kind of job of explaining kind of like just why the rhyme and reason why we did stuff But it was I mean it was a challenge, you know, there's this is Nike and we have crazy expectations of wanting to do like the most out there innovative stuff
And, you know, we wanted to set it up and have some baby steps and give people some crazy things to look at and set people up for the next which, you know, will hopefully be even crazier. But, you know, it's just like the first step. We just had to get something out there that really gave people a taste of like,
This is not some normal stuff. And hopefully people feel that we achieve that. I personally, I love the collection. I think it's like the craziest shit to see. Yeah, I'm just about it. Like I said, like everyone said, I didn't rehearse or prepare for this.
at all. We're flowing here. I think to add to add to what Bryce is saying, when we're working in traditional manufacturing and product creation, we have to work on
And you know, timeline that work with the factory. You know, we share factories. Let's say back in SB, we shared factories with other categories and other products. So we could only do so much within a time frame. And you couldn't go back and change things, right? Because the products you were designing had to go out the door for a spring summer or
for a holiday. And this is, again, creating without traditional seasons anymore, which really opens up the aperture. And I'll also add a fun fact before it was so difficult to incorporate life feedback and immediately impact what you're putting out the next day.
For you guys who don't know, all the colors that you chose to customize to mint your first swish ID, those percentages actually were factored in to an indictated, how many units of each colorway would be available in the gener of collection?
which is really cool. You know, like, that's wild. I think he might need to like rewind that and just say that again. I'm gonna be honest. This is the first time I've heard that. So, so all of the colors.
So, so, so, so, so, do you remember what color you chose for your background?
I lose you. Nope, you're good. Can you hear me? Yes, sorry. It would be a Twitter space without some sort of temporary technological concerns. I apologize, but what I was looking to ask was like,
I think that what you just shared was like really impactful and just like goes to the attention of detail and thoughtfulness that has been put into this entire experience. I just wanted to just focus on that point that you just made that. So at what point, we're saying that every switch ID that was created, you are like,
allow to kind of customize it, right? You're able to build your own color. And you're saying that those colors were used to inform the color palette for the genera collection. Do I get that right? Sorry, I'm going to say it again.
The percentages of the colors of the dot swoosh community chose to customize their IDs. Those were amalgamated and then the final percentages dictated how many units of each color away would be available in the gender of collection.
That's pretty cool. We've gotten through two out of the three categories. We've seen a few questions in the chat here. I want to do our best to try and address some of these in real time. Also want to see your reveals. If you've already revealed your pair with
like we'd love to see what you've gotten. We'd love to see some of the generative pairs, some of the archive styles. If you've already revealed some of your OF1s, please send them our way. We're excited about this and we want to just see some of the enthusiasm, which is some of the dope pairs, especially on the generative side. We literally don't know what combination
or what your shoe will look like until you reveal it. It is completely randomized using all these different traits and characteristics. These are designs that literally have never been seen by anyone before. We're excited to see all these. Please drop some of those in the chat. We should address the
what you can do with your your or one in the utility for that so for this first collection the immediate utility that will be offered will be access to 3d files will be making those files available to download and about a month time I'd please don't hold me to that because again well it'll probably change but that's what we're that's what we're tracking
towards will also include some information on what you can do with them, give some recommendations on best practices, things like that. If you want to ensure that you feel empowered to utilize those 3D files, and then following that there will be some additional things that may come with your OFundra still trying to figure it out.
I've heard Nicole and her team are working on some other really cool products and maybe Nick is scheduling a really cool event that we can all attend. Maybe a new .2 session. We're again, it's something that we're building together and we don't want to commit to anything but we want to make sure that you're understanding that as being an OF1 holder, there will be some
some utility that comes with it, but the immediate one that all OF1 holders will get will be access to those 3D files which we will distribute or may, excuse me, make available for download in about a month's time. And as always, you follow along with us on social, on email, all that. We'll make sure you guys are informed.
know what to do and and when to do it. With that being said though, I think one of the more exciting categories with all due respect to the incredible work and thought that went into the generative collection. And of course archive. You know I'm a I'm an old head. I love my off ones and my a phones. Is the
The Dotswo Studio category, right? So that's our co-creators. I think some of them are in the chat, so I would love to hear from them soon. But Nick, I would love if you could just kind of remind everyone a bit about the your Force One project and just as your role within this part of the collection.
Yeah, 100% I think what you know when we set out to essentially build this whole thing when we decided to build dots, we should kind of think about the you know strategic sort of like value that we can add for the community. It centered pretty quickly around co-creation not only in
in regards to collaboration on product, but also how do we redefine what co-creation means? For those that have been kind of like in the Nike universe and you followed sort of like our marketing over the past couple of years that we've done, whether it's Airmax Days, if you guys remember, vote back, vote for
Word on air or if you guys remember sort of I'm dating myself a little bit here, but Complex cons and where we did Air Force workshops this idea of customization and bringing people into sort of tell their story. This isn't a new idea. I think that narrative has been sort of like part of our kind of like dea
and A at Nike, specifically in sort of like the sneaker kind of realm for a long time. And as soon as these like new tools came into our orbit, they provide an amazing upgrade to exactly that sort of like strategy. How do we bring people in? How do we work with them faster?
How do we create more opportunities for people to essentially tell their story because at the end of the day Design is at the end all about storytelling right and everybody has a story I'm super excited to hear from from Nike's first virtual co-creators here in a second, but I'd be
Remest not to give a shout out to the amazing sort of community co-creators that are out there I think some of them are on the audience as well and thinking about Julian dot smooth Luke Dre mille and L.A. All the people that we've met while we were on the road doing dot smooth sessions. How do we bring more opportunities?
to build together, right? That can happen on collaborating on product. That happens when just like Nicole told us, when you make choices, when you vote on things, you determine the outcome, right? The whole part of the R4S1 collection began with voting because
because we wanted to make sure that we sort of provide new opportunities and new avenues for our community to get involved. And I think the ultimately what we wanted to do is as part of this first collection, we wanted to give an opportunity for
people's stories to be included. So I'm seeing our fam get invited to the stage which led us to essentially our your Force One project. So as part of our Force One collection, our Force One because we invited everyone in to vote but we also wanted to hear
from people and have their stories be told. So if you followed us on Instagram from the very beginning, you're an OG now I guess. You saw the your Force One sort of mood board contest that we held because we wanted to give people the opportunity to have their designs included in this.
collection to be Nike's first virtual co-creators, but to also be entitled to creator royalties down the road, which is an amazing and big upgrade to how we collaborate with people inside the brand. So here we are. We got David, we got Sydney, I think we got
Aaron as well, perfect, who are our first virtual co-creators, who's creations. I actually browsed through the gallery page earlier and saw some of y'all actually pulled their designs. And I think it's amazing that you guys are here. I think it would be awesome to hear from you guys.
guys a little bit more about your experience and also maybe share a little bit of the story working with Bryce Sandman to get your designs made and sort of like reveal a couple details of your creation and the story that you looked at with your shoes.
Let's start, Lucian, you want to take it? Yeah, I would say, I mean, you know, this is still a shovel of space. Like Sid, I would love to hear from you first. Let's go. First of all, like you said, David Sidney, Aaron, appreciate you all for taking the time and for joining us on the stage today. But yeah, Sidney, if you're if you're available to chat
I would love to hear how you're feeling on all one real that your design is out there Hey fam can y'all hear me okay? Perfect. How does that look like a lively environment? I'm a big girl. Yeah, I had to say baby girl I'm good the lake today But yeah, it's been so real so far even today like again like I think through
throughout this process, even though we've become the first virtual co-creators and we've gone through this experience, something that doesn't stop throughout its life. So it's like even today is the reveal but still running around doing mom and things and business owner things but the process to be a part of this
experience is still something I like is hard for me to describe and I've never considered myself like a digital creator or a creator in artistic sense but always a writer and so if I'm at a loss for words then that says a lot but see you guys tag us and get in our designs and get in our shoes
And also just seeing, you know, like they say, like scrolling through the gallery and it's like, wow, like ours are in the number. It's definitely unreal. So I just appreciate the opportunity, I appreciate the experience. I've never been shot to tell my story. So it's just dope that I get one of my favorite brands to do it. So thank you.
Amazing. Well, thank you and again appreciate you taking the time like you said you still got regular life to attend to and I appreciate you making the time to talk with our dad swoosh fam David would love to love to go to you and just like you know and even really
really just like supportive of this whole project and like creating some really incredible designs like seeing the finished product out there and just like what has been the response among your friends or like just how they feel just seeing it on that
gallery page knowing that this month-long experience is now real. Yeah, it's incredible. I think for a lot of us we're so used to seeing some of these designs in the kind of one static angle and so now to have everyone be able to see the 3D designs and player
around it and see a lot of these shoes from the different angles. I think that's super exciting. I feel like I'm browsing the Pokédex all over again. There's just so many cool little things to look at. I think working with Bryce on, at least my design was super fun in that
I think we both speak a similar language in terms of love for content creation applications and what I was talking about. A certain idea for how a rectangle should look a certain way he just he instantly understood and that was that was so much fun so yeah definitely. I'm probably experienced far.
For sure David Chen and Sam and speaking the same language, so you know that's how you get a beautiful product like Park Pixel V3 Aaron Darries again. Let's see you both in there want to give you obviously
both of you the chance to speak about like this day and this moment and just like maybe some of the behind the scenes steps that have gone on with just like co-creating with Nike it is still like a pretty monumental
undertaking, right? So like, what was like the biggest challenge there as all this is to you? What was like the biggest challenge that you had in bringing to life the original concept that you had?
I think the biggest challenge was trying to distill all the thoughts and ideas down into a place where it could be told in storytelling through the shoe design. And then even from that point of trying to think bigger, like for me going in, I
been a sneaker head on my life and into shoes like it was it was hard for me to kind of think of this on a grander scale than just physical product and just the possibilities of what this could be in a virtual space for me it was kind of hard for me to wrap my head around there early on. Like I said, with the help of Bryce and and others on the on the team, I was able
kind of places forward and just kind of take the story to a little bit, a little bit further than initially we had in mind for it. Yeah, I mean, you did a incredible job and I think like getting to hear from you and just hear like your stories and the really personal details that you had and how, you know, it's also like we're talking about
the design process, like you all did this virtually, like over Zoom or just like over phone calls, like that alone is pretty different from how I would imagine price and the design team typically operates, right? So doing all of that remote presents its own set of challenges. But then Aaron
I don't know if you remember, but we all got to meet in person. We all got to hang out in Portland. I think that was maybe late March sometime around then. I forget the exact, but it's the public March. Can you talk me about that experience, right? Getting to visit Nike World headquarters for the first time, getting to meet the rest of the
virtual studios team. What was that experience like for you? Yeah, so like kind of everyone was saying like we were working all virtual to create this and I'm a high school teacher so it was like you guys took me right back into like 2020 teaching my kids online again but I got to do something way cooler than well I don't know teaching the kids
is pretty cool, but it was pretty rad to be able to work with the team virtually, but then we had the chance to all go on to Nike campus and it tied into my spring break. It was perfect timing and God actually get on ground with the team and it was a really really cool experience for I know David wasn't able to make
it when we were there. He went later, but Darius and I were able to really connect the three of us together and our families and just the whole Nike team and just get treated. We're part of that Nike family and it was a really cool experience for, I know for my wife and myself and my daughter can't talk to it really. She's 18 months of the
time, but it was something that for us was super, super meaningful beyond getting to reveal our shoe designs and talk to those and we're looking forward to seeing that continue and that narrative of the behind the design and we all went into it because I think you can see a little animation of the design but there's so much
more that goes into each of these four designs that I know talking with the rest of the my fellow creators were super stoked for everyone to learn more about really the stories behind that and how we played those into our designs. Yeah, I mean, again, I just want to give another shout out just to our four co-creators the first
ever Nike dots, which co-creators, which is like really incredible and just like a monumental moment for all of you and kudos to you for just taking such time out of your lives to work with us and it's a celebration for all the dots, who's members, but definitely wanted to make sure you got a chance to
get that recognition. Something we're very proud of, Nick, the virtual studio's team, Nicole as well, all of us were really excited. It's been one of our more rewarding experiences throughout this entire .shrews journey. Nick, I did want to put you on the spot real quick, because there's
I think it's kind of exciting that I feel like we were discussing earlier today and I wanted to know if you want to let the rest of our audience who's tuning in right now know about some of this exclusive uh third day one of ones come into our co-creators. If you've if you've made it this far in the Twitter space, my analysis wouldn't be start leaking
the real details. But yeah, we tried to keep this a surprise and that a keeping surprises and out of respect for the creators, I wanted to eventually let them know too, but we wanted to make sure that as the designers of the shoes, we do something special for them as well. And we work with
our team, again shout out to our engineering team, Jasmine and our tokenomics team, dichotomy and the rest of the crew, we made one-on-one creator tokens because we felt it was super important to honor the idea of collaboration in this space and quite frankly also rewarding the rookie classes.
like the the freshman class cipher of co-creation. So after the reveal obviously we're going to let give you all some time to reveal the mystery boxes. Like I said earlier I saw some of you guys already pulled some of the co-created designs but Sydney, David, Darius,
and Aaron will receive custom one-of-one tokens of their designs that have a slight graphic tweak that sort of sets them apart and marks them as essentially one-of-ones and they're unique in that sense. So we'll be air-dropped in the next couple of weeks. There
non-soulbound tokens for the creators because again we found thought it was super important I mean imagine you get to a design a virtual sneaker with Nike and you don't pull it out of your own mystery box essentially so I'd be devastated so we couldn't let that happen so that's what we wanted to make make good
by and obviously as kind of like the freshman class sort of like the first virtual co-creators, you know, they were our guinea pigs in this whole testing process. We built this from scratch and just kind of like thought about, you know, how do we construct this contest? How do we work with Nicole and
And we want to make sure we take those learnings and expand on them, scale them, and use .su studio as sort of the home for virtual co creation, but also provide more opportunities for the rest of the community to get involved. So whether that's, you know, the community, the community, the community, the community, the community, the community, the community, the community, the community, the community, the community, the community, the community,#
More collaboration opportunities, more curation opportunities. We have a lot of plans of what we wanted to do, but this has been sort of like a fantastic kind of first for stab at, you know, defining what collaboration means in the space. So as I thank you to you for and for the amazing
time that we've had and the journey that lies ahead, one-to-one tokens, air drop incoming very, very soon. We appreciate it. Thank you. Nick, of course. And you have to do it because it's his being recorded. So no going back. Oh, I want it now, okay. Oh, oh, oh, dang it.
Now that's awesome and I'll show it to you and the team for making that happen. Yeah, with that being said, those are the main categories of the R4 Swan collection, right? So at this point we just wanted to create a community moment and get everyone excited about the opportunity to reveal your OF1.
And if you have one box, if you have up to five boxes, you can just select your respective box and the reveal button will be there for you. You don't have to reveal it just to clarify like that is a decision you can make. There's also no penalty or like incentive to keep it closed or open it right. It's more so to see the pair you have and then to unlock that utility.
But I know obviously you know seeing who's in the chat right now. I'm sure there's a lot of people who are Maybe speculating that if you have a lower numbered box Maybe that increases your odds and I just want to clarify that everyone has the same odds no matter when you choose to open no matter what number
box you have, right? It is completely randomized. There's no value or incentive regardless of when you do it. So just to get that out there, everyone has the same odds no matter when you choose to open. So today's the first day when you have the opportunity to reveal, but there's no expiration date in that. That's something you could do tomorrow the next day.
five months from now whenever you so choose or you could keep it closed forever, who knows. But we wanted to celebrate those who have decided to reveal today and make this a communal moment. Again, 3D files for your OF1 will be coming soon. If you don't open your box, you will not be able to get those 3D files because we don't know which pair.
which O of one you have within your box. So we have more to come soon. Tomorrow will be a big day of an exciting announcement. Next Wednesday there will be another episode of our dot-shoot sessions on Sneaker's Live where we'll be talking about future of gaming and an exciting partnership that's in the works. Can't say too
much yet, but hopefully we'll see you all next Wednesday on sneakers live. Just want to once again say thank you to everyone who's been riding along with us on this journey. This is something pretty new for Nike and we're very appreciative of everyone's patience and support throughout this. We're incredibly excited
and proud of the work that we've done out there. Again, want to give Big Shout-outs to Madison and Risa who've been keeping the chat popping and just driving all of this on the day to day. Thank you again to Nick and Nicole for joining Bryce for that Sandman, Camille, who can have had it any other way. And just for the whole virtual studios team, we're really excited and really proud
proud to have OF1 revealed. So, appreciate you all. More to come soon. I know you've heard that before, but it is true. More come. Stay tuned. Stay tuned. As always, more to come. And thanks to everyone and enjoy the rest of your week. Shout out to the community. Keep building. We see you guys.
