Thank you. You
How's everyone doing let's get them get some thumbs down going. Oh, my bad about that.
Let's get some thumbs downs going.
So we tell Twitter or X or whatever, this is a controversial space.
Sir Rugless, welcome.
Ice, Mr. Ice.
It is so nice to meet you.

We've got Sir Regulus on stage with us too.
Yeah, guys, we'll be kicking off here in about two minutes.
But while we're waiting, yeah, get the emojis going.
There's a little dot in the bottom right-hand corner.
It's right next to the scissors.
It looks like the scissors is going to cut it. I need you to save it. I need you to click on it,
save it from the scissors, and then tell me how you saved it from the scissors in a comment
or just how you're feeling and how you're doing today. That'd be great. Ice, what's up? It's good
to meet you. Please tell me about you and the rest of us because it's our first space together.
Yeah, absolutely.
And we will be doing that in just a few more minutes.
But I just want to say, I think we already did it.
But just in case, I want to make sure.
Let's go ahead and send this one over to the audience for that usual mic check.

All right, guys, mic check is complete,
but please just give us one or two more minutes
to get everything set up on the panel here.
But in the meantime,
head back to the bottom right-hand corner of your screen.
Give us a like, comment, and retweet on today's show,
and we will be starting the space in just a few more minutes.
oh yeah oh
y y Controla a buscar a veras. Y ese juego que quema por gentilento. Conviense en día.
Y una mano arriba.
Sentida sola.
Dame la vuelta.
Y salte duro.
No te quite ahora.
Que los ojos empiezan.
Nueve la cabeza.
Eche duro.
Para la salida de los muros.
Cuarenta trillas de un lado.
Que hay paquita de verano. Que lo que quede en tu solo. Para la salida de los muros. E aí Oh, yeah. Yo, what's going on everyone? Welcome back to San Sound, where audio and digital identities
reinvent sound as we know it. My name is Ice, and I'll be your host for today's show.
Now, ladies and gentlemen, today's space is truly a special one. I've been following the
Orangins collection for San since early 2023. So when I saw the notification that San Sound was partnering up with our team, I could not be more excited.
And finally, we now have the opportunity today to speak with the masterminds behind the project.
So let's get into this, guys.
But first, please let me check in with my co-host, the man who is living and breathing everything San Sound.
What's going on, Devin? How are you doing today, yeah doing really well dude love the voice you uh you got to tell
me about uh you must have a career in this it's just too buttery smooth what's going on yeah yeah
i mean uh i i enjoy yelling at people on the internet once in a while that's uh that's my
go-to bread and butter these days. But how are you,
man? Dude, how are you doing, Devin? Yeah, yeah, really, really well. Getting a lot of stuff done,
of course, always building. It's never a bad day to build. And yeah, it's good to see everyone
here. We got KG down there, Botox, Fresh Linky's, Pacheco. Pacheco, man, it's so good to see you.
Stormy, Santasan, a bunch of you guys too.
And new faces.
It's nice to see some new faces in here for sure.
That's right.
Community members and new friends alike.
Welcome to the space, guys.
But Devin, man, I do want to actually take a couple of minutes in just a bit to get to know you a little bit better before you get into anything about the project or anything about the alpha.
All right. just a bit to get to know you a little bit better before you get into anything about the project or anything about the alpha, all right? But before we do that, let me actually pass the mic
over to Sir Rugwis.
How you doing, man?
Oh, I'm great.
I'm awesome.
I just love that music.
I cannot deny it.
So loving the music taste.
I think we have some members that might not like it,
but they'll turn around to it.
One of my favorite pieces here,
whether you're there for the Brazilian or just vacant vibes,
or whether you are a Fast and Furious fan like I am.
It's got some good memories attached to it
for sure but but guys before we begin just want to say those of you in the audience right now
will be happy to know that we are going to be giving away one sand wear gt gaming earbud right
here in today's space and all you have to do is to enter the raffle is to drop a comment or question in the reply section for the space in the bottom right hand corner.
Click the little message bubble.
Go ahead and question that you guys got for the project.
All right.
And Devin will be choosing one winner at the end of today's show.
So make sure you guys stick around until the end.
But that being said, before we kick off into any of the, any of
the project questions, Devin and Sir Ruggles, I'll go Devin first and then we'll hit it to Sir
Ruggles. But yeah, just tell me a little bit about yourself, Devin. What was your, what was your
journey like before you got into Web3? Oh, before Web3? Whoa. Um, well I was born, um, to a, to a
mother and a father. Um, yeah, moved around a lot. Most of my family is military,
so we were moving around a lot, quite used to that lifestyle. Grew up in pretty much
central Pennsylvania, moved up to do some school in upstate New York, went back to central PA for
some more school, studied optical engineering and plastics and polymer engineering.
I studied optical engineering and plastics and polymer engineering.
COVID hit.
I moved out to Colorado and jumped into Web3 from there.
So, yeah, it's been a fun ride.
And I've worked at a few startups here in Web3.
One was super early days, and then one was a little more established in Silicon Valley.
And then from there, went and launched on with some wonderful people.
And we built a great community here and have an awesome product.
So it's been a whole journey and got to meet Sir Regulus along the way.
So that's a diamond in all of the other diamonds.
Yeah, that's the biggest W out of all of it, right?
Brother, wait, so you said you went to school for optical engineering is this um is this pertaining to like laser
surgery or is this like a optical like prosthetics like i'm just so i'm getting this correctly
yeah so my my study was like starting i wanted to start an optics business. So I, but to answer your question, yes, light lenses, lasers,
University of Rochester, where I and actually Edgar down there,
we both went, is the Institute for Optics.
So they have invented a lot of the most important lens arrays,
laser arrays for things like James Webb Telescope, for instance,
which I think a lot
of people have heard of, the IMAX projector lens, the iPhone camera, a lot of stuff that comes out
of Apple, whether it's the glass you use, the lenses in the camera display come from students
who are now working at Apple. Gotcha, gotcha. Wow, man, that is a pretty drastic change in practice and career choices.
What caused Devin to go from laser surgery engineer to now a Web3 builder?
Yeah, that's funny.
I mean, it's all at the end of the day.
Well, it's about the mentality of, one, kind of building something, right?
Engineering, you kind of just want to be a builder.
And two, I also grew up in a family of people who built their own businesses as well.
So it was always kind of a goal there.
And while we were all locked inside, well, I can't really go out and build a physical company.
There's this whole online digital side.
And I had at the same time throughout college written a book on decentralized organizations,
nothing to do with like Dow or DeFi or any of that, but just traditionally decentralized,
non-hierarchical or semi-hierarchical companies.
And I'd gone and interviewed a bunch of leaders in the space and kind of weaved my thesis
leaders in the space and kind of weave my thesis through it.
through it.
And while I was kind of on that tear, I was meeting these, bumping up with these people,
up against these people who were talking about DeFi and ETH and this decentralized, you know,
governance system that was being built and all this.
And so I was like, okay, I should probably, now that we're all locked inside, take some
time to actually dive into this.
Met some great people and it kind of just spiraled into a company from there called
Wise Token. And we built that in about nine months to about a half a billion dollar
total value locked, fully decentralized protocol, locked liquidity, a lot of the stuff that like
Olympus DAO or some other protocols use as fundamentals for today. So it was a lot of fun
back in 2020. Oh, bro, Olympus Dow. That is a throwback,
man. Do you guys, do you remember just being on the webpage like 24 seven, like counting down
the seconds until the episode turned that Lambo? Like there was a Lambo calculator built.
Nice. I remember that so well, bro. Yeah. Well, Hey, tell me a little bit about yourself. I'm,
we have a ton of
audience members here who are very eager to meet you according to our discord oh
wow I had no idea that's that is an honor man thank you guys but there's not
much to know I think everything there is to know about me is pretty much written
on my bio there but yeah I'm a show host I'm a streamer I'm a voice actor and I
did uh how long is it now close to a decade I was in the wedding filming editing industry. But now, as I said, I just yell at people on the internet. But yeah, it's a solid change in career choices for me.
Sweet. Yeah, voice actors. That's awesome, man.
Thank you, brother. Thank you, brother. But no, but nothing about me. But thank you, Devin. Wow. wow so going from laser laser surgeon to web through
but yeah yeah we'll keep that yeah we'll keep that it sounds it's got a little bit more flair
to it right but i can't i can see where you're coming from devin because um like two things
right like when you're meeting with d5 folks and you're talking about it and it's kind of like the
thing that's pushing everyone to kind of congregate in the time of COVID that is definitely one aspect but the other aspect that I love about your backstory
is that you're coming from a family of business leaders right and there's that saying in uh in
principle of proximity that we eventually become the average of those who we work or hang out with
most so you being around so many business owners and leaders it definitely shows like the entrepreneur
level of efforts that you bring to the table.
So very interesting. I love to hear that, man.
But before we snowball into the main body of today's conversation, Sir Rugless, my friend, I want to take a quick minute and hear a little bit more about your story, sir.
Oh, I'm just a nice little guy that likes to help Devin every chance I can.
And likes to take him to eat out and everything like that.
No, I'm from Portugal.
I have a 9 to 5 job.
I'm a normal dude.
I don't yell at people on the internet because, yeah, I don't have that voice.
You have the power, man.
Just one question.
Do they yell back at you?
No, no, they don't.
If they want, they can do TTS, text-to-speech, on the stream side.
But no, they cannot yell.
AI cannot yell.
Text-to-speech cannot yell yet.
But maybe that's a good idea.
I did some pastes with text-to-speech because usually I can't really talk on spaces.
And the people got scared shitless.
They were terrified because they thought that some bot was going to kill them.
So that was pretty fun.
So, no, again, sorry.
I'm Portuguese.
I'm a major in IT.
I'm an IT manager.
So basically, I just like computers and everything that's related to it.
And I love blockchain and listening to Devon talk about Sansound.
And I love my Sansound devices and I love my community.
That's pretty much summed it up.
Man, brother, if I had the power to go back in time,
I wish I majored in something much more useful. I wish I majored in something like much more useful.
I wish I majored in IT,
something that I can actually use in my day-to-day life.
So for context,
I went to university for chemistry and physics and bio.
Nothing has anything to do with anything
that I do now, right?
But I know here we are.
So it wasn't a waste of time.
I have no idea.
It got you here.
It wasn't. Yeah, exactly. It wasn't a waste of time. I have no idea. It got you here. Yeah, exactly.
It wasn't a waste of time.
It got you here.
And do you love what you do?
I mean, the chemistry side or the yelling at people side?
The yelling at people.
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
I love yelling at people.
Not with chemistry.
No, no, please don't.
Not that much, okay?
Yeah, but see, the path took you there,
so you should be thankful for everything you learned in the path.
And I have a solid receipt here in the form of a diploma to prove it.
But, guys, actually, before we snowball in,
I almost forgot.
I literally just scrolled up and I caught this.
But I want to actually redirect everybody's attention to the top of the Jumbotron for one quick second.
All right.
There's a tweet recently put out by Sansound.
And I got to pass the mic to my man, Devin, to kind of talk us through it.
So something is coming.
Should we be knowing a little bit more about what's going on at PAX West, Devin?
Can you talk to us a little bit more about what's going on at PAX West? Devin, can you talk to us a little bit more about this?
There are a few people who are part of our newsletter series, basically just like core community members who are helping us really get this under our feet or whatever the phrase is, as we start up our newsletter program. And the first one, we left a lot of major Easter eggs and Botox
down there, took the liberty of tweeting out a whole thread with not only the parts that he
thinks are the clues and whatnot, but also some interpretation he had. He's very good at it. So
if you want some deeper alpha than I'm going to share with you today, because he's too close to
the truth, you can go look at botox stuff but um yeah the gist
is we'll be at pax west uh we have actually a video at the top of son sounds um page it's pinned
a little video from me um it's a pretty short minute or so basically outlining we're going to
be there this is a big jumping off point for us you know we son sound have been around for about
three years a little more at this point, and we've launched quite a
few products at this point, right? So we've been heads down, working really hard. Obviously,
the technology we've delivered so far is, if you've heard it, I'm not here to sell anyone on it. You
have to hear it yourself, right? But if you have heard it, you know what we're about and you know what we're doing here is is pretty special um we have uh yeah what what was coming next is uh even even more special um so we're
really happy to uh really excited to show this off uh to the audience at pax west uh we'll also be
announcing maybe some other fun collabs and uh yeah this will be just the jump start of, yeah,
a lot that is coming over these next few months
that has been very carefully planned over, yeah,
basically the past three, four months.
And these spaces are even a part of it.
Looking forward, ICE, to doing a lot more of this with you
and to along the way, as we drop, you know, A, B, C, D, E,
to be here to, you know, communicate about it,
tell people about it, answer questions,
and then hopefully get some feedback
because that's what we're all about.
You guys heard the man.
It's up to you guys in the audience
to tell us what's good and what's not so good.
All right.
We want your honest, unfiltered, raw feedback
to help everyone, to help us as well,
you know, make the product better. So shout out to you guys in the audience but you know speaking of pax west
bro i don't know i don't know if you played any uh league of legends in the past but my only
experience and memory associated with pax was um i want i want to say it's like year two or year
three when ryan launched the game um they had like a pax server skin going on it's my first time
it's my first time being in any kind of major gaming tournament, honestly.
But I have such crazy fond memories of that.
So, man, you guys just took me back.
I'm really looking forward to it.
Probably can't make it, but I'm going to have to live vicariously through you and the rest
of the team when that happens, Devin.
Do not worry.
We will be making it very – we'll make you feel like you're there.
That's my job.
I'm showing up there with the sole intention of capturing as much content for
you guys with what we want to capture, but also just like kind of fun stuff to
again, help you feel like you are there.
Of course, there's going to be some stuff that if you are there, you're going to
get to experience that other people who aren't there won't at least for, you know,
a little bit. So being there, you're going to be first,
and it's going to be a lot of fun.
Whole team will be there, myself, DL,
Mark, and a few other members of
our team who you guys probably haven't met.
That's to our community and to those of you who are new here.
That's my co-founder, David Lung.
He was the founding engineer at Beats by Dre.
He's essentially built all the technology when it comes to
an audio standpoint that goes into our sound.
It's 20 years of experience in this space of helping pretty much build the consumer headphone market.
So we have a special team here, and there's a lot of other talented people on the team that I won't go into on this space.
But I hope that the people who do show up get to meet them.
They say IRL is the alpha,
and SunSan is definitely packing a little sauce behind that.
So if you guys are available, you guys are in the area,
or you guys are going already,
please check them out at PAX West, you guys.
And one last thing before we begin, all right?
I see that we have a handful of more audience members
that have joined us since the beginning of today's intro here.
So just to kind of give everybody a second chance
and update on everyone what's going on,
we are giving away Wonsanware GT Gaming Earbud
right here in today's show.
And again, you guys can enter the raffle
by going to the comment section.
Give us a comment or question in the replies.
And again, Devin will be choosing one winner at the end of today's show.
So get cracking,
get creative and make sure you guys stick around until the end when he
announces the winner.
And just to prove that we do do this,
last week or a week before,
I just posted this on the Jumbotron,
was the winner and he just got his,
I believe a few days ago posted about it.
that's what they look like.
A little unboxing experience sneak peek if you're new to this.
And yeah, just very excited to get your feedback once you do hear it.
Because that's what it's all about, is the experience.
I'm actually going to check out this video after today's show is over.
I have my normal AirPods when I'm going out and doing stuff,
but when I'm back at home,
I was just gonna say that you're gonna,
you're gonna hate this even more now.
And it's not like when I'm not out,
when I'm trying to just like be like,
just be alone and like, you know, a little bit ghetto.
I have these like Timu headphones, right?
Like they're, they're good.
They're good for taking a beating.
I don't really care about them, but I'll be real.'re they're on the verge of breaking so yeah i just saved the build
quality on that's going to be uh yeah generational let's just say hell i don't know if you're passing
that down to your kids yeah oh yeah sorry. Please, I cut you off.
No, I was just saying, we're going to hook you up.
Don't worry.
DM me a good shipping address and we'll have you sorted by this time next week.
Oh, my goodness.
Thank you so much for that, Devin.
But let's bring it home, man.
Let's talk about the project.
All right.
So what inspired you and the team to build Saw & Sound?
Yeah, so it originally started...
Are you familiar with Oniforce, the anime PFP project?
Yes, yes. Yeah, that's his PFP right there.
Yes, bingo, bingo, yes.
So, I mean, we have a lot of shared community.
The original design of the units themselves, the way they look like like a Gundam rocket ship thing.
Right. There's obviously a lot more to it.
But that was I'm Complex. So he is the artist behind Oniforce.
So he, a producer, DJ in the space named Kaku, who a lot of you do know, they got together and were like,
hey, this Oniforce thing is about to launch. Let's maybe try this fidgetal, you know,
artifacts doing its thing to, okay, wow, they've done quite well. Let's try and do that with
headphones. So they went to David DL, who again, built Beats by Dr. Dre, worked at Monster, a bunch of other audio
companies that again have shaped the consumer headphone industry, consumer audio industry,
and said, hey, basically, we've had this idea. Then Oni came out, did well, kind of just,
I would say, distracted, but definitely took their mindsh share away from it and in the meantime you
know factory was kind of working on um okay how do you how would you ergonomically create this thing
because it's a piece of art first and foremost then it's not traditional uh it's not traditional
design so um during that time that started to happen uh they got designs back they're kind of
showing people i was in in New York for,
this was wise at the time. We were doing a thing on, geez, what's it called? NASDAQ,
interview on NASDAQ for what we were doing there. And just happened to bump into Kaku,
go to dinner with him. And he's like, hey, we're trying to do this. You've got some Web3
chops. Could you help us kind of engineer this digital side of what we want to do?
The idea of you have the digital item, you can redeem for the physical.
Okay, very cool.
Yeah, sure, I can absolutely advise on this.
And you've got some other team members together.
I came over to Taiwan to meet DL, and we sat up on the roof, uh, you know, drinking some whiskey and it was,
Hey, uh, Oculus, that was what we started talking about is so good. You know, VR is getting so good.
And this is in 2022, 2021, 2022. Oculus is so good, but the sound is not, you put this thing on,
it looks so real, but as soon as someone talks behind you, you're taken out of it. Or you got these clunky big headphones on top of this big clunky
thing on your face. It's just not a natural experience or not a natural way to interact
with a metaverse, so to speak, or a virtual world. What if you could have a really quality
in-ear solution that gives you spatial? On top of that, maybe you don't even need the visual.
Maybe it could just be such a great natural,
like I said, interface to a metaverse that is all audio.
That would be so cool.
This started this idea of, well,
actually let's try and do more than just some earbuds that
are digitally shipped or dropped on blockchain.
Let's actually try and build a company around
the first really quality
spatial audio earbuds right sound that is inside your ear in your head but has outside the head
sound like it should be like physically impossible right so that's what we started we built a
community around it we other artists from oni force like chrome agnes who've been part of the project
Oney Force, like Cro-Magnus, who had been part of the project,
helped us launch the Origins collection, right?
So this was a free mint giveaway.
Come on in, and I won't go through all the mechanics,
but essentially, if you're really in this ecosystem,
we're going to prototype these earbuds with you, right?
And we sent them out 22 countries,
and our community were the beta testers.
They told us what they liked, what they didn't like.
We changed a lot. We did a few iterations of that. One was, hey, if you had a pair of this,
these you could vote on what creator, influencer, producer, more professional use person that we
would send a prototype to as well. So we got their feedback. And we came out with a product that, you know,
everyone who helped us prototype got a version, of course.
And we started to sell to the open market.
And, of course, we started to realize then, okay,
spatial audio is something that is subjective, right?
Wow, this sounds great.
It's like wine, right?
Okay, I drink this thing.
The notes are airier or whatever.
But with gaming, we started to realize,
okay, that is less subjective.
That is very objective.
I can hear the person 10 degrees up,
four degrees behind my head.
I'm going to turn, point my gun,
and get him before he gets me, right?
I won the game
instead of losing the game because I have this advantage. So we had a, we still are a spatial
audio company. We make spatial audio products for music, for production. Um, we'll go into that in
a little bit, but gaming is really, uh, we saw as the main market opportunity for these because it
makes most sense to people.
They get it.
This one doesn't sound like this.
This one does.
And yeah, we built obviously some gaming specific features
into our GT product,
which is like ultra low latency,
wireless, so no lag,
some other stuff that allows you
to use the microphone
without having something called
hands-free protocol compression
or switching. So it doesn't compress your audio while you use the mic so just some things that
like are very uh you would expect from a gaming product but we're really we really care about the
audio and we're really trying to pack that into it so very long uh winded answer to your question
but that's that's how we got started and that's's pretty much the journey up until now in a major nutshell, because a lot has happened also.
Man, what a journey that has been.
I love past stories, and we'll get into the present and future in just a bit as well.
But I just got to say, as a fellow gamer as well, audio is information, right?
It's just not about how crisp or how nice like music or
sound sound. It's about identifying where the next potential threat is coming from. And while
Oculus is great, but the audio being so bad and I think gamers will know this already, right?
Audio is half of any video experience, gaming or not. Games is one thing, movies is another,
or just watching anything on YouTube. Audio is half
of that experience. So it's so important to maximize that part of the full intake of what
we're actually experiencing. But I do have a question following up from what you just said.
So the headphones or the earbuds, both of these are a similar product line, I assume.
Are these products part of the holder's utility, or is it a separate product that the company is working on altogether?
Yeah, it's all tied in.
So the holders, when they came in, we were ahead of the curve, I think, on, well, I know, on Soulbound technology.
So this was in 2022.
We allowed you to take your Freeman, San Origin, right?
These are different character, like squirrels and dragons and tigers and whatever.
Really great art, all keyed around this, like, triangular piece.
San Means Three, so everything we do is very geometrically triangular, just a little thing.
And you could take that and you could soulbind it.
And there were four tiers you could soulbind it to.
And that helped us uh identify who was
who to send these to basically um the reason we did this largely too with web3 and then blockchain
is now we can use a unified currency we can have a global community we can have a global uh tester
uh community to like we can ship these things all over and get um less or more diverse feedback
right so the holder utility there was prototype with us and prototype a few times with us right
um but then going on and being a holder as well uh we had this thing where if you had these the
ones you didn't soul bind right they weren't locked to your wallet you could freely trade them
well you could take three of them and there's a fun little game mechanic there
too but you could take three of them and burn them and in return you got a pass for our now avatar
which i'm rocking sir ruglas is rocking crow magnus down there is rocking uh pacheco is rocking
on tame peppers um yeah a few other people but those you got one of those, and you got a pair of our for-market, for-sale versions as a digital that you could redeem for a physical.
So a lot of what we do is more in the RWA space, but there is a component to this as well where with your avatar, which, again, if you download a mobile app, you can control all the features of the headphone.
where with your avatar, which again, if you download a mobile app, you can do control all
the features of the headphone. You can adjust the EQ. You can change the sound modes, tap gestures,
lights, a bunch of other things there, but you also have your avatar there. You can connect your
wallet and plug that on. The way avatars are built is they're composable, like they're built on ETH,
right? And you can swap accessories on them. The novelty there is it doesn't cost gas to swap accessories.
So kudos to us, pets ourself on the back.
But the idea there is, okay, if I have a hat, I can put that hat on.
And because I have that hat, the app can read and give you certain things for having that.
So the holder utility is you get a grander experience inside the ecosystem and perhaps
even with the product itself.
There's a few other things, but that's the high level, right?
It's a pass.
It's an access pass that also helps you create more of like an on-chain identity because
these avatars, you can also, they can own ETH.
They can own other NFTs.
They're configured to be a wallet themselves.
So we can start to build more of like a
selling-specific Web3 payment rail ecosystem
that down the road we can do a lot with,
with spatial audio content creators and consumers
and create more of an ecosystem on our turf inside of our app.
That's very fascinating, man. So RWA, these headphones, I'm bringing things back to the
holders. Because you mentioned RWA, my head goes to deepens right away. I'm just curious,
does using the headphones affect the owner on chain or perhaps in Discord roles or anything like that in any kind of way?
So we have something that is on the horizon, a lot of hurdles with it, just working with Apple and whatnot.
But our community knows quite a lot about it.
We call it audio mining.
So this is the idea that you are listening to content and earning, let's just say rewards because of it, right?
You can unlock more accessories that unlock certain things, right?
You can unlock accessories and then of course flip those accessories and make some money or whatever, right?
There's different ways you can play the game.
But the idea is, yeah, these things do have the ability to, you know, no other earbud on the market, I don't think, has what we built into this from the get-go, which is it can measure what you're listening to.
And verify that it is like a securely or securely verify that it is the device that is our device and not someone else's device. So there's a lot being built on that side.
I don't want to go into spoiler territory there
because it's been a long time in the works
and there's a lot to it and we'll get there
and it will be glorious.
But yeah, in the meantime,
the D-pin aspect of it is more reserved.
So all this stuff is still to come in the future,
but I like this, man. I like, I like, I like it when a product has like a base use and this use
synergizes with a lot of things that we already do in our daily lives. Right.
And us being a spaces host or streamers or gamers, like you need this technology in our lives.
That's all. That's our point too, is like you wear, I'm saying you, but we
wear earbuds almost everywhere. Like I wake up, okay, I might be, I go on a run, right? And then
I eat some food. I'm watching a podcast or you're listening to podcasts, watching a YouTube video.
Then I'm commuting to work. Okay. I got my earbuds in. Then I'm at work. Okay. I'm working.
I'm probably listening to music. Then I'm maybe going to, uh, walking to lunch or going to the
gym or whatever. Okay. At the gym, I'm using it. I get home.
Maybe I meditate.
Maybe I relax, play some games.
Maybe I watch a movie.
I'm using the earbuds.
Up until some people even sleep with them.
And I don't really always recommend that.
But the reality is we listen to audio.
We have audio.
We have something in our ear almost at every point of the day.
That's a powerful way
to interact with audio. And what I want to say here is audio right now is a one-player game,
so to speak. I listen to my stuff and that's it. There's no, besides this, what we're doing right
now, this is interactive audio, but this is so niche, right? How do we make this more a part
of the hardware that we use to listen and also get rewarded
for or be incentivized to participate in that in a way that's actually like fun and more
like a game that also, yeah, can have some really nice rewards on the back end for my
participation because it's Web3 and we know how to play that game. Um, but yeah, the,
Eric and Nicole, we're doing this anyway,
get rewarded for it. Right.
Isn't that the whole point of web three in a way?
It's definitely one major aspect of it. You know, those are,
those of us kind of out here grinding for rewards or grinding for our kind of grinding for like job opportunities either way we're
out here trying to find some some kind of facet to change our lives with right
so yeah I even mean more fundamentally than that right like self-governance or
self-sovereignty or decentralized governance like stepping away from, oh, you're kind of,
you know, this is what you're told, you sold ads, you're this and that. What if you could
take that all back? And I believe our community really resonates with that. And yeah, it's just
been, yeah, we'll get there. But we're getting there and we're building legit products to help get us there, build sustainably, right?
Yes, sir. And this is what I love about it. It is a product that's easy to understand.
It is a product that is very applicable in daily lives.
And we all know how to use headphones and earbuds, right?
The worst is when a project comes out with some kind of crazy novelty, very innovative technology, but it can only be used in Dubai.
Well, bro, like that, that's not helpful for me right now.
I'm on the other side of the world.
But you don't live in Dubai?
I thought everyone was moving there.
I know, I know.
It's a bucket.
It's on my bucket list, man.
At some point in my life, I will make it down there.
But, you know, we talked about the past.
Let's talk about the present and future, Devin.
So where is Sound Sound now in the present? And what are we looking at over the next
one or two years into the future? Any thoughts on this?
Yeah, for sure. So yeah, like we said, we're like, I just said, sorry, it's we're building
a fundamental business that can then return rewards back to the people who helped us build this
business in the first place. And they're going to be a part of it. And they're going to be part
of the whole ride. And we're going to have a lot of fun along the way. So yeah, we're building some
more, we're iterating more on the technology that makes us different, so that we have an even
further gap between, you know, anyone else, including the big legacy guys, right?
We're building in a way, again, that is,
let's call it more interactive,
towards more interactive audio,
but also specifically more spatial audio, right,
as the medium.
So we've started to, even the past few weeks,
we've been releasing a video series
with this creator creator sam barker
if you go on our instagram you can see all those nicely laid out in our reels um they are
like famous anime scenes from a whole host of you know arcane gundam um uh a whole bunch right
there's 10 of them actually you can go watch or nine out right now. The 10th
one that is coming out. This guy is brilliant. Dolby Atmos, you know, spatial sound engineer.
And he took just using our somewhere GT earbuds. So they're built for gaming, but he produced with
them using the low latency feature in the spatial engine. And you put in, you can put on that normal
headphones or earbuds, but you put in somewhere specifically. on that normal headphones or earbuds but you put in
somewhere specifically it's it's like wow this he's transformed the sound in this scene to above
your head below like a brown you like it's just absolutely fantastic and you can actually see
how he did it as well so there's there's some i'll find this we posted a little bit ago um so
you maybe don't have to leave the app but i definitely
recommend checking out at least one of them um it's really yeah here we go this one this one got
like two point some million views on it um i've not i've not seen the anime eminence in shadow
but apparently there's some big big fans of it um This one's really good. And the sub bass, too.
That's another thing our earbuds do really well is the really low,
like move your chest type subwoofer sound.
That really comes through really well.
So spatial audio is going to be really at the forefront of everything we do
and trying to highlight more creators that do use it,
but also make spatial audio easier to create and consume so that's the main thing lowering the barrier to entry because
right now uh if you want to go do something like this you need dolby atmos okay this you know the
course is maybe 200 and some bucks certifications another 200 bucks then you need some maybe need quote unquote uh some like sanitizer hd800 some like really nice
you know hundred fifteen hundred dollar headphone with an amp so another you know 500 bucks there
probably for a good one um and that's on the like low end the the high-end guys have studios that
costs you know ten thousand a hundred thousand $1 million. Some of these reference studios cost even more than that.
So it's a really, really expensive game.
And the fact that we went to Adobe Atmos Reference Studio
as a team recently and gave the owner of the studio,
who's the main engineer, these files to listen to in the studio.
He's like, how did this kid do it?
And we're like, just with our earbuds.
He's like, you're lying.
I was like, no, dude.
Like I watch him do it.
Like we were on a Zoom together.
He's doing, he's in his kitchen.
So it's really cool to see that barrier get lowered
and this whole medium of sound get unlocked
for more and more people.
So that's the big focus.
Of course, we're doing stuff at PAX,
like I said, here in the short term.
And we have some really exciting technology coming out partnerships
coming out and of course we're just growing as a company and then on the web
three side of course avatars allowing you to swap your accessories and do a
whole lot more with them and interact with them inside of our mobile app
that's of course really a focus here in the short to midterm as well. Oh, man, so many things.
We got to talk about this mobile app and also kind of like the gamification elements that you guys brought to your ecosystem.
And I know we were literally just talking about anime.
But, you know, we got we got we got Mr. Web3 Gaming is inevitable in the building right now.
So shout out to you, Sam.
But, you know, let's bring things back to the game and also about what you said surrounding, um, spatial sound for, for you and the company,
Devin, what makes spatial sound so important for gamers? Yeah. I mean, you just, you said
it yourself. It's, it's maybe half the experience. If you're playing Fortnite, call of duty,
one of the, you know, any kind of FPS, it's literally it i can hear this guy coming you know
12 feet that way and four degrees up okay he's up the stairs the door is about to open let me just
train my gun on the door and and get them first like it me playing call of duty is is kind of
tragic i'll say me playing call of duty with these in is like i can't even believe i'm the same
player right it's it's literally like a gasp moment of me to myself.
So I can't even imagine someone who's actually good and knows the audio cues and stuff like that.
And that's across the board.
That doesn't have to be a competitive experience.
That can be a cinematic open world game as well.
Playing even Minecraft all the way to the Harry Potter game or Zelda.
There are games that have
such great soundtracks um and also just great environmental sounds and that can be really
really fun um not even really fun just like it puts you more in the game because the game's
already done so much work to be fun um yeah upping that that experience And then of course, moving into VR, when I played Horizon with the VR,
the PSVR headset, and I was using the hand trigger things too, and I put our GTs in to test it.
Literally, I was like, huge grin on my face. I'm not a big VR gamer. But this was just an
unbelievable, like experience I'd never had before because of the audio.
I'm tapping my fingers on the boat.
It was just such a moment.
I was like, this is so cool.
So it really does elevate the experience.
And then also, like I said, it can be actually competitively advantageous.
Now, the main thing I want to focus on here is these are earbuds for gaming.
There are not a whole lot of gaming earbuds out there.
We're kind of, I won't say the only. Of there are you know steel series has theirs razer is theirs whatever
um i've tried them all i i implore you to try them all uh and let me know which uh you prefer but
you know we've built these specifically for gaming they're not uh and for spatial sound right and so
that's you're gonna you're gonna hear
a difference and and that's up to you to experience right that's not me telling you but the world of
gaming is going mobile in a large way right the console wars are kind of over i don't think there's
going to be another xbox from from what i hear um but the handheld the steam decks the the playstations uh handheld i mean the switch
2 look how big that's been um and then even just iphone and android right mobile gaming
is massive you don't want to be out on the train gaming with your huge bulky over your gaming
earbuds that would look ridiculous and most bluetooth headphones or earbuds are not set up to work with a gaming experience, mostly for the latency reasons, but also a few other just specific features.
So that's really something that if you want to experience, the best time to game is now, I guess, right?
Like if you can't game now in a great way, you're not going to have a good experience or you're just not going to be
gaming. Right. So if you're out and about, um,
earbuds are essential and, uh, you know, there's,
there's not many, uh, options right now. That's all I'm saying. So yeah,
as the, as the gaming industry is changing, um,
it's time for audio to change and, uh, yeah, it's, it's,
it's just something you got to experience. I could
talk all day about it. But yeah, gotta leave it to you and your ears.
Indeed. And you know, to add on one more thing to what Devin said,
so I got a few female streamer friends. And based on what they tell me, they actually
highly dislike the Steel series. I don't know if it's like a
cosmetic thing or perhaps it doesn't look cute on camera i i have no idea all right but obviously i
don't care about that but yeah they got a great brand they do stuff with like i i know i'm in no
way knocking steel series right they they are um definitely doing doing something that some people appreciate.
So that's absolutely great for them.
Yeah, no, I think for myself, for most of the guys out there,
we don't mind big, clunky nuclear reactor kind of headphones, right?
It's part of the setup.
But for certain female streamers, they definitely find it a little bit clunky.
It doesn't look as aesthetically pleasing
with the kind of vibe that they're going for, right?
So I think, yeah, female streamers
will definitely be interested in stuff like this as well,
but it's not niche enough
that it's only for female streamers,
whether you're going to the gym,
like you were saying, right, Devin,
whether you're commuting,
whether you're playing a game,
or whether, let's be real,
whether you're on the toilet
and you still want that full-blown ultra, ultra audience.
Yeah, I would say in an IMAX theater.
You can get there.
Yeah, but on my toilet.
Exactly, exactly.
So it's, you're spot on, right?
It's the freedom.
And also, like you just said, I don't want to, I'm going to the gym also and I'm not
wearing these there.
Okay, great.
Now I have to go buy some other earbuds.
I've just spent how much money getting gaming headset
and another headset, like the accessibility
or the versatility of a good gaming earbud
that is also made for like to just to be good at audio
to begin with, like, okay, it's basically just
a universal headset or a universal earbud that also has some extra features, right? That's what we set out to with, like, okay, it's basically just a universal headset or a universal earbud
that also has some extra features, right? That's what we set out to be is like, let's not silo
this, right? But of course, we're going to market it specifically to gamers because of some of the
extra features that we put in there. And why? And we believe, you know, a lot of people on the team
are gamers. We believe that this is hands down the best gaming experience, right? Even considering over years.
So, of course, we're going to also, you know, make it more gamer friendly because of who we are.
Hey, man, you got to respect that confidence.
You got to respect that confidence.
Not that many project teams have it.
I'll say, man, not that many project teams have it.
So I dig that.
I dig that, Devin.
But one last thing before we kind of go into the closing remarks here. I know we kind of briefly mentioned
this about the previously NFT collections and kind of hinting at deepened utility going towards
the future. But right now, with regards to SanWare and the holders that are still holding the NFTs,
are these connected in any kind of meaningful way
that we should be a little bit more aware of?
So it would take me maybe an hour
to talk about all the little ways they have been.
And to answer your question, yes.
You got to dig into the game of it a bit
that we've been kind of building here.
I know that's a terrible answer for a newcomer.
Like, oh, great.
That's the last thing I want to do.
But the answer going forward is, you know, we clearly have a product that, like you said,
is just kind of a no-brainer.
People buy these things.
They don't know anything about anything else.
I know how to work earbuds.
So if you buy these earbuds, you get our app and you want to experience that, of course,
there's this major Web3 component of it.
And of course, we realize too, not everyone wants to sign up, create a wallet, do the
whole Web3 thing.
So we understand that account abstraction is the way forward, right?
And we have to make this, I mean, there's so many projects out there that have done this very well.
I mean, Off the Grid is a great example of a game that had a major sign-up, right, to their game.
And every sign-up had their own wallet. access to it and could collect in the space and could use the payment rails,
the blockchain ecosystem that had been built by the developers.
So of course, we're going to head towards the same thing.
That's great for the people who are in Web3 who can arbitrage
that information advantage that they would have um and maybe do some better collecting of accessories for
their avatars and um but and also use their summer earbuds in a maybe more competitive way let's just
say without again spoiling or taking this down another tangent but uh yes to answer your question
yes there is a connection.
It's nuanced.
And then there's also a way here down the road that it will be very clear to newcomers.
We love to hear that.
So definitely connected to the NFT collection here
and more things to come into the future.
And before we actually head into the raffle poll
that we were about to snowball into in just a second here, and then we go into closing remarks, totally forgot about that.
And it's that, is the company, is Sand Sound planning on taking this and kind of also bring this to Web 2?
Or is this going to be a strictly Web 3 and consumer only kind of accessory?
Yeah, no, exactly. Totally Web 2 audience, right? web three and consumer only kind of uh yeah no exactly um totally totally web two like uh audience
right but the idea of onboarding them in a way that's like not offensive not in their face not
you know they don't have to do anything right that's that's the goal and by the end of it we're
we're not web two we're not web three we're we're obviously somewhere in the middle but we're also our own thing uh right we're web san um san meaning three right in japanese so
web 5 web 6 web 53 web 333 um we're we're doing our own thing and of course uh yeah it's going to
be hybrid but it's open to everyone that's not just to say it's a Web3 product. Of course, again, if you're in the Web3 ecosystem,
you have an inherent knowledge arbitrage
that could be good for you
because you know how the technology works.
That's going to be for anything, right?
If you know how something works better than other people.
But you're also, along the way,
I think going to have a lot more fun with us
because of just how we do our prototyping, how we do certain aspects of this that are a little more, yeah, Discord or Twitter focused as we build.
So the journey is the fun part, right?
Yeah, and I dare I even add, I think the fun part is when you start taking things that
you use in your daily lives, such as your phone, such as your headphones, such as, I
don't know, your mic, and really gamifying that.
And that now using these apps and using these kind of like technology and tools, it gives
you a reason to kind of hop back into the Discord, right?
Like, are you guys using the same thing?
Oh, did you guys notice this feature?
By the way, using this and that are you guys using the same thing? Oh, did you guys notice this feature?
By the way, using this and that,
maybe this will unlock this over time.
It's stuff like this that gets community excited.
I have goosebumps on my arms right now just kind of thinking about that.
So I can only imagine what it's like owning the actual thing.
But speaking of owning the actual thing,
ladies and gentlemen,
we are now at the point of the space
where we are going to be picking the winner for that giveaway.
So that being said, Devin, man, would you like to do the honors?
Shall we go through the comment section?
Yep, I'm doing that as we speak, putting them into our good friend, lovely companion,
ChatGPT, and I'm going to have ChatGPT pick a random person from our question goers.
Can you ask some of the questions that have been asked while I do this?
Yeah, actually, I have the comments pulled up right now.
And I was just thinking, like, wow, now ChatGPT can do that?
Whatever happened to Twitter picker?
Yeah, right, right, exactly.
No, I'm like, I could just put in everyone's name
and say hey pick a random one like that's so easy this is why am i yeah uh the ai man it gets
everyone ai is here as you're revolutionizing everything including picking winners for twitter
spaces um but yeah bro uh i will go through a couple of um a couple of the comments and then maybe like uh
in one minute uh you can go on and announce sweet that'd be that'd be perfect yeah yeah sure let's
go let's go through some of these so we got kg in the comment section saying excited to see son
sound continue to integrate into gaming what should uh undead blocks do next with them remember
these yeah blocks i remember that from 2023 as well. Holy,
we did a, we did a collab at rare Evo in Denver with, uh, with undead blocks. There's a test type
unit. Uh, so it's the blue one. I think it's actually in the photo that, yeah, here, I'll
post this to the top. Um, this was one of our test type units and we we threw some undead blocks text on the back and these were
the giveaways for anyone who could win um uh the the uh the contest they had for for um the tournament
at rare evo uh really really cool these are some rare test type versions uh that not a lot of people
even maybe know exist let's go We got a couple of more.
We have some comments
and we actually have
a string of questions.
So let's actually talk about this.
So first off,
the comments from Sir Ruggles
sound inside your head.
It's real.
It's damn real.
GT's for life.
And then of course,
we got Botek in the building.
Shout out to Botek.
All things come in threes.
All good things come in threes. All good things come in
threes. So number one, what setup are you using to talk and listen to us today in the space? Is
this to me or is this to Devin? Number two, what inspired the development of hyper reality audio
technology and how does it achieve such precise holographic spatial sound and gaming earbuds?
I think that's, I think we should probably address this question before we go on to pick
any winner.
So as, as we, you're onto something in Botox, I, I hesitate to, cause you just somehow know
Um, Botox is easily our, our biggest detective.
Him, he, and, uh, probably Kyle, maybe quantum tech, uh, yeah.
And untamed peppers. I think the four of them and
then if uh trules is in this space the five of those guys are like major discord sleuths who
can figure out things that i don't know how they found it out we must have a rat on the team i think
i'll have to go figure who that figure out who that is but um you're asking something about
something that we um are maybe debuting here in a bit, and that has to do with the holographic audio.
The hyperreality audio is generally what we call the audio experience you get, right?
The spatial, outside the head, even though these things are in your head.
And that is, the way that happens is it's really the architecture of our sound engines
um so these are the drivers right that are that are in the earbud that make the sound
um this is a special combination of like taste so to speak like uh uh just knowing what kind of
sounds good and that's 20 years of DL and his work building great audio.
And then also knowing like a Michelin star chef would prepare a dish.
I know that the chef knows exactly where the ingredients come from.
They know where the source the best.
They know what they like.
They know how it all comes together too.
You go on Chopped, everyone has the same ingredients,
but they put it together differently, right? and someone wins because it's better right they know they have a better mastery
over how uh the things fuse together so a lot of it is an art uh at the end of the day um so it's
not just some like we have a technology or a chip or whatever that does this better it's it's more of
an understanding uh that's uh that took a lot of time
to get to. But of course there is material that we use, a lot of other beryllium carbon
nanotubes like graphene and a whole lot of other things in our design that allows it much higher tolerance. Um, so it can, uh, push sound, uh, faster, uh, and, and also hold up to
that, um, power, so to speak. Well, exactly speaking. So it doesn't tear itself apart.
So there's more durability there. And then also when you really, when you turn volume up, uh,
up on a lot of headphones, it gets distorted, right?
on a lot of headphones, it gets distorted, right. And it sounds a little muddy and gross.
And it sounds a little muddy and gross.
You could turn them all the way up
and it'll be just as clear as if it's at medium volume.
So the lack of distortion is also something
that has to do with material
and how it's architected in general.
So this is a very long way of saying
like it's just the magic of the drivers
and a lot of
tuning fine-tuning that's going into this that makes that sound you know
whenever anyone says that somebody is a detective in a community here in web 3
they automatically get a plus 50 followers so yeah I don't know that just
happened right now Botox but he's doing something right but that being said
Devin did you pick the winner for today's gift so I've got them all here should I hit the button to have
chat GPT pick the winner should I do it do it yeah let's do this three two one
drumroll please it says and the winner is any any guesses? Any guesses? Fresh Linky's. Fresh Linky's. Congratulations.
I think Fresh Linky's is... Fresh Linky's? Let me see. Let's see. Yep, right there. I see him in the audience. Don't worry.
Okay, perfect. Perfect. I can't see the name. But yeah, maybe we can post it. We can tag the winning account.
And how are they going to get in contact with the team
to get their rewards uh devon uh i have already dm'd you fresh linkies um i'll i'll message you
again right after this space uh with that same uh chat that we open we already have a chat going uh
i definitely know who you are and uh yeah just if you haven't already, send me your best shipping address and an email, please.
And we'll get that out to you post-haste.
So congratulations.
And for anyone else in the space, again, we're going to be doing a lot more of these spaces more regularly.
All you got to do is show up to them.
There may be a little nuance to the giveaway, but these are going to be pretty free in terms of how easy it will be to win these things.
All you got to do is show up, participate a little bit, and hopefully we can actually have you guys up on the stage for some of these and have more of a conversation with you.
This is just more of a one-to-one deep dive, but yeah, going forward, looking forward to having everyone be a part of it.
And maybe even more and more a part of it for those of you who are in the discord so uh you know hint hint wink wink
i feel like we just uh we're dropping too much alpha here in one show debon
you know you gotta have one of these spaces i'm notoriously very uh uh reserved when it comes to
dropping alpha so you know i don't think we've said anything too out there either
in terms of leak, but I will say these next two, three months,
you might want to have your notifications on for Discord
if you like to help companies innovate on their technology.
And that's all you'll get from me.
That's right, guys.
So we deciphered from this as something is happening in Discord and somebody has Devin at gunpoint right now.
He's not allowed to talk about it.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
You guys definitely want to be paying attention there.
But once again, Fresh Linkies, congratulations on winning the year.
Congratulations on winning the year.
But today, man, thank you so much for tuning into the show.
But today, man, thank you so much for tuning into the show.
And next time or sometime in the future, rather, I do want to have another conversation with my man Devin right here.
Talk about the game that's going on.
Talk about the mobile app and how all of this ties things back to the Sun Sound ecosystem.
But to wrap things up, Devin, man, talk to us.
Talk us through your closing thoughts for today's space.
And of course, what are some of the most important project updates coming in the near future that our audience members need to be paying more attention to?
Yeah, first and foremost, Ice, thank you so much.
Your buttery, silky, smooth voice is awesome in my eardrums.
I appreciate every single second you've been speaking.
And thanks for, yeah, I'm really excited to be doing uh more with you with
your team and uh yeah guys it's going to be a fun next few months we have more of these spaces
planned we're going to be uh definitely a lot more active uh on on twitter but also just in general
uh we've built a great team here who uh have definitely have their hands full but are up to
the challenge of, you know,
kind of going balls to the wall
when it comes to scaling up what we built as a foundation.
Again, I say we, I mean a lot of people here in this audience,
you know, KG, Botox, Kyle, Stormy, That's OneSG,
Pacheco, Quantum Tech, Slick, Fresh Linky,
Zuntane Peppers, Hanzo San,
and I'm sure there's more down there too.
You know, we've really worked hard on this for the past three years.
We've gotten to a good point with what we think, you know, we have market viability,
let's call it.
And we're going to go, like I said, balls to the wall here.
So next few months is when it all kind of comes out.
Got some fresh new technology, Got some fresh new partnerships.
Got some fresh new content.
Got some fresh new kicks.
I just bought some today.
I'm wearing them around because that's how excited I am.
I'm going to go run around the block after this.
I'm so hype.
But, yeah, I'm really happy for you guys to be part of it with us, too.
Like I said, it might behoove you, if you want to be a part of everything we're doing,
to definitely show up at PAX West if you're in Seattle area.
But also just generally be on Twitter with us, be in Discord with us.
And you're going to get to be a part of something very, very special.
So thank you all.
Thank you so much for this, brother. And that being said,
ladies and gents, this will mark the end of our show for today. Devin, Siruglas, thank you guys
so much for taking the time today and really just showcasing what you've been building over the past
couple of years. And I will say it's, it really is a breath of fresh air. And there's something so
warm and bubbly inside. When you finally get to speak with the team representatives for NFTs that
you traded for over two, three years ago. I've never had this experience in my life, and it's
absolutely wonderful. So thank you for doing this. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to be here
with you guys. It's been an absolute pleasure. And of course, thank you folks in the audience
for tuning in and dropping all those likes, comments, questions, and just really helping
us out here with the exposure. We really do appreciate all the love and support.
And one last time, make sure you guys are following the Son Soundhouse account.
And remember to turn on those notifications so you guys don't miss out on any of the latest
But until then, this is going to be Ice and Devin signing off, and we'll see you guys
in the next one.
Thank you, everyone. Thank you.
