very early on just because I don't know where it's going to go you know um but what the hell is going on is that just me i think that the agent's mike
just tell me do you want to follow agent what the hell
uh yeah what i wanted to say is i think the biggest problem that I see from this is from a
marketing standpoint like when I look at a ape coin and a chain hub and I see like what they
promoting like about the spotlights I don't see them promoting any meme coin whatsoever they've
done a lot of promotion of the clutch markets
thing and i think that that's because it's something they can be proud of and something
that they can promote whereas when it comes to meme coins i think it's very risky territory for
them to be uh promoting any meme coins so then it comes down to the question of like how do we get
word out about these meme coins because it's not going to be coming from
the main account right because they can't i see i saw they did one about curtis like a week or two
ago but other than that it's been nothing of the sort so it's like how do you bring the spotlight
to these meme coins if uh these you know the main accounts aren't even like retweeting or
posting about these meme coins
and i think that that comes from a legal standpoint i don't think that they can
uh actually promote meme coins like that without like some sort of um you know like
some disclaimer so i think that that's where the problem comes in and then like looking from the
outside in it's like how do we how do do people even know that like
spotlight season two is all about meme coins i don't think if you had to go ask most people in
web three they would even know that it was about um uh meme coins so how how how are they going
to promote it is the question how do i mean we're already almost halfway through like how do you promote meme coins
like as as it as a as a main account as a chain whereas when it comes to nfts i think that it's a
lot easier i think that that you know it makes it a lot easier because they they are less volatile
and they are less uh you know just less of a liability when it comes to to laws and all of that so that's that's my
only thing that's my only issue that i see is like the from the marketing standpoint like how many
people has this actually onboarded onto a chain and yes i get like you guys are saying the dgens
from solana but that isn't who you want that isn't who you want you want people who are going to buy
meme coins and hold meme coins and become part of a cult and ride the wave up that's how meme coins
get big you you look at all the big meme coins that's how they good they got big is through that
cult following you're not going to get that through these flipper these flippers from solana coming
here you need strong solid community and the only way you're going to attract those people is by building, by promotion, by building, by marketing. And if the main account cannot do that,
you've got a bit of a problem there. You're kind of like in a catch-22 situation. That's just the
way that I see it. I might see it wrong, but that's just my take on everything.
And I think just to extend on that,
what you're actually going to end up attracting is the people who are seeing
that, oh, hey, some meme floods are getting good traction,
getting close to bonding, and it's going to attract some folks launching points.
People who know how to run up a point and slow rug.
There are people who know how to do this.
There are people who know how to get a point to bond
and then to take profit after in a way to where you never see it coming you think it's like a nice organic run-up they're
using all wallets they're using things so and i'm not talking about people who are from ape chain
talking about people outside of a chain so that's another thing to worry about this is the issue for
me right this is an incentivized thing obviously you get the points by completing the quests the
quests i think are great i think they did really fun things with apes predict especially and like the social part this is the issue right you're telling people
all right you get a 30 60 x multiplier on these memes these people are coming in and buying these
memes say somebody bought a meme yesterday okay in the last 24 hours pertis down 20 percent wong
down 10 percent cult 12 percent ho is down 25 percent Crypto is fun, down 8.23%.
And GT is the only one that is up right now.
So we built an incentivized campaign
and we still got red candles.
When at least I know for a fact
that in season one of Spotlight,
the NFTs were doing actually pretty well.
And you know, people were flipping.
I think there's something to be said
for the idea that like,
I don't know, Rita, but if I was you, if I win the top spot in Spotlight, and obviously your community would be like, oh, no, no, no.
But honestly, it's not about what people want short term.
It's about long term success.
I would ask the Ape Chain team to deposit that prize money into floor bids and not to sweep.
Because your price will actually grow more long-term that way than people flipping into
sweeps or you know obviously leaving apart maybe for the peanuts so i don't know maybe peanuts is
already set up but that's like that's like a potential strategy for the rewards where that
liquidity becomes much more efficient and effective liquidity is not up to us but again again i'm trying to i'm trying to um this spotlight season two one it's
two weeks uh it's mainly to spotlight uh clutch um and uh at the same time giving rewards to nft
communities right and they and they also are giving out nfts and a bunch of prizes to 100 people
you don't actually need the multipliers to be eligible for the Board APL Club.
You have a chance of one in 100,
which is pretty fucking cool,
to win a $30,000 prize.
You don't even have to do much.
You just have to do the social quests
and hold a couple of NFTs from the projects,
and you're in with a one in 100 chance
to win a Board APL.
It's completely different things.
I think the volume on meme coins is irrelevant of the point of this thing.
They were trying to attract people to meme coins, not from within, but from outside.
And that has nothing to do with Spotlight.
Getting traction on meme coins is to attract others.
Yes, it gives Ape Chain holders a multiplier for Spotlight too,
but at the same time, they're trying to grow that sector of the chain.
It has nothing to do with the NFT side.
It doesn't mean they're ignoring the NFT side.
If they were ignoring the
nft side they wouldn't be sweeping nfts at the end right yeah i i agree with you on that
and just like just like i said i mean i i don't do bets i don't do parlays i don't do all that
but but i'm doing them now because of Spotlight Season 2. And when I wanted to support Simple Farmer, I grabbed a bunch of his NFTs.
And I fully support him as a builder.
So it can't be all, oh no, it's not a home of NFTs.
Because it shouldn't be just the home of NFTs.
It should be a holistic ecosystem.
Where if you're a meme trader, there is a meme trading side.

you know for me when i look at it i would almost wish that they would have doubled down on nfts

And what you promised from season one to season two is it won't be a whale game.

People with 1,000, 2,000, 3,008 immediately are top of the list.
So that's something people are upset about.

the the ape chain community as a whole.
And like Simple Pharma said, I think I think they will start changing things.
You never know. Spotlight 3, they might have meme coins in, but I wonder if they're going to categorize it instead.
So they'll have a category for NFTs and then people who want to get involved with meme coins, they can do.
And then it will then balance itself out somehow.

So, and I agree with Reader about the meme coins.
The chain should be multi.
I can see where everyone else is coming from.
You know, I've been involved in meme coins since 2021.
You know, people win, some people lose.
And we're scared because we're an early chain,
an ape chain, we're scared of people
seeing us with a bad light.
We want everyone to see us be in this amazing chain.
And meme coins are, you know,
whether we like it or not, they're here to stay.
You know, you can't get rid of them.
You know, meme coins are part of crypto life.
It's just, you've got the option as a responsible person
to get involved in the meme coins,
whether you do it or not, you know, whether to partake in the meme coins.
However, like I say, you know, maybe the multipliers, you know, are a bit unfair on Spotlight,
but like I say, I think they're going to learn from this.
So we could, like, you know, this Spotlight 2 might have massive multipliers.
Next Spotlight 3, they might have learned.
I don't think they can change it right now because obviously people have been involved and spent money they can't just
go all right guys we're going to whip the multipliers off and we'll do something else because
you know it's not people have spent money on them etc so they can't just do that like
we can't just you know if as project founders we can't just change things like a drop of a hat when
a community member comes to us we have to sort of plan it and listen to their feedback and find out the best
way around it and then implement it.
So that's just my take on the spotlight.
Like I say, Simple Pharma, really, really love what you've done.
I don't know if he's, I think he's dropped down, but, you know,
if you want some extra liquidity, you know, it's on, on the chain,
it's probably one of the best other than like staking a Macy, you know,
or a Uger asset but i've on my pinned up one i think it's actually got me double uh by staking five thousand dollars
and five puppies it's got me double of what i had on my macy so it's really good tool and i think
they they're on about stopping the staking in december so if it is you know just a bit of alpha

got a UGA asset may flood into the clutch markets and try and get these pups you know to try and
stake them to then sort of offset what they were earning off from their board asset but that's not

as founders we deal with exactly the same thing down you know we have our community come and tell
us i don't like that you've done this or i do like that you've done this and we're kind of like

and we're the founders and we're their kind of thing going,
we don't like that you've done this, we think we're smarter than you,
or you've done really good this time, we like it.
So maybe just like Ape Chain as a whole needs to communicate more
with some of us founders and be like,
hey, this is what we're thinking as as the plan
i suppose the only problem there is uh the old the old trust the old insider trading uh so you
have to probably be quite careful in who you pick to like ask the questions to like do you think
this is a good fit do you think this is a good fit and try and work out what what all the founders agree on our our majority consensus agrees is a good
plan for a spotlight um but i i personally don't think they're doing a bad job this time i know at
the beginning we were all kind of a bit like oh meme coins who gives a about meme guns
but the the kind of more i've like interact with it i feel like it is a little bit
um maybe fairer i mean there, there's still, you know,
Reader up there with like 500,000 points
and Mo's up there with like a million points now
or something like that.
But there is a little bit more room
in the kind of mid-lower field
to get yourself in that top 100.
So I think that's a really good job.
And I feel like we keep forgetting as well
that the carrot is all of the prizes
in that thing it's not necessarily the you know what we can what we can flip and and dump and pump
in and around it it's the you know the carrot is the board ape essentially as reader was saying you
know one in a hundred chance is pretty good so if you if you hold the coins long enough and you don't
sell them you'll keep that spotlight multiplier you hold the coins long enough and you don't sell them,

which lets you have a chance at winning the big shiny carrot.
So I think it is good.

So that helped me out a lot, a lot actually in the multiplier. Plus if you, like Rita said,
if you're doing these daily tasks, all you have to do is put in one submission. If you put enough, they might select you. If you do it daily, you
know, and you get a five X multiplier, which is really, really good to, you know, just boost up
there. So just be active. I've actually had a good experience on my end from Spalto. Funny enough,
like I'm here saying like, oh yeah, I love what clutch markets and everything they're doing.
And like, you know, I'm not a big fan of meme coins.
Meme coins has been actually more beneficial because my bets haven't been the best, you know, like.
But but that's that's just, you know, how it goes sometimes.
And, you know, obviously there are certain a predicts that I want to highlight.
Also, I know Simphapharma was here before that are almost guaranteed dubs.
So you
could just put it in there. It's kind of like storing your money for a bit, but you might get
a little extra A. Go look out for those if you're playing the spotlight game. I just wanted to bring
it up because I hope there is just more of that rotation and we highlight other things, which I've
heard, but I think the feedback is so important. So that's why I want to double down on, like, Uncle Mac was saying that.

But I think hearing out people is, like, as long as they're not you know making it personal I know we've had past you know episodes in the space overall that I think is just
positive feedback and getting it back because I do see highlighting tokens is
beneficial well like like I read it was mentioning PNLs and stuff like that if
we see it on online things like like nugget in the long run is the one that
you can highlight you can definitely would want to put up there and and curtis i i double down with uh simple farmer was saying i
could see that being a long play also where whereas as long as we get you know uh a back around that
you know dollar range and and higher obviously like you you might see some of these long early
meme coins that have stuck around like you know uh, not a cult. There's also a few other ones.
Wong was mentioned. Wong has always popped in and out,
even from earlier in the GMMapChain show.
So I do think there will be some like long runners, you know,
some people that have some coins that will be around that will build a
community. I could even imagine seeing new meme coins, like meme coins,
not even tokens,
utility tokens or anything, meme coins that could rise from certain community members. It's just
like, I would like to see it, you know, done in more interesting ways and maybe, you know, maybe,
maybe more support, like than just the spotlight side, if that makes any sense. And no, no shade
to anyone, just some feedback from what i've heard you know from this
space uh uncle mac with the hand we're doing the hanging thing i guess originally i put the hand
up just to just to be british but uh i feel like i feel like there are some things in there so i
was like ah if i get my hands already up i'll talk um yeah i think you you're onto a good point you
you have taken some profits through the spotlight and that that should also be a thing that is applauded
because you just might not be able to actually get into the top 100.
So then there's no carrot for you if you can't make it into the top 100,
except there is because if you bought a small bag of something
or you mined some nugget, it pumped, and you could take some profits.
And it's probably fair to say, and you can take it
as financial advice or not financial advice. I'm not giving that financial advice though.
Some of these things probably will dump when Spotlight ends because there's no reason to
hold them anymore. So yeah, if you have some bags right now and you can take some profits and that
keeps you participating on 8chain and in Web3 and in the space as a whole,
then you should.
And you should let the other people hold the bag who are,
not because you want them to hold the bag,
but because they're holding their bag for a different reason, which is the spotlight multiplier,
which they're trying to hold to get the big shiny carrot, the Bored Ape.
So I actually think it is quite nuanced and quite good.
In some ways, it's helping the very, like, the very,
I don't want to say, like, small or little person in Web3,
but, like, the person who dabbles and picks up an NFT
and collects and does stuff that way, not the big whale holders.
So in that way, it is helping.
And someone messaged me and said, like, bro, I've got 60,000 Nugget
and it's now worth, like, $600.
And I was like fucking cool like
you could sell that if you wanted
to if you need it you can sell it now
and someone is probably wanting to buy it
to increase their spotlight position so you can
do that
and that's always great to hear
the more
it's progressing the more I am
quite a fan of this spotlight season.
So yeah, I just think it is beneficial in multiple ways.
We have people chasing the carrot, we have people who are able to get some profits
and not even feel bad because you're not passing the bag on to someone
who can't handle it or doesn't want it.
They want it for a different reason. So I think that's good. And then as well, it's just brought,
just from a personal point of view, it's brought a lot of people to kind of remember that they
mined a bunch of nugget and they've been keeping as ores. So they've gone and they've finally
claimed their nugget from their ores and now it's beneficial to them in the spotlight. And in some
cases they're selling it. As a funny case, someone went and claimed 45,000 nugget from the ores and now it's beneficial to them in the spotlight and in some cases they're selling it um as a funny case someone went and claimed 45 000 nugget from the ores that they mined
and sold it to the merchant and someone bought all 45 000 of that from the merchant instantly
and went and sold it on the lp and made a 4x um so r.i.p to that guy but also you know they had
their thing they sold it,
and someone bought it, and someone instantly arbitraged it,
which is one of the points I made about Nugget way back in the beginning.
There's this flick-flack that can happen.
You can buy low and sell high instantly on one system, really.
So cool stuff.
Yeah, and I'll double down again i would not have looked so deep into like
liquidity pools and like you know just releasing tokens how to do it like in interesting ways had
it not been for this season i honestly did not care just because of how like the meme coin casino
vibe started in solana you know in early 2025 2025 at the beginning with Trump and, you know, Libra and all
that mess. But honestly, now I find it super interesting, not saying that I'm planning to,
but like, I definitely looked more into how to like, you know, look at tokenomics in a responsible
way, I guess, quote unquote, responsible way, you know, or just like in an investor way, you know,
and trying to be a little bit more strategic and stuff. And, and we, we also were vocal about certain things, not like against the meme coin stuff,
just saying like, if you're going to play into it, you know, you know, play with what
you, with what you, you know, what you can risk, because I don't want people, for example,
to dive deep into the meme coin stuff and then start selling like, you know, like that
they're G's, they're gobs, they're not a not a punk school they're they're clutch puppies just to make up those
losses so i i think there's like there's a way that we can do it where like you know the
the whole space could kind of win because i do see the long-term potential i know i was in dutchy
space where i i would like to see some of these launches some of these airdrops happen on other
side you know have these tokens like actually as like 3d things that you can collect on someone's land. And that's how maybe,
you know, there's, maybe there's like whole land, or bags land, you know, you know, like,
and then you can go around and collect these tokens. And that'll be a fun way to like,
actually get, you know, more involvement into a whole ecosystem. It's just, I would like to see
a little bit more creativity, I'm not gonna lie. I mean,
and maybe that's because I started going into that rabbit hole and that's why it cycles back.
I see the positives. I just hope that a lot of the feedback from C1 has gotten to them. And I
think it is overall a better experience, I think. And I will double down. I think Alex was saying, please do not change the rules. We do not want that. Like,
that is not what I'm calling for at all. Like not in the middle of it. I think that'll only

the liquidity pool as well. So it's almost like practice round over here. We're doing
like the small stuff, ApeCoin, meme coins, and that could then influence someone to go
make real big bags somewhere else on mainnet.
I just wanted to give a reminder that even if you don't want to partake, and even if
you're only making 20 points, 100 points, 1000 points a day, or 5000 points a day, those
points are going also to your community.
So you quitting is actually damaging your community.
Because if you're delegating to 10 communities, those 10 points, those 100 points, when it's multiplied by 1,000, is a lot of points going away from your potential community where they will be swept for hundreds of thousands of dollars.
So even if you don't want to partake, you don't want a chance at one board, do it for your community, do it for the communities you're delegating to.

And that's a way to give back, maybe even activate your communities again,
something that people could take away from this to use it in interesting ways,
you know, and, and highlighting this stuff, I think is very key.
You don't necessarily have to partake, like go deep into it yourself,
but like I know Rick yesterday for she was Saturday he was he was giving out parlays and and you got
the love action from Super Farmer I think they're gonna run it back so it's like if your community
is already doing stuff like like fight night in the discord they're watching UFC fights for example
or NFL Sunday or or NBA games or you know or football football Fridays football Fridays, and you're watching Premier League or anything like that,
maybe add a couple of parlays and give it away to your community. That is a far away. You don't
necessarily have to gamble, but it's like a little risk way that you can highlight another builder
in the space as well as that. So I tip my hat to Rick, Rita, and Simple Farmer and doing that part
and highlighting no matter if you're involved in it or not, you can still highlight each other, which I think is something we take away.
A big reason why I don't mean to throw shade on it.
