What we do have is a great conversation with founder and CEO of one of Scales newest partners, Trace Finance. Without any further ado, I'm going to throw it over to our host for today, my colleague Jordan. Jordan, take it away.
How's everyone doing? Hope everyone's having a good morning evening afternoon wherever you are My name's Jordan. I'm a marketing manager here at scale and joining us today for for a quick conversation is Tal for from a trust finance So Tal how are you how are you doing today great house of guys?
I just got my fans released from SVB so the day is looking much better. Oh, that's great news. Awesome. Yeah, so I guess we can just get right into it. You know, we would love to, you know, hear a little bit about yourself, how you got into crypto,
personally initially and then how and why you started trespying in. Sure. So before Trace, I was actually a venture capital investor here in Israel, part of a fund called F2 venture capital. And we invested in different
Domains mostly generalistic so we did cyber security with the DevOps with the FinTech with the insurance of stuff and then in 2018 when Arc blockchain and crypto so becoming a hot topic I saw looking into that space and that's when we
kind of invested in the first blockchain company in the fund called Portus, which was a wallet that was later acquired by ShapeShift. So I led the deal there and I was really intrigued about the technology and the use cases and I started following the space and of course I wasn't
to invest in more companies in the space out of the fund. I hope I don't know how many people around here remember the winter, but it was a very difficult winter. I got kind of a instruction from the fund managers to stop investing in those areas.
we had the Web 3 rebranding of the whole space and NFTs became very popular and it was a huge trend and that's when I got the order to go back into the space and start looking into it and that's what I did for the whole of 2022. We did about
investments in the space and that's where I encountered the whole challenge when it comes to financial data, ordered reporting accounting for crypto and blockchain in general and that's when I united with my co-founder Elon and Missola Trace Finance.
Very cool. So you made the shift from the VC world into more so the building space. That's very cool. So would you mind telling us a little bit about the basics of what what dress finance does exactly? Sure. So essentially when we saw the company
We knew we were going to build a B2B enterprise grade solution, a lower macro fund that comes from the sub security background, sending to very heavy enterprises. We knew we're going to try and leverage our strengths in data. And we're still looking into the space.
And what we saw is that many finance teams in Web 3 companies are struggling managing the financial data. And there was such an influx in the amount of wallets and
of what it's an exchange and layer ones and add to and devive products and NFTs and just cause a situation where there was silence of data was very difficult to aggregate all the data makes sense out of it for different reporting orders in account.
