I'm excited for all of you to join us today.
We're hosting both Mike and Franklin, two minds behind some of the majesty of the Nova
Pangaea world, and today is a very special day as well.
These guys took a night off, like I was just saying, from their Stream World Tour, and
they're joining us on Twitter here on Wax Wednesday to talk all about Nova War.
It's an exciting new play mode coming to a Nova Pangaea realm near you.
I'm really happy that you came and joined us on Wax Wednesday.
Yeah, I think, Mike, go ahead.
Yeah, I'm at work at the full-time job, so I'm kind of hiding out.
Maybe nobody will find me, so I can talk to you guys.
Time to take a lunch break.
So let me go into our bios here for our guests.
So first, let me introduce Mike.
Mike Hales from Atlanta, Georgia, with a shout-out to Rhode Island.
If you've been in this space, you know Mike's not new to the gaming sphere either.
In the early 2000s, he was already shaping narratives with project heavyweights like
Barbie Girls from Mattel or Coke Studios, and then also Willy Wonka.
You fast-forward today, and he's now the co-founder and CEO of Nova Pangaea, a multiplayer
economy strategy game with PVP just around the corner.
That's why we're here today.
And when Mike's not immersing himself in Nova Pangaea, he's chilling with family, hitting
the golf greens, or brainstorming about the game with trusted members from the community.
So Mike, thank you so much for coming today.
Thank you for that epic intro.

So let me go ahead and introduce Franklin now.
So Franklin, he said he does a full-time job.
He actually works the full-time as a law enforcement officer at a small police department
He got involved in NFTs in the WAC blockchain after Elon Musk kept talking about Dogecoin.
So he was looking for something similar and found Banano.
The Banano discord led to CryptoMonkeys, which had an alien world's land to mine on.
And then so he started mining and, you know, how many people kind of got their start here?
After spending some time here with WACs, Franklin came very involved member of the Nova
And in April last year, Franklin got a position as their community manager.
And that's where we are now.
So almost two years later and still growing.
While not managing the vibrant Nova Pangaea community, Franklin balances time between his
full-time job and church and on top of being married for over two decades with two grown
up kids who still live at home, Franklin, welcome.
It's nice to get away and hang out with you guys every once in a while and get away from
So again, first off, let me just say welcome back to WACs Wednesday.
You joined us for our so long 2023 space at the end of last year.
And that kind of led, started the buildup for today's space.
And I'm always excited to watch and participate in the streams or spaces with you guys because
There's always such great energy.
There's always such a good vibe and it's always fun.
So let's get into our interview now.
Usually when I run these spots, the spaces, we'll do interviews and then we'll have questions
from the audience at the end.
I got so many questions and I don't want to take up all the time.
So if you're down below and you have a question, go ahead and raise your hand.
I think a lot of our questions may overlap.
So I want to give you all a chance to come up and participate and ask your questions
to these two creators as well.
Let's get to the stage and then you can ask your NovaPengio, your Nova War questions to
First off, so Nova War, right?
That's the big, the big update.
So what let me, my first question was adding a PvP mode, something that was always in the
cards for NovaPengio or is this something that came about after you initially launched
It was from the beginning.
It was a commitment we made to the community at the very beginning and we wanted to fulfill
So with PvP battles and stuff like that, what else, it's not just PvP battles, right?
I've been tuning in a little bit to the World Tour and I've been hearing little whispers
maybe about some of the features that will come with the PvP battles, like do you want
to touch maybe a little bit, maybe on some leaderboards or the rankings that you mentioned?
The game studio we're working with, they did a phenomenal job, especially since this
is going to be, you know, it's just a beta and it's not MVP, I'm going to move out of
the project going live and they honestly exceeded my expectations on everything they got done
On the outside of the normal, you know, the PvP side, we have it.
We actually have four different leagues and each league has different rewards, but we
have leaderboards for each of those leagues.
Every player has their own, anytime you blend cards or you win a battle or lose a battle,
you do unexperience points.
You can level up you as a player as well as your unexperienced points for your individual
hero NFTs and then they can level up automatically.
On top of that, you can blend your heroes cards and your weapons up into epics.
You cannot blend as of now up until legendary or mythics.
We will have to look at that later, but we're pretty cautious of, you know, oversaturating
the market with legendaries and mythics so you can only get those now in the packs
or in secondary in the future.
We have an item shop, so you can go and get a whole bunch of different types of items for
PvP battle, which is potions, holy water, which is kind of a revive, so in case your character
is KO'd, you can use the holy water.
We have boosts for different buffs for your agility, for your magic defense, magic offense,
You know, a lot of those different items you can bring into the game, yeah, we have a
You can add different attacks to your weapons, so depending on your rarity, your weapon,
it comes with default attacks and depending on your rarity, you get additional empty
slots where you can actually use our novo to customize it with your own attacks and,
you know, we built the framework so we can easily scale with additional attacks in the
future, which we'll get that from our community over the next month of, you know, what we
miss, what you think will make it more exciting, so we look forward to add those, and we set
up the system so it's a light lift for that stuff.
I love what, one of the things I love about it so much is the fact that it's so customizable,
like Mike said, there's, it's not your just standard common weapon versus common weapon
or epic weapon versus an epic beats uncommon every time.
There's so many different things you can add to the weapons and to the characters just
to make it your own and just so much strategy involved in it, which is what I love about
It doesn't feel like you're playing boiler plate, just clicker PVP game on a blockchain.
There's just so much customizing that you can do.
Yeah, I really like with when you have all these different types of different items coming
into play with different abilities and such, you can add a real deep, you can make it
much, there's more depth to the strategy, there's more depth to like the type of
player and what you can kind of accomplish in your battles.
What about, like, so I want to ask also, kind of covered leaderboards, I know you mentioned
yellow last night, what about, is there going to be any tournaments or special events coming
I know we're just in beta, maybe I'm asking too soon, but those are fantastic questions
because the community members asked the same question.
So this next month coming up, February is definitely for us to get our, you know, community
feedback, most importantly, and what they do like, don't like, you know, and just understand
I definitely want to make sure the gameplay is fun for them before anything else.
But we do have plans, like I mentioned, we have four different leagues, so we would
So as an entry for battle, you have to, you know, there's a battle fee of obsidian, and
the winner gets all the obsidian, but you also have to do a novo fee, and that will
be going into a pool, and we'll be using the majority of that in the pool for each league
We have to see, before I, you know, the team to come up with a distribution of it
amongst the winners, we kind of have to have an idea of how many battles each season
can have in a two week or month period to realize, to understand the size of the pool
that needs to be contributed, or do we need to double it with our reserve.
So yeah, we're definitely looking at different seasons, and that's the low hanging
fruit we can do, since we already have the leaderboard set up.
But one thing that we want to get much better at, not just in PVP, the economy style is
having type of, you know, we have districts or they, you know, a lot of people call them
the guilds, battling together in tournaments.
One thing I love about classic clans is the clan wars.
So that's, you know, that's in the future, if, you know, that's a very popular item for
But at the very least, we definitely have seasonal events, as well as, you know, our
We're definitely going to have streaming tournaments, because Franken loves to stream.
Yeah, that's like my favorite thing, is the streaming.
Which is why I've been trying to get Tommy back home.
He says he's coming back home next month.
Yeah, I'm definitely, I'm opening up my schedule.
This January, I definitely bit off more than I could chew these first couple of weeks.
And it's, I'm catching up, I'm catching up.
Yeah, I would love to join another pack with you guys.
What about it is with the streaming?
It seems like NovaPangaea has a strong streaming community.
Is that why you chose to do the world streaming tour?
As your link mode of like kind of doing the marketing, this like kind of round the campaigning?
Or sharing the information, I mean?
I think the streaming is very important, because, you know, a lot of these projects
that web today, and this doesn't make a difference what chain it is, a lot of community
members kind of have baggage from previous projects.
So the streaming really, you know, builds trust amongst the community as in not just
a noble community, the greater wealthy community, especially people who do not know us intimately.
So you know, having a face, having a voice, you know, it's not, you know, you can see
bi-language, you can see if Franklin's bullshitting or I'm bullshitting or whatever.
You can really see that through the streams.
So I really, I really think it's a great tool just to kind of build that brand and project
trust with the community.
And it allows them to direct access, ask us whatever questions and, you know, what's better
than that, you know, seeing a live demo on stream.
Like you said, I agree with the whole thing about it, building trust as a consumer first
whenever I came to Nova Benjia.
It was all about watching the projects and did I really want to buy into this one?
Because I mean, it might not be around in three months after I spend money on it.
And the fact that, the fact that Mike and the rest of the team are so accessible and
you can get on stream and just talk face to face to the, the lead of the, of the team.
It really means a lot to people like me.
Even before I came on the team, even now, I mean, I'm still a consumer.
I, you know, I get, I'm, I'm a big player myself and Nova Benjia and I enjoy playing.
And it, it means a lot to me to be able to have access to Mike and ask those questions
on stream, just like everybody else does.
And he's very accessible to be able to ask those questions too.
And, and you could, you could tell if you ask him something he doesn't know the answer
to, he's happy to tell you, you know, Hey, I'm not sure about that.
We'll check into it and you can get a lot through a stream than more through a stream
than you can through a discord message.
I think that being able to see the person you're talking to and the body language,
a lot of communication is not verbal.
So that's a great, great, great thing to call out.
So next question here I got is, when, when, right?
When, when Nova war, when can players expect to try their luck against others
So, um, I know that's what Tiago just joined.
He's a, he leads up the gaming studio.
So he's the lead developer at Nova war.
Uh, yeah, Tuesday is the day, you know, we've been, I think about two, three
weeks now we've been testing it with our PFP founders, you know, found a lot
of, uh, you know, little, little things, but right now it's just facing the
touches on, uh, the animations, uh, you know, the 3d models, but you know,
all the main functionality is complete.
And, uh, we're, we're, we're, we're definitely excited for it.
And I'm really excited to see the community's feedback.
I have a feeling whatever, whatever it releases this month, uh, on Tuesday,
six months from now, it's going to be, it's going to be different.
And if not, it's going to be even more different just, just from, you
know, our process of, uh, feedback and improvement.
Yeah, that's, that's a good testament as well to like your desire to not just
build something as like, here you go.
But just, it's something that you're, you're crafting over a long period of
time, you're working at it, you're building it with the community.
Um, and I like that about, um, the feedback that you have with their
community when you're building.
When, um, when folks are playing, um, the actual, like when they're
playing the TV, I know you mentioned, um, they would be getting, I think
they would win like a pot when you're talking about the tournaments.
Um, but what about, are there, do they have a chance to earn, um, other
gameplay NFTs or resources participating in the battles?
I know with the creatures, you can occasionally, uh, grab an NFT if you're
lucky, um, you've been out to forage for resources.
So I was curious about what players can see in the aftermath of that.
So right now it's, there, there will be winning obsidian, which is our main resource.
So with obsidian in our game, for our con, for, um, you can, you can
convert obsidian to our tradeable Nova token, or you can convert obsidian
to any in-game resource for the economy side.
Right now, there is not, um, a way to get, uh, NFTs, but, uh, Tiago suggested
a great idea for the future, um, loot boxes, depending on which league you win.
There could be a loot box with randomized items in it, which could either be
items, like potions for the game.
It could be, um, NFTs that you want to blend other workers or weapons
that you want to blend up.
So, uh, that's definitely something on, on the roadmap.
And I liked the idea of, uh, I know random like surprise at the
end, um, like a lottery ticket.
So my last question here, kind of like focus on like the gameplay and stuff.
No, like immediately the person who comes to mind is Sybaris, um, comes
to mind, like who have probably a ton of assets or a big whale in Nova Pangea.
So when we're, when, uh, when someone's playing, will there be an opportunity
to have, uh, multiple parties fighting at once, or is it something that might
maybe use, uh, multiple wallets to be able to use multiple parties?
How does the, uh, how does it accommodate players who have a lot of assets?
So we, we designed this game as a mixture between, um, you know,
Final Fantasy, actually Final Fantasy 10 was my favorite and, uh, Words of Friends.
We, ideally we would love to have two concurrent users playing in real time
because that's when it'll be, you know, the most joy, but the reality of, you
know, our community across the, across the world at different times, that's
where the Words of Friends, um, concept comes in.
So you take a turn and then we, we have, we hook this up to our Discord bot.
They get alerted so they could take a tech, they could take their turn, you
know, at their own leisure, whether it's, um, between meetings at work, you
know, the toilet time, watching TV with their spouse at the end of the day,
And, uh, that's the, that's the, actually the feedback I'm the most
interested in and that style play gameplay.
But with that said is like Words of Friends, you can have multiple
matches going on at once.
So we have the ability to, everybody gets two, uh, match spots, uh, automatically
unlocked, and then you can unlock additional match spots with Novo up, up
until six, but if you want to have, I don't care if you want to have, uh,
two wallets to play, um, multiple battles.
Like I don't see, uh, multiple wallets as a strategic advantage in anyway.
So, um, I'm more than okay with that.
If that's, you know, cause some people like to do that just from an
organizational point of view, they would might say, I only like by late
round in one wallet and actually Frank was like this and my, my water
So, um, I, I, I understand that as well.
I gave up on that a while back.
I don't, I don't have separate wallets now.
It's just, it's a giant mismatch, mishmash of different lands
and buildings worker solid, the same wallet.
Frank, it always changes the strategy of how to play a game, which I love.
It'll probably change before the end of the day.
After this conversation, I'll go in there and change a thousand things
because I'll go, Oh no, this is the right way to play, which is never
It's always just unique per person.
So I like that freedom that you're able to have playing the open
GF, um, to be able to play however, however you want, you know.
So that's, that's most of the questions I've got on, uh, PPT stuff.
So, um, I just want to remind, um, some of the folks who came in after, um,

Um, the next questions I've got are going to be kind of, um, uh, lore based
or story based, um, cause I know that, uh, NovaVangia was built with, uh, with
a, a big kind of overarching story in the background to help flesh it out
and make it, um, appealing to a lot of people.
So how does, uh, introducing PVP alter maybe future lore of NovaPangia?
Well, the great things, uh, the PVP is that we, it pushed us to
introduce new characters.
So this additional release, uh, or tomorrow when the packs drop, you will
see six new characters and they, you know, one from each realm and they
all have the 3d miles for the game.
And we actually created an additional six characters, but we didn't have enough
time to make all those 3d models and weapons animations, uh, for launch.
So that will come in a few months, uh, you know, that, that release.
So we, it forced us, pushed us to make, uh, more, you know, characters
introduce them, give, every character has a backstory you'll see in the
back of the card and, uh, as well as the weapons, you get to learn more
about the weapons, you get to learn more about the abilities and we're
working on our game guide right now, just, this is a lot, a lot of content.
And, uh, it will show like every, like Umanas of a ball of strengths and
weaknesses, obviously you're going to need to know that when you battle PVP,
because you, that determines what, maybe what attack you use or how you
want to, um, you know, buff your character, uh, before you go, go into
battle, but it, it definitely pushed us to really learn more about the
characters and, uh, the realms.
It doesn't really push the storyline, but that's going to be, that's
going to be, um, on another initiative that's coming out, uh, after
this one, where it will definitely die way more to the law and that would
tie into, uh, citizens PFP release coming, um, after this, where that
is definitely going to be, um, all, uh, law and that graphic novel focused.
You know, and I'll say too, that the, the lore is that the lore in the
art is the first thing that drew me to this project over two years ago.
Um, there was no gameplay.
And I had that question that a lot of people had was, what's the utility?
What am I going to do with these NFTs?
And it was all just, you know, up in the air at the time, but, um, I'm so
excited that I did, cause the, the art team and the lore behind it is so
top-notch there's, there's, it's so deep and it's, it's almost like it's
never ending and I can't wait to see what's coming up next.
I was wondering, um, cause you mentioned early with PVP tournaments and stuff.
Um, and I know you said there was going to be too much lore base, but that
would be next I'm wondering if the, when you have these big tournaments, if
these will somehow maybe relate into a later, uh, chronicle that's
released, um, as part of the lore, if like say maybe I'm going to bring
them up again, if Sibris wins the first bad, big battle and takes, takes
the first event, like, is, is he going to be, or is that character going to
be like included or that event included maybe somewhere in the histories?
Is that something kind of like you're looking at it?
We have, we haven't, we haven't planned that, but you know, definitely
We do have, um, ways our characters, I mean, our community has been
like rooted, rooted into our game.
So, um, we have our one character reporting social media, his name's Iceman.
That's actually, uh, some, uh, one of our community members.
So on our first release of our cards, we had four cards of creation and, uh,
he ended up getting one and he turned it in.
So now he has, he's a character in the earth realm, uh, his name's Iceman.
So we were, you know, a great backstory for him.
Uh, you know that how he got exiled from the earth, um, earth realm, but now
he's living in the outskirts of the space realm because the space realm is
snowy mountains, he's Iceman.
And there's a whole reason how it became Iceman, et cetera.
And so he's going to be like, he has a card, he's going to be his, he's
in the PPPS 3 model and he will forever be in our lore.
Uh, Sibris actually had pulled the mint one card of creation in one of our pack breaks.
So he turned his in and he's going to be, uh, he's creating a character which
we're going to be working on, uh, probably next week, as soon as war launches.
And, uh, he has a very creative idea of his character and that's going to be,
his character is going to be in our first, uh, our first, uh, release
of our graphic novel series.
So, and then we also have other characters like, um, uh, Draven, uh, Blackthorn is,
um, you know, it's after one of our other characters, I mean, our
characters, community members has been very supportive, right?
Uh, and then we have, uh, somebody else in the earth realm who's going to be
a character that's released, um, not, not with the PV, not with this initial
release, but the cat's already made.
And that would be with the, um, expansion packs coming in a few months.
You know, it was, um, somebody else has been, you know, a pillar of our
community from the beginning.
So we included her in it too.
So we definitely, uh, you know, include pieces, uh, from, from our community.
We haven't really thought about how a battle would affect it,
but I'm definitely all for that.
Uh, but we do have our storyline already, uh, done for, um, our first.
If you would say like, it was the Lord of the Rings, like the first, the
first part of the trilogy, we have that already completed the storyline, but
there could be definitely different like side missions aside things that,
um, could definitely be part of the backstory.
There's still not a Franklin characters.
I'm, I'm waiting on that.
The name, the name doesn't make sense.
Frankly got change your name.
I love, um, like how you're able to, um, include, uh, the community, um,
let them put their mark as well.
So it's, it makes it to me, um, as a community member, it makes it
exciting and more interesting to me to have, cause I feel like I'm part of it.
Like even more so than just communicating.
Oh, a hundred, a hundred percent.
Like, so we, uh, streams, like we, um, you know, we, we had streams
naming the characters together.
We've had streams naming the weapons together.
We had one stream name and the weapons together.
And I think it was big game.
One of our community members and every one, every idea that he said was
always, was the one that ended up winning.
So he ended up named like three or four, four of them and everybody
else's ideas just didn't, you know, they weren't, they weren't voted upon
the kids, uh, but you know, it's fun.
And we have community members name some about items that, um, you can use in PVP.
So on our stream, you get like a lot of feedback and, uh, you know,
So they contribute more than just, you know, I like this feature.
They help contribute that way, that way as well.
So kind of last, uh, maybe tie-in question, right?
So three or four months ago, you released, uh, the creature gameplay loop.
Um, will we see some of those creatures showcased in PVP?
So that's actually a big request right now.
However, you know, that the idea of the path of a creature being
summoned or a creature as a companion, um, it fits the law and it fits, you
know, there's, there, there could be a path to it, but, um, you know, I
would hate to commit to that now because you got to see how popular the game is
and the growth of it before you, um, we're committed to a big feature like that.
But it's definitely something that, that could be growth.
You know, there's also opportunities to do a couple other side, um, many
games with the creatures, I know Tiago, um, who leads up the game studio.
He already proposed some really good ideas of other games that he has
worked on that would be a perfect fit for, um, an expansion for features.
So that's something that him and I will be talking about after, um, we get PVP
live and a first couple, you know, feet, uh, you know, maintenance updates and,
you know, really, really get, getting it to a solid place.
We can revisit that conversation.
I think, um, yeah, I think what you said about, let's see how it works
right now to see what people like before you start adding more and more
and more, um, is definitely a good, um, approach to take.

Um, I know about the game, um, I saw the game a while ago and never really
got into the game yet, but I really love the artwork and I really love the,
the, um, the way out of some of the streams that I watch of the people playing it.
Um, I, I, so the question is, um, I, there is this, um, Internet novel
called man after man, and it's like the future of, of man, which, uh, migrate to
space and then they get mutated in different worlds.
I don't know if you, if you ever watched that novel, but it gave me a lot of, uh,
when I saw the artwork, it looked very similar to the novel.
I just wonder if you ever, uh, saw it or watch it.
It's called, uh, I think the novel is called man after man, uh, but I could
I have not, I have not heard of them Googling it now, but, uh, no, I have not,
but that doesn't mean that, um, our team, cause our teams in Bogota, Columbia,
and, uh, we have each realm has their own artist and these guys, uh, they do
a lot of the big comic book, uh, guys, they have their own comic books down there.
So maybe that could have been inspiration for, um, some of it, but
I never, I never seen that.
I've heard of it before, but I'm definitely gonna look it up.
It's kind of like future dinosaurs, future, uh, biology.
And it was probably, it even got it like a cartoon at some time.
I mean, uh, you know, the, the, not geo for kids.
Um, and it was, it was very rare, but also bizarre to a degree, but, uh,
pretty interesting lore, uh, as far as lore goes,
if the kids like it, then I have, I have a son who loves, uh, you know,
he's obsessed with, you know, rainbow fans and God in the bam, bam,
and all those cat, all those cool characters as well as dinosaurs.
This actually might be a great, um, book to, uh, to read with him.
So I'll definitely check it out.

Um, so let's get into a little bit more of the gameplay.
So the first question that I had, um, you kind of, you kind of hit already.
Um, but I was going to ask like, I, so I've been on the stream.
I've been watching you stream.
I've been watching you battle at Tiago and the PVP gameplay reminds me of turn
based RPG battles like dragon quest or Pokemon, or like you mentioned,
So was it just that, um, like your favorite game was, was finally I see 10
and that's, we wanted to emulate that JRPG style, or was it just,
does it work out that way as well, considering that you're going to allow
players, um, to play not concurrent concurrently?
Um, you know, the Fauna fantasy approach, I think it really fit
the world of noble Pangea.
Cause with Fauna fantasy in those games, you really get to see, you learn about
the characters and the heroes and they, they come from all different, you
know, nationalities, species, whatever Fauna fantasy, and it's kind of like
what we have with the realm.
So that was, that was aligned.
And as you travel across the world of Fauna fantasy, you see, you know, depending
which kingdom you're in, like the whole world kind of changes.
So again, that, that aligned with our realms.
So Fauna fantasy was a good fit.
It was, and again, it was one of my favorite games and it's a lot of
strategy and crafting, and I love strategic games.
I also love the stuff, uh, Starcraft two as well, but, um, I don't think
that, you know, we could have got as deep into the lore as, um, your
note about kind of the, yeah, it's turn based, but the note about, um,
the current users, that was actually the biggest, um, fear of mine and
challenge, uh, that we need to overcome of how we're going to develop it.
Because, you know, I, I have, uh, advised and worked with other gaming
companies and, you know, PPP is very, very difficult because if you don't
have enough concurrent users, it's just not going to be, not going to be
successful and I didn't want to launch this having to rely on concurrent
users or we'll make it a simulation because I think the simulation takes
away a lot of the strategy in real time because I know I was battling
Franklin on stream and had to make a decision.
Do I want to use a potion or do I want to go for it and use this attack?
And I, I went for an easy attack and I didn't, I didn't knock him out.
He knocked me out the next, the next, the next hit.
So that's where that strategy really comes into, which you want to get in a simulation.
So one of our community members actually suggested, well, why don't you just
have like five, six battles going on once?
Like where was it friends?
I'm like, you're a fucking genius.
I was like, you're a genius.
And so that was kind of when he, when he, when he shared me that, you
know, suggestion, I was like, okay, now we're ready to really commit to this
I've never even played word with friends.
So your idea, I'm, I'm calling it the Novo idea.
I'm not going to give them credit.
I'm going to give you credit.
Cause that's the first time I've seen it.
So I think it's really ingenious.
Um, and I love that, that this, that return base was able to
We'll say hopefully, hopefully it works out.
I do have a, you know, you know, be transparency.
I'm curious to see if the matches take too long, but you know, right now, if
you don't be, if you don't, if you don't do your turn, like 24 hours a week,
always change that because of that variable, uh, you have to forfeit.
So I think this is what is going to be very important for the community to do
when we go live is to give us that feedback.
These ballots take it too long.
It's too slow or it's just right.
Or, you know, and give their suggestions because that's the most
important feedback I think we're going to get over the next month to
determine, uh, you know, the roadmap, you know, uh, past February.
And when you've got players tuning in from all around the world, it's almost
like, like how it's hard to have a limit of, of maybe four hours because
people are going to be asleep for longer than that.
Maybe they're attacked and it's, that's definitely a tough nut to crack.
Um, so next question, um, watching a little bit of the gameplay is, and by
the way, if you miss the gameplay yesterday, it was hosted on Christia's, uh,
Twitch stream, so you can go and watch the replay from that.
And, uh, a little bit later, I'm going to ask what other, um, uh, streams
that you'll be showcasing on a, uh, puzzle posted one in the, in the reply
there, thank you, puzzle.
Um, so back to the, back to the combat and the gameplay.
Um, I saw status effects, which was something that big deal to me.
That's another whole other layer of just attacking, defending and stuff like that.
So what types of effects can players expect to see while they're
Uh, we have great effects, you know, and this is, you know, again, with, uh,
kudos to Tiago Tiago, you know, he really, um, took on the ownership of,
you know, Oh, the type of effects that I gave him a few ideas, but, um, he
really took it, like the, the, the, the type of attacks they can do, the type
of effects, um, you know, uh, the balancing of, of the attacks or the
buffs, all that stuff, he did a great job with it.
Um, I'm, I'm beyond, I'm beyond, um, happy and impressed by what they did.
Uh, but you have stuff like stun, bleed, blind, poison.
Um, and then we have the buffs to increase your, uh, your speed, which
is the agility, uh, your, your magic defense, you can increase your, uh, magic
offense as well, physical defense, physical offense, and some of these you
can use with items as well as, um, there could be an ability, uh, that a weapon
might have that can, that can, that can cause this as well as, uh, different
spells that can, uh, clear stun.
So, and some, some attacks might just attack one person or two people,
three, three people, I'm gonna tell you something that like, at the more I play,
I kind of have like a strategy of which characters are like, because I know
like the speed and I know which attack they have.
So, you know, I kind of like using a certain characters because they have,
you know, one character has a stun attack that can stun all three at once.
And it's like, to me, it's just, it's just a great attack, you know, as
an offense, or offense person, because then I get extra hits because the
stunt, they can't do anything.
Um, you know, and, and like, you know, uh, when they actually, you know, one
that you can, they suck your life away slowly, uh, that, that's, that's
another great one, great one, uh, to do as well as you can even put, um,
use an attack on, you know, one of your teammates, so many a party where
you actually, you know, get HP after each round, a little bit HP or MP after each
round, so there's a lot of great statuses like that.
So it's, this game is, it's definitely a lot of skill, um, your needs,
a lot of strategy and, uh, you know, we look, we really look forward to it.
I think the, uh, that, that AOE all stun is a big one.
I know from playing Warcraft three back in the day, he was often
as a disc, uh, a decision, like, am I going to, am I going to rush?
Am I, or am I going to like level up my hero so I can control the battle
better with different stuns, different abilities, and really like kind of
overwhelm the opponent that way.
So it was definitely a bouncing act.
And I'm excited to hear that that's going to be coming to Nova war as well.
Um, is it what's besides stun?
I mean, that's, that's like, you know, that's an easy one.
Is there any other, uh, status effect that you like the best?
Um, you know, I like, I like bleed a lot.
I like the ones that, you know, tend to deal with damage over, um, time,
like poison and bleed because I think the players just forget about
And so, you know, they, they only might lose like a little bit of HP,
that one, that, that round.
And so they might not waste an item or an attack to, to, to clear it.
And then, you know, it kind of adds up and then they get in this mental
dilemma, okay, should I use my clear now or should I continue to attack?
You know, and I think it plays mind games with the opponent.
So, you know, anyone's that kind of can, uh, drip, drip their HP.
them. You know, I say, I think you like stun better because that's the one
you always seem to use on me.
You can't even make a move.
You can't make a move if you're going to clicheer yourself or a heal
opponent or what you're going to do.
You just, yeah, I like, I like this is a stun on me.
And then all I can do is just go run a grubfish for everybody.
See, I'm doing it for the community.
So my next one is, so you've got, um, you've got different
heroes, you can add your party.
You've got different weapons.
You can add your party got items, but some of the heroes and the weapons
are unique in that you can combine them to upgrade them.
And I know you mentioned before, it's not just the mythic beats the common or
the uncommon beats the common all the time.
So what, um, how does that fusion of weapons and heroes, uh, come into play?
How does it kind of like give benefits to the players?
Like, can you give me a little breakdown on that?
Um, so yeah, so basically inside, uh, uh, you know, the noble, uh, war interface
who have a fusion section and it's similar to the way we blend
out creatures where you need four of the same card, uh, the same
reality, so four commons and some noble.
And then you get uncommon and four uncommon, some noble, you get a rare and
four rears and, um, all the same card and some noble, you get up to an epic.
We also have a universal weapon.
Um, it's called still, the still wind blade.
And, um, that's, that's only a common weapon, but any character
Right now you have to, each character can only use a weapon of their own realm.
And originally we were going to do any realm, any character, but the community
actually voted on that, um, one of our streams to make it, um, you have to be
from that realm to use that weapon.
So, uh, the one that anyways, the common, the universal common weapon of
still wind blade is, you know, you blend, you blend it up into, uh, up for
those two uncommon and you will get a random uncommon weapon.
So one thing that, um, we piggybacked off of, um, from, uh, um, economy game
is we have these unskilled workers that you can use 14 times and they
get, they get burnt, right?
So, you know, for those, for like new players that we can use the giveaways,
it's great for people to use for, for consciousness right now.
So our common weapons, not common, not the common heroes, our common
weapons, um, kind of has that in play.
So you, each common weapon will have, um, 12 uses for it.
And then after the 12 use, you can't, you can't use it anymore, but what
you can do, it doesn't automatically get burnt.
The cool thing about this is that, um, you can still use it to fuse
into uncommon, which uncommons you can last forever.
So that way as a new player, they might get one of these, you know, um,
common weapons from a giveaway or from a creature finding it and the
creature in the, in the creature pool, they can still use it, play with it.
And then when they're actually done, they won't, they won't get burnt.
They can actually, uh, use that to blend up to, uh, uh, random uncommon
to keep on playing, which I thought was, that was another suggestion
from Tiago, which I thought was a phenomenal.
And one, one other thing to know about weapons on, uh, each
So depending on, um, you know how that means, like how many uses that it can
be used, um, until you have to repair it and you have to repair it with obsidian.
Um, and then after it gets repaired, it gets to full strength and
you can use it again in battle.
So we had to have, we had to have some drains in there.
I don't think anybody has a sword, like at least an on earth
I like how you handle that kind of durability too.
And, um, when it's used up, I love that it's not just, you know, there's still,
there's still something you can do with it once you're done playing with it.
Um, I think you mentioned a little bit teams, um, or you've
obviously got the different realms.
Um, how will different realms come into play for PvP?
I know you already mentioned that heroes need to have realm specific weapons.
Can you have heroes from different realms in your party?
Or do you need to have all the same realm?
Like how does, how does the realms come into play with that?
So one learning we had from my economy game right now, when you
play the economy game, um, you, you, you pick one home realm and that's
your, and that's your, you're basically your home realm and, uh, you
cannot go to other realms unless you have a travel pass and this was
a friction point for a lot of new users that weren't like a lot of new users
didn't want to stop the game because they didn't know which realm to pick.
And so then they said, well, I'll figure this out later and it never came back.
So we did kind of change that sign up flow a little bit where you don't
have to pick your moment when you sign up, at least that way, you know,
we can get your information and keep on, you know, reaching out to you.
But the thing we learned there is that people, you know, it was a, it
was a friction point, it was like, you know, it wasn't a happy moment
inside of the, of the, the player journey in Nova Pinjia.
So what we did was, um, we, we, you can use any weapon.
I mean, any realm, you can have six different, um, six different, well,
three side, three different realm characters going out at once.
So you don't have to just play space or play earth.
And this is kind of good because each realm and each hero has different
abilities and different character characteristics.
So you, you, you could have more of a balanced team if you want to, you
know, have shadow, who's obviously going to be the best doc magic and
with, and you want to, to, to pair it with the mind, he was great
at with water and, you know, the earth realm was very strong.
So it's, it's a great way to kind of craft your team together and, you
know, let, um, the players have more fun with, you know, the IP and
the, the different characters.
I'm excited to hear like that.
You tell me that the different characters, the different heroes,
It's not just a cut and paste with different skins.
You got to really decide who you want to represent you, um, when they go to battle.
And that, and that's cool because that's how you can actually learn a little bit
more about the lore and, and, you know, and, and the backgrounds of the characters.
I'm getting close to a little bit of the end.
We've got about 13 minutes left scheduled.
Um, I just want to remind everyone, if you have questions and you would like to
come up and speak and share your question, your thoughts with the team,
please go ahead and raise your hands.
I can bring up the stage.
Um, mobile play mobile is a big, a big one.
I know you talked about toilet time.
So is this, uh, did you optimize this for mobile?
Is that, was that part of part of the, uh,
and that was, that was, um, That was, that was a long decision, but, but
at the end of the day, we knew we had to do mobile, you know, uh, we tech,
to be honest, we do have more depth desktop users and mobile users,
but we serve a lot of mobile users.
So it had to be optimized to mobile and we had to make it web-based.
So, and that's part of the reason why the game is, you know, the simple
term basis, sort of more of a clash royale style is because, um, just
what the mobile browser can handle.
And we also had to kind of, you know, create our 3d models and we had to
put on some handcuffs, limitations on our, uh, very talented three year
artists to kind of dumb down the design to have less polygon so it could
perform better on mobile.
So yeah, it does, um, perform our web mobile.
That was, you know, one of the big requirements.
And, uh, yeah, so yeah, it does, it works.
Um, so let me ask this one now and I'm going to ask you to give us the
details and the, the pack.
So I think as well, but what, if, if I am someone who has never started or even
logged in or looked at Nova Pangea before, how can I get started with the
So right now, uh, you definitely just have to go to, you know, our website
Nova Pangea to IO and just create your Nova account by going to you, the
hub in the top right corner or the play of the game.
So just create your Nova Pangea account.
You're going to have to access the, uh, Nova war through, uh, the Carmi game.
And the reason for that is we built a Nova war completely off the chain.
And there's a lot of reasons for that.
It was, um, you know, uh, there's a lot of reasons for that too, you know,
especially so new players don't new players to wax don't have to, um, like
figure out how to create a wax wallet or stake the CPU, et cetera.
So, but you would have to go through Nova, um, the Carmi game.
So you can, um, port your hero, NFTs, your weapon, NFTs, your, uh, noble
tokens, obsidian tokens in the game, and you can export them, uh, outside
the game, um, back whenever you want.
And, uh, that way, you know, you know, that way you can, you can, you can play.
With that said, everybody who goes to Nova war, they will be given, uh,
three, uh, trial heroes and three trial weapons so they can test it out
and play it actually for free, um, to see if they like it.
And they can, they can still earn, um, obsidian from winning.
They can Nova from winning all that, all that fun stuff.
They just won't be able to export their, uh, hero or the weapon
child NFTs we give them because if not, we'll be, we'll be
bartered just for that one reason, um, as well.
But if you, you know, if you really want to play and get into it, uh, you
definitely just need to get, you know, different packs, different, uh, we
have different packs coming out, uh, us tomorrow.
We have our jumbo packs that we'll, I'm sure we'll get into.
And then we have about specific packs and then we even have aspiring pack,
which is, you know, a very, uh, uh, entry level price of $5.
And it's also designed for our pack breaks so we can have a lot
more, um, fun, fun pack breaks with them.
But it would just be, you know, you can, you can try out for free, but to grow,
you would just have to get, um, you know, you just need obsidian, which
is an Indian currency as well as, uh, the heroes and the weapons.
And I, and I can't stress up that, um, if you've not played Nova

on Twitter, I'm happy to help you out.
I've got, um, plenty of things to give you to help you along, um, extra

Tomorrow is, is it starts, you got, you got nova war and the realms
Pacific, the Nova war jumbo, I think, and the realm specific packs available
purchase for credit card through the Nova shop, right?
You can buy that with all your credit card, PayPal, et cetera, through our Nova shop.
And then next Monday, that's going to be the morning of January 29th, those, the
same packs will be available to holders of the founders PFP to purchase with
either wax P or Nova token, right?
And then that night after, you know, you have to give the PFP founders, you
know, they, they, that, uh, that first crack that night, the white list
restrictions on the PFPs will be removed and all players can play for, uh, or
excuse me, can get a pack of their own for wax P and Nova token.
We, we, we, we made it complicated for y'all, but you, you, you
I did a, this was like the part I had to check like four times.
And then finally, like, after that, after the evening of the 29th, like the
next day you're ready to go, um, no more PDP is right.
We didn't, we didn't, we, we felt like we'll be overwhelmed.
At least I would be overwhelmed launching the game and the job and
the packs at the same time.
So, you know, I want, I kind of wanted to pace that out.
So we want to be a team, want to be overwhelmed for support.
Plus you can have like that, you know, it never hurts to have a little bit,
10 minutes, 10 hours after polish when you're going through the
Bitchin, um, does anyone else on below, if you have any questions, we are

Oh, what's your favorite part of Fauna Fantasy 10 and why is it Titus's laugh?
Um, honestly, I, maybe it was because I was the first Fauna
Fantasy ever played and that was the first thing I ever played.
And I absolutely loved, um, I love the crafting.
I love to build, to craft and, you know, the different, the different
elements on the weapons and, you know, customize your character that, that
just, that was everything to me.
I mean, I had the, uh, the board when you're buying the different, you
go the different routes to, right?
I played a lot of Fauna Fantasy 10 as well.
It's been so long that board, I wanted to include it, but that
just would have been overkill.
That would be seriously intense.
Franklin, what's your favorite part of Fauna Fantasy 10?
You know, I guess, I don't know if I'm a little older than you guys.
So seven was probably been probably my favorite.
Um, but I love almost all the final fantasies.
I just, just getting involved in them and the, and the, the
term based battle is my favorite.
I want, and I don't even think I've told Mike this, we need to have like,
um, like, uh, I guess you could say gods of the realm, uh, of each realm
and have those be able to be summoned in the middle of battle, like Ifrit and Shiva.
That, that needs to come, that needs to be come in a Nova war expansion 2.0.
Maybe that's where you get the creatures you can summon Tybro.
I mean, the summons and font, they said we're so like intense, right?
And I'm not thinking about the six too.
I think I'm older than both you guys.
I played a lot of fantasies, but we have, we have talked about, you know, in the
future, uh, definitely doing cut scenes.
Cause we got show off the IP in the, uh, in the world of Nova Pangea.
So cut scenes would definitely be something that, um, we aspire to get to.

So there'll be a lot of PVP out there in the world of, uh, either
more combat style or, um, farm fantasy style, but you can definitely
fight somebody with your noble characters.
