Hello, everyone, and welcome to Epochs End five seventy one. I hope you're doing well today.
We are going to be talking all things Cardano as we always do here, and everyone is
welcome to speak as always. It has been another five days here on the Cardano blockchain,
and of course, the epoch schedule is a snapshot schedule for Cardano mainnet,
which determines stake pool weights and all sorts of reward payouts and things of this nature.
If you're listening to the recording of the space, sorry you couldn't make it to join us live,
but we do it every five days, so we will be back next Monday at 1 p.m. Pacific Standard Time,
and yeah, we're just living the dream. If you enjoy the space, please consider delegating your ADA
to Weed Stake Pool, the sponsor of the space, and yeah, as of right now,
I'm just speaking to myself. But I'm sure there will be some friendly faces joining us shortly,
and there is a lot of news to cover from the last five days here on Cardano.
Everything from the crypto week hangover here in the USA, and ranging all the way
to some great new developments from grassroots homegrown Cardano projects,
as well as everything in between. A little bit of spicy drama, a little bit of Community building,
a little bit of project launches, NFT drops—we got it all here on Cardano.
We even have the sexiest topic of them all: governance. Hey, I see a friendly face
joining here—the one and only, the incomparable, the majestic, the angelic, Spentron.
No pressure to speak, Spentron, but you are welcome, sir. I. Saw a couple of your posts from
the last five days, made a an impression on me. I do have some questions for you,
but no pressure if you're just listening in today. That's okay too. Appreciate you popping in. Um,
if anybody is interested, Weed Stakepool did have a very great epoch. Three blocks,
a new delegateer joining us. It's all good news so far, people. We're just riding this wave of joy
and love as it breaks along the shoreline of paradise. And uh. Without further ado,
let's bring in my buddy Spentron. Hello, sir. Happy Epoch end. Thank you for joining. Yeah,
happy Epoch end, Van. Just chilling. Happy win. Happy hump day. Yep. How's your week going so far?
How's your Epoch? How's your Epoch been? I should say. Epoch has been good. Good Epoch. Let's see.
It was on Friday. It was on Friday last. Yes, correct. Yeah, Friday till today.
So let's say Levy Testnet V3 went live. So I set up like a testnet wallet and stuff and.
Like did that for the first time. That was kind of fun on testnet on Eternal,
and kind of did some bug fixing with their new app. So you know, I felt like a Cardano pioneer.
Look at you. Since it's just you and I here, could you tell me you had a really nice post about?
I mean, you've you've been posting about Levy and and Angel and all these things for a while now,
and I'm very interested. I just have been kind of recalibrating, refocus certain things, but.
I think it's time for me to dive in. I was just I was thinking for all the people listening in
here today and and myself. What what is the, I mean what is the brief concise pitch that hooked you
into Levy, and and why do you think it's a good platform to engage with, if you don't mind? Yeah,
Levy as a lending and borrowing protocol, it's very unique compared to most every other lending
and borrow protocol you'll find. It's structured in a way where Lenders are compensated for
providing a high amount of value for not as much collateral, so higher loan to value ratios. So,
you know, they'll put up a thousand ADA for eleven hundred ADA's worth of SNAC. You know,
it's a very very tight loan to value ratio. You don't see that in other lending
and borrowing protocols. So, you see a lot of more type of volume on that, and they take higher fees
because of those kind of borrowers. It's kind of like a borrower's paradise, you know.
They get the most for their money, so they take a little bit more fees than other lending
and borrowing protocols. And what they do is Angel Finance. They took it over from Taz last summer,
and they pretty much have. It's not even the same code as when they bought it,
and so it's a completely new platform, even though you couldn't really tell on the front face, but.
So now they share, they revenue share all the ADA they get in fees in a seventy five
twenty five percent split. So twenty five percent keeps the protocol running and keeps the devs,
you know, fed for whatever. And then seventy five percent of the fees goes airdrops every month
to the angels holders proportionally to how many you hold that aren't in smart contracts. So, like
Angel Finance originally started as like a passive income DeFi play on Cardano,
where they're raising money and then they're using those ADA that they raised inside
of the ecosystem in like LP farming in like the top Cardano native tokens that have a ton of volume,
so that they earn fees on. They also use ADA that they raised inside of Levy,
so they're kind of like double dipping. So they are lending on more conservative
but healthy LTVs inside of Levy. So they provide liquidity. So they kind of double dip on taking
the fees for lending the ADA plus the fees that the protocol gets. So that's
kind of a really big boost since they kind of ran out of money rebuilding Levy after Changbang
and Nick extorted them. And so they had to rebuild it all and kind of drain their treasury
to do that. And now they're building probably one of the most code intense lending
and borrowing protocols on Cardano. And they're currently under audit with Anastasia Labs.
And I'm fucking bullish as fuck. And I don't know. Hope that answered the question. Oh yeah,
that was beautiful. And yeah, whatever happened to Nick? You're talking about what was his handle on
on X? It was he changed it. He was Avatar Nick, and then he changed it to like Cardano Nick
or something. Because you know, who wants to have that reputation of extorting a project on Cardano
and then trying to work here? Yeah, and then how did that happen? What was the? I mean,
I know you weren't like on the inside of that necessarily, but how how do you understand from
from your understanding what what happened with that again? So when the first chain hard fork
came to pass, a lot of the DApps on chain broke. Right. There wasn't a lot of documentation,
or at least the DApps weren't well enough prepared. Avatar Nick had promised the team
that they were prepared for Changbang, but it was a setup. It was he knew it wasn't prepared.
He knew it was going to go down, and then he created a copy site, a copycat website that was
a quote unquote lending and borrowing aggregator, but alls it was was a lookalike Levy site.
And since he built Levy, he knew that it was an off-chain indexing code that was used for
all these loans. So this is getting technical, but you have to understand this part to understand
that he's a terrible human being and should never walk the place on Cardano again.
So he he knew that Changbang was going to fuck up Levy. Then he he extorted them by saying,
"You have to give me the entire GitHub repo, all the domain access, so I have full power.
You don't have any power of it now, and I'll fix your problem. But if you don't do that,
I'm not going to help you, and I'm leaving." So, not only did he say the app was going to be ready
for Changbang, but when he knew it was going to break, he then extorted them for full access
to the GitHub repo. So, and and he had been and he had been working on Levy at that point through
the Ape Society, which you referred to earlier as Taz. Is that correct? Yeah, that is correct.
And they wanted Nick to stay on, but what they didn't know, and what Taz probably knew,
was Nick was a piece of shit. To work with as a project because he would never do his job.
And during that summer when Nick was supposed to be working on Levy, and we did get updates,
but it was mostly it wasn't Nick who was doing him. It was really the front end developer we had
who unfortunately passed away. Right. Yes. That's yeah. So so they were playing catch up
essentially, and he was withholding, maybe kind of lying by omission. Would you say? Oh,
he one hundred percent was lying by omission, and then he tried to call foul on the team
because they didn't, you know. It was wow. It was probably one of the worst experiences I've seen on
Cardano being a part of a project, and I've seen project founders die after the mint, you know,
or whatever. Like this is this was top tier illegal, and I honestly think he should he could have
legal repercussions. I mean, they sent him a cease and desist letter because he created a new app
that was a look like that fucked up millions and millions of TVL of ADA
that they couldn't get unlocked because of his problem. So it's just oh man,
that shit was that shit was wild. That was like the that was wild times. Yeah, I mean,
I'm I'm I don't want to like I'm not in a position to decide who's guilty and who's not,
but it's usually not a good sign when somebody revamps their whole social media presence
after you know what I mean. It's usually not a sign of innocence if it's like hey, I'm innocent,
but also I'm going to totally rebrand and change my crypto Twitter identity
and also never never post again seven months yeah seven months and the team that is still here
is still working and posting constantly. So there's your answer. Yeah, wow. I mean, yeah, he.
I mean, it's it's especially interesting because he was uh. I mean, he was—he was pretty active,
you know. And then all of a sudden, it's just radio silence. Yeah, that's—that's never a good,
good sign. I—I wasn't aware of all that. Thank you, Spentron. Of course, that's your perspective.
You know, he's not here to defend himself, but oh, I will walk. I will literally throw shit at Nick
if he's not here. He's probably one of the worst humans I've ever interacted with in Web3.
So he doesn't need to defend himself. He never will because there's nothing to defend.
He tried to extort a good team and a community and locked up millions of ADA and said, "You
either give me your code." Base or you fucking go fuck off. I mean, there's nothing which which
the code base that they had just bought, right? I mean, they had just purchased it from
the Ape Society Incubation Project, and then so then he's like, hey, I want that shit for free.
I want access to it for free. Yeah, that's not only access for it. He wants to control it
so that he would get the levy fees, which he actually stole levy fees for a week period of time.
Wow, because you know he was editing the code and shit when he did have access to it. So, anyways,
yeah, that's there's nothing to defend there. And the reason he's not here anymore is because he's
guilty as fuck. That's just the truth. Well, and and Spentron so. On on the Levy side,
I want to get involved. I want to participate on the platform, and I want to earn fees.
What what is the first step that someone would take if if if they were in that position?
The the current iteration that's on NameNet is like I don't know whatever your favorite top tokens
are. Maybe it's Strike, Iagon, Snack, Bodega, Flow, whatever. And then you can go to Levy,
and if you're like looking to accumulate more tokens or just earn like a higher interest
if someone takes your loan. You just go to one of your favorite tokens.
You look on the site on Levy. You find the token that you want to lend ADA on,
or particularly like accumulate more of, and then see if there's a LTV ratio
that you you'll you know put some ADA as a peer-to-peer loan in the system. So, you know,
in more volatile times when prices go up or down in tokens on Cardano,
that's when you'll see a lot more volume on the on the token on Levy. So. I mean,
if if you're kind of watching any charts or one chart in particular, I would always check Levy
before any trades because sometimes you can get free ADA on Levy because the LTVs will be 105%
if a token drops really quick, and you can you can just go get an extra 5% ADA over the market value
on the current Dex price. So it's like free money, you know. So you really should be checking Levy
before and after any trade. Just to see if you can increase your bag sizes even more,
you you just leverage your position so well as a borrower, but as a lender, you just earn
super high APYs. And if you default, which happens a lot with the two weeks loan periods,
you actually sometimes earn a lot more percentage wise. I've I've had a two x on multiple loans
that have defaulted. I don't know why the user didn't repay them, but he didn't have the ADA,
so I foreclosed and then I sold those tokens for two times the ADA he borrowed from me. And so,
like you know, you just got to play and play to win in those type of situations,
and and and eventually you just kind of get good at learning, you know, how to be safe and not safe.
Because eventually, you know, you don't you don't win every trade, but as long as you're
happy to accumulate those tokens at those LTVs, you're not really losing. You're just, you know,
you're accumulating tokens you want, if they default, or you earn the high API. So, for example,
on I'm looking at the site right now, which is very visually appealing and and well organized.
We're talking about Levy. Fi, by the way, for anyone who's just joining us.
It says for Angels tokens. The APY is one hundred and forty-five percent. I mean,
that's pretty insane, right? I mean, we're talking about, like you were saying. I mean,
you're on an on an annual basis. You're you're more than doubling your money. Is that? I mean,
am I misreading this? Or I know it's fourteen day duration, but Yeah, it's it's a if you get
one loan per year on Levy on one of those fourteen days, you get more ADA than your entire years
of staking rewards on Cardano. And while you're lending ADA on Levy, that ADA stays attached to
your stake key and your DREP, so you still retain that voting power of that ADA until that loan
is taken. So you'll continue. You're still getting the staking rewards every epoch if that loan
is still sitting there to be taken, which is one of the best features of Levy, in my opinion.
How is that sustainably possible, though? I mean, how could you? How is that possible to sustain?
I mean, that obviously it's coming from fees, but that's that's just impressive. I mean,
it's hard to even. One hundred and forty-five percent is pretty unheard of, right,
in terms of lending and borrowing, from what I understand. Yeah, and that's the the borrower
is paying that, so it's not like levy or the team. So if the borrower has that API
and they borrow a thousand ADA and they gotta pay three or four percent back, you know,
they're paying thirty or four to forty ADA on top of that ADA they borrowed to get their collateral
unlocked. So sometimes it's the maybe that little extra interest that they don't end up having
enough data for to cover back that loan, and then all of a sudden you're up ten
or fifteen percent on a default, and that happens pretty frequently, especially with D gens
who trade in and out of positions trying to level up or leverage up some of their positions.
It doesn't always work out, and they they default. Wow, that's incredible. Yeah,
we're talking about Levy Finance right now, everybody. If you haven't checked it out,
it's a project that has followed a winding path that has had obstacles and pitfalls, and yet.
We've got Spentron here sharing his personal story of of success with this platform,
and you've been championing it for a long time. And I've been keeping an eye on it,
and yet I have not really, and I'm embarrassed to say that I haven't fully dived in.
So I think this epoch is the epoch where I need to make these wrongs right, and I need to really,
really get my my hands-on experience going with Levy. I see DeFi Fomo Muffos here as well.
Happy epoch, sir. Everybody's welcome to speak. By the way, guys, happy epoch end.
We're talking all things Cardano. Everybody's welcome. We have Street Pooper here with from one
of his many, many accounts that he has, which he seems to shuffle through. How are you,
Street Pooper? Welcome, sir. Happy epoch end. Yeah, it's absolutely fine. Yeah. How are you?
No complaints, man. Just, just living the dream. Yeah, I'm living a dream, also. You know,
moving on the dream. Amazing. Yeah. Hi, Srintran. I see you. You know, fighting Cardano. Sporting,
arbitrary labs. What the hell is going on? You are taking some kind of, you know,
Charles derangement syndrome, right? Yeah, that's the term CDS. You become a CDS. Let's, uh,
street pooper. You know, you brought up atrium. I think is what you said, and I did see
that Spentron. You had some, some choice words in a in a in a tweet about atrium.
You my you mean my sarcastic response in a tweet that I that I put up? Yeah, yeah. I mean, maybe
if if uh. Maybe you could give us a little more context of of what you think of. I mean, you know,
atrium is. I'll happily do it. I didn't know it was going to blow up as much as it did this morning,
but I was waiting for someone else to say it for a couple days, and nobody did. And I heard.
Could you just give us a little a little like intro to atrium too, if anybody?
I'm sure everybody in here is aware of what it is, but maybe just in case anybody doesn't know.
I'm honestly not even a hundred percent sure to tell you what it is, but I know
that they have created smart contracts, or at least been funded for smart contracts
that are called baskets, and it allows people to to delegate their ADA to multiple stake pools
at once to split it up. And so, like the point was to help decentralization
and help move stake around to smaller SPOs. And then it seems like it took on like a socialfy
dynamic, and then I think it had some educational things in there. So it was
kind of like supposed to be a Cardano hub for like information and and all things Cardano, I guess.
And the socialFi thing is kind of, I think the marketing that I'm seeing now is as
the main marketing push, at least since the launch. I believe it was yesterday or the day before.
Yeah, they you need to quote mint a profile to get full access to the DApp that Catalyst funded with
1.4 million ADA. And so, and and what do you think of this, Benstrom? What was the what was
the the core issue, I guess, that you you felt with this this rollout and what you've seen?
I think it's it's not even big pay or atrium like they just did what they did to get the money
that was there so like you can't even fault them for doing it but it's just like raising awareness
that 1.5 percent of all catalyst money that's ever been dispersed in Cardano's history was to build
this atrium app that launched the other day and the guy who launched it is telling
the Cardano community that they have to mint a user profile to get access to the app that
they just funded with 1.4 million ADA. Like that is kind of a joke, and it's one
of the more grifty things I've seen in this space. Why would you ask a Cardano community that
you need to use your product that they paid you to build to pay you more money to even access it?
To be honest, that is like one of the most backwards things I've ever seen in Catalyst.
And then when I actually ran the numbers today and I saw how much money he's gotten,
1.5% of all Catalyst money in the history of Cardano has gone to Atrium Labs for this Atrium product
that doesn't even have a mobile extension to it. It's desktop only, and the staking baskets aren't
even live on the website. And this motherfucker is telling me I got to mint something to use it
after he took all that money. Well, and and and just just to play devil's advocate, Spentron,
I mean, there's nothing specifically in the Catalyst process that says you can't accept
Catalyst funding and then also charge for features on the project that you then right. I mean,
it's I'm sure he can do whatever he wants. I mean, it's not like there's any rules on blockchain
that anybody can really enforce, anyways. It's just the fact that Catalyst is getting funded over
and over again, and we want to help small builders. But this guy has multiple stake pools,
has been bootstrapped since the beginning of Cardano, has 1.4 million in Catalyst,
and he's still asking for more money. And don't don't forget. There's
a liquidity bootstrapping event happening in the next week or couple weeks,
where he's going to ask everybody in Cardano to put their money together for a new token
for this platform that we just spent 1.4 million ADA building. It's hilarious. It's
about a million dollars right now, right? I mean, that guy name is Big P, so he's getting
big pay on the transfer. You get it? That was a good. His name? Yeah. Now we get it. That was good.
Yeah, and again, just to play devil's advocate, you know, big pay for full context is
is probably one of the you know up there with you know Rick McCracken and certain kind
of YouTube content creators who really have expanded the you know I mean they
they've definitely onboarded lots of people and their stake pools have become successful
in large part due to just the raw number of people they've onboarded and he got all the reason
for no he got all the reason for charging you for the fees because fees you know you have to pay
five or six million dollars for the lawsuit we all know that. So his name is Big Pay,
and he also mentioned that in his name. So it's it's it's you know predictable to scam you.
You know it's absolutely predictable, bro. So no blame to Big Pay because his name is Big Pay,
and he's creating Big Pay out of nothing day by day, huh? Again and again and again over and over.
And Big Pay is not here to defend himself, so you know. Let's just focus on Atrium,
and and I personally haven't gotten to use the platform yet. I haven't haven't done a deep dive.
I went to the website and checked it out, but I didn't. So if anybody has
firsthand experience with Atrium, positive, negative, whatever it may be, feel free to come
and speak and share your perspectives. But yeah, I mean, I I did see some.
It almost seemed Spentron like I I saw your post in the timeline, and then once I saw your post, uh,
over the next you know day, I I felt like I I saw a lot more people kind of echoing your sentiments.
And to be honest, I haven't really seen a ton of positive, like people saying, "Oh, I just used it
and it's great." And here's what I, you know, I saw a couple, you know, positive,
but I definitely think there was a kind of a little bit more negativity on the timeline,
at least for me, than than positivity for Atrium. But you know, only time will tell.
One epoch at a time. You know, it just launched on mainnet, so you know the future will be
interesting for this this platform. You know, Big Pay is one of the the OG, if you want to use
that that phrase, not only influencer but developer, stake pool operator. Content creator,
you know he's pretty enmeshed with the history of of Cardano at this point. So, part of me,
you know, I do want to give the guy the the benefit of the doubt and see if, you know,
they can really produce something that not only engages ADA holders and Cardano, you know,
enthusiasts now, but can actually onboard and bring in new people. So,
holding out hope that that that happens, and I'm just going to reserve judgment on the platform
itself until I actually can get more hands-on time with it. But thank you, Spentron
and Street Pooper, for your Your perspectives—they—they're illuminating, as always.
I see KB Curry has joined us as a speaker. Hello, KB Curry. How are you? Happy. Hey, what's up,
guys? Happy boxing. How you doing? I was just good. I was just coming up to like.
I I fully understand what you're saying, Sventron, and I fully agree. I think
it's fucking crazy to just keep giving this guy money in general. It's wild.
It's like people give Lido shit for all the catalyst. I mean, he's taken, but Jesus,
if you haven't figured out it's a grift by now, shocker! I don't know what to tell you.
What is the grift though? Because that's kind of a loaded term, right? Like,
what is what is the grift here? What what would you say is the actual characteristic that puts this
into grift? So the first time, I mean, one point yeah, one point five percent of catalyst
and still paying for your profile essentially feels like a grift to me. Minting a token at pre-sale.
Not as I mean everybody does a token, but I remember Atrium being pitched as like I'm going to get
all these old people to invest in ADA and they can just do it easily through Atrium,
and I was like that sounds great. Go target the old people. I'm already here. It's like usability,
accessibility. Yeah, I think he's talking to the wrong crowd about it. Those people will pay for it,
you know, if you pitch it to them in the right way. So I don't know. I liked that.
That sounded good to me, but I guess it's something else now. And I don't mean to harp on this,
but I mean again, there is nothing explicit, and the the only thing that's against the rules
in Catalyst is to take Catalyst funding and then use it for things that were not specified in
your proposal, right? So like if you're getting funded and then you're like, oh, we're pivoting,
we're doing this whole new thing now with this funding that we were given under these
you know conditions, and we're using it for this now. That to me is pretty egregious.
But I I haven't seen anything like that with Atrium. I'm not saying that hasn't happened,
but I don't think it was ever explicitly said. Oh, we're not gonna ever charge
or have any type of you know fees on Atrium. I mean, you know what I mean? It's it's like.
The grift term gets a little sticky at that point. Man, I put up a post of the Jumbotron.
Cat put a nice little comment on that post today, and she said that she had looked through some
of the staking basket catalyst fund proposals that had each been funded in each different fund:
eleven, twelve, thirteen, fourteen. Pretty much all the same things. Wow,
and they all get milestones approved in the same ones, and it's all being requested by
the same person. And I think that's what he's kind of saying. Like, that's the grift.
It's that it's not even that it's wrong, and that he can't do it.
He can totally one hundred percent do it. It's like Catalyst is set up to promote big bags
and big entities when that's not what it was intended to do. Why does Big Pay need money
to bootstrap himself? The guy gets bootstrap Polenti. You know, you're basically saying he's like
the he's the opposite of the kind of profile of the. He's been a stake pool operator for how long?
And like he was a multi pool operator for how long? And Like, you know, if you know,
he does a lot of different things, which is great. I think we all should focus a little more,
like in general. You see people trying to do too many things at one time.
I've been guilty of it at times in my life, but yeah, I agree. Like, yeah, catalyst over and over
and over again for the same thing is pretty pretty wild to me. Well, and okay, so you know, again,
I know I'm being obnoxious here, but you know, it is. Is it? Are we saying going forward
that catalyst should not be used to fund any? Person who has developed previous,
whether it's stake pools or content or things like that that have generated revenue for them,
like Spentron said, if it's the same, essentially the same proposals getting funded in
multiple rounds. Yeah, and unfortunately, we live in this proof of stake system
where nobody who has bags who needs these grant monies is going to say anything to rock the boat
because eventually down the road they're going to need those big bags to upvote their proposals
to get free grant money, and that is the the the wicked system that I think we have here
with Catalyst, and that its intention was great when it started, but now it's turned into a scratch
my back, I scratch your back, quid pro quo type of thing, and that's how we end up with results
like we do with this. It's like big bags appeasing other big bags for future big bag sustainment.
Yeah, and Van, if we can like move from, it's not you know like Pay can do whatever he wants.
You know, I've never met the guy. I don't know the guy. He's probably a really nice dude.
I don't think he's like a probably a bad person. You know, he just plays the game in a different way
that I think is the right way to do. But he's a very catalyst is like in person. Yeah, yeah.
Catalyst is like the structure of catalyst is the issue. So I think there's a proposal.
I'm not a D rep. I pay attention to things, and it's there's a socius proposal
for like a catalyst kind of kind of alternate, which is they said it's quadratic funding.
I read through it, and I think it's like translated from Japanese, kind of weird.
So it's like reading it is kind of hard in English to like understand the whole point.
But I've seen they want to use quadratic funding, and where how I've seen that done in Ethereum is
where there's a protocol called Gitcoin. If anybody else knows it. And they have a pool of money
that's allocated to a round, right? Just like Catalyst, but instead of voting with
your voting power, like in Ada, like we doing, or do like we do in Catalyst,
you have to pay to vote. So. What it what it does for every the first dollar you donate,
you get matched with like a hundred dollars from that pool. If you donate two dollars, you get
ninety nine dollars from that pool, matched to yours, and it goes up. So it incentivizes a broader
like voting with smaller amounts of money and allocating your money that way among more projects.
Just to limit the influence of whales. Yeah. Yeah. So if you have big bags of Ada, then yeah,
it'll limit the whales, and I think that's what you know most of the participants want.
I don't really participate in it because. It feels like my vote doesn't matter at times in Catalyst,
because I'm not a whale at all. Yeah. Well, but we do have like it's still fun,
still pushing forward with other things. Like there's many ways to get involved and and do
different stuff. If we do have a whale, it's totally fun. Um, you know,
if if you want to give us the whale perspective on this big bag, if you if you're a big bagger,
give us the the rich person's perspective on Catalyst, please. We we got we got enough of us uh
regular folks. But they they call us shrimps. Yeah, little shrimps, little little prawns.
We have I'm a bee, baby, and a potato. We we have homeless Lander who has joined us as a speaker
and is waiting patiently. Happy Epochs and homeless, how are you? It's the same guy, bro.
What What is going on with you, dude? What What is with you creating all these accounts?
It's ridiculous. Yeah. It's like a compulsion with you, dude. It's unhoused, man. Unhoused.
Sometimes you know. Sometimes profile is banned immediately, bro. Immediate. I'll create profile
and it get banned like ten minutes. You're crazy, man. Well, hey, let's talk about some spice here.
We're all just kind of having a love fest. I'm just kidding. We were just talking about spicy stuff,
but um, it looks like Cardona Whale took his ball and went home officially.
I know I'm not supposed to think that it's funny and entertaining. I'm supposed to be sad,
but what do we think about this? Looks like Charles made Whale completely rage quit this last week.
No. Both are sucks, bro. You know, I don't like both of them. You know, even the Katano Woods guy,
he's a, you know, he's a great asky. Everybody knows that. He always lied to people. You know,
he's the main reason because of all the force. You know, I told you, you know, the drama.
The Charles can avoid that drama, bro, with the Fred Koval. But you know,
the you know the Koval guy, you know, trigger him all, all the time behind the scene.
I can sense that. He's the main reason behind all this nonsense. I'll say, you know,
I always I loved our back and forth with Wells that I've had over the years.
He's a very smart Cardano account that did so much promoting for smaller projects on Cardano,
and that is what I think is going to be missed the most going into the bull run.
Is we don't have a whale account that actually promotes projects on Cardano. Like that,
those shoes can't be refilled. You know, no one has the type of marketing power that that account
did, and. And now we're left with not being able to have that going into a bull run.
Like that sucks. That's the the hardest part, you know. Despite whatever you think about Whale
and his ideas and what he said and everything else, like that account marketed Cardano more
than any other account on Cardano, more than Charles, in my opinion, because of the ecosystem that
Whale was a part of. That's that's what I'm really sad we're gonna miss. Yeah,
but we were already used to that, right? I mean, we were already we had already kind of crossed
that bridge. I thought now he was just serving as a D rep. He posts on chain, you know.
And Dave don't have money, bro. And Dave, yeah, you cannot earn money with the Dave. You know,
it's like a charity and lots of work. So basically, he just, you know,
he just need a reason to quit these stupid things, you know, because he is
he is not getting paid from Charles, you know. So it's it's just changing the business,
and he just sick tired of all this shit. Yeah, he just. So this, for a little context,
his rationale that he put on chain, which which got a rise out of Charles, it it was, he said.
I have since decided to no longer support the input-output proposals, which would potentially leave
significantly more space to upvote other things. While I may therefore exercise
slightly more flexibility, I nevertheless still aim to keep approved treasury spending
extremely low, as I think that's ultimately in the best interest of Ada holders.
We're in a place where the founding entity has not delivered much for years. It's a big statement,
and is requesting obscene amounts of funds to keep the same show of non-delivery going.
If we reject them and seek out new developers, it is my conviction that Cardano can see
a growth spurt, and other shops will be able to deliver far more and better results
for far more reasonable amounts. Currently, we may be lacking these entities
amongst requested funds, but this is an open invitation for all to get involved.
This is a generic rationale I will leave behind for all proposals that I vote on. If I upvote it,
that likely means it is a cost—it is cost-efficient, high-impact proposal
that will help move Cardano forward. Yeah, it's all drama. But then he deactivated his D rep status,
right? So he's not even that does that account doesn't even have like well,
that's what's so interesting. So he posted that as a D rep after publicly saying I'm I'm taking down
my social media presence because I'm absorbing too much toxicity and pushback for my opinions,
specifically as related to Charles Hoskinson's social media presence, and then.
He this goes kind of viral a couple days ago, and from what I understand,
Charles does a live stream video responding to this, which I didn't get the chance to watch.
And then it seemed like almost within hours of that, and again, please correct me if I'm wrong,
but then people start tweeting out that Whale has unregistered. So it's like, I mean,
I'm I'm just confused. Did Whale think that doing this was going to, uh, you know,
was was this going to be appreciated by Charles? I mean, he's essentially saying Charles is
a scammer. Honestly, I mean, to me, that's what that statement from his. He's saying, "Look,
they're just soaking up money and they're not delivering." Which, personally,
I don't think is accurate at all. But Dan, can I ask your opinion on the Treasury withdrawals
and them all being placed at 50 cent ADA, and nobody wants to talk about the excess cream
off the top that everybody's taking? I've got a quick just observation. Charles is Charles,
and Pay always gets interviews with Charles, no matter what. All the time, so I don't know.
I'm just what is what is that? Yeah, you all you all are gamers, bro. Hey, by the way, guys,
Pay has been here since incentivized testnet, right? I know I'm playing devil's advocate a lot,
but it's not like he just showed up and Charles goes, "Hey, you're my buddy.
" It's like he's been he was there in the trenches. Yeah, he's been doing it for a long time.
Exactly. Yeah, I mean, so that he earned some some you know some sway with Charles through that. No,
yeah. What can I put all the money on the Celsius on the week? Better. Look okay so
and and for the the the aspect. I'll ask. Sorry, go ahead. I was gonna say about Wales,
like that's fine. I think you know, like essentially, I think that's like Wales' political opinion.
Um, in some way, you know, they don't like how a person is acting. They don't like
how they're representing the community, disagreeing on certain things. And I think that's like a,
I don't know. Well, whale too. It's weird to then D rep like to then register as D rep.
It feels like that's kind of like a blockchainish political thing. And I want to also add, you know,
in a decentralized governance that's on, let's say, training wheels, you know,
everyone has the right to, you know, defend their companies and all this other stuff
from whatever other D rep is doing. But when you're the top, influencing
and founder that's saying that he's not going to participate in governance,
and then anyone who goes against you in governance is then immediately Put up on you know on
death row, pretty much on the live stream. But that was happening. Yeah, completely.
That doesn't that doesn't create any opposing voices and governance, which we need
those diverse voices, whether you agree with them or not. So I do think that he had the right
to like say what he did about his company, but I I think that the outcome is not what we want.
Really, like we don't want people. This is what we're trying to escape, right? In a certain way,
like this is the emotion I want to escape. No, and that's understandable. But but again,
Whale didn't say, hey, I disagree with the the approach and the presentation of certain things.
He said, look, the the IOG is soaking up insane amounts of money
and they're not delivering anything, and I think we need to essentially get them out of here
and bring in new voices. And then he's upset that Charles doesn't like that. I mean,
that's like spitting in someone's face and then playing the victim when you when they go, hey,
what the fuck is your problem? What's what's your deal? I mean, and again,
Whale has every right to voice that opinion. And I wish he was a D rep.
I have no problem with Whale at all. It's just I'm a little confused
how he could possibly not expect a reaction from Charles. You know what I mean?
When he's literally calling him out directly, and he has every right to,
and Charles has every right to respond. In my opinion, it's just it's surprising
that there seems to be this like streak of governance sensitivity, right?
And it's like we're not on a playground, you know, on the jungle gym, swinging
and on the monkey bars playing around. This is like real life shit here.
And if you call somebody out directly on chain, saying essentially again that they're scamming,
I mean, that's essentially what he said in a very nice verbose way, or at the very least is like
almost, you know, I mean, it's egregiously inefficient. You know, you have every right to say that,
and I support everybody in here. If you have that opinion, I'm not. I'm not here to knock that down.
It's just like, why? How could you possibly be surprised that there would be a reaction to that?
Especially like we were talking about, where you're a very large voice in Cardano. You know,
it's it's just. I think I'm confused. I think what what happened, if I, you know,
I don't think it was Charles' initial video that maybe did it. I think that definitely was like
the dam breaking. I think what did it was every account down the list on top influencer accounts
decided to jump on whale at the same time Charlie did after his video,
and that that really gets to a human, whether you're just an anon person or not.
He's not even on social media though. I mean, again, how does he know? So imagine,
imagine you're a top, you're the top influencer account on Whale, and you have Steak with Pride,
you have Yoda, and all these top influencer accounts you've been following them for years.
And the moment you do something on chain that they didn't like, they just jump down your throat
and like throw it all away. And I think that's, I don't know, maybe I'm just interpreting that,
but I think that kind of happened, and that would that would make me just be like, all right,
fuck it, I'm out. You know, just like maybe you know, I I don't know. I'm not saying he's right
or wrong. I actually don't like his response at all. I thought it was a terrible response,
and it didn't make sense to what he had previously said. So I was confused by it. But yeah,
I don't think piling on somebody when they're when they've just been livestreamed by Charles is
the right way to keep them like you know in the echo. So I think that probably had a little bit more
to do with it than people think. And that's fair. But I mean, again, if if Cardona Whale
doesn't have an X account, how is he even being dogpiled on? I mean, it's like
I I don't even understand this dynamic. He goes off social media so that he can kind of have a pure.
Undisturbed perspective on Cardano governance as a D rep, then he votes as a D rep with a rationale,
does a good job, you know, states his position, and then gets attacked on social media
where he's supposedly not present, and then immediately unregisters,
thereby basically disenfranchising at least temporarily everyone who is supporting him. And again,
this is a guy who supposedly isn't on social media, so now it's like he's like Kevin Durant, right?
If you're an NBA fan, you know it's like so he has burner accounts and he's tracking what all these.
It's like Whale, what are we doing here? What are we doing here, buddy? Yeah, I hear you on that.
And and I'm saying, I'm not saying, you know, again, I'm not trying to demonize him at all.
I'm just, I don't, I'm very confused. Partly because Whale seemed to be a very thoughtful,
intelligent person, and I'm sure he is. I mean, I'm sure he is way smarter than me,
and so that's that's part of my confusion. It's just like, what, where, what is the motivation?
What's going on here? And yeah, I wish he was here on social media to give us more insight
into what's going on. It's kind of disappointing that he's not here to tell us what what
he's thinking. You know, I I just don't see the point. And also, he's an anonymous account, right?
So it's like. Nobody knows who Whale is, right? So it's like you can say whatever you want. I mean,
I don't know. I know we're all sensitive people. It doesn't feel good to get called out,
but if you're a D rep who is going to directly go straight at not only a founding entity
but the tip of the spear for Cardano development and say, "Hey, you haven't delivered anything
in years," which I mean, again, just seems quantifiably untrue, right? Yeah. Anyways, you know,
shout out to Whale. Hopefully, he's not. Hopefully, he comes back and registers as a D rep again.
It's just unfortunate series of events. And we should disagree. That's that's my main thing is like.
The whole point of what we're doing here is because we all have different opinions on stuff.
That's the whole point of why we need Voltaire and governance, and that's
why we want to do it on chain, is because we disagree. We're adults, right? And it's like,
it's just frustrating to see disagreements lead to immediate, kind of, disillusionment
and and all these like these frustrations. It's like no, no, no. This is how the system
is supposed to work, and the fact that Charles feels compelled to react to Whale is really
just a sign of, almost not a sign of respect, but it's almost a sign that. Whale has a large voice,
and his opinion matters, right? Like, if Charles didn't think his opinion mattered,
he wouldn't have responded. I would love to be able to talk a little shit
and get Charles to respond. If I said I think Charles isn't delivering, he'd be like,
"Who gives a shit what Weed Pool thinks or Epoch Zen thinks?" You know what I mean? So it's like,
in a way, I'm almost kind of jealous of of Whale. I'm like, "Damn, dude,
he like spins up a live video just to talk shit on you. Like, that's what a high honor,
what what what high praise? I mean, could a d rep ask for anything more? Like,
that's some rock star shit to me. It for real, it is. That's like full internet celebrity. Yeah.
Andy doesn't even have a social media account, so it's like, dude, you got off social media
and you're you're rocking shit on DRep status on chain, and you got the whole hornet's nest whipped
up, and that's a fifteen-minute YouTube video, baby. Yeah, I mean, it's like, how is that an L?
It's like the biggest W I've ever seen, and and yet he's like, oh, unregistering, I'm out of here,
taking my ball, going home. Yeah, that's not a good look. It would have been, you know, you know,
stick by your stance, take take it on the on the chest. If you felt you're wrong, come out
and say it. If not, then stick by your stance, and like we all move on. But you know,
everyone has the right to do whatever. And eventually, I think the shoes of Whale,
if he doesn't come back, which I hope he does, will be filled by some other people because this is
a decentralized ecosystem that is ever growing and won't stop, with or without one of us.
So that's kind of the beauty of it, even though it's not always great. Well,
and we can we can kind of wrap it up with this, unless anybody else. You know,
everybody's welcome to speak, guys. If you have opinions on the Whale D rep fiasco,
and but just to say too that we should disagree, right? It's okay to disagree, and.
When when people disagree with you passionately, a lot of times, or or let's say
if if if your opinion or your position elicits a really passionate response from people,
a lot of times it's because at the very least you're you're hitting at some there's some piece
of truth there's a kernel of validity to what you're saying, and it's hard for the people
who oppose you to it's not easily kind of like disproven, and. And to me, it's like again,
Whale unregistering as a D rep immediately after this, it almost, it kind of knocks the legs out
from under his own argument in a way. It's almost to me, it just goes like, hey,
I didn't really have a good way to justify this rationale, and so rather than responding to
the criticism of my rationale, I'm just going to completely wipe it clean, right?
And and I'm not saying that's the truth, but it's like that's almost how it looks to me. It's like,
well, shit, I can't even defend this now that I'm being called out for it.
I'm going to just pack up my shit and go home. And I'm not saying yeah, that's the truth,
but it's like you know, I wish he could see that it's it's just basically kneecapping all
of your supporters who may be agreeing with you and and may have reasonable reasons
to to feel that way, and all of a sudden the person voicing that for them hits some pushback
and goes, okay, I'm out of here. So that's another disappointing thing because I think
we're missing out on good conversations, right? And good, you know, whether I agree with one side
or the other doesn't really matter. I just like to see people passionately kind of having
these conversations, and if one side just goes, oh, okay, I'm being attacked, I'm out of here,
then the whole conversation just collapses. And it's almost like Whale's account became like
a bulletin for Cardano for those discussions. Like he would be the one to start them,
and then you would just go and I could just read the comments on Whale's post,
and I could get the community's kind of insights because everybody would kind of go there
to talk about it. You know, there was benefits to that. Oh, absolutely. Oh, yeah. Exactly.
Being discussed on his account and being so big and and like the number one. So like that again,
it's just it's a loss, especially on on media and social marketing or social media
and marketing going forward in the bull run. Yeah, it's true. Pervert is here with us in the space.
He's requesting to speak, but it's just too much, buddy. I know it's like you're requesting from
all these different accounts. It's just obnoxious, dude. Just pick an account, join Epochs N,
join us as a speaker. It's just too much. You've requested as like four different accounts that
I know, or all you. So you're on timeout right now. Sorry. We have Rare Evo joining us as a speaker.
Everybody is welcome to join us as a speaker, by the way. But happy Epochs N, Rare Evo.
Looking forward. I know a lot of people are looking forward to the event in Las Vegas next month.
I will be watching from the sidelines because I'm a loser. Yeah, what's up with that?
What's up with that? No, it's it's a it's a familial wedding. This guy even said you would DM
about that, or maybe it was on Deborah's account. But like when I saw that you weren't attending,
it's unavoidable. Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend. There's a wedding that
I just can't skip. Although I would, I would like to skip it. Is it your wedding? Your wedding?
It's not. No, but it would cause a lot of fallout. No, I really can't. But hey, Rare Evo,
it's it's looking multi-chain this year, huh? Can you can you tell us about the multi-chain future
of of Rare Evo? Yeah, we we kind of started it last year. We had a decent multi-chain representation
if you were there last year, but it it really, I guess the word's getting out that we're not
just a Cardano event. I don't have see any problem with that per se, but sometimes the the vision
gets lost if people don't see. The value if they're not building on Cardano,
they don't see the value of going to a chain-specific event, which was kind of our plan all along.
That's why we didn't name it Cardano Evo, like East Denver or Bitcoin Conference
or something like that. We wanted to be a multi-chain. I think we can all learn from each other,
the good and the bad. We can talk smack about other chains all day long,
but every other chain has something good about them and something bad about them.
And by working together, we can kind of solve all those problems. So yeah, we're.
Extremely excited about our speakers on stage and the representation on the floor
from the like entity level or foundational level of like Solana and Polkadot and Algorand
and Abstract and Virtuals and Multiverse X and Apex Fusion and I can keep going on and on,
but there's quite a Linux Foundation, Kaleido, Chia. And I I saw some rumblings
about some pretty exciting Hydra demos. It looks like I know there was a the the Doom Hydra demo
last year, but yeah, looks like there's going to be even more this year. There is.
I don't know what I'm allowed to say. I'm sorry. Fair enough. But there will be there will be
some very cool Hydra demos. I guess I'll say it's with the Drip Drops team,
but I'll just leave it at that. Well, I saw something on the timeline about ATMs,
and there's going to be different like little kiosks around where you
yeah maybe maybe vending machines vending machines stuff like that. That's cool, man. Yeah,
it's just a cool it's a cool use case outside of just normal nerdy blockchainy stuff.
I guess you know like on chain vending machines and stuff. Like who would have thought?
But it's cool. Awesome. You heard it here first, people. No, I'm kidding. You probably heard
that before. But yeah, rare Evo. Is going multi-chain. They have been in the past,
and you know what? The future is multi-chain. Okay, I don't mean to burst you. Yeah,
I mean it's still still a huge, yeah, still a huge Cardano presence. Like, I mean,
it's Cardano's our home. It will always be our home. We started as a Cardano stake pool. I mean,
we we still run it, but but you know, it's it's it's a blockchain industry event.
It's what we've always wanted, and that's what it's kind of becoming. Well,
those aren't conflicting statements, right? Because Cardano is a Is a a key piece
of the multi-chain future, at least from my understanding. That's part of why we're yeah,
we've been a top ten crypto for almost a decade now, right? Like, I mean, you can't deny the fact,
and to have others up there along with us just kind of solidifies the importance of Cardano,
in my opinion. Exactly, no, I agree. Cardano is like the the glue, or like we're we're like
the thread that is woven between a lot of these different blockchains, and you know,
it's something I go back to a lot when I'm thinking about this. Is A lot of the the brightest minds
that input output and a lot of the the top people building really incredible things are constantly,
from what I understand, researching and learning about the pros and cons of other chains, right?
So there is no threat to Cardano to learn and be exposed to. Other chains,
and part of what's beautiful about Cardano is it's so versatile and iterative,
that we have the full ability. Well, not the. I mean, in most cases, though, we can absorb
great ideas from other chains and and integrate them with with Cardano. You know, to make it better.
Exactly. Yes, and hope and hopefully those other chains can use some of the stuff on Cardano to make
themselves better, and in the end, everyone wins. You know. Boom. So, yeah,
it'll be it's going to be exciting. I can't wait. I know it's it's been
a long year working towards it. We're two weeks away. I'm excited as hell about Developer
and Governance Day. It's going to be a lot of nerdy coding talks and a lot of deep governance talks,
and all in a environment of fun because it's at Top Golf and we can lounge at the pool
and drink a beer and play swing some clubs and smoke cannabis. Flip in and out of workshops. Yes,
slip in and out of workshops. It's going to be a blast, and then roll into rare.
Two full days of rare, lots of parties and cool stuff scheduled, and then the poker on Sunday.
Which I don't want to rub salt in the wound, but yeah, yeah, I'll mention it. Too much good stuff.
Like I said, familial wedding commitment. That if I were to miss it, it would cause
a massive fallout for me personally. So it's just not something that I want to even. I get it.
Family, family is family. I mean, I know we're all your family, but you know, I get it. Hey guys,
let's talk about the shittiest project on Cardano. When I say that phrase, what what comes to mind?
The shittiest project on Cardano. Hosky. Hosky. Correct. Hosky, this epoch dropped
their their 10k mint, their NFT. It looks like less than 200 have actually been minted so far,
unless I'm mistaken. But what do we have any holders here of this new shit-stained NFT mint?
Do we have one of the select few here with us, or? Anybody? No. How did How did
How did you get one of those? I didn't even know that they were a thing. I've been.
I still have my Hoskies I got from the from the dog from the dog bowl back in the day.
Sending my my random Ada and getting random amounts of Hosky back and getting the NFTs
and all that stuff. It was a blast. Yes. So from what I understand, and I should know more
about this, but It's forty-three. Can I see some emojis if that's correct?
Forty-three of the cash grab NFTs makes you eligible to claim one ten K. Of course,
because there are forty-three thousand cash grab NFTs. Like it was forty-four hundred
and twenty thousand four hundred and twenty, or four hundred and twenty thousand sixty-nine,
or something weird like that. No way, really? Yeah. Yes. Oh my god. That's so ridiculous.
I think it was four hundred. I think it was four hundred and twenty thousand sixty-nine.
I think was the number. Yeah, so they're not for sale, right? They're not necessarily
a traditional mint here, but we have Marcia Saurus joining us. I know he's a big, big shit lover.
Hello, Marcia Saurus. Happy Epoch's end. Welcome. Hi, Van. Happy Epoch's end.
I was just going to say, yeah, you had to hold him. Back months ago, I don't know,
end of last year time, like forty-two of them. I think the snapshot was back then
when he actually said the snapshot was. So, so you can't go out and buy a bunch of these right now
and then claim one. Yeah, no, it's a it's a really old snapshot because I've got some
where I've moved them around in wallets, but the at that point I'd consolidated them all
into one wallet, and then when I look it up, that wallet's got all the all the all the ten ks
or whatever whatever shits coming out. So you just have to. It's like yeah,
it might be some October time. I can't remember when it was. It's such a long time ago. But yeah,
so if you had them in a wallet a long time ago, check that wallet first.
You can do it in their Discord. You can you go in the Discord and you type slash tenk,
and then it will be T E N K, and then yeah, you should get a result. Anyway,
I'm going to go back down and speak because my daughter was talking to me just as just as I come up
to talk. Thank you, sir. Right, happy year, what was that, mate? You too, buddy. Thank you. Yeah,
so it's Dan. I have I have a question for you about the Hosky NFTs. It didn't.
Do you have any info on the wash trading that's being utilized almost to perfection? It looks like.
Spentron, I was hoping you could maybe educate me about that. I saw the post,
but maybe maybe you could explain what what we're seeing here. I I don't really get it,
to be honest. No, I don't either. I thought the post was really funny.
That's the only reason I saw it. Yeah, I mean, look, it's. Top to bottom, it's obtuse,
it's frustrating, it's confusing, it's Hosky. That's that's what it's all about here.
Did anyone notice the Alpha about the quantum Hosky keynote on the main stage at Rare Evo? Oh,
you know I did see that actually. Yeah, what's going on with that? Oh, you're just teasing us, huh?
You can't say anything about it. I'm just teasing you. Yeah, I guess you'll have to be there to find
out. Well, oh wait, that too soon. Too soon, but um. So, so that was the first thing I saw
or thought of when I saw the 10K art. You know, it's like a blueprint of Hosky, right?
It's like it's like the Hosky face smiling in this kind of blueprint style, and to me,
it just screams Quantum, right? I don't have any inside information. I don't know anything you guys
don't know, but it screams Quantum. It screams, you know, big, big month ahead for
for Hosky holders, and we we have you know a keynote speech. On Quantum Husky coming at Rare Evo,
which is a big deal, and we've had public pronouncements that Quantum Husky
will be the next kind of endeavor to go live after midnight from IO, which is a really big deal.
It's given me a little bit of FOMO, and I do want to just openly say
that if anybody would like to send me a Husky 10K for free, I would gladly accept it.
But I will not, I will not pay for it, and I didn't hold 43 cash grabs because I'm not an idiot.
Last year, so. But yeah, that's definitely one to keep your eye on, people, and maybe it will.
I think the floor price for these there will definitely be. It was the last I saw,
so obviously some people have some high. There will definitely, there will definitely be
some very good information that may be unmasked at the stage at Railroad. Oh my goodness! Well,
luckily we'll be able to watch that live, right? Even if we're not present,
there will be some type of streaming happening. Yes, we live stream live stream on our YouTube,
and we're going to try to do it on Twitter as well. So the whole stage will be
live stream the whole time. The same. The same with the governance portion of the DevGov Day
will be live streams, but every everything will be recorded. I gotta somehow get one of these. Yeah,
I gotta push. Oh yeah, go ahead, Bikram. Yeah. So here, here, Evo is the event that
you know occasionally hold, or you know, it's it's it's like every year. Yeah. You know. It is.
It is every year. Yes. So it's not rare, right? Rare is the name of our stake pool,
so we kind of played off that. It is rare because it's only once a year you get to experience it.
Very, very clever. Very, very clever. Yeah. We we uh this is a open space. Everybody,
everyone is welcome to speak. We have about thirty five minutes or so until
the end of Epoch five seventy one. If you have any thoughts, feelings, um, or even
if you just want to say hello, don't hesitate to request to speak. Everybody's welcome.
No pressure though. Too, if you just want to listen in. Yeah, I got a. I got a. I got a plug. Yeah.
So, who's getting paid more from the treasury? You know, Lily or Big Pay? Who or who? Sorry,
you you said Big Pay or who? And Lily, you know, Cardano. You know, yeah. I don't.
I don't think either of them have any treasury withdrawals, to be honest. Yeah,
we shouldn't confuse catalyst funding with you know direct treasury funding, right? I mean,
they're separate, separate things, separate processes for approval. Wait, why? Why did?
And to be fair, like, what did what did Lily get? Where did that even?
Lily get like a hundred thousand eight at thirty cents at thirty cents an eighta? Yeah.
Thirty thousand dollars a year and a half ago. I mean, come on. Are you jealous, Bickram? Is that
where this is coming from? Is there there is there a level of envy? Usually, that's
where it comes from. It should have been you. Yeah, kind of jealous, bro. You know,
I can do the same thing, but she's the only one that's like you get. Do what Lily does.
I I have a hard time believing that, Bickram. Yeah. Yeah, I can do more than, bro.
Because you know she's a woman. She get money, bro. Oh come on! She's charming. She's intelligent.
She produces a lot of content. Let's let's not let's not be rude here.
What travels around all the events? Yeah, Lily Lily's killing it, and she's even expanded.
I saw her advertising for like Algorand and multi chain, midnight and abstract. Yeah, multi chain.
Imagine that. Okay, so he's he's she's getting paid for the Algorand also. Yeah,
that's what happens when you do a good job. Other people want you to hire you to do that job.
Don't be a hater, Bikram. Okay. I just came up with my in a forward profile, bro.
You know the blocks are full of forwards. Yeah. I mean, she's a very good-looking girl.
She knows that, and she uses it to her advantage. There's nothing wrong with that.
Doesn't doesn't discount the fact that she puts out good content. I mean. Exactly.
Shout out to Lily. Yeah. And shout out to you, Bickram. No wrong opinions here.
I respect you for voicing your perspective. And what what is the difference between Lily and me?
She get hundred k ADA and I lose hundred k. You admitted, Bickram, that you bought into a bunch
of FOMO shit coins. You said that to us in a previous space. You you admitted it. A dragon token,
bro. It's a drag dragon token. I love dragons, bro. We all get we all have lost ADA on bad,
you know. Situations and stuff, but don't don't become bitter, right? The future is bright.
There's lots of potential. That's see, that's why he's mad at Lily because she's blonde
like Khaleesi from Game of Thrones, and he likes dragons so much. Exactly, exactly, exactly.
I thought she's the dragon. I thought Bilqram was more like some of the the people who were on
the horses with Khal Drogo. Oh, that that went out bad. The Dothrak. The Dothraki.
No more Game of Thrones. Yeah, I'm a nerd. I can say that. Let's nip this in the bud right now.
What? Nobody cares about that's old news, dude. That's that's like so five years ago. Maybe ten.
Can we talk about House of the Dragon? That's current. Is it? You got me on a technicality there.
House of the oh, dude, House of Dragon was gnarly. I think I stopped after the baby.
Something happened to the baby, and then like I was like, I gotta get back to this. Oh,
that was like the third episode of season one or something. I don't know. Is it?
I think they're still making that season. I'm a sensitive individual. Like anytime something like
that happens, you know, my favorite character gets like womp stomped. I'm like,
I gotta take a break. You know they don't really die, right? You know it's acting. No, it's not.
It's reality TV since, like, what, two thousand and one? Everything is real. Okay, guys. No,
we're talking all things Cardano here, so let's just let's reel it in.
I've never been to England though, so I don't know. Okay, let's. You know this point. You know,
bring big, bring the main point. You know. So you know, rare is coming. You know,
stop smoking crack, guys. Let's let's bring in Maureen. She's joined us as a speaker. By the way,
happy Epochs N Pyro. Glad you made it, sir. But let's just let's intro Maureen here. She's a SPO.
She's a D rep. She is an influencer. Hi, Maureen. Happy Epochs N. Welcome. Oh my God,
you got me an influencer. You influence me. Happy Epochs N. Oh, okay. Now we're talking. Awalawit.
Yeah, she is influencer. She's famous in Africa. She's African Lily. No, Bikram,
you're getting weird. You're getting weird. God, any woman is a lily. Hot to this man. How was uh?
How was your epoch, Maureen? How you been? How was your last five days? Oh, it was exhausting,
and I had a near-death experience. But I'm home, and it's warm and sunny in Colorado.
I'm just kidding. It's not sunny. It's been raining all week, but home is sweet, and I'm fine.
Maureen, didn't you say on? Didn't you do a post where you said that a man urinated in a cup next
to you on a on an airplane? This epoch was that this epoch or last epoch? Yeah, that was this epoch.
Yeah, that was the near death experience. Unbelievable. Yeah. How could somebody justify behavior
like that? I don't know. I I think on some level, I feel sorry for him.
He is probably sick in the head or in his balls, but either way, it's. It's sad. Could you smell it?
Okay. All right. Okay. I. That's a good question, Spentron. And I know I couldn't. Well, it is.
It's actually a good question. It made me think back, and I don't think I heard a smell. Oh.
And was he reprimanded in any way by the flight attend? I mean, is this like a free
for all anarchy plane, or what? It's like people can freely pull out their genitals
and urinate on the plane, or how does that work? So you know what? He wasn't reprimanded.
They didn't even know it happened. But I'm hoping there's a camera in planes, right?
Are there cameras in planes? Because I wrote them the testiest email I've ever written to
any airline ever. I I kept calling for them and they wouldn't show up.
Was hoping maybe they would come and take the idiot away, but you know they were busy dealing with
their VIP clients, I guess. Wow. What what what airline are you flying?
Because I want to avoid that one. You all need to avoid it, you know. But I I think
I'm probably stuck with it. It's Kenyan Airways. Um. Urine Air. Yeah. I I've flown Kenyan Airways
and I've never seen that. But. Well, this is this is a one in a lifetime experience. Kirby,
I don't think you ever. I've heard of somebody. I've heard of somebody in Zambia on a flight
where someone took a number two in a plastic bag because they had like they're they had
the bubble guts. And they had to go, and it was like a six-person plane, and it was yeah,
I guess awful. You guys are making fun of Indians, right? You know what though? No, we're not.
We're not. But if you're insinuating, making fun of Indians, no, no, he's he's calling himself.
I think this was a white guy too. I want to give a woman. I think I want to give props to to
to the the the word urinair,
because like that needs to be a new like you know flight group urinair urinair. So guys,
I there's a there's an experience. There's actually a story. I don't know if it's real,
but there's a story of this girl who goes on a first date to a guy's house
and she just poops in a plastic bag and she just leaves it there in the toilet and she forgets it.
Stop making fun of Indians. Stop making fun of Indians. Yeah. What's going on? It's it's Indian.
Nobody has said the word Indian except you, Bakr. So cut it out. Yeah,
you guys are saying poop all the time. I know this. This is from India. I tell friends
and family alike when they come to my house, you are not welcome to shit here.
If you feel like you might need to shit at some turn, at at any point while you are—that's your cue.
Don't even come over if it's even a possibility that you might need to take a shit,
because it's not happening. Do you have a sign on your door, on your bathroom door, in your house,
like this? If you don't live here, this is not. Oh no, you're not even getting in the.
You're not even getting in the driveway. I mean, it's like I think you should put a board
up the outback. No, it's just I don't, you know. But how do people feel comfortable doing that?
Like I can hold a shit for a long time, and I can go anywhere. If I need a shit, I gotta.
I can go anywhere. I can too. It's not a matter of being comfortable. It's like I don't care
if you're comfortable shitting at my house or not. It's not gonna happen. I don't.
I don't care about your. You're not comfortable with me shitting at your house. It's not happening.
Fun. You're not a good host. Absolutely, I'm not. I'm the worst host ever,
and I'm I'm I'm happy to tell everyone. Yeah. No, my house. What about taking a piece?
It's my home for me to shit in. It's my home for me to fart in, and and everything else.
It's not for anyone at your house. Yeah, not the show. Can I take a piece, though?
Can I take a piece? You can, but I'm not. You have to do that on the flight over. Yeah,
that's kind of sexism, you know. She can piss and I can't. What the fuck was that? Vikram,
you make everything about you, buddy. That's something I'm noticing about you.
It's like we're having this totally parallel conversation, and somehow every time you interject,
you're like, "This is somehow about me." Have you noticed that? You know,
I just you know we keep don't take seriously. You know, trying to this. I take you very seriously,
so act accordingly, Bikram. Yeah, I'm sorry. I forgive you. Okay, so Van, if I can take a piss,
you you you let me go in there thinking I'm gonna take a piss, and then I take a shit
and I don't floss. Oh man! And then while you while you realize she's taking a shit,
I'm taking a giant shit. You guys are sick, man. Let's change the topic. I don't even.
You guys are gonna make me gag. This is gross. We're better than this. Hey guys,
everybody is is welcome to speak. By the way, if you have any anything non shit related,
please request to speak. We'll get you in here. We have about twenty five minutes
till the end of the epoch, so everybody's welcome. We're talking all things Cardano.
The only thing shit related is Hosky NFTs. I was gonna say you did bring up shit. Just an off. Yeah,
no, you're right. It's true. I'm sorry. I apologize. Bikram, you have your hand up, sir.
That is incredibly polite of you. Please go ahead. Yeah, I just I just want to you know asking
some question to this Guiri guy, you know. It's a serious question. So,
can we please change the founder of Cardano? Why would we want to do that? He's fighting very hard.
Vikram, this is why everyone doesn't like you. You you wouldn't be here.
We all would not be here if it was for him, right? Yeah. What do you say to that, Vikram?
What a joke, bro. He takes this seriously. Well, you just asked. You just stated
that you were going to ask me a serious question. Stop trolling, Vikram.
How many people can be founder, bro? You know, this is a stupid question. You know,
this is not a serious question. Let's let's talk about something. I I realize that's why I gave you
a stupid answer. Let's talk about something that we can all unite behind
and that brings joy to each of us equally. Number is going up. Are you not happy?
Is this not what we all wanted? Can we have a moment of reflection and gratitude for the numbers
on the screen going up? Isn't that isn't that good? Fan, what are you talking about? Numbers go up.
My box, my box went down like between two days ago and now it's down, very down. It was
a ninety cents. Yeah. Well, are we talking about something else? No, no. Yeah, number.
Now it's at eighty-three or eighty-one. I don't know. Yeah, but it went up for the epoch, right?
Number go up. Oh, okay. Yeah, fair. We're not at peak euphoria and epoch at this price in the '80s.
Get back to us at ninety-five to a dollar, and we'll be happy again. Maureen's like,
it's not enough that number go up. It needs to go up every day, every single day.
I want number to go up, or else I'm not happy. I mean, this is this is out of control, people. No,
it's a it's half full, half empty kind. You're half full person. I'm a half empty person, and yeah,
that's the way it is. These twenty percent pullbacks are exactly what you want to see.
Super healthy. You just buy in the dips on the way up. This is what this is how it goes.
You bite it deep, it dips, and then you bite it again, and it dips, and then you kill yourself.
Stop! Don't joke about that. Look, I mean, this is a—if I can introduce this topic, right?
I know Maureen, you don't like to talk politics. This is not meant to be political at all,
but I think most people in this space are probably aware of something called SWIFT, right?
It's essentially like the Western U.S. Hegemonic financial transaction layer for tradfi,
if you will. It connects all of the kind of U.S. Approved countries
and their largest financial institutions makes it so they can share ones
and zeros on the screen very seamlessly. And I'm sure you guys are aware,
but Cardano is compliant with the new kind of language standards, communication standards
that have to be met between large financial institutions. But unless I'm missing something,
we may in the next year or so be seeing the largest financial institutions transacting
and you know expressing value between each other in ADA. This seems like, I mean,
it just seems like massive news to me that is kind of getting overlooked in the last few days.
And again, I know not everything revolves around the U.S. And stuff, but this is,
from what I understand, the largest kind of financial network that's ever existed. I mean, globally,
right? I mean, we're talking like SWIFT is the biggest and the baddest thing that we've ever had for
communicating financial data around the world, and Cardano is now going to be incorporated into
that system. I mean, is this not like monumental news? Is this is this not giant? It's great.
I we use I use Swift. I mean, the bank uses Swift all the time, but it it's such a bullshit system
of fractionalized banking that they have to. You know, someday sometimes we send a transaction
and it takes like literally minutes because the banks have the float on their own.
But sometimes when they don't, it's like seven days, ten days. Um, but yeah,
that'll be great if we're running these things in Cardano. You're wonderful. Well, and and you know,
dating back to the. The notorious whiteboard presentation by Charles, you know,
something that always stuck out to me was he goes. Traditional finance needs a bridge to blockchain,
and a lot of the early attempts at blockchain were like, hey, we're, and understandably so,
this is we're a separate entity, and cross connection with traditional finance is not a priority,
and we want to get away from that because it's all evil and corrupt, and we can all kind of agree on
these things, but Charles' his whole presentation, from what I remember, was like,
if we don't offer a bridge for traditional finance into the Cardano blockchain
and blockchain in general. We're just kind of shooting ourselves in the foot.
There's all this insane amounts of value, even if it is inflated and miscalculated and manipulated.
There's massive, you know. I think Swift does five trillion dollars worth of transactions a day.
Five trillion. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong on that, but that's the average. It's a,
it's insane. My bank is forty dollar minimum to send a Swift Swift transaction. So I mean,
but we're talking about, I mean, again, we're we're talking about like the whole crypto market cap.
In a day, every fucking day, three six five, all around the world, and most blockchains are like,
oh well, that shit's evil. We don't want any part of it. I mean, there there are others.
Cardano isn't the only one that's compliant. Like you know, I think Ripple is, and there's
certain other ones. So we're not the only ones, but it's like, this is massive news,
and if even one percent of that starts being transacted on the blockchain for Cardano, I mean,
in Ada, huge development, huge news, and you know, kind of a a snowball downhill type effect,
I think, with this and. And I just real quick would say, there's a lot of positive things
about the traditional finance world, and just about the legacy system, right? It's not all demonic,
evil bastards, right? There is real value, there is real utility, and the beautiful thing
about Cardano, in my opinion, is it gives us a toolset to really absorb all the ideas
that we think make sense and that we want to carry forward into the future,
while also weeding out all of the kind of negative things, or to the best of our ability. I mean,
we're not perfect, but. You know, I mean, it's it's just an incredible moment in time
for us to really, kind of, or for myself. What what what do I appreciate about my bank? You know,
what do I get out of my debit card and my credit cards, and what what do I get out
of all these things that I I don't want to see go away? And then what are the areas that
we can improve? And then now we have this beautiful thing called Cardano
that we can actually leverage to, to make that reality rather than just kind of dreaming about it.
So kind of an empowering thing, and you know, we we have to, we have to be visionaries
and imagine the world as it can be. But we have to take action in the world as it is now, right?
And it can get so tricky to do that, and it can get so confusing about, wait,
where does the vision begin and where does reality begin, and where are they meeting,
and and how can I balance these things, you know? But sorry,
just a just a positive little news story that I think has been overlooked in the last two epochs
because there's been so much exciting stuff going on. But again, five trillion in volume per day
on Swift. I mean, incredible, mind-boggling amounts of value moving around. Van, I hate positivity.
But I'm curious, what part of this made you think it was political that you were giving me
a disclaimer? I don't know. You're just so sensitive about like anything.
As soon as somebody says USA, you're like, I hate flags. I hate Come on, I said I hate flags.
I said I hate flags and patriotism. That's different. It just so happens that a lot
of Americans are patriotic. It doesn't mean I hate USA. You know? Hmm. Okay.
So you hate it in general, like for anybody, any country. Yeah, she hates flags. That's right, KB.
Any flag. I hate flags. That's fine, as long as you get a line. Waving flags, you know. Flags,
waving flags. Let's be specific. It's when you're waving it that I hate it. What was that song for
the South Africa World Cup? Like wave the flag. The waving flag. Oh, oh. Is that? It's not
South African. But you hate it. That's not. Ah, come on! It's a song. It's a great song.
It's a song. Football match. I know that. All right. Well, how about this, Maureen?
Let's see if this triggers you. And if it does, I apologize in advance. But the benevolent,
kind-hearted, thoughtful, and righteous man, Charles Hoskinson, was in Washington D.C.,
which is the capital of the United States of America. And some would call it the belly of the beast.
So this beautiful, wonderful man that we all love travels to this cesspool.
He goes into the heart of the swamp, and he puts on his his his rubber boots
and He trudges through the mud and the swamp and the muck of Washington D.C. And while he's there,
from what I understand, I wasn't present in these meetings, obviously. But from what I understand,
he uses this opportunity to speak with senators from the United States, as well as NIST,
which I forget what that stands for. But NIST is very, very important for kind of setting standards
for technology and kind of things that laws are built. It's like a foundational level
for regulations to be built on top of. So Charles is going right to the right to the heart of it,
right. And he's talking about the Edinburgh Decentralization Index with these people. Now,
why does this matter? The Edinburgh Decentralization Index was formulated at the University
of Edinburgh, which is in Scotland. Maybe it's in. Yeah. Okay. And Professor Aggelos Kiayas, Kiayas,
I believe it's pronounced. Who you guys may not be familiar, but he is an absolute big brain genius.
Who is, from what I understand, really the mastermind behind Ouroboros
and the kind of Cardano approach to proof of stake, or at least he's a he's a he's a big influence
on it. And the Edinburgh Decentralization Index is meant to be more facts
and less feelings about the real quantifiable level of decentralization on many blockchains.
And I mean, I don't know if you guys have seen this chart, right? But Cardano is is in
a whole different ballpark than everybody else. At least last time I saw it. I mean,
we're talking about serious differentiation between Cardano and and these other blockchains.
And I haven't seen any sentiments, Vikram, that people have said that Edinburgh,
the EDI as it's called, has been a bad faith thing. I haven't seen. I mean,
there would be every reason for other chains to say, "Oh, this is bullshit." Obviously,
Cardano is going to pick itself as the most decentralized, but I mean,
it seems like there's been a very rigorous process for this this index applied,
and that that was a genius, you know, move, and that innovation is absolutely crazy, you know.
The The index was saying, you know, it takes you know years of hard work, you know,
years of hard work. It's not just what you were mentioning behind the scenes.
It's lots of people hard works we you know put into that work. So if you
if you think Charles created these things, you know, no, Charles is just a conduit, you know.
So government is right now is you know fully adopting blockchain. Charles can go to
the government places without getting arrested, you know. So that's the benefit
with the Trump administration. Oh, and and here's my question, Nick. Is can you imagine?
Let's say even if you're like a senator or one of these regulators who has a huge bag of es, right?
It's like, oh man, I'm I'm super into Ethereum, and then Charles Hoskinson shows up
and gives you a detailed explanation and run through of the EDI and how Cardano is built different.
Is there anyone in this space right now who thinks that someone would not be convinced? I mean,
I I don't mean to be glazing Charles here, but we know this guy has a way of communicating
these concepts, and I think this is like I would not be surprised if every single person
who was present came away. You know, the senators. Yeah, I can I can tell the answer that you know
these senators are the you know the cynic, you know they they you know the first they they are
you know they raise cautions against the blockchains you know late, and in 2021
or 2022 they must be buying these crypto tokens you know maybe they are the lead buyer bro.
So they don't have any faith for any technology or anything. They just, you know, no blockchain,
crypto tokens like Ethereum, Cardano. Yeah, they do. They don't, you know,
build a relationship like you know the community member or just like we did, you know. So they just,
you know, buying and selling, doing the doing this trading stuff, you know.
So it's not that hard for you know for any center holding Ethereum. So he can sell Ethereum
if he found something good in Cardano.
He can sell Ethereum and buy Cardano anytime. So it's not that hard.
I mean, they're they're they're not the seed buyer, right? They didn't buy Ethereum at zero point
one dollar or maybe two dollar. They bought Ethereum like two thousand dollar. Oh, Bichram,
can I ask you a question? We have no way of knowing that, but yeah, go ahead, Maureen. Oh, sorry.
If you want to keep talking about what you were talking about, no, please, it's fine, Maureen. Ah,
Bichram, how much ether do you have? You don't have to answer that, Bichram.
That that's a very rude question to ask, Maureen. I mean, what a faux pas to ask
that here in a recorded space. How dare you? No, I'm just curious because he says a lot of things
about, um, you know. Well, he just said he has nothing. I was just curious.
How much ADA do you have, Maureen? Oh, um, a lot actually, in thousands. I'm a whale. I'm a whale,
guys. Kad, I am Kadano whale. There, I docs myself. No, the whales don't speak in spaces.
That's something I've learned. It's all brokeys in here. Oh, they do. They're just not
on that account. Maureen is whale. Maureen is just whale's burner account. Honestly,
we don't even know if Whale was really a whale. Good point. Yeah, good point. Yeah,
it's a freedman guy, but everybody knows that. You guys, you know, I awarded him last year,
so everybody knows he's a Jew. All right, Bakrumb, take it easy, buddy. Let's not let's not get.
Yeah, I love. Yeah, I love Jews. What is wrong with you? Yo, I love Gal Gadot.
What the fuck are you talking? I love Wonder Woman. Look, Bakrumb, you don't like it
when people comment on you know different ethnic things and racial. Let's just keep it.
Let's keep it cardinal focused. We don't need to go down these rabbit holes.
Let me mention to you guys a project that I am very fond of. Who has joined us for EPOC
and many times in the past? Who I'm trying to convince to. Well, anyways, let me just intro them.
Begin Wallet announced that they have integrated Apple Pay, and I know there's been a lot of chatter
about integrating these different payment services and things. This is another story to me
that just seems like a fucking giant deal. Begin Wallet. Do we have any Begin Wallet users in here?
Feel free to throw up some emojis, but Apple Pay. I mean, I think it's 550 million
some odd Apple Pay users and. Globally, who will now be able to access the their their financial
or their their the value they have, you know, accessible through Apple Pay, right?
Which is their bank accounts using Begin Wallet. Shout out to Begin. I know there's
some other projects cooking this up, and forgive me if someone has already done this,
but it was my first. I've heard mention of it in the past, but I haven't seen a project
actually saying, "Hey, we did it. It's available." So, if that is accurate, shout out to
Begin Wallet and one of the. I mean, they've been they've been chipping away at it every five days,
man. Got to give them credit. There's a lot of competing wallets. There's a lot of. I mean,
it's definitely an uphill battle to. To to be a kind of third party Cardano wallet, right?
You really have to differentiate. You really have to separate yourself. So, I hope I'm not spreading
fake news, but this is big. I'm not an Apple Pay user, honestly, myself.
So it's not a huge deal for me. But I know a lot of people who do, and a lot of people
who really rely on it in their everyday life. So seems like a big deal.
I wish they were here to talk about it, but if anybody's tried it or plans on trying it,
or just maybe a show of emojis, would you feel comfortable? You know, I mean, I I should get
more details. We'll get more details about the Apple Pay integration, but. This is breaking news,
I think, as of a day or two ago. So, exciting times. Hey, Van, I helped you pin it up top,
so you know it's not fake news. Boom. I have a question about Apple Pay. Is it,
is it like when you add your bank account to Apple? Exactly. Yep. And then you just tap your phone
where you would tap your card on a payment, you know, point of sale. Oh my god. Tap your phone.
Exactly. Wow, this is great. So I can finally buy Ada. I hope. You can buy lots of things.
Which is scary to me, as someone who has a compulsive consumer mindset. You know, I mean,
it's like I'm almost scared of. I don't want it to be easy to spend Ada. That's part.
It's been such an incredible savings vehicle for me because it's like you can't really use it
to buy too much, and yet now I'm going to be able to actually spend it.
It's like it's it's exciting, but it's kind of scary too. It's like, oh God, do I want this ability?
Like, do I actually want that? Because I'm so irresponsible and thoughtless with my spending.
I have a solution. Send me your key phrase, this, and I'll take care of that for you. Maureen,
I know you're kidding, but for anyone who's here in the space, this is just a an epochly reminder.
Anyone who asks you for your seed phrase is either ignorant or dishonest. You never send it,
and if someone ever asks you, even if they're a nice person, just you block them
and and completely disassociate from that person. But Maureen was just kidding; she's just joking.
But little educational opportunity there. Jarhead, welcome, sir. Thank you for joining us.
Happy epoch end. Yeah, happy box end. What's going on? So, Van, as a as an American consumerist,
I am. What is your most precious consumer purchase? Precious? Define precious.
It's not for me to define. It's for you to define. Well, I guess I reject the premise.
Then I just I can't. I don't know. It's too open ended. You're no fun. Is this why?
Is this why you don't come into my spaces? Oh, stop! I love you. My most precious consumer item.
I think that's the whole point, though. Is like when I think of consumer items,
they're almost inherently not precious. I guess they give you that. They they have like a. It's like
a hallucinatory. I don't know if that's a word, but it's like a like a mirage like presence
of preciousness. But then you actually attain it, and you're like, oh fuck,
I wish I had my money back. Okay. All right. All right. I'll go Lido here. Fine.
What consumer item that you've purchased brings the most value to your life? Cost. Cost no matter.
Could be. Could be seven dollars. It could be. Seven thousand. Okay, good question,
and thank you for clarifying that because I think what I'm trying to say is
that all the things that are truly precious to me and and create value for me in a sustainable way,
like day after day, month after month, it's all free shit. It's all free shit,
or it's all things that you know I kind of that can't be bought. Let's say, right?
They're not items that I can purchase, and all the things that I can purchase, they give me that.
It's like taking a Viagra, right? It doesn't mean you're a vital young man again, right?
It just means your wiener got hard, and it's and then it goes away. You're not American.
Get out of here, man! You didn't answer. Oh my god, the question! Oh, just so difficult.
Obtuse is the word. Hey, it's my favorite word. That's a good one, man.
I've been using it more lately. Obtuse. It's it's underutilized, I think.
There's there's a lot of obtuse people in in Twitter spaces. Oh yeah, like Bikram. I'm kidding,
Bikram. We love you. You're not obtuse. Nah, nah, no, he is obtuse. Nah, it's true. He's obtuse.
Hey, someone who is—I don't know what the antonym of obtuse is, but it's Jenny Brito.
She's here with us as a speaker. Thank you so much for joining us, Jenny.
The epoch is right about to change. Maybe what is the obtuse thing about? What? There,
there are people that are obtuse, Jenny. That's it. And the antonym is acute. By the way, is it?
Want to guess that? It's not. I'm not square. Never listen to Jayhead. I see. I see.
Happy epoch end, everybody. How's everybody doing today? How's your epoch? It's been wonderful,
Jenny. No complaints at all, and it's even better now that you've joined us here,
right in the—I mean, literally in the moment before 571 actually ends.
Is there anything that you want to leave us with here as we as we cross over
this blockchain threshold here on Cardano? Just be nice, you know. You don't have to trash others
to get ahead, you know. Like just do your thing, and let others do them. And yeah, just be cool.
Don't have crap bucket mentality, you know. Let everybody win. It doesn't mean you can't win too.
That will be my thing, and also check out Karamia. Man, she wrote a song, and she is amazing.
And I can't believe how great she's doing. I am so proud of her, Jarhead.
You must be so proud of her. It's ridiculous. She's gone along. She's just. I don't know. It's wild,
isn't it? I can't even imagine what would be of Karamia if she would have started her career like
20 years ago. She would be like so freaking famous by now. It's crazy. I know. Absolutely amazing.
So. It's wild. And by the way, that song is not about me. If anyone's, if anyone's wondering,
it's not about me. Started, come on. You don't question those things, okay?
Artists write their things, and that's how it is. You just gotta get the feeling,
and you make it about you. You connect with it and make it whatever it is that it means to you.
You know, Jenny. Jenny, I literally got a text from my mom last night, and she's like,
"So that song's about you." I'm like, "No, no, mom. It's not about me. I'm a good person.
I'm not obtuse." That's funny. Your attitudes. Also, I just want to ask, Van, before I forget,
and we crossed the epoch. Did you mint any blocks? Yes, Jenny. Thank you for asking.
Weed Stake Pool produced three blocks. We are on a roll. We have been revitalized.
We have been rejuvenated, and the Discord is active. We're doing giveaways.
It has just been another wonderful epoch, almost to the point of just an embarrassment
of good fortune. I don't want to turn it into a bad thing. It's just incredible. I couldn't. I mean,
it's just exceeded all expectations, and the sustained support from the Cardano community
for Weed Stake Pool—that's ticker ticker W E E D—has been completely life-changing in terms
of just introducing new experiences, new challenges, new concepts, and just just couldn't be
more grateful for the opportunity to to be doing what what I'm doing. It's it's it's incredible.
Thank you. Hey Van, in the absence of Big Joe, can I say that Weed Stakepole has no affiliation
with the weed plant? Of course. It stands for Weed Educate. W. It's a common misconception.
W. E. E. D. That's right. No relation to the cannabis plant. Stake to weed. That's right. Guys,
let's go to Bikram. He's had his hand up for a while now. Just again, happy epoch's end, everybody.
We're now in five seventy two. Five seventy one's over. All the drama,
all the all the things that happened, good or bad, it's over. It's done. We're moving forward.
We got a fresh set of days here. We're breathing fresh, delicious air here on Cardano,
and we can make it whatever we want it to be. But yeah, Bikram, thank you for your patience, sir.
Please go ahead. Yeah, absolutely. It's an honor for you, you know, to having me in this space.
So I just want to say, you know, just I just want to finish my, you know. Speech.
So Cardano is right now. You can see the ninth or tenth place, and if you compare with
the other blockchains like you know Ethereum, Solana, and Binance, XRP, whatever it is, yeah,
whatever Cardano is building, they're nowhere that they can compete with Cardano right now
in technical term. To be honest with you, bro. In top ten, maybe you know the top five makes
no sense. You know these blockchains are not perfect for banking or stable coins. Or it is you know
if you really a developer, you need to go EVM chain. You can try out everything,
but it's not secure for government adaptation or institutional adaptation. So basically, you know,
Cardano is going to the right path, and I still think you know lots of things we need to develop
and. This blockchain, this decentralization doesn't mean you know it depends on one person
like Cardano, Veil, or Charles Hoskinson. You know, it's not about Charles Hoskinson
and Cardano Veil. Lots of people working. Like you take the name of the guy of the scientist
who works on the you Orvados. Yeah, he's a great guy. Aggelos Kiayias, I believe. Yeah, yeah,
and and the top four, five scientists, you know, they works on Orvados. They are the genius, bro.
You know, so people never read about these guys and their work. They just follow code. Yeah,
that's the problem, bro. Lots of people working, you know, busting their ass, like the PhD doctors,
and and we and we touched on that briefly earlier, Bikram. But people like Aggelos
and people he works with, these guys aren't maxies for Cardano. They're not Cardano maxies at all.
They're the first ones to acknowledge and kind of applaud other chains that are innovating in
unique, valuable ways, right? So, like, it flies in the face of the maximalism
and the tribalism when you realize, okay, some of the brightest minds who are really laying
the foundations that we're all building on top of. Are constantly learning and researching
and interacting with other chains, right? It's it's a beautiful thing to kind of embrace,
and I think maybe that's why some people, when they dig into Aggelos and some of the things he says,
they get kind of frustrated because he's not the maximalist Cardano guy that they want him to be.
He's like he honestly doesn't even give a shit. Like his interest in Cardano only extends as far
as it's innovating in unique ways. I mean, he's not here to defend your bags, right?
And that's why it can be, I think, frustrating at times. But we just gotta kind of embrace
that that part of it, you know. Yeah, exactly. And now this is the point.
You can see you need a innovation, bro. You know, so all these regulations, legalization of cryptos,
now need to work. You know, this shilling, this marketing, yeah, this nonsense,
soft porn things will not work. You need to innovation. Yeah, no, you're right. No, yeah,
and it's five days at a time, man. That's the thing. We gotta just chip away at it five days
at a time. A lot can change. We can iterate. We can test. We can Converse. Clown show is over.
I just want to say the clown show is over. It's time for the real players.
So being on the real players, the clown show, is it? Absolutely it. Agreed. Let's bring in Pyro.
You have your hand up, sir. That's that's very kind of you. Please go ahead, Pyro.
I ha I came here to say that Jarhead said he wasn't obtuse, and that was news to me. Ha ha!
I love it. Jarhead, what do you have to say? Did I did I say that? You did. You said your mom.
You said you told your mom that you weren't obtuse. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah. I mean, yeah,
but I'm talking to my mom. That's different. Yes. So you lied to your mom, Jihad. Yeah,
I don't get it. How is what is yeah? I mean, how the hell am I supposed to say that, mom?
I'm obtuse. You raised an obtuse, you know, child who grew into a man.
How am I supposed to say that? She's gonna have to reckon with it eventually.
You're more than a child. You're a son. Remember that. Let's let's bring in Flame. Flame,
happy Epoxen. Flame, how are you? Thank you for joining me. If you may. What's up, guys?
Thanks for remembering how to pronounce it. Happy epoch end. I don't have like really anything
to say. I just wanted to come up and be present. Oh, cool. Well, thank you. Happy epoch end.
Hope your 572 is off to a good start. We're about almost 10 minutes in now.
I don't know if anything really noteworthy has happened yet in this epoch, but we will be back,
everybody, on Monday, this upcoming Monday, to talk all things Cardano from epoch 572.
I am gonna wind down the space now, unless anybody has something to contribute
before we kind of wrap it up here. Are you guys all going to Rare Evo? No,
I have a stupid wedding I have to go to. Stupid fucking wedding of a family member. Are you in that?
Are you in that age where everybody's getting married, and so you're shelling out like
two hundred bucks, like you know, every other week or some shit? You know,
I've done a pretty good job of isolating myself socially from most people. This wedding is is uh,
it's unavoidable because it's you know it's a blood relative, but honestly no,
I think I've done yeah a pretty good job of kind of uninviting myself preemptively from a lot
of wedding engagements. I see them on social media and I just laugh to myself. I giggle,
and I just go, oh man, look at all these suckers who had to go to this fucking wedding.
And what is it? I mean, your excuse to get away. To get out of it, I mean,
just basically putting up a lot of barriers between myself and friends and family, right?
As many as possible to make it just like kind of an unspoken understanding that Van will not be,
you know, almost like let people know in advance you're actually going to be really like it's
almost insulting when you invite me to a wedding, right? Like I just want to be left alone,
and I want to be just I want to hang. I'm at that age. I'm at that age.
I'm you know I just got you know I got a fiance. I'm getting married and.
Her her cousin is is like one month after they decided to also propose, and they're getting married.
And I just went to a wedding and in Colorado. So like everyone, I've already said no
to two other weddings. You know, like. Well, it's like, when you guys get divorced,
do I get my money back, or do I get reimbursed for the wedding gift? I mean, how does that?
You guys get to keep all the gifts after the divorce. Oh, you say no, but you don't send a gift. No,
I don't send a gift. I don't want like okay. So I know there's gonna be.
I know that you're supposed to have a registry. I don't want like I don't want people shit.
I don't want you to send me anything, but you know she she she does. She's like she's gonna put on
that she wants to buy a second house and that you want that that she wants you to help pay for the
what do you call it the the honeymoon and yeah whatever we're good we're I
and I said if you want that then put that in there see if anyone takes the bait
and you know there are fish out there that will who knows might drop a hundred thousand
that could be you but I don't want it. I don't want it. Yeah, but if you want, if you, if you,
if you, if you like the idea so much, you want to pay for a honeymoon.
The option will be in the registry, and I'm not saying that you need to. And what? I mean,
the whole institution of marriage. It's like I don't. You will get a salmon.
Associate myself with this. It's like it's so outmoded and just outdated. And it's like,
do I really want to even you? You know, like in a superficial way, kind of lend my validity
to this event. Like, I just like if you guys love each other, fucking love each other.
Why do you need to have a big fucking photo op about it, right? I don't think that's.
I think that's like. We all get to join the. I think I understand what you're getting at.
Like I don't. I understand where you're getting at, but since I was a boy, here, listen to this,
right? There is a. You can go on the YouTube. And there's I played the game Fable,
and in the game Fable you can marry people, right? And so like it was a hey hey,
and you flirted yourself up to hero. Oh my gosh, hero! You know, so if you guys know that game,
you understand. And then right when you get married, there's a cutscene.
It's the coolest fucking cutscene, right? It's the Hold on, hold on. This cutscene is badass.
I'm gonna use this cutscene in my fucking wedding. Ever since I was like, I don't know, eleven,
twelve, playing table. Everybody in the space right now. No, it's not. Is and so the hero married,
and for that day there was like peace among the land or something like that.
And then you just hear like the farmers going, hey, hey, that's that's what everyone's gonna see.
And so how am I supposed to manifest that without getting married unreligiously?
What what a ridiculous ridiculous. Little diatribe you just went on, Pyro.
Completely unacceptable in this space. I'm just kidding. We love you, buddy. Jarhead,
you have your hand up, and we're gonna actually wrap up the stage. No, Epoch. Epoch. Next time,
say I love you, Pyro. I love you, Pyro. Good. I do love you, buddy. But if you ever bring up Fable
again, you're fucking done. Jarhead, we have to wrap up the space, but there's nobody better
to give us a positive kind of sentiment to carry us through into this fresh new epoch than you, sir.
So please, please go ahead. You goddamn right. I just, I just got one question for you, Van.
Nobody else, Van. When is the last time that you received or gave a good back hug? A good back hug?
That's right, a good back. Oh my god! That's right. Come on. I can't even remember the last time
I embraced another human in any former fashion. I mean, it's been so long. Yeah, me too. Oh my God,
man, you're gonna make me cry. I know, dude. The the The first, the first,
and the last time that I that I meet you, I'm going to give you a good back hug. Just letting you.
We need to end the. We need to end the space on. So you had a bad day. It's hanging up long. No, no,
no, no. Okay, you know. Just full disclosure, my vision of happiness is being left alone
with my cannabis and my coffee, and my my my computer. And just you know,
long walks on the beach without another human. I don't need another human being to help
me generate meaning in my life. But you need another human being to back hug you.
You can't do without another human being. That's the thing. It's the essence of life.
A good back hug. So someone's behind me hugging me, or I'm hugging them. Either, either or.
You can you can give it or receive it. That's the that's the beauty of a good back hug.
Every every doc I've seen back hugs. I'll I'll I'll be honest with you guys right now.
And normally I wouldn't share this much personal info, but I'll be totally transparent
and say that if there's one thing I miss about. Companionship. I do miss being the little spoon
sometimes. I was never. I've never been. I know that's not like the most macho thing to say,
but I am a little spoon guy. I do miss being the little spoon, and it is something that I. I think,
and that's kind of like the. You see, you do need the embrace. I think.
I feel like the crowd for help. I have to say, no one who doesn't want human relationship is
the little spoon. Usually, it's the big. I just want the little spoon experience.
I'm not looking for all the kind of tertiary commitments that come with that, right?
But it is hard to get a good little spoon connection going without a lot of commitment. You know,
it's not. Go to Japan. That's right. Apparently, they're on the street,
and you just you can purchase a little spoon. Moment. Whoa, chill, chill. Moment.
You get you get to get a little spoon soon enough. Dude, just just keep this in mind. Just keep it.
If if you know, if if I I will let you know a couple weeks beforehand. If there's an event
and you're gonna be there and I'm gonna be there, I just I'm gonna be there. You're gonna.
If someone comes up behind you and gives you a back hug, do not be alarmed.
Don't worry about the fight or flight response. It's me. All right, and I'm going for the belly.
I'm going for the low the low back hug. I'm going for the belly. The Travaki, what what's that?
Mimosa, that mimosa meme. Um. Yeah, you're gonna get. You're you're the you're the Spider Man
to his mimosa. The Superman, the Superman to his mimosa. Is that some fable shit? Is that yeah?
Pyro, you're in deep trouble, buddy. We'll talk about this later, but gotta wrap up the space
for now, guys. Thank you so much for joining. It was another great space as always.
We will be back on Monday to talk all things 572. If throughout the next five days
you see something interesting, or engaging, or upsetting on Cardano, please jot it down
on a little piece of paper or maybe on your computer or your phone and come talk to us about it
at Epoch's end. Gotta go for now, though. So have a great Epoch.
We'll do it again soon. Goodbye for now. Yeah, and don't drop the soap.
