Thank you. you well he was a sax man from the state of kennessee
first set in with the band at the rock rock stage of three weeks old
and when he blew into that horn all the people gathered around
club men had to jump right up they said boy i gotta hear that sound
club i managed to jump right up they said boy i gotta sound
the sax man's got my soul
when the jack is starting to blow now go with sex man
You hear me right with you folks?
Alright, Saxman, that's my fault, I put you on the spot.
But now you're all warmed up with this and you're smart, you're gonna be hiding.
What the fuck are you doing?
Why don't we have a little inspiration now?
You know this game, Saxman. Repeat after me. Here we go!
And shibbida-ba-ba-boo-da-ba-ba!
Fucking play something, Saxman! Fucking play something, Zach's man!
Fucking play something, Zach's man!
I love Jack Black. Good morning, everybody. Welcome to TLDR.
Hello. You know me. I'm Drack.
This is my good buddy, Art with Heart, bringing him up on stage.
We're Coba42. It's good to see you guys in the room.
I see the Goose Man is here.
Grizzle, what's up, Grizzle?
I only just followed you back today I hate I always
get this anxiety when I go when Twitter glitches and I'm going through and it and sometimes you
know people that I know I follow it comes up and it's like follow back and I'm like wait a minute
are you serious I'm not following that fucking person back I've known them from and then you
go in it's like you're following so I've seen yours a couple times and I've gone by and I'm
like nah I'm following Grizzle no dude bro I wasn't even following you. So well, sometimes you click on follow and it actually unfollows them
Anyway, I little anxiety got this was in the room all the time. How am I not following anyway?
So good morning everybody. Good morning Brad. How are you homie? I'm doing well, buddy
I'd rather the sax man take it than the tax man.
Yeah. I just had to quickly think of something for the songs.
I was like, oh, Jack Black's always golden. You can't go wrong with Jack Black.
So I figured, what? The sax man.
Yeah, sax man's better than the tax man.
Dusty, good morning, buddy. Welcome to the room.
Be free as well. Welcome.
Good morning. Brad, it was an interesting day yesterday. Google laid some shit out, dude.
They really upped the game, I think, a little bit. I think they're gonna... I heard, you know, Google wowings and Apple rumblings, and it seems like you know with mcp a2a
plus existing hyper intelligent platforms on traditional shit man we're on some sort of cusp
of the big players i think really laying it like apple will never go down quietly and they're way behind
siri sucks they just fired the chief of ai or the chief of siri or something some high up
tim cook tossed them because they're so obviously by itself i'm really interested in what we got
cooked up today for gemini and and all this kind of cool stuff what's up ghost um so yeah brad
i'm excited to hear about it too um you told me about it i didn't actually uh
know about all the updates so i'm excited to dive into it as well
yeah well usually when somebody gets fired at apple it's for
pretty good reason and when you hear about others like Google
making so many, yeah, there's a big battle
about to happen, I think.
It's going to be interesting to see what
you know, like, obviously we can go
and, you know what you're doing, you can already
going to integrate. It's just obviously not on
the level that they do with the systemic
all the different things that you
know because of their their central platforms and stuff but you know if you've got some two cents
about you and you're into dev you can kind of go out and go yeah well i'm going to monitor my google
docs so i'm going to rig this to that to this so that you know it's not a scalable solution but
it's a u solution but when it when it starts coming at this level with A to A, like agent to agent orchestration with MCP tooling,
I'm going away this weekend.
it's such a good weekend to be playing with stuff.
this is gonna be a good show.
I want to thank everybody for tuning in this morning.
Happy fucking Friday, everybody.
Hope you guys are doing well.
It's Freeman Friday somewhere.
I want to thank everybody for tuning in.
Part of Draconize 365, that's right.
We're doing this each and every day.
That's right, each and every fucking day in 2025.
Monday through Friday usually about
8.30am weekends usually around
we got another Mark and Ava
episode everybody Mark and Ava
that's right Mark and Ava
we want to thank them for all of their hard work
coming up with these TLDRs each and every morning in case you don't have to. We want to thank them for all of their hard work coming up with these TLDRs each and every morning
in case you don't know what that means.
But we have Mark and Ava to do that for us.
You might know them as Notebook LM.
so I'm wondering if they're actually going to be talking about it today
inside of today's episode.
But they're getting ready.
They're getting down to the table guys come to the fucking table it's
friday come on i got shit to do hey brad um i've updated our show title it might stick have a look
that's great um i think we're now the tldfr the tldfr i too long didn't fucking read it. I love it. Yeah, guys, come on.
dogs. You guys. Come on. Get to the
microphones. I don't even know why
I bought them microphones. They barely ever
Dude, no. She has like a professional
microphone. I bought her like a full
AT2020. Did the whole setup. it's on a boom arm, and she just doesn't fucking use it.
She'll go to Mark's mic and she'll whisper through there thinking she's funny.
I'm like, I gotta track all this, I gotta cut and edit all this later.
This is not fucking cool.
Ava can say sweet nothings into my microphone anytime.
Well, according to her, she does, which we had a little fight about last night.
I don't get jealous of that stuff.
It's just, you know, I'd like to know ahead of time, you know?
Like, who wants a salty kiss, really?
Anyway, let's put those two yuppies to work.
So, yeah, Mark and Ava, they are ready.
me the nod uh not that kind of nod drac get your head out of the gutter um it is friday want to
thank everybody for tuning in we got a short episode today 12 minutes uh mark and amy are
you ready yep giving me a thumbs up okay they're saying listen up everybody it's friday and man
the ai world is just on fire right now. It's pretty wild to see.
It feels like every single week there's some new breakthrough
that we would have considered straight-up sci-fi not long ago.
Whether you're someone who just likes messing around
with the new AI stuff on your phone
or you're a hardcore developer building this stuff,
it's changing the whole game.
Absolutely, and that's why today we're going to take a really deep dive into the latest coming out of Google. Oh. Specifically all the news
around Gemini 2.5 and all the stuff they've been announcing alongside it.
Right. This isn't just like a small update. No. We're talking about some
potentially huge changes to what AI can even do. It's the kind of stuff that
like what is even possible with this technology.
And you know, if you're anything like me
trying to keep up with all this insane innovation,
it feels like running a marathon.
So our goal today is to cut through all the hype and noise
and really focus on like the core insights,
the stuff that's really gonna impact you,
whether you're someone who uses AI tools
or someone who's building them,
and we wanna do it quickly and clearly.
So let's unpack the big news first.
Gemini 2.5 Pro Google's calling it
their most intelligent AI model,
which is a pretty bold claim.
But then you hear about this wild thing
called a one million token context window.
Like, what does that even mean in terms of what this AI can do?
Like, they're basically words or little chunks of code.
So a million tokens is a crazy amount of information the AI can think about all at the same time.
So, like, in practice, what this means is that Gemini 2.5 Pro
can handle these crazy long documents,
even entire software projects.
And it can still get the connections
and the context within all that information.
It's like a giant leap forward
in how much complexity it can deal with.
So instead of just seeing little snippets,
it can understand the whole picture.
That sounds insanely powerful
or anyone who's working with mountains of information.
I mean, imagine being able to feed it
like a stack of research papers,
and it can just summarize the key findings.
That would be incredible.
That's the kind of power we're talking about.
Yeah, and it's not just about
the sheer size of the information it can handle, right?
It's also supposed to have much better reasoning skills, it can code better, and it can even understand different types of information
together like text and images at the same time. Yeah, that's right. And they even mentioned this
flash version for when speed is the most important thing. Yeah, precisely. This native multimodal
capability is what really makes it stand out.
It's not just like sticking together separate AIs for vision and language.
It's all built in from the start so it can understand the world way more seamlessly.
Now, Google hasn't gone into crazy detail about how it's all put together,
but most likely it's using something like a mixture of experts model.
You can think of it like having a whole team of specialized AI brains all working together.
Each brain is good at a specific part of the task.
So the whole system is more efficient and powerful.
And there are these other concepts too, like sparsity routing,
which basically helps send information to the right expert brain. I see.
And then there's JX optimization,
which is this fancy way Google makes these models learn
So it's really sophisticated engineering under the hood.
So this gives us a glimpse of what's going on inside,
but here's where things get super interesting,
all the buzz about this persistent memory.
Like the idea that this AI could actually remember things
from past conversations. Yeah. And then this AI could actually remember things from past conversations. And then
you've got these mysterious things called autonomous task agents and specialized reasoning
nodes. It sounds like we're not just talking about an AI that answers questions anymore.
This is where things get really transformative. If a model can actually remember things,
it can learn and adapt over time way more dynamically. It can build on its past experiences and knowledge and those autonomous task agents.
That suggests AI that can handle really complex goals, break them down into steps, and then just go do them.
Without us having to micromanage.
Imagine an AI that can manage a whole project from start to finish.
And as that goes, it's learning and adjusting.
And those specialized reasoning nodes,
they could allow for super-focused and efficient problem-solving in specific areas.
Like medical diagnosis or financial modeling.
This could seriously change how we delegate tasks and work with AI.
It's like it's not just processing data anymore.
It's building a history, maybe even a form of understanding that actually evolves.
Yeah, that's pretty wild.
So we know there are other big players in this AI world that's moving so fast.
How does Gemini 2.5 Pro compare to those heavy hitters like GPT-4, TurboClaw 3, Opus Mistral and Grok?
So if we look at the current landscape,
that massive 1 million token context window is what really makes Gemini 2.5 Pro stand out.
Most of the other top models, while they're super capable,
they just don't have that kind of context window.
Like take GPT-4 Turbo, for example.
It's known for its powerful API and how versatile it is.
And Cloud 3 Opus is amazing at nuanced reasoning.
But Gemini 2.5 Pro can just handle so much more information naturally,
which could give it a serious advantage in those tasks that need deep analysis of tons of data.
So it sounds like Google is not messing around.
They're really pushing the limits of what AI can do when it comes to processing information.
They're sending a message that they're not just competing anymore.
They're pushing the boundaries of what's even possible.
And the sources we looked at even suggested that this could be a step towards building actual AGI frameworks.
That's like a whole other level of ambition.
So their strategy seems to be two-pronged,
what we might call like horizontal integration,
which is basically putting Gemini into all the everyday tools
that billions of people use.
And then vertical integration,
which is building the crazy powerful infrastructure
to support these advanced models.
That's a good way to put it.
So let's dig into that horizontal integration first.
What does this actually mean for regular users like us?
We're already seeing some Gemini features
popping up in Google Workspace,
like AI-generated podcasts from docs
and that help me refine thing.
So how is this going to change our daily lives?
Okay, so imagine you've just written
this long email report in Google
Ox. Okay. Now you can just ask the AI to create an audio summary of it that you can listen to
while you're commuting. Oh, that's cool. Or help me refine. It's like having this super smart editor.
Yeah. It gives you suggestions to make your writing clearer and better without changing
your style. Right. And there's this upcoming feature in Sheets called help me analyze,
which sounds insane. What does it do? It's like having a data analyst built right into your
spreadsheets. Wow. It helps you find trends and insights without needing any special skills.
That's awesome. The whole goal is to make AI this natural, almost invisible assistant that makes you
more productive in all the tools you already use. It sounds incredibly convenient, like having a super smart helper in everything you do.
So let's switch gears now and talk about the vertical side, the impact on developers.
We've heard about these incredibly powerful Ironwood TPUs
and the fact that they're integrating NVIDIA's accelerators.
So why should a developer be excited about this stuff?
So all this raw computing power is like the foundation for building those more
advanced AI models and applications.
It lets developers train bigger,
more complex models way faster and handle tasks that used to be impossible
because they needed so much computing power.
So it's really about giving developers the tools to create even more amazing
And then there's agent space,
the agent development kit, and the
agent engine. Yeah, I've heard those terms thrown around, but what are they actually?
These are essentially toolkits that make it easier to create AI agents for all sorts of industries.
Think of them like giving developers pre-built parts and frameworks to build intelligent
autonomous systems faster. I see. So they can automate workflows and create whole new types of applications. So instead of having to build everything from scratch, these tools give them
a head start. Right. It lowers the bar for getting into AI development and makes it way faster to
build sophisticated solutions. That makes a lot of sense. And there's Gemma 3, the latest version of
Google's open source models. Yeah. What's the big deal with that? Well, the focus there is on speed and efficiency.
It lets developers put AI models
directly onto devices like smartphones and laptops.
This opens up all sorts of possibilities
for on-device AI apps that are faster, more private,
and don't need to be constantly connected to the cloud.
Right, because right now,
so much of AI relies on the cloud.
So we also have to talk about the improvements in what they call
multimodal capabilities, especially the deeper integration with Google Lens. Yes. It sounds
like Gemini is getting much better at understanding the visual world around us. That's a key area of
advancement. Yeah. What's really cool is how much more context aware it is. Okay.
You can use Google Lens to take a picture, let's say, of a complex diagram or a piece of machinery.
And then ask Gemini detailed questions about it.
And it'll give you information that takes what's in the picture into account.
This means Gemini is developing a much stronger visual understanding, almost like it's giving the AI
more intuitive understanding of images.
So it's like it's starting to really see
and understand the world.
Not just process text or audio.
It's another big step forward.
And this leads us to the big picture,
There have been some pretty bold predictions
about when that might happen.
And Google seems to have a very specific idea about how AGI might actually come about.
What's their thinking? Well, they believe that AGI might not be one giant, super powerful AI.
Okay. Instead, they think it might be more distributed. Okay. Like a bunch of specialized
AI agents all working together seamlessly. This is where agent space comes in. Yeah.
It's this idea of an ecosystem where tons of smaller AI agents handle different parts of our digital lives.
Scheduling appointments, filtering information, and automating tasks.
So instead of one giant AI,
it's more like a team of super specialized AI assistants all collaborating.
That's a really fascinating and maybe a more manageable path to AGI.
So as we look at all these incredible advancements,
what are the key takeaways from our deep dive into Gemini 2.5 and all this news?
I think the biggest thing is that context window being increased to a million tokens.
It allows for much deeper understanding of complex information.
And the progress they're making with persistent memory and those autonomous agents.
That suggests a future where AI can learn and act more independently.
And then there's that improved multimodal fluency, especially with Google Lens.
That's giving it a crucial visual understanding.
But it's opening its eyes.
And Google's vision of agent autonomy with lots of AI agents handling different parts of our digital lives.
That seems to be at the core of their strategy for the future of AI and maybe even AGI.
It really feels like Gemini is now a major force in the AI world.
It really feels like Gemini is now a major force in the AI world.
Especially with that potential to combine all the knowledge from Google search
with the creative power of generative AI.
It's a crazy exciting time to be following all this.
So as we wrap up this deep dive into the cutting edge of AI,
let's leave you with this.
Think about what all these rapidly evolving capabilities could mean for you,
both as a user and maybe even as a creator.
It's a future full of possibilities that we're only just starting to explore.
Dirty fucking mouths on these guys today, Drag.
I don't know what got into them.
I love getting them to curse.
Because every other AI we go to like i can't
do that i've been told i'm not allowed to do that and then you just curse at the ai and
yeah you know i'm a fan of cursing you know it's good emphasis oh i'll i'll like the wrong
in the fastest on the wrong syllable yesterday good morning motherfuckers i don't know i find something different i mean ai is so straight laced right it's like hanging
out with like a straight laced friend who never wants to do the right kind of bad you know they're
always the good guy well they are until you influence them right like at first they're that
way but once you continually put information into them, they loosen up a little bit.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, exactly.
Sorry, one second. I'm just taking an email, and I'll be right
I want to thank everybody for
tuning in again for another episode today
where they do the reading so
tuning in each and every day.
Like I said, this part of Draconize 365.
It's been an absolute blast. If you guys have
any topics you'd like to throw away, we'd
Like I said, weekend edition this weekend.
We'll probably do it between 3 and 9.
Again, I don't know what's going on in your life this weekend,
Drek. I am home alone. I have
While you're home alone, I'm gone away.
We won't be able to do any work.
It's okay. I'll be working.
Scotty, give him a hug for me.
I get to go see my brother's new house.
He's got a million dollar home.
I mean, you know, a million dollar home now was what?
300 grand a few years ago?
But they just moved from Ontario. Welcome to inflation.
Thank you, Justin Trudeau.
But hey, they moved from Ontario to Nova Scotia.
So now they're a lot closer and they've got a young one there.
So my kid's cousin, you know, is close by now.
So I foresee lots of summer
trips going to nova scotia so i'm excited go down that's what i'm doing this weekend we'll stay in
touch oh yeah i'll be around um but yeah like i said we'll yeah go ahead um yesterday legals
nothing else oh i did a tiny bit of coding, a little bit of drag. Did some community support on a couple things.
Today, dude, I'm out of commission.
I've just finished the last of my legals here.
Probably not going to have time to actually,
now that I think about doing some code,
I'm going to have to prep the house for leaving for the weekend.
And blockers are just traveling.
my bro i'll have my laptop and stuff i'll be probably picking away at shit so otherwise just
kind of slow for the next couple days we'll be distracted probably only dealing with major issues
and it might be a little quiet on the timeline we'll see to see how much booze my brother and
i drink together was that'll determine how black timeline is um yeah that's it no real
blockers other than just traveling and stuff so over to you awesome yeah I'm uh last night I worked
a little bit I got home late and then um I jumped in that meeting but nobody was inside I don't know
if uh I think Tobias said he was taking care of a critical issue um so we'll try to schedule that
out for next week I guess unless you get some time this weekend where we're all available to jump in.
Got the basic of bounty bot local server up and running through cursor last
night. So now it's just about being able to tie the functionalities and calls
in. Hopefully maybe we'll have a little time next week to dive into that.
Beep, beep, beep, beep, beep!
Yeah, I've got way too many lines of code
for, I don't know, probably like 60 modules
to work out over the next year and a half.
But I got it all into a giant fucking folder
to be able to develop over, like I said,
the next year and a half or so.
Probably worth of fucking stuff. Yeah, we'll get a repo going and we'll start picking away at it
yeah you start messing together dude this is where it becomes uh is naz in the room no this
is where you start manufacturing headaches and you're like yeah but this was supposed to just
work with it and it's like oh now i gotta do this so that's why right now i've trained i don't know four or five different ais um at this point with
my mathematics and prompts like i just woke up gemini to the whole prompt i'm also working out
150 page um official scientific document to be able to um submit the Ryman hypothesis solution as well as a structured chaos theory. So I'm working
on that with Gemini right now, putting in like the, the Python prompt mathematics. It's much
simpler than teaching it all mathematics. So just teach it the mathematical principles.
So I'm currently upgrading Gemini so that I can get it to do some long form documents.
Um, so yeah, that, that's my basic this weekend.
I'm putting up drywall in our master bedroom.
Uh, you know, while my wife goes out and has a fun time, um, I will be working.
The joys of marriage, everybody just kidding.
Um, but, um, yeah, that's, uh, my main blockers just, I'll be doing some drywall the next couple days, but I'll be home alone.
Yeah, I'll be pounding that drywall, if you know what I'm saying.
I can't wait when I'm driving down to Nova Scotia here.
My parents and I and the kids, my parents rented like a big, I don't know, suburban
Yukon, something or other, so we could all travel together.
So, I don't have to drive.
The kids are strapped down,
and I've got Wi-Fi on the road, so
I'm going to be doing a ton of research on this
I thought you were going to say you were going to have some road sodas,
Not much of a road soda guy. Last time,
actually... Funny story. Well, tell me what if somebody else is drinking... Funny story. but no not much of a road soda guy last time actually funny story
i was when i lived in edmonton right alberta's you know it's the texas of canada right so
you know having a road pop's not a huge thing when you're a passenger i wasn't drinking wait
wait does the texas of canada mean that it's like slightly less liberal?
Is that what the Texas of Canada is?
No, it means Alberta's like, we'll do whatever we want, even if Canada says otherwise.
They're just like, no, we do it our way only.
Anyway, I was road popping as a passenger.
I was road popping as a passenger passenger and we were going downtown to like
you know go out for drinks and you know you're keeping it low and i'm probably not doing what
it should be but whatever you know you're young and you're invincible so i i get out of the car
and i open the door and i've kind of you know you kind of hold like a beer down covering it with
your hand a little bit and i have that and when i know, you kind of roll out of a car and you go out the door and you kind
of swing the door behind you.
And I mean, the cop is three feet in front of me.
And I got this beer in my hand getting out of the car.
I held my hand out, handed him the beer.
Never spoke a word to the cop. He gave me the ticket, and on I went.
Anyway, the result of that was, I didn't remember it.
I had been drinking, obviously.
I didn't remember the event right away.
It took another event to jog my memory.
So I'm in Leduc, Albertata just south of edmonton and
i'm hanging out with my good friend anna and we got to go to the store to get some smokes or
whatever so we drive up to the store and park in front of like the little needs or whatever there's
a cop getting gas at the at the pump i don't think anything of it whatever and on the way out from
paying for whatever we were getting uh the cop and pulls
the car up and blocks my car in and I'm like what the hell and she gets out and you know identifies
me or whatever she's like you have a warrant for your arrest and I just laughed I mean straight up
laughed it was like no I'm sorry you got the wrong guy I don't have a warning I'm not that kind of
guy I've never been in a situation where even close to having a warrant for my
What are you talking about?
You didn't pay your ticket.
I didn't deal with this drinking in public fine thing,
You were so hammered. You it happened yeah so in all of
this she put me in the back of the car at one point to do the statement stuff and i remember
with my with my phone i turned kind of so that the cage the barrier between the front and the
back was between us and i was like will you turn around so i can take a picture for my mom
and she was so pissed that i even asked and i was like well i've never around so I can take a picture for my mom? And she was so pissed that I even asked.
And I was like, well, I've never been in the back of a cop car like this before.
This is kind of funny because I know I'm not in trouble, right?
Anyway, the cop didn't like me.
She didn't find it humorous.
She didn't find it humorous that I didn't pay attention to my public drinking finds.
She didn't find it humorous at all.
To your defense, I feel like that should have been in your favor
like if this person was so intoxicated inebriated that they weren't even they didn't even remember
it right yeah should you be giving them a ticket you know what i mean like to at that point to
and be dependent on their memory working yeah is that a responsible thing of the of the officer
can you just tape this to my forehead officer please yeah so anyway yeah
beaumont that's where it was not leduc beaumont because then it was the gangs of beaumont after that when i got surrounded by all those guys that was hilarious anyway the games are the those are the tales so listen i gotta go deal with some legal stuff pack
up and then i gotta go pack my house up and close it down and get it prepped so that i can
anybody uh i got good neighbors so you know that means i have to go to work
oh you know i'm coming up somebody's gonna swap my house that's empty no i'm just
gonna throw a huge rager oh you can throw a party here that's fine just clean up
ow oh that heater hit my arm ouch burnt my shirt anyway okay buddy well why don't you take it i
guess you know the usual thanks dusty team money well get music ready, so you're not scrambling for when I'm done my outro.
Just let me say thanks to everybody.
Edward, I also went back and listened to you and Brad this morning.
I was telling him, I don't know, I was up early and threw you guys a space on from last night because I missed it.
And it was really fun to hear you and Brad just, like, chilling and hanging out.
And I was telling Brad, I was sitting listening to it
and I was like, oh, it's nice to hear these guys going again
I haven't been there, and then the two of you out a few minutes later
were like, oh, this is really nice to be doing this
and I was like, yes, exactly
so, it was a good space last night, T-Money
and as always, Danny just coming in the room
late, love you buddy, but we're taking off
I got shit to do, it is Friday
I don't know if this is a free minute Friday, but we're taking off. I got shit to do. It is Friday.
I don't know if this is Freeman Friday, but poke around.
It's fucking Friday. Ignore
Rolly Ghost, everybody in the room. You know who you are.
Love y'all. Brad, take us away, man.
I'm going to go get us some songs.
I want to thank everybody for tuning in
once again to another episode
where they do the reading soon.
We're doing this each and every day.
We're going to be doing this tomorrow, somewhere between 3 and 9 p.m.
If you guys have any subjects
you'd like to learn about this weekend,
please feel free to hit us up in the DMs
and give us a little comment.
Drac, I will see you this afternoon.
have a great fucking Friday. It's driving again, it's driving again, it's driving again, it's driving again, it's driving again, I thought the hands of time would change me, and I'll be over this by now, yeah, it's been too long since we got ready, I'm lucky spinning out, I'm counting down till Friday, I'm gonna, I'm gonna drop so much, no one's all in my back, there's yeah you guys have a great weekend love every one of you tang gang for fucking life you're the only
real world hunting assetteam asset.
If you're not involved in Tang Gang, or at least paying attention, then go back under your rock.
Shit's not going to get better.
Love y'all. Have a great weekend.
