Alright, let's get started. Thanks everyone for joining again. Good to see so many familiar faces in the audience. My name is Tim, the host for today's Kucoin Fireside Chat and the head of social operations here at Kucoin. And yeah, so today, you know, coming off the three parts of
VR series we had over the past three days. We have another very exciting project in the space and I believe you guys joined us before for Kucoin Fireside Chat. So welcome back, Mary, the CEO of Seek Metaverse.
Hello, thanks for inviting me very excited to be here and hello everyone. Awesome. So, yeah, so maybe not everyone has tuned in the previous coupon fireside chat.
If you can, Mary, maybe go ahead and give a high-level intro to your background as well as the project. Sure, definitely. So, seek Metaverse. We are one of the original Metaverse streaming platform we launched in 2016.
just focused on creating metaverse applications. We've worked with Apple, Meta, and also have creators such as Lady Gaga, Bon Jovi, and the list goes on that I actually use our platform or are using our platform
and everything is tracked on the blockchain and the central currency in AppKurne is the seek token. - Yeah, so let's dive deeper into that. You said you were the first metaverse.
streaming platform is that correct? That's correct. That's correct. We're the first metaverse streaming platform because when we started back in 2016 most of the VR companies were focused on gaming. From the very beginning we focused on
creating a metaverse where people could go and watch theaters, be in a movie studio, or distribute their music. And also we created these social spaces, these venues throughout where people could socialize
And then later on, we decided to integrate the blockchain for tracking purposes and also to enable easier and automatic payments to a lot of our creators that are located around the globe.
So from a web 3/block to an outside of things, what does the Seek token do and are there NFTs in the metaverse? I talked a little bit more about that utility. Yes, so the Seek token itself, what it does is it tracks all the content usage. So we're
We are working through NFTs through virtual concerts and other unique VR experiences. All of these experiences are tracked on the blockchain for transparency and most importantly for automatic
payments of creators through smart contracts. And that's the core application of the C-Token. In the past, even companies such as Microsoft have looked at how can they create a streaming token template using C-C and these are all things that are still in the works.
Got it. And, you know, let's talk a little bit more about the partnerships you mentioned. I think Bon Jovi, Lady Gaga. How did you manage to get in touch with them, especially in the early days? And what have
you know what have you done with those partnerships? I think I think you mentioned a few other partnerships as well. Yes, so in the early days because we were the first to look at creating an actual digital service
you know, provider or platform for creators to be able to not only create a one-off but be able to distribute their content in the metaverse, in virtual worlds, be able to do tracking entitlements, global, you know,
global licensing and so on. It was a way the platform itself attracted the serious players because this was a problem that they were looking to solve. They did not want to have to create content for
multiple platforms, HTC Viad Meta, and so on. So it was the product itself and the viability of the product, the fact that they could use Seek to create content once and then distribute it to all these virtual
world, also to Smart TVs. We also created a very easy to use product that was targeted, that is targeted at mainstream users making it very normal and easy to use VR and Web 3 products.
So that's how we were able to attract a lot of the big players early on. And then also we have our leadership has very strong relationships and experience in the verticals that we have been providing value to.
So walk me through the logistics behind that. So let's say I am an artist, I want to host a concert within the Seek Metaverse. How does it actually work? Does your team just handle everything?
from a development side of things or how does that work? So from if you're an artist you would we have a creative toolbox that is made available to some of the artists and labels that we've worked with. We're also
So, releasing, you know, by the end of this year, that making it available for every artist that completes verification to be able to also upload, you know, their content and distribution
distributed wherever we are. So whether it's distributing that content to Oculus or to HTC or to Smart TVs and so on and so forth. So that creator toolbox will enable not just the mega, you know,
And the partners that we're working with, but pretty much it just will democratize the ability to monetize content through NFTs, through virtual concerts, and unique experiences in the metaverse.
Awesome. I'd like to shift the focus a little bit more to Apple since obviously their release of their new product as well as the focus and title of this Twitter space specifically. So what could pass the have you guys work with Apple in the past?
So with Apple from the very beginning, we worked with them as a promotional partner. So we received the opportunity for them to fund promotional opportunities with SEAC. And so for all of our users,
users that purchased our VR headset for our users that subscribed, they would receive the Apple gift card or the gift code which is an integration that was built into the C platform from the very beginning and we worked
closely with them as well as with the team to build the integration into the platform. And currently we're looking at SDKs to enable us to be one of the first applications on the Vision Pro.
And how do you see the Apple headset affect metaverse tokens overall from a macro stats aside of things and what are the implications for what three I mean obviously from a macro side of things AI and VR have had a lot of
How do all three VR, AI and what three kind of conversion and how do you see that developing? I think that the biggest contributor that the vision pro, the app or vision pro launch will have is the awareness that it's going to create.
right, with over 2.2 billion iPhone units and growing, that's mass awareness that's going to be created. In addition to that, I think Apple is able to really normalize technologies
So to normalize how people interact with Web 3 and also create a lot of new use cases that people haven't necessarily thought about. But the winners, I believe, would be the metaverse and
ARVR and AI tokens because Web 2 was all about influence but with Web 3 we're moving to ownership. I think the novelty of just likes has really worn for creators, for users, for everyone
Now people are looking at ownership and so we cannot take the same Web 2 concepts into Web 3. So it will create mass awareness for everyone and then on top of that it will enable the metaverse tokens to really thrive.
Got it. And how will seek specifically benefit from the launch of the Vision Pro?
So, yeah, see, specifically our, you know, the way we look to benefit one is the fact that it's creating this mass mass awareness for VRAR. We've already seen increase in signups in terms of people that are downloading
the app, especially in one of the first that was actually in the Apple marketplace with the ARVR and AI product. So it's already creating awareness of our product and it will also enable
to have a bigger reach. So now not only can users access the application from places like Meta Oculus and the App Store, but they will also be able to access it in places like the Vision Pro.
Awesome and I want to zoom out a little bit Mary and talk a little bit more about your roadmap I know you guys have achieved have achieved so much since 2016 already But how do you see seek developing over the next five years? So the way we see seek developing over the next five years is continue
We're continuing to have creators at the center of everything that we do. And when we look at creators, we're not only looking at musicians or bands that we worked with, but also we're looking at sports teams. We're looking at enabling athletes.
influencers, again, to go from just influencing to ownership. We're looking at enabling all creators, also builders, people that are building not just NFTs, like when people think of NFTs, they're just thinking of
of, let's say, a pixelated GIF, but we're looking at a lot of real life utility, whether it's, you know, for example, we have a launch coming with one of the, with the Dwayne Wade Televides Sports Academy, where their physical merchandise
is now being tokenized as NFTs that will have real utility inside of the Seek Metaverse. So for example, you can run faster in there, you can jump higher with the shoes. And if you want to, you can also even buy the actual physical product.
The whole world is looking at how do we coexist with the physical and the digital, how do we introduce real utility and the real utility that we're introducing over, you know, that we've already introduced, we're continuing to introduce and provide the infrastructure for
anyone to be able to really monetize and benefit from all of that. And so over the next few years we see growth to hundreds of millions of users and ultimately we won billions of users of the Seek platform and the Seek tokens.
Awesome. And Mary, I'd like to know more about whether C has any exciting news and updates coming up. But before that, let's give the audience a chance to ask a few questions. First of all, first up, we have Justin. Justin, you want to go ahead and ask your question.
Justin, I think you're muted there.
All right, why don't we get someone else up here, give me one second.
divine go ahead
is it possible to hold an event on seek Metaverse as a non-silevative person and how optimized is your Metaverse actually I tried two or three Metaverse
people and they are not fully optimized. So, whatever your meta words, thank you.
Yeah, his question. His question was, is the Sikh metaverse optimized? He's tried other metaverses that are not optimized and also is it possible for anyone to host an event in the Sikh metaverse?
We have made it possible for anyone to buy land virtual land in the Seek Metaverse and With the land they would be able to Have venues inside of the land that allows them to host not only their own events but also to host events for other creators that
on the platform and we are not limiting the platform is not limited to just super stars. That's a way in which we're creating awareness but ultimately the platform is for everyone. Our focus is on accessibility and making sure that
And yet everyone can have access to the metaverse. They can create their presence and they can also create ways to earn rewards, ways to earn inside of the metaverse. So it's really it's for everyone. In terms of optimization, that's ongoing. We're still super early days.
days when it comes to Web 3, there are a lot of protocols being developed. And so that's I think that the biggest takeaway for anyone that's using any of the metaverse applications is to realize how, you know, what an exciting time it is for them to be here so early.
like seeing the early stages of Apple or Facebook or any of that, Twitter, all of that. So optimization is an ongoing process. Even in the next few weeks we have a whole makeover that's coming that you will see for
or our mobile application, but optimization is continuous and ongoing for us. Awesome. Okay, so next up we have Scott. Scott go ahead. Okay, so I thought that you develop a many product which is
advantage when it can meet almost the needs of user. However, does developing many products make management difficult? So, how do you insert the quality of your product and we have any plan to add more features to your platform?
Yeah, that's a really good question in terms of the products that we built. Right? So when we started, we believed that in order to make mainstream adoption of the metaverse and mainstream adoption of the RAI,
you we needed to do the hardware and also software integration. If you look at what Apple is doing with the Vision Pro, it's the same thing that they did for digital music with the iPod because before you had all these MP3 players but nobody had
integrated it to where you can just have one product and you could very easily, you know, sip through music and all of that. And that's what Sikh has been building for the Metaverse is an integrated hardware software solution. It's more
difficult, but it's also very necessary when you look at platforms, it has to be easy for users so they don't have to download several applications just to be able to experience different worlds. And then also for creators, they have
to be able to create once and access all these different metaverse and virtual worlds. And so that's what we've been building. We have a lot of features. We have the ability to now game inside of the application game to win.
not just seek but we're extending that to a lot of our partners also. So we're building these social spaces. I think the reason why it kind of looks like a lot is because when you think of Web 2, you know, like for example, we're in spaces now, it's in
your feed when you think about entering the metaverse. I think it's still very people see it as being very complicated and that's what we're making all of that easy to use. And then once that aspect has been normalized, then you just have more and more features that you use without really
been thinking about those. So we have more features that are coming and everything is completely integrated. And we have the team to do that. You know, we have one of the best teams in the world that has been very, very dedicated since the beginning and continue, you know, to build great
products, we built products for the likes of Boeing and Microsoft and Apple and Amazon. So these are the same people that have come together to build, seek and make use of the blockchain, cryptocurrency and AI as seamless as possible.
I'd like to just like to know your thoughts on how the Metaverse, specifically within Web3, there's a bunch of Metaverse projects, but it seems that you guys have
Sorry, not to not you not seek specifically, but I read that a lot of these you know, metaverse projects have had a hard time getting mass adoption. What do you think the main barrier is? Is it really the you know, just being in a bear market or is it something else?
It's a combination of that. And what I see, I saw a meme the other day where it said what I thought the metaverse looked like versus what it actually looks like and what they thought it looked like was like a pixelated gift and then what it actually looks like was a super realistic environment within Sikhs.
I think that with any technology, without mainstream adoption, it's very, very difficult to push it forward. And a lot of Metaverse Project just focused, made it super, super niche. And then it's also very difficult, you know, for me,
mainstream users to understand creating the wallets and transfer and coins and buying coins and doing all of that. And so for us, because we're focused on mainstream adoption, we're consistently focused on integrations, right? How can we make it easy if you're trying to get coins on Kucoin to be able to
then purchase products inside of the Seek Metaverse. So if when you log in and everything is integrated and then also the types of content and how it's been presented and made super easy, we're meeting users exactly where
they are. And that is something that's been missing from a lot of the existing projects. And that's also something that I believe that the Vision Pro is going to bring to the process because now you're going to have billions of users being educated on the metaverse, billions of users
being given access to the metaverse and then the next step after they've been introduced is then they'll be able to navigate and maneuver more easily. And I feel like for a lot of metaverses, they've kind of done it backwards.
the technology in the complexities of the technology first rather than the user experience because imagine if you had to understand the underlying technology in order to be able to post to Instagram or YouTube or any of these places then the
adoption will not be as wide as it's been. And so for us, it's been making the application as simple as posting to Instagram to enter the metaverse and creating your own world as simple as uploading to YouTube. So that's been a big hurdle for most projects.
>> Awesome. And Mary, I'd just like to give you the chance to give any final thoughts or any, let the audience know if there's any exciting news or updates for Seek or where to find more information about you guys before we wrap things up.
exciting things, you know, on the horizon. We're super excited. We have our NFT marketplace that's upcoming, which features a lot of products from inside of the metaverse. And so for example, I mentioned you will be able to buy
everything from avatar wearable shoes, etc. that will enable you to have an advantage whether you're playing basketball or you know running to win and earn, uh, seek in the in the matter of verse. Um, so these NFTs have
real in-world utility and then they also have utility in the metaverse. So we're excited about that upcoming release. We continue to partner with more household names and with those household names we're
working on enabling their own worlds inside of the metaverse that will also have exciting products for their fan base and all of this. It's leading towards continuing to grow.
And we're super excited, you know, we continue to work with meta, we continue to work with Microsoft and we continue to work with Apple. So we are looking to, you know, get there. And we're very, very excited.
about everything that's happening. And just stay tuned. Yeah, follow us on @Seek on Twitter. And also you can find out a lot more about what we're doing on seek.io, seek.com. And yeah, we're super excited.
Awesome. Thank you very much, Mary, for joining us and for those listening. As always, this is only an informational and entertainment purposes and not financial advice. Mary, very happy to have you back on and hope to see you again next time. Thank you. Thank you very much. All right. Bye-bye. Bye-bye, everyone.
