Thank you. I love you. Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, G M G M. Hello everybody and welcome
One second here we'll get going hello everybody and welcome to the monthly welcome Wednesday show
Right First off if you guys can hear me loud and clear throws
those emotes up let's get some likes repost comment and uh we'll kick things off here very shortly
see um if this is your first time tuning in to welcome wednesday this is a monthly show that we
host on the first Wednesday of every month.
We're a community-led initiative. None of us work for Yugo Labs. We're not being paid to do this.
We do this out of pure love and passion for the club and because we know how important it is to bring apes together.
And our mission is simple. It is to give apes the big, warm welcome they deserve right here on the timeline and on
this show we want to help them settle in find their path and feel right at home within the club
so if you're a new ape in the audience tonight we'd love to get you up here later to introduce
yourselves and tell us why you join the club and see if there's anything that we can do to help
also by jumping up here and introducing yourself you'll be able to earn a welcome apes
cupcake badge to rock on your other page profile this badge lets others know you're official and
features amazing art by marav haber also quick note um you know after we get done with uh with
our special guests please hold off from just coming up here to tell us about your project
we're totally cool if you're new and need help with something that you're working on,
but this space is about welcoming new apes and hearing their stories and building connections.
My name is Law of the Saw, and I am your host here for today's Welcome Wednesday.
I've been in the club for over two years and have helped run the Welcome Apes account alongside my guy, Dort, for the last year.
Dort will be with us here shortly.
Every couple weeks, Dort and I take turns scouting the timeline, finding new apes and making sure they get some love.
And, you know, speaking of door, he'll be joining us here shortly.
And, you know, speaking of Dort, he'll be joining us here shortly.
He's running a little bit late with work.
He's running a little bit late with work,
but we also have joining with me alongside the one and only Marav Haber,
both of which Marav and door are longtime club members and part of the
Grateful to have both of them here with me today.
We've got an awesome show ahead for everybody.
I've personally invited every new ape that we've welcomed on the timeline this past month.
Plus some friends of the club to hang out with us here today.
And as I said earlier, we have a very special guest CEO of eight, the man behind the mission.
Cam is here with us tonight.
I don't want to take up too much of his time.
I know he's a very busy guy,
so I'll quit yapping here shortly,
but I do want to say this,
and it's that I believe the long-term success of Apes
is closely tied to the success of Ape Chain,
and as active and dedicated members of the BAYC,
I think it's on us to kind of explore
how we can support that mission.
How can we help push the culture forward?
And what should we be paying attention to?
So we're going to riff on that for a bit.
Get Cam up here, trying to get him up here right now.
And we'll bring up some apes, introduce themselves after.
And, you know, probably keep the convo rolling.
So without further ado, let's welcome up Cam.
Happy welcome Wednesday, dude.
Thanks so much for being here today.
Appreciate being invited here.
I might be the first person in history who's literally changing a diaper
So if anyone hears my daughter making an appearance, she's a future ape.
But right now, she's just a little shitter.
So but with that, super excited to be here.
And, you know, I think this is probably the first time I've ever really had a chance to
chat with you guys live on a space, but I feel like it goes without saying everyone here on the
space today is deeply appreciative of what you guys are doing and have done with Welcome
I check in on the timeline frequently, see who you're welcoming, see the conversations
that you're bringing, getting everyone to sort of the same place, which is realizing the strength, the backbone of everything we've all built here,
which is community. So, uh, appreciate the kind words when you entered me, but, uh,
the admiration really is from me to you. Dude, no worries about the, the daddy duty. We know how it
is. Uh, not the first and probably will not be the last. Apes are multitaskers.
Before we get it through and start asking you
some questions, getting to know you a little bit better, I want to do a mic check on Marav.
Marav, how are you doing today? Hey, what's up?
Hello, Law. Hello, Cam. Can you hear me okay?
Loud and clear. Amazing. Yeah, I'm happy to join me okay? Loud and clear.
Amazing. Yeah, I'm happy to join you guys in the space today.
I was just kind of laughing to myself about the diaper change master multitasker over here.
So, yeah, it's great to have you join us.
Yeah, Law, thank you for the mic check.
Anytime. I know how these spaces can be kind of buggy and just want to make sure everybody's
everybody's working. But yeah, Cam, let's jump into it, man.
Dork gave me a list of some good questions, and i think i'll start off with one of dork's
questions he'll be joining us here shortly and it's you know what does pushing ape chain culture
forward actually look like in your eyes especially when it comes from the everyday holders you know
creators collectors um your thoughts on that for sure i think it think it's a, you know, it's a, it's a really good question.
It comes at, you know, an important time. You know, I think it's really twofold. So,
you know, everyone on this call, everyone that's, you know, part of the APE community through BAYC,
right? We know that BAYC is at the heart of the APE ecosystem, but, you know, there's been a lot of
other communities that have grown and strong communities at that.
Everyone who's joined this ecosystem through AYC, particularly the OGs, know what the early
We all talk about bringing back the early vibes.
We all talk about what it felt like to find people who we instantly connected with.
And I think in large part, like Ape Chain, when we first
announced it, we talked about that the goal was for it to be opinionated. It was really to think
about like, what does it mean to take those vibes and productize them? And I don't mean like sell
access to vibes. I don't mean like, Hey, let's just like pump the price of NFTs. Of course,
we all want to see everything go up into the right, you know, price A, price of, you know, BAYC, MAYC, BAKC, everything. But it's like,
how do you actually just take the things, all those late night conversations, all the energy
of those Twitter spaces, all the camaraderie, you know, all the entrepreneurialism and sort
of bundle it up and be like, if we empower the community with tools, with opportunity,
with access, what are the products
that are going to be made and are they going to have the right vibe?
And so I think for everyone in the community, that's the challenge.
And I think it's not just the challenge that we at Ape Chain are issuing, I think it's
the challenge that all of crypto is being issued.
Whatever community you're a part of, how do you extend the vibes in a way that brings
new people in? The second way I think is also to think about like,
if we look at like, who was joining BAYC, who was early NFT culture, what were the promises of
NFTs, right? We all think about, you know, you used to hear about NFTs being for like movie and music royalties and financing and
access and IP commercialization. And it's like those early promises drew a lot of other people
in to the NFT community, including in our own community, right? We all remember the old stories
about Seth Green was making, you know, an animated series with his BAYC. We all, you know,
remember hearing about musicians. Universal Music Group, I think, you know, an animated series with this BAYC. We all, you know, remember hearing
about musicians, Universal Music Group, I think, owned Four Apes and even trademarked the band,
and they were going to make music out of it. Like, and all of them saw the big opportunity
of NFTs as infrastructure. And so when we think about culture, like, it's also this infrastructure,
you know, that I'm thinking everyone should be pushing forward. And I give a shout out to like,
you know, Ernest and Aaron Haber with like Divitverse,
cause they're taking NFTs as infrastructure
and now making them, you know, work for everyone else.
And so to me, like what we can do as a chain level
is think about some of those big ideas
and try and figure out who in our community
has the resources, the network, the skill, the interest, you know, to actually take a stab at some of those.
So there's like every day, how do we bring the vibes and actually turn them into product?
And then there's also like, how do we dream big?
So, you know, maybe culture for some people is a little different than that, but that's really what it means to me.
And, you know, you mentioned Aaron and and earnest and what they're working about
and it's kind of got me wondering like is there anything else or something that that catches your
eye when when someone reaches out wanting to build on ape chain is there anything that they like can
be said or do to stand out in in in these conversations and kind of like, and, and get rolling.
every conversation has a little bit of a different tone and, you know,
is the conversation talking about funding? Is it talking about distribution?
Is it talking about, you know, just what's the benefit of Ape Chain?
you know, just what's the benefit of Ape Chain. So, you know, every conversation wants something
So, you know, every conversation will have something a little different.
a little different. But to me, I always sort of ask, like, what's the big version of this?
Because at the end of the day, we want to support, you know, products and communities from small to
big, right? Of course, like we're not, nothing is too small, you know, for attention. Because
if we're willing to dismiss anyone, then like, you know, we've sort of, we've lost the plot.
But if somebody has a great idea, and I say, great, what's the big version of that? If you hit a home run, what is it?
If they can answer that question, and there's like some semblance of like a, you know, reality to it, and like there's a cohesive path, you know, whether they're going to actually achieve that path it's a different story but there's a path
that will catch my eye you know on on the line right now i know uh you know danny's you know on
the call like danny i know i owe you a response to the email apologies i'm still slow on my emails
i'm turning leave here but like you know he and i talk about podcasts you know, and using NFTs and the blockchain, you know, for the podcast industry to
solve a lot of the sort of the fractured nature of distribution, you know, of data capture,
like, he'll tell me how big the podcast industry is, particularly in LATAM, right? And like how,
you know, few people are really taking on the challenges of it and how he has the network and opportunity to actually try and tackle that.
And so whether he's going to win or not is obviously, you know, it's on him and it's a reason for him to believe in the big vision.
But the fact that he can talk about it as a multibillion dollar opportunity shows that like it's something that is actually when we think back to that culture conversation, it's in that second bucket.
It's something that is a big picture opportunity that we should be looking to change the game on.
Whether Ape Chain wins in that way or not is sort of secondary.
Everyone in the NFT industry wins if somebody cracks that code.
Yeah, podcast is a big one.
And I'm a big podcast guy myself. i mean i love to listen to them but something that i recently kind of explored over the weekend and i'm curious on what your
thoughts are is info fi um what are you what are your thoughts on infoFi before I kind of dig into my experience?
I think we're at the infancy of what InfoFi really is.
The same way that we saw, I don't want to use the term bubble,
but we saw a boom of interest around AI in tokenized form. I think InfoFi is a very similar attempt to tokenize attention.
And like Web2 has been obviously trying to quantify and segment and direct attention for
decades now. And InfoFi is trying to do it in a decentralized way, in a social and gamified way. So I think the big picture opportunity is incredible.
I haven't seen anyone yet that like, to me has built something that is sort of multi-layered
more than just sort of, are we farming attention to get an airdrop, you know, how do we actually build like depth of community,
the way that like, truly influencers, you know, have broken through, you know, there's some
stories about, you know, like the Emma Chamberlain, you know, sort of business flywheel and like how,
you know, what her, you know, what her open rate is on like her, uh, for her fans and what's her conversion rate.
Like that's really where InfoFi to me has a chance to really change the game. Like if you can show
that somebody has a stronger network and stronger ability to commercialize rather than just simply
get eyeballs. So, um, love the idea. I think some of the early products are great experimentations
a ton but i think the next generation is really where we'll start to see some some serious impact
that gets out of just like hey let me get an airdrop yeah i think that's really well said
i you know i've heard all the takes on info fi and i had to kind of jump in this past weekend to
to get an opinion on myself.
And it just seems like everyone's walking around as a billboard,
and I kept correlating the idea that, like, apes have been doing this
not to make a leaderboard for so long and do it because they actually love a product
and they're excited about, like like they're genuinely excited about something.
So I don't know, just kind of drawing the lines between that
and what's popping right now on the timeline.
And I think like, you know, InfoFi is really on some levels,
like a quantification of like network effect, you know,
which is something that on ApeChain, like network effect, you know, which is something that on Ape Chain,
like I think, you know, if anyone's out there talking to Tiger or Josh or has gotten DMs from
them and, you know, they're helping us work on, you know, really understanding the full network
of Ape Chain, understanding the full network of BAYC, like, because one of the things that I think
if we're just being like all truthful with, you you know where we've had hits and misses over the last four years as we've all sort of clumsily tried to
build this together like the number of people with like insanely important jobs in the real world sort
of sense that are apes the number of people who have you know pushed forward the web3 community
both you know in the club and with their own products
that are also apes. That network, particularly if we looked at it at that snapshot of 2022 era,
was probably something that would surprise all of us. And yet, because we all respected the ethos
of Web3, because we all didn't want to sort of cross that barrier of like, who are you in the real world?
We missed a chance to really put together like a real clear understanding of the network and the network effect and be able to draw lines. you know, at the Ape chain level and try and think about like what's tooling and systems that we can
put in place so that like the network effect is actually about enhancing each individual node.
Everyone on this call is a node, right? Or, you know, on the space is a node. I'm a node, right?
Who's in my network? How can I extend my network to a fellow, you know, ape or person in the ape
ecosystem? And how can we sort of look at that as a way to really create the flywheel of ape chain
um if this is all pvp and everyone's sort of on their standalone like then we're no different than
any other chain and i just don't think the personality of a club like ours or the outgrowth
of a club like ours is meant to be just pvp good luck try it on your own
what do you think separates
ApeChain from other chains?
Like, what makes us different?
I think there's a few things.
has seen, right? Whether it's from, you know, early days,
hardware computers, where everything, all the ads for Dell versus Compaq versus, you know,
Intel, where this one has a Pentium 2 processor, like this one has a Pentium 3 processor,
you know, even recently with Apple, you're, oh, this is an M2 microprocessor.
The era of we are going to market based upon our technological capability
is always the first generation of tech.
And then you move out of that
once the tech becomes good enough
that there's a sort of microscopic differentiation.
And we're kind of hitting that in Web3, right?
I think it is almost undoubtable
that Arbitrum, who Ape Chain is built on, is the best technology in Web3.
So Steven, AJ, Harry, Ed, all the guys over there, insane work.
And obviously they just landed Robinhood.
So you know their tech's good because a company like Robinhood wouldn't fuck with it otherwise.
So like we have every advantage, but it's not a differentiator.
And like, we have to be honest with ourselves about that. This becomes in some ways,
you know, a game of branding and a game of community. And I think those are two areas
that the ape ecosystem has always been as strong, if not stronger than others, right? We have a
deeply ferociously loyal and active community. It's not
always happy-go-lucky. We're just like a family. We fight with each other. We make up. Sometimes
we don't make up. Sometimes we get dinner together. Sometimes we can't stand each other, right?
But that sort of community gives us an advantage, again, when you can tack it on to an actual
infrastructure on the network. And then the second thing from like a brand perspective, look, most people think of crypto
and like they can't tell you the difference between this versus that. They've heard some
of the names like, oh, I've heard of Ethereum. I've heard of Bitcoin. I've heard of some of it,
but like they don't know much, but I sure as shit know that they know about the Bored API Club.
I don't know much, but I sure as shit know that they know about the Board API Club.
There is no, I mean, I get it.
There's other competitor brands, peers of ours who have done an incredibly good job of building up their brand.
And I give them lots of credit.
But there's no one that is the face of NFTs other than the Board API Club.
There's no one who has transcended brand the way the Board API Club did.
And that shit was organic. And so like,
if we can put those two pieces together, we have a chance to continue to differentiate ourselves.
But like, it then becomes how do you productize that? How do you bottle that all up? And that's
the challenge that we're issuing. That's the challenge that we've issued to ourselves
internally. That's the challenge that we're issuing to all the people in our community.
What are you building that bottles that energy and can, you know,
give it back so that others feel it.
Hell yeah. You just got me going, dude. And my, my next question is for new apes,
but before, before I jump into there, I want to tap with Marav and, you know,
do you agree with me that I feel,
I kind of feel like the easy answer for what separates ape chain from other chains is that we have we have culture that's already been going on for, you know, for three plus years.
What do you think, Marav? to a grocery store and maybe you're wearing your ape hoodie and someone knows like some normie
is gonna like whisper to his mom like mom those are the bored apes like they know they just know
and I think that it's undeniable that we made waves um we that the bored ape ip you know and uh
I was just hyped listening to all of the things that cam brought up like I don't know if you know, and I was just hyped listening to all of the things that Cam brought up. Like,
I don't know if you know, but before, before I even got into NFTs or any of that, I was working
for a company called Stupid Buddy Studios that belonged to Seth Green, one of the owners, right?
So, and before, before I even knew that he was an owner of an ape, I was getting into apes.
And it was so exciting to see how that all evolved.
And by the way, I think he still owns his ape.
I think he's still, you know, these kind of projects are always in the works.
Like you never know, like at what point of development it's at.
But there's a chance that that might still resurface.
And it's exciting to know, like you mentioned you mentioned cam that all of these like big names
we don't even know potentially like who's an ape but the ones that we do know it's like exciting
it's exciting to know that like we're we're in this community together with these like super
giants right um and yeah i guess if if uh there's uh, there's time, I was just going to say like, you know,
you didn't just wake up being like the CEO, like, how did you even, what was, what's your
Like, how did you get there?
Um, if you could, if you could share a little bit about your background with us.
And for anyone who's, you know, joined spaces recently, I've been on and, you know, heard
I apologize for some of the repeat here, but you know, my background professionally was I started as a
lawyer. It's actually how I got into crypto. You know, 2015, I was working at one of the largest
law firms, you know, in the world. And I was doing like the very traditional Wall Street,
you know, M&A capital markets work. So, you know, big deals, stuff that, you know, M&A, capital markets work. So, you know, big deals, stuff that, you know,
you thought was going to like make you feel really cool because you'd see it in the Wall Street
Journal. But I didn't realize until I became a lawyer, like you're not someone doing
the cool part of the deal. You're the person just doing the paperwork. And so like the sex appeal of all that was just like so boring and just so contrary.
And so I was sort of like thinking about my career and like, you know, I ultimately had
a chance to do this interesting joint venture between Palantir, who obviously is, you know,
in the news now for what it's become in the last 10 years and Credit Suisse.
news now for what it's become in the last 10 years, and Credit Suisse. And I really did find
the joint venture they were doing to be so much more interesting on a business level,
because I was able to be part of sort of this conversation about how do you take these two
giants and build something between them. And I love this idea of like, there's layers to it,
there's a corporate layer, there's a commercial layer, and then there's a regulatory layer. And
so that work, which was the early sort of era of fintech, just sort of grabbed my attention.
And I was able to then work with so many small companies, which got you a little closer to the fire.
So, of course, like 2015 turned to 2016, fintech, that was the early rumblings of the ICO era.
And I was kind of one of the only lawyers at my firm that was a junior associate at least, interested and willing to do it.
And so I had the first stab to do all that work.
And that ultimately became sort of part of my early journey for the first few years of my career was being one of the only crypto lawyers at the firm.
But I was still sort of feeling that distance.
You know, I was sort of coming in late. I wasn't working with the earliest projects at the design phase, at sort of that ideation phase. And so I ultimately moved a couple of firms and ended up landing at Fenwick & West, who to this day, I think is still one of the best firms out there doing some of the most cutting edge, interesting stuff. Shout out to Andy Albertson and Ryan Strauss and Chris Crawford
and Iggy and all those guys. And this was like 2021. And it was the first time in my
career I was able to do crypto 24-7, 365. And I got to represent everyone in the industry
at the time, every major exchange. Most of the L1s, we were doing the whole Salon ecosystem through FTX. We were doing most of the NFT marketplaces, you know, and that led to actually getting to
meet, you know, Gordon and Gargamel and, you know, Tomato. Like, I didn't know these guys' real name.
I knew who they were. It had been right after the mutant dropped that, you know, we started to get
to work directly with them. And I spent the next, you know, we started to get to work directly with them.
And I spent the next, you know, seven or eight months working really closely with the guys.
And, you know, come spring, right after the other deed meant, you know, I was lucky enough to be able to join them
and be part of Nicole's leadership team.
I was our original chief legal officer at Yuga.
And really over the next couple of years, I got to work on some of the most fascinating areas of Web3, not just from the legal side, of course,
trademark and all these IP issues that were coming up, not just sort of productization,
but really at the business level, seeing the comings and goings of partners, thinking about
where do you want to build and being in know, being in the room, learning from, you know, the executives we had, the creativity of
Nicole, you know, the sort of the sort of corporate growth and development that Daniel brought to the
table. And ultimately, you know, seeing that sort of founder energy from, you know, from Greg and
Wiley, particularly when Greg came back as CEO,
taught me a lot and let me evolve in my role. And I ultimately became the chief business officer
as well at Yuga. And that led me to be pretty close to the fire on the Ape ecosystem side.
So I started working with Wabam and Mo and Hazel and the whole team, you know, last summer when Ape Chain
was sort of coming to be and Banana Bill was coming up into a vote and then the governance
revamped. And so, you know, I've had a hand being on the Yuga side of the house to shape the ecosystem
in a way that we thought was really additive and beneficial. And so when the governance revamp went through, you know, we were thinking long and hard about
who would be the right type of person to lead it. You know, like Greg said it that first day
at Coffee with Captain, you know, he felt like this is a role that like, unless you're part of it,
you'll never really excel in. And then I was, you know, that sort of right mix of being experienced
in the ecosystem, having sort of a
fresh eye, given my background, and also having a deep understanding of how Yuga builds and where
it wants to go. And I could be, you know, a partner to him and help and, you know, and Figgy and PP
and Quit and James and the whole team there. I could be their partner in helping sort of blend
the two because, you know, I give Mo, who's a special council member, a lot of credit today.
He just posted, you know, a really great retrospective special council member a lot of credit today he just posted
you know a really great retrospective on the apecoin dow and one of the things he did talk
about was sort of the separation between the dow and yuga for all this time um and i think where
we're going with apeco um and part of the role that i you know accepted was was helping to be
the person to blend that so um sorry for sort of the long background
there, but that's my story. No, that's amazing. Thank you for sharing that. That's awesome.
Chief Business Officer, what a cool title also. Just a little side note.
Appreciate that. I'm not sure my day-to-day changed. I was there to, you know, whether
morning, noon, or night to talk to Greg and the executive team about whatever to you know whether morning noon or night to talk to greg uh and the executive
team about whatever you know cool ideas we came up with um but you know at least chat gpt gave me a
title for it chief now you're the chief of ape i don't know i think chief of ape is is a lot cooler
of a title if you ask me. That's a banger.
I'll be chief of anything, honestly.
Like chief of whatever, it's fine.
I think the best part, you know, I feel really lucky.
You know, I don't take this role for granted.
I feel really lucky to be helping steer this community.
You know, but you know, there's that great
Game of Thrones line, you know, where it's like, you know,
he who calls himself king is no king. And so like, I look at this role as just being,
you know, someone within the community who has a lot of power to affect the community's voice
and, you know, to bring resources to bear. And so, you know, that's why I finish all these
Twitter spaces. I'll do it today, even though I'm about to say it again. Like, that's why I say there's no one in this community I won't talk to.
I sometimes am not the best at responding, you know, our conversations fall off.
And I will continue to get better about that, particularly as my little one grows.
And I have, you know, a little more concentration.
But, like, that's what this role is.
Like, if we're not willing to know the ins and
outs of our own community, there's no way we're going to grow bigger than we are today. And if
we want to see that number up and to the right, we definitely have to grow. And so that starts
with me, you know, that starts with everyone on this call, putting in the effort day to day
to grow. And so it's like, isn't the irony of like, I'm lucky enough to be on this call,
like, that's what you guys have been doing with Welcome Apes for a long time. And it's like, isn't the irony of like, I'm lucky enough to be on this call. Like, that's what you guys have been doing with Welcome Apes for a long time.
And it's like, how do we take the, you know, what you've done and directly filter that
into the question of how do we grow our network?
Who's already in our network?
How do we pair people up to make them better?
Like the idea of being, not just the idea,
but like being approachable day in, day out
and having this network, right?
Of people who are approachable.
I think that's also what I think is of
is the reputation of apes.
We listen to ideas and collaborate.
So I love that you're living that.
Cam, I have three questions to kind of,
and these are questions that are going to help me
and everyone that's a part of Welcome Apes help
as we talk to new apes every month and in the DMs and on the timeline to kind of get a better picture of what to say when they ask these types of questions.
So these are kind of questions for the community.
When a new ape joins a club, maybe they're an artist, a dev, storyteller, a shit poster.
What's the best way that they can kind of start exploring opportunities to build on ApeChain?
Honestly, you know, I think there's no resource in our ecosystem that's better than the community team at ApeChain.
You know, Spend and Neff and Lost and Vi, connect with
them immediately because they're just this wealth of connective tissue.
They know who's doing what.
They know who's looking for artists.
They know who has strong communities.
Where can you find the community you want?
How can you get involved? Should
you join Ape Chain Architects? Are you a builder? Should you join the Telegram? Should you be in
the Discord? Obviously, I'm about to overload their DMs if everyone starts racing to them,
but that is really the best place to start. And then you're also on someone's radar,
and someone's radar who's constantly trying to make these connections. And so I would recommend that to everyone you guys talk to, make sure they meet Spend
And then, you know, whatever we can do to support them from there, we at least have
a, you know, have an open dialogue.
Yeah, I like that, you know, Spend and Lost, they're all really great at kind of tapping
into these community spaces and
and being in there so i think that's a great way to start as well um let's see are there any
underrated ways for apes to support ape chain right now that you know don't require technical skills
I mean, look, I think there's a big piece of the game of Web3, which is extending the
And for Apechain, we're constantly trying to extend ourselves to people who are
looking for their community, are looking to build, have an interesting view, want to experiment.
And so anyone who can continue to pass that message, I think that's just one subtle way.
Continue to retweet, quote, tweet,
you know, translate the message into languages that we're not, you know, currently translating
into, like, help propagate that. Because it's, it's free. It shouldn't be that hard. It's something
we're all trying to do anyway. It also helps you get attention from the communities that you're
already a part of people will see what you're doing. They'll be, you know, they'll be reacting to it.
And like outside of the social side of the house,
I think, look, if you're in BYC, you know,
if you're not an active collector,
I think sometimes you also miss like what the,
you know, in the trenches feels like anymore.
Like, you know, you sort of miss those early days,
like get back in the trenches, you know, on some level.
Ape Chain has a much lower price point
And yet like the activity level
of these communities will shock you.
And like, that is one easy way.
If you're a person, you know,
who actually wants to experience the benefits
of being in a community, like, I really,
I really, really suggest that.
And like, you can do it for a couple of bucks on a chain I kind of feel like the group DM is really powerful way to
do it as well to like let's say something an event happens where it's a
you know the most volume that that ever happened a chain happened or you know
like these kind of events that happen and
like we we pass this chain we're doing this better and i think having that kind of news spread around
in these in these ape chain chats that i know all of us are in can can really help us um
bring that noise out there and signal to people that,
when you bring up ape chain a lot to other like web three enthusiasts, like people that are out there gambling on,
Sometimes they kind of snicker and laugh and they don't think that there's
volume and that there's these things happening over there when really there
more on some of these other chains that they're on.
And I think the power of,
of these group DMS and spreading information is really powerful.
And I'd be remiss to say like,
there are plenty of people in our community who,
they're quiet in the sense that they,
they join the communities they want.
They play with the dApps that they want. You know, they, they show up in spaces when they want, you know, they join the communities they want, they play with the dApps that they want, you know, they show up in spaces when they want, you know, they're not
building, you know, they're not necessarily flipping or trading, but they care. And like,
one of the best things I think is becoming a theme of this call, you know, around network effect is
like, reach out and raise your hand and be like, hey, I might not be doing something today,
but I'm happy to be an active node.
I'm happy to make warm connections.
I'm happy to be somebody that you introduce others to.
You know, like one of the first times I talked to Von Doom, right?
Von Doom's done a great job of being a resource in this community.
One of the first times I ever met him,
he was just like, hey man,
if you don't know how to get to something,
come ask me because I probably can find a way too. And so I think about that a lot when I just like, hey, man, if you don't know how to get to something, come ask me because I probably can find a way too.
And so I think about that a lot when I'm like β I meet a builder in my DMs and like, oh, you know, I'm like β I'm thinking about doing a TCG.
I'm like β this just happened the other day.
I said, TCG, you know, do you know what kind of TCG you want to do?
And they're like, yeah, I got an idea.
Do you know who's making it?
They're like, no, we're still working on that.
And in my head, I'm thinking, great.
Von Doom is just a guy out there who's always just like,
hey, I'll make an introduction if it's in my network.
And I know game developers are in his network.
So right there, he's one of those sort of unsung heroes
of like quietly off the timeline,
I have to be like, hey, Von Doom, can you help this builder
find the right TCG creator?
just make that connection.
And I think there's so many people
quietly behind the scenes
Well said. Aes are connectors and you know i just asking and i know people like baron are always there on the timeline and in dms like he's a great connector as well
for sure i mean baron's a legend uh goes out saying i'm pretty sure you know i got you know
like 2 000 followers and i'm pretty sure like 1999 are directly due to baron i think my mom is
probably the only one that i've gotten on my own so uh baron appreciate you continuing to push the
message that i uh and someone people should be following uh i don't know if that's true but if it's coming from you I you know I deeply respect it we always got a shout
out Baron he's always holding it down for us in the club so much love to Baron
Cam I kind of I just have one more question for you dude I don't want to
take too much of your time like I said I know you're busy and want to pass it to Marav before we kind of venture off into the next part.
Also, before I ask, I wanted to mention that
if you have your other page profile set up
and you joined the Welcome Apes community,
we've gone ahead and whitelisted you
to be able to claim your welcome eight cupcake badge so um it's a it's a
big honor for us to be able to do that for you and appreciate this badge you know if you rock the
badge on your profile it kind of you know lets people know that you're official like a like a
referee with a whistle so i will make sure you got that set up for you i appreciate that yeah thank you awesome all right so my question for you is can you share a time recently when the ape community surprised
you like a moment that reminded you why this whole ape chain mission is is worth it i know
i know you guys are working you know long days seven days you know sometimes maybe seven days a week
12 hour days and i imagine it's not easy some days so yeah is there is there a time recently
when the ape community really surprised you and um kind of remind you why this whole mission is
worth it yeah that feels like such a great interview question. So hopefully, you know, whatever rubric you got there, I do well on it. But no, I think one of the things that we all forget, you know, and maybe we don't forget the importance of, but we forget how it feels.
um it's just what it's like to been to be in real life together and how important that is to like
overall you know the the vibe and the connection within our community it's why ape fest is so
beloved but also important and i think ape chain is slowly growing in its own
you know version of that but you know um I wasn't able to be there, but I
got all the downloads from, from the team, you know, about the, you know, the 21 Mercer event
with this, you know, the team over at Staple and the Pogs that we did and NFT NYC and just like,
you know, how many hundreds of people came through. And I mean, we're talking about hundreds
and how many old sort of names that we haven't seen in a while coming through and like, you know, feeling that refresher of just like, oh, they still care.
They're still here. You know, feeling the, hey, we don't have enough spots or anyone wants to come.
Like, OK, like people are seeing the message. They're getting it. is what fuels us for the next event for the next place that we're going you know you know whether
it's uh you know in the swamp someday or whether it's you know in the desert in october you know
wherever we might be hosting events soon like you remember that like the community rallies there so
to me that's a um you know i won't say it surprised me but it you know it sort of warms you up um and
then i'll just like say like you know i jump on these spaces and, you know, it sort of warms you up. And then I'll just like say, like, you know, I jump on these spaces and that, you know, periodically I'll just scroll to see who's on the,
you know, on the line and like, you know, who's built, you know, who's building and like what
they're building. And, you know, I think you, you do feel that energy, you know, even though I'm
talking, it's only three of us talking on it. Like you do feel the energy of the people in the room,
like, you know, like I'm just looking at it right now. And I did this
last time. So please no one take it as offense if I don't say your name, but just like quickly
scrolling, like, you know, Justin Frederick's like, dude, dude has some of the most creative
ideas, you know, in web three, like we haven't found the right opportunity to work directly
together, but like just hearing what he's working on like
pushes you to want to you know build something interesting for yourself like the rad tv team
you know i got a a fellow cameron brother over there you know like these guys are really trying
to push the envelope both on the content side you know they just launched you know a show that has
uh you know a character in it, you know, but they're
also trying to push it on the infrastructure side. How can you extend that content to,
you know, Sony TVs and, you know, through apps around the world and extending Web3 content to
all of those things when we're being shut out of, you know, Web2 and all that. Like, you know,
I shouted you out last time, Gene, so you get no more love on this one you know but obviously you know all love for you i saw you know minty fresh you're on the line
like dude has you know as a lawyer myself like he's got such a creative idea about how to create
an investment vehicle that is tax efficient for apes like it blows your mind and like sometimes
i'm like i don't know the best way to support
you, but like, I want to find the right opportunities. And so just being a part of that
sort of energy and that sort of, you know, ingenuity, it just, it makes you feel like,
all right, I got to be, I got to bring something more to the table. Cause these, this is the level
that everyone's, you know, everyone's swinging at. I got to be able to swing at that level too.
So again, uh, I not trying to sort of
exclude anyone from that list. I know there's a ton of insane builders here, but like, you know,
coming out of this call, I got to be like, all right, all these guys were listening to me.
What am I going to say that's going to surprise them? Because they always continue to,
you know, surprise and inspire me.
Apes have been known to surprise
and delight. And I got to say,
you know, full disclosure,
with any of the questions that I
your insights and thoughts on and responses to these questions, man.
And again, I just want to thank you for your time and want to pass it to Marav here to see if there's anything that maybe you want to touch on or ask.
And while we still have Cam up here today.
We still have Cam up here today.
Well, I really like that last answer.
Well, I really like that last answer.
And it took me, you know, to the IRL aspect of things and appreciate you for reminding us that, yeah, that's the blood and heart of the club is like getting to know these real people and letting these kind of organic connections happen. So it's really cool.
And, you know, appreciate the answer. I don't know if, Law, we have time for more questions, but
I've really enjoyed hearing from Cam. Just let me know what your thoughts are on that Law.
know what your thoughts are on that law. Anything? Yo, you guys hear me? Do we have time for more
questions? I don't know, Cam. I know you're on diaper duty right now. Do you have time for
one or two more questions? Yeah, for sure. For sure. I got a mobile you know swing in here so as long as as long as it stays interesting to
her uh i'm good oh that's cute yeah um do you have an ape uh so i have two mutants um
when i joined um when i joined yuga apes were uh unfortunately outside my price point um you know but ironically
i sort of fell in love uh with my with my mutant uh and then i got a second one um i'm full orange
fam you know there's only one correct background color uh it's orange oh we might fault you for
that one that's okay yeah i appreciate that but um yeah my two my two mutants
there you know the they'll be passed down to my kids and kids after that those are you know those
are home forever so i love that i love that can you can you just quickly describe your favorite mutant
oh i don't know um the thing that i loved about mine, you know, is the body of the mutant, you know, sort of has multiple of the other furs, you know, with a with a hint of cheetah. And I just felt like it almost like had a cheetah tattoo to it. And so I just for whatever reason, I just thought that was the coolest mutant. I had, you know, and I still think mine is the best.
I'm sure there's others that people love more.
But yeah, I just felt like having that bit of a mixture of the different, you know, essentially
to me, it's like a mixture of all the different bloods just made me feel a little bit like
Cheetah Gang is beloved by all I feel what do you think Law
honestly that's where a lot of the
the ace with style I'll say
it's just unfortunate the orange background thing,
but I'm willing to let it slide.
Cam, are you planning on going to A-Fest this year?
I did Vegas last year for four days, and I'm pretty sure that is
two days too long. So Ape Fest for the weekend sounds perfect. So I'm pumped to head out there.
I feel like the energy this year is going to be immaculate. Um, you know, Hong Kong was insane energy.
This has been brought sort of a different flair and culture to it.
Um, I just think, you know, coming back home to the States, uh, Vegas has been somewhere
that the club has been talking about for years.
People are like, can we do it in Vegas?
I just think we're going to feel, you know, an entirely different level of energy, you know, that we haven't probably seen in a few years.
And, like, we got some tricks up our sleeves.
I know the Yuga team does as well.
We have some on the Ape side of the house.
So we're super excited, you know, to share with the community.
Dude, I cannot wait for Ape Fest.
It's going to be my first Ape Fest myself.
I've had to miss out on the last couple, but this one's close to home,
so I'm definitely not missing this one.
Yeah, it'll be β it'll live up to its name.
I can't wait and i you know i want to ask did you were able to collect any of the nfts that were kind of available to the public since you didn't get a chance to go to you know new york
city last week um there are some really cool pieces that you know that were launched on blever that kind of
you know helped a lot of us feel like we're we were a part of the the fun going on on there
minting these nfts definitely um yeah i mean like you i you know there's a bit of fomo um
i scooped all of them uh you know can't miss out um you know on you know it's like miss out, you know, on, you know, it's like NFTs, you know, at their most
primal level are really a way to show your support for creators.
And I feel like, you know, the artists that we were working with and bringing to Ape Chain,
they're not the first, you know, sort of contemporary artists, you know, come in Ape Chain.
But like, I just feel like they really did speak to um you know what what the
vibe was that we were setting at nftnyc and so you know at that very simple level i you know of
course had to support um but at the same you know on top of that you sort of think about like
you know i've never thought of myself as like an art collector you know i've never really
thought about what does it mean to curate, you know, essentially things that are, you know, your interests. And now, you know, you can check
out the head of Ape Wallet at Magic Eden, like, you know, I've slowly been able to collect a ton
on Ape Chain. And like, you do, like, Marav, you asked the question, like, what's my favorite
looking mutant? Like, I start to see even habits and patterns and the things that I've, you know,
all the NFTs I've acquired. and, you know, in my head,
they're starting to segment and I'm starting to build a collection.
And so, you know, I, for, for, for as,
for as long as I've got ape coin in my pocket, you know,
there's an NFT that I'll be hunting.
We got lots of apes on the ape chain. We got these,
these night gliders, we got squirrels, we got um these these night gliders we got squirrels we got all these
different animals what what animal do you think we're missing on ape chain oh um
that's a great question i don't know um i don't know. Maybe there already is. But when I was like a kid, I just thought manatees were like the funniest, dopiest, you know, animals around.
And I just think, you know, we're in an era right now with NFTs of like cutesy characters are really finding like, you know, and not just NFTs, obviously, you know, across the globe, you know, cutesy characters are having a moment. Yeah, I think manatees would be a really fun collection
to play with, particularly with sizing, you know, how chubby you can make them in proportion. So
I don't know if anyone else would like them. But if anyone drops a collection, I'll probably buy,
opposite collection i'll probably buy you know as many as i possibly can just because i think it's
you know, as many as I possibly can, just because I think it's funny.
funny well you may have just inspired a manatee collection on a pain cam um i'm in it i'll buy
some as well and what was i gonna say i was gonna oh yeah so i don't want to take too much of your
time like i said i know you're busy and before before we kind of let you send off and and get back on duty and get back to work is is there anything that like you want to say that maybe we didn't touch on here today or any ideas or thoughts that how we can continue to help push the culture forward and keep keep helping out with everything that you guys are putting out?
keep uh keep helping out with everything that you guys are are um putting out yeah um
you know i i talked about a little earlier but i i really do think that um first and foremost i
want everyone you know in the community you know or people that think about joining the community
to know like my dms are open my team's dms are open. We're all here. We're real. You know, we care.
We're part of the community first. Not, you know, we don't just work in the AP ecosystem. So if
anyone ever needs anything, whether it's the simple questions of like, can I use the gorilla,
you know, to the, Hey, I've got an idea, you know, to, Hey, will you support or, Hey, I,
you know, just created this new collection, you know, shoot us it. The worst that can happen is
like, Hey, it's just not the right time to chat or it's not
the right idea to chat about.
But please know we're here.
In terms of all of us working together, like I said, we are actively working on how to
strengthen the network effect here.
And I think what you guys are building, have done in terms of being such a welcoming, you know,
force for, you know, the club. I think that that's a core pillar of what that network really is
about. So I deeply appreciate and encourage you guys to keep doing it. And let's also find ways
to really hook that into the broader effort that we're undertaking. And then lastly, like I said, for all the quiet types out there
who don't want to get on some master list or don't want to put anything on the timeline,
but want to be a force for good within the community, shoot me a note. Let me know what
you've worked on. Let me know what your network looks like. Let me know what connections you
either want or need or you'd be willing to make, and be a node for us.
You know, this is a give and take community.
You know, what you put in is what you'll get out.
And I think the more that we all put in, you know,
the more we're gonna get out.
So those are my final sort of parting, you know, thoughts.
I really appreciate being able to be here today,
You know, it never sort of surprises me, the turnout we get, how many community um you know it's uh it never uh it never sort of surprises me
the turnout we get how many people you know in a middle afternoon on a wednesday
you know we'll jump on in so thank you guys for for listening um you know i'm looking forward to
getting chat with everyone real soon
cam thank you so much for taking the time to be here today and spending a little extra time to have fun with us and educate us on what to look out for.
And yeah, this was great, dude.
Marav, is there anything that you can go for?
No, I was just going to say thank you for joining us.
It was really nice to hear from you and get to chat.
And yeah, I loved all the answers so
uh same yeah back to you law for sure and marabh and did you make the at eight fest were you making
the clean cowboy candles with uh oh my god with bad teeth were those yours that was me we do do we
have any more somewhere sitting around i do i i burn mine mine to the dent. All right. I'm going to DM you.
I might need a few extra of those.
To anyone who needs a good candle.
I'll throw in some mints too.
So my lesser known brand, Mr. Clean Cowboy.
I've got those mints sitting on the table right behind my couch.
They're decorative mints.
But no, for anyone who needs a good candle uh and was at eight fest you know in lisbon we had this you know really
awesome mba bodega and marav has you know these really good you know really really great smelling
candles i smuggled them home i don't think i declared them to uh customs i don't know if i had
to but they smell amazing so uh if you do have some extra,
I'm definitely coming for any, but I recommend anyone out there to also DM Marab and see if you
can get one for yourself. Oh my gosh, for sure. That's so funny. Thanks for remembering. And
yeah, I was reminiscing about the vending machine, like in hindsight. So Bad Teeth and I,
So Bad Teeth and I, we like put the candles in the vending machine.
we like put the candles in the vending machine. And in hindsight, I'm like,
And in hindsight, I'm like, who needs candles at Ape Fest?
Like if anything, you need breath mints, right?
So, you know, if we get to do like a version two,
we'll definitely throw some breath mints in that vending machine this time around.
But yeah, I'm so glad that you have some.
I'll definitely get you some more.
Awesome chatting with you.
I appreciate that, guys. Well, thanks
so much. I'm looking forward to getting to catch up again soon. Yeah, and you're more than welcome
to stick around. This is going to be the portion of the show where we start bringing up new apes
and others to introduce themselves and tell us a little bit about themselves, earn their cupcake badges. And one thing I did want to say is, you know,
Dort was planning to be here today to help us host,
and he ended up having a few things at work that he had to catch up with.
And I know that he's super bummed out about that
because he was looking forward to doing this.
And honestly, there wouldn't be a Welcome Apes without Dort.
He helped me plan this. He helps me with this account, forward to doing this so and and honestly there wouldn't be a welcome apes without dork he helped
me plan this he helps me with this account and he helped me out with a lot of the questions here
today so i want to give a big shout out to dort for uh just for being dort he's a legend and we
love gonna start we love dort he's the best and yeah, if you're listening below, we're going to start bringing you guys up.
So go ahead and put those requests in.
We'll bring you up and introduce yourself.
Tell us a little bit about why you aped in, why you joined the club,
and a little bit about yourself.
And I see we have a new ape who just joined us up here his name is
we'll come back to Joshaka if he can
let's see who else we got.
Look at that beautiful PFP.
Tip of the hat to you, my friend.
Don Diablo, not a new member of the club.
Been around for a minute building on Ape Chain.
You know, doubled down his conviction.
Got a beautiful naked cowboy ape.
It's a little bit later in the afternoon for us over here in Sweden.
Enjoy listening to Cam talking about Ape Chain and
Ape Fest in the future. Really cool. Yeah, double down. Absolutely right. And I was,
I think I got my first mutant a little bit less than a year ago.
And Lisbon was my first Ape Fest.
And I think I spoke about it when I got my first mutant on this very space that I was so surprised by the welcome of the Bored Ape, the mutant,
the Yuga community in Lisbonbon and how normal down to earth um friendly and fun
the community was um i remember saying you know i brought my suit with me um thinking that i was
going to meet all these super rich people that were going to be a little bit snobby and my suit
stayed in the suitcase for the whole week um and everybody was cool and hoodies and shorts and t-shirts and vibing.
And, you know, to be honest, that's what that's what really sold it to me.
Yeah. And since then, I built on it.
And, you know, I've been working hard and managed to get a couple of Macy's and a Coda.
I've been working hard and managed to get a couple of Macy's and a Coda.
And then, yeah, just the perfect sort of event happened.
And I'd managed to get half of the crypto, I suppose, or assets that I needed to buy the Bored Ape I wanted.
And my wife was like, I'll pay the other half if you just shut up about it like
it's your new year's resolution to get it by the end of the year you got that tattoo at Ape Fest
and I'm just like just fucking how much she need and I was like I need this much and she's like oh
my god like if I do it like I don't want to hear anything more about it. And if you lose it all and Yuga, like, rugs you,
then we're going to get a divorce.
And I was like, look, after 23 years, I don't believe you.
But, yes, I'm willing to take that.
And when I saw the cowboy, listen, this ape is, like,
ranked 9,880 or something out of 10,000.
It's like one of the most common ones there is.
But there's only 353 cowboy hats.
And I just loved it so much that I was on it for like three days.
We put so much money from fiat into crypto that the bank closed my account cancelled my cards cancelled my apple pay
i had to like um send selfies of myself with my passport to their fraud squad like proving it was
me and they were like well we had to close your account because you've been buying crypto and i
was like what's wrong with that and it's like wow you know it's a big risk and i was like, what's wrong with that? And it's like, well, you know, it's a big risk. And I was like, what year are you guys in?
So, yeah, it was a massive thing.
But it was, it was now looking back, it was kind of funny and it was a lot of fun.
And we had a bottle of champagne and we bought it together.
We made a little gif of buying it.
And, you know, I don't want to go on too long.
There's a lot of people that have got their first ape and this is their space um but what i wanted to sort of get across is that
this isn't something that that's come quickly um in 2021 a friend of mine that played cricket for
for australia had a board ape with a cowboy hat and talked about it to some of our mutual friends that we play cricket with and that's how
I got into Web3 and from that day four years ago November 2021 I was that was my dream was to be
able to get you know a board eight with a cowboy hat and now I'm there of course there's going to
be more dreams it hasn't got any mutants yet so I want to get a serum you Of course, there's going to be more dreams. It hasn't got any mutants yet. So I want to get a serum. You know, it always there's always something right. But it's been a long journey. And the other thing I wanted to say is that absolutely no money, no payments, nothing has come from the typical Tigers. It's a volunteer position I have there as founder. And it's not, nothing's come from there.
If it did, I would have got it two years ago.
So yeah, I just wanted to add that in there.
But I'm super proud, super happy.
it's an absolute dream come true to have done it.
I wanted to do it by the end of year.
My dream was to do it live at Ape Fest
and to have it done at the end of June is just, yeah, it's just fantastic.
We're going to live on Heinz baked beans and sausages and bread for a little while, but then we'll be back to normal.
It's the ApeWave, my friend.
Gotta say, a little jealous of the PFP.
That is a beautiful naked cowboy ape, and congratulations, dude.
I want to also welcome you to the Cowboy Apes as a fellow naked ape holder.
I was cracking up the whole time about your wife saying,
Has she changed her tune question mark uh no um i literally i literally ordered i i ordered a hoodie with it on
and i ordered a canvas and um she's like that's not going on the wall and i was it's on the wall
in the bar so it's fine but yeah no it it's been something that's been talked about for a long time and and before when i was working for other projects um and being paid it was it was
a little bit easier to be up at you know because america's six hours or nine hours behind if you're
est or pst um so to be in all these spaces and and sort of promoting other people but getting
paid for it and then being able to say oh you, all those nights I pissed you off when I was talking and on spaces and had my
laptop open when we were watching films, you know, here's some money.
Let's, let's go with the family on holiday.
Um, and now where I'm solely working for,
for a charity based project with, with no pay,
it's a lot harder to sort of justify that time.
Although she, she sort of admires that it's for that reason
and the mission behind it.
I think, you know, taking that time away from the family
And I think this was her way of sort of saying,
look, you've reached your goal now, so now you can chill out.
So I think it was a little bit of that as well.
Will you be going to ApeFest this year?
Both me and my new co-founder from this week on Typical Tigers, King Skipper, who I believe is actually going to speak soon when I shut up,
have booked our flights from Europe as early as possible,
so they're as cheap as possible.
We've both booked the Abe Hotel with Abe Concierge with Asif.
I had a call with Horda today.
I've had a call with Shanice as well um
looking about you know what we can do there and uh yeah looking forward to it um I've been there
a few times before where with my wife um but this will be the first time solo so yeah it could be
dangerous but yeah no definitely going um and also i know it's it's
really sad but i do have to say it we're paying for it ourselves we're paying all of it ourselves
nothing's coming from the project the charity or any nft funding um so yeah we're not taking
any money away from from from our causes we're we're we're going to represent the tigers but
we're always also going to have some funds so fun. So we've paid for that 100% ourselves.
I know how it goes, my friend.
And congratulations again.
Dude, can you hear us now?
Sorry, my mic rugs, GM, GM.
My first welcome Wednesday as a board ape holder.
Can tell you a little bit about myself.
I'm an open source developer, and I'm coming at Web 3 from that world which is totally different it's
like proof of work not proof of talk so to speak right so my open source software is called just
shock of my lion is the logo for my project got like about 3 million downloads it's like a
About 3 million downloads.
I had to put it on pause about 6 years ago because I got 2 kids and they had special needs.
But one of them just graduated this month.
So I feel like, you know, I've accomplished that mission.
And I got into Web 3 probably in December looking to launch an NFT collection that I'm the
founder of and starting my journey there I figured if I want to be a founder of an NFT collection
I need to start collecting right can't just go out there and say here's my NFT without
deep diving and learning and started trading.
Did good trading, actually went from a Zookies, got into apes,
got a Bored Ape Kennel Club, got some mutants,
got some really lucky trades because they were great trades at the beginning of this year, like Bad Buns and Moonbirds.
Made some good money and finally was able to buy my dream NFT which is a
a bored ape and he's I put him in the comments he's a sushi chef I think
so glad to be here I'm a serial builder if you check my profile I'm building
we bought raid which is a fan art platform I'd love it if you guys could share some love on our fan art contest
because it's a Bored Ape fan art contest.
I think we got over 75 entries, but not a lot of apes commenting.
We gave away a Bored Ape Kennel Club, my Bored Ape Kennel Club, to promote it,
which I think got us, you know, so much traction. And we announced the winners tomorrow. And I think
we're giving each one of the artists will get a Mozan ape as well, thanks to Riz helping out.
So yeah, that's my story, yo. I'm so glad to be part of this great community.
Dude, first off, love the sushi trait. One of my favorite traits on apes. I think it just it's it's funny. It makes me laugh for some reason. And yeah, dude, very impressed by everything that you're working on and and glad you're here welcome
i was trying to find you on on other page and i'm not sure if you're on there yet but i'm going to
go ahead and whitelist you uh to be able to claim your cupcake badge for coming up here
and introducing yourself and sharing this and don diablo i've gone ahead and
and done that for you as well and i wanted to mention that once you guys claim those post them
on the timeline let people know that you got it we'll we'll repost it and uh make sure that people
get stoked on it for you sorry what's other page how do i I find that? So if you look at the first tweet in our Jumbotron up above,
you'll see it takes guts to step into a room full of strangers and say,
So if you go to that and go into the comments,
it'll take you to our other page community.
And it's essentially like um like
are you aware of like steam it's like it's like having a profile for a lot of the things that are
going on within the ape ecosystem ape chain nft communities to communities like us at welcome apes to other regional clubs like the in canada and
southwest region so it's it's kind of like a a mecca of of fun for the ap ecosystem
awesome thank you hopefully i did justice explaining that. Yeah, yeah. Welcome.
Nice to hear about your brand and your experience.
What did you say you do for work?
I don't hear him, but I don don't know What does he not do for work
Sounds like he does a lot
He sounds like a dev right
I should just like unmute but I'm waiting for my turn
You're welcome Minte's here he was
mentioned earlier when when cam was up here let's check in with mentee dude how's it going dude that
was like an out-of-body experience like i was just like i heard my name was like oh crap am i on this
call like you know i'm like doing work i'm like oh wait oh no he's just mentioning me wow what a
mensch um to get the mention from uh you know, head of Ape was really a moment.
I was just like, wow, it's I'm glad that, you know, what I'm working on is having an impact and taking up just a little bit of headspace because there's so much going on.
When you have a new kid, you have a new company.
You're the CEO of Ape Co. now. Really, really astonishing time to be an ape. And he mentioned
efficiency too, and it struck me, and that's why I came up. Because I was, I don't know about you
guys, but I have a hard time selling my NFTs. And so like, it's just, I love them so much. I love
being in part of the communities. I'm like, I get excited about being, you know, in the discords
and chatting with certain people. And so when somebody was mentioning like, oh, gosh, why aren't you minting out?
It's the new generative art.
Do you guys remember the name?
It's, you know, it's, oh, gosh.
You know, I grabbed one, but it was just
I think somebody was just like,
guys, why aren't we mitting this out immediately?
I realized, I was like, wow, this is probably
on ApeChain. I was like, ooh, I better
Side note, generative, I think, So I was like, oh, I better get this. But I was just like, side note,
generative, I think was a bit scary, too, because I think a lot of people associate generative AI,
whereas this is like real like art artistry and tech mixed together. So this is like a really strong project. But to be fair, it was just like it was 58. And people were kind of like, well,
like, you know, our bags are kind of down right
now and like you know where are we going to get the ape and i kind of looked at my own wallet and
i was like gosh i'm like i'm running a little myself right and so but here's what i did this
is the efficiency that you know maybe cam is talking about with with my brain i'm like i have
not tapped into any of the reserves that I'm generating from staking my ape.
I staked it with 2048's ape.
And it generates ape like every day.
And so I was like, oh, my gosh, I haven't even looked at that since we, you know, moved the staking.
And for me, that was like my minor hack.
That's how I was able to mint too. Um, and it's something that I think new apes, um, especially if you're,
if you're, if you're leveling up to, um, uh, you know, an ape, ape board ape proper, uh, you get a
really nice staking, um, bonus, uh, when you're putting your ape up there with your, um, with your,
with your ape. And so it was just an overlooked thing that I was just like oh
like there's no restaking in that system
so usually that's what I do with other
other systems but here it's just like it just
generates and emits and so
why not take advantage of that and maybe
put a little into some art on on Ape Chain
yeah dude I'm glad you kind of came up and Thanks.
Yeah, dude, I'm glad you kind of came up and told that story, as I feel like that was kind of recent news going on in the Ape Chain ecosystem.
Went and grabbed one myself, and yeah, dude, they're pretty fucking sick.
Did Murav, Muravav did you guys grab one
hey guys how's it going thanks for uh thanks for bringing me up sorry uh you guys i just want to
see you guys did such a uh a tremendous job with with it with the interview with cam and um
yeah shit sort of hit the wall here at work so so sorry i could not join for that but
caught the tail end but yeah a lot to answer your question yeah i did mint owen's work i think it's
called pulse width um and i did yeah i minted it in person actually in new york city it was so
fucking awesome man um i got to go on thursday to staple event, talk to everyone that was there.
Losh, Fend, Vi, Spencer, Juan.
But yeah, Owen was in the back.
He had all these like dials
and these sort of knobs you could play with
to sort of set your own traits.
And so I probably spent like a half hour
just looking at all the different types of outputs.
And I think people were starting to get worried about me.
I was just spending my time playing around with that.
And I got to say, the outputs are actually
I think people are sleeping on this it is incredible generative art you know and I've looked pretty in-depth at art block stuff that
goes to one eth plus that I think is abhorrent in comparison and so you know it's definitely
not financial advice but it is it is beautiful art and it did help that I could sort of just mint the piece
that I wanted in person. Definitely an advantage there, but yeah, it was a great time.
I'm having so much FOMO just hearing you describe that process. That sounded really cool.
And if either of you have a link to that somewhere on Twitter, that'd be awesome.
I've been head down painting some stuff, so I haven't minted.
It's sold out, but I'd love to see some video, Dorr, if you had any of that experience.
I think that's something that...
...thing last cycle, especially in New York, you know, just to like, you know, there's a lot of populists there.
There's a lot of DGens there.
But to have a space where you can walk in and mint was interesting and very, very unique.
walk in and mint was was interesting and very very unique
yeah i didn't take any video unfortunately i sort of forgot to take pictures i was too uh
i was too immersed in the experience i guess but um but yeah it it was so cool and uh you know i
had to get shven to put me on the white list and then i minted right on the spot and then i went right up to the artist and i showed him my settings and then he went um right to blubber and
he was able to uh change the uh change the traits to to uh the precise specifications and um and it
just like immediately changed in my wallet it was so smooth um yeah i was really really impressed
and really impressed by all the uh the art collabs
that weekend that a chain did um i just really really really hope we can find uh more just uh
more artists to uh to bring on into a chain and just uh keep keep dropping work there
i got a feeling they're coming dude i don't know if you got you said you came in kind of late but
um you know those questions that that we i i that i asked cam do you like i said i did not give them
to him beforehand dude that was straight that was straight freestyling dude
i like it what i'm hearing. Let's keep it rolling.
I want to go with Andre first since we tried getting to him earlier,
Andre is a new member of the club, just recently picked up an ape,
and I've been seeing some of his work on the timeline,
or retweeted it some of it the other day on the welcome mates account
um really impressed andre welcome to the club happy welcome wednesday how's it going dude
hey guys well uh thank you for having me and thank you to all the support uh i'm uh 23 years old, actually just graduated law student from Serbia.
So I'm basically into NFTs for, I think, a bit more than three years.
And I started learning graphic design and 3D animations on my own by literally YouTube channels. I just saw like a few days ago that I
posted at 2022 that I'm going to have the mutant tape by the end of the year. So I'm kind of late,
let's say three years late, but well, my dream came true. Big shout out to Dachi.
He's a mutant ape as well.
Well, actually, he got me, you know,
on the road to getting the mutant by supporting me
and sharing me into the, I guess, group chats.
Big thank you to all the apes here.
I see a lot of them that I already made art with their apes
and that they supported me or the people that at least, you know,
retweeted me and supported me in that way.
So basically, yeah, I mean, I'm super hyped to be part of the family now
and I can't wait to make more art for you guys.
So I don't know what else to say. By day I'm an intern at the law office. By noon I'm a protester for the human rights in
Serbia. I mean I guess you guys don't know what's going on because, you know, it's a
small country in Europe, but it's kind of a chaos. And by night, I'm a 3D designer.
That's amazing. All of that. Wow. And welcome. Thank you. It's really cool. I'm glad that she brought you in. I'm glad that you got an amazing Aqua on Aqua mutant. Yeah. Did you catch that lock?
Yeah, it wasn't actually even on the floor at the moment. I just, you know, I was scrolling and
I'm not, to be honest, I'm not a trader. I never knew how to trade NFTs. Basically, on every NFT I ever had, I lost money.
And I told myself that I'm done with buying.
But, you know, then I saw the 2022 post.
And when I say something that I'm going to do, I need to do it.
So I decided, you know, to get that mutant for myself.
So, yeah, I mean, I had to get that one because I saw him a bit above the floor.
And then I somehow managed to contact the seller.
And he was extremely chill, which I didn't expect.
And basically, we got a deal in less than five minutes.
Are we saying your name right is it andre well yeah it's perfect in english
in serbian it's a hard r so it's andre but uh i don't mind you're saying it's
okay per i didn't want to i just wanted to make sure and uh nana Nana is actually in our group. We're now sharing some work that you did for him recently. It's so good dude and
Yeah, Nana is a legend. I love his ape. It was a pleasure working with him
Yeah, he's got a great ape and he's a great dude
Know you're I know you're on the other page and I just want to let you
know that we went ahead and got you whitelisted to be able to get in there
and claim your cupcake badge dude I'm glad you came up here and introduce
yourself and looking forward to seeing more stuff of yours on the timeline and
feel free to to tag us whenever you post it man I'd be happy to come in there and
and interact with it bomb bar it with a comment, like, and a repost.
Amazing. Thank you so much, guys. Thank you for the warm welcome.
Amazing. Danny, you got your hand up, dude. How's it going?
Yeah, sorry. I had to raise my hand because I have a hard stop in two minutes.
I had to raise my hand because I have a hard stop in two minutes exactly so I just wanted to come up
and burst Minty's bubble and tell him that Cam talked about me first before he talked about him
about the podcast and everything we're doing on NAVEChain and actually it's not true I wanted to ask all of you guys from welcome
Wednesday because now that the DAO is gone before it was onboarding not any the the DAO is just not gonna be a part of anything
right now like a discussion no no I don't mean it for voting or anything like that but a discussion
forum that it was very interesting to to to take it like all the discussions over there.
And I'm asking because we're doing an, you know, Ape in Espanol every Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
So I want to pick your brain because it's interesting to see what we should do to start onboarding more Spanish speaking people.
So I think your first question was the Ape Quinn DAO.
From my understanding, it's done.
So, yeah, I think that pretty much wraps up that part of it, but you know,
you're asking what can you kind of do to help onboard, uh,
apes and Espanol. And I think that's a great question to ask. And, you know,
simply what we've done is
finding them on the timeline,
keeping an eye out and welcoming and just kind of being,
lending your hand out in whatever way you think is best possible. And I think
what we've done over the last year, what's really been effective is hosting these spaces
and giving a place for people to kind of just come up and talk, introducing themselves and, and making
the environment comfortable where they feel like they would want to kind of come up and, um, maybe,
maybe like putting a Espanol community together. Um, maybe once you get that community established,
create another page profile for your community to come and reward them with things like
a badge or you know whatever kind of I think I think it's just all about fostering a community
that and that makes people feel comfortable and inviting them in and and just and going from
there man seeing what they want to do and I don't know what do you Dorit Marav what do you guys think yeah I was thinking too that
you know if if he's got connections if you've got connections to some Spanish-speaking apes and you
see that they're joined you know maybe maybe you could be in our uh Twitter chat and help us stay
stay in the know about that so we could kind of work together uh what are your thoughts on that
yeah definitely i would love it because uh i mean this is like a initiative that we're doing with stella and honeybee and merge first uh to try and oliver also from mexico and we're trying to you know onboard people and we've been doing this
like for 17 or 18 episodes every week uh we miss last one because uh we were supposed to do it with
a amp but and honeybee but they got lost I guess in alcohol whatever. And we didn't do it because they were in New York City during NFC New York.
But we are trying to do it every week, you know, and try to onboard more and more people.
And we're doing, I think we're doing a good job.
We're learning a lot on the way.
I mean, Law and Mira and or your, your, your super
professionals. And, and this is why I'm trying to pick your brains up. So if you want to bring me
up on, on, on your, on your, on your group, I would be more than, than glad to be there with you guys.
Awesome. Well, Danny, dude, thanks again for, for coming up, up dude and we made it so you can claim
your your welcome cupcake badge on other page and and yeah keep us posted on the the spanish
community and i if i have something some advice for you i think is don't wait on anybody just go
ahead and do it you know like if if other people don't pull through um and you're relying on
them then then just go with it dude just do it yourself that's i think that's the most and that's
like one of the best things i've heard in this space is sometimes you just have to do it
you know what i mean um yeah good luck with it and thanks again dude yeah and i'm i'm i'm gonna jump up because i have to clip the part where
cam uh was talking about me and before minty and love you guys i mean you're you really are doing
a magnificent job uh to tell you the truth uh i really respect and admire what you do
I really respect and admire what you do.
Just wanted to drop that.
I was just like, that's for me.
I'm just like, you want to onboard Spanish speakers?
Let's go Ape Fest Latin America.
We're chatting about some filmmaking too.
So we've got like Spanish apes, film apes, like all here on this hub.
I mean, I know I'm a little late, but when you ask Cam,
what makes Ape Sheen so special, this is it, man.
I mean, this is, it's all this amazing community where we all stick together
and that I don't see on any, any, any, any other chain. It's all this amazing community where we all stick together
and that I don't see on any, any, any, any other chain.
So bye and let's keep the conversation going, please guys.
You're doing an amazing job.
And I'd love to see an Ape Fest personally in Lima, Peru.
My wife is Peruvian she would
absolutely love that um she would love to connect with with all the south american
apes i'm bringing her in a vegas this year but maybe someday south america
think about it i know you guys are listening bye
all right let's go to the hands we have a lot of hands up and um i have about max 45 minutes to
to keep this space going before i have to go to work but um i see let's do new apes first
because they get priority for being new uh cool takita hey yeah how are you right yeah just just Cool. Takita? Hey, yeah. Did I say that right? Yeah, just cool is fine.
Welcome to Welcome Wednesday.
You recently just got this absolutely insane mutant DMT fur.
And yeah, tell us a little bit about you. So I started like mining coins back in, let's see, maybe 2016, 2017.
Just mining kind of altcoins and then working my way into ETH through Doge, swapping to Doge and then swapping to ETH.
Paid off a bunch of debt with ETH.
Got into NFTs with what was left over.
And then got out maybe in 22 or 23
and decided to take a break and finish my degree in cybersecurity.
And then I just finished in May.
And I decided, man, i want to get back in
let me see where the the apes are at saw this awesome dmt on the floor and i just couldn't resist
so yeah and i don't know if you want me to just keep keep rambling but um it's been awesome joining
that's all i can say this is like the most welcoming um group of people i've ever met
in nfts um for one uh baron is probably the best community lead that I've seen, hands down.
Just coming in and then showing, dude, I've been wearing this mutant shirt for years,
just wanting to be part of the club.
And then now I'm actually in.
And then for him to reach out and say, hey, you need a new shirt.
Let me send that out to you. So I've never felt like that before.
Like someone actually cared.
I mean, it's just a simple thing, right, to replace somebody's shirt.
But nobody else has done that.
Nobody else has bothered to try to make me feel welcome until I came here.
And then just being in the spaces too with other apes.
Stella, Tiger, Baka, just trying to name off a few that I can remember just off the top of my head.
Coco, just had a great time in the space with them yesterday.
Hype was in there too, I know. But I don't know.
It's just great being an ape.
And I'm understanding why everybody loves it now.
Hey, I see Master Woodworker in your profile.
And I'm really intrigued.
I was literally going to ask the same thing.
Yeah, dude, great minds think alike.
But do the world of BAYC and wood woodworking do they intersect somewhere in your mind can we expect
like a an ape line of furniture from you or maybe some some uh like wood puzzles or um i'm just
curious man that that sounds like such a cool hobby yeah it is an awesome hobby that i started probably about 10 years ago um and i learned from
a another master woodworker um here in japan he taught me everything i know um and now i'm
just i just love it and i'm it's kind of what i do in my spare time and to answer your question
like can we see some sort of collab um yeah, I ran into the Made by Ape page
the other day, and I was like, I was just blown away by everything that was listed there, and
I'm going to be looking to get my license in there, and I'll be probably making some
wooden things which we were talking about in the spaces yesterday.
wooden things, which we were talking about in the spaces yesterday.
I'm going to start off with real simple things just to show what I can do,
like challenge coins or wall hangings that are made out of cherry and walnut
with your Ape lasered onto it.
The laser engraver I have is not like the cheap Timu $100 one. It's a $40,000 laser engraver i have is not like the cheap timu hundred dollar one it's a it's a
forty thousand dollar laser engraver so it's it's it can do photo quality like i can laser a photo
onto wood so uh yeah just look forward to seeing that and uh i can't wait to hear some feedback
too when i do put things out for everybody cool is like living my
dream I've always dreamed of like studying with a Japanese wood making
master I literally have near me a book on Japanese joinery like literally I
could touch it right now that's amazing yeah I think it started out with my ex
wife actually her family owns you know like a house over here in Japan, and it's made in the whole Japanese joinery style where there's no nails or anything like that.
It's an amazing house, but that got me excited about learning about Japanese woodworking.
So I found that guy and just started learning from him.
So now I'm more into, you know, like laser engraving and like using like a CNC router, things like that.
When it's needed, I can do the Japanese joinery and all that stuff too.
But I just can't get over like
uv printing and laser engraving it's just it's exciting well i'll tell you one thing if you know
how to make a board ape japanese katana um i know for a fact you'd have a bunch of people interested
because after that latest board api club um post they did
with i believe some of what's i don't know who did the artwork actually um with curtis holding
that katana i saw probably about 100 tweets of people asking when katana that's a that's an
amazing idea um i've actually made like huge Lord of the Rings-sized sword.
It's probably about four feet tall out of cherry and walnut.
And yeah, that would be cool to make a samurai sword.
I've never thought about that.
If I do, it's probably going to be some sort of limited drop to limited to 10,
because it's not an easy piece of work i
can't i can't crank out like 200 of those or 10 000 or 30 000 you know to cover everybody but yeah
well cool dude thanks again for for coming up and introducing yourself. We got you to claim your cupcake badge
Yeah, thanks. Appreciate it.
a relatively new member of the club.
for Ape Chain for some time.
So probably a familiar face for those
grinding in the trenches.
Congratulations on this beautiful aquamarine ape, pink fur, flip brim.
Very sought-after traits here.
We're talking grail traits.
Congratulations, dude, and welcome aboard.
First of all, I want to thank my mom um because without her i wouldn't be here to do
with my babe so i want to thank her first um i want to thank my former girlfriend who probably
is not with me anymore because i use the money towards this versus the engagement ring
so uh she's not in the room but hey it is what it is right you know i actually bought this right
around her birthday so i don't think she's too happy with me but you know i still took her off
for some mcdonald's it's good we're good but all seriousness um i appreciate you know you
guys and what you guys have done obviously a lot we've talked a lot in spaces you know i want to
obviously shout out um everybody that i've met over the last couple months uh not only in this
in the in the hn ecosystem but prior to that, that I've had journeys with.
You know, I was definitely inspired by a few people in this space the last year and a half.
You know, just like a lot of you guys, I was in that 2021 period of time.
I also missed out post-COVID.
I was on Kraken, being in Canada.
Shout out to all my Canadian homies.
But yeah, basically, you know, being in Canada is a little bit more regulatory so i can switch my my funds over from from kraken i didn't know how to
set up metamask um otherwise it'd be like the third largest holder behind franklin just kidding
i wasn't gonna be that big but anyways i would have been in the board ecosystem at that point but
it is what it is you know i look forward three and a half years later um you know my my biggest
thing was integrate with ApeChain get to know people on ApeChain start getting to you know
familiarize myself with people um obviously some of the biggest things I said you know showbiz uh
you know as a guy I met well over two years ago but I heard his journey to getting into into the ecosystem into the family um another homie Cortez as well got in um pretty early on and I love his story of
how he got in you know and then I go further back to a guy down the crowd D dot so you know he got
in um when we were part of our communities as well so but just yeah my journey along to coming to
where I am today you know I want to thank guys like you welcoming me even with my my project pfp i was able to jump into some of the ape coin discord
um late nights with obviously my dead fellows and and tiger and what on you guys
dordan a few others that were in that in that in that um happy hour and i just i felt welcomed
right i felt welcomed and it was a natural progression. You know, I've always been longing to be an ape.
I got to that point and now I'm here.
For me, I've said this before and I'll say it again.
This ape doesn't represent my brand.
Absolutely, this represents me.
This is something I want to build for me and my girlfriend
for the future of what we're trying to build
However, I did decide last week,
I decided to give my community another D
because I know that with other sites coming,
it's going to be an awesome opportunity
for them to explore the ecosystem with Yuga.
And hopefully at some point,
they'll onboard into this ecosystem as apes as well.
So yeah, man, that's where I'm at.
And like I said, I appreciate everybody that supported me
And yeah, I've been hosting spaces pre-Ape Chain, back in the day with ETH founders.
And recently I've been doing Monday, Wednesday, Friday founder club spaces with other great leaders in this space,
other great community founders, and just continually trying to help and support them in their journey
and getting them out there on the timeline and spaces to talk one-on-one.
and getting them up there on the timeline and spaces to talk one-on-one.
I just want to, when you mentioned Canada, I fat fingered a thumbs down,
and I did not mean that it was supposed to be a clap, but, you know,
Hype, you actually got to interview and speak with Cam last week prior to us and i just wanted to say like that space kind of encouraged me to
kind of put this all together so in a way you you inspired me to to do this space here this month
dude so yeah i mean i just wanted to say i wouldn't have done it other nice work bro he's
he's not aqua so if it wasn't for the fact he was head of vape chain i would have probably never interviewed him to be very honest um i was very bullish on orange pre um
to be to be frank i i hit up a few people like captain moped optimistic which is the pfp i've
always wanted the all green um and there's a big story behind it but anyways um ended up with this
one i i shared it with showbiz and the first thing he says like bro that's a sick mutant but why not orange and i'm like let's just not get this
started bro so i want to thank him as well for turning me the other way 48 hours after having
this in bro it's going to be aquamarine all the way i don't care what people say they can start
on following me but definitely aquamarine all the way um yeah, we're the smart group. We're definitely the smarter group.
So, yeah, and you just proved that point, bro.
We got you whitelisted to claim your cupcake badge.
And, yeah, dude, thanks for coming up.
He's been waiting a long time.
I've been making him wait.
I've been making him sweat a little bit.
This ain't his first Welcome Wednesday.
But Deep, how you doing, man?
deep how you doing man i love this new ape you got it's pretty iconic honestly uh the the grin
I love this new ape you got.
It's pretty iconic, honestly.
smile is probably in my top 10 favorite traits of the board apes and you got yourself an army
green background which army green has had quite the surgence of of uh apes lately i always had a presence but kind of was like a sleeper background until
recently i've just been popping off dude deep uh welcome happy welcome wednesday how you doing man
i'm i'm great honestly how are how are you guys doing doing all right dude yeah it's it's funny
like um actually like i'll explain a little bit about my background with Board Ape Yacht Club.
I first heard about apes kind of late in my crypto journey.
I started in crypto in 2017, but the first time I heard about them was like post Malone.
And that's when I started really getting into NFTs.
But the first time I participated in the Yacht Club was the other side, Mint, as well as the Super Pass.
And then I got my mutant in September right before ApeFest last year, and I went to ApeFest as well.
And in terms of my crypto journey, the most fun I've ever had has always been through
the Yacht Club. And even when I went to ApeFest in Portugal, I took a friend who's a normian.
He knows nothing about NFTs or crypto. And, you know, I was kind of nervous taking him and he had
such a good time. He met a lot of great people that he still keeps in touch with and he we're gonna make it a tradition to go together as well and um yeah i've made a lot
of great friends here in canada too through um the yacht club like nft prince down there became a
really close friend of mine uh gg introduced me to one of uh one of his events a few years ago as well.
And I've just met a lot of cool people through the Yacht Club.
And I've also had a lot of opportunities because of it.
And after meeting Prince, he runs Board Club Canada.
And I helped him co-host my first event with him this past year during consensus in Toronto and ApeCoin also
sponsored that so we really appreciated that and like I got I wanted to I've always wanted
a CryptoPunk and and an ape and like this ape I've been looking at apes for weeks and I, for me, I like simple traits, nothing flashy,
something that's recognizable.
And so when I saw this, especially like the crying eyes, you know, and it's, I just find
So that's why I liked it and I got it.
And also the reason I bought it is because like i've i'll be honest i've made a lot
of money through um board ape yacht club and i'm like you know it's uh it's a disservice to not
have like a full ape and it was it's the perfect opportunity as well and at the same time like um
some of my friends and i like nft prince um who's been in this space for a while, we started building on Ape Chain as well.
So we have a project coming out in a couple of months and I thought it would be a disservice to not have like a bored ape.
And we want to create something that's fun and unique for the community as well.
and yeah so I really think that like
Ape Chain is bringing back those
vibes with in the past like I said
having fun with the sewer pass and the other side mint
and with the other side games that those
betas that I've been playing they've been really fun so I'm excited
to be back in the in the board ape community
so yeah hell yeah dude glad you're back and excited for what you and prince are cooking
then i have no idea what it is but um i guess i'm excited for it, yeah. I'm locked in, baby. Yeah, it's a game, and it has a very, there's a cuteness factor.
So I think people will enjoy it,
and we want to make sure that it's just fun for the community mostly.
I know Prince is actually, you know, one of the incredible apes
that's part of our welcome committee.
And he's always when he sees apes on the timeline, he always posts them in our group chat.
Yeah, he's always he's always looking out for the Canadian apes.
I got to say, I got to talk to Prince for a long time, a long time on Friday at Hoarders Brunch in NYC.
And, man, pure admiration for what y'all are doing up there in Canada.
And he did give me a little hint that y'all are building something y'all are cooking.
And like Law said, I don't have any idea what it is, but you said it's a game.
Also, I have one thing I forgot to mention.
When I bought my first mutant, I was on a space with Law.
And I bought it on the space with him.
And yeah, so I have a great memory with Law.
Just wanted to mention that.
We kissed afterwards, too.
congrats again on the sick
ape and look forward to what you guys
Who do I not have scratched off? King Skipper. Hadeep, congrats again on the sick ape and look forward to what you guys are cooking. All right.
Who do I not have scratched off?
King Skipper, I know you've been waiting a minute, too.
You're going to have to refresh.
Is this a new ape purchase?
Please refresh in my memory.
Yes, it is. It my my first and only mutant ape
um it's um yeah it's been a lovely hell of a journey which i'm sure we've probably all
experienced if we've been in since like 2020 um i've been you know rug after rug after rug after
rug and moving around project to project so So it just, yeah, felt right to finally ape in and actually get the mutant
And kudos and shout out to Don because he's kind of sort of kept me in the space.
There's been moments, which, again, I'm sure we've all had where, you know,
we're like, you know what, I'm done.
I'm done with being rugged.
I'm done with being held accountable because we're modding on a project and the founders just bugger off and it's just left with
the mods and we get all the sticks so um i i did take a very very small break um just before ha
launched and he came back from um from lisbon was like yeah it was just like the most excited puppy
i've ever i've ever known him to be um And said, look, I'm going to be thinking about launching Tipper Tigers, another collection onto Ape Chain.
We'd love to have you come on board.
Because we've modded in various projects and stuff over the years.
And I'd do anything for that guy.
So I said yes. So he brought me back into the space.
So he brought me back into the space.
And then we we we bought a mutinate to stake that is owned by the typical tiger charity projects.
So we could earn additional ape that we can keep sending to the charity.
So I was wearing that for a while, which is the one they go. You just post it up on there. So I was wearing that for a while um which is the one there you go you just post it up on there
um so I was wearing that for a while and I was very from day one because I didn't want people
to think that I was pretending that I own this mutinate which I didn't um I was representing
the typical tigers and just basically showcasing that we are in this for the long haul and
um we're doing great things for the
project and cross-pollinating with with other projects and stuff um and the love i got when
i changed my pfp to that mutant was was crazy and i was like i need to do this i need to do this i
don't i don't have any excuse i don't have a wife i don't have relationships or kids or anything
like that so i've got no excuse.
So I was like, do you know what? I need to do it.
And then just all the stars aligned at the right time
and then picked up my own one.
Are you, I see you have a typical Tigers banner.
are you working with with typical typical tigers yes um so i worked with them on the
eth project from 2021 um and then i said don brought me over um again when we relaunched
onto ape chain and then just this last last week Don did a very very kind thing
for whatever reason and has made me co-founder of Typical Tigers with him so
me and Don taking over the Ape Chain world.
That's awesome and I see that you're in into fitness and i'm curious have you heard of the
board ape run club because they are really cool i think i think a lot of apes that are into fitness
should be aware of them they usually when there's these events like ape fest or you know nftnyc or
something that a lot of apes are going to be at they get together and do a little bit of a run either before or after the event yeah no absolutely um yeah I've joined the group and
I think I'm in another one for Vegas um called Fat Apes um that we're all planning on meeting up
together um but so far the only conversation's been about the drinking and eating no one's really
mentioned too much about the exercise side of it um but no if there if there is any form of
um activities i know i won't get don involved um i'll have to find that side from um yeah for the
board eight run club um because yeah i'll be i'll definitely be up for something like that that'd be
awesome yeah and i'm gonna interrupt there and say that it's not just some old fat and lazy that i'm not
gonna do it it's because i know that king skipper is a fucking iron man and triathlete that's that's
yeah you know if you're gonna run you're gonna run in vegas in october still kind of warm
in october uh good luck with that you guys i'll be i'll be at the casino in the ac but um i love
that you guys are doing it that's awesome yeah no it's gonna be really good and weirdly enough i
so i did i retired um my Ironman career in 2023.
And my last race was the World Championships that were actually held in Utah.
And yeah, because I am that weird person.
The day after, I did cycle to Vegas, which everyone said was stupid because that's a long road.
But when you're on a bike you just disappear
but i did get a bus home though i wasn't going to cycle it back
well i love it man i'm glad you're here welcome aboard and if there's anything that we can do
you know to help you out or any questions you have feel free to to hit us up happy welcome wednesday you guys i have
about 20 minutes left in me before i literally have to run outside and get going here but we
have we're gonna we're gonna get to nba memo we're gonna get the hoarder but jay shaka's had his hand
up for a little bit wanna wanna touch it him. Is there anything else that you wanted to say, Josh?
My kind of rugged when I was talking.
So we were running this art contest.
I posted it in the comments.
We had like 75 artists take part.
If you look at the art in the contest, these are all artists.
It's part of an artist community we have called Raid. And I kind of feel totally rugged by the
Bored Ape community because apart from my two friends, John B. and another guy, sorry. No one has come.
I've sent it to all the top apes.
I've tried to get it to them in DMs.
I'd just love if you guys could just take a look at the contest and look at the art,
especially with so many people looking to create NFTs on Ape Chain.
These artists are amazing.
And I think it would be great if you guys would just show them a little bit of love, you know
That's great man, um, thanks for for letting us know
And if you guys can go into the comments and and check that out and Josh Rocka would be greatly appreciated dude
Yeah, thanks again for for coming up, and welcome aboard. Yeah, man.
NBA Memo, you are not a new member of the club,
but recently it looks like you picked up this beanie sailor orange background ape.
Do you want to tell us a little bit about it?
I'm so excited to be here almost 11 months later.
Just want to say thank you guys.
You guys have made my journey here with the BayWC family quite special.
First with the first spaces here with you.
Then on Lisbon, it's been quite a ride.
I love to see Don Diablo part of the club man i was super
happy for him i was trying to snipe that ape that he got but dude this is such a beautiful beautiful
catch for him i'm happy for everybody here building yeah man so you know 11 months ago
i was able to be part of the family i got my hands into a pre-negotiated Chita beautiful egg from
And we also got our hands into a DMT thanks to one of our tequila investors.
And 11 months later, I could not finalize buying the Chita because I just didn't get
the money that I was promised.
But after long negotiations with the tequila partners,
I was finally given full ownership of the DMT,
and I was so happy for it.
But I wanted to get an ape of my own
and make the face of Mingles a new face as well.
And I was happy to trade with Pablo.Eath
these beautiful zombie eyes,
which is not a sailor, by the way.
He is a jimador, a tequila jimador,
the guys that cut off the agave prior to be cooked
And yeah, man, I'm happy to be now a proud member
of the Orange background community.
And I just wanted to share with you guys
and give a big, big, big kudos to welcome apes.
Because if it wasn't for you guys, my BayWayC journey would have been the same.
And I hope to give back as much love as you guys gave me at the beginning.
And you already know this, but at least I can give back tequila for you guys.
New ape, new PFP, but same old, same old tequila ape.
Yo, Memo, I love the new ape, dude.
I hope you're coming to Vegas.
If you are, I just needed to know, should I bring my own shot glass or will you have
them with you on you at all times?
At all times with me, brother.
I mean, I know you're a mingles
holder. So yes, I am going to Vegas ape fest. I will not miss a single ape fest, uh, throughout
my life. I think it's a must for everybody. If you already got your hands into a may, YC,
Bay, YC, you have to go to ape fest. And for this year, we have a big mission,
which is to bring tequila bottles to everyone holding a Mingles,
which is part of the aid chain community.
So I'm bringing at least 500 bottles of tequila
so everybody can get a hands on them.
So yeah, brother, I'm going to be there sharing as much tequila as possible.
I just got to go through you know
distribution issues legal etc that but i will have those bottles there for everybody
well i'll bring an extra luggage and i know i'm checking that on the way back man i can't wait
that's good alpha right there bring extra luggage there's going to be a lot of NBA products, especially since I believe there's a lot of NBAs here in America. So you're going to want to load up on a lot of that good ape goods. So glad you brought that up, Dork. Congratulations, NBA Memo, on the new ape and look forward to everything that you are doing with the tequila.
And look forward to everything that you are doing with the tequila.
Let's wrap things up here with Horder, who I believe is fresh out of NYC or maybe still in NYC.
Let's tune in to find out.
Horder, happy welcome, Lizzie.
I am coming off the brunch.
You still in New York City?
No, I'm in Jersey, so I'm not far away.
So just based off over the bridge.
So not tough kind of setting up, but, you know, happy that a ton of apes made it to brunch.
And hopefully everyone had a good time and, you know, shout out to Culinary Crypto for cooking up a storm
of options there for everyone to enjoy.
I saw some of the treats.
The chicken and waffles on a stick looked really interesting to me.
What was some of your favorite items there?
And I'm curious, Dort, did you be able to get a taste on any of these things?
It was a smorgasbord, and I did leave with a bottle of vodka somehow.
Hoarder handed me a bottle of vodka and said, take this.
And so that's like Sailor Jerry's Vodka Company.
I actually got one with Mr. Robot.
So it's the only mega one.
So now that it's sitting front and center on my liquor shelf,
and I might be cracking that open this weekend.
Got a long weekend. So, yeah, it was an incredible, incredible time.
Got to hand it to Horder.
He knows how to pull off a party.
Yeah, I thought I was being slick and sneaking to wear a bottle.
But next thing I knew, I think people saw me do it
and just took the other bottles that were there for display.
I think everyone had a great time.
We, of course, had to have board bagels.
He did some breakfast sandwiches.
He did a board snack bread pudding along with just some normal waffles, and probably forgetting a bunch of other
stuff that he did. But, oh, well, Pancho also came through with his lasagna. So definitely shout him out as well um and unfortunately i didn't get to try it uh by the
time i made it around um you know it was all gone so uh i think that says a lot about it and people
were raving about so um you know that and his his gumball machine was there along with four trading codes showing off other uh nba ip products
i heard the lasagna was a hit and hoarder i gotta i gotta ask you man out of the event
everything that went down is there anything um like embarrassing or funny that happened to
that that you can tell everyone we can can laugh at that happened during the event?
Embarrassing and funny. I feel like if, if it happened to me,
I already blocked it out, which I wouldn't put past myself from doing something
embarrassing. But no, I, I don't know.
You know, I think it was a great time.
You know, I'll be honest.
Like, they packed in the events at that venue, right?
So our event led, I think, into a pudgy event, which the venue, which was owned by,
I think the cafe is actually co-owned by the founder of Crypto Gooms.
So they said, hey, you guys can just leave your IP stuff up.
So I did find it funny that at a pudgy event,
there was just all this ape ip um that people
were checking out so so i thought that was cool but um really kind of funny to me that
you know we we kind of took that over and um it was at a pudgy event But yeah, I mean, I would say if you haven't booked for Vegas, definitely take a look.
You know, I think not that many rooms left and we might we might be coming down the wire in terms of the availability of rooms at the Ape Hotel.
in terms of the availability of rooms at the Ape Hotel.
And then if you are interested in sponsoring
or putting together events for Vegas at the Creator Hub,
we've got three different kind of spaces.
One's a rooftop, a ballroom, and a foyer.
They all add up to be about a little over 60,000 square feet over the three days, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, during ApeFest.
So really looking to help empower and activate some new community and different brands to show up there.
That's right. I almost forgot, dude.
Congratulations, you guys you said i think 90 people 90 rooms
booked for the what you guys are putting together in vegas at the with any concierge concierge did
i say that right um fancy work yep but um that's awesome dude and i And I think everyone that's going to this that's going to be a part of that,
I feel like that's going to be a very magical moment.
So, you know, I'm going to do my best to try and get on board
But really, really think that's something awesome
and special you guys are cooking up for Ape Fest.
And, yeah, I mean, I think you don't have to have an ApePASS to get involved with throwing events.
And even if you're a smaller community, I think there's going to be a couple of different communities,
community, I think there's going to be a couple of different communities, whether, you know,
whether regional or ape chain communities that might pull together and do some different
activations. So definitely reach out. It's not too early to start thinking about that and engaging
around what you have in mind. So yeah, just feel free to DM.
Awesome. Well, order dude, thank you so much for coming up and sharing,
Appreciate everything that you do for the club and for all of us, man,
you're a legend. And with that, we're going to wrap it up here.
Before we wrap it up, I want to remind that we,
everyone that came up here and joined us today,
introduced themselves and told us their stories,
have been whitelisted or were about to get you whitelisted
Welcome Apes Cupcake badge on other side or other page.
And yeah, really, when you guys do claim,
please post on the timeline and tag Welcome Apes and tag other page as well so that we can retweet, and and show you guys some love on that it's a
really cool collectible that uh has art made by morav that we we think you're gonna enjoy um with
that being said and with us coming to an end i want to pass it over to dort and morav if there's
anything you guys want to wrap up with here this evening?
Guys, it was such a great space.
I can't wait to go back and listen to the start of the interview with Cam.
But, yeah, thank you so much for letting me come up and host with y'all.
I'm not much of a host, but, my God, it fun to to get up here and chop it up so um much appreciated yeah i wanted to say it's been awesome hearing from all these super talented new
members from cam um vape ceo uh shout out Hoarder.
I wanted to say hey to you.
Again, I don't spend much time on Twitter spaces,
but this is one space that I never miss
because of the vibes, because of you guys.
So, you know, thanks for having me
and thanks for keeping the vibes
and keeping things welcoming. I love being a part of
that. So thank you. Thank you, Marav and Dork. Appreciate both of you guys so much. I know,
So, you know, doing things like this can sometimes feel like a thankless job.
you know, doing things like this can sometimes feel like a thankless job,
But I appreciate you guys very much.
And I think that what we're doing is really important.
And I think there's a lot of cool things left for us to explore.
And, you know, job's not done yet.
And thanks to everyone who pulled up today.
It's a very special, very special occasion that we look forward to doing every month.
Every first Wednesday of the month.
Happy Welcome Wednesday to everyone.
Make sure you guys give a follow
to all the new apes that came up here.
And old apes that came up here
introduced themselves, and all that good stuff.
And we'll see you next time.
Peace, everybody. introduce themselves and all that good stuff and we'll see you next time peace everybody
