The End Thank you. Music Thank you. . Thank you. . Thank you. GMGM, on to not. Happy Friday. I'm just going to do a quick tech check to make sure everyone can hear me okay. We'll just wait for you, me to accept to speak. Thank you. Thank you. Okay, we're just having some technical issues.
Unfortunately, these spaces are always a lot of fun.
So if you guys can just bear with us,
we're just going to wait and see if Yumi can leave
and then rejoin and we can invite them to speak again. Thank you. Sorry about this everyone.
It looks like Yumi has left and we're just going to wait for them to rejoin and then
we can try to add them as a speaker again. Thank you. Okay, do we have Yumi as a speaker?
Hey, hey, hey, how's it going?
Everybody can hear me properly?
Awesome, yeah.
Finally, finally.
Thank you so much for having us.
That's always the fun thing about spaces.
Cool, thanks so much for your patience.
GM, GM, Antonauts, I see a bunch of our Harbingers are on the spaces as well.
Sorry for the delay but
let's just jump straight into it so we have Yumi with us today on our community call I know
every so often we like to have a new partner or collaborator join to give an intro to you folks
so that you can learn a little bit more but do you want to kick things off by maybe introducing
Yumi and kind of what inspired its creation in the Web3 travel space?
Sure, 100%. First of all, my name is Joaco. I'm actually doing the BD part right now. And I'll
give you guys a really easy update on what we have been doing as well lately. So, Yumi.com is a
Web3 native travel and lifestyle platform that we decided to create it to serve a new generation of travelers.
Let's say digital nomads or crypto holders and blockchain communities.
Now, the main idea for umai.com came from our own experiences navigating the limitations of, you know, traditional travel systems while living in the Web3 world.
of traditional travel systems while living in the Web3 world,
we realized that there wasn't a single platform that really cared for our needs.
Seamless crypto payments, decentralized identity, better prices,
and travel packages built around Web3 events.
So that's why Yumae was born, right?
To bridge this gap.
Our vision is to make travel more accessible,
transparent, and rewarding for the global crypto community while bringing real utility to blockchain
technology and, you know, not only speculation. So travel is something everyone does. We know that.
And we believe that integrating it with Web3 opens up a massive opportunity for user empowerment,
it with web 3 opens up a massive opportunity for user empowerment community collaboration and also
cost savings since our prices right now if you just go directly to our websites you will check
it out and they're pretty pretty cheap so yeah that's a very um straightforward explanation
awesome thank you so much and thanks again for joining the spaces today um i know we only
recently kind of connected but i was really looking forward to hosting you guys
and appreciate your time.
Okay, cool.
Thank you so much for the introduction.
That was really cool to learn.
So let's get maybe a little bit more info
on like specific travel services
that UMI currently offers
and maybe a little bit more about,
you know, how does it integrate with blockchain tech?
And again, thanks for having us.
So at UMI.com currently, we offer a robust selection of hotel bookings in over 50 countries
with, I would say, competitive rates that often beat global averages by 10 to 15%, even
Like right now in Dubai, we're having prices that were 25% cheaper than other
web tool platforms. So very soon, we will be rolling out global flight bookings,
allowing users to purchase entire travel packages using crypto directly from their wallets.
We're also integrating AI, which will be coming probably in the third quarter of 2025.
And in terms of the blockchain integration right now,
that's the core to how we operate.
So how it works is that users, they can connect their wallets
like MetaMask or Wallet Connect or even BNB, Binance, Binance, etc.
And they can pay in a wide range of tokens, such as Ethereum, USDT, BNB and more.
Not only that, but they can also use USDT on several blockchains. And every transaction is processed on-chain. We're
applicable, offering a higher level of security and transparency compared to traditional systems.
We're also building toward using smart contracts for booking confirmations and reward tracking,
toward using smart contracts for booking confirmations and reward tracking,
further decentralizing the process and reducing the hassle of the middleman.
Also, one more thing that I have to add is that inside of your own profile at umai.com,
you will find a place that you can top up money. So let's say you don't really want to always be
sending money on a transaction, etc. You can always have your own card and top up some money. So you're always good to go. So yeah, that's more or less how it works for
people that they don't really know us. It sounds so straightforward and it sounds great to know
that there was a lot more on offer for Dubai, especially with the conference that kicked off
this week. And AI is such a strong narrative for 2025 so it's really
cool to hear that you guys will be doing some work there as well. I just want to take a second to
just say to everybody on Spaces today if you guys are curious about anything that maybe we don't
cover today don't hesitate to reach out to myself or anyone on the UMI team. I'm happy to connect
you guys directly. Also I'd always recommend to just follow these projects on
across social and just get involved in what they're doing. I think it's the best way to learn.
Okay, cool. Thank you so much for that. I feel like I'm taking so much away from the spaces
already. It would be great maybe to know, maybe not so much about your competitors, but you know,
is there something that kind of sets youayia apart? I know you've kind
of given us an introduction already, but maybe from more traditional platforms so folks
kind of know what a comparison is.
Yeah, sure. That's actually a very good question because we don't distinguish ourselves, Umayia.com,
as only a Web3 platform, but there's also a lot of Web2 users that they're actually choosing us before
many other Web2 platforms. So you might not come up. I really want to say that it's not just a
booking platform. I would say it's a lifestyle solution tailored specifically to Web3 travelers.
You know, all the time that there's there are these events, like you just mentioned,
token 2049 right now in Dubai, there's always a hassle that we need to book for the hotels and then we need to tell our
employers right oh i need to go to this place or the other ones it's kind of a hassle but right now
with with yuma while traditional platforms offer good service they're built on outdated payment
systems so high commission structures and limited customization, I would say.
So we address those pain points head on.
First, I would say we offer significantly better rates thanks to the direct partnerships that we have with travel suppliers and reduce overhead via crypto payments.
Then we're also crypto native, right?
So meaning everything from logins to payments to rewards is designed with the Web3 user in mind. Now, third, we're event focused. So we partner with top blockchain conferences to offer fully customized travel packages, making it easier for users to attend global crypto events,
which means we're not only doing B2C part, but also a lot of people that they're joining together
as a team and going from one place to another. They're always looking for us. So other Web3 travel projects, we know that they exist, but many focus only on token-based
loyalty or limited geographies. Youmy.com is going global, offering real utility,
and building partnerships with the biggest names in the space. So I think that's something that sets us apart from other companies.
Awesome. And it's great to hear kind of the support that you're offering for events as well.
Is there any more information that you can share?
I know you just touched on events and we're coming into event season.
So about like you, how have you been involved in supporting any Web3 events and conferences?
Yeah, sure. So we're proud to be official partners.
Last time, I don't know if there's so many people that they went to Hong Kong.
There was this in consensus we were there and later we became Web3 Festival sponsors as well. Right now we're preparing to
be the main sponsors for a race that is happening in Indonesia very soon, giving away a lot of
coupons to local users. We're also proud to be the official travel partners for some of the biggest
Web3 conferences in the world that they're going to happen, including probably Token249 in Singapore.
And right now we're talking with so many others like Bitcoin 2025 in Las Vegas or
even the Blockchain Week in Taiwan.
Our mission is to remove the friction of event attendance for Web3 communities by
providing exclusive hotel deals, discounted flights and all in one travel packages so
that, you know,
we avoid the hassle in all the users. And even side events access for UMI users. We work directly
with the events organizers to ensure UMI.com is integrated into their user journey. So when
someone resists us for a ticket, they can instantly plan and book their travel with crypto. These
partnerships help increase attendance, improve logistics,
and I would say give attendees a more cohesive experience.
Yeah, for someone that travels from my side quite a bit for these events,
anything that makes it easier, it's always appreciated.
So I think it will be the same for many folks on the spaces today.
Anything that kind of supports easier travel
or the fact that
we can connect then like one package and it's much easier to book hotels definitely sounds
fantastic. So let's get maybe a little bit more into like payment options. So how do fiat and
crypto payment options actually work on the platform? Like is there a specific process
depending on the service maybe? Yeah, sure.
So that's a good question, actually.
We'll design UMI to be flexible, right?
Offering users the choice to pay in traditional fiat currencies,
card or back transfer, or cryptocurrencies.
So if you choose crypto, you simply connect your wallet,
select the token you like to use, Ethereum, USDT, BNB, etc.,
and confirm the payment.
So far we have USDT and USDC.
The platform then processes the transaction
and finalizes your booking in real time.
Right now I'm at umai.com
and I'm actually booking a hotel
that we have to go from the 9th of May
till the 12th of May, three nights, right?
So I just press, I just try to book with my own name, right?
I chose in this case the the token, which is going
to be USDT. The network is going to be on Tron. And then it pops out a QR code or an address.
And then it says my payment amount. So I just connect my own wallet, connect wallet to pay,
or I just use in this case, SafePath. I open the app on SafePath and I just scan this QR code. And
then I send exactly the amount of money that shows on the page.
And then after that, the booking will be confirmed in like a few minutes.
So depending on the travel suppliers, some payments are settled directly in crypto while others are routed through our hybrid payment processor, which handles the conversion securely and instantly.
We've worked hard to make both options feel identical in terms of speed and convenience.
So users, they never feel a difference, no matter how they choose to pay.
If you guys want to try it right now, we have a $100 coupon for everybody that they
join UMI in May.
So you just have to go to umy.com, you just log in with your email, for example, and you receive a $100 coupon.
It is very easy to do, guys.
I will say that.
I mean, I've already done it.
It's very intuitive.
Yeah, I mean, it's a super easy platform to use.
And everybody loves to get a discount code.
So if anybody wants support on that, just don't hesitate to reach out.
And we appreciate you guys kind of giving that to the community as well.
That's awesome so this is a question that i always ask but i never really like to ask it as much but i think it it'll take some i think we can always take some learning from
it but has the you my team kind of faced any challenges maybe with like kind of integrating
global travel suppliers and kind of how you guys were able to overcome that?
Well, I think any company that they start from zero, right, because we didn't have a background at the beginning related to traveling. We were very big into Web3, but not traveling. So
we definitely went through some deep challenges together, but I think our team is pretty tough.
And just by achieving those challenges and getting even more people related to the travel ecosystem,
I think we made something very special.
So integrating Web3 into an industry as traditional and fragmented as global travel is not an easy task.
We know that, for example, Trip.com and Agoda and all these web tools have been there for ages already.
I'm not going to say they have the monopoly, but I would say that a lot of people um they're already biased and they would definitely just choose those ones
because they already know that that they work right they wouldn't choose a new one it's like
when you're going on a dentist why would you change to a new dentist or even a hairdresser
right i think that's the same feeling you you're kind of afraid about this new platform. So the biggest challenge was convincing suppliers as well and aggregators
to work with a platform that accepts crypto. Many had concerns about volatility, compliance,
and technical compatibility. But to overcome this, we developed the middle layer system.
So it allows us to manage fiat and crypto conversion internally and only present fiat prices
and settlements to partners if needed. So we also focus on education, helping suppliers to understand
the benefits of working with crypto native users like faster payments, lower fraud risk, and a
rapidly growing customer base. Then another challenge was handling multiple languages, currencies, and regulatory differences.
We addressed this by designing a modular platform that, you know, it adapts by region.
Actually, if you go right now on youmy.com, you will detect in which regions you are, and it's going to adapt.
So we're always, always optimizing it as we grow.
At the beginning, obviously, the website wasn't this good,
but we still have some bugs every now and then.
But I'm very, very happy of what we're achieving with UMI.
We already have more than 20,000 users every month.
A lot of people are using it.
Prices are very, very cheap, I would say.
So, yeah, I think the implementation is going very, very good. Definitely. And I can see the
amount of work that's been kind of dedicated to this and how quickly you guys are growing. So
it's really great to be involved from that side as well. And just to kind of backtrack slightly,
that it's refreshing to kind of hear that there's just that level of support for folks that maybe
aren't as comfortable with Web3 yet, but they can still utilize everything that you might have to offer.
I always appreciate that.
I think it's nice to kind of have that balance.
Okay, cool.
Thank you so much for that.
I really do always appreciate learning a little bit more about some difficulties,
especially when you're a developing project in the space.
So are there any upcoming plans maybe for e-commerce or other non-travel offerings?
Yeah, definitely. So beyond travel, we see you might become becoming a Web3 lifestyle hub,
as I mentioned. We're developing a curated e-commerce section where users can buy essential
tools for digital nomads. But it's always going to be related to traveling. So, for example, we have SIM cards and mobile Wi-Fi devices, power banks, backpacks, and even real-world utility NFTs.
So we're also working on integrating Web3 native experiences like NFT ticketing or token-gated product drops and real-world redemptions, let's say.
and real world redemptions, let's say.
Imagine earning travel rewards that you can use for a meal at a crypto-friendly coffee
or even accessing a co-working space just by showing your NFT pass.
This ecosystem approach, I think, lets you might go beyond travel,
helping users live a fully connected crypto-powered lifestyle.
Because it has happened, right?
Like you go to a place, it happened to me.
I went to Hong Kong and I didn't have the SIM card.
And then I have to pay with cash.
And then I need to change money.
And then probably the SIM card that I get, the price is going to be super high.
So I just want to travel and make it as easy as possible.
So if Yuma is able to do that to everybody, I think we have something that nobody has yet, right?
If we connect all the services that make a pain in the ass to travel, especially for us crypto nomads,
I think it's going to be very, very good in the future and the implementation will be huge.
Yeah, I feel like that's going to be greatly appreciated.
I mean, I was in Bangkok last year and it is difficult, especially when you're coming from Europe to kind of get everything organized and sorted,
especially when you're trying to rush to a conference. So anything that can support that,
I think is going to be really well accepted within the community. Okay, cool. Thank you so much for
that. So I know you touched on AI features, I think, at the beginning of the spaces.
Is there any more information that you could share with us or maybe even anything else about the roadmap for 2025?
Yeah, sure. Sorry. So the UMI AI travel assistant, I think, is a game changer.
So the YouMyAI travel assistant, I think, is a game changer.
I can't say many things yet, but it's designed to function like your personal digital helper.
So using AI to analyze your preferences, like wallet data, pass bookings, and travel goals to generate custom itineraries,
recommend you events and deals, and help you to make smarter decisions,
I think it's something
that we haven't seen yet on the travel industry. Eventually, you'll be integrated with our booking
engine to suggest the best times to travel, visa requirements, local crypto adoption levels,
and even real-time rebooking options in case of delays or cancellations. Think of it as chat GPT meeting Google Travel, but fully Web3 integrated with privacy and
personalization at the core.
That would be something that I would say everybody will be happy to see and is going to be implemented
very soon. We're still doing some touches here and there,
but the main point is to make it as easy as possible for people to travel.
We always love to get updates as well.
And as I mentioned at the beginning of the call,
this is just the beginning of this collaboration.
So I would love to have you guys back,
maybe halfway through the year or towards the end of the year,
and we can get some more updates on how everything's developing.
I think that would be pretty cool.
Okay, so I just have one more question, actually.
So seeing as it's our community call, how can Web3 communities and maybe some other projects, if there's folks on the spaces today, if they're looking to kind of collaborate with umai.com or just get involved in general?
kind of collaborate with umai.com or just get involved in general?
Yeah, that's a very good question because we're always looking for new partnerships
and we will be very happy to see if there's anybody who can be there with us.
So we actively collaborate with several projects like DAOs or some protocols
and crypto communities to create custom travel experiences.
So if you're a company that you guys are always traveling around
and you're going to Dubai, you're going here, you're going there,
we can also offer special prizes and packages tailored just for you.
This is the B2B site.
We're also doing, for example, if your project is hosting a meetup
or conferences, we can power the logistics from hotel deals
to experiences for your holders. if your project is hosting a meetup or conferences, we can power the logistics from hotel deals to
experiences for your holders. And we're also offering an affiliate and referral program for
communities, letting them monetize travel traffic while providing value to their members.
These partnerships help Web3 projects increase engagement, deliver real world utility,
and foster community bonding in physical spaces. So I would say that's something that usually is missing in digital-first ecosystems.
So if there's anybody here, I repeat that they would like to partner up with UMI
or you have some ideas, please DM us.
I'll be checking around here the DMs that we get and we can just move it forward.
Right now, we just gave to the Morph Diamond card holders,
we gave them the best prices to book in YouMyHotels.
So all the Diamond holders of Morph, for example, you can just check it out.
They're going to have 6% off in all their bookings forever.
So yeah, that's what we're doing, right?
We're trying to make it simple and easy for people to join the Web3 ecosystem, but at the same time, we're traveling. So yeah,
thank you for having us. And I hope you guys keep updated for what's coming soon.
Yeah, I've really enjoyed this space today, actually. I would love to kind of continue
chatting and maybe we can organize something else. But I just wanted to remind folks that
an announcement did go out. I think it was on the 27th of April so you might adapt is live on onto
wallet um and as I mentioned like this is just the beginning of our collaboration so watch the space
maybe for some other chats around onto id or maybe running a campaign with orange protocol but um
I don't I just I really enjoy kind of chatting with projects like you might.com where they go
out of their way to ensure that they're kind of just supporting everything that a user needs.
And I think it's just because I travel so much.
So I really look forward to kind of utilizing your services.
And, yeah, as I mentioned, guys, just go and check out the platform.
It's super easy to use.
I literally created a profile in like instantaneously nearly.
And, yeah, if anybody has any questions, don't hesitate to
reach out to me. I can connect you with the team or if there's any follow-up questions as well.
We're always here to support for that. Well, thank you so much for having us as well. We're
very happy to be able to partner up with Ontology. And I think just by having more and more people
onboarding on this Web3 travel ecosystem,
that's the way to go, to be honest.
Definitely.
And I mean, it's something that everybody
in this space does so much.
So to kind of have a platform like this developed,
it just makes so much sense.
But I really appreciate your time today.
I hope you enjoy your Friday and the weekend.
And yeah, as I said, just any questions, guys, just don't hesitate to reach out thank you guys for having us have a good day
