Thank you. it's hello hello and welcome back to another Tuesday, Tuesday.
I'm Blanks, joined as always by Kryptonio.
Today, we're excited to welcome back the organizers of TezCon 2025.
They've been busy planning what promises to be a standout event for the Tezos community,
happening this June in Seattle.
We'll get into what's planned, how things have changed up since our last chat,
and what you can expect if you're planning to be there.
But first, let's quickly catch up on a couple of recent highlights from the Tezos community.
There's a new piece up on news.tezoscomments.org about how Tezos could better support music,
specifically focusing on practical improvements
to become the go-to platform for musicians.
Music has deep roots on Tezos
from the early days of Hen Radio
to groups like TezTones, but there's still a long way to go in terms of tools and visibility.
Right now, artists face limitations like small file-size caps when minting audio files, forcing many to use MP4 videos just to get visuals and sound in one mint the problem music inside mp4s doesn't get
categorized as music making discovery nearly impossible the article suggests simple but
impactful upgrades like prioritizing audio file uploads creating built-in cc0 generative
visualizers for musicians without custom visuals and establishing a dedicated music
hub on object it also proposes native support for album minting improved metadata standards and
clear web3 stats for collectors and artists to track their successes rather than chasing big traditional music
platforms the piece encourages object to partner with grassroots open source initiatives like te
cafe and creative tools such as reaper platforms already aligned with tezos value of artist
empowerment and decentralization ultimately it's a call for music to be treated with the same care,
visibly, and experimentation as visual art on Tezos,
giving independent musicians the support they deserve.

Program is here to help make sure they get noticed. If you see someone building, creating,
helping out, or just making things better, nominate them at tezoscommons.org slash rewards.
Or tag their post with hashtag CRP. Or remember to add a category if you're not tagging a post
and just nominating it only takes a second and it helps the right people get the credit that
they've earned all right so I do see that we have uh some people in the audience that we should
probably get up on stage let's get uh see here
how do we do this mr fendel we need to get you up here i believe i see ryan has joined us
hello hello how are you ryan yeah i i have i just want to quickly say that I have
sent invites both to Jake and
I don't know if they see them
if they could request maybe to
I have got one that I have just
thanks so much brother hello to everybody Mr. Mark Fendel, welcome to the stage.
I wish everybody a happy Tez Tuesday.
Thanks for having me up here.
We appreciate you being up here.
Looks like we got Jacob with us as well.
I'm glad he could make it we made it glad to be here love it all right well well let's let's bring the
spotlight down on our friends here mark ryan and jake the masterminds behind bringing tescom 2025 to life it has been a while since we last talk and we're excited to
hear about all the updates and how things have come together uh real quick why don't i have you
guys just introduce yourself you know i know everybody knows who you are but let's be let's
be you know we'll be proper all right that was great thanks for introducing yourselves i appreciate it all right moving no
i'm kidding nothing has to be said no we speak for our silence speaks magnus starts first
you're you do you open your mouth you go first you have the control please ryan ryan why don't
you go ahead then we'll go to jake then we'll go to Mark, and then we will move on.
I go by the handle RyanGTanaka.
And I've been a musician as well as a builder on Teslox for the last few years.
for the last few years and um one of the main organizers of tescon which uh very excited to
talk about we've been working on this for a year and this is going to be like a music focused
teslos event and um yeah so people are going to see a lot of the, you know, like the hidden gems and treasures that you often don't see.
Because, you know, people don't, like the NFT space is very visually biased, you know.
So it felt like the music side got overlooked.
But this event, we're going to change all that.
So I also just posted a TezCon mega thread.
People have been asking about open calls and, you know, the art submissions and the sponsors and community slides and all that.
So I put it all in one place.
Well, thanks, Ryan. Appreciate that. All right, Jake. Jake you're up my man
I go by the handle regular Jake
if you don't like me I followed
make sure and send them all your your hate mail to to ryan tanaka oh i get that don't worry
no yeah um no yeah 2022 2023 ryan was i I mean, we were online friends before that, doing some political stuff for Andrew Yang.
We're old school Yang gang, but we kind of transitioned to, you know, crypto music arts.
And I was just, you know, following along with him.
And he was like, man, you know, I really want to do this music stuff and
come up with something somewhere and and then he kind of found Tezos and or
it's probably before then but he started talking about it a lot more I was like
man you know I hadn't really collected anything on aetherium but I was always
interested in the art and it just didn't feel right for me on aetherium and so I hopped on ten those hops on object and and it was like you know just blew me
away the art that I was fighting I was like this this is it this is my jam so
I've pretty much you know been here ever since but i've always wanted to help in any way i could um since i'm not
really an artist i do small time things some of which will be at tezcon i have a tez poll
that was featured at last year's tezcon or not featured but it was there at tezcon last year
um and so i've kind of redone it up for 2025 and the new theme and so but other than
that you know it's really just uh support support for the artists um helping you know test what i
can or you know kind of join groups and and give input when i can, and so it's just, you know, that kind of that, um,
support role and helping to find a bridge between the art and all the regular people who aren't necessarily artists, but interested in art and, you know,
um, that kind of stuff. So trying to figure out, you know,
how do we get more people to, to join, anyways, happy to be here, guys.
Thank you for joining us.
And, of course, last but not least, Mark, who's joined us today.
Yeah, Fendel De La Creme here.
You all know, electroacoustic musician, saxophonist, music producer, Tezos, lover of Tezos and everything Tezos.
Yeah, super excited to be here.
And, you know, how did this all happen?
I have been in the space since, like, May of 2021, the early days days kind of early days of hiket nunk um i was
introduced to tezos by by uh mighty moss believe it or not and um i was like straight away i was
like i had no idea what i was doing but i was like oh this is totally this is totally the way forward
um but especially you know for musicians i still think it is, even though, you know, that is the topic of the day, right?
We're talking about this article.
So I'm excited to kind of break that down with you, Blangs.
And, yeah, I did help Yoshi a little bit, kind of like kind of flesh out some of those ideas.
a little bit kind of like kind of flesh out some of those ideas and and um yeah i'm excited to see
if we can you know get some good tools for musicians so i'll kick it back to you heck
yeah well i want to give a shout out tez con is something that would not exist without our lovely
hash browns and test tones this thing was definitely a teztone originated idea this
thing grew out of the love and the attention to to want to bring something to life and what it's
become today is all due to the hard work and the hard efforts there uh and i want to give the the
shout outs and the kudos there um we'll be doing some updates
we'll be talking about what's going on and then i want to bring up uh bill knight i want to bring
you up test tones and come chat about what's going on with you guys in the event as well
so let's first get into some of these updates uh since the last time we chatted i mean what's been
the most memorable moment during this planning like i mean we're
talking either a big win or maybe an oh no moment that that you guys overcame like let's start with
you uh mark um big wins um you know get i think the two i think one of the biggest wins is getting boxes from Tezos.
Like, I got a box of Tezos here.
Yeah, I got some uranium cake.
Anyway, for the participating artists who are at the event,
we'll get a hard wallet, a Tezos hard wallet, which is really exciting.
So I think getting these boxes just showing up at my door,
like from, I don't even know where they came
from there must have been from like uk or or it was the the tesla's fairy uh brought it for the
pelican in the sky that's where the tesla's comes from is the pelicans right the owls have the owls
delivered um but yeah i think that was think that was a really exciting moment.
I think challenges, I think one of the biggest challenges to overcome this year really was how to display the art without having the screens and using projectors instead and,
and a little bit more lo-fi, but still, I think it'll be,
I think we'll be able to showcase the art really, really nicely.
It might be more impactful too, if projectors are done right,
bigger screen, bigger impact.
Seriously. And we have a, you know, there's a, there's a big space for it so i'm excited about
it and we can talk more about those kind of logistics if you want to you know later oh
well yeah we'll get into this of course but man yeah yeah all right now jake what about you man
any any hurdles or exciting moments oh man uh Number one exciting moment for me, and shout out to you guys, Tesla's Commons, Kryptonio.
Getting the grant for this event was awesome.
Not trying to talk myself up or anything, but that was the first time I ever wrote a grant.
It was like, all right, great.
You know, last year we had a little bit of grant money that Tez Tones had
acquired, but Ryan and I, you know, just to get this stuff going,
we wanted to get it going so bad.
It was like, you know what, let's put together some of our money and just get this thing going. We wanted to get it going so bad. It was like, you know what, let's, let's put it, you know, together some of our money and just get this thing done. Um, you know, cause you kind
of got to start somewhere. And so we had that, you know, last year's event, um, to, to kind of show
that, Hey, no, we're, we're being serious about this. And so this year, uh, we got some grant money, which has really helped us out and,
um, securing the same, um,
food catering outfit with the singing chef is another huge win.
Um, Chantel is amazing. She,
y'all get to see it. If you're coming, uh, the lady that's going to serve you food is going to,
hopefully, if she's scheduled to, hop up on stage at some point
and sing and possibly rap.
She's really, really, really good, too.
And then, you know, just getting the projectors.
They're good quality projectors.
That was, you know, it just really, like, this year things went really smoothly, which was a big win.
I can't, there's not really been too many setbacks, honestly, to even talk about,
Gosh, I really just, you know, maybe.
You don't have to voice one.
I'm trying to think of something.
Well, that's good to hear, man.
It's, it's been fun watching it from sort of, not the sidelines,
cause I've kind of been in the mix with you, but, and I've been along for the ride,
but yeah, it's been fun to watch.
You guys have been doing great.
Ryan, right. How about you, man?
I mean, the big thing really was, you know, I moved up.
I moved to Seattle recently, you know, about six, seven months ago now, I guess.
But I was looking to, I was prior to that, I was living in Los Angeles.
And, you know, I've been feeling a little bit stranded
because uh yeah i won't get into it but the town's not the same anymore you know like since i moved
there i was there for like a long time almost 20 years so i was looking for something different
and uh tezcon last year uh was was really a big part of my decision to move up here because I was just like, well, yeah, yeah, this is, yeah, this feels nice, you know, and then maybe I'll give it a shot.
So, you know, I, so I'm making a pretty big commitment to the whole thing.
You know, I literally moved towns for this thing.
So yeah, and all the things that go along with it,
it was exciting enough for me to make that kind of big decision.
It's just, I don't know the the well i can speak about
the challenges there were lots you know and uh uh yeah part we we were like overly reliant on
um the infrastructure uh of you know the venue that we were working with.
And a lot of things didn't turn out the way you wanted to.
But, but at the end of the day, you know, it's about the people, you know,
it's about the gathering, it's about the connection that you made with,
with the folks there, you know, and that, that will be there no matter what,
no matter what happens there you know and uh that that will be there no matter what no matter what
happens you know so i think i think this year we're a lot better organized where uh you know
the re the resources that the the um does those comments have have given us is was a big help
like jake said and um yeah it's just gonna be better you know and and like like Jake
said like I the last few meetings you remember me talking about like okay so what's wrong like what
what do we have to do you know but actually for the most part things have gone pretty smoothly you know so yeah i i can't can't complain
man that's awesome event planning is uh it's an art and a skill i think you uh you i don't know
man it's it's like composing you're working with an orchestra you have different moving parts you've
got different music for each part in the score you got to make sure it sounds good to everybody watching
you're you're composing it's interesting yeah i i do have you know i am a product manager i guess
you know technically so i do have some experience in that but but it's still not easy you know and
and uh the hard part you're surrounded by musicians.
These emotional, oh my God.
But it's not always about your feelings, you know?
Sometimes you just gotta get-
It is always about my feelings and you respect-
But you gotta get shit done, right?
And so I often find myself in that position and you know
it's not it's sometimes it can be challenging but you know at this point in my life i'm like well
that's my lot you know i i make hey that's fair and you do a great job we appreciate it oh thank
you thank you because you definitely stretch in directions i myself would snap if i tried to move
that way like i'm getting old you know like if you shift the wrong way you tweak your neck you know uh well yeah i mean i'm not that young either but i understand
we're not getting any younger are we yeah but but you know um it's really just about like um making
sure things are there you know and it it's easier said than done, right?
Right. But that's the feeling we want. And if we,
and I get that feeling from you always. So I appreciate you, man.
Thank you so much for everything that's been going on.
Now I know other people have been involved in this.
Has there been like any new ideas or details you guys have added to Tescon
that made you think, yeah, this, this feels really special.
I mean, any of you could jump in and answer that if you want.
I know Mark could probably tell you more about it,
but we've got, I believe,
some artists have come in that is going to do
a live piece while Mark is performing. Mark, what do you...
Yeah, not just any artist, but I have a few very favorite artists in the Pacific Northwest.
in the Pacific Northwest.
And maybe, like, my two favorite are probably Joanna Abbott-Moss
and Anne Gergage, because we go back so many years.
And we first collaborated in 1998.
And this is particularly special, because we're going to do a piece that's four foot by 200 feet, which will be secured to the wall like painter's tape or some kind of tape to the wall. And this is like so special because my friend Joanna doesn't really showcase
her work, not on Tezos, not really anywhere. And this is because of a lot of reasons, but mostly
surrounding mental and physical health. And so for her to agree to this for Tezcon is unbelievable, but it is right up her alley.
I mean, this is what she does.
Like, this is where she, this is like her superpower is like giving her like, you know, 200 foot canvas to just go nuts with.
I mean, she will be there.
And I'm hoping that that's going to happen during the live Tez Tones.
But I have not discussed that with either my team or with Hash Brown or anybody.
He's not even up here and you're putting that pressure on him already that i know i know what i'm doing but i'll get him up here soon
get him up here soon and no matter what um i i'm just really excited to add that that piece to the event.
Because, yeah, Joanna is just a super talented artist, and it will be really fun to watch her work.
All right, so someone's listening right now,
and say they want to help out or participate somehow.
What's the most useful thing they could do right now and say they want to help out or participate somehow what's the most useful
thing they could do right now oh well um i mean if if you're an artist on tezos you know i would
say you know please submit oh there's an open call please submit a piece we'd love to showcase
your work of course that's in the mega thread i posted underneath so all the forms are
there and yeah thank you ryan for doing that and what else yeah like help you know just help us get the word out about, about TezCon and, and, and what else? Yeah. If
you're part of a, you know, like an entity on, on Tezos, you know, like Tezos Commons or whatever
you want, you would like to have a slide, you know, you could get in touch. Ryan, you probably have that information as well.
So I got a few questions.
So we have two input forms this year,
and the deadline's coming up.
It's the 20th, so this Friday.
We're going to be probably discussing it at our meeting.
So if you're interested in submitting something, please do it sooner than later.
So we have two different input forms.
We have one for visual artists.
So that'll be like a gallery on rotation on one of the projector screens.
So far we've gotten about 30 000 submission no
actually it's up to 50 now so it's pretty substantial you know even even without all
the the bots you're flipping out the bots you know um i've got a i've got a oh excuse me
he's got a frog in his throat.
Hold on real quick, folks.
We do have a professional baker joining us as well,
flying over from the other side of the world.
Chris Sennock will be joining us, talking about baking.
He'll be wearing his signature hat.
It's going to be amazing.
It's going to be a lot of fun, yeah.
He's twisted the – he's gone black, folks. It a dark dark baker it'll be beautiful uh the other the other part is the uh
sponsor slash community form which uh i got a lot of questions about but um basically
But basically, we want to showcase the other side of what happens on the Tesla's change.
You know, there's the art, but there's also, you know, the sponsors, people that support us.
We're probably going to, you know, just include slide from tesla's comments because you guys are
our sponsor quite literally so um but uh we thought it'd be interesting to kind of open up
the process a bit because we want to showcase kind of the diversity of things going on around the chain, right? Even if it's not explicitly art.
So I've been reaching out to people and I've got a lot of,
you know, they're working on their slides right now, but yeah,
a lot of people seem interested in that.
So, so really if you have anything, yes.
Sorry. Do you have any names that you could
share like as an example like what kind of communities projects that sure you know apply so
so for example we're gonna include a lot of the uh you know the names you already know right
texas commons i reached out to a few companies
i don't know if they're interested but we did reach out uh we'll see what they do but um we have
a a good example is uh bakers so we've been reaching out to a lot of bakers and asking them hey do you want to slide in this uh in in this um rotation that
we're putting up you know just to just to let the people know that you have a baking um project going
on uh we also uh i think uh just steam the zero contract right um he said he was interested in
including something because i think it's important
for artists to know that that's also an option right and we had yeah that's the kind of project
like I had in mind that maybe uh it would make sense to showcase you know maybe some tools
projects that have yeah community driven projects that have community driven yeah yeah. But malicious sheep is also working on something.
You know, she's doing a million things.
So she wanted to include one of her projects.
I'm not sure what she's going to submit.
And so that'll probably be there too.
And so, yeah, I don't want to.
For one, it's free for now.
You know, this year we're keeping it open.
Donations welcome, of course.
But so we wanted to keep it kind of open ended.
And we're going to have just slides that people made for fun.
Just because, you know, and I think having like a random assortment of things
is kind of like what Tezos is about.
Actually, and the thing is,
it's more about the spirit of the event
than being like specifically Tezos,
you know, exclusive, right?
Like Fendo's inviting a friend that works in trad art or you
know whatever she does um so i actually like reached out to some people i know uh one of my
friends he actually works in in uh uh public service you know public sector and he has this
initiative that he wanted to um promote as well so i'm like yeah sure well included you know, public sector. And he has this initiative that he wanted to, um, promote as well.
Well included, you know, and what's it called?
It's called applied research in government operations, you know, and, uh, uh, but, but
I, you know, I've known the guy for a long time.
I mean, his organization controls
that seems pretty important.
said, it sounds pretty important.
But right next to it, you'll have
trying to promote their wacky art
project. And it's in the megathread, by the way, you can check it out.
I did leave some, um, examples.
So, uh, but yeah, you know, anything goes as long as it's not offensive or
So as long as it's fun and we'll probably say yes.
So there's a few more days.
If anyone wants to submit anything, please do.
So we're talking, what, 11 days until this is going down, correct, gentlemen?
It's less than it's getting close down to the single digits.
Now, this one is for Fendel because I know he was the one who's sort of the expert on it.
sort of the expert on it. Are there any updates to the surrounding events? Can we get a, just a
Are there any updates to the surrounding events?
quick recap for those of us who may be in the area before and after the event? I know you were
planning on doing some stuff. Is that still happening? Have we confirmed? Totally. Um,
yeah. Uh, Friday one o'clock we're doing a, um, just a little meet and greet at Duwamish Longhouse, which is located right here in West Seattle.
It's the birth of Seattle.
I mean, it's Chief Seattle is the Duwamish tribe.
It's our local tribe here, and it's a lovely place to meet and to learn a little bit about the culture here.
And it's something that a lot of people don't usually do.
And it's just a really beautiful place.
So I'm excited to share that with you. After that, we'll have a little meet and greet just for like an hour and a half or so at Tim's Tavern, which is just up the street.
And and which has kind of a nice outdoor patio place where we can gather for a little bit.
Let's see. That is for Friday. Saturday, of course, is the event.
Friday. Saturday, of course, is the event. And then Sunday, we have the Tezos Music Showcase,
which will be an afternoon gathering outdoors. It's free, of course. Again, here in West Seattle,
very close. And yeah, we'll feature all kinds of great artists again.
I know Yoshi and Half Brown and yours truly.
And, yeah, I'm looking forward to that.
This backyard has been, this couple has been producing these shows
every summer for the last three years in lieu of our
community center burning down during COVID. And so these shows can only happen during the summer
months, you know, the nice months of the Pacific Northwest. So this is going to be the first show of the season.
So I'm excited to, you know, bring some more, you know, Tezos musicians, you know, to the community. And that's what I got.
I did forget one thing. Each evening, Friday evening, we can do a beaver tour. I know I've been talking about this a lot, but there's a family of beavers along Longfellow Creek, which is right wonderful to view a keystone type of animal.
And they come out every night at dusk.
And as long as you're quiet.
They come out at night, right?
Yeah, they come out right at dusk.
I'm always out there. And, you know, and then, of course, like at 915 or 930, you know, it gets dark pretty fast. So there's only like about a 40 minute window, really, where you can really see them up close and stuff. So it's pretty cool. So we'll do that.
There you go. Uran uranium and beavers folks
i mean this is thanks for the context because out of context like a glorious beaver hunt
just does not really land right you know right uh we're not hunting them down. We're just checking them out.
Oh, yeah. We're hunting them.
We're going to go hunt the beavers and shoot them with our cameras.
I don't think they taste very good, in my opinion.
Oh, I'm not trying to like, I'm not talking like capture them and eat them.
You don't feel like a hunter when you're going out and filming things sometimes?
I'm filming things sometimes.
I'm trying to be quite stealth,
but it's easy to spook them.
But yeah, these are some things of the Pacific Northwest.
Come to TezCon, I'll show you.
No, you guys are up there in the Pacific Northwest.
You've got to lay out the weather for normal people.
You guys have forgotten that it's not normal to have weather like you guys do.
You've got to explain what it's going to be like while I'm up there.
What's the weather going to be like?
Well, it's going to rain every single day.
It hasn't been raining the last few weeks no i i just i say that just but um
you know usually at the end of june we have some pretty nice pretty nice weather here
um so was it raining when we were there last year kind of you know we had a spot of really
nice weather last year during the,
That building caught fire next door.
Fire department blocked off our whole block, man.
It was like, what's going on?
Tescon was popping last year.
If you weren't there, you didn't know.
Yeah, people were so excited.
They started setting things on fire.
We burned that place down.
It was just too exciting, you know?
Hey, I just looked real quick it's supposed to be in the 70s mid mid 70s so it's supposed to be looking pretty nice next weekend yeah you know the weather
has been really nice here the last few weeks so what's really nice like uh like 70s, 80s. Not much rain. It's sunny.
You know, dude, like, are you getting blinded?
Like there's shining mirrors in your face?
Well, the ironic thing is that I've been working on Teya Cafe now, so I hardly go outside.
Even though I was going out a lot when it was rainy and miserable when I first moved here.
But now that the weather's nice, I'm going to I'm a shut in.
So you've acclimated to the weather in Washington quite nicely.
I kind of missed the cold in your face, you know, a little bit.
We can still achieve that.
Well, that's coming during the winter for sure.
You know, there's something
that this is something about being like trying to enjoy the cold, right?
I don't know something about you're fine enjoying it.
There's something wonderful about bundling up and
being warm but i like it for a season i don't like it like 300 days out of the year that bothers me
i'm gonna i've invited mr bill knight up to the stage welcome welcome one of our artists
locally in the pacific oh how are you brother it's good to hear your voice
man i'm shitting it's all cotton over here i'll tell you i'm uh let's see i've i've had a new
epiphany and uh my art journey has been exploding on paintings.
And yeah, and I've been enjoying a cold beer and a fat joint.
And I'm working on a painting as we, well, not as we speak, but I'm looking forward to seeing everybody at the event coming up, Tezcan 2028.
I had a beard and I was drinking water.
I'm looking forward to some of that wonderful wine because I worked at multiple wineries in california the wine was pretty good oh god no
yeah i'm thinking of a diverge demeanor or something my mom's favorite wine anyways
so what mom was drinking i was drinking anyways i don't want to digress but uh
yeah i'm enjoying life uh having a fantastic, you know, everything's cool.
I had the staff come in and check my alarm and it, you know, everything's cool.
And yeah, I have no neighbors.
I have one neighbor, but the rest of them either passed away or we don't know because
the HIPAA, they don't tell.
But I know how to get around that.
You just ask the maintenance guys because they know he worked for Seattle Housing in
And the only person I asked about was my neighbor across the hall, Chris, who I may have
And yeah, so the guys went in there, checked the alarm, and I was very surprised that there's still
some furniture in there, Chris's, that I gave him. And I thought he either passed away,
but I talked to the maintenance guys they said oh no he's
in a medical facility which he needed you know assistance and help with you
know some issues and so I was pleasantly surprised he's got you know some stuff
in his apartment so who knows he might come back but anyways so I am working on a, I just finished a couple paintings.
I have minted as of yesterday or the day before.
Now I have 415 minted digital pieces.
My first piece was minted on September, what was it, September 14th, 2021, thanks to Fendel's Health.
And man, it's just been really going great.
You know, no wife, no kids, no mortgage, no drama, no felonies, no bullshit.
Just fucking listening to music, hanging out with you guys and painting and painting a lot.
So I'm working on the landscape painting now.
And yeah, I appreciate you all.
And God, all your hard work is just just blows my mind.
Welcome all the music folks.
I own a guitar and a bass, but I don't know what the hell I'm doing. So
that's a whole nother show, but I'm optimistic and, uh, really grateful for everybody being
here and taking the time to, uh, be here. And, uh, thank you. Thank you all.
Well, thank you, Bill, man. It was awesome getting to meet you last year in person.
It was great getting to see you up close, man, because it's funny.
We think we know each other.
We've spent a lot of time talking.
We spent a lot of time in each other's company messaging back and forth.
But, man, when you get right in front of somebody, I don't know,
there's something all about it that just solidifies and cements it forever.
So appreciate you, too you too man so much you're sad we missed uh we missed ashbrown
he dipped out i feel bad i wanted to get him up here oh hmm well uh bill you're bringing a few
pieces of yours right to the event the physical i well thank, thank you, Ryan, and hello, and thanks for your hard work.
Yes, I talked with Fendel about bringing my last two pieces that I just finished.
However, I was kind of rethinking that.
I might bring some pieces that maybe other people like or, you know,
bring some pieces that maybe other people like or you know maybe a collaboration uh or one of the
previous seasons uh the very first season that we did or maybe something we did in last season or the
okay piece that won the whole ball of wax uh last year um i don't know but yeah i've got all
but something will be there right so yeah
either one is fine yes yes indeed cool yeah that's that's kind of like a big part of what
we're trying to do this year uh i guess you know the theme is the truth is out there but like um
a lot of the things that we're doing, like logistically, we're trying to
really like bring the digital side of the Tesmos movement into a physical form.
So that's why we're doing live performances.
We're going to have, uh, physical pieces of art that Bill brings.
Um, Jake, Jake is, oh man, Jake has done so much for this
community. He's not around on Twitter as much, but he definitely deserves more recognition.
But he's taking the copyright feature from Taya and basically turning it into merch you know so he's selling uh physical
art pieces uh from the rights that he got from uh several artists here so so that's going to be there
and of course uh you know like uh Mark is like a you know amazing musician and he's gonna be playing live oh i'll be playing
live too actually so if you've never heard my music uh yeah this is the first time this is the
first show i've done and like god see how do i remember the last real music performance i did was before covid i think so that was a while ago
well i'm considering bringing uh uh i have a crate that my neighbor frank made he's a carpenter
and a craftsman and he made me i actually have uh seven full crates of art and one of the crates he made me there's a really nice uh red and white
one that says knight's art on it and it holds 11 or 11 inch by 14 inch uh pieces and uh there's
quite a few of those so i might be able to throw that when you say a crate how big? Oh, just, I don't know.
How many bodies can you fit in it?
Could you have like a half a body or three bodies?
How many bodies can you fit in?
In terms of volume, yeah.
It's only about my forearm.
It's only about my forearm.
Is that more like a box than a crate then?
Well, I've got crates for my 16-inch by 20-inch, but I don't think I'll be able to hump those on the bus.
It's going to be quite a track, so we'll see.
No, I was just like, I don't know.
When I heard crate, I was like, oh, my God. I originally said, Mark, earlier is that I have a carrying case that I can hold about four paintings in.
So I was just going to throw.
OK, no, we have we have the space for that.
Definitely. You know, sorry.
Sorry. I'm just talking. I'm just thinking about logistics again.
This is not a planning space.
You're supposed to be showcasing what you already planned.
I'm planning to show up with bells on my...
It's kind of like, this is kind of like what happened last year, though.
You know, we kind of like figured everything on the fly.
Yeah, but you haven't really figured everything on the fly this time.
This is technically still planning.
We're going to have all kinds of stuff, man.
So we're going to have a Bill Knight corner come by, stop by.
We'll check out some nice work with Bill Knight.
You're going to be tired of talking about yourself all day, buddy.
You're going to have to stay over there and just talk about yourself all day are you okay with that
uh well i'll bring uh yeah i'll bring my tissues because i get a little water ride sometimes
perfect and i'll be you know honestly you guys i can't believe this stuff man
you know and it's just so wonderful. Yeah, being able to be here.
But yeah, I'm willing to chat.
And, you know, it's, yeah, it'll be a lot of fun.
And it's going to be a lot better, I feel, than last time.
Because last time, you know, it was like, I don't know.
It was just, it was just different, man. You know, it was like, I don't know. It was just, it was just different, man.
You know, and in the way of my mental health, in the way of my space, and in a way, it's
really challenging, as Mark knows, or Fendel, is that I lived in that area.
I lived in that area called Belltown where the first, you know,
And that was a traumatizing area completely.
I did some, I didn't do any legal shit, but then again, it's Seattle.
You're talking about downtown yeah
yeah yeah and i couldn't go to the after party because the after party and by the time i would have got home on the bus it would have been late well later in night and it was the first of the month, and everybody got paid their social security
and their welfare check, and it's just a hot mess, so, you know, that's why, you know, this time,
I'm in a whole different perspective. Thanks to my brother, the income is coming in monthly. I get
a raise next month thanks to my
brother leave me out money when he died and so now I can just focus in on you
know being cool relaxing and painting but you know I'm cool with yucking it up
but I forgot how many interviews I've done, and it's just really strange, you know,
because I couldn't believe the first time Fendel told me that the night train
mentioned my painting Snoqualmie Pass, and I said, get the fuck out of here. They did not,
and he goes, yeah, I'm serious, and so sure enough, that changed my life, you know.
So thank you, everybody, for being here and, you know, changing my life each day, you know, because this is my job, 100%, painting and being good to others and supporting other artists and musicians if I do best I can.
We appreciate you man you're uh you're shining example of what uh
life can do for someone who wants something more for sure it's good to see what's what's
happened man and i remember i remember your conversations i remember chatting with you
about all that going on and that's giving you that look like man that's rough and you're you're
looking at me going i know it's rough right now but but this is just, I'm on my way out.
We're going to be better.
And you just mark my words next year.
This time is going to be a different story.
My brother was there last year.
He remembers talking to you, Bill.
So him and his girlfriend.
I remember that conversation.
They were really wonderful people.
So excited to see you there. It was great. They were really wonderful people. You know, I was going to like, I was going to say Hashbrown had to dip, but he just wanted to,
I think he just wanted to reiterate that there's going to be a set of music
that's dedicated to a live match for Tez Tones during TezCon.
Oh, shit, I need the schedule.
Good, yes, that's wonderful.
Yes, we need to make sure we get that out there.
And yeah, a live match of Tez Tones. Now, for anyone who does not know what's going on there, football, soccer, whatever maybe you watch.
But as far as brackets go, most people are kind of familiar.
But in this case, you have live competitions between artists creating music,
creating visual effects, and blending all of that together
into a finished product under a timeline.
It's live. It's's international it's usually done remotely
very rarely do you ever have any two people in the same room and you usually are leaning very hard
into these artists uh skills and what they're very gifted in and there's a lot of cooperation
that needs to happen there's a lot of give and push there happen. There's a lot of give and push.
There's some drama. If you're into reality-style shows, believe it or not,
there is one on Tezos, and it's called TezTouts.
So they are an amazing thing to watch,
an amazing, fun, exciting event.
It's an athletic event that you get to watch
and you can even participate in.
that would be just awesome.
I've watched a few via Twitch,
but there's just something
cool about being in the presence of it live.
Live jam sessions are always the coolest.
It's almost like a bonding experience.
Fendel, is there anything else you wanted to add?
Yeah, I mean, I'm really excited to, like,
make a piece with Yoshi and Apollo as a Ghost, you know,
like in the same room live at TezCon.
Hopefully Stroke and Miratrotito can maybe join in, you know, remote.
But but yeah, the villains team is, you know, is three of the five of us are going to be right there.
Plus my, plus my, you know,
longtime friend and artist, Joanna Abbott Moss.
I just posted the schedule of the event.
So you can see the details there.
We're going to start off the event.
People will just be walking in and then, Perfect. Yeah. So you can see the details there. We're going to start off the event.
People will just be walking in.
And then a little while after we open, we're going to start a panel.
So that's when Chris, you know, talking about a little bit about baking.
But also, you know, just talking about what's going on in teslos and what it is just to give people an idea and after that it's going to be all music stuff like uh the test tones event
starts right after the panel and then they'll it'll be about an hour where mark, Mark, Paul is a ghost that Yoshi and hopefully the other two can make
it too from the stones but it's going to be a one hour long and you get to see the process
of like musicians making art in real time which is pretty you know you don't see that
very often so I think it'd be a lot of fun.
And after that, it's just all music.
Well, I'd much rather watch that than somebody cutting butter with chains.
You're not really into modern performance art at all, are you?
He's making reference to my new record.
Sorry, that went over my head.
Folks, I appreciate you guys so much.
Fettel, do you have another question, or do I just see your hand?
Oh, I think my hand just got permanently.
Hey, if you're vibing, hand up in the air.
Hold on, let me join you.
It's like a high five around here.
I appreciate you guys so much for doing all this.
There's been so much going on.
I've been privy to this private channel where we talk openly, but it's a private channel.
You might as well just be in the public channel.
It is going to be a great event.
I've got a live feed set up on a laptop.
I'll move it around depending on where it needs to be.
We will be doing a live show from the Tezos Commons,
doing a live X-base from TezCon.
We'll probably do that. We are doing that at 4 p.m
we'll be documenting the first hour of tezcon as it gets started so aside from that my friends
uh twitch channel yeah we just made twitch channel we'll be running the whole time we'll get it set
up and we'll just have that thing running and we'll move it around. Tezcon underscore Seattle is our handle.
So, yes, if you want to join us and you can't be there,
we will have a virtual portal for you to join us live.
I will be chatting with you occasionally,
but you may be on your own just kind of watching things as it goes on.
Is there anything else that we may be forgetting folks as
we bring this space to a close I I just know that uh the event starts at 4 but
the doors are gonna open for us at 2 p.m so if you're coming and you'd like to
help set up oh yeah we could always use more help um i mean we've got it all right i'll be there at four
no i'm kidding i'll show up he's gonna show up at 4 30 and act like he owns the place that's
what's gonna happen yeah that's that's pretty much it but you know it's just i'm i'm super
excited for this man because this is really, we're really going to put ourselves out there.
We've got a lot of, looking at the ticket sales, well, they're free tickets,
but looking at the who picked up tickets and whatnot,
it's half Tezos people and half just Seattle musicians and artists
who are going to show up.
we got put on the West Seattle blog event calendar and.
I'm going to the Seattle's composers Alliance event right after this.
you know, they've been helping us market this event as well.
I think it's going to be pretty cool like like not yeah we're trying to
open it up right outside of yeah yeah get get more people involved and uh get more people you know
knowledgeable about what tesos is and um god i mean talking you know remember talking to murphy the guy that is kind of running the
kenyan hall and he's our ab technician as well he he knew a lot about or a fair amount about
blockchain and nfts and music but you know right out the gate was like well isn't this stuff kind
of energy intensive and we're like oh man ethereum but
not tezos and so you know we're really looking forward to i i think there's a lot of people
open to the idea but just don't know enough and and they're interested in hearing about it they haven't seen it done right right and we can yeah correct yep um so yeah
well i'm super excited man thank you guys so much for doing this i'm looking forward to coming up
and uh doing what i can to make this thing as as awesome as we can make it
all right well kryptonio is there anything else that we need to add before
we wrap this uh this sucker up um do you want to plug your latest art collection no i'm kidding
no no i think we covered a lot i'm just looking at the schedule and uh i'm assuming that after all
the the live stages and stuff there will be more time for connections and stuff?
Actually, Mark, do you know what's happening?
Are we urging something at your place after?
Yeah, the after party is at my place.
How many people do you fit there?
9,000. I can fit a couple hundred uh i can um you know this play last year we went over to his house and had a jam session that was
oh man yeah that was wild people were just showing up with instruments i want you to understand this
was literally there was the house like we oh we need a bass the bass we have is janky it just doesn't work okay hold on one second a bass shows
up you know just yeah his neighbor comes yep joins the party and we start jamming out it was uh
yeah that was amazing not just any neighbor too like i mean he was really good he's better than
state farm if you know what i mean yeah
so it's those yeah it's those moments you know that's what you come for really yeah you got to
come for the creamy jams you know the the after party creamy jams that's what's out the whole
thing we're here for the whole package well at least i will be and i appreciate you guys for
making that a possibility.
You know, I don't, Kryptonio, to answer your question, I don't think there'll be more than like 20 here, but realistically.
Hey, you don't know, man. You know how much marketing we've been doing?
You never know. Just make sure your house is ready.
It is not but I'm working on it
in any case I think that you guys are going to have
such a blast, such an amazing time
I've mentioned many times that I'm going to be jealous
or not being able to come
but I will watch you through the stream
and everything and oh thank you maybe maybe i get lucky next year and i am able to join well oh oh
that's that's before we end in the thing uh i just want to mention that you know we're already
thinking one we're we're going to do this next year for sure so So that's, that's, but are you seeking for a different place?
Is that where you're going?
Well, let's wait until after, after next month.
But we're always trying to go bigger.
We're going to take over the whole, the entire like.
Seattle Convention Center.
That's what I'm talking about yeah i i was more trying to direct you towards europe or something but yeah okay
we'll eventually we'll have one in europe we'll have one in in america we'll just have to go
hey you want to fly us over we'll do it man so but well you know we'll see but but uh but but i do want to emphasize like not only just
10 tescon but we want to keep this a regular thing so uh we're just talking about this more
recently but we want to have live events like these happening all the time and just give some
place you know a physical place for people to hang out
and meet so if anybody wants to help with that uh definitely lots of things to talk about even
after the event so yeah we need a we need a physical place to meet and mine uranium
yeah yeah you've got a new model for an internet cafe it's teia's uh teia themed
internet cafe there you go so we'll see what happens but that's that's the plan it's going
to be ongoing yes very well well my friends i think that wraps up this week's a Tuesday, a TES day, a huge thanks again to Mark,
Thank you for coming up here.
This sounds like it's shaping up to be something special and,
honestly can't wait to see it unfold in Seattle.
