another edition of 10KTF Teaching Tuesdays
appreciate you Lennard stopping in
Raylene's here
10KTF Teaching Tuesdays
Joker's here. 10KTFTG Tuesdays. Joker's here. Yeah, it's
spring. It's the middle of April. I just had my birthday yesterday. The sun is out. It's
still out. It hasn't even set yet. Let me go ahead and pause that. Let me throw on my
headset. How are you guys guys doing how's the energy today
on scale of one to ten where are we at feel free to put it in the bottom right hand corner
or if you want to come up on stage we're happy to have you talking and discussing
let me go ahead and turn this on real quick
all right hopefully you guys can still hear me let me test this out Let me go ahead and turn this on real quick.
All right. Hopefully you guys can still hear me.
Let me test this out.
It's working great.
All right.
Well, we do have a PoApp today.
So for anybody that collects PoApps,
it's the third one for April.
If you don't know what a PoApp is, go to your app store on your phone,
Google PoApp, and download or search PoApp, and then download the app, PoApp Home. Then
you connect your wallet to that and you can mint these PoApps, which are digital collectibles,
proof of attendance. And so I haven't fully decided what
I'm going to do with all these PoApps yet but I'm getting repetitions I'm getting the
lay of the land I'm pretty impressed by it I have been reached out to by one of the PoApp team
members about setting up a meeting so I can give some insight and some feedback and different things about what they're doing. So yeah, I'm really liking the PoApps and I think it's a great tool
for onboarding people into blockchain, crypto, Web3 and I think it's an easy touch point. It's
not too complicated, it's not too difficult and i think it's uh the barrier to
entry is really soft if you will so yeah we'll have a pull up here in a little bit um and it is
on the chain for the ape chain supporters but uh yeah we do have a special guest um Rachel Rachel Rose Rachel on chain will be here shortly uh she is a really
good friend known for a few years now very nice very positive has very authentic personality uh
has a great ground game very strong like I just seen the growth that she's had on the timeline over the past year and a half just huge huge growth from video to different different
roles she's took on and just overall good person and so you know we need more
people like that in the space I feel like so yeah I'm happy that we got a
chance to to have her be the guest so So she's going to be popping on here in a little bit.
Go ahead and send the invite to the people here.
Let me see how many people.
I'm going to spam the inbox.
Let me see how many people I can get.
Okay, okay.
All right.
Okay, so rallying the troops. But yeah, April 15th, we're here, and it's never a dull moment
I've had a little bit of a busy week the past week myself, but I still have managed to bookmark
some stories, some articles, some happenings here here and definitely want to share and
talk and discuss let me go ahead and invite one more person got I forgot to
invite Eric we got in by Eric right Joker let's see I don't know if he's on
the clock right now what also in other news was able to go to an in real life event here in San Diego thanks to the Stand
with Crypto group and so that was organized by Miss Nifty and V Dizzle San Diego NFT friends
also helped contribute Valerie aka V Dizzle did the photography she had a really cool gift for
Rizal did the photography. She had a really cool gift for one of the prizes. It was a scavenger hunt, actually.
So it was a scavenger hunt that took place in Little Italy here in San Diego, and it was a good group of people.
And so we had some familiar faces. Some people flew in from out of town.
Baron from the Yuga team was here as well.
So it was a good get together.
And there was some food at the end.
And so it was an overall good experience,
I feel like, for bringing the people together,
bringing awareness to Stand With Crypto,
which is an advocacy group that also helps shape policy
and helps give some input to shaping some
of the some of the stuff that's happening in government with safeguards and policy and
procedure but really just awareness right now and so yeah really really good to experience that
maybe we'll bring up some pictures from that later because there was a whole chunk of them.
And so that was on Saturday.
I got some running in on Sunday.
I got a workout in Monday morning.
It was my birthday.
I worked my birthday.
And I just was, it was a really good day.
I didn't really go out at night.
I just was pretty tired because I had to get up early the next morning today.
And so decided to stay in. But yeah, overall positive day. Talked to a lot of old friends, teachers that I needed to talk to for some projects I'm working on.
But at the same time, was able to just catch up with some of them that I haven't talked to for a while.
just catch up with some of them that I haven't talked to for a while and I've known for a few
years and so it was really cool to do that and then today I was able to get another run in
just did a little three mile around the bay here in San Diego and so just feeling very humbled and
very grateful for just this nice weather and just having a lot of support from different people.
I had a lot of people tell me happy birthday yesterday that I didn't expect to.
They reached out on Facebook, in real life at work, plenty of support on Twitter, on X.
So just an overall great, great day yesterday, I'd say.
And today was just pretty productive, although I don't particularly
like getting up early to be at a meeting at 830 with a bunch of other people. Thank goodness I
wasn't leading. I just had to show up to be a part of my team. It's definitely good for optics and,
you know, standing together. So yeah, I definitely showed up for that and a little more tired just
because, you know, my schedule is a little off with the
sleeping and getting up early and blah blah blah so but you guys aren't here for that you're not
here to hear about me uh you're here to hear about web3 nft crypto uh we have our guest Rachel Rachel
are you here can you hear me I am here yep Keegan and absolutely loving the vibes today. Loving you just showing up with positivity as always.
And thank you guys for your patience. I had a lot of work to wrap up over here, including a special announcement.
Some major alpha that I wanted to share on this space. So, yeah, I was getting some cool things prepared.
OK, yeah. And I want to say also, i am so happy that i got to see you both
keegan and valerie um you guys seriously hold it down in the san diego socal area um it is a big
reason why you guys know this i'm actually relocating back to the socal area i really
miss the community down there i miss the weather um i've been in the Bay Area here building community. You know, Valerie knows I moved up here to help, you know, proliferate the message of our industry at the government and municipal level for the city of Berkeley.
So moved up here, you know, did a lot of really great work.
And I'm ready to head back down and kick it with you guys in San Diego more.
So very excited.
And seeing you guys in San Diego more. So, very excited. And seeing you guys
Seeing you guys made me so happy.
And I can't wait to do more events with y'all.
You know, I just
again, I'm very humbled this week.
I feel like I just
I feel lucky to be where I'm at and just
know some of the people that I know. And
you're one of those individuals where
you're authentic.
And I don't know if you guys could tell.
Rachel, she's a smart cookie here.
She knows what's up.
She knows what's up.
Those kids from Berkeley up there, they know their stuff.
But no, I'm being honest, though.
Rachel is a really nice person and really knows a thing or two about a thing or two.
And I can't wait until we get to learn a little bit more about some things that you're currently working on and just know, get a little bit more of a history, how you came into the space and what brought you here.
And but I'm going to start out with the Web3 happenings, if that's all right, or unless you're on a real time crunch right now.
I was muted. I was getting some more folks to jump in in the background if you want to kick off with updates i'm gonna see if i can get my my decent uh people my decent team in here uh so
why don't you kick off with the updates i listen i i have like a lot of alpha a lot of a lot of
cool things to share so uh yeah i'm gonna pace myself here and not
get up really excited to share everything at once but we got bobby oh my god
yeah we have we have some good friends in here so what's up bobby i had to had to go into soundboard
mode oh my god and we have toro i was just on toro space earlier all right you guys i'm gonna i'm
gonna pause here before i get uh continue to uh excitement. I'm going to let Keegan go. All right. Well, thank you, Rachel, for spending some time tonight. And yeah, I'm sure she'll get some some positive energy from you, which I always appreciate about that about seeing you. And so, yeah, let's let's jump into 3 uh nft happenings here for the past week uh i'm just
gonna start off with uh the last kind of post that i saw for my last bookmark prior to starting the
space or after work and it's a little it's a little interesting on the timing and i'm just
i'm thinking and wondering if this has anything to do with other announcements that were happening
today i'm gonna go ahead and pin it up but this comes out of the pudgy penguin camp and so it says introducing the official pengu
validator in collaboration with soul strategies staking with the pengu validator will give you
top competitive apy 7 to 11 percent on your soul while helping the institutional adoption of pengu
institutional adoption of pengu stake below so i'm gonna give him a round of applause on that
however i cannot help but wonder if this has anything to do with the fact that ape staking
was also going on today i mean i don't know if it's a good or bad thing i'm just saying like
i don't know if there was some rules that came out that, like, now is the first day when you can do certain things in that realm.
Or if it's just trying to be strategic.
And so, yeah, I definitely know Ape Chain had migrated their staking that happened today.
I saw that all over the timeline.
And so, yeah, this is one of the things I saw latest. And, you know,
I think it's overall good that there's still innovation happening. It's bringing awareness
to the brand. And so I'd say it's a good thing overall. And for anybody that's been spending
time in this space, I think we know that Pudgy Penguins is definitely movers and shakers. And
they close loops and they fall through and yeah.
Okay, what else we got here?
There was a lot actually.
The past few days I feel like things just started kicking up.
Pin this up above.
So this was coming out of the AVAX camp.
I didn't even know.
This came out of nowhere for me.
So I just pinned up the little short video from Ashley DeCan
Where she basically demoed and demonstrated this AVAX card and now you can finally look she tweeted You can finally buy coffee with crypto now mind you
mind you I
Went very vocal the past few weeks about how amazing the MetaMask card is and so I'm a very big proponent of that
I've really enjoyed using
that card. I unfortunately do not have the physical card. I know our good friend Creatress
was able to get her hands on it. I do have the digital card. And so, you know, this again, I feel
like just goes back to what we've kind of been talking about for weeks on end here that this is going to be become the new norm in my opinion
the usdc is going to become much more normalized and these are some of those steps in that
direction all of a sudden now we have a avex card we have had the metamask card which debuted in
denver like i'm going to be surprised if there's another one that's coming out soon in another week
or two because at some point here it's like, some of the companies are going to have to have competition.
And so we're going to start to see that. I feel like that's what's happening.
And it's coming on kind of subtly, unless it's subtly. I don't even know if that's the word subtly.
It's coming on very subtle, but unless you're paying attention, you may not connect the dots. Right.
And so this is something I'm kind of like curious to see how
this plays out how many more cards we start to see uh and so I think it's going to be something
to keep an eye on uh did you see that announcement at all Rachel no I'm not sure I did uh do we do
we got it pinned in the jumbotron uh the mini mainframe I have a video I only have the one
that Ashley pinned up I saw like, like, two other ones.
I just was working so much the past few days,
I haven't had a chance to bookmark all of them.
But, yeah, I'm sure if we click on the AVAX link, it'll...
And I personally don't really use AVAX or Avalanche that much.
Yeah, I feel like, for me, I have been building a lot on base,
and I feel like maybe I should expose myself to more things happening on other chains.
But yeah, that looks really cool.
Looking for links now.
Yeah, unfortunately, I didn't bookmark the other ones.
But I did see like two other ones in passing.
So I wanted to make sure I pin that up.
Another thing that I think is worth kind of mentioning here too, and let me go ahead and pin this up, is that I saw last week
and I have not participated. Again, I'm just sharing for awareness and I support all of the
chains. I don't discriminate. I give support wherever there's support. I don't have
bias, but let's say I am very supportive of chains that are innovating and trying different things.
I definitely like to see that. And so this was something I saw last week. And this is an
application though. So this is called Arena. And I did not sign up for it it's free to sign up though uh but it's very similar
to everything that abstract is doing with streaming built in and having crypto rails to tip
like in usdc and pengu and so i believe you can tip in like bitcoin i believe i again if somebody
else has actually participated and used it like please feel free to give your two cents in the
bottom right hand corner or if you want to come, more than happy to have you come up on stage.
But again, this is, again, something that I feel like is also going to become normalized.
I also shared last week that ApeChain is going to be having a streaming integration very
So, Abstract, this Arena app, now ApeChain, like, these are things that are going to become the norm
and i think we're seeing it in real time so round of applause for both of those last two
any thoughts or two cents on uh on the arena app uh rachel no just uh loving the updates here i'm
checking everything out now and going through
the pinned announcements on the Jumbotron and showing some love. Yeah. Yeah. So definitely
a lot of stuff that's happening. Another good update here too. Definitely something to take
note of. Let me pin this up above. And I saw that this came from out of the magic
Eden camp I saw this tweet Eric really tweeted it but I saw a number of people
tweet it she was also a guest I think last year so magic Eden acquires
slingshot crypto slingshot will also support runes in upcoming weeks so again round of applause on this you know when a company acquires another company
i sometimes wonder well is it fully because of the tech stack is it because of what they built out
is it because of the employees is it because of the team that they have is it the leadership like
you never fully know and maybe it's both, right?
But again, I think this is something that is just,
we're seeing where these companies are positioning themselves
and they're getting themselves ready for whatever the next wave is going to be.
And so, yeah, let me go ahead and pin this up.
This is the other one coming straight from Magic Eden.
It says, we just acquired Slingshot Crypto, 8 million tokens, every chain, Bitcoin soon.
No bridges, no central exchanges.
This is another major step towards our vision of providing the best platform to trade all assets on all chains.
And so there you have it.
So movers and shakers here.
and shakers here any thoughts on that rachel yeah well i i just want to say uh keegan i love how
Any thoughts on that, Rachel?
tapped in you are with uh just current events and news across the blockchain ecosystem um and yeah
just really admire your hosting abilities here and uh yeah i've followed magic eden for a while
i mean they've worked with several projects i know, like Own the Doge and some others.
So yeah, I've heard only good things and yeah, exciting to see that they acquired Slingshot.
All right.
Yeah, so definitely keep an eye on that.
I think a number of us have already been introduced to the Magic Eden ecosystem.
I know some of us have already participated
on multiple levels. So yeah. Next piece of updates. This is from six days ago. This is
reported from the BoardApe Gazette. So I do have questions and curiosity here on this.
So it says, Ready, Set, Ape ape racing game mint is tomorrow so mind you this
was from six days ago so it's already come and gone uh but i can't help i can't help but wonder
if this is something in the realm of streets of new tokyo for those of us that have been
following everything with think atf uh and so i pinned up a secondary tweet as well from the company that's helping produce this
game called introverse says you thought it was just a race formula ape is a freaking show not
just racers on the grid the whole jungle pulled up to cheer are you in the crowd and so basically
it's like a mario kart game and so i don't know uh if this is the route that they ended up going with as far as racing goes in the Ape Chain.
I don't have any alpha or any insider information about what's going on with Streets of New Tokyo.
But I couldn't help but wonder, and for those of you that have participated or have seen this,
I'm sure you've connected
some dots on your own if you followed both projects, but you basically will compete against
other projects and you can upgrade your cart. I know a lot of the apes are able to use their 3D
models within the game as well. I mean, it's cool. Like I think it's a great idea and a great
experience for bringing people together and competing.
And so I'm going to give them a round of applause.
Full disclosure, I did not mint any of the go-karts or anything in the project.
I'm just watching from the sidelines.
I'm just sharing for awareness.
But I can't help but wonder again, I question marks about i wonder if this is uh something to do with 10k tf uh suits in new tokyo or if it's just something completely separate
or if maybe they took some ideas and yeah so anyway that's that um all right what else we got here
coming out of the OpenSea camp.
So we had the head of marketing and social media or socials,
asterism on a few weeks ago from the OpenSea team.
So he was our guest.
And OpenSea is continuing to make moves.
I mean, this was the first marketplace
i was introduced to when i came into the space in april of 2021 uh it says solana token trading
is now live on openc2 for some closed beta users and will be rolling out to more in the coming
weeks this is a big milestone in our multi-chain journey solana has some of the most passionate
users and builders in web3 coins first nfts coming later most tradable now
more in a few weeks one early dropper apply with this whole address so again this is in my opinion
this is good for moving the space in the right direction more flexibility more options and
innovating uh mind you i wish some of these things were implemented a lot sooner, but I'll take it.
So, yeah, anybody have their two cents?
Feel free to give them the bottom right hand corner if you'd like to join the conversation or whatever you're thinking.
Rachel, any thoughts on those last two posts?
Well, I do think there is a lot of volume on Solana and that OpenSea making this move, I think, is a long-term strategic decision.
And I also wanted to invite, and I'm chatting with my friend in the background here, Ryan.
If Ryan wants to come up and share his thoughts, there's also some news I have, you guys, some hot news, um, that pertains
to some things that Ryan and I are working on together. So, um, that can kind of tie into a
part of my updates as well. Okay. All right. So cool. Let me give a two more quick little
updates here and then we will, we'll jump right into, um, everything that Rachel is doing
and building. Let me see, let me pull them up and thanks a guy
thanks a lot guys for everybody coming through appreciate you guys give me some time 10k tf
teaching Tuesdays we do have a poll app that will be given out here very shortly let's see
this is interesting let me pin this up above. This first was from five days ago.
CryptoPunk3100 bought for 4000 ETH.
A cool 4000 ETH, that's it.
Just 4000 ETH, which is 6,084,359.86 USD equivalent.
Let me get my digital checkbook out for the next one.
So, yeah, anyway, so that just goes to show you the market is not dead as some people
like to claim on the timeline and so yeah let me go ahead
that's another thing here real quick all right so this is coming out for anybody that's kind of an
og in the space this is from just 11 hours ago from a cyber comms which is an og project for
in my opinion og OG project from 2021.
I did not hold. I'm not part of the community. Again, I'm just training for awareness.
It says the SEC has officially closed its investigation into CyberCongs.
After years of litigation, unjust allegations, crippling legal fees, and the biggest hurdle we could possibly encounter, we are free.
This is an extremely proud moment for CyberCongs.
We are a small, passionate, and creative Web3 team that elected to fight this battle for the betterment of Web3.
We are certain this result will provide clarity to many projects innovating with blockchain technology, pushing the boundaries of Web3 gaming, and ultimately showcasing the beauty
As for CyberKong, the shackles are lifted.
We have been preparing for this day for a long time.
A full rebrand and new direction for CyberKong will be announced soon.
But in the meantime, it should be celebrated by all that our space is here to stay
a win for our industry all right so
and i would imagine and i can't really speak because i've never been in the position
but i would imagine that when you are under investigation by the SEC,
that you're probably hesitant to do a whole lot of building and taking risks and taking chance of stuff that maybe might be in the gray area of what's legal,
what's not legal, because nothing's been really built out yet in terms of guidance and policy and structure.
yet in terms of guidance and policy and structure and so you know I can't deny
that's again I'm not a holder but around for a while now and they've definitely
added value to the ecosystem in terms of building I know they had like staking
their like token that they had a long time ago very early on I remember
hearing about this so they're one of the first so it's not surprised they were
one of the first to start getting investigated. So, yeah, shout out to them.
But, yeah, thanks again, everybody, for stopping in to KTF Teaching Tuesdays.
We're going to talk with our guest, Rachel, now and kind of learn a little bit about everything that she's been doing, her journey, how she came into Web3, whatever she's comfortable sharing, and kind of what's going on on her end.
But we also have her
friend up here. Is it Ryan? Is that what you said, Rachel? Ryan, yeah. Hi, Ryan. How's it going?
Hey, GM. Thanks for having me up here. How are you doing? Good, good. Yeah. Any friend of Rachel's
is a friend of mine. So, I appreciate you guys. Well, Ryan, I truly consider one of my best friends.
It's, you know, one of those friendships where it's like quality over quantity.
We met and it was like, you know, the scene at a stepbrothers.
Like, did we just become best friends?
So, you guys, if you guys come out to my birthday party in Laguna Beach, Ryan will actually be coming out as well.
out as well. So, uh, yeah, Ryan Keegan and Valerie in the audience are actually local and, uh,
So, yeah, Ryan, Keegan and Valerie in the audience are actually local.
yeah, we're, we're going to have to get, we're going to have to get, uh, some pictures you guys,
cause we have the same exact car and we, I realized it when I saw them over the weekend.
So, uh, yeah, anyway, very, very excited for our, uh, uh, to see you guys.
Yeah. That's going to be so awesome. I'm, I'm really looking forward to it. Uh,
Rachel just invited me out. Um, I think it was yesterday, the day before.
And like, I've just been like, yeah, hell yeah.
We're manifesting it.
And there are some big things happening around that time.
But we'll put a pin in that and come back to it during our hot updates here.
But yeah, Keegan, I mean, you're asking about how I got involved in the space.
And I feel like you, Valerie, Creatress, even some other folks listening, like Spiral.
I see some folks from the Let's Touch Base community, even the Oniforce community.
You guys might have heard me on spaces, on my podcasts, on educational workshops I've done.
I have been in the space for several years since 2021.
I started educating myself and learning more about crypto, just online, watching
videos and doing my own research. And, you know, actually back in, let's see, I think it was 2021,
I heard Elon Musk talking about Dogecoin on Saturday Night Live. And I was like, all right,
I'm going to check out this thing called Dogecoin. So I don't even know if Ryan knows my origin story,
but it's pretty funny that Doge was the first thing that piqued my interest in the space. And now full circle,
I am supporting the Own the Doge team as a media advisor. So I work alongside with Ryan and the CEO,
Smoke, and they are actually the DAO that stewards the Do doge IP so they own the actual rights to doge so um I
support them through media advising and uh yeah it's pretty funny that full circle I'm now uh
coming back and supporting a a very dogely project so um yeah I guess fast forward um I started doing
a lot of grassroots meetups and I know Keegan Valerie Valerie, Creatress and others here from actually being in person and
meeting people at events. For those of you that remember, this is way like, you know, vintage,
retro, early career days, but I was working at Harmony Protocol and that all started,
that opportunity came to be because I got so fascinated by DAOs. Like DAOs were the first
thing that drew me in.
I had a friend tell me about DAOs and NFTs and I had no idea what he was talking about.
It was like he was speaking another language.
So I continued to show up and have calls
and I was invited to be a part of an educational DAO
called Bridge Builders DAO.
So getting more involved there,
I started to realize the importance of education
and the project really resonated with me because the whole mission was to prioritize education in the space.
So I showed up every single weekend, had calls, learned more and more, you know, started to absorb the language, the philosophy of DAOs and all these concepts in Web3.
three. So fast forward, I started hosting meetups in Southern California and, you know, just making
a presentation on my laptop, throwing together a meetup and going to meet with people in the
local community. And that's something I've been very passionate about since I started.
Since then, you know, I was invited to speak at East Denver and that's where I landed my first
crypto job at Harmony, did my first public speaking engagement. And from there, I went on to speak
at a lot of conferences and really refined my public speaking skills, you know, helped to
throw the Ethereum Developers Conference in Tokyo. I lived in Japan last year and have scaled two
ambassador programs. By the way, Valerie has been a part of both of those ambassador programs. And I want to give her.
Because anything I work on, you guys, Valerie is always there raising her hand, willing to get involved.
And that is the best attitude to have in this space because that is how you align yourself with opportunities and like minded people. So, yeah, I've scaled two ambassador programs, have organized, you know, events in cities around the world.
I've probably done around 80 or more events at this point. And yeah, I worked at Opolis for two years. For those of you that know Opolis, the University of Ethereum through EdCon in Tokyo,
I've been a big proponent of building in the base ecosystem for about the past year. And now I'm
full-time working at Decent Labs as head of BD.
And yeah, I would also say that one thing I prioritize in the realm of education is becoming a published author as well, where I brought more education about DAOs and Web3 into a published
book that became a bestseller, which is called Impact Entrepreneur. So yeah, I don't know. I
feel like I'll pause there, but that's the bulk of my origin story.
All right. And the interview is done. Perfect. All right, guys.
All right. Bye, everyone.
No, that's, yeah, I mean, that is quite the resume here.
And, yeah, I forgot you did the the university of
ethereum uh as well and i remember when you guys did a video for for it yeah i remember like uh
yeah i was really excited about it i mean it's it's crazy how much stuff that i feel like you've
done hearing when you you know start bullet pointing all of it i gotta remind myself sometimes
because i'll be i'll just be going through life and it's like oh yeah i did this really cool this really cool thing and uh you
know i just i i stay very active in the space i'm very passionate about it and you know when you
have fun doing the work it's just it's easy to uh to just show up and make as much of an impact as
you can and um you know now i'm an ambassador for Stand With Crypto, which led me down to hang out with you guys.
And, you know, I think it's important that we actively participate not only in our space, but for me, I've prioritized getting involved and raising your hand with your local government, you know, and just making an impact and having some sort of discourse, you know, with these decision makers at the government level.
So that's something I've tried to get into more myself.
Yeah, no, you definitely have a repertoire of skill sets and experiences.
And yeah, I got to give you props.
I mean, your ground game is very strong.
And I just like I said, I've seen the growth in this short amount of time. I mean, you went from a small amount of followers to almost 10,000 followers now in the blink of an eye.
I have to thank BASE for that.
I mean, that has been, honestly, it's been showing up in the BASE community.
I really feel like the BASE and Coinbase ecosystem, the support I've gotten and the amplification I've gotten. I'm very grateful for
that. It's also come from doing that. Like we've done hundreds of these spaces. So just doing that
over time, I feel like it's just compiled, you know? So yeah, I'm very grateful. Anyone here,
I mean, Ryan, Spiral, some folks in the audience that are in the Let's Touch Base community too.
It just uh yeah comes
from consistency showing up and building community over time have you have you always been into tech
like growing up were you into tech and always like kind of around it or did you just kind of like
that's a really good question that's a really good question so the answer is actually no i grew up and
my background's actually in art,
you guys. I studied fine arts. So shout out to Creatress. I know she hopped off. But yeah,
I studied fine arts and thought that would be the trade I did professionally. And I think the thing
that got me interested in tech was the fact that my brothers were also advanced with it.
So I have some brothers who are on the spectrum for autism.
And growing up, I always admired the fact that they were so brilliant when it came to technology,
like building computers and tinkering. And I always looked at it like, oh my God, this is something I'll never understand. I have no idea what they're doing. I don't know what they're
talking about. But then I reached a certain point in adulthood where I was like, you know,
why have I always had that belief?
Why have I had a self-limiting belief around technology?
Anyone can learn about technology.
You know, I thought because, you know, I'm a people person.
I love art.
I love creativity that I couldn't get into tech.
But I diminished or rather I basically stomped out that belief and just jumped in and, you know, started learning as much as I can. So
I broke down that barrier and defeated that self-limiting belief that, you know, oh, I can't,
I can't do this because X, Y, and Z. And I just showed up and took the time to learn and just,
you know, anything you do with repetition, you'll pick things up eventually. So
that was my philosophy. Just jump in, keep showing up and learn as much as I can.
was my philosophy just jump in keep showing up and learn as much as I can all right yeah I mean
you don't need to tell me twice I mean that's that's what my personal brand stands for you know
Ground Game Strong is showing up being present and making an impact and that's why I feel like
you you do and I've seen it so yeah it's it's it's funny how how we kind of limit ourselves sometimes, right?
Where it's like, well, we second guess ourselves.
And really, that just slows the momentum.
Whereas even if you don't, you just start.
And then as soon as you get the hang of it, you get the routine.
It just becomes part of you, an extension.
You get the repetition.
And it just becomes second nature.
I'm sure you said you just do the spaces back to back, like at
different times. And I saw you, you were on today multiple times. Even when I was out at school
sites, like this was months ago, like, I remember you were leading like a base, basis space in the
middle of the day. Like, I was like, Oh, okay, let me just hop on here and say hi real quick. And,
and one thing I which I do appreciate that you do that not everybody does, but sometimes
there are a few hosts that do it really well.
They they say hi to the people that come in and out just to like.
Acknowledge, you know, and sometimes people want to be heard or sometimes people want
to be seen.
And, you know, it's a nice little little touch.
And yeah, I definitely appreciate those little details.
And so 100 percent.
And one thing I want to say there, Keegan, is I am a big proponent.
There's a reason that I do that.
And it's because I'm a big proponent of humanizing this space more.
We are all living behind these avatars on a screen.
And I really believe in trying to transcend that and connect with people as much as possible
and actually make sure they feel seen and they feel heard and give
everyone a chance to share their voice. So I really do try to do that on my spaces. And it's
another reason why I've decided, we were just talking about this on a call the other day,
Keegan, but it's another reason I prioritize also showing up on video, right? Humanizing the space,
showing up as me. And I know that might not work for everyone philosophically there might be
reasons why someone's not comfortable and that's okay but for me I want to show hey I'm a person
and I'm showing up and being vulnerable and sharing who I am and I'm okay with that and I
I hope that that leads to more humanization and less fear in our space yeah I mean I couldn't
agree more like and that's why I started doing like like, I felt like, okay. And for me, I try to be very, like, intentional with what I do. I don't do a lot of random things. I mean, there are times when I get in that mood, but it's not too often. things out and plan out and organize uh and be disdain number of people in here already know that but um yeah i feel like just just showing up again even on video that just helps make that
that touch point much more comfortable for people to see like okay they're there like it has a
strength right and i knew like okay i should start doing that so i applied for the abstract streaming
i was able to do that and so you even said like
you saw like when we were playing games sometimes and so it's those those moments where you get able
to kind of see and just connect like okay these people are real these people are here they're
they're comfortable enough to put their face out there they're front facing which in itself holds
value in my opinion because you and you even just said it like not everybody is comfortable doing
that or not everybody wants to and some people are not docs i mean i know that your your stuff's out
there you're on linkedin i'm on like i have nothing to hide and so for me i definitely try
to push the space where i can as much as i can given my schedule given my work schedule flow
if you will because everything is everything for web 3 and nfts is all on the side as a hobby
but i do think it is too important with the tech and innovation and things to just to just let a
bunch of bad actors lead the space and i'm not saying that's what what's happening but i'm saying
we need to have good people with good intentions that are able to become louder than people that maybe have self-serving intentions at times, if that
makes sense.
So I am 100 percent.
Amen to that.
And yeah, I guess, Keegan, if I can share one of my first updates, this this kind of
pertains to that.
So I, I'm kicking off this initiative, you guys.
I have spent a significant amount of time today planning with the base team, putting together a schedule, putting together agendas. But you guys, I'm going to pin
this announcement. You're hearing it here first. I'm sharing about it here first. Let me just pin
this. All right. And I'm going to cue the... All right. So every Thursday, you guys, I am kicking
off live streams on the Build on Base account.
This is one of Base's accounts, and I'm going to be doing live streams every week called Base Network Weekly.
This will be to proliferate and feature different projects in the Base ecosystem and continue uplifting and supporting Base builders.
So I'm very excited about this.
So I'm very excited about this.
The first one's going to feature Ohara AI, and this is an AI app coining, or I'm sorry, AI app creation application that allows you to coin your application.
So I think it's really interesting, and I'm actually emceeing for Ohara at Coinbase headquarters this Saturday.
So all of this is tying in together this week very very beautifully. And I'm very excited. And yeah,
I pinned the announcement above.
No, I did see earlier today.
You did have that live stream on that account going. I was like, Oh,
she's got 2000 live stream followers on here. I was like, okay,
I could any step my game up here.
Well, that was with some of my friends I was supporting.
So that was actually Late Night on Base and Base Junkie.
So they're actually doing livestreams as well.
So, yeah, I guess we're all part of, like, you know, we're all base creators.
these creators and Ryan here has been a big proponent of supporting these
And Ryan here has been a big proponent of supporting base creators.
creators and base is now really allowing us to step up and now start hosting
things on their account.
So they're giving the content creators like myself more of a voice and really
amplifying what we're, what we're doing, you know,
cause I've been doing a let's touch base spaces for, you know,
going on a year now. So I love the name name i love the name let's touch so so much
yeah the only thing who's idea yes that was my i had the idea for a while and i finally had uh so
i went on late night on basis podcast and i at the end of it you know we just had this synergy
we were vibing and i said listen man i want to start some spaces. I want to start something called Let's Touch Base.
And that has gone from a Twitter space, and it's blossomed into a community.
So it's on Telegram.
I could also pin that so you guys can jump in and say hello.
I think some of you might already be in there here.
I love the name.
The name is catchy, and it's fun, and it sounds friendly. It's non-threatening and
it just seems great. It is what it is. We touch base with each other. We check in. We share what's
happening in the ecosystem. And another thing I prioritize with that community is obviously
keeping things respectful, but also checking in with each other on a human level. Like,
you know, something we did in the beginning was, you know, we started a fitness challenge together
and, you know, me and two other people, uh, a spiral was there. Spiral remembers this, uh,
just on chain myself and, and a few others, we challenged ourself to start a personal training
journey, which I'm still doing to this day. Um, so, you know, just cool little things like that
have, uh, come from the community
yeah i love that i love that because that's that that's the those are the ingredients right you
start to get a little more substance to get to know who's who and like what's what at different
levels right there's layers to this if you will shout out to the truth and v nizzle uh but um
yeah like and i i don't think you were in the spaces yet, but I'm a huge,
huge proponent of health and fitness. My background's in health education. Health science
is my undergraduate degree. My first teaching credential is in health science, health education.
And I was sharing earlier that, yeah, I just did three mile run around the bay here.
Because I think it's important. I did hear that part and that that's very impressive um you know maybe maybe
when i'm down there i don't know i i gotta step by fitness my my fitness ground game i gotta step up
um okay yeah i actually i mean i have a i'm working with a personal trainer in the bay area
but when i move um definitely interested in doing more you know outdoor activities and things as
well do you guys ever go hiking down there?
I feel like La Jolla has really beautiful hiking trails and a lot of areas down there.
It's just, again, it's just started to get nice these past two and a half weeks. Like,
when it gets nice and sunny and comfortable, like, there's a lot of people out. I personally haven't gone hiking for a while, and I don't think Valerie snuck in any hikes without me but um yeah definitely definitely definitely
a great investment uh into yourself and fitness and health and nutrition everything like you can't
go wrong with it like if you want the alpha i'm giving you health advice investing advice please
invest in your health and yourself uh you won't go wrong it's so so important i cannot stress that
enough in any capacity.
And so I would love to hear from Ryan, too.
Ryan, how are you doing today, friend?
So can you keep up with Rachel's energy, or is it just contagious, or what's going on over here?
I don't think anyone can keep up with Rachel's energy.
I think she's on a next level, but I try to keep up and I appreciate her including me in everything that,
I can come into everything.
She just mentioned that she's in a spaces and I just hopped in and now I'm up here speaking.
And that kind of happens throughout the week.
Most weeks,
we'll just kind of hop in each other's spaces and stuff and just support each other and like yeah it's it's it's been really a blast you know ever since i
met rachel um i think it's been like uh about a month and a half like we we met in person at
uh eath denver for the first time um and that was really great we got to hang out, had some really amazing Japanese various different dinners at a Japanese restaurant.
We had a crazy culinary like it was like Michelin, like 20,000 Michelin stars or something like they just kept coming out course after course.
It was it was like a mind-blowing culinary experience that no one was
ready for yeah it was it was uh it was absolutely wild uh i think they had like 10 different dishes
you know for for us to try and uh yeah somehow did not get full the whole time i was able to
try it all so that was nice yeah and i was just seeing your profile so you've been kind of building
on base for a quick minute it seems like too is that is that my understanding yeah so i've been
building on base since uh since about beginning of last year 2024 um previously had been working with gamestop nft uh as their community manager and education
lead so i was kind of uh in charge of onboarding all the folks who
came into gamestop nfts marketplace um that was about a two-year period in which you know i learned
so much you know about crypto and nfts and blockchain uh from matt finestone
who's now with the ethereum foundation and uh yeah since then you know ever since gamestop nft
had has been suspended we've yeah we've been figuring out how how our creators you know who
had previously invested all their time, energy, effort, creativity.
There's creative spirit into these various different projects.
How can they and their collectors and their fans move on and continue creating things
when really the blockchain that GameStop NFT had launched on was called Loopring.
It was actually the first l2 ever made the first
ever zk roll up and uh it was a little bit archaic in terms of you know it was first to market but
it was essentially like an api um it did not have evm compatibility um and that really killed all of the potential, you know, BD, like marketing
opportunities, like, you know, various different interoperability opportunities that we, you know,
may have had for NFTs and tokens that were minted on the chain that, you know, GameStop NFT was on.
you know, GameStop NFT was on. So I really attribute that to be being one of the kind of
the things that was kind of like a downfall. Like we didn't have a good cross compatibility
roadmap lined up. So, you know, once that happened, we just looked for a place that we could,
you know, call home and start establishing ourselves again,
myself and all the creators and, you know,
communities that were following me.
Just trying my best to steward and guide folks
to find a place that is going to be lasting.
And, you know, last year we were experimenting
and finding, you know, that that might be base.
We did a few launches, did a few,
helped a few creators to launch their projects
and kind of explore the various different apps
in the ecosystem and how creators can use those apps.
A lot of them were still builder focused last year,
but we're seeing a lot of creator
focused apps now. So that's really great. Yeah. Okay. Yeah.
And then one of the other things we're up to right now is we're building the base creators
directory. That's where all the creators on base
have an opportunity to create a profile
and list their portfolio and skills and recommendations.
This is all free.
It's all part of this kind of movement
or this ecosystem-wide push to make creators on base go viral
and to support creators on base go viral and to support creators on base.
So yeah, that's something that we're really proud of getting started here and kind of planning,
actually planning the launch party to be going out with the build on base channel on X here. So it will be really cool to plan that together with Rachel and Simon and the
rest of the team coming up next week when Simon is back from break.
All right.
And another thing I want to share too, Ryan,
I don't know if we want to touch on ClankerCon,
but I am going to be emceeing this digital metaverse event coming up at the end of May.
And I don't know if we want to touch on that, Ryan.
So ClankerCon is coming up very, very soon now.
We've got, you know, about a month and, you know, a few weeks left.
That's something that, you know, we're really proud to be, you know, creating together with Based Farcast and Own the Doge,
as well as a whole slew of other co-hosts and sponsors
that are getting on board.
Rachel just recently joined us as the main MC for the event.
And OnChain Media is also going to be a huge part of the event
as a media partner.
So, you know, we're really happy to have her with us at this event.
Yeah, it sounds like you guys are definitely cooking.
It sounds like you guys have got some stuff prepared in the kitchen,
and it sounds like it's about to be served.
It's in the oven.
And, I mean, Bass has been around for a quick minute now, And it sounds like it's about to be served. It's in the oven. I can't.
And I mean, base has been around for a quick minute now.
And I feel like they also have a good positioning of things, in my opinion.
And they definitely threw some awesome events in 2021 and 2022.
I'll tell you what.
VDizzle and myself went to some pretty amazing events.
Did you guys go to Idyllwild for Basecamp?
I feel like that's local.
And I don't know.
I think it's happening again this year.
That would be really fun if we all went as a group or something.
Yeah, I do remember that, actually. But the ones I was thinking of, they had a really new york activation during nft uh nyc a few
years ago a pretty big one and then also at complex con which was in long beach they had a
really cool uh lounge kind of area too that we were able to go to uh and obviously you know they
had a presence in east denver the past couple years and so it's well base is uh it's like a
little over a year old now so i feel like maybe was it coinbase
doing activations like a couple years ago uh yeah maybe i'm thinking of the coinbase activations
yeah you're right you're right that might make sense but i i have to say in the past year i i've
had really great experiences too um whenever you know base is doing events um i, you know, BASE is doing events, I also, you know, I started hosting
meetups for BASE as well. And something I love about that experience is it's just very accessible
to get involved. Like, you know, I asked like, hey, can I host a meetup and get support from
BASE? And they said, yeah. So I feel like Valerie, you, Keegan, like with your experience hosting
events, I don't think it would be a heavy lift to get base events going in san diego too okay yeah you think base has some grants they
got some funding to throw around is that what i'm hearing yeah um if you go to base.org um they
actually have a link and i'm sorry i don't know exactly where this is but if you go to the
community tab i think it actually has a portion where uh if you want to
host an event in your local community there's a form to fill out and uh yeah there's a like a
pathway to host events if you ask okay well we'll definitely have to check it out i know v does is
no stranger to throwing events uh you know she has her company as well and you know i've done a
little teaching uh you know 10 years in the classroom
and three years at the district office now
in public education for San Diego Unified,
which is the second biggest school district
in the state of California.
So I have a few reps I could probably contribute.
Well, another thing I'm thinking,
maybe like a lower hanging fruit way to go about
is I could reach out to some folks on the base team
that have supported efforts of event hosting in the past.
And, yeah, maybe we can get a conversation going about activating in San Diego.
All right. All right. We are activating.
Building in public.
Well, we'll have to touch base on that, on the SD crew.
So I definitely appreciate all that you're doing.
And everybody that's
here too I appreciate you guys giving some time take a TF teaching Tuesdays
you know what I think we might need to give the poll app out because I'm seeing
a little fire flame up in the top I usually don't have the fire going with
18 people it says join the space they are limited edition a chain poe apps so I
don't know this is the third gold star of the month um do you click do you
guys click poaps ryan rachel oh yeah um absolutely okay all right well i guess we're ready for it
then too all right so let's go ahead and just give it out here um so we'll do the secret. So the secret word for today, for the third gold star of April is Aries.
Because I'm an Aries. So Aries, all lowercase one word. Take your time. Don't worry. There
should be. I mean, there's not 40 people in here, but you never know. Those bots are always watching.
And, yeah, thanks again, everybody, for spending some time here.
I see Eric.
I see you sneaking in.
I don't know if you're still on the clock at work and you're sneaking out of the office.
RFDZ, appreciate you coming through as well.
Cinema, always appreciate you coming through.
Jesus is in here as well. Samurai,
always appreciate the support. And some new
friends, too. I see all you new friends in here.
JY2, Tia, Toro,
James. Shout out
to Spiral and JY2.
Shout out to those guys.
If they wanted to come up and say hello, I know
they're very active in the Let's Touch Bass community.
I mean, Spiral is one of our OG members in that community, you guys.
So I always like to give Spiral the floor when I can because he's just always showing up and supporting.
Yeah, and that goes for anybody, too.
If anybody wants to come up, more than happy to have you guys up here.
Or if you just want to sit back and listen like it's a's a classroom lecture feel free to give you two cents in the bottom
right hand corner uh but we're talking with rachel here uh who's had quite a journey on web 3 and
has had a lot of repetitions in different areas uh and we're meeting her new friend ryan as well
my new to me old to her uh and so what was wondering if you could kind of touch a little bit on the Descent DAO.
And also, I know you have your company, too, which we didn't really get to that either yet.
You have your on-chain media company and Descent DAO.
What do you want to start with here?
What do you want to give us?
Yeah, I guess.
Well, we could start with Des what do you want to give us yeah i guess uh well we could start with decent dow so
um i'm actually i'm leading business development for uh for decent labs and we we also have a dow
decent dow um so yeah basically what we're doing is uh this project has been around for eight years
you guys so almost a decade uh the ceo um is is really uh i i view him as like one of the OG Dow philosophers from like, I don't know,
2012, 2013.
It's been in the space for a very long time.
And Decent has been being built for almost a decade.
So it's survived multiple cycles.
The CEO, our chief architect engineering team has worked extremely hard on this.
And what it is, is it's an all-in-one
governance platform. So, you know, it helps DAOs to structure and set them up for success to,
you know, facilitate operations, governance, voting, proposals, and doing it all on chain.
So a lot of DAOs that we see nowadays are really not making decisions on chain and have a bit of
scattered operations. Like they might have conversations on Discord.
They might be chatting in a Telegram group on Discord, you know, making votes on Snapshot,
where that's not truly on-chain.
So what Decent is doing is it's bringing operations truly on-chain.
We actually are kicking off gasless voting, too.
So you're able to do proposals uh vote structure
your doubt and even process payments and uh yeah basically what we believe is setting dow's up for
success um starts with the operation layer so uh yeah i mean that was how i got my start i told you
guys like uh that was the first thing that really interested me when i was doing my learnings about
web3 um and yeah one of the first things i got involved me when I was doing my learnings about Web3.
And yeah, one of the first things I got involved with.
So full circle, coming back to Doge Lee and Dow vibe in my career.
And then, thank you.
And last thing I'll say with on-chain media, so that's my media company.
What I do is, you know, my Twitter spaces, my podcast, on-chain media.
I just create content.
I, you know, emcee at events like ClankerCon, like the one at Coinbase HQ this weekend. So basically, holistically, it's just Twitter spaces, my podcast, and doing events.
All right. Sounds like you've definitely been up in the ground game here.
And like I said, I noticed you did start doing video content.
And so I do have a question though too about DecentDAO.
So I know you said it's gasless, it's decentralized, it's on-chain.
And so who is that tailored?
Is that tailored for just like smaller communities?
Is that more like a company that wants to make it?
They want to start participating in DAOs, but maybe they're not familiar with them.
Like, is it for a local business?
Is it for big business?
And I did some research before too, but I'm just curious if you want to share any of that with the audience.
Absolutely. That's a great question.
I'll try to make it as simple as possible.
Any project that has an on-chain treasury can use Decent.
Anybody that wants to facilitate governance, payments, and on-chain operations can use Decent DAO.
So, yeah, we see DeFi protocols, primarily DAOs, of course, but there's DeFi protocols,
there's RWA projects, there's all sorts of projects that are getting more and more interested
in using Decent that I've seen. So, you know, Unlock Protocol is one we've been talking to.
Shutter DAO is one of our OG, you know, clients through Decent.
And there's several other projects getting started with us.
If you guys know Jimmy Cohen, TreeGens is getting started on Decent as well.
That's one of my friends who has the world record for planting the most trees in a single day.
You guys know Jimmy.
He, yeah, he has Let's grow dow as well as well as
tree gen so yeah i mean there is a wide range of projects i mean i even i had a call with clema
dow today uh you know sustainability focused projects layer one blockchains like any project
that has a treasury on chain can use decent so it really is for uh yeah any anyone with an on-chain treasury that wants to
operate on chain yeah and he put he planted a tree for me and a bunch of like like i saw the list and
he i don't know if he dm me or if he posted it up but i remember like there's a certain plea
a plea certain tree and a plant number associated and then tells your name who's he typed out a lot of stuff i gotta give a lot of yeah i i have that too i i will say you guys i mean keegan i know
you've commented on my energy uh if you guys bring jimmy on a space his energy is next you
think i have energy bring jimmy onto his face uh if anybody has done any spaces with jimmy that is
like uh we we like we just bounce off each
other's energy when we're on spaces. Like it's kind of crazy. Yeah, no, that's really cool to
hear. And yeah, just decent Dow. Yeah. I definitely am curious about learning more about it. Um,
but one, well, Keegan, I have a video from East Denver where, Denver where we had a professional videographer come out and Parker kind of gave an
overview of what Decent is. So I'm going to go ahead and pin that just so you guys can check it
out in your own time. Okay. Yeah. A lot of work went into this. Very proud of how this video came
out. We definitely put a lot of work into into East Denver as a Cypher sponsor.
I've gone in.
I led, you know, I took point on getting the sponsorship and making everything happen and getting everything across the finish line.
Doing stuff like this as a lean team, I definitely learned a lot.
You know, I've gone in previous years as a sponsor through Opolis, but this was like, yeah, it was a marathon.
And we worked very hard on our showing up at East Denver.
No, and I remember last year, too, when you had the event get together with people just to kind of connect and very friendly oriented.
And then they had the headshots there for us to take.
It was really, really cool.
A little activation get together with the people.
And that's the type of stuff that's very nice and friendly and again like an easy touch point where it's like comfortable for new people to come in ask questions and not feel like overwhelmed right absolutely and i i have a
question because i feel like i don't know if valerie's headshot is from that event but i have
a feeling it is is that from the event you know what i don't
know that off the top of my head she'd have to come up here and comment it very well maybe
so i feel like she was wearing the uh the lorenzo lasagna noggle the the there's layers to this uh
hoodie jacket so i got uh got Jesus laughing over there.
Oh, we got Creatress who's in here.
What's up, Creatress?
before I forget, as a reminder, if anybody
wanted the POAP, the secret
word is Aries, all lowercase.
It's on ApeChain.
So check it out.
If you want a gold star, if you're into that, or maybe you don't
want gold stars, that's fine. You don't need to have it it's fine just an option uh or if you if you need to
get it later that's fine i can send them now because po app has also been innovating which
i've been vocalizing here for the past few weeks uh you can now send them a link directly and each
mints once you click the link they have this cool whole little setup uh your home like kind of like
builder and you can put it into
the dispenser. Really, really cool. I'm a very big advocate of POAP a little bit more now just
because I can actually utilize them. It's a little bit smoother process before. It used to definitely
be a little bit more of a lengthier process in my opinion. So once the friction goes down,
the people can come in and people participate And so, I would love to turn it
over to Jesus, who's had his hand up so patiently. Jesus, how are you doing today, friend?
Good evening to everybody. Keegan, Rachel, I have to commend you on what you're doing,
because especially with the DAO, a lot of people are, I want to say, misusing that type of organization.
And even though there are regulations that at least certain states require a minimum number of members
for it to be recognized as a DAO,
any type of organization that you have an equal amount of vote per person
could be technically run as a DAO, but it does need, one, the decentralization aspect of it,
which would work on-chain, especially for governance,
especially for Treasury.
But one of the most important ones that I think everybody,
or at least almost everybody, leaves out is the autonomous,
because part of the name is decentralized autonomous organization so overall
it's an organization it's a company right that has a certain a specific mission whether it's in
real estate whether it's in gaming whether it's in whatever it is that that organization is meant to
do it has a preset of rules and regulations that it needs to run by. The administrative part of the people and the members should be very, very minimal because you as a group should have agreed to certain structure and things that the DAO should operate in.
And if any of those rules ever need to be changed, that's where the centralization would come in on the governance,
right? Now, there are a lot of layers when you're talking about how a company could run with a
decentralized model with a DAO in itself, because DAO doesn't have to be the main company that does
the business, but it can own an umbrella company that then
that umbrella company is the actual managing member of the organization that kicks back
the profits to the DAO.
And then the DAO members literally sit back and are able to see their, not just their
investment, but their investment within the community grow because whatever it is that they set up would be able to trickle down all the way to the end user,
whether the end user is somebody who's renting a property that's owned by the umbrella company that's owned by the Dow.
There's levels to it. It's not just a one thing as far as the management of the organization. So the fact that
you have been working on this and have put it very into perspective that the voting needs to
be on chain, I commend you for that. I'm currently part of the VFAM DAO, which we were able to win
the Grateful Gorilla from Christie's Auctions from Gary Vee. And I'm actually helping set up a different DAO as we speak
that's going to be mainly on the XRP ledger as far as the funding part,
even though I do see and I can see the governance part working on base
just because of how you have built that platform.
So I definitely want to get in touch with you later on in regards to that
whenever it's more convenient for you.
But the fact that you are pushing for a more structured and streamlined process
on how to run a DAO with the governance being on-chain,
and especially when we're talking about on-chain,
we're talking about smart contracts executing certain actions
that do not require the members to be there.
So again, that was supposed to be decentralized,
which means that it's more than one person.
That way there is no one single point of failure.
It also means that not one person has more power than everybody else
to be able to front run the whole thing.
So everybody should have the same amount of voting.
It needs to run autonomous
which means by itself
and then obviously
the organization part is the actual
rules and regulations of what that
organization is supposed to do
so again Rachel I commend you and I hope
that we're able to catch up later on
in regards to this topic but Keegan thank you
again for bringing me up and I hope everybody
has a blessed, blessed afternoon.
Whoa, my God.
This man just solved the DAO dilemma here live, you guys.
Jesus, I just gave you a follow back, man.
I really feel like you understand the true philosophy of why DAOs were created
and what it truly means to operate like a
dow and that is something that decent has not pivoted out of you guys so many people uh you
know pivoted out and and faded dowels over the past couple years because of all the regulatory
uh yeah like landscape and everything uh i feel like people kind of just shift pivoted away and
shifted away and decent has
always remained committed to dallas and that's one of the reasons i love this project you guys
because i i think right now is a very good time for dallas for people to start really getting into
it and gosh i'm i'm drawing a blank on this new uh structure maybe maybe jesus would know this but
there's a new structure and you know kind of uh guidelines
and rules that were implemented for dals uh you know to legally operate and compliantly operate
i'm totally drawing a blank on the name it's some like acronym but i know it's a blockchain based
uh blockchain based limited liability company it's it's a type of it's a tight a dude do not thank you
On the ball
Hold up you guys are gonna make me move down there early you guys are gonna make me move down there
We're in the Tesla.
We're in the Tesla.
Oh, my God.
Tesla gang.
You're going to have to.
You guys, we have the same car.
We're going to have to get a photo at my birthday party.
By the way, Creatress, I'm going to share a Luma link with you.
I'm having a birthday gathering at the end of May, and I would love if you could join.
Oh, my God. I'm going to try my best, but I don't know where I'm going a birthday gathering at the end of May, and I would love if you could join. Oh, my God.
I'm going to try my best, but I don't know where I'm going.
Listen, only if you want to come.
I just, you know, I had an epiphany.
I was like, no, I just want to spend the day with my friends, chilling on a beach, relaxing with good vibes.
So, yeah, excited to see you guys, whoever can make it.
Oh, I love it. Well, I appreciate the invitation, and I will absolutely try. Yes, yes, yes, yes.
I can't wait. I can't wait. But yeah, so nice to hear you. And back to the topic at hand,
legal entities for DAOs, Duna.
Wow. So much to talk about here yeah that's the one so
yeah i'm sorry this topic i i could probably uh just you know go on for a very long time but what
i will say is that with decent there is now a tool for dallas to structure their organization
and operate compliantly and legally um decentcent has done a lot of research,
you guys, and invested a lot of funds and time and resources into, you know, legal compliance
and actually doing their due diligence to make sure that this is done correctly. So, you know,
during East Denver, we even did an event with the Blockchain Association out of Washington, D.C.
So I know that our CEO has a good relationship with the Blockchain association out of washington dc so i know that our ceo has a good
relationship with the blockchain association and is very in the loop on like what's currently
happening with the regulatory landscape so that's another thing i think uh you know that is good for
dallas to be mindful of yeah most definitely i mean i think i'm sorry for ranting i mean this is
all valuable information and insight for people that may miss some of these details or, you know, maybe their algorithm is not set up for it.
So they don't see this stuff.
And that's why I think it's so, so important for awareness to share what we're seeing, what we're working on, what we're noticing.
And just ask questions, too, and not be afraid to ask questions.
Because we don't know it.
Absolutely.
Everybody does not know everything.
Some people may pretend, but let's be be real we're all learning all the time that's why you guys we got to join teaching
tuesdays every week because there's always more to learn in this space so keegan uh hats off to
you i commend you for continuing to prioritize education in our space well thank you for those kind words and one thing too that i just found out hey sus you
mentioned uh you're part of the v v fam now i'm also in that too from from a couple years back
too uh i know v dizzle was as well um interesting to hear that wait wait wait wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. This is news to me. That is awesome. That is like we had at
the beginning, we had close to 650. I don't know how many people try to enter the doubt.
It didn't go down to roughly about half. So 300 and something. And it's like one of the things
that I noticed, especially when you have such a big group, is it takes so long to make
any type of decision, especially because at least back then, there was so little clarity on what you
can do, how you could do it, how it had to be formed. It was a mission and a half. And I am
grateful despite of all of the hiccups that I've seen and I've noticed, not just within our doubt,
because again, since we were one of the first ones,
there was a lot of hiccups because there's a lot of things that we didn't know.
But throughout time and seeing all the hiccups that other DAOs were made,
I am grateful for all the knowledge I've gained to be able to actually say,
no, from the beginning, before anything is set up,
you have to have the actual structure of how it's supposed to run.
So when everybody joins, they're able to agree, yes, we're okay with it running this way.
They sign up.
Everything goes into a wallet, which would be the escrow.
You set up the smart contract so it can self-execute, and then you register.
Because it should be as minimal work for the members as possible.
So, Keegan, are you still part of the VFAM DAO, or did you actually sell the decision?
No, I don't think I sold my spot.
I don't know.
Valerie, can you hear me?
Because we were in two, and I don't know. Valerie, can you hear me? Is this, because we were in two, and I don't know, with one of them, we bought land in Sandbox, I think, or it was a different one.
I don't remember.
VDizzle, you here or no?
Yeah, I'm here.
Not Creatress.
I'm Valerie.
What's up?
Is that Jesus who's speaking?
Yeah, no, we've been having a lot of discussion in the in the DAO right now. Actually. Yes. Yes.
You might see me under OPN source. Yes. No, yes. I know you. I'm one of the moderators in the in the discord.
So Valerie be dizzle in here. But no. Yeah, we're in the v fam dow and we're also in the other one which was
v dow which is different yeah yeah but the the v fam dow is the one that bought the piece at
christy's was that what it was with the green with the green logo like the was that the one i'm
thinking of uh yeah we wore the green piggy bank. It was like a piggy bank
It's still it's still safe it's doing shared it's in good hands
All right, right now we're having like a big discussion on like, you know
We have some leftover funds from the ETH we said we aside some ETH to pay, like, the lawyers and to pay the venue where our art pieces is held.
But there's still some leftover ETH where it's like, are we going to invest?
Do we give it back to the holders?
Like, there's a whole discussion.
But even before we can even have that discussion, it's like, well, how do we bring back people to have this discussion and then therefore vote?
And so it's a whole thing. I mean, yeah, I mean, I'm sorry. I know I was in the space, but I was not listening because we're over here at NFTLA right now.
space back and hear what Rachel gave because yeah we're definitely experiencing that that
challenge of like getting people back in and to have this this conversation because yeah it's very
hard to move forward when you don't have your holders in there to discuss and then to vote
yeah and I think honestly like I and I feel like that may be a part of it too,
where people, maybe people stop, they, they're not as interested, but there's probably also
a group where they're just like, well, I don't know, this is kind of like still underground,
but I really truly think once the like legislation and safeguards and policy and stuff comes out over
these next 90 days, which I know that the guy Charles, who's the founder of Cardano,
has mentioned that there is bills that are coming out to be voted on soon.
When that stuff hits, I'm telling you, all this stuff, it's not going to be underground.
It's going to be right there in our face.
It's going to be above ground at that point.
It's going to be right there.
I can feel it.
I can freaking feel it.
Well, Keegan, I agree with you, but this is the issue.
And this is the issue that I've always had,
especially with the DAO.
I know that I might sound annoying to my DAO member family,
but it's like we cannot wait until that comes out.
These are conversations that you need to have prior to it
because you need to be ready for when that hammer hits. You need to have everything prepared for when it hits. You already
are set up to go. If you start having those conversations after the fact, you're only
prolonging. You're slowing down the process. And by that time, it might even be too late.
So it's a matter of we need to get like we need to get
everybody back on board and some of them might just not be interested some of them might have
muted their notifications some of them might have deleted the app so it's like how do we get in
contact with the original members that were there because for it to part to for it to actually work
we need and for us to not violate security laws, we need to make sure
that we run it as a DAO and not just a few core members of the DAO. Yeah. So actually, sorry,
if I can step in here, one of the things that I've been following the nouns, DAO, right? I love the
nouns. I love the way they operate. I love how they're funding things for the good. They're
funding artists. They're funding cool projects. they're funding people, you know, internationally to help, you know, the need and
all that stuff. I love what they do. And so what they did is they held a festival in LA called
Nounstown this past year. And one of their main missions, which I didn't know, because I'm not a
holder, right? I'm just, I'm just going to i'm hanging out But I actually got to witness them having an IRL meeting with the holders
To talk about moving their dow because they had their dow
Incorporated in the cayman islands and they're like, yo, we need to look at the duna. The duna wasn't active yet
It was just about, or it just,
it just came out. And so it was awesome to see how they came together and they debated in person,
giving the pros and the cons, what happens to people, to the holders who are U S based versus
international. The nouns, the nouns people have a lot of people in latin america and they're like well
Here's the implications for us because we're not us-based, you know, so why are we gonna so it was really interesting to see how like
They had a civil debate
They had like the pros and cons and then when they get got back home, right?
Because this was like at a festival this was like at a festival, this was like at a brunch
on a rooftop. Everyone's, you know, having coffee, tea, pastries, and debating over this. And then
once everybody got back home, they put up the vote in the DAO, should we move it to the Duna?
And it passed. And so that they use that opportunity at the festival to move the holders
So i'm like dang if we could do something like that
Like we probably should have took an advantage of having vcon and like having these meetings for the v fam gal
To like talk it out debate what where are we at?
You know, it's obviously so much easier when you can communicate in person and of course I understand
That's not everyone can show up irl
But like maybe we just have like a meetup or like, you know, I guess the next best thing is yeah
Can we can we meet virtually but even then it's like that's the hardest thing is like you gotta
You know one-on-one dms make phone calls text messages
Like someone's gonna have to do all that work or spread it apart someone
This is volunteer work, too. Like this is not paid
Okay, yeah
I want to add to what Val said because I was there for this, too, and I've been part of it
Um, not only did the nouns vote to do a duna and is now a duna
Then they needed a duna admin
so she she just touched on this is this isn't a paid like paid thing right like like showing up
to meetings and all these things well there was a proposal put forth for who's going to be the
duna admin and three different or four people like propose themselves as the duna admin with a salary of a hundred thousand
dollars per year actually it might be it might be two hundred thousand and you know how we chose who
the admin was by voting the dow members voted on each of their proposals and whoever got the most
and actually ended up being a little bit different um i didn't get to vote on that but
um now we have a duna
admin and they get paid that money and that person is in charge of making sure that the
dow is doing everything legally and in compliance and like making sure everybody kycs and then
another thing that announced dow has that maybe could help is the noun cell so there's people
that are like counselors basically a council that helps that is like actively voting with a few tokens that the noun cell has as well.
So it's not just like all the voters because not everybody votes.
Then there's a noun cell and those people are like in charge of coming every week and like voting on the proposals.
So anyway, there you go.
Yeah, I think there's always a page to take from like nouns down or even like pizza down
You know dows that have been a little bit more established in here longer
You know and there's always things to learn like no one has it down perfect
But I mean, yeah, those those are the challenges like the V fam down is facing and I think a lot of other doubts as well
Amen facing and i think a lot of other doubts as well amen we're getting some there's some teaching going on on tuesday all right this is this is one of those spaces i i could just chill here and
continue the conversation uh like i i really love all of your uh just your comments on uh
now and style on pizza dolls some of these more established DAOs who really have not given up and have continued to grow.
And, yeah, I see a lot of opportunity, too, with PizzaDAO.
By the way, Snacks from PizzaDAO is on the Own the Doge team, fun fact.
So, you know, it works alongside Ryan, myself, and others on the Woof Weekly spaces.
And, yeah, I feel like those are projects that really get it and really try and have continued showing up.
OK. Yeah. I mean, you know, at the end of the day, like things just don't happen by chance.
Right. People people have to put in some work like innovation doesn't happen by chance. in order to move it in the direction there has to be proactive work and sometimes it's busy work
but sometimes it's just creating awareness and sometimes it's creating the why for people like
why should i pay attention and so then that becomes a discussion well let's have a strategy session
how can we make people care about certain things and why should they care about certain things
you know and then frame they need to be framed right. And it takes
time, it takes time, very intentional, very mindful. Like, I can tell you from my professional
opinion, like to do a proper lesson in the classroom takes time, it has to be dialed
in so that there's context and things are connected. So there is layers to it. Shout
out to Valerie and Kreatress. But in order to do it well, when it is done well, you'll have more engagement.
If it's done sloppy, you're going to have mediocre engagement.
I'm sorry.
This is just the reality of the situation.
And that's just in general for any of the lessons.
This is not in reference to DAOs.
This is just in general.
So I think these are really good topics to talk about and just have in mind and you know i think having
the discussions just it really helps kind of flesh out like flesh out where things need to go and
how we can all kind of like help shape it in some way right and you know everybody here like again
continuing to give your time i really appreciate it round of applause for you guys
in the audience spending time here you know i see people sneaking in minty dawson raleigh
maddie coming through again like this is fun this is really really good i'm really glad that people
care to listen and share and participate and yeah and there's a po app if you guys want it
the secret word is aries because i'm an aries so So, yeah. Oh my god, happy birthday!
Happy birthday, Keegan!
Happy birthday!
Happy birthday to you!
Happy birthday!
Happy birthday to you!
Happy birthday!
Feliz cumpleaños!
What she said!
All right.
Okay, we're continuing on this adventure here.
I think KTF Teaching Tuesdays.
I love how Keegan brings it back.
Like, okay.
Yeah, but no, I do appreciate it.
Thank you for singing, guys guys and thank you for for the
support and and everybody i've had a lot of support actually uh with people wishing me
happy birthday and the dms and online and on the timeline much more than i i just suspected so um
and it's it's great that people again care to kind of like take time to learn and you know there's a
time to degen and there's a time to just kick back and
kind of like put some pieces together for the puzzle right uh and so sometimes there's a time
just to play games and stream online which hopefully i'll be doing a little bit later today
uh but we still have rachel here this is she's the guest on our show today and so rachel i think
we still have a few other things to touch on. And I'm kind of curious.
Oh, man, I there's there's probably a lot more in like an hour or two space.
It's hard to cover everything that I've worked on over the past couple of years and even everything that's happening now.
I mean, I'm going to Florida next week, you know, going to several events.
I'm actually taking a trip to support some friends.
So I mentioned earlier that I'm a published author and I connected one of my best friends
with my book of my group of co-authors. And she's now releasing her book on neuroscience or
biohacking for entrepreneurs. So I'm going out. I was was gonna surprise her at her book launch
event but I was like okay now I gotta let her know so we can coordinate things in
advance but she was still very happy and going out for my childhood best
friends wedding this weekend so yeah going from supporting one friend to
supporting another friend and then I am heading out to Dubai you guys I'm going
to token 2049
and sponsoring several events i'm going from florida to dubai and then uh taking a taking a couple day nap when i'm game strong air air game like air miles air miles booked and busy is what i heard so i also like yeah it sounds like a lot um so i wanted to ask
more specifically i've seen your content and i'm kind of curious about the interviews and the
micro content you had with the guy waka flaka is that his name yeah waka flaka flame uh so waka flaka has become you know see
they didn't even know they didn't even see it they didn't even see it oh really i love waka
waka is a friend i i'll share a video you know it's funny i was hanging out with waka in san
francisco i i actually booked a show for him at a temple nightclub last year i didn't even share
this but last year i was consulting for temple nightclub last year i didn't even share this but last year i was
consulting for temple nightclub as a media advisor and uh booking some shows i helped with their
soldier boy show i helped with waka flocka and uh so i i held a base meetup the same day as his show
and i'm like you know what maybe he'll come by and not only did he come by he shook everybody's hand
at my base meetup. He walked around.
It felt like something out of a movie, you guys.
We had a DJ there that night.
I can't make this up.
This really happened.
So Waka comes to the base meetup.
I go outside, and I see this big black SUV pull up, right?
And the doors open up, and Waka a flock of flame and his entourage step out
and i'm like okay like welcome i give everyone hugs and i'm escorting them in and i had the dj
play hard in the paint like the instrumental for hard in the paint hey and we walked into like
can't make this up you guys it is a crazy space we work i i like it blows my mind sometimes the uh
the experiences i've had so you guys aren't you aren't old friends like this you you met him
through this like kind of the event and then you kind of asked there's layers to this there's layers
There's layers to this.
There's layers to this.
There's layers to this.
So I guess the way I know Waka Flocka is the same way I know all of you.
I show up relentlessly every day and build connections and new friendships.
And I became friends with Waka's crypto advisor who was in the chat.
And, you know, there is a big base.
Like, I don't like the term kol there's someone
with a big following on on base who suggested that waka's team connect with me so i can kind
of be a liaison for them in the base community she's got a good word they put in a good word
they put in the good word they said hey you should get on her podcast you should do an interview
so waka came out to my meetup and I had, had the equipment. I interviewed him
and, uh, yeah, I'll go ahead and pin it. You guys, he'd said some really, uh, said some really cool
things. Let me, let me see if I can pull this up. And we also did a Twitter space together too,
but yeah, this is the, uh, this is a short video from the longer podcast episode, which I'm still
sitting on this, you guys guys i'm editing it i'm
making it really nice i brought in someone from nouns doubt for that uh podcast episode too so
stay tuned hang talk about building talk about ground game strong like on top of the energy
and positivity that you have rich i gotta say you're a very positive person which i really
appreciate that's that's the number one like I don't know if you guys are familiar with
Clifton Strength or Myers-Briggs, but my number one strength in life is positivity. And if you
have that down, if you have the right mindset and show up with positivity, support, and do your best
to uplift others, I feel like a lot of other things fall
into place in life and i i for one i do try to be very positive and sometimes and i don't know you
totally are i try in my work environment not everybody's always positive the district office
they're kind of frustrated pretty often you know that's a big challenge like remaining positive
in environments where there is negativity or not the best mindset.
I think that is the ultimate challenge to stay true to your character and just have unwavering commitment to doing good.
Well, I definitely do that. I definitely and I bring gold stars.
I literally give small gold sticker stars to such a teacher hi like these are like like high upper management
like directors and executive director my program i do it all the time i don't do it all the time
but every now and then i'll catch them off guard and i'm like all right how'd your week go and then
usually like okay well it's all right and just i was like well was it negative they're like no i
was like all right so it'd be a positive then. So they don't give them a sticker. And then they like it. So something small, so small,
can kind of like put them in a better mood. And so I used to do it in the class as well back in
the day, but I decided to just start giving it to the adults because I think the adults need to
straighten up their fucking attitudes, in my opinion. Excuse my French. Agreed. There we go.
There we go, Jesus. See? All right. Yeah, this is the spicy part of the show, friends.
That's one thing.
I have some news for Creatress and all of my Nounsdale folks out there.
There is another interaction I had that was really cool.
You know, came from the space through Nounsdale.
Let me go ahead and pin it.
I'm not going to spoil the surprise here.
All right, I'm going to look for it, Keegan.
Maybe you can riff for a minute while I'm digging.
Yeah, so actually, and one of the things that I talked with Rachel about briefly
was kind of just like all the stuff that she'd done in terms of like growth
over the past
like year and a half. And I just, again, I was so impressed. Like you've been building brand,
like you've been building your brand. And I see it shows from the video to the spaces,
being supportive, showing up in real life. Did it, always like did that come natural or were you at some
point were like you know what i'm going to consciously put more energy effort for sure on
this or did you refine your craft or was it just a matter of like getting the perspective like or
was there something that really like like a cause and effect type of situation that made you want to
like take it because i felt like you took it and this is just me looking on this from the side I feel like I saw it became more more like dialed in more tight
more serious not serious I don't know if serious is the word I want to use but I felt like I just
felt like there was more energy detail stuff coming very intentional strategy implementation
operating like I feel like you've been operating.
Is that fair?
Yeah, absolutely.
And there actually is, now that you're mentioning it, I'm thinking about it a little deeper.
There has been a couple of cause and effect, just kind of instances in my life.
I will say I have had the foundation always of loving people and, you know, wanting to show up, make friends, build community. That's been ingrained in me since, like, high school. You know, I've always been active in clubs,
really enjoyed school and learning, went to college, I've always been into creativity. So
I've always had that foundation of, like, my interests and things that I've gravitated towards.
But I honestly, and this might sound, I mean, maybe some folks here, I'm sure everyone can relate to some extent. There were actually some hard times in my life
and struggles I had to overcome that made me a lot more hungry to do good in the world and succeed.
Like, for instance, like I think I shared with you guys, like about a year ago, you're right,
Keegan, I did have a shift a year or so ago. My father passed away and he had a lifelong dream to become
a published author. And that was something during his lifetime he wasn't able to accomplish. So
about a month after he passed away, I connected with the group of authors. I was teaching a
workshop at USC in Southern California. And I was approached by a woman, Susita. I think some of you
know Susita. And she was like, I really think you'd
be perfect for this book, Rachel. We have one spot left. Do you want to join? Do you want to
become a published author? And I was like, this is just like stranger than fiction. Like a month
after my dad passed, I was invited to pursue the dream that he had. And that since then,
I've become a lot more hungry to make sure I make the most out of my life because our time is so finite you guys and yeah i have been hungry to make sure i'm living life to the
fullest and uh making you know making the most of my time here so wow sorry again now we're getting
wow and i just want to rock star i want to say, yeah, I'm, you know, I'm very sorry about your father.
And it sounds like that, you know, that catalyst, it really, you know, it put you into overdrive.
I think that it also showed me that, you know, there is going to be loss and hardship in everyone's life.
And, you know, there's no bringing someone back when they're gone. But what I can do is make the most of my time and try to make the best of a situation and
use the loss as fuel to do good. So that just made logical sense to my brain, you know, to double
down on doing good things. So, yeah, no, I really appreciate you sharing, sharing those details. And
yeah, I don't get asked questions like that on Spaces.
You know what?
I'm normally the one interviewing, so that's probably why.
And I can say, and I agree wholeheartedly with you on that point as well.
As someone, again, my birthday was yesterday, who was born in 84, who just turned 41.
I've seen a thing or two now I put in some time I put in some reps you know I've been lucky enough to be around some good people I had some good mentors
not paid mentors just people around me that helped steer me in the right way like my master teacher
like from when I was doing my college teaching credential,
like my, he was a marathon coach as well. I had really close friends. We all played like paintball
for years. I'm like, it's crazy how fast the time can go, right? But it's like sometimes some
things just flip and switch, right? And it's a different situation for everybody, you know?
But sometimes it's that catalyst that really everybody you know and but sometimes it's that
catalyst that really gets you to take off and then the sky's the limit right who knows and i'll take
you to what do you say token 2049 or to buy 24 like you never know yeah i had no idea like this
journey into web 3 um it has taken me to some of the best days of my life, you guys, opportunities I never would have
imagined in my life. And it really started just from being curious, showing up, being hungry to
learn and, you know, trying a new way to make an impact in the world. And yeah, I actually,
I pinned a post above that I was mentioning earlier, something that I did. I think Creatress
and Valerie will be happy about this I had a chance to hang
out with Steve Aoki on my birthday last year and I gifted him a pair of noggles you guys so brought
brought the nounish vibes to Steve Aoki.
Well that's got to be on our nounish news. Just wait for that.
I mean, hey, yeah, I mean, there are other things in the nouns community.
Like I was involved with putting together a proposal.
If you guys remember Prop 518, unfortunately it didn't pass, but I did learn a lot from that.
I was working with, if anybody knows, Princess Sarah Culberson from Sierra Leone. So this princess that has a
non-profit for increasing clean drinking water in Africa in Sierra Leone put together a proposal
and wanted to build some wells to, you know, to make sure no kid in these villages in Sierra Leone
goes without clean drinking water. Unfortunately, it didn't pass. But I do want to revisit that
someday because I do think it
was a nounish prop uh just there were like little things people wanted to see and print you guys
know if you're in the nouns uh you know nouns verse uh there's like a time like timing also
matters as well with prep with proposals so i would love to revisit that someday
visit that someday you should yeah well it definitely sounds like you've been capitalizing
on on moments and just really operating and it seems like and this is a word i've been using a
lot lately like the momentum like it feels like when you have the momentum and you're able to like
harness it like you can just do a lot of stuff i feel like and you know but you but sometimes
you have to be able to you have to be willing to accept it right like another thing that i've
used to say and look at is that like sometimes you need to empty your cup before you can get
more put into your cup because sometimes we take too much on and it starts to overflow right and
that's not always a good thing because sometimes you need to, like, let some of the stuff go so you can fill it back up.
And that's kind of an analogy that Bruce Lee gave from when I read his book.
That's not mine.
I'm not taking credit for that.
But it's an important perspective, I think, to have.
Yeah, I totally agree with that.
And not sure, you guys, I actually, on that note, I need to wind down over here and order some dinner.
So I'm not sure if Ryan, Creatress, Valerie, anyone else has any questions, Jesus, or anything else before we wrap up here.
But I do got to jump and feed myself.
Well, I mean, I think I covered a lot of the lay of the land with my questions. And like you said, we're not going to have time to cover it event, you know, back in November of 2023 when SDNFT Friends threw an event.
Oh, the Thanksgiving, Friendsgiving in San Diego, yes.
So she's a practitioner, and I think that's super valuable when people practice what they preach, and you do.
you do. So kudos to you. Honestly, it's just so much fun when you find like-minded people that
So kudos to you.
you align with. And I am a big proponent of the IRL component of Web3, showing up, making friends
in person. You just get to know people on such a deeper level versus like, yeah, you know, spaces are great, live streams.
Like, we all get to vibe and get to know each other here in a borderless, global way.
But there is no replacing the IRL interaction.
So it's always a pleasure showing up.
So thank you guys for putting the work in that you do.
Yeah, I guess anybody else on stage want to ask anything for rachel or anybody in the
audience before she heads out uh let me go ahead and check the bottom right hand corner
uh i know rftz i gotta send you the po app uh the video is there to check it out for decent doubt
yeah i mean sheesh we cover a lot of ground i mean we cover a lot of ground. I mean, we cover a lot of stuff. And yeah, it's been great.
And I appreciate everybody spending time.
I'll still do a roundtable and just cover everything with Tinky TF after Rachel heads out if anybody wants to stick around.
But we will start wrapping it up, I think.
Yes, ma'am, in the front row.
So one question or one challenge I have for everyone listening to this space,
if you haven't retweeted the room and followed everyone up here to help amplify what they're
doing and help boost them in the algorithm, take a moment to do that now, if you can.
And also the pin tweet above you guys, I'm starting these base network weekly live streams.
If everyone could take a moment to like engage comment or retweet that would go a
long way and help to amplify uh what we're doing on base so any support there would be appreciated
and i know ryan might might have uh i don't know if ryan wants to share anything about
clanker con or share a link for people to get involved but yeah uh yeah i'd love to share a
quick link i'll throw it up to the the jumbotron and uh it's
the creators.com slash clanker con uh also getting people on board the based creators directory so
uh thank you guys so much for for having me on and uh thanks rachel thanks keegan uh thanks
creatress jesus uh rest of the the crew up here uh Wish you guys all a very amazing evening.
Yeah, and thank you guys for spending time here again
and showing up and being present and making an impact.
And if that's something you guys believe,
Ground Game Strong, that's my personal brand.
It's in my bio.
Check it out if you want a shirt or a hat or anything.
You know what? These are things that matter so all right rachel well thank you so
much did you get you got the po app right i hope no i didn't get the po app yet but uh yeah but i
got the word so i got my po app app and i'll collect it is there like a time limit on that uh i think it closes at 9 30 but if
you don't have time or if you forget i also have it in the po app dispenser and i could also send
it to you too afterwards so no yeah if you if you could shoot that to me like shoot a link uh that
that would be awesome um thank you man yeah and thank you again for spending time and i hope you
have a great rest of your week and ryan it it was great to meet you. And yeah, we'll have to connect in person as well. And
yeah, can't wait till you get down here, Rachel, to help build out the community even more in
Southern California. Yep. I cannot wait to see you, Valerie, Creatress, all of our San Diego
friends. It truly is like every time I go down there, I'm like, man, the community is unparalleled, you guys.
So I'm very excited to be back in the action with y'all.
And yeah, thank you again, Keegan, for having me.
Nice to hear you, Rachel.
Excited to see you.
All right.
Bye, everyone.
It was a pleasure meeting.
All right.
There they go.
Well, ladies and gentlemen, appreciate all the time.
10KTF Teaching Tuesdays.
And, yeah, as far as the roundtable goes, you know, if you haven't followed them yet,
go check out the 10KTF handle on Instagram.
Valerie, I think we already looked it up before, right?
What did we say it was?
Let me pull it up.
I have it here somewhere.
So they've been sharing a lot of the storyline for 10 KTF,
not storyline, but different short micro content
on their Instagram a lot more often now.
And for those that don't know I know it was something
that Figgy had mentioned a while back and let me go ahead and pull it up here old here it is
old Japanese craftsman so if you go to Instagram check out old Japanese craftsman go ahead and
give that a follow and you can start to see some of the content and some of the like basically
the culture of 10kTF and the storyline and some of the like basically the culture of think
atf and the storyline and learn a little bit about the characters on there and so they got
over 7,000 followers in a pretty short amount of time and separate from that as well let me go
ahead and pin up last week they had the grail Chat, which was actually taking place on Thursday
when Valerie and myself were actually going up to an event up in LA.
It was a Canva kind of AI education event,
which actually was hosted at Selfie Stadium.
So that was cool.
I got to actually go through that through work.
So this is a little sponsorship.
So shout out to San Diego Unified,
where we got these comped tickets to go in
and that was like a $250 ticket
for people to go in real life
but they also live streamed it too
and their AI stuff that they have
that's being baked into Canva
is pretty dang cool
I was able to see it
and they debuted it that day
and I'm not just talking about
some of the tools that were already there
because they've had some AI tools
for a little bit now already but this is kind of a new kind of avenue where
they're building in the AI prompt within it, and you can actually create different, like,
applications and different games and different things straight in Canva, and you can share them
and post them, and they're very dynamic, and you can interact with them so they got some cool stuff coming for
anybody that uses Canva and so definitely keep a lookout for that and I posted up above the
Grail chat that was hosted by John Carl and M. Figge from last week and they talked to James
who's the head of Ugalabs who also did Gobz, which is on Ape Chain.
And so, yeah, definitely check out that space that's pinned up above
if you want to hear more about what's going on
there from the Grail chat.
But aside from that, I think
that kind of
wraps us up here.
Creatress, VDizzle, and Kaylee,
where are you guys? So where are you guys exactly?
You guys are still in transit or what?
You on your way back here?
What's going on?
We just got out of the casino!
We just gambled!
And we won!
Three bottles of water was a score.
The deal we struck was one bottle of bottles.
One bottle of bubbles. for three bottles of water.
Yep, we're on our way back.
We just finished charging.
Okay, all right.
And getting water for hydration.
Yes, charge and hydrate, my friends.
Yes, stay charged, stay hydrated.
Yes, we are on the road we're we're getting back on the
road we're about a couple an hour and 43 minutes we're an hour and 43 minutes away yes this is
usually past your bedtime creatures are you all right i don't i know you fall oh what i hear
oh yeah thanks for acknowledging that yes i am on my i'm my... I'm on fumes, but I'm doing okay.
I'm still here.
We'll see if I can manage to not go to sleep on this drive.
Okay, well, it's cool that there's three of you.
It's a nice little ground game you got going up there.
Yeah, extra ground.
Our ground game is strong.
Not like you.
We didn't cause an earthquake today.
So, we didn't have...
Had an earthquake.
Yeah, I forgot to mention that.
Oh, you didn't talk about the earthquake on the news?
You lost it with your ground game.
I could share that, actually, if anybody
wants to see. But we'd love to
hear about what is happening
reports from the field.
You guys were just up in LA for the NFTLA.
What's the vibe up there?
What's the talk of the town?
Oh, I think we are the talk of the town.
We were the talk of the town.
We were the talk of the town.
The life of the party.
Everybody was gravitating towards us.
Naturally.
Naturally, because there weren't that many.
We had like full champagne mimosas catered just for us.
Pretty much.
Like literally just for us.
And then Kaylee was like
the guest of honor because she was showcasing her art there on this beautiful big screen on the
main stage on the main stage we me and creatress we did like our live show there's layers to this
which stay tuned it was recorded so we did a couple cool interviews kaylee was on there we had jen from one love dow and
Everybody was complimenting our like setup because for the seats, you know at a conference
Sometimes they just have like these single chairs. They had pews
For you know like church pews as the seating and I got these two big guys
To move the pew for creatures and i so we could have it in
front of the screens as our background and like do our show so that everybody was watching us do
our show and like giving us a compliment watching it we have a live audience we have a live audience
for our show we got notes afterwards too and one of the people in the audience was like a tv producer who had a show himself like a talk show investing and like you know finding
talent and talking about you know monetization and finding models and basically trying to help
us in a way like yeah he was giving us advice he was giving us advice and he's like oh i want you
to meet he got he like we went on some facetime this guy, David, who has like an award-winning show.
And we said hi.
Like, yeah, we were the main, main guests there.
Yes, today was a good day to come because it was decidedly the day before the big day, apparently.
Very highly exclusive.
Extremely so much so that each of us got a limited edition World of Women Monopoly set.
Remember that?
They say they're mahogany.
I don't know if they're really mahogany, but that just sounded funny.
Hunger Games.
I don't know if it's mahogany, but I think there's a way to make it.
It was mahogany.
Yeah, was it?
Dang, dude. know if it's mahogany but there's a way someone yeah was it yeah dang dude so we each got one
and i guess we can say it here but we're gonna have a special collaboration that literally
happened on site and we have a really really cool giveaway in a really fun way we're gonna
implement it not gonna give out all the details, but the prize will be
a Monopoly
board for one of our viewers
of there's layers to this. So stay
tuned. Next Tuesday at 1pm
we will be sharing more
details then.
Boom. Boom.
Round game strong.
sounds like you made a day of it.
It sounds like you made the rounds and had some good connections,
some good energy.
Strength in numbers, too, right?
Wish you could have been here, Keegan.
I will say, too, your boy, your boy Troy, you know, the ordinal side of the,
you know, he's an Aries aries too so he says happy birthday also
yep yep so he he wanted to hang out with us he left the event to hang out and eat with us
and he had a wonderful time yeah Troy's uh quite the character I mean he's he's usually very positive too all the times
he's so positive I see I see I see him get fired up too though at different times but generally
speaking he's a very like uh optimistic person and he's very like go go go with the flow next thing
yeah he's pretty cool you haven't seen him for a quick minute that's cool
nice so it was a good crowd huh huh? Any other familiar faces up there?
I would say it was a lot of new faces.
You know, it was really great to, like, connect with other people who have been in the space as well.
But just, like, not necessarily in our normal bubbles like we always see and stuff.
So that was pretty awesome to see some new faces And connect with others
And people flew in
I got to connect with this awesome lady
Her name is Kit
She flew in from Canada
Jen flew in from Tampa, Florida
So a few people had flown out
To come out
Lady Rocket
Oh yeah, Lady Rocket
If you guys know her
Yeah, I remember She's been following each other for a while Lady Rocket. Oh yeah, Lady Rocket. If you guys know her. Hold on.
Yeah, I remember she's been
following each other for a while.
I remember she's been around for a while
with all the space stuff that she's been doing.
Wow, that's cool.
Yeah, it seems like people are flying out. What the freak?
People flew out this weekend for the event
here, Stan with Crypto in San Diego. People flying
there to LA.
Where's everybody getting all this extra cash to be flying?
That's the question I want to know.
What the freak?
I don't know.
I don't know.
But, yeah, good, positive things.
People are hanging out.
And I would say, yeah, like, I don't know how the rest of the week is going to go.
But, you know, like, we're not going to be there, I don't think, for the rest of the week.
So, I don't know.
I don't know if it will be as great as today was, because today was like the highlight, I think, for us and for everybody, to be honest.
Did the actual conference already start?
It's tomorrow, the first official day.
Got it. But today,
technically, I feel like was a day
because yesterday was their
registration. Yeah, it was.
Yesterday they didn't register until a certain time
and today they had the Wow
Brunch, which was the exclusive
brunch from 10th
to 1. Extremely exclusive.
Extremely exclusive.
And then from 2 to 6, they had the actual artists that are in the showcase showing.
So that's what we were there for.
So that was from 2 to 6.
Officially, there was two events today.
Well, that's good.
And for the center.
Both, pretty much. We were. We were. We were at the center. Both, pretty much.
Definitely the whole show today.
That's cool.
You made the rounds.
Yeah, I would have loved
to have gone,
unfortunately.
I got to work
a full-time job down here.
not that again.
I know. Seriously. Freaking ridiculous. Freaking. I don't know if it's technically a full-time job down here you know yeah not that again i know seriously
someone's gotta be someone's gotta be responsible yeah around here yeah it's all right i usually
make up for it on the weekends on the flip side so okay right uh all right well dang seems like
uh you guys had some positive energy, positive moments.
Yeah, we covered a lot of ground.
That was a good talk with Rachel.
She seems like a wealth of knowledge and very authentic, very real.
And I hope you guys got something out of it.
And if you didn't get anything from the conversation, which I think you did,
there's the PO app.
Feel free to claim it.
The secret word is Aries. I could also send it to you if you did. There's the PO app. Feel free to claim it. Secret word is Ares.
I could also send it to you if you need it sent to you as well.
What else? What else? We covered
Yeah, we covered
the happenings.
I did see some other stuff. No, I'll
save that stuff for next week because
I feel like there's
a lot of stuff just kind of happening right now and i haven't had enough enough time to do deep
dives and really have a lot more context and things so i think i'll spend some time over the
next week kind of doing some more reading and research and bringing information to you guys
so you don't have to do the research and connect the dots. You can just kick back and listen.
But aside from that, who else we got in here?
Shiggins, sneaking in.
See you sneaking in.
Congrats on the mutant, too.
Coming all fresh.
Everybody's getting mutants, too, now.
We got budget cuts and education.
I cannot afford a mutant.
All right. Aside from that. Aren't you, like, co I cannot afford a mutant. All right.
Aren't you, like, co-owner of a mutant, though?
Kind of, like, low-key?
Just kidding.
Okay, okay.
I didn't even say with who.
No, it's all right.
Never mind, never mind, never mind.
You'll get your own.
You'll get your own.
Don't worry.
I'm focused on building brand. And so i know slowly and surely things will come the
way they need to and so we're going to use the energy we're going to use a secret we're going
to we're going to pull in what needs to happen um but yeah uh anything else before we start wrapping
up here um hey sus any final thoughts for uh for closing out here.
Maybe Jesus already shut it down.
That's okay.
We had a lot of good conversations here today.
All right.
Well, Creatress.
We'll go to Creatress, Valerie, and Kaylee.
What are your final thoughts for closing us out here?
Yes, final thoughts.
Final thoughts were...
Espresso martinis are fantastic.
I don't know.
That is true.
Literally, at the bar, we went to a bar and like we got pizza
But after Kaylee ordered an espresso martini everybody at the bar
These dudes would like tatted all like looking like like
Trendsetting today big time big time
Yeah, well, that's cool cool shout yeah my mom's a
big fan of those two shout out to my mom down there yeah giving giving birth to

espresso martinis as well so yeah that's good taste okay i'll do my last thoughts and then i'll let val do close us out
uh my last thoughts are um keegan here great at picking guests um good good work with rachel
um i support i support and uh thanks for having us on as your impromptu on-the-ground reporters. That's
also very smart of you to have us.
And yes, thanks for class. That's all I've got. Tune in next week to There's Layers
to This at 1pm PST. Actually, tune in tomorrow because we usually go live today, but we will
be doing it tomorrow So tune in tomorrow to There's Layers to this

And I'm your co-host Valerie aka A.V. Dizzle of There's Layers to this and my closing thoughts are
Keep being you
authentic and genuine
put a smile on your face
because you will attract the people
that you would need to because that's what
we did today us three ladies
walked in there
we owned the gallery
we owned the space
and the stage we made the
party our own and everybody wanted to just
attach to us and join the party and so keep bringing the energy for that for yourself
in your life and you'll just attract the right people and have a good time despite everything
that's going around the world you can only control what's going on in your life You can't control everything especially sometimes the bad things, you know, it sucks, but you gotta live your own
Life and you're blessed with living today. So make the most out of it. That's my closing thoughts
All right.
These are all the facts.
These are all the facts and the truths being spoken.
And yeah, I appreciate you guys jumping on.
And Kaylee, your final thoughts for the espresso, correct?
What's that?
Your final thoughts for the espresso martinis?
Get with five. So just live
your life.
