Let's kick it, check. Wait, one second. Check. Okay, works. Perfect. Let's kick it, Charlie. Thank you. Yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, what up, what up, good morning, good morning, GM, GM.
What day are we, Tuesday, January 27th, 2025, 6, 2026, sorry, look at that, another beautiful
day to have a beautiful day, I got my co-host in the house.
Tyler, good morning. How are you doing today?
I'm good. There's some life back in the crypto market, it seems.
We've got a couple big movers overnight, even with crypto majors flat.
Just a few movers and then the trenches heating up seems to have re-energized CT a little bit
and I am here for it. There's a lot of good stuff going on despite this little
chop at quite a low price on the majors. There is a lot of good stuff happening. And we'd love to see that.
Definitely a lot of runners.
maybe it was buggy at first.
It tends to happen at the beginning of the show.
because that has been the main call
for quite some time now, which has seemingly done quite well.
Then we will go through today's news or some stuff that we couldn't cover yesterday.
We'll go over it today. We have to. I mean, this Zach Kings BT thing is crazy.
And then we'll be joining a special guest today, continuing on the guest train that we've had since the start of the year,
Adam Weitzman, you know, one of the last men standing buying all these NFTs. And we want to
get into why and the how of that, right? We want to talk to him about his conviction. We want to
talk to him about his reasoning. Obviously, he's a super nice guy. And so I'm really curious about
his take in general, right? And obviously he runs his own project, right?
I think he's got bigger fish to fry,
He did acquire heavy metal
So he does also have skin in the game
So I'm very curious to get into
and his takes on the NFT market, right?
And then at the end of the show,
as usual, like we do every day,
we will give some money away
to one lucky winner on Yeet.
Sign up to yeet.com using the code FOMOHOUR for a chance to win Monday to Friday.
So you can win five days a week.
And we've given quite a lot here.
About $2.5 million in the last few years.
So make sure you do that.
With that being said, Tyler, let's just go ahead straight to you.
For daily NFT and crypto analysis.
Crypto majors are a little flat here this morning.
We've got Bitcoin down 0.3%, 87.6.
So majors are chopping. But we've got some big alt-movers.
Hyperliquid, Hype token up 20%, 27.50.
And Pump also up 15% back to 0.003 and 3 billion.
So huge moves on those tokens.
So huge moves on those tokens.
From a headlines perspective, and I'll let Mando get into more of the macro market when he joins.
But Senate Ag Committee, they delayed the vote on the crypto market structure bill.
So that's going to keep getting kicked.
Coinbase is following Ethereum and setting up a new advisory board to address quantum risk.
So another big player in crypto calling out the quantum risk there.
In AI, this is so important.
We got to talk about it a little bit.
Anthropic CEO Dario Amadei warned in an essay yesterday that AI development is accelerating faster than society's ability to control it.
Predicts AGI in one to two years and that 50% white-collar jobs will be gone in one to five years.
So a fairly stark warning there from the Anthropic CEO.
Tether, they added more gold.
Their gold token, ZaoT, faster than USDT in Q4.
I think they added like $4.4 billion in gold.
So Tether has been a huge gold acquire over the past few months. Their gold was 38%. I think they had like $4.4 billion in gold.
So Tether has been a huge gold acquire over the past few months.
We talked about yesterday's strategy that they bought $267 million.
We have Tom Lee's numbers there in now.
They purchased another $116 million.
That was their largest buy so far of 2026.
Shout out to the ETH ETFs. Also $117 million in inflows yesterday.
Bitcoin only had 117 million inflows yesterday Bitcoin only had 7 million so massive outperformance on the day
for ETH from an inflow perspective
was it more of a quiet day for token
Polymarket reported their highest volume month ever
they shared they have 118 million dollars
committed in what they're calling
the first encrypted ICO on Ethereum.
So that was a pretty big ICO there from Zama.
And shout out to our friends over at Rec Drinks.
Sold out their X Games collab in 60 seconds.
One of the fastest sellouts they've ever had.
Meme majors are mixed, but boy, the trenches are heating up.
This new copper inu token up to 300X.
Hit $16 million, less than 24 hours of trading.
He's got some support control, and I'm sure we'll talk about it.
White whales back up 40%.
So the trenches are hotter.
I saw pump fund $1.5 million in revenue yesterday.
They're highest in several months,
which is also perhaps reflected
NFT's quiet day except Wolfgang
announced this next chapter.
Oh, I guess we got some negative news.
they shut down their project.
I saw the commentary around that. People said,
oh, another one. Who else is?
Well, everyone's been shutting down, dude.
Is there more than three companies in NFTs?
Just talking cumulatively. No other
Me too, I was thinking like, because that's
actually the first thing I told myself, which
kind of sucks because I like those guys.
are left from Tony Wimonding?
That are actually actively,
not just existing on chain,
like actively employing people
but I think if you actually
sat down and looked at it's
probably more there's probably more smaller projects yeah small ones um yeah yeah that's
that sucks that's because i mean i guess it is i don't know how much it costs to maintain a game
but it can't be cheap so it's uh it is pretty hard anyway so let's go through the markets i
mean we do we do have mando now uh in uh there's two bomgia um honestly nothing new in the hood Mando now in this tube on Gia.
Honestly, nothing new in the hood, guys,
besides Hyperliquid going up like 30% off the bottom,
which we perfectly called on the show again.
You and I on Wrecked Vision,
Mando pretty much bottomed the shit out of that, by the way.
But on here, we've been talking about it for a minute.
Price follows narrative, right?
So, I did okay from this.
I mean, you remember me buying it in the hotel room.
But I think it deserves a bounce. I don't think it's going to 40. i think it deserves a bounce i don't think it's going to 40 i think it deserves a bounce um i think there's a good chance it goes to like 30 plus here yeah but uh
yeah it's quite an attractive looking chart there isn't it yeah that was really good bottom here in
if you look at the statistics alone,
you tend to share this stuff
with maybe crypto mechanics.
This makes the whole hyperliquid thing
even more bullish in my eyes.
It's becoming this home of all finance
I don't want to sound like a broken record,
but it's pretty crazy, right?
One and a half billion dollars involved yesterday.
That's nothing compared to what they could do.
Yeah, the infrastructure is clearly working.
The tokenization stuff is clearly working.
I think it's interesting to see the most
I saw your tweet yesterday
which is the most traded tickers
a lot of it now is just not
this is kind of what my thesis slightly is here
that I like the apps being built on crypto
and hyperliquid is probably one of the strongest
ones, but the actual L1s, I think I'm starting to see a bit of, yeah, just challenging reason
Yeah. Silver alone yesterday did $1.15 billion of volume on Hyperliquid.
We discovered a loan yesterday that $1.15 billion of volume on Hyperliquid.
So it's just nuts, right?
So I think it's a really good spot right now for the PubDex,
given they were absolutely smashed.
And in particular Hyperliquid, because it seems like it's still winning the fight here.
I do think you can see a pump here in Aster, maybe lighter even.
Pay attention to those in terms of catch-up trades if Hyperliquid starts moving.
But for now, I'm just sticking to hype.
Yeah, hype, Google, goldled my ones right now
in a little copper are you in the copper trade
I'm dabbling in a bit of copper
copper or copper inu because like Tyler's
Tyler called this one good too
yesterday in the chat he sent this to us
I mean we thought we were a little late
I don't have any but he called it sent it at like 5 million
or something it's not bad
it's got like a hymn behind it
it's the SPX of medals boys believe in something It's got like a hymn behind it, doesn't it?
It's the SPX of metals, boys.
Since you just went there.
So Kobe started it, right?
So Kobe made a post, like a bullish metal post.
If you're buying copper, you don't have to worry about being PVP'd to death.
There's no copper enu so of course
degen spun up a copper enu token uh it was just hanging out low and then him decided he was gonna
supply control it bought like 12 wow 5 million um i i saw it there i saw starting to catch
traction on the timeline a few folks calling it p PVE. So I thought markets are hot.
Why not take a flyer on the hot coin of the day?
And it has the dog tie in as well.
And crypto means that they love dog tokens.
the image actually is kind of good.
Like a little copper dog.
everyone knows what this is and how it's likely to end. But 37 million in volume. Like there's some there's some real action now. It's crazy how a switch flipped and we went from just really weak action to now that there's there's some volume coming through.
Just really weak actions.
Now there's some volume coming through.
Pump's making $1.5 million in revenue.
All the metrics are up and to the right again.
I didn't put this together.
I wonder how much of this is the winter storm.
So the past five days, everyone in the U.S. has just been locked inside.
There's another storm coming this weekend.
And there's this new bat virus that they discovered out in India or something.
Like you're actually from a bat.
Aiden Ross on stream calling for a new quarantine on the way.
On another note, Penguin did $150 million of volume yesterday.
Like you're talking about memes,
like on the similar note that you're talking about.
Fuck, I was looking at it yesterday
which is why I have this little stupid line drawn on it.
Because I broke out of it.
It's chilling at 88 million guys
doing $30 million of volume on chain.
You're looking at $150 million of volume off chain.
And then White Whale bounced 2x from the lows doing a lot of volume on chain. You're looking at $150 million of volume off chain. And then White Whale bounced 2x from the lows,
doing a lot of volume as well.
Like 2026 so far started pretty strongly for memes.
Like this volume is significant.
And the pump fund numbers speak for themselves.
Like what do we think, boys?
think boys are we are we just one bitcoin bounce away from for armageddon or are we just you know
Are we just one Bitcoin bounce away from Armageddon?
consuming a lot of hopium here um yeah i mean do we think any of these coins are gonna be worth
anything in a month i don't know i feel like we're just playing the crash game with these but I do think they can go higher
I just feel like a lot of people are scouting
everyone's back there but my chats are back to
even when Bitcoin goes sideways in these sort of periods
people are still here to gamble
they're kind of happy to look for moves like this.
I mean, established means have been crushed.
So it feels like it's only new ones that are like, where's Farcoin now?
It's probably sub-300 million market cap, right?
Wow, it's just not bouncing again.
Thank you. Yeah, this is not, I mean, I don. Wow, it's just not bouncing again.
Yeah, this is not, I mean,
I don't have this meme coin season, it's just gambling season. Wow, this is not
who's playing the game right now is like, oh, I want to buy
I think more people are playing
than they were. I think a lot of folks
who even traditionally played in 2024
or 2025 and kind of stepped away
like this is... They wanted to see
some more action, I think.
White Whale going to 200,
in a weekend, 150, I think.
effect, but kind of showed it could happen again.
excited. So I have a question
for you, and then of course, I'm sure there's a lot of stuff
we can talk about that you got on the
schedule, but that's concerning
macros, because I don't think we need to spend too much time
on Bitcoin needs and all that stuff, and we know what's going on
I'm seeing more and more takes on how the fact that the timeline is max bearish crypto in general, everyone's trading metals,
et cetera, could be somewhat of a bottom. And a lot of people seem to think that there's
going to be a blow off on metals. And you saw that huge dip on silver yesterday.
It looked like a blow-off top to me.
I'm not sure where it is today.
Do we think that's going to rotate into it?
I mean, I was talking about this yesterday.
I was like, I think it's going to happen.
I'm just not, I don't have a read on when.
Do we think that happens at some point?
We saw yesterday when gold dipped.
We didn't really see that much of a move in crypto.
but I don't think that many people buying silver
are rotating into Bitcoin, let's put it that way.
I think that that is a slightly separate trade,
which could have its own blow off top.
There's a few people saying,
hey, once that blows off top, we'll have a rotation.
I mean, if we don't see that rotation,
I think it's a real worry, right?
And yesterday we saw it and we saw some strength,
but Bitcoin still was around 88K for most of the day,
even when Bitcoin nukes, even when gold nukes.
So I'm wary of buying into that right now.
What do you think, Tyler?
I think silver and copper and some of these metals
And they're AI trade adjacent
beyond just like store value.
Gold historically, gold and Bitcoin have gone in phases.
One will pump and then it'll cool off and the other will.
But the gold trade also feels a little different in this go around.
It's nation states driving a lot of the price action.
It's hard to get a read on that.
So just so you guys understand where I'm coming from here
I'm going to put up a chart for you guys
before blowing off to $103
It then erased, so that dip
erased the total market cap of both Ethereum and BNB put together.
This is just how big these metals are.
I don't think everybody realizes how big this is.
It's like one and a half Ethereum total erased in five minutes.
Yeah, Bitcoin at Silver's market cap was $325K yesterday. total erased in five minutes. Yeah.
Bitcoin at Silver's market cap was
That's crazy. I like that new thing.
You heard that one? Tyler's been
price of Bitcoin at Silver's market cap lately.
What could go wrong? That's his new thing.
Like, this rally in metals
does make me think it's...
It's a mixture of meme metals
this China slash Asia move
to reducing dollar exposure.
And there's a lot of things
coming together for it at the moment.
I don't think it's the end.
I know KBM was calling for a top
Eventually KBM's going to be right.
Bernie's saying fuck metals.
So that's the most important thing.
Bernie who caught the hype trade.
One last thing then we're going to move on.
I do want to talk about what you said about Zach's BTN.
That story was crazy, Tyler.
15 of them are financialized,
tradable via futures or ETFs.
million cryptocurrencies tracked by coin market
I thought that was an interesting take here.
metals. You can just go down.
I think hyperliquid should start
adding more metals and just have a metals
little thing. You'll have to have perps, bot, crypto, TreadFi, HIP3, etc. It's usually like a metals like you know new little thing you have that perp spot crypto
it's usually like a metal section
what do they got they've got
gold silver copper what else do we have on here
are those the only metals yeah
oh yeah you maybe are palladium right
you're right so study the elements you know I'm on here. Oh, they do? Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. You made me about Palladium, right?
So study the elements, you know?
Study the elements and then you may find the next trade here, it seems.
So there's a lot of stuff going on here that's very interesting.
It's already taking a lot of the time. But anyways, Tyler, we have to go through this story.
We didn't cover it yesterday.
That shit is out of control.
Yeah, one of the crazier stories in institutional crypto right now.
So this John DeGuita, he stole $40 million from the U.S. government,
government specifically from their seizure address the kicker is his dad owns the company that has
specifically from their seizure address.
the it contract with the u.s government to safeguard these assets so somehow his son
got access to the funds and stole them and ran off and i think he was even like flaunting the wealth online a bit.
Just an insane story here.
And ZachXPT is the one who exposed it.
Probably not the sharp thing to do to publicly flex the money you stole from the US government.
So do you know how they got it?
You kind of touched on that.
So he pretty much got away with it.
He's linked to like a wallet.
I think they're saying 90 mil addressed directly tied to $90 million plus a suspected theft from the US government 2024, right?
So he was getting called out on Telegram and people were calling him poor.
And that got to his head.
And so he decided to flex a $23 million wallet.
And turns out the wallet was tied to the stolen funds from the U.S. government itself.
Like this is the most absurd thing.
Like this is the most – never let ego get in the way of that.
So this guy was pretty much chilling with the stolen funds.
Not that he wouldn't have gotten caught one day.
Clearly he is stupid enough to do that.
But he was, he couldn't stand the fact that people on Telegram were calling him poor.
And therefore he flaunted a wallet.
And that's what happened.
I mean, this is insane guys.
What happens to his dad? Do you guys think like dad gets arrested? that's what happened. I mean, this is insane guys. I think they got it. Um,
Do you guys think like dad gets arrested?
Like we don't even know how he got to this funds yet, but
was it just pure negligence?
how did the kid get access to this?
And they're not nowhere to be found, by the way.
So he began trolling people online to flex his money,
which is absolutely insane.
And he sent himself money. And did you guys see
of stolen government funds
This Maywin story of the year
It's going to be up there
If you scroll through the thread John has negative
This is how he's been flexing
It's showing up for me maybe it's not
Maybe I'm on the wrong tweet
So it's negative for you. Maybe I'm on the wrong tweet. Yeah, I'll check it out.
So it's negative upside, you're saying.
There it is. He's flexing watches.
This is exactly what you'd expect from someone who just stole $40 million.
I have a question because I really like watches.
What does every criminal buy a skeleton AP?
Because I really like those. I love
APs. I love the skeleton one. I see
Adam Weissman laughing in the studio.
And I really, really like this model,
model for my personal collection one day.
But every single scammer that gets caught
Rooting it for the rest of us.
I'm just now noticing that the same guy,
he's wearing two watches too.
I thought that was two people.
And they're both skeleton APs.
One with the rainbow dial.
It's always the same guys, man.
Crum heart boots, crum heart everything.
Anyways, anything else before we go into our special guest of the day?
Here, let's bring up Adam here.
I'm sure you watch guy yourself, you know? I'm sure you're a watch guy yourself, you know.
I'm sure you enjoy the nicer things of life.
But, like, why do we all have to ruin it for us, man?
Good, thanks. Good to be here.
It's good to have you, Adam.
Listen, Adam, you've been, i mean first of all you're one
of our guests that got the most engagement on retweeting the show so you must be doing something
right on twitter um all of our engagement here is going to shits and yours is going up only so
maybe i need to get back to buy nfts uh to do that uh but there's a lot of stuff we want to
talk to you about adam uh obviously you know you and i chatted last week we said yo come on the show
you know kind of want to get into you know a little Obviously, you and I chatted last week. We said, yo, come on the show. Kind of want to get into
a little bit of your background though.
You can find that online. We started
a video in the School of Hard Knocks. It was fire.
And then want to get into
your thesis overall, NFTs,
And obviously, we've got a lot of friends in common that
spoke highly of you like Benny,
the crazy old red beard. So that's awesome
to have you, Adam. Yeah, Benny's the great. Benny's the way.
He's taught me a lot of stuff. He's taught me. He learned a lot from that guy.
I'm sure. I'm sure. He's really good at this stuff. But first, Adam, maybe for the people
who may not be aware, listeners of our show, maybe a quick little background on yourself,
like who Adam Weitzman is.
It's not that exciting, but I run an industrial-based company
in the West Village in Soho.
I just got into this space
maybe, I'd say, four years ago.
Somebody bought me a birthday present,
a Meebit for my birthday.
They said it looked like me.
It's like stuff me bit and
uh and then i just was like i'm in upstate new york in the winters and sometimes there's not a
lot to do here so i just started researching it and you know just really got it was the communities
that really like really drew me into this so that's uh it was pretty odd way to start but
it was just a gift from a good friend on my birthday.
Wow. Look at that. That is a good friend. Me bits back in 2021 too.
Those were not cheap. So that was a great gift.
Those were the days, man. Okay. So I love this.
This is how you got onboarded into NFT. Someone gives you a me bit,
you start looking into it and you get drawn into it. But question for you mean you're quite a successful guy adam you know and my question is like what
made someone like you want to get into this like you you you obviously got the bug and and i want
to get into what kept you here today but what what in this industry in the nfc specific really got
you like you know um into that i mean a lot of it's just the friends i specific really got you like, you know, um, into that.
I mean, a lot of it is just the friends I've met.
I made like some of the most incredible friends on here.
Benny you're saying just got Eli who's been, you know, helps me secure a lot of
stuff, my friend Nick from Australia that I don't even know how to use a wallet or
even how to bid on anything at open C.
So I got to call my friends to do the bidding for me.
So a lot of my friends, uh, I'll be texting them at two in the morning, waking them up, and they'll throw in bids for me.
So it's just a community of, I met, like, the really most amazing people from around the world.
I'm, like, a socially awkward guy, to be honest with you.
Like, I'm not really good at, like, being on this kind of thing.
I'm, like, Instagram doesn't tell the real story.
You know, the real story you know
the real story is i'm like a really shy person but this is a great way of being able to meet people
talk to people and just learn a lot you know i'm learning about this space every day i'm definitely
no expert on nfts or tokens or anything like that i just how to... I think my only gift
is I just can bring people together.
And that's what I'm trying to do in this space.
That's my whole plan for this space
is to kind of head in that Braveheart movie,
like bringing the clans together.
That's what we need to do
to have this have worldwide acceptance.
That's what NFTs have done. The NFT
communities from the 2021 era,
has that been matched since?
The meme coin communities aren't
the same. They're much more fleeting.
Even the ones that have stayed,
they're not coming together
for events in New York City
like NFT and NYC put on for
a few years. That definitely has been
have you gone down to digital art rabbit hole or even mostly been kind of
even got it tattooed on my arm,
I just got my first X copy with the
help of Eli in Redbeard. You know, those guys helped me find one from a really great collector
out in Vegas that decided to, you know, move on with it. But yeah, I'm starting with the digital
art. I really love the digital art, but two different things. Like I keep those separate from the PFP stuff is different for me.
Can you cast you how, like, what's the, obviously I have,
we all have our own like visions of that, but like, what's the, how do you,
how do you make the separation?
Like why, why do you, you know, in a sense, like how do you.
I'm enjoying the community of like X, you know, X copy community.
It's just a different type of community.
I think I love the, I don't know what you call PFP.
Like, I love that just because, um, I don't want to just do like,
even though I'm a big Yuga fan, like I'm, I'm always going to be a Yuga fan.
That's why I always wear this.
Definitely Yuga to the end.
Those guys were the ones that treated me amazing from day one.
They never asked me for anything.
Garga, Wiley, Juan, PB Man, all those guys are like amazing people.
And Yuga's, you know, it's a tough space, but I know they're trying really hard to do good stuff.
I like getting into some of the communities that I've just been doing that recently,
don't get a lot of attention, but I feel really could use attention.
So I'm not just posting Pudgies, you know, totally huge Pudgies fan.
But like this one last night, this generally undead group, like they've been like, actually this was in their treasury and I worked with like the whole community.
It was like, the community was like picking out one.
They're like, oh, this one is...
It was really an amazing thing.
We're doing this at three in the morning,
The bad thing about NFT space
I'm sleeping like one hour.
It's totally rabbit hole, degenerate,
This is taking me back to 2021.
You're taking me back. I wanted to get, I'm like, oh, my daughter.
I wanted to get my daughters involved.
I got three young daughters.
So the one right there, I had my daughters pick out.
It wasn't anything like crazy expensive, but it just resonated with them.
So that was a cool time because I'm working all the time,
so I don't get to see my kids as much as I'd like.
So that was a really fun thing doing that.
The great thing is this is right there.
If you stop right there, that's one of my favorites.
I don't really know anything about these guys, but I love the artwork.
I really love the artwork.
And this was not expensive at all.
These things, the price point of these is the entry level of these guys.
And don't forget when I'm hyping something,
I'm never going to sell anything.
I'm going to donate this out to the MoMA or something like that down the road.
when I'm hyping something or posting the floor price,
I don't look at that stuff.
I just want to support these communities,
give them a little more exposure.
You know, my Twitter account is pretty new. Well, it's not that new, but I mean, I just started to
be more active on Twitter. So I just want to like support, you know, for every one big one,
like I got something really cool from Animoca last night at like four in the morning. I got
one of their cool ones from their treasury,
which I'm going to post later today.
I don't want to just do like the big name ones.
I want to like do a big name one,
maybe do a cool pudgy one, support Luca,
I'm actually in the communities myself.
I'm on the, they have discord,
but they also have these like group texts on X,
you know, somewhere in the group text. The discord thing is too confusing for me so it's a lot it's a lot of conversations to manage
uh which i'm sure you're starting to see you know one question we have in the chat and i think this
is a pretty common one like a lot of folks like the consensus take nfts are going to zero aren't
nfts going to zero what's the plan so i what, I think you kind of just alluded to it a little bit, Adam.
Yeah, I want to bring all these guys together.
I want to bring everybody together for like,
everybody's going to be doing their independent stuff,
I think unity is really important.
I think that's hurt the space a little,
but I really see in the past month or two,
the sentiment getting better. Even some of my friends that have never looked at an NFT in their whole life are they're just like really working class guys. I'm in a Wego, New York right now.
It's 4,000 people, you know,
and now they're buying something.
You can get some entries of the stuff,
you know, a hundred bucks, 80 bucks,
the same price as going out to a movie
and they get to belong to this great community
It's really the bargain of all,
is to be able to join a community,
be respected by the community.
And 90% of these communities,
the people are really amazing
I was on one this morning,
and it was somebody's birthday.
are wishing them happy birthday.
The Good Vibes Club guys.
They're doing good, yeah.
They're like that happy all the time.
I woke up this morning from the two brothers
And they're walking the walk.
I mean, that guy must be online 24 hours a day.
I don't think I ever sleeps.
We might need to appoint you as the
unofficial or official spokesman
of the NFT space. I agree.
Nah, I'm a little rough for that.
No, I'll help out. I'll be the assistant
whoever you guys pick. If you pick somebody,
I'll be their personal assistant.
Nah, dude, you gotta be Disciples Gary Vee, bro.
We can help with that, Adam. You've been a great face for that. I think what's cool is that there's still someone like we gotta we gotta we gotta we gotta we gotta we gotta make you you know we will help we can
help with that adam you've been a great like face for that i think what's cool is that there's still
someone doing that i saw a clip of luca i think you co-tweeted it too saying like i think he was
shooting the shit with spencer right and they were talking about how like we need more atoms in the
space and in 2021 um there was a lot of uh atoms in the space and it's true right 2021 was essentially
like a lot of people with with quite a bit it's true, right? 2021 was essentially like a lot of people
with quite a bit of money.
Some of them, you know, the big crypto whales,
you know, because there was quite a big rise
in crypto prices, you know, during COVID.
And a lot of people from the art world, et cetera, came in.
Do you think that's something that will happen?
Like the friends you hang out with,
the people that you're around,
the people you do business with right that have this kind of of
money are able to afford just buying the nfts they want without giving shit or without the intention
of selling it to people how do you think like do you think there's gonna be another wave of that
yeah i do but i think it'll be a little slower i don't think it's just gonna be people buying
like these crazy things, crazy
one-on-ones. I think some of my friends are
dipping in slow, getting in the communities.
They definitely have the firepower
to buy something really crazy.
knows a lot of people. Gary Vee is a really good
friend of mine. I supported his collection
really great. Every time i see him out
you know everybody's talking other stuff business stuff we're talking nfts in the corner so like
he's been a really great guy and he's like that guy's like crazy energetic and got a great team
there and uh i'd love to do a project with him or help him on one of his projects uh
but he's been a really true and trusted friend to me, Gary has
and taught me a lot of stuff, a guy's wicked smart
I'd love to hear a bit about Heavy Metal
because I know you've come in and kind of
taken ownership of that as well, like I think
kind of fun, being a founder sometimes
sleepless nights and it's difficult
to manage a community, like how are you coming in and doing that
and managing a community alongside that?
I mean, we're having a lot of fun with it.
The brains behind that is my partner, Gabriel.
Gabriel's like a big gamer guy.
I met him a couple years back, so I approached him.
I'm like, hey, he's really wicked smart
and very loyal to me and we have a great friendship, even though we're totally opposite people.
We don't have one thing in common, that guy and I, but we are a great team.
So I'm the finance end, you know, but he's just done everything very respected.
And this collection, I mean, we're putting a lot of money in this collection.
He and I have never taken a dollar out.
We're never going to like, we're not selling anything.
Like the floor, I guess whatever you call it, the floor is way up and it's doing really well.
And people are engaged, but he should get the credit.
I just like write the checks, but he's very careful spending money.
He can be tough too, but he knows what people need. We disagree a lot
too. On the token thing where we have a little token strategy thing, we've been going back and
forth on that. But I just don't ever want to do anything that's going to hurt the community.
I'm a long-term guy. So since I'm never going to monetize heavy metals for myself,
it's just a project that I felt, you know, Yuga started it.
Garga should get the credit because he did the amazing beginning artwork,
you know, and then Garga put a lot of money in this.
And I see, you know, and then it went to Far Away,
like the Far Away guys, but they weren't going to do anything with it.
You know, I was sitting there dead um so i'm glad we got it and and gabe's done it gabe's done a great job and we have a lot of
fun stuff that's going to be planned for that we're gonna do events and uh we're gonna do some
crazy events you know whoops do some really fun stuff he's doing some marketplace thing now that's
pretty cool um but again i get a lot of the credit, but that credit
shouldn't go to me. That kid's doing all the work. He runs everything by me really respectfully,
and he's young, but he's the brains behind that. So everybody should give him the credit.
I'm just so conservative about my reputation and about the community because I was in prison
25 years ago, so I can't afford to have any mistakes in my life uh you know i'm a
convicted felon that was served you know time in federal prison in my 20s i'm in my 50s now
so i gotta be extra careful when you do so he's not allowed to do anything that's even remotely
you know he's not he's not allowed to sell his stuff he's not allowed to hold any like
if we do the token thing he's not allowed to hold his stuff. He's not allowed to hold any, like, if we do the token thing, he's not allowed to hold any tokens, nothing.
Like, we will hold zero tokens ourselves.
So there'll be never no secret wallets, no bullshit stuff.
Everything has to be going.
Are you going to do a game, though?
Is it going to go back to making a game,
or is it more going to be a community?
He doesn't want to do a game because he's like,
Adam, I don't want to spend all your money on a game that,
how do we know all these people are going to play?
I think we see people spend a ton of money,
and then you just go into the game, there's 30, 40 people in there.
But I want something to do, so I kind of want him to do a game.
I think he'll do the game.
I really think he'll do the game.
But even last night, I don't even know what time he called me.
I was talking to him and he's just like, I think this is real. I don't know if I was dreaming this or not, but we were fighting about the game thing.
I was like, hey, let's do a fun game. He's like, oh, I don't want to spend your three, four hundred thousand dollars of your money.
Which is nice. Most people wouldn't care, but he cares about spending the money.
And he's like, I just don't know if enough people will play it.
So that stuff, that's how his and I dialogue go back and forth,
And it's been really fun to do this project.
And this will be the first of other projects that we'll do.
But I'm never going to monetize any of this stuff because that's why some of these people sell me these things
out of their treasuries is because I say, unless something happens and I die and my kids have to sell someday, that's one thing.
But in my lifetime, I'm never going to pump up any of the things I have or monetize or whatever.
I don't know if these things are going to go up or down.
Heavy metals, people ask me, should I invest?
I said, only invest if you're going to have a lot of fun with it.
Only invest if you're going to have a lot of fun with it.
Like if people said, oh, if we do this token thing,
if people ask me about the token,
I'm going to do the Elon Musk thing and say, don't buy the token.
What was it about Yuga that kind of made that really drew you in?
And can you tell us a little bit more about the backstory from how you,
how you kind of got to heavy metal?
We talked about how you're operating it, but.
Yeah. I mean, I don't remember the whole heavy metal thing,
but I was like, I got to meet Garga.
I got to meet Wiley, you know, and then Garga and I made a really great friendship.
I trust this guy. I really do.
I mean, they're running a big company.
Like that's a big company.
That's a big ship this year.
And I don't agree with everything that Yuga does.
Like I'm not like somebody that's like hype it up.
I think they've made some mistakes,
but I know their heart in this space is really good.
And I know Gargis heart is like really good.
they got this guy like so talented,
so creative, like blows your mind. Like this is how Yuga is. is like really good and their whole team you know figgy they got this guy like so talented so
creative like blows your mind like this is how you guys like i was questioning one thing and then
figgy's like you know what it's one thing that we talk about this tomorrow i'm gonna fly to upstate
new york he flew from california the next day to upstate new york there's no direct flight like
you oh definitely not just to show me it on his laptop when he was working on it and to me that that's real and that's
what i love and uh and that's why you know i got invested in the other deeds you know i bought a
lot of i think half their treasury of other deeds you also bought a lot of apecoin right
where is that um the the apecoin thing um i'm a big supporter i'm a supporter of whatever they do. Uh, but I wouldn't say I'm a gigantic, uh,
investor in ApeCoin. Uh, I just support whatever they do. And it's part of the port, it's part
of the portfolio. That Ape you got as a PFP, correct me if I'm wrong, is that the one you
got at this charity event? Yeah, the one, I think it was the guy from, uh, what was his name? I was
there. I was at the event and you were a table with my friend Joe from loud luxury,
And, and, uh, it was, and they were giving an award to SBF and one to Ivan
And it's the one time I met SBF and I was sitting with a bunch of people.
It was me and Danny C phrase.
And that was the first time I heard your name. Cause there was a auction and it was was me and danny c phrase we were there and that was the first time
i heard your name because there was a auction and it was between you and leshner you guys bid the
ape up to like half a million dollars i'll never forget it was this charity auction right at the
casa cipriani new york that's crazy and i was like yo i was like yo who's that motherfucker
buying a half a million dollar ape for charity and then he was like oh yo this is adam maritz
man guy he's such a chad like my first dj and that's my first encounter with like your name
like who you were and it was a small world too because like seed phrase just put me in touch
with someone and helped me uh secure something like yeah yeah like these are so he's been great
yeah he's great he's but i remember that night that was a good night and that was a really great
charity so yeah it was cool i wanted to remember that night. That was a good night. And that was a really great charity. So yeah,
I wanted to support that charity,
but it was cool that there was something that I actually wanted to bid on.
we're coming on some time.
I don't know if Tyler or Amanda,
you guys did anything else for Adam about the future or whatnot.
I want to know what's your
favorite NFT you've ever bought.
What's your one you bought, your favorite one?
my favorite NFT would have to be
I got from a gift from Garga.
be true. Yeah, because he gave me a gift, Garga
did, of Coda, and I thought that was
really great. I just love
the big project, the other side
works. I know they put a lot of money into that.
That's an important part of the sentiment of what's going to go forward.
So I'm rooting for them for sure.
Have you got the CryptoPunk rabbit hole?
Have you gone down the CryptoPunk rabbit hole?
I have one with a VR, the top hat.
Yeah, if I could get any Crypto Punk, it'd be the one Yuga has in their treasury.
There's an Ape one that's really amazing.
Oh, they have an Ape Punk in their treasury?
That's the one, but they're not going to sell it yet.
I'll just keep picking Garg until he gets weak.
There's a deal to be done at some point.
They have a lot of punks left, right?
I think they kept like 400 of them or something.
Yeah, this one, Ape one they have is really beautiful.
Let's go find that Ape one.
Garg. Come on, dude. Sell them your Ape Punk. Come on, man. okay wait i'm on their wallet let's go find that ape one garga come on dude sell him your ape punk come on man okay so this is their wallet right they have 400 punks i'm
assuming that's theirs where is this ape punk what they have so many punks guys fuck yeah they
have a lot jeez okay zombie um where is it i don't find it can't find it.
Maybe it's another wallet.
They must have another wallet then.
It might be another wallet.
Yeah, I know Eli was showing me it.
That's the one I really like a lot.
Wow, Seed Phrase, you had to bid on it back in July 2017.
It's never changed hands.
Because it was a DevTunk.
It was minted by the Devs because under 1,000 ID.
And it was never, it just changed hands. Oh, it's never been anywhere?
It got minted by, so the first 1000 punks
were minted by Lover Labs themselves or dev punks.
And it only changed hands.
So it never sold ever in its history.
So that's the grail of PFPs for me.
So that'll be, and I want to try to find the last
He's a little dead wallet. So we found him.
He's on the other side of the planet.
I want to put that on the sphere.
I thought it would be cool to open it on the sphere.
I don't think he just did it, so that was...
I thought it would be really cool to do the to open it on the sphere I don't know if I just did it I thought it would be really cool
to do the opening of it on the sphere
which would be pretty hot I think
so it would be good for the space to get some
that would be a really cool moment
we're going to open a mutant
we're going to open a mutant serum on the sphere
that's actually sick Adam I love the crazy ideas Yeah. We're going to open a mutant serum on the sphere before whiff on there. It's going to be crazy.
Adam, I love the crazy ideas.
I love that you accepted to come on the show on short notice.
I mean, we hear about you every other day because of the fact that you're one of the biggest believers in NFT.
So I absolutely love that.
Thank you for coming, man.
And really inspiring story.
Thanks for having me, guys.
Thank you, guys. Thanks. Ciao, Adam. Have a good day. All right. A really inspiring story. Thanks for having me, guys. Nice meeting everybody. Thanks, Tyler. Thanks, man. Thank you, guys.
He's in the recycling business. I didn't know either.
What a sick story. He's reliving our 2021 glory day
Chatting with the NFT lovers
Spending like 3 hours on OpenSea
Finding the cool cat you want
I don't think I'm going to match it in crypto again.
Thinking that you got a bargain spending $150,000 on a world of women.
Communities and everyone's racing to dump on each other.
They're putting up kind of big facades.
Everyone's playing Crash Game effectively.
Well, look at a hype $20.
This thing breaks out higher.
What do our magic lines say?
My magic lines are 36 from here dude
I don't know about you Mando but I was
36 which was actually the level
Mando had on his Horoku 4 hour candles
to make it in a bull trend again
somewhere else in the middle of that that I'm missing Mando
that's what I had But maybe there's somewhere else in the middle of that that I'm missing Mando in the low 30s, but
Yeah, I think there's a good challenge it goes to 30. Yeah, the OS here. Yeah, I guess 30 31 this would be
But quite a lot of air here
I obviously love to see it or quant Bernie. He's a back
He's made whole bernie bottoms all right let's give some money away all right charlie let's uh let's give some money away

What do you want to play?
Man, what do you feel like?
We played three times this year.
What game do you want to play?
Which one of your originals do you want to play?
This guy technically lost, but he got the one, like the flush.
Lost with the flush, he still made money.
All right, well, three clips.
Mandel's cranking up that RTP for you now because he's here. All right, well, three clips. Mandel's cranking up that RTP for you now because he's here.
All right, 250 twice and let's go.
Three clips saying flush, LFG.
Yeah, let's get your flush.
Oh, wait, why is this not showing up?
Oh, one more card. There we go. All right, let's re-bet. It's my internet. Oh, no. Oh, one more card.
He's just got a pair of threes.
Oh, there we already won.
Because he hit the seven point5x with one card.
With that being said, we will see y'all tomorrow morning, 10 a.m.
Underexposed live here in an hour as well.
We're going to deep on macro.
A little of the AI chatter.
Reading into Dario's warning here,
how to trade it while we're trading as well.
And it will also be broadcast
in the same place on Decrypt.
