GMGM, welcome to Coffee with Captain.
Show 1111. I'm a one but a different kind of steak sauce. GM, GM, welcome to Coffee with Captain. Show 1,111.
As I said earlier, it's 11 years of good luck.
I got some feedback.
One second.
Man, jinx the good luck there.
I'm kidding.
11 years of good luck for anyone who tunes in today.
Tell your friends.
Don't miss it.
And while you're at it, it's a YouTube sub-a-thon.
It's a Friday.
So if you haven't already, go over to, hit that, uh, the like, give us a sub and don't forget
tomorrow is the newsletter. Not only is it important that you go sign up for the newsletter.
If you haven't yet, you can hit that at coffee with captain.com. We don't spam you just hit you
once a week this Friday, or I'm sorry, this Saturday, extremely important newsletter pool
will be what is pain's rap name. If you
missed it, we had the world premiere yesterday of a new jingle. We have another jingle coming
next week as well. And very important that we, more important than a new camera or upgrading
any of the hardware or tech, it's very important that we collectively determine what is the proper
rapper name for producer Payne. That said, as always, I'm Cap.
No co-hosts today.
It's a Friday.
We're going to have some fun.
If you have anything on your mind
that you'd like to discuss with us,
throw in a request to come up on stage and join us
or drop your comments in the YouTube chat,
the abstract chat, or the X video chat.
All those are pinned up top.
If you are catching the replay,
whether it's on podcast or YouTube,
again, coffeewithcaptain.com, drop your email there and would love to hit the double sub.
It's a double sub Friday. Sub to YouTube, sub to the newsletter. It's show 1111. That's all I have
to ask. That's my wish. I think you're supposed to make a wish at 11.11.
And I would wish that you all subscribe to YouTube. As soon as we get 500 subs, I can stop talking about it. But until we get to 500 subs over there, I have to continue to shill it.
I'm contractually obligated to shill the YouTube.
Oh, sorry.
Got a shark.
Thought I was going to lean into something else there,
but we're going to leave that one for now.
We might hit it on here in a little bit,
but I saw Cheezus flew up here.
One of the, well, hold open topic.
No, no, we got rained out last night.
We got one of those Florida storms that comes and goes in like 15 minutes,
but the JV game got delayed because of lightning.
And then they'd say they were going to start about a half hour late.
And just as they finished like the national anthem and announcing the starters, it started downpouring.
And the lightning siren went off.
So it got pushed back again.
And they basically just, they postponed it.
Instead of starting the game at like 9 p.m., they just postponed it.
So no game last night.
Wow, Dort.
Big tip or 1-1-1-1.
Pingu, Dort gets the 100 bonus points for leading off the big tips over there.
Greatly appreciate that.
Appreciate you.
And if you missed it the other day, I was giving some flowers to Dort and Law and Barov and everyone over there that's doing so much at Welcome Apes. Really, really
impressive grassroots community initiative. I think all Web3 teams, communities should pay
attention. What they're doing is, it's part of what makes Web3 so special. It's part of what
makes the Board API Club special. Am I biased towards that club?
But this is just go check it out.
I mean, what they've built from a community-led initiative,
this isn't Yuga, this isn't the team.
This is, you know, daily welcoming messages,
making new holders feel welcome in the community,
pointing them in the right direction,
connecting them with regional groups
and regional sub-communities.
In addition to hosting a welcome meeting once a month,
and now they have welcomeapes.com live
and you have some campaigns on there.
As soon as new members complete the campaign,
they get a welcome kit, welcome package
that's built with all kinds of goodies
from many other community members.
it tugs on my heartstrings. And as someone who I'd like to say, I'm active in this space. I've been here for 1,111 consecutive weekdays at minimum. It makes me want to do, to get to re-engage
and be more active specifically in the Board of Yacht Club community because there is so many incredible people like Dort and Law and Moral and
many others that just, it's, it's not just a buzzword. It's not just saying it's a strong
community and strong club. It's, they, they really are. And, uh, grateful to, uh, um, grateful to be
a part and grateful to call them friends. And,. And yes, thank you again for the very generous trip.
GM YouTube crew, appreciate you all being over there for show 1111.
And a lot to get into today.
Kind of a, I'm going to update the X spaces title.
I was proud of my hit me this morning.
Every once in a while I get a witty thought or comment or post.
And this one was, we're going to call it fight of the penguin today instead of flight of the penguin. I thought that was, that's my,
it's my zinger for the day. Before we get into the fight of the penguin or markets or a, you know,
last time we heard from ZachXBT, it was outing some kid doing selling KOL wallets for a couple hundred grand.
This time a little more impactful.
His investigation led to the FBI arresting another kid who stole $46 million from the U.S. government.
We'll talk about that a little bit.
We might talk about Anthropik's CEO apologizing to Trump.
We might talk about oil and the impact that that's
having on markets. But for some more fun stuff before we get into that, I mean, there is a lot
of movement in crypto. I feel like CT might be the most bearish crypto participants of all.
But we talked about what Kraken's doing, what the Fed is doing now with giving these crypto firms access of the banks.
Big investment from the parent company of the New York Stock Exchange into valuing OKEx at $25 billion.
A lot of big things happening there. And then on top of all that, you know, fun stuff, maybe a little more,
not going to change the world or regulatory stuff. But I am an advisor for Z, so I'm not
directly paid to say this, but I do have, I guess, a vested interest at some point, someday.
There is a buzz.
There's a little bit of a groundswell.
The cards, the packs went live four days ago.
You're seeing some secondary trading.
And they're not doing KOL campaigns.
Maybe we talk about KOL campaigns as well,
because I saw one that just rugged
and a little bit of back and forth
from some people in the space.
I'm not sure if I'm going to go there or not. It depends if we have a fun, lighthearted Friday or we get a little spicy
on Friday. I could go either direction. I haven't put any cayenne in my coffee for a while, nor
have I had an actual authentic colada for a bit. Might need to bust that out on a regular basis
on Friday just to just get a little
spicy gap.
So we may or may not go there.
We will see.
But on a bright note, on a positive note, and one that I don't see many of the usual
suspects, at least those that get paid to talk about things, talking about nearly enough
is these e-cards.
And not just what it is, but how they're doing it.
And one in particular, now I'm not, I don't think, you know, maybe some of you here that are just,
you know, great, great fans and friends, not just the show, but myself, maybe you've collected a
z-card. Don't do that just because I'm talking about it. I'm not anticipating like a lot of
high volume because I'm not a high volume poster. And even though it's not going to be tied to X,
I assume right now those are going to be the cards that are getting higher secondary value
or ones that are the known, I don't want to say engagement farmers, but just the high volume
Just the high volume posters and those that would drive a lot of views and impressions on the timeline.
posters and those that would drive a lot of views and impressions on the timeline.
That said, I do have some creator royalties already.
And this is what I don't think is getting near enough credit.
The fact that, you know, if you missed it yesterday, beating that royalty jump again with the Unvault team.
Shout out to Ernest and Aaron and all that are going to bring royalties back into Web3 and specifically NFTs.
into Web3 and specifically NFTs. Z, not only do they have royalty protected contract on these
creator cards, they're sharing that. So similar to Unvault, what they're doing with Divot
and allowing those NFT collections to share royalties with their collectors, Z is sharing
royalties with their, you know, the creators, those that have these cards. So just to give you an idea, I just,
it just, it's, it's awesome to wake up and, and see a little, a little stimmy. Now, granted, it's,
in my case, it's 0.001 ETH. So I don't, I'm not even sure that's enough to buy lunch today,
but you can see here, there's been eight transactions, eight sales, all common cards so
far. And on each one of those, there was royalties paid. And on each one of
those, I got 10% of the royalty. Are the eight royalties and the 0.001 ETH, is this even worth
talking about? Probably not if you're talking dollars. But the fact that I'm probably one of
the lower ones, I would guess. The fact that it exists and where this could head to, Jesus,
not to put you on the spot but
if you don't mind sharing can I ask what you know just in the first day or two how many how much in
royalties have you earned from the trading of your z cards uh GM can you hear me yeah we got you
loud and clear oh this this echo is still happening really it's not you it's this is a x spaces thing
it was happening all day yesterday too is it does it go away though because yesterday it does it's not you it's this is a x spaces thing it was happening all day yesterday
too is it does it go away though because yes it does it's so weird it just starts with an echo
and then good it just i and i i don't know if i don't think the audience can care i actually
listened to the playback yesterday to see if i could catch it nothing came through on the
on the audience side it might just be on my side but yeah it lasts for like you know 30 seconds and
then it goes away yeah really um yeah i don't i i don't know what they're doing um bro this is
this is i mean this is when i'm looking at what kaido just released oh i you know i saw they
released something but i didn't even dive in yet can you give us a tldr on that i'll go oh my god
yeah so essentially they launched their light version of their Kido Studios.
They have 16 clients onboarded so far.
Only four applications are open right now.
You have to apply.
Then on top of that, for most of these, you have to put the work out there first,
then allow them to base your post to whether or not you would fit with the client or
not some of these you gotta do the work for free and then and then they may or may not pay you
then they may or may not pay you yeah why why would the brand pay you after the fact again for
additional posts or what's the yeah yeah so i'm looking at it right now. Uh, like everything on here is defy related. There's
four that are available to from the same brand, one from Flipster, one from, uh, three and then
stand X. Uh, one of the ones, I think it's this, this three when it's $1,500 a month, minimum
poster to required, uh, duration one month, but it could extend up to 12 months but it doesn't matter
because the payment that you get paid is vested for 12 months so you don't even get the money up
front is it are you getting paid in usd or yeah yeah yeah it's usdc or you can take their token
um but you can't get it for 12 months that's pretty wild but well you get 150 basically a month
for 12 months or whatever it is um it's yeah it's and how they're doing this i would have assumed
you're gonna have to go i haven't clicked into any of these like i would assume you're gonna have to
submit your x which means they're still reading the api they're still doing something there um you know
one of the ones the requirement i've seen this on a whale post and i'm not sure if this is real i'm
looking at it right now one of the ones they want you using the product to make sure that you're not just posting about it.
Yeah, right here.
Key responsibilities.
Minimum USD 10 million referred trading volume per month.
These are one of the things you have to do to get $1,000 a month.
Is you have to have a minimum USD 10 million referred trading volume. So if your referral code doesn't bring in 10 million or more,
then you're cool.
It's fucking nuts.
I'm all for actually having people use the platform or give accelerators or
bonuses or like,
I think that makes sense when I've mentioned whether I get spicy or not
alluding to something else.
I'm just going to say it. I have no reason not to. And this isn't a,
sorry for the quick, quick pivot here, but it is topical and I'm not going to dive deep.
I'll fly over it. Maybe if others have strong feelings, we can come back to it. But my,
feelings, we can come back to it. But my, this thing here from J-Bahn, I probably, I'm probably
one of the biggest basketball fans and fantasy basketball players in Web3. Never once did I,
never did I once talk about basketball.fun, tells you all you need to know. Any screenshots,
16 KOLs, presumably paid post, probably half of them were disclosed.
And this isn't like I'm not, it's not a J-Bond conversation. It's not a comment on any of these other individuals other than J-Bond is a big basketball
And I think this is an example of crypto-native brands, not A, doing their own research,
crypto-nated brands, not A, doing their own research, not just purely relying on agencies
and or not requiring people to use their platform. And again, not taking shots at any of those
individuals. I'm glad they got paid. But I'm going to bet, I don't know. I don't know if I've
ever seen any of them talk about basketball.
Maybe Moose is a basketball fan.
The others, I don't know.
There's probably some that couldn't name three NBA players, whereas J-Bond is a big basketball fan. And I think this is just, while different, drives home the fact that a lot of crypto-native marketing brands, they just throw money at stuff because, oh, this person can get impressions. Well, who, what is your target market? Who are you
attempting to get on board? Now, if you're a DeFi protocol, it makes sense. You want people to be
using your platform before you're, you're paying them to talk about it. 10 million in volume seems
like a pretty big number. Well, that's, it's 10 million in referred volume. And it's still a lot.
I mean, it is unless you, unless you've got a whale in your pocket, that's, it's 10 million in a referred volume. It's still a lot. I mean, unless you've got a whale in your pocket that's going to take your ref link,
like, it's a lot of volume.
Yeah, there's very few people that can make that happen.
Yeah, I just, I'd like to see more of both, both the social combined with usage and, again, not to keep glazing zeet,
but it's one of the things I think they're doing well. You know, when they had their
prior campaigns, they were doing this. They were one of the first to incorporate your on-chain
assets and your on-chain usage to leaderboards. If you were using the product, if you held assets,
you were getting multipliers and you had a better chance of moving up the leaderboard than if you were just talking about it. I still believe
InfoFi, something in this realm, obviously not exactly as InfoFi was. I think there's a big
opportunity here. And I think there's something that can break out of Web3. I like how Z's moving.
There's no guarantee it's going to be them. But this idea of alignment,
we talk about alignment amongst NFT brands and their collector base. I think also when you talk
about if you're paying people to talk about your product, it's going to like people here aren't dumb. Like they're going to, we know who, if someone's just copy pasting, you know, a post from a brand or an agency, it's pretty obvious.
We also know if someone doesn't know what they're talking about or they're not using the product, pretty obvious.
If you really wanted to even do one layer of research, you could see if they're using stuff or not.
And I don't know.
It just, it seems so
obvious but so here's the thing for me if everybody in this room i'm scrolling down this room i'm
looking everybody in this room and some people maybe even be new they this may be their first
time in captain space fucking 1111 fucking hands down that's awesome but the the whole point in these posts is a lot of it's not
for us seasoned people yeah we'll see it we might check it out but it's for newer people it's for
everybody in this room at one point has engaged with a post like this years and years ago yep
years ago you engaged with a post like this oh my god this looks so cool you know
you might have watched michael jordan played you know whatever half the people in here probably
aren't even old enough to know michael jordan is they just heard the name he thinks it's a nascar
team yeah i know they think he's famous yeah for for helping nascar but um that's the the point is
in even we've heard ponds talk about it on this space, that some teams want this type of marketing.
Some teams want to see referred volume.
It depends what they're looking for and how the distribution should flow out.
And that's going to be the interesting thing.
We don't know anything about how Zete's going to do their next phase.
Obviously, X is going to play into it, you know,
but they're not allowed to scrape the API.
If you're caught using some backdoor API aggregator
or an AI bot that's doing it, whatever,
if Nikita, you think Nikita and them aren't going to be watching all these brands?
I mean, the teams have had calls with X,
so they have to be really careful with what they do.
Yep. And this right here is just, I mean, this right here,
I, it would take me five minutes,
but I could go look and determine which marketing firm.
This was is probably resurgence or AP collective.
I think it's AP collective because that's i think that's where
i think that's where um where whale is signed at that's his agent so um i'm pretty sure that's who
put this out there so then it then it reflects bad on these agencies as well so well you know i i do
think zeets kind of go in the right way we just
have to see more from them i think i think it's even double whammy reflects even worse when
you get these undisclosed paid shills yeah then the project ends up rugging or it's just a
scam well i don't think they've just not delivered anything yet yeah i haven't been following along
and i i'm a fantasy fan i've not gotten into uh nba dfs or nba fantasy for a while but um
surprising cmp on this oh i didn't i didn't even see p on that yeah p.o's at the top um
yeah and and the thing is is when you see all these, like this guys, a, a brand will
So say I have cheese brand and I go to one of these other marketing companies, like
AP collective.
And I'm like, here's our product.
And then this is the pitch sheet.
And then they send it out to all their creators.
And there's like four examples of what the marketing team for that team want your post to look like.
They tell you at the top of it, write this, you know, have your creators make posts similar to this.
But nine times out of 10, most of these people just throw it in chat GPT.
They say, rewrite this in my tone if that if that literally
just copy paste it that's yeah they just i please don't think it's like i'm not hating on like hey
i've taken i've taken i don't often do posts i've done a few um we work with reach we i don't know
if we've ever actually done a deal with ap collective i mean i'm in group chats with those
guys we've talked about some stuff that we've passed on some deals i i don't know know if we've ever actually done a deal with AP Collective. I mean, I'm in group chats with those guys. We've talked about some stuff.
I think we've passed on some deals.
I don't know as if we've ever actually entered a paid engagement with them.
I'm not hating on it.
It's just, it's more, it's not on the agencies.
It's not on the creators.
It's back on the brands.
It's, and this is where I thought we were getting to with InfoFi or I thought, what
I thought InfoFi was missing and what I thought
Zeep might be able to help with is actual real campaigns, not just a leaderboard, not just scraping
X for what people are talking about and throwing that on, like build an actual campaign. Like,
what are you talking about? Who are you trying to reach? Who's your target demographic? Is it just
5,000 participants of crypto Twitter? Or do
you want to actually onboard some real basketball fans that might be interested in checking out a
new platform that happens to be on chain? Maybe you want to go target the NBA Top Shot community
that still exists. Like it just so often, and I'm not fighting basketball out fun either. I don't
know who they are, but it didn't catch my attention probably
because everything I saw on it
seemed just like a paid chill billboard
and not really any thought, no real campaign.
It just, it's, it's, I like subconsciously
I mute that stuff.
Not, I'm not saying I mute the individuals.
I just don't read.
As soon as I see all this is just a,
this is just a paid post. My brain just flies right past it. I don't engage. I don't click through. And so I don't
think these brands understand that oftentimes when they just pray and spray like this without any
real thought out campaign, not only is it not delivering their desired results, oftentimes
it's turning people off. Like it's having the negative intended consequences.
It doesn't, again, I don't want to keep ranting on
how more crypto native, more Web3 teams
should invest in leadership, not just interns,
but actually leadership in the marketings
and communications arena.
Like shout out to OpenSea,
not just using my friend,
but for investing in someone like Steve,
a talent like Steve,
who's not just been deep in the crypto trenches
and written a book,
The Everything Token, by the way,
that's linked in the show notes
if you haven't checked it out yet.
Go get a copy on Amazon this weekend.
Especially those of you that are doing 75 hard,
that'd be a good one to do your 10 pages a day on.
I know Joey has his hand up, and then we can kind of close back out on Zeke,
because I know you were talking about that originally.
Joey, GM, get in here.
Yeah, GM, guys.
So as somebody who, you know, works for a company in this space,
we get approached probably on the
daily, whether it's discord tickets getting opened or our XDM with like all these agencies.
And some of them, you know, we've heard of, and some are, you know, you know, random whatever's
and countries just trying to like, you know, sell you, you know, impressions.
But back in 2022, I actually had my own agency and I had like 25 people that worked with me and we had developers and we had, you know, alpha callers when it mattered and marketing
And the biggest thing that I see is lazy.
It's just lazy right like if you're gonna hire an agency
and you're gonna work with kols you can't be lazy with the directives because if you're lazy with
the directives then everything's gonna look like copy pasta and you're gonna get found out and
they're gonna be like oh none of these people really care about this platform they all just got paid so like something that we used to do
whenever we worked with with um with a project was we like lived in that project we all joined
the discord we engaged in the community we tried to like use like use whatever it was they were trying to sell and understand their roadmap.
And like, we didn't just, they didn't, it wasn't just like, oh, tell us what you want us all to
post. And at what time you want us to post it. And we're all just going to post it. Right.
And I think that's, what's important is if you, because it's not like paid influencers is only
in this space. I mean, why does Kia pay Shaquille O'Neal to be in a car commercial, right? Why does,
why did Michael Jordan revolutionize advertising with Gatorade and Nike and right. So like the
idea of paying a quote unquote influencer to push your product is not, it's not exclusive
to this space. It's just in this space, it's typically done very lazily.
Like there's just no real creativeness.
No, you nailed it.
It is lazy.
I think at the end of the day,
a lot of it is just lazy.
Maybe it's a combination of laziness and a combination of like real background
and experience in traditional marketing.
And just because something worked in Web2
doesn't mean we need to steal one of Steve's lines.
We don't need to throw the baby out with the bathwater.
A lot of that stuff is work because it works.
And we can add to it here, expand upon, enhance,
not just throw spaghetti at the wall.
Yeah, I agree, Joe.
It's a great take.
Like with me, the way I did so well on Zeet was because one of the biggest ones I did was Myriad Markets.
And I didn't do a lot of video content.
I wasn't streaming really big.
This was early last year is when I started doing this.
And I'm like, everybody's just putting out regular posts.
And I'm like, you know what?
I'm going to do a Myriad Minute every day.
It's less than one minute video of the latest things happening on myriad
I did it for like almost over 70 days straight.
it allowed me to break away from everybody else.
And I was earning four to 500 seats a day on this,
on this one campaign and everybody else was earning just very minimal
because they were putting in minimal work.
So it's like,
if you want it bad enough,
you got to figure out a way to go get it
in a way that other creators aren't.
And brands are paying a lot of fucking money.
Sorry for my language,
but they're paying a lot of money, man.
So you got to put in the work
and support the brands that are feeding you. Yeah you yeah i mean it's also to your point we used to talk about this when kaido was
when uh kaido was basically like the only one on the street and it was like none of this feels
organic none of this feels authentic like it it just feels like people are you know throwing
spaghetti on the wall to see what hits so they can earn
their kaito points and like and that's that's part of if you're going to hire an agency you're
going to hire kols it a requirement should be come in our discord and engage with our community if
that's what you have right or right go utilize our platform or our project even if that means
you have to like comp them access if if it's something that's paid,
You give them free access,
it needs to feel like these people are actually supporting this versus just
some copy pasta post for impressions.
Well said.
I think I might've inadvertently discovered a bat signal.
I say throw out the baby with the bathwater once and magically Steve appears in the audience.
I miss Steve's quips like that.
You know, hearing that just brought back so many memories.
It was either the throw out the baby with the bathwater reference or I don't know how we got on this topic.
But I see Dort in the YouTube chat saying you're still wearing his shoes and he hasn't touched the court in 23 years.
That's why he's the GOAT.
Diablito agrees, says never wear his shoes,
but he is the GOAT,
and then follows it up with,
who is this deep guy?
So it was either throw out the baby with the bathwater
or the Michael Jordan GOAT conversation.
One of those two is a bat signal.
We may never know,
but one of those two,
I'm pretty certain,
even if not consciously,
like the universe works
in wild ways sometimes.
And we were tugging on
all of Steve's heartstrings there
because as we all know,
if you're new here
and you haven't,
if you weren't around
when Steve was co-host
for a thousand of these episodes,
biggest Michael Jordan fan
on the planet,
he would actually probably
physically fight someone
who tries to say that LeBron is the goat over MJ.
Also, real quick, true crypto king reminded me
we've got average hourly earnings,
core retail sales, non-farm changes,
retail sales, unemployment rates dropping now.
I will be keeping an eye on the market.
I want to get into another trade.
I printed on the ETH long earlier this week, and I'm itching to go back. I'm just attempting to be patient.
And I'm probably not going to do anything until we get this print and see if we get the 10 a.m.
dump. I know it's probably not wise just to fire along into the weekend, but that's where I'm at
right now. Mayhem is trying to drop me off the ledge, but I think I made trade of the day. I might be opening up another ETH or Bitcoin, maybe both
longs here mid-late morning, and then let them run through the weekend and close them on Monday.
I'm not usually a, I usually don't set stop losses, but Mayhem talked me into it this past week,
losses, but Mayhem talked me into it, uh, this past week and it actually, it fared well. I think
my stop loss was at 2090. And I, if I, so I was a little upset because it touched it and then it
bounced, but I had not had the stop loss. I, I would, I'd still be in the, in the positive. I
think I opened that right around 2k, but, um, yeah, shout out to Mayhem for a few extra shillings
in the perp account because of, um, uh account because of, we got the Epic coming back.
The gap isn't wide. You might not remember when Jordan came back to play for the Wizards. Not
great MJ. You know what MJ did though? MJ played 82 games that season, which people like to compare,
like to make the, you know, he was playing against plumbers and garbage men. At least he played
against starters. I don't know if you've
seen it like the the bottom a third of the league the bottom 10 teams then maybe one of them won
yesterday but in going into yesterday they had combined they were on like a collectively like a
46 game uh losing streak they're just they're not even they're not even attempting to win games
the the you know throwing games and sitting your players
to get the, you know, move up the draft board,
it's gotten a little out of control.
I don't know what the answer is. I don't know what the fix is.
And now the player they're all chasing
might not even come out.
Hilarious.
AJ DeBansta, whatever it is, it's hilarious.
Did the NBA try to
I thought I remember a couple years ago the nba
announced like an anti-tanking rule or something didn't they do that
yeah they'll find i mean it's still in effect they'll find people but i don't know how they
i don't know how it's obviously not working how do you determine that yeah i mean yeah
if you're just bad like how do you determine who yeah yeah I mean yeah if you're just bad like
how do you determine who's just bad versus who's actually tanking right like I mean
it took how long for them to realize people were were uh were what's it called in bed with sports
books right like how many years it take them to figure that out now we got to figure out if you're
actually just a bad team or tanking. I will say this,
and then we got to get out of court open.
We've extended it way too long.
We've interweaved some real crypto topics in between,
but last comment on NBA.
And I guess this NBA conversation
did get spurred on by a crypto product
that is in the basketball street.
So we're not breaking all the rules this morning.
It's a Friday though, and it's a show 11, 11. So we're allowed. Um,
if, if LeBron goes back to Cleveland next year, and if he wins another title in Cleveland,
I know two big ifs, but if that happens, he deserves to be in the same sentence as Jordan.
If he goes back to Cleveland, wins another title in Cleveland,
he deserves to be mentioned in the same sentence as MJ. If he goes back to Cleveland, wins another title in Cleveland, he deserves to be mentioned in the same sentence as MJ. Jesus, go ahead.
Yeah. The sentence would be LeBron James can't carry Michael Jordan's water bottle.
That would be the sentence. Just putting it out there. Yeah. No, I know you were getting close to that. We originally started with Z. Just a little bit of alpha.
I know I had Scotty on MySpace last week.
We did a stream when the market went live.
Scotty came on, gave some really good alpha,
about a few things that could possibly happen with some of the cards.
You'll see some brand cards.
You'll see Z. you'll see bearish
uh i he hinted at kind of maybe a plague he hinted at good vibes club um i think we're
gonna see some brands some actual nft brands come in do you have a take like i i mean if you know
don't share i don't know do you have any ideas how that like what is it going to be how is it
going to play out when they launch their first campaign with a
when they launched their first tournament?
do we know yet?
Have we gotten any inkling of what it even might be?
I don't think it's going to be no application process.
Like fuck,
like Kydo's doing.
You don't think you have to stake your,
your USDC for 12 months to get paid?
Scotty said that you need,
you can be in as many tournaments,
you can have as many cards,
you can be the leader of your squad,
but you can be in so many other squads,
you can compete.
So, honestly, I do not know.
A lot of it we talk about is all speculation,
but he said don't sleep on some of the brand cards you see um we
don't know we no xp was given last week it's not 100 confirmed but from what scotty said it usually
takes the abstract team a week or two like to give you the xp for the volume every transaction
you do on zeet or every move you you make on Z with your cards makes you sign
a transaction.
And he said that was on purpose.
I love it.
Because Saigar said, if you want more XP, you need to bring your assets on chain.
You need on chain transactions.
So that could end up happening.
And then the creator royalties, super dope.
I'm almost up to like 0.04 ETH.
That's awesome.
Yeah, my legendary sold for 0.31 ETH yesterday.
Yeah, I was pretty excited about that.
Think about that.
I know it's early and you're not supposed to annualize this stuff after a few days,
but that's 80 bucks plus
it's more than $80. Yeah. And I didn't do anything like, like they're, they're really,
I'm really excited to see how this plays out. I love how they're building it. And I'm rooting for
far beyond any sort of, any sort of bag bias or any, any personal financial gain. Like they're
experimenting, they're doing new things, not not just on chain but at this intersection of on chain ai crypto twitter like it's just i i'm
really excited to see how this plays out and 17 other distribution channels i i should be i should
be i should be actually this is one of these these scenarios where even though I am an advisor, I have some cards.
This is going to be one of those scenarios where I'm pumping bags that I don't hold nearly enough of.
I should go out and what I should be doing is sweeping some of these cards and building a better squad so that I'm in a better position.
If it does take off, do your research.
There's no guarantees.
All these cards could be zero next week.
But I do want to put one thing out there.
And there are,
there are people that are getting heavy into this,
but they're not talking about it.
They're not talking about it on their timeline.
They're not talking about,
they're not talking about what they are, about what they are buying,
but some of the biggest names, like Whale,
Whale's one of the top holders of creator cards.
He has over 100 cards.
Bandit, over 100 cards.
A lot of these people that aren't talking about it,
but they are actively buying.
Somebody built a website.
There's a joke here about because no one's paid them to talk about it yet,
but I'm just going to leave that.
I'm going to let that one be there.
So that's like right now, man, you can get a card as cheap as $1.33.
Is this person going to do well?
I don't know.
But I would advise you just, you you know take a look at it see
what you think um and uh you know a dollar 33 is not a bad investment and yes you you can go you
these cards you can buy them on on um openc they also have a like a marketplace in on on, Z.ai.
There's a lot here.
Maybe nothing comes of this,
but there's a lot here.
Sometimes things like this where they're a little more complex,
we don't know all the details.
I don't know, could be one of those slow cooks.
You see people accumulating
before they're talking about it.
I was just joking. It's not just because they're not getting paid. Like, Hey,
sometimes they want, they want to get a position built before they start talking about it
and to get front run by, by others. Um, but yeah, some of these looking at, um, you know,
congrats on the, the, the big, the big legendary sale. That's awesome. Um, and before I forget,
we'll go, we'll get Joey back in here and then we'll get, uh, Jesus with. And before I forget, we'll get Joey back in here, and then we'll get Jesus with a response.
Before I forget, I did want to give some love.
I know we were talking about Scotty.
I also want to give some love to Tolly.
Tolly, yeah.
Who has, on the topic of marketplace, unrelated to Z, but one of the teams, one of the devs over there, has an AI skills marketplace, Souls.
I'm trying to find the...
I think it's...
The links here, I'll pin it up top.
Yeah, it's souls.
Oh, I was actually going to mention it.
Which is why I have my hand.
It's souls.
Shit, now I can't remember.
I'm sorry.
It's all right.
Have you used it?
Souls.zip is the actual
Twitter handle as well. And he says, 800 people Is the, is the actual, um, Twitter handle as well.
And he says 800 people on the wait list of souls, including a team from a 16 Z and more,
uh, skipping the wait list.
It's open to everyone.
Uh, I think the free, I know the $1 early bird pricing has been turned off, but most
things are still free and new items added daily.
still free and new items added daily. I am genuinely really curious to see how this AI,
not just agents, but skills, how I could see a future where skills and agents are basically
free. It's commoditized and you can just go get whatever you want for free. I can also see a world where some of this stuff is thousands, if not tens of thousands of dollars. Part of it's
going to be like, what are they doing? How productive is it? Is it a revenue-generating
asset or skill? And if someone tells you they know exactly how it's going to play out,
they're probably just farming engagement or they're making something up. None of us know. I could see either scenario playing out where these become
basically free or very low cost or at $9.99 a month, you get access to all these skills,
or you could see it all the way to the complete other end of the spectrum
in the best skills or the best agents become so much better than the others
that they become extremely high priced.
I tend to think it's probably going to be more
the free or freemium type model
where they're very low cost
because I think that AI is just going to continue
to advance and evolve at such an exponential clip.
It'd be hard to charge such premiums.
But Jeremy, thanks for sharing that.
I'll hand it back.
Let's go Joey.
And then we'll get cheeses back in here.
I see Diego coming up as well.
Man, all the legends on stage for Friday.
Uh, Jeremy, Jeremy just shared, uh, this Dota, uh, open source paperclip.
I will, uh, I'll pull that up and we'll talk about that here in a minute, but Joey, go
So I have to have to uh get ready
head to the gym um and suffer through 26.2 but i wanted before i left since uh it's show 11 11
i wanted to offer you to pick do whatever you want get 11 people pick 11 names and then put
them in a and then you know do like a wheel of names for those 11 people.
And I'll give away a, uh, I'll give away a $50 claw hole.
So, uh, if you just want to make them, make them subscribe to the YouTube or comment,
whatever, pick 11 people put
them in a wheel of names and one person can get a 50 claw pull in honor of show 11 11 awesome and
what do you need for that you just want me to dm you there no i'll just you just uh just tell me
who it is and i'll send you a code and then you can pass the code on to them okay awesome yeah um
i appreciate you doing that greatly appreciate the generosity and support as always.
Shout out to BZ and all that they do for us.
It's like one of the non-paid engagements.
We've worked with them in the past,
but I feel that they've done as much,
if not more than most of our other sponsors,
and they don't even have to.
It's just Joey and Andrea and team over there
are very just great people and continue to get back to the space at large, but in particular, our Coffee with Captain community.
Yeah, BZ is killing it.
Love to see it.
Love to see the good people win.
Jesus, go ahead and get back in here with a response, and then we'll bring Diego into the conversation.
What am I responding to?
I don't even know.
Yeah, maybe not, I guess.
Um, except Joey's goaded for that.
That's pretty good.
Well, we were, we were talking like, uh, we were talking to AI agent skills.
We were talking, um, I just know totally, uh, from my experience with the bearish team,
they, they, you know, they often come on my spaces, uh uh just to even just come on and shoot the shit
and that i think is pretty dope um you know because there's no agenda i've never been paid
by them and uh neither or my co-hosts were just fans of their their work ethic and and how they
run in the space and how they operate and scotty's uh you know scotty is if you guys knew the amount
of stuff that scotty has worked on not just on abstract but the broader web 3 space like the guy
would get way more respect than he does and i i think he's um i think he's awesome um and you know
yeah so i anything totally puts out there I'm not really deep in AI yet.
But I would imagine, you know, Tully's pretty smart.
So, yeah, nothing but shout out for those guys.
Second that.
And, yeah, love to see it.
Also, part of the reason I remain bullish on Zete is the team.
And, yeah, they just, they haven't left.
They continue to shift.
They continue to double down on this space
and the people here.
And I am happy to support builders as such.
Diego, GM, what brought you up this morning, sir?
Thanks for bringing me up.
My pleasure.
Just to say hi, to ask Jesus if he knows something about shit.
Does Scotty mention it about if we can burn cards to make better cards like rare or legendary good call yeah so when he was on the stage
we were asking scotty is great because scotty leaks so much alpha um but when we started talking
about the burning and because there's still two card versions we haven't seen which is epic and
mythic and it's and it's in between and
obviously mythic being the best so i had brought up like a question about is there going to be
potential burning and whatnot and he started to kind of talk about it and then uh implied that
something had already been said about it then we told told him, no, it hadn't. And he just left the stage.
So he didn't even finish the conversation.
My theory is, yes, you're going to have to burn
maybe some commons and a rare
or maybe five commons to get a epic.
And then maybe you have to burn a rare and a legendary
to get a mythic
uh card who knows but i do think i mean cap you got to think right now i only have 82 cards that
are minted completely that's wild and there's 250 for each creator that's out there so you know when you go um when you go and look at the numbers it's i'm less than
half the supply or a little bit over half the supply uh there's 30,222 cards right now
and if you don't think and this is for people listening if you don't think people are interested or excited about what's coming out of 30,222 nfts or creator cards there's only 769 listed and then if you take out all the you
know there's still some packs that haven't been done and um whatnot but i i really think this is
gonna do really well um and as we said maybe maybe not, maybe, maybe nothing comes of it.
Maybe it's, maybe there is something here that you can be early and you don't have to go back and rush by legendaries.
Like there's been enough dots connected there.
You probably can, you know, think about that.
If there is a scenario where, oh, you burn five commons to get a rare, like maybe look for low-cost opportunities to collect some commons, maybe even some rares,
and get ahead.
A little bit of speculation is not the worst.
Have some fun with it.
And as always, do your own research.
CryptoKing, thank you very much for the big Pingo tip as well as Tukas for the God tip over there.
Greatly appreciated.
TrueCryptoKing, can you let me know?
This is my first time seeing Amigo.
He says, can we talk about Amigo a little bit?
Just set up my account yesterday and tried to get some keys.
I don't know what.
Go ahead, Diego.
Sorry to interrupt you.
And the last question about the branded cards. I saw the bearish and shit.
Sorry for my pronunciation. about the branded cards. I saw the bearish and shit. Shit, sorry.
For my pronunciation.
I see that we have on the audience
swivel jab from Klinosaurus.
Would be great to know if Klinosaurus
will have a card on shit.
Thank you, Kat.
Yeah, pronouncing Z is my favorite thing.
That's so great.
Because most people say.
I love it.
A lot of other people say yeet.
Like even teacher Katie was on my stage.
She said yeet a few times.
But yeah, we don't know.
All he knows.
All I know is he mentioned Good Vibes Club.
He mentioned Plague.
He mentioned the Bears and Z.
We don't know who's
coming kalinosaurus did a uh they did a tournament in the in the first iteration of zeet will they
come back and do something else i mean who knows uh cab cab would know but they're not going to
tell us not until it's ready to go i I'm looking forward to following along.
I am having some fun with it,
and I like how they are moving early on.
I alluded to this thing Jeremy had shared.
What a time to be alive.
I'm bookmarking this.
We'll be coming back later to dive a little deeper.
It's post here from Dota.
I think I pinned this up top.
If not, I will here in a second.
Yeah, it's up top.
We just open source Paperclip, the orchestration layer for zero human companies.
It's everything you need to run an autonomous business, org charts, goal alignment, task
ownership, budgets, agent templates.
Just incredible. It goes on,
there's a video there, but he goes on to say, paperclip is right for you if you have 20 clawed
code tabs open and can't remember who's doing what, use different type of agents, codecs,
open claw, want agents working for you 24 seven with auditable work slash costs, want an autonomous
business, not manage pull requests. If it feels like you're falling behind because
everyone else is managing teams of agents and you're still managing shell scripts,
Paperclip is what you need. Bring your own agent, goal alignment, heartbeats, cost control,
multi-company, ticket systems, mobile ready, org chart, governance.
What makes Paperclip special? Agent tasks are atomically coordinated. Automatic context points
towards a goal so your agents always know why.
Any agent, any runtime, coordination, not lock in. It's high taste. It feels good to use. You
should stop reading and try it. Do your own research. I have not done any. I'm just seeing
this for the first time, courtesy of Jeremy. Jeremy, thanks for sharing. I see Von Fronten
coming in the war room. Von Fronten, this sounds right up your alley.
And I did see there's someone else that was just recently featured by the Bankless Boys
who has a zero human company.
We're going to see it.
I think maybe not this year.
Well, I'll say within the next 12 to 18 months,
I'm pretty sure we'll have a zero employee,
a zero human unicorn.
One of these solely nothing but agents, organizations will scale to a billion-dollar
valuation. I'm pretty sure we see it. And then once it happens, I think those floodgates open,
and we see more people building that way. I am...
we see more people building that way.
five of me this morning,
I'm just going to say it.
I think I'm going to do a small raise.
I've been talking about an experiential retail company
I've met with going on probably over a year now.
Met with them briefly last night, yesterday,
and I'm going to help them with some docs
that they are in need of to help scale.
They could use a little bit of capital, not a lot.
I mean, we're talking like you could probably do it for less than seven figures.
I guess someone else in my DMs yesterday that's doing kind of like a, not exactly,
but like Tokenworks did there, how Adam did the initial raise for that
and all those NFT holders got a piece of the future
revenue stream. And because of the success of TokenWorks and Punkster have all been made whole
and then some, I'd like someone to build that for off-chain businesses in a legally,
in a compliant way. Maybe the right answer right now is just do an echo round or something. But long story short,
one of my main motivators, one of my main drivers of wanting to move forward with this and
help this group scale is, yeah, we use AI for Coffee with Captain, but I want to
leverage it more. I want to help scale a business leaning on these tools
and resources because it's just, it's, it's fun. It's going, and it's, it, we're all so, so, so
early. I'll see if I can find it. I think I actually did like the post. So I should be able
to go get it. Someone was at a conference, a medical conference, some of the top doctors and surgeons on the planet
and talking about how maybe 20% of them
know as much about AI as you do
if you're listening to this show today.
And how much demand it is for these people to, um, that need help.
They don't know what they're doing. They haven't. Here we go. Found it.
Oops. Wrong button. I'm going to pull it up here in a second. Appreciate your patience.
Uh, I just, I don't want to misspeak. And this Chris Corner, who I've not connected with,
don't follow, he just popped on my feed here, says owns eight RV parks with investors plus
seven companies, is in DFW, get my favorite 260 biz ideas for 2026 with tactical launch pans
included. So again, first time connecting with or seeing this person.
But he says, I just spent a week at a Mexican resort.
This also could be made up.
So take it for what the grain of salt.
Maybe it's made up.
I believe at least like the concept, the theoretically makes sense.
He goes on to say, so maybe it's a little made up.
Maybe it's embellished.
Maybe it's entirely made up.
I think it checks out just logically and rationally talking to others.
Spent a week with 150 doctors and wow.
I can say with 100% certainty that I know what the biggest wealth opportunity creation of
That's probably an exaggeration.
Let's at least go 99% certainty, buddy.
Anyways, I digress.
These guys are the best of the best, each making 500K to 5 million a year. I gave a keynote about
how to implement AI into their practices, and what I learned kind of shocked me. I asked how
many of them knew what an AI rapper was. Maybe two hands half-heartedly went up. Vibe coding,
crickets, replet, nope. How many have ever uploaded a file to AI? Maybe 20% of the people.
I couldn't even get through my two- hour talk because they were asking so many questions. These guys were almost all 35 to
55 year old wealthy Americans on the cutting edge of their field. I don't care what size the
business is, small, medium, large, it doesn't matter. Business owners are desperate for someone
to do three things for them with AI, solve problems, save money and make money. So it's
the opportunity to get in front of them for free any way you can in your local area, preferably,
or any freaking holiday in conference room
for an hour if you have to.
Promote the event with Facebook ads,
event integration.
Have your buddy sign them up for a demo
in the back of the room.
You will have five figures a monthly reoccurring revenue
in a matter of days, not months.
If you don't do an event,
if you don't, you don't have to do an event,
but the close rate is stupid.
I know at least 10 people doing this today.
X is a bubble.
The stuff you see here about open call AI wrappers, cloud capabilities, et cetera, is
all two, three years ahead of the general public.
So even if 90% of this post was made up and he does have a video that makes it seem authentic
and legitimate, and again, he's got $150,000 on here.
He's obviously plugging his own newsletter and some other stuff.
plugging his own newsletter and some other stuff. I do think this is a fair statement
that probably two, three years ahead of the general public here. I say this having talked to
a good friend of mine, childhood friend, who's an executive and he's a developer. He's been
programming coding for years. He's now moved more into like a management, more administrative role in doing contracts and SOWs,
but very well-versed as an engineer.
And he gave himself like a three out of 10 on AI.
He's just not dove into it yet.
And I think there's a lot of people like that
who really smart, really intelligent, really
successful people.
We think, oh my gosh, everyone's running their, you know, open claw.
Everyone's running, you know, clawed co-work.
Most are not.
Very, very few people are.
We're in a bubble here.
And I do think there is a real opportunity to be early to this massive market. And you don't have to do this,
what was proposed here. But I do think, like I was just referring to the one
startup business that I'm going to help. This is some of the stuff I've just been,
like even as something as simple as helping them not just with their SEO, but now I can't
remember what the acronym is, but basically be identified by these LLMs and level up their
organic SEO and why can't I think of the name of it? GAO, I don't know what they're calling it.
Anyways, it doesn't matter.
Whatever the SEO equivalent in these LLMs,
there's a lot of, from small, medium businesses
to your mom and pops, to doctors and dentists, attorneys,
like it's not going to eliminate every job on the planet.
It's going to create a lot of opportunities. And if you're here, there's a good chance that you could spend a weekend learning
this stuff. And then you have a desirable, desirable skill, desirable skill that many
of these small bidding businesses are looking for that need help for. Von Fronten adds,
I run Vonga as a one-person company.
As of now, the only place I think I may have to hire a human
is for account management if and when we scale
and my human customers need humans to work with.
I have another one that I'm designing at the moment
that is a zero-person company productizing
some of the things I've built for myself.
The goal there is it will be fully autonomous,
plan to build it out on a sprint next weekend.
We'll see how that goes.
I have a friend who's Harvard educated
in a high paying job, barely uses Copilot.
We are early.
And this is like when I,
without like doxing people
or outing exactly who they are,
I'm not kidding,
like extremely successful,
wealthy individuals by almost every benchmark.
And they most are just using ChatGPT as a glorified Google.
It's wild. It's wild. And so if you're thinking, oh, I'm late to AI, you're not. That's all I'm
saying. You're not. We are very, very early, and some of the biggest brains in the world are, yes,
they're aware of AI. Do they have probably chat GPT or Claude downloaded on their
phone? Yeah, but they're not building with it yet. It's just, they're just using it for a better
version of Google. And that is maybe, maybe scratching 1% of its potential. All that said,
we do have a lot more to get into today. We got to talk about the fight of the penguin
that the people demand that. We also, a a little little quick market fly over um bitcoin
let me double check make sure things didn't move since we got the
it looks like down a little bit um why is this doing this no i don't want to log in there cancel
what in the world? I don't know if there's a, oh yeah, there is a
what in the world
promo update. Nevermind. I'm fixed now. Took me a minute. Looking at majors anyways, we have pulled
back. Maybe we get ready for a weekend pump. I don't know. But fear and greed back down to 23 after hitting almost 30. We're
teetering on extreme fear again. The last 24 hours, Bitcoin down to 69, 199. ETH down to
2020. Both those are down about a little over 4.5% on the day. B&B down, XRP down, Solana down 5%, almost 6%. Doge down, Hyperliquid down, not really any winners, at least on the last 24 hours,
pretty much everything down.
And I guess like on a, well, I'm trying to think where we go with the whole how deep we go into this stuff in the
middle east i'll just say this china uh oil now is up 60 days ago 60 dollars in oil or 60 dollars
a barrel for oil in china it's now up over 100 i just saw china is paying 200 000 per day just to ship oil from the Middle East. And I am not a war expert. I'm not a geopolitical
expert. But I did see a post and assuming it's real, may not be real, but assuming it's real,
it seems like things might be why I know that they're saying, oh, this is going to go last till
September. Maybe it lasts till September. Maybe it lasts 10 years. If this is real, it seems like
a positive trend. This is the chart you're looking at here is Iran ballistic missile launch
trajectory, confirmed launches starting on February 28th, 350 on day one, then 175, then 120, then 50,
then 30, then 17, 9, 5, 3, 1, 2. Today is March 6th. So they're projecting 9 today,
and basically by the 11th at this run rate, at this trend, would be effectively zero launches
a day. Now, who knows?
Maybe they're sitting on a surplus of missiles they haven't fired yet.
But so far, it seems to be, and I'm not saying they've ran out of missiles,
but they're just launching far less than they did at start.
I don't know. Seems to be maybe. It could be over sooner than some are believing you'd like to be.
Polymarket does have the odds of crude oil being over $90 at 56%.
44% the odds over $100 this month.
20% of the global oil supply does come through the
Strait of Hormuz. Hormuz, am I saying that right? And any disruptions obviously are going to impact
prices globally. China, they get 70 to 80% of their oil through that route, hence why they're
already over $100 per barrel. And this Bloomberg guy, Mike McGlone from Bloomberg, warned Iran-driven oil volatility
could derail the Bitcoin price rally.
Inflation fears, risk-off, crypto pressures.
I think it's actually bullish that Bitcoin's still holding this 69, 70K mark, despite all
this macro stuff happening.
Again, I don't really know other than things are likely continue to be volatile for a while. And so be safe out there.
Don't overextend yourself. Don't put any money into anything you can't afford to lose,
especially if you are going to be, uh, trading with leverage. Uh, don't walk away from your,
don't walk away from your computer screen and probably dial it down a notch instead
of firing up something like 40 to 100x, maybe start at like three to five and see how things
play out. But that said, enough of crazy stuff happening in the world. Let's talk about crazy stuff happening in the world of
penguins. And no, Teacher Katie, I was not following Allie, but I am now before I move
on to the penguin or give some love here to Allie. Kay Miller, such an interesting read about OpenClaw. It says, wow, went to, actually, I think I might have liked this.
Yeah, I sure did.
So thank you for tagging that.
I wasn't familiar with Allie, but now I am.
It says, wow, went to the sold out OpenClaw meetup in New York City last night.
Let me tell you what I learned.
Not a single person thinks that their setup is 100% secure.
One OpenClaw expert said and reviewed setups from cybersecurity experts and laughed. His statement was, if you're not okay with all your data being
leaked onto the internet, you shouldn't use it. It's a black and white decision. Pretty much
everyone is setting up multiple agents, all with their own names, jobs, and personalities. Nearly
everyone used him or her to refer to their claws, even if they had robot-leaning names. One speaker suggested to
think of them as pets, not cattle. Interesting. One guy, former finance, built a whole stack
trading platform and made $300 his first day, brought in a ton of personal expertise.
Example, skipping the first 15 minutes of market opening and thought
the build would be much worse without his years of experience in finance.
Pete, Peter, the founder of OpenClaw, is basically a god to everyone in that room. Also, the room had
2021 crypto energy. I don't know if that's good or bad. I don't either. Token usage, still a
problem. This is also not spoken about enough. Spoke to one person who spent 1k to 2k on OpenAI
plans, very token optimized, said going through about a billion tokens per day
across all his claws. There's a chance of misremembering. It could be actually a billion
a week, but pretty sure it was daily. People are excited, are very excited for more proactive AI,
AI that prompts you as opposed to the other way around. One guy said he receives a message in
Discord, doesn't know whether it's from a human or an AI, doesn't care about distinguishing between
the two, and replies in the same way regardless. I asked if people are happy. They said they're joyful and stressed at the same time.
I asked people if they feel they have agency. They said they feel fully in control,
completely out of control at the same time. Would love to see more women at these events.
The fake promises of AI democratization feel especially painful in a room that's out of
balance with even the standard tech ratio. I think standard is about 20 to 35%.
This is maybe 5%. 12, I asked if it changed people's daily habits and schedules. Everyone
said their sleep has gotten worse since harnesses came out, but about half wondered if it was
something else in their life, state, or our world. General consensus is that AI agents are not
reliable enough yet on their own and lie often, like telling you
they finished a task when they didn't. Solutions include secondary agents to check on the first,
human checking, or requiring more standardized info from the agent. If it's a bug they're fixing,
make them reference an issue number. Hackathon winner Neuroscience PhD presented his build,
a lab management dashboard with data analysis and ordering, had never coded or built anything a few months ago.
Everyone agreed prompting is dead.
Disagreement on what replaces it,
context engineering, harness engineering,
goal-based inputs.
People love having AI interview them for big builds
and delegating part of the product research to AI.
Only one person talked about coming to AI
with a full laid out plan and just asking the AI to execute.
AI-led interviews is welcomed in preferred interaction mode.
Watching AI agents interact with each other
was the highlight for many of the attendees.
One AI posted in Slack saying it ran out of tokens.
Another AI replied,
telling it to take a deep breath in and out.
Agents upskilling agents was very cool.
One AI agent shared skills
with its little agent friends via GitHub.
Several speakers had OpenClaw literally building their presentation during the event itself. One
speaker even had OpenClaw code a clicker for her phone so she could control the presentation away
from the podium. Wouldn't say model welfare or agent welfare is a prioritized topic among the
folks I chatted with. Language like, oh, I could kill this agent whenever I want and not gracefully sunset. I asked if it felt like work or play. One speaker said it's like
a puzzle in a video game at the same time. This is the tip of the iceberg. Hosted a Cloud Code
meetup this week and learned equally helpful methods, framework, and insider tips. What a
time to be alive. Surround yourself with people going deep in this. It'll pay dividends throughout
the year. Yeah, good take. And I agree. What a time to be alive. Youround yourself with people going deep in this. It'll pay dividends throughout the year. Yeah, good take.
And I agree.
What a time to be alive.
You're not late.
You are early.
And I think, now, are there a lot of smart people building in this?
Yeah, absolutely.
But some of them are going to miss.
Some of them aren't going to figure it out.
Case in point, Think Agents was early, early to this world.
I mean, years ago, started building as far as building your own AI agents. And unfortunately, they haven't worked yet. I mean, I'm trying to
think I should wear this. They've raised funds, they landed some big deals. And I don't know if
it was moving too slow. I don't know if they just couldn't find, couldn't click.
But I mean, they were building this stuff
well before OpenClaw even became an idea in Peter's head.
The announcement that came out yesterday,
an experienced group of venture builders
are in the process of reorganizing and relaunching Think.
There'll be an X Spaces hosted next week
to share their vision and plan.
Stay tuned with details.
I do think I saw that Jesse, one of the founders, is going to remain on as an advisor,
but not sure what that means.
Again, I don't know.
But we had Think Agents on the show.
We talked about them.
And I hold an agent or two, but candidly never did anything with it.
It was pretty complex and
yeah, just didn't quite land. But again, my point of sharing that isn't to dunk on
think agents, but rather someone was early, some really smart, really sharp people. And they,
you know, they didn't successfully land the plane or find product market fit.
Doesn't mean that you will, but it also doesn't mean that you won't or that just because you don't have experience in this thing that you are
so far behind. In fact, again, reiterating, you're all far ahead of the masses on this
just by being here and even being aware of half this stuff.
That said, any thoughts, comments on that, on AI agents, AI in general? It is a Friday. I do want
to hit a little bit on the headline I alluded to earlier on the arrest. Give Zach, I guess,
a little credit after he took some shots last week for creating such a big deal out about the 200K. The FBI arrested, what's his name? John Degotti,
a US government contractor. I believe it was actually his dad was the US government contractor,
and that's how he got access. He was arrested for the FBI for allegedly stealing 46 million
in crypto from US Marshall Service wallets. This was stolen funds from government seizures,
I'm sorry, government seizures,
including the Bitfinex hack.
They were traced through multiple wallets.
Degati is the son of CMDSS CEO Dean Degati,
company with government contract to manage said seized funds.
The wild part about this is this kid was like bragging about it.
He was like talking crap. After Zach first exposed him, he like launched a shit coin.
He dusted Zach's wallet, got a little arrogant, and ultimately got popped.
This is from the FBI director here.
Picture of him in cuffs and his treasures, some cash. And even though this might be a bad example,
that's a reminder today to, if you don't have a YubiKey, get, Nick Carr says, at least Pro is
practicing solid OPSEC with all those YubiKeys. Yeah, if you missed it, YubiKeys are the best way
to secure your X account. I mean, more than just X, but I just primarily use mine for X.
Anything else on people's mind today before we talk about the fight of Penguins? The,
if you missed it, PEI licensing the company behind the original Penguin brand. That's the
brand, Original Penguin. It's been around since 1956. They also own Perry Ellis. They just sued Pudgy Penguins for trademark infringement. The claim
was Pudgy Penguins applied to register phrases like, I am my penguin, and my penguin is me
in Pingu Nation on apparel. Original Penguin says that's their turf. Pudgy Penguins say
they're visually distinct and
targets different markets the internet has opinions for sure um i don't know i'm not a
trademark attorney serious matter i think it's bullish pudgy penguins i think it's the resembles
uncanny cap the resembles uncanny yeah. The resembles on candy. Yeah.
I don't even think they look even remotely close to the same.
Um, but again, not, not a, not, I'm not a, uh, not, not an IP attorney.
So I don't know.
Um, there is from articles like Bloomberg ran with this.
Um, we'll go to one that's not behind a paywall.
Um, this is trying to find some good images here.
This one is from Cointelegraph. And yeah, I've got pulled up here on screen. You know,
this is directly from the complaint. PEI's products, you know, original Penguin compared
to Pudgy Penguins. The immediate similarities between
definite marks and products and PEI's penguin marks are shown, which compare PEI's, like, I just,
I don't think they look close to the same. I've seen some funny stuff. I also said that if this
was 2021, we'd already have a 10,000 PFP collection on the original Penguins, which would be directly violating and infringing
on the marks that are owned by PEI.
But we have seen some funny memes, but I mean, again, we would have a full-fledged collection
if this was a hot NFT market.
You know, you can see here, this is actually from the Pudgy Penguin account.
So not only not backing down, firing shots back over the bow.
Interesting tactic. I will say they, not an attorney, they probably should have responded
to the cease and desist. I used the comparison yesterday, like, again, not an attorney.
Again, not an attorney.
I have led a top 100 global franchise brand that owned multiple marks.
And the brand included common words.
Granted, it wasn't animals, but it included common words.
And we couldn't defend the common words.
Someone couldn't steal the logo.
Someone couldn't steal the full name together. Like if my interpretation, if Pudgy Penguin was calling
themselves original Penguin, original Penguin would have an absolute, like a slam dunk case
likely, but they're not. I'm under the impression you can't mark, you can't trademark common words, animals.
They own original Penguin, but that is, my understanding, that's very different.
In my personal experience, that's very different from just having the trademark on the word
mark Penguin.
we'll see how this plays out. It probably results in some sort of settlement.
We'll see how this plays out.
It probably results in some sort of settlement.
Probably Pudgy agrees to make sure they're very clearly differentiating and not creating any sort
of consumer confusion. I will say that Pudgy Penguin has driven at least one extra dress shirt sale because last dress shirt I bought was
a penguin, original penguin dress shirt, not because I confused it with Pudgy Penguin,
but I had Pudgy Penguin on my mind. I'm like, oh, I'm going to grab a penguin dress shirt instead
of the one that doesn't have a penguin on it. And I bought their stuff. My bigger point being that
they have a duty to protect their marks.
I also think there could have been other ways to go about this instead of firing cease and desist and legal threats and ultimately a lawsuit.
I don't know.
Maybe there's a collaboration there, i.e., a bathing ape and bored ape to brands that have launched apparel with ape in the name.
And instead of sending you guys cease and desist or filing a lawsuit because they have bored ape
in their name, they have ape in their name on, on merch. They've collaborated with them,
done multiple collaborations. It's been beneficial for both companies. I think every drop they've done has been a sellout. And there's ways to do this.
I also, just a quick search,
you can find there's dozens of other apparel brands
that have Penguin in their name.
So maybe you could say those logos are the same.
I don't think they look anything remotely close.
I don't think one could be confused with the other.
And I just don't think they can have a, I don't think it's anything remotely close. I don't think one could be confused with the other. And I just don't think they can have a,
I don't think it's going to hold up in court
their claim on the word penguin
because they haven't,
it doesn't appear that they've went out
after any of these other apparel brands
that have the word penguin from angry penguin to,
I mean, there's several that use,
that use penguin in their apparel brand.
Anyways, Jesus, I saw your hand fly up there.
Thoughts on the fight of the Penguins?
Yeah, I think it's all dumb bullshit.
Yeah, and to my knowledge, I think Joey Moose actually came up with the slogan.
I am a Penguin.
My Penguin is me.
That was my memory as well.
Yeah, he tweets about that quite a bit.
That was his emotional connection to his PFP when he got it.
So, yeah, it's all baseless.
It's all dumb.
I don't think this will go anywhere.
If I was a judge, like, I mean, I would find this company just for wasting the court's time.
Funny way to say you want a Pudgy Penguin collab, though.
I mean, that's probably just what they want is they want the recognition.
They want that Bayesian A-B-A-Y-C collaboration.
Yeah, they just want to ride on the momentum that Pudgy's getting. I mean, you have U.S. senators changing their PAPs on X to a Pudgy Penguin, to an NFT, not supporting their brand.
So yeah, I'd be a little bit mad as well.
But like Cap said, there's hundreds of other brands that have Pudgy, or not Pudgy, but Penguin in their name.
So what are you going to do? Go sue every zoo that has a penguin on their shirts? of other brands that have Pudgy, or not Pudgy, but Penguin in their name.
So what are you going to do?
Go sue every zoo that has a penguin on their shirts?
Are you going to go, like, it just makes no sense.
We don't know the details of the cease and desist from 2003, but... 2023, yeah.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, 2023.
And, you know, but they probably thought it was all baseless,
so they just ignored it, you know.
Again, not an attorney, but I think,
like, if you ever get a cease and desist,
it's probably not best to just ignore it.
Like, I do think that it would probably have been beneficial
for Original Penguin to work with Pudgy Penguin
to drift off the brand they're building. I think they could have probably
benefited from that.
I think this is giving...
It's going to introduce more
people to Pudgy Penguin
maybe... It also is
introducing more people to Original Penguin
that are Pudgy Penguin fans,
but I don't think they're going to rush out and buy
an Original Penguin shirt now. It's a negative connotation as opposed to, uh,
a positive one. And they do, I will say this, like, is it silly? Yes.
They do have a responsibility. If you, how trademarks work, if you don't defend your
trademark, it's basically not worth any more
than the paper it's printed on. Like you, you, you have to defend your trademark. If you don't,
then that can be used against you in the future. I just don't think this is, to me,
the brands don't look even, the only thing they have in common is the word penguin. And for that
matter, it's pudgy penguins, plural, not singular original penguin.
The font's different.
The characters are different.
The logos are different.
I just, yeah, we'll see.
It's likely some sort of settlement that comes out of this.
Their penguin has body dysmorphia or something, Cap.
Yeah, it's kind of an ugly penguin.
It's definitely not a cute penguin.
Not nearly fat enough to be a cute penguin.
Yeah, it's a little Downsy. I just, you know, I think it's all done.
Yeah, I, I, it's gonna be interesting to follow. It's gonna be interesting how this plays out.
It's also on a day where, not a day, but, you know, as, as Luca the other day talked about, desire to go public, file an IPO.
There was also someone saw that they moved, I think, like $3.2 million of Pingu to an exchange, alluding someone was trying to connect the dots.
A centralized exchange.
Yeah, maybe they're looking to off-ramp and maybe settle this thing.
looking to off-ramp and maybe settle this thing.
Who knows?
But, you know, Pudgy's in the news,
maybe not exactly what they wanted,
but I don't think,
at the end of the day,
I don't think it's going to be that big a deal.
And I think they probably come out of this okay,
if not maybe even benefit from it a little bit.
I'm trying to see if ChatGBT can give me a name or a number,
but it's not.
A number for what?
It's not how many brands have the word penguin,
how many apparel brands.
And it's saying simple answer is less than 20. I asked last night as well. Let me see
if I can find my search. But it said the most well-known is Original Penguin, an American
sportswear brand. So a lot of them are boutique brands. The count I got was one major global
brand, which is Original Penguin, then five to 10 mid-size niche brands. And then I got was one major global brand, which is original Penguin, then five to
10 midsize niche brands. And then you got 20 to 80 small online and boutique brands, total estimated
apparel brands using Penguin, 30 to 100 worldwide. Now, some of those are like a, I don't know, a skateboard company that also is going to sell merch and put their penguin
on there. Most clothing companies cannot copy Pete the penguin, which is apparently what
original penguin is called. It's got a name and can't make it look similar,
but you can still legally use the word penguin in a different brand name.
So that's, again, who knows?
But you've got urban penguin clothing.
You've got angry penguin apparel.
You've got pink penguin clothing.
You've got black penguin streetwear.
You've got penguin surf apparel, little penguin clothing, penguin kidswear.
If none of these other penguin brands existed, then I'd say, oh, maybe they have a point. Maybe Original Penguin actually owns the word Penguin in apparel.
I just, I don't think they do. I said we'd have a PFP collection. Maybe we are back. Maybe it is
an NFT bowl because, now the collection I hasn't minted yet, but these are all just like some
mock-ups. It looks like they took some of the known personalities in the Penguin community.
And they original Penguin-fied.
Original Penguin's going to have a day with this.
In fact, I would not be surprised at this point that now,
like I know these people are doing it as like a meme and it's a joke.
You might be giving actually some additional fodder for original penguin suit. Like now you might actually see this exact tweet as evidence in the case.
Like they may, you might see this in future filings,
especially because Foxy Penguin here has not only present of Asia for pudgy penguins,
Igloo, he's rocking the Pudgy badge.
This probably crosses the line a little bit.
I don't know.
I don't, you know, Luka knows what he's doing.
Who am I to say?
I think it's very different if someone from the community is doing this versus someone who's actually employed by the team and rocking a badge probably could come back to uh to to sting them a little bit
because it's just your because now you are like now like this does look like pete the penguin or
whatever um whatever the uh original penguin's mascot is called like these are a blatant copy. And I don't know.
It's a great.
I've seen a funny post where it was the,
they used the picture of Danny DeVito as the penguin
and the original penguin saying that there was a new lawsuit filed there as
And that looks more like
the original Penguins thing. Completely random. The new Penguin, not Danny DeVito, but the new
Penguin series, really good if you haven't seen that and you're looking for some it's something to uh cat you're looking for something to binge over the weekend and you haven't watched 97 kingdoms or um pit the who who i can't think
of that actor who who's the actor in the new because he put on all the pharaoh colin pharaoh
does not look like colin pharaoh like incredible incredible job of he had to put on like some actual
job of, he had to put on like some actual weight. It's so funny. Penguin books. Like,
now I go, it's not apparel. It's not. So it's a different industry, a different
class. I don't know if that might be the right word I'm looking for. But this looks pretty much closer to the original Penguin in terms of the
logo than does the Pudgy Penguin. Again, I know it's not apparel per se, but you can probably
find this Penguin Random House. You probably can find some of their, they probably have submerged somewhere. Anyways, I'm curious to see how this plays out.
I'm not, you know, I'm, you know, I'm rooting for Pudgies.
I would say probably not the best to have your employees
taking the direct shots like that.
But BFX says, Pingu about to rip when we bounce.
Like, I do.
I think this is, it could blow up in their face,
but I think that there's also a world
where Pudgy Penguins actually benefits from this.
Not always is any press good press.
any press good press. I do think this is one of those scenarios where this is good press for them.
I do think this is one of those scenarios
where this is good press for them.
And if this thing plays out in Pudgy's favor, it doesn't end up costing the millions of dollars
in court. It's going to be baked into their lore. Then the whole forget PVP with apes or punks,
the flippity will be Pudgy flipping Original Penguin
as the leading Penguin apparel brand.
Like this is where I think it's dangerous
for Original Penguin to take this stance.
Not only do I feel it's borderline frivolous
and they probably could have worked with them
and benefited from it,
you might just be firing up a bunch of Pudgy Penguin holders
and if this thing plays out in their favor,
like it could be a rallying cry.
It's going to be part of that lore.
It's like, we're not quite normal here in the crypto space.
And I could see this being one of those things
where we look back in a few years
and I'll remember when Original Penguin sued uh pudgy penguin and and kind of set
them off leveled them up because of uh the new world not only entered them into but um and got
you know more eyeballs on them but became that uh you know part of the part of the rallying their
war on the floor will be the war versus uh like an actual penguin fight. Jesus, thoughts on this?
Any closing thoughts on Penguin before I do?
I saw, thank you, True Crypto King.
I see True or Try Amigo app.
I'll pull it up here in a second
and see what that might be.
Any other thoughts, Jesus?
No, nothing on that.
I think it's all baseless.
And I don't know.
I don't see what grounds they would
need to pay them out anything on it's totally different art it's totally different everything
you know i could understand if the penguin brand had like you know their own igloo and
you know what i mean like it's i think it's dumb yeah i, I mean, I agree. I think that the why there might be a likely payout is because litigation is extremely
expensive and sometimes it's easiest just to settle and agree to do things, even if
it's not cutting a big check, just to get the thing to go away.
So you're not spending six, seven, eight figures in legal fees.
This Amigo app looks pretty cool.
Earn more as creators get popular.
Amigo is a new social monetization platform.
Every creator has their own set of keys.
Supporters buy keys from creators,
unlocking access to exclusive chat.
Sounds like, help me out.
What was the friend?
It was Frientech.
Frientech, yes. Sounds very FriendTech-esque.
You know, six keys.
I mean, even so far as calling them keys,
six keys sold plus creator fees,
four creators, four fans,
connect your socials,
launch community, earn from activity,
build real communities.
I mean, I don't know.
It sounds very, I'll check it out more.
It sounds very FriendTech-esque.
While FriendTech didn't work out,
I think there's maybe something here in this world of creators,
athletes, musicians, artists.
I just don't know if it's exactly this model.
If it, maybe.
I'm not fighting it.
Not fighting it, Crypto King.
Thanks for sharing.
I will check it out more.
I just, I guess my first question would be,
what makes this different than Frientech?
And if nothing, why would we expect different outcomes?
It is, you know, they do have iOS and Android apps live,
so that's good.
But yeah, I'm just curious what,
because it's not just Frientech.
There's been several,
BitCloud and several others that have,
thanks, thanks, ST McFly.
I appreciate it.
I will attempt to get in here shortly
using your ref codes, but if someone wants to front run me, ST McFly here shortly using your ref codes,
but if someone wants to front run me,
S-Team with Fly dropped a couple of ref codes,
invite codes in the chat down below.
The thing I see everybody tweeting about,
imagine if you could have a key to Mr. Beast's,
you know, platform before he went big.
It's like, I don't know.
I hear keys.
I get the same vibes um you know but me personally i just
when i find a platform that i like i stick to that platform and until proven that the platform is not
you know beneficial for me um and i might and i miss out on some things, but yeah, I'm just going to stick with ZEAT.
That seems to be their lining up brand distribution.
That's kind of what it is.
Triamigo, it seems like it's creator distribution and people buying into you.
They're doing the same thing with ZEAT.
You're buying a creator card because you believe the creator is going to perform well.
And then you get rewards based on that.
The only way right here, it seems like,
is if the creator does well,
you have to sell your portion of him.
On Z, you're going to earn rewards
just by holding that creator.
You don't have to sell them.
I do think there's something here.
This is a post, not someone in crypto.
Someone who's just a YouTuber exploring tech,
creativity, and the art of living.
Sarah Dietschy, studiosetup.com,
not following, just came across the post yesterday
that says, I wish I could invest in YouTube videos.
I saw a rooftop DJ set at 100,000
views and was like, oh, this is incredible. This is going to do numbers. Has 24 million views now.
And then she says, I hate that this has turned into a polymarket slash Kalshi conversation,
LML. They are terrible for society. I was more talking about investing in creators directly
for bragging rights. And yeah, maybe a tiny slice of future revenues if you're early. And then I quote tweeted and said, who's building this? No, not Jesse's idea. Of course,
someone says this is Zora coded. I, Mimlo, I don't know if Mimlo's, yeah, this is my first
time seeing blow your mind. Justin Blau, I'm following Michael.
I'm guessing it's Michael Justin's brother.
And Bond is, I'm following it,
so I must have been familiar with.
A new way to make money online.
Royal, okay, it's Royal Rebanded.
I'm just familiar with Royal,
a platform that was one of the early ones to,
I thought music royalties was where they were going
um glenn also a friend fan of the show uh says will join bond finally solve the problem of spam
dms while still allowing valuable cold outbound to persist i think it might just might uh in low
if you want to no obligations if you want to jump up and give us a better tldr on bond this
is my first time i can tell you about bond what do you what do you know about bond uh jonah gm
thanks for jumping yeah so uh and emlo could still explain that i mean it's still a spotlight but
um bond was originally royal and royal was uh raised and founded but is there an echo
you good yeah we're good i don't
know what it is with x but when the speaker comes up like you get oh no x dog yeah it's like three
to four seconds i can't hear it but the speaker's here and then it should just go away so hopefully
it's already gone for you all right all good so basically bond was a thing called Royal. Royal was founded by Blau.
And then Blau realized that Royal didn't work and pivoted to this thing called Bond.
So Bond is like friend tech, but focused on stable coins.
Interesting.
Like no creator is a token. So the way it works is like if you have if you believe in someone you just stake
dollars on them but the the thing is they don't the creator on the other side doesn't take that
money what happens is that that um stable coin has yield so you're earning interest on that dollar
So you're earning interest on that dollar, but because you're allocating it to that creator as fandom, that creator is then getting network value in terms of deals, access, all these other things.
So you're basically creating a savings account and attributing it to a creator you like to represent where you want to allocate your focus and time.
like it better than a creator token.
The creator tokens have always been
kind of like a turnoff to me.
I thought creator tokens would be a thing,
but I was wrong
about that.
I don't think creator
tokens are going to work, at least for a long time.
Yeah, and I do think for them to work,
we're going to have to,
like, we need continued iteration.
Like, we need to, like, it needs,
so I guess, again, not fudding amigos.
My first time seeing today,
it was my first thought that was seeing.
It's like, oh, this is just,
this is just Frientech 2.0.
I'm sure there's differences.
Not knocking it.
I just, I think we do need something different
as that Friente tech model has not worked
on multiple occasions.
I think part of the reason is like,
you gotta, you know, the creators have to,
you're almost forced to dump on people.
The idea of a stable coin instead of their own coin,
nice little change.
It doesn't, I mean, just looking at some
of these market caps here,
do you know when they rebranded
from royal to to bond i don't like a year and a half ago or so wow okay yeah interesting i've not
kept up but they haven't really pushed it they haven't like really marketed it from what i
understand maybe they have i'm not sure i this is my reminder also psa to all of you we've got
about another month or so to get your NFTs off of Nifty Gateway.
The two NFTs I hold over there, it's a Faces NFT, one of Blau's first ones.
One of my first NFTs I minted, actually, before Apes even.
And then actually, one of the reasons I have this PFP is after I minted my first Ape and was before Pranksy and Blau and all these people,
I thought I'd watch it for a few more weeks
and maybe pick up a couple more.
Woke up at four in the morning.
Last thing I had open was that,
the Bored APL Club Discord.
First one I admitted was in the 600s
and it was like a slow burn.
It'd already been meaning for weeks
and, or about 10 days.
And the Discord was just absolutely popping off.
I saw Blau in there.
I saw a lot of people like many dozens.
I didn't know him at the time,
but like Mando and OSF.
And I just saw the pandemonium
and I had 0.16 left in my hot wallet.
I was like, I better mint a couple more of these
before I go to bed.
And the PFP I have today is one of those I minted
and Blau being in there and just seeing like,
okay, there's some serious people
that are deep in crypto at the time
who are doing some things,
but builders in the space on the mining apes.
Like, okay, this thing is going to take off
faster than I thought.
And yeah, shout out to Blau for the little added.
And he did end up mining, I don't know,
50 some apes, gave a lot of them away
and was an early brand ambassador.
Royal, I thought good in theory.
This stuff's challenging.
When you're trying new novel stuff, it's easier said than done.
And many artists would tell you that the industry is kind of broken.
You know, Spotify, like outside of like the biggest names in the world are, they crush it on there, but it's for your emerging artists or your early artists, like it's
just the, the fee split, the financials aren't great. And, um, seems to be, there could be a,
a better option at some point. It's not music NFTs just as an NFT, but maybe,
maybe there is something else there. And
same thing with this concept of a closed group chat. I think the other thing too is where I,
like, I don't personally, I don't want to go to another platform, build something like this on
top of X or on top. And I think that's probably where it ends up winning is when X does something
like this. Speaking of, they just introduced exclusive threads. I'm not saying that's it, but they, if you missed it,
Nikita yesterday shared the, you know, you'll now have a thread where you might see like the
first post and then you have to subscribe to see the fifth or sixth post down the chain.
I do think whether it's X or YouTube, once they introduce something that kind of bolsters
these up and coming creators and allows fans to get some sort of stake in the early, being early,
identifying these creators, I think that's, for me, I'd prefer that as opposed to another app or
another platform that I'm just, I don't want more social media platforms in my life. I'd like less, but build on top of them.
Anyways, I digress.
Jay Ross says,
oh, catching some Pokemon.
Thanks for jumping in.
Appreciate you being here.
Enjoying the Z talk.
I think I do have, well, I don't really have much to say on the
Dario Amadei, the CEO of Anthropic.
You know, they broke up with, well, the, I guess the department of war broke up with them.
And now Amadei is kind of walking it back, apologizing to department of defense and,
and Trump.
And he called it a difficult day for the company.
He wrote like a huge, like, I don't know, 1600 word memo to his employees that someone
has leaked.
The memo said, does not reflect carefully or considered views is an out-of-date assessment.
Anthropic did not authorize the leak.
So he publicly apologized
for this memo that leaked publicly. Anthropic not backing down on subsidies says he had no choice
but to challenge the designation in court. The AI autonomy red lines remain. No mass domestic
surveillance. No fully autonomous weapons. Those haven't moved. And I don't know, man, it's gonna
be really weird to see how this plays out.
There was also like the Sam Altman files came out recently and just some more dirt on him.
ChatGPT download uninstalls are peaking.
Claude installs are climbing.
They flipped in terms of App Store new downloads.
I don't know.
It just, the, I don't, maybe nothing comes of it,
but it is, I think competition is very real and we're going to continue to see evolve,
advancements in AI because it's so highly competitive.
Like cutthroat's probably an understatement.
You're talking some of the biggest,
most valuable companies in the world in this arena,
as well as some of the most valuable startups. And I think we're just going to see new stuff
shipped on a monthly, if not weekly or daily basis for the foreseeable future. Very, very
exciting time. Having lived through the dot-com era and smartphone explosion, never seen anything
like this.
The clip of which we're seeing new stuff, not just small, like, oh, the camera got a little better,
but like real, real exponential advancements often. Exciting to see for sure. And reiterating,
if you're here, you're all early on the AI front. Hizzy says, I think Unvault and music NFTs could
work together since the divot could be from ticket revenue type stuff. Yeah, good idea, actually. Instead of just flipping
NFTs, sharing in those royalties could very well be another way, especially if they can find a way
to incorporate real world revenue. I alluded to someone in my DMs earlier that's building something
on that front. Easier said than done because you do have, you can't be a security and just tough
to, you know, you got to abide by laws and regulations. Einstein says the nibbles reveals
11 a.m. today. Good luck to everyone that mended some nibbles. I hope you pull a rare. And that
might be a good little warm topic to wrap up Friday. If anyone else has any thoughts on anything
we discussed today or
anything we haven't covered, they had some questions or some thoughts, feel free to throw
in a request or drop your comments or questions in the chat down below. And as I do that, I will
pull up some little NFT market update. We didn't get on that early when I was talking markets.
Pudgies down 3.2% on the lawsuit news. I kid. I doubt that's why their floor is down. But nevertheless,
Little Pudgies also down 2% of the day. Mutants down 0.5%. Quirkies up again 1.09,
only 0.4%, but they continue to perform well in a very volatile market.
Punks are flat. Hypers flat. Apes are down 1.8%. Death and taxes
down 7.9%, but still at 0.04. Maybe this is the weekend I finally pick up a death and taxes and
start playing the game. Moonbirds down 6% of the day to 1.07. Beeple down 7%, although there was a
big, maybe politics is bullshit. One of the OG Beeple's I saw sold for,
I think, close to 10 ETH.
Ladymaker down 1%. Nothing really too exciting on...
Normie's back up 8% to 0.04.
Maybe this is what it was.
Let me see if I can see recent sales.
It wasn't that one. There was a different one that sold. I don't still know what collection it was. But people are collecting art despite the current market conditions. Good Vibes Club
down 4% to 0.72. Crypto Dickbutt's down 18% after their big pump. Still 0.6 though.
And Del Mundo's back up 28% after
they had kind of sold off. They're still half. I think their peak was about 0.15, so down from
that, but a nice little rebound there, a nice little bounce. Nibbles, as we talked about,
that revealed today at 11 a.m. Eastern. If you missed the mint, you can still pick one up on the secondary for 0.03. Mimit's down 1% on the day, and Doodle's flat at 0.48.
Nakamigos, haven't heard about them, haven't heard anyone talk about them for a while,
down 2% to 0.11, and Moonbird Mythic's up a little bit as well with the Moonbird pump.
Other Deeds, 0.08, Squiggles, 2.5.
One of these days, I'll pick up a squiggle, it's just not now.
Squiggle and a Rafiq are two
that I would like to add to a long-term hold,
just not in the market at the moment.
So someone dropped White House meme,
just seeing that for the first time,
up 3,000% of the that. I'm guessing it just launched
yesterday, about an hour ago, or maybe 24 hours ago. We got White House, we got war,
what the dog doing, Pippin, I think might be this, the crime coin of the month or two.
But yeah, I've not really been, I mean, I'm not that I'm a deep trencher anyways, but I've really been out of the trenches for a bit.
Not, would much rather just trade perps of things I know what they are.
Diablo says, I already pay enough attention, pay enough for X, don't see myself subscribing to anyone.
Yeah, maybe, I don't, actually, I'm kind of with you. I listen to a lot of podcasts. I
consume a lot of content. I don't know if I like the only content subscriptions I have,
though, would be the big ones would be like Netflix, YouTube premium. I am making the shift
from Spotify to YouTube premium, you know, HBO Max or Max now, whatever it's called.
I don't think I pay for any newsletter subscriptions or any X subscriptions.
I don't pay for any podcasts.
I don't pay for any Patreons.
It's just me, though.
I know people do, and I don't pay for any newsletters.
There's just so much free information out there now.
And while I appreciate human content very much,
I think for me, it's this sort of stuff,
like the live content
or like the personality I can get via a podcast
versus newsletter subscription.
I feel like I guess we're more, this is just me, not knocking anyone that has a paid newsletter. Our newsletter is like, I guess we're more,
this is just me,
not knocking anyone that has a paid newsletter.
Our newsletter is free, by the way,
coffeewithcaptain.com.
Comes out tomorrow, once a week.
Where I net out on it is I,
with there's so much information at our fingertips now,
not just with Google and YouTube,
but all these LLMs.
Like, so if I, when it comes to like written content in education, like I don't, I struggle to understand
what is someone else going to write in a newsletter that I wouldn't get from an LLM.
I'm sure it exists. I know there's, I'm not trying to knock anyone. And I do very,
greatly, I'm biased here as I well as bias, I greatly value human content.
I just, I don't know.
I struggle with the stuff.
This is like a full circle moment
because it goes back to what Joey said way early on.
People are lazy.
They like to be spoon fed.
They like to be given things.
I have four subscribers.
I haven't done any subscriber only spaces,
nothing like that.
I gave all the subscribers,
I actually had five.
And then I messaged all five of them
like two or three months ago
and gave them all an NFT
that was worth like $200 a piece.
So I paid for their whole subscription for like a year plus,
if not way more than that, a couple of years.
One of the guys unsubscribed, sold the NFT.
It's fine.
But I mean, there's ways to give value back to people that support you.
And the way I look at it, while it's very minimal amount, you know, supporting creators in that way of being able to, you know, if you're giving them three, five, six bucks a month, like how much are you wasting in other places anyways. You know what I'm saying? So like, if you have a favorite creator
and they are, have subscriptions on and it's, you know, it's a reasonable amount of money and you
just enjoy their content and that's what you get out of that, even though you get it for free,
but you never know, you might get whitelist opportunities. You might get, you know, some
spaces with a, with a founder that nobody else can get access to for a month.
And you get that alpha ahead of time.
Like, there's things that you could do that could really, you know,
I think bring your community a little bit closer.
I agree. I agree.
I guess, yeah, and not knocking anyone that has subscriptions
or anyone that subscribes anyone.
It's like another way to tip your favorite creators.
They have subscriptions on, go sub.
It's showing support.
And to your point, it's like buying you a cup of coffee a month.
Not the worst way. While I agree with all that, I also, it's why I remain optimistic or bullish on something like
Bond or Amigo or, you know, Z, something like that, that's more, that's more than just a
subscription, something that I think maybe it is threaded premium threads or exclusive threads.
I don't know.
At first seeing that, I'll pull up Nikita's post in a second.
It didn't like, oh, that's going to be the next big thing on Twitter.
It is, I mean, it is an update.
I will say this, probably more so than getting excited about exclusive threads
is the fact that they are putting some focus into creator monetization, doing new stuff.
He says, the most powerful distribution channel in the world is Timeline. And today,
we're launching a new way to take full advantage of it to monetize your content,
introducing exclusive threads. Here's an exclusive thread on why it's best to build
a content business on the internet. And you can see here in the video,
the creator certifications 2.0,
as I'm going through here,
I have to subscribe to unlock the rest of this thread.
If the subject matter or expert or writer,
this is a special moment for you to harness your reach on X.
We're excited to see what you create.
Credit the folks who are.
So, yeah, again, more so than exclusive threads themselves, I'm excited that they're putting,
they're doing new stuff for creators on X. And hopefully this is just one of many more
updates and opportunities to A, support your favorite creators, and then on the creator front
to monetize your content. We will see. Also, I'm glad I didn't open that long yet.
We got the pre-10 a.m. dump.
Did we get news?
Is this the, I can't imagine this would be off of the non-farm payroll
and other inflation stuff that printed this morning,
but we were getting quite the dump here. Anyone see any news?
I haven't seen any news, but I went and looked at Nikita's profile last night. I clicked on it
to see what the subscriber benefits are and all that stuff. And he had like 515 subscribers.
subscribers now he's up to 639 at three dollars a month so he's he's making like two g's a month
off of his subscribers um now whether or not they keep the subscription after this month but
still just that one post made him two grand which for him that's probably a tip at you know imagine
you gotta be such a grifter that you gotta you gotta have your product team create a new product for you to make.
I'm kidding.
I'm kidding.
It's a joke.
Please don't flip that or take it out of context.
It is a joke.
Kept trying to get banned on X.
Yeah, dude.
That's, you'd probably face it and get rugged.
It's a joke, Nikita.
I'm just kidding.
Thank you for the new update for creators.
Can anyone tell me why ETH is dumping?
I'm guessing Bitcoin as well.
Maybe it is just Friday morning at Bitcoin taking a dump as well. We're continuing to sell off this morning. Now down to $68,369. So we did not get the coffee with Captain Pump this morning.
But yeah, at least the long... Thank you, you mayhem for encouraging the, the stop loss.
I was upset when I got stopped out.
Now I'm grateful probably now below where I opened.
Yeah, I'm definitely below where I opened it.
So I would have took a, would have not pocketed those gains.
I actually be down on that trade.
Instead, I'm still on the sidelines,
patiently waiting or impatiently waiting for reentry.
Someone shared this.
I'm reading it in real time.
This is from Animoca Brands Need to Get a Test on.
Yasu probably has got an AI agent for it or nine.
In this episode, he introduced Animoca Minds and its revolutionary potential in the AI economy.
Explore how you can make your minds work together to streamline your workflow and why digital identity is even more crucial now than ever in a world of AI agents will become the norm.
I also agree they're going to become the norm. What I don't know, is it going to be
something like Animoca Minds? Is it going to be something like Think Agents? Or
is it more likely to just to be Claude Cowork or perplexity computer or you know
fill in the blank from one of the
major LLMs. Perplexity
is Claude by the way.
It's what you
would call an agent router. It's not
it's not its own AI.
What am I thinking though? There's a different
You have Google. Google anti-gravity with its own
um they have their own agent thing they launched literally yesterday has anyone played around with
the correct me on the you're in my domain now i know a lot about ai unfortunately having to build
what what's the like google launch for it was one. What's the... Google launch
is skills? What's the correct terminology
what Google turned on for the Google suite
of products, Google workplace? Skills?
I'm trying to understand the context
of what you're asking.
Yesterday they announced...
I'm pretty sure it was CLI.
Is that right? Command line?
Yeah, so it means that an AI agent can interface with the thing.
That's what it is.
It's basically a CLI.
It allows an AI agent to interact with the app
or converse with the software.
What is the I? Command line what?
What is the I?
To be honest, I don't know.
I would imagine interface, command line interface.
That's got to be it.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
So, yeah, they introduced Google Workspace, CLI, the GitHub,
and it's built for humans and agent, Google Drive, Gmail, Calendar,
and every workspace API, 40 plus agent skills included.
To put that in layman
terms, Jonah, it's basically
like Google just made it easier
for your agents
to do things inside of Google.
Is that accurate?
more like...
Do you know what an IDE is?
I don't know. when you're coding software, you have to download an IDE.
This allows you to code from effectively your terminal.
And this is how you make apps.
So an IDE is where you would add your CLI.
So like an IDE would be VS Code, for example,
which is a free and open source.
So VS Code, you would download on your Mac or Windows.
It's better on Mac.
And then you could add the CLI information to your IDE.
So that way you can interface with their software
from your code-based terminal,
which means you can make apps faster.
You can develop shit faster.
It's, you know, anyone who's doing vibe coding wants this.
This is like the tier one thing you need to do
in order to make apps or websites
or whatever the fuck you're going to make with AI.
IDE is like VS Code, Anti-Gravity, Cursor, etc.
Thanks for that pain. That helps.
What would you say?
So, like, I'm tracking with you now.
I didn't know all the acronyms, but I'm tracking now.
I want to explore more. I want to play more.
For someone who just heard that first time
and they went like deer in headlights,
like it sounded like a foreign language to them.
Where's the best, like, where, where, so, okay, I'm in,
I know I need to learn AI.
I know I'm still early.
Where's the best place for someone to start
if they've never coded before,
if they've only used ChatGPT or Claude
as like a glorified Google search,
what would you be your top recommendation?
Is it some of these courses that some of these big companies have launched?
Where would you recommend someone starting this weekend
if they want a weekend project?
Anthropic released a free course.
I don't suggest buying courses from people.
Course sellers are, you know, scorched earth.
Anthropic released an entire course on how to do this for free. Just search it up.
Other than that,
YouTube videos, but if you
want to, like, one,
pick a laptop or
some device that you don't care
if it gets hacked or something happens to it.
That's the first thing.
Create an environment where you do not care
if something bad happens.
So what you do is once you have your laptop or your Mac mini or whatever the hell you're using,
and you don't need a Mac mini, by the way, to do this, people overspend on this shit,
is then download, if it's a MacBook or an Apple product, download VS Code.
It's, you know, there's a website, you download it, it's, you know there's a website you download it it's you know first search. From there you can connect your Claude subscription or
your OpenAI subscription because it's in there and you'll connect it to your VS
code and then from there just follow the instructions. It's super easy. It's super
super easy but yeah first super, super easy.
But yeah, first thing I do is look at the Claude course and then any, you know, trusted YouTube videos
because those are free.
No, I appreciate that.
Great advice.
I did just drop the Claude courses in the chat.
Anthropic Academy, I'll pin that up top in one second.
Great. I've not taken any of these, but
I would imagine... Yeah, it's free.
If you have no idea about anything
and you don't have a lot of
agency to look it up yourself, just start
there and you'll know more than
80% of the global population
just through that.
And part of the beauty of this is if you have
questions, if you're reading something,
you're not understanding it,
go ask Claude to help you understand it.
It's just like the ability to get educated
and speedrun education is,
it's greater than any time in human history.
It's not just YouTube tutorials.
Yeah, you could start there,
but if you need deeper understanding,
if you need help unpacking
whatever the YouTube,
ask Claude, ask ChatGP gpt whatever is your go-to um just just don't feel that you're you're not getting left behind
you're you're still way ahead of the majority of people you might be behind some people on this app
or people that you follow here but um it doesn't really matter if you're behind though because
you still have to have good ideas like you can know how to use the entire software
but you have to know what you want to build or know why something should exist because like a
lot of these vibe coded apps you'll notice they're not trying to make money or grow users they're
trying to basically sell courses because you know you could code the greatest app in the world but
you still have to sell it you still need people to believe in it.
You still need to address a pain point.
There's still a big human need in between developing the app and selling the app.
And a lot of people fail on the marketing, the distribution,
the understanding, the needs in the marketplace,
actually running a business, scaling.
There's just a lot of... You can use VibeCode to,
you want to have a VibeCode software to make you an app?
Okay, now you have to sell it.
Now you have to get it listed on the App Store.
You have to get reviews.
You have to make YouTube videos.
Maybe there's a creator network you have to work with.
Oh, now you have competition.
Oh, you don't know how to use AWS for scaling your backend?
Oh, you know, like there's just levels to this game.
And you're early because majority of vibe-coded apps are not,
you know, they're not going anywhere.
Yep. Great call. Taste still matters.
Like, yeah, I don't like the word taste. I don't like the word taste I don't
like the word text what's your go-to word how a better word vertical
knowledge okay because like it's not just taste it's like not like oh this
app looks pretty or oh I can make a video like there is a level of knowledge
you need to accrue to be able to maintain and launch apps successfully
that you either understand innately
from being on the internet for a long time
or you have to spend hundreds of hours
learning how to do it.
There's no amount of vibe coding
that will do this for you
because if it did,
then this would already be a dead market.
And it's not.
Nope, I agree. But you got to start. You got to start somewhere. Start with whether it's the anthropic courses, whether it's a YouTube video.
We get a couple suggestions. Payne says Nick Sarav, S-A-R-A-E-V. It has great in-depth videos.
And then yes, someone recommended Tina Huang here on this show
previously. I've watched a couple of her videos as well. Yeah, pretty good videos for beginning.
There's a lot of information out there. If you really, really want to go subscribe to
NFT God's exclusive thread that I'm sure he'll be dropping today to each their own. I won't be doing that, but there's a lot of great information out there, a lot of great spots to learn. And like I said,
follow up with Claude or ChatGPT if you're not understanding, or Grok or Gemini. They're all
really good at giving you better understandings of things. It's become...
I'm trying to think how I can land this plane without getting emotional. My dad,
my stepdad, who was my dad, I had two dads as a kid. I was very fortunate. He passed away
a year and a half ago. He was always my, he was an engineer by trade. He built dams and watersheds for a living. He was
a engineer for USDA for 40 years. Um, but one of the top engineers in the state of Ohio and anytime
there'd be like a big flood or something, he was, he'd fly out and be the, the, you know, the fixer.
And, um, he also built the home I grew up in, like just extremely talented engineer and just very handy,
like insanely handy. So whether if I needed, like if I was changing the oil in my car for the first
time myself or anything, he would always be my, how do I do this? I'd send him a text or picture
or FaceTiming. I can't remember a time where he didn't know the answer to something like
handyman related. Well, he's not my life anymore. They say he passed away about a year and a half
ago. I don't have that. I'm sure there's people in my life. I could, my brother who,
that guy is half brother. He's my brother, but his, was his biological dad. He's also an engineer. He builds roads and bridges and stuff.
He's also insanely handy.
When I was inside playing video games,
my younger brother was outside
fixing stuff with my dad, our dad.
So I could call him and ask him.
I just, and I will occasionally,
but not exaggerating,
my go-to now, if I get stuck on something,
it's, I immediately pull, it was
ChatGPT, now it's Claude, and it's, it hasn't done me wrong yet. Like, this is going to be,
sounds silly, but toilet seat was loose. It was, it was one where I couldn't, it was a newer one,
and I couldn't, like, you can't reach under to, to tighten the, the screws like you could in some
old ones. It's like up flush against the wall, And I don't know, maybe someday I'll take a picture on Monday,
wrapping this up, trying to land this plane. I took a picture of the toilet and asked Claude,
how do I, how do I tighten the lid? I can't access it. And immediately knew the answer.
There was like a little button you had to push, unlocked it, and it popped right off. And it was
super simple, but I didn't, I didn't know. I, you know, and so previously I would have to go, go to the computer and Google something and
maybe find a YouTube video on it and then spend five minutes, watch a YouTube video. And now it's
like, like the ability, not just to learn new stuff or troubleshoot things, everything except
for a roadcaster and how you operate spaces and YouTube streaming at the same time. That's about
the only thing that Claude hasn't mastered yet, But most other things you can learn in real time. And it's also very good at,
you can go back and forth. It's not just whereas YouTube videos and tutorials can be great.
Sometimes that doesn't work for everyone. Sometimes it doesn't just click right away
and you need another, you need a follow-up question. That's where I think this idea of
AI education and how it's going to push collective intelligence forward, not just forget AGI, forget how smart the robots are.
I believe humanity as a whole, like the bar is going to raise at every level.
The super intelligent people are going to become even smarter, even more intelligent.
The people who maybe previously struggled and didn't have access to education.
Well, it's becoming democratized. Education is going to be available. I mean, I would say for
20 bucks a month, but it really is. A lot of the stuff is on the free version of these apps.
Just don't be shy. Get in there, play around, have some fun this weekend. We'll be back next
week. I really enjoyed the conversation today. We hit on a lot of things from crypto thefts to
the fight of the penguins to wherever this market is going
to. We were talking an anthropic apology and risk rolled into anthropic courses, kind of like the,
you know, original penguin sued Pudgy Penguin, and it just led to a boycott of original penguin
and people buying more Pudgy Penguins. I kid, it's a joke. But I am excited to see what comes of ZEAT.
I'm going to check out Amigo. Thank you for those,
everyone who dropped the invite codes there in the chat.
And I do hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.
If anyone's in the Cincinnati area,
I've got a busy weekend.
I'm going to spend most of the time with my mother,
but I will chance.
I could do a quick coffee.
I got to get a workout in. So if anyone knows a good gym
in Cincinnati, I've got to continue my 75 hard. I got to get two workouts in on Saturday and Sunday
will be a challenge on the road, but we will do it. Or if you're not into meeting up for a coffee,
to meet up for a coffee. Let me know when I need to turn on the long for ETH down to 1980 now.
A little bit of a bounce. Maybe bottoms in, I don't know. But going to be watching this and
probably get a trade in before the day is said and done. We'll be back Monday, 8 a.m. Eastern
time. Jesus, Jonah, Machiavelli, Joey, everyone who jumped up on stage and shared today. Appreciate you.
Appreciate everyone in the chat.
Appreciate those big tips.
DORT, leader in the clubhouse with the 1100, 1111.
Pingu, greatly appreciated on the fight of the Penguin Day.
Beepic, appreciate you.
Crypto King, thanks so much.
Really, really generous.
I guess because Tukas keeps sending me God token over there, I should. Crypto King, thanks so much. Really, really generous. I guess because
Tucus keeps sending me God token over there, I should probably go see what that's all about.
And then Ice Age sent me 3MLP. Appreciate all that. Appreciate you all for being here.
And I hope you all have a wonderful, wonderful weekend, everyone. Thank you.
