oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh,
Hi, Lucas. I 45B. Oh, I don't know. Maybe this network is bad.
Hi, Lucas. You're muted. I am. Yeah, I was just waiting for so my browser to stop jumping around.
It's really tricky. If I don't ask to come up, it it immediately jumps around and I lose sound.
So now it's. I think it's okay. Okay. Nice to hear you. Yeah. How are you? How how have your
how has your day been today? How's my day been? Yeah, I spent like the last nine hours producing
three videos of two minutes most. So in the morning, a friend was asking about what is
this Web3 thing, and I started creating an analogy with streaming, like the same way there's Netflix
and a number of other alternatives to Netflix. There's Bitcoin, a number of alternatives to Bitcoin,
and so that became a video that I wanted to record because we were promoting the Web3 workshops.
So I spent my whole day working on video. Can you? Um, thanks for sharing. Um,
I hope you were not too stressed with the video editing. No, my friend does the video editing.
I do the speaking and the subtitle rectification. You know. Hmm. Yeah,
it's good to have him to to do that because it's the only thing that I never could do editing video,
and he's very fluent. So. Awesome. That's great. Yeah. Thanks. Yeah. For me.
Thursday's are usually very tight days for me, so I'm jumping from one stuff to another, and um,
yeah, Friday's are always very tough for me, and I don't even understand how and why most
of the things that I am doing are being jam packed on Thursdays. Mhm. And it's it's tough.
So it's the peak of your week, like in terms of intensity. Yeah. Yeah. Right. Right. Yeah. Well,
it's done now. Now you can just chill. You have a guest today, or no? Yeah,
today is just a newcomer support thing. The guests are on Friday, so today is just banter.
By the way, I am supposed to host a banter call tomorrow morning as well. I never,
I even forgot to schedule it or promote it. But tomorrow morning, UTC is the top
of the Cardano epoch, so we're going to be there for 40 minutes, 45 minutes,
just to yeah see who comes up. Yeah. Right. Hi, Professor Oak. Hi, Toby lover. Um,
I I'm not sure I've ever heard Professor speak before, but I am very familiar with the name.
We follow ourselves, we engage my posts and all, but I've never heard him speak before.
And I'm just curious who it could be. Maybe it's a white person or a black person. I don't know.
What part of the of the world, right? Yeah. Well, he seems to be in Pokemon, so maybe he's from.
Or not Japan or something. He seems to like anime. Mhm, anime kind of thing. Mhm. Cool. Right.
So you should if you can probably just um um look as how about you just create your space
for tomorrow now as well. Oh, to promote it. Yeah, and then I could, you know,
you could add it to something. Okay. Okay. Okay. I'm gonna just tweet it and schedule it
and and give me a minute. I want it. Thanks for motivating me to do that. Sometimes I'm really lazy
and I don't schedule it. I just wait for the right time and start it, and that's it.
But but it it had has happened as well that I am alone in the room and someone only comes up
in the last five minutes. Right. That's not good. I um see. YMC is here now. I think okay.
I think your network is better now. GM, GM, GM, Iomi. It's been a while hanging out
with the cool kids of Kadano. Yeah, YMC. It's been one thousand and one years.
Where have you been to? I I always miss your notification from your species.
I don't know what's happening. I'm not I'm not so active on X like before. Ah,
you have a girlfriend now, so that's why you're not active on X no more. Nah, so beloved, give me.
So I'm not leaving to activate on X on recent like before. Life done the touch me, nah.
Contributing money do confront me for me. Oh my God! Wait, you are your finance now, right? No,
I said a bloody undergraduate. But soon, shall let me do um IT defense first. You should do what?
For now, let me do IT defense first. Defense. Oh, that that means you're in year three. No,
year four. Think I follow now. Do four, five, four years course. Okay, I five years course.
I thought it's five too. Oh, so sorry, my dear. Before you know it, before you know it,
will be done, right? I don't blame you. Cause you don't know. See, see,
you need you need to be talking. You need to be talking to me with respect because I'm no
I'm no longer an undergraduate, right? So you have to respect me. It's not easy to be a graduate,
okay? On that on that gadget, kid. Oh, we lost YMC. We can't hear you anymore, YMC. Um, I see. Okay,
I hear you now. I thought we lost you. No, no, no. I'm here. I'm here. Oh, okay. So,
how have you been so far? How is it? And why have you not been active on X? What happened?
We can't hear you. We are not hearing you. I said I'm looking for money. You are looking for money.
Is is money also looking for you? Is money also looking for you? Amo, you die look for me,
or I don't look for you. I still have to look for it too. Nobody said that he look for.
Just the truth. Everyone has bills to pay, right? Yeah, everyone has bills to pay. Hmm. Except I,
except I, I am is providing for you. But what did you say? Actually, IOM is providing for you.
IOM is providing for who? I don't know. IOM guys, no. Ah, this boy. But yeah, I've been,
and also I switched using some platforms. I also start using other like LinkedIn and Substack.
Oh okay. Yeah, you've been actually. You even made me download the app on my phone. Yeah, I will.
I will stop writing safe. I no get strength again, but yeah, life has been life.
Consistency is very important, bro. I promise to remain consistent. Bro, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Life has been life. Consistency. Yes, and pure emotion is better than his smart boy.
How this will save all these? That's super cute. Hmm. So. Man. Yeah. Well, we just she regardless.
Now, how is everyone? How is Long Man? Hi, um, this is that guy that's joined the space.
What is his name now? Shall we log that time? How did? Yes. Really long, long time, yeah. Yeah,
I hope he joins. Anyways, um, I think he's busy, but I hope he has the time to join. Yeah, you know,
sometimes people are just busy with other things, and and it's very understandable, right?
It's very, it's very, very understandable. Yeah. Oh, look who we've got here!
We have Nat from Adelaide. Yeah, fighting my. Let me just hop out. What did you say?
What did you say? Uh. Okay. Um. Okay. So good mo. It's evening here, but I don't know
what the time what the time is at some places. But then, good morning, good afternoon, good evening,
wherever you are, and I welcome you to episode eighty nine of Kadano newcomer support.
This is a space where we talk everything Cardano, we have fun, we gist, we connect with people,
we educate ourselves, you know, around any um anything regarding blockchain, Web three,
and Cardano specifically. And um this is episode eighty nine, and right now I have. Forty five B,
look at from forty five B on the space. I have Yom C, I have Nat from Ada Link together here
with us, and I also have Tobiloba. And I hope we get, uh, more more people join us as we move on.
Um, if you can do me a favor by retweeting the space, I would appreciate that. Um, basically.
Last week on this space, we actually talked about because someone someone actually mentioned my name
in a comment. One of the few persons I, um, unbodied to Kadano. Hey, long one is finally here.
My favorite cost. You came late. You pay a fine, long man. You're going to pay a fine. So, um,
so some last week, someone mentioned me in a comment. One of the few persons I unbodied to Kadano.
Because there was a post about DREP or something, but I do not really understand what all
of that was about, and I was like, okay, don't worry, we'll talk about DREP and probably governance,
like anniversary of governance in Kaduna. I we spoke about that last week, and then
and I remember that when I started hosting this space, what we usually do before was that we have
a module. We have a module of things to talk about, and we're doing all of that. Like today,
we are talking about this. To next week, we talk about this. You know,
we had list of things to talk about, but along the line, things change because, uh,
when we come to the space, we just talk about so many things, different things, and then.
We don't really follow the module anymore. We just talk about things, things that
people just bring up on the space that they need, that they need clarity on, you know,
things like that. But then, so when this person now talked about the duvet thing last week,
I feel like maybe we should probably go back to how we used to do. I mean,
how we used to run this space. We had the module where we talk about this topic today,
this topic next week, and all. Yeah, so I've been thinking about that.
I'm thinking of maybe we should start doing that instead of just talking randomly. And also,
one of the things we also do on this space is that we we share posts. I mean,
we share trending posts from Cardano to the Jumbotron, so some people can get information
of what's going on. People that have not been like. Falling along with, can I not post?
You know things like that. We just had to jump through and discuss about it too.
Sometimes like that. I know. Um, before we move on today, hi, long man.
I guess you're wondering where I've been. I only. Oh my goodness. Ah, I was struggling with
my letter. That's where I came with. Um, G and G, everybody. How are you guys doing? How's it going?
How's the weather? How is the city treating you all? Like what's going on? And yeah. Well, for me,
um, I'm alive. I I bless God, but the weather is cold for me. You know, ah,
why are you three laughing about the Yomsi? Why? Why can't I be cold? Can't the weather be cold
for me? I'm just speaking for myself. The weather is cold, you know, but I'm managing.
I'm always with my pillow, you know. Yeah, so that's that for me. Said you're always with your. You
and I know that I am just a mile away from your current location. It may be like long man,
what's up? What are you doing? I'm doing nothing. Come over, and I will be at your doorstep within
within three minutes. Oh my goodness! Long man, you are you are not long enough to go
and cover this code. Yeah, yeah. Asking for permission. I thought we were chatting.
I already passed my boundary. I only have my boss now. The fact that the fact that long man's place
is not even far from my place. That that's just one funny thing. Like it's not even far.
Like his place is not far from my place. Hi Don Current, how are you doing? Oh, we have Olivier.
Well, I'm supposed to be fine, but I'm hungry. So as I'm feeling good, me,
I'm drinking tea so that you know I'm saying good. So yeah. Also, all
of them they always just single until we see wedding invite. Kai, no, that that one
is going to be no, that one is going to be. Ah, see, I don't know about that people.
There are things I don't hide. If I'm in relationship, is everybody knows that in relationship.
There's a lot of reason, guy. I love accountability. So that you not gonna see me toast who
I'm not supposed to toast. Me, I know myself. So yeah, for now, don't even get that time.
This sounds like something a liar would say. Don't current. Don't clean your mouth.
There's something that you know. How did you know? How did you know if you're not a liar?
Clean your mouth. There's something at the edge of your lips. Na milk,
na the milk I did drink for a bit. I seen I did see, but I'm already. I've I've mixed.
Let me turn it so that you hear it. Listen, listen. I na did see, na did see. But but jokes aside,
um, one of this is why I don't have any girlfriend now. Is that how should I be telling the girl
that the market is down? That's why I cannot buy her bone straight or she wants to change her wig.
You know all these kinds, small small this thing. A small thing they they use insult person, papa.
So me, I want to respect myself peacefully, gently, and hey, I don't want to hear um my ex boyfriend
did this to me. I don't want to hear that kind package for my life. You get, and again,
the main truth is that I don't want to be hearing um he's my ex, and if they punch the ex,
they come here don't current. Ah, no, no, please, I cannot be in that set, and that's why. So
when I'm when I'm ready to marry, hey, we can now disturb, kill ourselves. I will not do that, hey,
hey. But for now, I love being friends with everybody. Um, this thing might sound funny now.
Jokes aside. One thing about dating that I don't like is when you start dating,
you you people are limited to some certain things. You might not believe it,
shall you tell me yes that people are you put back bit together. We know all this that I used to do.
Yes, we know. But there's some conversation you guys can no longer have. Don't tell you people.
Now wait till you do. For instance, now um, if we like, let's use Ayumi for example.
Now we are friends, right? I can actually confidently talk about another lady with you,
and both of us will laugh about it, to catch crews about it. But if you start dating,
that kind is no. It can never ever possible. How do I explain that I saw a lady and I smiled at her,
and you ah, bro? There's a lot. Okay, now that um, why will be why will you be smiling at her?
What's funny? Exactly. Like, do you get what was funny to start with? Okay, now that me,
I don't even have time for myself. That there are times I'm I'm going to be shooting content
for straight seven hours or eight hours because of different things I want to do
or something like that. Well, I have a lot of videos to shoot. How do I explain to her
that I did not send them, baby? How was your night? Oh my relationship now work, you know,
go understand, shatty. You tired that one, but but that's by the way. Ah, how in a day now? Yeah,
me I don't talk as I do. Now I never talk in alone. I don't tell now. Um,
please before before before um we go deep deep deep and deep and deep and deep,
we have Olivier here. Olivier is an amazing person. Olivier, Olivia is from DRC, D R Congo. Um,
Olivier is a patriotic Kadano member. Olivier is an intersect MCC member.
Olivier is a midnight ambassador. And I think, and I think Olivia is also open source committee.
I'm I'm not sure, but yeah. Let me just stop there. Hi, Olivia. How are you doing?
Make Olivia not pick. Hey. Oh my goodness, Olivia! She oh my god! I mean, I I hope you are alright,
Sasha. What happened? Why did you go back to this last section? Will come back.
I think his girlfriend called him. That's why it dropped off. So he will definitely come back in.
You have to, you have to trigger Doncora. Can you guys hear me? Yeah. Oh, lala. Sorry, sorry.
I don't know when you are talking about me. I don't know why I am being putted out of the space.
I really am happy to get you you guys here. By the way, I arrived and I didn't find myself
on the topic in which you are. Really, I didn't find myself, but I'm really happy to be here.
As Iomish said, we are serving Cardano for long, long years and days. And Iomish is a friend of me.
I think we've met even in Nairobi on Cardano Africa Tech Summit. And I'm happy she's organizing
amazing spaces. She's a Cardano ambassador, and yeah, greetings to everyone here.
And let's go into a subject. I'm here to hear and even interact. Whether there will be something
on which I can interact. Thank you, everyone. Yes, it's more than our pleasure to have you
here today, Olivier. And I would, I, I, I ah, sometimes English fail me,
but I really appreciate all of all of the things you've been doing. You know, I,
I really look up to Olivier. Um, Olivier speaks French. Yeah, you, you would see why I was speaking
that the English no standard, but now French, and I like it when he speaks French.
He speaks French so sweetly. I really love it. Um, yeah. I see, um, Achiro.
I don't know if that has a pronunciation. Hi. Bonsoir, bonsoir, bonsoir, bonsoir. Oh,
we have another French person here. Hi. Comment Γ§a va? Bonsoir, bonsoir, Achiro. Γ‡a va bien, merci.
Et vous? Achiro, Γ§a va? Γ‡a va bien. Oui, je suis content de vous entendre. Vous vous Γͺtes un
francophone depuis oΓΉ, Achiro? Je parle un peu. Un peu, oui. Depuis quel pays, mon cher ami?
Je suis un NigΓ©rian, mais je, je, je, je, je, je t'ai dit Γ  l'Γ©cole, euh, euh, euh, RΓ©publique,
République de Benin. Oh, Benin, on parle oui français.
I trust Olivier.
Olivier wouldn't sell me on this space, but they have since. Wait, when I knew they have sold you
was when they involved Lucas. Lucas himself had to count himself out first. Lucas was like, "No,
I'm not involved though. Don't involve me." Oh, I am. I am the one to take over your space for you.
I was. I was like this. Arturo, the way he spoke, the French was not was not given. I nah,
je ne suis pas, je ne suis pas, je ne suis pas fran français. Avec which which one?
Mais je ne suis pas française, mais je je parle je parle bien. Is is my primary school is
my primary school French teacher that made me even understand what you guys are saying. If not,
I would have been lost like I am. Me, but I'm happy I was able to like follow you guys. So
if you want, I can even tell them what you guys are saying. But let me just give you some hint
of what they were saying. So Hashi was asking um Olivier where he's from. So he replied him.
He told him his country. Nah. Where he's actually staying? No, no. Actually,
he's actually staying right. You you you. Olivier asked where I was staying.
I told him I stay in Nigeria, but I school in Republic of Benin. Yeah,
and I also told him that I speak French, but not that very well. Should get so, Olivier, Olivier,
follow back. Nice to connect. Oh my, I finally see someone I can speak French to. It's uh,
c'est bon, c'est bon, c'est bon. Yeah, thank God. I suppose, don't overcharge,
but don't chop my sweet face. You know, we always organize French Kadano schools every end
of the month from the Congo, so we be happy. Please, please, please invite, invite me.
I think I'm in the matulΓ©. Thank you. Follow back. Okay. And everyone here, we can follow,
follow back. We are the same community, guys. Um, Ayomi, Ayomi, uh, well,
we're following each other. So thank you, thank you, thank you. I, I, I connect with my familia.
Only me. But this person allowed him to. But Ayomi, why don't you understand French? She's.
That's why she's feeling hot. Um, cold now. If now, but by now,
now she's supposed to be feeling hot. So don't worry. More even hot.
Wow! I thought I was even the one that was dragging. Oops. So um, meanwhile um, everybody,
you guys are welcome to the space. Um, favorite, welcome to the space.
And now to welcome to the space, Professor Frictional, Longman, and Toby Lober.
You guys are welcome to the space. So um, I am also hope all is well over there.
Favorite, can hear me? Um, I beg, I won't ask. She not only me, the observe this thing.
I be I'm overthinking. Guy, is it that is every two two days I be two two days?
X the push out updates, guy. Hmm. Yeah, there's a lot of there's a lot of bug that they are fixing.
So um, I think most of the major um update that they have now started with when they push them
super rock um 4.5. I even lost I even lost um my premium plus because of that
and up to now they have not given it back to me and I'm still I've been appealing for a long time
now. So the issue started after they push that super rock 4.5. So that's why. That was crazy, man.
Don't correct. I saw what you did, deal. You made me wrong, but in a ways I forgive you, regardless,
because I'm a nice person. Accused. How far now? I dunno. Ah, this one, I hey,
this one I on another space like this. What was going on? Bro, now, now, yeah, you and I
or me make me funny enough. Sorry, now you. Although I don't follow Ayomi for a very long time,
and I'm still wondering why I don't see her own notification. When are you?
I did see your own notification, guy. Bro, are we forgetting? I love man.
I am the love of your life. But yeah, I mean, you, guy, guy. Where is that coming from? Oh yeah,
welcome to the space, Atiro. Um, favorite big ups to you. Welcome. Uh, forty-five D GMGM to you,
Professor. I cite you, Nat Tobiola. GMGM, welcome to the space. I don't know. What did you say?
Kinda, kinda, kinda newcomers. You know, you know the welcome newcomers,
you know the onboard newcomers. Are you, you, you? I don't even know which blockchain
are you supporting. You are almost everywhere, bro. I am an on-chain Asher, but I want to,
I want to remain in one place. So I am still looking for. For the the better one,
so if you can convince me to to stay in Kadano, fine. I'll go stay. I'll go. I'll go rebrand.
I'll go do everything. No matter how solid the persuasion might be, Attila would never stay in
one spot. What do you mean? What do you mean? What do you mean? I am me. Your hands are up. Yes,
can you guys hear me? Yeah, we can. Oh my God, my life is bad. Good. Someone called me,
and my phone is on do not disturb. And the person called me, and I declined the call.
The person called again. The call. The person called again. Ah. That's how Yoruba people do.
That person is surely a Yoruba person. It's only old people that are supposed to be behaving like
that. But how would a young person behave like that? It's not nice. Um. Yes. So, guys,
so sorry for that hiccup. Um, I see a few persons joined again. I see favorite. I see Kit, Kit, Kit,
Money. I see Kit. I see Top Lobber, and I see Benedict. Thanks for joining.
This is Cardano Ecommerce Support X Space. Um, we host this space every Thursday, 8 p.m. UTC,
9 p.m. Nigerian time. We talk everything Cardano. We connect with people. We work minds together.
We just we have fun. We educate ourselves. We. Talk about opportunities.
We talk about you know anything that matters, anything that makes it any meaningful thing.
And aside from this, we usually host monthly project showcase, where we showcase cardinal projects,
so that people can know about some. I mean, cardinal projects, what they do.
You know things like that, and understand these projects better. You know by having them
on the space where committee members come and ask their questions for clarity and things like that.
So this is episode eighty nine of Kadano Newcomer Support. We talk Kadano, we have fun, we just
and things like that. Um, hi Kit. Before we go into the bone of contention, hi Kit.
How are you doing? Why are you eyeing me before we go to the point of contention?
Eh, let's go now. Let's go. I'mma say the boss now. Boss, go. Okada,
how is everybody doing? Oh my, it's been a while that I've been on spaces like that.
I joined one space recently, and this like the second one in months. I joined. Oh, I see Natalie.
I joined their Etherlink space. I think I I saw this guy. Eh, Don Current. I don't know. Yeah,
I joined one AdaLink space the other day, and this like the second one I'm joining in in years.
The last time I joined a space was also 45B. Coincidentally, is also here. Lucas, how you doing,
mate? Hey, nice to hear you. I'm I'm doing good, just working and hanging out, and all good. Yeah,
all good. Yeah, just ah, I don't know. I'm just feeling the vibe, sucking in the points to Ada.
What is Ada on currently? Yeah, so I'm just riding the wave. I'm focusing on my life.
I don't go dust my CV since it I no rise. But yeah, that's another another thing to talk about for
another day. But anyways, oh, I also I registered for this. I don't know.
I think you're the one organizing it. I am me. This Kadano event. Are you the one organizing it? Uh,
the one at Lagos State University, Lasso, right? Okay, the the pro the event. Um, no,
I'm not one organizing it. It's actually a project from. I don't know if you know Mister Bernard
from Oxygen. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah. I know Mister. Yeah, so. Yeah, so he's working on, like,
having five, project. Ah, sorry, five events in. African countries
like five different African countries, you know, just to have a casual meet up and all. Is it so?
Is the owner? Is it still? Is it developers? Develop um development centered?
Cause I know he does development things. No no no no no no. It's just. It's everything. Yeah,
everything. Because there was one time that okay, let me not even say that one. I'll not say
that one in the public space. I'm not saying it on the public space. Ah, we cannot go.
Cannot go talk. But anyways, yeah, that's it really. So is
but he's not going to be there physically now. No no no no. He will not be there. But just.
Like wanting me to just uh work with. I'll be very surprised if he's if he's going to be there
because that man was the you you should have you should have been at the convention. In fact,
it was going to be the uh was it alternate or delegate? I can't remember which one it was,
but he deferred from being the. He said he wasn't. I don't know what happened then,
but he said he couldn't go there. So I'll be very surprised if he if he actually shows up like in
in person. But yeah, Coxiching Global they've they've been around in in Kadano in especially
in Africa for a for a while like. Just just as long as water, I believe. So yeah, nice one.
I don't know. I registered, but ah, Saturday. Ojo is too far from where I am. But I was planning.
I was planning to come because I was going. It was going to be like on my way to somewhere.
But now it feel like they don't cancel that place where I did go. Yeah, yeah,
but like Ojo is very far from where I am. Ah, the stress of Lagos traffic, the smell of petrol.
Which one is? Which one is the smell of petrol? Is that not what makes it sweet? Asao. Okay,
now you you don't have motion sickness. I I have motion sickness, so yeah. Okay. Um. Guy, try come,
try come, guy, come. Achu, will you be there? Like I don't even know when it's happening.
When is it? When is it? I actually added, I I added the the post on the jobbotron.
You see where I made the post about if you're inside Lagos, Nigeria, there's a calendar meetup
coming up to Saturday. Which which which Saturday? Next tomorrow. Yes, next tomorrow. Mo,
I for like come, but I no get clothes. Yeah. Ah, come. Time apart. Time apart. Come. On on board.
On board me first. On board me first. Um, I see. Apologies, Benedict. Hi, Benedict. Hello, GMGM.
Everybody, can hear me? Yeah, louder, clearer. Absolutely, absolutely. So,
how are we all doing today? You know, it's you know, so I see great one being here. Um, you know,
the last time I saw a Cardano space, it's been a while. Absolutely, you know,
it's one of my favorite projects so far. And I did say, you know, when I started my conviction
for the the whole Web3 space and you know, crypto thing, Cardano has always been one
of my favorites, and you know, I still believe in it. So I was just scrolling by.
I just saw the space, and I was like, yo, let me jump in and know what's cooking here,
and Absolutely, I would say you guys are doing a lot, and yeah, keep it up.
I love what I'm seeing here. So, um, I'll be having a meeting in the next five seconds. So
before I go, um, Don Current, I don't know, can you hear me? Yeah, sure, sure, James. Absolutely,
I just want to hop on your DM so we could talk about a partnership. I I love what your community
is building. So, um, if it's possible, I love us to talk about a partnership. So you know,
we see how we can collaborate. Yeah, sure, sure. I'm always open to that. Did you come for Kadano?
You came for Doncora? You came? Yeah, oh, yeah, absolutely, absolutely. No, no, no, no, no, no,
Allah Shah. Yeah, you got, you got, you got me there. You got me there. You know, Kadano. No,
don't worry, don't worry. Kadano has one of my best. In fact, the last time I, you know, trust
while I go hacked, that was I was still, you know, into what do they call? I was doing a BNB project
and you know I I got the wrong link and then you know my trust Doncora. So don't worry, sir.
Don't worry. Don't worry. Me, I'm, me, I'm your DM, sir. Me, I'm your DM. Anything that happen,
anything you give me like ten percent of whatever is giving you, sir. No worry, me, I'm your DM.
Absolutely, and you know I will always hang around. And next time I'll, I'll take
more time on the space, you know, to know each and every one of you here, connect,
and let's see how everything goes. So thank you very much. I really appreciate. Thank you.
See you around. Ah. Um, this guy, um, kid. What? Ah, because I want money now.
When they were sharing money. No, no. When did they make me laugh now? But he said,
"Did you come here for Cardano or Dogecoin?" Yes, now like when you were like, ah, I know, I know,
Dogecoin is an OG and is a boss, so. Obviously, me maybe there's something that me I don't know,
I don't know, no, no, like that about him that he might know about him
or so that let me quickly talk so that the current can current something so to me, oh,
and let me open my mouth. They say close mouth, they close something, something. Right,
they close something, something. Yeah, yeah. So um, when I started this space, long man,
I I think long man was here. A couple of us were not here then. So I said that when we started,
when we first started this space on my previous account, long before, if you can remember,
we had modules like we had topics of what we discuss on each space, right? But then as time goes on,
the whole thing changed because we started talking randomly, like we started talking about
different things going on on Cardano on these spaces, just like um we've been doing for a couple
of months now. So I am not thinking that. Would it be a nice idea? We should go back to doing that,
or we should just keep talking randomly based on updates, like the latest trend on Calan.
We just talk about it and just and all. What do you suggest, Longman? Well, now you be the boss,
but I'm actually cool with this one. This one that we are doing. See, those time when we started,
Ayomi was like, "You have to go and learn about decentralization. Go learn about web one, web two,
web three." Now I'm like, even this uni lag that I am studying mathematics, go. I don't,
I'm not like today. This lady was like, "Go and study. You come and contribute." I was like,
"Oh God, be calming down, Ayomi." I am cool with this with this pattern. You see,
the ones we were doing before, I had to open um this in X on one um tab,
and I open ChatGPT in case Ayomi asks me or because she does sharply enter ChatGPT
because ah I don't want to fall Ayomi's hand. Can you imagine, Ayomi? Do you? But at the same time,
I'll prefer this this one we have been doing. Long man, unrelated but slightly related. Um,
you said you're studying maths in uni. Like, what level might you be? Alpha Bruski, of your,
of your, your, of your. Hey, you don't know long man. Hey, you don't know long man. Aduro,
he knows me as he knows me as Aduro. Okay, I know you as. Okay, come down. I was like the voice was.
I know no long. All of you are using strange names on Twitter now. Ah,
I know because I saw know that you started mas as you like or like. And this voice was looking like
voice that you call you you. Me, I did that. I'm not starting mas. So it's mas. Mubarak, keep.
You see Mubarak in my profile now. Click on my profile. You see Mubarak there.
You see my picture now. Ah. Ah, but this one I use picture of NFT, picture of NFT. I don't,
I don't understand what's going on. NFT with no smarts and with no smarts,
he can't name himself Longman again. I don't know that we are. And and you
and you not saying no tall self now. Why did you invest you ba? And no ah, you tall past me oh.
Na person we no tall, na person we short past me. Naing of exports. Err,
I don't know that we are united in Doctor Alouds before ah. We don't suffer topology together.
Don't worry, brother. Yeah. So how many people? How many of our class? You're able to survive.
You're able to survive. Math, math is ordinary. Layer one and layer two. Come, they had you.
You should say. You should say. You should say. Even go class. I be.
You chop your school fees, guy. You know. You know anybody will graduate. Math. No worry. Smart.
Okay, guys. Um, am I working? Or you can hear me? No. You're getting to properly. No, not this time.
Um. So. I want to quickly talk about what we have on the jumbotron, and then we'll give the mic
to our amiable Mister Fireman. We all know the Fireman. Okay, yeah, yeah. Okay. So, Lucas,
do you mind just talking about the banter thing? Sure. So, yeah, you know,
there's in Cardano an epoch every five days, and usually the you are you know as long
as things go well and and everything is running and ticking, the epoch boundary
when the epoch changes is in the evening, in the UTC evenings. There was someone
that used to used to organize the epoch's end, which was always in our evenings,
and that person has actually suspended that. Now there's someone else that's going to take over
the evenings. I think Quasar from Hardfork Cafe is going to do that. And because we are Europeans,
and because we live in this time zone, we share that with you guys. Most of you here, right?
So we wanted to do something that's not late evening for Cardano, and the same way that Cardano
for coffee happens in the morning for America, we wanted to have something that's every five days
happening in the morning for Europeans and Africans and people of you know time zones
that can make it. So, for example, we've had people from New Zealand and Australia joining,
and we call this the top of the epoch because it's in the top of the epoch.
We call this the epoch hump banter. You know, so the same way usually people say Wednesday is
the hump day because it's the middle of the week. We call this the epoch hump because it's
the middle of the epoch. So it's the epoch hump banter. You don't, you know,
we all know what banter is. It's what you're best at in these spaces, at least.
So that's the introduction. There's a pin tweet. The space
is scheduled for tomorrow. It's actually like in 12 hours or something, right? So come by.
And thank you, Aiyomi. Yes, thank you, Lucas. So you guys join Lucas tomorrow.
I will also be there for the top of the how how does he put that top of the epoch banter?
How you put it? Epoch hump banter. Okay, epoch banter. So you guys will be there to have fun,
you know, enjoy yourselves and all. And um, also another thing I added here is um.
A post from Cardano community that digest. Um, for those that you know,
I've been busy with whatever they're doing, and they don't have all the time to know what's going on
on Cardano. There's this initiative called um Cardano community digest.
It's like um a summary of the latest you know latest trend or what the latest. News
or information going on in the ecosystem, so you can always check it out.
I think they they do it every week, I guess is it every week or every month? Ah, sorry,
I can't think. I think it's every week. I'm not sure, but um, if you check the the post,
you will see there to get the recap of what's going on. I also added a post where I talked about um
a Carabon meetup coming up this Saturday. That is in the next two days. Um, it's happening live at
the Lagos State University. I will be there live. You know, to Um, connect with people, have fun,
and all. And also, oh, I made a post. Yeah, I made a post about origin of Cardano. If you want to,
um, I created an extract. So, uh, for those that are new or just want to like get the whole, um,
maybe an overview of the genesis of Cardano, I made an extract. You can check it out as well.
And if you want to know more, go to Cardano Academy. Yes, that is where you get
authentic information. That's what I, I tell people to go. And also yes, there is a post from Seba.
I pin it up there as well. His ex name is Individual Digital Seba. Seba is one of the staff of
Cardinal Foundation. He made a post about Cardinal projects. So he categorizes them
into their five different categories, like DeFi wallets, hardware wallets, stablecoins.
Tokenization, AI, blah blah blah, and lots more. So you can check it out to explore
different Cardano projects as well. Um, yes. So I just wanted to like give us um all of that,
and now I want to pass the mic to. Oh, fireman left already. You dropped the mic. Oh shit,
I didn't know. He dropped the mic. Maybe network or something. But let me try to send him.
An invitation again. I only. Yeah. Um, 45b. 45B did not actually mention the time or the space. Oh.
Oh, it's it's um, let's see, 9:22 UTC in the morning. We start at this hour because we do 45 minutes
around the top of the epoch. The top of the epoch is at 9:45 UTC. Okay. So that's 10:45 in Nigeria
and in Portugal. If you click on the space on that tweet, zero, you can see the space link there. So
when you click on the space, it will show the time in your local time zone.
So you can just set reminder. From what I can see, is ten twenty three Nigeria. So. That's it.
Thank Thank you so much. I need to remind people to pin it and get a reminder. Yeah. Ah shit. I
and I want TCK to give us some. Fire talks, but oh my god, I don't know. Is Ziki also using glow?
Because I don't understand. What? What do you fuck? Make it. Eh eh eh eh. I we. I mean,
take that back. What do you mean? Is he using glow? Ah ah. Why can't I? Just this for glow, okay?
Glow. I don't understand. Don't be human. Just this for glow, sir. Don't be human. Be they use glow?
Long man, they use glow. Eh? Why you call the? Long man. Wait. They use glow.
Are you the louder one? Wait, kids, kids, kids. People where they use glue, no get life.
I don't understand. What do you mean? Don't vex us, sir. Your gludiness. I they use glue. 4G guy.
As the idiots, the idiots, they no greed. Do 5G. They are meant to. They are meant.
They are meant don't go forward. Then they see the 1995 guy. Glue 5G. You are expecting 5G
from glue. It's like you're expecting good governors from Kinombo. But but bro,
they have if they have 5G here, amma, it'll go beats any other network for 4K, man.
Their 4G is the better part, empty and 5G. Yeah now, but only for Ekiti state. Bro, are you crazy?
It even for Lagos state here, guy. The why? I don't hear you. No Allah. Okay, you go Allah.
You say so. Guess what? The fire my fireman finally grabs the mic. Hi, CK. What's up, Iomi? Man,
I'm over here like 3G is hell. I don't know what's coming in. I don't know what kind. Yeah,
using glue, but it's. Bro, when they use what pass glue safe like. 3G, bro. Bro, oh yeah,
bust your head. 3G glue better pass. It's a 4G. Yeah. Not talk this thing outside. If he beats you.
Bro, serious. Long man have been now. Long man have been. If we should not interrupt our fireman.
Have they? You should allow CK to talk. Have they? It's all good, guys. It's good. I don't.
I don't even know if you got if you can hear me, Iomi. But but I hear you, Kit, and I hear you, HAC,
and I hope everyone's having a good day out there. I think the app is doing is updating again.
Like my emojis are changing, and there's all kinds of stuff. So so yeah, man. Shout out to you.
Shout out to you, Iomi. Episode 89. Cardano newcomers support. This market
is looking good right now. You know, it's it's we're back over 81. Again, we've got a major vote in
the United States on September 15th, and that's the. Hey man, I think that that's gonna gonna
likely fail, and and the market's gonna give back some of this motion.
So it's probably gonna be good trading, but don't you know I wouldn't get
too too irrationally exuberant yet. But I do think that the the markets are are heating up
really well. On Cardano's side, man, it's it's it's interesting. It's like There's signs of life.
I I'm looking really closely at what Fluid Tokens is releasing. They said I think September 9th.
They've got some major announcement of some kind. Hopefully it's related to their
Fluid Tokens Bifrost Bridge, some Bitcoin DeFi and UTXO DeFi upgrades that that should be really
really exciting to to follow up with. And then yeah, you know, other than that.
I've been I've been thinking more and more that it might be time for for a cook.
It might be time to to try to to launch to launch a project to help. I mean, really, man,
give give an alternative to the current power structure in Cardano. The people that are fed,
it's you know, it's frustrating. But that's a that's a different conversation.
But but I think I think we're gonna have a nice little a nice little wave here at
the end of the year to to to make some to make some momentum happen on Cardano. You know,
I just hope that. We can stay unified and communicate and have a coalition that can have
some success in a way that is that is sustainable, you know. Because we just we just we need
more winners on Cardano. We need to get a contingent of people on Cardano that have liquidity
and stable coins and enough capital where we can keep it productive. Um, but yeah, in general,
I guess that's kind of what I've got. I'm I'm over here trying to figure out.
I'm like kit with all my gadgets trying to trying to make sure that this the space stays up, but.
But yeah, Iomi. I hope you're having a great day. Shout out to Longman, the legend.
Shout out to Don. Uh, good to see you, bro. Shout out to 45. I like what you're putting down there,
man. About like a new, a new regular kind of meetup to take the place of Epoch's end
when that when that that that wound down. Um, and because because I know that you also are are
really interested in cultivating community and moving forward so that we can have something that
that that really lasts and that that lives up to the promise of what we can be
and what we can build. Long Cardano, like I mean, this is a recorded space, but I'll say I'll say.
This like this way. Unfortunately, a lot of the winners on Cardano are are
they're kind of picked into a lot of the advantage. So one of the things that I'm working on
is trying to establish a multi-chain coalition outside of Cardano that we bring into Cardano,
kind of stealth and stealth launch a project. Because as we all know, if a
if a project runs on Cardano, everyone's going to see. You know, I mean, you know, pour one out,
R I P Tap Tools. But now we've got things like Bitbird AI, we've got Lumber Tools X Y Z.
But all of which is to say that if a new if a new project launched and became
the most successful project. On Cardano, that it would not be hard to stand out because there's
like there's like three, you know, you got Snec, you got like Strike, and you got.
I've got my eyes on Ascend, that you hope that they do well, but there's very few winners, you know.
Shout out to ION, they're always doing something, you know. Um, but I'm encouraged by the way
where if we if we got really strong coalition and we made sure that the liquidity pools
were done correctly, um, so that it wasn't just kind of advantaging the same players,
that we could basically establish a coalition that can and honestly, if we do it right, uh,
create a new power structure within Cardano. That would be one. Of the almost um the the kind
of sidequest that we would achieve just by having a financially successful project, you know, so
like the chief objective wouldn't be necessarily to make a check and balance on the powers
in Cardano. Um, it would be to just have a financially successful project, but in so doing,
we would be able to break through a lot of the walls that that currently exist on Cardano. So um,
so yeah, if I if I can live up to to what I'm what I'm kind of building in my brain
and what what seems like it's making sense, I think launching something um either leading into
Halloween or on Halloween night could be a lot of fun. I'm working on two primary causes right now.
Writing a book about Bitcoin blockchain and utility, get so based interoperability,
and then also thinking about getting this coalition together and launching a project on Cardano. So,
so as we'll see. But yeah, I will land the plane there because again, I'm not even sure
how much this is going through. If I'm still connected to the internet or not,
but I hope you have a great day out there. And cheers to you and the Cardano newcomers' support.
Episode eighty-nine, man. You guys. Was that the only one hearing CK's? We understood everything.
Yes, you were the only one. You were the only one, Oyomi. Don't ask him to explain anything again.
We understood everything. It's never about me telling him to explain.
Like I was not even hearing it. It was so fast. Your internet was rocking.
The rest of us heard well. Oh, really? Nice. Um, I could not hear him clearly,
but I think he's gone already. I did not really enjoy CK today, oh, because of his network.
Normally, CK would have given us some. Some nice, you know, some nice things tonight. But then,
yeah. And I think AK is also struggling with the network. I think AK is also a Glo user. Hi, AK.
Hello, my love. Oh, sorry. Hello, I hear me. How are you doing? I actually forgot. Um, Longman
and Omkaren are in this space. Um, I could have proceeded with my love. Hi, guys.
It's actually nice. I've been struggling with network. I've been trying to jump up
to the speaker row, but it has been very, very bad. Very, very bad. I think, hot take
or slightly cold take. I think we need to bring more Nigerian women into Cardano Web three,
into Cardano basically, and even Web three in general. And I'm actually serious.
Like I'm just thinking about it. Like representation would see like ten to fifteen.
Most of the people, most of all the people that I know in Cardano, I'll count like
ten to fifteen men before I count a woman, and that's actually not good. Just saying,
and it doesn't mean and. It's not really because women are not interested in web serial tech.
It's just because most of the unboxing bra of it is not very, is not inclusive enough. I guess,
yeah. And it was while we were in this space that one person would accept the mic
and come up to talk. And before we hear it, we just hear the voices. One Ashmell voice talking.
Anyways, yeah, that's just it. Unbox me. I've been graced to be Odogun.
I've been making you onboard myself. I love you, bro. Unboard me. I'm I'm a newcomer, bro.
I don't I don't even know what Kadano is. You get me? I I joined the space uh because of Longman
and Ayomi, but I don't even know what Kadano is. So yeah, I saw Kadano newcomer support. So I felt,
you know, coming here as a newcomer, I would get onboarded. If tie Ayomi for neck, bro. Bro,
I've been. I've been choking her, like choking her, but yeah, she's not. But she's.
So I've been choking her, yeah. Please don't choke me! Please don't choke me! I like in a good way.
Wait, two people have been choking yourself. Okay, continue. I don't understand. Please,
I don't want to die here. No, no, no, no. I mean, not not the choking in a bad way.
I meant the good way. You get. Long. Again, I repeat. Two people have been choking yourself.
Long man, stop stop laughing. But seriously, seriously, seriously, yeah, we listen, we don't judge.
But seriously, yeah, you guys should don't bother me into car and okay.
But but like like long man like long man has said, I I did, I'm an ashew entrepreneur. I'm here,
I'm there. I'm into. I'm looking at the tech. The tech is nice. I see a new tech here. I move.
But yeah, yeah. Come to think of it, I feel I'm tired of my ashew era is. It's going to an end. No,
no, no, no. You know that. You know that. I suspect. Kids, wait first. You know, kids,
before you come for me, yeah. I'm not coming for you. Um, Iyomi, Iyomi, Iyomi, Iyomi. Iyomi,
like you said, yeah. I once an ashero is always an ashero, but that's a lie.
You don't expect an ashero of each five years to to you can't compare that with an ashero of
twelve years, bro. So yeah, I'm in my retiring era. Like see the way he's explaining
that he's buttressing the concept of Asha Wunizen. I am I am in a retiring era,
so I need a. We don't hear you. We don't hear. We don't hear. Old old kid for next.
But before before let's just. I don't understand. Who is the host of this space? It no matter now.
I could be the. I am. I am. Why? Why are you? I am. Why are you like this? Help me ask her. Like
why is she like this? The thing is that she carry space. She carry. Okay, okay, okay, okay. Hold on.
You carry space. Carry all of us. Put for space. All both us now. See how they do. Yeah, yeah. All.
All. Uh. Constit. Constitutional delegates. I be alternate. I be wish on the U B. I don't know
where you go represent Kadano. Where we say you they part of those people. Where sign, kids.
Me I not talk. Oh, I beg. Blessed, blessed, blessed. I not talk. This person
blessed has been raising their hands. See you people. You all of Nigeria, kids.
Now you go represent us. Blessed is blessed. One to speak. Because it's not like this. Blessed,
you can unmute your mic and talk. Ah, please, blessed. Don't listen to what Ayomi is saying.
Before blessed. Yeah, jam jam everyone. Can you hear me? No vex, sorry, please.
What kid said earlier is actually very legit. I mean, the part of um, we need more women, you know.
And very for sometimes I get bored, to be honest. Um, bored in the sense that um, I mean,
I don't mean bored like I get bored like I'm not like I lost interest in what I'm doing.
Watch animal. Watch animal is going to okay from this one. Like I just needed that vibe from a woman
like me as well, just to um. You know, rapport and do things together, and doing to spark more,
more lights and all. I'm not saying that we can't actually do that. I can't actually do that
with men. I mean, I work with men all my life. It's with men. Yeah, you can collect it though.
It's a female though. Are you? Are you me? Are you me? You know what? I can help you in that aspect.
Yeah, just onboard me, and when I am fully onboarded, I will definitely bring the females over.
Okay. Otake, okay. Let blessed, let blessed talk first. After blessed talk,
I would say what I want to say. It's a reply to this thing that is that Archie
and I. Can you hear me now? Can you hear me now? Can you hear me? We can hear you. Yeah,
we can hear you. Can you hear me? Another blue user. We can hear you. You know, the thing is, uh,
I don't like, I don't like the way Archie is calling that Yomi. I don't like the way
he's calling that. Bro, like I don't get how you mean, man. Bro, okay.
I even thought you wanted to say some. I was even advocating for you. I thought
you wanted to say something that would meaningfully add to the conversation. Anyways,
so let me say what I want to say. Eh heh. Now, actually, when you were speaking,
you said something like, "Unboard me, unboard me." Okay, and yes, so I think
now maybe I should unpack this thing this night. So. During the early days of, I don't want to say
early days of Cardano, but I want to say during the days where I was literally one
of the only people running into spaces, Nigerian spaces, and calling people into the evangelizing
of my Cardano. During those days, any time I go on spaces, I'm talking about NSG spaces back
in the day where this, we used to be on NSG spaces. Yeah, NSG like before the community became
Web3 Nigeria. It used to be NSG. It was from NSG that we formed the Web3 Nigeria. So. You people,
you see that symbol on my name, after my name, that's like an NSG badge.
Everybody that used to be on that space used to have that badge, so it was like a Nigerian web
three space and and so on. So we used to go on that space, and all those times it was just myself
and OP, like we were literally the only kadano. So they used to put us in the middle.
So anytime I speak to anybody, and not just even on NSG space,
on many several different Nigerian spaces, they they always say one thing: unboard me, unboard me,
unboard me. Now, when I dissect for that to understand what they mean by unboard me, for instance,
now if I ask you now, Archie. What do you mean when when you say when you are telling Ayomide
when you are saying generally that we should import you into Kadano? What do you expect us?
What do you expect from us? Should I should I answer that question?
I think I should answer that question. Can you guys hear me? Yes, sir.
We cannot hear you again. In case you're speaking, your mic is muted. Archie. Anyways. Yeah,
I I am here. Je suis je suis là. Ça? Ah, I forgot to tune a comprend par français. Well, um,
the whole onboarding aspect is. I actually under I actually didn't understand what he said,
but go on. Wait, wait. Do you comprend français? J'ai fait français. Yeah, oui. Ah, mon ami.
Baba speak English, and let's not lose people here. I can speak. I I can. I can speak at least.
I can speak English fluently, French intermediate, I guess. So yeah, the the whole onboarding,
onboarding here is, um, I am basically a newcomer. Although I know I've had Kadena multiple times,
but like I don't know what is really happening there. I don't even know what wallets they use.
That is like how um how I don't know anything. That's why I said onboard me, you get. Okay,
so like you're talking about a knowledge, a knowledge. That's what you're focused on now.
So I get you now. Yours is a knowledge gap that you're looking to fill. Okay,
the reason why I'm asking this question, eh, is because in my own experience, when people,
especially when Nigerian people, let me use the word Nigerian. Yes, I'm being racist
and I'm being ethnicist or tribalist or countryist or whateverists that you people can think of. So
when they tell you, whenever I hear on board me from Nigerians, it usually means To them,
they are asking you to either give them money. I'm I kid you not, you cannot make this up.
They're asking you to either give them money or to show them, to show you,
where they can tap money from that particular pro product or cryptocurrency or token
or whatever it is that they want to get. That's why a lot of Nigerians,
when you ask them when they say they are into web3, when you ask them what they are doing,
you hear that they are farming airdrops. So, I is actually something that
I think we should change generally as Nigerians. Because, like, look, look at what Archie said.
That's actually very admirable. Him seeking onboarding is a knowledge gap
that that he wants to close. He feels like he doesn't know much about Cardano,
and he wants to know more about Cardano. He feels basically lost in Cardano. That is admirable. But,
you know, when you are asking me to onboard you, and the next thing you're asking me that, okay,
which protocol can I easily make money from in Cardano? Bro, I thought you said
I should onboard you. Why not you worry up less about making money and worry more about you know
actually knowing the shit that you're into, yet so it's crazy, sir. So kids, yeah.
What the what I I notice is, I feel people people get it wrong because if you know if you have
the knowledge and you know the the basics, definitely you'd know your you'd know
how to go about things and. That is where you start making the money. Um,
there are a lot of people that are in the Solana ecosystem and are just shouting Solana, Solana,
this, Solana that, and are not even making shit. You can ask them basic questions
and they don't even have an answer to that. So I I get your point when you say, um,
most most um Nigerians when they mean onboarding, they actually mean yeah,
you should drop them some funds. Probably just tell them that oh. For example,
now let's let's take um base as example, and you come now you're like ah actually onboard me to base
I'm like oh okay uh first of all um download, coin um base app, you download the base app set up
what why we're on space you set up the app you you now like ah I've set I've set it up I like oh,
push your wallet address to me here I will send you small thing, you get so that's basically what
most people, uh expected. I was on space one day and XRP. The top XRP charts were there, and just
because of the the knowledge I was seeking, I had to like hop on and listen. So, this guy came
and he was like, "You get," I forgot the guy's name. He he called out to that guy. I was like,
"When onboarded me to XRP, the next thing that was just like, okay, download Soso Wallet, sign up.
Where you don't signing up, send me your ID. I will do this, do that, and immediately sent
he sent him a certain amount." But guess what? In like five minutes later, this nigga sold.
This nigga sold the XRP, bro. That's that's crazy, man. But yeah, I just I just want like to to
how will I put it? I I want to um have more knowledge on what Cardano is.
This is not the first time I have been to a Cardano space, but not IOM's own, actually.
So you know that moment where you people are talking and you're like, what the fuck is this?
I don't even know what they're talking about. Then you end up leaving, yeah.
So that's that's just that's just it. So since now seeing Ayomi and Longman here, I just feel okay.
I know this too. Ayomi, we've been connect, we've connected for a while now, pa.
I guess she doesn't remember me anymore. But Longman, I know him. He's he's he's my he's
my G. So I feel okay. Yeah, I know this too well. So. Onboard, uh, onboarding won't be that hard.
You get so kids. If you see it fits to also onboard me here, but if I see it fits, ke, yeah,
I don't have power. Person, if I see it fits, as I. Kid, this is a this is a serious matter.
Anyways, um, I'll yeah, I really appreciate you, bro, and I love the fact that you explained
the whole concept. But I see that Lucas has his hands up. I don't want to.
I think Lucas has something very very insightful to say about what we are talking about. Oh,
not not exactly. It's just to build on the story of someone you know being onboarded to just sell
the XRP. Not that I like XRP for sure, but I have a very similar story,
where you know Worldcoin is the one where they scan your retinas, and these guys have stands in
metro shops and in train train stations. In metro stations, I meant. And a friend of mine,
like we went for computer guys lunch, like a few months earlier, and the guy was like, "Oh,
Bitcoin is not money. This euro bill is my money." And I was like, "Okay,
this guy is a wasted cause. He's never gonna get crypto or Bitcoin or anything like that." And after
like one month, we had another lunch, and he was like with the app from Worldcoin, saying, "Oh,
these guys approached me in the metro station, and they were actually they had a stand.
So I basically sold my retinas to get a bit of Worldcoin, and and now I get crypto." And I was like,
"No, dude, you still don't get crypto. You just, you know, even if they say they get it, you know,
they need to think twice, and and it takes a while. So that's what we're here for, right?
Let things iterate, and but whatever comes." Yeah. So okay. So uh, yeah. Thank you. What I wanted.
Are you? Do you want to say something? Because before I continue, I think you wanted something. Yes.
I actually have a few things to say. And man, if I, I'm looking for how to cut things I want to say
because oh, it's very long. And what I want to say is um because some of the instances that um
Archie Atiru gave were actually something that. I I can actually relate with
because I could remember when I just joined the Cardano ecosystem. To be honest,
most of the spaces I joined, what they were discussing were above me. Like I could not even relate.
Like how the man, how can I, can I can actually fit into all of these things?
Because my head can't really grab all of these things, you know. And I was able to relate.
And at some point, sometimes when because Kit Kit had blocked knowledge before. Um,
at before before he even got to know about Kadena, I guess. So he understood all of those things
already. So was able to easily relate with the blockchain technology and all.
But as at for my own case, that was the very first time I got to know about blockchain technology,
Web three, and all. And sometimes when kid when kid talks, I'm like, which is this guy to talk?
I don't grow up. I don't understand. Hey God, like and then and I realized
that one of the most important thing to um to To get yourself involved in anything you want to do at
first, whether it's block is blockchain or not, is the curiosity within yourself. Like,
do you really want to know this thing? You know, and nobody, I can actually onboard you.
Kit can actually onboard you. Any anybody can actually onboard you, but at the end of the day,
it still lies in your ends, right? And people that even onboarded, I'm not trying to like people
that onboarded me. I'm very sure that they didn't even know that I've gone this far already, right?
Because they unburdened me and some other people, and everybody were not able to like cope along
the way. So people had some other things to do. They rather focus on some other things, you know,
things like that. So unburdening is is is is more like a two way thing for me, in my own opinion.
Yes, someone unburdened you. Do you still want to keep up with it? Are you curious to know more?
Do you want to, you know, do you really want to know more? Do you want, you know,
because that education is very very important. And I could remember. Um, Kit made mention
or something. Said that most Nigerians that are into F T that is usually about money, money, money,
money, money. And the thing is that that money will eventually come, but need to create value
for it first. That's how me I operate, and that's what I believe in. Because I remember when I,
when I, when I started using X, I don't use X before. I see a lot of a typical Nigerian F T person.
I see, I see the timeline, and what me I'm doing is not really. Like this, like I feel like, um,
it be like I don't know what I'm doing, oh, you know. But then, there's a way I want to put what
I'm trying to say, but words are failing me. But what I can tell you is that when it comes from
burden, hmm, you have a role, a big, a bigger role to play yourself. You as the embody, embody.
You have a, you have a very big role to play because that is what will keep you going.
Your your umbrella cannot keep you going. In most cases, it has to be you. Yeah,
but whatever resources you want, we'll provide. I've I've added some important um posts
to the jumbotron. You can check it out. You can you can see all of these things. And if you have
more questions, you can always reach out. You know, just like that. Yeah.
So that is my little dead talk. Um, kids. See a little dead talk. Yeah,
Ayomiyi has actually said it all. See, um, okay, where will I start from? Okay, Ayomi,
I want to ask you: Were you part of the? Were you part of the like you said? You know,
I know your first introduction to Web Three was True Cadano, Project Catalyst, right?
If I'm not mistaken. Yes, yes. So you you were part of like the first the next trend
when it was still next trend labs, right? You were part of like the first people that we thought,
how to do community reviews in Project Catalyst, right? Yeah, like Vasit and I. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Yeah. So thinking back, that was like that was twenty. The first time we had that the whole thing.
I know you were in that. I don't. I'm not sure, Shah. But we had the whole thing with.
Twenty twenty two, the first time that we heard of it. When I say we, I mean like our clique.
Then in the university, when we heard of it, so Basit and I were the first to do that project,
catalyst thing, and we did it that that season. And because of obviously it was easy
for us to relate because we already had previous knowledge in Web three,
so it was easy for us to actually relate to the whole thing, and getting
or the only thing we needed was maybe some specific knowledge about Cardano itself
that it wasn't really hard to not get. So it was hard not it was not exactly hard to get
those knowledge because. I've actually been interacting with, I've I've interacted with
Kadanu before in the past, even though I have never interact, I was not interacting with
the community prior to that time, so it was not really, it was not active.
It was very very hard to get those knowledge. So now the reason why I'm saying this story is
that after we did that, we got down to training some people on how to make those community reviews.
And how many people did we train, Iomi? You go enter twenty oh, yes, twenty people. Yeah. Now
if we look at those twenty people, how many people actually stood the test of time? Exactly.
So the thing is, I don't know if it is. I I don't want to call it a Nigerian thing
or maybe an African thing that we are always looking to be fed.
We are always looking to be spoon fed. Yeah, that I think that's the word, not fed. Basically,
everybody wants to be fed, but then we're always looking to be spoon fed. And look at Ayomi now.
Ayomi was part of the first cohort of people that. Okay, I don't want to be sentimental.
Out say the first cohort of people that I had a hand in training in when he when he
when he came to like Kadano like one of the first people I introduced Kadano to. Basically,
or I partly introduced because it was not just me doing it. I partly introduced Kadano too,
and look at where she is today. Like respects, like she has. Iomi is now now. If I see her outside,
I say, if I go, need and greater as boss because now boss true true. So like,
and she didn't get that. She didn't get to that level because of me. It wasn't anything I did.
It was mostly her. It was mostly because of her because she like she said,
most of the work work lies with you, the embody. I remember when I when I started joining spaces
on Twitter. Like there was one time I was so consistent on Twitter spaces. Like literally,
I remember when I went to Nairobi then for the Kadano Consensual Convention. Not okay,
not for the convention. I think it was for the delegates. Um, it was for that synthesis workshop.
You were there as well, Lucas, right? At that synthesis workshop, the one
that was done simultaneously in Nairobi and in what's the other country, Costa Rica.
So Maureen said something to me in that workshop. Because that was that workshop happened about
like two after two or three years deep engrainment into the Kadano ecosystem. This was like
three years of me waking up from Monday, like from morning to night. I was obsessed waking up
from morning to night, grinding heavily, like reading docs, joining Twitter spaces, DMing people,
um, on all platforms, or not just on on Twitter, on LinkedIn, watching YouTube videos sometimes. So.
When we got to the when we got to the meeting, the physical meeting, this was the the the moment
I was going to meet some of these people, these continental people for the first time,
and the moment I I barely even had to introduce myself. Sometimes they already knew who I who I am.
So Maureen, because Maureen as at that time Maureen was new to the community, Maureen was like,
"How do you know everybody?" And I laughed like, in retrospect, how would I not?
I knew because I knew. Sarah from Japan. Like when we were talking, was you would think we were
old friends that we've known each other for like fifty years. Meanwhile,
we've only started speaking on Twitter. Like I got also as I what as I some sometime
I was like going to the Japanese space. Like if you know the Japanese people,
the Japanese karana community, they are a very very private sect of people.
They don't allow people to enter their stuff. They don't allow people to be in their in their stuff.
They don't allow people to be in their stuff. So, as at that as at that time,
I could tell you that like I was consistently going to their spaces, like even the spaces
that they will speak Japanese. Even me, I try to flex little knowledge of Japanese there.
So do you get? It is more really about intersect too as well. When I joined intersect,
I fortunately I joined as a founding member. Like when intersect was early,
intersect was one of the very very things I was early to. Like when I meant I was early to this,
they just literally started, and I started joining. I started participating the intersect as well.
Were we even a working group? I could not call us a working group. We were basically
transparency working group. Then was not. It was a special interest group.
They were even below working group, and the marketing. I was okay. I was contributing in one
in two groups, transparency special interest group and a working group called
the marketing working group, and. I contributed. That was like every we were having meetings
every single week for like three years before we could before for like okay two years I guess yeah
two years before we got officially recognized by Intersect as a body that okay these people
don't try and they made us a committee and subsequently I was one of the members that was and picked
and put strapped into a committee as at that time there were only three Africans
in an Intersect committee three Africans and I was one of them. That is the power of consistency.
It's not. It's not that like I was the smartest in from Africans or I was like the most.
How I can't. I would never say I was the most hardworking because I lazy. You people don't know.
You people don't know me privately that. So when I sometimes when I tell people that I'm lazy,
people like I be told you don't know like because I know that there are a lot more things that
I can be doing. There are a lot more outputs that I can be giving that I'm not giving. Right.
That's that one is on a on a personal level, but. The compounding effects of consistency is crazy
when you really, really put in the work. Like from speaking on Twitter Spaces, from talking,
from reading docs. Oh my god, I read docs. I read white paper. Um, Ayomi, what's the name of this?
I didn't even really do it as much as you guys do, but the ones that I did,
this thing that Scat Dow used to do. God, I forget the name of that year program. Ayomi,
do you remember the name of that year program that used to that he used to do? That Scat Dow thing.
Scat Dow, yeah, yeah, Scat Dow, yeah. What writing? Yeah, report writing.
There's a particular name they used to call it. It was report writing on you picky Cardano projects.
Yeah. And you, oh God, I forgot the name that they call that thing. That's like I read white paper.
I even aside, even aside, even like that. We could be, you could be talking on spaces.
I'm this kind of person, like you can be talking on space. And maybe Adam Dean mentioned something,
and I don't know about that thing. I am immediately going to research about it, like on that spot.
As I am listening to the space, I am partitioning my mind and I am researching about that thing
because the next time they mention that thing, I must have a knowledge about it. Yeah. So,
I feel like if you have that kind of mindset, there is no way that you will not make,
like that you will not get there to that top that you want to get. And it did pay off for me.
So yeah, fingers crossed. Yes, thank you so much, Keith. Okay, let's hear from Lucas. Yeah,
that was great sharing. I I just wanted to build on when you said that,
and Maureen was surprised you knew everyone in in Kenya. I felt the same thing like two years before
in Cardano Summit because I, you know, there was a guy called Felix. There was a number of people
running European Committee. Community, town hall community, and I just actually I went to
to the 2022 summit because someone from the community funded me with a very small idea that I had,
and I felt like okay, I got like I don't know 2,000 ADA for this small little idea,
and that's going to motivate me to pay my ticket to go to Switzerland and to go to
the Credlino summit to meet these guys because I had only been like six months.
Full time in the community since middle of 2022, and it was amazing because there were guys from all
over the world, and we we really felt like we knew each other because in Gimbal Labs, you know,
I'm I started in Cardano not from Twitter but from Zoom calls, Zoom calls that Gimbal Labs
organized, Zoom calls that a community called Little Fish organized. There was a community called
Cardano Builders, Cardano for Climate, all Zoom calls, and I I knew all of those people.
There was a lot of overlap between all those communities. And the main thing I wanted to share,
and and and this theme is like the reason we know each other by heart when we eventually meet in
physical life is that we are digital natives. We are digitally like our home is being online,
and at most we have the time zones that separate us a bit. But you know,
it's sort of normal for a digital nation, for a network state, or whatever the concept
you want to subscribe to. It's normal that we we don't need to meet in real life to to be networked.
Because this is our medium, online is our medium. So yeah, I really resonate with that. Also,
one one side note on when you said like you were working hard to get Intersect to recognize you,
maybe it's not because you were making a name for yourself or or something like that.
Maybe it's because Intersect itself was created by people that were not from the community.
They were getting to know who has been around for a while and who you know.
So it was them getting to know the community, and that's something I feel like is really interesting
about Intersect. They are new guys in in some aspects, and a lot of people intersect.
Maybe have never used a Cardano wallet, but that's just an aside. Yeah, like the intersecting. Okay,
yeah, like okay. Let me not start with the intersecting, but let me start with like what you said.
I am why you laughing. So yeah, because I mean you said it. Oh yeah, right. Like look at that.
Look at that's another testimony. Like. Barely six months in, and he got funded to go to
the Cardano summit. Let me even you see that 2024 when I went for
the Cardano Constitutional Convention, I was offered by I don't want to mention the name
of the person because he's a very respectable person in the Cardano community.
I was offered a free ticket to the Cardano summit at Dubai 2024. I was also offered flights,
I guess, to the Cardano summit 2024, but I didn't go because of two things
because I was already going to the Convention and that was if you remember that semester was
was it not the semester we had topology or no it was the semester we had complex analysis
so you know go I know go like go the events make I can bang complex analysis that one so I factored
that one two for my decision so and also most importantly I was accommodation was also an issue as
at that time so ultimately when I just did the two and plus I just I just left it.
Now that is one separate. Another angle was that Cardano Foundation actually funded members
of the working group. I was supposed to. I might. I could have been one of the. If I had like,
if I had really, really pull my myself in, I say, okay, I want to go in very well. That okay,
I want to be. I want those members that Cardano Foundation funded to go to that. I mean,
out of the marketing working group, they funded. They were. They. They.
They dropped like funds for two of the marketing working group members to go pro bono to
the Cardano Summit 2021. I mean, that was another opportunity, but I just looked at it.
I think I already had my decision. I already made my decision that I was not going to be going to
Dubai. And again, obviously, the Nigerian Dubai visa thing was a whole headache thing, as well. So,
what I'm trying to say is that there are so many opportunities that you can get recognized for,
like so many things that once you create a value to yourself. That's the best way to, even
if it's wealth you want to build, even if it is value you want to build, create that value.
If it's wealth you want to build, or if you want to build like a reputation,
or you want to build something, create a value for yourself. The wealth would indirectly come from
that value that you created for yourself. So, with regards to the intersecting year,
when I said like I was in the intersect for like two years, and finally we got put strapped
to a commit committee, well. I hear you when you say Lucas about the fact
that Intersect was founded by people not in the community, but I think yeah that we can say that.
But also, Intersect was really founded by Input Output. If we are going to be
if the the what Cardano community is is really started from Input Output.
I mean that's the origin of Cardano, I U I U G or no I U H K as they were known,
Input Output Hong Kong. So that's like the origin of Cardano. So they they were really they
they were founded the the main team of Intersect Jack. Jack, um, they were really former employees
of IUHK, if I'm not mistaken. So saying that, I don't think it's farfetched when IUHK was the one
that benefited the Kadano community. So we can't really say they are not part of the community.
But I get when we can say that Intersect was really, really out of tune with what the community
wanted, like the general community, because Kadano community is not just.
We cannot just look at one particular place and say like now like this is a this is
a Cardano community like this discussion we're having is a Cardano community
but are we can we really make ourselves the benchmark for what Cardano community is no
because I'm not just talking about being being a benchmark for the Cardano community
I'm talking about knowing what a wallet is and how to use it yes that one as well I I don't think
I do I don't think it's I'm trying to I find it hard to believe that um the developers
because let's say like the different okay you were you were also in In the what was it called?
One committee, open source, right? You were in open source. I think you were the lead of open source
at one point. So I know that a lot of people in that open source or the bootstrap open source as
at the time that I started were actually from Iuhk. Yes, I was a bit later than that. Okay,
my my cohort was fully almost elected fully. I mean, yeah, was fully elected,
and and we didn't have any Iog people in there. Okay, because I find it hard to really believe that,
like. People that actually built the chain don't know how the wallets work. No,
but I'm talking about people that are hired to be running workshops to be. Oh, I get you.
You're talking about all the staff, you know. You're talking about like the auxiliary team,
like people like Terence, right? People like Terence, people like um Lara. Yeah, yeah.
And the other ones, they they were really yeah. Like I I think I understand you now.
I think I understand what you're saying now. It's not just about like there's several layers to it,
you know. I didn't mean to go in in like in a rant, but since you're asking me to detail it a bit,
you can know what a wallet is. You can know how to make a transaction,
but do you know do you value self custody or do you value yeah I I understand you know do you know
what proof of work is versus proof of stake, you know like different consensus mechanisms,
and do you know you know like staking. Do you know like yeah I understand you perfectly.
Do you know what Cardano is about? You know what is Cardano about to you? Like
if you were to rewrite constitution or or something like that, I think because we are in a space
that's about governance, it's sort of like a civic duty for an Ada holder
or for someone that works in Cardano to know what we are about. When I was talking just now
about network state or something, it's very like it's it's not about a network state is not it's not
about blockchain. It's about society and governance in the in real world. Yes. You're correct.
That's what I'm here for. I just sorry, just to to close the picture. Recently, I made this board,
and I can paste it in the chat about what are the components of the ecosystem.
And we have like from stakeholder operators to governance and governance tooling and facilitation,
all of that. But eventually, the last sticky note I had in there was like Cardano should be
an example of good governance and good culture of of getting shit done for society, for politics.
And I don't, you know, that's that's far than okay. I mean, that was the vision we were sold.
If anything, yeah, that's what I'm here. That's why banking the unbanked and the whole.
I I know you really got a lot of people, in yeah, and it's not even a laughing matter.
Like the manifesto was really very good. You know, you know that kind of movement now when,
this political come, this political person comes and speaks well, and then he get he gets elected
in, and then. So yeah. Anyways, let me not go. Let me not get into that. So yeah. Um.
I I do I do think that we just need to go back to the first principles. Yeah.
I understand what you said about the auxiliary team, like the team. For instance,
now we had the secretary for the marketing working group that really did not know much
about marketing or about blockchain or about marketing blockchains. So yeah, that kind of sucks.
I get your points, but I feel like intersects the real powerful intersects.
The the thing that could have been the real power, or anyways, when I was still active in Intersect,
I don't know what they are doing nowadays, but should have been the committees, right?
Because that that was the one chance. Intersect was like one of the, say whatever faults
they might have, which is which is very many, right? I'll be the first to admit it,
but Intersect was really one of the first place, like where community members,
without anything like you, from different walks, it's the first the first membership organization
in this community that that brought a one one person one vote, like. You understand what I'm saying?
When I mean from different walks, it means that myself that I don't have as much
either as the next guy in Japan has the same see as that guy in Japan. Like,
it brought it brought in opportunities for people from different walks of life
and different perspectives, different backgrounds to come and talk and deliberate on matters.
So now, as at that formative years, they were really like, like Lucas did have a point that
they didn't know with the community. But this was, I think, this was where the community
should have reciprocated because, as at that moment, especially with the marketing, the okay,
I'm going to use the marketing committee or the marketing working group as an example. Now,
when we started, I think that the marketing experts then or the people that have been involved with
you know something like marketing a blockchain before or marketing any product
at all before were no more than two.
Were no more than two. There, and the rest were just the rest were just.
Hey there. Yeah, yeah, I'm there. I'm here. So like the rest were just there, right?
And they were just trying, just showing up because they wanted to contribute, right?
Not not necessarily because it was their line of expertise, right? Do you understand? So I feel like
because. A lot of people in the community that were supposed experts could have actually come on
and contribute. So when the whole issue happens with the whole proposal and the whole thing,
which like that's a long controversy that I don't even want to go too deep into.
People are now coming out that oh, why didn't experts? I'm like, okay,
when people like I was the whole event council, the whole everything, the whole structure.
Like I was literally one of the people that drafted those things. Like I I had to use my experience
as a market. I've done this for Binance before, by the way. I've done this for F even FTX
before we discovered that they were fraudsters. That's very funny. I did it for FTX, right?
I've helped scale. I was in Solana, um, this Solana All Stars. They're when I was
a like a crypto content writer, Solana All Stars, right? So I was in their the coordinator
at the special writing group for their writers, right? So I was in the writing group,
so I knew how we could scale. A a blockchain ecosystem, right? A marketing wise, the whole strategy
and everything. But in order to like interpret that, I could not be the only person.
So the only person with that kind of I think I had myself and Natalie. She was on this space.
She left Natalie from Ada Link. That that was like the only other person that was also
a marketing expert and something like that, or something like that, or something closely related to
marketing. And okay, maybe one or two other people. I think we had Sequoia, so I don't,
I don't really, I can't even really remember most people. And Basit to Neo eighteen
or two about marketing. So then, so the point is, those people they literally had to only work with
those people that were showing up consistently. And unfortunately, not all of us
that were showing up consistently were experts. So that's why there was like a bit of discrepancy in
between what the effort of these people is and what the output that was coming out in.
Unlike some other committee, like the technical steering committee, they were like I think
the first year or the first one and a half year, it was literally filled with IOG people
because that's like very very important. They didn't want any outside people to come into
that technical steering committee because the technical steering committee is like the heart of,
like the sorry, the technology of Cardano is like the heart of Cardano, basically.
If everything if the technology is bad, everything collapses and all that.
So that was why they were very very strict person with the technical steering committee
and the people people were more interested. I feel like. Technical experts in Cardano,
we could see the likes of people like Phil, Phil from Anastasia Labs, a lot of people,
a lot of technical experts, and Pi and all those guys, right? That were technical experts
on Cardano. They were heavily coming to the technical steering committees, and they were applying.
Even yourself, Lucas, you, I can say you're like you are an expert per se on open source,
and you were able to like come in. And there were other so so many other people, Johnny K O,
Johnny Kelly, those guys like that were very very good technical experts,
and they could contribute well on the open source committee. People came in,
but we didn't have that kind of same vibe all round through the committees,
and that's like the problem. I don't know if you understand what I'm saying. Yeah, yeah, I do.
I'm not so much an expert on on open source. I've been mostly, you know,
I've been in tech all my life since I can remember. Like I was 10 or 12,
I was taking trainings in in IT, but I've only been working more on the open source side
since I joined Cardano four years ago. That's a good while. But I think what got me in the committee
was that I was a community member that was known, and I had been. I literally started something
that still the website is still up. CBIA Cardano Blockchain Infrastructure Alliance.
So four intersect. Invent the name was invented. I was hosting calls, bringing together builders
from TXP from my bosses at the time. Yeah, I knew. I knew CBIA. You know. So,
so I was doing sort of intersect for infrastructure people before that started.
What I was pointing out as well, when when talking about like staff and all that, is.
They basically are running their; it's their full-time job or their their daytime job.
How many people from the Cardanos, from the Intersect staff, do you see? Bring out whether it's on X
or in Gamble Labs's X space, Zoom spaces, or anywhere. They're punching in, doing their job.
You know, like you were saying, you had someone to make the notes on the marketing committee.
That's their job. That was my job when I worked in banking. I brought people into a call.
I made minutes. I I made notes of the actions, and then in a week I followed up with the actions.
And that, you know, I didn't go to the the bank's community meeting, but in in our case we do have
a community, and I just you know when teams like Marlowe were deconstructed,
were kicked off of of Intersig, you could see like the the most of the team members just went
and got other jobs, or IOG placed them to work in Midnight or somewhere else,
and they're doing their job. It's not the same thing as being someone that knows the culture
of Cardano and is here because they want to work towards promoting that culture. If they knew,
or if some of the Intersect membersβ€”I really can't name oneβ€”believed in the culture of Cardano,
they would want to be in a lot more spaces in the community, doing what the community does. Oh yeah,
yeah. It's just my view. Yeah, yeah. I, I, I agree with you. I agree with you. I think.
I think some of they. I think they did. They now they realized that too because I I recently saw
I saw a an hiring notification or an hiring update from Intersect recently that they were hiring
a a particular position. They were hiring and they did specify that they were hiring first
from the community. And if we look at their recent hires too, we could see
that they prioritize getting people like Lali, Bclay, Wendy joins when Lali Lali from Claymate.
Right. So they start hiring people, and I know one person that actually,
that the only one person I know from that their original set of people that they hired,
that was really, really interested in learning more about Kadano, and I think to an extent,
she did her best. Was Lara, right? Lara, the community is it community head
or one of the community managers? Lara really, really tried, and because I could see,
Lara was coming on spaces. She was coming on spaces in the midnight at time, like Kadano after dark.
She was coming on Kadano over coffee. We could see her on so many different spaces, and Over time,
she got to like understand more about Kadano. So, but yeah, the rest of many of the other people
that they initially hired, and I think many of them are not longer. They are no longer working at
Intersect. So I think they are like rectifying that at the moment. But anyways, fingers crossed.
Let's see. I've personally, I myself, have not been contributing in Intersect since I left
the growth and marketing committee. I hear you, Archie. I hear you. Um, sorry. So I followed you.
I followed uh forty five B. I followed CK. Um, please do also follow back. So
whenever you guys are on this space, I would be notified. And um, all the things um,
Ayomi posted on the JT. I would take my time to like go through them and um, yeah, go through them
and widen my knowledge on Karano. So I want to step out. I have to be on another space. Yeah.
So thank you for having me. See you next time when you guys host the space. Alright,
thank you so much, Archie, for being here today. We hope to see you in our future spaces. Bye. Um,
Keith and Lucas, it's been amazing listening to you guys. I mean, you guys are the oh jeez.
Who just go? Yeah. They don't. They didn't pay me one naira. By the way, for that thing,
I'm hearing that they want to pay. Wait, are they? Look at our community members, committee members,
rather in it as a. Are they already like paying them? There is a stipend,
which is I'm not sure how much. I think it was 500 ADA per month. Um, and you you can collect it
if you want. If you don't collect it, they won't send it to you actively. 500 ADA. Can you imagine?
Okay, no alasha because I'm. I know the work I used to. I I remember the kind of hectic work like
for the chair as well. I in you were a chair, so you. I imagine you did
double work because you were also in the steering committee. So yeah, yeah, it was crazy.
And me being an ordinary committee member and a working a working group leader before I became
a committee member, I knew the kind of work I was doing because it was crazy. So yeah,
I I don't think well one of the okay go on sorry sorry if you're asking about like changes
like I think you you were about the payments yeah one thing that changed a lot from when I was
the chair of the open source committee is that I was hosting the calls organizing the topics
following up with people and I almost didn't get to be a committee member you know doing like a lot
of people were reviewing applicants for the maintainer chitainer program you know something
like that. And I was just organizing the calls, and that took over my my position in the committee.
Currently, Intersect has like hired secretaries that do all the work of organizing topics,
and the chair is just one person in the committee that is like a CEO or something to represent
the committee outside, but not to organize all the calls internally. Yeah,
I think that they started doing that while I was still in the committee. Yeah,
they started because originally when we started when we started uh the growth when the growth
our marketing committee was bootstrapped by you know oh god so many things
but we can't we can't unpack them yet this night you know the whole the whole event council
you do you remember when they were like throwing out like an event council the whole event council
of a thing and how rare themselves rare evil themselves got into the committee
that whole event council idea came from me like. Yes, we we we before Rare,
I started reaching out to. I was trying to because then I didn't even know I didn't know them
personally, but I know I knew Rare Evil as a brand in Kadano. So I was trying to like get people who
who had their contacts to introduce me that okay, uh, we need to coordinate on event.
And the next thing, I knew, like they were sharing event council information. I'm like,
what do you mean? But then that that's that's another thing to unpack.
So there they were they were politics. They were backstabbing. They were betrayals in the whole
in the whole everything. For how much within no peers, but then, so like the whole uh growth
and marketing thing, the secretary things was already there because as at that time where the growth
and marketing was put strapped into coming into a committee, uh, Jack was supposed to be yeah
Jack Jack Briggs the current CEO of Intersect he was supposed to be our secretary then,
but as at that time he started it it started I think he started being doing the secretary thing
for like one or two meetings until he started. He became acting COO when the then secretary
of the then CEO of of intersect had issues when the board decided to fire him,
or something like that. So Jack started taking more of his duties before the board
even decided to fire him. Jack started taking more of his duties on. So we had to get like
a new other CEO who wasn't really that conversant. Like Terence, to be to be honest,
it wasn't really that like conversant with. The whole Cadano thingy, or even a marketing person,
because I feel like a secretary, for instance. Now, a secretary. If Intersect was going to elect
a secretary for the technical steering committee, I feel like it should be a secretary that is also
like an engineer. Do you understand what I'm saying? Like someone that can also relate with,
because the committee do not really have, we have less powers than it was marketed out for us.
That we did, we couldn't really actively do things in Intersect. I don't know if it has changed now,
but as a day, we were only allowed to decide and talk about things and let them decide.
I've been out of Intersect for a year now. I did my mandate. I didn't really agree with some things,
and eventually, I asked to step down from being chair and just finish my mandate
as a regular member, because you know, especially with the Intersect Steering Committee.
I don't really think that they are doing much there, as for lack of better way of saying it,
because there was one call where there was some disputes, and
the InterTech Steering Committeeβ€”it's literally in the nameβ€”it's supposed to steer, you know.
But they were like, "Oh, we can please the guys up in the board, or we can do whatever the guys
in the committees want. You guys tell us." And and I was like, no, you guys should have the values,
and you guys should should should stand the ground of the values that you are defending, in theory,
in theorists, in that direction. But you know, it was really just everyone asking who who's the boss
here, and no one's the boss. And then eventually, so how should we handle this situation?
Everyone was once somewhat. Some people were shrugging like they don't care. Some people were like,
I don't know. And so that was my experience, and that's why I I prefer to help other communities
and other organizations now. Oh yeah, me. I really just left intersect because I I felt
like there was more productive use of my time building than being on a committee
or talking about governance. I felt like I could do a lot more things by building products
that will fetch me more money and that will you know help people too. I guess,
but fetch me more money is my priority. Yeah, but you can't ignore governance,
and you can't ignore the incumbents that are running so much in the states, right? Yeah.
If you guys, if we keep giving away millions and tens of millions and hundreds of millions
for the wrong things or for things that you don't agree with,
eventually you're going to be working for a change that is not what you want. So you need to build,
but also defend your values. Yeah, I hear you, but I hear you. But at the moment, you see,
on that front of governance, at the moment, there is little to nothing to what I can do about.
You know, I thought. Initially, when this whole governance thing, I thought I had this delusion
that if I could come and present my facts and speak with so much knowledge, and you know, yeah,
and I'm saying it's a delusion that if I could speak with so much knowledge
and better critical thinking and present my facts in a well-ordered and team manner,
then people would. Automatically say, oh, bro, you're smarter than us. Oh, bro, you're smart,
not smarter than us, but oh, bro, you're smart, and I agree with what you said because what you said
because it's a very very logical conclusion that you came through. And let's do this.
But in reality, that's not how it works with Carano governors. People are not really listening to
logical thinking or critical thinking. They're really they're just listening to sentiments
and feelings and following. Influences people that they think have influence,
or people that they like. What like what you just described? That oh, in the steering committee
that they are supposed to be the one with the backbone. They no, they are actually looking.
The steering committee is looking for someone to steer them, which is really pathetic. So yeah,
I felt like you know, in I'm in Yoruba. There's a Yoruba adage like I'm Yoruba.
There's a Yoruba adage that says, "Ti owo mo ba ti te kuida, kuma bere kuto pa babai.
" And the translation is, if the hand of the child has not touched a weapon.
It should not ask who killed his father. That's the literal translation. So right now,
I'm the child. Kadano is the father. There are people that have killed Kadano,
or or is currently killing Kadano. But because my hand has not touched a weapon yet,
the only weapon I can use to fight here is the weapon of Ada, because that's the only thing that
people listen to. Forget that critical thinking, whatever. They don't care.
They don't care if you're logical. They don't. All they want to know is how much delegation
you have as as a drape. So. I would. I mean, I'm not going to totally ignore the governance aspect.
I'm going to keep an eye on this. Speak when when I feel like my words might.
There's a chance that my words might move people with the power at the moment. And and the
and at the other side, I will also be working on increasing my own purchasing power
so that I would actually have a real stake in this governance. Because let's not kid ourselves.
We don't run. It's not really. I mean, we are the most. We are literally
the most decentralized blockchain in the world,
but it's not really fully inclusive yet because it is dependent heavily on your purchasing power.
Yeah, I'm not sure I get what you're saying about the the purchasing power
because where you delegate representativeness, and you can you can become a d rep
and try to get people to delegate to you and all that. Yeah, how is that working out for people
that don't have that are not wheels? Or don't have friends. Let's not kid ourselves.
If you look at Morrie, for instance, in a in a sane environment, Morrie should be one
of the the reps with the with the most delegations. She she has shown consistency.
She's intelligent. She has great logical thinking. She understands. She knows
how to break things down and how to you know simplify things. She also understands
cadano development. She's also a developer. You know, she's also she's also a community builder.
She has built community. She has worked within. She has worked. She has done every governance work.
So in a same environment, like if we're saying okay, just show up, do the right things,
and then people delegate to you, she should be one of the top tier reps that we have.
She should be in top five or top ten, but she's not even anywhere near top fifty or top hundred.
Yeah. So maybe you're seeing it a bit from the X point of view, you know.
There's a lot of people that ignore X and ignore everything else. It's not X. The thing that matters
is the amount of A that you have delegated to you. That's what's that's what tells you
whether you're a powerful D rep or not. That's the only thing that matters. But for example,
Maureen's presence is more on X than than necessarily elsewhere. Not really though.
She was part of IOG's Beyond MVG Beyond Minimum Viable Governance like a a project team.
By I O G Input Output Global, like the founders of Cardano, she was part of their team in
Beyond Minimum Viable Governance, and they most of those meetings they happen on X,
they happen Zoom, Google Meets, they happen, you know, across several diverse community.
She was the delegate of, uh, what's it called? Even before I was, I I was one of the like
like people that because when she was asking me that why, out there I was like trying to
I was also telling that oh she should come on Cardano. I remember when I was saying. Um,
I used to go on Cadano over coffee a lot before you know Jenny and B and a lot of all those guys
started DMing. And when they saw that this girl has sense and she has very very good graphiters
because of the way she held herself and she presented well in the Cadano Constitutional Convention.
So it's not just X. In a same environment, she should be one of the top T reps. She is.
She should be one of the top T reps. Like with the way she has contributed,
the way the way she has presented herself over time in a same environment, she should be. So.
The thing is, those top D-raps, most of them are already wheels, or like in close ties with wheels.
That's just the Cardano Foundation. Look at, look at it. So, if you want to have any power
in this governance, this Cardano governance, right? The reality is just,
and that's why I'm always very, very annoyed when I see Africans still fooling around in the space
because. We are like literally the only one that the African projects. Like, oh God, I was telling,
I was saying this in a WhatsApp group the other time that like we are literally the only one.
We all we know how to do is to write proposals for project catalyst, asking for money to do
one event or the. Thank God that people are now building. Thank God for Next Trend Labs
and you know so so many other African light donation and some other African products that are now
like okay, let's talk about building, let's talk about sustainability.
I get that Kaduna generally don't really have sustainable products. That's another discussion.
But like Africans that are actually building. Because we are priced out of the whole thing
of governance, we don't have the purchasing power to get more either,
and obviously gravitas don't even work. Like because the way I could do it,
that I could climb up the ranks in Intersect by, that's that that's one of the another reasons
why I rate Intersect because I could by contribution alone, by sheer force of my voice,
I was able to like rise up the ranks in Intersect and contribute even if tangentially or marginally,
and make a decision. Even if imagine our decision in in Cardano, right? If we intersect,
it's not the same in being a DREP. I mean, you can write Twitter post, you can drop audtakes,
you can go on spaces, you can join Zoom meetings, you can, you know, talk with IOG, talk with CF,
have access to people, talk with Charles Skinson. You know, many times I've spoken with
Charles Skinson, like on video calls, on whatever it is, on Twitter spaces.
But unless you actually have that power to change anything. You don't have the power
to change anything. So yeah, that's that's just it. I'm not going to add anything to that.
It's your view, and I agree to some extent. But I seeβ€”I don't know whyβ€”but I see Ayomi's hand up
for a while. I'm not sure. It's probably a ghost hand. Um no, my my hand was not raised. Um,
I was just listening to the conversation. Yeah.
So I also wanted to share. Very happy to announce that I now have a soundboard. So
I can do sounds. I don't know. I still need to explore them and get to know them. What's that?
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. The soundboards used to be fun, but. Yeah, if you enter,
there are some crazy people like Broken. If you enter Broken Spaces, God, all these guys,
shape all these guys. Right? Yeah. They just play with the sounds. Sounds.
I think I blocked him though. I can't even remember. I don't see his faces. I think I blocked him.
I'm not sure. Um. So I want to say thank you to kids and locals for sharing their point of views
on different. Um. Topics and discussions. Thank you for keeping the space um interactive,
and I want to say thank you to those that stick around till this moment. Thank you so much.
Thank you, Longman. Thank you, CK. Yom, CK, Lucas, Rupto, and Sneg just joined the space. Welcome,
Sneg. So, like we all know, this is a weekly space every Thursday 8 p.m. UTC.
That is 9 p.m. Nigerian time. We come here together to discuss, educate ourselves, connect, and all.
And I hope to see you. Next week, Thursday, 8 p.m. UTC. And before we call it a day, CK,
is there something you want to say? Because I know you came back again. Okay. Long man, is there?
Do you have anything to say? No, I don't really have much. I mean, you guys
should just stay safe out there. And don't forget to stay hydrated. Very, very important. And yeah,
take good care of yourself. Don't tell me what to do. I don't want to take care of myself.
I don't want to stay hydrated. Don't tell me what to do. Start taking care of yourself, bro. Nah,
Gen Z doctors for Nigeria now like this. And this one with the fake product. Start taking.
You like not take. You no take care of yourself, bro. Ivy, yeah. Me I no share,
make nobody share talk anything. Me I no get money to donate for group chat too. Anybody ready?
Don't forget. How long this chat? How long this chat? Just a roguo, come a donate. Amen, oh.
We will not see such oh. Allah look at Mor, Mauricio. Ah, we actually about to round up the space.
Um, we've had an amazing moment, and um, um, Lucas and we left. Okay. So guys, I hope to see you.
Next week, Thursday, eight p.m. UTC. Um, stay hydrated, just like Logman have suggested.
He said that we should stay hydrated. We should take care of ourselves.
So you guys should take care of yourselves. Stay hydrated. Bye. Good night.
