Hello! Thanks so much for this opportunity.
I am Paula Jones, founder of Blind Chihuahua. I have a long history in high level global music production/engineering, working with Elton John, Stevie Nicks, INXS, Midnight Oil, Jimmy Barnes, Rob Zombie etc.
I began Blind Chihuahua as a live streaming service with a purpose built mobile studio and 6 camera crew, and during covid realised there was a more immersive way to bring audiences from home into live shows. So I recruited a team of game devs by partnering with SAE, and built Blind Chihuahua virtual in Unreal Engine, partnering with Ready Player Me very early on (we are one of their first 20 partners). Our goal was to bring audiences into livestreamed shows in the most fun and immersive way possible, and to build a very high quality, super engaging and high definition audio experience.
During the dev of that project, which we decided to distribute by Pixel Streaming to a browser, we discovered that high def audio is not intuitively incorporated into the Pixel Streaming stack. This is fine if you're doing ArchViz, but not so much if you're streaming multi platinum artists who need to sound amazing. In fact, we've discovered that high quality audio is not paramount in many metaverse type projects, and that bad audio is inherent in web streaming using WebRTC as a protocol.
So our aim here is two fold, one to build an interface that launches our Unreal Build with great audio in and out, that incorporates low latency high resolution streaming, that is connected to the blockchain, and that makes very efficient use of the user's internet bandwidth. Ultimately we would like to build a feature into the app that also detects the user's hardware and can give the option of downloading so we can free up the cloud GPU usage and bring down the overall cost of streaming super hi res graphics, while connecting all users multiplayer through the app's network. To make it even more cost effective, we would include a spectator mode for users that don't want to actively participate in the scene but will watch it as a video with interactive chat. The ultimate use case would be as a front end for interoperability as an open metaverse platform, we are heavily across what people in that space like Ryan Gill are doing with the Emergence SDK etc, and would love to be involved in evolving that as a concept.
We have been actively chatting with Dolby about solving the audio problem, I was engaged to talk to their team about my career and in doing so we discovered that they are well aware of this audio issue in web streaming and are keen to have a company with our perspective (creating content) to work with on solving it.
Our second goal is to build out our metaverse/live music app around a game, that involves late night characters such as ninja falafels and zombie pets, that weaves a narrative around the music events, that encourages people to come back, that populates our environment with people so we don't have a boring, lonely experience for our users. We have partnered with Emoshape to bring our NPC's to life as sentient characters, and have a host of interesting reactive fun stuff going on to keep our community entertained. We are developing ways to integrate with real world festivals and live events that is not currently being tested in the marketplace. We have done extensive potential customer research and validation of the concept.
In addition, we've just built a web3 battleship game for an NFT community called Pirate Nodes, which launched with few issues after we built it in 5 weeks, a fully animated Unity WebGL build. I'll include a video below. We are fully open to developing more web3 games for clients, some which are now in early development and which haven't picked a token platform yet, so either way we are keen to start building on Immutable.
A token protocol is central to the commerce aspect of our live music/zombie pet game, in game transactions for digital wearables, meet and greet with artists, potential partnerships for real life use of NFT's at concerts, we are incorporating an arcade and several mini games which would be great for partnerships with other projects and for our community to use tokes in. Because our experience is music based and reaches a wide sector of fan bases, we would be hybrid in our approach, using both tokens and fiat.
