sucked in the game yeah but still i really really love your enthusiasm and always going for the tools, for the gadgets,

that you need to do the best trade right now but really everything takes so much time it's great
to chat with chat gpt to be honest and talk about starts of the brands and talk about how much time
did it take to actually you know start nike or start any other brand in the you know that you
might know and it usually took much more or when it was quick,
the founder had previous experience with something that failed, right?

And one more thing before we get into what MMS is building,
man, I watched a video with one YouTuber and he bought Lamborghini.
And I think he spent a lot of his network on that right and he
was talking about that why he did it etc because i think he want to like use it for the business
that to attract more views etc which i think makes sense but he said one very interesting thing and
he said that the moment i bought it like it was probably the worst feeling i i've had on the
journey the best
part was when i was grinding to actually make money to be able to afford it right and i think
that most of us are in this phase here in web 3 that we are grinding towards some kind of goal
like it doesn't have to be money it has to be you want to build something on the other side
you want to build game you want to build experiences you want to have successful
collection whatever you're building,
I think we should really appreciate the journey and really be grateful for that. Because once you achieve it, you'll be like, hey, I already climbed this mountain. Where's the next one?
So yeah, that just caught my attention because the guy, he's like 23 and man, he spoke a lot of a lot of great great things yeah very well said i i think for
me it's also uh one thing that that i learned from business is that you always want to be big
you want to be the biggest the best whatever but uh i i remember when i was uh leaving red bull and

or with the business with a project do i actually want to do that and i heard a really cool thing
uh uh lately somewhere on the podcast or somewhere uh look at the people who have already done it
what you think you want and don't look at them but look at their lifestyle
how are they living are they 15 hours a day grinding and and working if so if this is what
you want this is it or are they having this kind of lifestyle and so on so it was it was really
cool to to realize like uh it's an obvious advice of course uh look at look at the people who have
already made it,
talk to them.
And I did it several times,
but look at their lifestyle.
Look how healthy they are.
Look at their habits.
And I think this is super cool.

It's not that far away, but I saw saw some tweets so could you give us a little
overview um about the progress since the last time we've talked how how things have evolved
yeah i appreciate you having me on the show so much i mean the foxy fam community loves grateful
apes so we are we're always here to give some updates, but since we last chatted, I think it was like three or four weeks ago, we've actually added a lot into the game.
So the game devs have put some new game mechanics in there, including mountable characters.
He's even teased out, our head of dev has teased out being able to change from a foxy into a different character even like
a flying type character hint hint it's funny that pilots here hint hint but yeah it's it's awesome
to see the different gaming mechanics that have been built in and if any of you don't know about
foxy fam it's going to be a mobile game on ios and android um all built on ApeChain, onboarding Web2 into ApeChain
through the Privy wallet
or the Glyph wallet
and through just doing everything
that we can to get people
in the ApeChain.
And then hopefully,
they'll see the power
of our communities.
They'll see a bunch of different
projects in the games
and then they'll want to jump
to other side to use their assets that they've you know been acquiring through their wallet that
they realize is now a part of their lives is the the digital wallet so kind of like ton i mean i'm
glad you guys are bringing up ton because through telegram a lot of people are realizing now i can
have these digital assets we'll be doing the same thing straight through their phone,
through the app store, which millions of people are more comfortable with. So yeah, just another approach. And yeah, I think I pinned up a couple of things. So obviously, exploration in our game,
it's an RPG based game, where it's an open world experience you run around you can talk with some ai driven npcs
from other projects and learn about them so jesus in their night gliders obviously we're
working with them and getting them into the game and then probably have a dozen other that are
really highlighted in this first demo that's going to release this month but yeah open for collaborations
and and more projects that are wanting to get into the foxy valley game but too much really to to
share what's what's going on um if you have specific questions we can definitely dive into
those though oh i 100 have man but ethan is here uh on reason 100 man. He's going around. He's like, man, I need to also onboard people to Tone, right?

Obviously, I've got a long history with the Bored Apes, and Ape Chain is a big part of the Bored Ape ecosystem.
I'm not here to steal the spotlight. This space is for Foxy Fam.
I'm literally been looking at the game for the last 10-15 minutes, just watching the videos.
It looks pretty cool. I like it.
But it's just more about saying, look you what you guys are doing is
cool look what we're doing as well which is kind of similar um and just telling everyone that the
next meta in my opinion is mobile gaming on blockchains um i i think it's going to be one
of the biggest markets crypto has ever seen um gaming on its own is bigger than uh the entire
movie industry plus all of the music industry combined.
It's like twice as big as both of them combined.
It's a no-brainer.
And especially in the Chinese market as well, their gaming market is unbelievable.
Their mobile market is way bigger than their console and PC market.
Over in the Western world, I feel like we don't really play too many mobile games,
but over there it's the complete opposite.
And they're a very untapped audience
for a lot of crypto activations right now.
So we're just trying to tap in there
and bring value to the ecosystem.
I gave up the idea of teaching people
how to set up their MetaMask wallet and store their seed, etc.
I want to onboard them, like, hey, register here, play the game, enjoy it.
And if you really like it and want to learn more after some time, you have a chance to actually set up your own wallet.
But I think whether it's Gly yuga id uh telegram ton uh
ton stickers like it has to be easy because people like the attention span right now is zero almost
right people want things quick so 100 great approach i think and with glyph wallet it's
gonna be it's gonna be amazing um mm i know you know you have NFTs on ApeChain, right?
So if people own those NFTs
or why should people buy those NFTs?
How those NFTs will actually be utilized in the game?
Yeah, it's definitely a hard approach
because you want to reward the Web3 community,
but you're trying to acquire Web2 people
and you don't want to nerf
the game by just you know passing it all out so we've spent i mean years honestly developing this
game and trying to figure out the best way to reward ape chain and and actually eth holders
because we have half our collection on eth the other half on ape chain now for foxy fam
and then we acquired dawn of the Ducks.
So how do we do that too?
So what we've developed is in-game items and assets
and experiences that holders can have
as more of a VIP kind of experience.
And then Web 2, obviously through mobile gaming,
they're very used to subscriptions and monthly drops
or different season
assets that they can purchase themselves that would kind of get them back up to, you know,
receive some of these exclusive items. The coolest thing that we've been developing, though, is our
Foxy Packs, which will drop here probably in a couple weeks. But with Foxy Packs, they'll be
definitely based on, you know, trading card kind of open
your pack kind of a thing with digital assets involved. And with that, anybody that minted a
Foxy fam gets one for free. And we're looking to do that kind of a season drop for all holders,
because that's to reward like those that actually minted, right? So the minting experience that
happened a couple months ago, we want to always reward the people that supported us because that helped to fund that you know one

for two or three years, you're going to have a huge pot that you can use. We'll have different
things that you can use to, you know, use that Foxy token for. But we're migrating all that over right now.

I don't think for season two either,

But yeah, in the the future that'd be
really cool what what i want to do really is i want to partner with a um kind of like an onboarding
type of a platform and maybe that's you know maybe that's like a dashboard or maybe that's
something like that where regardless of the nft that you own if it's within that platform
that's the game launcher.
And then you can use that in-game.
It's hard with mobile though,
because we keep the poly count so low
so that we can optimize on your mobile experience
and all mobile devices.
So it's not like a PC type game like Other Side
or a nifty island
where you can have a little bit higher poly count and get away with it. We try to really make sure the experiences on mobile is the most
optimal so that frame rates are high and, you know, you can really get a good experience out
of it. So it's tougher. But eventually we'll get to the point where everything's on chain,
you know, all the 3D models and all that kind of experience will be better,
but it's just not at that point yet. So yeah, imagine running around with your ape. That'd
be amazing. That'd be cool. But the projects we have in there right now, um, we have, you know,
G's on ape, obviously we have a couple board apes that are in there just as NPCs. Um, we have a kid on ape they're in there um you know we're working with pilot to get some of
the night gliders in there as well as an actual like i i want that to be an actual like companion
player in the demo you won't see the companion type of of players yet though but for season one
that's my plan and again it's so loose that we're building like with with the community, we're building
in public.
So you guys get to see if you're in Discord, everything that we're building and make decisions
on, you know, what you think looks the best or the game mechanics that work the best.
So it's a completely different build than a lot of experiences that I've been a part
I mean, I'm going back and downloading old emulators for games you know that i i'd like to check out and you know just take like i'm trying
to do as much research as possible like the the og like animal valleys and and you know just some
of these other games that that were like harvest moon you know like some of these good experiences
that people loved and then trying to figure out how to
build in some of the the nostalgic mobile gaming experiences into foxy valley so but the game that
you see today if you jump in and you get a demo version or a test account version it's going to be
a lot more refined by the end of the summer so again again, it's all comes down to the funding
and what we kind of scrambled to build.
But once we have that out there in public,
I think you guys will be excited.

that you aim to onboard people to Ape Chain,
to basically get them into playing blockchain games how do you
plan plan to do that so there's a there's actually i don't know if like the right
way to describe it but we have to we have to try a lot of different things so our game dev has had
a lot of experience with kickstarter actually so So, kickstarting a game, going through that platform, raising some funds,
and then having just a ton of Web2 gamers come through,
through Steam and through other experiences.
So, we're definitely trying that.
We're going to do a little small Web2 funding, right,
that will get more gamers in and involved,
and then thrown into our Discord so that they can feel a part of it.
I feel like that's actually going to be a really big onboarding experience just for people to
switch the narrative of you know mobile gaming and web 3 you know that doesn't really mix and
we hate nfts but i think that will onboard a lot of people and then obviously like you know streaming
through whether that's you know a control Ovi or especially some of the other
platforms, the bigger platforms like, you know, YouTube and Twitch, those will be good experiences
just to show off the game. But then it's hitting social media. So we're hitting Instagram, TikTok,
we're going to have to hit all of them to make sure that we're firing well. And then if you want
a successful mobile experience, you kind of have to go through different agencies, marketing agencies that have, you know, have experience.
So I'm, I'm talking with a couple more indie game dev marketing type, side because once we once we feel successful with
the demo and as you know us on web 3 have tested it and love the game then we're we're really just
gonna have to hit hard with the actual launch which is i keep referring to a season one but
that's really the the big launch which will probably be fall kind of you know fall maybe
into winter is when we're
planning for that huge onboarding experience just because it needs to be you know needs to be right
i'm sure it'll kind of go alongside other side as well so hopefully ape chain will just see this huge
flood from all the games being developed and being released you know near end of the year
but there's there's just a ton of marketing that we're already prepping and that we'll have to
develop deliver so what has been the hardest so far uh in terms of the you know since the main
basically what what was the toughest part that kind of surprised you or that was the most challenging
for you well i mean everyone says building a game takes forever it seriously does and it's just like the little things that that
add up that are just so discouraging like in 2021 when we minted out foxy fam and then we did the
companion character the foxy hound we had so much planned for this game that we're like yeah let's
just whip up like a quick little demo um just a proof of concept let's pull some gaming assets
from you know the unity hub because our game is gaming assets from, you know, the Unity hub because
our game is built on Unity. And, you know, let's just at least just show people what it could be.
Like, yeah, this shouldn't take long, like maybe a few months. That took forever. Like,
it took forever just to build out like kind of a basic concept. And we did it in the form of
a runner-based game. And it was fun, but it was definitely not polished.
And there was, you know, a scoreboard and we'd ran contests for it and people loved it.
Their kids loved it, but it just wasn't a game that stood out.
So three years later, you know,
three or four years later, as we keep developing it,
we've been through so many iterations of a 3D Hound
or a 3D Foxy and have been through four
or five different agencies that have helped us build kind of a game or aound or a 3D foxy and have been through four or five different agencies that have helped
us build kind of a game or a concept of a game. And then obviously people get burnt out, like,
especially with web three, bringing web two game devs into web three, they absolutely hate it for
some reason. Like they just tying it to the blockchain. They're like, this is unnecessary.
We can just use a basic database. So there's just so many little things that people disagree with and then you bring on the next development team they're
like oh we got to rebuild this from scratch because this is like crappy code or you know
these models suck and it's or then it's me being a perfectionist in the middle of being like no
this does not look like a foxy at all and i mean i've spent months and months and months even with rita just being like how do we get this to a point where
because i mean i guess to kind of give a timeline on it i helped launch g's on ape and you know i
was talking to rita years before he even was doing this he was just building out the basics of
you know the the mutant or the ape running around in an in that ideal other side world like just showing the proof concepts of
things and i was like rita you need to just launch a project because this is ridiculous your talents
need to be everywhere so that's why he brought me on for you know to be the head of marketing
with g's on ape when we minted it and even through that i was like we got to build in foxy somehow onto ape chain we
got to bring it in here like i'm i'm building this game over here but like your team is incredible
like what can we do and he's like well i'm not really focused on gaming i'm focused on the models
so let's see what we can do with the proof of concept for a foxy model i'm like well here's
the ones that i have and he's like these are crap these suck i'm like they're good like i know like
we can refine them and then he's like well let me crap. These suck. I'm like, they're good. Like, I know like we can refine them. And then he was like, well, let me give a stab at it.
And even his versions, he just didn't have the time to put towards it. Cause he was at the time,
you know, developing like the mutant models and then the Kodos and, and he was just in the middle
of that stuff. So even his version of the Foxy, I was like, that's still not it. Like we need to
spend, you know, a few more weeks or a couple more months on this model it just doesn't look right but stuff like that even just creeps in
and just if you want a really good experience for everybody it literally takes forever so whenever I
hear like other sides delayed a little bit longer like I'm like I totally get it like it sucks but
I totally understand I can't imagine building at that scale so it's just the little things that add up and
they're frustrating and then people get burnt out and you know I get burnt out and then you
kind of just have to rely on your community to get you excited again but the kind of in summary
and then I'll shut up but the last month has been like bliss it's been like a
new honeymoon stage of foxy that has just brought so much more hope and excitement back again
besides just the normal grind of trying to deliver the product but it's yeah ape chain is at a fun
place right now it may not look like it at the price of apecoin but apechain is in a really good place and by the end of the year it's going to be really really cool can you share in which way
you you see see the apechain in a in a good spot right now you got me mid-sip with my water um
just like the projects that and the people that are coming over i mean ethan even jumping over
here is it's really cool to see other people
that can see what's being developed.
And I think we hit the ground running really well with NFTs.
And we showed that a cheaper NFT is a fun experience.
But now we really need to flip the narrative of,
but Ape Chain also is building this stuff.
And with OtherSide bringing that attention i'm hoping
you know the more that yuga puts into marketing for other side it will then kind of filter down
through well these are some of the people you know the characters that are going to be in the game
or here are some of the builders that are building on other side whoa they already have this other
collection here on ape chain too that looks like they're porting it into the other side i feel like
just there's going to be
so much of this natural organic communication that's going to happen in the next, honestly,
month or two. Spotlight, you know, season two, into season three. There's a lot that's being
developed behind the scenes that makes me excited. And then with the builders still jumping on,
like I took last week off and it literally feels like I wasn't in the space for a year because I already feel like irrelevant.
And I took a week off with the family.
So it's, it's the builders like that just keep jumping, like Zara's down in the space.
I mean, Baron, you're always in like every freaking space.
Everybody like showbiz, everybody from the ape coin or the ape chain team is just there to
support like and i'm not even scrolling i'm just looking at the top so if i missed you i'm sorry
but like gucci you know reaching or gucci to jumping and saying like are you still gonna have
your spaces because we need this like it's just we're a family yeah but also just more business
minds that are coming in because i'm i'm not super super
dgen or i'm just chilling on spaces with baca i wish i could i wish i had the time but just the
more like web 2 companies and business people that are coming into it that's when you like
can feel the momentum picking up so it's it's based for me at least, based on behind-the-scenes conversations.

and I think also they are waiting for the time to release,

like andy will kill me but let me read a little bit of what he's saying because i think it helps
to see like behind the scenes the fights fights, the internal fights that happen.
Like we're all in the, like, we're all, you know,
an awesome team, we love each other.
But it's like when you set deadlines for web three,
it just like does not mesh with web two
or with like game development.
But I was asking like,
we got to deliver something like next week,
but we want the demo to be, you know, next week.
This week we have to get iOS testing because it's just been Android at this point. And he's like, I understand that
your, you know, your timelines are necessary, and I do want to abide by them. But development
timelines are always soft. Delays are and will always be due to unforeseen issues of systems
being created. It's like asking how long will it take you to build a spaceship? Like we can
speculate and we can build these timelines that don't exist,
but really like there's so much involved that you just can't predict it.

So I just keep going back and forth and we're like making fun of each other

sharing today with you is the golden grails quest yeah so basically to introduce you what are the
golden grails it's the most rare trait in the entire collection which is owned currently by
only three people and they're not for sale one of of them is Adam Waitzman. The second is Dragon Seller
Who is a big collector in

Bunny Ape. Man, we met him with Tino. We met Dragon Seller in Hong Kong

It's insane how the community is strong and you can build your own

other people approach me about their local business how they can offer it to the gliders. They do some custom handcrafted beautiful art pieces.
How can we do it?
How can I help them, give them a spotlight?
And this transition from Web 2 to Web 3 on night gliders.

or to actually enjoy it right we don't need any more like farming games that you you go
into other side to farm apecoin like we don't need it right so i think that's a huge benefit
that apecoin has been around for for a few years already and that we can build experiences that will attract players.

And what's the best way to actually share OtherSide and what it can do?
It's by streaming, sharing the content from the game, right?
So I think we need to share it outside of Web3, 100%,
and make it easy for players, streamers to join and to play it
and make some experiences that are fun for them.
That's the most important thing.
Like you see FIFA rivals, like the game is fun
and people are playing it
not because it's on blockchain, but because
it's fun. So I think that's the most important
thing in gaming, to have fun
and hopefully
it will attract players with
marketing, etc. So

understands that uh it needs to be fun it needs to be easy to build on uh so really cool people
and cool brands can be building on it and can make it fun for us so it's basically you are uh
somehow uh crowdsourcing the you don't have to build it yourself and and you can basically multiply the
building in a very short period of time and at the same time i think being for the fact
it is on blockchain i think it does need to have some kind of financial gain for the for the people
and some some some kind of you know at least possibility to win or to gamble or this
kind of stuff because we are gamblers. 100% but I was talking about the farming
right? Farming is not about anything you mentioned bro, it's just about being
retarded and clicking which I'm doing man I'm retarded I'm clicking some stuff.
We're clear on that, this kind of farming I've never been a big fan of it.

Regarding my summer man, I'm not a big fan of summer holidays kind of thing.
