it dude i love it honestly well with that being said uh you know matt go ahead and take the stage
man tell us a little bit about yourself how you you got involved in the crypto scene, how you got involved with Facet and what you guys are building as well.
Yeah, absolutely. So just for some context, my background is mostly in the entertainment business.
So coming to Facet, it was kind of like a perfect marriage in terms of background and skills.
But yeah, I've been at web 3 for coming up five years
now i joined the ecosystem as someone in the entertainment business trying to just find better
solutions for monetizing um in the music industry so i played around with music nfts for a lot of
the time i had a project called the lonely listeners club you might be familiar with we
launched 2022 on magic eden um from there launched a product called listenin.io which we entered in
the slot of grizzly thawne back in which got us an arwell mention which we've kind of sunset it ever
since um and then trev um one of the co-founders at facet we met in the listeners club and we ended
up working together for you know a couple of years and then he introduced me to sean sean's
working on this really cool platform with trev called facet they brought me on and the rest is
history we've been working on that since and um i guess i called Facet. They brought me on and the rest is history.
We've been working on that since.
And I guess I can give a little bit of a TLDR on what Facet is, who we are and what we do.
We're basically building a full Web3 e-commerce solution.
So think Shopify, but fully on-chain.
Everything's on-chain from your payments to the inventory tracking.
Everything is token-gated.
So everything's on- chain from end to end um and what's really unique about our platform is that from a user standpoint
you can either discover new shops in web3 on our marketplace or you can shop with familiar brands
such as amazon nike sephora best buy and hundreds more and earn cash back and crypto so we really
want to be the all-in-one shopping solution for web3 so there's
no use you know shopping on your regular platforms you're discovering shops scrolling through
instagram reels when you could do it directly on web3 if you're a web3 native user um and if you
want to shop you know conduct your regular shopping online you can do that on our platform as well and
earn cashback crypto now from the standpoint of being a seller, you might ask, why would you use a new platform
when you could just use Shopify?
Well, as you might know, Shopify fees are extremely expensive,
especially if you're utilizing crypto payments.
Fees can be up to 14% per transaction
if you're using Solana Pay,
which can get really expensive,
especially if you're already a seller in this ecosystem
trying to sell merchandise with really, really thin margins.
Every dollar counts.
Beyond that, nothing's really on chain when it comes to shopping with Shopify.
You know, they've tried to dabble within the Web3 ecosystem a little bit by offering payment solutions.
But our platform allows you to completely have everything on chain.
So as soon as you connect your wallet on a facet, it actually creates a user profile.
And that user profile, you can track things like merchandise merchandise you can track things like your inventory for example sorry um you can track
transactions you can track your affiliate activity everything just from your wallet and we utilize
uh dynamic compressed nfts the new v2 nfts from menaplex in order to be able to track transactions
so with each transaction there's a compressed n NFT that's attached to that piece of inventory
that gets minted when you purchase.
And that transaction is dynamically attached
to wherever you're at in the transaction, essentially.
And what's really cool for sellers
is they can repurpose that and utilize it
for future transactions with that specific buyer.
So if they wanna repurpose it for discounts
or they wanna repurpose it for say an NFT collection
they're launching or anything they really want
because dynamic NFTs are so flexible um sellers can can repurpose that however they see fit um
we expect them to be used a lot for discounts just because it makes the most sense but what's
really cool is like up until now there hasn't really been a way to really use nfts as kind of
a quote-unquote receipt it's always been too expensive in some type of way.
And with these new V2 compressed NFTs from Metaplex and using a platform like Facet,
they can be super scalable. So yeah, it's a bit of a TLDR on myself and the platform.
Love it, dude. Love it. Honestly, dude. There's not a lot of, I would say e-commerce, you know, platforms in Web3 that are building, you know what I'm saying? And it's a very niche platform.
Are you guys partnering with, you know, a lot of like the, you know, Solana, like Solana Pay
and others like that with your transactions or who, how are you guys doing that?
It's a great question. So talking talking about partnerships it's a funny subject because
we always joke around that we've had an easier time securing partnerships in web 2 than we have
in web 3 um you know when we came and and started building out facet we're fortunate that sean had
a previous project with a lot of established relationships with major brands like nike and
amazon and we're able to bring this product back to them and essentially say hey you know we have
a new product or we have a proof of concept here would you guys like to become affiliate partners
with us and it was a lot easier to secure those relationships than it was in web 3 when it comes
to chasing down um you know some desired partners that we have now in terms of like payment solutions
everything is on chain so we haven't like we haven't even bothered seeking out any fiat solutions yet, just because we firmly believe
that we can onboard people to set up a wallet.
It's not that difficult to do.
And there's limited friction on our platform to the point that there's no purpose to providing
a solution right now when we would rather onboard a new wallet to the ecosystem versus
taking a credit card payment.
So we haven't really seeked out any specific partnerships in terms of
payment solution, but in terms of some alpha,
I know we got a lot of soul flare badges up here.
We actually have officially partnered with soul flare now as our preferred
wallet provider.
We just got the green light from them this week that we can announce that
we're a partner with them.
We are going to get some marketing support from them uh leading up to our v2 mint we have like actually a piece of content already kind of locked in that they're going to be helping co
co-market with us so we're super stoked about that um we have some meetings this week with
metaplex and magic eden uh regarding our v2 mint or open exclusive partnerships there um you know
it's looking
quite promising but yeah super stoked with the soulfire partnership that was i guess some of the
alpha i was planning on dropping today so let's fucking go well this is definitely the the space
to do it at you know i'm saying with especially with all these badges up here bro and in the
community you know that we bring to the table dude so it's it's a great time to definitely you know
oppose that or bring that up. Dude, I'm excited.

out what with this oh i figured it out so i'm skipping you guys now um but now dude i want to
ask you do you guys have a v1 collection as well or is it just a v2? Yeah, we do. We actually have, we've been to the microcop collection, super low supply, just kind of test the grounds for our platform and being able to redeem NFTs for RWIs, real world items.
So basically we've been to the microcop collection, 80 supply, 4.4 soul mint price.
We did pretty well.
You know, we raised 280 soul in this market, which is pretty impressive.
We're really happy to say that we're able to pull that off and do it with, you know, pretty much a paper thin marketing budget.
So we do have a V1 collection.

well after our visa after our platform launch where you can redeem that nft you would lose
your discount from 50 to 25 however you can redeem it and receive a rwi um i'm not going to divulge
what that rwi is but just say it's something precious
something quite valuable um so you know we've uh we've shared a lot of details in terms like what
that is in our discord and on our twitter so i'm sure if you look around close enough you'll be
able to find out what it is but um we really want to nail the point home that the value is really
in that platform discount but we wanted to attach something to them just so we can quote unquote be unruggable you know if there's any instance where the platform tomorrow two of our
founders were to just croak and die um and the platform just wasn't able to continue to be built
um there was a possibility for our holders to redeem for an rwi um that's worthwhile so that

focus is kind of real world use and nfts basically design nfts for real world use and bring it out
there and that you can basically tokenize anything on there right so how can i imagine this process um am i going to
send it over to you are you then going to like screen it with a camera whatever um how does this
process work i'm just curious sean you want me to give you a little alley-oop here our lead dev might
be the best fit to answer this to give you some like real alpha so sean's available yeah sorry i'm
now driving in a car with with children so if you hear anything i apologize um yeah so you know the
idea is everybody starts off and matt kind of hit on it a little bit but i'll dive a little bit
further into it so you know when you initially connect a wallet

um maybe but you you can jump in if you're back no no you're good man take it away okay
all right so um you know when you initially connect right you connect as as a buyer and
then you can choose to become a seller you pay a small fee. There's obviously going to be like ratings and things to sellers.
So like whether it's an individual transaction or, you know, items in a store or the store itself.
So we'll be monitoring all of that.
But as you were saying, you can literally start your own store, start selling items.
Obviously, if things start to have problems,
we do have like basically a built-in escrow service.
So like when a buyer buys,
the protection there is that like,
because the NFT itself is dynamic,
we track the process.
So like it goes from ordered to, you know, shipped,
then from shipped.
And so again, you know,
the seller has to put in tracking
information which then will update the the metadata on the nft to shipped and then once
it's been delivered it'll show delivered on the nft and then is it is it where it's confirmed
so the buyer themselves are the ones that actually confirm that they've received the item and it's
in good order and then it it functionally releases the escrow funds to the
seller's wallet ah i see so it's kind of locked for the period of time until the the item actually
arrives the correct buyer then yeah we're trying to you know there's no claw this is smart yeah
there's no clawbacks in in crypto right so like you can't call your credit card company and be
like it was fraud because the person didn't do what they were supposed to do, right? They didn't ship whatever,
or it was wrong, you know, whatever it may be. So yeah, so we built in a, you know, a seller side
escrow service. But obviously, you know, we want to take care of the buyer, but also we want to
make it logically important for the seller as well. So, you know, you're a buyer and you've
bought like, you know, 10 different items buyer and you've bought like, you know,
10 different items from 10 different stores. What if you forget to confirm the purchases and it's
been confirmed as delivered? We have a built-in auto release feature. So once it's been delivered
after seven days, it automatically releases escrow funds to the seller, unless there's a flag on the
transaction itself. And the flag can only be
raised by the buyer themselves. So let's say I did receive the item, but I ordered a green hat
and I got shipped a black hat, right? I can flag it and just say, hey, and we've also built in
actual direct communication between the buyer and the seller on the transaction itself. So the buyer
can reach out to the seller. And again, we're not
transferring names or email addresses or any of the other stuff. It's literally just wallet to
wallet communication that's built into our system. So if again, I got shipped the wrong hat, I can
say, hey, I got a green hat instead of a black hat. And they say, oh, we're so sorry about that.
Let's go ahead and ship you out a new one they put in new tracking information it updates the nft to show again
now it's been shipped and then once they receive the item correctly they can confirm it and it
releases those funds back to escrow or out of escrow to the seller wallet let's go yo this is
a super smart system actually too yeah make this easy accessible for some people as well i can see
i can already see a lot of use cases here, let's say for, I don't know,
especially when we think of the Web3 sector, right?
I guess because this is most of the time the first approach
or the first community that you tap into, right, without a question.
I see use cases here like, I don't know, specific merch
or specific fan articles from communities, right?
That people might tokenize as a first step and send this over as an NFT, right?
Yeah, exactly.
And it doesn't have to be just a real world item, right?
So RWIs or RWAs, it can be digital content as well.
So like maybe access to alpha groups or specific discords or specific, you know, discords or whatever it may be.
Um, it's really up to the seller.
So they do have the ability to do digital and or physical items as well.
I, you know, I have a question now because it, it is an NFT, right?
And I can basically put whatever I want to be displayed in my NFT.
whatever I want to be displayed in my NFT, right?
Right.
Because I see here a use case maybe also for, I don't know,
content creators, right?
That have paid deals with certain companies or whatsoever.
You can simply upload your video as an NFT and then, you know,
send it over there and they can just use it as soon as they pay you.
For example, right?
This adds like a security layer.
Exactly.
Very interesting use case, in my opinion.
So yeah, you guys are cooking hard.

The sky is the limit on what people can do.
You know, and I think we're really just scratching the surface.
And to give you some kind of like bigger picture stuff, I mean, the idea,
and I think, you know, Matt touched on a little bit with cnfts is that like there there's an ability to ship this into real you
know we'll call web 2 right where everything's on blockchain you know you go shop at target
your receipt's actually a digital right on block solana nft and uh yeah i mean that's kind of the direction that we really see
things going anyway i mean it might be three to five years from now but like building out the
infrastructure is is important i think that's like something i think builders on on any chain
but specifically solana they're looking for the short-term turn where it's like i feel like here
at faso we're looking you know yes currently what we need to deliver for like the things that are
important now but also really looking into the future and saying like how do we make this what
it needs to be three five years from now you know which in in crypto space that's like you know
now you know which in in crypto space that's like you know a hundred years for most people so
but just really trying to be cognizant of that as well i love it man i love it i want to kind
of tap into something as well before i pass over to ftl but how do you guys know you know for like
security reasons that you know these these you know shipments are being placed you know so if
they order something on on the website that that shipment you know i know they know shipments are being placed you know so if they order something on on
the website that that shipment you know i know they get the nft but how do they is there a way
that you guys are confirming that these things are actually happening when it gets shipped
yeah so again from the seller side you know they put in shipping information they can choose not
to use tracking but it really comes down to the buyer, right?
The buyer has to respond to the delivery. So, you know, if they're not going to send tracking
information, let's say it's something maybe local, you know, they want to save a little bit,
so on and so forth. The buyer has to actually trigger the event to release funds from escrow.
So if a seller wants to get paid, that's what they got to do. They do they actually have to deliver right they have to actually deliver the product where the buyer responds
got it got it perfect perfect ftl what you got bro you got anything
yeah man no i i love about the uh product or the platform i i got the chance to hear about it
last week a little bit and i'm i'm of just wondering, like, with your guys' payment system, would you be taking payments in, you know, stable coins or would you be taking them in crypto?
We do both.
And so that's actually a really great question.
So we try to think about kind of like every scenario possible.
And one of the things is, you know, if I'm a seller, right, because I try to
put myself in everybody's shoes. If I'm a seller, let's say I bought my wholesale t-shirts that I'm
printing off for my community or whatever, or just even if I'm just selling shirts, right?
I paid eight bucks for them. I did my screen printing. You know, my total cost is, let's say,
16 bucks. I want to make a guaranteed $25, right? USDC, right? Or USD.
When you set your actual pricing, it's set in USD or USDC. So the buyer has the choice of paying
in USDC or in Seoul. We're looking at actually adding other tokens too in the future. So if you
have a community that has like a token that's, you know, people have, they want to purchase, you know, specific items from a store.
As long as they pass kind of like the balance test, right,
to make sure that there's actually enough funds in their token
to like do the transactions, then, you know, we will look into it.
But yeah, to answer your question is the price that you see in Solana
are actually dynamically priced.
So you'll see it actually change about every 15 seconds on the site so if you're purchasing something it was originally
priced in usdc because that's set by the seller so this is how much they want to make right
whatever their margin might be and then it just continually updates in the solana pricing
that's awesome yeah i think it's similar to like a lot of exchanges and wallets where they kind of just have the option to flip it between the stable value and the coin value. So that's cool. But yeah, I did have another question about kind of like the return process, like on a refund, if someone were to kind of like bring that transaction back and say that something was
not right exactly no that's another great question so we do have a built-in refund policy as well
um so you know again let's say my example was i i ordered let's say a black hat but i got a green
hat right you flag the event so the escrow does not get released you're communicating directly
with the seller they say hey let me ship you out the new one i escrow does not get released. You're communicating directly with the seller.
They say, hey, let me ship you out the new one.
I can send you basically a return label as well.
You ship it back, so on and so forth.
But it's directly between the buyer and the seller.
And then let's say, worst case scenario,
like you said, you don't want to receive
the black hat anymore that you ordered.
You ask for a refund.
They hit the refund button.
It takes the money out of escrow and sends it back to you as the buyer.
It's pretty smooth. Yeah, I like that. There's not really a third party involved, but
the transaction's kind of done automatically. Right. And if a flag, and so that's another
thing, kind of like on the God side or what we call the God status side, which is the admin side
for us. If there's a transaction that's been flagged for like on the God side or what we call the God status side, which is the admin side for us.
If there's a transaction that's been flagged for a certain amount of time, we'll go in and actually review it.
And if, let's say, the seller isn't responding and the buyer said, hey, like, I'd like a refund, we can actually manually do it as well.
So, you know, we want to leave it in much as much in the buyer and the seller transaction aspect as possible. But we also know that, like, things happen, you know know so we don't want the buyer sitting there you know holding you know nothing basically and
we also don't want to leave the seller out of the equation but if if something does kind of get a
little a little out of whack we can always step in and actually cause a refund back to the buyer
yeah that's awesome. So are you guys

our leasing feature was actually from a town hall that we had and it was just a person in our

that's cool let's let's build it out so we built out actually a leasing feature for
rnfts so that you maintain control over it.
It's always in your wallet,
but you can actually generate a lease to another seller
that maybe doesn't have the NFT
that can actually use your discount.
And they have to pay you monthly and we track it.
And if they don't pay, the lease is canceled
and your NFT goes back out onto the marketplace
to be possibly leased by another business.

you updated um one last question was i don't know if you guys i i think you guys touched up on it
but are you guys able to you know am i able to apple pay this you
know uh and and by you know do a transaction that way or or put a credit card or debit card in
or is it just strictly crypto yeah we i mean we could always integrate it right i mean i have an
open call with with stripe so they've approved us for nfts and even you know token based transactions
obviously when you do that they also approve you for actual credit card transactions and everything else like that, too.
So we haven't, like, integrated that only because it seems like most people are more interested in, like, more of a true Web3 experience.
But as we start onboarding Web2 businesses, you know, post-V2 or going into B2, we're going to listen, right?
And it's just turning it on is the best way to put it.
You know, we want to make sure that our system and our platform is very user-friendly and, you know, make sure that that process stays clean.
But, yeah, to integrate, you know, a straight payment system into our platform is not difficult.
So it's more of, like, what do people want? If they want the option, great, then we'll do it. But so far,
it doesn't seem that way. So we haven't. But we're always open, you know, again, as people
join the platform, if that's something that's a resounding thing that they want, then we will.
It just adds some interesting difficulties in the sense that it's not necessarily
taking the payments problem.
It's that now we would have to do a lot more KYC
on businesses that are on the platform
because we're taking basically transaction payments
for them.
And then we would need banking information
to submit those payments to as well.
So we would basically functionally build
another escrow account,
but in actual USD that tracks everything as well.
So it's really up to, again, sellers too,
like how much do they want to disclose?
Because again, right now it's mainly just wallets.
If they want to include an email address, they can,
but they don't have to.
Got it, dude. Honestly, I love it, dude. Like I said, I love the fact that you guys are,
you know, building this and, you know, bringing NFTs to the table and being able to integrate
