Music Thank you. okay okay hi everyone i think should we wait a little bit more for people to join again
okay we wait a little bit because we got rugged maybe amanda can you add a co-host
so that that if one drops off i think it stays if you have a co-host so that if one drops off, I think it stays if you have a co-host?
Yes, that would be great.
That's quite a common thing that happens, I guess.
Yes, I think it was the first time happening to me.
I know. it causes a disturbance
yes uh well thank you so much everyone for joining us thank you sky um
uh yeah so i think i'm just going to reintroduce again so in case anyone people are listening to the recording they can't catch up
but yeah welcome to our first causes quadratic funding round um a cause is a curated collection
of verified projects grouped around a shared team and donations to the causes are distributed to the projects through an AI agent and the cause creator earns
3% of donations. For this round, we have four sponsors, the Sandbox DAO, Public Nows,
Shapeshift, and we had a last minute addition, which is the community. So thank you everyone
who donated to the Giveth matching pool because that allowed us
to double the pool from 20k to 40k which was just incredible um yeah the round started on
august 10 and we will run until august 24 so make sure that you use the next nine days if my math is good enough to donate to this amazing
causes and amazing projects we have a matching pool size of forty thousand dollars and um yeah
the maximum matching per project is three thousand on gif um and please donate to causes it's very
important to donate to more than one because that also
makes the matching better so make sure that you guys also donate to each other it's really
important to have the community back in each other i think this is um an amazing opportunity
to get to know other projects and contribute to the ecosystem as well um yeah well let's welcome our sponsors we have public nouns
uh iskai is here so welcome oh wait griff just joined hi griff no but sky can start sky can
start okay your mic was open so i just wanted to check. Awesome. So, Skye, welcome. Thank you for joining us. Can you tell us more about Public Nouns? You guys have been with Giveit for such a long time. It's not the first QF that you're sponsoring, so yeah, feel free to share anything.
having me. I'm here representing Public Nouns, who that account is also joining the space,
but I'll speak from my personal account. I guess this is my opinion. Yeah, Public Nouns has been
a DAO in the space for the last three years, and its focus has been funding wild experiments in the public goods space.
And so you can go on the site, publicnouns.wtf.
You can look at the DAO proposals.
You can see many of the different things that the DAO has funded.
Often, it's been a source of funding for kind of new wild ideas in the related public goods space with like a decent chunk of money so
that that that team or that person can commit to that new idea you have a few months to build it
and get things off the ground and so generally historically most grants that have been given out by public nouns now have been kind of
bigger chunk one-off grants to specific projects and those projects sit in many
different verticals in the in the ethereum world and and the web3 space
and public good space in general there's lots of things in the educational vertical, infrastructure, software, regen, all different things.
And so you can go look at the different projects. And so those were always one-off grants.
And a couple of them have been repeat grants, such as helping support Giveth in general many of the rounds and so there have been
a couple a few different iterations of grants to the Giveth and supporting Giveth in general
but many of the projects receive one-off grants and so with the cool thing now with causes is there is this ability to put all of the projects that have received grants
from Public Nouns that are on Giveth as well as many of the projects that Public Nouns has worked
with all into one big group called the Public Nouns what is it called it's called the Public Nouns Grantees and Fam. And so that's the name of the cause. And there's about 26
projects in there right now. And so now anyone that is excited by this community, excited by
the initiative, the DAO, can now give to this cause. And this cause is in this QF round on Giveth.
You're able to give to that cause and support that whole community all at once. And so that's
something that is additive to what Public Nouns DAO had been doing in the past. And so we're excited
that Giveth has invented this. Public Nouns itself has given grants to support Giveth has invented this.
Public Nouns itself has given grants to support Giveth and this specific round.
And so then, yeah, but givers into this round
can also support this cause
and all the different causes that are part of it.
And so thanks for having me.
If you have any questions, happy to answer.
But excited to see how this new QF round goes.
Awesome, thank you so much, Kai.
And can people get a public noun?
via this on-chain auction mechanism.
It hasn't been too active recently.
Theoretically, they can be sold every 12 hours.
And so, for many, many months, public nouns were sold every 12 hours.
There is currently a Gitcoin-headed public noun, number 508, on auction on the site at public nouns.wtf.
If you, this is the way you join public nouns DAO, one NFT equals one vote in the DAO.
This is the way you become part of that community.
It's a really great community of people in the space, highly aligned in the public goods world.
And yeah, the DAO actually gets benefits sometimes from other projects, whether it's airdrops or things
or early access to things.
And so being a part of this community
is also a good thing to be a part of.
So you can check that out at publicnouns.wtf.
Thank you for being again with us in this other QF round.
And feel free to drop the link for the publicnouns cause as well and pin into the space.
And everyone make sure to check that.
And everyone make sure to check that.
And also we just pinned to public nouns dot WTF in case you want to check and learn more about public nouns and also purchase a public noun.
Hi, can you tell us more about what Sandbox is and Sandbox DAO is doing?
Hi, yes, thank you, Amanda.
And that was a great intro there, Sky.
It's great to hear more about public nouns.
So Sky and Griff, nice to meet you.
I'm Kunta, the communications lead at the Sandbox DAO.
And, well, the Sandbox DAO exists to empower and further drive the future of the Sandbox game.
So I'm sure if you guys are in here, you've probably heard about the Sandbox game,
but Sandbox.game is the website.
It's a user-generated content-based metaverse gaming platform where all of the
assets in the games are NFTs and you can build out the characters and the assets yourself and
develop the land yourself. And we've funded a lot of stuff like new tools to make it easier to build
out the game. And one of the categories of funds that we have is for charity and public good as well so
um it's not really just about the game but it's empowering the community and you know a lot of
the people in our community care about good causes and making the world a better place and so we've
created a category of funding just for that uh and so i believe giveth, this is through the SDGP actually, so the Sandbox DAO grant program that we were able to fund this round here with Giveth.
So we're really excited to be part of this.
As far as the Sandbox DAO goes, anybody's welcome to be a part of it.
If you have just five SAN tokens, I think they're like a quarter each now, 25 cents or so, or a piece of land. Those give
you voting power and the Dow. So, you know, there's 6 million wallets out there in the world that
holds hand. We've got a lot of members, but, you know, it's always about just trying to get people
active. I'm sure as anybody here who's trying to get people involved in good causes knows it's
really hard to get people to participate in any kind of governance process or you know just trying to make change so um you
know we always try to get more people involved so if you're into building out the metaverse you're
into gaming you're into communities that care about good stuff hop into a forum.sandboxdow.com
and you know we love to have new people involved we call us we call them sand fam so you know i
always tell you love y'all sand
fam and love your public nouns and uh and giveth you guys are doing great stuff so thanks to
everybody out there you know where to find me um i'm in here on my personal account too kunta hey
i see metaverse street journal in here with us too go check them out they do lots of great stuff
all right so i don't want to take up any more time. Thank you, Amanda, for what you're doing here.
And hop over to our page here on X at Sandbox DAO
if you want to find out more about what we're up to.
It's so nice to learn more about what Sandbox is doing.
And thank you for participating in this round with us um um yes we also pinned
to the sandbox website the forum and sandbox.game so make sure that you guys check
those links as well um yeah griff welcome to the space do you have anything to add
Yeah, Griff, welcome to the space. Do you have anything to add?
GM, GM. Well, I mean, maybe I could just give some more background on causes and where it is in the Giveth Roadmap.
One of the things that we've been working towards for, actually, basically, I've been working towards it for almost a decade, is the idea of GURVs. And effectively, the goal is nonprofits create value. We should be able
to create economies that can appreciate that value and return that value to the people that
are creating it. So at least some of it. So that's what we've been working towards in Giveth since
our existence. And we've had lots of trials and tribulations.
We've launched several economies, about, I think, 13 different tokens through QAC and the Token
Engineering Commons and the Common Stack and a bunch of other, maybe more than 13 different
economies that we've been trying to promote and trying to figure out how do we crack this nut?
trying to promote and trying to figure out how do we crack this nut?
How do we come together and find a pattern that can be repeatable
for people to launch tokens that can actually benefit the world and fund public goods?
And so cause cause markets is going to be the next iteration of causes.
And our first thing with causes that really excites me is
that I'm really aligned with is finally aligning
and giving people some kind of roles. Like we always thought that we would launch tokens for
nonprofits. That nonprofit founder would come in, have like an easy repeatable pattern where they
could launch their own token and be making money while doing public goods, right? I have lost faith in that direction, actually,
like that nonprofit founders, the Venn diagram between nonprofit founders and people who can
launch their own token successfully is getting smaller and smaller as time goes on. I don't
think that most nonprofit founders could launch a token in 2025 successfully. And so we're taking a step above
where we're creating causes. And with causes, you have basically someone who creates the cause,
a fundraiser, someone who's focused on bringing money into the cause and into these projects
that where the nonprofit founders are receiving that money
and focusing on doing the good work that they're doing. And so this is a great, huge step towards
launching tokens for causes eventually, which is what we want to do in the long run. But for now,
every cause owner has an incentive to bring funds into these different nonprofits these different
public goods organizations they they get three percent of all donations and that's super cool
because now we're aligning incentives something that we've noticed in give us was that project
owners were always the ones that were focused on bringing funds to projects and
that's because they're the ones who have the incentive they're the ones who can use that
money to do the good work but they're all very altruistic there's no actual win for them because
they use all that money to just give it away to do their do their public goods work so now we can
say okay because we've never collected fees on Giveth
for direct peer-to-peer donations. The money is just, the money goes through us. The money goes
directly. When you donate on Giveth, 100% of the money goes to the project. Well, now still,
we don't take a cut, but now we can decentralize this. We can allow anyone who believes in a cause and sees good projects on
giveth that they want to bring into their cause and they, they care about it.
And they want to raise money for it.
They can do that and know that if they succeed, they also win.
And it's that win-win, uh, that we're creating with causes that gets me
really excited about this feature.
Because finally, if you bring money into giv this feature because finally if you bring money
into give it uh if you bring money into non-profit projects on give it you can also make money by
doing that which is so cool finally the other thing that's really cool about causes is we're
using the give token on polygon to actually be be the financial rails for the whole process.
And we're integrating AI.
So an AI agent actually is the one distributing these funds based off the cause.
So when a cause creator creates the project, the AI will use that, just that, that the description of the project, and it will actually
decide which projects best are making impact towards that direction. And it will do a lot
of research, it'll look up all the projects, their social media, what are they doing lately?
What is their project description? And it'll take in as much data as we can and i'm so excited to
continue to update this ai to make it better and better almost like a charity navigator ai
effectively but focus on a specific cause for each cause so that's kind of the the idea with
the ai and then but the financial rails are super cool because this is getting us closer to the point where we will actually launch tokens for each cause with the give token as the underlying
collateral and this was has been the intention since we launched the give token back in 2021
and has been the intention of give us since we launched giveth in 2016 uh to actually build
these economies so i'm so excited to make this a real huge milestone for Giveth towards getting our end
game, getting our actual goals of trying to build repeatable patterns so that people who
are trying to do good work can be funded, not through donations, not through taxes,
And I'm confident we'll get there eventually, whether it's Giveth or somebody. It's just an important thing for humanity,
honestly, to figure out how to do this, how to fund public goods without taxes or donations.
And I think we're getting closer. So very excited about causes, really excited to have everybody
And I'm super, I just can't wait to see how this cause round ends up.
One more big thing that happened in this cause round is we actually have the UN represented,
The UNDP has some projects in Samoa and Afghanistan on Giveth that they put into a cause.
And so, yeah, it's a pilot project for further collaboration with the UN
through the UNDP, which is the UN Development Program.
It's like a huge organization within the UN.
So really cool to see that being piloted as well.
Yeah, that's, uh, those are my updates.
Awesome. Thank you so much for sharing about everything, Griff. This was amazing. Uh, I love
causes. I love that it's AI powered because like, I like sometimes um the same projects are always getting
the visibility and with the ai agent you kind of have like um you know you check the stats and
everything and i think that's so interesting and amazing turnaround for qf so i'm really excited
to see how this goes um yeah so before we go to the project chilling uh please make sure that you go to give
it dot io slash qf slash all uh so you can donate to the projects uh you can pick a cause a token
the network you will enter the amount and click on donate confirming your wallet and then you're done um yeah causes are started by
give power so you can help them gain visibility by boosting donations or givebacks so if you donate
more than five dollars each donation also enters you into the givebacks raffle and causes run on
give give tokens so your donations support the economy, grow the donor rewards pool, and help project and cause wonners to thrive.
So thank you everyone who is participating and joining us in this QF and also in this show space.
Let's go to the project so they can talk more about what they are doing and why they created that cause.
talk more about what they are doing and why they created that cause um so first we have sweet
oh wait before you guys speak please make sure that you pin the tweets with causes and project
links retweet the space so you can reach more people and project and support each other i think
this is the most important about qf. It's really about the community.
So make sure that you guys donate to each other.
That's really, really important.
Yeah, welcome sweet...oh, no, they're still there.
Please tell us more about your cause and what you're doing.
Hi, hi, GMGM. Is everyone here, Kriya? Please tell us more about your cause and what you're doing.
Thank you, thank you, Amanda.
First of all, thanks to all the sponsors, especially Public Announce.
I'm also the pre-announced holder, so they already did a lot of contribution in public
goods ecosystem and as well as the fans also give if great such innovative course because
previously we donate each dollar to support one project each time in doing a different
two front but right now there is a course,
we can increase different project together with one course.
And then you only do one donation
and you can support the whole circle
or the whole community with different project ideas.
So I would like to introduce about the GreenPill course today.
So GreenPill networks always empowering I would like to introduce Greenpear course today.
Greenpear Network is always empowering the local community to grow well to create a positive
environmental and social impact through the blockchain technology and also different collaborative
action through the local chapters. and you will when you jump into the Greenfield course so the name is our
Greenfield Network from local solution to global impact so we connect different
grassroots local chapters together and we hope collaborate with the global
impact and bring the impact back to the localism, which is aligned with ETHLM localism as well.
So we are still growing on including different local sectors into our course right now.
So if you donate one dollar, you will unlock part of the total matching pool for the case to support the whole Greenpeace network ecosystem
and your donation back to different cities
in different geographical area and support that citizens
and what they are doing in the public goods right there.
So which is really simple one.
And that's the first introduction about Greenpeace network's cause.
about Greenfield Network's course.
and also need to support the Public Nouns course right there.
we saw that the Public Nouns already do lots of
to make different proposals and contribute uh funding to support
the uh support in in the proper course ecosystem and thanks a lot of sky's introduction about that
and and probably now's cause is also doing in the qf round right
Awesome. Thank you so much. Wait, Sky, do you have anything to add from public nouns?
No, just that Swift Evo has been doing a lot in the public goods world. Obviously, he's here
representing a handful of projects and they're all tied into causes.
Some of them are also recipients of grants from public nouns.
And so, yeah entire base that is
aware of all these things is one of the most important things. It's obviously great to give
to each other, but hopefully we can get this out and educate the world on all these
amazing things that are happening and new technology like causes so yeah thanks
awesome thank you sky thank you sweet abo um yes please make sure that you share the link to your cause and pin into the space so everyone can check it.
KF Media is with their hand raise.
I didn't know if we were doing hand raises to cue projects up to show or whatever.
So I'm just being polite.
I'm just raising my hand, just letting you know I'm waiting in line.
the the next online so please feel free to share about your cause all right amazing uh for those
that don't know me my name is will t i'm the founder of kf media a community of education
enthusiasts and also an educational media company based in Web3.
So I'd like to share a little bit about our cause.
And thank you again to Giveth for hosting an amazing QF round.
Thank you to the sponsors, SandboxDAO and Public NounsDAO
for all of your contributions into the ecosystem.
I don't know the state of public goods would look so positive without this
very generous support that you guys are provided. And like you said, Griff, right? A lot of these
projects in the public goods ecosystem, this is one of their only sources of funding. So
a little bit of background. So we launched a program about a year ago called Pathways for
Latam. We were very excited when we were able to get that verified as a public good and givebacks eligible on the Giveth platform.
This is the inspiration for our cause. So I'll get there in just about 30 seconds or less.
But anyway, so what that program is, is we work with local community leaders across Latin America and now sub-Saharan African continent
who work within their local communities to bring people into Web3.
And we've created an innovative solution to where they can do it without any financial consideration
so they don't need to spend their hard-earned money that they're using to support their families to get into Web3.
So the name of our cause is called Global South Web3 Welcoming Party. And we have 41
projects in our cause. I'd like to highlight just a few of them, maybe some of the most
under-emphasized ones because there are some heavy hitters in here as well. But basically,
this cause, if you look in the About section, I'm just going to read the first paragraph real quick.
The purpose of this cause is to highlight the frontline workers whose primary mission is to educate and welcome into Web3.
People have little to no understanding of the technology, its capabilities, and more importantly, how it will be the core of the next generation of how humans connect across the globe using a network of information at their fingertips.
So, like I said, there's 41 projects in here.
Please consider this cause.
Some of the ones I'd like to highlight
that really is heartfelt sentiment from us
that we can help create this cause
to help get them more support,
like Helper's Social Development Foundation,
who's providing basic school supplies
in rural communities across Nigeria.
You'll also find in there Ayahuwaka, Uganda.
Most people are familiar with the work Jonathan and Ayahuwaka are doing to provide school
supplies to the most vulnerable children in Uganda.
Another one real quick that stands out to me right now is the Breaking Digital Barriers Initiative as well, which is the Zika Zana Trust for Community Development.
And they run a safe house for orphans and abedding children and child survivors of gender-based violence.
Please consider supporting our cause.
I will pin the link up in the nest shortly.
And thank you for the time and space.
You guys are doing amazing work.
Thank you so much for sharing more about this.
Again, please share the link to your cause and your project and pin into the space so people can check it.
Next, we had Token Bryce, but I think they disconnected.
So if they're hearing us, please ask again to speak
and we can bring you up on stage.
Yeah, let me check if they're not here.
So until then, we have MKPeace.
Hi, GMGM, guys. Welcome to the space. Hi, GM, GM, guys.
You know, I'm following, you know, for a while
and I'm very happy to be able to create my cause.
Childrenism, for me me is onlyism I think we all should follow.
The child-centered world where the big humans create the opportunities,
create the opportunities, the world where kids can live in peace, where kids can grow, where kids can
reach their full potential. They can experiment, they can try and our, in my opinion, mission is to catch them when they fell.
So they will be alive and then they will be able to continue their journey of their own choosing.
So to select the projects for my cause, I sort of followed that direction, you know,
to include the projects which are, in my opinion,
working in education, support, and as well technology,
you know, which creates the solutions to overcome the difficulties we are facing today.
The beginning of the word children is itself, for me, it was a festival.
I organized with my daughter in 2019 in Poland.
Dalia, my daughter, sent over 200 letters to old world leaders and Dalai
Lama answered and Polish president answered. And then I had to sell my apartment to be
able to pay for all the costs. But it was beautiful. You know, it was a prayer. It was can anyone hear us here uh anyone who's unmuted yeah colleen you can hear us? Oh, yeah. Okay, I'm seeing some... I'm so sorry. I lost sound.
I don't know if anyone else lost sound here.
Well, I heard you before, but not anymore.
I don't know if you hear me.
But it's definitely going in and out.
Oh, good old Twitter bugs.
So, I believe... Well, who who amanda can you i think amanda oh
amanda's back i am back oh my god like i was just checking here around like people speaking and
following me and then twitter just said you're having unusual activity and they just asked me
to do like some sort of confirmation or whatever.
And I couldn't hear anything, but I'm back.
So for next, we have, wait, are you guys still hearing me?
Twitter is traumatizing today.
For next, we have DeFi Scan.
Hey, thank you. Everyone hears me?
Cool. Thank you so much. I'm Mark. I'm sorry. It was supposed to be token price, as you said before,
but he was on the run, so he got to go, and I'm taking the hot mic.
hot mic so thank you so much guys um i'm uh i'm heading at the device can the the cause
that we call the defy transparency and decentralization cause uh to promote true
decentralization and transparency in defy and the evm ecosystem and uh you're doing such an
amazing thing to federate us it's it pushed us us to look for other projects, to call them, to ask them to promote the cause together because we have the same mission.
And we were supposed to have L2Bit on the side and various other projects.
But because of some legal aspect, time uh also constrained regarding these teams some people
couldn't come and uh l2bit will be next uh on the on this um the the givis cause but they don't
are um verified yet so actually I push them to verify it should be in the process so this this
is uh this is great like givis is really federating public goods and uh i cannot thank
you enough anyway for the cause uh so yeah we told everyone about defy and what is true defy
and there is a big problem with it vitali quoted the defy illusion as a great threat to the
ecosystem and uh well true neutralityality for the cyberspace.
And so this cause really aimed to stress and, you know, diverse sets of researchers, builders, educators combating these illusions.
So we provide assessment tooling with scanners, dashboards, future APIs, and we're actually streamlining ways for researchers to gather the data to
really know how centralized are some protocols and what risks are really in front of us.
We're also pushed to fund researchers who are pushing framework with universities and
We're also doing some lobbying work for the public space with public institutions and
private institutions to tell them
what is DeFi and true decentralization.
Ask any question and please give to as many calls as you can.
And thank you so much, Givis.
Please share the link so you can check your cause and your project
and pin into the space. And thank you so much for joining us and telling more about the
work that you're doing. Next we have Refi Cecilia. Welcome to the space.
GM, GM and buon giorno a tutti.
Right on. Thank you for hosting the space and really nice to be in another Give-Eth QF round. And we are in four separate causes
with a lot of overlap, food production,
refi Taoist, region agriculture,
and climate and societal transformation.
So we are a bioregional association.
And so our job and our goal is to take
and support the different regenerative projects within our bioregion and help them different projects receive financing, funding, support,
and basically get the actions that are happening off-chain to get the impact on-chain.
So we've been operating for a few years.
It's fun because we are doing small actions locally that are having both regional, national,
And so we work closely with ReFi Italia,
which is a newer bioregional scale organization
with different nodes around the Mediterranean,
as well as with ReFiDAO region coordination,
and most recently region commons, which is a kind of a neutral ground for all the different region projects
to come together to share resources.
And mostly we are focused on centropic agroforestry as a way to repair the natural capital. And also that is in the context of drought,
desertification, and wildfires, which is activating our community and is which is the main driver of
participation and adoption. And most recently, we have purchased, well, we've put a down payment on a piece of land, which is basically a forest sanctuary that is connected to adjacent to a nature reserve that recently burned down in July.
Future Reserve is closed and that helped inform our community to sense make that we need to access a space that we can basically preserve and protect as a example of what does a functioning ecosystem and biome look like for this region. community, do the courses, do the training, do the permaculture practices, and basically
be a space where the community can gather, learn and transform.
Because unfortunately, right now, tourism is one of the main drivers.
I mean, in the Mediterranean economy is one of the main drivers, and it's also a degenerative
driver because it both consumes limited natural resources
and tends towards privatization where there's just more purchasing of land, more construction
of villas. And so we were able to get access to this land and basically open up the commons.
And so the name of the forest is called Sharewood Forest,
kind of like a playoff Robin Hood, but instead of like S-H-E-R, it's S-H-A-R-E,
Sharewood, which describes what we're doing, which is we were sharing the woods.
And so we're doing a fundraising campaign for that with our newly launched website,
refisachilia.com. And yeah, it's just great to see this space evolve and to grow.
And also, you know, we have more tools than ever to basically be showcasing impact.
So I think that's the good news.
And if there's any questions,
otherwise, you know, hit us up in the DMs,
but we'll be shilling for the next 10 days.
Awesome. So great to have you here. Please pin into the space the link to your cause and your
project so everyone can check. Thank you so much. And next we have Colleen. Welcome.
Thank you so much. And next we have Colleen. Welcome.
Thank you so much for including me in this amazing group.
First of all, I want to say thanks to Giveth.
I've been involved with you in many different ways through all of your experiments.
And I really appreciate how you are always trying new ways to create value for nonprofits and make it possible for people like all of us who are trying to make a difference in the world to keep on doing it.
So I really appreciate that.
It's decentralized solar power for the people.
I've been working in this area for over three years now
as co-founder of the Solar Foundation. And the projects in my cause are all projects that I've
worked with personally. And I can completely attest to their need for more power to work with their communities. They're all community-led, rural places, mainly in Africa,
but we also have GenUkraine.
So many examples on our website or in this giveth cause of how very small amounts of solar can really have
ripples of impact, which I call true ROI in communities. So the projects that we're working
with right now, even if you can't see that they're working on solar in their Giveth profiles, they are all working with us on different solutions.
For example, Helpers Foundation really is in need of a solar-powered water pump for one of their schools in Nigeria.
You know, with the drought, with climate change,
wells are having to be dug much deeper.
And then it's really hard for people to get the water up.
And a very simple solar solution
can really help the entire community
be able to access more water.
We're also working with the Solar Foundation, a project that's dear,
so dear to my heart, which is Solar Saving Circles, empowering women entrepreneurs with solar and also
education around how solar-powered productive appliances can actually help with their farming, with their tailoring,
with their catering. So you can read about that. That's our newest update.
We're also working, we have Bloom Network, which I know is in several causes because they are so
fabulous. But we've been working with them on a brand new project in Liberia, which is the first time we've ever done anything in Liberia.
And it's a project where the school has absolutely zero access to electricity.
So we're working on a solar-powered solution for them, plus lanterns, so that students can go out and study at night in groups.
steady at night in groups. And then during the day, the lanterns are repowered with light from
the sun. So that's a new one for us, and it's about to launch. And lastly, of course, GenUkraine,
we've worked with solar punk nomads on bringing solar solutions and bikes for their ecovillages,
on bringing solar solutions and bikes for their ecovillages,
which I always think are so important.
Anyways, appreciate any support,
and I love hearing about all the good work everyone's doing here in the causes.
So can't wait to go and learn more and support you all.
Thank you so much for sharing, Colleen. Please make sure that you add the link to your cause and pin into the space. I know multiple of these projects that you mentioned, and they are doing such an amazing work, so I'm really excited to see how this goes.
Next, we have ETH Daily. Welcome to the space.
Next we have ETH Daily. Welcome to the space.
GM, hopefully Twitter doesn't rug me here. But thanks for having me. I am ETH Daily.
I have my own project, which is in a cause that I created called Ethereum Education.
So Ethereum Education, that is the cause, the mission is to make Ethereum understood. So it's a collection of projects that help spread Ethereum knowledge and information.
It's a content-focused cause.
So think blogs, podcasts, newsletters.
So right now we have a collection of 11 projects.
And the goal is just to make Ethereum easier to understand, more accessible.
We also have a couple tools like DeFi Scan, which spoke earlier.
That's pretty much it for the cause.
I just want to say causes are a really cool update.
It allows anybody to become a freelance grants manager.
So if you're listening to this, you can create a cause.
You can advocate for any of these awesome projects.
So thank you to Giveth, Griff, and the Giveth team,
and also to the sponsors for making this possible.
That was ETH Daily, right?
Thank you so much for all the great content
you guys are making every day.
I rarely miss an episode.
And thanks for making a cause.
It meant a lot to see you up there.
So, really appreciate it, guys.
Thanks, Griff. It means a lot.
Awesome. Thank you, ETH Daily.
For next, I'm calling Maria.
She has to go by the top of the hour
so please show your cause GM GM GM hello everyone hello Amanda hello Sky hello Griff
I'm Maria Freitas today I'm joining from Athens Greece 30 degrees 30 degrees outside. Oh, it is hot, even for a tropical being like me.
I can see lots of my friends here, you know, Diogo, Swiftivo.
I have a cause, and my cause is called copyright.
Yes, knowledge is one of our most powerful resources as a human, as a creator,
and we need to protect go for their copyrights
so that they can be free to share, collaborate
and reinvest the way they want.
So in this cause, we have eight projects
and our goal is to protect and restore copyright ownership
Me as a scientist, every time I publish, I lose 100% of my copyright.
Just by checking that box, you know, the terms and conditions that no one of us read ever,
I will just give away my copyright for my lifespan plus 70 years it is amazing we have to do something you know
against it and about it so we need to build open transparent decentralized platforms
where creators can control their work enable new models of impact,
turn knowledge into solutions,
accessible innovations, and shared prosperity.
So please support our cause.
We have curated eight projects,
all on decentralized designs.
I want to really deeply thank Giveth for this amazing round.
Thank you and I see you when you support our projects in this round.
Thank you very much for the time in this stage as well, Amanda. Thank you.
See you around guys thank you Maria and please
add the link to your cause here and pin into the space so everyone can check it
um thank you for joining us uh next we have uh Okiki welcome
Thank you. Thank you for having me.
So I want to thank each one of you.
I'm happy to phone you that.
Wait, we cannot hear you.
I think your connection is not good.
Do you want to rejoin the space?
Oh my god, what happened? I'm sorry. Hi, Gustavo. Oh, my God.
Is anyone listening to me?
Yeah, I'm listening to you.
Yeah, I just raised that they had just jumping in,
but I don't know if there are other people in the line before me.
Just to take advantage of that missing connection
to move forward with other participants.
Okiki, can you try to speak again?
Your connection was dropping a little bit.
Okay, can you hear me now?
Okay, okay. I'm happy to inform you that the donation we receive on GiveIt is currently helping us to start a classroom building.
And by January next year, we hope to start school in this classroom,
which means we expected to enroll in about at least 100 children in the school when the school is completed.
In this ongoing grant, we selected the system project how to use the Web3 technology to solve the problem
Because we at Hepa Foundation, the donation
we receive on the give and support
for these system courses we selected that focus on working on education, climate
change initiative. So this is what we do. We believe that we need support so that more children can have a process education.
Those communities who have no access to water and climate change issues,
Okay. I think your connection
Can you please rejoin the space
and then we bring you on stage again
and please drop the link to your cause.
Until then, let's have...
Let me see who's here on my list.
Okay, I think 3gens and Jose Cabrera dropped.
So please ask again to speak.
And next we have Agraforest, Dal. Welcome to the
Hello, hello, everybody. Just to have you two. And so happy for doing these calls it's such a important issue you know in my life
uh we are doing the food production calls um gotta say again thank you to all the sponsors and give it
keeping you know innovating in this field this using an AI for this can be really powerful.
I've been just thinking after we've explained a bit,
I could get in touch with the project and tell them to show some standardized
indicators of food production that could help the eye to take the decision
so yeah thanks a lot there is a lot of projects that are rural that are with communities
not all of them are very updated but they they've been around I've seen them often and I'm ready to get in touch with them if
needed and spread the word about this cause and also let you know if Gibbett is getting in touch
with each one of these or do you guys expect us to do so thanks a lot again.
And please share the link to your project and to your cause so people can donate here.
And thank you so much for being with us, Diogo.
It's a Brazilian project, by the way, so I love that.
Next, we have Jose Cabrera.
And then, yeah, welcome to the space.
Great. I have issues to join to Twitter spaces. Living in Venezuela, Twitter is blocked. My VPN sometimes doesn't work. I'm here to share about the cause I made called Venezuela.
I made this cause with five projects that I found, and I did the cause with a long-term vision of being able to onboard more Venezuelan projects.
It took me one year after getting to know about Giveth to launch my project, do technical and language barriers.
And to me, doing the cost was to be able to channel the energy I put into my own project, the music onboarding machine.
We have made a couple of impact concerts in previous quadratic funding rounds where we basically highlight many projects and we gather donations for all of them on Discord.
Basically, it's more effective for me to use discord and twitter and um we we are preparing an impact
concert to gather the nation for the venezuela cause uh because it was already a a cause and it was already like parent groups.
I thought that, you know, it was going to be different from the other rounds to gather donations.
Like I thought that only by donating to one cause, the matching funds will be the highest value.
But now on this call, I'm getting that we have to encourage donors
to donate to many causes.
I guess that same as the previous ones, at least three causes.
So what I want to do is to invite other causes owners to DM me
so we can add you up to the Impact Concert promotion.
And basically the Impact Concert is in about a week.
I'm still deciding the date, but I already have a flyer for it.
We are going to throw a music concert
where we are going to invite all the Web3 Native community members
that I have been able to connect through these eight years
doing digital street music
and being able to make effective donations through them.
And if I had more time, I would love to onboard my local community. I just spent two weeks being
offline with 50 beautiful women in a moon dance ceremony for the feminine. There's just so much
projects they want to make happen. And I just had little time to explain to them about Giveth.
But yes, for me, this cause is like perceived
I would love to see more of my local community
getting into WebTree tools.
Yeah, it's really exciting.
So if you can check the Venezuela cause and support
and donate, I do appreciate it.
One is made by ETH Venezuela.
The other one is a foundation
that is providing support also for some rains in Merida
that happened a couple months back.
The other project is the University
of Ancestral and Modern Knowledge in the Venezuelan Amazon,
an indigenous community getting support by Giveth.
We have been able to make so much support thanks to the donations that gets there.
My project, the Music Onboarding Machine, that it had been my way to sustain 24-7,
sponsoring my time to others to onboard people to Web3
and to help artists on Spanish and English
to get to know the tips and tricks
And the other project is the Impact Concerts,
which is the thing that we do,
that we have been making for at least six or seven editions
to gather donations across Gitcoin, Octant, and Giveth.
And so far, we haven't received a single penny for it,
and we have been able also to give a reward
to all the contributors that have helped us for free
in all these seven editions.
So right now, those are the only five projects.
I visualize that I can onboard my friends in different states of Venezuela doing long-term
vision projects, alike to permaculture, indigenous communities and rituals to get to make their
This is passionate people without infrastructure.
And I think, yeah, it was a really big move to me.
I wasn't sure of making the cost.
I wasn't going to make it, but I got the DM by Giveth.
It was a really important day for me, and I decided to hop on.
So if you have a Giveth cost, DM me, and we can put you into the lineup
so we can promote your cost, too, and we can put you into the lineup so we can promote your cost too and we can get donations
to promote the Impact Concerts.
I'm still deciding the date because I know
with funds and crypto are on
looking to do it on Monday maybe
is online. So yeah, i think that's it gracias
thank you so much and thank you for deciding to create a cause um please
shield the link into the comments and you can always spin into the space um i hope you have a
great time into your concert uh next we have Gustavo finally, hi welcome to the space.
Yeah thank you man, that's so thanks. For me it's an honor to be here, like big kudos for Giva
for all this you know, the things that you have to say and to me, I'm the first
in the first bathroom area and you were the first in my heart that wasn't important
so speaking about my heart that i created
wait can you can you get closer to your mic please i think your voice is very low yeah sorry can you hear me thank you cool yes
yes so this cause that i've created is called uh governance uh innovation decentralized governance
innovation because yes that has been like the biggest promise in DAOs to offer new crypto mechanisms to
assure inclusivity when we are taking decisions together.
But what I've seen is that it's pretty much the same, not pretty much.
Of course, there are a lot of initiatives that have innovated a lot, but still a lot of token voting system.
And even if we're innovating on things like conviction voting and so on,
I found that governance can always be improved
and there can be so much done around that.
Always with the aim to include diversity and embrace authenticity.
So I have created this discourse, you will find there the six different projects,
which are those that I've seen in the space
that have been willing to go to the extra line somewhere,
even in a cultural or more technical
in their mechanisms that they are proposing.
So you will find projects that are like grassroots economics
or urbanica or regions unite even.
Token Engineering Commons as well.
I know that they are really close to the Giveth Galaxy.
Of course, I wanted to support public known aspirations and Collabori,
where we are providing a new way to govern the compensations
for the contributors working in a project.
And of course, these are not the only projects working in making governance better for all of us.
I would like to get in touch with other projects that are in that space as well, willing to innovate and how people are taking decisions together always with them with the aim
of include also the minorities to to let people be hurt to like my dream is to raise more
the attention context and expertise people have on projects than the capital that they have that they could
be putting there so um this has been my my visions or or the principles that i stand on
when i'm ready to discuss and i would love to discover new projects out there but in the
meanwhile i will ask you just to support this project i have just
put the link to this decentralized governance innovation cause so you can where you can
just throw a few dice few usdc there and help the ecosystem to change for the better governance is change and innovating on how we make change we can
just move towards a better state of the art and kudos again to jose for doing that amazing cause
on venezuela i'm also venezuela i'm also supporting that cause so thank thank you, Givet, for doing what you do
and for being a leader in the Ethereum broader ecosystem.
And thank you for joining us for this QF.
Please make sure that you share the link to your project
and your cause and pin into the space.
Next we have Refi Medehine.
I don't think we can hear you if you're already speaking.
Okay. if you're already speaking. Okay, can you please rejoin?
And then we will bring you up on stage.
Just, yeah, please rejoin and request to speak
and you'll bring you here.
Next we have then Mems for Trees.
You know, my love for all of you wonderful people endures.
I hope great success for all of your endeavors helping people on the planet.
You know, I'm with the Carbon County Club.
We touch grass and plant trees.
We go do the things that we think need done.
A lot of great projects in those causes
so i'm only one of them and basically i do what i can here at home but a lot of it is just paying
it forward to to these other great people doing great works uh so if you guys you know got some
some money people can use some money uh and you know if all else fails you don't got any money
we got the you know we do some memes you know the memes. They're free, and I know you got them.
And how that helps is I get paid by X for being here and sharing memes with people.
And then I give that money to good people, such as yourselves.
These events are awesome, these events are awesome,
especially for projects like mine who fundraise a little bit of money
and see a lot more good happen.
So thank you for, you know,
putting all this together.
You guys are on, you know,
Giveth Tokens are on Polygon.
We're going to be working those
So looking forward to sharing that
Thank you for always being with us, James.
And yeah, I hope you found some good causes and projects to donate and that you're really donating.
We have until September 24.
So yeah, if you guys too didn't donate it, please do.
Okay, let's see if Rifi Medahin can speak now.
Okay, it looks like that's...
Yeah, Twitter is not being great with us today, guys.
Yes. Okay. that's that yeah twitter is not being great with us today guys um yes okay um yeah you know i i we could take a quick i've been having trouble trying to get lauren into the space
and uh and uh man i don't know what is with twitter today so if anyone's requesting to speak uh we apologize it's just a twitter being bad
uh because we're trying to approve people but uh it's not even working and i have lauren next to
me and we're working she's working on her phone i'm working on my phone and we're like trading
phones and we're trying we still can't figure out some kind of magical way to get someone up here
to speak so but i will say there are a couple other things that we can talk about. Both Lauren and I actually have causes ourselves, and these are really Giveth
Galaxy related causes. So there, you know, we've been working on lots of projects, kind of all of
them are spin outs of Giveth to try to solve specific problems like unicorn is trying to address like simple and safe
wallets and pairwise is doing liquid democracy and simple voting uh you know from the common
stack to q act to all these other uh interesting tokenization projects that we've been doing
there's a there's a lot of random uh projects that we've been putting a lot of effort into as a galaxy.
So feel free to definitely add those to your queue.
And it's worth mentioning, you know, with COCM, this is the new algorithm, new quadratic funding algorithm that is used.
It's important that you don't just donate to one cause.
If you want your donation matching power to really hit, the way to game the system is actually to donate to more causes.
This is why we love the COCM algorithm, because the way to game the system is to donate more.
That's the right kind of alignment that you want when you're creating donation games.
So, yeah, if you need some other projects to cause us to donate to,
I mean, there's so many good ones in the space, but it really is in your best interest to donate
to four or five causes so that you have a unique donation fingerprint. And that unique donation
fingerprint maximizes your matching power. Because if you just donate to one project,
and someone else also donated to
one project you're actually treated like one person so we would square root the value of both
of your donations as one so you really want to have a unique donation fingerprint which can
pretty much be achieved by donating to like you know three four five five projects for sure would
probably make you unique.
Unless, of course, you're doing it coordinating with someone else to donate to five projects.
Then you'd have the same problem.
So just remember, you want to have a unique donation fingerprint.
You want to donate to at least three causes, five for sure.
And do it without coordinating with someone so you can actually have a unique donation fingerprint and maximize your matching.
And if you really need some other projects,
some other causes to donate to,
cause you don't like any of the other ones,
Lauren's Give the Galaxy one is always a good backup.
So that's one topic that I wanted to bring up.
The next topic is actually one of the sponsors that we kind of forgot to mention,
Uh, you guys, many of you I know have donated to the Giveth matching pool over the years
and the Giveth matching pool actually kicked in 20K, uh, of, of funds to support the QF
So pretty awesome to see crowdfunding for the matching pool
to incentivize more crowdfunding. And so Giveth donors, if you look at, if you go to the QF round
and you look at the thing, there's a, there's a icon for Giveth donors. It was actually the largest
sponsor of the round. So super cool to see the matching funds funds accumulate now also a lot of this we were
holding eth so a lot of the funds that were in there are also due to some treasury management
and uh 10k turned into 20 pretty quick so which was pretty great and that we could actually now
use that use that uh success success and pass it down to projects
all throughout the Giveth Galaxy and on the Giveth app.
So that's a, yeah, major shout out to all of you
for sponsoring this round and being a part of this.
So if you ever feel like donating, you know,
we do this great thing where every two weeks uh one person wins
up a thousand dollars and nine other people get to split another thousand dollars worth of gift
tokens so every two weeks we're raffling off around it's around two thousand dollars worth
of gift tokens right now uh and if you're like oh man what project do i donate to this round i want
to get an entry into that into that lottery well the best one is to give it the matching pool because it helps us create
awesome QF rounds like this and all the funds will end up going to the best projects on the
platform. So, uh, yeah, thanks, I'll pass it back to you, Amanda. Awesome. Thank you so much, Griff,
for sharing this. It's just so amazing to see the community contributing to you, Amanda. Awesome. Thank you so much, Griff, for sharing this.
It's just so amazing to see the community
contributing to the matching pool.
And we also pinned a tweet
so you guys can check the public goods
and also from Okiki and Refinement Dehin as they could not speak due to connection
and Twitter issues. For next and last, we have Nexus Water. Welcome to the space.
Thank you, thank you. It's a pleasure to be here. This is my first time to this space. I actually just saw it pop up because of ReFi Medellin. I'm also in the ReFi space. So stop me or correct me if I'm not following protocol exactly. But I'm just going to shill, I guess.
That seems a pretty clear direction. So what we do at Nexus Water is we tokenize water and energy.
So for humanitarian aid, we have DeFi pools set up that will generate revenue.
And we do this through a very innovative model through NFT giving where it earns to give.
So a donor will actually be rewarded back over time for committing resources to a project,
capital resources to a project. So right now, the mission I'm working on is through Haiti Go.
It's a ministry in Haiti that supports a community there, orphanage, widows, has a school,
and lots of other very great things.
And so part of Nexus Water is,
I've been in the water technology space for over 10 years.
And I work with a technology called
an atmospheric water generator
or an atmospheric water harvester.
What that is, is a machine that makes water out of the air. So over the years with my growing interest in speculation and investments in crypto, I've been able to come up with formulas and ways
to merge the two by tokenizing water through this technology. So every leader produced through renewable sources could be tokenized, and that could
be packaged for carbon credits, that sort of thing.
We also have other initiatives that include tokenizing water and energy utilities.
utilities but our main focus is the humanitarian aid so I've done a I put a video in the comments
But our main focus is the humanitarian aid.
about a project that we did in Haiti a couple years ago and that was under my sister company
YAO water so that was the company I've had for the last 10 years Nexus water is the evolution
of that into the web 3 space through tokenization of of real world assets refi and dpin uh decentralized
physical infrastructure uh so a combination of all of this um great technology we have at our disposal
um through defy through nfts uh has made it possible for me to come up with these innovative giving and fundraising techniques.
So right now, like I said, our fund that we're supporting is Haiti Go.
So with NFT collection that I just came out with, that we're just releasing next week,
is designed to be integrated into the metaverse. So if you kind of scroll my page, you can kind of see I have a HQ or a presence in the metaverse.
I'm building right now on the XRPL ledger, but expanding into the EVM ecosystem.
Just last month or month and a half ago, EVM sidechain went live for the XRPL.
So now we're going to be able to expand into the EVM compatible sidechains like Arbitrum, Optimism, Polygon, Base, those EVM compatible chains.
So my first direction looks like it'll be Base, building on Base.
But a lot of this we can do natively on XRPL.
And because of the low cost of transactions and the low carbon footprint of the ledger,
that was kind of the initial choice for building or the decision that I made to start to build on the XRP ledger because as a sustainable, um, finance,
you know, uh, humanitarian aid, uh, carbon credit marketplace, I wanted to make sure that, uh, we
were as energy efficient as possible with the lowest carbon footprint. Um, so that's what made
me land here. Um, and the decentralized nation, uh, nature of it. I looked at other very good options as well.
There's Hedera, Hashgraph, HBAR.
But this had the best combination of decentralization
and low cost transactions and energy.
So that's why we decided to go here.
But yeah, if anybody has any questions,
I'd definitely love to answer them.
But yeah, shout out to venezuela my wife is venezuelan so uh i definitely have a heart for
venezuela and anything we could do there um maybe you know one of the next water stations that we
do we can we can do that we can look at partnering with you there i would love to look into the possibility of that. And Amanda,
once a theater kid, always a theater kid. So not an ex-theater kid. I'm a theater kid at heart as
well. Bando and a dancer and all that stuff. So I love the theater and I still do. So yeah,
this is my first time here. I hope I stayed within bounds.
But yeah, I'd definitely love to answer any questions
and continue to collaborate with you guys.
This looks like such an amazing platform
and space that you guys have here.
So I will definitely be coming back.
Thank you so much for sharing about it.
And please continue to drop links.
We are wrapping up. before we do that i
would like to show my cause which is water for all the centralizing water i pinned a tweet into that
it was created together with water lab we are creating solar desalination plants across the world. We have done projects in Texas, Nicaragua and Bahamas and this cause
it has five projects that are working under water technology and water
accessibility in abundance. So if you are interested in making water
abundant please check WaterLab and please check my cause water for all it's all pinned and
here in the space and yeah thank you so much everyone for joining us if you didn't have the
opportunity to see your cause or your project if you had connection issues please get back here on
the 22nd which is next monday because we will have another space. Thank you for all the
projects who are participating in this round, for our sponsors, Sandbox DAO, Public Nouns,
Shapeshift, and the Giveth Matching Pool donors. And yeah, I'll see you next week. And please
don't forget to donate. The QF closes on the 24th.
Thanks, everyone, for coming.
