I can hear you.
What's up?
Oh, my gosh.
I can't believe Ty showed up.
You weren't bullshitting me.
I don't bullshit, dude.
Well, we all bullshit a little bit but
no it's awesome that's awesome maybe you can come up and chat maybe somewhere we can just listen
tell talk a little bit about balling but um appreciate you showing up ty it's good to see you
um i am a fan i won't say of duke because that might turn you off from wanting to come up and
speak but i'm a fan of yours too, Ty.
So come on up.
But Queen, how are you?
How's everything in Titletown?
You're probably writing a post.
SJ, Pinky, what's up?
Are you there?
How are you doing?
How are you going?
I'm great.
How's your weekend going?
It's Friday still, so it hasn't quite started yet.
Oh, it's started for me. It's 8 o'clock at night. It's the weekend.
Nice, nice. Well, we got some cool updates we're about to drop out up here.
Some exciting new merch dropping.
We got some cool stuff happening with the Grit Squad.
We're going to Greece over spring break.
So we're be in Greece for spring break. I'm taking a group of 10 high school, well, nine high school boys.
And we're going to travel. We're going to travel to Greece and take them out of their comfort zone,
Travel we're gonna travel to Greece and take them out of their comfort zone
Stretch my comfort zone and really make it an epic epic epic trip to Greece
So I'm pumped about that. So that's something we're working on. So the tokens help and support that we also got
The the league that's going on up here that's gonna be supporting ball and token. So oh Ty came up to speak what's up ty ty lawson what's up man how's it going what's up man what's going on man i
appreciate you coming through i appreciate y'all for having me yeah welcome man it's awesome i'm
i was just giving you a hard time about that duke carolina rivalry yeah y'all got it last year. This year's all us.
I think I don't know. I'm a fan. I'm a fan of John Shire. I mean, he's a good one. I think I think he was a good pick to take over
John Shire was in my class. So I know I know a lot about John
Yeah, so was that what 11?
No, 12. Oh out of high school. I yeah high school and I played against him in college
Yeah, so he would I mean but you're from you're more from up where like KD's from right, but he's a little older
I'm from DC. No, I mean Katie's same age played on the same team. Oh, damn
There you go, let's go
But yeah, I worked back at Duke in the summer and got to visit Chapel Hill. Didn't really get to spend much time in the Dean Dome. But man, that's an epic place. And what a rivalry. What was it that took you from the DMV down? How'd you pick Carolina?
Took you from the DMV down.
How'd you pick Carolina?
I was always a fan of Carolina.
They always played fast.
And also, we won the national championship in high school.
And then Carolina won the national championship in Carolina.
And like two days after they won the championship,
he was at Oak Hill looking at me,
visiting with me, asking me to come to the school.
So I thought it was like big dedication by Roy Williams, so that sold me.
Man. And Roy Williams, obviously a legend.
But yeah, to go from Oak Hill down there.
And you were in, did you come out to Portland to play in that Nike
Hoop Summit? Were you in that your senior year? Yeah, I played in
everything. All of them huh mcdonald's
jordan probably yeah we only played three back then so i played hoop summit because i was a nike
athlete at the time then i played in mcdonald's and jordan dope how this is the era before
legal nil how uh how are you a nike you You were a Nike athlete in high school?
Yeah, basically, I play, when you're like, you play with AAU teams, and my AAU team is sponsored
by Nike. And Nike was sending me like all the exclusives since middle school, so.
You know when you're a Nike athlete.
Yeah, and Jordan brand is Carolina, right?
Yeah, it's Jordan.
But it's the same thing.
It's like Jordan under Nike.
Yeah, I'm out in Portland, Oregon, man.
I played at University of Portland.
Well, we use that term play rather loosely.
I was on the squad at UP as a walk-on.
But we played Duke when I was playing out there because of Dunleavy.
Maybe it was Dunleavy.
I know Duke used to do like a home-and-home.
I'm a little younger than or older than Kyle Singler.
So I'm an 02 high school grad, and I played at Portland Portland and I've coached small college basketball most of my life, but
Now doing I'm not coaching college. I have a club team
called grit and
then I am working on this web 3 kind of crypto project called ball and token
web3 kind of crypto project called ball and token just kind of a cryptocurrency for hoop
fans and people exchange it and collect it and spend it on stuff so yeah it's pretty
pretty fun project i just got into um it about a got into crypto in 2020 but got into this project
last june i started and launched this ball and token
Have you done anything in the crypto web 3 world tie? I was I was in a Bitcoin probably
2018 which I never sold it. I got in at like
That's good. It was like eight thousand eight thousand a coin. Yeah, so that's smart Yeah, I end up selling though. I got scared. It was so new back then so i sold it like 15 000 a coin
yeah you made it doubled almost your money yeah but i wish i would stay in it and then um the
web 3 was always interesting to me like the nft part when it was going crazy it didn't make sense
to me back then because you know people was just making random art and selling it i'm like this
has no value so but with the web 3 now like what they're
doing with now i think it has huge value and i definitely want to attach that to this little
business i'm doing called a lot of wins because um i want to make a web 3 nft with that
dope what uh a lot of wins is that the project you're working with? Yeah, it's basically I create a free lottery where instead of you paying money like a dollar or five dollars like the Powerball, you watch a 30 second ad.
You can win up to two hundred fifty thousand dollars.
I did one last week with with Sigma and Cozy and there was actually two winners.
They won twenty2,500 each
Wow, so just for watching the video. They don't have to pay their own money. They just watch a video and then get
Lot or get to gamble basically. Yeah, you watch the 32nd as you get your coin
Then we you can use your coin to pick numbers you pick your numbers you can do as
many times as you want and then i will come on live on social media or on the app and i'll actually
you know random number generate the numbers and if they hit then you win then i pay you out within
seven days that's dope man i like that idea what who are you getting to help fund it or like what
are the ads that you're putting up on there?
Uh, it's the same thing as youtube. So it's like ad mob and uh unity ads and stuff like that
So they fund it and then I have an insurance company that underwrites it. So the ads literally cover
The premiums at the pay so it's free for everybody. It's free for me. It's free for you
And The insurance company make their money unless they got to pay out, which they weren't too happy about.
Well, hopefully we can push it and get more people watching those ads.
So that way, not only is it covering, it's bringing in a little extra probably, right?
Is that the goal?
Or what would make it more successful for you? I'll be honest with you like so the the i'll just be very transparent the premium
they have to pay so say i'm doing something for ten thousand dollars um the premium's like two
cent you know every time somebody you enter i gotta pay the insurance company two cent when you
watch an ad i make around five cents so
i'm already making more money i'm already covering three margin yeah so it's it's free i'm making
yeah i'm making money zero risk low risk because you're yeah yes worst case is the insurance
companies covering it and they get a little pissed at you for not bringing more eyes i mean they're
they're bringing eyes they're just playing the
odds on their side you know what i'm saying so yeah that's what they do so it's they're not
really pissed it's just like there's it's the odds that makes sense though i mean it seems like a win
win because the ads are getting people to watch the people are because there's so many people that
do those i mean i don't want to say like old lady smoking a cigarette but like because there's so many people that do those i mean i don't want to say
like old lady smoking a cigarette but like just so many people that do those gambling games and
play all those online things that if you're getting free spins and a chance to win
and there's no risk it seems like it's a pretty good all option Yep. What do you think we could do?
We have a big community.
I know there's only 15 people or 12 people or something here now,
but what could we do to help with a lot of wins or that project with our community?
Y'all can either just play or I can set up whatever y'all are into.
I can say I can give away some basketball tickets.
Well, actually, right now I'm doing a day.
Spend a day with me at Carolina and go to a game.
So you'll see it on my Twitter and everything in the next probably two days.
But whoever wins it, it's going to be a pick four.
Whoever wins it, I will fly them out to Carolina.
We'll spend the whole day
go to everywhere that i went to uh my my classes my dorm the museum the food yeah and tour the
whole dean dome before the game and you get to go to tick game with me on court side so i'm doing
that in two days and then also i'm doing a Nuggets one where I am buying a suite.
And you can bring up the five friends and come to Denver and go to a game.
Food, drinks, everything's free.
That's sick.
Well, that's incentive right there.
I mean, you have a good following.
And obviously people in Denver and Carolina both think very highly of you.
So that's a hell of a prize, man.
Yeah, it's going to be fun, man.
I do all just fun stuff.
If you get to know me, that's all I do.
You're talking about Greece.
I'm actually doing a Greece trip, too.
When are you going, Ty?
I mean, I was out there for, what, seven months after COVID.
I literally left China and went straight to Greece.
So I have connections with hotels out there.
So I'm going to do that probably in March.
I'm going into March, Ty.
Yeah, so I'm going to be out there.
Are you going to Athens?
Which one are you going to?
We're going to Athens and Thessaloniki.
Thessaloniki.
That's where I stayed at pretty much
Oh, I've heard that's like the place like a coastal beach town you see
Up in the jumbotron up above our PFP are up above our pictures
My friend Athanasia she's the one who's helping us planet. She's from Greece
So she's gonna give us all the like local I mean she played at
University of Illinois yeah so she's came over and played in the US for
college and then had to move back just visa shit but she's now over there
playing professionally now and is on an island and she's a luxury travel
consultant so that's her job and then obviously not making a lot of money playing basketball, but she's getting a
Small paycheck to play basketball still but that's dope man. Yeah, we're going to Athens and Thessaloniki
Last week at a spring break spring break week, which is last week of
March yeah, well my close friend well
My friend is the agent out there.
He actually represents Mike James.
Mike James from Portland, Oregon.
He represents him. He's a little crazy,
but we love him.
They're the ones that helped me
with doing the grease trip and everything.
That's who I actually stayed with when I was out there for six months.
So, yeah, I might see y'all out there then.
That'd be sick, man.
We'll have to stay in touch about that.
And you said you played in China, yeah?
Yeah, I played in China for like four years during COVID pretty much.
So you, I don't know if he was still over there.
He might have been back playing in the G League by then.
But Poo Jetter? Oh, yeah, Poo Jet he was still over there. He might have been back playing in the G League by then, but Poo Jetter?
Oh, yeah, Poo Jetter was on my team.
Yeah, Poo Jetter.
Look it up.
Oh, Poo Jetter, yeah.
Shit, yeah, Poo and I were teammates.
I just posted in the comments a picture of us, but it'll go up in the Jumbotron here
It'll go up in the jumbotron here in a second.
in a second.
But, yeah, we played.
But, yeah, we played.
We were teammates in college, and I got to go sit at his table during the Hall of Fame induction at UP.
Kind of a legend for the Portland Pilots.
Yeah, ask Pujet about me.
I talk to him all the time.
He's actually out here in L.A.
Well, he's from L.A., but.
Oh, yeah, he's an L.A. guy for sure, for sure.
Are you in L.A. now, Ty?
Yeah, I live in L. in LA and always lived out here so he always we always ran into each other but that was the first time I
actually talked to him when I played in Fuji and with him but we're super cool now so he's he's
up here in Portland working for the Blazers and the G League team up here now so he's working he's
the assistant GM for the Rip City Remix
and then he's the player development
coach for the Blazers.
Oh, yeah, yeah. I hollered at him.
So, yeah, he's dope, man. Pooh's my
guy. He's...
You're not very tall either. How tall
are you, Ty? Man, I'm taller than Pooh,
goddammit.
He said I'm taller than Puno.
That is true.
I'm 6'1". Yeah.
Poo's got to be 5'10", maybe.
I think they listed him at 5'11", but he's not very big.
He's 5'8", bro.
But Poo's a cool guy.
I like Poo a lot.
He's a real one, for sure. Yeah, heoh a lot. He's a real one for sure.
Yeah, he's super cool.
He's super cool for sure.
Yeah, but he's an L.A. kind of legend.
He'd go down there with Westbrook and all those guys that were from L.A.,
and they all respect him.
And he was playing in the G League.
He was like 40 still playing in the G League.
Yeah, I mean, he's definitely in shape he can he can hoop
too so i respect him that's my guy yeah i like poo a lot but yeah mike james did you how'd you know
mike james uh my agent my agent um represents him so and then he's cool with kd and i'm cool
with kd so we just run into each other yeah that's cool
yeah the basketball
world is small right
start talking people and
names and it's like yeah I know Pooh
like John Shire and
I hung out at camp and
yeah the basketball world
is small that's why you gotta keep your name right
I know a lot of people think this crypto thing
is a lot of shady people hiding behind cartoon characters.
But I'm trying to really bring it more like some credibility behind it because I've been a college coach most of my life.
And, you know, it's definitely more transparent than a lot of things.
You know, it's all open source so people can see what's happening.
But we have I love that fun, too, man. We have an NFT project like my picture.
If the jersey that the team's wearing wins, then you get free ball and token.
We're doing contest competitions and things like that, just trying to keep the community active
and engaged and having fun. Definitely definitely I love that your prize is a
day in the life of Ty Lawson and probably what oh nine oh nine was the
year right that was junior year yeah yeah crazy man Hansborough was on that. Hansborough.
Who else? You had Danny Green, Wayne Ellington.
Wayne Ellington, yeah, and Danny.
Davis, he was on the team.
You had like six future NBA guys.
Yeah, we had a lot of people, so, you know.
Because you guys all decided, because weren't some of those guys talking about going early?
We all were testing it.
I tested freshman year.
I tested sophomore year.
But we all wanted to come back and win championships. So, that's why we all came back, to be honest.
That's dope, man.
And you did, right?
So, if you guys don't know who this man is then what the you are not a hooper because ty
lawson is a real hooper who like he was just saying mcdonald's all american out of high school
has done stuff played in china played in the nba done a lot of stuff all over so we really
appreciate you coming man it's really. I wish there was more people.
Where's Hoop Dreams?
Where's Hoop Dreams, Queen?
I tagged him.
Yeah, right?
I was like, wait a minute.
Where is he?
Where is Hoop Dreams and Tommy Gunn?
He's usually here before me, you know?
And Tommy?
All the basketball people that are like, I mean, there's a lot of hoopers in here.
Pink just likes to hang out.
DJ and Queen's just cool. But we have a lot of hoopers in our community that are missing out.
So we do appreciate you coming, Ty. We do this every Friday. We just vibe,
give updates on the project and what we're doing. And so, yeah, you're more than welcome to swing
by any time. But I really do appreciate you coming. It's always fun to connect with other
hoop guys. And we got a pretty cool project. And so, yeah, if there's things we can do or if we
can add on any tokens or donate to the cause or if people want to come out here to Portland,
obviously, I got connections, Nike, you know, right here in our backyard you got the nike world headquarters
so yeah if there's anything i can do to help i'm not quite going to be able to give a tour like the
08 north carolina but i can give you an 02 tour of university of portland back in the day at the
twilight room on thirsty thursdays three dollar pitchers but maybe not a national
championship unless we're talking women's soccer and we did beat unc in 05 and the women's national
championship for women's soccer yeah that's our claim that's the old we've won women's soccer i'm
pulling out women's soccer national championships from my alma mater.
No, I mean, shit.
Carolina was huge in women's
soccer, so that's a big accomplishment.
I mean, for a school,
UP is like 4,000 students.
And we won
the national championship.
Christine Sinclair from Canada,
Megan Rapinoe, US
national team.
So we had some soccer players, but basketball, we had poo,
and we had some guys, but we never finished, I think, above fourth.
We did beat Gonzaga, Ty.
I played in a game when we beat Gonzaga at Gonzaga.
Ooh, that's tough.
I played three seconds.
I played three seconds, Ty. I don't usually tell
that part of the story, Queen, but I'm just an honest guy. I played three fucking seconds,
but we did go up to Spokane, Blake step, Roni Turioth and beat him. Was Adam Morrison on the
team? Adam Morrison came in my sophomore year, so he was not on that team.
He was – I did guard him my junior – or my sophomore year, his freshman year.
But, man, he was kind of a bust, right?
Yeah, listen, I'll leave you alone, man.
Like, you never know what happens.
No, I mean, I would tell him not to his face because he talked mad shit.
I checked in the game, 30 seconds left.
Casey Franson was in foul trouble.
I check into the game.
I walk in, and he says, he's 6'8", I'm 6'2".
He looks down at me and says, what the are you doing in the game, you little bitch?
You weren't on my scouting report.
And I'm like, I'm about to D you up, Adam.
And he walked me down into the post, and I'm just shoving him as hard as I can to keep him off the block and right when blake tried to lob it into him i did a swim
move got a steal came down and dished an assist i didn't play the rest of the game but i had a steal
and an assist in 30 seconds of time against adam morrison so you know it's kind of like I scored on Poo. Poo scored on Jordan.
The kind of, what's that, the transitive property in math.
But no, that was a good team that we beat,
and nobody really gave us a chance except for Poo
because he was looking at Gonzaga out of high school,
and Mark Few was talking about redshirting him.
And so Poo tells the story.
I had a podcast with him during the pandemic.
I was like, Poo, what was that?
Why did you go off that game?
He's like, I looked at him and said, redshirt?
You want to redshirt me, Coach Few?
And we beat him.
It was pretty dope.
Poo's freshman year at UP.
The only time he ever beat Gonzaga was his freshman year up there.
Yeah, I guess y'all had some animosity against him, so I feel it.
Isn't that what it takes?
You got to find something to motivate you.
Jordan was always thinking someone was saying they're better than him, right?
You got to have that – some type of motivation to just kick somebody's ass.
Yeah, you got to have that edge for sure.
But, yeah, I'm always
on Twitter and on Spaces.
So I'll definitely come back in
and join in and say what's up.
Appreciate you, man. Yeah, it's good to connect with you today.
However you know Dejan Queen,
I don't know.
She's a funny one.
I'm everywhere, bitch. I'm everywhere.
And then her laugh.
That was...
Wait, before he goes, though, I just have to shout out.
Okay, so, like, for real.
He does...
So, one of my boys won his shoe giveaway, right, from his closet.
And then two other people I know won the $5,000 giveaway that
he did. And, you know, two people won, so they split it, right? So just so everyone knows, I put
it up top with my referral code, use my referral, and try your chances at some of this money, dude.
I will. I will use yours too, Queen, because I know he came in because of
you. So I will definitely download it and I will use your referral code 6767. No, 8153.
I will use it, Queen. I will use your code for sure. And I'll see what we can do to help
get more people in there on your code queen.
And yeah, Ty, I appreciate it, man. I wish more people would have showed up today.
But you're always welcome anytime. Definitely.
Oh, yeah. I appreciate it. I'll be back, too, for sure.
And if you ever want to collab, we can figure out something to collab with and I can do a sweepstakes for y'all.
So that's why I deal with, um, cozy and Sigma. So I'm always down to collab.
I'm doing this collab. I'm doing an ethical collab with, um,
y'all can come to the headquarters or something like that.
Somebody can win that. So I'm doing collabs with everybody. So we'll figure it out.
I love it, man. Let's blow this thing up.
Let's spread the word and get more people. And, um, yeah, man,
I appreciate you a lot for sure. And I'll definitely, we'll hit you people. Yeah, man, I appreciate you a lot for sure, and I definitely will hit you up.
I'll DM you, and then we'll see what we can work out
and definitely compensate you for your time and what you do.
Do you know Isaiah Thomas?
Yeah, I see.
Yeah, him and Nate Robinson.
Yeah, Nate's got his shoe line.
I mean, I'm out here in the Northwest, obviously.
I got the Seattle guys, Jamal Crawford.
Now these guys are having kids, and they're hooping.
IT's kid's a hooper.
He's nice.
I think he's taller than IT already.
He's taller than Pooh.
IT, I don't know.
IT is probably, I think he lies to be a little smaller because he wants to be like, yeah, 5'8 guy or 5'9 guy just gave you buckets.
No, he is 5'9.
Is he legit 5'9?
So you think he's probably, you think Pooh's got him by an inch maybe?
If that, yeah, maybe.
But man, Tyler, yeah.
I'll tell you, IT, he was tough as shit man. Oh, yeah
He was tough. I loved watching him play man. He was he was so fun just cuz he had that chip right and that's what made him
He got passed over by a lot of people because he's five nine
I mean he was the last pick in the draft so so he got passed by everybody. I guess, yeah, by everybody. He remembered. He took notes. He had receipts of every team that passed on him.
Yeah, he gave every team that passed by him buckets, so I respect it.
I respect it, too. Where did you go? What pick were you? I don't remember. You were mid-first round?
I don't remember. You were mid first round? Late first round?
Yeah, I was 18.
I was 18. I was 18.
18. 18. Okay. Nice.
How do you feel you would have gone if you would have come out earlier?
What was your take on that?
Obviously, you wanted to come back and you won a natty, but what was there a feel for where you would have been?
Was it about the same, a little lower?
Did you prove yourself better the last two years?
Any idea? Afterwards, they told
me that Atlanta told me I would win number 11.
So I would win lottery if I came out my freshman year.
Okay. They do draft
a lot on potential and the
younger players do
you look at who they draft. They're not drafting
many Dalton connects or
you know, they're going after
the younger guys for sure.
I was scared. I was a kid.
I was scared to come out.
You're playing against grown men that got to feed their families.
I wasn't in that mindset yet.
I was still just having fun.
I understand.
Yeah, you're a college kid once.
I still feel like there's something to be said for what your experience was.
It's kind of like what I say versus Kyle Singler and Kevin Love.
Kyle Singler didn't get, or Kevin Love didn't get recruited by Coach K
because he was a one-and-done,
and Coach K was kind of of the mindset of one-and-dones back then,
were no good.
And so he'd fly out to Oregon, fly into Portland, not visit Kevin Love,
fly down to Medford, visit Kyle Singler, because he knew Kevin Love was going to go one and done.
And it's like, who had a better, I mean, Coach Kyle won a national championship
in 2010, right?
So he had a pretty good college experience.
I don't know if Kevin Love had as good of a college experience.
I don't know.
Did he see Kyle stinglers having some mental
health issues and stuff yeah just i mean kind of sad yeah it's pretty yeah i hate to see stuff like
that man because just yeah mental health definitely is important and i don't know i think he got maybe
into drugs too, Kyle.
You get into a lot of things.
You get into a lot of things.
When you get introduced to a different type of lifestyle, then you have money.
So it depends how you handle it.
I'm sure you get a lot of, I mean, just, yeah.
It's like why Chris Farley and a lot of these guys die young is because they have the money and the fame.
And they just don't appreciate the little things in life anymore.
And they want to get chase that high and they start doing stuff that's not healthy mentally or physically. Right.
It's like you're at such a high level.
And then all of a sudden, say, you know, you don't live up to the potential or whatever it is.
Now you drop just back down to, like, you know, society and you just don't know how to the potential or whatever it is. Now you're dropped just back down to, like, you know, society.
And you just don't know how to deal with it.
So people will be doing drugs, alcohol.
Then you have money to actually support it to the level that is unhealthy.
So that's why stuff happens like that.
No, that's a good one.
That is so true, Ty.
It's just, yeah, once you've had that.
And there's not many people.
I always say friends don't tell you what you want to hear.
They tell you what you need to hear.
Lots of times if you're in that position, that's why I respect Pooh.
If Pooh's doing something he shouldn't be doing, I'll call him on it.
It wouldn't be like he's losing me as a friend.
Pooh and I go back to high school and everything. So it's like,
but then there's some yes men, right? That just tell the famous person, whatever they want to
hear, not what they need to hear. And that can be dangerous. If somebody is out doing shit,
they shouldn't be doing, but they have the money and the resources and the options
or the opportunities to get into bad shit. So, but yeah, I'm glad that you're doing well, man.
Seems like you're doing well.
And got a lot of good stuff happening.
And so I appreciate you coming.
But Moonbeam has her hand up.
So what do you got, Moonbeam?
Hey, I haven't talked to you in a while.
Sorry about my voice.
How goes it?
Yeah, my house burnt almost completely down.
So I was like, I'm talking like crazy, but we've all been.
I am so proud of you and you're
talking about like the money in the basketball because i i was that point guard number 10
mugsy bogues let's go but yeah um i was it was either that or military and and i really i kicked
myself for both because then i couldn't do either because something happened. I became a nightclub manager at a
holiday end. So yeah, I made a lot of money, but I missed my basketball, you know, and I missed my
military and I'm a baller. I mean, I'm, I'm like a basketball junkie. And whenever they get that
money, that's why I sit back and I don't watch it anymore. I'm old school NBA, you know, Rodman,
you know, Jordan, you know, when it was fun to watch.
I don't mean to hurt any nice feelings, but it's like you look at them and you watch.
None of them really got in a lot of trouble.
Rodman was just a loud mouth and he acted like he got in a lot of trouble, you know.
But now you get into these people, they get this money and they're like, it's like, what is going on in their brains they have got the rest
of their life set for them i mean the rest of their life so the football players like that's
why i don't watch football because they'll get that they'll they'll get that and they'll make
it like what 30 million a year and they'll get hurt in the first game they're sitting on the
sitting on the line they're still making that 30 million a year and i'm just like what is going on you know it's like there has to be something wrong with people's
mentality so when they start like recruiting them i think they need to start then i think they need
to start waking up and slapping them in the face you guys are getting ready to get a really big
freaking contract a really freaking lot of money and you're influencers. There are kids out there.
You don't need to go in there looking for the women and the cars and, you know, do all this.
You need to keep yourself on the down low what you do.
You need to not get into the crowd.
And I know the crowd will push you in that way, but look at the money you got.
Go somewhere else, you know.
And that gets me.
It gets me every time because I miss playing ball.
I miss it so much.
And it's like I really wish some of these people,
if they would train them right before they get signed,
maybe ball and coach, maybe they won't go out that way.
You know what I mean?
Thanks, Moonbeam.
I appreciate it.
I love you.
You're so random, and I just love it. Thanks for coming. I I appreciate it. I love you. You're so random and I just love it.
Thanks for coming. I always appreciate it. It has been a while, but I definitely get what you're
saying. It is like, I get what you're saying. You miss balling, you miss hooping on your own, but
yeah, if the education's key, trying to, you know, keep people grounded and, you know, I,
people, kids ask me when I'm working
camps like why didn't you play in the NBA and I'm like damn I wish I would have thought of that
right like I tried like I tried I know it's all like you're getting even I just I wasn't good
enough and I knew that at a young age and I got into coaching my senior year of college I played
two years and then I coached our women's team my senior year in college. And like, I knew like, I would have loved to, I mean,
I always kind of, when they say that, I say, well, you know, I just didn't really,
I just didn't really want all the money. And I'm just a humble guy. I didn't want the fame.
Fuck that. Like I, I, I would, I've never had that option, but I'd like to try.
I would, I've never had that option, but I'd like to try.
You deserve it more than some of the ones that got it is what I'm saying, coach.
That's what I'm saying.
You became a coach, which means you are NBA material.
If you're a coach, you're already NBA material.
That's where I'm at.
It's like, come on.
I'd love to coach a women's team.
I'd coach a men's team.
I tell you what.
I'll tell you what.
I'll get you on my coaching
staff with my club team. I don't know how much coaching I'll let. No, I know you were Hooper,
but you come give some motivational speeches and get our kids fired up. Like it's, I, you,
you make me laugh. I love it because that's their life. It's like something it's not.
It's something that, you know, you're good in school so you can stay on the team.
You want that scholarship, but we need to teach them once you get that.
I know you're wanting that money, but they're not thinking that, coach.
They're like, I want to be in the NBA.
But once they get signed, they see that money.
So we teach them before that and we'll teach them, okay, look at this example up here, because they're making a really bad example, and don't do that, you know, when you get all that money, you go your own way, start your own freaking team, start your own brand, you know, start your own school, you know, do fundraisers to help people, kids like me and Beamer, and you guys are in with it, that's what we do, we do the fundraisers to help people kids like me and beamer and you guys are in with it
that's what we do we do the fundraisers to help the kids to get the money to get the equipment
so they can have a future that's we need to teach them early because once they get that money they're
done that's like uh you know give me three million dollars right now i know what to do with it
well even if you gave me a younger i would have known what to do with it but some of them don't some of them don't they get out there and they're like oh
my god i got three million i'm gonna strip club and i'm gonna show off you know you gotta teach
them with a reputation they have to have that reputation you gotta see it you're right you're right you're so right
but no that was well said
but yeah that's what
Ty I think you're doing pretty well
maintaining well it's just humility
showing up like
people are like oh yeah
I had a friend that was like yeah I'll have
somebody sign autographs
for an hour.
Not Ty Lawson.
That is Ty Lawson.
Oh, my God.
Okay, I'm fainting.
I'm fainting.
Yeah, you're a fangirl in it now.
I'm fainting.
Okay, hey, Mr. Lawson.
Oh, my God.
She said, hi, Mr. Lawson.
Hi, Mr. Lawson.
Okay, I'm going to unmute.
I'm muting. I'm muting. I'm muting. Okay, I'm going to unmute. I mean, mute.
I'm muting.
Okay, Moonbeam.
What's up?
What's up?
I'm about to get up out of here.
All right, man.
We appreciate you strolling through.
Yeah, we'll catch up with you soon, okay, Ty?
Thanks for coming, Mr. Lasson.
I'll be back.
I'll be back.
Just call me Ty.
All right, man.
Thank you for the follow, Ty. I appreciate it. Meet you. All right. Be good me Ty. T-Y. It was so nice to actually meet you.
All right. Be good, Ty.
That was Ty Lawson, folks.
That was him in the flesh.
Ty Lawson joined us today, chopped it up for, shoot, 45 minutes.
He was in here chopping it up with us,
talking about Mike James and China
and talking about EuroLeague and all sorts of good stuff.
So appreciate you coming, Ty.
My voice is so good.
This is the coolest day ever.
That was like the best Christmas present ever.
That was pretty cool that he came and hung.
So we appreciate that, Dejan Queen.
And if you guys didn't see, check the Jumbotron.
You want to download this iOS app, Lotta Wins.
And it's a chance you watch a 30-second video,
and it puts you into a raffle to win either a day with Ty Lawson
or money or lots of prizes.
So check it out, check it out, check it out, check it out now.
Is that really Hoop Dreams here, showing up 45 minutes late?
Right. He shows up so late.
Casually late. Missed talking to a McDonald's All-American national champion from 08,
along with Danny Green and Wayne Ellington and Tyler Hansborough,
the 2008 North Carolina national champions,
18th pick in the 2009 NBA draft.
And they almost got beat by Jefferson High School at the Les Schwab Invitational.
With Oak Hill.
Mack Hobson had almost a triple-double.
You missed it, man.
He would have known that game.
He would have remembered.
We were talking about the Hoops Summit and the McDonald's Classic.
I'm sure he'll be back.
That motherfucker, goddammit, I'm sure he'll be back.
He'll be back.
No, he'll be back.
He was cool, though.
He said he was talking about Mike James.
Yeah, he was. He'll be back. No, he'll be back. He was cool, though. He said he was talking about Mike James? Yeah, he was.
He brought him up.
And I was like, yeah, straight out of Portland, Oregon.
But, yeah, then we were talking about Poo in China because he was teammates with Poo in China for a year.
Yeah, I don't know if you remember when it was COVID and literally the first fucking athlete that they had interview on ESPN was Poo Jetter quarantined in his room when he was going to go out to China where he had to stay in there for like three weeks.
And they were interviewing him like getting a lowdown about COVID and athletes.
All the athletes in the world and Pugetra
Pugetra, my guy.
But thanks Queen for getting him in here
and I'm sure he'll show up again
because he was definitely
being, it was a pretty cool
guy for a guy that
has a, I mean he played in the league
for a long time. First time I seen
Ty Lawson was when he was a junior in 2005.
He was there with KD at the Nike Skills Academy.
And this was before the Skills Academy went out of town.
They just did it at the Nike headquarters.
It was 25 players.
He had Love, Boat, Derek, Sing their singular ty lawson derrick rose is a
sophomore jared bayless is a sophomore i remember i watched them do a dunk contest after the workout
and basically they both could do like windmill backwards whatever it was like well motherfucker
i'm gonna do everything you can do but they're sophomores these were sophomores
geez zubek was there um curtis kelly with yukon was there uh edgar sosa who went to louisville
was there and i remember at that time i was like man will him. Why they ain't invite Dom?
I mean, Dom's going to Hawaii, and this guy's going to Louisville, but still.
And then there was another guy, Isaiah Dahlman, who went to Michigan State.
He was from Minnesota.
These guys were all McDonald's, all Americans, but they didn't pan out.
I still am in shock right now. I'm sorry, Hoop Green.
Oh, my God. We'm sorry, Hoop Green. Oh my God.
We got to get you out more. We got to get you to meet some more people.
Oh my God.
She didn't know that he was in here. Then when she found out he was in here.
He probably sharted on himself a week ago. Like, we're all just normal people, even though some might have millions and some people have stinky breath too and others
uh spill stuff on their shirt just like we do uh we're just all humans i just want to do something
you haven't met them a lot we have that barrier of tv and media but when you meet them you're like
yo that motherfucker was musty like i'd be musty i just want to get on a court and shoot with him. That was the freaking best Christmas ever.
You don't know.
You don't know.
No, he said there's a contest where you can win a day in the life.
Go to North Carolina, tour everything, see the facilities.
All that is one of the prizes in his contest that he's doing.
I live in North Carolina. That would be off the hook. Yeah. Yeah his contest that he's doing. I live in North Carolina.
That would be off the hook.
Yeah, he said he's doing a contest.
We can listen to the replay.
But he said it's like you watch a 30-second video,
and then you get a raffle ticket and entered,
and then he does like a lottery.
And if your numbers hit, you either get money or you get one of the
prizes he's doing. It's like he's flying somebody out to go to a game, but during the day, they're
going to go to all the places that he went in Chapel Hill, and then go to the Dean Dome and
get a private tour before the game, and then go to the game with him and get a private tour before the game and then go to the game with him
and then he's doing something in Denver too like a private suite for five people like so he's doing
some cool shit I like the guy a lot seemed really cool I'm gonna reach out to Pooh and get his take
on him but um no he had really good shit to say and I tried to get him to talk some shit on some
people and he uh he kept it clapping.
No, I was like, what do you know about, you know, Adam Morrison came up.
He's like, I don't know.
And then I said, he's kind of a bust.
And he's like, I don't know.
That's a good thing.
He's a good dude.
No, he seemed like a cool guy.
But that was cool.
I see Coach Garcia down there.
Hanks, I see you have your hand up darko sorrow
um hoops probably sent the invite to everybody but welcome to full court yeah friday hey hey

Because it is that time of week.
It's Friday.
If you don't like Fridays, you have a different schedule than I do.
The saying, I wish every day was a Friday.
I disagree.
I wish every day was a Saturday.
Because I don't work on Saturdays.
If every day was a Friday, I'd have to work every day.
But Fridays are good days because you're anticipating the weekend, right?
But no, it's fun to see everybody. It's fun to see you, Moonbeam. Thanks for joining.

thank you thank you thank you all thank you my friends. Thank you, my friends. Thank you. See, I love the humility, and that is a very good word.
That is one of the first words that I like to be able to learn how to say.
Please, thank you.
The magic words, if you will, if you were grown up around the era that I was.
Those are the magic words.
Use your magic words.
Magic words, please.
Thank you. I don't know. I also think I love. Use your magic words. Magic words, please. Thank you. I don't
know. I also think I love you is a magic word. Love. That's something. Yeah. You're welcome.
Thank you. Please. You're welcome. I love you. I love you. Thank you. No, thank you. No, thank you.
Like literally, like if I could thank you more, I would, but I'm going to thank you as much as I can.
So thank you.
Immense gratitude.
Monumental, monumental, gigantic amount of gratitude and love
and genuine, sincere gratitude to everybody showing up.
we've been
un poquito
en el espanol el loco and el cabeza yes see muy cabeza me gusto es me gusto cabeza what you did el loco
el loco and el cabeza means i'm crazy in the head what does me gusto me cabeza
Don't say that.
I took three years and I had to cheat.
Always true.
My husband speaks Spanish and he's literally sitting here going, what did he just say?
I was trying to get her to say it.
But, yeah, me.
Me no hablo.
Así es. Así es español. Verylo. Así es español.
Very little.
Así es español.
Un poquito.
Muy bonito.
Muy bonito.
The only word I've learned for three years.
Bento box.
I'll take the bento box.
No, I don't know.
But it's Friday.
It's got me good vibes, good energy today.
It was really cool having Ty Lawson come in, played in the NBA for a long time,
won a national champion, was a McDonald's All-American, Jordan Brand
Classic, All-Star, played in the Nike Hoop Summit, did it all, was a hooper, through
and through, and he rolled through just to say hi.
It was pretty cool.
Marvin Williams, Seattle, Rotary played on that team, Sean May.
It would have been nice if you were here.
You should have chopped it up.
He'll be back.
But you guys would have chopped it up,
and we would have all been sitting here and wondering,
well, who's Wayne Ellington?
Stop that.
Who's that?
I don't know who that is.
Oh, my God.
That was so much fun.
I have to say that.
You remember Hansborough?
Tyler Hansborough?
Oh, my God. Tyler Brollo. You remember Hansborough? Tyler Hansborough? Oh my god, Tyler
Bro-o. Tyler, what up?
Bro-o. What up, Bro-o?
Hansborough.
But, Hoop,
are you going down to, what day did you say
you're going down to the Salem?
I'm going to probably, I was
going to try to go tonight, but I'm going to probably just go on
Sunday after our tournament
Do they have games on Sunday? I think they take Sunday off. Oh, is it just is it Friday Saturday?
I thought that was this weekend. Yeah, I think it goes
I know it goes Tuesday third Tuesday Monday's a semi's Tuesday's a championship
Okay, so let's go Friday. No Friday wants to go there
Okay, so it goes Friday. No Friday wants to go there
My guy Kendrick because they play Nelson in the Les Schwab and he wants to go down there and watch them
Yeah, Nelson they're different when they have Braylon. Oh
Yeah, they're good. Oh, if you know what's going on Braylon actually has a broken foot right now
He hasn't played in any games this year. Yeah, I knew he hadn't played.
I don't know how bad it was, but I
saw him play down at Mack Court
and he didn't play.
He shouldn't even play.
But apparently he's timing it to come
back for the Les Schwab, so like a month
out from breaking his foot.
But kind of the thing about
Braylon, I love his game. I love his
leadership, everything, his brand.
But he's always injured.
He always has little dings and stuff.
And he got to figure out how to stay healthy.
Because this is a big year for him.
And then, you know, they got to transfer in.
The sophomore?
He's good.
Carter Lockhart.
Young Sean Carter so you know his dad moved here from Mississippi they he used to coach at West Lynn when Tyler Tony
was there how long ago was this how long ago did they move out to Portland I mean
moved out here like when you know Carter's long ago did they move out to Portland? I mean, he moved out here like when, you know, Carter's like 15, 16.
They moved out here when he was first born.
Him and it was his baby mom now, or, you know, Cheyenne.
But long story short, I remember seeing him when he was like six or seven,
and we went out to watch them practice, me and Kendrick, you could see just left handed left and I say hey man, man stand in front of that damn rim and make 100 layups right hand.
And he that's like every time you see me say maybe maybe make me did that. But his mom Cheyenne coach my daughterate, in club volleyball and helped her get into college.
Obviously, a scholarship athlete.
If you guys don't know, hoop dreams more than just a basketball coach.
A phenomenal dad.
And with his daughter getting a scholarship level volleyball player, and his son,
under our tutelage, is a blossoming young shooter, likes to play the game, developing it a little bit,
you know, but Big K, man, you know, Koney has got a bright future in the game if he wants, if he sticks with it.
And even if he doesn't, I don't really care if he's a good player.
I think it's more important that he's coachable.
He's got a work ethic.
He listens.
He plays hard.
Those lessons speak volumes about his upbringing more than his basketball ability obviously i want him to be
good obviously but when it comes down to it being coachable being respectful way more important than
putting the ball in the bucket and that's something more parents need to know or hear coming from coaches is that, right?
You're making hoops cry.
You got me about to be crying.
And you're also about to make me
chump, motherfuckers.
This is the type of shit we need to be talking about.
Fuck this little fake ass fucking crypto,
all this bullshit.
This is real life shit.
I'm about to go screaming.
Fuck all that shit. This is the real life shit i'm about to go scream fuck all that shit this is the real
life shit that you're gonna remember and this is a part of your life it's not gonna be that you made
something in apple stock and crypto it's gonna be these relationships and balling is not only
we're just doing this shit this motherfucker is helping to teach my son. The motherfucker that I made. Like, that's
what this shit is all about. And I know
that 95% of you motherfuckers
aren't listening to none of this shit. And I
hope we can meet in person in one day in
life so you can see my eyes and be like, oh, that's
the same motherfucker on these spaces.
This is what really matters.
Not whether you're rich.
Not whether you got some new token. Not
the new V3 that's coming out. not that you're streaming on Blaze, the arena or on spaces.
This is the most important shit and it needs to be talked about more.
Thank you, Ballin.
Yes, yes, that's what matters and that's people that don't know what ballin's about
um it's a community backed by a common token and that's what we're using to propel
us forward and oh damn those are sick i just saw those pictures the pictures of those
man what the uh jocky those jocks man i just got those for the pictures of those man what the uh jock yeah i just got
those for this just made me broke i just got those and don't they have don't they have the
isn't the other one a different color or those not those ones uh those are the ones that are like
they glow in the dark but they do got some ones that are different colors one of the young kids
amari got them on my team oh always bust, yeah, you got two different colored shoes, but your ass can't get in help.
You look cool, man, but you got to get your ass in a stance, man.
You got to fight through that pick.
You can't run into that pick and say, I got screened.
You got to fight through that pick.
You look cool.
You got an arm sleeve, but you can't shoot a jump shot because you haven't been in the gym in two weeks.
He used to cuss me out on his ref. Now he just
look at me and smile. He's like, you right,
coach. Yeah, I better get him outside.
There you go. He walked away. What you saying? I can see you
saying something, motherfucker. I got some cat ears.
What you fucking saying? Oh, man.
The one time I lost...
Just put me a little bit of tripling out there. I know
I've been out there for a while, and if I jump on it,
I'll probably make it.
There was one time... The one time I lost it on this kid, Jacob Bulger,
was like, so he's playing, I'm the JV coach of this, so just so other people in the room get
what's going on. I'm the JV coach at a university. The varsity coach sends one of the players down
to practice with me. Nobody wants to come down and play JV in college because most kids are used to being,
almost every player was all state in high school.
Now they're coming to a program
where they're just another guy.
So he comes over to me
and Jacob misses a couple layups
in this drill that we're doing
and so they have to run.
And as I'm telling him to get on the line,
he mumbles on the line a day before a game.
Ooh. What did you just say don't you don't you ever and i just had to lose it on him and you only really have to lose it
like once maybe twice a year to keep the kids on listening.
Because then sometimes it almost gets more.
If you get quieter, they even get more scared.
And you don't have to really lose.
But that was the one time that year.
And Jacob's a better kid because of it now.
He coaches now at Pacific. He's got a full-time job. He's a successful man. But he was still kind
of a boy in that moment. And I told him in a loud voice to where everybody in the gym was in his,
and he took it and he apologized after practice. But he said, you know, he learned a lesson.
practice, but he said, you know, he learned a lesson and now he's more, he's a young man,
but he's a man. He was, that's kind of a boy thing to do is to, you don't get what you want.
So instead of doing what my dad would have told me, which is work harder, show up earlier,
stay later. You still don't get what you want. You're not getting what you want, then get better,
you know, and there's a reason. Coaches do have favorites.
And so that's what my dad would have told me. But to mope when you don't get what you want,
to pout, you're going to bitch because you don't get what you want. That's not what my dad would have taught me. And that's not what I want to teach my son. You don't get what you want. You
put in more hours. You stay later. You still don't get what you want. Coaches have reasons. Maybe it's
not right or fair, but that's the superintendent's grandson. So he's going to play ahead of you.
It's not fair, but that's life. That's life. Listen, let your kids fail, parents. Let them
have a little bit of adversity when they're still at home. Don't go to the coach and fight for them
to play more. Don't go to the coach and fight for him to play more.
Don't go to the coach and tell him they're doing something wrong.
Go to the coach and say,
thank you for doing what you're doing
and putting him in these tough situations
to where I can still have him at home
and help him through it.
I don't want it the first time for my son to fail
to be when he goes off to college
or worse, when he goes off to the real world.
I want my son to fail and have that experience.
It's not like I'm going to keep pushing him over like when he was a kid
and I didn't want him to be able to walk.
But I'm like, make him get tougher because that's how he's going to handle life
because life's hard.
Right, Hoop?
Go for it.
Fuck yeah.
No, you got to.
Man, I had a parent last night.
I was there with my guy Waldo who you used to coach me at clark and he coaches a girls team called the vancouver grizzlies dave waldo
waldo yeah and we were up in there and he's got his girls and i'm i know like half the team that
i've worked with and then the other half i'm just getting to know him and there's this one girl in there and you know you got like nine player girls on the team and there's like two dads there but this motherfucker
like everywhere the daughter goes he's getting up out the bleachers and walking around and shit and
then you know i already seen a girl she kind of rolled her ankle which that's just normal shit
like breathing air in life you you got to get back on the
floor and she's like uh wait so daddy comes and then daddy comes in there and this motherfucker
is the buffer i'm like yo what you doing you got to get on the floor and talk right now he's like
ah yeah she's got a sprained ankle and i said yeah probably got to work on her being able to listen
to the coaches and uh the parents stepping back no disrespect dad and he kind of looked at me and
did like a little look and was like well and daddy you know you got your little 12 year old
daughter 13 year old daughter i got fucking 23 year old daughter i've done this before motherfucker
and i need to sit back and shut the fuck up when my daughter's playing jv as a goddamn junior
when i don't want to see that happen and she doesn't but she's got to go through this fucking
experience there's nothing i can do to be a fucking buffer. And then how does she get into college?
Because she works her way through that goddamn experience.
Oh, it's not just about basketball, Hanks, and Zen Girl, and King, and all that stuff.
This is about fucking life.
Can you handle adversity?
Are you resilient enough?
Rav is right.
Culver banded.
And can you get through that?
Where do you learn those penance at if somebody fucking saves you every goddamn time?
It's called autonomy.
We gotta work autonomously sometimes.
But it's better to learn that as a kid
instead of a fucking adult.
Because if you go to adult,
you probably ain't gonna have no fucking resilience.
I'm going to tell you that right now. So there's no age that you're like,
let's wait till they get 18.
let's start this shit at 10 and motherfuckers going to leave.
Cause they don't want to hear this truth.
So I hope it something adverse happens to them so they can work their way
through it and see,
I should have been listening to hoops,
You do got to have some resiliency.
And I found out, too, most people ain't really hit nothing really tough.
And when that tough thing happens, you don't want to be shocked and crumble.
And I don't know what to do.
You want to have a blueprint.
Well, if you learn that early and nobody saves you from it, you will.
I'm sorry that athletics teach us this shit that happens in real life.
And if you're like, well, I didn't play much sports.
Well, I don't know where you're learning the resiliency from.
Unless it's just heavy shit's happening to you in your life.
You could actually be practicing this every day.
Just like Spanish.
Toco a la guitarra.
Muy bonita.
CC. Yes. Spanish, E2, toco el guitar, muy bonita. Cici.
You missed our Spanish lesson earlier, maybe.
No, I got my goddamn Duolingo.
And I did with Miss Claire.
I did my classes on Zoom for two years straight during pandemic.
So, you know, I can get a little some hamburguesa.
Discipline.
Cici. Cici. Cici. Cici. i can get a little some hamburguesa discipline
uno dos tres
jimichanga.
La burrita.
And senor.
My husband's trying to get me a bunch of shit that I don't know what he's saying.
So I'm not going to repeat. Chupo muy huevos.
Chupo muy huevos.
El lugar el basketball.
Chupo muy huevos. Senorita. Mucho entrenar. The three amigos.
The tres amigos.
Where's Darko Sarich? Donde el baño camiseta?
Muy rápido!
El baño, por favor!
Why are you sounding like you're taking a dookie, man?
You're taking a dookie speaking Spanish.
You know what el baño means?
That's from Messino, man.
You're taking a dookie in the Albano.
Albano, por favor.
JD had to learn that shit, didn't he?
Oh, yo, yo, yo, yo.
So today, Fawson them just played against your boy Avery in Iowa United.
Oh, OTE did?
Yeah, with 6'7", Taylor and Kenny.
I'm looking at a little bit of highlights right here.
How'd it go?
I don't know.
They ain't showing the score.
It just shows some people.
Let me look on the overtime.
But apparently, I guess they've been having a little tough goal in the EYBO Scholastic.
I'd like to see the standings in that. How's Iowa United been doing?
No, that's what I heard. I had asked Foss the he said they've been they've been taking a few ills oh they have all right how's ote doing they're well they're it's they're not in the esp they're in the oh they're in the ote thing but they
go to the this is like part of their schedule they're at the tarkanian classic right now then
they went to the border league early but they also do games like uh um they just did want to say they did some game in vegas during the nba cup time last year during
all-star break they did they you know they got all these little things with partnerships because
showcase games yeah there you go they're they're connected with uh adidas but he said this the
last year on their adidas deal
so who knows somebody else might get them got it i mean the kid tk'd he already got a nil deal
that's that's uh seven figures and you can buy a lot of fucking arena token and avax
in jefe with that can't you some dumbass basketball game right
the funny part about that is that that 17 year old has probably worked harder at his craft
than most of us adults at whatever we're doing because you usually don't get to be
great at something without putting a shit ton of work in.
People don't be liking it.
It's funny when people hear the truth that they leave the room when they hear the truth.
I've seen a few people when they hear the truth, they're like, oh, man, let me go back to the easy going shit. How about you go through some fucking adversity and work your ass harder?
So you're saying it takes time to get good at stuff?
A long time.
They say 10 years or 10,000 hours.
And most of us haven't even put 10,000 hours on watching movies.
That means you're just chilling, not doing nothing.
My primary focus right now is trading.
Like, I want to be a really good trader
and i'm like so you got a trade right what was that so you got a trade right you're practicing
it now yeah every day i show up and yeah trade and you learn from your losses and then you get
some wins and then uh you keep going after it And that's the only way you're going to learn.
Is King up here as a speaker?
Man, I've been a king all type of invites. King been jiu-jitsuing this shit down like he's motherfucking MMA.
He been jiu-jitsuing that shit down.
I don't know, because the only people I see right now, the speakers, is Eternal and the three of us.
But holler.
I'm trying to get Shorty Duwop up here.
Vic Damone, Junior Junior.
No chance, Shorty.
No chance Shorty comes up.
Clover Bandit.
I will not let Hanks up with the two peas body and his own head with mr t jewelry
fake ass pfp can't even hide behind a real picture a real cartoon character exactly he's got to do
some fake ai character you know i do see clover bandit clover bandit i invited personally so
clover oh he's got he's got this is drinks
he's got jewelry with drinks i mean wow and then i wonder why he just tanned his whole body but
then didn't tan his neck and his face who who hanks look at he went out to the beach and he put
like a what do they call it a baklava They put a fucking whole ski mask on his face.
And he was unable to get his face and neck tan.
He's got hair growing out of his chin.
He's got some interesting things going on here.
I don't know how he did any of that.
And he's looking all real perplexed and surprised.
What do you mean?
Yeah, my body is tan and my neck and head isn't.
So what's the problem?
Got to get better at the AI, Hanks.
Got to get better.
They say it's Photoshop.
Photoshop.
Do you know King?
D-Gen? Queen?
Yes, I do. He's my boy.
You're my boy, Blue.
You're my boy, Blue.
He's my boy.
I love him.
He said he's part of the greedy ape flying club
he's a founder but i don't know if they fly
here i'm gonna read you something from something i wrote recently in the game of life and especially
in your craft you've got to outwork everyone around you. Not for show, but because of the price of real progress.
Consistency beats talent when talent gets lazy.
Dedication keeps you going when the excitement fades.
Discipline does the work when motivation takes days off.
Stay humble.
Okay, I didn't rate that.
That was actually King.
That was King's words, not mine.
I was going to let him say them, but if he's not going to come up and speak,
then I'll take them and use them as my own because they are very well written.
Very well said, King.
Yeah, King's the founder of Greedy Apes, and it's an NFT project launched on ETH.
And it's going to be paying back some real-world rewards,
and he's trying to get some tangible assets and some RWAs involved
so that it's more than just a project.
But he's an awesome one in this space.
So, yeah. I've got a bunch of his nfts maybe once they get reveals i'll give one away to your crew ballin whoa well yeah wait to give
don't give away your rare because i would that's why i gotta wait until they get right until the reveal i guess reveal not review right until the reveal
and um yeah that'd be awesome but yeah it's awesome appreciate you having appreciate you
coming through king um and i don't know if you wrote those words or if those words were
plagiarized from somebody else but i might steal them and take them and use them because it is true consistency matters who shows up
tommy gunn shows up every day sometimes a little late when you have national champion nba all-stars
show up but um yeah you missed out tommy but no what's up tommy how's it going man no it's going good i
just got back from getting a haircut trying to get myself presentable to the fam for christmas
and for uh the game on tuesday i think it is whatever day it is uh and then yeah just uh i
went and got some more baseball cards.
So I'm kind of going to rifle through those.
Damn it, Tommy.
Hey, at least he's not buying roosters today. No, I'm happy about that.
Now, Tommy, listen.
I had my old College of the Desert, my freshman year of college,
big duffel bag full of baseball, football, and basketball cards from 1983 all the way up to nearly 98, 97.
All type of shit up in there.
And I got tired of carrying that goddamn bag around every time I moved.
And I went and dropped that motherfucker off at Goodwill.
I'm telling you, anything you can name was all up
in there anything you know old flair jordans and motherfucking i had a i missed the punchline what
happened to this duffel bag i told you i dropped that motherfucker off the goodwill i was that
thing was like a hundred pounds or i was carrying it and moving it from every place.
I'm like, man, I don't got no goddamn Beckett.
I'm not selling this shit.
I'm not going through all this stuff.
I could have just offloaded that to one of you motherfuckers.
He thought he was going to get generational wealth in these JPEGs.
I would have got you three roosters.
Man, there was all type of shit in there.
I had damn near a whole set of like a
1984 83 tops
the fucking wade boggs and shit like that
old school barry bond when he was with pittsburgh i'm into this stuff right now but i'm trying to
figure out what i'm gonna to do with it all.
Exactamundo.
I just used to get it back in the day where you could get the old Bo Jackson with the football pads on and the baseball bat.
And that was like in the early 90s.
If you got that, that was like five, ten bucks.
All that was was for me to buy another pack of cards and get me like a Big Bite and play some video games.
pack of cards and get me like a big bite and play some video games.
A big bite is a hot dog that you can purchase from 7-Eleven.
7-Eleven is a 24-hour convenience store in Estados Unidos.
It's kind of annoying that these cards, they're kind of naturally bend.
And I think that's just how they're going to be,
because these were stored in their original case, and they look amazing.
But they got a slight bend to them, which is kind of annoying.
You didn't put them into the little plastic things, huh?
I see you.
Well, I just bought them out of the original case.
out of the original case.
So I haven't even gone through them.
I got a 1990 Bowman complete set,
and then I got a 1991...
Tommy, when did you say you get to Portland?
The night that the Blazers play the Pistons.
I won't be able to go to that game
because I get in after the game.
But we're coming that night.
Are you going to any of the Les Schwab?
When do you have to go back to North Dakota?
That weekend.
So like Saturday, I think.
Like the day after Christmas?
Yeah, it's like five days.
Yeah, they play Monday.
So I'll have all day Tuesday.
And then, you know, until Saturday.
I'm going to definitely be trying to go to, oh, man, what is the name of that place?
Right down there by your house.
Chalice Farms.
That's where I go.
Let me know.
We'll go together.
I'll be going there Tuesday.
Probably first thing in the morning oh i gotta say it's just it's a lot of effort trying to move things around and i got a nice
little uh a couple other things too i got a little baseball card box that has no baseball cards in it,
but I'm going to put baseball cards in it.
But it's like an old school one, and it was like five bucks,
and I was like, screw it, I'll buy it.
And then I got a couple other things for around the house.
Damn, I wish I would have sold them goddamn cards to you, Tommy.
Yeah, man, I'm enjoying a little hobby here, you know.
Man, I had everything I'm telling you, man. Tommy yeah
Did you did you you bought baseball like where'd you say you got it the card shop?
Hey man, who's who's opening up a goddamn bag of lace I
Got them from the there's like a little thrift store and i was going around and i was like man there's a lot of cool things in here and then i was like like a magnet
to the very back of the store and i saw that there was some cool like sports memorabilia here and
there like there was a old minnesota vikings thing and a couple other things and then on a little
bookshelf like at the very bottom,
there was like four stacks of baseball cards in their original box.
And I was like, oh man, I'm buying these right now.
But I was like, screw it.
I did the little deal that they had for like your first purchase, 25% off.
And I bought this 1990 top set and I've been going through it for a while now.
And I've got a bunch of cool cards
i think are neat and then i put them all back in in team alphabetical order separated by managers
and you know if anybody wanted to go through them extra i just don't know what i'm gonna do with
them i don't know if i'm gonna sell the full set or if i'm gonna just start listing them on ebay
um i've been looking up some comps here and there.
I got like an Oral Hershizer.
I got like a Sammy Sosa rookie card.
Frank Thomas rookie card.
That one's pretty cool.
There's some cool ones.
You could do a... There's an app where you take a picture of it
and then it searches on eBay
to see what the recent comps are,
which is kind of cool.
if it works,
cause I just,
I freaking asked Grok to put these in team alphabetical order and he did it
And then I asked him,
do it by mascot.
And he's still screwed up on that.
So I got all the mascots together and I made sure I had them in alphabetical
order and I just put them all back in.
So I got most of the cool ones separated out in case in like little plastic together and i made sure i had them in alphabetical order and i just put them all back in so
i got most of the cool ones separated out in case in like little plastic cases with a penny sleeve as well but i don't know some of them are just like top prospect rookie and oh i got a rookie
card for um what's his name for the Mariners?
King Griffey Jr.? Yep, King Griffey Jr.
And then I got a,
his dad played for the Reds
and the Reds won the World Series that year.
So I got some Reds cards and,
yeah, I don't know.
That's pretty cool, man.
Yeah, I think it's neat. As long as it wasn't a crazy expensive investment
no i think i paid 25 bucks these other ones i had to pay like 30 bucks
but no biggie i'm looking at this bowman these bowman cards are incredible shape man the edges
look so good i almost don't want to take them
out of this because i don't have any cases either but
i don't know it's got all the freaking it's got like a card for the
the guy that was like the commissioner a Bartlett Giamatti but yeah it looks like a complete set as
far as I know that whoever had them they have they kept him in great shape you know I got the original
box I hate to break them up but I don't want to take anything less than like 500 I mean I think
they're worth that at a minimum yeah put, put them on like a, what is it, Facebook Marketplace maybe?
Do you think like the full set or just like individually?
Probably the full set to start.
And then if it doesn't move, then maybe you could go to just putting them individually, like the rookies.
rookies but obviously a lot of people aren't gonna want uh
they're gonna want just the certain cards out of it and then you're left with all the
nobodies but yeah missy said you know the like look into how much it is to grade them and i was
like looking at the prices online for like a nine grade and I was like man it's not even that much money so they say nines grade about
like a raw unless they're really old where nines are really good but like
newer cards people will pay about the same for a nine as they will an
ungraded card.
So what did I miss?
You gotta listen to the replay.
Pai Lawson was here for about 45 minutes, which was really cool.
He came up and said what's good.
That's cool.
That's cool.
Let me check my ball.
I think I put 20 up for one of the games and I think like the winners spread across them so it really wasn't worth it for me to bid
20 I don't know Dang, yeah.
I think, oh, host is having connection issues.
I think I'm down about 100 balling
on a week.
Who are we betting on tonight?
I don't know. Who's playing tonight?
Let's take a look NBA games tonight oh I was curious about who won that Denver oh magic lost that's starting off
their road trip a bit rocky good to see the Lakers won last night. I fell asleep watching the replay.
I knew the Suns were going to be a tough matchup. They're a tough matchup for the Warriors.
They got a little bit of length and athleticism on them.
Sixers play the Knicks. I'm thinking the Sixers are going to win that one for sure.
That's like a guarantee, even if it's in New York.
I mean, New York is injured.
They've been celebrating.
They had a tough time with Indiana. I think the 76ers get them tonight.
Heat and the Celtics play.
That one's going to be a good matchup, good game.
Celtics, baby, let's go.
I'm rooting for the Celtics, obviously.
Bulls have been giving the Cavs trouble all year.
But I think the game's going to be in Cleveland. Blazers had a tough one last night
against the Kings, and they play the Kings again here in like a week.
Blazers are in a homestand.
Spurs and the Hawks, that'll be a good game.
I think the Spurs are going to be hungry if they win that one,
but I think it's in Atlanta.
And then the Thunder play the T-Wolves.
T-Wolves are done for.
Thunder are going to kill them.
So, yeah, not financial advice, but I think I just went over what's going to happen tonight.
I might have to go play with my cock on Cockbook.
No comment on that one.
Do we lose, Coach? I'm trying not not to in my back? I don't know I heard it was rugging losing connection. I went from no Wi-Fi to Wi-Fi
But I'm having lunch right now so kind of quiet
Stuff in my face busy Husky what's up? I'm having lunch right now, so kind of quiet.
Stuff in my face. Busy.
Husky, what's up?
But no, we've been going for about an hour and a half.
Might shut it down here if you guys want to keep chatting.
But it's sweet having Ty Lawson.
I'm going to listen to the replay again because Moonbeam was fangirling it.
And it was fun.
It was fun.
It's a good one.
Listen to it on replay here if you missed out.
But, yeah, we're going to be balling again next Friday.
Some pop-up spaces between now and then.
But appreciate you coming, Tim, Eternal,
Tommy Gunn,
and I'm excited I'll see you in person here soon, Tommy. Let me know when you're going.
If it's the 23rd, you're going to Chalice
in the morning. I'll go with you.
Alright, cool. I'll come pick you up.
Alright, man.
Peace. See y'all.
Thanks, Queen.
Alright, you guys.
Have a great weekend, Queen. All right, you guys. Later, guys.
Have a great weekend, guys.
