Thank you. you Sorry, I couldn't get that music to turn off.
I don't know how to speak Spanish.
That's all I got, actually.
How are your new AirPods treating you en espaรฑol?
They're good. They're over there. You don't even have them on. Not at the moment, D. Say, how are your new AirPods treating you en espaรฑol? Um, they're good. They're over there.
Oh, you don't even have them on?
Trying to arrange this instrumental.
Jules has a new track, a couple new tracks that he has been working on tonight
that I think he's gonna, what do you say, doodle or noodle over?
or doodle? I don't know what's right.
Noodling, doodling. Is it the same thing?
Alright, good. I always say the wrong thing.
What is up to deny? I think it's denaya hold on one second
hey jp hey jody what's up fabs and jody b hey guys hey uh is it how do you say your name is it
is it denaya denaya hello how are you i'm good how are you i'm good i'm good good good to see you
and i was like let me go check it out and see what care is doing because the record that you
played with you now mind you i don't know if you heard it but literally that was one take
oh that's right we met in rocky space or other night. Yeah, I was listener at that time. Yeah, I recorded myself playing the guitar and singing at the same time. One take.
I don't know how to record myself there there are ways you're supposed to like record yourself
singing and then record yourself playing to a metronome which I don't know how to do and then
you're supposed to like get the stems and send them to people that know how to put music together
which would be Jules. Gotcha. Yeah but Jules works the magic on it I had sent that song over to him
and he picked I sent him three recordings and he picked the best one and then he works the
magic on i don't know what he did to it but he made me sound really great so what you heard is
um his uh i don't know what you want to call it he washed it he cleaned it up for me i washed it
the only thing i wish i didn't have to use i used an ai stem separator on it just because i had to
separate your guitar from the vocals just because it was
like it just you it's you you sound
well thanks you made me sound better
that's what I'm trying to say
he made my voice sound really good
whatever that separator thing is
but yeah thank you I appreciate that. You are so very welcome. So what's up with you? Are you an artist?
Create music? Sing? I do poetry. I sing. I've been doing more poetry than singing lately,
but I also have a radio show as well. yeah oh a radio show that's exciting yeah i'm
always looking to promote amazing talent that's awesome so like when you say radio are you talking
about like actual radio or are you talking about like a space that you host as a radio show
no actual internet radio oh no shit that's awesome there's an app and everything. We have an app. We're looking to do a building within 2027.
Do you have any information that you can link somewhere so we can find you?
I'd like to listen to it.
I'll send it to you right now.
Put in the purple pill, I would say, or the Nassar, both.
The purple pill tends to live longer.
All right, well, we are waiting for Mella B.
John, I love your new PFP.
I know you've had it up for like a week or so, but it's interesting to see you as a person, right? Not as a dog. But it's very colorful and I like it. I see people sporting like these 80s looking PFPs lately and it makes me kind of want one. And Rachel has the witch, which I love. Like I would, oh man, I want some Halloween shit. It'd be so dope.
Get yourself a bag of weed.
Free tweet the room. Tag three friends.
I'll give away a $5 bag of weed. And anybody who doesn't have weed on Solana, go ahead and send me your Soladdy.
I'll send you a little 420 bag, you know, for the culture.
Hope you guys are doing good.
I got hired to be on the weed team on like May 1st.
And so now I'm controlling 12 accounts with like 1.2 million followers.
We gave away 12 grand last time I went to NFT NYC.
I'm like a weed Santa Claus.
I just go around and give people a meme.
I need a little bit more information.
What does that mean when you say you're on the weed team?
What does that mean when you say you're on the weed team?
So there's a weed meme coin that launched a year ago in July 2024.
And 40% of the supply is for the community rewards and burning.
It's only a 420 million supply. And we do shows on Friday, 420 to 520.
We're growing with this big community now uh the green pill collective and uh the team doubled in size like on may 1st so
when i joined we were at like 240k market cap we're at like 640 right now so it's looking good i'm
trying to get a you know 1 5 10 15 and, 10, 15, and then 20 million market cap.
And at 20 million market cap, I've got a hundred grand worth of prizes and stuff we're giving away to all the people who've been memeing for weed and supporting us.
I'll send you 420 weed. And if you hold that in your wallet and then make memes, I can give you credit for engagement.
You know, give me a reason to send you some weed.
Give me a reason to send you some weed.
Guys, you heard it here and dropped the mic.
And he will send you weed.
It's a music video, whatever.
Yeah, that's really cool, man.
I'm happy to hear that you're doing so well.
That's exciting. Yeah. I mean, I'm actually, you know, getting paid to do the job I wanted to do.
This is pretty cool. I mean, I'm on year four. I figured I'd get paid eventually.
Yeah, but it's great. I mean, I'm really enjoying, you know enjoying what I'm doing. And now that I have 12 accounts, I really can't be everywhere.
Yeah, 12 accounts, that's a lot. That is a lot of accounts.
The lead account has 440,000 followers.
Oh, wow. That's amazing. It's a lot. I can get it on any stage I want, pretty much.
Sounds like it. Very cool, man. Very cool.
Yeah, so, but yeah, seriously, any weed memes down in the comments, I'll put that into a competition.
The best one will get five bucks in weed.
But yeah, seriously, everyone, send me that soul.
That doesn't have any weed in it.
I'll at least hook you up with 420.
Throw you guys on that airdrop list.
And yeah, hopefully we'll have some, uh,
some more collabs and some cool songs coming soon too.
So then I can come and share them.
Now what happens, what happens if you don't have, you said a soul Addy,
I'm assuming that means like a salon address wallet or something.
So what if you don't have that?
If you don't have a salon address, you have two options.
You can download a phantom wallet and I can walk you through it.
Or I could just create a wallet in my wallet and then hold your weed there until you're comfortable with your own thing.
I don't want to rush you into getting a wallet.
I want you to do it safely.
But yeah, I can give you a link for a phantom wallet or you can go right to the App Store and download it it's got a little ghost on it I think that's one of
the easier wallets to use magic Eden wallet which might have airdrop
benefits later there's a soul for a wallet there's a bunch of options but I
think phantom is probably your best bet start with gotcha I have a wallet I
don't remember what it's called don't know how to access it pretty sure my husband does because he's the one that created it for me
I don't think it's soul. I think it's like something else
But alright or something like that, right?
Another wallet you could even like import that wallet into a
Phantom wallet and it'll just add on the soul
Which is kind of cool. Gotcha. You can always
hit me up in the DMs or talk to me and
I can help you out. Yeah, for sure.
I like free weed. That sounds great.
Hey, what is up? Real slim.
Slim the boss. How's it going, man?
Can't hear you if you're talking.
Coming up to say hi and ready to sing Chasing Cars whenever you're ready.
Oh, gosh. Yeah. coming up to say hi and ready to sing case and cars whenever you're ready oh gosh
yeah i might have to find a different range for that song i don't really like where it's sitting
it's weird i think my voice sounds weird on it it's a weird thing
i was happy to learn it and perform it for you quickly that one day. That was awesome. Yeah.
Well, hey, guys, listen real quick.
I see that the space is starting to fill up a little bit.
We've got a couple of new people up here on stage.
I want to say hello, everyone.
Thank you for joining Drop the Mic with me and Jules.
We're still waiting for Mella B to get in here.
I'm not sure what's happening, but I did send her a DM,
so we're going to hold up for her.
And what I'm going to do right now is I'm going to run a track real quick.
If you guys could, please, repost the space.
That would be much appreciated.
Send it in the DMs, anybody you think would want to join us.
And, yeah, we're going to do that, and then we're going gonna get to it. Sunrise, sippin' away in the daylight All of its charm as a white light
Call you, it's great, make it seem so good
Till he bang bang bang bang, knockin' at your door
Bang bang bang bang, tryna start a war
Like a madman screamin', seen it all before
Know that you've been one
If you see him, come and tell him nah-ah
Ring a ding ding, he a monster
Get your pistol at the holster
A liar, a cheater, a runner, check
So don't say yes, say nah-uh
Ring a ding ding, he a monster
Get your pistol at the holster
A liar, a cheater, a runner, check
So don't say yes, say nah No, no, no, no, no, no Lay low, he'll have you hanging on hot hoes
Running on top of a tightrope
Just walk away like you know you should
What's up what's up what's up
The music did stop right it wasn't my imagination
You're right I thought my thing
Hey Cara Here we go again You're right. I thought my thing went out. No, just checking.
Yeah, it disconnected me and kicked me out.
Things are acting funky, huh, sis?
I'm wondering if it happens when you go into the DMs
because that's what I was doing. I was in the DMs
sending out invitations to the space.
Pretty sure it's kind of...
Pretty sure I'm going to lose my
shit if this keeps happening.
Let's hold a pair of shit.
I'm going to lose my shit.
Oh, I even hosted a test space earlier.
How long was that, Jules?
It was like an hour at least.
You know, sis, just another day doing us in this beautiful space of
open mic drop the mic x music space you know it's all love so we gotta come show y'all love
as well as always forever and always, you know? Well, I appreciate that very much, man.
Y'all know how we do, Cara.
We're back-to-back rolling it.
We ain't here getting it in, sharing it.
You know, let's get it here.
Let's get some more people in here, y'all, for Cara and my man Jules.
We're going to get it in tonight for sure.
Yeah, guys, please repost the space because obviously I can't send any more DMs.
Otherwise, it's going to crash.
So if y'all can help me out, I'd appreciate it.
Hi, this is tech support.
I just wanted to let you know, I think you have Mella coming to co-host.
But if you need another co-host, co-hosts actually help the stability of the space.
So I volunteer as temporary tribute. Oh, thank you. the space, so our volunteer is temporary tribute.
Your volunteer is temporary tribute.
May the odds ever be in your favor.
Sorry, Jules had his mic open,
so I was waiting for him to talk.
I didn't want to talk over him.
Well, I'm testing out these new fucking poods I got here.
If the sound effects still come through.
Is that Canadian for AirPods?
I know, I said, what does that mean?
Thank you for asking, because I was going to ask
I thought you said the mood.
Can you still hear the Jeopardy music?
No, you can't play that with the AirPods on.
You know you've got to be on wide spectrum.
You're not new. Don't act new.
No, it works when I wear a pair of
corded headphones. Honestly, those are the best for
spaces. It's like the original Apple headphones
with a cord. They really are.
But I grew a fucking gnarly beard out
and that fucking microphone gets tucked into the beard
and then you can't hear me talk anymore.
Maybe you should tame the beard jewels.
Winter's coming, you know?
Yeah, it sounds like static.
You'll lose a lot of heat in the neck, you know?
I have a question real quick before we all bombard Jules with information and words.
What is the beard situation?
Like, how does this work?
Like, do you shampoo it do
you have beard oil i gotta shampoo it for sure but my beard is is pretty wild yeah it's pretty
wild yeah it goes like a go team are we talking zz top wild or what are we talking about here
yeah what are we talking about even zz top i find has like a fine thin beard that hangs like long and kind of thin like my
beard is fucking it's it's pretty gnarly it's like it's like comical how fucking fat and thick
like grizzly adams grizzly adams wild or is it like santa wild yeah depending on the santa
depiction for sure yeah it could be it's not white yet. No, no, no. I understand. But yeah, no, it's like, you know, like, you know, like, I always joke about the episode
Like, when I let my, if I let my beard go for about, like, six, seven months, it's, like,
down past my collarbones.
And it's, like, but it gets, like, really thick and fucking fat.
So, you know the episode of Family Guy when he gets, like, a pet, he has, like, a pet
breast, like, nesting in his beard.
Like, that's what I imagine my beard like when it
gets. That's you? Yeah, you could feed a family of four with all the crumbs in your beard.
Oh my God, Jules. There's like birds nesting in it. Yeah, it gets pretty big.
So that's not right now though. That's coming? No, it's like, it's maybe halfway. It's my,
way it's my like i when i stand and look at the mirror i can't see my adam's apple anymore but
when I stand and look at the mirror, I can't see my Adam's apple anymore.
so it's not tame you don't have a tame you don't like you don't comb it or it's not it's not shaped
or anything okay interesting i have to say so i saw the guy today i went to subway for lunch
and there was this guy there and his beard like he had it shaved like he obviously went to the
barber but it was shaved like so sharp his eyebrows were like perfectly done to me i'm like
okay you got a beard but you still look feminine like you went to a salon and had this dude beauty
your fucking face up so you look perfect as shit like to me it's not super masculine when dudes
you have to grow a beard like the rough way, like dread.
My dad used to shave his, he had the beard and mustache and he used to shave it.
Like if you look at him upside down, it was an upside down heart.
And I was like, dad, you're so fricking cheesy.
My dad was so cheesy with the beard and the massage.
This is, you know, honestly, I don't, I've had like maybe three in my life.
I really don't let them grow that often just because I find it fucking itchy and to be a nuisance.
But this one just happens to be going.
So I figured I might as well let it go for, well, until it really, it makes me insane.
Because one day I'll just wake up, it'll be itching the hell out of me when I wake up in the morning and I'll just shave it off.
That's just kind of how it goes.
Yeah, I was going to say, like, how do you, I'm sorry, guys, I'm still really curious.
How do you live with that on your face every day?
Yeah. Like I said, because as soon as it bugs me, I'll get rid of it. I'm not a dude who's
attached to the growth of the beard. I'm trying to be like, you know what I mean? I just happen
to let it go. And it's like, now I have a beard. So I'll let it go until it annoys me. But I'm not
like a guy who's like, oh. Have you ever had a girlfriend that shaved it off?
Have you ever had a girlfriend or your wife?
Have they ever really wanted to shave it off?
It's just weird having a big butt in front of your lips.
I do cut the front of my stash because I don't like food or drink in my mustache.
The way I interpreted that question, though, was...
Sorry, so that's the one part I tame, is my upper lip so I can drink a beverage.
So you don't filter it like a baleen whale.
The front side is tame, but the back side is not.
Just deal with the front side.
I'm going to end this soon.
About four hours at a time.
You do with that long hair.
Do you sleep on your back?
Do you suffocate if you sleep on your back? It's a beard. It's hair. How do you do with that long hair? No, I mean, like, do you sleep on your back? Like, do you suffocate if you sleep on your side?
How do you sleep with your hair?
What are you talking about?
But you have so much of it, and it's on your face.
But you have far more hair on your head to do it than I have on your face.
Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait.
Wait, everyone, let him answer.
Wait, so how do you sleep?
He's suffocating at night, guys.
I'm worried for your safety.
Okay, so we've talked about my beard for five fucking minutes now.
Bleeding beard. The way I
questioning is, Kara wants to know, how do you
live with yourself, Jules?
That's what I keep hearing.
I do. Beards are fascinating.
I don't know how people survive with that shit on their
face. It's so big and long.
Your husband's half black, so does he
grow much of a beard or no?
No, he cannot't even grow.
He cannot grow facial hair on the side of his face.
He can only grow it on his chin and his mustache.
Yeah, he's got a baby face.
Well, I mean, that's nothing to be upset about, though, either when you're in your 40s.
That is so funny, though.
Do you remember the mustache that they would, my uncle would turn his mustache up and it would curl like the old school.
I really don't like that.
There's a guy that I work with at Bates Motel. Definitely a rock climber.
that going on. Mella, I'm bringing you up, girl.
Mella got lost on her way to space,
on a track recently with Mr. Darius and I Day Could Feel.
So it's Mr. Darius and I Day Could Feel featuring Tricky Buddha.
I gave him four little voice clips and they used three out of four in the song.
The other one they didn't use was just like, you know, a 30 second bong rip.
I was thinking, you know, if they wanted to start it off like that Sublime song, the bong rip, they could, you know.
But they didn't use that one, though.
But it turned out really good.
I'll put it in the comments.
Well, guys, I'd like to welcome Mella to the space. Mella, you're missing a really intense conversation,
very informational conversation about the state of Jules' beard.
Because he's got a really big beard, apparently,
and I'm just wondering how he doesn't suffocate at night when he sleeps.
Hi, I'm so good now that I'm finally here.
That's okay. No worries. Awesome. I'm finally here. Sorry, I'm late. That's okay.
I appreciate the patience.
You guys probably weren't waiting for me at all.
Yeah, I was waiting for you.
I was stalling with the conversation that was completely centered on Jules' beard for the past seven minutes.
So, like, how many inches are we talking?
Three inches is enough for me jules um we're still asking you questions mellow would like to know more information about your beard
we're back on the beard yeah um no it's not it's not even that it's not it's definitely not that
long right now it just it got to the point where it was no longer scruff and i have a beard now you know what i mean like it's not like i'm not suffocating i don't know what we're talking
about here you have hair on your head you sleep with right like it's not that much in i put my
hair up in a top knot when i sleep because i will suffocate because i have a lot of hair and it's
thick yes and you have it on your face you can't tie it up it's what i'm saying it's like the
warmer a beard is like a face warmer in the winter time is what i would always think yeah And you have it on your face. You can't tie it up. That's what I'm saying. It's like the warmer.
A beard is like a face warmer in the wintertime is what I would always say.
I mean, he was saying it's like really big and thick and unruly.
You need to post a picture.
You need to get him to post a picture of his beard.
Not even talking about it.
There's supposed to be wind blockers.
I'm pretty sure that's what they're natural wind blockers.
So when there's frozen air blowing. It's wintertime in Canada.
You lose a lot of heat in the neck, you know?
I would have a beard in winter.
I mean, look, I'm just really curious because I can't grow hair on my face like that.
So I'm just curious what your life is like with this giant beard.
That's all. You know? It's almost like built built-in makeup that's what i think of a beard
it's just like you don't even have to put makeup on your face you can just grow out a beard
and it's like suddenly you look i don't know i like i like a good beard what can i say
does makeup prevent you from taking right hooks to the face?
It's not a cushion. You don't have a cushion.
Instead of only growing on the bottom,
it really is like a little patch where it doesn't grow,
and then it grows everywhere else
like all the way up the cheekbone to the eye like if I let it go it's crazy that's hilarious yeah
I like a good beard too I'm not gonna lie I like a beard that's like tamed though like like the man
takes care of it and you know like brushes it out and shit and I don't know fucking what are
they called it's like uh like like manscaped or yeah like prop it like something like yeah like it's shape or some shit i don't know
yeah yeah so and then i'm wondering like and then i'm gonna drop the beard thing okay so like you
know how like like when you go you know when you go to sleep and you have hair to a salon
no but you get a guy to fucking lie no no, no. No, because you can keep it up yourself, you know?
I'm not saying, like, go do some weird shit.
But if you have a fucking, like, a $30 taper fade on your beard, you might be a whole bunch of people.
I mean, look, I think that looks cool.
You need a good woman to trim it for her.
Do you get, like, beard, like, bedhead on your beard?
Yeah, I'm just fucking around, though.
Like, honestly, I just, I've let it go.
Like, it's probably, like, it's going to itch me, like, and probably in the next couple of weeks, it's going to make me itchy, and I'm going to shave it off.
Like, it's really not a big deal.
And then, look, guys, he's going to look just like his PFP. If you look at him he's pretty clean shaven maybe a little bit of stubble yeah i might have
had some stubble in that yeah but it grows it grows quickly like six months and it touches my
collarbones for sure wow yeah see i have so many questions i'm gonna stop though guys welcome to
drop the mic we do this every thursday at 8 p.m. EST. Me and Jules, we got Mella B with us tonight.
And guess what? She has a new single that is dropping tonight at midnight.
And the name of the song just literally flew out of my head. Mella, why don't you talk about it?
Yeah, sure. Yeah, so Silly Games is coming out at midnight.
Yeah, so Silly Games is coming out at midnight.
Low key, I'm super excited and super nervous at the same time, as usual, on release day.
But yeah, I'm excited to finally have this one out in the world.
It's been written for a long time, finally recorded it with a band.
Everything you hear on the track is live recorded
at the studio, analog style, the way your grandparents used to make music. And pretty
proud of that. Yeah. I'm stoked. Thanks for having me. That's amazing. Yeah. Thank you so much for
being here. I love it when you co-host.
And this actually worked out perfectly that the drop was tonight.
So why don't we kick off this space?
I'm sure Jules probably doesn't want to talk about his beard anymore, guys.
So we're going to move on.
I'll actually just โ I'll probably delete it because I'm feeling cute.
So maybe I'll delete it again after.
You took a picture? No, no this isn't this isn't right now this is just a picture of my beard when
it's pretty gnarly did you post it yeah did you put it up I put it in the purple it's in the purple
it's in the pill all right hold on hold on we're gonna go look at this real quick and then we're
gonna let Mela kick us off with a song. Yeah.
Scrolling, scrolling, scrolling.
This is the picture where you said you're, you know, high.
But, but yeah, that's, yeah.
I definitely don't like trim it or fade it or do anything fucking fancy to it. I just let it rip. That is cool. You keep it well-groomed. Actually, that's, yeah. I definitely don't like trim it or fade it or do anything fucking fancy to it.
You keep it well-groomed.
Have you ever grown it so long that you could braid it?
That's about as long as it's gotten, and then it gets too much.
That's a really well-groomed, nice beard.
So are you saying it looks like this right now?
Because you said it's pretty gnarly
So I'm picturing that you look like a wild mountain man
It's a couple inches shorter
It's three inches right now at least though
Oh three inches that's enough for me perfect
You look like a partial mountain man perfect
Oh, you posted it in the fucking nest.
I didn't. Who put it in there?
I don't know. There was an alien that came by
and they said you were talking about beards
Karen knows all about ghosts.
I sure do. I sure do. Thank you, Kev.
All right, Mella, why don't we start the space off with some music?
We can do a little host round. We'll let you kick it off.
Okay. I'm down. Um, okay. Take your shoes off, hang your coat, stay a while
Baby, it's cold out there
We could play you crock and know you always win
It's okay I love that smile I'll always stare
Promise me you'll never leave
But I want to see it, I want you to cry
So I know that you love me
So I know that you care, want you to fight when you get angry.
So I know that your heart is still there
I've been hurt, I've been wronged
I've played along to those silly games
On the surface it seems so perfect Until it's too late
Too late Maybe we could say the things we seem to
You and me, we are a team and this year ain't a child's play
I know that you say it, but
I wanna see it, but I want to see it.
I want you to cry, so I know that you love me.
I want you to hurt, so I know that you
that your heart is still there
So I know that your heart is still there.
Wow. Mello, that was beautiful.
That was the perfect way to start off the space.
and it's coming out on all platforms at midnight.
That was beautiful all right I was leaving space in case anyone wanted to say anything Jules what
are you doing over there you wanna you want to do something for us anything
hello Jules did your beard suffocate you yeah did you get suffocated over there you okay I guess I guess okay I'm trying
to figure out what to play if I want to do this song but I guess I'll do it
anyway okay I haven't done this in a while guys so it sucks. I'm sorry bear with me
I want to hold the head inside you
I want to take a breath that's true
Take a breath that's true
I look to you and I see nothing
I look to you and I see the truth You live your life, you go in shadows
You come apart and you go black
And it's not there There Fade
Fade I think it's strange you'll never know. guitar solo Straight light comes on slowly Strange is hard without a doubt You put your hands into your head And then you smile cover your heart Speak into you
I think it's great you'll never know
Take into you Strange you'll never know
Fade into you To you I think it's strange
You'll never know you never knew thanks guys
if I had oh you know what
I did have a lighter here
I was going to say if I had a lighter in front of me
I would have been like nobody would have been
able to see it I'm doing it as we
speak you know the lighter sway
I used to love to run that with my lighter
yeah cool thank you Sway that was sick. Oh yes! I used to love doing that with my lighter. Yeah, cool. Thank you.
Kids these days, Mella use their flashlights. Yeah, their phones. Yeah. Good call.
It's just a sea of phones. It's crazy. Yeah, you know. But that's the times. Yeah, not like it used
to be. All right, Mr. Saxxy, I'm assuming that you're doing something with your saxophone. How do you play that saxophone with that beard?
I'm going to try to do something with my saxophone here. Yeah, I've just been making, well, trying to make some new instrumentals this week. This one's more of a loop at this point, but that's fine.
Um, yeah, I'm just gonna noodle, as it were, I suppose.
I know some saxos sound good on this, but we'll see what happens.
Yeah, it sounds good. Oh, my. . Oh, my. Thank you. Oh, see, I should have changed the reason for that. I don't even know what I'm doing here. Oh
My god you guys here that I was so dope I can't find what I want to play here is this a hold on I got the thing that's tools that's tools right there that's exactly what he's doing
except he's got a massive beard I don't know how he plays with that thing that
was amazing let me try something cuz I that was still with the that was with
the synthetic reed still and I just cuz when I hit those high notes so that's
the thing when I like when I go into those transitions
into the higher octave there,
for some reason that synthetic one pinches off.
But I just soaked this one for a minute.
So I just want to see what the difference is
between that synthetic reed and this now cane reed.
Hopefully I don't just totally fucking botch this,
So I'll try. Kane, read. Hopefully I don't just totally fucking botch this, but hang on a sec. Let's try it. See, it's way different when you, and like I'm just like putting the effort into the
high notes, but I'm surprised at like how much when you try to hit those notes on the that's way different much world of difference wow okay remember earlier when we talked and i
said i couldn't tell the difference i could definitely tell the difference this time
yeah yeah and i'm just screaming yeah just to like to see but yeah no and like i was having fun practicing with this
synthetic creed but yeah it was uh that wooden one is better i'm gonna go that high range for sure
yeah whatever that that uh thicker one is that you got today it sounds a lot better and like the
one you rev it and you bend the notes and you go high into the higher octave yeah it's picking it's
it's gonna it's gonna take some more it's gonna take some more practice again but yeah it's
definitely it's definitely the weight of the read for sure but yeah yeah no it sounds great
inspiring me to play more sax and get better beats i am so happy that you feel inspired to
play the saxophone and make beats and do all the things right and go out and buy the roots I'm very excited about this and I'm trying to not be too
much so yay awesome I loved it I really did it was really cool
yeah that was amazing that was amazing bro you you have like really really truly
inspired me to the next level again, bro. You always you always have anyway, but I play a play the ewe
And you just really like Rob

here i'm definitely just be chilling out dropping down the speaker section the listening section so everybody else can have a chance to speak but yeah so the poem is called reality
hues is one of the poems one of my favorite poems my mom uh created last minute so it's
called reality hues my color doesn't wash up no tints no d no rents. Judge me for my interior shade. Colors of life, shades of emotion.
Red for the colors we bleed.
Green for the jealousy that corrupts,
Come to the shore to be baptized.
My color doesn't wash off.
My skin is just a fleshy shell.
Take me beyond the rainbow.
Wash me in that cosmic well.
Shades of dreams, thoughts, and wishes.
Prayers draped in reality hues.

Up next, I feel like, okay, pain waves.
I do have you in the queue.
Are you raising your hand to say something, or are you just trying to get, like, in the lineup?
Trying to get in the lineup?
Yeah, just in the lineup.
I don't know if I want to go after rob and slam yes you do they're so upbeat and i'm so not but we'll do it anyway
you putting yourself in the where do you go in the washroom i am in the line man i had to walk
outside it was hot in here somebody was doing the dryer and it got a little steamy.
So we're going to work with it.
All that steam's got to be good for the vocal cords.
All right. We're ready for you.
I waited till I saw the sun I don't know why I didn't come
I left you by the house of fun I don't know why I fly away. Instead of kneeling in the sand,
catching teardrops in my hand, my heart is drenched in wine
But you'll be on my mind forever
Out across the endless sea I would die in ecstasy
But I'll be a bag of bones Driving down the road alone my heart is drenched in wine
Forever Something has to make you run
Don't know why I didn't come
I feel as empty as a drum
I don't know know I didn't come
Bing-bong Oh That was amazing John your vocals girl. Oh my god. I love that
I never heard your falsetto for gin like your voice so dynamic. Oh, no, I got it. I never heard your falsetto before, Jen. Like, your voice is so dynamic.
Oh no, I got two ums. Yes.
I'm gonna hold my device to my head and I was like,
No, I really like this song!
And then I had to cut out and then I came back and then I cut out again. I mean, that's my favorite song. That was so freaking good.
So good. What were you saying, Mella?
Oh, I was just goo-goo-gogging over her beautiful voice. Jen, you're just so good.
I haven't heard that before.
Yeah, I don't know if that's like a legit thing or if I just came up with that right now.
We're going to go with it.
gonna go with it i'm gonna tell you what you just reminded me malo real quick so the danger noodle
I'm going to tell you what.
You just reminded me, Mella, real quick.
um i didn't know until a few days ago when i did the promo that danger noodle is actually
a name for a snake i thought you made that up i thought you made that up a snake i can't remember i don't think it's like a type of snake i think
it's just like a name that people like it's like a silly name for snakes for all snakes
i legitimately can't remember how we got on to the danger noodle thing but yeah it became a thing
and it was short-lived but maybe it'll come back in the near future. Who knows? Yeah, it's coming back now because I like the danger noodle.
Fun fact, another silly name for snakes, also along with danger noodle, is nope rope.
Yeah, I've heard that one.
So I thought you made up danger noodle, and I was like, oh, that's a really clever name
And then I Googled it, and I was like, it's a thing. Okay really clever name for a snake look at her and then I googled it and I was like it's a thing okay I didn't know so another fun fact about
it's not really about snakes it's kind of just well it's relevant so Dakota's
dad he was in an Alice Cooper tribute band for a long time and they did like
the if you guys know Alice Cooper it's like pretty it's pretty obscure the the
they had right like they would bring out like spiders and snakes and like just do really gross
stuff on stage um so yeah they had this massive I don't know what kind of snake it was but his band
had this massive snake that they would bring on tour and there was some guy backstage that would
like run out onto the stage and put it
around dakota's dad's neck while he was playing guitar and he hated it like he it was just funny
because like he hated every second of it he did not want to do it but it was just part of the act
so every every time he played a show he's just like fuck i gotta deal with this fucking snake
on my neck but um he told me this story about how they brought, they were staying in like, really like, you know, like dingy hotels and stuff like that.
Like they were on the road living in a bus. And, um, I guess they went to this one hotel
and the snake got out of its little cage and it got lost in the hotel for like a week.
got lost in the hotel for like a week and the the eventually the hotel manager found him like
wrapped up in like a in like a storage closet or something he must have went through the vent
system and like ended up in some storage closet and the owner found the snake and called the band
up and said hey i found your massive snake in my storage closet so So they got him back. Oh my God. But did the owner scream like a girl
when he found it? I don't know if he'll ever admit to it, but I would assume so.
I would have screamed like a girl. I'm not going to lie. Yeah. If I found a massive snake in my
closet, I would have screamed like a girl. There would have been a carrot shaped hole in the wall.
I'm out. Well, and imagine if you were another guest in this hotel and you're just like sitting
in the bathroom and this big snake just like, I don't know. I highly doubt that this snake went
from point A to point B. There was probably some stops along the way, so I wonder how many people got freaked out.
That's a great question. I guess we'll never know, but imagining it, yeah, it's freaky.
It's really freaky. What kind of a snake was it, do you know?
Hold on. Dakota, what kind of snake did your dad have in his band?
What kind of, like, it was a big snake, right?
Do you remember what they're called?
I was wondering if it was a boa constrictor.
Oh my god, those things are huge.
They like squeak you to death.
That's a great name. name yeah he was 14 feet long
wait how did he play guitar with a 14 foot snake draped around his neck like that's what i want to
know it's dead oh hold on he's he's gonna say he's gonna tell you a story one second
so they're keep her in like a duffel bag and they'd
bring her out for 18 by alice cooper and as soon as like the song would start the bass would hit
she would like kind of push herself out of the duffel bag and it would take like the singer and
two of the roadies to pick her up because she was like a couple hundred pounds like 100 pounds or
so and the singer would walk out with her and then put them on the guitar players and stuff as they're playing they also had like tarantulas and scorpions and all that weird shit
yeah and all that weird shit for all those really really scary scary bugs yeah yeah they'd take the
tarantula out and like put it on my dad when he was like playing the song and it would just be
like crawling up his face and like going on and stuff. Did your dad get hazard pay?
Because, let me tell you.
Or at least new underwear, like an underwear allotment.
And I guess they don't want that big furry thing to curl on me.
They don't bite, but they'll throw their hair off and it irritates your skin.
I have a feeling they paid him in beer.
Because honestly, it would take a few for me to do that.
It would be a lot more than beer to have a trance.
It would take absolutely nothing.
There is nothing that you could pay me with.
I don't care what it is to get me to do anything remotely close to any of that.
Imagine, though, like you'd have to be really good at guitar to have like a tarantula crawling down your face and you just continue to fucking shred.
I'd be really on some serious natural hallucinogenics that you're able to take.
I have to say that. But yeah, that would be crazy.
Yeah, that's a hard pass.
Could you imagine if he had a giant beard like a mountain man
and it got stuck in your beard?
He did have a lot of hair.
He had long rock star hair.
So I'm sure it went into his hair and stuff.
This just keeps getting all the worse. I'm sure it got it went into his hair and stuff
I'm so sorry for the night
Yeah, I'm gonna blame you I'm gonna blame I'm gonna blame Canada Jules How do you feel about a tarantulas calling on your face and your beard? What do you think?
I don't know. I've never been in contact with a tarantula, so I don't know.
But I'm not afraid of little spiders that get on me.
We don't have large spiders in Canada, so we're pretty fortunate here, I guess.
But yeah, I don't know. I'm not afraid of spiders.
I mean, tarantulas are not little, so how do you feel about giant spiders?
I feel like one of those creepy- ass cave spiders with the super long legs
It's like a giant daddy long legs basically the size of your head
I feel like one of those might creep me out a little just because of its sheer size, but
What's happening in here?
Even grand daddy long legs. I mean it's the legs and it's like crawling on you. It's like
No, in the web. It's like, no.
It's like, you're going to tie me up in a web cocoon.
I love the nonchalance, though.
It looks like it can spin me up in a cocoon.
I don't want to fuck with it.
Yeah, we're getting ready for spooky season here.
It goes in line with Kara's gig.
I did wear my witch outfit today to the store just because i dyed my hair already and i
i'm doing a couple of things on the back end and i was like i wore my witch outfit i was like yeah
i'm early and i dyed my hair and i didn't put the gloves on your girls so my hands are black
and my nails are really black i did it on purpose but yeah it was it was one day i'm also curious
like what's the fatality rate of like people being eaten by amazon pythons and
shit like that like i think if there are a lot of people there it would be bigger like if there were
more people there there would be more fatalities i would think like there's not a lot of people there
yeah no i'm just i'm just curious like do these large snakes are they eating people you know what
i mean like that's maybe why there's not a lot of people stop you know what's crazy in 2025 we can know right now yes in your hand you can look it right
up because I don't think there's a spider out there that could actually wrap somebody up you
know what I mean but there's probably there's definitely snakes out there eating people you
know yeah like the big boic or the ones that like eat you whole like the ones that eat you and you're in in there like alive what anaconda wait wait wait wait are you serious yeah anacondas will swallow you whole
like really you died they digest you while you're living yes they can eat
cows dude oh my god yeah they can literally eat a cow crazy cows well it can't run things i wish i could unknow
for a thousand uh science how does that work you have to feed like those big snakes you have to
feed them like big so another fun fact about the band like dakota's dad's band and this big snake um they were eventually banned from every pet store
in the area because the pet stores started to catch on that they were buying bunnies because
i was just gonna say were they buying people's rabbits yeah yeah this is how i ended up with two
rats uh my my like post-college boyfriend had a giant python and one winter it just like it wouldn't
eat we it ate live feeder rats and it just wouldn't eat them and he kept putting them in
the tank and it wouldn't eat them and on like the fourth rat he was releasing them into the wild in
the winter to die and I was like no that's it get rid of the snake we're keeping the rat I'm not a
rat person but like and he did and then we bought it a second one because
it apparently needed friends i'm a penelope and clementine they lived for a long time
fuck's nice oh my god we're keeping the rat yeah it's something i would never say but i love that
i had a pet rat i just couldn't do it i had a pet rat did you he did death three times yeah i've
had cats a lot rats rats are cool because they're really smart the reason rats are
cool is because so like hamsters and guinea pigs literally don't know who the fuck you are like you
feed them all they know is you feed them they don't know who you are they don't care they're
not like sentimental creatures that are like attached to you whereas rats are more like cats
and they do like they they want to like cuddle you they love you
so it's kind of interesting i had um at my family's home we had a pet the first pet rat we had was
named peanut and she was this cute little black rat and we got her to the point that she would
hang out with my cats and my dog like she would sit on my cat's back and my cat just like knew that she
was family um because that cat was definitely catching other rodents in the house whenever
winter came around but oh yeah like they would drink we would turn on the the faucet the sink
and my cat liked to like stick his head under it and like drink from the tap and the rat
would go up and like drink from the same stream of water it was so cute tell me gary like for real
life that's adorable i'm not the biggest rat fan but i do see some you know because i want you to
see the videos and stuff like the reels and stuff on ig and facebook and there are some that are
very cute i had hamsters and you're right mellaella, they do not know who you are. I used to like putting the hamster in the, in the ball and
it would like run around the living room, like in the little hamster ball. And it's just like,
fuck you. I'm in this. Got out of the little cage. I had it in one time. I found him in all of my
stuffed animals. And then I gave him to my best friend at the time. And unfortunately he left the
hamster like in the bathroom and his cat got it. that was the end of that hamster's life so yeah it's too bad but interesting
okay well maybe we should get back to some music now the rest of y'all thank
you for us staying here and sticking through this you're gonna have nightmares
tonight I apologize sorry not sorry you know what you're getting into when you
join drop the mic we have a lot of questionable conversations so um Sierra
did you did you are you in a position to share some music with us siara and then we're gonna go
and we're gonna go at the end of the end of the queue yeah yeah so guys i have covid right now
but my voice sounds pretty like all right oh you do yeah um well if you heard me yesterday though
it sounded like this so like we're makingides. I think it'll be all right.
But let me hop in the end.
I didn't know that you had COVID.
I mean, does COVID matter anymore?
All right, let's go over to pain waves.
My reflexes are slow with my hand.
I was going to say I'm already having nightmares from what we're talking about.
You know what I'm saying?
There's a link in the comments.
I can add you in the comments that I left if you wish or I can put it in the
nest for you to play someone to play it's a new mix that I just finished I'm very proud
Oh okay so can you actually send it to me directly in the DMs and then I can run it
It'd be easier for me to pull up on my iPad if you don't mind you just want to send me send me a link in the dms and i'll pull
that up for you absolutely okay perfect yeah no worries doing multiple things at once we're all
right no worries we're all right ladies and gentlemen i'm gonna take my muse next year in a second. It's called Strong
Why don't we wait for you to get that over?
I'll pull that up. Let's go over to
Berto because Berto has been
falling off stage sporadically.
I want to make sure that he still has connection
and then we'll circle back.
Hello, Jules. Hi, Miltha. Hello. Hello, Jules.
I have a phone that's not going to be playing.
It doesn't have the wide spectrum,
so I won't be playing a guitar,
but I would love to recite a piece of poetry that I put up into the Jumbotron,
and it's the Ode to the Reporter.
A rapid race rendition that resonates.
Rapidly for risking reporters ramping rambunctious rants.
Fluidly fluctuating footage that is fascinating for fighting frigid freaks.
Fast and furious foundlings for the scoop.
Consumed with the ridiculous notions of flipping, flopping, feisty, funhouse curious crusaders
curious crusaders, constantly counting coups.
constantly counting coos.
Previously, a phony, patsy, fun-house fairy, phoned, postulating, horrific, horrifying,
not-hiding details, relaying, relaxed, relentless, retelling of discussions of desperately seeking,
understanding, untangling, unabridged, underappreciated, inhibited while performing
a feat, skipping filed feet forward to deliver, divulge information dealt with first editor,
dancing disco downtown like some Julie Brown. In turn, this tale will deliver delicious, somewhat devastating darkness.
In redistricting, dandy, deviating deals detailing deposits discovered,
my manipulation's mustard makes more movement, motivating me to totally top tomorrow's tabloid.
Dozens of discerning dudes and dudettes will read this via National Narration Nightly News, never needing to nod nuances because I don't need them.
Thank you very, very much, everyone.
Bing, bing, bing, bing, bing, bing, bing, bing, bing, bing, bing, bing, bing, bing, bing, bing, bing, bing, bing, bing, bing, bing, bing, bing, bing, bing, bing, bing, bing, bing, bing, bing, bing, bing, bing, bing, bing, bing, bing, bing, bing, bing, bing, bing, bing, bing, bing, bing, bing, bing, bing, bing, bing, bing, bing, bing, bing, bing, bing, bing, bing, bing, bing, bing, bing, binging bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing Go ahead, Kara. Oh, no, I was just going to say Berto. I thought that was great. I always really love your passion whenever it is you do anything, when you read something, when you perform.
I always love your passion, and that's what I loved about that.
Your delivery was really great.
Yeah, thank you very much.
Yeah, super appreciative.
It was the alliteration for me.
That's what I was going to say.
Yeah, it was so alliteration heavy. That's what i was gonna say yeah it was so alliteration heavy that
was impressive i love that too i'm not good at giving feedback on like the like the the spoken
word and the poems and all that kind of stuff i never i never know what to say but i enjoy it i
think i thought it was really great you want to know my honest fucking problem with the the spoken
word and this is gonna this is this is this is an insult to myself and not, I hope you don't take this personally, or anybody who does spoken word, I really hope you don't take it personally.
But for me, it's, I won't lie, like I have pretty gnarly ADHD that I don't medicate, and I have a hard time, especially if it's just on my wide spectrum, just my phone with other noises going around, like I just have a hard time catching a whole poem. And I feel bad saying it out loud, but like that's my issue is
in my brain, like trying to put together a whole poem of what, and like try to get the message,
you know what I mean? But like, anyway, yeah. So yeah, when I might feel short, when it feels
short after my, when I reacted to that too, it's's my issue it's a me thing and i i feel bad
for no don't feel bad about that jules i'm i'm the same i don't have adhd but i i have a trouble
like i hear things that i like and then it flies out of my brain right so it's relatable you're not
the only one may i comment of course yeah thank you Thank you. It's always, look, I'm always the first one to say you want to hold it in your hands and read it.
And most poets and writers will tell you that.
You know, read it from my book.
Yeah, if I read poetry, like I've got some poetry books.
And there's a link up top on object.
Thank you. Awesome. Yeah, of course. Have a great night. Yeah, different story. Yeah, you're right. And there's a link up top on Object. Thank you.
I mean, stick around if you want to share some more.
But yeah, that's very true.
It's digestible, I think, when you can actually see it.
I was going to tell you, too, I did.
I have, I was able to get his song out of the links on SoundCloud here if you want me to play PainWaves track.
Oh, I have it pulled up, but if you want to run it, go for it.
It's all you. Do your job job co-host come on do your job make yourself useful yo jules if you're on my page it's strong reimagined what's that it's the one in the
comment strong reimagined right yeah go ahead yeah go ahead. Yeah, I got it. Okay, yeah, this is Painwave's new track.
Is this, I want to know, is this you, like, is this sampled or is this you playing the keys as well?
Okay, I was just curious before we go into it.
Awesome, okay okay here we go
I used to not care enough about bad luck about that stuff no now it feels like I'm waiting to lay to reconcilia She's crying on the floor
Never got to feel these feels, I feel so real
She sold my soul for this
At five years of age, she told me I would never find my bliss
I would never find my bliss
Dancing with the lights on all night tonight
Cause I love everything about being strong
Headphones in my ears looking through the years I love everything about them being wrong
I would jump a hundred steps ahead
But the wind will pull me back again.
When I'm not sure that I want it all to stop.
Everything in every world is not just great just knowing you.
I miss the days I spend out in the sun
I miss the days I spend out in the sun
Dancing with the lights on all night tonight Cause I love everything about me Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, And I love everything, no time can be here Love
Love oh I hate that being right beside the cheer button. I should just get rid of that one.
I'm just going to get rid of that sound effect.
You know, it comes in handy sometimes,
but for the amount of times I hit it
when I mean to hit the cheering button
Anyways, that was a cool track.
And the mix was pretty good on it.
I got it pounding out of my monitors,
and it, yeah, sounds pretty good, man. I, sitting here I got a pound of my monitors and it yeah, so it's pretty good man
I like I might try to find a taste for
Like that that flavor with auto tune because like I think you're a decent singer too
So I mean, I don't know if you needed all the effect on it, but that's just that's just a preference thing on my half
But but yeah, that was cool track good job
And the next track after that was actually a secret track,
like by a band that changed their name.
I don't know if you've ever heard of Vinyl Theater,
but that's like their pre-project.
So thanks for playing that, bro.
Payne, thank you for sharing that.
It was a really good vibe.
Yeah, it was so cool um i you know i tend to always agree
with uh jules on his production uh critiques i think i want to hear i want to hear you sing uh
with less production on your voice but that's just because i i love raw vocals personally
but the the song itself very cool um really cool vibe to it. So thanks for sharing.
And you know, it's funny because like me as a producer,
like it took me, like I used to overproduce my voice so much
because I wasn't used to hearing it on a recording.
Like it took me so long to just like have my like rap voice come out raw
want to like heavily fucking you know put delay on it or like heavy reverb and like wash it out
you know what I mean like I found yeah there was definitely a period where I was overproducing my
stuff because I didn't like the sound of my voice but and I think we like struggle with that especially
if you're mixing your own voice I find. I find it's easy to overproduce
your stuff. Absolutely. It's part of the reason why I kind of gave up on self-producing. Well,
I produce the songs, but when it comes to vocals, I kind of go in, I sing my parts,
I lay it down, and then I just let the engineer do the mixing and production stuff on my voice.
And if there's anything that stands out that I'm like, hey, can you fix this?
I don't really like this kind of like reverb, whatever.
It's so, so easy to get super nitpicky about your own voice and just like keep layering stuff on it when it it really doesn't need it
because it's yours like that's what makes it cool that's what makes it unique um you know if you have
to take another take because you didn't get it out the way you wanted to that's one thing but um
i don't know i just have like such a huge appreciation for raw vocals these days i hear
my stuff and i'm like that's my voice and other people hear my
stuff they're like that's your voice you know what i mean like so it's like and that's it's
very you know subjective for yourself right so like i don't know yeah uh but yeah pain waves
man it is because i hear you and i'm like that's your that's your voice like you on your on your
recorded tracks no it's good especially like pain... No, you and your music is good.
I'm not listening to Pain Wave sing
Like, I love that raw expression that he does.
But like, you know what I mean?
That song, it's a mixed song.
Shumella, I got a question for you.
How many times have you been in the studio
I want you to tweak that vocal
Literally happened today. Ah, I want you to tweak that vocal. And the guy's like, no, it's fine. Literally happened today.
Yeah, I was literally at the studio.
And I'll go back in for, like, a second session on a vocal.
And I'm like, okay, so I want to fix this.
I go in with, like, this list of things that I want to go and retake.
And we only did, like, a couple things that I want to go and retake. And then I leave and we only did like a couple things,
That's how you know you're good girl.
After a certain point, um,
let the professional do what they're good at let them
do their job because because yeah because you're gonna critique yourself all fucking day long
because you know what you're capable of and you know what notes you can hit or what you know
what vibrato or falsetto you can do or whatever so yeah if you're gonna if you're gonna commission an
artist for a painting there has to be some lenience to the artistry involved you know what i mean from what you want
and and what the artist is going to oh absolutely yeah and that's kind of that's kind of how i
do you trust me do you trust me enough to fucking send this back you know decent because like you
know i remember even the the first one i did for for rocky rocky
was like super picky he's like bro he's like the way i record he's like this and that i'm like okay
man like whenever you're ready like just you know send me some stems whenever you're like i wasn't
like you know it took him like i don't know it was maybe like a year of us talking and chatting
and then and then he sent me that bounce track to do and he recorded it from home and it was like
in an open room and you could hear his voice bouncing off the fucking walls and it was like super saturated with just
room noise right and i did a decent job on it like the mix was okay for what i for what i had
but he was like you know he's really surprised at the end of it he was like telling me how picky he
was and this and that i'm like you know okay yeah like you know like i said whenever you're ready
but you know um less is more with mixing And that's the point that I got to.
It's like I found so many, it's so easy to overproduce shit.
Where mixing is really the art of subtraction.
It's what can you do with the EQ to cut out shit that doesn't need to be there.
That's fighting with shit that does need to be there.
So it was learning that art of reduction, really, in noise.
Oh, absolutely, dude like what was important well my my stepdad he's an audiophile right so he's he's got one of the
most insane sound systems i've ever listened to like i'm talking like 800 pound speaker cabinets
like it's ridiculous right but like he's got albums where you can hear like and i don't know
why but he's got albums that you can hear like and i don't know why but he's got albums that you
can hear like the guy breathing the guy like rubbing his finger on the string you know before
he plays a song and like to me that brings it so much more to life the actual music itself and the
artistry itself whereas yeah you've got these radio edits where it's like you can't hear them
breathing because they've cut out the like you know you know they've cut that oh that's my biggest pet peeve that's where they cut the life
out of it on the radio that's where this ai stuff is losing me too right and actually a perfect
example of how i mix my music and somebody has actually mentioned this to me before cara the
song that you just asked me to send you uh with the bringing you down hook on it if you notice i did not cut
any of my breath work out of that it's like i there's it's maybe automated down in volume a
little bit but i want the humanized factor but that's the one thing that people have pointed
out my mix they're like why don't you cut your breath oh blah blah blah blah because that's
what that you really know it's a human doing that recording yeah you try and sing and breathe like
that at the same time and keep the tempo last tempo that's a good example because i really like the mix on that hook because it's a studio
sounding mix in that hook but i definitely left my breathing in there for that reason which that's
awesome dude one of the things about leaving the breathing in is it actually um doesn't discourage
can't hear, you know, because it makes it
sound too perfect. But a lot of studio music
is like that. Yeah. Well, it also helps
vocalists that are training
So, like, if you're doing some crazy
vocal runs and stuff, it's, like,
know, like, oh, wow, she didn't
take a breath till there. that's my okay that's what
and sierra like sometimes i've heard i've heard artists like inhale but they're inhaling on the
key of the next note they're supposed to play you know they're like you know what i mean like it's
and then they and then they execute the note with the same tone. Like, it's, that's, I don't know.
To me, that's the life of the music right there,
is you can hear, like Jules was saying,
I purposely didn't edit that out because I want you to hear it.
That's the human in there.
It's like, you can tell that I didn't top it.
It's not, like, I did the whole thing in one take,
and you can tell because you can hear me breathing through it.
That's what I don't like about studio music.
It's like, okay, you did something studio music it's like okay you did something
and it's like you know maybe you're a good lyricist but i can tell that you punched that in
because you did a fucking a full 75 seconds of fucking rapping you do like 48 bars and you didn't
take a single breath about the whole thing so it's like you know i don't know there's just
certain studio stuff that i don't i'm not a i'm not a fan of i'm'm with you, bro. I'm also like an aging hater when it comes to.
we're becoming boomers. Like we're just like the new boomers of.
technically a millennial.
but when it comes to hip hop,
I'm a little staunchy just because like,
I, you know, like, you know, I'm, yeah. Dude but when it comes to hip-hop I'm a little staunchy just because like I you know like you know yeah dude I used to go I used to go to a studio that predominantly worked with
hip-hop artists and sometimes I'd go in early just to like sit in because it was my my cousin-in-law
that's the engineer there and I'd sit in and i'd listen to their their session and sometimes
i'd like sing on their track and stuff and it was a lot of fun but i always found it so fascinating
the way that they were they were recording their verses because you know it's this big like long
like this big long phrase right but i shit you not i witnessed it i watched them punch literally every single
word like every word yeah the chorus is like eight words tops yeah um and then i think sierra
had mentioned it's like weird for up-and- or like, um, like people training to sing, uh, and, and
rap. I have some students, um, like vocal students that I have to like sit down and like, we print
out the lyrics and I'm like, okay, so I think they're taking a breath here and here and here.
And my students are like, they're like 10 years old and they're like, but I can't hear them
breathing. And I'm like, it's okay that's production like i
have to explain to them like no that's that's because they've taken their breaths out of the
song and they're like what what do you mean you just have to show them you literally just have
to show them record it and take it out and then they'll be like oh i understand yeah for for hip
hop i feel like you should be like a dj should be able to just throw on the loop, you know what I mean?
And there should be no recorded track behind you.
You see everybody perform.
This is the other thing that gets me with hip-hop too, is that it should be like a performance.
Like a guitarist, a singer-songwriter would play just with their guitar and et cetera sitting down at the show or whatever, right?
But these people who are just singing over
their recorded tracks like you see it so much like that for hip-hop that drives me absolutely
nuts a dj should be able to throw on a loop with no chorus on it no nothing and you should be able
to perform your track engage with the audience and do your hip-hop thing your chorus and all that
shit just over the loop right like so like, otherwise it's like a brought you away from karaoke.
kind of killed what hip-hop really
was, and it was really just raw
expression. A DJ would get on, spin a loop,
put on and engage with the crowd.
spin that shit, and then they would just go.
Well, I will date myself yeah i will date myself and
so what you're saying is you want an artist to be able to go and do an mtv unplugged like
ll cool j did and mama said knock you out yeah i told you guys i said i i was saying this like
People are going to get sick of like the polished perfection and they're going to want the raw, like, you know, like they want the, we are now at this point where we're like, give me the imperfect stuff because I'm tired of hearing it all polished and perfect now.
It's so much more intimate.
And you know what guys, when it happens, like it's so much more intimate. And you know what, guys, when it happens?
Like, it's so much more intimate.
Don't call it a comeback.
And that's where I feel badly.
I feel a little bad for these AI, like the AI hype,
because I do think that AI will come through
and it's going to have its little phase
and people are going to use it for different things or whatever.
But really, it's just an extension of the oversaturation
that the industry did, right? It's just's just a copy paste of industry fucking music so it's like
oh dude absolutely i'm struggling with that it's like oh you know i want to be open-minded to these
people trying to express themselves through ai but i also think it's like this flash in the pan
to like oh dude absolutely like well you can see you can see it with like the echo of what ruined music
jules man you can see it with the youtube and the tiktok videos already right like
everything's just like the man went to this and went to that and did this and da da da da and
it's like the story of a movie you've already seen you know what i mean it's like that's not
what happened like it it's not it's not the same i want to be the AI advocate in the room and say, guys, AI is a skills multiplier.
No matter how you use it, it's a skills multiplier.
So, like, or a skill multiplier.
If you are a good songwriter, it'll help you be a better songwriter.
It'll help fill in, like, creativity.
It's programmed off top 40s polished music that ruined the industry to begin with.
I'm not saying that people
should use it to fully generate their tracks and stuff,
but if you are using AI to
assist you in your creation process,
go for it. If you're a good enough prompter,
It's a skills multiplier.
Use it as a tool. Brainstorm with it.
I've definitely heard anything
At that point, you're a prompter, not an artist.
Danger, if I don't hear the lyric,
it's the story of a movie
that I've already seen in one of your songs.
This next song is called Prompt Engineer Blues.
The next song is Pugs. I think the next song is called prompt engineer blues
The next song is pugs I think the next song is gonna be pugs bugs been waiting a long time what you got but repeat repeat repeat
All right, just plug the laptop in Mela great, great to see you. Love you, friend.
I was going to tell you, I was talking with a friend today about the music communities,
and we're talking about all the artists, and I was explaining,
oh, Mella, my friend Mella is hosting DTM tonight,
and Mella is like our friend that it feels like the one who we knew before she made it famous.
Like, Mella's the one that has a chance to go and be a star.
Thanks for believing in me.
Yeah, that was a hard one to say.
I have this Pearl Jam song.
I have an Alice in Chains song.
I have a Stephen Wilson song.
Hey, before you go, Pugs, real quick.
Guys, we have a lot of requests, and I had to rotate some people.
So please, please, please don't get butt hurt if you were rotating down.
Yeah, to make room for other people to be up here.
I'd like to repost his face.
Have you ever seen that meme?
Have you ever seen that meme?
It's the guy rotating the shark underwater, and it says, get rotated, idiot.
I feel like that needs to be posted in spaces.
And the shark looks so happy.
that you get rotated you know sharks like
hmm this could be interesting battery is about to die so we'll see if I finish
Buried in my shed Won't you come and save me?
Save me. I'm ready to go. I will be raised and free
I'm the dog who gets beat
Shove my nose in shit Won't you come and save me, save me Breathe in my eyes
And I'll make a little try Who tries
There'll be ways there to be
Now you're so damn sharp Be in my eyes
Can't slow them shut Cancel them, shall Jesus Christ
When was there you read my eyes
Now you're so damn sure That was not timed well.
What a great fucking Alice in Chains cover Pugs.
I was a huge Alice in Chains fan when I was a teenager, actually.
By the way, guys, Luke was actually sending me pictures of his very own pet Danger Noodle in the DMs.
How you doing, Luke? Good to see you doing great good morning there's a typhoon here so it's a good it's a good day to
sleep yeah well you're not sleeping now how have you been doing doing great it's just a bit tiring
Plus, the month's end is approaching, so there's a lot of reports to finish and stuff.
Well, I'll tell you what.
I was in rabbit space, I think it was last night, and I was kind of like, I think I fell
asleep in the space for like five or ten minutes or something.
But I literally came to, and you were singing.
because we were i was trying to we were chatting in the dm and then you were gone oh and then i
didn't respond for like 45 minutes so it's probably more than five minutes it was probably
like 45 minutes i woke up and all of a sudden new people were on stage and yeah but i woke up to
luke singing and oh my god it was incredible what
song were you singing last night the first one was punchline by aiden martin and then the second
one was tribe and i see gray i think it was the second one because that was the last one that i
heard that song was phenomenal so i love that song yeah her voice Her voice. When you fucking hit those Mariah Carey notes at the end there.
So I'm excited to hear what you have for us tonight.
All right. I stare at my reflection in the mirror
Why am I doing this to myself?
Losing my mind on a tire I nearly let the real be on the shelf
No, no, don't lose who you are
Sin is deceiving, dreaming is believing
But tears don't mean you're losing
Just be true to who you are To whom I am Brushing my hair, do I look perfect?
in my hair do I look perfect I've forgotten what to do to fit the mold
Cause everything inside me
Screams no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no
Sometimes it's hard to follow your heart
But tears don't mean you're losing, everybody's bruising
There's nothing wrong with who you are Yes Yes, nothing goes. Fake shows like, oh, just go
and leave me alone. We'll talk real life, good love, good night with a smile that's mine. That's my home
That's my home No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. Don't lose who you are.
In the blur of the stars.
Sometimes it's hard to follow your heart.
But tears don't mean you're losing
Just be true to who you are
There's nothing wrong with who you are.
like butter as mellow would say dude your vocals are insane they're fucking insane and i love the
message behind that song too by the way it is okay to not be okay guys that was beautiful Thank you. Bing bong. I was late and then I cut Pugs off.
Oh I was just saying Luke.
The power behind those high notes
like you must do cut a hole
in your like pockets and maybe like
pluck a ball hair to get those high notes
like I'm just curious how
what did you say pluck a ball hair
I'm envious like you're obviously classically trained
or something cause like your voice is amazing
the delivery is just spectacular
it's the reason I played saxophone
because I always wished I could sing
but when I hit saxophone I feel like I can just
belt out what I would do if I sang
and you can do that with your voice
your range is bonkers voice and those same high notes like in the alto like i just it it's really amazing good okay
yeah man your range is bonkers and your vocal agility vocal agility on point
so that's what people believe all male singers have have the potential to reach really high
notes it's just it takes a while to train i know what you mean. You hear that, guys? You can sing
like Luke, too. And like Devin. Listen to how
high he just went. It was amazing. You're so high.
Luke, you're awesome, bro.
He's also got that really, like, buttery accent, too.
That was a fantastic song, Luke.
Well, Luke, I hope you stick around.
you stick around i'd love to hear more from you and i promise i won't fall asleep
I'd love to hear more from you, and I promise I won't fall asleep.
um i think that we should check in with sierra real quick and then i think we're gonna do
i'm sorry zero percent danger okay danger happening somebody with some right mella
uh yeah like anybody then what we're gonna do is we're gonna go to a host round because it's been
uh like at least an hour i think since anyone has heard mella play anything so we go to a host round because it's been like at least an hour, I think, since anyone has heard Mela play anything.
So we should do a host round and then we'll kick off the next.
I'll get in there after that, but I can't go.
We'll start with you, Sierra, and then we'll go Marcos, Devin, Chris Rose, and then we'll pick it back up.
Host. Yeah. Host. Yeah. Get ready. I'm now. Okay. Is it host? Yes, host. Yeah, host.
Yeah, get ready. Get your saxophone ready.
I'm just gonna pull up a random song.
I guess it's not very random.
I've done this one before. love covering this song i'm in
the process for or in the process of auditioning for something pretty cool right now um and i have
to record some audition tapes tomorrow so i guess this is what like a like a musical audition?
No, I'm not telling anyone yet. Oh, you're gonna give it a secret. Okay.
I I did the first audition last week and I got a call back.
So now I have to do the next phase of auditions.
I'm basically just going to wait and see if I,
if I get through this round of auditions,
then I'll probably start like telling people what I'm doing.
I meant to say when I get through this round of auditions,
because you're going to get a callback because you're a fucking star.
Okay. Let's see if i can do this right now
2am and she calls me cause i'm still awake can you help me unravel my latest mistake?
I don't love him, winter just wasn't my season
Yeah, we walk through the door so accusing
Their eyes like they have any right at all to criticize
Hypocrites, you're all here for the very same reason
cause you can't jump the track we're like cars on a cable and life's like an hourglass clear to Can find the rewind button girl So cradle your head in your hands
And breathe, just breathe
Oh, breathe, just breathe May he turn 21 on the base of 4+,
Just a day he sat down to the flask
And his fist ain't been sober
Since maybe October of last year
Here in town you can tell he's been down for a while
But my god it's so beautiful when that boy smiles
Wanna hold him, maybe I'll just sing about it
Cause you can't jump the track, we're like cars on a cable
And life's like an hourglass glued to the table
No one can find the rewind but the bus
So cradle your head in your eyes
And breathe, just breathe
Oh, breathe, just breathe
There's a light at each end of this tunnel you shout
Cause you're just as far in as you'll ever be out
These mistakes you make, you'll just make them again
If you only try turning around
2am and I'm still awake, writing a song
If I get it all down on paper
It's no longer in suddenly threatening the life it belongs to
And I feel like I'm naked in front of the crowd
Cause these words are my diaries screaming out loud
And I know that you'll use them however you want to
Cause you can't jump the track where like cars on a cable
And life's like an hourglass glued to the table
No one can find a rewind but noise
So cradle your head in your hands
And breathe, just breathe
Oh, breathe, just breathe Just breathe
Just breathe. Just breathe. Awww!
You get all the sound effects of that, Mel. All the sound effects.
I love it when you do that cover.
I don't hear you do covers very often.
And I'm a big fan of all your original music.
But that one is perfect for you.
It's like you wrote that song.
Appreciate that. I wish I wrote that song. It I love it. Aw, thank you. Appreciate that.
I wish I wrote that song.
It's Breathe 2AM by Anna Nalek.
You're very close, Sierra.
Mella, you are incredible as usual
never ever ever cease to amaze me
and I don't know about y'all but we're all wearing
Mella's merch for our Christmas photos
whatever you celebrate Kwanzaa
all of the above Thanksgiving New Year's we're all wearing Mella's merch for our Christmas photos, Hanukkah, whatever you celebrate, Kwanzaa, all of the above, Thanksgiving, New Year's. We're going to watch them in between. We're
actually going to wear different stuff every time. But get some of Mella's merch, get it for
your mom, get it for your husband, get it for your kids, get it for your besties.
Get it for your dog. Definitely get it for your dog. Do you even love your dog if your
dog doesn't have Mella merch? Come on. So it's pinned up in the nest somewhere.
Is there a pre-save link?
Or where is your song going to be dropping tonight at midnight too?
So Silly Games is dropping on all platforms.
And yes, I will be putting it on Bandcamp as suggested by Jules.
I will be putting it on Bandcamp as suggested by Jules.
But yeah, so I struggled with getting a pre-save link for this one
because I think it's because I put it up.
I distributed the song on 2Core,
and I think I just put it up too late to get a pre-save link.
So I think that's why, but I don't know.
I just struggled with it this time.
Did you just say drop a song just one time at band camp yeah it's tonight at midnight um
like it if you're in a different time zone it's even possible that some people have it now i don't
know i don't know what time it is anywhere else but but here it's 10.07. Yeah, it's 10.07 Eastern.
I'm going to pull this up on Spotify,
like I did the last time,
I think, that you were in the space co-hosting,
right, for the other song.
We will run that on Spotify.
Guys, it's going to be all streaming platforms,
we're going to listen back.
Yeah, and if you've pre-saved with my stuff before,
like notified anyway like it should just automatically do it so yeah yeah i feel like
band camp's a good way for people in spaces to support music artists it's pretty easy to go and
and purchase music from people uh via via band camp like if you're not into crypto and stuff
like a lot of the web3 if
you're not into the nfts and a lot of the stuff people are doing out here like band camp's a
really easy way for for people to go and support artists and like say a song is two dollars you can
buy five copies if you want to give them ten dollars or you could you know what i mean like
you could buy as many copies as you as you want just to support the artist you know what i mean so
um yeah i think i think band camp's a great way to have uh support through spaces yeah and for those of you who don't know um
band camp does this really cool thing I think it's once a month it's called band camp Fridays
um and basically instead of them taking a cut all proceeds go to the artists on band camp fridays so that's really really cool to
mella like we brush our teeth to mella we rock fridays our melody all day every day and since
you didn't have a pre-save link i read that 50 people listen to spaces on speaker so i got to
real quick alexa set a reminder for midnight to download Melody's new single. Hey, Google, set a reminder for midnight to download Melody's new single.
Siri, set a reminder for midnight to download Melody's new single.
My Siri did not respond, just FYI.
Pugs, you have your hand up what's up yeah i was just gonna add that um so i so i just took in uh just breathe with my daughter like i
went and sought her out i'm like honey check it out meli b is a special guest tonight so
like i've been playing your music when my daughter and I drive around town in the car.
I sent your Spotify to her.
And I don't want to, like, I don't want to, a little secret to share, I don't want to over promise and under deliver.
But, like, she started singing along to, does she make you dance?
Does she make you, what's that one called?
Dance and Cry. Dance and Cry.
And so I'm working towards
doing that. And so if and when we do, I will make
sure that you're present. But I'm
turning my daughter on to Melody.
That would be so wholesome
We did a little duet together
a Dance and Cry Mellow B merch
that's on some of your merch
The merch is pinned up in the NASA for easy access because Sierra posted it.
So look for Sierra's post.
I want to hear it be like, does she make you laugh?
And then your little girl's like, does she make you cry?
I want to hear it so bad, Pugs.
I'm also trying to get her to do pure imagination.
You know what else you should teach her? You should teach her the jerk song.
There's expertise in it. There's expertise in it
There's expertise in it Cara come on now
Oh whatever 13 year olds curse come on now
Well speaking of good dad
This guy's kind of weird hang on
I'll tell you're 18 to introduce you to jerk
Yeah Jules What are you going to do for us Oh my god. Jerk is not a... That's fine. It's fine.
Jules, what are you going to do for us?
I'm choosing that you're next.
This is just... It's another new instrumental,
so I'm just going to see what the hell...
From the Voluntold album.
I'm just going to noodle. I'm just going to see what the hell. From the Voluntold album. I'm just going to noodle.
I'm just going to noodle. ยถยถ . ยถยถ . . . . ยถยถ . All right, I'm running out of breath.
I got plenty of breath for you right here, Jules.
So many babies were just made to that song.
I think I just got pregnant, guys.
I don't know how that's possible but it happened.
Bing bong! Bing bong! Bing bong! Bing bong! Bing bong! Bing bong!
Jules, you see what I'm talking about? I don't give a fuck what your inspiration is.
Keep doing that because that was incredible.
Is this man a single? I just think I found you. Can I say something? Yeah, like nine months, so many jazz babies are going to be born.
real quick? Real quick. Oh my god.
And guess what? I have something that I've been
cooking up and I need a sex type of vibe like that and DM me man DM bro bro
Jules realtor that's bro you just pulled like hey y'all could tell you when a
person been through something in life cuz it come out in that music, boy.
Oh, we, Jews, you told a story with our brother. Go ahead with your bad self.
That's what I love about music because I like it sounds like you got like pain from that.
But I got like I'm falling in love, baby. Like, yeah, that was so sexy, beautiful.
And earlier you said that you like the sax because you feel like it's what you
do with vocals like you were singing to us just now it was like vocals yes like when he did when
he did the no transitions it was like listen to me and then he was like listen to me and i'm like
it's incredible that's right danger i love you jules like you gotta play sax more often man you really do
Everybody tell Jules how much y'all love him
I will buy that album today right now
I was thinking about that I should just like make like you know just a short instrumental piece or something like that.
I would jam to that shit all day long.
Saxophone is the only instrument.
If tomorrow there was only one instrument left on earth, I would hope it would be the saxophone.
Because it's the only instrument that I can listen to solo for hours on end.
Because you're like singing.
It's so beautiful and it's so difficult and you're so incredible at it.
And you better play more often because like otherwise you're just doing a disservice to the rest of us.
Like Jules, those no transitions, man.
You had rap in that read, bro. It was great.
Hey, Sierra, you hit it on
point real for real, though, because
saxophone is the closest to the human
voice out of all instruments.
So I can dig it. You know what I mean?
You were singing, damn yes he was
speaking he was speaking i was gonna add a comment too i was gonna say so i might be off base here
it might be the gummies you can tell me but i almost feel like i feel like you weren't in a
comfortable key like you weren't launching out and whizzing up and down the scales you were hanging
tight by some comfortable notes,
but you didn't panic and you flowed and you let it happen. And you like, like, I just feel like
the musicianship shown through, even though you kept it simple and stayed close to a home base
of notes. Like I said, it might be the gummies, but like I'm hearing it from a whole different,
like artistic, like musicianship vibe
like you hung in there you were breathing literally and figuratively and uh you made it work man no
you're you're right because this is this is a more like i just made this instrumental this week so
like i haven't had a lot of time to play on it and i find that when i like even if i do play in spaces if i get nervous or
if i feel like i haven't found a good melody i tend to run around on the on the keys i could
hear that and yet it was hard to hear that because you made it just natural but what this one i
couldn't hear it no this one you're taking me all over the dance floor particular time like you said
like i just leaned into it like i My eyes were closed the whole time.
I felt like I just kind of relaxed into it.
I wasn't worried about running around trying to find a note.
I was just like, okay, this melody sounds good.
I'm just going to lean into this and play it out.
I hope to hear so much more from you on that end.
Jules, you got lost in all the flowers.
You want to say that again?
I was just saying, if you asked me to play the 12 major scales,
I'm not a trained saxophonist.
No, we don't care. Just close your eyes and do whatever you want.
Yeah, nobody... Nobody cares.
I don't mean it like that, but you know...
Nobody cares. I mean, in this case, we don't.
It came so much from you, bro. It came so much from...
We felt that. I mean, you can see everybody in this space
And it don't matter what your level is or nothing.
Look at how much this space just lit up
You see what I'm talking about?
You were asking me something? No, I see. Thank you. No, I'm asking him. I'm asking him. Yeah. You were asking me something?
No, I was saying, do you see what I mean?
Like, this is why I've constantly nagged you.
Kara got me way, like, on stages more.
She got me hanging out more.
She got me playing my sax more.
Now she's asked me to co-host her space like
yeah definitely uh we're gonna get more inspiration more jewels yeah don't thank me for it thank
yourself that was amazing you're very talented um speaking of talented i think it's your turn next
cara yeah yeah thank you um real real quick real quick slim because you're with Rob, if you don't mind,
I'm going to drop you down to bring up another person who's requesting.
So I just wanted to shout that out since you two are together.
And then, guys, we have like 75 people in the space,
which is pretty incredible,
but we only have like 34 retweets or reposts.
If you guys could repost the space that would be great what's that devin
no problem no problem sis oh perfect thank you so much for your understanding i appreciate you
hey hey it's a one thousand million quadrillion zillion percent love you already know what it is
scent love you already know what it is it's awesome when we get to 120 people in the space

That song is like... I really like that song,
but it's like such an upbeat, cool song. Like, it's a vibe song is like, I really like that song, but it's like, it's like such an upbeat, cool song.
Like, it's a vibe, you know what I mean?
But it's such a dark topic.
Like, you know, it's so it's like, it's such a weird balance of emotion for that song because it's like, it's something that you want to like skip and jump to.
But it's like about mass shootings.
Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. I didn't't know that i didn't know that until school shootings absolutely what yes i
didn't know that yeah it's like it's such a strange song for such like for such a vibe i can't do that
anymore what yeah it's what we better outrun my bullets like i'm coming to blast you kids
yeah it's crazy all the other kids with the pumped-up kicks better run.
It's such a good song, though.
Like, you're always like, you know, like I said, you want to skip.
Like, I feel like I'm, like, you know what I mean?
It's like a good-feeling song, but it's, like, such a dark, dark topic.
I guess I never really thought about it. Like, like I just thought I don't even know what I thought
but I didn't think it was about mass shootings yeah yeah well guys so that's
the last time you heard Kara play that song um where did Sierra go? Is she still here? Where is she? It's Amy Sierra.
Oh, did she leave? Oh, she, I think she froze.
Oh, Sierra, get your butt back in here.
Marcos, you have been patiently waiting.
Appreciate you. You still have no money.
Every time I see you with the $0.
Is this $0 or all money? What is it?
I mean, it's funny. I forget. I have to explain it every time. My name is Marcos and that's
just ... I just go by O's. It's not all money.
It's $0. Yeah. I mean, that's just the brand.
It was just like, in terms of my identity in hip hop,
it was just like when I was thinking of my rap name,
I guess, I was kind of on the wave of like,
I'm just going to use my own name as my rapper name I was as my stage name but um
I ended up just going with oh or oh money just because it's kind of like a
I mean for a number of reasons but one of them is like yeah the no money like you know the rags the riches like it's you know you know the story
you know absolutely yeah i'm still on the bag but anyway yeah we're working on the riches no i'm
just kidding yeah we're working on it see so you understand um he understands he's from canada
i'm talking about the money thing the money thing
yeah I mean our money's garbage
I think I actually did it last week
one of my favorite songs to perform
so I'm going to do it again
it's got a little bit like a
Spanish verse in it that's a little fun if you know any Spanish but there's also
English there anyways I'm just gonna get right to Cha-cha, uh
Don't tell me if you can show me
Honesty, authenticity, OP
Eat my food, put slaps on and blow tree
Money and mother nature are both green
I know what it don't mean, I wanna go lean
All I do blow steam, just like a kettle
On my bike, I'm pumping the pedal
Estos pendejos huelen de pelo, no saben cero
Y cuando no tienes dinero te tratan de perro
Nomรกs me dices y te espero
Solo entre estaba abierto Look what I did with my voice Look what I did with a choice Look what I did with my voice, look what I did with a choice, look what I did with some noise, look what I did for the boys, look what I did for my dogs, maybe a little too late, all of the people we lost, maybe just say it was fate, really who covered the cost, really put food on the plate, for real in the cut like some gods. My lines are sticky like tape, don't need to claim I'm a boss.
Yeah, I do know that I'm great.
Really am gifted, no claws, no pun to focus on hate.
Real ones are smoking on Zah, why you smoke Cesar you vape.
Really was twisting up raws, can't celebrate without cake.
Really don't care about the law, they say in the dollar inflate.
You really can't put it on pause, some people try to escape.
They really gon' put up they pause some people try to escape they
really gonna put up they pause after they wet they gonna shake really was little when moms you
think that i care if they flake till you fall in love with the flaws forever how long it's gonna
take soon as they hear the applause they wanna know what i make i'm an artist, I create... ...and... ...and...
...bing... ...bing... ...bing... ...bing... ...bing... that was dope marcos i love the vibe of your music man that was awesome
yeah i like that i like like multilingual rap too i don't know if you're familiar with um
there's a guy from junk and he was in canada for a while he's actually an italian rapper uh but he was in canada for a while he kind of he he got as
big as he could get i think in in the province he was in and then he moved back to europe so he could
do more tours etc but anyway he goes by the name of junk and he speaks like three or four different
languages and i don't understand a word they say but it's like it's really talented when somebody
can like flip through languages like that so i think that's cool like i didn't understand a word they say, but it's like, it's really talented when somebody can like flip through languages like that.
So I think that's cool. Like I didn't understand a word you said in Spanish, but like it's cool when you hear multi multilingual rap.
I'm curious, do you produce your own beats too or are you downloading beats?
In general, I don't. I have, I've made a couple of my releases, like my earlier songs.
I did make my own beats, but now this one was produced by
this producer named hoodrich kid all right cool man like yeah uh yeah i don't know maybe i'll
like i've been yeah i've been putting some stuff together to send to to artists if you're interested
in flipping through some stuff that i've made then i can send you something if you want to
send me your email because yeah i'm always looking to yeah put the beats out there too yeah just send me a dm with your uh with your email or
send me your email if you want to be on the list
yeah that was great um hey guys real quick there is a Jessica in the space right now
and I think I see I think I know who it is, but I'm not totally sure.
But girl, you just sent me a cash app tip.
And I really think that you sent way too much money.
I think you, I appreciate you so much, but I think you need to go back and check that
number because that figure is astronomical.
I think you might've made a mistake there.
Please go back and take that back fix that just want to let you know because i think it was a typo and that's that's
crazy to me if that's for real if you're rich and it's real though we'll split yeah um thank you so
much for even wanting to to tip me but girl i really do think you made a mistake with that
number so please go back and check that okay how wholesome these people are
i love jessica i know jessica jessica you're a rock star you're amazing uh she is a sweetheart
you're also amazing and that was super cool of you to say that very cool but that number
mistakes before number is not right
okay i got wow okay i think um who did i say was after marcos help me
i was it was devin yes okay devin go hey i just got a notification that uh
melabee released a new track on band camp actually, I tripped you out. I put Dance and Cry up there, but if you're on my Patreon, anybody that's on my
can actually listen to Silly Games
before it comes out at midnight.
I didn't know you had a Patreon.
I got an email notification about it.
I see. It is Dance and Cry.
Yeah, you'll end up getting a notification again
when I put Silly Games up at midnight.
And on all of your smart home devices.
I'm sorry, you're welcome.
I'm going to speak to you as a listener, guys.
It's been a pleasure being able to hear with you.
Hey, thanks so much for joining.
if you want to come back up, man, I would love to
hear something from you. I don't know why you dropped. I didn't remove you, so I don't know
what happened. All right, Devin, please. Do we have, do we have Devin tonight or do we have Stewie?
You've got, you've got Devin because, well, this, I was going to play a song that,
that Mela doesn't think I wrote as long as we're, you know, promoting Mela tonight.
She was, I played it the other night and she's like, you didn't write that.
You can go look it up on Spotify.
I wish I had heard that. that comes I'm breaking down because everything I ever wanted is walking away
I've burned myself just to make it all work out
But still she says the same thing
I see her inside of my mind
Because she made me feel the way I never felt before
So break me all apart before I'm incomplete
And I ask you what did you do?
To make my own goals for you have to turn into a man Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh What heck did you take?
Turning over, I'm relieved and terrified That she might somehow find a way back into my mind
So I spent the whole day in the experience
Right away, just so I could try and try
And I'm only till you die
But silence and affection
Because she always returns
Before I'm even going to freeze my ass
To make my wish for you live to turn into what I need
What? What have you done to me?
Man, that's one of my favorite Devin songs.
So worth the wait to hear that song.
Nah, I still don't buy it, dude guys. There we go. Yes. Nah.
I still don't buy it, dude.
You didn't write that shit.
It just makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside.
Yeah, I thought it was like a Blue Fighter song or some shit.
It has this sense of nostalgia to it.
Okay, to be compared to Dave Grohl, thank you.
That's one of the biggest compliments I've ever had in my life.
I've heard it a few times now.
It's solid tune. It's very well written. I've heard it a few times now. It's amazing. It's solid tune.
And I say it over and over again, like, you're one of the best songwriters I've heard out
And if you're not going to record them, you should at least sell them to people who will.
They're really great songs.
That's the second time you've told me that, too.
I mean, like I said, you write great songs.
You really do write really good songs.
It's going to be the peacekeeper of the acquisition between our two nations.
But your series songs are amazing, too.
And I have a little something for all y'all.
I was going to say, it's no Canadian beaver, but...
Everyone, see, everyone's getting wake-up calls from Stewie.
That's great. One of the best things that ever happened
to me was I got a wake-up call when I was at work in the office last week at 10 o'clock in the
morning he's a little late I was already awake but he called me and now Ciara got one guys uh if you
want a wake-up call from Stewie Griffin I'm telling you right now just a DM Danger Dove and your phone
number and I'll give you a call maybe if Ev If you'd like to. We'll see.
Well, my milkshake does bring all the boys to the yard, and apparently the girls, too.
Devin, I love you so much, man. That's great.
I love that tune, Danger. I love that tune. Sorry to break in.
Oh, look at you. What's up, rabbit?
Devin, you are again, bro, you are just mad.
I don't even think I need to
repeat what anybody else and everybody else has said.
Kyra, Jules, y'all, listen, listen.
about this already. He's already prepped.
But this is what I'd like to officially offer to
everybody, to you as the host
at a date of your choice.
You guys choose the artists.
They come through here and heavy and hard
i would love to see devon showcase jewels headline kara headline everybody that's been
rocking in here yes you know i got the capability to do it i want the whole world to see the talent
that is coming through this space that is coming coming through our community. Yes. Let's, Cara, Jules, we ain't got to talk about it now,
but I'm telling you, if you are interested, ladies and gentlemen,
if you ain't performing, if you ain't scared to be on camera, right?
If you ain't scared to be on camera and you want to do this thing,
I am fully ready, fully, fully ready to push this to the absolute cause.
Did you see that earlier?
Here's what's the beauty about it.
Here's the beauty about it. You can put your avatar
up there, just your avatar,
and do your thing. So you ain't never
said that I gotta be on camera.
But I want the world, we're blasting out here,
Y'all know what I do for independent music makers.
please let me do this for us.
Y'all ain't gotta be done.
You two really appreciate that.
So if there's a way to put an avatar up there,
We'll put that beautiful PFP avatar that you got right there on the screen.
If you're camera shy, again, we'll put that PFP up there.
Kara, should I use the comb over I did for the X69 news bit?
That'd be amazing that nobody listens to because i don't think i listen to it so they're not going to notice if
we don't talk about blockchain and instead we play music as long as you don't curse we'll be cool
yeah that's awesome i appreciate that so much i feel like jules's beard might take over the
entire show though i'm not sure what are you talking about it's gonna get it's gonna
he's like no i've got two braids in it we're good
he's just channeling his inner viking
he's just gonna get up and walk off his face
i feel like beard braiding tutorials would like pop off on youtube
you're trying to make some some passive income like beard braiding tutorial
let's go i want to see you know beads i you know i wonder there's no way like
like the adhd like it kicks in for the beard too like are you just like for i'll'll just have a fucking freak out one day and just rip it off my face.
Shave it off or something like that.
But it would be good if I was able to grow it to the length of braiding.
Because we're coming into winter.
So it's coming into the cold season.
It's easier to grow in the cold season, I find.
I get so sick of it if it's warm up.
By the end of the winter, I might be able to break it.
Always going to have a winter beard.
It's all frosty and shit.
I'm curious if I can break it.
Now I'm just curious if I can.
He's accepting the challenge.
We're going to have to name this beard A good beard will match you like
500 bucks a day at a mall
As a Santa Claus, I'm just saying
We'd have to spray it white though and that seems like a problem
You know, I'm not going to lie
I used to do this Sunday brunch
This Santa brunch at a golf
course every year like if some of the shit that I've done you'd be surprised I used to I used to
dress up like as a hero like I used to work for this like heroes of my city like the name whatever
I live in Victoria but the heroes of Victoria anyway I used to do like children's fundraisers
like children's hospital fundraisers and shit like that and I would dress up as like the Green
Lantern or like Captain America and shit my kids loved it when my kids were young
they loved it but uh anyway i've got some other costumes that like i've definitely grown my beard
out for and painted it white or gray you had the beard and i'm like wow captain america just came
out of a ship but i did this sunday brunch for a few years at Christmas time and dressed up as Santa and did the Santa thing.
It wouldn't be the first time.
I'm already calling your beard Braden.
It's got its known name already.
Back in the day, I used to do some fucking wild shit.
I couldn't see myself doing some of the shit I used to do in public anymore.
In tights, I don't think.
I'm all in with the in tights.
Embarrassing. this is fucking embarrassing so
the good the good thing the first time that i fucking joined these guys go on uh oh my god
this is embarrassing though so the first time i joined these guys they dressed me up as captain
america no one was like hey these are tights you should bring a jock because you're going to be
around children you know what i mean but good thing i was captain america and i had a shield and i was able
to just like hide my fucking junk all day before i realized that you should wear a jock so people
just can't see like the outline of your fucking cock in a pair of tights but anyway yeah pretty
funny captain america has huge nuts mom did you did you say did you say a jock for your cock You wear jocks where you just look like you have a Ken doll crotch
Rather than like seeing everything
Yeah I used to have fun with that though
I can't wait to see pictures
Yeah we like to have fun here guys That's that for you. I can't wait to see pictures.
Yeah, we like to have fun here, guys.
Yeah, pictures or it didn't happen, Jules.
Yeah, that's right. Oh, no.
Hostess with the monsters.
Yeah, so, Ciara, we haven't heard from you yet.
Then we're going to go to Chris.
Ciara, Chris, Rose, Rabbit.
If you want to go Chris and then go you.
Whatever your preference.
You've been here forever.
We should probably check. I think I might be. Can you hear my crickets? Can you hear the crickets? Yeah, let's do it. COVID, Sierra, what up? Am I on my spectrum? We should probably check.
I think I might be. Can you hear my crickets?
Can you hear the crickets?
I don't know that many songs, but
Mella, one time in his face you told me
that part of being a performer
is getting used to playing the same songs
So I super appreciate you for that.
And I pale in comparison to the other musicians.
Ciara, you've got a song to do. Get it, girl. They're playing our song
Can you hear the hum of our song?
I was swimming, my eyes were dark till you woke me
And told me that opening was just the start, it was
Now I see you, till kingdom come You're the one I want to see me through all the stupid shit I've done
So we're all in six feet under
Killed just like you were before you knew you'd know me, and you'd know me.
Look, blooming up from the ground, three rounds and a sound like whispering
So this was our song, yeah this was our song
I still see the lights, I can see them in a crisscross What is right won't cover us
Cause you know me and I could not give up a fight
And if I know what is right won't cover us
Cause you know me and I could not give up a fight
Killed just like you were before you knew you'd know me
Blooming up from the ground
Three rounds and a sound like whispering, you know me, you know me.
Guys, I'm a novice musician.
So to share space with these incredible musicians is super intimidating.
So thank you for letting me play my four chords for you.
Stop it, you're a musician too.
Love that song sierra i don't know i don't know about that care this is a sad song you you and kara are so like you
know for for new musicians for the level that you're at and just like how like bashful you
both are and harden yourselves you are like but you're both so amazing you know what i mean and like and and different like
you know kara's got this voice and things that most of these singers in here wish they could do
and sierra you're just got this sultry just nice tone like it's so pleasing to listen to you play
like it's so lovely you know what i play. Like, it's so lovely.
Like, both of you guys are so talented for the amount of time you've been playing.
But you're both so hard on yourselves, too.
You gotta stop with that shit.
Kara, it's the reason I have the confidence to, like, play in spaces and stuff.
And Mela, you both, like, talked me out big time when I was super, super new. So appreciate y'all I just do this I'm like a normal shrummer um I this is for fun it's my escape and thank you
so much for letting me share with you uh everybody make sure you get your Mella B merch
I don't know if you heard but we're all wearing it for our group Christmas photo
um or Hanukkah or Thanksgiving.
Like whatever you celebrate, we're going to be there.
It's going to be a holiday photo.
Get some for your dog or your cat.
We don't discriminate here.
I didn't mean for that to rhyme.
I don't have much for your danger
maybe i should maybe there should be like an x-rated side of the merch store i don't know
but your own danger noodle yeah um sierra that was beautiful absolutely stunning i can like feel
it you know like i can feel what I think you're feeling when
you perform it. So, um, yeah, that's like, that's the most important thing. Who was it? I think
Kelly Clarkson said, like, there's so many, there's so many great performers out there,
not be, and it's not because they're like super technically trained, like super experienced or
anything like that. Like what makes a good performer and what makes a good musician is can they make you feel something um
and yeah I get all like tingly when I hear you so you're definitely doing that
oh my god that's such high praise coming for me I so appreciate you I was crying a little bit when
I played that uh because it's been like a rough two weeks, I think,
and our 50 first date or whatever.
Well, I think you're simply fantastic.
an incredible musician. I agree
with you, Jules. I mean, how fortunate are we to have all these ladies up here playing and singing along with us.
You girls are all incredible individually, each and every one of you.
But Sierra, to see you growing and being in these spaces and overcoming your fears.
I think that was a very clean performance tonight.
You sounded great just coming off of a sickness,
and you just carried us away like always.
I agree with Jules on this one that you have this sultry voice
that is just very pleasant to listen to,
and thank you so much for bringing that.
Amazing. Amazing. amazing amazing while speaking of amazing women we do have my girl chris in here and chris i want
to say hi and then before before you play anything i think that you have a confession
that you want to share with uh with jules You want to tell them? Dun, dun, dun. Huh?
You know what I'm talking about. You know what I'm talking about.
Can you hear the bing bong?
Oh, darn. That laugh was amazing.
Oh my God. Oh, darn. That laugh was amazing. Oh, my God.
Whatever it is that makes Chris laugh like that, I'm okay with it.
Dude, this is the best shit ever.
Yo, you know what shit is at work right now?
At the end of the day, my nurses
are like, come on, just buzz it.
I said, there's still patients. I can't do it.
I don't want to hear that.
Today is like the last two patients. I just went
And they're like just looking and smiling. i feel like these new airpods have some sort of awareness like it's not as offensive as it was
in my last headphones i'm not gonna lie to you i think it wasn't too much care i need new batteries
well here's the thing is that chris is like what goat do you have right so she found it
on amazon but before she found that on amazon and ordered it for herself she found a different one
and i ordered it so now i'm the proud owner of two
so now we can both torture jewels it's amazing It's a fucking Halloween goat. Spooky fucking goat.
So now we can both torture Jules.
Well, that's going on the album.
Let's go on the group album.
We're tag teaming Jules with the screaming goats here, guys.
Yeah, it's all blame it on Chris.
This is not the mood of the song I'm going to sing at all.
It's like totally opposite.
Cara, why do you do that all the time
everybody in the space hates us right now i'm so sorry but i'm not
hello everybody oh my god this is like hi canada star star Hello everybody Alright
Alright let me reset my face
Because I'm smiling so much it hurts
Your smile will go on of course it's oh that's jules
you always you always know it's jules because he comes on with, he's got like this little like giggle thing that he does on the mic.
Yeah, you always know it's him.
Okay, let's sing this song.
So I'd like to sing the song by Chelsea Cutter and Jeremy Zucker.
They're really credible songwriters.
And this is a simple song, but it's just so heartfelt when they wrote it it's really
cool it was in their in their ep that they wrote together um they had this like thing where they
decided to just write songs together although they're two different individuals individuals What's that, Jules?
Yes So I'm going to play my piano
Or my keyboard and then I'm also going to play guitar
So let's see how it works
At the same time, you're talented
One after the other, I can't do this
Are you Vishnu with like six hands or something?
Yeah We'll see You're talented. One after the other. I can't do that. Are you Vishnu with like six hands or something? Yeah.
She's playing the piano with her feet and the guitar.
Guys, live in Drop The Mic, we have Chris up next who's gonna play the guitar and the piano at the same time.
so melo actually said something really important you know uh no matter what you play how simple
how hard it is it's how you could could express it that the people can feel it.
And that's always the hard part or the tricky part or just the special part about it.
That's how you connect to people.
So anyway, this is a really love song.
It's called This Is How We Fall In Love. Ahem. Sun in my eyes, navy blue skies, you are the reason I can survive.
We'll turn off the phones just to be alone.
But now that I'm not scared
This is how you fall in love
Let go and I'll hold you up
So pull me tight and close your eyes
All my love, side to side
It's easy to strike, my mother's advice. You are the reason, never think twice. I just went until we grow old I had a nightmare
And now that I'm not scared
This is how you fall in love
Let go and I'll hold you up
Hold me tight and close your eyes
All my love, side to side
All my love, side to side Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, la la la, say just I
Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, la la la, say just I Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, With you on my love side to side
This is how you fall in love
So hold me tight and close your eyes
On my love side to side Hold me tight and close your eyes.
Oh, Chris, how do you do that, girl? Oh, oh, oh, oh.
Wow. wow i'm just gonna stop with the sound effects and let every single person in this space throw flowers to you because you are incredible thank you girl thank you so much that was
like um uh yeah it was it was butter.
It was like, it was so good.
You have such a beautiful voice.
And, you know, like your body is your instrument, right?
And I could just hear how relaxed
and like settled into that song you were.
So, yeah, I could just like, I don't know.
I don't know how to explain it.
You were just in that so hard and like vibing.
And I feel like everybody in this room could feel that.
I may or may not have cried.
I mean, I wouldn't have been trying to record his face,
but like I may have shed a tear or two
or gotten the tissues out.
Chris, you're making them.
You got this silky and sultry.
You know, couple it with the piano.
You got us. not to mention her
fingering abilities yes and she played the piano at the same time guys oh with the vocal range oh
my god so good chris every time thank you guys thank you so much i'm assuming the piano came
through a okay i had to lift my phone up.
Yeah, it all blended together.
I'll remember this position.
Chris, the only other thing that I have to say to your performance is this girl.
So, the only thing that, the only thing I'll add, I love Chris, is you make me consider
Jen's going to cut her hair in the corner tonight.
Oh my god. Yo. Jen just got pregnant I did, I think I did
I didn't know Subaru had a stereo type
Oh my god, I can't breathe.
Jenna used to write a whole song called
Jenna, that was awesome, Jen.
Girl, yeah. That that. I did. I did. Girl, yeah.
That must have been present.
We love you so much, Chris.
Real quick, this feels like a good time to kind of reset, drop the mic every Thursday at 8 PM EST. If you want to get away from
the bullshit and politics and anything that has to do with real life, right? We're here to chill,
listen to music, vibe, good people have fun. We have rotating co-hosts, but it is me and Jules
every single week. And this is why I love hosting the space because it is always a good time.
And Jules has the best soundboard ever and hopefully he doesn't suffocate from his beard
one day because we don't know what's happening over there.
It's like three months from now it's like so Jules what do you have to say?
That's what I'm saying. That was beautiful. After Mella makes it big
We're going to write a whole
Oh my god you you're right.
things will happen, I'm sure.
That's amazing. That's going to be my new
You just heard an all-account that's Subaru Jen.
Probably already 17 of them. Especially if Jen was on it. I'm trying to find the breath to speak Devin you're killing me
Next person we have is Rose. Hello, Rose. How are you?
Hey, guys. Great. And you?
Doing good. Doing good. I'm happy to see you came back.
Well, what you got for us?
Yes, I'm going to sing. I'm going to sing a playback because I don't play any instrument.
And there's an acoustic version of this song, but I've been rocking all my life with the original one so since I'm doing a playback I'll go for the original one anyways and I hope you like it.
This is a song called Plush. . And I'm free, oh, the time's the way to go, yeah
So where you going to tomorrow when I'm free, please I'd be like to call you going
Where are you going for tomorrow?
Where are you going with your master found?
When the ghost feels, you smell her
When she's never alone I go, she feels, smell her
Well, she's never alone And I feel the monster fans on the way
So it's the rain in the peril
And I feel the side of the ice
So what would you need to hear
And where are you going for tomorrow?
And I feel, I feel when the ghost is here and you smell her
Got time to time to wait for tomorrow
You found it, you found it, you found it
Got time to time, wait for tomorrow
You found it, you found it, you found it Where are you going for tomorrow?
Where are you going for tomorrow? Where are you going with your mask around?
And I feel, I feel when it doesn't feel to smell her Well she's never alone
Got time to time, wait for tomorrow
Found it, found it, found it
Got time to time, wait for tomorrow We found it. Oh.
You found it. that is one of my favorite songs by them that was so great what you so much so nervous the first time I do this so I hope it went
well no it's great you did really well girl thank you yeah you can never go wrong with stone temple
pilots great job right I've heard you do like house music I've heard you do like hip-hop that
was like some some rock like I love you. You're very talented, very dynamic vocalist.
So cool to hear that song here tonight.
One of my personal favorites.
Thank you for bringing that.
Thank you for listening and being so enthusiastic and welcoming.
Yeah, that was beautiful rose thank
you so much for singing that love that song thank you
yeah that was amazing rose appreciate you thank you girl
all right guys so um meta sequo man, are you still up here?
I'm happy you finally made it.
Metta Sequoia, you with us?
I was like, should we call him?
I'm happy that you came through.
This is a great space tonight.
Everyone in here is so talented.
Mela B got a great voice.
And I was really digging the sax work. The saxophone was just jamming. So yeah, tonight I'm not at home, so I don't have my laptop with me. But I've asked Kara to play a song for me. It's the song that I previously had online. If that's cool with you, Kara. Yeah, so I pulled it up and it opened up a whole thing.
So what am I tapping on again?
Yeah, you're just scrolling down and the track is called Sequoia Sunrise.
Did you want to say anything about it before I press play?
This was kind of just an improv track.
This was kind of just an improv track a buddy of mine and I did.
A buddy of mine and I did, so I'm only half of this.
So I'm only half of this,
but it kind of gives you a little bit of a opening to kind of what sound we're
we're making melodic music using all organic analog instruments and yeah,
we'll start with that. And it's, it's kind of slow in the beginning,
but it picks up and it is nothing special, but something fun.
It'll be a little different for this space, but yeah, go for it.
Oh, I'm sure it is special.
And I'm looking through all of these, like, is it NFTs that are in here, all these images?
Yeah, most of those are not music, but a good number of them are just tracks that my SoundCloud kept rugging.
And I was like, you know what?
If they're on the blockchain, they'll never rug.
So I just minted a bunch of...
The imagery is really cool.
All right, so I'm going to tap on that
and we're going to see what happens.
Let's play. Thank you. Music Thank you. Music Thank you. so Music Music Music
I got a little twervy there then
I don't know you're not answering us yet
I'm going to stop it there You you just took me to another place man
yeah that was uh it kind of was ruggy the audio
audio wasn't perfect it's much cleaner but yeah that was cool being bombed i i love the hand drums
man um i don't have one personally but i've jammed out on them a couple times,
friends that had them, and it's like, you know,
not that I really know what I'm doing,
but they're definitely fun to tap into,
and I enjoy the music that comes out of them for sure.
So thanks for sharing, man.
Yeah, I didn't expect to hear the hand pans, and I thought it was badass.
Yeah, they're one of those things that you can just just kind of like take a journey on you know what I mean like like the music and just kind of
they're just um I don't know what to say about those frequencies I feel like it's
probably a 432 instrument or something it's like just got that tone that's nice to set into
I feel like you just grounded us off we're all grounded now i know what i'm listening to
next time i do shrooms i'm
yeah like listening to listening to yeah hand pads on shrooms or like
like wood flute music like dual chamber flute music shit like that like butterfly does
uh yeah i oh man i went to a festival once and i sat in this
geodesic dome full of gongs and i had eaten quite a lot of mushrooms that day i'm not gonna lie to
you but i sat in this geodesic dome full of gongs and it's like this sonic portal they call it and
like you spend a half an hour in there while they like hit the gongs and like play these frequencies
around you and like smash all the gongs in the geodesic dome anyway uh you know first of all i love getting gonged in or out of a show
my favorite man i love the gongs uh but i gotta say man that was a special performance uh meta
sequoia i really enjoyed that man it definitely brought that great vibe to the space dude. Thank you for bringing that
I definitely needed that and it kind of brought me away to a place. I haven't really been in a while. So thank you for that
Very cool guys, thanks so much for the feedback
I'm sitting here like amazed at all of you and I thought this was like super basic to throw on stage
But thank you that from the bottom of my heart all of you. And I thought this was like super basic to throw on stage. But thank you.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
Aw, thanks so much for coming through.
I remember when you came through like a month or so ago and you played live.
And I'm looking forward to hearing that again from you soon.
Hopefully you can get back home or, you know, be in a position where you can play for us.
But yeah, that song was really cool, man.
I look forward to hearing more from you yeah thank you absolutely i'll i'll uh i'll sit down
and play a guitar uh when i'm in the studio or i'll either guitar or piano is about all i can do
live yeah i think it was piano by heart yeah yeah it was piano last time but i'm i'm practicing
piano i'm practicing guitar i've been a drummer for years, but
Yeah, singing and and playing different instruments. It's kind of something new. So it's allowed me to be creative in its own way
But thank you guys. This is like the best space of the week hands down. Oh
Thank you so much. Appreciate you
Well, we're going to keep this thing moving.
So, Rabbit, I have you up next.
But real quick, I want to welcome, we're going to do this real quick,
We've got Cavelli White in the space.
And the reason why I'm shouting out Cavelli is because, number one,
because I fucking love Cavelli and I haven't talked to him in forever.
But also, Cavelli is doing a really cool t-shirt giveaway
that he has shared a post and the post is in the nest if you go back up and probably scroll a
little bit and I'll let him talk about it real quick but he's got a post going and if you tap
on it and you give the accounts in that post to follow which I think is me the t-shirt company
and himself and then what he's going to do is he's going to do a t-shirt giveaway um promoting his new album drop which is going to be i think on
october 3rd is what you said so he'll come back in to drop the mic next week um on the second
and then he will announce the winner so if you guys want to participate in that please go in the
nest find the post and get yourselves in there for the t-shirt giveaway. Hey, Kev Valley, how you doing, man?
Like you, you, you spit it like right on point.
No, but I'm so happy to be here.
And I came in like right when we was talking about the shrooms to like us to Sequoia's
And listen, we are on to something there because I remember tripping
out to like Andre 3K's flute album. And man, it was an incredible experience. So that was a great
tune. And I was glad I got to hear it, fam. And I just want to thank everybody up here and
definitely you, Cara, for letting me have this platform for my t-shirt giveaway. So all you have to do is
scroll up. She's already got it in the Jumbo Trine. It's to promote my album from the Ruta
to the Tuta. And all you have to do is follow all three parties and retweet the post and you're in
the giveaway. Awesome. Guys, so go ahead and do that. Please tap on participate.
And then we're going to announce the winners.
He's going to announce the winners next week on Thursday.
And, Cavalli, stick around because we do have other people in the queue.
But I do have the link that you sent to me.
And I would love to run one of your tracks.
But, guys, just so you know, at midnight, which is in about 28 minutes,
whatever it is that we're doing, we're going to stop this entire space
because Mella's new song is dropping.
And I'm going to look it up on Spotify.
Yep, and we're going to play that song.
We're going to play that song at midnight just so y'all know.
Speaking of bing bongs, rabbit.
It's going to be like New Year's.
Everyone get your, what are they, the party poppers?
Get ready to go out in the streets.
And fair warning, Jules is wearing a jockstrap, so it's not going to be his boss dropping.
Except for tonight, I'm wearing a jockstrap.
This is a new one for you guys and Adrian called me up late night
well I dream for the better day
And on and on and so and so
She keeps bringing up things don't wanna talk about
She keeps bringing up things don't wanna talk about
Then our mouths were filled
They'll ask their With laughter
There haste none, dear and none
But the sheep that was lost
Is the sheep that was mine And Adrian called me up late night on the telephone
Said, while I can't sleep, well I dream for the better day
And on and on and so and so
I loved it. I loved it, Rabbit.
The name of that song is Black Half.
I think that's what we need to do for a collab we
need to get like one of your originals and you just carry on the your guitar part and like get
sierra on there and then i do something behind it man love that vibe that was great dude
bro thanks yeah all day every day i've been uh writing a lot of new electric and acoustic pieces.
I've got some of it, kind of samples and stuff,
starting to get thrown into the lab there.
But I got a bunch more I'm ready to do.
I just got to sit down and commit to a full day of just
laying new music down for everybody to collab with.
Yeah, I love the tempo and the vibes to all your tunes, man.
That song was actually written for a friend of mine.
We lost a friend that was dear to us.
And I have another close friend that was struggling very much
with the loss of our friend.
So I wanted to write that tune to kind of lift him up
and encourage him to know that
he's got a friend here always and that no one's ever really alone.
That's amazing. I love that message so much, Rabbit. And appreciate you too. You are an
incredible talent and such an amazing energy. Like seriously, I can't believe it's been six months since you tuned in for your first space,
which was the space that I co-host with Flawed,
Cardano Night's open mic night.
That's the first time I saw you come in.
You're like, this is the first space that I'm sharing in,
I was like, holy shit, who is this?
You kept coming back, and here you are.
You've worked your way into the community.
You hosted a space the other night that was epic it was amazing and i just think that you're uh you're like a real true genuine authentic person appreciate you beautiful song oh thanks carrie
you know that means a lot to me coming from you and uh each and every person that's in this space
has uh become a pretty close friend to me and all of you are very special
this is a unique time we live in and I think we're all equally blessed to have each other for sure
absolutely social media the power of social media social media is to be social made so many friends
on this platform people that I actually call and talk to you because you do your social media thing
like as a profession or whatever I can't remember which conversation it was we had but you like
you like blew my mind a bit like like opened me up to like how I used social media because like
I was always kind of like one of those like I think I feel like I was like the last person to
like really give in or like you know what I mean like because it was just such really yeah like I
feel it was such a change for me like Like, when social media first came around, say, like, even, like, it was, like, the MySpace days when I was, like, first a thing.
And, like, I didn't get into it.
And then, like, even when, like, Facebook came around, I was like, Facebook?
I'm like, oh, I was like, really?
And then, like, yada, yada.
And then, finally, eventually, I came to X.
Like, I have to look at this account to see when I opened it but it was not really active on it even for like the first
year or two anyway so november 2021 i finally opened an account on x was when i opened this
account uh and it like took me a bit to like get into it like especially in in spaces but like
yeah it was definitely you and some of the conversations you had and just you know it
wasn't really necessarily disconnecting you can it is social you are connecting with people even though you're in
your device or whatever it is social like we're especially with spaces like we're gathering
and really socializing you know what i mean but yeah it was definitely you and how you like uh
there was one space specifically that you kind of like portrayed social media in a different way
that i viewed it because i was always viewing it as a way of like it was disconnecting me from people and not you know connecting me with new friends and
possibilities and opportunities and all these different things right like yeah so I was
definitely like last like I don't I've never had a following on anything really you know what I
mean it's never been a drive of mine but uh yeah no yeah because uh yeah and now i've met my best friends like
people who have my phone number and people like yeah you know what i mean so yeah i didn't even
know that this is news to me i'm wondering what's what space this was i'm an outdoors guy yeah it
was uh yeah yeah some space i was talking about social you just happened to be there that's cool
it was yeah i can't remember what space it was it was a while ago now it's like it was probably
i think it's like a year or two ago.
So I mean, you and I've known each other for like two and a half years.
Guys, social media is meant to be social.
That's why it's fucking called social media.
And it can be used for all kinds of bullshit, but it can be used for good stuff.
I have so many people that I've met on this app that I call like my best friends and I have their phone numbers and we talk on the phone
Yeah, alright, let's sometimes we leave each other wake-up calls
And then yeah, and that's the other thing is sometimes you get a phone number from a really cool person who was willing to call your ass in
The morning and give you a wake-up call as Stewie Griffin
Come on guys power of social
media is a beautiful thing at least i think it is and that's how i choose to use it yeah
like i always viewed it as as a disconnect you know what i mean no it's not now i view it as
connection and you know it's connection no yeah you should exactly uh i i actually have a space
uh doing just that Wednesday nights.
All of us were there last night.
Thank you guys for coming out too.
But yeah, connect, definitely.
And you know what's cool is that I found out through spaces that Sierra lives,
we're both from the same area.
So like her and I at some point it's gonna happen
girl we are going to meet up we are so pillow fight yeah and we're gonna yeah pillow fight
we're gonna be wearing melby merch we're gonna be we're gonna buy melby merch we're gonna write
yes like just that sell that as a video and you'll
oh my god we'll take a picture
and we'll post it and it's gonna be
Malibu merch but me and Sierra
I'm gonna make um I'm gonna make
onesies and you guys have to wear onesies oh that would be great oh let's go I'm, I'm going to make onesies, and you guys have to wear onesies.
Yeah, if you have a song that suits a pillow fight, and then we could do a music video
NFT with one of Mella's songs and you guys pillow fighting.
FYI, the pillow fight part's not actually happening, but the rest of it, I'm down for it.
Does she make you fight? Does she make you drive a Subaru?
Yeah, we'll drive in a Subaru.
That's for Jules and Chris.
So what we're going to do is, aw, Pugs dropped and, okay, cool.
I was like Rob Nichols and Slim, the boss.
I wanted to circle back to you and then go to Jen.
And then we want to get one from Covelli. We got Rocky up here.
And also, Danaya came back up too.
And guys, again, 12 o'clock, midnight, soon. Like what, 17 minutes or something?
We're going to run Melody's new single that is dropping.
Silly Games. We're going to do that. So, Rob Nichols and Slim.
You guys want to do another one
i see slim hold on let me get him i don't know what phone they're on guys they're together
they're together like somewhere in a car like fucking partying having high energy i don't know
what mic they're gonna be on but we got slim up here yes yes yes yes yes i'm sorry i'm sorry are
you are you in a sub. Are you in a Subaru?
Are you in a Subaru by chance?
Are you driving around a Subaru?
Anquiring minds want to know.
Am I driving around a Subaru?
I'm driving around in a Ram 1500 with the Hemi in it.
We're just we're just messing we're messing
Just kicking it without fam or whatever, you know Sam, but I just told him that I heard my name
So that conversation got to get cut off because we are here for drop the mic
because we are here for Drop the Mic,
you know what I'm saying,
Mella, your voice is so gorgeous.
Your voice is so gorgeous.
I would love for you to actually feature on something.
Maybe we can talk about that in the future, or whatever, but yes, your voice is so gorgeous. I would love for you to actually feature on something. Maybe we can talk about that in the future or whatever.
But yes, your voice is gorgeous.
I love the energy that you bring and everything in your music artistry and everything like that.
So I'm just kind of shooting the shit while Rob is still back there.

Hey, for a brief delude, I wanted to say, Cara, you need to cycle and not lose the space if we could.
I am actively texting Cara right now.
She is aware of the situation at hand.
She is aware of the situation at hand, but I don't think that she is able to do anything about it currently because I see her opening her mic and it seems to not be working.
All right, everybody hold hands.
Kara's going to do the thing.
