Hi Nana Saffo. Um, hi, hi, hi. Welcome and thanks for being here today.
Thanks for joining us on episode ninety one. You were here last week as well.
You were here at episode ninety, and now you're here again. Thank you,
Nana Saffo. It's good to have you here. I'm trying to like share the space link
to um some DMs and see whether they are active to join. Yeah, I was here last week
and I'm here this week and probably a few more weeks going forward because I want to spend time,
I want to spend more time with the community you have built.
That's beautiful. That's. Yeah, that's great. Thank you. Not mention.
How are you doing?
Can you? Yes, I can hear you now.
Yes, but it looks like you're breaking up. Okay. How about now? You can hear me now. Yeah,
I can hear you. Okay. Yes. All right. So I said I I saw that you are contesting for board,
intersec board committee or something like that. Yeah, that's true. Yeah,
I've not really paid attention to that um board thing, or but I've been seeing people applying for
it. Uh huh. Yeah, but I've not really paid attention to. Um, rows of the board. Um,
what is they called? Is it board committee? They call it. Inter-inter set-inter set MBU board.
Inter. So it is for inter set board of directors. Okay, okay. So they are like the they are like
the top guys that manage that manages um every other committees like MCC, Putokano.
Is that how it works? I okay. Is that how it works? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
That's how it works. But they are not executive, so there are certain you know duties
that they are not able to perform. And then they are able to play the role of providing advice
to the executive wing of Intersect, you know, as to how they should approach certain things
and what kind of implementation they should do, and also also guide Intersect's general direction.
Oh, okay. Yeah. Okay. Are they are they paid five five hundred dollars per month? No,
they actually paid thirty-five thousand USD per year. So that's like twenty-five thousand.
Did you say twenty-five thousand per year? Thirty-five thousand dollars per year. Oh, thirty-five.
Yes. Wow, that's cool. So it's it's almost like two thousand nine hundred dollars per month. Oh.
Okay. Okay. Yeah. That's cool. So it it is the board of directors that um manages the operations
at large at intersect right? Not at large. Um, these board of directors are non-executive,
so they don't have any powers to execute any um activities or tasks. DS is more
or less like um advising and guiding direction and and guiding the direction of intersect. Oh.
So there is the executive wing, which is in charge of uh you know implementing uh decisions right.
And then these are board directors. Basically, it is just you know giving the entire membership
the opportunity to also influence what has to be done, right? So all the membership that we have,
be it enterprise, be it individuals, you know, whenever they have issues,
these issues are conveyed through the committees, and then through the committees it goes to
the interest sharing committee, and then the interest sharing committee pushes it onto the board
of directors, and then they will now you know use it as a recommendation.
Or the executive going to affect any changes that needs to be made. Oh, like
how the hierarchy looks like. Okay. Okay. Yeah. That's cool. You can you can add your um manifesto
to the jumbotron. So. Oh yeah yeah sure. Sure. Let me. Hi Lucas. Hello. Good evening.
How's everyone? I am fine. I I don't know about Nana and Ikey. Ah. I'm doing well. All good.
Hey Lucas, it's been a while. Yeah, I was. I've been. I've been very, very busy
since the turning of the month, and I plan to keep like that. But I, I'm just checking in
with friends. Are you applying for the the board of Intersect? Yes, yes, I did apply.
It's been busy over here too, but we still try and make time for you know some
of these social activities too. Good to know. Yeah. So had you been you had been in
the civics committee I imagine or I don't know maybe I'm I'm just assuming
yes yes I'm still there actually I I guess I got I got I got re-elected I'm still
on the civics committee okay were you acting as chair of that committee
or no no I was I was previously acting as chair for the governance education working group
and then we finished our job so we closed our working group. So now I am, I am more
like I'm a voting member definitely. So I I perform my God that duty that is expected of me.
Great stuff. I was asking because I have the experience of being chair of the committee
and then also being in the intersect steering committee or participating in those calls and.
It's interesting to see how you were saying the board passes things down to the steering committee,
and then, you know. But I don't think it's exactly like that in practice.
It's a bit like everyone is managing their direct reports, meaning like the steering committee
reports upwards, and the board sort of reports to the steering committee as well.
Everyone reports to each other, and and in the end, I'm not sure exactly who's steering.
I'll be honest. Yeah, I mean, I was saying that you know, if you look at the structure, of course,
in terms of operations, sometimes it is intertwined, so it can make sense the way you are saying it.
But if you look at the structure, you know, from committees goes through to steering committee,
and then from the steering committee, it goes upwards to the board, and then the board now,
you know, pushes it onto the executive wing and then do implementations if need be.
So that's like the the official structure that needs to work. But in terms of operations,
sometimes you know, because it is mostly the same people, you know, working around these structures.
Yeah, able to intertwine it in that way, and so achieve what they have to achieve. So, okay,
I'm taking a look at your tweets, and I'll I'll make a note to read them when I have a bit.
Currently, I am actually publishing calls for my workshops for Web3 onboarding, and I don't know.
With Aomi, I can't say I'm onboarding the onborder, but she's been coming to some of these calls,
and I'm looking forward to to to push them a bit further now in terms of looking at smart contracts
and that kind of stuff. Yeah, sure. Is your is your event going to be virtual?
What was the question? Your event that you're about to host, your conference,
is it going to be virtual? It's going to be tomorrow afternoon, and and throughout the month,
like until the end of the month, we have a number of times, three times a week, two cohort,
three cohorts now, but yeah, so I'm hosting nine calls, I think, or at least six, seven, eight,
around that, somewhere it varies. A lot of different calls with different people,
but I like to keep them in small groups, so like three, four, five people is ideal. Sure.
So it's it. I'm gonna post something. Sorry. It's virtual, right? How do you mean?
It's virtual events, right? Virtual events. Yes. Yeah. It's all online. Okay.
I I I love the physical events, but I've come to terms that it's simpler to meet people online
than flying them around the world. You know, 2024 was crazy for me
because between my own initiatives and the constitutional work. I was tired of flying back
and forth, and it is amazing when when you get to take a picture with a hundred people or something.
But it's simpler to meet online. Makes sense. Makes sense. Makes a lot of sense. Yeah. You know.
Okay. Sorry. Just to just to add, my onboarding to Cardano was in Gimbal Labs,
and they don't like save like time from calls. They are happy to be on calls. They are happy to.
Now actually, they're more. Saving time and and like not digressing too much.
When I joined Cardano in 2022, we could be three hours in a call debating with friends
about politics or society, or you know. So I I really feel like that's the spirit, that community,
online community that I that I like, and that's what you guys are doing here as well. So. Uh. Um.
Yeah. Thanks for coming up, Lucas, and feel free to add your um your meetings post on the Jumbotron.
So, gracias, obrigado, thank you. Yeah, I think I I missed um your your your one of your sessions
today, right? No, today I had one which was in Portuguese. Yesterday we had three sessions:
one in Portuguese, one in English, and one a Q and A. And tomorrow we're going to have your session
with Gimbal Labs, and we're going to have a cohort, a new cohort in English.
So I'm going to send you the invite in a little bit. If you can come by,
I think it's going to be interesting. You said one session will be with Gimbal Labs tomorrow. Well,
your cohort is what I'm calling now the Gimbal Labs cohort. Okay. If you look at the pinned tweet,
you'll see an explanation of the the different cohorts that we are running.
It's it's like five cohorts. One is past. Cohort two is yours in with Gimbal Labs. Cohort three,
we turned it into asynchronous. That's why we do Q and A calls only, and then documentation portal.
And then the new cohorts that started last week and are going to end at the end of the month is
a new Portuguese and a new English cohort. That's four and five. And that concludes
our Web3 onboarding project. Hopefully, it's going to leave a lot of resources for communities
on Cardano, like the videos of all the sessions and all that. You're going to be on TV. Awesome.
For those that don't know, 45P. Um, um, it is Lucas that is talking from that account,
and what they do is they onboard people to Cardano and Web3. And to be honest,
I've been attending Lucas's um sessions, Web3 sessions, and it's been amazing. Um, I learnt a lot.
I I was able to, you know, gain a lot of um deeper knowledge about. We were hashing, right?
We were hashing things on. I think you you were on a session where we were running hash functions
over our text. Yeah, yeah. Demonstrating hashing of a bit of a text. Yeah, we did that.
Be complicated. That was also complicated. It's also complicated. Yeah.
Today on the Portuguese cohort, someone was asking if you're putting something on the blockchain,
is it transparent or is it not? And so I was demonstrating encrypting something
and decrypting something for her, where you can put something on the blockchain if you encrypt it,
you know, unless you you lose the encryption key, no one's going to be able to to read it.
And then I explained a bit of zero knowledge as well, just from like, okay, you have a poker game,
you can play your card, but people don't know what it was, and only when you reveal the secret,
people can prove that the card was what you played, and you get the the game won or something.
So I like to use these little simple examples for non-technical people. Yeah. And and by the way,
we are gathering learners still. We're just on the last borderline dates to gather any new learners
to introduce new cohorts that we're running. So if you know anyone that's curious
that wants to understand what Web three is about, send them our way, please. Yes,
send them to four to five B's way. Um, and also I wanted to talk about. Ah, shit!
I forgot what I wanted to say. Oh my god. Okay. Um. Let's Let's move on. Elevator music.
That happens to me a bit as well. Ah, forgotten. Anyways, I see C K Cardano here. Hi,
C K. I see Toby Lover. Hi, Toby Lover. I see Max Max on border. Hi, Max on border.
And I see Preyanchurai. Thanks for being here, and it's good to have you. Oh,
do you need to bring him up? Invite him up. He's a new learner from the English cohort.
He's from the yeah. The Preyanch was in. Yes. Oh. Was on our first on one
of our first English cohorts, and hopefully he's going to be attending. And yeah,
it's welcome to Cardano. That's what you're doing here, right? Onboarding and welcoming people,
the new guy. That I'm also helping onboard. Yes, right. The name sounds Indian, like Priya. Yeah,
I'm Indian. Okay, I guess not. Um, he may be someone that builds on Cardano
and that creates something that we're going to use in a few months or something. Yeah. Okay. Um.
Welcome, Priyanch. Um. It's good to have you. We are glad to see you here. Um. So, hi everyone.
Once again, my name is Ayomi. Uh. I welcome you
to Cardano Newcomer Support X Space Episode Ninety One. This is actually a weekly space.
We come together to talk about Cardano. We learn together. We fund together. Um. Every Thursday,
eight p.m. UTC. Yeah, so before the actual day, before today, I usually make a post about it a day
or two days before, so people can set their um reminder and all. So um usually the space lasts for
just one hour, just an hour space. Uh most of the times we just talk about um things
that are trending in the ecosystem, updating the ecosystem, or sometimes answer questions
from people, and all and Recently, I actually noticed that I have like I've seen
quite number of people that have onboarded. So I've been thinking of what should I do?
Should we just keep just talking about only updates and all? So I'm thinking of just like doing
this kind of module thing because today I even had it in mind to just start from
a very beginner friendly um um session, just like give a recap of um Cardano um the mission and all,
you know. And also share some updates to the to the J T to the Jumbotron
in case anyone might need to know, right? Um, and today I have. Amazing people with that
that have grabbed the mic. I have Lucas. Lucas also onboard people to Cardano.
He makes he simplifies everything for non-technical peeps. I mean, you don't have to be technical
before you understand this technology before you interact with this technology, right?
So Lucas helps to onboard non-technical folks into Web3 and Cardano. And also we have Nana Saffo
here. Nana Saffo is Also, a patriotic member of the Kadano ecosystem. Ah,
I've known Nana for a long time. Nana is from Ghana, and is doing amazingly well.
Is also um a member of the Civic Committee. Nana, am I correct? Okay. Thank you. Thank you. Nice.
And is also the governance lead at Wada Global. Nana, am I correct? Yes, you are. Oh, I tried.
So yeah, so today I want to just basically talk about, and I was expecting people that some
I was actually expecting some people today, but they're not here, and it's actually
because of of them that that I decided to like just start from the very beginning. Well,
I'm going to proceed regardless, and hopefully maybe they will listen to the to the recorded space
later on. Hopefully, yeah. I see someone joined again. I see S S N I S N. Thanks for being here. Um,
I really appreciate everybody's presence here. I mean, for not just allowing me to be on this space
and talking to myself alone. Thanks so. Thanks for being here with me.
I really appreciate because I remember sometimes when I started this space,
I talk to myself alone on this space. I just talk to myself alone, and you know,
it's it's it's crazy. It's crazy. Were you really? So you just got into the space
and spoke to the recording? Yes. Yeah. When I just started. Yeah. When I just started. I just.
I'm starting that. I'm doing like epoch hump banter. I made that up. It's just the top of the epoch.
It's the middle of the epoch because it's UTC mornings. So instead of doing the epoch's end,
I'm talking. I'm doing the the middle of the epoch. And sometimes I just sit in the space.
But I just don't open the mic. I just let the music flow, and I'm just looking at the screen.
I put my watch to look at the phone screen every two or three minutes in case someone comes up.
If no one comes up, I just keep on working and stuff. Open. I imagine I'm in a stand like
in an event, and people are just walking by and not talking to me. Eventually,
something might pick up. You're looking like I think a lot of people are starting to know
this space. So congrats for that. Yeah, yeah. It's it. I mean, it is the space is better
than before, and I've seen a couple of people join. Join is like if I'm if I'm the only one
on the space, like I'm just talking to myself. I just talking, and then I'll see someone joins,
and then the person leaves again. The person joins back. I'm like, wait,
were you talking to yourself? I'm like, yes, I was actually talking to myself because that one hour
that I've scheduled for this space was old. I just speak, then, and then I I just leave when it's
one hour already. Okay, so um today I just I just I had the plan of just talking about
um kadano basically just um like basic um basic I I will put that the simplest way
I can explain kadano to newcomers because like I said earlier I I recently invited
quite number of people and I was hoping to join today but I see they're not here now
and yeah regardless of that I would still say what I what I've planned to say right.
So today I have it in mind to just talk about Kadano and a few things,
and if any other question wants to come in and then look at it together.
I see AK requesting for the mic. I AK before I start. GM GM Ayomi GM 45B GM
Nana Big Shara GM Kadano Max Um Tobilolba and Um. Three years. Yeah, it's actually nice.
I'm being here. I actually feel I could talk like um CK Kadano, like bring his fire on
and all those stuffs you get. But I I'm just so so sad that I can't really do that well.
But nevertheless, it's all good. It's all good. CK, do you mind coming up?
I think I really need that energy right now. CK, please come up. Your fan, I can see. Your fan, AK.
AK wants to hear from you. Um, I've sent him the mic, but before he comes up,
I just want to do like a a little. Um, like an overview of Cardano, I know. Yep. So, um,
like I always tell people, because sometimes quite it's quite hard to, you know, um,
relate to all of this Cardano blockchain thing, because that was how I also felt when I started
my journey. I felt so left out. I felt so. Ah, God, what am I going to do? You know,
things like that. So I understand for the fact that it's not easy, and I'm also still work in
progress. I'm all. I'm always learning every day. So to anyone
that is new to um blockchain um technology or Cardano, if you are listening to this space,
whether you are here or you will be playing this recording, um, I'll try as much as possible
to just um. Uh, give the simplest way possible. Uh, in explaining Cardano,
and I would also appreciate if either of CK, Lucas, and Nana would also like add something to what
I've said as well. I see Chinye, my mom Chichi, Amachichi. Thanks for being here. Welcome. Um,
so like I always say, and obviously we all know that Cardano is um a blockchain, right?
And I know that the word blockchain itself can, you know, sound complicated because it sounded
complicated to me. It took me a while. It took me a while to really get it to some point, you know.
So one of the one of the easiest way that I I try to explain it is that I do say that a blockchain
is basically like a a digital system for recording and Verifying information across network
of computers, like unlike a traditional system where a company or somebody or an institution would,
you know, control the databases and all, but blockchain networks are actually designed
so that multiple participants in network can help maintain and verify what happens on the network.
And Cardano is actually one of those networks. When I was I learned about Cardano.
I learned that Cardano was actually created for, uh, uh, was created with the goal of providing, um,
a secure, decentralized, and scalable blockchain that people can use to build different things
and for different purposes, and um. Most times, as a new person, when you hear Cardano,
you also hear another name a lot, which is Ada. Yes, Ada. And people that are around me,
most of the times, they hear me say Cardano, hear me say Ada. They like Ada, Ada, Ada, right? So,
if you're in the ecosystem, you start to hear Ada and all. And Ada is the native cryptocurrency
of the Cardano blockchain. Um. Ada is the digital currency that operates within
the Cardano ecosystem. Think of it as in your country you have the the your native currency that
you spend in your country to buy and to to purchase things and all. So the same thing,
you take Cardano as a country, and then what you what you use for uh your purchasing power
uh yeah is the Ada. You use Ada to um your your Ada is um Ada is like you know
that digital currency that allows you to do things right. So um. For example,
you you can use your ADA, your cryptocurrency, your the the native token of Cardano, which is ADA,
to send value to another person, to pay for transaction fees, to participate in staking.
I know that staking is one thing. Yeah, you need to also understand as well.
But these are the things you use ADA to do in the ecosystem. You interact with different things
happening in the Cardano ecosystem. So basically, we can just say Cardano is a blockchain network,
and ADA is the native currency, and all. Um. One of one of the few questions I get from people is
that why Cardano, and I always say that I don't have. I really like like from the onset because I
because I've never interacted with Web three before. Like I never knew about Web three before.
It was through Cardano I got to know about Web three and blockchain technology and things like that.
So I have I have not even interacted with some other chain. Like it has always been Cardano.
I've not interacted with any other chain, right? So it has always been Cardano.
And when I was like making my research and all and Because one of the one of the one
of the resources one of the resources I I I so rely upon is Kaduna Academic right,
and that is where I list the people anybody that that comes to me and say oh what is this what is
that I will tell them can you start by learning by yourself first because it has to it has to
it has to start from you it has to start from you right start learning first
and then from there we now know what to do because you can't always ask questions
because you would need to like um start that journey. By yourself first, so and that worked for me,
and I'll be telling people about because me, I like to read, I like to learn,
I like I'm very curious, right? And if I see that oh this I'm not getting this,
that is when I reach out to people and say oh okay I don't understand this,
so please can you tell me this? Can you tell me that? Can you explain this to me? Can you explain
that to me? So yeah, and when I was making my research and when when I was learning about
why Kadena, I I I learned that um um one thing that You would hear people talk about about Cardano.
Is that it's research driven? Yeah, it uses it uses research driven approach.
And I also learned that Cardano places a very strong emphasis on academic research,
peer reviewed research, and also and also what was this word? Ah, I'm forgetting just what. Damn,
I'm forgetting. What is it? Yeah, I'm trying to like call a word. It's not coming to my head.
What does it mean? The word. Um, like there's this there's this way I put this thing. Um,
Cadano is um it uses um academic research and it's also peer reviewed.
And there's one other word that I always use a lot. Hmm. Yeah. I can't. I can't think of anything.
Okay, that's okay. It's um it relates to like mathematical something. I'm forgetting the word,
anyways, but. Hmm. Well, it's a functional language. It's mathematically provable,
like what formal verification is. That what you're looking for? Oh, yeah, something like that.
But it's special work. Maybe, by the way, let me explain that. When you think of like programming,
usually programs can go anywhere, and Ethereum programs can go to so many places
that the programmers can't really tell all the places the program can use.
I'm talking about a smart contract that. Blockchain programming within the blockchain,
and so with Cardano language because it's a functional programming language,
and you can do a mathematical proof that that contract can either go left or right.
It can't go anywhere else. That's formal verification of a smart contract on Cardano.
There are still teams building more development tools for this, but it's a huge win
because it cannot be exploited. If you prove it can only go left or right, it can't go up or down.
Amen. Forty-five B. Let's go, Iomi. Sugar. Shout out to you,
Cardano newcomer support space episode number ninety-one. I'm not gonna sit here
and do a big old monologue in the middle of what you're building here, Iomi,
because I really am loving what you're cooking. I do hope that you are finally getting maybe some
of the support from the powers that be, maybe those on governance committees
and intersecting catalysts and da da da da da. You know, I appreciate you, Iomi. I appreciate you.
Shout out to shout out to Chichi down there. Shout out to you, 45B. I also see what you're cooking,
bro. Those those another space where people can come together. We can educate each other.
We can talk about wallets and onboarding. And amen, Iomi. When you were talking about
kind of learning in Cardano, I see my friend DP down there. You know, as As a man,
a guy named Jesus once lived in it, and he said, "You will know them by their fruit." You know,
and I know DP because the same way that I know you, Iomi, I come through here, I listen,
I vibe with you, I create conversation, and just it's good stuff, man. So shout out to DP.
He's building it's outside of UTXO, but right, I'm not going to be the one that's going to sit here
telling you. That folks building on other blockchains aren't going to make money.
I think we would be remiss if we didn't meet the market where it is. When we talk about
how do we grow Cardano, how do we get new people here, how do we get new liquidity, how do we get
new users, how do we get people learning about Eternal Wallet and Vesper Wallet,
and how do we give them a why to cross that that Rubicon of understanding?
In the same way that we have to learn about accounts. Accounts really would do well to learn about
UTXO and Amen 45b that mathematical formalism and determinism. Determinism.
What what is the only outcome? Like two plus two equals. There's a certainty, right? We know
mathematical functions. For every one unique input, there is one output. You know, there's no.
Anyway, I'll land the plane on this. The ways in which we can construct those smart contracts
can give us that degree of certainty. You know, and Right, but we've got to have you know developers
that are conversant in these smart contracts, and it is really encouraging the the maturation
in the automated ability to create these smart contracts. So, like a friend like DP out there
who's building in the DeFi space on other blockchains, when we can hand DP
and those other kinds of communities the kinds of tools where they can go, oh, cool!
Now I can build a EUTXO-based smart contract, and then I can expand my network into the Bitcoin,
Zcash, Ada, Midnight, Monero set, and so on. Shout out to you, Iomi! I'm I'm loving what
you're cooking, and I'm I'm listening. Yeah, thank you so much. Um, for um the addition, Lucas
and CK, I really appreciate that. And shout out to DP in the building. Um, Bodu, Bodu, Boduin,
thanks for being here as well. And I see MB, thanks for being here. While I was speaking,
I saw Max on board that question for the mic. I don't know if you want to say anything
before I proceed. Ah, all right. Uh, good, good morning, uh, good afternoon,
wherever you're coming from. I am here. Nice, nice seconds. Nice been here. CK, I see my man.
What's up, man? I'm good, Max. I'm good. It's good to hear you, bro. I hope this, this day,
this evening. It's been a long time. It's been a long time. Something happened actually. No,
I'm gonna give you the gist. Something happened actually. So it's been a long time,
very very long time actually. Ah, it's been a very long time. So yeah,
this is like actually like the first Catalano space I've talked in very long time,
very very long time because ah, I kind of got myself into some stuffs that means that I couldn't be
able to do some stuffs. So that was why I used to enter in spaces, crypto spaces, anonymously.
But now I think I'm done with my contract with the company, so I can now, you know,
but not fully done. But I can now like talk about crypto very, very well, actually. So you know,
there are some firms that when you're working, you don't have to. There are things that
that go down. You know, you know when you start working on some firms,
that is where you know that crypto, crypto, and crypto adoption is still very, very far.
So we're we're waiting for the Clarity Act to do some stuffs. That was why I couldn't talk to Nte
because I couldn't do anything else. Like so, if you're doing financial,
if you're in financial systems, fintech and stuff like, you have to understand that before you get
investors' money, there are some things you don't have to do yourself. Stuff like that. So,
but yeah, it's good. It's good being back. It's good being back talking in Kadena spaces again.
This is my first Kadena space, and I came here because of Ayomi. I my my my team member NB told me
about Ayomi. I was like, ah, I need to figure out pushing this. Yeah. So and.
And I had I needed to I was here for for the very first time, but I was anonymous actually. So,
just say I wanted to just come to say hi and say I was like I have some time. Let me just come up
and just say hi to. And if you have some time after now, we can just get into a call
and talk about things and then how things can go like after now actually. So,
if you don't have the time, it's okay. So, boy, I used to host space actually. Of course,
CK knows too. I used to host space actually. I'll talk about Kadano stuffs
and we've really gone far. I've actually hosted Kadano community in the. Space
and other people in the space. Most people pick practicals in the space,
and one of the problems we figured out in Cardano is trying to explain Cardano to people.
Cardano is a very technical chain, very technical chain. I've done my own fair share
of onboarding people. I've done onboarding and calls and people. So even my friends
that in Cardano too, that that rather back Cardano, that are in Web3, are in crypto,
they find it difficult to to understand Cardano. Two things. One is that Cardano.
The price is very stable. Cardano, the price is very stable for a very long time. Like you know,
there is no. Some people, my friend, will tell me there is no approximate profit margin for Cardano.
If you are going to believe in Cardano, and that, and if you know, C K. C K. Also knows this.
That this has been the problem that we have to discuss whenever you go to general Cardano spaces.
That we need investors. Need need need the in cash and inflow of money in and out of Cardano. Even
though Cardano volume is very very big, the other volume is very very big.
But what's happening to investors to come and build in Cardano and then take up
the the the market price and everything and then let people get the profit of their money.
But still, still, it's a good chain to. Am I? But still there. We can hear you. All right. So, so,
still, still, still, it's a good chain to to be in. I think I will say one thing about myself.
Why I was in Cadano? I was in Cadano because it's it's it's the only next best chain to be in
the world, and that's a fact. I'm a researcher. If my my background was background in research
and philosophy, before I got into Cardano, so I got into Cardano because of research.
I maybe I'll start bringing up my old posts about Cardano and stuff like that.
I've done really plenty series on Cardano and other things related. So,
but the first thing I want to say about Cardano is that it's the next best chain after Bitcoin.
We all know that Bitcoin is the only worthy, on paper, the only worthy chain.
Every other chain that exists is trying to do a trade-off between what Bitcoin is doing,
and so Cardano is like what Charles. Shall cause the defy the defy of Bitcoin because Cardano
for three things. First of all, is Cardano provides the best kind of decentralized government
whatsoever in crypto. It might be messy. Cardano just is always messy because you always find
governance problem every day, every year here and there. You see I H O K and the Cardano Foundation
fight and stuff like that. But that is the best kind of governance you can ever find in
any other blockchain. Cardano has it because Cardano has the real Type of decentralized government.
Other chains don't practice it. Other chains has a kind of central organized way
of governing their governing their the blockchain. Only in Cardano that you have this kind
of dRep issues, dRep functionality. So if you are looking for pure decentralization,
that is where you have to find Cardano. If you are looking for pure technological development,
Cardano is one of the one of the best technologically advanced blockchain security wise.
Cardano has not been directly hacked so successfully. I think when I was away, if it was,
I don't know, but successfully, Cardano has not been overhauled, like technologically hacked,
successfully, in a grand scale. So it has one of the best security, onoberos,
best security ever that you can find in the blockchain industry. Then, thirdly,
is that Cardano is research-based. It means that Cardano has a very long, very long.
I used to call it very long roadmap. If you studied the history of Cardano very very well,
we shall study it very very well. You see that it develops with a certified roadmap.
From the first paper released, from the first paper down to Byron, down to the governance act,
the governance epoch. So it's a very stable blockchain that survives with or without FOMO,
that survives with or without hype. So no blockchain ever can sustain the kind of SEC regulations
that Cadena has faced, together with the Ripple and stuff like that. So with all this
being researched. Perspective of the financial downsides of Cardano. I think Cardano is
the best blockchain ever after it's going actually. So that is why I'm here.
That is why I still talk about Cardano every time, everywhere. I can still invest my money
other places if I want to get my money, but I still have my own money in Cardano ways.
When I was building, when I was building some kind of community in Cardano,
I spent most of my money building Cardano stuff, paying people, this, that, and stuff like that.
So I, I think I spent all my Cardano, all my ADA. Here too. So yeah, so that's all to say.
I think it's a very nice time. Yeah, it feels feels good talking about Catalunya again
after a very long time. So I think I'm free now to talk about it to some extent.
So a shout out to you guys, CK. It's been amazing talking to you guys. Ah, how about L, L
and other guys, L Morin, big guys, L Morin. I see Nana there. Nana, what's up?
Other people that other other guys again, those big guys in Kaduna that used to like talk a lot. L,
for example, L is L is unbelievable. All right, thank you guys, thank you guys. I mean,
if you have some time after this, you can talk. All right, thank you, Max,
for also for the addition to the conversation. I really appreciate that. Yeah, thank you. Um,
I already told NB that that will be available tomorrow. Yeah, but I will let him know the time.
Everywhere seems to be quiet. What's popping? Ayomi, are you there? Ah, you guys are not hearing me.
No, we can hear you, Ayomi. I can't hear you. I can't hear you. I can hear you.
I I I actually think Ayomi is roging. I don't know. Um, I think she's roging kinda. Oh, are you? Ah,
I'm active. I'm active. Can you guys hear me? I'm active. I can hear you. I can hear you. I think.
I think. In a way, Ayomi is always ragging. Ah! Oh my God. I'm in Nigeria, so it's a normal thing.
Um, but you guys can hear me now, right? Okay, thank you. So as I was saying, I said, um,
what did I even say? Ah, I'm always lost in thought. Yeah, I said thank you, Max, for the addition.
Thank you so much for, um, all of those things, um. We really appreciate that, and I also see, um,
uh, ma'am, she, Chichi, you want to say something? Okay. So I pinned, I added some things up there
when Max was talking. It talked about the roadmap, uh, and some other things like that.
I already pinned it to the Jumbotron. Yeah, these are some um posts I created some times back,
some weeks or some months back, I guess. So you guys can also check it out. Yeah. So
when I was talking about, I want to really talk about um. Something before we call it a day,
cause I need to, I need to also leave as soon as possible. So when I was when yeah, um,
Max talked about um um the peer-reviewed research and all, and I I also realized that the idea
of that is that um like the idea is just like study problems, research possible solutions
about this problem, test them and then build, and I think that actually makes a lot of sense, right?
Um, another thing I want to quickly talk about is um proof of stake, yeah.
I'm very sure that most of us that are new or um yes, I think I have some new people here.
Let me see. Let me see the names again. Um, okay, just just blazed. I think it's only blazed
that is here right now. Blazed and it's only blazed that I know. Um, okay. So on Cardano,
we use what we call proof of stake, and I'm very sure that you may you may have heard of proof
of work from Bitcoin, right? But the proof of work is a different approach to Reaching agreement
and securing the blockchain network, like on Cardano, we have what they call stake pool operators,
and now these stake pools play an important role in producing blocks and securing the network.
And so that will bring about staking. So when you hear someone say, "I stake my ADA,
" They they actually talking about um participating in proof of stake system in Cardano.
I remembered the first time when I heard of staking, the only thing that came to my mind like
before I made my research was that okay, so I want to put my ADA somewhere. Ah,
so which means that I'll not have access to my ADA again, or does it mean that um I'm giving someone
else my ADA like I'm I'm putting my ADA in in the hands of the stake pool um
that I'm delegating my ADA to, and then I'll not have access to it. Like I was overthinking.
Then I realized that oh, it's not actually like that. Even though if I stake To like a stake pool,
I still have access to my either. I can do anything I want with my either. It's not locked,
you know. Things like that. Okay, I'm trying to accept. I don't know why it's not.
It's not connecting. I think it's the network. Ah man, I'm tired of I'm tired of Nigeria sometimes
because because of network. It's it's crazy. It's really crazy. Yeah. Okay. So um, hi Don. Welcome.
So, not like bore you too much. You can always check out the post I created.
I pin it up there to learn about the Cardano roadmap, to learn about staking on Cardano,
the proof of stake, and also the origins of Cardano. You can check all of the posts out to learn.
And if you want to learn more about it, you can always go to Cardano Academy
as well to learn more about all of these things. Yeah, because I always tell people,
please just go to Cardano Academy. Don't use ChatGPT. Charity will mislead you. Yes,
it will mislead you because charity, charity has misled someone before,
and it affected me because I believed what the person told me. So I don't like it
when you like use charity to learn. Like things like this, just go to the right, um,
legitimate um resources, right? Just like Kadano Academy, go there. You will see the right things
to know. You will learn from the authentic source, so it's better that way.
Those things I just do is maybe, uh, maybe fun to like. I don't want to even say it.
I don't want to say anything. Just go to Kadano Academy. Just learn, learn from Kadano Academy.
Yeah, that's what I'm going to say. Um, so we have done comments here before we call it a day.
It's almost 10 p.m. Yeah, that comment. Hi. Hello, hello. Um, GM, GM. How are you guys doing? Um,
I'm coming back from the state right now. Um, so I I came to say switch, switch, switch. Okay, okay.
Sorry guys, sorry guys. Um, GM, everybody. Um, sorry, I came, I came late. Um,
I was dragged to a gaming space, so I I forgot how interesting gaming space used to be.
So I kind of lost track of time. I I just forced myself out of the space.
You guys now understand the kind of Tolerance, just like the way um CK talks,
and then nobody can interrupt him. That was how that was how was how I was heard in that space,
guys. So yeah, well um um I I believe you guys have fun. So I I'll just like if the space is ended,
I'll just go through it. But I believe um amazing stuff was shared. Or meanwhile um I look at
Lucas is the one that is behind M M forty five B, right? Yes, yes, yes. Yeah,
I've I've missed Lucas though. Um, not not the type of do you always attend the session?
Do you always attend the session? No, it's it's all sessions right now.
All the sessions mostly coming when I'm very very busy and it pains me a lot because, um,
I actually want to be part of it. Um, because you know it's just you. If I want to like go
or level up, at least I have to like learn from the best. So um, yeah,
it's always that most of the times that the session mostly holds is when I'm not like
very very busy. Or even if it sends me reminder, I'm not I'm not going to be on my ex.
Me that is always on my ex since four hours. So, but anytime sends me reminder
that that time frame I'll no longer be active. And it's Ek Ek is part of the problem. So Ek,
please stop disturbing me on WhatsApp anytime. And Lucas wants to send me a message on what on X,
okay? Oh, meanwhile, um, happy to see a new face today. Um, Max, I'm happy to see you. Um, Nana, um,
I'm already used to Nana. Nana, I'm happy to see you as well. Um, there is this footballer hands
on Nana. If I'm correct, I don't watch football. Um, Ekdem shall know before they will yap me now.
Oh, um, GMGMDP, um, nice to see you, yeah, MB, Aya, um, happy to meet you. Yeah,
I'll I'll drop my mic so that people can talk. Though, thank you. Um, okay, let's hear from.
Who is up the hand first, man? I don't know. I just want to say thank you and about my sessions.
Like everyone, have a look on the jumbotron. We really want more learners until
the end of the month, and we we want your feedback. If you're on Cardano already,
we want your feedback. If you know anyone that you want to onboard Cardano to Cardano,
but you don't have time to give them ten hour session, ten hours or five more sessions or something,
that's what we are here to do. Yes, please check out the jumbotron and sign up on the forty five
v. Io slash web three. Am I correct, Lucas? That is perfect. Okay, thank you. Uh huh.
So you guys can just sign up there to, uh, register so you can get notified about um
upcoming sessions and all. Yep. Okay. Okay. Um. I. I. I was actually um.
I wanted to ask him Lucas earlier. Most times I do forget that Lucas actually handle um 45B. Um.
I think I've equally um joined the WhatsApp group, but I. I've not really been following up,
but a couple of times I dropped in there. I I didn't see um some messages aside some
of the brief important discussions there. So I was really curious to you
um Ayomi actually um mentioned the website now and I'm looking at it right now,
but I had something you actually um make our time to teach the person um four hours or six hours
or something like that. Can you actually um clarify on that, please? So what what I was saying about
the hours is that. We have taught some groups for 25 hours over three months, but that's too long.
So what now? Our format that we are trying to to get learners for is like a sprint of three weeks,
three weeks, three calls a week. You don't need to come to all the calls.
So now we've already ran three calls of those. So there are six calls.
That we're going to continue doing, and if you already know what the wallet is and etc.
On the next call, the invites I'm sending for tomorrow is let's understand a bit better what is
the address, what is this, what is the block, who does what. So we're going to go under the hood
for the next three sessions and understand a bit how smart contracts can work from the point of view
of of your application. And then we ideate some projects. So, like conceptually,
what could your project do? Would it send something through a contract? And then,
how do you get paid? What's the business model? Is it legal? It's all that.
It's not just what is a C race. So, by the end of the month, I don't. You're not ready to create
your own project, but you're a lot better than you started. Okay. Ah, I'm.
I think I get it better now. That's really lovely. I will actually be joining more because I'm.
I really want to sign up. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I will sign up
and I will be joining Monday um sessions because lovely. Yeah, I really want.
We we have one tomorrow as well, so if you send it now, I'm sending the my I'm literally sending it
now the emails for tomorrow. Okay, okay. I will just do that right now. Um, before
before you close up, um, D P, please, um, can you actually check your DM?
I sent you um a a message for for right now. Okay, so I would always advise anyone to join
Lucas's um unboxing sessions. I mean, Lucas is a very good teacher. Yes, I learn so much from him,
and his the sessions are usually very interactive, right? So he and there are going to be more.
Uh huh. Yeah, he breaks things down. He doesn't get tired of answering questions.
Like he's going to give you scenarios so you can understand what he's talking about.
So I would advise anyone to join his sessions. Um, seek it. Seek it left already. Okay. Um,
any final thoughts from anybody? Nana, do you want to say something before we call it a day? Um.
Yeah. I think. Uh. The kadano gurus have already spoken, and a lot has been said about kadano. Um.
If we're writing pages, I'm sure we probably would have uh, you know, like a full book by now.
But yeah, I mean, all I would say is that you know whatever you are doing in the space,
just keep on doing it. Um. If you are not getting enough uh attention at the moment, do not give up.
You know, like Ayomi was saying, when she started, at some points she had to speak to herself
on a space. But now, look at the numbers she's clocking on every space, right?
So whatever you're doing, just keep on doing and don't give up. Karano is here for you,
and you should also be be here for Karano as well. Yeah. Thanks. Have a nice evening. Thank you,
Nana. Thank you so much. See you back. Yes, Iomi. Shout out to you. It sounds
like you're trying to wrap this up because you got like a clean little hour and out.
Because you're a woman doing business out there in the great land of Nigeria, or so I heard.
Shout out to Nigeria, man. I have such appreciation, regardless of the rough internet connection.
Iomi, thank you so much. You, man, you touched on what is a blockchain, right? Like I imagine,
like like Bitcoin is an example. All that's in a Bitcoin block, it's all of the receive addresses
that exist on the network, and what are the UTXOs, the unspent transaction outputs
that are associated with each address that exists on the network. Kind of like if you know
your random string of numbers, we send some ADA, for instance, to that,
and then at that address will exist those unspent transaction outputs,
and then with ADA we have extended unspent transaction outputs. So our UTXOs have
additional expressiveness in in the Cardano set. But yeah, I love that.
Like talking about what is a blockchain, what is in each of these blocks, and when people realize,
oh, it's just all of the people that have said, hey, send me some Bitcoin or send me some ADA,
and then someone spends an unspent transaction output and then creates
new unspent transaction outputs that are moved on the ledger to these new addresses,
and that is what's being created in each block. It's like a page of the assignment of the
of the assets or the UTXOs associated with all those receive addresses on the network,
and then over the course of time, yeah, that the the The proof of custodianship of those assets gain
the weight of of of the temporal record. I'm I'm going way wider, you know, into the sauce.
But then you talked about proof of stake versus proof of work. One of the advantages of Cardano is
we're more than 30,000 times as energetically efficient, you know, to to validate
and achieve consensus on the Cardano blockchain relative to Bitcoin. And one of the in exciting sort
of things that are that that that we're right here on the cusp of.
Is we're probably going to live in an era very soon where we can have a copy of the Bitcoin ledger
living in the Cardano SPO set, which is going to allow us to to bring smart contract expressiveness
to all 21 million of the Bitcoin UTXO set and the 21 million Zcash set, the Monero set.
I think that's the exciting future vision of Cardano that people are missing.
We become the smart contract solution for the UTXO regime globally. We become the home of good hope,
grand unified UTXO theory. But anyway, Iomi, I'm going to land the plane on this.
Keep holding these awesome spaces. Keep growing. I hope you keep getting the support of people
from the community, whether it's Don and and Eke and Max and Nana and all that. And Amen, Max.
The power of decentralized governance is profound, but that also serves to illustrate some
of those differences in proof of work versus proof of stake. I think Satoshi Nakamoto
noted very wisely that that distribution profile is key. We need many players
that are participating in the market, such that we might inspire the emergence
of the invisible hand. The invisible hand of free markets is inspired when we've got many
of us making those free choices in the open market. So I love to see Cardano growing.
So it's not just you know input output and their two billion Genesis grant or the six hundred
and fifty million to the Cardano Foundation Genesis grant you know or endowment
and the two billion to Emergo that we're allowed to you know that that saturate stake pools right.
But when you're only paying your buddies, and we need more talent at the party,
we can limit our growth. So I'm excited, Amen, Max, that as we begin to move out of some
of us contractual obligations, right? And and and congratulations, Max. I mean, there are
few better reasons to not be able to express yourself like fully than being like paid for it
in a meritorious endeavor. So I hope you know whatever cool projects that you are
that you are getting involved with, bro. I hope they they served you well
and that you're in a good spot. But it's great to see you, Max. So shout out, shout out to you, bro.
Shout out to you, Iomi, DP, Don, Ek, Forty Five B, and yeah, the the show rolls on, rolls on, Iomi.
Let's keep learning and growing. I think our best days are ahead. Our best days are ahead. Yeah.
Bet that is a. But yeah, yeah, yeah. Um, I'll be dropping off now. Um, it was fun. Um, actually,
I I missed CK too. Um, I I just wanted to hear his voice before I leave,
and I'm happy that I I was able to hear my love's voice, CK and them Lucas. So yeah. Um, sorry. Um,
yes, it's true. I remembered yes. Ekh said on me, guys. I was on a space.
Ekh was telling was telling people that he he was on a call with his friend,
and I was not asking myself when they have a call with Ekh, and bro, it it was not me
that he called though. But that's that's a just from that day. But um, I I'll drop it.
Don't you sound gay? You sound that sounds gay, bro. No, as my no, this is brotherly love though.
I don't know what you are talking about, fam. Okay. Um. Thank you, guys. I see Priyansh and Ob. Hi,
Priyansh. Hey, everyone. I am Priyansh. I am currently part of like forty-five B cohort,
and Lucas recently onboarded me into the Cardano community. I am still learning,
exploring the ecosystem. So it's really nice to be here and listen to everyone.
Just wanted to say hi. I really appreciate um you requesting for the mic,
and we appreciate you being here. We hope to see you in our future episodes as well,
and also I hope to connect with you on locations um or body sessions too. Yeah, yeah.
So soon we're gonna try to have a way for learners to meet each other.
We're gonna have like a portal where you can see each other's links and everything. Yeah,
that's great. When when CK said AK, AK like when CK mentioned AK's name and forty five B,
it sounded like AK forty five. Oh yeah! Well, shout out to Nas's Ether.
If you have not heard that track, it is straight fire, just for the art. But yeah, man, shout out to
Nas's Ether. Man, put them in a pine box with nine shots from my Glock, fella. Oh my God! But hey,
it's awesome to see you roll through Krianesh, and I I am keen to to learn more about you on maybe
the next card on our newcomers, maybe in a space with forty five B. But uh. But amen, bro. And also,
shout out to Don and brotherly love. That is so important. One of the hallmark of good friends is
when we can kind of, you know, it's like old language, like but get like ribbing
when you kind of make fun of each other. But it's you know you're trying to learn and grow together.
But for any of our homosexual brothers and sisters, it may not be my flavor.
But as long as y'all are consenting adults, you're welcome to my barbecue.
I just wanted to put that out there because this is a recorded space. I'm not trying to cast stones
at anybody. And again, man, if if you find love with someone out there,
boot in the baby Jesus bless you. But that's just where I'm at. That's just where I'm at.
Shout out to you, Ayomi, and thanks again for holding this space where we can all meet
and share ideas and cultivate community and learn a little bit, you know. So thank you. Thank you,
CK. AK, what's your flavor? Ayomi, Ayomi, I don't have any reply to you. CK,
I actually wanted to ask, would you be coming to Token Twenty Forty Nine? Bro, you know what?
I believe that's in Singapore this year, and shout out to the great land of Singapore. But I, man,
I gotta get my passport ready and all this stuff, and I just don't have,
I don't have enough of a business imperative to go there to justify the the journey right now.
But I do hope that everyone has a great time. Are you gonna be heading to Token Twenty Forty Nine,
bro? Okay, you're muted. Oops, I think it's it's rugging. But then fair enough. Yeah,
but then he said it might be there. He told me might be there. Yeah. Um.
So I think we're gonna call it a day now. I hope to see you guys in the next episode. By the way,
I created a Kadano Nigeria X account, and I pinned a post from um from the account
to the Jumbletron. You can check it out. Do well too. Follow the account and yeah,
because we are trying to really, really create active presence of Cadano in Nigeria,
and this is just the beginning. I hope we get all the support by following the account. Thank you,
blessed fingers. You've been requesting for the mic since. Is your network balanced now? You,
I have been. You know, the thing is that I have been up on the discuss section for a while now.
I think you are the one that been connecting issues. Well, I just didn't request to speak.
Like I don't, I didn't respond. So I was just listening to you guys. So I have been.
I'm just here to support you guys. To support you, I also support you. Actually,
and then just listening when ZK and then for 45B was speaking. Is it 45B or 45B? Yeah. So
when he was speaking here, and so just needs you guys. That's all. Uh,
you guys say GM to every single person once again. GM for you. Yeah. Amen, brother. Thank you. Okay,
guys. See you next week. It's PMU to see on Thursday. Bye. Enjoy the rest of your week. Stay safe.
Bye bye. Oh, someone requested for the mic. Big stand. So sorry. Do you want to speak?
Big stand is up already. I've been connecting issues. Bro, I'm here, bro. Can you hear me? Yeah,
we can hear you. So sorry. Oh, okay. Um, yeah, I thought you were going to close up the space. Um.
Today's my birthday. Just going around spaces and saying it. I'm going around spaces.
My birthday was last week. My birthday was last week too. Oh wow! I also have a family member
of mine that happened to be the same day with me, which is today. So we're together. Yeah.
Happy birthday to you, big star. Oh my god! This is a color space. But yeah, thank you so much.
I appreciate that. All right. Um. Take care of yourself. Bye, guys. Yep. Thank you. Bye. Bye.
