the one who's been waiting for you.
Hello, Yoram. Let me put you as speaker. How are you doing?
Can you speak now? I cannot hear you.
Second. That's good. Let's just be and start. Keep on working. You can publish it maybe
in the message that we send to DeerApps. In any of them wants to join, Benji. Like with the video.
If anyone wants information, so they can join the space.
And you can say that we will also be later on at the Catarina for coffee. Um. Yes. Just checking
something.
Hello, Alex. How are you doing? Good to see you here. So this is kind of a discussion panel. Just
if you want to ask questions about the project group, you want to learn about the project,
we would love to hear your thoughts about it. Yeah, Alex. Let me invite you as a speaker
if you want to stay around and. You don't have to, but if you want to have a great discussion
with us, it's great to have you. The objective is really to answer any last questions, doubts,
or concerns, and developer community members. And yeah, we have 40 hours to go,
and any support possible to get it through. So we are here to answer questions. Hi, good morning.
Thank you for having me up. I'm not very familiar with the project, but I know you're onboarding
a lot of farmers. So are you? In competition with, or are you similar to what Palm Economy is doing,
or what what's the similarities and differences between your two projects?
Are you friends with them, or? So it's a great question, yeah. And I will share also, Benji,
if you can share a video, three minute video in the background, just that you get
a very quick overview about that. But yeah, I mean, we are very good friends of them.
They are part of the proposal as well. One of the biggest challenges Palm have,
and many other application, is that the cost of the onboarding of farmers is very high, right?
Because it's very fragmented. So now they have a project in Nigeria and they onboard 50,000 farmers,
but it's very costly. And what 5M is building is building the trust layer between the content
on the ground and the different applications. And what we are aiming is to break the silos
between you know many many different organizations trying to get the information.
So we basically a central place where we get verified information from various sources.
We put it on chain, and we can connect to that many applications, including obviously ZenGate.
So Palm is basically partnering in two ways. One, some of the templates to onboard the farmers.
We're going to use, and second is in the application there, where they can have a growing number
of farmers, and they can focus on their business, which is compliance to traders and organizations.
That makes sense. Yes. Are you also providing loans? So we don't provide the loans, right?
The loans, the trust layer, as the number of farmers grows, and we aiming to get to 500,000 farmers.
We already partnered with a company called Citistals, which is a company that already structures
many loans in developing countries, hundreds of millions of loans. And they will use the trust layer
to structure the loan. Yes. So you you're providing the the infrastructure,
the trust layer to bridge them to loans. Exactly. And on top of that, many applications can build.
Cistel is one example, but many can be peer-to-peer, or could be many applications that can build on
top of the trust layer of information. 100%. And in this pilot, we're actually going to have Cistel
again, which is a huge company, hundreds of millions of dollars of loan that they gave already.
They are going to help us together to structure the loan deal and then
onboard the microfinance industry to that. Which all of them are in their board members,
like Syntiotics, Blue Orchard. It's all companies that are connected to them. So I like details. So
how does how does this work? I don't think DIDs are actually working yet.
So do they do they register their piece of land and their piece of land becomes their identity
for the loans and that type of thing, or how does that actually work? Okay,
it's great that you like details. So the way it works today, so it's already live,
and the way it works today, we have two two type of information. So first,
we have we are working in India today, and already twenty. Three thousand farmers on board. Oh,
excellent! Yeah. And we have so we're using satellite oracle on Cardano,
so satellite technology to for the land border and sustainability index of the land.
And then we have local agent which add verify the information with the farmers and have crop
and yield and adding it to the system and then it goes to the trust layer on chain.
And for that we build digital identity with other information. Yeah. But what's
important to understand, it's critical to understand that we partner with a with an organization
called Sindhendra Foundation India, that they build a network of agri entrepreneurs they call it.
26,000 that work with three million farmers. So we provide the infrastructure technology
to these agri entrepreneurs to support support the farmers. We are not building everything
from scratch. The network on the ground. Okay. And this is and this is the amazing opportunity
to it. We have to connect technology with people on the ground. Yes, 100%. So yeah,
you're you're working with the infrastructure that's already there to onboard them.
The infrastructure on the ground, yes, to onboard them that is sponsored. By the way,
just to give another detail, you like details. By multinational companies like Pepsi or Coca Cola
and others, they sponsor the unbolting of these agri entrepreneurs and farmers. Oh, good!
And we are tapping into that, so we pay a fraction of the cost to unbol the farmers.
Most of the cost goes to these companies. Okay. Oh, good, good. We are in an era of agentic AI,
and somehow I think that AI agents. Are you using AI agents somewhere in there?
I imagine a lot of labor can be performed by not physical labor, but but the digital labor
or the digital insights can be gained through AI agents. And I'm I have a couple,
and I'm just wondering: Are you making efforts with AI agents to support yourself? Yeah,
so definitely, you can imagine in the satellite technology there are many AI agents, right?
Because the question is what you are looking to verify with the information. Yeah.
I started with land border sustainability, but it can be many other things: regenerative agriculture
and blah blah blah. In the in the farmer onboarding, we are not yet using AI,
but we will probably use AI again. One AI agent that is going to happen actually by SeedStyle,
the company I mentioned before, they are using AI agent to train the agri entrepreneur
how to serve the farmers with financial loans. Oh, good. Okay,
so AI is definitely going to be implemented by the different business application
or the different technology we are using. I mean, hundred percent. Okay, I'm I'm.
Excited for the rollout of the technology. It's good to know that you're in India as well, and yeah,
you know, and it's Cardano. I think it's you know low cost, high trust, you know,
available through cell phones for these people. So I'm just looking forward to your efforts
and knowing that you're partnered with Palm. So there's a synergy when we get enough
these operations going simultaneously worldwide. So yeah, I wish you good luck.
All our ID as a trust layer of information, we we can partner basically with any application, right?
That wants to build use the information. So partner is an initial design partner, but the goal,
as we grow to 500,000 farmers, any Cardano application that wants to serve them can connect
and offer the services, right? And and that's and so finance, insurance, carbon market,
traceability, and that's really the big the big deal. As well as in the trust layer itself, use
multiple technology. For Andamio, for example, we use in the trust layer as reputation engine.
So all of this Cardano. Basically, technology can be used. Digital identities, right? As well. Yep,
absolutely. Good, good. But check out the video also that Benji shared in the in the chat.
I think you shared it, Benji. Yeah, yeah. It's in the comments of of the of the session.
You you can check it out. And please share with your dear ups if you are a dear up. Also, ask
more questions. If not, share with the dear ups. There's like a billion dear ups,
billion Ada that didn't vote yet, and we really encourage them to vote. You know,
and and ask for more information, like just like you ask for more questions.
We happy to provide anyone with more details as needed. Yep, we'll do. Thank you.
Thank you very much, asap. Amazing. We have here Jack as well in Minnesota.
I'm gonna give you a speaking invite. So this is kind of a panel where we discuss about the project.
If you guys want to learn anything or have any question about the project, feel free to jump in
and yeah, we can have a nice discussion about it. Yeah. We're getting to the final hours,
and we get so much incredible support and working to make it across the line.
So we are here to share any information needed. Any questions? Also, for those who don't know yet,
we're going to be on Cardano over Coffee today at, if I'm not wrong, 2 p.m. C, 2 p.m. UTC. Sorry,
and also tomorrow at the same time. So yeah, feel free to join as well. 100%.
But these are our office hours, so you can come and ask questions. Yeah,
and Jack is a long-time friend already of us, so here in around this proposal.
But we are welcome to come and speak. But otherwise, Minnesota, if you have any questions,
happy to answer them. And happy to yeah give more info. Benji put in the comments there is
the video kind of three minute video that summarizes the proposal as well.
And our goal in the last hour is provide as much information as possible to to dear ups
and to the community, answer any questions about this exciting project. Alex, in the meantime,
I will add some more info until someone have a question. I also you know through this initiative
we were also actually invited to. Already, we are working in. So first of all,
we are working on it for several years. It's not kind of that we woke up yesterday.
It's it's a long term in the in the in the work, and we our partners are extremely big, like Sistas,
Singenta Foundation, Singenta Corporation, and they invited us about I don't know three months
or four months now to India to speak in a government event. We were the only blockchain partner
there, and it was actually about AI. You ask about AI, it was AI for Agri. And yeah,
and we had the opportunity to present what they are doing. And as we grow,
the the reason we want to onboard a lot of farmers because as we grow the number of farmers
and show them we scale, they can then then it's open discussion with this type
of government entities to collaborate. You know, if we just keep on a pilot level, okay,
that's great. It's nice. It's good, but it's time to go behind that. You know,
and kind of show that we can scale. And in fact, the next level of scale is already.
You check a website called GlobalAE.com. So we are tapping into that opportunity to grow into India,
Kenya, and Cambodia in collaboration with the IFC, the World Bank, Curteva,
which is competitor of Syngenta. So this is the where we provide the infrastructure layer,
basically, to this type of initiatives. So, if you don't mind, I'd like to ask you
the hard question. Go for it. So, how do you generate revenue in all this? How do you
how do you survive? Okay, very good question. So we design actually five AM. Is a non-for-profit,
non-for-profit revenue-generating initiative, and let me explain. In order to scale
and become the trust layer, we need to be independent. We don't want to be another silo layer,
right? Another company, and this is how we will grow to tens of millions of farmers in partnership
with the partners we are working with. The revenue comes from different areas. One,
as we connect to the business applications, as I mentioned, we are making it much cheaper
for them to actually access the market at farmers. So they will have a fee for the content itself,
as well as if we look on finance. Yep. Your data reselling. We are data reselling, and for example,
in microfinance, we we want to reduce the cost of finance, let's say from twenty five percent
to twelve percent, but we will take one percent, you know, to finance the operation as well. Ah,
okay. So, so there is revenue models there that will be at scale, and we also understand already
that there will be big foundation that wants to support it as well, as as you show the scale. So,
but in general, there is very concrete revenue models that will come from
both the business applications that are coming. Okay. Okay. Yep, just curious how the details
and the nuts and bolts of how things work. But it's good. It's good to ask the questions.
Go through the proposal also. I mean, there's you know we we've been asking a lot of hard questions,
which is you know fair fair questions. We believe we answered many of them.
We kind of even even a Q&A that we published with all the questions of the DRAPS
and answers to them. I don't know. I will share that also here, so you can read. I mean, we we.
It's good to have a lot of questions and it makes sense, but we also ask the ecosystem to look on
the opportunity we we present to onboard five hundred thousand farmers. You know,
two million transaction committed, two million dollars in loan that we are coming in this phase,
connecting to multinationals or partnering with multinationals. So all of this,
it's good to have goals. So what, where, what, why, why five hundred thousand? What, what,
what does that unlock when you get to five hundred thousand? Actually,
I wanted to go higher than five hundred, and we can go higher. Our partners work with much more.
But in essence, we want to show that we can scale, right? To the to the partner that I mentioned.
So, five hundred thousand in three different countries, just start opening.
Imagine imagine Cardano application that now can actually target in different countries,
different solutions. For example, in Kenya, we are already with some speaking with some solutions
that they have dedicated application, finance application for the farmers, right? So,
the idea of the scale is to a lot of farmers in three locations is one. It's two.
One is to show our partner, the global partner like the World Bank and other,
that we can make it at scale in multiple locations. And second, start integrated to
many business applications, and that's that's really the two goals. And then
and then we are not going to stop there. I mean, the goal by 2030, we want to get to
three million farmers, so we are not stopping there. Of course. Yep. My just basic questions
of those farmers. I assume most of this is mobile applications. How many of them actually can afford
their own cell phones? Okay. Good question. So in India, everyone has a cell phone today, a mobile,
a smartphone. Actually, India did an incredible incredible jump in the last years
with infrastructure. Everyone's smartphone. Everyone have internet. Very cheap
and infrastructure there is very good, not perfect. Like there are some connectivity issues.
Like we got twenty percent of those. There is there is some issues also to improve,
but the trend is there. And in other countries you have different solutions.
This is why you need local. I mentioned Kenya. In Kenya it works a little bit different.
So this is why I mentioned the local application that we are talking with,
that actually using more the you know the other ways of transfer the mobile the mobile data.
For five a.m. It doesn't matter, right? As you have more in the sense that as you have more
and more farmers in the center. More business application will be built based on
the different locations. So, I mean, we, yeah. So the actual application itself is built by
the user. Although now, for the first kind of use case we are working on,
we build the application for the agri entrepreneurs in India to help the farmers.
So it's kind of an application for an agent that actually helps the farmer themselves.
But any other people, any anyone else can use the information, the APIs basically, and build
other applications. I don't know if it's just me, but I don't see the video in the comments.
I shared it in the kind of in the post that I did about about the. No, not in the post,
but I think here in the comments you can share a video. Let me check. I will share it.
Huh? But I'll do. Um. I think if you, yeah, I'll do here your comments.
But anyways, the video is available on on your Rams X account. But I'll try to share it here anyway.
If you follow me, Alex or LP, I see it now. It your arm. It's under yours. Yep. Five hours ago.
Okay. Perfect. Yeah. So that's kind of a three-minute video summarizing everything.
But then you try to see how to add the info. That would be great. Some links here. Yeah, we have.
Yeah, you ask about Palm. So we have a friend from Palm here as well. Yep. I've I've met Theo
and Dan. Yep. I've talked to Sam. Yeah, I mean, I, you know, even before that,
I don't know if they told you, but I I helped them with some of their, um,
like one of their partner for for Algeria, Scott Poiton, which is a incredible experienced leader
in agricultural sustainability. The contact that I I provided them to support them, just yeah,
their work. So we know each other for several years, and yeah, I think in
general we need to support each other to absolutely do better as an ecosystem. So yep. In Scott,
I know him very well because I used to work for a foundation that he created eight years ago.
I mean, I worked for him eight years ago, and he he basically created something called
non-deforestation agreement about twenty years ago that that all the big multinationals signed.
Following, you know. Oh, good. Yeah. So this is the type of people that are involved. Yeah, good.
It's you need the heavy hitters in there. Yeah. Exactly. Exactly. Good. Good. Good. Yeah,
if anyone wants to speak, ask questions, and so on. We are here. The objective again of this post
of this space is to provide the community and the reps any information they need. Still,
answer the questions. If they are hard ones, not hard ones, any question they have, happy to answer.
So please raise your hand or ask for a speaker, and we'll answer them. Also, let's share it.
I will share it with my post as well. So. Copy link. Let me just show it as well.
Yes. Also, if anyone doesn't know anything about the project and just wants to hear about it,
we we can do a short recap. And there's also a video available on on youram's account.
One of the last posts that he did is a video of him speaking about the project. So yeah,
feel free to check it out. Um. And yeah, if you want to come up and discuss, feel free.
Also for for the people that just arrived, we're gonna be on Cardano
for coffee in around half an hour, so if you want to listen to that as well, feel free to join.
Yeah, just just publish it as well. Great, very excited. I mean, we are incredibly honored
and appreciative for all the support we got from the community. We feel it's a project that touch
a lot of people. Kind of why we are here and what we really want to build with this technology.
This is what brought me to Cardano six years ago, and we can do it. And I think this type
of projects, if we have several of those type of project in different vertical,
we can change the narrative and focus on on both in users, on the both in enterprises,
and I think it will impact everyone positively, including the price. So that's kind of where we are.
Hello, Eroka. Yeah, we are here to. Hello, Eureka. I gave you the, I gave Eureka the right to speak.
So yeah, if you have any questions, feel free to to jump in. Yeah, Alex, please.
You have a question. Yep, I've got one more question. So, how do we support you?
You're doing all these things. So we in the audience, what can we do to help you? So at this point,
you guys are already supporting by being here. But it's really now is we are trying to spread
the word to the Diracs. And any DRAFs that have questions, we have two objective.
One is obviously the DRAF that didn't vote yet. There is over a billion DRAF that didn't,
billion eight-day DRAF that didn't vote. So make sure they will have the information they need,
ask question or concern, and that they will go to vote. Because otherwise, it's a no vote.
Do you have treasury proposals or? Yeah, yeah, we have a treasury proposal
that is ending tomorrow night. Oh, see, we've talked for a few minutes here,
and you haven't mentioned the treasury proposal. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I mean,
so we have a treasury proposal, a significant one that is ending tomorrow night.
We are already at fifty-four percent support. Okay. We're on the good path there, but we need help.
Yep. Yeah, basically, again, to finance all the next steps of getting from you know to
500,000 farmers, all the KPI I mentioned, two million transactions, two million dollars
in loans application, all of that, we basically with Treasury proposal. Yeah, I mean,
so that's kind of where we are, and yeah, and just need the last push,
and I think we're in a good position to to make it work. Good luck! I hope it passes.
Thank you very much, sir. Hello, Vina. For the newcomers, here we are to answer questions
and concerns. And if you don't know anything, also let us know. Yes. So yeah,
we can make a short intro about the project if anyone is not familiar with it. If you are
and you have any question, I want to just discuss with us. You can send a request to speak.
I will approve it and and yeah, feel free to jump in. Have a lot of familiar faces here as well.
Yeah. Do you know why why we call it 5 a.m. Not because of midnight. Someone told me today
it's midnight. It's 1 a.m. No, 5 a.m. No, it's because we actually want to connect with the
with the farmers. The farmers are waking up at 5 a.m. And we feel that this project eventually is
how we support the resilience of the farmers and how we make the farmers
yeah better financially better. And this is all the purpose of the centralization, right?
When they're on their wallets and their identities. So this is where we are heading,
and so we thought it's a great name to connect to them. Also, it's incredible that they, you know,
500 million small farmholders that you know wakes up every morning very early, create our food,
and work in such an inefficient infrastructure. So that's what we come to disrupt with 5:00 a.m.
Good Minuseta and Willan. If you have any questions. I think all the others
are already quite familiar, but anyone that have questions or want more info, let us know.
Yeah, if you don't want to come up and speak, you can just also put a thumbs up if you want an intro
to the project. Yeah, we we can do a short one as well.
So yeah, feel free to to give us a a quick thumbs up if you need one.
There's so many people sharing the information we do, and we don't need to put in time up. Cool.
Okay. Yeah. Let me give a quick overview for you, sir or lady. Perfect. So 5 a.m. Is coming to solve
Turkish issues. You know, we have around 500 million small farmholders around the world,
over billion people represented. And in essence, there are two main issues there.
The cost of the markets to collect information from the ground is very expensive. You know,
we have the friend from Palm here, so they work with fifty thousand farmers in in Nigeria.
So the cost of getting there, onboarding the farmers, educating them is extremely expensive.
And because of that, the cost of the application and services they get are also extremely expensive.
Right? If you look on microfinance, insurance, traceability, compliance, like Palm and others.
So what we aim to do is what we are doing is that we are building a trust layer of information
in the center. That collect information, satellite information, and information from agents
on the ground, trusted agents, and we put it in a trust layer of information that can connect to
many, many business applications. And this is why blockchain actually is extremely useful here,
because we can put verified information on chain, and through APIs, many applications can connect.
And we're already live. We're already working with 23,000 farmers in India, and we are growing.
And this proposal now that we did is a proposal to to grow to 500,000 farmers. In
the next 18 months, we produce over 2 million transactions, 2 million dollars in loans.
Connect to multiple Cardano application like ZenGate, finance applications, and to Enundamio.
and basically show that we can do it at scale. It's not already a pilot. Otherwise, the next.
Sorry, I did a sorry, my mistake. I did a quick mistake. Sorry for that. No problem, no problem.
I speak too much, so it's good that you move me sometimes. But I'm just yeah.
Unless there's questions, I will just share some more info. And yeah, and we are extremely excited
that we managed to bring world-class partners to this project, including Syngenta Corporation,
which is a multi-billion-dollar corporation. Syngenta Foundation India,
which works with three million farmers in India and twenty-six thousand kind of agents
on the ground. Citistars, which is a company very strong in providing financial instruments
for developing countries, working with all the microfinance companies.
So that's kind of the initial partners, including strong partners for Cardano,
which you know we have. Nastasia Lab built the satellite Oracle. We have our friends from ZenGate
and Damiyo. Stablecoins are going to be integrated, so multiple Kalon solutions. And the next phase,
what is extremely exciting, is that we are actually tapping into a partnership with the World Bank
and IFC to grow into from India to Kenya and Cambodia as well. So that's kind of a quick overview.
I share it also in a quick video if you check out in my profile a few hours ago. And yeah,
we're extremely excited. And for Cardano, I mean, we all know we need adoption.
We are going to onboard 500,000 farmers, and then we can any Cardano application can connect to them
and offer the services. And that's really where we are aiming. This thing is a game changer.
And 500,000 just kind of the intermediate objective. Then we keep on scaling it with our partners.
And yeah, that's where we are. That's kind of a quick overview. If you have more questions,
hopefully I. The video that
also we provided can give a quick one, a quick overview, deeper overview a little bit about that.
Yeah, extremely excited, and I really hope it will pass.
Cool. Thank you for the overview, Lam. Any questions, maybe from the listeners here? Wylan,
Minnesota. I'm gonna send you an invite to speak. You are free to accept it or not. Yeah,
feel free to come up if you want to know anything. Also, Epi, and yeah, palm economy.
I'm sending you an invite if you guys want to come up and speak about the project.
But I know you're a bit more familiar with it. Yeah. And our goal in the last 40 hours that left
is to share with the ecosystem as much information as possible. So DeRaps, you know,
that didn't vote yet will vote, and DeRaps that voted no
hopefully will change their opinion if they get the right information. That's that's our.
We're almost at fifty-four percent. We are getting there, and thirteen percent to go. We can do it.
Now, what's exciting really is how we connect. People that actually work on the ground, right,
and the ground itself, with us sitting, you know, in air condition, behind computers,
and in comfort zone, and working, and actually see people on the ground using it
and bringing them value, and that's extremely humbling, and and yeah, I mean,
that's why we are doing it. Yeah, so in let's say ten minutes or so, we'll jump over to
the Cardano Coffee Teams and spend some time there with them. And if you wish to come
and listen more, let's see what questions they will have. Probably a lot of repetition.
Some of you hear me already repeating too many times. Thank you for that.
Just said earlier today also interview with Christian Taylor. If you can check it out,
it was about 5 a.m. But talk about Cardano adoption in general. Kind of how can we bring
more adoption to Cardano? What's the right approach? So we had a good chat
I think if there's no question, we we we can close it for now. Do a quick break for everyone
before we move to Cardonova Coffee. What do you think? That's great. Unless Minnesota, Willa,
or Epi, or anyone else have questions, let's do that. We can get some water and prepare to continue.
It's going to be a marathon all day today. Perfect. Thank you very much.
So there's no further questions. See you guys in a few minutes in Cardonova Coffee,
or see you tomorrow. We're gonna have some other office office hours. Sorry. So yeah,
feel free to join, and we would like to have you there.
Bye bye. Thank you very much for your support, everyone. Thank you.
