And, Aaron, if you want your personal account or your main account to be the feature speaker, just request to speak, and we'll bring you right up.
Hey, Sandy. Nice to be here. Yes, we will be joining with the on-chain account as well, so we'll be having it as a co-host here in just a minute.
Awesome. Awesome. That sounds great.
Okay, amazing. In the meantime, I will also post about a new product feature that we released today,
which is the light mode and dark mode for your UD profile.
I know many of you have been asking for this for quite a while.
It's a simple toggle switch at the bottom of your screen for UD.me.
So, what you do is you go to UD.me, whatever your ID is, like Sandy.onchain.
Once you click that, you'll see your profile.
If you go to the very bottom, there's the toggle switch where you can make it white or you can make it dark.
I posted mine up above, so you can take a peek at that as well.
Many thanks to Aaron and the Inch team for helping us get that one out the door.
So, if you are sitting here waiting, take a peek at that, and we will get going for sure.
I know Aaron was like, well, this is small, but it's been a request that I don't know when to have this done.
So, that's pretty awesome.
Thank you to our Inch team as well.
And we will get going here in just a few minutes.
And we're real excited to talk about OnChain and everything that that means, kind of where things are going with OnChain.
Everything fits together.
I think that will be, I think we'll have a very interesting conversation.
You're going to be super glad that you are here.
We'll get going here in just a second.
Aaron, where are you right now?
Where are you in the world?
I'm in the cold, dark Sweden here.
I mean, just passing the 24-hour mark also since we launched.
So, I haven't seen much sun since this.
But it's still been a very, very nice 24 hours, I have to say.
Well, it's awesome, Aaron, because you know what?
You also have down below, you have Agitian who launched .u.
You also have Sheikh Fahim down who launched .amir.
So, he's also listening in, two super fast-growing TLDs.
I see lots of our whales down here, too.
Thank you guys for all listening in and joining us.
And shall we go ahead and get started?
Or do you want to wait for your main account?
Yeah, I can see the account here next to myself.
Greg, can you see that account?
And if so, can you let it in?
I'm also still seeing Aaron you as a listener, not as a speaker.
So, there must be something weird going on with.
I can hear you right now, you know, with this.
So, yeah, make sure that you're posting out the Twitter space.
You can just do that simply by doing a share off of your tweets.
If you could do that, that would be great.
And if you can follow all of the speakers, follow Aaron, follow onchain.org
as we're going through this as well.
So, Greg, are you able to accept that request coming in?
I cannot, for some reason.
I actually don't even see it right now on Twitter.
Maybe he's in a location he can't speak.
So, let me just go to Slack real quick and we'll get going.
Twitter spaces has been really fun lately, I have to say.
We had to do a geese in space twice.
For .amir, it wouldn't let us start the space that we already had so many people signed up for.
We had to cancel that space and start another.
So, here we are again in a situation where I can't actually see this request.
So, I'm trying to see if Greg can see it and we can go from there.
Yeah, the on-chain one with the orange logo there.
But I think all good to go either way.
Okay, let me just, I can't do anything.
Let's see if Greg can help us out.
Unfortunately, I can't see the request coming in.
Well, let's go ahead and get started.
We're going to start first by just welcoming the on-chain.org into the UD family.
And to all of the love that we have for you and all of the fun that's in this.
Before we start about, you know, what the difference is between on-chain and online, Aaron, could you just share with the listeners a little bit more about you and about on-chain.org, the foundation, et cetera, as well?
So, thanks again for having us.
Looking back at the origin, I would say, of the foundation, obviously, we're named on-chain foundation, but it was not always like this.
I would say the foundation is, we're entering the ninth year now.
So, we've been in the space for a while, and originally, I would say we started off by developing Lisk as a layer one back in 2016.
And still, this project is live.
Currently, today is a layer two on Ethereum.
But with time, we also had this vision, why we started Lisk, was to onboard more people to Web3.
And I think with time, this has also changed what we call it.
We have heard blockchain, we've heard Web3, and nowadays, obviously, on-chain is the thing that we're hearing.
And we really believe that it's something different from what we heard before, looking back at on-chain or Web3 and blockchain in general,
because those are words more connected to the technology or the specific stage that the web is in right now.
And comparing that with being online, which is something that's stuck around, and it's kind of how you make your presence online.
I mean, you kind of state something there.
And that's how we see on-chain as well.
So, for us, it's all about bringing more people on-chain.
And with that, the foundation also has been, I would say, introducing new ways to do it beyond building,
allowing people to build on the technology stack that we have.
We also launched on-chain.org, which I think we can probably pin here in a minute,
where it's all about inspiring people to build things.
And obviously, we do it in an unbiased way to go over the different technologies that exist there
and stories of how people are bringing more people on-chain.
Because I think it's a word that stuck around.
And I think, as you noticed, we renamed the whole foundation from the LISC Foundation to the On-Chain Foundation last year at some point.
And it's the main mission going forward to bring more people on-chain.
And recently, we've almost spent a year now doing research and published our research,
which we mainly aim at entrepreneurs, businesses to get inspired,
not only understanding the whole financial part of it or the technological part of it,
but why you should be on-chain.
Why does it make a difference?
And why is it the new online, I would say?
So, yeah, we've been through the ups and downs, I would say, in the industry for almost 10 years now.
And, yeah, we really believe that on-chain is the new online, as you also mentioned.
So, looking forward to bringing this domain also out there,
because I think we'll be definitely speaking more about that today.
But, yeah, that's a little bit about the foundation.
And, yeah, we are a foundation registered in Switzerland.
And beyond that, we have also been, in the last year, developing more things to bring people on-chain.
So, last year, or very recently also, we published our smart wallet,
so we can find PassApp available.
So, for us, it's having the technology stack,
but also having people being onboarded to the technology itself through wallets,
but also giving the people the reason to build more things on-chain
and bring more people on-chain, I would say.
And I think you guys all know that when online started,
I was just watching the other day the Today Show, which is a show here in the U.S.,
and they spent 45 minutes explaining what does it mean to be online?
What does it mean to be on the Internet?
We're in the same, I think, situation today,
where if you look at on-chain,
on-chain is starting to go around in crypto Twitter,
but yesterday we had a chance to speak to the great folks of the Austin mayor's office,
and we spent, again, about 30 minutes explaining what on-chain means.
And obviously, you guys know on-chain is simply having a new era
where assets, identity, and data all live on the blockchain.
They don't live in a centralized location.
And so it's quite interesting to see how online and on-chain both will evolve and come around.
I also remember when on-chain was on-dashline.
So everybody would do on-dashline for online,
and then slowly it became online.
And the same thing we see is happening right now with on-chain.
I still see on-chain and some press releases and things versus on-chain,
which we think will evolve as well.
So this word is, I think, a super powerful word,
which is one of the things that makes it pretty spectacular for a TLD,
and one I think that will stand the test of time as well.
Erin, as we move on, I would like maybe you,
just so we can get started and level set, everyone,
give us the highlights of the on-chain announcement that we did yesterday
and, you know, what this partnership means as well.
So I would say, yeah, for us, it's something completely new
compared to what we're usually announcing and doing.
So, again, for all of us, it's all about bringing more people on-chain.
And as I mentioned before, doing it through technology,
doing it through different wallet applications,
and also doing it through stories and inspiration
on how to build more people on-chain.
But I think what we did yesterday,
the biggest highlight was definitely to see so many people
engaging with the world itself.
I think this is the main thing that we're looking for to do here,
is to spread the whole on-chain presence
and allowing more people to, you know,
obviously transact in a way easier way.
We've definitely been, everybody's been using wallet addresses
and looking at the complexity around those,
but also at how you kind of state your brand out there.
Currently, we have usually domains that we're used to,
also from the Web2 space,
where you want to be fast to kind of grab your attention
and state your presence in your business,
whether it being something that's commercially attracted.
And in the past, I think usually we've been seeing .com
as the player there in the space.
But for us having this avenue
where brands can basically have a place
where they can promote their brand
and also communicate with their audience
seeing that and also looking back at,
yeah, the whole beyond the announcement as well.
I think I stayed on Twitter all night yesterday
and seeing all the positive things that were mentioned
and also chatting with people in general.
Like, I saw people mentioning that
this is the first and the only TLD
that they will ever need for their business.
So that was super cool to see that
people understand the value
behind having such a powerful domain
and how it connects with your business
and also creates new business ideas
and initiatives out of it.
So, yeah, it was really a successful thing
to make sure people get the word out there
in terms of what is on-chain
and obviously can go to our website
There is way more things than the domain itself
that we're talking about there.
So, no, it was a really successful 24 hours
and I'm definitely looking forward
I know you mentioned there are some other TLDs here.
I would love to have a chat with you also
and see where are we heading in the industry
and what are the next things to think about
when it comes to having Web3 TLDs?
Yeah, that would be great.
I see Maddie just joined us as well.
which was also another very successful TLD.
So I think that he would also love
to chat with you as well.
So what we announced yesterday
is a new TLD or top-level domain.
A top-level domain is simply a naming service
that you can use like a .com or .ai
this .on-chain lives on-chain,
and has definitely certain features
and superpowers that you all can use
So we did that announcement yesterday.
There is a couple of ways
that you can grab your own .on-chain
and we encourage you to grab one
for your personal identity
as well as for your company identity as well.
You know, just take a peek out there
and if you go up to the pinned tweets at the top,
you'll see one that talks about the light and dark mode,
which was one of the features
I talked about at the front end.
But the second one has a link
and you can go grab your .on-chain
or you can just buy it from our direct site,
unstoppabledomains.com as well
if you want to grab your own as we do that.
And let me just talk a little bit now
about you did decide to launch this
Right now, I think you're the 11th or 12th TLD
We have almost 20,000 domains
Majority today are minted on Polygon,
over 4 million on Polygon,
about 400,000 on Ethereum.
So talk to us about why base?
Why did you decide to go with base
as your minting platform?
I would say a couple of reasons behind this.
I've always seen base and Coinbase
sharing the same vision as on-chain in general,
even back when we were called LISC,
of bringing more people on-chain.
And I think the way they have developed Coinbase
and developed base in general,
and I think it's something we definitely relate with.
And also partners from the superchain,
I would say it's just a lot of things
that go hand in hand together.
So definitely, I would say the main thing
that they share the same vision
of bringing more people on-chain
and also the way they've been doing it,
developing great products
I mean millions of people already relate with.
For us, it was an obvious choice going forward there.
And also looking at how we kind of simultaneously
started to use this word on-chain.
And I think it's so many things
that kind of align together in this sense.
So for us, it was just obvious to choose base.
And I think super happy with the choice
and definitely we'll keep on building with base
I think it's one of the leading layer twos out there.
And saying that with also having LISC behind us.
So I think definitely looking at the market,
definitely, and yeah, the vision in general.
I think everything is coming together.
And I think it's nice that on-chain
is also bringing these things together.
And I know we had some questions this morning.
Are you guys building a marketplace for base?
We are finalizing our marketplace
Once we get it finalized on Polygon
with all the features and functions
shouldn't be too much longer.
Then we will move that marketplace over to base.
And then again to Solana and to Sonic
and et cetera, et cetera, abstract.
So we're just waiting for a good solid base.
Otherwise, we have to make changes
in every single platform.
So that's the reason why we are,
we don't have a marketplace yet for base,
but it will be coming soon.
I know that was a big question
that we saw pop up in several groups this morning.
So go ahead and buy your on-chain.
The marketplace will be coming in base for sure.
And make sure that you're ready to go.
You can do everything else though
You're able to use it as your gaming tag.
You can use it for group chats,
for messaging, et cetera.
We'll get into some of those utilities
how the partnership came up with you guys.
Like what was really the driver?
Why did you decide to do a domain, a TLD?
it was always something we believe
it's something is needed in the space,
looking at the technological part
of using wallet addresses.
And then also looking at,
yeah, what was available out there.
everything was generally connected
to something that's a brand
or something that is maybe personally connected.
And the way I saw it is basically,
we need something out there
that states why are you in this space?
And what is the main thing?
Like what is the new online?
So looking at how we could bring on-chain out there
apart from just communicating it in social media,
obviously our name is also on-chain,
but having something people could interact with
on a daily basis that is on-chain
and that's also called on-chain.
I think that was something important
and obviously connecting it together
with having a complicated wallet address
is something that really goes hand in hand
So yeah, it was always finding
this super powerful niche,
I think that really states why you're here
and why you should be here.
And I know it's a bit longer than .com maybe,
but at least it's shorter than your wallet address.
So I think definitely it's something that we're using
and we'll be keeping it to use in the future as well.
So yeah, I would say to summarize that,
yeah, having something people could grab
and understand, yeah, this is on-chain
and I am on-chain basically by using the domain.
Yeah, I was just looking last night, Aaron,
and Aaron and his team was very thoughtful
My first email with Aaron was back in March of 2024
when we first got connected.
And so, you know, he and his team
have been working through this, thinking about it.
And in fact, Aaron, the first address I had for you
was the LightCurve address, not the on-chain address.
I would say, yeah, we've been through this.
It was the old name that existed at some point.
And yeah, we also discussed about LISC.
So it's definitely been a while now
that we've been really thinking this through.
that there was this collaboration coming up with BASE,
I think that was when we felt,
This is like all the stars are aligning here.
So, but I'm happy it took this time
and I'm happy that we made such a successful launch here
thinking about everything that's coming up.
I know we didn't talk so much about the future yet
of what this domain holds,
but happy to get there as well.
So, so, you know, some of our launches,
because the partner has something coming up.
Some of them we take time
and we're just very thoughtful
and spend time to get them out the door.
All are, you know, wicked successful.
I think Aguilson's on the line probably laughing
because I think we did his in like two weeks.
Up and going and everything as well,
So there's no right or wrong.
It's just kind of an interesting story
about how the partnership came.
I actually ran into OnChain at one of the conferences
and that's how I met them.
you would love to see all of the people
taking credit for the partnership.
There's lots of them out there
and I appreciate everybody.
When you guys see something that's really cool
and you're like, wow, this could be a great TLD,
make sure you reach out to me
potentially go talk to them or work with them
or whatever because, you know,
the stars all aligned with DotOnChain as well.
Erin, I'd love to talk a little bit
and there's lots of features and functions
with that TLD that can help you with a community.
How do you envision DotOnChain
strengthening your community as well?
I think, yeah, generally looking at
at the community and the audience
that we're communicating with
and doing all of this for,
it's mainly focused out of businesses,
and generally people who would like to build,
maybe not just using the word developers in this case.
And also, it's something that we connected well
with the badges that you can earn
basically where we want to connect
the community and understanding
this journey of building in Web3
and building something on-chain,
but also how you progress
through these different stages.
So, just looking at our badges,
I mean, it starts off by OnChain Explorer.
So, I think that we've all been there
at some point exploring what is OnChain,
we kind of see this journey
as an entrepreneur of pioneering in an idea,
navigating through the whole,
I would say, sea of information
that's available about OnChain,
which is the word to choose from.
I think it's OnChain, definitely.
But also, navigating through this system
and being a bit more connected.
So, looking at the community itself,
it's people that are new into Web3.
that are looking to build something
having something like this
to immediately connect with
and kind of start their business,
it's like when you initially start
usually you go and buy a .com domain
just to kind of protect that brand
and slowly start developing something on that.
And I think that this is something
even before they start their own business.
connect their idea with something
that's, in this case, on-chain.
So, I think having this tool
just spin it off from there,
when still not being in Web3,
kind of thinking about an idea.
And I think that's something,
Obviously, it's not the first TLD out there
but I think it's really something
that states your presence
and something that's long-term.
Web3, which kind of states
not the idea of where you are in general.
So, also looking at maybe
I think that's really cool,
connecting the TLDs itself
it also brings the community
to connect with that brand
on a more personal level.
So, I see a lot of opportunities here
and state their presence,
while maybe the branded TLDs
with their audience itself.
So, I would say something
and state their presence on-chain.
on-chain really drives community,
both from a domain perspective,
but I think just the concept
of on-chain also drives community.
And I think that, you know,
this is really a powerful concept
But let's talk about the,
in a long 21-character digit address,
you can just use sandy.onchain.
One of my favorite use cases, too,
to sandy.onchain as well.
very difficult wallet address
So, no longer do I have to,
on-chain community of apps.
and hundreds of applications
you can use sandy.onchain
And with all those badges
is built on those badges,
this entrepreneurial journey,
