Project Summary This project aims to build 6 new classroom blocks in our school in the Oji-River area of Enugu State, Nigeria. Helpers Foundation nursery and primary school is a school established to offer free education to underprivileged children. 18.5 million children are out of school in Nigeria and 10.5 million are girls. Building the classroom blocks will help us to enrol more pupils in school. Challenge This is a massive challenge as those kids drop out of school at a young age, making them vulnerable to abuse and forced labour. The fact that one-third of public schools in Nigeria are either dilapidated or poverty is one of the major challenges which causes school children out of school. The Solution The key point that can potentially solve the issue is to make education accessible to more out-of-school children is Building classrooms and providing basic school supplies to them. Long-Term Impact This project will save thousands of kids from the horrible consequences of leaving school at a young age, but it will also allow them to be future engineers and doctors who will give back to their community.
