my whole family rips, no foe-boe, next time I'm in, well, welcome, welcome, I realized that
I didn't put the edited track on there today, so my bad on that one, just wanted to have
a little run this town on there, lol, but yes, thank you guys for all jumping into the
town hall, we got a lot of news updates, events to cover, please share and retweet the space,
just for vision, and like just for everybody to know what's happening in developer DAO,
definitely want to invite everybody to speak that's going to speak, so we have our co-host,
Kempster, which is our ops lead, and we have all of them waiting to accept his speaker request,
on so, so I'm going to go ahead and pass the mic to Kempster to give us a quick overview
of what's happening on the agenda today, I am Billy Jitsu, I believe the last community
manager standing, and so let's have a blast guys, here we go.
Sup sup Billy, thank you, yeah, welcome everyone, it's nice to see everyone here, as Billy was
saying, we've got loads of stuff that's been happening recently, it's all been quite busy,
kind of difficult to, to keep the announcements down to a sort of a manageable, a manageable
amount, particularly on Twitter, but today, we're going to be kind of looking back at the
last month, like big success around Mina Hackathon, lots of work went into that, lots of amazing
projects were submitted, so some cool statistics, and info to share from that, sort of quick refresh
on, also an update on, sorry, on Press Start Capital Fellowship program that we ran, that's been
going super well, huge thanks to the Press Start team, and then probably quite a big update
on a governance proposal that's in flight at the moment that's had lots of contributions
from various people across the community and feedback from members that we want to try and shed
some light on and explain and take feedback and questions on, and then kind of looking forward
into the next month or quarter, kind of like what's coming up right now and the kind of
things that we're hoping to do, kind of this month through to kind of August and September.
So yeah, it's all really, really exciting stuff. If there's anything sort of pressing on your
mind that you want to hear about, please reply in the space, Fred, and then we'll try and make
sure we have time at the end to answer those and to bring anyone up who wants to sort of get on stage
and ask any questions directly. Back over to you, Bill.
Awesome, awesome. Am I covering the Mina Hackathon success? Is that my move?
Okay, awesome. So, yes, for those that don't know, I help run the Mini Hackathons.
This has been our most successful hackathon as of yet. We had 30 submissions for the Mina Hackathon,
which was super, super awesome. The last one was 12. Got a lot of new members.
For those that don't know, for community management, like my goal is like new blood.
I want builders building in developer DAO. It's literally in the name of developer we should be developing.
So I'm all about building. I'm in the trenches. I love, you know, messing around with SDKs.
I love hackathons. So that's kind of why we did our own thing.
A lot of people ask, how do I get into DevDAO? How do I participate in DevDAO?
And like the best no cost way to get in there is to participate in the Mini Hackathon, right?
Like every month we're shooting for a Mini Hack that's no longer than a week.
This one was a little bit special because it was the 4th of July.
How un-American of me to realize that we were submission dates was on a holiday.
But, you know, we extended it one more day. And so really, really good.
I think we're waiting to hear back from Mina because there was a lot of good submissions in there.
So they're still kind of like debating which one's going to take the prizes for their first, second and third.
But the code has been distributed. Am I correct on that, Kemp?
I'll wait for him to come back. Maybe he's so in shock about all the submissions.
I was doing something on my phone and I couldn't figure out how to get back to the UI.
Yeah, the code went out earlier today. So as Billy was saying, like welcoming builders into the DAO.
If you weren't a member and you submitted, you are now a member and have access to the Discord.
So welcome, welcome. And we can't wait to hang out with you.
So definitely check out the Guild XYZ to join the Discord server and keep up to date on, you know,
what the announcements from Mina protocol is going to be for the winners of that.
And then that USDC and their Mina tokens.
But I mean, that's been my number goal.
It's like just getting builders to come into the DAO where there's low barrier of entry.
But I just want to see that you're actually out there building something like I'm the guy that says,
don't give it away, show something on it.
And that could be something like a blog post, like technical blog.
We're not taking like full on coders or a starter kit.
Like if you don't feel like you can create a brand, you know, brand new DAP,
you know, protocol or something and you feel comfortable with a starter kit,
there's an opportunity for you.
So like just creating multiple opportunities for developers at different levels in their developer,
you know, journey to be able to come into the DAO, meet that network, contribute,
and just get interconnected and just, you know, hang out with me if that sounds cool.
You know, that's pretty much.
I really love the way this hackathon came out.
I felt like it was a really, really great success.
And I look forward to, you know, working on the next one with you guys
and then outreaching to even more teams that are existing outside of the DAO.
I'm going to pass their press start capital over to Kemster, I hope.
Just to follow on from what Billy was saying,
if anyone's got any feedback on how these hackathons are going,
like things they really enjoy, maybe things that they think we should consider doing
or different ways of kind of organizing the hackathon.
Like, please let Billy know or me or anyone else.
And we'll keep trying to improve these and make them as good as we can for you guys.
Just a side note really quick before you get started.
My feelings don't get hurt or I have to get in.
So like if you have a real legit comment or anything, tell me.
I take critique very well.
Any and all feedback is good feedback.
So yeah, the next thing we wanted to update on is our Press Start Capital
and Developer DAO fellowship.
So if you missed this, the fellowship, the Press Start Capital team have been brilliant.
They set up a program where folks applied to enter the fellowship.
Those that were successful received a 15K or $15,000 SAFE grant.
So it's a grant that converts equity if the projects get follow on funding.
And then they were supported over seven weeks for a mentorship program.
And it's been going super, super well.
Feedback from the guys and girls at Press Start Capital has been really, really positive.
Feedback from the fellows has been really positive.
And it's been great to see that kind of be so successful.
We're hoping to release content out of the back of this fellowship program.
So if you weren't on the fellowship, a lot of the insight from some pretty heavy hitters
who were the mentors in the program, we'd like to try and elevate that and share it
as either written content or videos and potentially some interviews with some of the folks involved in the program too.
So you can also sort of benefit from, or everyone can benefit from,
kind of like awesome knowledge and awesome support that was shared during that program.
It's our hope that we run these quarterly.
So if you're scheming on a project idea, maybe you submitted to the MENA Hackathon
and you would like to work on the project more seriously.
We're hoping to run these regularly throughout the year, ideally quarterly,
but we're just trying to figure out the details at the moment.
But very, very excited to see what comes out of the fellowship on demo day.
And I'll just pin a tweet to the space in a second, which is kind of highlighting the projects.
And also for demo day, there's going to be venture capital investors and accelerator programs watching the pictures.
So if you're in that space and you are interested in hearing these pictures from these teams,
then please RSVP to that and come along and check it out and support the awesome builders
who have done such hard work throughout that kind of last seven weeks or so.
Thanks to everyone involved.
It's been, it's been awesome.
And I'll throw it back to you, Bill, if you want to introduce the next step.
So there is going to be a proposal for the way developer DAO kind of functions
with the new model for labs, agency and academy.
Me being like one of the people that will be kind of directly affected by that would be the focus community on there.
So originally with, with developer DAO, we want to be able to have a lot of people to contribute and,
you know, be participating in the DAO at the community level.
And in theory, it works pretty good.
But now, as we see, I'm the last community manager standing, so to say.
So we, we're going to try to structure it a little bit different in where I can theoretically be a community manager lead
and then help guide other members to, to see what opportunities they can have, like leading vibes or, or having, you know, local community workshops or sharing screens.
I actually have been working with praise and have it working on a separate discord to make sure that we have praise working a few bugs that we got to figure out.
But for the most part, it is working.
So for those that don't know what praise is, it's a way to give kudos to somebody that kind of helped you out in the DAO or has done something positive towards the DAO.
So if you had a question about, you know, ethers.js and someone helped you out, you know, shoot them some praise.
Like, hey, he helped me out.
And, you know, in the end of the month or whatever quarter we use, we can have a way to reward those members that have been contributing to the DAO and, and, you know, give someone opportunities.
In my own personal experience, people get hyped up for something in the very beginning.
And then as the quarters or the seasons come to an end, people get burnt out.
So sometimes we need new fresh blood and that needs to happen a little bit sooner than later at times.
Being able to get different community contributors to come in from time to time, get their feet wet and see what it's like to contribute for developer DAO.
I theoretically would be the one that you'd want to talk to for community if this proposal passes as well.
As for the other details about the other parts of the DAO, I will pass over to Kemp.
But, you know, definitely reach out if you're interested.
Again, I've been looking who's been active as of late, like who's reached out, who's been watching the community.
So those are the people that I'll be reaching out to to begin with.
But that doesn't mean that you don't have opportunities.
I'm just looking to see who's been around as of late and then we'll work from there.
And I'm going to pass it over to Kemp to finish this off.
I think Kemp got disconnected.
So he's coming back up again.
Sorry, mate. My phone had a moment and I dropped it.
So I just finished up the community stuff just in case you lost it.
So it's kind of like we're on between A and B on the itinerary.
Awesome. Cool. Thank you.
Yeah. So like I didn't hear exactly what you covered.
So forgive me later or I'll apologize later if I'm kind of rehashing ground.
But I'll pin the proposal to the space.
There's some really core motivations behind this and lots of people's inputs, conversations, feedback has gone into this before it's got to the forum.
But if you haven't been involved in any of those conversations, like we would love to hear the feedback.
We need it in order to make sure that this really works for the community.
But from from my perspective, the kind of the core things about this maybe like slight redirection of how we how we operate is to really bring the focus squarely back on the community.
We maybe became a little bit partner heavy in the way that we were doing things over the last quarter.
And what we really want to do is focus on the community, deliver content on topics that they want and that they're interested in to learn in the DAO, provide them like opportunities to increase their impact in the space, which is squarely in our in our mission.
And also find ways to elevate members say hackathons fellowship programs.
These are great, but there's also people in the DAO who are helping others who are building things outside of these programs that we really want to be able to elevate to.
And the second point is really about trying to make it stable and like sustainable as a as an organization to make sure that we can continue moving towards this mission.
And there's been some changes that kind of to the model business model, shall we say, that the DAO operates under and also how we how we break down roles and rewards say quite a lot of of impact in the proposal.
And we'd really, really love folks to to share their thoughts, positive, negative ideas, whatever comes to mind.
And hopefully, as we work more closely with the academy and the agency teams, this new direction allows us to sort of, I guess, kind of like seed fund their operations so we can start to support those areas of the DAO to be able to sort of deliver on the impact and vision that they had for the for what they're trying to do.
So we're really excited about that direction. I know I am, again, super grateful to everyone who's contributed to that conversation and really, really looking forward to also getting more rewards into the hands of members and helping us decentralize the DAO, get more people holding the token, more people participating in what we're doing.
And yeah, the future seems really, really exciting. And yeah, looking forward to to roll it out. And Billy, I'll throw it back over to you.
Yeah, definitely. I'm just going to reiterate on the community things. I'm probably the loudest one in all the meetings that like is like, well, that sucks for the community and that so I feel like I'm the shield for the community.
And sometimes I may be wrong. But sometimes when we have a partner or anything, I'm like, nobody's really going to care about that, you know, so like nobody's going to watch it.
So that kind of evolved into the community workshop that's going to evolve into workshops.
And that's where we have like developer DAO members showcasing their skills, teaching other dev, you know, dev members like stuff that would probably not be sponsored anywhere else, right?
Like we had a great workshop with Dap it Down. Like where are you going to get another workshop like that where someone that's in the trenches in the industry showing you what they're doing to get paid, right?
And then we have one this week with Thresh, which is the Chainlink hackathon winner of like how to use Docker in Web3.
I've been looking how to look up Docker for like weeks and I don't want to sit through four hours of stuff that is not pertainment to me.
So I'd rather have this one hour workshop with Thresh that might be in a two hour session, two weeks, but like something that like, wow, I can run my own validator or run my own thing on how to use Docker, really specific.
So these are the things that I'm looking for to elevate members, showcase the skills that you have.
And then now you can point, say, hey, look at my workshop. I did it for developer DAO here.
And so that's kind of the way that I've really been trying to push it.
I'm going to call it like no shills, all skills kind of thing is kind of my new slogan that I just thought of yesterday on a tweet.
So that'll be my thing because I am anti-shill. Like I know you work for this, this and this.
Those don't even know I work for API3 DAO, but like you probably don't know because I don't want to be that guy that's constantly throwing it down your throat.
But I am the plug for oracles, right? So it's one of those things of like I tread lightly and I want everybody on that workshop to like not show what you got, but show what you got, right?
So if you can walk away with some kind of like tidbit of knowledge or some skill, I'm interested in learning, right?
We need a lot of people that have a lot of different skills in different ranges.
Like we need subgraphs, we need GitHub actions, things that, you know, are hard to find or maybe assuming, you know, how to do mock testing.
There's so many things out there. So definitely keep in contact with me.
I look at this. I'm also going to post some L's right now.
Like I wanted to do the starter kits and it took a little while to take off.
I got to get the legal on there all set up and, you know, I have to tread things lightly, right?
Like I don't like initiatives that start hard and then just fizzle out fast.
I'm taking it slow and light with everything that I'm doing. So I make sure that I can stick to it.
So, you know, the community workshops have been a success. The mini hackathons have been a success.
The community likes it. I'm really going to try to push these starter kits again, especially with hackathons and, you know, ECC coming up.
What a great place and resource to have to get a couple of these starter kits so you can just fork and go.
So I'm going to try to push that a little bit more this month.
And I know last month I also mentioned about the Spanish content blogs.
I don't want to push it until I have something that actually gets paid.
So I'm waiting on that as well. So hold off on me. Bug me about it, right?
Don't be afraid. Like if you hear it on a space or I say it, I usually follow through, but sometimes it just takes time.
But I would consider that an L for me last month because it didn't happen, but because I'm waiting for proposals to pass from other sources.
So it's still in the books and I'm not trying to start any more initiatives on top of that until these get clear.
But if you got ideas, holler at me. I'm, you know, I'm pretty accessible.
I answer back pretty quick. So, you know, that's kind of my gig.
And I'm just looking to, you know, expand everybody that joins developer DAO.
We have some new blood coming in, hopefully. And that's my goal.
Like, let's elevate the blood we have.
You know, there's been some great members in developer DAO that aren't as active anymore.
And that's great. But I don't want to be like that old sports fan that's talking about Larry Bird in the Celtics and stuff.
We got new gen. We got new blood.
So let's elevate those new superstars in the DAO that can really take, can shine.
You know, I'm not stuck in the past. So let's worry about the now. Let's see who's active.
And so on the list, I think we have an update from Academy, but it doesn't look like Wollum has accepted my invite to speak.
So I'm not sure where you want to take this one, Kemp.
Can you make me co-host real quick, mate, so I can pin the announcement?
And let me try to fill in this blank space, this awkward moment of this space right here of what's happening.
I'm going to come on to the developer DAO meetup in Paris as you're becoming the co-host.
So, yeah, I'm not going to Paris, unfortunately.
So everybody else, I'm going to be FOMO-ing in on that.
But I think there's going to be a developer DAO meetup.
I think Kemp has a little bit more details now that he is the co-host.
So we'll let Mark give an update on Academy, and then we can kind of highlight what's happening in the immediate future and plans straight on.
Everybody just disregard what happened the last time.
You could have rolled with Paris.
I'm also going to be FOMO-ing that event.
But, okay, let's do Academy.
So I appreciate this new iteration of the developer DAO town hall giving space to some of the other initiatives going on.
So I'm here to give you just a quick little synopsis about what developer DAO Academy is and some forward-looking thoughts.
At its core, Academy serves the same goals as developer DAO, which is to onboard and accelerate the impact of contributors in our industry.
So the way that Academy seeks to do that is by delivering some project-focused learnings, so technical tutorials, starting with solidity and DAP development.
And the ambition is to grow from there.
So Academy has been a passion project for a good while with a small core team.
And a lot of the focus recently and leading up to now has been on, like, getting the pedagogy right, which is to say that we want all of our lessons to meet a certain level of quality.
We want them all to be predictable in certain ways.
Like, they've got โ they tell you what to expect in the lessons coming forward, what you should know already.
They've got, like, some check-in quizzes along the way, and there's a final comprehension quiz at the end, all these sorts of things.
It's the components of, like, a good, positive learning experience that we believe, anyway.
And so we've been building some of the core sort of building blocks of this platform.
And now the team is at a place where we're starting to look towards the next iteration and taking this thing a step forward.
So we've got a big redesign in the works.
There's a team member who's got something that looks really sweet in Figma that has yet to be put into motion yet.
So that's next up on our docket.
And we're also looking to โ we are currently exploring, working with some beta partners to bring some funding into the platform to support those contributors in a healthy, long-term way.
And also to feature some of the partners of developer DAO in tasteful ways in that content on the platform.
So if that sounds like you as a potential beta partner, we're looking for very collaborative and flexible folks who are interested in not just dropping off a money bag
and never hearing from you again, but are interested in getting their hands dirty and exploring how best to deliver some of this content with us, we'd love to hear from you.
I think that's about it for Academy for now.
No bombshells there, but we are excited about what the future's got for us.
I'm going to jump in and just give a shout-out to Academy for the quality of content that they're dropping out there.
As someone that always likes reading new stuff and checking out content, sometimes I read a lot of free content and I want my money back.
So shout-out to Academy on that one for actually having some really good, solid content out there.
I really look forward to checking out more.
And if time allows me and I'm not making any promises, I would love to contribute to the stuff that I have.
No shill stuff, but being in the trenches, I would love to.
It's just a matter of finding out how I'm going to figure this out in my space on there.
Anyways, Kemster, over to you about France so I can be jelly.
You can be there in spirit, mate.
And echoing what Billy said, huge shout-out to the Academy team.
A lot of energy, positive energy, care, and love has gone into that.
And it's really exciting to be working closely, trying to support them to be able to execute on that vision and the new redesign coming and hopefully build a model around it where we can get those folks sort of really well rewarded for the value they're creating for everyone.
In the future, we'll try and get other groups from the DAO up, like agency, but they weren't available this time.
So we will move on to what's coming up in the next month or quarter.
So as Billy said, for anyone who's in Paris, we're all going to be meeting up under the Eiffel Tower for a little picnic in Paris.
We were going to try and throw a party, but logistics all got a bit complicated, so it's likely that the next Vibes IRL party that we'll have will be in Istanbul.
But for Paris, we're going to bring the gang together under the Eiffel Tower for a picnic.
I'm going to post and pin the Luma invite into the threads.
There's also a Telegram chat as well that I'll put there too.
There's people in there sort of coordinating, meeting up, coordinating, creating hackathon teams, and sort of coordinating the day for the event.
So, yeah, should be really fun.
There's lots and lots of people coming.
I mentioned earlier about the press start capital.
So that demo day is coming up, I believe, on the 20th.
So keep an eye out for that.
That thread with the info is pinned in the space.
And then part of this new model is we're going to be looking for a signal from the community on the kind of topics that they really want to hear about.
So we'll probably put a tweet out in the next few days sort of asking the community what topics they would like to see the DAO sort of create content around.
To get things going, though, we're kind of just organizing a space this month for panel space on ZK.
So we'll have Angus from Mina because he has been great for the hackathon.
And then we'll have Raza from Scroll.
He's the head of DevRel there.
We'll have Tony from Polygon.
And your man, Billy, will be host.
We'll be having just a panel sort of exploring ZK, where it's at, where it's going, and answering any questions from the community.
And we'll be looking to do more of those panels all the time.
So if there's topics that you're interested in, I don't know, maybe it's crypto AI, web-free social, account abstraction.
They kind of all seem to be the hype at the moment.
Let us know, and we'll make sure that we build panel spaces and hopefully workshops around that to give you sort of really good quality content and opportunities to learn around those topics.
If anyone missed our space with Reveal a few weeks back, Reveal is a team that are building, like, infrastructure for the contribution economy, basically a trustless way of being able to share in the value created on chain.
It's a really, really cool project.
Probably the thing I like most about it is that the team are all OG, DevD, NFT minters, I think most of them.
They have opened up a beta program, early access program for their version two, and the bounties are still open.
There's 3,000 up for grabs.
I think it closes out next Friday.
So I'll pin it to the top of the space.
It will go in the newsletter.
Keep an eye out for that.
It's a really, really cool team, cool product.
And it's a nice opportunity to kind of get your hands dirty again and earn some cash as either a writer,
a content producer, or a dev.
And then I think the other thing that's going to be fun coming out this month, I think Billy probably mentioned it,
but we're looking at integrating a sort of a reward system directly into the Discord.
So we're going to be distributing code to members who other members of Signal have helped them out,
good vibes, helped them out on questions,
and then use that system to distribute code rewards to folks who are contributing to the community.
So these are kind of like the main things that are happening this month that all seem really exciting.
And then over the course of the quarter, the new model, essentially,
the first sort of two and a half, three weeks of each month will be sort of squarely focused on the community.
So it kicks off with a town hall.
Each week we have workshops.
We'll be doing more of these panel Twitter spaces.
And hopefully most of the speakers on those panels can be folks that are involved in the DAO as well.
And then we'll be ending each month with a mini hackathon.
Billy can probably explain more about the mini hackathons if he wants to now.
But as I mentioned earlier, we're also then hoping to be able to run a fellowship program each quarter.
So the evolving kind of experience for members in the DAO is sort of squarely focused on members.
And we run these hackathons and these fellowship programs to try and take people down a journey of like hanging out,
making friends, learning some cool stuff, building some cooler stuff,
and then like supporting and elevating them people to go and really have an impact.
So it's all really exciting.
Keep an eye out for mini hackathon announcements hopefully in the next couple of weeks.
And, yeah, if you've got any feedback on kind of what's coming up or questions, like hit us up, let us know.
But, Billy, I think it would be good if you just kind of explain some of the thinking around mini hackathons.
We've been talking a lot about the commitment for hackathons for people
and kind of why we found that this model we feel like works well.
I'm just filling out the Luma page because I'm going to buy a baguette and get some wine
so I can eat at the same time you guys do.
But, yeah, mini hackathons.
So, like, for me, like when I first started coding and, like, getting into, like, the Web3 space,
like, I didn't know what I was doing.
So, like, I was a hackathon addict, right?
Like, ETH Global and Code Club, like, any hackathon that someone did,
somebody's grandma did a hackathon down the corner, I was in it, right?
And so, like, it gets chaotic because you have a week or two days or a month to figure out an SDK,
And you have these bounties, this bounty, this bounty.
And, like, my โ I became very mercenary, right?
Where it was, like, who had the biggest bounty?
Let me build that even though I didn't care about it.
And, like, that was what I went for.
And then at the last minute, like, who else can I fit in for this bounty and make that happen?
So, it wasn't very healthy for me.
I got burnt out really quick.
So, I was, like, this is probably not the ideal way to do it.
And, you know, developer DAO, like, what can we do?
You know, like, what would be fun?
So, the focus now for the mini hacks is keeping it less than a week.
And I'm talking to partners about, you know, a price point, right?
I don't want to grind for a week for $500, right?
But I can grind for a couple days for $1,000 or something, you know?
So, finding a nice price point for that to see how much time I want to put into a hackathon.
But then the focus is only one protocol.
So, you don't have to keep learning different protocols all at the same time and trying to
squeeze in different things for different bounties.
Your focus is that protocol, right?
And so, now that it's, you know, you're focused on this one thing, you can really learn about
it, really learn, really connect with the team, you know, knowing their office hours
and being able to connect through that week or whatever long it takes.
What I've noticed in the last few hackathons is people get up really good relationships
Sometimes that leads to a couple of contract gigs for blog posts or bounties.
Or sometimes you become a full-fledged dev rel, right?
Or at least a contract for that.
So, there's been a lot of good relationships that I've seen in the past because now you're
able to directly connect with the team and then be able to interact in that short amount
And you put your best foot forward and they see what you got, right?
And so, I think that's been a really, really good, positive, unexpected turnaround other
than just being able to grind out and learn a new SDK in a couple of days.
The other thing was, like, I'm trying to incentivize more teams.
This time, I think the warning was wrong.
So, like, for anybody that wasn't a DevDow member, they got it.
And anybody that teamed up got it.
So, I'm really trying to push more teams and more camaraderie within the DAO.
So, if you team up with a DevDow member, you'll get a bounty.
So, that way, no matter what you do, and this is for a DAO, not for, like, a starter kit
But if you team up, you get some code bounty for just trying to get together.
I want people talking in the DAO.
Like, I want people networking.
And maybe you find your team.
Maybe the next time you find somebody.
I've done hackathons where we really vibe so well and I miss them.
And then there's teams that I built.
And I was like, well, you know, I'll skip them next time, right?
So, you don't know until you've done it a couple times in order to find your flow.
And it really makes a good connection for everybody.
I know Steph out here is this audience.
Everybody was trying to team up with Steph because she's so cool, right?
So, like, finding those team members and say, oh, they really work well with me.
And, you know, I'm really trying to build that vibe with developer now with camaraderie.
So, I'm looking for different ways to incentivize to make something unique, right?
Like, I don't want you just to be another submission on a random hackathon.
I want your submission to mean something to the team.
So, like, trying to figure out ways where you can really intimately interact with different developers.
And then, hopefully, that coincides with the starter kits that I'm really trying to push again.
And, like, your starter kit makes it to the DevDAO GitHub repo.
And you can say, hey, look, my repo is helping other people build faster and get creative.
So, that's theoretically, like, how I want to build the mini hacks moving forward and having this structure in line.
And then trying to team up team members right now.
I'm going to try a new technique is by time zone.
It's going to be way, way easier.
And then, with non-members, they'll get a temporary NFT that'll get them access to a channel.
Because setting up teams in the Discord and on Twitter and on Telegram was a nightmare for Mina.
So, you know, when in doubt, try again.
And so, we're going to do these things and see how that works.
So, anybody that's non-members that wants to do the next hackathon, we're going to try something new and get you in the Discord.
You get to see a little bit of what it's about.
And then, we can start forming teams within there.
And then, we'll have a couple more team forming sessions all within the Discord.
It just makes it a little bit easier for everybody moving forward as well.
So, I think that's it from a mini hackathon.
I don't see it on the list.
But later today, we are having a community workshop with Nader Dabbit.
For those that don't know, Nader is actually one of the co-founders of DeveloperDAO.
But now, it works for Lens Protocol.
We're literally on Twitter right now.
So, we all know the Twitter drama of going back and forth and all the socials and everything.
So, Lens is a Web3 social platform.
So, the goal for this workshop is to, how do you get started?
Like, I don't know anything about Lens right off the top.
So, it's how does someone like me get started with Lens?
And how can I start building off of it, right?
We can all complain about it.
But we're going to show you how to start building your own or contribute to building your own social media platform.
So, that'll be at 2.30 Pacific time.
It's a good one because I have to miss my gym session because my gym sessions are 2.30 p.m.
And I'm missing it for Nader.
So, this better be a fire one.
Otherwise, I'm just going to be mad or, like, do some push-ups on the fucking workshop.
I pinned it to the space.
So, you can go to the Luma event and RSVP.
It'll put it in your diary.
I don't do Pacific time, but in UTC, it's 9.30.
And then we've also got, as Billy mentioned earlier, OX Thresh tomorrow at 6 p.m. UTC,
who's going to be giving us a lowdown on Docker kind of generally and more specifically in Web3.
He's a cloud engineer by day and a chain link hackathon winner by night.
So, it should be a really, really interesting kind of, Billy, I think, mentioned earlier,
we're trying to find opportunities, A, to elevate members and give them a platform to help everyone else,
but also try and plug knowledge gaps or gaps where we're lacking in content for what's out there.
So, that's a really good one for that, too.
And if anyone else is kind of stewing on some galactic brain knowledge about anything and they want to share and have a platform,
then contact Billy and hopefully he can get you on to host something similar.
But that's about it for today.
I think we probably should have asked this a little earlier to give people the time to queue up if there are any questions.
But if anyone has a question from the audience, if they want to raise their hand,
maybe we'll give it 30 seconds to a minute to see if anyone does.
And if not, we will close out the space.
Does that sound good to you, Bill?
I guess workshop, hat, no hat, I guess.
Some people like the hat.
Yeah, if anyone hasn't seen, Billy looks remarkably better on camera now than he did a few weeks ago.
I don't know how to take that one, but yeah.
We haven't had any requests come in.
So, maybe we will close out the space and say thank you, everyone, for coming.
Keep an eye out for some cool announcements over the next few days from Mina for the winners of the hackathon and also hopefully some new hackathons that are coming down the pipeline.
It looks like we might actually have a request, Bill.
So, I got him up on stage.
I have a statement first.
You're all beautiful people.
So, the second thing is, for those of you who don't know, I started to do office hours for builders in the Solana ecosystem.
Pretty much product feedback or pretty much connecting people to resources on how to get started or anything of that nature.
Feel free to go to my pinned tweet and sign up.
I think it's like 90 days out or indefinitely out that you can pick a time slot on Tuesday.
And I just do it because, you know, I love doing it.
And I just want to help as many people as I can.
So, outside of that, that's it.
Like, I think Techno is the only sole Solana VC fiver right now that kind of rallies for it.
But, like, I agree with him.
Like, opportunities are everywhere, right?
Like, there's so many hot things.
If you're a Rust developer or a front-end developer, there's just opportunities everywhere.
Like, zero knowledge, account abstraction.
There's so many directions that you can get so caught up trying to learn everything.
But, like, just stick to something.
And, like, if there's people willing to give you the time to, like, just share their knowledge,
Like, I wish I knew of these opportunities when I was starting because that would have saved me so much time.
But, anyways, thank you, Deshaun, for sure.
So, make sure to follow him.
Look at the โ is it on your bio, your details?
So, I think Kent put it right up there and pinned it to the spaces.
So, the link is right there, right on my profile.
Yeah, you can get it at the pin at the top.
And, Deshaun, if there's anything else, like, it sounds like you're on a mission to help people,
which is sort of squarely what we're hoping to support.
So, if there's any way that the DAO can help elevate some of that time and energy and work that you're doing
and value that you're creating, either it's promotion or be giving a platform
or any ideas that you've got that the DAO might be able to help with,
then I'm sure we'd love to see if we can help support.
I think we've already taken enough people's time.
Unless anybody has some final words, I think we're a solid.
I'm going to go ahead and end it out.
Thank you all for showing up.
Again, if you have any questions, comments, concerns, I'm always available or hit up Kemp.
Thank you so much for Deshaun.
Thank you for all of them for all the updates.
And we'll catch you in the DAO.
