my name is james i'm social lead over at rareable and i am just super excited about
this space because we have a really incredible guest a few guests a few speakers who will be
sharing about really i think probably one of the most well-known iconic brands that really everyone
can resonate with before we jump in i just want to point out a couple things you are all early and
we're all early we're all early in web3 but you all in particular are early to jumping in this

my co-host and our good friends from the team at gamisodes how are you all doing great doing great
thank you for having us this is you know it's a it is an exciting eve day if you will as we're
preparing for a pretty historical drop tomorrow so really great to be here and um so that i'm davis
founder of gamisodes and um i think we're even more fortunate to be joined here today with
the creative director and artist illustrator of the inspector gadget 40th anniversary collection
agnes garbosca thank you for having me
i love the energy and excitement agnes i'm just going to hand the mic to you tell us give us like
the elevator pitch version of who you are for those of us who aren't familiar with your work and um i'm
going to throw you a bunch of flowers during this because i've been looking at your work today and
oh my goodness you have done some stuff in this space and beyond but before i steal your thunder
tell us about yourself
hi there hi there thank you so much and i'm so happy to be a part of this project for gamisodes
in davis but for those of you who most likely don't know who i am my name is agnes garbosca i am
from publishing and comic books i have had the honor of course putting out my own really cool stuff
but i'm mostly known for working on my little pony teen titans go dc superhero girls care bears
a lot of titles you most likely heard about and now i have the honor of being part of something that
i grew up with as well which is inspector gadget so i'm so stoked to be a part of this project
i love this i actually i have some like very vivid memories of watching inspector gadget i i don't
remember how old i was i must have been like second or third grade when i first got introduced to
who that person and that character was and i remember playing with do you all remember connects
like those like the sticks and the gears like you snap them together i would try to make my own like
go-go gadget devices with connects and probably looked ridiculous but i loved it it was like my own
go-go gadget whatever i was making i don't even know but um i love the brand i love the nostalgia
that comes with it you know i just took and i literally just took a note and wrote that down
as one of our next contest coming up who can make the best go-go gadget gadget out of connects and
i also wanted to throw in there that if you read um my founder's article and there's a link to it on
our home page right now and i go through the kind of how game is so it's came to be the original idea
and there is a mention in there to connects so maybe we can do maybe we can do like an additional
allow list for the first person who finds that reference in there i'm so happy that you mentioned
that that brings back so many that is incredible that is incredible and i just want you all to know
we didn't plan that we did not talk about that i just shared that on the fly um but let's go back
to agnes i don't know if you all caught all of those names that she just casually dropped but
we've all heard of my little pony care bears teen titans go super did the dc superhero girls um
i i don't know that we've had quite the uh an artist that has quite the accolades that you do agnes and
i'm so happy that you're here um i can't wait to hear more about your story and how you got involved
on this project um we've had a few folks join since we started i just want to point your attention to

um davis do you want to give us like the introduction tell us what you're building
tell us about how you got involved with inspector gadget and what's going on this week oh man where
to begin um i'll try to keep it brief because when when you give me the microphone and tell me to
talk about gamisodes i could just go on forever but uh that's what i want no please do keep going
keep going so uh gamisodes is exactly what it sounds like when it comes down to it it's gamified episodes
and the way that we kind of think about gamified episodes is it's not just taking not just taking
one of the most iconic cartoons you know saturday morning cartoons on the planet remastering it and
turning it into a gamified experience so literally we have in production right now our our pilot
gamified episode of a remastered inspector gadget episode where several times throughout the episode
you you the viewer are now dropped into the episode and asked to help the characters overcome problems
and challenges little interactive scenes and mini games dispersed throughout um but we also kind of
realized and it was a big realization especially during covet i don't know if you guys have heard
of that but we're all at home you know watching every episode and season on netflix that is known to
mankind um but we noticed that like nobody ever really just watches tv anymore we're all watching tv
while we're on our phones shopping chatting with friends and playing candy crush and so this big
realization came about is like why why don't the streaming platforms today just combine it all
together why don't we just have one experience where we can watch our favorite shows play games
inside of them collect from them and hang out with our friends at the same time and ultimately the
reason and you know we can go into a lot of the details in another conversation is that's just not how
things are done that's not how these big companies were built that's not how the platform and the
infrastructure and the technology it's not what that can support and it's not what their business
models can support so it's not really anything to do with the consumers it's just to do with the fact
that that'd be a really hard pivot um understandably so you know i started talking with um with a lot of
people in the space and from the tv industry from gaming uh web 3 and collectibles and just kind of
pitched this idea and everyone's like you know you're absolutely right um that's what everyone's
doing and i was like all right then let's just build it if it's not out there let's just build it
so launched with this crazy idea met some amazing people along the way many of which are part of the
game so it's team now um one of which is sandra schwartz he's our head of content he's the former
president of warner brothers animation he is an emmy award-winning producer on a batman cartoon
so he knows he knows what he's doing he knows what he's talking about um uh another amazing person i
met is the one and only agnes garboska and we all just kind of really resonated on this on this dream
and said let's do it let's bring it together and then i'll round out with why inspector gadget
for the for obvious reasons one of the most iconic saturday morning cartoons of all time
um you know aired in countries all over the planet in languages of all different types
um and it's one that's still you know as as a kid old we call the kid old a kid adult
so us adults that have uh you know still have an inner child within us and are okay with that
watching a cartoon we still watch inspector gadget and still enjoy it but at the end of the day it's
a kid's cartoon and something we wanted to do with gamisodes is build a platform that is truly a
cross-generational fun for all ages platform adults can come in and buy nfts and buy digital collectibles
and collect their favorite childhood cartoons but by doing that you can also be unlocking content for
kids in your lives whether it's a sibling a niece or a nephew or your own kids so ultimately what we're
getting to in this grand vision is we are actually rewarded for collecting nfts we're actually doing
this for our kids because we're unlocking content for them by doing that so that's kind of a grand vision
and then i'll pass the mic off from there and see where we want to take it i love this i love what
you're doing because you're finding the intersections of art and nostalgia and utility everyone wants
utility in the space we all want to know what does holding this artwork do what do we get out of it
well this is something that's built far beyond just a membership nft or or having access to something
you're building something that is so much deeper i love this so much i want to i don't even want to
talk about it because i want agnes to talk about it i want agnes i'd love to hear from you like
what was what was the beginning process of you getting kind of brought into this project and
tell us a little bit about like you and your journey um i'd love just for you to kind of like
share with us a bit about who agnes is so maybe start there and then how you got connected with the
team uh yeah sure so little baby agnes coming all the way from poland my baby that's a little far back
but i've always been fascinated by cartoons animation comic books i am an immigrant from
poland and i didn't learn anything the traditional way i learned to talk thanks to cartoons and i learned
to read and write because of comic books so i learned everything backwards but because of the way i learned
and how i got into reading is exactly why i'm here today was cartoons i wanted to be an animator at one
point um and that's actually what i went to school for but i realized i kind of hate animating but i
love being a storyteller and there's so many other ways to tell stories and why not comics and illustration
and i got into comics and illustration professionally about 18 years ago and i absolutely love it i love
being a storyteller but i'm always a little bit more forward thinking compared to uh my peers and then i
found about this wonderful thing called nfts and being an artist who because of deadlines working
traditionally was very difficult and i work digitally a lot i'm like oh my god so you are telling me while
my entire industry is having a hoopla over this crazy word called nfts here i'm going guys guys look
at this thing it can make it beautiful for digital creators to create it can give us a voice it can help
us grow communities and i'm freaking out here about this really cool thing that everyone else is like
don't say that word you're gonna get in trouble so uh i might be a little bit of the black sheep in my
industry but because of being a little bit of the black sheep is why i got connected to someone like
davis it was actually will anderson who i know through my little pony he is an amazing composer
and just an amazing person and thanks to him that he connected me with davis and it was due to my
storytelling abilities and i got very fascinated with david's vision davis's vision because i'm like
okay so you're trying to do something different and here i am as someone who is looking at different
options for creators to do things and that's really where we were very like-minded and he kept coming up
like hey why don't we try this and it was a lot of trial and error even now it's trial and error because
we don't know what's going to work we don't know what won't work but whether it's my own personal work
whether it's working for game episodes i like trying new things i like experimenting you might
fail you might fall on your back i have plenty of time who says everyone knows how it is with nft space
you try but you might not succeed with the art space you try you might not succeed but you know what
we're gonna keep trying because i love what we're doing and we're doing it with all our heart and
guys now we're doing it with inspect your gadget so i'm just very excited for everything and i think
what's really cool is we're experimenting and we want to see this stick and we want to like
share our love with others so i really really hope that everyone's just as excited about this project as
i am i let's be honest i don't know if anyone can match your level of excitement i can feel your
energy coming through the phone and i love it so much you said black sheep that maybe you're the black
sheep in the industry i like maybe a little spin and to say pioneer um it's always hard to be one of
the first it's always hard to adapt new technologies and to be at the forefront because there's a lot of
critique people don't like change people don't like the evolution of what it means to explore
ownership of art and provenance on the blockchain and what digital collectibles mean whether we call
them nfts or digital collectibles or something else like the the foundation is there and i think
people are starting to realize it might be inevitable so props to you props to you for being
the risk taker and the one who's willing to uh to step out i have to call it out because i see two dogs
in your pfp can you tell us their names i just i love i love anytime someone's got their pets in their
pictures yeah it's olive and otis olive is right here beside me and she sometimes appears on some of
my streams and also on my art i dropped an nft collection where she was the star of that one
uh but the other one is otis unfortunately he did pass away at the start of the year he was 16 years
young and they were my dogs through my entire adulthood and they're mine so they're such a huge
impact on everything i do and a lot of the characters i create are also very inspired by
my dogs but yeah that's olive and otis and yeah otis was a good boy and olive still one of the best
girls around i love that so much and i'm sorry for your loss but i love i mean i pets pets are like
family that's it and i we could talk about that all day but i'll save everyone in the audience from me
going on the soapbox about my pets um i love what we're talking about here because there's something
interesting about kind of this intersection of old brands and i don't even like the old the word old
it's more like these brands that have so much deep reputation and legacy like they are in their own
right these massive ips that have so much rich storytelling um inspector gadget is a great
example of that and seeing inspector gadget come into web 3 is for me it's like when worlds collide
but in a good way it's like the nostalgia of my childhood meets the thing that i'm so excited about
building on today in web 3 and technology um i would love just to hear a little bit more
about what you all think about the kind of convergence of web 2 brands or even brands that
sort of existed pre-web that are now entering this new technology why do we think that is why
why does that make us bullish on the future davis i'm going to hand the mic to you because i think
you probably have some good insight on this yeah for sure um i mean there's i'll give like the the
honest answer right there are multiple reasons there's the the business side of it and you know
like for brands to find new lines of revenue for their brands um there's the fan side of it to give
fans um even more access and ways to connect with the brands there's the creative side of it which
i'll let agnes touch on as well um but with for gamisodes and and specifically with the classic
inspector gadget because this is a a a brand and cartoon that you know it's from 1983 literally
40 years ago inspector gadget is turning 40 i don't know if you guys knew that um so we're doing
something a game of so it's called a classic comeback with uh starting with inspector gadget but
it's just the first um of these nostalgia shows and brands where instead of it's not you know it's not a
remake it's not a reboot it is a classic comeback and what that means is we're taking all of the you
know the latest and greatest technology and development tools um available to us and we're going back into
the original shows that we know and love and grew up watching as kids and transforming them into 21st
century experiences and so by doing that what we're doing is we're honoring the original brand we're
honoring the original characters the original soundtracks the original episodes themselves
um we're not creating new characters and adding in new storylines we're not completely redoing the
animation with these we're going in and just transforming them into entirely new experiences but
with that same nostalgia and so again that's what we call a classic comeback um and you know it's a lot
of fun because it there a lot of times you'll see a reboot or a remake of um something that we grew up on
and it is so different that it's just not even recognizable you know it's not even enjoyable but
instead we wanted to create something where hey like if we have kids in our lives we can watch the
original it's about your gadget episodes remastered beautifully remastered we can play those with the
with those kids in our lives or just by ourselves if we want to and have those exact same nostalgia
memories that we had growing up so a bit of a different approach and i would say you know it it offers
really unique creative opportunities and probably create you know unique creative challenges and i
would throw it over to agnes to uh comment on all the crazy stuff that we've been conjuring up here
and and and how she's been approaching it the really really cool thing about taking a property as
iconic as expector gadget especially from someone who watched it is going back and remembering those
moments and now bringing them to life and recreating them for for example this collection like what makes
it fun it's like well i remember this episode of inspector gadget and this happened what about the
intro the intro has these key moments and it's really cool from a creative standpoint looking back
taking those moments taking those snapshots reinventing them and really playing around with them to create
new imagery as we did for this collection we take those key moments but we recreate them we make them
ours but there's that nostalgia factor that i get to play with and every time i create an image it's
really cool going my gosh i remember this episode where this and this happened so as a creative director
i have so much to play with and i have a backlog of all these episodes to tap in and create and create
new moments i love this there's so much nostalgia so much like rich history and like you said it's
not how did you word it you said it's not a reboot it's a um what was the word you used davis
classic comeback classic comeback like that's the story everyone likes a comeback story everyone likes
the rebirth of something that was so good and we all have so many fond memories of and when you're able
to bring that into kind of the newness of what this day and age means and the kids today but also
and i love the phrase you use kidults like i very much resonate with that like i can enjoy
watching cartoons i'll you know you'll you'll find me losing myself to the next episode of bluey and
that's you know that can happen it's good it's wholesome if you guys aren't watching cartoons you
all need to be it's good for you um but there's something about it that like not only is our generation
and i don't know how old you are but i think we there are many generations that can span the gap
of inspector gadget and the youngest generations who are alive today get to enjoy it yet again um
what a beautiful story i love that so much um i want to just really quickly here we've got quite a
few new listeners in and i want to reset the space um we probably will go on for another like
15 20 minutes or so we won't quite hit the full hour mark but we are here with our friends from
gamisodes and we have the wonderful agnes who is here as um just maybe one of the most legendary
artists that i've had the pleasure of speaking with but um this team here is bringing inspector gadget

going to shift gears a little we've talked about art we talked about nostalgia our friends from flow

a little bit about why flow why um kind of why that direction was chosen give us a little bit about
like what that means for people who are interested in buying and why that decision was made
yeah it was an easy decision for us um to be honest you know we we took our time i would say
and really talking with um with all of the block you know all of the blockchains at the time
um that were you know potential options and we kind of we we discussed the vision for gamisodes
and that we we really um view the the platform as a whole becoming a bridge in a way between
today's average consumer and what i would call the pioneers you know the those who are early and
already are adopting the web3 technologies um and so we wanted to be able to build in a way that has
all of the the tremendous um opportunities that web3 presents and starting initially with just the
basic concept of um digital property rights if you buy something online you should be able to own it
um just like in the real world and um but we wanted to be able to do it in a way where
anyone can get involved anyone can start collecting um and peel back those layers of how to then truly
own uh those if they want to when and if they want to and um i know that a lot of you know a lot of
other blockchains are starting to introduce those types of things but this is something that flow was
built for uh is our understanding and um a lot more of this is coming to light even just this week
with with announcements from the flow blockchain so um you know initially you might you might have
thought ah it's a bit smaller you know it's definitely not as um as big as ethereum or the
l2 polygon but at the end of the day we're building for today and the future and we saw um flow being the
right choice for both of those i love that we have worked with flow before i'm personally friends with
some of the folks at flow they are an incredible team they're doing some great work in this space
and in the ecosystem we talk a lot about like what does the future of web3 mean what does it hold how
do we how do we tangibly onboard the masses like everyone talks about and i think flow is one of the
many great examples of teams who are doing that work they're laying the foundation to say we need web3
to be more accessible and to be more inclusive and to be um a little less daunting some of us have
been okay with learning the hard way we've we came up through the bull run last bull run and we've learned
some things that maybe we learned with a lot of uh hidden nfts and hidden collectibles in our wallets
that um we're maybe embarrassed to talk about but teams like flow are doing such a good job of
making sure that the future users of web3 has have a safe and seamless experience so props to them we
had to give them some flowers i see they're um hanging out here on this space um i'd love maybe
we can shift gears one more time and i'd love just to hand the mic back over to agnes so you've been
an illustrator you have worked on some incredible brands some incredible stories some really just
amazing art that is recognizable all around the world i'm i'm wondering what what makes this special
for you as an artist like what what brings inspector gadget onto your plate in a way that you say like
oh this is this is a challenge that i want to tackle this is something i want to work on
how how does that like how does that resonate with you as an artist
uh yeah uh one of my random skills which isn't a skill that just appeared it's what i trained is
i can adapt my style to just about any style as long as it's a cartoon style
and it's something i train myself to do because i'm like wait not a lot of people can do this but
because i am able to be a chameleon you say hey can you draw this i'll be like all right give
me a minute and i'll train myself to do it very quickly but it gives me the opportunity to feel
like i go full circle with things when you grow up watching a cartoon as significant as the inspector
gadget and then you start working on the property you really feel like you've come full circle because
this is something that inspired you i wanted to be penny growing up and like any dog i had was brain
at the time because i was penny i wanted to go on those adventures when i watched the show i was
tagging along solving those mysteries trying to stop inspector gadget from getting himself
in trouble and that's what makes this project very significant for me because now i get to work
on penny i get to draw a brain and it's it's such a surreal feeling and i'm really grateful for it but
it's not something that just appeared out of thin air it's something i trained myself to do i've trained
myself to seek these opportunities and really take full advantage because i am penny now i'm drawing penny
penny but i am penny i love this so much i think i i i don't even have anything i can add to that
because there's so much beauty in having that type of story where like when you originally watch these
cartoons i mean i spent most of my childhood wishing i was spider-man wishing i was batman
doing everything i could to like embody those superheroes and in a lot of ways when i was making my
connects gadgets and trying to be inspector gadget like we all have those kind of when you're a kid
you let that be your imagination and now you get to like embody that in a really unique really fun way
i love that thank you for sharing that with us that's so cool um i want to wrap up the space and i want

illustration designs in it that we've grouped as a trading card a postcard and an art print
each of those has five rarity tiers uncommon through legendary so the each of those three
product categories has 1,983 editions uh and 1,983 that is 1983 the year that inspector gadget first
came out so 40 years ago so in total across all three of those designs with the five rarity tiers
there's there's 5,949 in total supply um we decided to make the legendaries which are the redeemable
uh a key to the redeemable unlocks and some of it is a redeemable unlock for some of them
is five percent of the supply so um kind of kind of similar to some of the past drops that you might
have participated in with uh redeemable unlocks and maybe a little bit on the higher side
um so i think that answers the question there but if there's anything else i can certainly dive into

this up and we talk about this at rarible a lot um we believe it won't be long from now where nfts
whether we call them nfts or not will be as common as email and that future i think becomes more and
more reality the more that we see brands like inspector gadget for example entering into the space
with more than just hey we're doing a drop of cool art it that in and of itself is great but there's so
much more there's so much depth here that i think really starts to show what the power of the blockchain
this technology and the power of what it means to have a brand that has so much legacy and so much
um history and richness coming together into really what is the forefront of technology in web3
i can't say it enough we're so bullish on the future of this space because of projects like this
