about the Mindy disc, the art behind it?

i want to get your little background on on who nana is okay let's then let's start with the art
so the art is a mini disc um if you are like around 40 you probably remember this media

If you are in your 20s, you probably have never met it.
The mini-disc was an invention by Sony to make the compact disc smaller
and as well more flexible and usable.
And they created stunning devices and recorders and players.
They created stunning devices and recorders and players.
But I don't know why Europeans or Americans
preferred to run around with big, large disc bands.
So it was never like a top-notch key market technology
in the Western world, but it was in Asia.
Because minidiscs actually enabled screaming
in an offline way.
Because what happened in Japan is
that you were able to just rent Minidisc for 24 hours, like videos, and so people took the music
home, have put together their own tracks on their own playlist on their own Minidiscs,
and so they gave it back. And that was the first time where a royalty share
or lease model was developed for music.
It was in Japan, which is factually still the blueprint
for Spotify and co.
And it's a nice collectible as well.
We can play around with it.
We can put nice covers on it.
And it has a hysterical volume from its history as well, the artwork as well.
So that's why I asked my good friend Ryder, like,
I want to have this.

And he did and delivered pretty well.
So you will see all on-chain records with these mini-disc designs.
So mutant record mini-disc or mutant record discs.
So that in the end you have a beautiful
collection of a lot of flipping and spinning records which you can use wherever you want
them in web 3 and web 2 because it's royalty free what comes under this pass
yeah that's why i thought mini disc is is a fun technology and a great design because it brings collectibles back.
We can play around with colors.
We can do it with special and rare and limited editions.
So it opens us a lot of flexibility and we can develop the animation as well further.
So you never know where you end up. Probably in a year from now, we will have our own homepage
with an animated mini-display where you can load in your mini-disc
or something like this to make it even a little bit more playful.
So that's why I choose the design of mini-discs.
And I think it's funny how you said, if you're 20 you probably don't remember this
uh did you did you purposely choose them i i i was like kind of like you know nerding out a
little bit around i didn't know they got i know they started they stopped making i think
officially making producing them a few years back but i think they completely stopped producing them
like earlier this year they're still producing minidisc people are still buying them because
they have a hardcore scene of audio collectors because this device enables you either to record
in high quality like wave file or you can record like in a compressed way like MP3 up to four hours on it.
But they had developed their own algorithm for doing so.
So the quality is a bit better than a normal MP3
from back in the day.
So you can compare to a 196 kilobit MP3
when everyone was running around on 128 still.
Oh, that's awesome.
I didn't know that it was that crazy good.
And it was a while ago when the number of checks came out.
It's crazy that I knew.
It was all new to me completely.
I didn't know, though, that earlier this year
they completely stopped producing them, I guess.
Maybe it's just, like, what I read across.
It could be wrong.
But it was kind of like this underground tech that I guess never got pretty cool but was, like, cool underground, if that makes any sense.
It was mainstream for media reporters in the Western world because you were able to attach a microphone to it.
And so this was like the go-to thing
for journalists in the Western world.
That's where it had its place here mostly
besides some music nerds like me.
That's pretty neat.

It's almost like now like a collectible
like that you kind of want to get,
which is fitting because it's now a digital collectible also.

Yeah, who's Nana?
Nana is a crazy German, half German, half Italian dude who grew up in Germany.
And in my youth, I came in contact with music and DJing
and I started to DJ.
And yeah, some funny incidents.
And suddenly I was in wasn't clubs and yeah
playing playing with all the big guys around through Germany I did this
actively until the age of 25 when I started them to pursue like more my
corporate career but never stopped like doing music so I was playing every year on several gigs
only larger ones for it was still appreciated that your vinyl DJ and as
well started to make a bigger music and sing production on the side so the past
yet ten years it was more like a professional hobby,
which then turned into the past two years into a true dedication
and helping artists as well to get their music out and working with them.
So I started Mutant Records last year here in Amsterdam,
started to collab with some younger artists, brought them already to Ape Fest.
They're pursuing now their career under the record label, and doing this as well and planning to do so with
some more other artists coming up.
So yeah, Mutant Records is technically all about music and bringing music to the people.
So we will do weekly music streamings so this sunday stay alert it's coming up another
stream and we'll and i'll start a time warp journey with all of you guys through my record collection
so we really go back to record number one uh and we'll do it from there we'll be like i think 15
to 20 shows until we are done with this but when you
when you listen to every show you will get a good feeling about the music development of the past 20
years because that's what my my collection is representing and you will as well be able to
listen to a lot of tunes which you have probably heard in clubs but never on Spotify and Co.
Because back in the days most of the bangers were
created as a bootleg.
So they stole
some famous vocals, did not
sign it properly.
They were just releasing the things for
promotional value.
That was mostly the
industry back in the days that you really need to get these bootleg
bangers which were highly limited and really rare assets in the same way like nfts so super rare
collectibles and i want to bring all this history to the people and as well show the people that there are still different ways
nowadays to play music.
So, while it's still a good place, it sounds differently.
And what you can do with the combination of modern technology and old school analog technology
will be shown there as well on the stream.
For me, it's about sharing the music,
sharing what I think is good,
creating music for the whole space,
and give everyone something into his wallet
which he can easily share with his friends
because it's easier to share a cool song than a jpeg and and
tell a whole story around it that's what i've learned share good music and the people will
come and want more and want to learn more about it and that's why we want to set the highest bar
in audio and sync production for the whole space so that whenever there gets content pushed out
really pushed out on all the socials so that the audio is top-notch that the algorithms will support you heavily yeah better than the bad audio production or bad sync production because these
platforms are nowadays analyzing your content and everything in it.
So AI is doing heavily
progression there.
And yeah, that's what I love about
music. In the end, it connects
people, brings people together,
creates stories,
creates new ways of doing things.
Yeah, so it's all about the beat.
I love it. I love it it you talked a little bit about like how it was before do you want to I mean in so much has changed now
that you're you're minting on like on a chain your music for those that maybe
forgot I mean I definitely remember so like do you want to talk about how maybe the challenges it was getting out music,
maybe even before many discs was around, you know, and how much that's evolved to now?
I mean, I definitely, like, was in high school when I had, like, you know,
either friends or friends in circles that were, you know, selling their mixtapes on CDs at the mall,
like, you know, just trying to do it that way because there was no, like, I mean, we had dial-up,
like, you know what I mean? When I was growing up, like, I don't think people even remember dial-up.
So it's like, for maybe those people that don't remember, just talk about, like, how much it's changed
since, you know, the earlier days, you know, like 20 plus years ago.

Yeah. Yeah. So back in the days, we recorded a mixtape.
Then we burned it on CDs.
And yeah, we sold them, we shared them with friends.
And yeah, fun fact was I stopped doing that pretty early
because when I went out for clubbing on myself with my friends,
I started to listen to my own mixtapes because DJs were playing my mixtapes.
That was a pretty, pretty fun moment.
So I stopped doing so.
But yeah, back in the days it was way harder because you had to like finance things when you want to press a record or a CD.
So money was always the big factor in the game.
And nowadays you can just go to a digital distributor
and put your music out there.
But it's as well 500 times harder to find good music
and as well, even if you do good music,
to get the attention from the audiences over there.
That's a totally different game than back in the days nowadays
because social plays a big role over there.
People want to be entertained
and they still want to see their DJ buying a coffee
every day on the socials
instead of seeing him every day in the studio.
So a lot of things have changed there.
And that's where we want to use Web3 as a facilitator
and as well as help our artists so that they can connect
on this collectible way with their fans
and that they can give back as well through airdrops on chain
records unreleased tracks on the chain to their holders as well so we are
bringing back these things from from in the past where when you bought a record
back in the day sometimes you have a surprise in it like a poster or
whatever that's what we love about the blockchain we can bring in back these mechanics yeah and and reward the loyal fans from the artists yeah I think I
think that that's gonna be great for not just as the artists involved but also
like people that want to use it in different ways we mentioned a little bit
about content creation I think I think think even just now seeing Carol come up
and mentioned on the streaming side,
but even for those that are maybe making
other interactions in the space,
whether it's through the gaming side
or other maybe interactive interfaces with the user,
I think having this option as far as, like, you know,
getting assistance from you to, like, really get what they're thinking,
get that tune that might be in their head, like, into reality will be huge.
Just having the experience of, like, you know, you.
And then also the guidance of, like, what Rick will kind of bring to the table, too,
on the AI side and his experience
with music also. I think this could definitely like evolve into a much more fun project than
maybe people realize at the moment. And I mean, I don't think like you're really too worried about
how fast it goes. Are you concerned about that? Like if it's going to be a slow cook, I think
similar to like how we do the GMm show how we mentioned the other stuff i'm i'm happy when it's not sold out within five minutes
because dealers then don't play on it because this is honestly utility mint guys yeah so if
you want to degen on it fuck off yeah you can do it but i won't appreciate it honestly because
we want to bring in long-term
utility for the people yeah if you want to detail for a year you have to buy it and stack it and
use it as well but this is for builders and creators so come in for the utility or honestly
stay away because we don't want to have these flipperinos over here yeah it's like um we have dedicated things for digens on the space there are a lot of
free mint collections which you can mint and and flip around yeah but please don't do it with with
real utility projects where you can get something in the end out of it and even when it's yeah

it doesn't have to
be content just here. It could be for Web2 stuff. Like I mentioned yesterday, pretty sure they can
help you maybe even make a jingle for your brand and stuff like that. Actually, Nana, that's a good
question before we get to the other GMs. We're going to get to Rambo and then also Black in a
minute. Like if someone wants to make, use the voucher and maybe they have like a web2 brand or
some other brand where they want to make a jingle and it won't be too long could they break it up
like potentially the jingle into different things yeah yeah so uh we could make things happen
um when it's just a jingle over like five to ten seconds no worry when it's like a full
advertisement over 30 seconds yeah probably as well when it goes three minutes then we have to talk guys yeah so uh we need to kind
of as well put warrior and and price a little bit in perspective but um for us as well
we love these challenges because every different brand comes with a different vision around it.
And that's the fun for us to really understand the vision and to really add value to the vision
with the world of soundscaping and sound branding, honestly.
So because we have seen companies succeeding in the past because
they have done it and we see
right now more and more corporates stepping
into this world
pretty slowly because it's
an expensive thing because
you have to do it properly once.
So honestly there's
only one good example in the world that's called
Uber. They have done it right
but a lot of other brands
are doing it wrong so you really have to find the sound for your brand which you want to represent
in the next 10 15 years and as well you need to ensure that this sound will stay up to date for
10 15 years otherwise otherwise don't do it don't do it simply yeah that's um that like we had a conversation before
like we mentioned in the space i think sam just left us uh let me actually make sure i have
another co-host if it's cool rick i'm going to send you one um while we get try and get Sam back. But yeah, I mean, we've had conversations offline,
and I think that's a big reason also why I'm not sleeping on this.
I think the way you might be thinking about it

that type of stuff and then where mutant records comes in um is just perfect from the publication
uh side of it right and then obviously being able to teach uh private public lessons you name it um intro outro videos uh sorry intro outro uh tunes etc
like it just fits perfectly so yeah i doubled down on the mint um i put five into the uh into the
into the treasury and they're going to be locked away for the long haul i know that there's some

I know that there's some more artists across the ecosystem
who are actually sleeping right now.
So I'll be reaching out to them as well who live in the States
because, yeah, I firmly believe what Mutant Records
and obviously the vision that you guys have
in how you want to deploy it to be successful in years to come.
It's very, very needed in the industry, to be honest.
Yeah, that's why I pivoted as well in this direction
and just did not only become like a pure artist record label,
because how Phil mentions, like many apes are working in one direction.

So we are really breaking up these frames and enable everyone to create content
in the best way, in an easy way, or in a high professional way. But in the end, it looks
very nice. So myself, I use Dashboard every second day to just let my ape dance to what
we created. And then, okay, I save it and I can use it as well for promotion,
putting them on Instagram and so on.
The same utility comes around with Ovi.
You stream over there, you get the content, you can get the audio,
you can make it nice, you can share the things easily.
It's like we are aping in one direction and people start to see these layers coming together
and there are coming new tech solutions into it.
There are coming new entities into it who fill out another gap.
We see story writing is becoming a big thing in Web3 finally again
with Gaga mentioning it on the other
Space FM so
and we want to be a part
in the center of it because
music is a connecting piece because
your content piece without music
is boring, people will skip
away, if you don't have an
audio or visual attention
gainer at 5 seconds in your video clip
people will skip over it.
So you really need to embrace these values
and these facts and figures as well in your content creation.

well. So if you could touch a little about the IRL mission, I would really appreciate, you know,
if they ask me questions, I should be able to answer as well. And I'm sure everyone here would
like to know more about that as well. So if could uh take a minute to explain about that
yeah yeah definitely definitely i mean we're more talking about mood records but like we can
definitely touch a little bit about albatross um for sure um i mean i know sam's up here where you

As far as the IRL stuff, I mean,
like we mentioned in some other spaces,
we're looking at doing IRL activations.
We wanna do it through something that Sam had a vision on,
which was through proof of meat.
We also realized that there are some tools
where we can accelerate the experience
a little bit more through an on-chain experience as far as as well as um irl so we're aiming to
possibly and i don't want to get quoted on this um give a like a an early phase of that um rollout
like uh through through maybe nft nyc uh for those that can make it in that,
but obviously wrap those experiences with on-chain
and digital activations.
But like everything else that we're gonna be rolling out,
obviously we'll take time to build
if we wanna do it on our own ways.
The cool thing is like similar to the PO app on GMHN 100,
hopefully people got
that there's other ways where we can give experiences through blockchain you
know that includes not just POAPs that includes other page and we'll find
there's definitely ways that we can include that into these IRL like
experiences which will also be like,
you can look at it like goals and quests
that you'll lead up to.
So that's a way where we want to introduce
the early phase of what Proof of Meat will roll out to.
And like you said, IRL is the alpha,
but obviously we want to roll things out in the right way and fulfill everything.

the art, if you've seen it,
it is kind of like almost like meme friendly,
that kind of style.
So we're definitely gonna go into that, you know,
character building and really develop the brand
around that too.
But yes, just really hoping to like you know
under promise over deliver with the with the vision of also like you know slow cooking it
and and making sure that like the experiences that we give are experiences that people want
that's i think an overall um advice that we got from others in the space uh because it doesn't
like and now and also like we realize that that a lot of people are making things that could
help in that,
in different directions on different things we're working on.
So we're excited to get that rolling out with some other things.
We mentioned a little bit with the, you know,
with our friend cattle and what they're doing with Confluence and the
mobile side.
So I think there's ways where we're setting up collaborations that could,
we can help through what we do, not just through Albatros and GMA chain,
but also we can get on what they're cooking, you know,
with other examples also.
So definitely a little hint was maybe what we can do with the music pass
and that stuff and other collaborations we've set up,
which it's funny how things are circling around
because people are getting more excited
to work with us again.
You know, we mentioned things like Introverse.
We didn't have as much success this tournament,
but there's already interesting talks
for the next tournament coming up.
And I think like, it's just, you know,
as we dive into deeper into the space, like, you know, more more opportunities open up for us and possibly that could also lead to our holders and those experiences that we that we can offer to to everyone.

in the past are not a thing anymore because all these voices are being digitized and and ai is
doing the work there so that's why we we have this broad approach with Mutant Records
to dedicate, work out soundscaping, work with projects
and get away from the classical sync business as well.
So it's really like two or three pillars.
One is sync, one is the artist and one is the blockchain
to work with all the projects here
so that we can achieve in the end really to be a bridge,
so to onboard people from Web 2 into Web 3.
One idea I have in mind is throwing a party
where you get your tickets via Glyph.
We have this great tool now to onboard normies in one click.
So as well, working on these concepts,
because I believe it's fun when people come to a party,
we onboard them to a new technology,
and the next day they have some beautiful party pictures in there
and a super memorable animated ticket so that people can as well

send it over because i had no issue using uh my wallet but it was connected i think previously

your address and put it in in payment directly in there is no actual wallet connect with POAP so don't be afraid

yeah that that's how that was my experience also i just entered it and it minted directly i don't

to be rebuilt? So I can go and look at it and be like, yeah, that's still not built. Yeah, the temple,
the temple of God, as it's referred to. Do we know which one that is specifically,
are we still guessing? No, we know exactly where it was because the romans did it they're the ones who destroyed
it so it's cataloged by the romans this is history you know so there's a specific place
and there's no temple there and it isn't built to the specifications that are in the bible according
to the prophecy and everything so in order for that to happen you actually have to have the
sacrifice of the of the red heifers
which that process has begun but that actually technically hasn't happened so until they do the
proper sacrifice they can't even start the building of the temple but right now there's a

These are people who are willing to research.

you saw how much stuff on like online if you're not familiar they the people who watch the show
the fans are just very very active online and for that reason I think that it could work wonders
for our space so I think we should talk KC into figuring out a hole into that door, like figuring out a way to get us in that door.

where you can go quad biking and all the villas obviously all the nice fillers have pools and and

and me and coins are two people who already wanted to do something like that um who have kids
like I've been actively teaching my kids for years they're um 12 and 10 like about the blockchain and about how it
works they've been picking out nfts for years for me i let them pick out the art because well it's
going to be theirs i'm not going to sell it so i mean i'm going to pass it to them why can't they
pick out which rabbit they're going to own um i don't care um and so that's what we're going to
do anyway so if that's something you are genuinely interested in putting together, we totally should do that.
Because I definitely have kids who will 100% like they're not shy,
they're chatty, and they would be very interested in it.
