All right, let's get right to it. Happy epoch send everyone. We are here at the final hours
of epoch 573 here on Cardano. We do this space every five days on the day of the epoch change,
which is a five-day period on the blockchain, and we are about an hour and a half early.
So space starts at 1 p.m. Pacific Standard Time on the day of the epoch change,
and the epoch officially changes at about 2:45 ish p.m. Pacific Standard Time,
and then we wrap up the space about 15 to 20 minutes after that, typically,
unless you know things heat up and we have time and we're able to do it. We, but anyways, yeah.
If you're listening to the recording of the space, just want to say thank you very much
for listening in, and sorry you couldn't make it to join us live. But luckily,
we do it every five days, so there's always next epoch. And what else did I want to say
as we start off this space here? Oh yeah, I need to type happy epochs end.
In the comments for this space, that's important. Important ritual. But yeah, wow,
so many stories to cover here. I can't wait for people to start jumping into the space because,
yeah, there are so many topics, so many stories. I'm very interested to see where this space goes.
I do think there are some other Cardano-related spaces happening on X simultaneously
with us right now, which is great to see. It's wonderful to see so many Cardano-focused spaces
happening. In so many places for data holders to communicate with others and learn and grow,
as I get to do every day, just so beautiful. I'm so grateful for that. But yeah,
got got some notes from the epoch in front of me here. Like I said, very excited to start diving in.
Tagged a few projects who are leading the the discussion here on Cardano, but we also have,
as we often do. Some breaking news happening as well, just before the end of this, or sorry,
the beginning of this space, kicked off. So, so much to cover and and process together here
as a community. As to as opposed to the current condition of the space,
which is me sitting in a room with white walls, with headphones on, talking to myself. Um. Yeah,
I got to I got to get a little bit better. I want to write this down. A little bit better at.
Getting the space started correctly and with a nice flow, even when it's just yours truly here
in the space. I'm just so I I so enjoy the dynamic flow of the conversation
when others join. One second, I'm looking for a pen. Give me give me five seconds here.
All right, we are back. We are so back. I shouldn't say we. I'm back. This is
a wonderful mental exercise of just talking to myself. You know, they say that's the difference
between a crazy person and a sane person is.
A sane person knows that you're not supposed to talk to yourself in public. Do that shit at home.
Oh man, I'm dying. I got to tweet at some people. I'm gonna say so lonely,
and then I said I love you in another chat. Dang. Now I'm just very curious. What is going on?
I guess it's a Saturday space too. Saturday space.
Lots going on. Everybody's busy. Everybody's busy.
You know what? I guess we're just gonna go stream of consciousness then, huh?
Is that what is that what's happening? Because if that is the case, I will just read some of
the Cardano Vision Twenty Thirty, which was released a couple days ago.
It's currently hosted on at product.cardano.intersectmbo.org, and let's just hop right in.
This is an interesting document. Cardano Vision Twenty Thirty: Our Future Defined,
Our Enduring Purpose. Cardano exists to provide trustworthy, censorship-resistant infrastructure
for societies and initiatives that cannot afford to fail, built on
foundational scientific principles and peer-reviewed research. In a world where public testnets,
or oh, sorry, in a world where public trust is collapsing, institutions are fragmenting,
and digital incentives often lead to extraction, Cardano offers a composable layer for credible,
long-term alternatives without requiring permission to to participate.
It is about enabling an auditable, permissionless, and resilient public infrastructure stack,
more inclusive than anything that came before. Wow! Hello, Envy. Thank you for joining.
You you are a precious, precious spirit, and I'm so grateful that you've joined here today.
Please feel free to request to speak if if you'd like to hop in. Back to Cardano Vision 2030.
Our guiding mission: Cardano empowers individuals and communities to coordinate resources, rights,
and value at scale. Fostering an inclusive ecosystem where builders and institutions create
lasting impact. We achieve this by offering deterministic, composable,
self-governing infrastructure, enabling secure and verifiable participation in public systems
demanding high assurance, and cultivating an environment for value creation, not extractive noise.
Oh, that's good. Vision 2030, our north star. By 2030, Cardano will be the foundation
of a sustainable and economically self-sufficient ecosystem, demonstrating robust network utility
and widespread adoption. This marks our commitment to long-term viability,
ensuring the network continually generates the necessary resources to thrive.
From vision to strategy, the aspiration of this vision is translated into tangible action
through a comprehensive strategic plan. This plan details how strategic imperatives centered on
secure enterprise and national integration, culture-first engagement, ecosystem cultivation,
blockchain abstraction, network health, core protocol advancement, and robust financial stewardship
will guide our collective efforts. Our commitment to this defined strategy ensures Cardano remains
a leading, dependable, and impactful platform
for its decentralized future, truly serving individuals and communities globally.
So that's the kind of the vision draft for Cardano 2030. Once again, thank you, Envy,
for joining on a Saturday. I was truly Just lost in the void of silence before you entered. Even
though you you haven't spoken, but that's okay. It's just great to know that there's
another living soul out there. If you leave, I will be absolutely heartbroken.
But I do understand it's a Saturday. There's lots of action here on X and and lots of engagement
around Cardano. So there's many places competing for everyone's attention. I get that. But yeah,
so I'm sure you you started to notice, Envy. We are just going through the new. Cardano 2030 plan,
which came out a couple days ago. The next piece of this is the executive summary
from the strategic plan of guiding the future Cardano 2030. This strategic plan outlines
the comprehensive approach to realizing the Cardano Vision 2030, which targets
200 million dollars in annual Layer One revenue. Wow! This vision is driven by
Cardano's enduring purpose to provide trustworthy, censorship-resistant infrastructure built on
foundational scientific principles, empowering coordination at scale. This plan translates
that ambition into actionable imperatives, operational principles, and measurable metrics
designed to guide the ecosystem's collective efforts and achieve widespread utility
and economic self-sufficiency. Rigorous key performance indicators, definitions,
and adherence will be fundamental to our success. The full expression of the Cardano Vision 2030 is
detailed in the dedicated vision document. I think that's what we just went over.
The strategic compass guiding our future to realize our 2030 vision, Cardano will focus on
the following strategic imperatives, informed by community input and market demands. Number one,
abstract blockchain complexity for mass adoption. Invisible technology ensure
that for the vast majority of end users, the underlying blockchain technology operates seamlessly
and imperceptibly, functioning as a robust tool under the hood rather than a visible layer requiring
specialized knowledge. Intuitive user experience. Prioritize the development of DApps
and services with UX designs that mirror familiar web2 apps, removing barriers associated with
wallets, transaction signing, fee management. This enables flexibility payments, or sorry,
flexible payment methods that significantly lower the barrier to entry for new users.
Empower developers for abstraction. Provide developers with tools and frameworks necessary
to build applications that effectively abstract away blockchain complexities for the user,
allowing them to focus on delivering value and functionality. And finally, enable
broad accessibility and participation. Support mechanisms and toolings that will allow users
and operators to participate in the network and contribute to the decentralization
and security with minimal resource requirements. Hello, recent joiners. Thank you, guys.
Welcome to Epoch N573, guys. We're just talking about the Cardano Vision 2030 document that came out
a couple days ago. And yeah, just thank you for hopping in. If you guys want to speak,
you're more than welcome to. No pressure, though. Also. Been kind of a quiet space so far.
Only 15 minutes in, but I figured I would just dive into this document since it is a recorded space.
You know, maybe someone could get some benefit from it later on. But as more people come in,
you know, we can we can change things up. But I just thought this 2030 document was
very interesting. So we're currently in the strategic compass section of the strategic plan
for Cardano 2030, and part of that compass is fostering a culture-first approach
and localized engagement. We need to integrate cultural understanding,
embed a culture-first approach as a foundational layer in all ecosystem development
and product roadmap processes. This involves structured insight gathering on
how users in diverse regions define trust, empowerment, and connection, informing
local use case design, messaging, and onboarding strategies. Empower local partnerships
and communication. Prioritize identifying and collaborating with key local individuals
and partners who can facilitate understanding and communication within their respective cultures.
This indicates, or sorry, this includes leveraging local organizers for global workshops,
ensuring a wider range of perspectives and insights into diverse market needs. Develop
distinct strategies for effective virtual and in-person engagement. Distinct, sorry.
Recognizing the limitations of hybrid approaches, invest in professional interpreters who understand
the subject matter and context, ensuring accurate cross-cultural communication. And acknowledge
and adapt to cultural nuances, including religious perspectives on cryptocurrency, to facilitate
broader adoption. Mitigate negative external perceptions. Actively address and counter
negative messaging and perceptions of the ecosystem, particularly concerning community behavior
and perceived instability. Cultivate a public narrative that emphasizes
Cardano's architectural strength, product offerings, and collaborative spirit to ensure
it is not dismissed by decision makers due to external noise. Foster clear,
unified representation by implementation partners. And finally, target specific high-impact markets.
Focus on quote low-hanging fruit markets already embracing crypto, such as Argentina, Venezuela,
Kenya, Uganda, Cameroon, India, Vietnam, Brazil, Colombia, and others,
where blockchain solutions address immediate real-world problems. Shift from broad regional labels
to specific data-driven targeting based on economic factors, population, or education levels.
Holy hell, that's a big one. This is hosted on Intersect. Mbo.org, by the way,
under product Cardano. Wow, what a what a what a document here! Once again,
happy Epoch N five seventy three. Thank you, Shaw Dog. Welcome, sir. We also have the
we have Kablanzi in here. You guys are both more than welcome to speak, but again, no pressure.
I do long for the voices of fellow Cardano community members, but it is a Saturday space.
I know everybody's busy. People are running around. Spending time with family,
smoking meth under bridges. Hey, what's up, Shaw Dog? Thanks for hopping in, buddy.
And then I can't speak for too long because I'm cooking dinner right now.
But do you have a do you have a link to that? Oh, you know what? Thirty pages. Yeah,
put it up in the post up top or something. Yep. Good call. I think it was originally shared on
X. The link, I think it was Samuel Leathers. So I'll get his his tweet up in up in y'all. Yeah,
I've been just focusing on at home life. So the I have no idea what happened in the past month
in Cardano. So oh, dude, just in the last five days, there's so many stories, man. It's unreal.
Yeah, should we start covering the stories of the last five days? What do you guys think? Go ahead,
go ahead. But I'll probably jump down to listener just because I got it. I'm cooking. So yeah,
no worries, show dog. That's the thing. I mean, it's like no, no pressure. You got it.
You got to jump down and make dinner. I just. I'm gonna keep hitting this
this 2030 Cardano 2030 document here while we while we all hang out and have some more listeners
and speakers pile in here on this beautiful Saturday. We are on the strategy page
of the Cardano 2030 strategic plan, and part three of the the compass for the guiding principles
of Cardano goes like this: cultivate a vibrant, skilled, and engaged ecosystem. Centralize
and improve documentation. Address fragmented developer documentation by creating a centralized,
community-led resource with examples, videos, and clear onboarding paths.
Simplify learning for complex blockchain concepts, making them accessible to a wider audience,
including beginners. Catalyze youth and academic engagement. Implement pilot programs
for blockchain education in schools, integrating it into existing curricula. To naturally engage
younger generations, this can involve school clubs, gamified learning,
and even running localized blockchain networks within educational settings.
Promote hands-on experience. Support initiatives that provide students
and developers with practical experience in Cardano tooling and real-world problem-solving through
blockchain and AI convergence. Enable seamless decentralized collaboration. Develop and utilize
effective platforms and processes that facilitate asynchronous collaboration, transparent feedback,
and verifiable decision-making within a distributed and virtual environment.
Implement strategies to sustain consistent consistent engagement and high-quality contributions
across diverse time zones and cultural backgrounds. Provide dedicated growth support
for key applications. Establish programs and resources to offer elite development
and business development assistance to critical apps, facilitating their scaling, volume growth,
and attracting new users and liquidity. Foster collaboration among building teams over competition
where shared goals exist. And finally, position as a premier development platform.
Emphasize Cardano's capabilities as a leading development platform for diverse blockchain paradigms,
attracting builders focused on high-value assets and unique programming models.
Happy Epochs End once again, everybody. I have a hand up from Lord. Thank you for your patience,
Lord. Happy Epochs End. Thank you for joining. Testing, testing one two. Can you hear me? Beautiful.
Hey, excellent. Well, hello everyone. First of all, good morning, good afternoon, good evening,
wherever you are, wherever you might be, and welcome to Epochs End. Um, hey Van, I don't talk much.
I haven't been able to talk much lately. Personal stuff going on. That's all finally over. Hey man,
I wanted to hop up here and tell you thank you directly. On behalf of the community,
on behalf of myself, and on behalf of the people in the future, you show up every five days,
usually like clockwork, and you help bring together all the community members,
and you help spread the news of things that have come to pass over the previous five days, as well
as you help to inspire thought. Provoking conversation. Normally, I want to tell you, thank you,
man. You are valued in this community, and we need you to continue on what you're doing.
And whenever we can get nudes back up here, that'll be even greater, and we can just keep the party
going, man. Thank you for what you're doing, man. Wow, dude, that's you're gonna you just brought
a a mistiness to my to my ojos. So thank you for those kind words. But I will say,
it's always a pleasure to talk with everybody here, and I learn something new in every space.
And It's a it's it's a it's a tree. It's something I look forward to, so I appreciate the support.
But you know, it's it's it's fun, man. It's I'm grateful for this. So don't don't give me
too much credit, please. Hopefully, we'll be having these conversations in forty years. But Lord,
if I may, sir, what was was there anything Cardano related that caught your eye in
the last five days specifically? You know, no wrong answers. Ah, there's a few things dealing with
Cardano projects related, and just as in general, the whole blockchain. You know,
the governance thing is. It's it's here. It's here to stay, and it's thriving. Right,
that's something we all have to concern ourselves with. So, for all the D reps
and the community as a whole, you know, we have to consider the budget.
We have to consider all the different proposals. You know that's one thing that stood out,
but the main thing, above all else, that has been shining bright is the wonderful, magnificent,
rare evo that is taking place this coming week. There's been so many different platforms
or projects that have been speaking about it. All the different spaces, all the community members.
And this seems to be—I don't know—maybe it's just me, but the energy around this particular rare Evo
has is a little different than all the rest. It's like more than just a regular rare Evo.
It's—it's kind of like, I guess, the best way that I can explain it from my point of view.
The way that the Cardano Summit should have been looked at with the same energy
and the excitement—that's what I see happening for this rare Evo. Like those guys, Devrin
and his team over there, dealing with the rare Evo, they have—they've turned this thing into a piece
of the community. It's a monster now, and it's where we go not only to connect as a community,
but to get information on all the cool shit that's been building for the last year and whatnot.
And I look forward to seeing all the different type of live streams
they're going to have available there. And I think they're supposed to be having a couple
of spaces there. I heard some people talking about that. You know, I'm just looking forward to that.
That's where my focus is right now, as opposed to also on the governance side, because as a D rep,
I have to pay attention to that. It's almost time to vote, but seeing the community come together
like this. It it it it touches me in places that haven't been quite touched that way before
because I've been here a long time and to see a thriving community that is not a ghost chain
that is not a cult we are a culture and it's starting to shine the rest of the world
is starting to wake up the the mainstream media has mentioned Cardonal once
or twice you know it's starting to build the momentum that we need and Rare Evo is that focus
right now so that's that's what touched me this last five days. Well said, Lord. I mean,
those are those were two big takeaways from from the last five days for me too.
Is that it does feel like this rare Evo has a little a little bit of everything.
I think is what you were basically saying is it's got governance workshops happening.
It's got all kinds of different projects and you know, kind of blockchain influencers
launching things, announcing things. Dev day has dev day. They have the dev days day coming too,
where all the developers get together and do their nerd thing. We've got development happening.
We got big brain activity. We got governance activity. We got influencer activity. And Charles,
from what I understand, please someone correct me if I'm wrong, but he is going to dive into
the details of the audit, which was done recently to look into some of the.
The whatever you want to call it embezzlement kind of act. Anyways, so from what I understand,
Charles is going to be addressing that at Rare Evo, and please someone correct me if I'm wrong
on that. I don't want to spread fake news, but that'll be huge in itself.
I do know that he mentioned that all the results after everything has been done
and they've given their public announcement in regards to it. Book.io will be publishing the papers
and the the entire. What does he call it? Investigation behind that. The audit,
like official audit report, right? Is going to be. Which is which is totally makes sense
that they would launch that at Rare EVO, but could be wrong about that. Yeah,
I'm looking forward to it because I mean that's going to bury a hatchet in something
that's been just lingering for the better part of two two and a half years now.
People keep bringing it up and talking about it, and it's like, hey, we're done. Let's move on.
Beautifully said, sir. Happy Epox and T Lord, glad glad you joined us today.
Hope you can hang out for a while. We we we're just getting things started here, everybody.
One other story, really quick, that if I could just talk about it, because it's
kind of a breaking news item. I can't say I've I've fully dove into this, but you know, over
the last five days, one of the big things that caught a lot of eyeballs was a snack was added to
I believe it's Crypto.com, right? But they were added to a very big exchange, got Crypto.com.
And it's a big deal, you know. It was that that was very exciting. And just this morning, it appears
that, and again, I'm I'm just getting this information this morning myself.
But there were two Treasury withdrawal governance proposals submitted by SNAC for, I mean, you know,
Treasury withdrawals. I don't know the details, but the widespread perception of these actions
seems to our proposals is that I don't know if they were proper, improperly formatted,
so they were unconstitutional, or if if That it's just assumed by certain community members
that these will be deemed unconstitutional. If anybody has any more information about that, I'm.
It's it's a developing story, like I said. I didn't get the the full gist of what's going on,
but I mean, it's it's been an action packed epoch for snack, right? With with some ups and downs,
it seems like some high highs and some some tough learning experiences. But um, yeah, I mean,
it's a it's an interesting. So much can happen in five days, and at the end of the day,
it's really just the chunks of time that we. Experience the highs and lows together.
That builds up this community. You know, you have to have a piece of the good and the the sweet
and the sour together. And at the end of the day, you know, people with good intentions
stick around, and people who, you know, I mean, not everybody sticks around. But sorry, Lord,
you you were going to say something, buddy? Yeah, I just had a question about the snack proposal.
Was that the catalyst or the treasury? Because I I saw something pop up from Hosky talking about
that. I thought it was the I thought they were treasury withdrawal governance proposals. You know,
for like D reps to vote on and the constitutional committee to. To judge. Yeah,
I don't want to spread fake news. So if anybody has a different perspective on this,
please don't hesitate to to come in. But yeah. And and I mean the big the big point is that it cost
a hundred thousand ADA to to submit these governance actions or to propose them,
and so it's it's kind of a it's a big bag mistake to even be able to make. Really,
you got to have some big old bags to be making. But but again, I don't know the details
of the unconstitutionality. I don't know if it's just assumed by the community that
the cardinal constitution will deem it unconstitutional, or, you know what I mean? So,
it's a developing story as of just a couple hours ago. But L, thank you for joining us, sir.
Happy Epochs End 573. Welcome. Yo, happy Epochs End, brother. Don't think that I'm coming up
with any extra information or anything that I, bro. I came in here to ask you, and you're asking me,
so we're both fucking screwed. Does this, from from what your understanding is,
does that all make sense? What we're yeah no no discussing so far. I I saw that post
from Hosky earlier and it was like Snake asking for money and constitutionally I'm like, what?
And then I start reading it and I'm like, well constitutionality depends on the CC members
and what they deem as constitutional. So, I mean he is part of one of the councils, so I I suppose,
you know his perspective is completely validated. But I would love to hear what the rest of the CC
has to say in regards to constitutionality for their proposal. Thank you for reminding me of that,
L. I completely forgot the new. I mean, the first constitutional committee.
Hosky is a member of a a multi-member consortium. Yeah, one of the councils, effectively. Yeah.
Yeah, one of the councils, exactly. Damn, there's so many layers to this onion.
That's why I need help from everybody. I'll start. I'll break down crying if I try to chop it all
up. That's the problem with governance, right? It's like we don't even have like I don't know what
you would call them, like Congress members. We have like councils of Congress,
so it's like even more cumbersome. The fact that you need to educate yourself. So yeah, bro,
don't feel bad. Wouldn't that be? Isn't that Parliament for you all over there in the UK? Say again,
sorry, Lord brother. Oh, I'm sorry. I said, isn't that kind of like Parliament is over there
where you are? Yeah, exactly. I was going to say MP, but I refrain from going down the British route
because I didn't know if you guys would understand. But yeah, we we have the MPs that have kind
of the constituencies, but now you you can kind of have like a council of people that represent
a member of Parliament. So it becomes even more just confusing, I suppose.
It's consortiums within singular roles within broader consortiums. Yeah,
it's like it's like consortiumception. It is. But I don't know. I don't know what would deem
their proposal as unconstitutional, and I'd be interested. Lord, do you know anything? I mean,
I know you seem like a good part of the husky community for a long time,
so maybe you'd have some insight. Well, the only insight I have is exactly like you. I saw a tweet,
and and I was just confused, and that's exactly what I said. We're going to get to the bottom of it,
guys. Don't worry, we'll get to the bottom of it. This is the best place I joined in a while.
There we go. Yeah, and I will say, coming into the space just in the hour before the space started
up, I was just getting caught up on this this morning events, this morning's events,
this today's events, and it just seemed to me like every big brain governance freak on Twitter
was saying this is unconstitutional and this is gonna cost two hundred thousand ADA.
But between the two, what the fuck is two hundred thousand ADA? I fucked the constitution. Yeah,
we have to have an abundance mindset here when it comes to governance.
We gotta just think in abundance. Well, no, no, no. Let's not do that. But like,
two hundred thousand is two hundred thousand. It's not gonna fucking change anything, really, is it?
Especially like by the time that transactions pile up to the point that they just produce those back
into the treasury. I thought it was a deposit, though, too. I think I think I think
it's unconstitutional because you first have to socialize it, and they put it on chain for a vote
instantly, without socializing a shit. So yeah, but I I don't understand that how so
how can you socialize something that isn't already in a position to be votable like
like you can you can say okay well they should have done an off chain vote
but some people are pushing to change the constitution to be completely on chain anyway so it's
like. Why can't they just go on chain and then socialize it once it's already in a voting position?
Yeah, you have to talk about it. I think we have to look it up in the constitution.
But the constitution says you have to talk about it for X amount of time. No, I understand that.
But what what constitutes socialized? Because like that's the biggest like fucking bullshit term
I always hear in in governance is like socialized. Socialized. What what constitutes a socialized?
A tweet a month ago. If they put out a tweet a month ago, like we won't have money for
for the constitution. Do you do you do you or I mean, know like do you see how how ironic
and hilarious that is? What it is, what it is, right? You have to put it somewhere,
talk about it somewhere, put out a tweet, and you socialize it, right? Maybe they could just.
This is probably specified in the Constitution, though, so we should also get that in here.
I've read a little research on this. No, no, no. I've read the Constitution genuinely.
Like I've read it, page for page, word for word, and it does have some socialization constraints,
but like they're very ambiguous. So that's where I get really frustrated
when people say like socialize and socialize because you can read the passage on socialization.
It's it's not like excessively constrained. No, it's just that you have to talk about it
before you put a vote on chain instantly. So if they just put out a tweet like a month ago
and they can prove it, then I think why? Why a month ago though? Like I mean, I would just say,
well, I think I think it's like five. What is it? Five or six epochs? I think or something.
It has to be socialized for thirty days and then the vote for thirty days, and then you know.
And just to be clear, the constitutional committee is duty bound to vote. On these things,
in accordance to what's ever specified on this topic in the Constitution, you know. So,
regardless of how you know how they feel about it, they technically should just consult
the Constitution. So I'm assuming that's why everybody's coming out quickly. Now,
our Constitution is actually elected, so if they fuck up, is all of our fault actually this time?
Well, what do you think, El? I mean, so so you're saying you don't see the problem with, you know,
a treasury withdrawal being submitted on chain and that being the first time
that the broader data holding. No, I think I think off chain leaves us at. An attack vector,
because effectively what was happening off chain was a bundle position where they'd let you do off
chain votes, and then they put that into one, one hundred k ADA collateral position for a vote
on it. So I think if people do want to go to on-chain entirely, refrain from the off-chain kind
of middleman position that slows us down. Then I think that's completely fine.
And I think like expecting somebody to talk about something before actually submitting it could be
counterintuitive to them being successful on that proposal or treasury withdrawal
or info action because they might be exacerbated by competitors who try to leverage their position
and and create something that is. Competitive to them, and also less effective.
So I think it's it's a lose lose scenario when you're expecting people to socialize,
but everything is collateralized on chain. I'm being sure there's no. I'm sure there's a lot
of people in here who agree with you, my good sir. And we are for anybody who's just joining us.
We're talking about this morning's breaking news events that there were
some some competing viewpoints and different perspectives about. The governance actions,
the treasury withdrawals proposed by SNAC this morning, and their constitutionality,
and and and could someone verify this for me because I'm. I'm just not too bright.
Is it not a one hundred thousand ADA deposit when you say? It's a deposit. It's not. I looked it up.
I looked it up. One hundred K. The socialization has to be. The deposit for me is the same
as collateral. Like the reality is, like they don't take that money away. You get it back,
but you have to put that initial position in to show that you are worth the skin.
You're locking it up. Yeah. Yeah. And I looked it up. The socialization for a governance action is
one epoch. So maybe maybe if you look maybe maybe they put something maybe they announced something
five days ago. Last epoch. And then it is unconstitutional because they socialize it.
If I was the snack team now, I would just wait five days and say we pass socialization. Thank you.
Yeah, but the hundred k is already there for for thirty days. Yeah, I don't know if they get it
back. If they get if they're unconstitutional, they might actually get it back quicker. Yeah,
they get yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. If if if everybody votes unconstitutional,
like what is it, seventy six percent? Even even if there's an unconstitutional vote within
the next however many days, right? Like let's say even just two weeks, for example, right?
They get it back by the third week. Now is already one of the most talked about. Epoch.
The next epoch. The next epoch. Yeah, then they just do it again. Yeah, yeah, that's cool.
And then they have to wait like five days, talk about it, and then they put it on chain again.
Exactly. So then we've just basically wasted two transaction positions,
and and I mean the same ADA that was already collateralized in the first place to do something
that was already done in the first place. But but but they'll miss like what is it?
It's like two epochs of income for the hundred k if they stated. So yeah. I mean, yeah,
but that's not a hundred k claps. So it's about fifty eight or something, isn't it? Yeah.
Just for context, the I think the official tweet from Snec has been that this was intended.
These were these were intended for testnet. Oh, they made a mistake then. Well,
but if you made a mistake, they. Different fold to the story, you know. Yeah, but that's crazy.
They they use, then they made a mistake in selecting the mainnet or the testnet account
within their wallet, right? Or if they. When it looks like Koski responded by basically saying,
"Come on, be honest." Yeah, for real, you ain't making no mistake. It's it's Ada
or it's business Ada, right? So come on, man. Yeah, we we have a. We have Marshasaurus
and of course the Dutch steak pool. Thank you guys for joining. I don't know if I got to say
Happy Epochs End yet, but thanks for popping in, guys. Hope you're doing well. But yeah,
this will be another discussion. Discussion next week. We'll talk about. Don't use that word here.
We we we talk. Yeah, Happy Epochs End. I thought about it. Come up, yeah. So next epoch,
we'll talk about it. We won't talk about it now. Um, yeah. I hope you had a good one. Hope you um.
I hope you all got prepared for rare Evo and all that stuff that you're going to go off and do.
You too, buddy. Thank you for joining us. Hope you can stick around. We have someone
with a new logo, which me like you. It's Epoch, the one and only. What's up?
I don't know if y'all can hear me. I'm in like an epic thunderstorm. It's raining fucking crazy.
You sound pretty good. We can hear some background stuff, but you sound good. Nice. Well, yeah,
I'm going to get a haircut. Gotta get, gotta look good for rare. Let's go. That's commitment.
The guy's walking through a rainstorm to go get a haircut, but he still is here to talk with us all
and. Damn right! Can't stop, won't stop, bitches. Get on my level. Where's Maureen?
She's working on her therapy. Thank you for joining us, though. For sure. Happy Epochs end.
Are we taking snack the court? Are we taking snack the court a lot? So, real quick, Epoch,
what's the big story from the last five days for you? What's front of mind? Well,
I think it's rare though, because I mean, we've kind of. I thought this next thing.
This next thing is hilarious. Two two boshed proposals. I don't. Let's give them some credit though,
too. They got listed on Crypto. Dot com a couple days ago, so that's some good. You know,
that's exciting news. And then they've had some interesting morning. I get it.
They wanted to capitalize on their progress and you know make it happen,
but they were probably high as shit at the time and didn't even consider the process.
And I think they fucked up twice. You can't fuck up twice. You can't be like, I set this on testnet,
and then you do it again. You know what I mean? Like, it was just a bad shot beforehand,
and then they. Anyways, yeah. And then that's going to be unconstitutional, and then blah blah blah.
Like, welcome to governance. You've been governor, but they got another shot, right?
So now they can do it again. They could have delegated PE Popko. They, you know,
I saw a tweet about this. I wish I could remember who posted it this morning,
but they were saying that SNAC is now the first ever entity to submit two unconstitutional.
Treasury withdrawals on the same day, first in Cardano history. So, you know, real quick, just ah,
whatever the the cause of this misunderstanding. Yeah, these ups and downs are partly what
you know help us grow as a community. We take lumps together. We share laughter together.
We give each other pats on the back, and we you know we harsh each other and and roast each other,
and then we we kind of get behind each other. So, none of this is to me you know should be taken as
a. As an indictment against anybody, it's just part of this learning process,
this governance process. It's just funny more than anything. Yeah, and and don't forget,
there at a certain point, one CC member lost their key, so it it it's all good. Hey,
and you know what? One day it's gonna be us, and we're gonna look for grace
and kindness from the community. And you know, again, it's all just about intentions,
whether people's intentions are good or bad, or you know, it's. If I may say, well,
you have to ask the question though. Who who really judges what's good or bad? I mean, you know,
anything that somebody does, especially business related, it can be for the good of the blockchain,
good of the individuals who are there trying to help build for. But someone will always say, "Hey,
you're just scraping cash off the ground." They used to say they said that about a I think
L L. I think you you had brought up some good points about how the Atrium project
when it was releasing, you know, all the money they received from Catalyst and everything,
and now they're charging more. You know, like that was there were good points in what you said.
But at the same time, it is something for the community. But at the same time, there are
other options, right? So you have to—that's a flip of the coin, trying to say what's good or bad.
I'll tell you this, Lord. I'm more concerned about some
of the constitutional treasury withdrawal requests than these two unconstitutional ones.
Tell you that. Oh, interesting. I like that. What what what's concerning to you
about the constitutional ones? What jumps out at you, sir? Well, I mean, it it would be. Unfair
for me to name specific proposals, but I would just say that those who know
how to mediate governance more successfully might be more successful in manipulating
that opportunity as well. So just because somebody is unconstitutional doesn't rectify
that they have an unfair claim on a treasury withdrawal request. They just clearly done it fucking
wrong. And I guess you're talking about those companies that also did it in Catalyst.
And the funny thing is, this epoch, if if you look at the post from the Cardam Foundation.
They abstained on some of. He cut off. Was I just? Oh no, he's back. He cut off. Yeah, he cut off.
So yeah, it's abstain on some of these company that's already got catalyst funding.
It is what it is. How about how about those guys? Because I watch too many movies
and it just it ruined my brain. This epoch and image started to manifest itself in my
in my cerebellum, and that is Hosky in the white trunks with a red stripe and the boxing gloves.
And Hosky versus Snack in the purple trunks, right? Or Hosky has blue trunks. Sorry, whatever.
But the idea is like this: is Cardano's Rocky versus Apollo Creed, right?
And the point of that is they're truly like you didn't read the whole thread, did you?
Because you know the Hosky team are actually helping the Snack guys now with a third proposal. No,
is this no? I I mean, but that's the point. At different point, Husky and Rambo,
they respect each other. They they brought the best out of each other as a community. But you know,
Husky always make jokes, and he couldn't care less if because he knows if everybody's yeah,
if everybody's getting listed on some exchange, he'll get there as well. So he's just making fun.
Yeah, I mean, there was in in the thread, there was a conversation between Husky and Goofy Crisp,
where they said that they're in contact now and. Helping snack resolve,
so I think it's more about just making fun of them because they were fucking idiots than it is like
any sort of deep rooted. No, of course, of course, and and it's based on a respect
and but just maybe it's more friendly competition. But you know, Rambo in later years
and in the later films, he helps mentor, you know, the the next generation of creeds out
of just admiration for for the father. So you know what I mean? It's
a beautiful competitive relationship that that brings out the best in both projects,
and they're both animal based. They both have they both have dedicated, excited,
passionate holders of the tokens and the NFTs and these things. It's like it's
a beautiful competition, but anyways, I don't mean to make it more than it is.
It's just you're sick. You wanted to fight till they die. I don't, and I don't see it as that.
I just see it as this like beautiful, iconic. I think they're both really great images too, though,
that have truly like engaging characters. Like I think they have, they both have the makings,
and there are other projects, of course, too. I'm just saying of the two
that are have really blown up as of now. You know, it's like it's just a fun competitive thing
to see between, you know, Cardano native token projects. And there, of course,
are going to be more titans added to the mix over time. Many of them are already active now,
just waiting for this that moment on the big stage where they break through.
A rare Evo after the glacier drop. Yeah, we got some. Yeah, sorry, go ahead. No, go.
I want to talk about the glacier, and I think you were going into that too. No, no. That actually,
please go ahead. It brought up a glacier thought for me, so. Yeah, you go first with the thought,
and there was news also, right, about the glacier drop. So. Yes, there was, sir.
We got the official. Amounts and distribution for different blockchains,
and I believe it's for every it's it's like for every thousand ADA you'll get three hundred dust.
Is that is that correct through the glacier drop? Point three four six six. Title you to that much?
Point four six six ADA. Word of mouth. Point three four six six. Yes. Okay. Yeah. Right.
So for every one ADA you have, you'll get. Oh fuck me. Anyways, you guys get the idea.
No point three. No point three. Yeah, zero point three. Um. But yeah, that's exciting,
and I think we're gonna get the last little piece of, or is it is it gonna begin at Rare Evo,
or is it are we gonna find out the official date at? Let's hope so. I don't know. Something. Yeah.
There was a space yesterday, and we kept prodding Dave, running some of the rare guys,
and we were like, "Oh, is it gonna be Glacier Draw?" But the blah blah blah, and he didn't say no.
So that's all I'm saying. Hey, I'll I'll throw this out there. I know lace, uh, the Lace Wallet
is supposed to be one of the main wallets that you can do a direct claim from.
So I guess keep your eyes on there. Um. Their socials just to see if they release something,
and also midnight socials here on X, like directly deal with them and the Discord. Other than that,
we don't know what's gonna go on, and look out for the fake tokens, because you know
they'll be here soon enough. Yep, that's. Bro, they said Charles is driving the midnight bus
at Rayivo to Top Golf in the morning, so I'm gonna ask him, sit right next to him, and say, Charles,
when's the glacier airdrop? Hey, you already in Vegas? The order bus? Nah, nah, nah, nah.
I'm in the UK still. I travel Monday. Man, I hope it drops during Rare Evo because a lot
of wheels are there. So I can say that my computer claim it price go up.
I can sell it before everybody else. That's at Rare Evo. So, oh, you degenerate, degenerate.
You know, I do remember Rare Evo appearing at an Epoch's end, and and when somebody mentioned like
midnight drop, they they just had this like mischievous laugh, although they didn't confirm
or deny anything, but then immediately mentioned that there's going to be like ATM demos,
different Hydra demos happening for giveaways and. Like Cardano ATMs, and so I—I mean,
it would be pretty sweet if it was like an interactive live drop at the event. Yeah,
because they gotta do—they're gonna do a lot of treasure hunts as well, right after the drop.
So it'll be nice if people could play the Doom over there, and then again earn some dust if you win.
Oh my goodness! Oh my goodness! God, the future is bright, people, especially
if you live in Las Vegas, because you're surrounded by blinding signs and billboards and buildings,
all designed. To draw your attention, and eventually your physical presence within their walls,
so that they can extract as much money from you as humanly possible, as fast as possible.
I thought that were the women of the night and the and the weed places that did all that. No,
my friend, it's these Las Vegas hotels and gambling pavilions. Oh my goodness. It's like a drug.
It's it's like the whole city itself is. What do you mean by ladies of the night?
What do you mean by that? Damn, that was a late reaction, El. That was real late.
You know exactly what that means. They're draining you of all of your money. I mean,
money better spending on NFTs. I'll tell you that. I don't know. I have some real nice NFTs.
Same outcome, and still you can have some NFTs, El. So still worthless after one night. All right.
All right. You guys get what I'm saying, though. Just be just be cautious. You know,
go with a set budget for the trip and just stick to that. Fuck that, don't allow
yourself to get sucked into. Get all of your money, gamble it all. If you put it all on black,
don't worry. They got tunnels underground. When you kill these, they got tunnels.
They just get rid of it. Don't worry about it. It's just here's the thing.
Anything that can give you that sense of just pure excitement and adrenaline and fun and just
where you're just totally immersed in it and swept up in it. Anything that can give us that feeling
can also trap us and lock us in hell. Forever, and it's just a virtue of the two sides of the coin,
you know. And just be on guard. There's a lot of vampires alive in Vegas. I mean, you're right,
but stop saying it because I need to scam people this time. No, but you can still have fun in Vegas.
I'm not saying don't go to Vegas and don't have fun. It's just, it's a unique place. No,
just don't throw your entire life away on one weekend. You'd be surprised how many people go to
Vegas and things aren't the same when they come back. Happens to the best of us.
That's why you need to go to Vegas when things already suck when you leave.
Just stick to the Cardano related stuff. And you know. Well, you know what they say.
You know what they say. Elvis went there and never left. Exactly, and that's basically what the city
's designed to make you feel like Elvis in his prime. That's what you're supposed to feel like
as you cruise into Vegas. No matter who you are, you should feel like fucking Elvis in
the early 70s. I don't feel the same. The same goes for Spiderman, Batman.
They all went during the Silver. Batman's in Gotham City, bro. He's also in Vegas.
I can tell you that. I mean, let's be honest. The city of Vegas shouldn't even exist.
It makes no sense why it's there. It was literally created as a way to just gamble illegally
in a place that was remote. So they're like, let's pick this fucking desert, you know? Is it a city?
It's really not. It's like a collection of electrical nodes and and different. I mean,
it just doesn't even exist. It's like a decentralized, bro. They have all the they all
they all have control of the SBOs. All right, I don't even know what we're talking about anymore.
But happy epoch end five seventy three, everybody. We have
Cardano's most Consequential thought leader, and Damien. I was gonna say L,
but every everybody is welcome to speak here. We're just talking all things Cardano,
the Snack project, and some of their recent developments. We've been coming to
a better understanding of it together here as a as a community. Where is anybody?
Get somebody from the Snack community in here. Somebody tag like yeah. You read my mind,
sweet motherfucker. Like get them in here. So we can just yeah. Let's get some snack heads in here
and and let's balance it out. Not that we're trying. I wonder why it's been constitutional. Yeah,
I mean let's get some different perspectives. I bet you. I bet you it's the it's the five day.
You're probably right. Socialization. I bet you. That makes a lot of sense. Yeah. Yeah. Where's CK?
One of the founders. Is CK? Yeah. Yeah. CK. Well, yeah. Even if you have something
non-snack related, everybody's welcome to speak. We have about 45 minutes until.
The formal end of epoch five seventy three. Oh, did you see? Um, this to to put it back to crypto.
Did you see Coinbase tried to release a Coinbase advert in the UK and then they got it,
but they got banned for it. They weren't allowed to release it in the UK
and then they posted it on Twitter today. I didn't know that, but what is? Tell us more. Base.
It was basically just them kind of making fun of the fact that the UK is completely drowning
and nobody owns anything and we're all screwed. And they were like, uh, just come to Coinbase,
basically saying like this is the next step towards a change in progressive currency for everybody.
Oh shit! Yeah, it was really impressive, but. Yeah, got banned from from being on air.
Makes you think maybe they expected it to get banned, or we're like maybe that was part
of the marketing strategy because they're like, we can just post it on social media and people. No,
I think you're right. I I think it's guerrilla marketing. I think it would have been very surprised
if it was live, like if it was ad, sorry, as an ad. Just shows how powerful social media platforms
are too for just distributing. I mean, you don't need. I guess you technically need.
There's some restrictions, but it's such a different environment to share content, right?
That might be. A little bit contrarian to the mainstream or what you're saying on mainstream media.
It's funny because I think like if you look at it, the mainstream probably loved it initially
with like Yahoo and Ask Jeeves and all this bullshit, and they thought, oh,
we can control them even more on this. And then like they were like, wait,
people are actually posting their own things, and now it's like, oh,
like they've actually just lost control of the internet PR at this point,
and people just do whatever they want. So I think, yeah, I think there's a huge shift
from the opinion of the mainstream to like more broader approaches now.
And I think Coinbase releasing that today was just a big fuck you to the UK government, really.
And what is the root of this kind of UK reputation? Because I am
a very just a narrow-minded Californian resident, but for England, it seems
like everybody's constantly kind of just throwing out little insults about you know security
and and sovereignty and these things when it comes to the internet. Is it like
particularly restrictive? No, it's a hundred percent spot on. Like you know,
I think the thing about like British people, right, is like we're stuck in
like the eighteen hundreds and we still think that we're like cool and we colonize the world
and stuff. But like the reality is that like our country is fucked. To be honest with you, like.
Bottom line is this place sucks, and that that entire thing is kind of shifting.
I think a lot of people are shifting on that opinion now. Wow, that's wild. America rules the world.
Tell you that. Jeez. What do you think of L? What what do you what would you say to someone
who was just born? In California, by the ocean, like what, what kind of stupid luck would you say
that that would be to just? I wouldn't be mad at them. I'd just say congratulations. I mean,
hope I would just say stay away from blue hair dye. Try to think objectively rather
than being victimized by UCLA. Try not to be a victim of Turning Point USA,
and now you're a CIA Israeli cock sucking media analyst that lies on TV all day.
But I would say God bless you. I say God bless you. Thank you, baby Jesus, for giving us.
Young human being, a blessing of being in the power of the American, you know, civilization,
and in one of the most wealthiest, fortunate places on earth. I mean,
people want to be hateful so much. I think as long as they don't get blue hair dye
and go die for their country in the middle of fucking nowhere, they'll be all right. Wow,
what a what a what a packed statement that was! Just packed with different pieces. Yeah, sorry,
I don't know what I don't know what's going on with me today. Sorry. It's okay, guys.
We're we're here to talk all things Cardano. Sometimes the the conversation takes it veers,
but then we always we crank the wheel back to the center. And but bro,
do you know what I do you know what actually to add to it? Please, I'll say to them,
as soon as you can, just rug. Like as soon as you get into your eighteen, nineteen, twenties,
and if crypto's still the exact same way that is and hasn't really come to this like full fruition
of decentralized ideology of utopia, just fucking rug everyone, bro. You're in California,
you know they're probably not gonna really put you in jail. Like just rug everyone, get rich,
and then do whatever you want. Beautiful. Beautiful words of inspiration,
from L. Here at Epoch's end, five hundred and seventy-three. Thank you, everyone, for joining.
It's been an action-packed five days here on Cardano. We just a just a few things that
we haven't really touched on yet. You know, Minswap officially has a kind of the wheels
are fully spinning for their dex aggregator tool. I believe I saw that Strike Finance
is now has integrated the the aggregator on their platform. Please feel free to correct me if I'm
wrong on this, but no, no, no, you're right. That's that's that's big. I mean,
that seems like a very consequential thing. And did you see as well? Strike is the leading uh,
or DAP on Karana with the most predominant amount of users and transactions,
with majority 51% on Strike now. So a powerful team up, a powerful team up,
and a great first partner for the or not partner, but integrator of the the Dex aggregator. Okay,
too many big words, but I thought it was interesting that you know Minswap. Has the kitty cat right?
And when every time you do a trade, you if you fucking have your headphones plugged in or something,
and you forget, and then you hear a fucking cat just purring right in the back of your eardrums
as you click trade. Anyways, it's funny, and their mascot is a cat. And then of course we had
the wonderful Macassi Planet project, also a cat-based mascot. Announced
that they are formally going offline and open sourcing the project as it exists up to this point.
I think sometime this month. So you know, one cat is growing in strength and and agility,
and the other cat has been less fortunate, and and it's going to be closing up the doors.
But shout out to Makasi! I don't know if we have any Makasi heads in here, Makasi Planet Gaming.
I think we'd had some some kind of dour news from Makasi in the past few months,
and I don't think this really shocked anybody. But you know, if anybody else is.
You know what I feel like Macosy is. Macosy is like that one family member that like gets some sort
of weird viral infection, then they're in a coma for like three months, and then and then they die,
and it's like, bro, like you were already in a coma for so long, like no offense. Yeah,
that is so dark. I mean, I hate to cut you off, but I mean, could it get more dark for an analogy?
No, I don't think so. Can you think of anything darker, please, to compare? Yeah, I mean, you know,
they're kind of like that one family member that like dies and then comes back to life. All right,
okay. All right. I I okay. If you start talking about Buffy, I want to know
what else gonna say about them. But yeah. So we we those were the kind of dual fates
of the kitty cats in this this this epoch. We also I don't know if you guys saw this,
but what was it? I'm sorry, it was just at the front of my mind and then it evaporated.
I don't know. Oh oh, Hosky's been kicking up all kinds of shit. That's right.
So he earlier in the epoch, I mean we didn't even really talk about the Cardinal Foundation
fully publicly, you know, stating that they were going to be abstinent.
And I actually jotted this down in my notes: Hosky versus the Foundation due to their abstinence.
It's it's their prerogative, right? They can do, they can abstain, and we were talking about it.
Damien, can you give the people in the space just a little more context? You know,
just to get everybody up to speed on the abstain. The Cardano Foundation
has abstained on some of the thirty-nine. What was it? Thirty-nine proposals. They abstained
and treasury withdrawal, treasury withdrawal action. And it was either Hosky
or Adam Dean put out a post like Cardano Foundation doesn't want Cardano to be developed
or something like that. Maintained. I have to look up the post. And that's because they abstain
a couple of the, yeah, a couple of the the the projects that are helping Cardano maintain
and stuff like that. But I thought the I thought the root of the the conflict was
that they were specifically IOG related or adjacent. No, it's IOG, M Labs,
and some of the other old school project or teams on Cardano. And and it's a great opportunity
for us to discuss, you know, briefly. The abstinance vote is essentially saying,
if I don't vote on this governance action, that that you know that lack of a vote equates directly
into a no vote. Nah, I see it as if abstinance is saying, hey, take me out of the voting pool,
take take me out of this conversation, or let everybody else. Yeah, or let the community decide.
We don't want our power as a founding entity to have anything to do with it.
Let the community decide. So you you can look at it a couple of ways, right? Yeah,
but just just like for the actual mechanism itself, abstaining is not the same as no.
And I think people put that into the same pot a lot of times conceptually,
like especially on social media, is like abstain means no, it means negative.
But if you look at if you look at Ada's stats, if if you wanted to say that everybody's acting
like they voted no, you know, it's like dude, they just abstain, they abstain, and and they
and they voted no on some of them, and if you but but the the the problem also is I don't know.
If it's like that, but if you look at, for example, Ada says, you see the no
and the abstain in the same order. So the no and abstain, it's like no. So it's great.
I don't know if it works like that. If you abstain, then you get a no. No, no, no.
It's it's actually more it's actually more worthless if you don't vote at all
because that constitutes two a no. Whereas like an abstain is just effectively a not not even a vote
at all. You yeah, but if you look at but if you look at Ada says and and the the the the numbers
and the percentages, the abstain is in the same pot as the no. So. Yeah, I don't know. Yeah, well,
either side just need to get at work. It's just a communication breakdown. Yeah. Yeah. I mean,
abstain isn't great because it just means that there's less voting power constituted to
your proposal. So I mean, still, it's it's not what you want, but it's better than an effective. No,
yeah, because then it's you're actively against it, and I was like, you're, I don't care.
It's like I don't care, and and go vote for it. And I I believe Charles tweeted about this as well,
like something to the effect of, well, I guess mommy and daddy aren't getting back together. Yeah,
because because they abstain that all of the founding, all of the the the entities that are.
So again, if you're if you're learning about this from Charles's tweet,
you might be forgiven for going, oh my god, he's pissed. So like this must mean
they're voting against him and. You know, and and so it kind of like snowballs. That's true,
but but everybody knows Charles doesn't like the CFs. Can I can I can I put a theory out there
and just just indulge me, guys, for like this? I'll I'll wrap this up quick, but you know,
Charles has to have a an oppositional, contrarian relationship with the Cardinal Foundation
for them to even have a purpose. For existence, in my opinion, like
whether or not he loves Frederick or fucking hates his guts, they have to present publicly
that there is conflict, there are opposing ideas and opinions, and there is not
some seamless workflow and unanimous agreement. It would just defeat the whole purpose
of the foundation. Maybe I have a misunderstanding, but the foundation owns Cardano.
They own the fucking yeah the name Cardano. They own the logo. They own everything.
And so the whole point of it is to separate that from Charles. Not entirely true.
There are some people that have ownership to the Cardano brand that are not just CF. Oh, see,
I didn't know that. But I mean, I thought they own all the copyrights for stuff,
and not just Charles either. Charles basically got kicked out of CF by the Swiss government,
so I think, of course, he's against them. I wouldn't be with them at all if was kicked out.
But again, the point of the foundation was to demonstrate that this is not a centralized network,
right? We have different actors, and it was to like kind of legally codify that on the global stage.
And I mean, I don't know. It seems like it would be self defeating
if Charles was constantly getting rubber stamped by the foundation and vice versa,
and It's almost like it's it's reassuring to see him kind of going head to head with them
and them having these. No, you're right. I I agree and disagree to be honest with you.
Like I I think what you're saying is completely true. Um, I think that it's important to have
different perspectives, and I think that it's important to challenge each other.
But I think that the current position is less about a centered approach
where we challenge each other just objectively, more than it actually is just. Deeper than that,
I think it's more than that, and and I think sometimes it's less than just about oh are these
the best people for it or they not? I I think sometimes there's like more emotions to it
and it's more connected than just black and white. Of course, no and and yeah of course for sure.
And there and there are great developers and people working at CF and at IOG,
so it's it's a little bit of problem if you pit them against each other because it isn't good
for the Cardano as a whole. That raises a question for me. Well, L, you might be
able to answer this. Didn't you used to work for a CF a while back, like years ago? No,
I worked for Reflect, which was an IOHK subsidiary to a degree. Like there was a fund from Charles
with C Fund, but I'd never worked for IOHK, CF, or Emergo in like just directly. Okay. Well, see,
then that that raises the biggest question because when the CF first started, well,
when everything was coming together in Cardano, their job was originally to concentrate on
the enterprise level of the partnerships and the deals and and things that needed to get built.
And I have like every time I see something about Fred Gugard, you know, and and the CF,
they're always talking to community members, projects that are building, like Iagon, for instance.
That was the most recent one that was, you know, big in the news for Cardano side of things,
you know. And IOHK, as we know, are the original developers who started building out here, you know,
in this blockchain. So my question is, what are they not doing as opposed to what?
Is actually happening behind the scenes, you know, because this thing is still moving forward.
Things are still getting built. It's just right now we're dealing with a bunch of the politics.
I'll just use that word. A bunch of yeah. I think no. I think you're spot on,
and and I think you're being quite concise about it, which is difficult at the moment,
considering how elaborate it is, but. I think IOHK is continuing to develop.
I think that the whole treasury proposal position is being quite cumbersome for them as a company.
I mean, I think that Charles spoke about it directly in regards to how granular it was,
and and them having to wait, you know, nearly eight eight to nine months for the entire process,
and on a limb of whether they will get funded or not without having some sort of understanding
of what the the fruition of this will be, um, because it's all up in the air until now, effectively.
And I I think CF seems, you know, and and and I'm happy to be wrong, but they seem very Interested
in just main core of sustainability, you know. We did see the Reeve come from them,
which was kind of like ordered in your business on Cardano, and that was open source,
which was great. And you know, they have done some other stuff recently, the Rust Node,
the Rust Node as well. Exactly. Again, you know, there's been some stuff over the last, I would say,
three to four months now, especially where they kind of ramped up a bit, which has been nice to see.
But I, I still think is inadequate personally. But I think CF is thinking more about
how can they stay afloat. And and really hold on to that money, whereas IOHK is like we want money
to keep building, and I think IOHK has spent more time focusing on stuff that
they shouldn't have been doing, and Emergo and CF has been doing, and I think
they've all been quite. Confusing in regards to where they've actually ended up working on.
It doesn't seem like it was the initial layout. Yeah, CF needs to get out of the dark
because they do a lot of shit and we don't even know they're doing that. That that's.
Say that again. Say that one more time, please. The CF needs to get out of the dark because they do
a lot of shit and we don't even know that they're doing it after the fact. We are oh, CF did this,
CF did that, but but if they were more in the news or even on Twitter or whatever,
then you'll see that they are doing stuff. And yeah, even if Charles likes it or not,
they're they're doing stuff. Yeah. And you know something in the sorry, Lord,
but something in the past that was mentioned specifically by Charles is like IOG is
the lead developer for Cardano, but that role is is separated, departmentalized
or compartmentalized, whatever it is, from the actual ownership of the Cardano network, right?
Exactly. But but I was under the impression that you know over time. The Cardano community,
the ADA holders themselves, will be in control, right? And the gradual kind of shaving of the power
away from the founding entities, not so that they're powerless, but that they have much, you know,
lower levels of influence. But we're talking on like a five to ten year track, right? And in
that five to ten year track, what if a new company wants to compete with IOG,
or what if Charles says, "Hey, I want to retire," and IOG is going to have new leadership and This
or that, right? Like all these potentialities. What if Apple says, "Hey,
we want to become the lead developer. We think we've got the shit to back it up." I mean,
that can that can happen now. That can happen now. Yeah. And okay, so that's my point though.
Is the foundation's role in that is to separate the a lot of the legal. You know, just fucking down
and dirty paper, paperwork, level stuff for that process. Yeah, but but you know how that works,
right? Because the foundation is in Europe, and Europe has all these regulations
and stuff for innovation. In America, it's like I got an idea, I got money, I'm gonna build it.
And in Europe, it's like, okay, you got an idea, you got money, uh. How's the prices is gonna go?
How's this gonna do? But that's the point. You know what I mean? If you are in
the most highly regulated area, and this is the entity you need to be having handle
global regulatory stuff, yeah, isn't that good? You know, because then it's you just start with
the most challenging peak, and then I would say no. I would say no, honestly,
and I think that's why it doesn't really matter what CF has to say to some degree, because when the
when the community and and and I mean they have we have D reps right, which are effectively members
of parliament, right? When the D reps are sitting there and they're going, okay, well,
who do we want to develop? Cardano, they're gonna go well. The guys who kept doing it,
and they're just gonna give IOHK the money. I mean, that's what I think is gonna happen. I
and I'm I'm hopeful it happens because nobody else is gonna be. Or else, you're right.
Or else somebody else. Even if you hire Twig, right? Like, let's say you got Twig
because because IOHK has been working really closely with Twig, and they want them on board
on Cardano, and they've been working with them. You go okay. We want to hire Twee.
We want to just skip out of IOHK. You go okay. Well, who does Twee go to?
They go to fucking IOHK to build on Cardano. So the reality is like CF's voice right now in regards
to the operations of Cardano is not as warranted because the D reps don't really care.
They're gonna vote for IOHK. And Charles also said it. CF was was not supposed to be
a development company, right? And now the moment they start development developing a node.
I think it's a good idea to check for second note, but now Charles is saying, yeah,
because they started the note, we have to postpone layers because now we have to integrate the note
of CF and everything. Well, and he's like, hey, we're the lead developers;
they're supposed to be handling the regulatory stuff. So why are we adjusting development based on
their developments? You can kind of see that perspective. So even if they're doing something,
I wouldn't want Bill, I wouldn't want to develop anything. Like if I was in CF
in the Swiss government, like you're looking at. That's Charles's point. He's like,
why are you guys developing shit? Just do the paperwork, you dipshits. Bro,
have you seen European GDPR? Like, like data protection. Like, bro, this having any sort of data
in the UK is unbearable. Like, you have a 21 day limit. Like, you can't have
any personal information. Like, bro, AI is a problem. Any data is fuck. AI is a problem in Europe,
in the Netherlands as well. Man, training our data, man, you get fined for
for every person's address or whatever you got in in your database. Yeah. Well,
and and just to be clear, you know, Cardano Foundation I believe is in the top five biggest D reps
on Cardano right now. So when I say that their power will be whittled down, that's what I mean.
They'll still have a lot of influence in their capacity as the international foundation spearhead,
right? But literally right now, they have a big sway on things and. I do kind of understand
that Charles is like, hey, we've, you know, we don't have this perfect track record
where everything has worked, but we have a secure, sustainable, and growing blockchain
that's never gone down, and that's because of developments that we've spearheaded,
fulfilling our role. And the foundation isn't forfeiting any of its responsibilities by voting yes
on that. That's true. But some of the biggest DREPs, I think it were five or six already,
said we're gonna vote yes on everything IO does because they, they create,
they they build the chain, so. I think IO is they are in a good position.
I understand both perspectives. If you look at the top ten, if you look at the top ten,
the reps you're looking a forty one percent majority active stake position.
If you're looking at the CF, it's less than ten percent. You're looking a thirty one percent
to thirty four percent in majority stake that are positive towards IOHK.
So the the reality is only the top ten really matter. The the other ones after that are
just a mini school. Everybody matters. In the long run, they will if there are
more people participating. As long as they don't, it's the the the what is it? Top twenty
or top top fifteen, whatever. Yeah. The top bro, the top twenty is like sixty four percent.
Like yeah, exactly. Top ten is forty one. So the top ten is demonstrable. Like you,
it's just the Japanese mafia. Like you speak to them, you're good with them. You're looking good,
and if you don't, then you fucked up. It also strikes me on the card on the next. Like sorry.
Oh sorry, yeah. The from the foundation's perspective too, they're like, dude,
we're not even voting no against you. That's why partly I feel like there is an element
of performative, and and maybe Charles would scold me, and tell me I'm an idiot,
and and maybe I just smoke too much cannabis. But I feel like it's
almost this social media performative thing of like, hey, we're at odds with each other, darn them,
and then you know, foundation being like, oh well, we're not going to give you the yes,
we'll give you the widely misunderstood abstain, and it's like that's their.
It's almost like a choreographed. But think again, right? Because hear me out, right?
So abstain is a way for them to be synonymous with a no, but also ineffective with a no, right?
So like let's say let's say they vote no, right? And they have like 300 mil, blah blah blah,
and the proposal still gets a massive 70% majority. It looks even worse because they voted no,
and it shows how worthless their opinion is. Yeah, I don't know about that, but you might be right.
Well, no, I'm not. I'm not saying that's a fact. Yeah, but you're right, though. You're right,
though. I'm just saying in that scenario, right? Like that's that's a hypothetical scenario
that could come to fruition. Yeah, could come if you've no, and everybody else says yes.
That is like, what are we even doing? Exactly. They're ringing the shame bell,
and you're walking down the steps naked because you're doing, you know, the shame walk.
Like that's the reality. Like you've been a pessimist towards a development proposal and an update,
and it's. Gone against you, and you look a fool now. So you know, there's multitudes to politics
in that way, and I and I think they have to be very, very smart about it because it goes both ways.
Then in this scenario, I'm gonna apply for a job at CF because they're too much in the dark, man.
They need to get out of the dark. Lead developer at the Cardano Foundation. Nah, no developer.
Then I'm. Then I'm. Then it's done. I don't even need to come to spaces. Yeah,
I'm a developer at CF. Wait, what? Thankfully, bro. When when Kate goes there and circled around,
you fucking better go home. You're not getting no top dive nowhere. Wait, what does that mean?
I don't understand. Have you seen? They have great devs at CF, mind. Yeah, they they do. Like Ktor,
Ktor's is one of the best devs at CF, bro. Like absolutely unbelievable.
They also got a Dutch guy that was one of the what was it? The icon developers as well.
So they got a lot of good devs. That's what I'm saying. Like don't diminish CF development teams
because they have some really fucking. Well, no, I'm doing the opposite of that.
I mean to do the opposite, which is I think that might be the core part of Charles's resentment
towards the foundation. It's like, hey, we got to do this wrestling match thing,
but like you're actually doing real dev shit, and it's like affecting our dev shit.
And I add to that actual genuine frustration. Not that it's bad. I'm not saying that's okay.
It's just if they both building the same thing at the same time. It's a problem. Yeah, you're right,
though. It's waste. Waste of funds. I remember you're in a room about that, like last year.
You were in the Cardano summit. I remember somebody coming in the space and say, "Okay, El,
we had a hackathon, and Fred was asking, 'Can we build midnight without IOHK?' And you know,
don't take it for fact, but like, if that is true." And that is something they were interested
in doing, and right, it would just be a huge waste of resources. Say that one more time. I'm sorry.
What was the? I heard a rumor, and again, don't quote me on it because the number is true.
But the Fred was asking people if it would be plausible to make something like Midnight
without iOSK. Obviously, you can. Frederick Gregard from the Cardano Foundation, right? Yeah, yeah.
So there was a rumor. That was a rumor, right? You know, and Damon's here as well. So you know, we.
I'm happy to be wrong. I hope that isn't what he said, but if it is, it's such a huge waste
of resources. Like, why is not one person focusing on that and somebody else focusing on
something bloody else? We don't need two Midnights, like for God's sake. Yeah,
and and the rumor—it was a crazy rumor. Ah, ah, interpreted like they're gonna build something
after midnight because it's a partner chain, right? So CF could. Use the goat, something else.
But we need more partner chains because that—that's the entire reason.
But if CF comes with a partner chain, you already know. Well, you know,
I I spoke to some of the world mobile token communities, and they say WMC,
which is their partner chain, is supposed to be coming out in weeks now. So, like for me,
if that's true, then that insinuates the midnight is going to come first,
and it's probably likely to come in the very soon foreseeable future if WMC is, you know,
supposed to be propagated within the next few weeks. Whoa, that is wild.
I had not—I was not privy to these rumors. But Lord, that is spicy. Well, that's that's the problem,
though. And when it's rumors, you're just in an empty minefield, and you're like,
which way do I walk, and which one's the right path to the golden brick road?
But some of it you gotta hope is true to a to a degree, because you're like, fuck,
I'm trying to make conspiracy theories, yeah. I can only be wrong so many times.
I can only be wrong one for every two minutes, you know what I mean? But it's better
than being wrong every once every one minute. So you guys, we get you everywhere.
We we have we have so much to. I just want to throw this out real quick. We got LSD,
virtual reality, Minecraft, brainwave. First-person blockchain Mario before we got GTA Six, okay?
And of course, I'm talking about Quantum Hasky. Incredible. We got to get to that at some point
in this space, but we also have Epoch rejoining us. I don't know what's on your mind, sir,
but welcome back. Uh, about five pounds less hair, but um, oh, we got feeling good
and post barber shop. That's incredible. That's right. That's right. I'm officially clean.
My mullet is gone. I'm sorry for those of you who wanted to see the mullet in its glory.
You bald now? He's fresh ink so clean, so fresh as a king. I think that I think
the politically politically correct term is balding, but um, was it just the was it
just the the top portion, or did you do a full manzilian wax? I did the manzilian. Yeah,
they wax all the creases. It's crazy. So you're bald. You're bald. Bald, bald, just like me. Yep.
Yep. Yep. Okay. Except, except you won't be it rare for me to talk about your baldness. That's true.
Rub it in. I mean, it's not my fault y'all missed the the conference of the Bull Run. I mean,
come on. I guess you could still make it to. I'm gonna get you, E. Park, for doing Damian like that.
When I see you, I'm gonna go bald, bald, bald. My eyes, my eyes, it's thinning. Oh man. It's true.
Well, you know what did what did everybody think of the Quantum Husky launch on IOG? Was it?
It wasn't really a launch. It was more like. You're right. Sorry. It was a formal announcement.
Yeah, I I don't know. I'm hoping that they show me something. At Ray Evo on like the fourth day,
and then I could just do crack and scream and scream. Have you guys? So,
for those that might have missed it this morning, Fareed from DAP Central had trim on there,
and they went into a deep dive on what Quantum Husky is supposed to be, what it offers,
and everything. So, if you all hop on YouTube later on after Epic End, you can check out DAP Central
and check that out. It just came out. I'll watch that, but give me give me like give me like a loud,
high level paraphrase. This is what the fuck this shit is. All right, so. Number one,
there is no quantum husky token yet. It's just husky token that shall be utilized on
the quantum husky game. It's dish brains involved NPCs that do whatever the hell they want,
and a lot of poo getting flung around. And the game looks like it's acid.
So that's the high-level overview. Enjoy. Did you say NPCs or MCPs? NCP NPCs. I'm sorry.
I heard PC non-playable characters. And you just pay. You own nothing of the Abbey.
You're gonna run around with a with a Nike bag, though. You're gonna run around with a Nike bag.
Okay, one of the I don't know if you guys saw this, but one of the partnered projects
or companies is the creator of the Crown. I think they're called Neuronics or Neutronics
or something, but they have a literal brain scanning crown, like a consumer brain scanner,
and it's used to like you know help people with I believe it's like you know stress.
I don't even know. I think it's for like stress management or work productivity.
To track what's going on in your head, but you're gonna be able to use that in Quantum Husky,
from what I understand, it's gonna influence. That sounds crazy. So first, at NFTLV,
they they they scan your entire body, and now they're gonna scan your brain at the rare.
Scan my fucking thoughts. Like what the fuck? What level of surveillance is this?
It sounds pretty fun though. Imagine a world that's dynamic. You remember
when Worldcoin just wanted to scan your retina? You know what I mean? Everybody thought
that shit was shady as hell, or you know. They can have your fingerprint, everything. Next step,
consciousness. I'm gonna live forever on the blockchain. Flying through space.
I don't want to live forever, bro. I'm just kidding, guys. We have a new speaker joining us.
It's Andrew. Wait, so hold on. Is it a video game? I didn't. I still didn't catch it.
So it's a video game about Doctor. Took acid and started floating through an endless world
of possibilities, based on the most cutting-edge technologies known to man. So like the Matrix,
but Hosky is Neo. What? I'm so confused. No, you are Neo, and Hosky is the Matrix. Morpheus. Oh,
bro is the entire Matrix. And Charles is the key maker from the later films, but Charles the red.
You got to make up the. Charles is the red pill. Charles is the red pill. No, no,
I like the key maker. That's hilarious. Thank you. Keys open doors every. Let's.
We have a we have a patient hand raised by Andrew Goldrash. Thank you for joining us.
Happy Epoch's end. Happy Epoch's end, everyone. Um. So okay, so these dish brains,
like who keeps them alive? The neurons, the neurons in the in the dishes. The hard drive.
Stake pool operator. The stake pool operator. Electricity. Preferably. So anyway,
so those things create randomness, and then we we allow Charles Hoskinson to read our brainwaves,
and then we use visual visual stimulation created by dish brains and other stuff,
maybe LSD that we put in our own brains, and then and then it reads our brainwaves,
and we play the game with our brainwaves. Is that kind of the general ID?
There's not enough storage. You missed the nuptiality. I think. There's not enough storage to save
all that because if they want to save my brain, they're going to every party in the Netherlands.
It's gonna be, it's gonna be crazy. I think you might have missed the nipple stem as well. I was,
I think, I'm pretty sure I heard that. You'll earn double in-game tokens if you attach
an electrified clamp to your testicles as you play. Log in with Facebook to 2x
your brain scan power. Like, dude, what happened? The new difficulty rating.
What's that pink thing that all the people on OnlyFans are using? Like,
could we do that with our brains through the internet and shit? Yeah, that sounds quantum.
So everybody's gonna sit on the toilet, do the poo because it's a husky game where you get
extra points. Remember, remember the the first streaming videos on what was the platform? Solana.
In all seriousness, it seems like it's a the initial playable version is like a a platformer akin
to Minecraft, where you're shooting arrows and interacting with zombies
and you know things of that nature. And in game worlds, and this was just my understanding. I mean,
this isn't confirmed. It's very brief on the website, but you know the game world
is going to be actively influenced by live information. About the first thing I'm doing
is trying to break the game. I'm going to break the game as soon as I can.
It's a lot more ambitious than I expected. Honestly, I thought Quantum Hasky was going to
maybe be like an arcade style. I don't know. I knew it would be interesting and stuff.
I'm not saying I didn't have high expectations, but it's very ambitious, man.
It seems like a very ambitious game development. I'm gonna brainwash. I'm gonna brainwash
all the neurons and take over the game. I'm gonna hack the game by brainwashing the dish brains.
Can Hasky buy papiya? I'm gonna wash the dishes and stuff like that. Is you say papiya? Yeah,
that that was news about Puffy as well, right? Ipa, you got that? Yeah,
they were absorbed by some other organization. I I didn't see all the details,
but looked like they were bought out. I refuse to give them. I'm not giving them any sort
of attention. What if they acquired them? What if Husky acquired them? I'm gonna use it with
Quantum Husky. Then I would tamp it. Yeah, I'm like, should I be sweeping the floor right now? Like,
what should I be doing? Genius! What a genius project that was. I remember those days. Yeah,
remember the tweet asking it with with the with the sponges. Yeah, that's classic. That's classic.
I was dad dad laughing. Bro, you guys are just jealous. You know they're coming back,
and he didn't buy the plots. And now I'm gonna be by the beach, and you guys hanging out
in the plot. Man, because he's British, get the fuck out of here! Come on, I'm by the beach. Hey,
Xavier, came back, or you waiting for the apes to come back next? They're all on base.
They're all on base. Well, and you know, let's just recognize why recognize why it was interesting
in the first place. Is like there is so much potential for these land plot NFT concepts
for game worlds and for all kinds of different use cases. It's just there was a mania, definitely.
Pavia had what like a hundred thousand NFT. I mean, it makes my stomach hurt just to think about.
How their feet were up in the air, they were just smoking cigars and just giggling.
You know when you're dating a girl, the ape society is like when you're dating a girl
and she's like, oh, you know, it's not you, it's me, and there's nobody else,
and she's actually telling the truth, but then she's not because there actually is somebody else.
But then Pavia is like, you know, there isn't somebody else, but they still don't even fuck with
you, and then they come back after like three years and they're like, I missed you so much,
and it's like, nah, do I really believe you? Can we can we talk about the can we talk about
the communication you know like the marketing right that what what sets the narrative
like this organic marketing thing that made us believe that narrative can we reflect on
that a little bit with a little bit of hindsight twenty twenty no no let's
just no it was embarrassing the first time we did it like Ethereum Ethereum it was Ethereum
what was it called again Ethereum the plots the other side. No, the other one, no. Mana, no,
the big, the Central Land, no, the biggest one either. Where everybody bought a plot,
and Snoop bought an entire mansion, sandbox exactly. Everybody thought it was the sandbox
on Cardano, and I ain't gonna care. And it all start. It even it didn't start with Pavia.
It started with the other one. What was it on on Bonded Earth? Well, there was one thing,
and not all those. Yeah. You know, like they have a lot of projects. I think are building on
these land plot ideas. It's just. Uh huh. I'll tell you this: it might not,
it might not have been sandbox, but if you sell all of your Pavia plots that you have left,
you can buy a cardboard box and live on a street. Exactly, but but also bossland. You got bossland.
We're sorry, we're not laughing at you. We're just the whole situation is coming. We are, we are,
we are. Maybe I'm an old man, but does anybody else remember Active Worlds? Like
when the internet first came out, like there was this thing called Active Worlds.
Do y'all remember that? Yeah, never heard of it. Never. That game's still going,
but it's like community servers now. I haven't. It's still going. Yeah, if you you can find it,
it'll be like pretty much fucking nobody in the servers. But it's like community run. Yeah, yeah,
there was never anybody in the servers, but yeah, you could build shit on your own fucking
like square of land, you know, and then people could go there and enjoy it. Yeah,
you probably got hacked by these hackers. That shit came out in like nineteen ninety something.
Okay. I wouldn't install that shit because I bet you there, Sheridan. Hey, it was crazy.
You got Buzzland, and then speaking of degeneracy, guys, did you see that the project
Danzo has formally announced that we can expect a. Mid August Plinko game
with partnered Cardano native tokens. I don't know if we have any Danzo either.
You got to do something, bro. Like I'm waiting for like fucking midnight and all this crazy shit.
And like you got to do something a bit more to make me jump out of my seat right now. Well, look,
I mean, Plinko is. Where did where does Danzo get their randomness from? Like,
how do they get randomness for their game? From the random number generator. It's a good question,
but you know Plinko is known for being super addictive. I mean, it's like it's like gambling crack
basically, and we're gonna have it here on Cardano. So buckle your seatbelts.
I like the chicken one. Let's go with the chicken one. The little chicken run. That's pretty good.
It's just fun to gamble, and it's fun to think. You know what? Against all odds, I think I'm right.
I think I'm gonna win, and then it happens. That feeling of fulfilled, you know, projection.
And then you lose everything. Exactly. Then you think you're the the the best player in the game,
and then you're gonna lose. When you lose everything, everything though,
it gives you an opportunity to start again, and that's so fun. Oh man! Wait, wait, wait!
Did you did you say plate? Did you say plinko or pachinko? No, plinko. Which which one are you?
Plinko from like from the Price Is Right, where the balls bounce around on the little pyramid
and ding ding ding ding. Where's it gonna go? Where's the ball? I think it's gonna go here.
Oh my god, I was right! Yeah. Oh my god, it feels so good. I was right. P O V. P O V. White man.
Well, that's called pingo at casino. Sorry, sorry. Yeah, why'd you have to get racial, bro?
You know where you are. I'm bronze, is what I'm. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So thank you very much. Hey,
we're talking all things Cardano, guys. The epoch is right about to end. This is 573.
We've had so much action in the last five days. We haven't been able to cover it all,
but we've talked about a lot today. And we're a few minutes away from the actual end of the epoch.
And we have some some more time in the space. If anybody wants to join us as a speaker,
just tell us what's on your mind from the last five days. And if we've said anything that
you agreed with or disagreed with, you could you could educate us if you'd like.
The biggest story of Rare Evo, right? Everybody's getting ready for Rare Evo, and I'm sick
and tired of all this stuff. Yeah, have fun. So Rare Evo is like the sun that we're all
we're all orbiting around right now. Pretty much, yeah. Rare Evo is the start of the bull run.
Back in back in the days, we had the biggest. See what he's doing right now? What Damian is doing?
He's making a prediction, and if he he's proven right, it's gonna satisfy him on a deep, deep,
almost primal level, right? It's gonna feel so good, and if if his prediction is wrong.
He's gonna archive it in a dusty library that'll never be referenced. We won't remember that anyway.
I'm just gonna go to work and I'd like nothing happens. Well, let's let's go to the hand here.
We have Lord. You have your hand up, sir. Please go ahead. Yeah, yeah.
So I haven't been keeping up with all the summit announcements this year.
Were they gonna hold a summit this year? Did they decide not to because they couldn't get funding
from the treasury? The summit is in Germany, right? Yes, in Germany. I'm going. It's the Berlin.
What is it? The fourteen. Of November or the I'm looking it up. I bookmarked it already
in my calendar. Is the oh I'm going from the 12th until the 16th of November. So I guess it's 14,
15, and 16 November. I wonder if there will be an Epoch's end in that time.
Maybe you could join us live and give your perspectives from the belly of the beast.
Definitely will do. You're you're in Norway or the Netherlands? The Netherlands, the Netherlands.
The Netherlands. You with B? I'm with no B is in Norway. Oh okay, okay. Bees in Norway.
They're a Norwegian crew. That's some strong representation from Norway. Yeah, definitely.
A lot of people in Norway, but also from the Netherlands, developers and stuff. Coming Monday,
I'm gonna work in a working space with a couple of Cardano guys. So, a little meetup,
do some drinks afterward. So, work hard, play hard, huh? You guys do it in the Netherlands. Yeah,
that's how we do it. I just have to work, but I'm gonna work over there and gonna have some fun.
The Netherlands. If there's a good, if the weather is good, we're gonna throw on the barbecue
because there's a little barbecue at the working place. Cardano Q. Yeah,
we could call it a Cardano Q. Definitely. I'll make some pictures. I don't know if you guys noticed,
but we we have Maureen who joined us as a speaker here. I think everyone can agree
that we all want to wish Maureen. Oh shit! I got distracted. I'm Miranda. What's up, Miranda?
Let's observe this this this beautiful moment as the Cardano blockchain begins anew.
New opportunities. New potentialities, new challenges. Is that a word? It's what makes card.
Is that a word? Potentialities. Let's just do it.
Let's just do a brief moment of silence as we enter Epoch Five Seventy Four.
Incredible. Thank you, guys. Just take a. Do you hear that? That was me taking a deep breath
of this delicious fresh can of five seventy four oxygen. Giving you more and more
and more five seventy four, giving you more and more and more. No, but I'm pretty sure that's not
a word. No, I think I think you're right. And you invented the language I'm speaking,
so I'll defer to you. I'll let you have it, though. We can, I mean, add it to the fucking list,
if you ask me. Well, we still have time, people, and we still have news events from
the last five days. We're trying to cram it all into these these powerful conversations here
at Epoch's end. And thank you for joining us on this this Saturday in early August of the year 2025.
But we all know months and years don't matter. All that matters is epochs. It's the problem.
Everybody asks me, "L, where are you?" They never ask me, "L, when are you?" Hey, before we move on,
because I've never had an opportunity to say it, and I would like to say it now. Congratulations,
Maureen, on your PFP. And and the stake pool and and she's a D rep as well, right, Maureen? Yeah,
I am. Wonder here in Cardano. Thanks, Lord. Your voice—I've never had it said to me in that voice
before, so thank you. Ain't there some ain't there some conflict of interest, Maureen, as an SPO
and a D rep? Shut up, Kevin. Guys, I came off because I saw Epoch. Sorry, Alonso,
and I came to ask him about his hand, but he's gone now. So. What I'm gonna do is hand.
That's the thing. You don't take. You don't take note. People get hurt,
and you know their hand hurts. Shit like that. You know. Maureen cursed. There you are.
Maureen cursed Alonso, and then he cut his hand somehow. And she's a voodoo queen, baby.
That's what's up. Juju. That's exciting. Yo, don't say that again. I came up here.
I came up here to back up Epoch. So potentiality is a real word. And it means the latent qualities
or abilities that may be developed and that lead to future success or usefulness.
How is potentiality a word? If not, thank you for. It's American English. It's American English.
He's a Welshman, so he's not really. No, honestly, I'm happy to be proven wrong. Like I just,
I was asking if it was a word, and I don't sound happy. I give it to him, but I'm.
My question now is, what is the different root between potential and potentiality?
That's that's potential is if you could. Are we getting into etymology here? Are we?
You could do something, and potentiality is that you might. Do do something. One has more syllables.
Would that not still be the same potential? Makes you makes you feel smarter to say it
because it has more syllables, but they mean yeah. So like overall potential is expressed in
individual potentialities. It's like a body of potentialities forming overall future potential.
But now explain it with example. Well, you know what, guys, I can't stand a bunch of white people.
I'm black. Talking about Indians. I'm black. I'm also I'm also black. Kevin, you don't count.
I'm black. You're the only white person speaking right now. I'm black. Nowadays,
whatever your PFP is, I assume you're. Uvu wewe. Let's let's get serious though, guys. Maureen, in
the last five days on Cardano, what has been, what what has really stood out to you
as an interesting story or an interesting conversation? No pressure, too.
But I'm just curious what what you thought was like the most interesting things happening on Cardano
in the last five days. There you have your answer. Nothing. All right, because of your actions,
Maureen, you are now permanently banned from Epochs Go. I think she runs.
I've just gone on Maureen's Twitter. I'm like, okay, what's Maureen talking about?
She's not talking about fuck all, so she might be onto something, to be honest. So it's been a busy
Epoch for Maureen. There's nothing wrong with that. That's okay, and and no pressure
to share anything more or less than we feel comfortable sharing. We we do also have
Meta Sailor here with us as a speaker. Thank you for joining us, and happy Epochs end or beginning.
Glad you made it. We do have a little more time, people. If you want to hop in and request to speak,
a lot of potentialities for this conversation. Are you guys tired of winning?
This is the epoch when my son went to a real party in a big city. So if I end up in jail,
you guys already know I'll come. So I ain't going to sleep. What do you think is the?
What do you think is the potentiality of that? All right, zero because all future potentialities
that include people in a cheeky way. Deploying that word in the conversation. I've had enough.
Somebody needs to come with an example where you're gonna use potentiality. I want to know.
I'm Dutch. My brain is already scrambled. That's what I just. That's what we were.
We're establishing now. We don't want to hear you use that word anymore. It's played out.
But are you taking off, Damien? Are you calling it a night here? Nah, nah, nah.
I ain't going to sleep. It's the first time my son is. I'm staying awake.
Park was hinting at something. He's going to Rotterdam, not Amsterdam. I'm happy with that.
But Rotterdam, my son. That means that he's actually going to Amsterdam, and he just lied to you.
Nah, nah, nah, nah. If you want to go to Amsterdam, we can go. He's 18 now, so. Yeah,
but he doesn't want to see his dad opposite him in the red light district. Nah, I ain't doing that.
Jeez, hell no. All right, all right, guys. Let's reel it in here. We have Maureen rejoining us.
Maureen, you are technically banned because you didn't respond to a question that I had asked you,
but I think we all can agree that you should have an opportunity to redeem yourself now. Oh my God,
what was the question? I got kicked out by X and his moscatier, but I'm back. X is moscatier.
The question. The question was, what was the what was a big story that stood out to you from
the last five days on Cardano? If you know, if there was like something at the front of mind
for you. Oh, I can't think of anything. Oh, wait, wait, wait, wait! I think a bunch of projects.
Sorry, no wrong answers. Midgard, Midgard just passed the threshold for approval, so that's great.
Feel is happy. Everyone is happy. I'm not happy because Kevin is here, but you know.
Can you give us a little more context about that, Maureen? Why that's a important milestone
for Cardano? In your opinion, I think yeah, I think Midgard is a very ambitious project,
and it might uh take us to the next level. Might um, you know, we never know tomorrow, but uh,
the potentiality of it's one. It's also one of it's also one of the first projects to get approved,
and it's by a community member, not like one of the tiny entities like IOG.
So I think it's it's just nice, honestly. And and we're specifically talking about one
of the 39 legendary treasury withdrawal governance actions. We're living in this era of the 39,
and so they are the first ones to check all the boxes per se on the governance mechanisms.
Which is yeah, I mean it it is I guess a demonstration of how thorough the project is overall
and how thorough their governance actions and you know everything is that it was
able to be the first ever I guess on mainnet right or no. Wait, wait, wait!
Is this the first mainnet since we've had the official? Yeah, it is. Everything else has been.
I thought Amaru. I thought Amaru was the first one to get approved. Or no? Am I wrong? Oh,
you might. It wasn't. It wasn't submitted. Right, it's Amaru. You know, Amaru's the first one. Yeah,
but it's so it came first, right? So. Okay, that's true. Do credit, you know. Amaru. Well,
look who it is, guys! Someone who I think we all rejoice in connecting with
and having conversations with—the one and only Bickram. Welcome, sir. Happy Epochs end. Yeah. Hey,
Evil. Long time no see. Yeah. Absolutely fine. My portfolio is down. Yeah. From the hell. Sorry,
I'm not laughing. I'm laughing with you. Not at you. It's it's the week of the excuses, Big Rum.
Do you have your excuses ready? What excuse? Don't use the word week in this in this chat, please.
We talk in Epochs here. Yeah. No, not not excuse. Yeah, you have to go to Phil.
You have to go to to the to the big guy. Kiss his pinky ring. I say I'm sorry. Can we get
more context here? I don't know what you're talking about, Damon. What what is happening?
Vikram knows what knows what I'm talking about because this week the the document is coming out.
The document is coming out, right? The audit. The audit is coming out. Oh, the fake.
What were you saying about that, Bickram? Were you, were you instigated? Yeah, it's an art.
It's an arted. Yeah, it's a big deal, right? I mean, it could dispel. It's gonna be on chain,
and and I'm gonna mint definitely two of them. So, I I don't understand, bro.
You know why you guys are so you know making this a big deal? Hey, hey, Bickram, what about this,
buddy? Quantum Hosky. What do you think of that? Are you excited? No, it's a scam.
Why do you say that? You're not excited to play the game? No, it's a meme, you know. It's not a,
it's nothing. Well, they're partnering with PUBG, so it's they're actually developing a real game.
It's not just a a meme. Yeah, maybe White Three game. Yeah. And the game token will be Hosky tokens.
Yeah, quantum Hosky tokens. So maybe it's a meme. I don't want some Hosky tokens.
Just the the traditional Hosky tokens will be the game currency. Oh, so you get airdrop
of Hawski token? That means it's it's not a scam. Tell me what. Bikram,
what do you think about Midgard coming to Canada? Yeah, I mean, why you think it's a deal?
Technology like crazy. Yeah. Well, we're gonna get to play the game soon. Yeah,
we'll get to judge it then, right? Yeah, only Trump supporter will believe the quantum Hawski is
a real thing. That's funny. I can always count on you, Bikram, for wild. To me, from my perspective,
incongruent. And just strange takes on things because I think the Hosky Quantum Hosky thing is
very interesting and exciting. I'd be very excited if I was a large Hosky holder, which I'm not.
Excited? What? Dump your fucking bag! Fuck! I don't know. I don't know how to answer you, from.
I mean, you're too much. Van, I just want you to know that you cannot say me personally.
It's wrong English. Can you explain, Maureen? Oh, no, I can't. That's not then you're wrong.
If you can't, you're wrong. Okay, he he said uh myself personally, or was it me personally? Sorry,
myself personally. Yeah, you cannot say that. Cannot say that. You're putting words in my mouth,
and I will not. Oh, Damien, Kevin had it. No, Kevin had it. Kevin had it. Damien did it.
So people can go back, and if somebody wants to create a a compendium of all my grammatical errors
with timestamps throughout the space, I will pay you an ADA for this document. Yeah, how much?
Five ADA. At Grok, get on it. That's five million love laces, people. Come on, Van,
you can do better than that. All right, well, we have the Gold Rush with his hand up.
Thank you for your politeness, Gold Rush. Please go ahead, sir. How's it going, y'all?
Happy Epochs in, or Epochs beginning? Sorry, Epochs beginning. Epochs beginning. So I have an idea.
All right. So like radio free, so like radio free Nashville, radio free whatever.
You could just pick up time slots there and broadcast fucking media. Now they're
low power radio stations. But that would be a very easy way. So, like maybe after rare,
once this once this content is all, you know, we could turn them into like little TED Talk segments
where they're kind of perfectly edited to be perfect for radio, and then fucking do some like,
like like you know what I mean. And then advertise a my way of thinking
of funding it was like advertise a stake pool, right? So now you're getting
the the average radio listener, and I realized that radio is available as a stake pool.
Probably not after this space, but. So like you could literally go to you could you know franchise
your your media across all these radio stations in different markets like like you know think of
like the way Pacifica Radio kind of just like you know the the media
just just gets distributed through all the stations that need to fill airtime right
and then you could do Cardano marketing on those on those stations you know now some
of them charge money but some of them don't some of them you just need to choose an airtime
and you need to have good good stuff to fill their airtime right so. I'm just putting that
out there. Like we get, we need to get the norm. There's a lot of rules about advertising too. Like
if it's just informal and educational, but once you start doing plugs and ads, well,
but these these stations literally do like fundraising drives. You know what I mean?
They they do fundraising, so it would not be weird to do delegated stake. Like if you hold ADA,
please delegate it to our radio stake pool, right? And then that'll fund more crypto,
more crypto knowledge to your community-driven station, right? Which is the the ideals
are congruent. The way I see it. And so whether whether I do a catalyst proposal
to like get a little you know get enough juice into the stake pool to make it worthwhile,
this is just an idea that I'm throwing around. Just an idea. That's cool. No,
it's a cool leveraging the technology of radio, which is very. I guess you could say mainstream.
I mean, it's like old school. Old school, very accessible though, on a very to a lot of different.
I think proof of to old people proof of stake, right? Yeah, proof of stake
as a fundraising mechanism for public radio, where then they can then disseminate or you know,
it's very interesting. You know, you would who did the cutlass proposal?
Who did the cutlass proposal? Proposal? See if it's gonna hit. It's an interesting idea
because you could always just cease and desist if somebody's like, hey,
that violates this radio rule. You just go, okay, we'll take it off the. Well, since Devrin is here,
like, are there any? What's the copyright law on the on the on the content that you guys
are are um producing? Like, could could I go to my my like Radio Free Nashville
and like re broadcast some of your YouTube stuff? You know, and like in a TED Talk fashion,
would you allow that or? Um, I mean, yeah, I mean, as long as you're giving us credit for it,
for it, not a. Saying that it's your own, I mean people. Yeah, yeah. It would be like
rare rare talk. We call it a rare talk. The IOG video, the IOG homepage for Christ's sake,
they clips some of our stuff from rare for their their promotional. So I'm fine with it as long
as you're giving us credit. I mean, it just gets it stuff more reach in the end, right?
So that's why we invite everyone out to film with their phones or their cameras or whatnot,
and you know, as long as you're giving us credit. Devrin, you have a big couple epochs coming up
here. We are kind of, with with as we all orbit around the glowing, warmth,
nourishment providing sun that is Rare Evo. There's so much happening, every day here on Cardano.
I'm just curious, what are the kind of top things from Cardano in the last five days
that have stuck out to you as important or consequential? I know that's kind of putting you
on the spot, but no, I mean, I mean, Strike maybe reaching like fifty.
Plus percent of all volume on chain was that was that was this was yeah this was within this epoch
I think right that is wild yeah um the sovereign wealth fund workshop
being being finally announced at the Dev Gov Days and we've got like Charles is going to be on it
we've secured Sam Cosman the founder of Frax Finance to talk about. Stablecoins in an ecosystem
and the importance of them. We've got the people from Moneta. We've got Jack Briggs, I believe,
is going to be on this panel workshop, and it's all sort of Q and A discussion format
for a couple hours, so we can really dig deep into this and make it work.
Sheldon on like diversifying into Bitcoin, all sorts of other stuff. Incredible. What else?
L announcing that he's actually going to Vegas. That was the epoch. That was a memorable moment.
Yeah, don't forget the the stable coin coin on midnight. They also announced that, right? Well,
there's so many announcements coming that I'm sure you can't address specifically.
But it seems like from the last five days, it really struck home with me.
Governance is happening in IRL. Governance is going to be happening. Yes.
Instead of talking at each other, we're going to be talking with each other,
and I can't wait for it. That's going to be happening simultaneously or soon. You know, I mean,
at the same event, we're also going to be seeing. New projects launching. Obviously,
can't predict exactly how that's all going to play out, but I've definitely seen hints
that people are going to make huge announcements and even launch new things during the event.
Anvil came out with their API that's going to go live. Like, yeah, I I know that C Swap is showing
the details of their sort of. I think it's two point five launch. If I'm wrong, correct me.
But a big big deal with C Swap. Sunday Strategies is is releasing it rare. What else? You got
Quantum Husky. You were talking about that earlier. We're finally going to get to know what the heck
it is. Bookio has a decent sized announcement, which I'll leave to speculation.
Midnight has a decent announcement, and I'll I'll let you leave the speculation on what
that announcement is. Man, it's me a lot of stuff. Probably some stuff on Bitcoin DeFi. Um, say
that one more time. We we've some stuff on Bitcoin DeFi. I think will be announced,
or I know will be announced. Rare itself has a big announcement, which you all find out about soon.
Uh, a lot of a lot of stuff, really. My nipples are tearing through the fabric of my my button up
shirt that I'm wearing right now because of just pure excitement. I got duct tape on my nipples,
and my nipples just tore the fucking duct tape off. Oh, Sun Sundial has a huge,
huge announcement too, but you're gonna have to wait for that one as well.
Sundial is Sheldon's sort of Bitcoin OS, Bitcoin D5, layer two-ish sort of thing. I guess.
Let's be real. We have all the most beautiful influencers, male and female. For example, L,
who's here with us now, they're gonna be there, mixing it up, having fun,
engaging with the community, playing games and demos, sharing laughter,
and it's a chance for all of us to get to recognize. The shared humanity behind the PFPS
and behind these little opinion boxes that we call our consciousness—we just get to brush up
against each other, and it's a very humanizing thing because we are all drawn to this network
for a variety of different reasons that are unique to us, and yet it is something that unites us.
And it's awesome to just get to put faces to names and to kind of share those simple things,
you know, that we miss on social media. I could not agree more. I mean,
as much as I'm excited for everyone to see where. All the work we put in this year,
we're honored to be able to host this Dev and Gov Day thing. It's the first event funded by, well,
hopefully funded by the Cardano Treasury, and it's like it's the important stuff.
Like not only are we honoring the the guys and gals like building the shit that we all use every day
and what they got rolling out. Governance is a huge topic. There's a lot of things that are great
about it, and a lot of things that We need to work the kinks out about it,
and getting all these people in the same room, engaging like proper discourse. Like I said,
I always say like talking with instead of at. It's going to be a huge, huge day,
and it's going to be loads of fun. You can sit top golf, you can drink some beer, eat some,
eat some tacos, swim in the pool, swing, swing the clubs, and nerd out all at the same time.
And you're in Las Vegas, which we actually discussed this earlier. I mean,
it's a it's a city designed for fun. I mean, the whole the origin of it the The manifestation of it,
everything about it is designed to be a place where people go to have fun. Yeah. And you know,
you got to be careful with fun and anything like that. You know, of course.
But assuming you go responsibly with a nice tight budget for your stay, and you know, I mean,
it's a blast, man. I I'm sorry I won't be able to make it, but I want everyone who knows that,
I want you to know. If you're going to Rare Evo, you're better than me.
You're a better person than me in every way. You are my superior. I'm inferior to you.
I'm gonna be sleeping in my rental car, so I'm not better than you, bro. No, you are,
infinitely like a zero to one leap of superiority that you possess because you will be in attendance
at this event, and I will not. It's regrettable, and I only hope to. I'm going to fly
Spirit Airlines and sleep in my rental car. You're one of the luckiest
and most important human beings to have ever lived on this planet, sir.
And you don't even realize it. I imagine there's going to be a lot of hard work
and a lot of hard play going on in Vegas that week, for sure. And to be to be fair,
I'm actually sending a kung fu master in disguise as me. Like, so there's going to be somebody
representing as me. So just in case somebody tries to kick my ass, the kung fu master is going to
like break their bones and shit. No one's going to kick your ass. I go to a lot of events, man.
It's all hugs and rainbows. As people talk online, it does not translate to live events. Trust me.
Well, he's good at hugging too, so that's cool too. And he's also the guy that turned me on
to fucking crypto. So, like, I I prefer that he go. You know what I mean? Let's put it this way:
if you go to a Cardano event like this and get into a fight. You're blacklisted, in my opinion.
There's just no excuse for it, unless you got you got jumped by an assassin who was paid.
Literally blacklisted. If Charles's security takes me outside and roughs me up,
like that's not that's not because I was a bad person. You are blacklisted. I'm sorry. You would be.
That would be just unacceptable. You would be blacklisted. Literally, your name would go to
Caesar's Palace, and you would not be allowed on property. And I've seen those guys in person.
I mean, I haven't like shook their hands or anything, but they seem like classy dudes.
They weren't like cracking skulls. They're just like, hey, respect some basic personal boundaries.
Because Charles is shaking people, shaking hands. They're like, just don't sneak up behind
and grab skulls or anything. Yeah, no, they've. I've, I've interacted with Charles's security crew
a number of times, and there's only ever been one incident where anyone was roughed up.
And to be quite fair, they kind of had it coming. They kind of had it coming. Well, do I hear him?
Do I hear him in the room right now? Is the man here right now? Nah, nah. Oh no, no, no!
That that chuckle sounded exactly like the guy. Charles just points at someone out of boredom,
and Charles just goes, "Give that man a titty twister." And his security team goes over
and just starts beating the shit out of some guy. This security team is jealous. Charles is, yes,
yes, yeah. Charles is training with them. Yeah, it was a situation that escalated up to that point.
I will just leave that there. Exactly, and they're just home to training the child. I'm sorry,
that's like, I mean, just just be just you know, let's treasure this future
that we all share together. I don't mean to get sappy, but you know, there's
certain things that you know, it's like let's not burn bridges, and fighting is one of the top ways
to burn a bridge. Obviously, you know, it's like let's let's build bridges at these events. Not,
I I feel like my main problem with rare with rare is is that like I don't I can't write it off
as a business expense because I don't have any kind of web three business. You know,
I'm just fucking. You're not IT. If you're IT, you can write it off. I'm just saying, man.
I'm I'm I'm just a plebe out here, like just trying to hold on to fucking. There,
why is to write off anything? You can write off filling your gas, your car gas. Yes, I mean,
what's your line of work? You can be as generic as you want. I work in fulfillment, actually. So,
and and fulfillment—that's easy. You're going to blockchain events. That's easy. Fulfillment.
I do OnlyFans. You're fulfilling Uber Eats. Yeah, you want decentralized? I'm fulfilling lives,
actually. And you want to use the blockchain for fulfillment? You can write it off easily, man.
But we actually we have eight divisions, and I'm just in the fulfillment division.
But we actually do swag. Yeah, we do swag. So like, I'm I'm trying to figure out
how to get our company to put like Bitcoin on their, you know, balance sheet.
You're going for you're going out for R and D. Write it off. Yeah. There you go. Yeah. Yeah. Man,
I really want to. I'm trying to figure out because my mother just retired,
and she's like in corporate training, and she could contribute to the ecosystem and shit.
And I'm trying to figure out how to like tie my local community into this thing,
but I don't think I can pull it off this year. You know what I mean? Okay, you can pull it off.
Okay. So we we had huge news these last five days, people, and it's getting more
and more challenging to keep track of everything that's going on in this global community.
And I think that is really bullish, regardless of price movement. I know it's a reality
we all have to deal with, but it's almost becomes an afterthought. Well, I shouldn't say that,
but it's just not. It's not as consequential, I think, to what a blockchain
actually needs to be successful. You need commitment. You need forward-looking development
and enterprise of people coming together in a common ethos to with a shared vision.
And that is also known as making the sausage, which is what we're doing right now.
And it takes each of us helping out, and it's going to get messy, and it's probably going to make
us want to never eat a sausage again. But what's important is we're here at these formative,
impactful moments. And no more glazing of Rare Evo. But thank you to the Rare Evo team
for demonstrating. Over time, through consecutive, you know, events that they've held,
just kind of reacting to community response, reacting to, you know, seeing what's works, what is,
you know what I mean? Just having this adaptive, iterative approach, and it feels like this year
is the first of. I mean, each one feels like a kind of a new event that has the best parts
of the the previous event, which I am not going to be able to attend. But it's not about me,
and just yeah, shout out to to the whole team for making it. I know it's a a shit ton of on the
on the ground work to to bring these things together. So. Just think, when you go
and giving that narrative, when you go in 2026, it'll be like quadrupled as good
because you skip the year, so you're going from like 24 to 26, so it'd just be that much more amazed
at everything. Yeah, well said. It's like when you skip a year of the the Madden NFL games,
you're like, "Holy shit, this is incredible!" But if you get it every year,
it's a little less exciting. Andrew, the wonderful, wonderful Gold Rush himself, has his hand up.
Please go ahead, sir. Yeah, I want to say, Devin. I'm a little bit let down, you know,
because because I studied sound engineering when I was in high school.
That like your stage crew that was in Nashville did not fucking invite me to like the
to the the mock up. You know, I'm really a little bit pissed off. Chattanooga, it was Chattanooga,
but yeah. Oh, okay, okay, okay. It was Chattanooga. If you've got experience,
reach out because we we hired some local people. We've hired people who worked for us before,
and everyone's going out to Vegas. Everybody but you, Andrew. And you. And me. Damn you.
We talked about a lot today, people. We we we talked about midnight. We talked about
the new MinSwap Dex aggregator, how they're working in collaboration or integration with
Strike Finance to lead to some record-breaking rises and traction here on Cardano.
We had the unfortunately and untimely passing of the Macasi Kitty Cat,
as opposed to the really the the strengthening and the growth of the the MinSwap Kitty Cat.
But this is the way of the world, you know. It's all about balance. And anyways.
We we already mentioned rare evo is the sun that we all seem to be orbiting right now,
for good reason. We I don't know if you guys saw this, but some some clarity on the Cardano kit by
Tokyo Wallet, which was very informative for me because it had been in the news a lot
in the last few epochs about Ada Pay and all these things. So they provided some great clarity.
If I was smart, I would be linking these tweets. But and so that's the the i that that that's
the iPhone thing, right? So you can put you can put DAP DApps into the App Store on Apple, on app.
I almost said Apple Play, but the Apple Store, right? Because I'm a Google guy. Sorry,
but this is fucking huge, right? It is, and it has other kind of iterations that
already you know Coinbase. There's some type of connection like this,
which I believe was also done by Tokyo, and there are other things. But I think the Cardano Kit
is meant to be like a very developer friendly toolkit for this. And it's in like a plug almost,
like a plugin, like you would for your, you know, WordPress website or something like that. Similar,
I think. No, I think I think this is no, I think this is for building apps in the App Store.
This is for building like actual Apple apps, like for your iPhone, right? Yeah, yeah. Well, I mean,
I think we agree. It's like App Store integration. So anything you can use the Apple App Store
on any of their devices, except computers, I think. And like you can't use it on a Mac,
I don't think. But like Apple TV, Apple phones, maybe iPads. I'm not sure. Yeah, iPads. I mean,
anywhere you can use Apple Pay, you can. The the operating system integrated though.
It's not going to be. Yeah, the operating system between like TV, like it's the same for TV, phones,
tablets, but different for PCs, I believe. So I can see that. That's why that would work.
I think I'm rugged. I'm going to drop down. Hey, is anybody talking? Sorry, I was muted, guys. Oh,
I see. Okay, okay. Wow, wow. I'm a jerk. I'm sorry. I was getting ready to just leave and come back.
I was like, man, why is he's little thing moving? But I'm not hearing anything. So, so okay.
How about this, guys? Danzo's new plinko game. We got a Danzo's plinko game coming to Cardano.
If you are a recovering gambling addict, just be aware. Maybe start to fortify yourself
that there will be a new Cardano degeneracy option for you. So protect yourselves from that.
I'm just kidding. Have fun with it, but it's just something to be aware of.
Have you guys heard about Ob Mare? I believe it's pronounced. They are another DeFi.
It's Ob Obimare. Obimare. Okay. And I know nothing about it other than it's like a stable coin
built out of other stable coins or something like that. We need more info,
but they launched on testnet and they've already started implementing input from testnet users.
So I saw that post I think yesterday, but I'm an idiot. I know nothing. I mean,
I know just maybe it's just a hair more than. The average person in this space,
but that's what makes this so beautiful. We're all processing these things together.
I know CK Cardano down there, who's on the stage currently, knows something about Obamari,
or whatever the circle or the the bromance. What do we call this? His speaking ability. What's up,
bro? Um, I don't know, man. Obamari is the shit. Um, I was actually looking for some stuff. Um,
so basically, I think the way that Obamari is going to work out for one is it's going to
really put a um. It's going to make all of the stables more honest with with respect to like
the like fees and whatnot because it's going to be an open source. Basically,
way I think it's going to work, we're going to have freedom stable coins.
I was in a space with a Bitcoin maximalist right the other day, and he was saying, "Man,
fuck these fiat backed stables and fuck like trying to get regulated. Give me a place
where I can like hold my money and we're good." And I was like, "Bro, what's cool is
there's something like OBMARE and it it has a really really smart model
and they're they're approaching it like in and out. They're like, bro, we do burgers, we do fries,
we do shakes, and we do not fuck it up. You know, over collateralized ADA backed stablecoin, right?
" Precisely, but far more efficient capital, like capitally efficient than Shen.
Shen has a four to one sort of over collateralization, which is really robust, which is why it more
or less maintains its peg well. But that is not very capitally efficient.
Whereas with fiat-backed currencies, right, you get one you one unit out for one unit in.
With Obemare, they split the difference with a one point three, so it's like a dollar
a one point three eight or one point three dollars. The value. I forget which way they're going with
that, but anyway, so there's like it allows it to over overpeg to a certain extent.
Then everyone is incentivized to mint and then immediately reclaim for the surplus. If it
if it goes below, obviously you're incentivized to mint and then get the surplus when it repegs in
the future. And then when you look at all the lending and borrowing and kind of passive income parts
of it, it becomes very. And I think what the future is. Imagine. So I'm looking at
like the Maya protocols, the Leodexes, the Thor chains, and the Thor swaps,
which are essentially the Binance's and the Coinbase, but the decentralized version.
So now we're able to go from Ethereum and Solana to Cardano to Midnight to Bitcoin. All this.
Similarly, we are going to have pools of liquidity coins like Obemare that. Have
robust pairings with USDM and Anzins, you know what I mean? So I think we're gonna have folks
that have their wallets where they're running the DeFi, doing the Obimare, da da da da da,
and then we've got other wallets where we're paying our rent and our groceries where USDM
and Anzins makes more sense, you know? So I'm just bullish on these freedom technologies.
And like you were just saying, bro, I actually am kind of reeling a bit because I. Wrote.
I actually sat down and wrote a formal document by request, with like more like gravity than I have
in a while, and it was actually like super satisfying to stick the landing on that.
Someone that's in administrations and whatnot and has is having conversations was in a space,
and I was discussing some of the reasons why I objectively think certain technologies are gonna are.
Going to have an advantage over other ones, and yeah, was was asked to do a pitch, and truly,
just for for my organic, here's my here's my take, and and that's apparently working its way up
uh up some some some some totems, but here's here's a little excerpt
because basically they were asking me about an allocation, and I'm gonna gonna go into
the specifics, but one of the allocations right. So without delving into
more active management strategies and upcoming macro catalysts, I'd say that the following portfolio
weighs a balance of capital preservation, growth, risk, and technical maturation
and capability of related technologies over time. So then I have Bitcoin, Litecoin.
You already knew it. Cardano, XRP. I surprised myself, but I truly just let my brain be free,
and that's what came out of my brain. Guess what the last one was? Midnight, bro.
So the next is we could extend this conversation in all kinds of alternative options, Reaetherium
and Solana, etc. But as I've mentioned, these have unlimited supplies and the limits of the EVM,
SVM, and accounts model. I believe the release of Midnight Network, which is the First partner chain
of Cardano, coupled with the Cardano is Bitcoin's DeFi layer narratives, will be very strong
and the technology undeniable. I think we begin to see substantial capital migration from
Ethereum to Cardano and UTXO-based chains, summer fall 2026. So guys, folks are being asked
and tapped to levy documents on behalf of the people is where I'm going to put that.
And and we've invited some of our friends, you know, that we know in the space,
maybe that have security teams. That I mean, they they haven't been looped in on this conversation
yet. But I think I did mention that should this documentation be forwarded,
and they be interested in hearing more voices. Obviously, we have friends in this community
on Cardano that are that have these conversations. Right, we're we're right here
having conversations with everyone. Charles himself could roll through. Right,
we got Devon here of Rare Evo, right, and and we know where this this industry is headed. And so,
when we have the the privilege to share these spaces with the Lucases and the and the Rileys
and the Devrons and the Charleses and the whoever the hell else rolls through, it's fucking dope,
man. Because five years from now, it's going to be a whole, a lot of freedom
and a lot of capability. And I'm just bullish on that. So let's go, Epoch N five seven three.
How are you doing, Epoch N? How was your five seven four, baby? It's Epoch's beginning. Oh shit,
Epoch. Are we there now? Five seven four. Let's go. I like it, bro. But yeah, bullish as fuck on
Midnight Man. And how about those guys? One of the things that I really took away from
this epoch was mo money, mo problems. Because I see people catching strays all over my timeline
based on catalyst funding, and I gotta say, I don't like it. I don't like seeing wonderful,
bright young men being forced to. Confront negative, mean-spirited social media comments.
These things add up. I don't like it. I think it's gonna make people not want to go to Catalyst
for funding if they're just like it's gonna emotionally tax me to be associated with these grants.
Are you talking about big pay? Because like since Rare Bloom is here, you know, Devrin is here.
Fucking the first. I'm never gonna speak to you again. We have not been Rare Bloom in
four fucking years. No, they're not. They're not Rare Bloom. But but the first one,
and so that's what that's why that man's catching heat. Like he took a catalyst proposal back
in the day. He put his name on a catalyst proposal back in the day. He's not the only person though.
To start the first, there's been multiple. He's not the only person, and he didn't take
all that fucking money or any of that shit. He didn't take it. I appreciate. He didn't take it.
We we took the money from Catalyst and paid. The Gaylord to erect and run our stage. It was an in
and out situation. There was nothing. Resort for. Yeah, yeah. And the Gaylord. It was. So yeah,
whoever's whoever's giving pay hate about his catalyst shit should shut the fuck up
because they don't know what the fuck is going on. We have a history here of trying to tear
the builders down. Love or hate pay. For whatever reason, the M F R has been in the space
for six years now. Like he's not going anywhere. He is picking Cardano.
Like let's focus on the motherfuckers rug and shit, and not the motherfuckers building shit.
By the way, I never. I mean, there are many different organizations and individuals
who have accepted Catalyst funding. Who, especially in the last five days,
have received an enormous amount. Yes, I agree. And and we can have focused things if there's scams
or fraud being committed, and we should heat on that. But there's so much
that people are just kind of personalizing things in a strange way. And even if like, first off,
like, not every business is going to succeed. You can have the best intentions and still fail.
Whether there's not product market fit, whatever it is, let's focus on the people
like extracting value for nefarious purposes, not people like. Achrim hasn't failed.
It's still here. One, if you want to criticize a project, criticize the platform itself.
Don't don't personalize attacks. That's it's just totally counterproductive for you know us to keep
good projects and get rid of bad projects. If everybody's just catching strays, right? I built.
I succeeded. I came back. I built. I succeeded. I came back. I built. I succeeded. I came back.
What's the fucking problem, L? L, you have your hand up. Thank you, sir. I think that when somebody.
Asks and receives public funding, then they should expect public criticism. Some of it, I think,
is unwarranted. Some of it, I think, is warranted. The reality is that they've already got
the funding. You're not going to change that. But I think it's completely fair for somebody to be
conspicuous on the deliveries of public funding. And if they feel like that has been under delivered
on, then they are completely allowed to publicly state that and try to assure people
that maybe voting in somebody is not a good idea going forward. I agree with that completely.
Criticism sounds reasonable. You know, constructive or or not, it's criticism. Opinions matter.
The thing is, in this space, we turn criticism into attacks, and that's
when it kind of goes a little far. He's a scammer. He took money. Like, no,
he he's not a scammer because he took money. Yeah, no, I agree. I'm not saying you said that,
but I'm just saying, like in general, people like to pile on. I think you're spot on.
I think I think the problem with crypto is like people are easy to just point
and blame rather than being like objective. This, you know, I I didn't bring up Pay. Um,
I wouldn't have personally. I wish him well. I'm not a big fan of Atrium personally,
but I have no negative connotation. Like, it's wasting my time to say he shouldn't have got funding
because he did get funding and it's already done. So you're just wasting your time. Yeah, and you
and you came on and you were like, I don't like this platform. I don't think it serves a purpose.
Blah blah blah. Your opinion, perfectly valid criticism. It was. It's the stuff starts to get
twisted there, and people start to attack. And it it does. It makes people like screw this.
I'm just not going to build here, even though there's a fund specifically for me to start up
and build here, because I'm just going to get attacked for doing it. Well, and again,
reasonable criticisms get mixed in seamlessly within a single tweet by people.
That's what frustrates me. Is like, hey, you can have a legitimate criticism
and not blend it with some kind of far-fetched personal thing. It only, you know,
underhands your own criticisms. But it's like, you know what, I get frustrated with them. Or EPOC.
When I say something that I believe is objectively true and isn't personal,
and somebody still gets annoyed with me, it's like, well, you took that funding, right? So. For me,
I think there's a lot of objective things that I could say that I don't like about certain things,
and that's life. But I find it very weird—not even just disingenuous—or,
but I think you're a really fucking weird, like loser of a person when you start talking about
the way somebody looks or the way they, how much they weigh or how tall. Like, bro,
personal attacks—they're not appropriate. It's not appropriate at all. Yeah,
they—they—they already got the fund and they already got the money. You lose the debate
when you start personal attacks. It means that you no longer have a valid point anymore.
You have no arguments that make any sense. So I'm just going to say I don't like their hair,
or that person's ugly. Because you really you've lost the debate at that point. And if there is
constructive criticism in your, it loses it on the person that it's focused at.
So it's like you're just attacked. They're going to be defensive, of course. We're human.
It's almost like you know questioning someone. Then like when they question you back,
you know you you delete your Twitter and shit. Like it's like, nah. Do you know what it is, Debra?
It's like it's like when you start messaging a girl and then she don't reply and you're like,
you're ugly anyway. It's like hang on, you only said that because I'm back. Yeah, you're a lesbian.
I don't like you anyway. So, Bikram, you have your hand up. That's very kind of you, sir.
Very patient. Please go ahead. Yeah, I just you know I I got a question for you.
You know I don't understand this concept. So I mean, if anybody wants to sell a prototype,
a prototype for I mean I work for the ideas. I work for the sketches. I I you know
and I mean the ideas. I implement these things on the time. So should should I get eligible
for get funds from the catalyst? You know from the prototype. If if people believe in it, then
why not? Yeah, if you would specify if you apply for something with yeah,
if you apply for something in that guardrail and people like it, then yeah, yeah. So you know,
are you married yet, bro? In this sense, you know, I just think if any project will fifty percent
and they cannot pay other fifty percent for the funding related four percent,
but the prototype is still there on the chain, right? So you know, maybe Cardano can take
these projects who is under you know ongoing and it cannot build properly. Because of funds,
it's a project on the chain. I mean, the prototype on the chain. So maybe they can complete those.
Well, that depends on on the code, though, whether it's open source or closed.
Because if it's closed, then you you can't really do anything with something
that's you know just somewhat built. But but also let's just be specific,
because if you make a catalyst proposal, requesting funds, and you specify things,
and then you adhere to that that that those specified items that people voted to fund,
whether or not the project is to the liking of one percent of the community, or a hundred percent,
or in between over time, it's It's like we we just can't confuse like start using scam and fraud
and these words they're so loaded and they have real definitions right
and it's like not every project that gets funded is going to be perfect especially out of the gate
that doesn't mean it's a fraud and those terms shouldn't be used in my opinion
it's just not appropriate or or it should be saved for real true where like they said there's not
always an ROI right sometimes it's open source. Sometimes it's open source shit, right?
And and so the community just enjoys the open source shit, and it promotes the entire community.
So perhaps the ROI is also another thing that gets thrown around a lot. But it's a grant program.
You know, sometimes there is no ROI. It's a grant program. It is not a VC.
It's there should be no expected ROI. It is a grant program. I don't think that's.
I don't think that's the problem. I think where people are frustrated is is not necessarily
on illegitimacy, but distasteful obligations. That's where I think the problem is.
Where somebody is obliging to what they have set out, but in a distasteful manner. Yeah, yeah, no,
I agree with that. I just thankfully Catalyst has evolved to the point now that it's not a free
for all like it was in the early days with the milestone system and stuff. If you're a scammer
and you happen to, you know, talk your way into getting past, you might get
that first little ten percent distribution, but you ain't getting shit else unless you build
the stuff you promised. So that's nice. I just, I just wish like Catalyst itself gets a lot of hate,
and it's I mean they've been great for us. They allowed us to. Grow as a new company to become
a self-sustaining company that doesn't have to go to Catalyst to pay for our stage anymore.
You know, like that—that's kind of the point of Catalyst, right? Like, you know,
fund the startup to build the shit so they can do cool stuff for the chain. Like,
I just—I don't know. It frustrates me. We we have a new speaker joining us, Angry Crypto Show.
Happy Epoch's end. Welcome. Epoch's beginning. Sorry. Five seventy four. Begin
and you know doesn't matter. Potato potato. Tomato tomato. Technical jargon means everything.
Space needs way less technical jargon. It's getting a little out of hand. As a UX designer,
it's just cringe levels are over 9, 000. But back to what Devron was saying.
Thank you for joining us. I actually, I no, no, my pleasure, man. Thank you for bringing me up.
And I think big ram, yeah, like just build whatever you think is is great, and you know,
put it out there in in the you know in the public, and you know, maybe they'll love it,
maybe they'll support it. You know, often we get too hypercritical of ourselves. You know,
put it out there. You never know. You never know what people will resonate with.
And Devron's absolutely right. You know, it's kind of like that initial push, if you will,
to kind of bootstrap and start the spark. And I actually came to appreciate Catalyst a lot more as
like Treasury governance mayhem. I actually came to realize like, wait a second,
this is like a nice small, you know, bite-sized piece that can get people involved without like,
hey, here's a 500 million data request for the 9,000th API. You know, it it just kind of makes
it simpler. And the fact that they're they're not using idea scale, the UX is going to be better.
It's going to be more cohesive experience, and it's more democratic, right,
with the quadratic voting. It look. It really looks like they've taken, you know,
user feedback seriously, and I think I think Catalyst definitely. If people didn't like it
or they had some hiccups with UX, like looks like Fund 14 is shaping up to be like
a pretty well rounded product. When it comes to you know KPIs and building products that are
desirable and feasible and viable, you know, we would be here for ages discussing that.
I I just I highly recommend people to just take a look at the competitive landscape
and see you know the competitive products because. We seem to be
a little too infrastructure focused, and we forget that like we don't want an empty theme park.
We need roller coasters. We need like you know restaurants. We need. And when I say that,
I mean it as an analogy of DApps, right? When you when you think of we haven't been feeding
the trenches. Cardano has not been feeding the trenches. What does that mean?
If you look at the CNT ecosystem, it's 30 times smaller than our market cap,
but on Solana it's triple. So what does that mean? That means on Solana the meme coiner guys
like made their money. They did this. They did that. And so, part of that is
because of some of the grievances with the founding entities, a lack of like grant programs,
which Charles asked for time and time again. He's like, "Yo, why isn't CF doing grant programs
like Ripple and Solana and what have you?" So every every chain has a different strategy, right?
They have different DAOs, different ways to apply, and I think people should just, you know,
do what they think is best. Do your research, study, and put out products there. And yeah,
for the people who got funding in the past or this or that, it is what it is. You know,
we just got to be forward looking and do our best. Beautifully said, Angry Crypto Show.
Thank you for joining us for Epochs Beginning Five Seventy Four. What an incredible five days, guys!
We'll probably be wrapping up the space relatively soon, but we do have some new speakers that
I want to get in here, as well as L. You have your hand up, sir. But let's just say hello
and happy Epochs into CMOS. Been a while, sir. How are you? Oh, it. Getting high on my own supply.
Glad to hear it, buddy. How was your Epoch? What What do you got going on? Um,
dealing with some light canopy intensity issues. Got a Cardano-based web design project
I'm doing for somebody else. I'm wondering who this time around is going to come ask me to write
their proposal for them, as usual. Didn't they institute a new rule where you can't write a proposal
that's an improvement of an existing product? There are some new there's some new rules.
I'm not sure. Yeah, I mean there is some stuff about things being delivered within X amount
of previous funds. I think it was. I'm taking a client like parade around, like privately taking
personal responsibility for all these changes I complained about forever.
The quadratic voting as like a partial solution to the mathematical stranglehold that the whales
have over this. Epoch begins. 574. Let's uh, L, you had your updates here. Sorry, I'll go ahead.
That's okay, Debra. Oh, go on, Debra. Yeah, that's okay, buddy. I did hear
that you could not submit, like, you couldn't submit a proposal now to write version three
of your version
two dap. If that's what you mean by upgrading existing products, Tomas. Okay, it's interesting.
Well, if you got if you got catalyst funding for version two, I guess does that make sense? Like,
if you got catalyst funding to do your dap. And now you're coming back
two years later to write version two of your doc, and you're not catalyst funding for that.
In other words, you cannot double dip the chip. Well, and and it goes back to you know
Devron talking about you know the event is it's growing through successive funds.
It's not asking for you know it's finding success through the way these funds are being deployed,
and it's helping create a future where those funds won't have to be requested from Catalyst,
which isn't really an ideal situation to have happen gradually over time. And also,
sometimes projects will not have that happy story, and it'll be, hey, we collected funds,
we did the groundwork, and the the work that it took to make it a success, and we failed.
And those people shouldn't be accused of fraud. You know, each case is different,
and regardless of outcomes, about the work on that one. Well, it's it's about what the funding
was specified for in the catalyst request, right? It's like, did they do what
they said they were going to do? You can't guarantee a platform is going to be a a success or not.
You can only guarantee that you'll put in the hours to try to realize the vision. When I failed,
when when Cardano community was through with me after my failure to come through on my project,
I ended up living in a fucking sewer drain, a flooded sewer drain with a fucking possum
as a roommate that would help me eat the cockroaches to keep it a little bit cleaner.
That's how Cardano community treats people who fail. That's wrong. I think we can all agree
that that is wrong. That that was that happened to you, CMOS. What was the possum called?
He didn't have a name. That's even worse. Yeah, sometimes you just have bad ideas,
like people with good intentions, but the ideas crap. Sometimes you might actually have
nefarious intent. Sometimes it's a great idea at the wrong time. Not to generalize it,
we we have to understand that there's sometimes it's a bad idea at the wrong time as well.
Just like you guys, good idea with a bad person. Ad hominem is never good. Never,
always stay away from ad hominem. And like, if you see a bad person with a bad idea
at the wrong time. If you see a project that just like you, you find it distasteful,
then also remember, don't forget about the off-chain DAO, the public DAO, the town center.
That proposal will be up. People will remember. People will know. And so just act accordingly.
Like it's it's like biblical. Just walk into the desert, separate yourself,
and you know that the people will vote with their sentiments. They will follow them around
and know where these developers are flocking to. If it was hypothetically like very distasteful
and they didn't like it. So people always forget about off chain. Like everyone talks about code,
and they forget that humans need to settle before the transaction settles, right?
This is actually one of my big complaints about some of the stablecoin situation we've had here.
Is that sometimes it feels like Cardano devs want to reinvent everything,
and it's kind of like I'll give you a car analogy. Imagine if I don't want to buy like Goodyear,
Michelin, Pirelli, or Firestone, and I'm like, I want to make the tire myself. Yo, L,
let's make tires ourselves. Let's make transmissions ourselves. Hell yeah,
I want those ten thousand mile tires. You know, so like we have to also be aware
of the the landscape of um. How important off chain is attitudinal products that can work with us,
and also with with the proposals. If someone puts a bad proposal, just let it be. You know,
people will like people will respond. We and always we gotta try our best to avoid a attack
of character, as you guys mentioned earlier. Mo money, mo problems. That's why I cherish every day
as a broke person. I'm just kidding. Mo money, mo bitches, mo problems.
I want Mo walks on the beach with my chihuahua. That's what I want, Mo. Chihuahua, yeah right, man.
Couldn't pay me to have a chihuahua, yeah right. Refund that shit. Right, more chihuahuas,
more problems. More chihuahuas, more problems. Yeah. I just want to hear this guy, man.
He's talking about walking a chihuahua on the beach, bro. Yeah, I mean, it's a living,
breathing animal. You know what I mean? You hate him. Now we gotta tokenize chihuahuas
on the blockchain. We gotta tokenize. Put it on Snapchill, dude. Chill.
My chihuahua's gonna be the catalyst. There's no marketplace for ideas.
Like people sometimes have the most bizarre ideas. It's hilarious. I agree with you. No,
but I wanted to reply to something you said earlier. That's why I had my hand up.
Because you were talking about we need more rides, bro. You can have all the rides you want,
but if nobody's waiting in line for a hot dog, nobody want to get on a ride.
Then there's no point having a roller coaster. You need more people in the queue, in the lines.
That's what you need more of. We're talking chicken in the egg now, though, right? I mean, yeah,
yeah. No, it's not. It's not chicken in the egg. When the main source of your income is from
staking rewards, it's just siphoning it from like. Imagine roller coaster tycoon,
but it's two customers. You need new customers to come in. So the road, the new rides, like yeah,
the rides are the depths. Obviously, like the rides alone don't bring people in,
but you know you got to incentivize them. Like you said, maybe that hot dog stand, maybe you know,
little two for one pizzeria, you know, variety ways. We we have we always have to remember user
first. Don't build for yourself. I don't want to see that two hundred button remote. User first.
One button remote. Like five button remote. Not that you know. I want three hundred buttons
as a user. No, you got two buttons. Buy and hold. Done. Too many buttons.
Let's go to the hands though. Like a few, you know. We have Bikram raising his hand.
That's very kind of you, Bikram. Thank you for your patience and your considerations. Yeah,
you know, I just want to say something to the guy who, you know, the failed guy who lives in a drain
and eat cockroach. Yeah, the same thing happened with me when I was in India, you know. So,
you know, the do you know movie, the Slumdog Millionaire? Yeah, it's largely based on my, you know,
life. And it's like you know, I was. I'm seeing some laughing emojis here among the speakers. I'm,
I'm curious what was funny about what Bikram said. I mean, it's. Sad reality to have to experience.
Yeah. I mean, I don't believe him. Just gonna say it right now. Don't believe you. No,
I believe him. And even if it is a sad reality, it doesn't mean it's not funny still.
I actually do believe Bikram is the slam dick millionaire. I believe is what he said. Slam dick.
Don't curse, guys. You're better than that. I'm sorry. Come on. Hi, Epic M and five seven three.
Congratulations. Five seven eight is my favorite number. And oh man, there's Marine.
I think there's a lot of lovely people here today. How we doing? Yeah, welcome.
Thank you for joining us. Thanks. Epoch's end. Ooh, epoch's end. Yeah,
it's actually epoch's beginning now, five seven four. But we're just still kind of in.
We're we're collectively processing all the information that was thrown at us over
these last five days on Cardano and just sharing some laughter and some some good good cheer
in the process. This is perfect kind of environment that I like to enjoy. So how about Rare Evo?
Y'all gonna mix and mingle there too? Well, there's gonna be a lot of lot of mingling of ideas.
Perspectives. There's also going to be legal cannabis there. Not that I'm encouraging anyone
to do that in a place where you're not supposed to, but you know, it's pretty.
It's a beautiful thing. Ah, this is going to be so cool. Okay, and I really want to.
I have to figure out what the name of the Kava bar is. Macava is also sober fun. You know,
it's this kind of numbing agent. Vanuatu. Anyways, there's a Kava bar in Las Vegas.
I'm gonna try to get her to take crypto and have people go over there as a side event,
and all it'll be my side event, but then I won't be there. Well, and just you know, be careful,
everybody. Las Vegas is a is a very fun place, but it's, I mean, there's just so much fun
you can really just have. Be safe. Get a buddy partner. You should get a buddy partner
and keep it accountable. Keep your crypto, your hardware away from anyone. Don't give keys.
Don't be alone if you don't have to. You know, don't bring strangers home. Be safe. Have fun.
Bring some bear mace or like some type of pepper spray. Correct. Bear spray.
We we uh we have a hand up from Maureen. Thank you, Maureen. Welcome back. Happy epoch's beginning,
guys. Um, angry. You said something about um people not saying something when they see
a bad proposal because people are gonna figure it out. And I was, I, I, I used to feel the same way,
but then that changed a little bit. So I was gonna ask you what happens
when people just don't figure it out because they're stupid, you know, and then they get it funded.
Yeah, good question. Well, I thought, uh, I, I know I saw like a response from you on like on
on the house one or something like that, and. Sometimes some of them have to be called out. So,
like to your credit, like some of them have to be called out. It's really it's not a black or white.
I think it's just contextual. If there's like a vote, let's just say hypothetically,
there's a proposal that's ultra cringe and like it's not even on people's radar, anyways. Then
why even bother? But if it's like something catastrophic and it you know it's it's a gargantuan fund
or something, or people are are engaging in kind of misleading activities,
then I guess it just depends on the context because sometimes it needs to. And unfortunately,
with X, if you kind of like tell the truth, people see it as a protest because of bag bias
and everyone rallying behind you know an emerging market. If you say something objective,
they kind of think of it as like. If you say one plus one equals two, they might be like, no,
you're fudging, you know. As an example, I'm just saying. So it it really is just contextual. Um,
I I'm kind of leaning more into my angry saga of like, because I I told Charles too,
with all due respect, I'm like, you know, you you say the most advanced stablecoin in the world,
but like, can we get to 20 mil stablecoin issuance? Because Ripple just issued that in one day,
right? They're almost at 600 million. So we have to be. It's okay for us to be optimistic,
altruistic, and aspire to be great, but it's good for us to have a little tinge of of of humility
and and and especially like realism, being pragmatic. So. You know, act accordingly. You know,
like if you see something and it rubs you the wrong way, I think it's it's totally okay.
Just do it in a way that is civil and objective, and and not like attacking. And and you know,
because I I totally welcome dissent. I think people should have varying opinions.
And the only way we'll grow as Cardano is if we can identify pain points and and kind of be like,
you know what, this is okay, but how about this? We should try our best not to be super nice
to one another, and endorse products that might be badly designed, that might be lacking
good user experience design, that might be lacking like something because.
If we just support it blindly, we're pushing a product that we're developing in the dark,
and and and then when we don't get the success we want, we're going to realize very later on,
you know, oh wait a second, the ticker was bad or this was bad, right?
I criticize Jed for having a terrible ticker. No one knows it's USD because DJED. What is that?
DJ Ed? DJ Edward? Yeah, that's been an interesting. For a stablecoin, you'd think they put USD,
and I know I'm right because we've seen projects rebrand, die, USDS, right? RLUSD, USDC, USDT.
So these are just like things that they're not personal by any means, and I think the best we can do
is just always avoid ad hominem, which is like an attack of character, and always address it.
And if if someone's being bitter, Maureen or anyone else, if anyone's like attacking you,
just you know, leave it be. And we just got to try our best to be meek and give objective,
be solution oriented. It's okay for us to point something out, but just be solution oriented.
And maybe that means you call out a proposal. Maybe that means this, you know.
So we just got to be real and try our best to balance. I'm looking at the pros
and cons of allowing comments, you know, and social discussion around a public proposal profile
because you know one a a person could say that doing so is when when you leave a comment making
an argument for why a proposal is shitty, for example, one could argue that that is an attempt
take away agency agency of thinking of a person who would otherwise just read it and you know vote
or not vote think for themselves. Yeah, there's so much nuance to this. Like,
how many people also won't apply because they feel like the moment they apply,
the people will view them completely different. There's so much dimension to not even applying,
just participating in the conversation. People are like, I don't even want to participate in
that conversation because it's so toxic. Forget applying for catalyst funding
or any of these things. That's that's the disappointing thing to me is we have to keep
the conversation going, and if you disagree with someone, having a conversation with them
in a public format is a great way to allow them to kind of show why you disagree with them.
You don't need to control the conversation. It's like I just never understood that.
Why would you want to silence the people you don't agree with? Just let them speak
and let the ideas play out. It's yeah. Sorry. Sure. Yeah. I mean, that's what I do.
You have a team with a you know zero sum mindset, you know scarcity mindset. No,
both of you bring up great points. You know, there's nothing wrong with that. I mean,
that kind of reminds me of Elon when he's like, you know, people reply,
and it's basically a search for truth. Or if people abandon a conversation,
then people can come in in the public forum to take a look. Like, okay, this guy said this.
They can come to their own conclusions. I've always been a proponent of just like let people come to
their own conclusions. And grant situation stuff is tricky. Like it's you know,
there's a lot of depth to it. But I mean, all of you guys have made good points. Well,
and here's here's when it's not not to dwell on negatives because I think this is a positive thing
overall, but I know this is not. I don't have solid stats on this, but I just know that a lot
of people who engage with these things have not actually read the catalyst request for funding,
so it's like they're just jumping off from a point of. It's just not a good basis
for a conversation. Is my point. It's like if we don't even know what's in
these catalyst fund requests, and yet we're commenting on whether or not it was a scam
or it was misused funds. It's like you can have that opinion, but just back it up with citation from
how like examples of how you think this is happening. And I'm not saying everybody doesn't do that.
Like there are some criticisms that people provide. Support for it, but then I'll just see it take
off, like in the community, and I'm thinking, okay, this is kind of going mini-viral.
But I know these people did not go read these catalyst proposals, and see and juxtapose that
with if it's been delivered or not. It's just not happening, so it's not a real conversation. Yeah,
it's it's definitely important for it. It's a reminder for me, as much as it's like I'm saying this,
but fine discernment is so important. You know, when I saw that like likely mature
Cardano's likely mature fake news spread like wildfire. I got that one. Got me. You know,
it got it got many people got crypto jab. It got well, but I mean, according to like the the the
according to the fucking according to what? No, like what it said. Like you know,
you can't have twenty percent in the hands of founding and you know all of that shit.
I think we checked all the boxes. So whoever posted that shit,
as if it was like published somewhere, was was you know that was a hoax. But at the same time,
like I think we do comply. Well, we have to be like I'll give you an example, right? Like um.
When we criticize like Coin Bureau for saying CEO to Charles, and we community community note them,
but then we spread fake news as if it's like actually the government
literally said this verbatim quote. You know, we have to we have to do our best to be
discern discerning and like make sure like hey, what, where is this coming from?
Is this is this reputable? Did they actually say that? You're right. Like Cardano is ready, set,
go for like the most decentralized and you know battle tested network effect.
But the the the post in question was saying government said this. And it got thousands
of engagement. It spread like wildfire. And yet, the CTO of Input Output put a tweet saying,
"This is not true. They never said this." And his post got like three retweets.
Kind of goes back to like what I'm. The point I'm making is that people love to just study
the surface, and then they just share that, and they don't really look at the the depth.
So even with these proposals, you know, like it's important for us to kind of like if if we're not
an expert at it. Don't definitely not make those accusations. This guy's a scammer.
That guy does that. You know, we got to do our best. No, I I generally just retweet like when I
when I see a proposal when I see somebody doing the work like putting the putting the putting
the tweets out there like I just retweet the tweet. It doesn't necessarily mean that I endorse uh
supporting the thing. But I do want it to be amplified. You know what I mean?
Like that—that's kind of the idea. Is we got to spread the message. At the same time,
we want everything you're saying is good. I'm just saying that, like, we should be very cautious
when people jump to these like villain conclusions. That guy's a scammer. That guy's a griefer.
This guy's grifting. I just mean that. No, everything you're saying is correct. Like,
it's good to rally behind. Can I? Can I just say something angry? I I think that the problem,
one of the problems with these catalyst funds, is that people don't even know how catalyst works.
So you could close a fund, you set the report to, catalyst, and it's completed,
but since people on X expect you to maybe make a demo video saying, hey, I did this
and and it's here and and yada yada, and you don't do that, you're a scammer,
and that's the problem, right? So, you're seeing something and it says completed, funds given,
and you're still trying to dig up and say that this person is a scammer even
before they even get a chance to maybe make a public post saying, thank you to the community
and all whatnot. Then you have a problem. You're fishing for something,
and that's really a sad life, to be honest. To be fair, like Twitter doesn't decide
when your catalyst proposal benchmarks or whatever have been met. There are people on the back end
who do that, and and we trust them to do that. And that's what decentralized
fucking governance is about. So, like, are are you down with the fucking program,
or are you out here like, do you need? What's funny is you need Twitter to market your shit.
But you need those those those people who are literally working for no fucking money on the backend,
or maybe they're working for somebody. I don't know. Maybe they're maybe they're being paid.
I thought that those reported benchmarks were publicly available somewhere. No. Right, right, right.
Now, now, CMOS, you did show up at at the at the the household in in Denver,
and you did tell people in that household that you needed to stay there,
and you also described to them how you've been scamming people. Is that true or not?
That is not true. That is the version of the story that was told by some meth addicts
that were going through a very difficult time. Sorry, I'm sorry. Okay, okay, okay, okay. See,
I didn't, I didn't know you were meth addicts, and so that explains some things. That does,
that does explain a lot of things, and so that's why I brought that up. And so, thank you, C Moss.
No problem. Oh man, you are endlessly fascinating, C Moss. What a character!
What a Cardano character! Bro, I I got a cockroach infection. Like, will you come fucking
like infestation? Not infection. Uh, uh, will you fucking come clean up my fucking roaches for me?
Like, can you send your your possum over to my crib? Let's not make jokes at C Moss's expense.
He opened up to us and was very vulnerable about a very tough time in his life where he was living.
At the mouth of a sewer with a possum that would help keep his domicile clean. Yo, possums are cute.
Possums are chubby. I saw one the other night. It was an adorable possum. Very cute. Very chubby.
Like a well-fed neighborhood possum. Yeah, those those well-fed motherfuckers.
They like hiss at you like. He just had a lot of character to his strut, and he didn't.
We didn't really make eye contact, but he just strutted along past me. It was very cute. Aww.
Chubby. His belly. He was so chubby. His belly was scraping the asphalt as he. No, he wasn't.
I want him to bring him over. I had a leash on. Fine, let's do the biggest now. Let's go early.
Possum's already already on the the fucking bonding curve on fucking second fun.
Possum is already fucking like approaching. Let's be serious. Oh wait, wait, wait! We just borrowed.
We just borrowed. The ticker is possum. Go. Well, hey everybody, this has been a wonderful space.
We've discussed so much here. This is epoch begins five seventy four. Um, we will be back on
the next epoch. End will be on Thursday, this upcoming Thursday. So sometimes.
That'd be a rare bloom. That'd be like a rare, like on a rare day. And so,
are you going to be like highlighting the rare shit? Of course. Yeah. No, I hadn't even.
That's how short-sighted I am. I hadn't even thought about that. But it'll be definitely
a rare Evo type of space for sure. And if anybody's in Vegas and hanging out, you know,
you want to live in the moment and have fun, but maybe you'll want a nice little pocket of.
Maybe you'll be kind of like, oh my god, I need a window outside of Vegas, just even for 20 minutes,
so I can get in touch with. Because it's such an alluring concoction, it just pulls you in,
and suddenly, it's like you're a hot air balloon just floating. You don't, you're not.
That's what Vegas does to you, man. It's it's a crazy place. Before you know it,
you're walking across lanes of traffic that you shouldn't be walking across,
looking for a pack of cigarettes that you shouldn't be smoking, and fucking,
it's like all it like all rules are fucking off because your wife is at home
and fucking who knows what the who knows what's happening next, and you're probably gonna get hit by
a fucking like Uber or some shit. Yeah. That went so dark. That went so dark fast.
But but everybody have a great epoch. We're gonna wrap it up now. But thank you guys for joining.
There's a lot of fun. Thank you. Appreciate you very much. Yeah, we'll be back on Thursday.
Please keep a notepad on your desk or maybe on your toilet, and just jot down interesting things
as they happen throughout the epoch, because there's so many good ones that they just slip through
our fingers like like grains of sand at the beach, you know. But that's what these spaces are all
about. We're gonna collect as much of that sand as possible. And then we're gonna blow some glass.
We're gonna create some glass sculptures. Okay, the analogy is kind of running dry,
but thank you guys very much. Have a have a great epoch. No, no, bro.
Have you ever have you ever seen like when they stick the lightning rods in the sand,
and then the lightning fucking hits the lightning rod? Yes. And fucking makes that's
exactly sand glass. Here every five days. That's what we're doing here.
The fucking you gotta get the bolt of lightning. The. Okay.
Goodbye for now, guys. Have a great epoch. We'll do it again soon.
