Hey guys, thanks for joining. My name is Tim DeHose for today's KuKoing Fireside Chat with Conflux. I think we're just waiting on our two guests to join, so give us a few minutes.
Awesome, looks like everyone's here. Again, my name is Tim, head of social at KuPoin and today we will be going over Conflux Network, blockchain without borders and we have Dora, Dora, the Conflux BD lead with us as well as Web3Cris Global Expansion Lead. Welcome.
Hey guys, okay, heroes.
Yep, perfectly clear. Okay, sorry about too many in delay, there's some connection problem. Yeah, all good, all good. So, so let's just dump straight into it. Maybe you guys can both each take your turn to give the audience a little bit of high level back
background for you of yourselves as well as what Conflux Network is for those who are not so familiar with it. Yeah, okay, let's probably Chris can start later. We'll show log.
Yeah, absolutely. Hey guys, um, just want to check. Can you hear me?
Yep, yep, all good. Okay, cool. Yeah, super happy to be here and thanks for the invite. Yeah, so my name is Chris. I've joined Conflux back in 2019 and prior to that I was in
So my background is mechanical engineering and then I shifted in industrial engineering. But then what happened in 2018 and 2016 and 2017 was I was getting into crypto, learned about blockchain technology,
participated at the very end of the whole ICO hype back then. Lost some money, but hold on through. And since then I got, I don't know, I wouldn't say addicted, but I saw the potential of Web 3 becoming something
that we still don't know what it is, especially for cross-border payments and global travels. So I've switched my whole career, career from what I've done and joined Conflux Network in 2019 back then with
when the main event hasn't launched yet. And since then, we've built so much, so much has changed in the industry. And that was something that I could not have imagined in my previous career. So I'm happy to be at Conflux and within the Web 3 industry. And yeah.
The main tasks are yet building out the complex ecosystem, not just in China, where I am located, but also overseas because as the model says today, the complex is a blockchain without barriers where everyone can join.
So, go ahead.
Yeah, thank you Chris for the introduction. Hi guys, I'm my name is Dora and I'm the Comfort PD lead. I joined us a bit later than Christian. I have financial background and truly I graduated from 2018.
during the conference. And yeah, like I said, we are watching with the barrier pattern right now, at least I'm physically in peace in Europe. And so my engineering, it mainly focused on the PD. And yeah, that's my introduction. Thanks.
Alright, so I'd like to jump straight in and ask you guys why Conflict Network is the only regulatory compliant network in China. How do you guys manage to do that?
Yeah, questions are yeah, not directed at anyone specifically, so just feel free to jump in okay. Yeah, yeah, I can pick out this one. Yeah, so I know we know that we and we come they run first impression about us. We've been saying we are the only regular take complaint that we're gonna turn it right so
We've been always very empathizing terms I really complied and I want to make it shorter, right? But in short, we are making a complaint to point. So the first thing is a red line we call it from China government is this they should be no ICO from any company. So complied never
We never actually been known of ICO procedure, never and ever. And the second real line from China government, and it's like they should be no crypto involved. Actually, that's weird, right? When we're talking about publishing and how we can eventually, with no crypto involved,
And so we are a core space. We have a lot of solution mechanism. We call it like a sponsorship mechanism and also we have Fiat VMT solution. So, you sure we are making sure all the web to use the where they are operating the apps or whatever on Confwatch and they are not
need to use any gas which will involve eventually the crypto. So we are isolating those Chinese users while using our chain and they don't have to involve it in crypto at all. And if you have followed some of the funds, if you have followed our path like in first quarter, 2023,
We started to forge significant partnerships with a lot of big giant companies in China including China Telecom and also XCMG. China Telecom is like a third largest mobile service provider in China. We are joining the developing a new blockchain-based
And the way we expect allowing China to have like 300 million customers to secure store the private key and the inter- with the complex and XEMGs like the third largest construction, the group manufacturer and they also chose complex as newer workforce now.
NFT and the future global blockchain application. So I think that can side up proof we are actually very, you know, we are back to complying here in China and the whole reason those big giant companies in China also cooperating with us. Yeah, I hope this can answer your question.
Chris, do you have anything to add to that?
No, the door I wrapped it up pretty well and it was really precise. Nothing from my end, thanks. Yeah, alright, so I'd like to know, because I read that you guys have two spaces. Can you explain what that means and how to differentiate between the two?
Yeah, okay, yeah since I was speaking I will still catch this one too Because it actually quite evil with our previous question in terms of why I swear because it compliant trainer, right? So we started we launched a main apron 2020 when we launched our first chain we call it core chain so the core chain is based on
our unique stack structure algorithm structure. All those empty array right now is on the question. We call it first space. We know we are evolving and we had our first high-driop grid 2020 where we
So we first we transform complex consensus mechanism into a hybrid we call it P O dot L plus P O S consensus and algorithm. So I'm sharing the inception of conflats e space okay and the P O is taking mechanism. So we introduce P O S because we want to
the capital ship enhanced the network security by introducing transaction, finality and mitigating the risk of 51% attack. So like I said, we are using mainly core space right now on cornfloss China mainland,
And so, but from last year, you know, we understand that the importance of EVM compatibility and the defy ecosystem. So, introduce the second space we call it eSpace. Okay. So, this is based, we need to 100% compatibility with the EVM, which means
We offer support for Ethereum tooling, maintaining identical hex addresses, and ensuring all the API compatibility with the VPN change. So on Conflux, you space out all the developer to build seamlessly without needing to adapt and you need dev tooling. And meanwhile, users can continue to use the preferred existing
and product simply put so the hydro upgrade has an adult compost in the work with two interoperable space on the core space and e space. So while you know even these space I had different let's say distinct smart contract environment but they both
exit on the same tree graph later, not on the separate bottom. Yeah, so that's roughly, um, we distinguish two spaces. So in short, one was our core and our own structure. And another one, we call it eSpace, which is EVM company every day. Yeah.
Yeah, so I'd like to zoom in a little bit on the eSpace. Can you introduce some of the ecosystem projects on that face?
Yeah, absolutely. I can take this. So as I already mentioned, like eSpace launched a bit more than a year ago, so March of 2022. And even prior to that, since the inception of Bitcoin and Ethereum, the landscape of
has undergone significant transformation over the past six years, and especially since the DeFi summer in 2020. And honestly, we think that we're just beginning to unearth the immense potential that smart contracts actually hold. Yet the environment today
is already different from six years ago. Now every different ecosystem, not just on complex, not on any smart-cut contract, executable ecosystem requires foundational applications that serve as robust pillars, right, to foster further
innovation and to enhance the composability within the ecosystem. And these fundamental blocks from a high level paved the way for the evolution and growth of the DeFi sector that happens on top of that ecosystem and from there on
evolves further into NFTs, into Gamify, and possibly other applications that can be used. So, the founding pillars, they enable the creation of more complex, integrated, and efficient financial solutions, especially on top of high efficient
and see public blockchains such as complex network. And why we emphasize that efficient blockchains or high throughput blockchains are necessary would be just imagine calling a Uber on a blockchain network such as Bitcoin or Ethereum. It will take you half
an hour to get the cap and confirm it. So in order to bring web to applications on top of the network, you need something that is fast. And that's why we build complex from day one. But yeah, back to the point, with a launch of complex eSpace, actually the very
first app that launched a year ago on Complex Network is called Swapi and it's been running ever since. It is an AMM decks with a launch pad and recently also with a lottery ticketing system that users can participate in. And with a launch of eSpace and as mentioned
the POS staking mechanism, it is also unthinkable to not have a liquid staking mechanism nowadays, with the whole boom of LIDO. And because of that, the nuclear on-team set out to develop the first liquid staking protocol on complex to bring liquidity back to conflict
blocks network stakers, right? Because just if you are a normal staker, your CFX in this case is locked and you can't do anything with it. And what Liquid Staking does, what Nucleon does is users can stake their CFX through their protocol and get
equivalent yield bearing token that's called x_e_f_x and use it in DeFi. They can put it on another platform that I'll talk about in a second, but they can also swap it with other tokens just to make something that is theoretically illiquid to make it liquid in
and give it more use cases. In addition to these two, any healthy DeFi ecosystem that has at least one lending protocol that not only brings APY to normal holders, like just putting your money in the bank, but also brings composability to DeFi users.
And Galito is one of the landing protocols on top of complex that has been deployed and used frequently by our users. And besides that, the de-force, which is a multi-chain landing protocol, has also integrated or slashed deployed on the eSpace just to give users
There are more choices on where they want to store their assets. And maybe the choices of assets are different on both these platforms. So users can go wherever the yield is higher or whichever platform lending platform supports they are token, for example, or the assets they want to hold.
to draw more developers towards creating sophisticated DeFi solutions, oracles, play a vital role as a trusted data source that DeFi applications depend on, such as landing protocols. So the accuracy that is
provided by Oracle's, for example, the price feed of a token, a stock, a fiat, or real world data is of utmost importance. And WITNET, which is Oracle that has integrated complex way back in 2021,
is an Oracle that developers can use, but also since 2023. So this year, we are happy to announce that PI's network has also integrated eSpace for developers to obtain reliable low latency market data from institutional sources.
And with more and more depth launching on ComplexEspace, common on-chain analysis hubs need to be accessible for you as a trader, as a dejan, or just as someone who wants to be aware of the market, you need places to find
your data to see how the ecosystem is growing. And since last year, like DeFi users can find complex e-space related TVL metrics on DeFi Lama or FetchLate as LP pair information on Dex screener for people who like to be on chain more than a major
of centralized and decentralized. And yeah, honestly, with these two additions and couple of the projects we mentioned, we highly believe that more projects will find an array of analytic tools to gain exposure for themselves and to the community. Thanks.
Could you tell us a little bit more about the news with China Telecom and BSI? I don't want to overlook this because of how big of a deal this is in China.
Yeah, yeah sure let me pick up this one and get Chris some rest. Yeah, so a lot of people are actually asking about it. It seems very exciting. Looks like a combination of traditional sync car with some blockchain technology. So let me explain a bit. Okay, so actually yes and from Q1 up to Q1.
2003, so together with China Telecom, we started to announce the partnerships on the B-Sync. So B-Sync actually showed for blockchain-based SIM card. And of course, yesterday we had our first official launch event in conjunction with the
first demonstration of the B-Sync car. So our CTO, we main and co-founder successfully transferred the first we call it comemorative entity of the China Tehrer Com and the Comfo Appearance Show by pressing the button. So actually this is the mark the first own chain published of the B-Sync car. As
and then he was transformed from the Basing Car account to a high conflite research into the Basing Car account of China Telecom. So what actually the Basing Car itself, okay? So when you're trying to explain the easier way to are already used, so Basing Car is a mobile user
the application car based on the blockchain technology. So it's our parents near it's actually similar to the traditional SIM car. Okay, and the BIS car is fully compatible with the mainstream mobile terminal system such as Android's iOS, but it also boosts storage space 10 different 10 to 20 terms larger
than as we call it traditional SIM car and computing power several dozen times greater. Alongside traditional communication functions, so the B-SIM car can generate and store user-public and private key within the car.
digital signatures in a private key never leaves the car matter. So which means the car reduces the risk of users mobile terminals being targeted by let's say malware or virus software attack when we normally can be suffered while you're using computers right and the furthermore so the busy car can
can implement encrypted storage, keep recovery functions, and even integrate traditional use-shoot functions. So leveraging the hardware security advantages of the piecing car to protect those user private key. And so we call it colleagues, this is currently the safest and most convenient web-free user terminal entry.
that is a short relation of our B single actually can do much much potential. Yeah, thanks. Yeah, moving on, I'd like to know the logic behind having a pool on Ethereum. Can you explain why Conflux is a pool on Ethereum?
Yeah, I can take that. Yeah, it's first of all super happy to see that you guys did so much research to find that out that we have been doing that. I think just from a high level, we wanted to interact more with the Ethereum community as well because in addition to developing
the ecosystem on eSpace. Yeah, complex is reaching out to established DeFi entities to establish DeFi entities on Ethereum to enhance its visibility and also earn some recognition within the Ethereum DeFi community. Because as we know, that's one of the strongest DeFi communities out there
possibly even these strongest and hopefully we can somewhat welcome them to deploy on top of Conflux eSpace for enhanced composability. So besides the pool on Ethereum we've also put forth an RSA on the Uniswap forum
advocating for UNISWAP to deploy its V3 on eSpace. And currently we're also planning to push an official temperature check on this topic. And what you meant is by participating in the curve wars on Ethereum, how we actually gain exposure on Ethereum
is through our main token that's called cfx on Conflux, but on ethereum it's called e cfx which is the ethereum version of cfx which was bridged over the multi chain. And so yeah, I suppose we
want to focus on why conflict is joining the curve wars and the main points last motivations from our perspectives are one to increase CFX visibility on Ethereum to establish greater depth of CFX on Ethereum. And as mentioned, establish first
contact with Conflux and the Curf community and also possibly to collaborate on a future deployment of Curf's on-conflux network once more Asian or other tokens and global Fiat Sablecoins are utilized on Conflux Network.
So yeah, one thing that was important to us was we don't because we were looking at the curve deployments on other networks and we don't see them or we don't view them as high-d successful or how successful they can become and so we wanted to take a different approach.
approach to welcome curve to deploy on top of conflicts. And instead of simply proposing a possible multi-chain deployment on conflicts, we want to increase our liquidity and exposure on Ethereum first to get users more familiar with conflicts before proposing a deployment of course on
top of Conflux. Yeah. Yeah, so I'd like to move on and talk a little bit about the future of Conflux Network, what's on the roadmap and what are some upcoming developments that you guys are able to share with our audience here that we should be excited about.
Okay, sure, let me pick up this one. So like we're explaining before we actually since we launch our spade like you last year, so far we have to be honest, you know, we have a limited project at the East Bay right now, but we actually we're expecting to receive a lot new
project coming up very, very soon. So I can share some of the upcoming confirm those projects. So yeah, we do have several projects coming up on the path one. And those include VSwap for example, and VSwap is a bridge in a new level trading freedom. They call it like a very
first as we stand for V3 because and ETA has concentrate liquidity pull function and the different feed size so like a very unified V3 based exchange. Also there's a mold finance we launch our financial within yesterday so they are
like on the central library exchange and where they enable usage to trade cryptocurrencies, perpetuals and probably other derivatives which leverage it through the non-custorial wallet. And that we also are expecting to have rhyme finance. So rhyme finance
like they aim to enable users to maintain stablecoin RSD. And with some features like Interested Free against FX Quadro and the M2F3 in financial inclusivity and innovation. Also we are expecting by the end of
month to have a new launch pad, incubated by BlockBuster, they call FluxFire. And they are like a beauty friendly, a commonly made mining launch pad where they end to offer comprehensive support funding and resources to help uncomplicated beauty to bring the platform to
to comply with his base. And I don't know if you heard the Besattos new project also hundreds, you know, there will be definitely a multi-gen project like D4s. So D4s are already a multi-gen platform that aim to develop an integration of open-finance platform. So they offer like multi-go stable
coin and they also have a landing and a borrowing. The beside DeFi we are also trying to establish some awesome gamefire project. If you have follows, we invest in a launch, going to create a
Can fight call galaxy blade so they are like the first sign sign fire with three strategy game where users can forge a new empire and fire for the good in this then the galaxy super cool It's already launched if you guys have interest you can have a look and probably play a bit and then we also expect into
have another gamefile called Crypto Samurai which is the first game launched on the Crypto and gladiator league and they are based from the single group here in Japan. You show can play the role of the famous samurai who grew powerful generals and the plumber resources. Yeah that's
sure that's so far in short term we expect to receive this new cool project. Yeah thanks. Yeah so we have some time for maybe two audience questions. First up here we have Jolly. Please unmute yourself. Go ahead.
Okay, if not, let me move on to our next audience. Give us a few seconds. Would it be possible for me to share one of the things that's happening right now in one of our initiatives that we're doing?
Yeah, for sure. Go ahead. Yeah, I mean, yeah, now then, then you can look for the second question asker. So one thing that has always been important for complex network to be part of the Web 3.
ecosystem and push adoption to the next level is we've always been doing workshops or educational programs all over the world and we're very happy to share one of our latest
We're happy to share one of our latest workshops that we're planning in Africa right now, but essentially everyone can change to learn how to develop smart contracts from 0 to 1. So I just wanted to share some
a quick tweet of this so anyone who's interested is welcome to join the whole event. It's starting this week I believe so you can see a register and yeah begin from zero so you don't need any knowledge in advance and you can learn how
to develop smart contracts or how to interact with DAPs on a more basic level, on a more high level way. So yeah, I've just shared it and I'll share it in here as well.
Awesome. Okay, so I think we have another audience member here a spot. Go ahead. Yeah, am I already booked? Yes. All right. Thank you for bringing me up to ask my question. So my question is, can you please discuss plans of
I'll go first. So if I understand correctly, you're asking whether there are
projects on top of conflicts or decentralized applications that enable like the river that is changing trading or futures trading. Is that what you meant? Yes, I believe so.
Oh, okay, okay. Yes, so I think Dora actually talked about it as well. There's one project called Mold Finance and they are going to bring yet the Riverdale Straitings, their futures trading onto Conflux East Base so you can actually enjoy this in a decentralized way.
on a high performance network. So yeah, within one of the shared tweets, it's trying us in here where the picture says DeFi Summer, in there you can actually, you can open that link and actually see or read more about
the different projects of different ecosystem verticals that are being filled out by projects that we currently know of or have seen presents online. So feel free to check out that article to discover more ecosystem projects on top of Conflux. Hope that answers your question.
Awesome and guys unfortunately we run out of time Chris store I'd like to give you guys sort of your final thoughts or where where our audience can find more information about you guys or anything else like to announce before we wrap things up Yeah, thanks first for your awesome Holstein and
This is actually not much out of my end. I just want to simplify that so we are launching our LearnSwan course with Kukoi where you can have access. I think Chris mentioned it already. And for those probably Web3 Builders, we actually range just about Confless in the future. And we do have, you can follow our official account or our
account too, but since being a layer one public bubble and you know, but we do have our own grant and you can have more info on our website. We have different grants for different type of application if you do want to join our chain and yeah, that's thanks everyone for joining us today.
Thank you, Dora Chris. Yeah, so Dora summed it up perfectly. Like first place to learn would that be definitely through the learn and earn that we've done in collaboration with Kucoin. And then
follow Dora and myself on Twitter for the latest information on the ecosystem and also follow our official Twitter account. And yeah, if you guys have any questions, you can always DM us on Twitter.
or feel free to join our communities on Discord, Telegram, to get the latest information and the latest happenings to join a community with like-minded people to see what's happening and what's the
Yep, thank you. Thank you guys. See you guys next time. Bye bye
