GMGM, welcome to
Coffee with Captain. Happy Friday, everyone. We are live
over on Abstract. YouTube
and X video is back.
All those are pinned up top as well as
the audio spaces for today.
Appreciate y'all being here. It is
the... Oh, muted
on X. I don't...
Oh, it's back now. I don't know why it was muted, but apparently we were muted on X. My apologies for the lack of intro music there. Uh, just another reason I did not
do it intentionally, but just another reason you should head over to YouTube, hit that sub button
and join us over there for the live feed to make sure it's the best audio. It's the best video
and make sure you don't miss out
on any uh any of the the banger intros we actually have some new jingles coming so for all the jingle
fans stay tuned big week next week at least one maybe two new jingles uh coming live uh with uh
some new sponsor announcements excited for that speaking of sponsor announcements not a i mean
we're fans of easy great great uh partner we don't have any
active campaigns per se but but we are giving away a 250 dollar bz claw pull today it's going
to go to our community member of the month for february very fitting that it falls on the 30th
anniversary of pokemon so gm to the g GMers, shout out to Einstein,
Widowmaker over there in YouTube.
We said that our community of the month for February
is coming from our YouTube subs.
So if you want to be in the running
for that $250 BZ Claw pool,
make sure you are subscribed
over on YouTube.
You can find that again
pinned up and it's greatly appreciated., again, pinned up on top.
And it's greatly appreciated.
YouTube is a grind.
While I've been doing this for 1,106 consecutive weekdays,
YouTube is a new venture for us after we kicked out video,
and it is a grind to build that following,
to build those subscribers over there. We're really pushing to get to 500 subs.
And then I'll probably stop shilling the YouTube subs a little bit because we are just looking for those who really want to tune into the show.
But it does help us unlock some added features on YouTube once we hit 500.
Late to that game, that's on me.
Actually, I'll blame Steve.
I'll blame Steve for being late to the video game.
But not really. It wasn't like a hard push. We delayed video forever because voice only is convenient. that once we turn video on. But that said, grateful we did. I am very excited for the future
and what's to come for the show, but we've got some work to do to grow our numbers on the video
platforms and YouTube is the focus, at least until we kick off LinkedIn live streaming.
You might think I'm joking, but very serious.
LinkedIn, here we come.
That is the next frontier.
But we've got to get to 500 subs on YouTube first.
So before we start talking about how dating apps will increase your B2B closing skills on LinkedIn, we are pushing towards 500 subs over on YouTube.
Happy Friday again to everyone.
I appreciate Joey jumping up.
We have probably around the nine o'clock hour,
we'll do that Community Member of the Month announcement in our BZ Claw Pool.
Not sure if we're going to be doing the Claw Pool live.
We may just send the, it's $250 pass.
In addition to that, in addition to that,
not only are we going to be awarding a big
pool with some incredible grails
to our community member of the month,
BZ team has stepped up and been very
generous with some
very nice discount codes. I think we've
got five really nice discount
codes we'll give away to those
who want to
check out BZ. You know what? I should go
grab a ref link.
I don't think I'm not,
I'm logging into the wrong account,
but I'm going to go,
I'm going to go grab the one I have
and I will,
wrong wallet,
but you know what?
I'll pump my personal numbers
on this one today.
So I'm going to shill
my own personal BZ ref link.
Get signed up on BZ
if you're not already.
And I guess,
how should we pick?
We've got Payday discussed. We've got decided how we're going to pick our community member of the
month. Like I said, if you want to be in the running for that, you need to be subbed over
on YouTube. Joey, how should we pick the five winners of the discount code? I want to make
sure you use them. So whether we say comment the chat or repost the space, say, yeah, I'd love the discount code,
want to make sure
that you're going to use it.
You don't have, I mean, at least the one claw pool.
But Joey, any ideas or suggestions
on how we pick the five winners
for the five
discount codes for BZ?
Yeah, I think they should have to post
their favorite Pokemon.
Post your favorite Pokemon gift in the purple pill in the bottom right.
And anybody who posts their favorite Pokemon gift can be entered into a chance for the five discount codes.
Great, great call.
Yep, it's 30th anniversary for Pokemon.
I think they're launching a new game today, it sounds like.
Interestingly enough, it's 30th anniversary for Pokemon. I think they're launching a new game today, it sounds like. Interestingly enough, it's World Pokemon Day,
but it's actually the 30th anniversary of Pocket Monsters.
So today, in 1996, the Game Boy,
they released two games, Red and Green?
Red and Green, was it? Yeah. Pocket Monsters, Red and Green. Red and Green, was it?
Pocket Monsters Red and Green for Game Boy
on this date in 1996.
And then the TCG for Pocket Monsters
came later that year in October.
And then Pokemon, as we know it today,
launched in America in actually 1999.
So the Red and Green Pocket pocket monster game on game that
was the first introduction of the ip am i following my tracking correctly yeah february 27th 1996
they released pocket monsters red and green for game boy that's that's the 30th anniversary today
today i learned i actually thought the tcg game came first and then the
games came later i did not realize it got introduced with the games and i did hear is it
they're bringing back the red and green games on the switch and switch to today is that right
i believe so yeah i believe they're uh you're going to be able to play that they're i don't
know if they're remakes i haven't done a ton of reasons I don't know if it's like a remake or if it's just
like not a remake
but like a
you know when they take old games and then
bring them up to new
day technology so I don't know if it's like that
kind of version or if it's
just new versions of red and green but yeah
October 20th
1996 was when
the Pocket Monsters TCG came out.
And then they ended up switching the brand
from Pocket Monsters to Pokemon,
which is kind of like,
they combined Pocket and Monster into one word
as they believed it would be much more
unique and brandable.
And then in 1999 is when we got what we have today,
the first edition base set,
which are all those crazy expensive cards you see going out for auctions.
Very cool.
I appreciate the education.
if you couldn't tell,
not deep in the Pokemon streets,
I actually do have a Pokemon card courtesy of BZ.
It is a 2023 Japanese Pokemon 151 Master Ball Flare On.
It's actually not even mine.
Someone is due this card.
I was awaiting a wallet.
If that's you, hit me up now.
But for the time being, it is in my BZ account because it needs
to get shipped out. We're going to talk about death and taxes here in a bit. Thanks for sharing
that. Pretty fire once you got there. And a lot to get into this morning. A lot to get into.
We are going to do the giveaway. I wanted to make sure everyone
was aware of that.
Follow Joey's advice. If you want to get those
discount codes, be sure to
drop your favorite Pokemon gift
in the X spaces. I do see
over on Abstract, we got
shoutouts over there.
Diego saying his favorite Pokemon is Eevee
and all the evolutions.
Appreciate you commenting in the abstract chat,
as well as MeshMash, Thomas, Teacher Katie, Beepic,
all the legends over there, the abstract legends.
But if you want to get in on the chance to win one of these BZ discount codes,
please drop a Get Your Favorite Pokemon GIF in the Spaces chat,
because that's just where we're going to be picking the winner from.
So hit the hit
the purple pill in the bottom and you can go continue to watch your stream wherever you choose
whether that's x video abstract or uh or youtube but as far as the giveaway goes we're going to be
pulling those out of the x spaces commentors um not the video but the X audio spaces, comments, drop your favorite Pokemon GIF.
Great suggestion, Joey.
That said, we've got a lot to get into here this morning.
Markets taking, you know, I don't know what happened this morning.
We're going to blame Jane Street again.
But it is, in addition to Pokemon Day, we've got, you know, the, I don't know, actually.
I did see there's like $8.7 billion in Bitcoin and ETH options that expired this morning.
Not sure if that's what's leading to this sell-off this morning or if something else there.
We also had Anthropic telling the Department of War to find a new vendor.
While it seems imminent, war is loading from, I don't know, a lot of comments,
not just the U.S., but China and Israel and people telling their employees
or their constituents to leave or bunker down.
It doesn't look great.
Probably, it's going to be another interesting weekend, would be my guess.
We may not see anything before 4.35 o'clock when markets close, but sounds like, I mean, the polymarket odds are still, it's now up to 17 a war expert. I'm not a geopolitical expert. I'm not really, I mean,
I would consider myself a small box retail
and franchising expert.
And I now would consider myself a spaces host expert.
But that's about the extent of it.
That said, I do think the macro stuff
is absolutely, has an impact on markets
and therefore worth the mention.
We're also going to talk about this AI Armageddon,
which might have been kicked off by Jack Dorsey yesterday, if you missed it, is laying off 40%
of the workforce at Block and attributing a lot of that to AI. I don't think it's Armageddon.
I do think it is also, I think we'll see the snowball start taking off now. I think it's Armageddon. I do think it is also, I think we'll see the snowball start
taking off now. I think you're going to see a lot of other, not just publicly traded companies,
but in particular publicly traded companies, S&P companies. This is the largest layoff in history
for an S&P 500 company by, not by number of employees, but by the percentage of employees.
number of employees, but by the percentage of employees. And while that seems extreme,
I also think it's good reason to believe that Block was bloated and they overhired. Jack actually
came out and admitted this following some pushback or some people saying he overhired
during COVID. And he said that's true so actually
let's just jump into that real quick i'll i'll do the there was a couple other quote open topics
i was going to talk about sunny mf and styles uh but if you football fans miss the combine just go
it's it's mind-blowing it is absolutely mind-blowing i'm not going to go into details
or show any clips but if you are a football, or if you're just a fan of athletes, athletes are getting freakish, like literally freakish.
It was a defensive tackle who weighs like 300 pounds and at a higher vertical than Bronny James.
There is, you know, Sonny Stiles is a linebacker.
He's 255 pounds and he basically performed better at the combine than like Calvin
His measurables were so off the charts.
They're comparing him to one of the greatest wide receivers of all time
because there's no other linebackers are even close to his.
I think he's already measured 244.
I think it's what he measured at the combine.
just absolutely.
It is pretty impressive.
He's not the only one, but he scored a 10, uh, Just absolutely bonkers. It is pretty impressive.
He's not the only one, but he scored a 10 RAS,
a relative athletic score,
something that's been measured since, I think, 1987.
And basically the most athletic linebacker,
the highest RAS score out of over 3,200 of them measured.
And it's just wild.
Also, the other court-open topic I had was my guard dog. Didn't he run like a 4-4-8 or something?
Faster than
CeeDee Lamb, who is an all-pro wide
And he got 6-5. It's nuts.
Absolutely bananas. So if you're a sports fan,
yes, I'm a Buckeye, a little bit biased, but
they're saying he might go now between pick 2
and 7, which is wild for a linebacker.
Usually the linebackers do not go that high because it's not a high value position like offensive linemen or
quarterbacks but anyways uh sports fans go go have fun with the combine today i'm deep i think i'm
over 70 maybe 75 drafts deep already in best ball season it's my favorite activity to do while
walking my dog and um getting excited because i think I'm plus EV once again,
and I'm really excited about some of the players I've scooped up at deep value
that I think will fly up draft boards once people start talking about how,
you know, the athletes they are and where they're going to get drafted,
et cetera, et cetera.
Anyways, more on that at a later date.
And if you're curious about my guard dog, Duke,
who's not really a guard dog,
but he acts like one when people come.
I think he almost gave the pool guy a heart attack yesterday.
Duke is very mild-mannered.
He just loves people, loves dogs.
We'll be walking and other dogs will lose their mind.
And he just remains calm, cool, collected.
Doesn't even bark.
He rarely ever barks until someone comes to the house
that knocks on the
door. It's not supposed to be there. Like he loses his mind at like Amazon or UPS drivers.
And yesterday the pool guy came and he was outside and pool guy's like, Whoa, he's like,
I rarely get intimidated by dogs, but Whoa. And, um, you know, hair stands up on the back of his
head and he just, he, he looks vicious. And, um, you know, as soon as I told him to chill,
he chilled. And then, then um pool guy was cool
he's like can i bring him a treat next time like yeah but uh then for like the next half hour duke
just patrolled the perimeter like uh he is um not i didn't train him to be a dr dog but those
instincts kick in and i was uh you know proud dog dad moment yesterday uh so yeah if you ever
thinking about trying to wrench attack me know that that any crypto stuff related is in the safe next to the Glock.
And I have a dog that will tear your face off if you're not welcome here.
Now that I've got that out of the way, GM everyone, happy Friday.
And let's talk about AI doom and gloom.
It's not really doom and gloom, but I think I might actually do a long-form post
on this later today. It's not my normal... Maybe we'll get a clip here from this morning's show,
and then I'll add a long-form take to this because it is worth commenting on. It is
going to have ripple effects, I believe. This is the post from Jack yesterday. I'm not going to
read the whole thing in detail, but you can see, so we're making blocks smaller today. Here's my note
to the company. They are cutting nearly half the organization from over 10,000 people to under
6,000, 4,000 people being asked to leave or enter into consultation. He says it'll be straight about
what's happening and why. First off, if you're one of the people affected, we're not making a
decision because we're in trouble.
Our business is strong.
Gross profit continues to grow.
We continue to serve more and more customers
and profitability is improving.
But something has changed.
We've already seen the intelligence tools
we're creating and using
paired with smaller and flatter teams
are enabling a new way of working,
which fundamentally changes
what it means to build and run a company.
It's accelerating rapidly.
I agree with all that.
That said, I think Jack is an incredible entrepreneur.
I'm not sure he's the greatest CEO, but I think he's an incredible entrepreneur.
From Twitter to, I mean, he created this app that we're on today.
From Twitter to Square to Cash App, which both of those now combine to be Block,
which is part of what he said, the layoffs.
I'm paraphrasing here, but part of it was,
yeah, they had a team at Square,
they had a team at Cash App,
they combined the two and they had overlap.
Yes, all that to be true.
I'm not disputing any of that.
I also think there was likely a lot of bloat
and overhired through COVID and
the merger of the two companies. And I believe, it's my opinion, but I believe this is a lot,
if not the majority of large corporations, at least in America. You're familiar with,
you talk about S&P 500 or corporate America. Extremely, in many cases, extremely inefficient, extremely bureaucratic,
and a lot of bloat. I've felt for a while that there's just positions are fringe,
pointless positions, more so than pointless people. I shared this in the worm as well, that
it's unfortunate because a lot of, I think a lot of good people are
going to end up getting laid off over the next six to 18 months because their positions aren't
necessary. And unfortunately, a lot of management in corporate America are the more of the, I don't
want to say useless, but useless people. And the doers are going to get laid off because their position isn't as
important. It can be automated now with AI. All that to be said, I don't think it's doom and
gloom for all. I do think this is going to start the snowball effect. While you could say, oh, well, did Elon do this with X?
Yes, he did.
Another company of Jack's, it was bloated and inefficient or not as efficient as it could be, we'll say.
And that's, I mean, proven now.
The app, while we may have frustrations and it's not perfect, it's being run with a fraction.
It'd be a very, very small fraction of the amount of employees that it once had.
And for all intents and purposes,
it's basically the same app.
It stays on.
It doesn't, you know, yeah,
Spaces goes down every once in a while,
but that is a niche feature on this app.
Anyways, I think this AI boom is now going to,
not only given an air cover and an excuse
for these corporations laying off people.
These publicly traded companies, they have a fiduciary responsibility to their shareholders,
and they need to increase earnings.
Not only did, you know, immediately following this layoff, the block share price stock exploded up like 20%,
like straight line, god candle.
It's hard for me to envision a future where other companies don't make similar.
Now, is it going to be 40% of the workforce? I don't think so.
But I think this is, they're now not only are, and maybe CEOs have known this for a while,
they've had too many positions, but they don't want to be the bad people by mass layoffs.
I think now they're going to get pressure from shareholders because you're going to
see a lot of other companies do this, claiming AI can automate something.
And they're right.
It's just, it's going to be really interesting how this transpires.
I think some probably end up laying off the wrong people.
I think those people then go on to start their own ventures.
And while many may talk about the AI Armageddon,
the optimist in me thinks,
I think this actually leads to a massive boom.
It's not going to be the industrial revolution.
I think it's going to be the entrepreneurial revolution.
I think it's going to lead to a massive boom
in new startups, small, medium businesses that are going to,
I mean, it's not me saying this,
look at some of the, look at like the Coinbases of the world, look at the tethers of the world.
These companies that are bigger than Block in terms of like market cap and do, and have
less employees already. Like this is, the world has changed and you don't need 10,000 employees to do what Block's doing.
You don't need 80,000 employees in a lot of these corporations. And I think what that leads to,
hopefully, is not just mass unemployment, but a massive boom in new startups, new small-meaning businesses.
When I say small-meaning businesses, some of these might be one, two-employee-type businesses.
And that's exciting. I want to be empathetic to those that are impacted by this,
might be impacted by this. My actionable advice, and we'll move on with this, would be
start learning skills. Start embracing this technology, use it every day, start a side hustle. The best time to build something is when you have a job, when you have income coming in,
you know, versus having to have the stress and pressure of having to, you know, eat what you
kill. It's a good time to start exploring other things that you're passionate about.
Anything from a restaurant to a
dog poop scooping business sorry zane for the competition i just think there is a you know
i've said if you've been here you've heard me talking beat the drum for a while now on experiential
retail and how i think that anything in that world is going to be increasingly in demand as more things.
I mean, picture a world where there is 10, 20% of people unemployed.
They're probably not just going to sit at home.
They're going to get out.
They're going to interact with other human beings.
And I think it's big for experiential retail.
I think it is big for things that right now the robots can't replace.
Thomas adds, just wait until Amazon really starts to replace some jobs with AI,
other than AI robots running most of the warehouses.
This thing is going to happen in phases.
I just think even if you're what you do, if you're in a job somewhere,
I think even if what you do isn't directly impacted by
AI today, it's likely that directly or indirectly, it impacts almost every role
in a lot of large corporations. And instead of waiting until you get a pink slip,
start experimenting out, start chasing a passion, start a side hustle. I know time is limited and it's easier said than done, but at the minimum, start using the skills. Start making yourself more valuable for that company because you are automating yourself. and another guest, another, we'll say a counterpart.
And straight up said, you know, the goal is for Payne to automate his full job this year.
And if and when that happens, Payne's not getting let go.
It's, it probably gets a bonus, probably gets a raise.
Probably, you know, it's like we,
it allows us to be more efficient and do more
than the spending the time he spends today on the
tasks for the day-to-day tasks for producing the show.
And I think, you know, because pain is helping automate his role,
he becomes increasingly valuable as a team member.
And I'm just, I'm not, I know for a fact,
I'm not the only one thinking this. And I think a lot of those people,
those, I need to come up with that word,
those useless employees in management roles in a lot of those people, those, I need to come up with a better word, those useless employees in management roles in a lot of these large corporations.
Well, some of them embrace AI.
Yeah, sure.
A lot of them won't.
And a lot of those managers, especially mid-level managers in these large corporations, they're going to need people on their team that understand how to prompt, understand how to vibe code and build
things with this. It's a tool. It's not going to control. Today's version of AI is not going to
take control and eliminate everything yet. It is a great tool. It is a great resource,
and it can help you 10x your output.
Von Frant says, I wouldn't be surprised if we see increases in unemployment, whether it's actual AI or because AI is used as an excuse.
That's what I was saying earlier.
I wholeheartedly agree.
It's incredible air cover for these large corporations.
It's so much so I would even go a little step further and say they're going to have pressure to do it.
Even if they weren't already thinking this, even if they were like, hey, we need to cut some of our workforce because we're bloated, they're going to get pressure from shareholders and see other competitors do it.
They're now going to be, even if they weren't thinking about layoffs, they're not going to
be forced to think about layoffs because others are doing it. So yeah, I do think it is a excuse,
if we want to call it that.
I also don't think it's as doom and gloom as the timeline would like you to think, but it's, it's definitely not business as usual.
Things are definitely changing.
It's going to change very fast.
And I think you're in,
it's in your best interest to get ahead of it,
regardless of what you do and a few other comments here.
And then we'll keep things moving into a market update
and some other news of the day. Zonko adds, bad companies are firing great workers due to AI.
Good companies are sending out company-wide memos asking everyone if they want to join the AI task
force, learning implementations. Bad employees ignore AI, good employees try to find a way to
make themselves more valuable. Wholeheartedly agree. Great take there.
And we're going to see more of that as well.
I did see – actually, I saw – Mike, I saw that post.
I did not realize it was from Daniel of Daniel Got Hits.
I mean, he's doing very, very fine.
speak. He's, he's went viral a few times in the more in like the real estate world now,
I'm not – who am I to speak? He's went viral a few times in the – more in like the real estate world now.
but it is, it just drives home that sometimes the, the human face to me, I gets lost on the
timeline. I not saying you got to go rock up an FTPFP, but even like Mike, Mike has his,
it's his jacket is boarded by club jacket. I know that's Mike. Daniel, I followed forever.
I actually gave Daniel a Starbucks gift card at NFT NYC 2, I think, or I mean, ApeFest 2.
And like a year later, he still had it.
And, you know, it was a connection point.
He had blue hair at the time.
So I know Daniel.
I think he's a great account.
He's like a mix between a shit poster and good takes or good shares.
But I did not realize that was him who had shared it because, again, he had changed.
He's went to Daniel as his name and went away from – it's just a human face as his PFP.
Dort, thanks for the shout on the hoodie.
I've kept it in pretty good shape.
My daily grinder is the blue Bobby 100s one.
I wear that to the gym and the sauna sauna and so it is not as good shape i also have a backup one of these uh in the um in the uh in the storage bin
i may actually bust out my my og black board api club hat i have two of them one has basically
turned brown and white i've even got a black felt pin i've colored it in uh to try to extend it a
little bit but it is um it's it's i need to retire it it's time to get it's little bit, but I need to retire it.
It's time to pull the backup out of storage
and start rocking that one.
John Farton followed it up with,
and I agree a thousand percent
to start building something with AI now
with tools like OpenClaw, CloudCowork,
Perplexi Computer, Notion Agents.
You'll be surprised how much you can automate
that requires very little human oversight.
I wholeheartedly agree.
I also wonder if OpenAI is regretting
their open claw acquisition,
if they did in fact pay a billion dollars for that
now that we've seen perplexity and clawed co-work
that are, I mean, I don't know, do you really,
unless you really truly desire to have that,
your own local system, do you really need OpenClaw today? As many of the others can do those
same tasks. Yeah, the OG OG hat, I need another OG hoodie someday.
Yeah, my, yeah, one is not, it does not look okay, but the other one I'm
going to, I'm going to break out.
I may, um, if I can fight it, I may do that this weekend and we'll, we'll rock it on.
Uh, we'll rock it on Monday.
Otis, am I a bad person for researching ways to replace people?
I don't like at work.
Not, not at all.
I think you should.
I think not only should you replace inefficient employees, I think if there aren't a cultural
fit and if they're employees, your employees, you don't like them, you don't like hanging around them, yeah, replace them. You're not
going to have those issues with a bot, with an AI agent. And as someone who's employed
probably thousands of people, I don't know, I mean, not concurrent, my peak was maybe
just slightly over 100 at any one time.
I, because I like people and everyone to lay anyone off. I, I times kept people around longer
than I should have. And it always ended bad. And, and ultimately they, we ended up partnering
with them anyways. So yeah, I think if, if you don't like someone, uh, easier to get rid of them
now than ever before, and you can use AI as an excuse. Good, bad, or indifferent.
I'm just calling it like it is.
I think a lot of corporations, a lot of HR managers, maybe not HR managers, but a lot of corporations, a lot of CEOs will use AI as an out to reduce their workforce.
Let's see.
Drew always has some great advice.
I did see Adam Whitzman got hacked.
Good reminder to if someone's talking about some new token or it's,
I'm guessing this was part of,
I don't know if they use Nano Banana or two that just got,
that just dropped or one of the other AI platforms.
But yesterday, Adam Weitzman, he, I guess Twitter got hacked.
They even then posted, he put, the hacker posted a picture of Adam that looked exactly like Adam with a piece of paper that said, I'm not hacked.
He was hacked.
They just, they made it with AI.
Drew, I know that's what you came to talk about, but always appreciate your insight on security and the space at large at GM.
Was that what brought you up or anything else on your mind this morning?
No, there's two things. I'll comment on both though.
I was just going to say on your comment on like automation, you know,
from my web two experience, which I still do,
the manager of managers thing has got to go. I mean,
I'm seeing a lot of tech organizations start doing like a flat structure.
Everyone just reports to the VP and it's like 10 times more productive.
And then the other part, which is actually hilarious, you were talking about Amazon and Amazon warehouses and human versus robots.
Amazon currently cannot automate some of their biggest distribution centers, like the biggest
distribution centers by volume, because it is so inefficient that they cannot figure out a way how to transition to robots.
So they have to rely on people until they can figure that out, which I think just highlights everything that we're talking about here.
And which is why every single time a company gives AI access to its code, the only thing that they can do, which we saw again,
half with AWS is just to delete the thing and restart from scratch because
we're humans and we don't do stuff as beautifully as AI, which is, uh,
I just think it's like, it's so funny.
It's like we outsmart the AI in such a way that you wouldn't think because it
is just so unbelievably inefficient or like too dumb for the
AI to understand, which is fascinating. That is fascinating. Pretty wild. What a time to be live,
man. I struggle with this because I'm like giddy. I'm extremely excited. I've been looking forward to Singularity for over a decade, and we're getting close.
And I understand how concerning it might be for many people that are employed and don't know what they're going to do next.
I share that concern with – I have an 18-year-old daughter, and I don't know what to tell her to major in college.
And I'm not going to tell her like, go, go to school, meet people, network, develop your social
skills. You learn some additional responsibility. She's getting her first oil change by herself
today. And I know that may seem like minor, but I just always been there to do it for her or with
her. And, you know, it's like, Hey, don's like, hey, don't get suckered into an upsell.
You don't need a new air cabin filter.
Maybe a wild example, but college teaches that sort of stuff.
You're forced to be independent.
And I am, while I don't think a college degree is any sort of guarantee, I mean, it hasn't
been for decades.
It's certainly not a guarantee for success or a job nowadays, but I still think it's important. Not for all. You could go the different route. Honestly, many have been saying this for a while, but if you really want a guaranteed job and not being a lot of debt and get income, the trade skills route is probably the way to go,
whether you're an electrician or plumber.
Will robots someday maybe replace that?
Probably, but I think you're probably five to 10 years out
and maybe even longer.
A lot of the white-color jobs may not exist in four years.
This isn't doom or gloom.
It's just baked in reality.
It's things are changing very, very fast and lean into something that is AI
immune, or at least, at least, you know, there's some sort of mitigation, uh, from the robots
taking your role, your, your role, not, uh, not needed. Anyways. Um, go ahead, Joey,
get back in here. Joey, you're on mute still. I see the hand, but you're on mute. Um, the good
news is why we wait for Joey to work his mute button. Um, you are, you're not late is the good thing, Diego. I still truly believe that you're still early.
And if you feel sidelined, that's okay. Just don't be feeling sidelined a year from now.
Get started now. Do something this weekend. If nothing else, I'm also cognizant
if you're worried about your job and your income changing, you don't want to just rack up a bunch
of subscriptions, but get one of the $20 subscriptions. Go get, whether you chat GBT
or quad, do one of the $20 a month subscriptions and just experiment, play around.
Like you don't have to say, oh, I'm going to go vibe code this website or vibe code this app this weekend.
I haven't, quote unquote, built anything with AI yet.
Now, I use it every day, though.
I've automated some tasks.
It now helps with our daily docket, our show topics.
It's not perfect. And it's still got a ways to go.
It looks like X has given us some issues. Drew,
I saw your hand up and it dropped you back to listener. Joey,
I see you back up again. If this doesn't work,
you might have to take a lap, leave the room, come back and we will.
So I've taken,
I've taken three laps and cleared my cash and tried to join on
the computer too. And nothing's working.
X heard me that I was, uh,
I was given X flowers for having 37 employees and still fully functional.
And, um, uh, you know, the, the, just the karma out there says, says,
hold, hold my beer. Like you, you, you, you could use,
you could use 370 employees,
at least I kid. Uh, but Joey, it does seem to be working out. So we'll go to Joey and then we get
drew back in here. Yeah, real quick. So I know this is going to be a really hot take when you
were talking about like college, but, uh, you know, having, having gone to college from when I
was 18 to 22 and then I went back like in my late twenties. I, I, I honestly don't think, I honestly don't
believe 18 year olds should go to college. I really don't. Um, they, they're not there to
ask them to spend the time of time and money on college when they really have no idea what they
want to do with their life at that point. It's kind of crazy. Like go out,
you know, they used to, they, when I was younger, they would call it a gap year,
right. But go out, get a job, get an internship, try some shit. Um, and go to college at 20,
19, 21, right. Like go experience some like different jobs and, and industries before you jump into college debt and
be like, I'm going to get a degree in engineering. And then you never end up doing anything in
engineering. And I know most people are like, Oh, that's crazy. And, but there's a lot of places
where you don't go like there's, there's countries where you don't go to straight to college. You go
to military service first, and then you go to, you get to go to college after. And so I just don't think 18-year-olds or 19-year-olds or 20-year-olds are capable of making decisions on what they want to do for the rest of their life.
I agree with that.
I would push back on the whole, like, whether it's 18 or 19 or 20, probably half those 160 other.
What I would agree with is I don't think you should go in three,
$400,000 of debt without knowing what you're going to do with that education.
But you don't, you don't have to go drop a hundred grand a year on college.
Yes. Is it expensive? Yes.
But there's also ways to go get that experience.
And I think that maybe I'm wrong. I don't know if there's any real direct substitute
for the growth and maturation you get as a human, as a young adult that you get when you go to
college. Maybe my college experience was very unique. I don't know. But I think...
I would agree with you.
I just, I think that you you should be you should
think twice before you incur unfortunately my daughter is not going to be incurring debt you
know between a we live in florida florida is a very good state for college education i think this
is just me to be saying this i live here it's it's there's there's facts and data to support this
that i think i saw something the other day like 70 can't be right, but I think I saw 76% of graduates come out with no debt of college in Florida.
It's just a very economical state to go to college.
The state schools are good.
We have the bright futures.
If you go to high school in the state of Florida and there's different requirements, so above a 3.0, above a 3.5, et cetera,
you qualify for the Bright Futures scholarship. And the Bright Futures scholarship,
depending on which level, pays for 75% or 100% of any state school, which are things like UCF,
FSU, UF, FAU, FIU, like all these amazing schools, and it gets paid for by the state.
Yep. Yep. So I don't think the college degree is important. I say this having dropped out of
school 15 credit hours shy of my degree, and it's never held me back from anything.
So I'm biased in that regard. But I do think the college experience is important.
It's valuable in, um, or as could be trade schools, right? Like, I think there's a lot of ways I just,
I, I would, I'm, I've encouraged my kids to go to college without it, but it not saying,
oh, this is your key to success in life. Like, oh, go get your degree and you're set for life.
They've never once heard that for me. In fact, they've heard the opposite, but I would
much rather them do that than go just take a job that they don't love, they're not passionate about,
but yet they're waiting tables or bartending and making money without any eyes on their future and also not necessarily developing, you know, that it's
not even social. I mean, I'm struggling for a word for it, but like growth and maturation as,
as an, as a young adult, like it's, it is, um, I guess if anything, if you're not going to go to
school, you know, yeah, maybe, maybe it is just jump right into the workforce, but go do so in a different country.
Travel the world.
If you're going to be a server,
nothing against that.
Go do it somewhere where you're getting out of your comfort zone a little bit.
Instead of just living at home
and having your parents pay for everything,
get out and take on some added responsibility.
Let's get Drew back in here,
and then we'll get Felix to take on this.
And then I do need to get into
at least a little high-level market update. We also have to talk about Magic
Eden and them sunsetting both ordinals, which was shocking as well as EVM NFTs. I wasn't surprised
to see the EVM side, but I was a little surprised to see them sunsetting ordinals support, which
kind of, I mean, I know it was Solana first, but Ordinals really did, I felt anyways,
kind of keep the lights on over there for a while.
But true, go ahead, and then we'll get Felix in here.
Come on, X. There we go.
Yeah, I was just going to say on the Atom stuff,
good reminder for everyone to make sure your X is secured up.
If you're not sure, let me know,
but always triple check different platforms with everything.
That was probably some of the worst AI-generated attempts I've ever seen,
especially if someone did get access to Adam's account.
That was, yeah, thank gosh it wasn't worse.
The AI picture was pretty good, even the words I'm not hacked
it was weak in the body
it was actually real pictures
from like a year ago that he posted
and then they just copy pasted
that into AI
and added the picture
with the horrible AI text
I'm not hacked
I was like what the fuck is this
yeah it was a weak attempt fortunately horrible AI text. I'm not hacked. Like that's, that was the, I was like, what the fuck is this?
It was a weak attempt.
fortunately,
but a good reminder,
I use a YubiKey for securing my X is my,
YubiKey is my,
my two factor authentication on X.
Do you have,
is that good?
Is there a better recommendation,
What would you recommend for everyone securing their X?
What's the.
Yeah, I would say top five quick things. So if you have a phone number on your account remove it
right now uh i don't care if you use a phone number as two of a or not having a phone number
on there is a risk like i know but can you explain why for those like why why would that be a risk
uh sim swapping uh super simple very easy to do um i can print out a driver's license or have a picture of it
and say I forgot my license
and the rep in the Verizon store
AT&T store does not care
whatsoever
of course there's supposed to be security parameters in place
but it happens all the time
they don't give a crap
maybe someday we'll be replaced by AI
but some of them will be
but yeah, they don't care or maybe they do care maybe someday we'll be replaced by AI, a kid, but some of them will be.
But yeah, they don't care.
Or maybe they do care,
but they're going to get social engineered easier than you are.
So yeah, don't, don't, don't
get, that's great advice. Get your phone
number removed from your X account to mitigate
the SIM swap attack. Go ahead.
And then I would, yeah,
definitely recommend at least an authentic area,
but better yet a UbiKey.
A UbiKey is similar to a ledger.
So it's like a physical key that you actually need to use to tap the back of your phone or to plug in and touch with your finger.
So someone can't get in without that.
And then once you have that set up, either the Authenticator app or UbiKey, and then once you remove your phone number, it's really important to make sure you note down your backup codes.
Your backup codes are one-time use codes.
If someone does get that, they can bypass your 2FA.
The whole point of that is, let's say that you have a YubiKey, your YubiKey breaks or
you lose it.
Your backup code is your only way to bypass 2FA to get back in to set up an additional
So that is like very crucial.
Same thing with like a seed phrase, don't store that online. Don't put that in notes. Don't take a picture of it. Same exact
stuff. And then some other quick things I would just make sure to check on the X account.
I don't know when's the last time everyone went through and checked their connected apps,
checked their sessions, checked their delegate. Connected apps is a big one.
A lot of those can get compromised or, you know, for all you social five folks in here,
if you haven't gone in there and disconnected the apps, you know, I'm sure we're going to see something very soon
where some of them likely are going to get compromised.
And then it's going to have a mass posting out to a bunch of profiles and that and emails like very simple emails.
That is literally what has gotten probably 10 major people's compromise X account in the last
two weeks. We saw, I'm not saying this is what happened to Adam. I also saw Tiffany Fong,
also saw three of the other major projects over on the Solana side, one on the
abstract side, and then a few others. And it's literally just an email impersonating X saying
that there's a legal review, you're violating their policy, you have to confirm here, it's a
fake login page. And just check the from email. Like literally if you just check what is from,
you'll identify it. That stops 97% of spam, scam emails
because it's just some bonk, fake email address.
Great advice.
You're getting me a little bit of anxiety attack
because now that you started saying that,
I don't know if I know what my backup code is.
You can go to the 2FA part
within your security settings. If you go to the 2FA part within your security settings.
So if you go to security, make sure there that you have password reset protect enabled.
And then when you go to your two-factor authentication, your backup code is at the bottom.
So I always recommend go ahead and cycle it and then note down the new one.
And then it's very important to understand as well, if you ever change your password,
whichever one should definitely change your password pretty frequently, put a reminder
on your phone because even I forget a lot of times, your backup code is going to cycle.
And backup codes are on a per platform basis. So you have backup codes for your Gmail,
you have backup codes for your Discord, and you have backup codes for your X.
Good, good advice. YubiKey, if you've never seen one, just this little key.
You can plug it into
your USB-C,
button on it,
you've got to hold it and touch it.
It also works on mobile.
But yeah, it's $40-ish
maybe, and
yeah, just don't lose it.
Or if you do, like you know like Drew said make sure
you cycle that backup code
Drew do you have a thread on this
Diego says we need a thread on this info cap
have you you would be better
yeah I can post one
up let me find it yeah I thought I'd seen
one from you before on this exact topic so
good call out Diego appreciate you asking
and yeah give us a minute here and Drew
will grab that and put it up top on the X audio spaces.
Thomas adds, I change mine every three months
because I have to do so for work reasons.
Probably a good take there as well.
And Payne adds, you should have two YubiKeys.
Yeah, I actually do recommend two YubiKeys.
You can actually add both if you want or just have one as a backup. The reason why I say two YubiKeys. You can actually add both if you want or just have one as a backup.
The reason why I say two YubiKeys is because typically it takes about 10 to 14 business days for a new YubiKey to show up.
So if you don't have a backup immediately, gosh forbid something happens and this does happen, you spill water on it,
someone literally has ran it over with their car, they're pretty much unsecure for about 10 or 14 days
with their account essentially having no 2FA.
And you can also just have a second there as well. So it's just a good
backup secondary plan. He wondered if you agree. Drew does agree. Great
take from Producer Payne. Well, good ad there, I guess.
I don't know i now that i think
about i think i probably saw like a buy two get or buy one get one free or something maybe maybe
that wasn't it was probably ledger or something but anyways um on my uh on my to-do list on my
task list get another get a backup yubikee uh felix gm welcome to the stage what brought you
up this morning yeah i'm jim how's it going hope you're well uh yeah i just wanted to uh share some thoughts on
on your topic earlier about you know ai and uh college going to college or not i think like
one of the biggest benefits of going to college or like learning a trade or just like educational
stuff that you do after school uh like mostly the, let's say, secondary effects of it, which AI cannot replace at all
and probably won't ever be able to, which is meeting people,
making connections, growing your network, because this is what,
you know, these real life encounters are the things that
really bring you forward also in the future, like building
relationships, right, like showing up, meeting people, all that stuff, going to conferences, meetups. And so like the campus is
the perfect place for this, you know? Maybe, you know, you end up working in a startup like I'm
doing. I'm a solo co-founder now. I might, you know, go to a co-working space to meet people that I can work from home.
But like, it's so valuable to actually see people, meet people.
These are the things that move the needle, you know, down the line in the future, like
all these connections and the friends, I guess you make along the way, which is for me also
like in this industry, crypto, it's one of the biggest benefits of like doors opening up not
because I have on-chain activity necessarily but also because I'm able to meet people in real life
they would have never met otherwise you know so and I'm I think this is something I will never be
able to replace you know so and people might have more time for these things in the future because I can automate most of your tasks maybe as well.
Yep, yep. Good take. I agree.
And thanks for coming up and sharing. Greatly appreciated.
I am, bear with me here, I'm doing a new style of screen share.
So I may fumble this once or twice, but I wanted to hard pivot right into
a daily market update. But before I do that, Hans W, thank you very much for the Pingyu tip.
Very generous, sir. Made my Friday. Oh, I missed the PPI data. Was it perfect timing for going
into market update? I missed it. That came out this morning. Crypto scam, thanks for the heads up.
How was the print?
What sort of PPI data did we get?
That would have hit about 24 minutes ago.
If it's good info, he says, watch for a snap reversal back up.
Looking not quite snap yet.
On the 24-hour clock, Bitcoin down 2.5% to 66.
ETH lost 2K. It's down 5% of the day.
XRP down 4% of the day. BNB down 2%. Solana down 5% to 83. Doge down 4%. Cardano down 3%.
Pretty red day across the board for the coins. But I wonder, I will go do a quick share on, let's see what our lovely report said
this morning. And it looks like final demand moved down 0.3% in January, driven largely by a 2.7%
drop in energy price with gasoline falling 5.5%.
Year-over-year remained at 3%, indicating ongoing, though moderate, inflationary pressure from producers.
Key PPI data includes, as I mentioned, that final demand decreased 0.3%.
Annual change is plus 3%, not seasonally adjusted.
Key drivers, as I mentioned, significant declines in energy, gasoline in particular,
and food prices, specifically eggs, were partially offset by a 0.7% increase in goods,
excluding food and energy services versus goods.
Again, final demand goods saw a notable 0.3% decrease in January.
I don't know if anyone has any deeper takes on that, but it doesn't appear to be market. I guess maybe it's bouncing a little bit. Just pulling up a quick
chart here. Maybe a little bit of a bounce, but nothing major as of yet.
So we shall see.
It will be...
Go ahead, Drew, get in here,
and then we'll take it over to the NFT market update.
More things to talk about on the NFT side, surprisingly.
But yeah, thoughts on inflation or macro conditions?
I was just going to say, I don't know why I won't let me pin that post at the top.
I got to drop here.
I would love to comment on the Magic Eden situation.
There's actually a lot to unfold there.
Okay, let's –
But I appreciate it as always.
Do you need to get out of here now or do you got to –
Yeah, yeah, I got to drop it right now.
We'll appreciate you joining us.
Thanks for the alpha.
And I will see if I can find that post and maybe drop it in the comments
and I'll pin it up top if it won't let you pin it.
Yeah, just put it right in the comments.
I think it's just X bugging.
Awesome, man.
Appreciate you as always.
No, thank you, sir.
Greatly appreciated.
And yeah, if you're not following Drew, go give him a follow.
It's NFT underscore Drew with two W's, D-R-E-W-W.
And always bringing some great advice and takes on how to protect yourself.
Uh, I got it pinned up top here. What are backup codes, uh, should hit the Jumbotron
in a few seconds. Thanks again for the help there. Um, let's do this. Let me go over to NFT land. And yeah, we are. Thanks for the reminder, Beepic. If you want to get in the running for this $250 BZ Claw Pool, $250 Claw Pool, which the prices there are actually much, I mean, it's incredible, some incredible grails. You're
talking the average value right now is $284 for this TCG Gold Claw Pool, where the grail item is
almost 10 grand. The grail item is a 1999 first edition Blastoise number two PSA 9 valued at $9,444. So while it is a $250
prize, that $250 prize could turn into a little over nine grand if you pull the Chase item.
And it's not just that Blastoise, there is several other prizes prizes in that claw that or that uh claw machine that are uh
you know several thousand dollars so appreciate again bz for uh supporting our community member
of the month in february and we'll be drawing that winner soon in addition to the yeah everything
should be in your dms too already oh cool awesome uh in addition to the 250 claw pool uh the tcg claw pool there is uh we've got five discount
codes if you want to get you get in the running for one of those discount codes just go to the
x audio spaces chat hit that purple pill in the bottom right and drop your favorite pokemon gif
to get in the running for one of those five bz discount codes here is it's 50% of the five codes are 50% off the silver
claw. So that's the $50 claw for $25. Locking in a lot, that's a plus EV pulled in for sure.
And, and the silver is also, you know, also no, no, no joke. I i mean there's some some really nice grails in that as well
uh top one right now is this almost two thousand dollars it's a 2021 fusion strike
ginger uh it's a pokemon what is it let me see it's the uh g-e-n-g-a-r v-max oh the gengar the
2021 pokemon uh gengar V-Max Fusion Strike.
I can see Zane just shaking
his head at my mispronunciation
of Gengar.
It took me a long time
to get the pronunciations correctly, and I would
get made fun of all the time.
Perfect. I don't feel alone then. But yeah, almost
two grand. There's a few others that are
like $1,800.
So this is for a 50% off.
I thought we were getting
20% off discount code.
Even better, 50% off.
Five of those 50% off codes to get
in the silver claw pool.
Drop your favorite Pokemon
gift in the X audio
spaces chat. Ginger. Yeah, I called it Gingerphonic.
I don't know.
G-E-N-G-a-r i know it's spelled
differently but gin gin gar uh anyways we're gonna go we're gonna shift gear so i can stop
making a fool of myself uh one of these days that's actually that's might be what i do this
weekend i might forget duolingo which another stock that just cratered fought once people
realize you could have ai code the same thing and teach you how to speak in other languages.
I may have,
I might vibe code this weekend,
how to correctly pronounce Pokemon characters.
That's my,
I'm adding that to my tax list.
I'm kind of joking,
but I may,
I may just do that for the bit.
That'd be kind of funny.
Like for people that that'd be cool.
I want to see you do it.
Like Duolingo for Pokemon.
Uh, wealth creator said that is literally his favorite art card in Pokemon.
Uh, G like gorilla says be epic. Be epic also asked, am I vibe coding anything?
No, I've not vibe coded actually anything yet.
I'm not quote unquote building anything with AI, but I do use it.
And like some examples I mentioned, you're like, it helps with the, but I do use it. And like some examples I mentioned, like it helps with the daily docket.
So now like my go-tos for like trending topics and news of the day, it's still B-Check snapshot.
It's Tyler did it and his daily update and Claude co-work is the others. And it gives me a, whereas
B-Check and Tyler, most of the time they hit the topics that I see on X. Like our algorithms are
pretty the same. So maybe there's like a nugget or two that I take out of one of theirs, or there's
a different spin on it that helps out when I'm preparing topics of the day. The quad co-work,
while it does scan X as well, it is, you know, like today, for example, the $8.72 billion in
options that expired today,
I probably would have missed that if it wasn't for Cloud Cowork.
topic two, Magic Eden
shutters Bitcoin and EVM marketplaces,
full Solana retreat.
To give you an idea,
here's the tease, Magic Eden
wants the multi-chain NFT marketplace
betting on Bitcoin and Ornals, Ethereum, and Polygon
is shutting all of it down. The multi-chain
wallet gone, it's Solana or nothing
and the timing could not be more telling.
So, you know, it's not perfect
by any means, but it is another
resource, it's another tool
that I've just, just this week we started
using Claude Cowork for that.
But things like proposals
and SOWs and
invoices, things that, you know, used to have an invoicing software paid at 10, 20 bucks a month for, gone.
Used to spend time building decks and it still spends some time and it's still like, you still need the human driving of this stuff and a little bit of back and forth.
But it is a, it's just a tremendous enhancer in terms of output
and efficiencies. So yeah, while I'm not vibe coding per se yet, I do use it and it's helped
in our day to day. And I kept making excuses. Part of the reason I haven't vibe coded or built
anything yet is kind of waiting or thinking about what's, what's that next venture.
Dobbins actually adds, I've been using Claude to learn Spanish on the side,
making podcasts, flashcards, a textbook, and conversations back and forth. Was going to take
a class, but this is just as good in his opinion. Rest in peace, Duolingo. Dobbins, if you don't
mind adding to that, I'm curious, how are you doing that? Is it prompting you daily or throughout
the day? Because I've done a I mean, I, cause I've,
I've done a little bit of the same also learning some extra Spanish,
but it's not, it's just definitely not, I'm not, I,
there's more I could do on the vibe coding portion of that versus more
conversational stuff. And shout out to Grok.
I've been talking in Spanish to my car while I drive. Because Grok, and it actually has, there's a translation,
you know, like how in ChatBTPT, if you're familiar,
you can choose, create an image.
Like you can choose the model in English layman terms.
In Grok, you can, one of the options is translator.
And yeah, I just, if I'm driving,
or the car is driving me by myself, I will, I will, you know, I'm learning some Spanish as I go.
Coke, minted poke.mon on Monad. Good to see there's at least a one person using Monad. It's a joke, but I'm kind of serious.
It's a joke, but I'm kind of serious.
And Iceman, is the badly drawn berry, is that mint still happening?
Do you need a allow list?
I was following along, but then I missed it.
But I would like to, speaking of TCGs, I would like to go grab one of those if I can.
Let me know.
Drop a link to that mint if you don't mind it.
I would appreciate it.
And I'm going to go pin this BZ post up top now.
Joey, thanks for sharing that.
Talking about the 30th anniversary.
That's why they built BZ for collectors still chasing hits.
Now you can pull from anywhere.
Quote tweet with your favorite Pokemon and why.
Ten of our favorites get a free claw pull.
So multiple ways to get a free claw pull today.
Here on Coffee with Captain,
you can win a $250, our Community Member of the Month is getting a $250 BZ Claw pool for their
gold TCG machine. And five people who just comment in the chat with your favorite Pokemon gift,
five of you are going to get a 50% off. Please only do that if you're going to... So it's going
to be a $25 spend, essentially. You will spend $25 on a $50 claw machine.
The average value is $55.
I'm looking at recent pulls, and the lowest pull is $27.
So it is plus EV.
I can't even find one that's less than $25.
There's 26.
So at 50% off on that $50 machine, you are at minimum, it appears, guaranteeing yourself like a $1 to $2 profit at minimum with the upside of a $1,900 Grail chase item, an $1,800 pull, an $1,100 pull.
So it is – but I'd ask you to don't participate if you're not going to at least load $25 over there to actually pull the claw.
I want to make sure those five discounted codes
go to people who want to participate over there.
All that being said,
going to fly through some NFT updates,
market updates here.
And this will take us into Magic Eden.
And if anyone has any thoughts
on this big move from Magic Eden,
feel free to drop your comments,
questions in the chat,
or throw in a request to join us up here on stage.
And I will, Joey, after I do this market update,
because I want to talk death and taxes in the citizens.
I should have hit on this.
It caught my attention.
I should have talked about it a few days ago.
I feel bad because I didn't,
because it's up 32% of the day.
It's the big winner.
I'll set a DX terminal, which is an open seat farm.
It's up 50% of the day.
Punks are actually up 2%.
Pudgies, flat, 4.48 VFriends, flat at 1.24.
Mutants, down a percent to 0.9. Normies, up 6.9% to 0.3. Quirkies, we said that the Quirkies,
Good Vibes Club, and Mutants were on the race to one ETH, unless they pulled back a little bit.
I don't think they've hit it yet, but it seems inevitable. 0.99 ETH for Quirkies, up another 1.9% of the day.
Literally brick by brick over there.
They continue that grind up and love to see it as they continue to build.
And once again, it gives me an opportunity to shill royalties.
Quirkies was one of the first that moved to a royalty-protected collection,
royalty-protected contract, rather.
And it is a – I do not think it's a coincidence
that Good Vibes Club and Quirky's and these newer mints that are on royalty protected contracts
are the ones that are winning in terms of floor price. Del Mondo's royalty protected contract,
albeit maybe a little rich at 10%. And they're pulling back slightly at down 19% of the day to
0.08, but it's still a still vibrant community
over there. Moonbird's down 3.4% to 1.44. I missed the last Burb game. I need to either
participate or sell my Burb. Actually, let's go check that real quick because I have not
kept up with the price of Burb. One of those, I got distracted by other things and it is
current market cap is 45 million FDV at one 59. So the market
makers looks like they took their day off and no longer held the 200 million FDV. Uh, such is life.
Uh, the, you know, apes are flat at six ETH ladies flat at 1.4. Good vibes come down a percent to
0.87 and a me bits up 1% to 0.4 that,4 that that me bits football meant they just had is a minute out
pretty quickly it is i saw it's live over another side now and i think more coming wow ethos
validators up 76% of the day to 3.1 eth was there an announcement there did serpent come out with
something new for um ethos validators three up 76% of the day is a pretty large jump for
something that was already trading multiple ETH. Congrats to Serpent and team and all the
validator holders over there. All that being said, because I know we got other things we need to get
into, and I do want to talk a little bit about death and taxes. This was one of the newer mints.
as one of the newer mints.
And I dig the art.
I've seen a lot of people,
you know, Dork, no surprise,
got in this collection early.
My other friend, actually college roommate,
Ramsey, Ramsey Boy,
I saw him bullposting this
and I asked a question in the chat.
I told Dork, I think I saw Ramsey in this.
He said, yeah, I've been staring at the collection for the last 36 hours. This is, you know,
modest as the artist and some cool mechanics here. I'm going to show the website and talk
about some of those mechanics in a bit, but you, I don't know how to describe this. It's like an art collector's collection. A lot of individuals that are maybe deep in art blocks
or the OG NFT art.
I've seen a lot of people that are deep in OG NFT art,
bullposting death and taxes,
and a lot of respect for the artist.
It's unique.
You can see I've got some of the NFTs pulled up here.
It's up 30% of the day, 0.038 ETH.
I'm going to at least get one.
I might get a couple,
but know what you're getting into.
It's gamified.
And this is also why I'm going to get a couple.
Like, this is the art.
It's cool.
It's different.
It's not like, oh, I got to go collect this art
and vault it in my collection forever.
I do like the art.
It's different.
It took inspiration from many other iconic artists in digital art. And I am all about game theory and doing more with the art than just
having art. And that's absolutely what they've done here. It's on 48 ETH in volume in the last
day, 126 ETH volume total. It is, the supply is 6969 and it's not
the best distribution yet. So while that could go both ways, it could absolutely send it because
I do think a good chunk of the holders are collectors and maybe some whales,
so I don't think they're looking for a 0.01 ETH flip. But it's also, you know, 11% unique isn't great, but it is,
this is what got me most excited. I'll share this tab here. This should be coming through
this bright yellow. This is there. It's just death, I'm sorry, department of tax. So D-E-P-T
of death dot X-Y-Z. I'll pin a post for Modest, the artist up top here in a second.
This is where it gets interesting. And I'm going to read here. I'll do my best to talk about the game principles, the simulation
model. But the initial proposal says, death in taxes is an on-chain survival game. 10,000 citizens
enter the chain and only the last 100 get a call to survival. The rules are simple and mean. Every
24 hours, you pay a small tax and eat to keep your citizen NFT alive. Those taxes pour into our
central treasury, miss a payment because you forgot, because you're broke, because you are someone, because you made sure you would not make it and
your citizen got burned for good. Your claim does not vanish. It gets redistributed to the ones
still breathing. In this economy, death is yield. As the population collapses, the reward for the
remaining high council grows faster and faster, like gravity finally doing its job. But this is
not just a money game. It's politics with teeth. Citizens are not equal here. You have commoners, bureaucrats, and the
exempt, little on-chain aristocrats with cleaner hands and better odds. If you want to outlast the
purge, you do not just stack ETH, you build factions, guilds, and backroom deals. Then you
weaponize the contract. I don't know what all this means, but I'm in. Like, I don't know what it
means, but I'm already intrigued just by reading this.
Like I said, I wish I would have dove in a little deeper early on, but it's, again, .0380th.
It's not run away from us yet.
It goes on to say, you vote in predatory tax laws that crush specific classes.
You pull funds to launch audits, expensive targeted attacks that shrink a rival's payment window until they slip and disappear.
expensive targeted attacks that shrink a rival's payment window until they slip and disappear.
Death in taxes turns holding into a contract sport, alliance, betrayal, and the quiet math
of who gets to make it past the walls. The game principles, and I believe the game kicks off
March 3rd, so you get a little bit of time between now and then. Also,
while I'm talking about this, if you have an end to Modus, I think we follow each other,
but I will shoot a DM after the show. I would love to get on early next week to
do a proper deep dive
and talk more
about why I'm moving to Sweden.
Von Fronten.
Blame Von Fronten for that distraction
pain. It's not my fault.
Sweden's on my list this summer
though. Serious. Sweden,
well, Switzerland and Sweden both.
Switzerland for Art Bas basel and then i
guess since i'm over there may as well hit up sweden to compete uh game principles luck should
play a small role speculation is a feature not a bug fees should be small but real whales cannot
ruin gameplay for others the mechanics need to be simple leave room for magic there must be ways
for chaos to be added by us classes matter but do not give outside advantages. People should not leave the game
empty-handed. The prize pool for the winner should be substantial.
Simulation model. Most NFT
ecosystems are analyzed through price charts and liquidity metrics.
Very few are modeled
as bounded populations
with behavioral heterogeneity
This is about as hard to pronounce as a Pokemon
character. Under compounding
fiscal stress. Purpose. Stress test a closed NFT population under escalating tax pressures.
Model adversarial enforcement where agents police each other, observe emergent elimination dynamics, study survival curves under stochastic behavior.
Examine how trait distribution influences systematic collapse.
And then model definition, discrete-timed agent-based stochastic elimination model with beta-distributed behavioral traits and linear fiscal escalation.
There are 6969 agents.
The system runs until only 69 remain.
Elimination occur exclusively through enforcement failure during audits.
Population is partitioned with 65 common, 25% bureaucrat, 10% wealthy.
Classes only affect audit through capacity.
There is no class mobility, no reproduction,
no entry, and no exit beyond elimination. This is a closed, finite population system.
Each behavioral slider, it goes on and on. I'm going to pin this up top. Again, I don't
fully understand it. I know there's some insurance. I know there's more to it.
They said keep it simple. It's not simple. That would be my only pushback, but I dig it. I'm all for game theory. It gets me
I want to play.
I want to play the game. I think I probably need multiple
to play the game.
Yeah, salute to
Modest for doing
something new. Greatly appreciated
I'm here for it.
I wish I would have amended these or swept a few early on, but if I'm here for it. Like I said, I wish I would have amended these
or swept a few early on.
But if I'm going to sit here and talk about new things on chain
and experimenting,
and this is one that certainly is checking some of those boxes,
let me go grab, I think it's just M-O-D-E-S-T.
Yes, M-0-D-E-S-T.
I was looking for, there was a thread on the take here.
I will pin that up top and then we will move on.
Here we go.
I have no idea what that was.
This pinned post up top, you can also check that out.
It says Town Hall Chat and Procurement are live.
And it also links, well, you've got Modus' official account and then the official link to the site.
Again, maybe there's nothing here.
Maybe no one's talking about it in a week or two.
But I'm enjoying it, excited to learn more.
I see Ansel's wanting to come up.
We're having some issues with X here.
I'm going to try to add you again, Ansel.
If this doesn't work, take a quick lap.
Maybe force close the app and try to go back.
But is that...
I'm going to briefly pause.
Is that a...
It's still just the connection spinning.
I'm not sure if you can hear me or not, but it...
Oh, it looks like it got through.
Ansel, GM.
Is that a modest... is that a death in Texas
NFT PFP there? No, it isn't.
Do you want to join the conversation or
something else brought you up this morning? No, no, no. I'm just listening.
Okay. Thanks for jumping up.
Joey, thoughts on Magic Eden?
We're going to maybe have more on death and taxes next week,
but any thoughts on Magic Eden?
I'll pull up the announcement here momentarily.
Yeah, I mean, we were, what was it two years ago, year and a half ago when we
were talking about how, you know, the things they were doing at magic Eden and like they were,
they were going to, they were pushing past open C and open C, you know, wasn't improving and
adding features and magic Eden was doing all this stuff and you know their
token was coming and and it was and now it's all gone like it's crazy that like who's gonna compete
does open sea even have a competitor at this point like or like is it i remember multiple times where you said that
you know open c you know had a whatever whatever used to say 21 to 3 lead and you know and magic
eden had passed them and it just it's it's crazy to think that open c is it right matt like what
other marketplace do we have now with magic eden sun setting everything yeah great question if you
were going to go trade nft today uh If you were going to go trade NFT today,
if you were going to go trade an Ethereum NFT today,
where would you go other than OpenSea?
I mean, I don't think there is one.
I mean, they bought the other one years ago.
What else is left?
I mean, I still like the Mintify team,
and that is the badge I have courtesy here
to get the premium access on X.
They're an aggregator, and it's fine.
They do have campaigns and stuff going over there as well, but especially with the OpenSea TGE coming, I think, man, the timing is very, I guess, good in OpenSea's favor because I also do fully expect – I don't know this. I don't have any insight. I don't know if they've announced it, but I fully do expect OpenSea to launch both Ordinals launches Solana NFTs, it might be over for Magic Eden. Yes, Unvaulted,
They do have campaigns and stuff going over there as well,
but especially with the OpenSea TGE coming,
when they launch their... Yes, Unvaulted is a sponsor. We're actually going to be featuring
one of their builders once a week here coming up soon. If you missed it, I'll go grab in a minute,
I'll grab the interview we had with Ernest and Aaron earlier this week.
Perfect timing for Unvault as well.
People need to go multi-chain, move these NFTs.
Door is opened for what they're building at Unvault.
It's much more than just a marketplace,
especially when we're talking about protective royalties.
And that's what got me so excited about what they're building is making it easy for teams and collections
to move to a royalty protected contract.
And when you add the marketplace in with this, this move from Magic Eden sunsetting,
and it's not, I think it's bigger. I did pin the, there's a post up top from DGN News that
links that BlockSpace article. I think it is much bigger than just sunsetting EVM NFTs and ordinals.
I think it's the beginning of the end.
I think it is like all you got left Solana NFTs.
I love Klaino's.
Mad Lad's doing some cool stuff with their backpack and giving away equity.
As soon as OpenSea launches Solana NFTs,
I just think the end is near for Magic Eden.
I don't know.
Maybe I'm wrong.. Maybe I'm wrong.
I hope I'm wrong.
Maybe they pivot into something else.
I know they're kind of doing some BZS stuff with pack rips.
And I actually like a lot of the team members over there.
And I'm not rooting for their demise.
I just, keeping it real and commenting on what I see happening in the space, I'm shocked that they would be
sunsets. I wonder why. Was it that expensive to maintain ordinals and EVM NFTs? I guess so.
But I'm shocked that they would sunset, especially ordinals where
felt like they had a real edge there. That was something that a lot of other places didn't have.
And maybe it was just too expensive to keep those lights on. I saw an idiot came up an
idiot. I'm going to hand it to you. And then Joey, do you mind if an idiot's done, do you mind
taking over until I'm going to run to refill the coffee for the home stretch and I'll be right back.
But an idiot GM, welcome to the stage. What brought you up?
GM captain, you really need a coffee pot in your office brother um does nobody use blur anymore i never use blur genuine question i i abstain from blur i was like i don't know high
on my own farts and morals back in the day and i didn't like the effect that it had on all my
favorite nft project floors but is blur still a thing and and what assets are tradable there
other than just dfts it's still i i mean i blur still exists i just don't think i just think oh
what with what open c has done with adding in the tokens the cross chain like i i minted
something the other day uh what did i mint the other day the oh the arena pack thing
where it was on avax and you needed avax i didn't have to go get any AVAX. I just minted it with what I had in my wallet already, which was ETH.
I just think that what they've built on OpenSea, it's better.
The UI, the UX, everything's just better.
No, I agree.
And with everybody, obviously, there's the TGE of ticker C coming.
So if you're going to do volume on an NFT platform,
you're just obviously going to do it there.
Why wouldn't you?
So, yeah, I mean, I don't know.
I think Magic Eden just, you know,
the reality of NFT volume as a standalone asset class
is that the volume is just so low already.
And then you get as niche as Solana NFTs and ordinals,
which is the only thing that people can't do on OpenSea.
There's just not enough there to sustain.
I mean, I don't blame them for Sunset and all of this.
It'd be interesting to see when OpenSea does integrate Solana, if they'll integrate ordinals as well at some point.
Because, I mean, I never really touched ordinals, but it does seem like if there was going to be another run on digital, you know, on-chain collectibles, I don't know why ordinals wouldn't be included in that.
Yeah, I agree.
And I also have a confession real quick.
Yeah, I did refill my coffee.
You're right, I could use a coffee pot in the office.
However, the real reason I take a break like I could go another
30 minutes without a coffee I just since I'm stepping
away I go ahead and refill it it's I used
to call it a mobile stream drop but we don't do the stream drops anymore
here as they sunsetted
unceremoniously
sorry for everyone who played that game and did not get a TGE
I too was a little disappointed
but I had to take
a quick pee break and I just feel it sounds better
on air to say I need to go refill my coffee then it's like i need to go take a quick piss
uh but thank you for the air cover i appreciate it and great call out on blur and i had used blur
i haven't for a while and yeah but to answer your question doesn't look like many people are using
blur anymore um per you don't need to but you don't need to use blur because OpenSea pulls all the blur listings over anyway.
Per NFT pulls, in the last 24 hours, there's been 23,000 buyers slash sellers of NFTs.
20,000 of those, or 85% have been on OpenSea 10% on Magic Eden
so Magic Eden still comes in at number 2 at 2.4 thousand
no other NFT marketplace is at more than 2%
Tinser which is 100% Solana
they've had 377 buyers
OKX as 239 buyers
that's mostly base, some ordinal volume
7% ETH and then then blur at less than 1%.
It's all 100% of it's been ETH and FT's only 199 buyers compared to 20,000 on OpenSea.
Pretty, pretty wild. Now, I do think some of these numbers are a little bit inflated.
If you look at 65% of the volume is on base,
I believe a good chunk of those,
this isn't a shot at OpenSea, just
I do believe a good chunk of that volume
Voyage Hunters
or Farmers.
The buyers of that DX Terminal
or whatever base NFT is the promo
of the day.
I just, I don't like,
if you're going to tell me what's the real percentage of buyers by,
of the bot NFTs last 24 hours,
unless I'm missing some game,
maybe, maybe it's busy.
I like beasts on base now.
So maybe I'm not being fair.
I just, I would not guess it's a 65% base,
28% ETH, 2% ape chain, 2% abstract, 1% polygon.
I think a large, a good chunk of the 65% base is probably those that are participating in the OpenSea Rewards program and completing a voyage there.
Maybe I'm wrong. I don't know. I should probably do a deeper dive, double tap on that a little bit.
But yeah, in the last, I mean, I'm just, I'm really surprised that they are,
because if you look at Ordinal's volume, Magic Eaton's at 38%, OKX is at 31%.
They had market share. They're just walking away from that. They weren't doing any EVM volume,
I guess. So whatever. I just, I'm really surprised. Like even their revenue in the last 24 hours,
like even their revenue of, uh, in the last 24 hours, marketplace trading revenue,
magicians generated basically 10 grand, 70% of that 7,000 of the 10 grand they generated is off
ordinals and they're sunsetting. Why? Like you're telling me it costs more than seven grand a day to
keep ordinals on. Like, I don't, I just don't get it. It makes no sense to me, but if I'm missing
something here, please, please help educate me because I really, I just doesn't, I just don't get it. It makes no sense to me. But if I'm missing something here, please help educate me because I really, I just don't understand it. It doesn't make any sense why they would walk away from something.
They're the market leader in. They are currently, unless they just like, hey, OpenSea is going to launch this, we're going to lose, and we're going to go ahead and bend the knee before they even go live. I just, I don't know, man. Wild to me. If you look at the last 30 days, it is a little different.
The volume is 78% Solana, 20% Ordinals. It's still 20% of the volume. They've had 33,000
buyers. 20% of those are Ordinals buyers. If you look at revenue, it is flip-flop. So in the last
24 hours, 70% Ordinals, 30% Solana, I do think a lot of that Ordinals has been, I don't know, maybe people selling their Ordinals because I saw another take about
Ordinals being down across the board. And maybe it's because of Magic Eden Sunsetting Ordinals,
I don't know. But if you look at the last month, last 30-day marketplace trading revenue,
OpenSea comes in at 68% of that, 77% of their volume is ETH. 9% base, supporting my
earlier take that I think probably a lot of the people flipping free NFTs on base to qualify for
voyages. Magic Eden, $202,000 in the last month. 66% Solana, 34% of their volume is ordinals.
$102,000 in the last month, 66% Solana, 34% of their volumes ordinals.
Tensor's 100% Solana, 18K, Rarible up there.
I mean, Blur doesn't even show up.
It goes Rarible and then Reservoir Tools, which I think is what Abstract uses.
It's like the bridge isn't the right word for it.
Do you think that, because I keep hearing that Magic Eden is just going to become like a casino or something.
This is like the rumor that I keep seeing in the back channels.
Do you think that like maybe they just intend to sunset all of the NFT stuff?
Maybe even including the Solana stuff eventually?
Like maybe right now it just doesn't make sense to sunset that.
But they may even sunset that as well in the future once all this is available on OpenSea,
at which point they're just kind of nuking their entire,
all of their team members on the digital collectible side of things.
Yeah, I think you're probably on to something there.
Even still, I'm surprised why Sunset Ordinals now.
Why not just wait until you also sunset?
If you get out of NFT marketplace altogether,
D-Raph says
Magic Eden is pivoting to Dicey.
I'm guessing that's casino
platform. I'm not certain, but
if D-Raph does any other additional
info you could add on that. But yeah, I think you're probably
right. I think they're probably pivoting out of the NFT
marketplace, I guess. That's the only thing that makes
sense. It still doesn't make sense why they would do it now,
but the only thing that makes sense is they're going to hard pivot completely out of NFT marketplace would do, I guess. That's the only thing that makes sense. It still doesn't make sense why they would do it now. But the only thing that makes sense is they're going to hard
pivot completely out of NFT marketplace. Girl in the verse, GM, always a pleasure. It's been too
long. Hope you're doing well. Excited to hear what you have to say on this. Good morning.
Hey, guys. Yeah, I took a little break, went to Central America, and I'm back in the snow.
Yeah, no, I really, thank you so much for having me, Cap. I wanted to come up because
one of my questions here is if they're going to sunset NFTs, I really like the Magic Eden wallet
in terms of like accepting crypto, swapping stuff. Does that have anything to do with my
ordinals? Because they do say EVM. So does that also mean like ETH NFT?
Like I'm just,
I'm trying to figure out
if I have to just move everything off
to like another wallet completely
or are we just jumping the gun?
And all this to say,
we didn't say-
They're sun setting the wallet too, right?
Yeah, I would move all of your stuff.
I don't know when that's happening,
but that's what I heard as well
is that they're sun setting the wallet as well.
See, this is what i wanted to know because um the way the way everyone's you know copy pasting the news it just sounds like it's nfts but if it's wallet as well then then yeah i'm gonna have to
make some moves this weekend do you guys recommend i know a lot of americans are on coinbase any other
wallets you guys recommend i mean i, I use Rabi and Phantom.
Yeah, I would.
We did get confirmation they are killing the wallet eventually.
I don't think it's going to happen immediately.
But I would not pay to say this.
I am a big fan of Rabi.
I've went Rabi almost exclusively now.
Phantom for Solana stuff.
But yeah, anything EVM, anything ETH, I'm all in on rabbi can you do now is that a
no i use i use x-verse for my ordinals and bitcoin stuff i use x-verse and then
i have phantom which i use for all my solana stuff and then rabbi for all my evm stuff
but you can use phantom but you can use Phantom for EVM.
Because Phantom is cross-chain.
But I just, I use,
I've used X-Verse.
Yeah, X-Verse is great.
I don't know if any other,
if there are any Bitcoin,
I don't know if you can do Bitcoin
in any of the other,
like the Phantoms and stuff like that.
Oh, but I'm even talking about like,
you know, where you're holding your soul.
Like what I loved about the Magic Eden wallet was that I could do all of that there because I was heavy into ordinals and runes.
So I just think I need to go back to the basics.
Go back to phantom.
No, thank you guys for that because the way I was reading it, I just assumed, okay, it's just NFTs.
Doesn't mean anything for the wallet,
but they're going to sunset the wallet.
Then I got to start making some moves.
At least now.
I try to find a day,
a day or time when they're going to sunset that I wouldn't be shocked if
it's like imminent,
defi addict says,
she'd been going downhill ever since the unauthorized development of the
Trump wallet. Then the API company sunsetted and magic Edenic says, Matt, she's been going downhill ever since the unauthorized development of the Trump wallet.
Then the API company Sunsetted and Magic Eden went to, they fell off.
No maintenance rarities are off.
Some collections don't even have images.
They have gone to complete trash.
I've not been over there.
I've not used it for a while.
But yeah, it doesn't, not great.
not great.
I do think,
I do think that
an idiot was probably right,
that they're probably moving towards
just pivoting, hard pivoting out of NFTs
would be my guess.
Hizzy does add,
MetaMask now does fully support Solana,
allowing users to hold so up.
And maybe I should give. Maybe I should give
MetaMask another try.
I full ported everything to Rabi when I
just... MetaMask stopped working for me.
Oh, Cap, I love MetaMask.
But I have the card now.
I can't stand it.
Look, I'll explain to you guys one thing. Y'all are in America.
I'm in Canada. My MetaMask
card has saved my life in
terms of running a business here and accepting crypto. And I'm able to. My MetaMask card has saved my life in terms of running a business here and accepting
crypto. And I'm able to go and do like, I can't get the Gemini card. I can't get certain cards.
The MetaMask card has completely changed my business here. So I'm talking like as an
international. I love it because people can send me money, send me crypto, and I could go and get groceries and go pay for gas.
And I couldn't do that before my MetaMask card.
I mean, I had the Crypto.com card, but it's kind of like a top-on, top-off type of thing.
Yeah, so I mean, I swear by my MetaMask card because of my situation, but you guys have more options.
So, you know, that helps.
I did see, because Mayhem just added that didn't realize you could get the metamask card here i also saw that they i think they just went at first
it was like a limited like it was only limited to select people or it was a smaller phase rollout
i think i just saw that it's now wide widespread like if you want exactly. For you guys. US.
Diablo 2 adds Magic Eden wasn't working anyways. This isn't news.
Couldn't list all kinds of issues.
So I guess maybe this is
why they sunset.
They made it to say, hey, we're not going
to put any more support into this. We're not going to invest
any more resources. And probably
then getting hit with some blowback, some, hey, more customer support issues. And
like, listen, we either need to get in or get out. And I guess I respect it. I still
am a little surprised that they get out of Ordinal so early when it doesn't seem, it
seemed like it still builds a material part of their business, but who might've say. Don Diablo adds here in Sweden can buy crypto and
Apple Pay directly in MetaMass. Pretty cool. Pretty cool. So, and Joey, I know you, I know
you dropped, but we do got to get into the call pool here. I'm going to do that momentarily. If
you're, if you're still out there, Joe, and you want to come back up, you're more than welcome.
Here's what we're going to do.
We've got the five discount codes.
This is Final Call.
So if you want to get one of these 50% off discount codes for a silver claw pull on BZ,
drop your favorite Pokemon GIF in the Spaces audio chat.
That purple pill in the bottom right.
Drop your favorite Pokemon GIF there.
We'll pick five winners.
For those winners, we're going to send the discount codes. So when you go to do your pull, in the claw,
there is a discount code. I'm going to, for our community member of the month, I'm going to do it
here on screen, and then I will send you the the prize let me do this before I do that because
I want to I want to give you a chance if you want to swap um I should have probably reached out to
this individual prior but we wanted to make sure we were um uh there was a couple finalists tough
decision this month we had several it was actually three finalists that were all active participants
over there on not just YouTube,
but X and maybe in some cases even abstract,
like really supporting us on all channels,
active in the chat all morning, not just dropping a GM,
but actively participating in the Coffee with Captain conversation,
often throughout the day.
Cannot make this up.
Our Community Member of the Month just dropped another comment in YouTube.
Otis, Otis Vineyard, congratulations.
February's Coffee with Captain Community Member of the Month.
Are you able to join the stage?
No obligations on the short notice,
like literally 30 seconds notice.
But if not join the stage,
can you, you're going to be on a slight delay.
If you can come up on the audio space,
the stage would be great so we don't have the delay.
But if not, are you able to give me a thumbs up or yeah, I can quickly respond in the chat?
Because when I do this poll, you'll have, I think, 60 seconds to decide whether you want to cash out.
You want to swap it for the cash value or you want to keep the poll.
He's going to grab some headphones and jump up on X.
Again, awesome.
Appreciate you joining us.
As soon as he gets up on stage here, we will do this pull.
I'm going to also mention one of our finalists because he just gave a big congrats.
Thomas, it was almost a deadlock tie.
Otis barely squeaked in.
I mean, both well-deserving.
But appreciate both of you over there.
You've really been pumping that YouTube chat for us this month.
Some of our OG subscribers.
And like I said, they're active throughout the show,
not just on YouTube, but also on X and in many platforms.
Diablito, you are also on the shortlist there
for our February Community Members of the Month.
Appreciate you all.
Not just those three.
There's so many incredible community members here that make the show
what it is each and every day.
This is actually
why we ended up going with
more. And here's what we'll do.
Thomas and Diabolito, you
both get one of those. I hope you dropped a
I hope you get a
Pokemon gift in the
spaces chat because I'm going to give both of you one of those
two of the five discount codes
for runner-up.
Because we were just talking about this pain. Yesterday we said
we were looking for someone who wants to sponsor a weekly prize
because we would like to give back
to more than just one of you a month.
For right now, it is a monthly
Otis jumping up now. Congratulations,
Otis. Thank you so much for all the support
of the show. It definitely has not gone unnoticed.
And while we had a few finalists and several deserving,
really you stood out this month in terms of active supporters and greatly
appreciate you all that you do, not just in the YouTube chat,
but supporting us on all channels and quite frankly throughout the day.
Congratulations and very well-deserved. Thanks for jumping up today.
Man, I appreciate that, Captain.
I got to thank you as well for all the work that you put in every morning.
I thought I'd jump over to YouTube and get some of the visual
because I know how many people listen on audio,
and that was me for, what, eight, ten months.
Jumped over to YouTube, and it's a completely different experience
being able to see you see what you're seeing and seeing some of the guests. So thanks for, uh,
kind of getting it out there and trying to get us to, uh, get involved a little bit.
Nope. Truly, truly my pleasure. Thank you very much. I appreciate all that you do. And I've got the code loaded. I'm going to go...
I hope I didn't mess something up there.
Yep. Cool. We're still applied. I went to go click to grab the ref code and thought I might
have nerfed the discount code for your call
pool here, but it's still there.
We're good.
I did pin it up top.
If you don't have a BZ account set up, why we do this, I would encourage you to go check
Whether you're going to get over there today with one of these discount codes or not, just
a great supporter and really appreciate them doing this for us.
Not a we've done a partnership with them in the past. We've done a sponsorship
with them in the past, but someone, one of the greats that really do value all their support.
I love what they're building and love to see them winning. Arguably the consumer app of
2026 thus far in all of crypto, just breaking record after breaking record over on base and
love to see it. Andrea and Pradek and Joey and the whole team over there
just continues to grind and very well-deserving to see the success they're having. That said,
let me share this screen here. And we are going to do this pull for Otis. Everyone send off,
you got good vibes to send Otis here to pull this grail and um do you have a do you are you leaning one way i
know it's going to depend on the card but are you leaning on a cash out you leaning on a you looking
to build a bz collection what are you thinking when it comes to uh or are you just going to wait
and see what you pull as far as what i i wish i had a a Pokemon collection. Like I'm seeing everybody flex these days.
I guess I got to start somewhere.
So this is probably going to be a keeper regardless.
But I also know that anything can happen.
So I'm not going to guess.
Anything can happen.
Your odds for a base pool is 74.6%.
That's anywhere from 130 to 250 in terms of value.
A common pull, you got 20% odds of hitting that.
It's 250 to 500.
An uncommon, you got 3%.
3.4%, it's 500 to 1,000.
A rare is 0.46% chance.
That's 1,000 to 1,500.
And then an ultra rare, you got a 0.68% chance
to pull into these ultra rares over 1,500 bucks.
Some of these top items here, you can see
the one I pulled up earlier, that Blastoise
is valued at $9,400.
Ancient Origins
Rayquazi is a
$5,500 value.
And then $4,000 value here is a
Pokemon Swish.
It's a 2021 Evolving
Skies Umbreon VMAX PSA 10 valued at $4,000. So when I
do this pull, it'll take a few seconds. You should be able to see the, actually now that you're on
space, maybe you won't see, but I will, I'll share what you pull for those that are over on YouTube
or X video or abstract, you will see the animation and then the pull, and then we'll have about 60
seconds to determine whether you want to, and no pressure, by all means. If you, if you like, I know you said
you're starting your, your Pokemon collection. If you pull the, the, you know, the chase item and
it's $9,400, uh, they will give you a offer to redeem to instant swap that. There's no pressure
to keep that. You can always, you can always cash out and then go do a bunch more pulls to start
building that collection. So please do whatever speaks to you.
If you want to keep the card, we'll send it over to you.
Otherwise, we'll send you whatever the swap amount is if you want to swap.
So you can see the last couple pulls.
Someone just a couple pulls ago pulled a $2,000 card.
The one right before was $2,60.
Everyone send your good vibes here to Otis to pull a
growl at him here. So good luck, Otis.
Good luck, good luck. We're going to start
the claw pull right now.
Should have had some music
bad here. a 2025 booster premium booster dawn card lucci psa 10 uh the swap value is 166
do you want to swap this do you want to i
it's a one piece it's a one piece okay i do know what one piece is if you're into anime
it's a psa 10 one piece uh we can send this card everybody to start your one piece. It's a one piece. Okay. I do know what one piece is. If you're into anime, it's a PSA 10 one piece. Uh, we can send this card over to you to start your one piece collection
or you can swap it and we'll send you the one 66 your call Otis. Take your time.
Ooh, I feel like I might anger some people, not the biggest anime guy. Uh, I might swap it and
I do have a BZ account so I can definitely get some more polls in over there and kind of see where it rolls to.
There you go.
You want to swap?
Yeah, we'll swap it.
So we can swap it.
If you want, you can then roll that into three more Silverclaw polls
and have an extra $16 left over.
We'll swap it now.
Do me a favor.
Actually, I'm going to DM you just so I make sure I get the right wallet
or right account and no one tries to scam you here.
And I'm just in the DM, DM me your wallet.
And I will send this 166 over to you as soon as we wrap up the show here.
I want to thank Joey as well.
I know he's, you know, one of those regulars that jumps in and fills in some of those gaps when, you know, those mobile stream drops come up. But yeah, I mean,
thanks to them for this platform too.
I know that they've been kind of growing over the last six months or so.
And that's one of those, those ones that you hear about and you're like,
okay, I've heard that, I've heard that.
And then you finally get on it and it's something you love.
So for a lot of people who have just kept hearing BZ over and over,
haven't gone over there, check it out.
Because the graphics when you did that, I was on YouTube.
And that was great.
That was better than just about anything else anyone's doing as far as these RWA digital crossover experiences.
Yeah, pretty cool, right?
Appreciate the kind words.
And congrats again.
Didn't pull the grail today but i i'm i'm rooting for you it ended up after the swap is 15604 uh so we'll send that
right over to you as soon as we wrap up the show and just do me a favor make sure you don't forget
dm me back your wallet address there i just shot you a dm so it should be top of your inbox
and um good luck on the, if you go
to the Silver Claw pools, good luck. I hope you do
get a good grail
chase item with that.
Nice pool. Good luck on your
other pools. And
Pain even adds, would have also swapped, even
though he likes the one piece.
166, not a bad Friday.
Congrats again. And
yeah, not the greatest result,
but nevertheless, greatly appreciate BZ,
greatly appreciate you.
And Champion of Vibes sent you all the good vibes as well.
And got a lot of love in the chat as well.
A lot of congrats and a lot of well-deserved.
So appreciate you.
Appreciate everyone who gave Otis some good vibes.
mentioned Thomas.
Let me write this down so
don't forget. Thomas
Diablito. And
we got three more to
choose from here
that win a
50% off. We're not going to do all those pools live on screen. I'm going to send you
the discount code and you'll see when you write below the start the claw pool,
there's a promo code there. You just type in that code and it'll knock off 50% of the
price before you do the, before you do the claw pull. A couple other items before we get out of
here, we will, we will cover in passing. But yeah, community member of the month rewards are go to
BZ's crushing it. BZ is crushing it. And as Payne mentioned, if anyone is listening in, or you know
anyone that would be interested in sponsoring a weekly member of the, or a weekly member of the community member of the week we would love to give back more uh
there is a abstract stream update today maybe maybe they're going to turn on the reverse tipping
and allow us to tip some uh some commenters and some participators uh that would be great we'd
love to see that uh doesn't look like we have a time and when that announcement comes out but we
are expecting they they're pumping it up pretty big. It should be a big new update over on Abstract for the Stream Wars. The Claw experience is the best out there.
Thomas, do me a favor, shoot me a DM because I just went to search your name on X and I can't
find it. I typed it in the same as it looks in YouTube and X search, as we know, is not the best, but I wasn't, my quick search was not able to find you on X.
So do me a favor, shoot me a quick DM.
I will verify that it's you before I send that code over.
But let me go pick our other three winners from the chat for the, well, coolchick, you win there.
Congrats for one of those three.
Appreciate it.
That was a great,
I had to get that out so I didn't forget.
So Coolchick, Diablito, Thomas,
some great longtime community members here each and every day.
Another one, because she's had a rough week with the kiddo, Mel is usually first in the Spaces chat, always supporting the show.
And one of the OGs here, Mel, we'll send you one of those discount codes as well.
Hopefully, you can hopefully know we'll pull a grail for you and you will make up a little bit for the rough week on the injury front playing sports.
And then last but not least, we've got one more winner to choose from the chat from those Pokemon gifts.
We're going to go to,
I'm just looking for my favorite gift here.
that was a good one,
you're not eligible for this one today.
good gift usage.
Otis also good gift usage,
but you've just,
you won the,
the big prize today.
Let's go GIF.
What's the best GIF here?
You know what?
Don Diablo, good GIF usage there.
You've been pretty active in the YouTube chat today as well.
Don Diablo, I'm going to send you a DM.
Please DM me your... Actually, you don't need to DM me your wallet.
I said this.
I was incorrect.
You don't need to DM me your wallet.
I will send you the code as soon as we get off the show.
So Thomas Diablito, Cool Chick, Mel, and Don Diablo,
thanks for playing today.
Appreciate all the support.
You're all the real ones.
And Otis, good luck on loading up your BZ with some extra.
Let us know how those pulls go.
Maybe check in Monday.
And yeah, I hope you do pull that.
It would be fitting for the 30th day anniversary.
I hope you pull a grail today.
That said, other...
Went to go get my last new diet news item in, in Vaughn front and really, um,
I can't, I can't disagree, but, um, really,
really pouring the distractions on hard today. Um,
my apologies to everyone else else can't even speak now. Um,
we're going to, we're going to do our best to get death and taxes on.
We're going to get, I mean, Modest, the creator of death and taxes.
Oh, there's an AMA tomorrow morning with Saigar at 10 a.m. regarding abstract.
So I wonder, are we still getting the abstract announcement today?
Or has that been punted tomorrow as well?
Beepic, let me know if the announcements have been delayed or we think we might get that.
Interesting.
Well, yes.
Okay, so we are getting to today still. Okay, awesome. Thanks, Katie.
Appreciate y'all.
Abstract announcement coming today and
an AMA tomorrow with Sygar.
Curious to see what they're going to do there over in the,
with the abstract streaming and excited to, you know,
hopefully see them level up there. We shared earlier, no, nothing imminent,
but we are going to look to expand our streaming platforms here soon and turn
on some new distribution channels. Mike, yeah, congrats, everyone.
Appreciate you participating.
Blue, great gift usage.
That was the gift that Cool Chick won hers with.
Just a little late to the draw there, but good gift usage.
And appreciate everyone who played along.
Creatress, you as well, runner-up.
And a lot of good gifts in the chat.
I think, does anyone know when that Pokemon livestream is?
I missed that.
Does anyone happen to see when the Pokemon livestream is?
Zane, if you're still listening.
in um i got the my daughter powered through the do not disturb so i'm i'm wondering if the
oil change is not going as planned uh we will see she's she's uh i do go do not disturb every show
she also knows that if she really needs me, she can call back-to-back,
and we'll power through that.
I'm going to bring Machiavelli up here.
I'm going to text my daughter back real quick
and let her know I will.
I'll call you in five.
Machiavelli, GM, what brought you up today?
Yo, the Pokemon live stream started
about the top of the hour.
It was about 22 minutes long
and it ended with the winds and wave announcement along with three new pokemon so oh it's uh yeah
it's all it's all out there so beyond new pokemon any other like big news uh we were right in
thinking that the two og games are going live on on uh, uh, yeah. Yep. All of that stuff.
They actually announced another game as well.
mega dimensions.
Pokedopia,
Pokedopia,
Pokemon Pokedopia,
which is like,
it looked like a Minecraft,
Pokemon builder.
other than that,
that's really all that really captivated
my attention, you know what I mean, as far as that goes.
They did two different looks for Pikachu for the new winds and waves,
and he looks like a boy in one, and he's dressed like a girl in the other.
Or maybe it is a girl Pikachu.
And yeah, that's it.
I appreciate you sharing. Thanks for the update.
Was there...
What was the new game?
Any like what sort of game?
Or what platforms?
Is it on Switch as well?
It's all on Switch.
Everything was all on Switch.
And then they said that everything's being...
All of the old Pokemon titles are being converted to go on the Poke platform.
Or something like that. platform or something like that.
There was something like that. Like, I don't, I don't, I'm not that deep into the Pokemon.
You know what I'm saying? I've just been following the story of the movies and the
cards, all that shit since it came out. So that was really, really about it. It's like
those games are being converted from the Nintendo, I'm sorry, the Game Boy Advance,
I'm sorry, the Game Boy Advance,
the Game Boy
or the GameCube,
and all of those titles are coming
here. Oh, yeah, on March,
March 5th is when Pokedopia starts.
March 5th. And then several other
things go live next week on Thursday.
Cool. Awesome. Well,
enjoy for all the Pokemon
enjoyers out there.
Might give me a reason to
explore a little deeper
in the ecosystem. If nothing else,
that is in the running for my first
VibeCoding app is the Pokemon
not translator, but
correct pronunciation.
We'll see. Also
Modest as well. DoorDads
like XCopy, Modest as well. Pretty Modest.
Undocs. Never notice them on a space.
Likely pseudonym for a known collector in the space.
Not sure who they are, but that's a running theory.
So probably won't get modest on the show,
but I am going to dive a little deeper
into death and taxes.
Probably going to play the game a little bit.
I'd like to collect a couple of those
so I can participate in what they're doing.
I am all for new experiments on chain. We could use more of
that. That's what I want to see for NFTs is let's do stuff with the tech. Let's do more than just
nothing wrong with digital art, but it can be digital art and this game theory, this simulation,
like this is, even if it doesn't resonate with me long-term,
I want to go see what they're building.
I want to participate, I want to support,
and I would love to see more artists, more...
And I say artists.
You don't have to be a talented artist,
physical or digital in today's world,
because AI can help.
And some may not like to hear that, but we were talking about the Normies collection, the pixel art collection,
that they got some slack because it was, you know, help generated with the help of AI,
but there's still more to it. It's more than just the art and also some game theory, also some
burning mechanisms and stuff involved. And that's what I would like to see more of on-chain
is this sort of activity where it's the art and something else to do with it.
Bring back game theory. Make us make tough decisions.
And it gets me excited.
Machiavelli, it would not be a Friday in having you on stage
if we didn't talk about Other Side, at least at a flyover.
I saw, I pinned up top the MeBits announcement
that they're live in OtherSide.
Yeah, the MeBits football, they did, they had them in out.
They minted this week, they minted 990 MeBits football players.
They're actually doing this series for all the teams
coming up for the World Cup.
And then, like, you know, Sargito had announced that miopolis is being reworked from the older version to the new
version and um you know they're they're gonna do this whole lineup they're having uh football
competitions right now in the other side and so um it's just like what it's cool what is the
football are you like playing a game of football oh yeah yeah we're playing soccer we're playing
soccer right there in the nexus we're playing there on Swamp.
Very cool.
You know, and there's a community run event on the weekends and they're going into their,
they're earning like their first season right now called Other Balls.
And it's like just, you know, community teams and stuff like that that play,
they do a little competition.
But other than that, I think you can expect something more official as far as like
uh the you know football or soccer goes later down the line um we we had started a nice little league
with the other games uh and we did the foxy fam soccer kits like right when the first soccer
pitch had started out we went but like it's something that like you have to wait for it
evolve now we have 150 collections in the other side gap amazing Amazing. Plus, you know what I'm saying?
And like the community is really, really growing week after week.
We had Frankie come in last week.
We're doing something with typical Tigers this week.
But I think that you guys are going to be pleasantly surprised with like, there's a lot of brands like lining up and doing their thing on the back end.
So I'm just excited about more communities being onboarded.
And like this hasn't really even begun to kick off yet.
It really hasn't. They're thinking about opening up the vibe coding world to the public this coming Monday.
Like there, you know, there was an announcement at the Board API Club meet at the clubhouse
yesterday. Figgy was talking about it. But, you know, the way they're leaning into agent API and
all these things, like, it's just, it's pretty fascinating. I'm excited to be a part of it and
hosting events and get to be a part of it and hosting events
and get to be part of the community and stuff like that and work with other sides so like
it's just it's been amazing you know what i'm saying it's a little surreal appreciate appreciate
sharing excited to see what comes with the vibe coding stuff the official me bits announcement
it says announcing me bits football cup we're we're seeding the prize pool with 10 me bits from
our treasury burn four avatars of the world champion country
and claim a me bit first come first serve after the final more contests and prizes later so

Appreciate BZ. Shout out so much for supporting us for our community member of the month. Otis,
appreciate you. Extremely well-deserved. Sending you to the best. I hope you end up pulling some
grails in those silver claw pulls if you do that.
Or cash out your $166 or $156 and go enjoy a nice lunch or dinner, courtesy of Beezy.
Appreciate everyone who joined us today.
An idiot, Machiavelli, Otis, Joey.
You're all great.
And girl in the verse, it was great hearing from you.
It's been too long.
Best of luck getting things migrated off of your Magic Eden wallet. But it doesn't seem like you got to do it immediately. But if you have things over there, probably don't delay too long. Friendly reminder, this is speaking to myself. Don't forget about migrating off of Nifty Gateway. I still have yet to do that. I've tried a few times and it's just ongoing tech issues. Can't get it to work.
I've tried a few times and it's just ongoing tech issues.
Can't get it to work.
It's not great.
Not great at all.
But because it's been difficult and it's not working like it should,
don't delay forever.
That said, enjoy your weekends.
Have a great Friday.
We'll be back Monday morning.
Got an exciting week lined up next week.
Some special interviews.
Some new sponsors are going to be kicking off.
And who knows, maybe someone hears this show
today and they say, hey, I'd like to be featured on
Coffee with Captain. We'll provide a
prize for the weekly
Community Member of the Month. For now, it's a monthly.
We'll do at least one more. I mean, we'll do
at least 12 this year.
So at minimum, we'll be picking another
Community Member of the Month for March. Potentially
up to a weekly
prize, but for now we potentially up to a weekly prize.
But for now, we're doing one a month.
And you definitely want to go hit that YouTube sub if you'd like to participate.
That said, as Steve would say, I hope you all have a wonderful, wonderful weekend, everyone. Thank you.
