I hope you got home okay with the train issues over in Paris.
Yeah, I don't know actually what happened.
I was at Paris Blockchain Week and I wanted to get home and the train got like delayed by a couple of hours.
But as you may know in the news.
We're in the day and the day, I was in the day, I was in the day, we're in the day of the day and we're doing the day and I was working with a brand new day, the day of the day of the day and then we're doing the day, and I'm going to save the day and then we'll learn more.
I'm the head of the foundation of ASTRO Network and I've been working with ASTRO for two years
and seven months something and I started my career on blockchain I think it was like 12 years ago
or in the blockchain space and 12 years ago where I joined a lot of meetups as well a lot of
hype regarding the bitcoin and and then became one of the early traders or become the early
people who were clicking on ads to get some sets to get like started in the system and then later on
I became more and more involved in in the blockchain industry and of course it wasn't always like full
time in blockchain and I'm also my previous career was also that I was like a primary school teacher
for 14 years I've been working with a big telecom company here in Belgium and but always had the
interest in blockchain and then just before corona hit as well I became again much more active in
the developer part of blockchain and that's when I joined some some hackathons and one of those
hackathons led me to to ASTRO Network so let's talk about ASTRO Network because I feel like a lot of
people don't know about it at least in my own circles anecdotally but I want to I want to first start
with the high level overview of what it is what problems you guys aim to solve and then we can jump
and then add some bolts of things yeah of course so regarding ASTRO Network ASTRO Network is a is a
power chain on Polkadot it's not that we are branding ourselves as part of Polkadot but we are utilizing
the features that Polkadot gives us the features that are like shared security the trustless bridges
between all those blockchains that are connected to Polkadot itself but ASTRO Network will is the
is the is the blockchain that provides all the smart contract features that are that will enable
that builders to build them so we at ASTRO Network we support multiverse machines meaning that we do not
only support EVM but we will also support and wasn't smart contracts as well so we created an environment
where we can have builders who are already used to Rep3 and are already used in building on EVM with
solidity or viper they can easily build as well on our on our network we are also focusing on the
wasn't smart contracts and one thing why we are doing this is that the framework of ASTRO Network is
built across it's built with wasn't and having the support of wasn't smart contracts will enable
much more native smart native solutions for smart contracts builders and you can compare this a
little bit to Cosmos who created as well Cosmos and and Nir who's also working with the wasn't smart
contracts and in our network with EVM as well wasn't we also made like an indoptable layer between those
smart contracts environments meaning that if you are building with EVM you have as well a possibility
to call wasn't smart contracts and vice versa so our platform is does not only focus on existing blockchain
developers but we also focus on developers who are not used to blockchain but still want to utilize the
smart contract solutions and that's where the wasn't smart contracts comes in and like i said before we
are a parachain of polkadot so what ASTRO do is we enable and provide the functionalities for the smart
contract solutions that are still needed and aren't needed on polkadot so what kind of problems are there
currently is that um a lot of things that you will see now or things that you see in the multi-chain
environment that everybody is very familiar with is that with EVM you do see a lot of those copy-paste
projects who are based on the uniswap or based on the on the pancake model therefore for the taxes and so on
on the and the forks of the Adria and so on so what we are doing or what problem we want to solve with
this is that with polkadot and with the wasm environment we can start getting like more
tractions for developers who are looking for some kind of new innovation and want to utilize multiple
blockchains in their solutions and this is where ASTRO and polkadot comes in and so another thing is
that with ASTRO and connected to polkadot what we also solve here is that a lot of ecosystems or a lot of
blockchains that are currently out there they are working in silo meaning they have their own ecosystem
they have their own apps and the community will stay in this silo so with the making it available
the smart contract solution and polkadot we will break those silos and we will try to engage with our
developers and try to give them the solutions and trying to give them the possibilities to think a
little bit further and think about out of this cellular world and think about using other blockchains in
their application that they are building on top of us and also with some of the limitations that that
EVM has with the um complexity that can be used in smart contracts this is also something that
can be solved with using wasm smart contracts meaning that more complexity can be used in in smart
contract level that can have like bigger solutions for the enterprises who wants to join or wants to
utilize the blockchain technology and another thing that we are solving as well with ASTRO is that we
created like an ecosystem that is proof of stake but what we do with our proof of stake model is that
we have built out a mechanism where the developers who are bringing value to our ecosystem will have like
rewards paid from our inflation meaning that the stakeholders will not stake on validators the
community but they will stake on applications who are building on top of us meaning that the moment
there's a staker who's building out on projects on a project who brings value to us the developers
behind this they will earn rewards based on the amount of stakers and the TVL stakers has staked on that
application and this is something that we call in our ecosystem the unstoppable grants because the
moment there is like one staker on your application you will get that basic income as a developer so
you will start earning some of the inflation and you will keep on earning with your projects building
on ASTAR and this will give you a solid income as long you keep the application up to date of course
and involved in our ecosystem this is a little bit about a little overview about ASTAR network so feel
free to ask any questions you you may have regarding this yeah so the proof of the proof of stake mechanism
that you guys have in place is actually built in a way that rewards developers that are contributing
positively to the ecosystem correct yes correct it's it's the reward system that that is built by us
and it's something that um you can compare as well for instance like if you if you go to near the
developers who are building on here they also get like some kind of reward to the moment smart contracts
are used in their ecosystem and we build out a mechanism as you may know if you go to to any
staking platform and you will see different kinds of validators you will go with the with the validator that
will give you as a staker the most rewards and at the end so what we did as well is we have a staking
platform where all the applications are listed who are in our dap seeking mechanism and you as a staker
can use which dap you want to support but in this case we educated our community as well the moment you
stake on a dap you know that a part of the inflation will go to that dap so you are rewarding the
behind that so you need to make sure that the moment you stake on on a project it's not stake and
forget it's stake and and you stake on the project that brings actually value to you as a user okay
or brings value to the entire ecosystem of astar so with this um it's possible for developers who are
very active with their community who are very community engaged uh who brings a lot of value to
master and the community they most they have more stakers they have more engagement they have more
fraction they are also more used as an application and they and those major ones they earn like um
nice rewards based on the system but they can keep those or can get those rewards um that they got
through that staking and keep that for development keep that for uh employment and payments or you will
give it back to the community for instance for decks they can use it for incentivize our peoples and so
on and so so and it's a reward system that we created that will value the developers in our ecosystem
and not only focus on on the community i love it you highlighted the limitations that evm compatible or
rather evm smart contracts can have and that wasm smart contracts are more useful for complex
steps and also highlighted the fact that astar is sr is focusing on wasm contracts and so having
supported these will enable much more native solutions for smart contract builders so let's take a step back
can you highlight some of the important um qualities and like first of all what is a wasm contract and what
makes it um more versatile than any vm contract okay um so let me just go a little bit about talk about
what wasm in general so um wasm stands for web assembly and web assembly it's a technology that allows
allows software programs to run on different type of devices and this includes web browsers it's
into service um web assembly itself is it's not a language it's more as a compiler or so you can
you have a language and it compiles into wasm and so wasn't currently is designed by all the major
players who are currently in web2 active those are like google and facebook um ozilla all those major
companies they are developing wasn't they are developing web assembly so um i will not go too technical
into what's web assembly i usually when i do like talks and explain uh web assembly i'm use like more
simple terms so um think of um web assembly like a common language and it's a common language that
different devices can understand it's like having a translator who can communicate between different
languages and allowing programs within one language to be used on another device that speaks a different
language and wasm in this case is like a translator that makes this possible and this is very useful
for web applications because it allows them to run in a faster it allows them to run in a more
efficiently and in a more secure environment and and by using a common language like wasm web applications
can be optimized for different devices and platforms and that makes them more accessible and easy to use it
for everyone and that's why um those big players in web too like google and facebook are developing
web assembly heavily because it will it will optimize all different kinds of devices it's runs on this can
be on in a car this can be on a computer this can be on a phone it makes it possible to because of it
works very closely to the native environment of of your let's say of your computer makes it more
accessible and make it more faster and more reliable than just any any other any other language or any
other compiler so if we translate this now into wasn't smart contracts so wasn't smart contracts can
be written in different kinds of languages meaning that you can write a smart contracts this can be
an ink who's like a rust based language it can be in typescript it can be in c sharp c plus plus and the
moment you can compile that language into wasn't you can compile it into a wasn't smart contract
and this opens a whole new kind of way of onboarding developers into the utilization of the blockchain
technology and the ones to use the ones who wants to use smart contracts so you can see as well wasn't
smart contracts more as a translator for all those enterprises or translated for all those developers
to utilize the blockchain technology in smart contracts and this lifts off like limitations that evm has
because you need to let's say educate a developer in-house to learn more about solidity to learn more
about um a viper or you have to hire new people who already are familiar with building into a blockchain
and building into web three and with the support of wasn't smart contracts you and you enable a whole new
pool of developers and it's the same way with the mindset that you currently already see with a lot of
new ecosystems coming out they're all built out with a rust framework or most of them are built up with
rust framework because it allows like more scalable solution and more and faster solution and a more
efficiently using the environment through blockchain technology that's why we're heavily focusing on the
wasn't smart contracts because we see this as a next step or like this space also said like exploring the
future of blockchain this enables the future of blockchain for the next couple of years because
it's heavily focusing on the technology and bringing that technology of blockchain to a whole new pool of
developers and enterprises this is something that we are really focusing on on bringing that technology
into enterprises as well as bringing this technology to already that three developers
got it so at a high level it's allowing developers that are versed in different languages
to build within web three without having to go on and let me learn solidity for example right it's like
as you and you as you said it's kind of a translator that can communicate between different languages
yes correct it's like a lot of people are saying okay let's bring web two into web three but in this
way we already have like web three solutions and we bring this into web two and wasn't smart contracts
will be the translator to get this done into this web two companies
so is this also an interoperable layer between smart contracts
it's not it's not an interoperable layer between smart because it's a smart contract on its own
or as an environment on its own but what we created inside of astar is that interoperability between
those environments so we do have as well on astar evm we do have solid developers we do have uniswap
clones we do have other clones as well so the evm environment is healthy and it's used but we also
have like a wasm environment this is a completely different environment but at astar we made them as well
in talkable because what we see as well is that a lot of evm developers who are already in web through
they sometimes face some limitations regarding gaming or or regarding using the the the native
solutions of princess polka dot much more in their applications so for instance we have like a
text was built completely um on evm who's using the uniswap um backhand and so all but they created
like gamify features that will be built in the wasm and will be built in wasm and then they connect
it into their decks and connect into the evm environment making it interruptible so let's say
there's also coming like a new language so let's say um the move language is very popular so it's also
possible to extend this as well to our ecosystem and if we got like a lot of move developers out there
who wants to use polka dot it's possible as well that we integrate this virtual machine in our
environment and then you can also use the move language that's that can be used in an astar but
currently we only focus on the wasn't an ink language as well as the evm to get things started
because we are only live like for one year and we already have like a lot of work so but for the next
steps in the future we want to extend this as well to multi-function machines and not limited to
wasn't smart contracts and evm or solidity smart contracts okay got it um and you said a lot of
problems that we see on the multi-chain environment with this like copy fit copy paste unit swap forks or
i don't know pancake swap forks or rather platypus forks you name it are because of the limitations of
evm smart contracts and this allows for developers to build out new innovations and do it with a with
a better toolkit toolkit toolkit yeah it's not it's not really really in that case i see more as as the
copy paste project and this is every ecosystem has had this problem because of the long rule market that
we had and the innovation that happened that was in the defy summer that was in the uni swap that was
with avi they created a whole new defy environment and and a whole new innovation of utilizing blockchain
and and this period extended for a whole long time and and it was the whole bull market lived and thrived
on it as well now in the bear market we see um that or like i'm not going to say that it's still like
bear market but just let's say um half year ago we see that more developers are like okay i don't want
to have like the same um smart contract that uni's obviously i want to do much more and i want to utilize
your ecosystem i want to utilize your tooling i want to utilize all your possibility to think about
what can be the next um innovation coming into into the blockchain technology and and making an
environment available where you challenge developers to think further than just um creating something
in in in an ethereum similar environment so we want to challenge developers to think about what is the
next thing that really can bootstrap the blockchain technology and and this is more in our own environment
that we are building house and on the unit on the user interface and when you go today and try to work
or try to play around with the s star dap what are some things that you can do
well similar at any because um currently the wasn't smart conflict environment is just getting
bootstrapped at the moment um so we first make sure that the evm smart and environment is available
so for the end user who already is familiar with that to the threat free nothing changed for them they
still use the same tooling they still use the same walls that they are used to everything is the same for
them if they go to the wasn't site this change a little uh things because currently there are
other wallets that you need to use for this there's other kind of toolings for the developers that you
need to do this but it's something that a lot of um big companies as well as as metamask are also
looking into on how to improve this for the user and because of the native solution of polkadot has also a huge
interest of all those tooling partners to make them or their toolings compatible with this technology as
well and so currently at one point and there won't be any difference if using another kind of um solution
or another kind of ecosystem um our main focus is at the moment is building out applications that leverage
much more than what the current user is used to and we can give you for an example if you not so sure if
you are familiar with polkadot but we have several parachains and all parachains each parachain is a
blockchain on its own so let's say we have like guilt on us on polkadot they are like a did solution
a did blockchain only focusing on identity then you have like for instance um another blockchain that's only
focusing on um the defy hub on polkadot it has a lot of liquidity a lot of a lot of foods um and then
you have like a privacy blockchain that's focused all on privacy what you can do for instance on astar
you can build out your regular that you can build out that and then utilize for instance the did from
that one blockchain because of the interoperability between all those blockchains with the support of
polkadot um they can be easily be integrated as well to adapt or they can use as well liquidity from
a completely other blockchain and to be used in that or they can use the privacy layer if they want to
do some privacy solutions as well and this is something that is still being bootstrapped and this is
something that you see as the future and not thinking like i said in the beginning taking thinking as a
silo but really think about utilizing all those great tools that are currently already built out or all
those great blockchains are already available and have a huge traction build out something that utilize
what's already available and this can only empower the usage of the of the scalability of blockchain
in the future i think when it comes to i think when it comes to something like astar it can get pretty
complex pretty quickly do you guys have educational materials tutorials ways for people that are
interested in what you're building to learn and get up to speed yes we do we do have an extended
documentation um we do have extended video support for everything that we do we do have everything
available for a developer to start with so currently we are focusing on different kinds of things we
are focusing as well on an sr academy that is focusing on the building on aster as well as utilizing polkadot
we are also very active in hackathons so we have hackathons with angel hack with encode and do our own
hackathons we have a global series hackathons with polkadot that goes to all continents in the world
focusing on those developers we are part of different academies and universities where we educate more
and more people and regarding this technology and it's still like very challenging for us because it's
another way of thinking for developers it's another way of building on blockchain but with
all the efforts that we are doing and we get we really can get to those people who wants to think
further than just the crypto native aspect of blockchain but really think about the technology
and integrate this technology in so many already existing solutions solutions but with blockchain
technology you can improve those existing solutions and this is what something that we really want to
do and this is also something that we currently do with some of the enterprises that we are working
with for instance we are working with um toyota where we did like a recent hackathon with um with toyota the
car company as well as some incubation programs we are now doing with sunny and where we are looking for
bringing solutions into their enterprises where they can learn from as well as and integrate them later on
in the next step in the next step of their um development of the company itself
martin have you seen any unique new dApps being built as a result that as a result of astar
yes we do so currently we have like a game and um a game it's called uh which one it's like a strategy um
strategy game where you as a user um if you want to play a game what you want to do when you play a
game you just want to game you want to a game has to be fun a game you don't want to play a game where
you need to connect wallace where you need to um first buy nfts with and so on so so this game that
we designed is something that it's completely unchained it's an unstoppable um game because it's utilizing
that seeking and i will explain a little bit more why this will be unstoppable game it's completely
an ipfs it's completely on a decentralized way completely on blockchain as well but uh in the
back end there is like a moment you log in in a game that it creates the wallet for you it's um it's
gives you immediately some funds in the game that you can use as well to do um some transactions if
needed um but the user never gets the pop-up that it needs to connect with a wallet or needs to connect
with an rpc note or needs to connect with anything related to blockchain they just want to play the game
and in that game there are several um features meaning that and there's also a privacy layer in
in that game that will utilize um another blockchain that is connected to polka dots to make this happen
another thing is that it will later on connect as well to the idea where you can attach your identity
if needed as well to this and when i was talking about unstoppable because this game will is also
implement or will also in the next phase be implemented in our gap staking meaning that the moment there is
like one staker on that game in our gap staking and it gets funding from that smart content or get funding
from the mechanism and that um funding will be used to and by the server cost and and will be utilized to
foster people new new people who are in the game and so on so the game is the moment is on that state
in utilizing different kinds of blockchains it's really something unique um and soon we will release
as well this game with more information and it's something that can really enhance
the possibilities that are available for gaming industries that they don't need to worry about
the burden that they currently have with that three and all those wallets that lifts those up
so this game was also presented during each arcade during the tender that's very positive results
and and now the next step is to really showcase this to the wider world and this will be soon as well released on ester
martin i want to open the floor up to exciting stuff by the way and i'm going to circle back
here in a second and ask you if there's anything else that is being built that's unique to astar but
i do want to get one of my audience members in here to ask a question so i'm going to pass some like to
her um and then we might get some i'm going to open up the floor as well audience members if you want to
come up and ask martin some questions super smart and seems like you know it's quite a bit about astar and
what they're building on that end so ayesha mike's yours okay thank you noah so in the medium article
i came across information that ester has formed a partnership with shibuya to promote the world's
warp 3 initiatives shibuya is known for being a contemporary city in tokyo can you provide
further details on how this collaboration will benefit both the ester and shibuya communities
additionally will they still be introducing any job opportunities scholarships or internship
programs for students in the shibuya city region
okay that's a that's a nice question thank you um so let me tell you a little bit about about
ester and japan and so we are very uh working very closely with the government of japan we are very
working closely with cities who are um who are in japan and one thing why we have this benefit or
have this narrative is that our founder soto otanabe he lived in japan and he founded this company in
tokyo but the problem here was that he has to leave tokyo the city that he really loved has to leave the
country because it was not possible to create a blockchain or a crypto company in in japan um but
he always kept fighting on on getting directly more involved in the in the japanese government or get
like more regulations regarding uh blockchain and crypto so he kept fighting with this and then um at
one point as well he got the government convinced and and he got them listen and he got the whole story
regarding blockchain and how it really it's like one of the unique technology that you really need
to get used to or embrace as well as a country and this is um something very excited for japan
itself because if you look at japan it really missed out on the web 3 on the web 2 um hype that
was going on everything went to silicon valley everything went to the us and japan actually doesn't
have anything related to web 2 or not like the big companies there um so now they are putting a lot
of efforts in making sure that they do understand web 2 web 3 they do understand the benefits of web 3
and that's where we come so we give the government advisory we work very closely with um the enterprises
in japan and at the same time also work very closely with those cities and one of them is shibuya um shibuya
is very well known for the young population it has a lot of young uh people living there and a lot
of people that are you looking for um the next thing to focus on as well for their career and because
this is something very important in the japanese culture as well looking for what can the future
bring for for me and my family and and for us and this is where we heavily put a spell on shibuya because
we opened up an environment for those young people to learn about web 3 advise them and help the
enterprise in the neighborhood and that are built as well around uh shibuya to to learn more about the
web 3 and faith space and this is something that we see as well a future as well in the next step and
yes there will be some um scholarship and there will be some education and offline as well happening
in tokyo and one of those initiatives will start as well later on in beginning of april where we
will have like offers as a boot camp in tokyo during it tokyo where we educate more to young people
regarding web 3 and also regarding um astar so if you are going to eat tokyo please check it out we
will soon release more regarding this boot camp and events that are coming inside tokyo where you can
also learn more about astar so we are heavily focusing as well in the young community who are currently
i understood and what are your thoughts on the differences in web 3 regulatory frameworks between
japan the us and the europe given that esternet is fully compliant with regulations in japan
and currently expanding to the us and europe
yes we are already um expanding in europe uh in the u.s we are working very closely with our
legal team because the recent changes in the us made us as well a little bit um
in our backlog regarding getting like more involved there um but because we are currently focusing so
much on the japan and the asian region as well as europe we see um for us the us more as a later phase
for us start to grow in and now we see a huge potential more in korea as well in vietnam and then
we move as well to europe because the polkadot is very heavily active in europe that's why we also
there in europe and later on we focus as well more on the us we already are um not fully regulated in the
us but we do have um compliance uh papers that it means that our token as well can be used as well
on minus us as well as on quark and it's no problem so we do have um we do have the u.s
residents who can who can buy our token as well so we are working on everything but as you may know
every every big continent has its own heavy regulation and then also each country has its very heavy regulation
so it takes a lot of of time to get like fully and set where we want to be
awesome got it okay i know just on your twitter page that you recently announced the finalists for
your web 3 incubation program with sony network i saw that 19 teams have qualified to participate in
the program i'm curious about the evaluation process you use to select these teams and what kind of
support and assistance they can expect to receive from sony network and esther to help turn their ideas
into reality okay cool thank you um yes we recently released the finalists of the first cohort of the
sunny incubation program it's a program where we are working very closely with um some sunny network
communications um where again like i mentioned before they're looking as well for ways how web 3 can
utilize their business as well in in the future and so sunny network communications they are heavily
in the nft and gamify area so they are looking for the projects which joins into incubation on how
the nft and gamify aspect can help as well that other departments like sunny music for the nfts
and the gaming for the sunny where playstation is also under and so we had in total over
250 applicants or projects who joined this incubation the complete evaluation is first it's not done by
esther itself it's done by our sister company as well as start here together with sunny to do like the full
full evaluation um now the incubation started two days ago where the 19 teams um are currently under um
mentorship of pastor developers and on the mentorship of sunny and to build out their idea in the next
three months sunny will give them um help regarding um looking in how their projects can help sunny existing
um already existing um already existing uh tools or already existing um departments and how it can benefit
sunny in this whole as a company it will also help with um funding after those three months if um they are
looking for funding and they will also support regarding the knowledge that he already built out with all the
the years that they are working in in this space to help and support the projects showing this program
but that's what we are looking for for those projects joining is to really um test out all the innovation
that i have been talking about earlier on how to integrate as well them into their uh project and
do the into that that they are building and at the same time we also provide a full mentorship and give them
as well later on grants based on on the achievement that they did in this incubation program
gorgeous thank you thank you so much for dancing
more than welcome aisha thank you aisha great questions let's go to captain levi next
yeah um thank you noah okay so i i can see a lot of um documentation here and from the lowest level
to the highest level um my first question i want to ask is um i saw one that's talking about um give me
a second let me pull it up i saw one that's talking about um yeah the how to unregister a wallet and
register a wallet so i i see here that people actually registered um by um the native wallet address
and um is there a requirement to must to have both the asta pass and the shinden pass to be able to
be verified on the same registration platform
um sorry i was muted i'm not so sure if i get your question uh fully um so currently
i think it's what you mean is regarding those different kind of wallets and how
they are interoperable with each other can i see your question more like this
yes yes i that's actually the first question i had in my voice hit my mind so how does it work
how did they then interrelated each other
okay um i will try to do my best to answer answer your question how are they related those
wallets they are related in a sense that we do have it as though we have two address schemes one
address scheme is a native address scheme also ss58 where that's more like a poker up native address
or substrate native address then you also have like evm environment where you just have the h160
that everybody is familiar with and a regular ethereum address so with those different kinds of wallets
we also make it possible with the end dotability that we have that you can link your
one address on the native side as well to an address on the evm side this is why is this very important
because we have two different environments you can have adapt being built in our native environment that
uses this address scheme and you can have um that building out in our evm environment it has another
addresses scheme if you know that their wallets are like connected or you know this wallet on native is
connected to this wallet on on evm makes as well the partnerships between depths on different
environments very easy because and let's say there is like um a partnership with that a who is native
and as a partnership with that b who is on on evm and let's say that b wants to bootstrap the community
and they are saying you will get um x amount of tokens if you are also using that that and so with
making sure that those bullets are like mapped and we can make sure or we can say that that user on
native is the same one as that user on evm and that's why we created that that wallet or that system
behind it in the back end like this the asset pass or the shider pass that you mentioned to make sure that
those mapping is available and people can be sure that one address is the same one same user that in the
other environment this is one of the use cases it's useful i hope this answers your question
yes that actually does sound interesting um the next question i remember that i wanted to ask him
was the fact that you made a statement where people can make um different programming languages to um to
build on the astra network how do you guys deal with conflicts um is it submitted to a team that's a
that's a technical team that reviews um whatever activities that is being done or is it dependent
on the developer that does he take full responsibility should anything happen to his or her code
of course the the developer who's building their code and of course and it's your responsibility if you
build the smart contract so it's your responsibility as well to do the audits if needed for your smart
contracts but coming back to um do we review the smart contracts no and but that's also the beauty
of wasm spark so wasn't is like um can be compiled into wasm and let's say it's built on wasm there's
complete um testing environment available as well as an error log so the moment something is not correct
you will as well your smart contract will be they flagged by by compiling it um but the moment you are
putting it on chain and you want to utilize it with your with your community it's the same rule as with
other ecosystems out there and do your own research and make sure that you can be sure that the contracts
you are interacted with are audited by um companies that you are familiar with or you trust and don't just
go on something that it's all of it or unverified it's still um for the for the user to check out um why is
this is also because aster is a completely permissionless blockchain means that everybody
wants to build all the blockchain technology who wants to build on aster they can do it there are
no limitations as well and i think that's also the vision where blockchain should should go to
um but for you as the end user it's also ever it's also your responsibility to make sure that
everything is safe as well to be used
thank you very much for answering that question in detail my next my next question is um i'm still
on your docs um and i see that you guys are actually solving the problem of scalability
but um to be honest basically every layer two um every layer two blockchain based projects actually
have different approaches to solving this we saw more efficient than others while others make sacrifices in
order to ensure maybe for a higher transaction throughput or for maximum um um for for higher
transaction speeds uh for less taxes um in what criteria did um the aster network um how what
pros and cons or in what way did it balance everything while ensuring that there is um enough scalability to
go around um the possible million hundreds of millions of users that will be coming onto the network
okay um yes and this is something where in our case polka dots helps a lot um first of all i would like
to say there is no um best blockchain there's no perfect blockchain and that's why i very emphasize
and thinks that um every blockchain has its own use case and will attract its own developers
uh and it's those group of developers and and use cases that needs to look out what are the other
possibilities and try to make like interaction with those other blockchains uh like i said we don't want
astor to be like a solo chain we want astor to be like uh a cross chain and using other toolings and
other technologies out there as well so you as a builder need to always decide where do you want to build
your that are you looking for a place where you have like one second um um on chain finality of each
block with your transactions or are you looking for um maybe a 10 second chain but it's much more secure
so it depends on different kinds of factors but coming back to your question regarding scalability
um where um polka dot comes in is that they have a scalable solution that is built out from day one and
and this is the power of the substrate framework and meaning that every blockchain who's connected to
polka dots um is one of the shard that is connected and it's one of the shards that is connected to the
whole ecosystem of polka making it a sharding solution be in place the moment there are like two
blockchains connected and to the relay chain of polka dots another thing is in in this case is that later
one there will also be asynchronous um block finality where it will be also much faster and in case of
utilizing the security of polka dots makes it also much scalable much scalable and another thing
regarding um using um polka dot in this sense for the scalability is with the substrate framework
it's very easy to do focus up focus upgrades meaning for instance let's say there was like a new
technology or a new way of improving the current system or improving the current technology it's
possible for the developers to put this new technology on chain and makes it available after a certain block
without doing any forking without doing anything that's that you already are familiar with that's
currently a theorem that there needs to be a fork after fork fork uh but with this technology of
wasn't with the technology of substrate it makes it possible to like a focused update so we as well
as star let's say we have like a transaction speed is now at 12 seconds we want to implement the
asynchronous um transaction between uh polka dot relay chain we can also upgrade our runtime um our engine
to a better system to a more uh faster system without the end user even knowing it so the moment it's
in the block it's executed it starts and there's no need for a hard fork there's no need for exchanges
to change their their rpc nodes or their nodes there's no need to change anything on the the front end for
the user everything is done like in the runtime it's done like with this with the technology of stuff
straight and rust makes it possible so we are ready for the future of scalability the moment it's
needed to have that scalability you're saying as well let's say there are like billion of users using
your network how are you ready for scaling this is something that we will see on the road towards that
one billion of users because we have the power to upgrade and improve our ecosystem as the way we are
going uh and this is the power of using the substrate framework or using the polka.sdk in this case
wow that's that's that's actually great you just convinced me that uh the aster aster is last
ecosystem is actually i'm ready to evolve as flexibly as possible to support the many millions of users
that will be coming um thank you very much for providing the detailed answers to my questions i'm
i wish you guys the very best and i hope the astra ecosystem stays for each one word what's
you noah thanks a lot noah thank you captain levi great questions and i think we have venice next
um and then we'll go to marvelous and then we'll finish out with rahmat
okay uh thank you uh noah okay uh i have a question uh like uh is it possible for a developer to
access d apps that have already been developed by other developers under the build to earn program
and uh can they optimize or enhance the functionality of these d apps to earn rewards in aster tokens
uh did you get my question martin i think you're um oh sorry i was muted sorry yeah yeah no always
happens to me all the time thank you thanks for your questions a question uh and that is um so
regarding our build to earn program as well adapt seeking solution so regarding those um d apps who are
listed there they are live depths they can be used now they can be used um the moment they are listed
there because one of the requirements to join um this taking mechanism as a developer you need to make
sure that you bring value to our ecosystem you can bring value to our ecosystem if you are just um
writing your code at that point so the moment you are launching your your tab your your
the tab is ready to be used you can be part of our mechanism so the users can ensure that the moment
this that is listed they can check them out and if they see like okay i really like this they can start
sticking on them and the developer can start earning um the unstoppable grants that that they are
entitled to because they bring the value to resta and so coming back to your question are those
steps already available yes they are so if you would go to our network if you go to our website a startup
network and you go to our portal you go to that seeking you see those applications they are ready
to be used and you can be part of the community as well okay and uh as we have a very detailed
explanation about the ambassador program uh on your website so uh if someone from the non-crypto community
wants to become an esther ambassador are there any training sessions or educational resources available to help them
learn about the necessary skills and knowledge required to be an effective ambassador and will they be able to
learn from fellow ambassadors or receive guidance from the esther team or fellow ambassadors uh who understand the native language as they uh speak
um yes they do um so everybody who is interested in supporting esther network who's interesting and supporting um as the rest as
whole and try to educate your local community about our technology we do have an ambassador program and this ambassador program um helps you it trains you it gets you involved um or gets you um
um all the knowledge that you need to to talk about esther and so our ambassador groups they also have like one monthly call with the core team of esther
where they will can ask questions as well to the core developers to to me as um had a foundation they can talk with our head of marketing they can talk with our
dev files or dev devs and ask them just questions related that they wanted to know because they got it maybe from a community
um and they want to have like a more deep dive and deep dive into an answer and want to hear it from from our core team itself
and so yes it's possible to have like training as well from core team as part of the ambassador program you have we already have a great pool of ambassadors who are more than happy to guide you
um and all the things you want to know and all the things you want to know about esther and then we are also an active community as well
who's always open to answer any questions that you might have related to esther um
and then there's also another um
tribe that you can do is a technical ambassador those are more for the ambassadors who
have like developer experience and who wants to learn other um junior developers to learn more about
the building with um wasn't smart complex or epm smart objects as well thank you for your question
thanks yeah please all mine and thank you so much for answering my questions
thanks venice we got uh marvelous next
um okay um hi everyone i hope i'm audible enough yep you're audible okay sorry about the background
um um i think venus asked um kind of a similar question to mine because i was about to ask since um you
guys are pushing for the next one billion blockchain users or one billion web 3 users um will there be any
form of um in real life events or in real life boot camps to you know and or introduce people to the
blockchain events and um will there be any sort of um program to support communities that are trying to
bring up more web 3 users and more web 3 developers
thanks for your question uh marvelous so um we at astar we are active on the
most famous events the recent one was in denver like i said as well like we will be on the tokyo
um in a couple of weeks um in a couple of weeks we will also be at consensus we have the
and korean blockchain we get token 2049 um the build asia the so many events happening in europe so we
you will see us um at most of the events so if yes well um apart as well um from the african community
we have one coming up in kenya next week uh where we as well will be part as well of dot safari and
that safari is bringing poker out into africa where we will have as well workshops um a boot available
for all the developers who are interested in that three and so if you are from kenya if you do join and
and jump in the venue of dot safari and meet some of our core members as well because we will have
members um from our core team who will be traveling to this event as well to talk with the um everyone
who's interested in met3 um at those events so we are at most of the events out there so you will find
us just look for the blue ring uh the logo of astar and just grab us and ask all your questions
um offline as well thank you okay um i'm actually from nigeria so but i will look for you know more
events and more programs that the astar will be part of and um i also wanted to ask about the ambassador
program how can one be an ambassador for astars or aptos and you know um do the comments on astars and
um include the um environment and then include the web3 user user interface and the web3 user
experience for um crypto natives and also not two natives who are interested in being part of the aptos network
um okay so regarding joining the ambassador program just go to our website astar.network on the
um on the header you will find community you will find all the links you need to do
you can join our discord and you can even join our african community as well on telegram who's also
very active but you can ask any questions that you might have regarding astar we have active
ambassadors who are more than happy to guide you in the right direction how to apply where to apply
what are the requirements as well um but to get started just go to our website you will find all
the information there thank you all right thank you very much um i have no questions thanks for
the introduction thank you marvelous and then we have rahmat last and we'll wrap things up yeah thank
you now i have one question so regarding to tweet i read pima studio is involved in several gaming
projects within astar ecosystem could you provide more information how pima studio is helping game
developers create games on the astar network and additionally i'm interested in knowing if there are any
plans to create your own sdk with unity and unreal integration for game developers
okay um i will immediately start as well with your with your second um question so yes we do have our
building out our own unity sdk this is um not done only by us but you can see it more as a
polka dot unity sdk where we are part of it so like i mentioned before we are looking for creating
um innovation looking for a way of utilizing multiple blockchains in your game or in your next step
so with this immunity sdk that we are currently developing this is together with um um with another
blockchain who's built on polka dots iuna they already they already built out some games and this sdk will
have aster as well integrated into this so the moment the game needs smart contracts those smart
contracts will be deployed in aster and all the other gaming aspect that will be done on blockchain
will be done in their gaming environment chain um this is where we come in so we do working on an
sdk regarding uh they built out um some easy to use templates as well as sdks for every evm and game
developer out there who wants to deploy an aster they just make it easier for um new game developers to
easily deploy on aster evm site and later on they will also create something for the other environment
that we have for the wasn't that's um everything that i have to say regarding your question awesome
awesome thank you so much thank you so much ever to you no thank you yes thank you rahmat martin we
are at the top of the hour i want to thank you so much for coming on today it's been a pleasure talking
to you learning about astar network it's something that i was not familiar with at all and doing a deep
dive it seemed like there was a wide array of different documents and sources and places to
learning and as i went down the rabbit hole it seemed like i just ended up with more and more
questions so i appreciate you coming on here providing clarity dropping some knowledge on us and
there's any closing thoughts that you want to share with the audience go ahead and do so now but
otherwise it's been a pleasure thanks a lot for your time noah thanks a lot for offering me
time on your space thanks for everybody participating in this space and thanks a lot for your questions
um like noah saying the moment you dive into a star you can go into a rabbit hole and you get more
and more questions but do not feel um i would say to not see this as a blocker see this as an opportunity
to do something else that's nobody else is doing and we are more than happy not only me but the whole
community that we have we have over 100k members and i'm more than happy to support you with any
question that you that you might have um and hopefully we see each other at the events just
tap on my shoulder and i'm more than happy to start a conversation with you thanks for your time noah and
thanks for offering me the time uh or the time on your space as well brilliant martin thank you i hope
to run into you soon at one of these events whale coin talk community you're listening to another
episode of the aquarium today we had martin from astar network on remember that everything you
hear on this broadcast is meant for educational purposes only nothing is financial advice so be
safe out there and we'll see you all in the next one very soon take care
