Yes, we are. We are starting day to day. good for wonderful everyone yes yeah what's that exciting day today exactly so I'm just gonna extend my my low unity it's finally the day the All the sleepless nights, all of those who grew up
if you were considerably older than when I met you.
I think Prateek was just explaining his excitement while his camera decided to play spoilsport.
Yeah, there's so much excitement that your camera went out.
But as Prateek comes back, I just want to say that as an organization, we're really excited.
Today is a result of so much of hard work, of teams working together, cross-pollinating
ideas, the technology team, product growth, marketing, everyone is banded together for
And we consider it one of the foremost milestones, quite a way to start 2023.
It hasn't been an easy journey.
There have been, whenever you try and solve a big problem with many unknown unknowns, there are so many surprises that come your way.
And today is just a day to reflect on that. And we truly appreciate the support of our community.
and during this conversation we will just show you what we have planned, what our growth plans
look like, what are ways in which you can engage with the community. You'll also hear from
our co-founders, our Chief Technology Officer, myself, Bibi and our Chief Growth Officer and we'll
basically talk to you about the significance of this day and the significance of the broad
you know route to the main net during the course of the conversation you will you know you'll be
able to see it on youtube if you have any questions you know how to reach us we are available on all
social channels and personally i'm there of course to help you navigate anything that you're going to be encountering with.
So let me turn it over to Prateek.
Hopefully his camera and internet are back.
Well, it's not since we all live together and strategize together.
I have the advantage of being here with women.
Apologies for the whole camera thing you
know it's murphy's law um what i was saying is there's been so many sleepless nights
bibin has has grown older in the past couple of months and so have you guys and lucas i can't
even begin to tell you how many times middle of the night okay this is you have to fix it oh i
see i shaved my facial hair so that you cannot see all the silver.
Well, finally we are here. It was a simple idea and it began as we repeatedly said from a small chai shop in India and I can't tell you guys how proud I am of the entire team of the entire community
to build this the way we visualize this and then all the pivots that people did
better than us who came along and said no this is not how you should do it this is how it works
better so the fire family has had a very interesting ride.
And by FIRE family, I mean not just this,
but the extended family, that's you guys.
This is the first iteration of the product
that goes live to public,
which means that this is FIRE 1.0, if you will.
We will release sporadic updates,
I think very regular updates, in fact, until we reach
a general availability version in the next month or two.
So look forward to not just using this product.
I'm sure you guys will all play around with it.
Launch your smart contracts, try to break it.
That's one of the things that I'm really looking forward to because we haven't had a lot of
issues except one that happened yesterday.
But we haven't had a lot of issues till now with things breaking.
And that makes me a little bit on the edge because if I don't see it, then I'm like nobody has ever created a perfect product in their first try.
So there's definitely something there that you guys would look at
and I would love to see what breaks
and give you rewards in lieu of letting us know that.
Just wanted to say welcome, welcome to the family.
Make sure that you just not play with it,
but visualize the things that can be built on technology because
i always say that the next idea of the future are in someone's head and that someone's just
sitting around in a cafeteria so i'm trying to come to you uh through the screen and also
personally in those cafeterias and colleges. I'm the big example.
The idea came in a meditation session where I did not expect it at all.
So very excited, very excited to look at the feedback.
I'm going to look at the chats while everybody else is talking.
And I'm going to give it over to Lucas
to go into the detail of what the product looks like.
And then we'll reconvene again
and have a short chat during the end of the call. So like and then we'll reconvene again and have a
short chat during the end of the call. So Lucas, over to you, please.
Cool. Thanks, PD. Yeah. So it's been pretty exciting. We've been ironing out all the issues
and as you would hear from Murphy's Law, there's literally just one thing that was a thorn in my side that literally just popped up over the weekend.
I was like, well, that's just dandy.
And just before jumping on this call, that just got sorted out.
So, you know, shout out to the team.
The experience that you're going to get with OpenVeta is pretty much the same thing that those of you who had access to Alpha had experienced so far with a couple of additional things.
So what I'm very happy to say that we managed to add on two massive things.
First, it's the white-labeled Remix IDE.
So essentially what we wanted to do is just trim all the unnecessary things
from the standpoint of the fire chain and provide our own UI.
And we attached it over to the Explorer app
so that you get everything under one roof.
So you don't need to like change the tabs and like you know different places you get everything over there all that you need to get
started with you know like the journey in fire chain then the next big thing that we got and
this is actually something that's pretty exciting to me is um as you know fire chain is um a dual
chain what i mean by that is on what it's implemented in substrate right so obviously
you know we support substrate native addresses and all the you know shebang that you would expect of
um substrate on the other side of the coin though uh we're evm compatible right so that basically
means that you know like you also get um evm uh account format etc etc etc then token reflected
one and the other they don't immediately uh get represented
in one or the other you need to swap them out then obviously you know you'll need to pay transaction
fee for that but why am I saying all this because ultimately if you want to use MetaMask which is
you know the the factory standard for EVM based chains right you would miss out on half of the features we got on the
substrate side of things right so naturally um as every evm chain you know we support uh metamask
right but that wouldn't just cut it so we had to kind of roll up our sleeves and um write an
extension which on one hand you know provides everything that you would expect of MetaMask on the other
hand it would have to provide support for the substrate native chain and we got it going and
it's getting uploaded as we speak so now the idea behind it was that you know we didn't want you to
you know connect your different wallet to get the different experience.
We just wanted to provide you with everything in one extension.
And with that being said, we realized that we don't really want to burden our users with
a web wallet to which you will be logging in.
I mean, not logging in uh that you got to be
connecting your uh wallet from the extension to right because ultimately it would give you the
same experience right and we have a lot of things um planned out for the web wallet to just make it
more wholesome experience so what we decided to do was basically kind of like pushing the back burner
and you know like as we start adding additional things that i'm not going to be talking about just
now um we got to get it back back onto you so all of you that had access to
the alpha version who are going to look at the you know available uh tools and features uh when
you guys got to start scratching your heads asking where's the web wallet everything that you can do
with the web wallet you can do an extension right so basically this is the first thing. Now, with that being said, what we are launching with right now is basically two flavors of smart contracts for you, right?
So obviously, we support Solidity as we have full EDM support.
On the other side, we also support Inc. smart contracts.
Solidity smart contracts, you can deploy them over Remix.
With respect to the ink smart contract,
you have to do a little bit more of legwork,
but everything is documented for you
so that you can take your first step.
You've got a sample repository
that's got to walk you through that.
We'll get you more intuitive tools coming soon.
the thing that Prateek mentioned earlier on,
this is the beta version.
So obviously we expect certain things to be broken
and we're expecting that you guys got it pointed out.
Also, we're hoping that you guys are going to be able
to tell us what else you would want to see,
what works for you, what doesn't,
so that we can get all that feedback
and add it to our roadmap and basically give you know, give you what actually suits your use
cases the best, right? Obviously, you can't say yes to everybody. So, you know, we're going to be,
you know, selective about the things that we're going to cater for. However, the fact of the
matter is that ultimately, we want to provide a tool that folks can start building with, right,
and building on Firechain chain so that's just one
thing that i wanted to say over here now on the way to the general availability version right
there is one big thing that we want to update which is basically um our consensus mechanism
so the philosophy in the consensus mechanism says the same as it was before so basically you know we are
factoring in the sustainability scores but we're just going to go about them in a slightly
different in a slightly different manner so that the consensus is actually indeed fully
decentralized right so practically speaking yes we're going to be busy working with that. But for you as an end user,
there will be very little to no difference noticeable
because ultimately, you know,
the user experience that you're going to have
with deploying, developing, deploying,
and interacting with your smart contracts
is going to be exactly the same as you have right now.
Other than that, what else is out there
that I should have mentioned?
So over the course of the next two weeks,
we've got to be launching the Validator app
So essentially, this provides a UI for people
who want to figure out how to get going
with running your own nodes
and then on top of all that gripping rewards,
those things are gonna be coming your way.
You can do it already using the Substrate RPC,
but I understand that it's not for everybody.
It requires a certain amount of administrative knowledge when it comes to, like, Linux boxes.
And also, you've got to understand, you know, the ins and outs and substrate.
So, we're just abstracting that away from you.
And we've got to be given to you very, very shortly.
So, like, you know, I'm literally, you know, writing out an article that says, you know, how you can do that, you know, doing the tunneling properly, et cetera.
That's going to be coming uh your way very very
soon um and other than that uh we got our documentation out so you know i cannot count
the number of hours that you know like we've been reading through that documentation quite
honestly if somebody you know like woke me up in the middle of the night and say you know like
page 62 what it says i can't tell you the thing is that uh when you kind of like go over the same
thing over and over and over you know you kind of stop noticing certain quirks so i ask everybody here if you find
something that just doesn't click with the documentation please let us know i'm the first
person to know so that we can you know adjust it so that you know everybody's journey you know
getting on board and started with fire change got to be a lot more pleasant um so that's essentially
the kind of like long spiel that I wanted to say in terms
of the things that we got over there, guys. Did I miss
anything out there that is relevant?
the entire product pretty well.
Everybody has a road map so they
know what's coming forward anyway.
There could be very small
changes where we'll add things.
I mean, we'll not subtract things, but there's a few things that we're working on. We might
add them, we might not add them. So that's there, but the product, that's what it is.
Utkarsh, our community hero, please, a couple of words from you and I want to know how's the vibe in the community right now
and what's your message to the community so that people can start associating even more
and what's coming up on Q3 after the testnet launch.
Yeah, thank you Prateek. Thank you, Lucas. It's really a pleasure to speak with the community.
Prateek and I do that every week.
And today is a momentous day, not only for FHIR, the company, but blockchain, the movement overall.
When we started on this mission, there were many unknowns, but we worked together across team with our community and today we are live. So what is the difference between where we are today
versus where we were, say, two months back?
So now every single person can go read the documentation, hopefully build on our blockchain, give us feedback.
Don't disappoint Pratik. Please make sure to find some mistakes. We are very, very eager for that.
Don't let Lucas have less sleepless nights. We want you to find as many mistakes as you can in the
documentation. It really helps us. And we're not just doing it for the company, but we succeed
only when, you know, the playground that we've built, other wonderful people come like yourself
and build applications on it. So our work is cut out for us. What's our focus area going to be as
a company? It's going to be five-fold first education less than one percent
of the world knows anything about blockchain so our company is really going to be focusing
on making sure that our partnerships such as with the government of india uh abu dhabi university
and a wide range of other partnerships we make sure that students young professionals developers
have the tools to build on you know on fire.org and learn the principles of blockchain
because that's where the internet is going. Second, we want to make sure that we take the community
along with us. Over the past six months, we've built out a strong community ambassador program,
college ambassador program, which basically means that we have a robust ecosystem of people who look out for us and build communities
of blockchain enthusiasts in their cities, in their universities.
I do want to take a moment to really share my heartfelt thanks to our community managers
and ambassadors in Turkey.
I hope your families are fine and they have been playing a crucial role in telling us
what we can do to help them.
So yes, it is a broader movement, our community managers and ambassadors such as folks in Turkey
have played a great role in it.
Over the months, we're going to expand this particular program so that people in every single city,
every single university have ways to build on fire.org and learn the fundamentals.
Third, we want to make sure that we have a strong feedback
loop. We want to make the process of giving feedback for you really simple. So be it any
social channels, you know, our respective email IDs, you can of course reach out to us. There will
be some changes that will disappoint you. There will be some changes that will delight you. But
you must understand that when you're trying to solve a complex problem, it's part of the pain.
We actually love negative feedback. Please feel free to send us, and if you have any constructive suggestions, we would love that even more.
Fourth, our road to mainnet, where we go from the next six months, will depend daily on how we bring ourselves together.
We personally are committed to bringing our best selves together.
But if you notice some things that we should be doing, but we aren't,
if you think that you've figured out a way to improve our consensus mechanism,
if you have some suggestions, best practice from the industry,
if you think that there are some areas that we should be looking at,
let us know because the next six months as we go from where we are today, a momentous day for the
broader industry, not just for the company. We have to do, you know, bring our 10x best sales
in the coming six months. And last importantly, don't forget to celebrate. Today is a celebration
as well. So you should all congratulate yourselves on the back.
We would not be here without the support of our investors, without the support of our community.
And this is an example of how people solve complex problems coming together.
So thank you all very much to be part of this movement. We really appreciate your support and look forward to your feedback both constructive and letting us know where we are messing up. Thank you very much.
Thanks, Upesh. Thanks a lot. That was very inspiring. I wanted to double down a little
bit on your point about especially the feedback, constructive and otherwise, we take it all on a stride.
I mean, there's been many, many instances
where we have improved as a company a lot.
There have been a lot of pivots in the company.
I'll be the first person as a founder to accept that.
And those pivots have been pretty much a result
of people letting us know that things can be done better.
Sometimes we could be a little thick.
We are fallible that way as well.
But we definitely have discussions about most of the important constructive feedback.
Also, to your point about the consensus mechanism,
which is the heart and the core of blockchain,
which is how the entire thing and why the entire thing was conceptualized.
It is a model. At the end of the day, the sustainable piece of proof of stake or proof
of fire or whatever you want to call it, relies on a model which will get more and more
decentralized with times to come. Every model basically needs improvement. No model is perfect.
So we're very, very, very okay to accept
that the way we calculate sustainability
or the sustainability score
might be a little different
from how we will calculate the score
three years from now or 30 years from now.
Because not only the model we keep on improving
with more feedback, with more data,
but also the importance of the different factors of sustainability and ESG
will definitely be changing with time.
So what's important for the environment, for the world at large right now
might not be as important in the future.
And what's not that important might become important
have totally new factors that will come into play into the field of sustainability.
So that's the complex part. It's not easy to model things that have not been factored entirely,
especially with this being such a, as I said, I'll again be the first word, first person to accept it, such a buzzword in the world. So long story short, I want to accept that this model, we might not have created a perfect model, we might never be able to create a 100% perfect model that defines sustainability.
that define sustainability. But the fact of the matter is that we want to incentivize these
practices and to start having that conversation. We want to start doing it outside of just talking.
And that first step will lead to people adding their thoughts, their expertise and getting better
and better and better. So it begins the revolution of sorts and hence the NAM50 Industrial Revolution.
I'm very, very adamant on that.
I'm very confident that we will just keep on improving,
not just because of technological factors,
but also because of the feedback that you'll be giving us
and the environment that's going to change.
So thank you, Karsh, for that.
who's sitting right beside me, to
his thoughts on the growth.
He's the chief growth officer.
It was very difficult to push him.
what are the plans in terms of
FIHR's growth in the next
Thanks, Prateek, Lucas, years. Thanks to Atik, Lucas and Muttash for setting that context for the community, users, developers.
At the onset, I would say welcome to the fifth industrial revolution. Welcome to FHIR.
So, you know, I heartily invite the entire developer community out there to come, you know, build on fire to test all the ideas which they have, you know, my mind is in the
next couple of months and it would be to empower as many ideas and startups to come and build and be part of the fifth industrial revolution.
And when I say that, we are going to be totally industry agnostic.
We invite and call upon a developer, a startup, even accelerators, incubators, investors,
to come on board with us and ensure that more
and more people build sustainable products.
And when I say that, I mean build on fire.
And when I, apart from that,
one thing which I'm very, very keenly focusing on is,
of Web2 products, Web2 applications across industries to be more sustainable? That can
be possible by building on FHIR. So it's again an invitation, a call, a shout out to people who have
built amazing products in the Web2 space to come and build on fire. To seek support from us,
this is a new setup altogether. It's a new protocol. There's going to be bugs. There's going
to be things probably which we are yet to figure out. But I'm sure that with the web 2 expertise in the last couple decades and and and you know
the unmatched power of web 3 we're going to be building a fabulous product the
future and you know as they say the best way to predict the future is to build it
so come welcome once again come build on on fire. Thank you.
Thanks, Bhuban. Thank you.
Yeah, I mean, extending a little bit of what Bhuban mentioned,
we are very keen to provide support, capital.
And when I say capital, I mean financial, relationship and human. Because the way the space has exploded in the
past eight years the financial capital has been easy I mean you hit the next
small run and you will be able to raise financial capital what you do with the
financial capital where does it pivot how does it translate into a relationship
capital human capital and hence a product?
That's where most companies fail. And it is sort of a coming of age of an industry.
I'm old enough to also remember what happened in the late 90s. It's a similar cycle.
People have been repeating it, so I'm not going to go into details of that. But what I want to do is empower as much of relationship capital and human
capital such things in addition to financial capital of people to actually be able to do
something with the money that they raise because a lot of a lot of people that have amazing ideas
cannot execute those ideas alone and you shouldn't so for the future founders out
there I always say that associate with people who are smarter than you Pratik
and I we we have always said that the third person who comes to fire the fourth
person who comes to fire should and then the fifth should be smarter than the fourth and so on and so
forth and that's how you build an organization and with the emotional intelligence you figure
out how those people work together so i employ you guys oh there's an echo there um where's that
I think it was the echo as well.
Let me just figure it out.
But I think as Pratik figures out the internet situation, I just wanted to build on top of what he was saying.
The journey, financial capital is one aspect of it. But what we do
provide along with our grant program is access to our broader ecosystem that we've built.
That includes investors, developers, and so forth. So that is a critical point. And Pratik
and I have recently been listening to a few pitches, which hopefully if his internet is back,
I think the community would be interested to know.
It was just my other connection finally deciding to latch on at the end and figure it out.
Yeah, I mean, just building on.
I mean, I have been fortunate enough to be able to see it in practice association with people who are smarter than you and have been able to understand the real power of relationship capital and human capital.
You cannot build things alone.
You cannot try to build things alone because Rome was not built in a day and wasn't built by one person.
So we'll help you as much as
possible is my point. At the end I'll just say that there's going to be an announcement very soon
about our grants program, about our incubation program. So stay tuned on that. I don't want
to spill the beans at the testnet launch uh because that that would steal good so uh there's going to be
announcements soon um and it's going to be one of the kind which has which will be supporting as i
said uh developers and startups and even for that matter existing enterprises uh to to come and build on blockchain on Web3 on fire.
On that note, Prateek, Lucas, Utkash, anything?
Yeah, we also have a special video by Prateek Gauri,
We do have some concluding thoughts.
and then we can wrap it up
and then we can conclude with Pratik Gauri
who's on a flight right now,
but he made sure to record the video for us.
So Lucas, any thoughts, any reflections
on what you're most looking forward to now
in addition to a few hours of sleep tonight, hopefully?
I just want to see what people are going to start building on it, to be honest.
You know, like I'm a technologist and this is actually, you know, what gets me going.
So ultimately, you know, I want to see, I honestly want to see, you know, like what folks are going to come back with and tell us that we need to provide.
Because ultimately, you know, those are cool things.
And like, you know, when you're just trying to kind of like, you know, add additional features,
you don't want to live in a bubble.
You want to get the feedback from, you know,
people out there, you know, from the real world and basically understand, you know,
like how we can do better what you do
because that ultimately shapes, you know,
your way of thinking about certain things.
And in the end of the day, you know, it shapes you, right?
So yeah, as I said, you know,
I'm just looking forward to the ecosystem picking up
and, you know, like people building on top of it. You know, I'm just looking forward to the ecosystem picking up and you know
like people building on top of it you know I'm just excited to be a part of it awesome
Bimin, Prateek, PD any concluding thoughts yeah I'll conclude in the end I just wanted to hear
something um I was a little bit of a confession you guys go ahead and I'll I'll I'll speak at
the end please okay perfect so yeah i mean i'll
just build off of what lucas said yeah room wasn't built in a day as prateek said um i'm very much
looking forward to how our ecosystem shapes up how we take web 2 companies and help them build
on the web 3 where the internet is going, how we grow
out the ecosystem and how we build amazing education programs that can just create a
broader pool of folks who can build on the platform.
So stay tuned for OnePrateek's adventurous announcement and for everything else.
Bivin, anything on your side?
I think the only thing lastly I would say is it's Valentine's
week. Love us as much as you can.
Well, I had a little bit of a confession
to make. It's not a confession.
We have made mistakes as fire as people everyone's
fallible we have done some things great we will make mistakes in the future and we will do great
things in the future so my invitation is for the community is to make sure let's make all the
mistakes together as a family and let's make all the amazing decisions uh together as a family as well because
the fifth intersolution is about people it's about profits with purpose so if we lose the
family we lose the purpose so for me it's the crux of my point is, let's all do this together.
And these guys have been working with me.
I'm a kind of a person who cannot do things alone.
I always need to have a plethora of people who help me out.
who helped me out because as I said everyone's fallible and my whole point
Because as I said, everyone's fallible.
with with this with this company is to create I don't over the overuse the word
family all the time but this is an extended team fire is not a few dozen
people fire is a few thousand people right now,
Let's make sure that we hit the goal
of impacting a billion people.
And we'll not stop until that happens.
Please come and build on us.
I'll see you next week again on the call.
With that said, let's play Gauri's video.
He was very excited to record it
sadly couldn't come because he had a flight conflicting right now uh please a message from
the co-founder hi everybody so the most awaited testnet launch is happening today um i am very
grateful to all of you for all the support that you guys have extended to us and the team has put in a lot of
hard work in building firechain the product the test that is live i would highly encourage all of
you to please try the testnet deploy smart contracts build on top of fire as you know
it's the only sustainable blockchain in the world that we're trying to build.
And we would love to get your opinion.
If something goes wrong on the testnet, please write to us and we'd love to do all the corrections before we finally go to the mainnet.
So in the next few months, you know, a lot of the roadmap I think you would have already seen on the website is going to go live we would expect some lot of projects built on top of fire and we would like
to make all the corrections or any mistakes that we might have done in building the product we'd
like to correct all of them in the next few months before we finally go to the mainnet stage
again i would like to thank all of you the investor community for supporting us
i would like to also thank the developer community for showing great interest to build on top of us and now is the time to actually build and tell us what's wrong what's right so that we can make all
the necessary changes as we go to the mainnet uh thanks again on that note let it begin uh we'll launch very shortly let's download the extension use it
try to break it i'll see you guys soon thanks everyone thanks lucas thanks thanks everyone
bye everyone thanks everyone
