um and i think the way we'll we'll go about this is i don't know we'll just fucking wing it
realistically i'd like to talk to as many of you as possible in terms of questions comments
concerns whatever um but yeah so i think we'll just give it a few more minutes and we'll get

it's whatever um yeah so i think uh in terms of scheduling and timing uh
okay sorry in terms of uh scheduling and timing i think we'll run probably 45 minutes to an hour
um maybe less if it ends naturally in less time um i think that would like to do this more frequently
i think one of the main things we see in chat is oh we want founders on spaces we want to have spaces
town halls stuff like that um so i'm hoping that's something we can kind of discuss uh as we progress
through this um and yeah i mean i think at any point feel free to request um we'll call on you
we'll kind of move around we'll go speaker by speaker and just kind of figure out what's going on
um we're happy to talk about absolutely anything um and yes i mean i guess we'll get started
let me go ahead and bring up aldrin he's been requesting since he first joined what's up aldrin how's it going
word okay um anyway so i guess in that case we'll talk about phase two um i think uh honestly it's
kind of gotten lost a lot's been going on in the past 24 48 hours to the point where in chats it's
mostly just talking about um i guess seeing everybody on twitter seeing all these things
um so in terms of phase two um the last update we gave was probably a week ago and we talked about
being ready to go within the week um i'm not gonna say tomorrow for sure but we're looking pretty good
for a launch tomorrow night if not the night afterwards and um you know we'll kind of put out
our announcements and that type of stuff um in the coming hours or days whatever um so yeah i don't
know i really would someone come the fuck out stop being so shy right
suddenly everyone doesn't have any questions
or or if you want um i'll look at the discord if you want to drop a question i'll be happy to read it

for sure jake what are you excited most about uh phase two i'll be the first question about that
uh okay um i don't know i think that um at its base i'm not gonna say it's the most exciting use
case for its potential moving forward but with phase two i think just the idea and ability that
it will have in the future and in terms of scalability and building on top of it should be
interesting um would kind of like to really bring the idea into play and just like phase two is our way
of introducing the gcon ecosystem into this sort of concept um so it probably won't be the most
glamorous um out of this world crazy newest thing ever but it is just kind of like a teaser of um
you know what's to come and just getting everybody acclimated uh to a new system that would like to go
i guess down the route of um and just continue to build out and create infrastructure for in the future
so that's that's it for me yeah when we were in sf we you and i talked about how we're taking a
an existing idea and bring it to fresh light basically um we want to make people see it in a new light
yeah i just want to i just like getting holders more follows uh everybody's dropping like 93
follows 89 follows 69 follows i like that part some guy got like 200 follows that's crazy like he went
from like 25 or something he got 205 this morning that that's a huge w to me you know the um the
operation gcon fall gcon i think i don't know when we first talked about doing it we're being candid
now at this point but when we first talked about doing it i just thought of doing it the way we we
did the first time around and that was just having everyone's like put their names on the sheet and
just doing it that way um but i think that incentivizing what it was in ways and just like soul
good ways and all these other things through suburb which is obviously how we're doing it um has been
an interesting i guess new spin on it um and like even me like i i had you throw my ad on the list of
fucking requirements i've gotten like i don't know how many but i think 50 followers 60 followers so i
don't know it makes me smile to see because that was something that you really wanted to focus on and
just kind of push for so it makes me glad that it's working properly
yeah definitely i do want to hear people's feedback on it um so just my approach i don't
want anybody to get shadow banned so that's why i'm capping it at around 15 for each round um and
then i just today i just i put into our team chat it's like i saw pebble it's like oh anybody drop
their cat i'm gonna follow you yeah if he follows 300 cats into today he's gonna get shadow ban himself
so do be careful out there um you know definitely follow each other engage um but don't act like a
bot so you won't be treated like a bot uh that's something we're trying to control and that's why
somebody was asking me like oh why did you pick that guy uh i'm just like one below him um really
because i want to cap it so i don't want people just go ham and follow up a bunch everybody gets
shadow banned that's for one and the other two uh condition i'm looking at is you know of course having
a gcon pfp will be top consideration and but i do know that twitter you know is pretty
it's doing things for people that you don't want it's hard for people to change their pfp so if you
don't have a gcon pfp you will be considered as long as you are active and you do interact with the
community and the account so these are the main things i consider and i do want to i'm doing like
a sandwich approach uh where i want to you know bring light to some of our our community members
that don't have a huge following so getting them to that first hundred getting them to that first
200 i think that really really helped and also i will be starting to highlight our whales as well
um just to you know show show the world what these people are who they are and you know they're they
have really strong conviction and just by doing that right like you know we're getting everybody
active engaged uh our whales are honestly our best shoulders if you look at try hard you know or someone
uh like spider they they're constantly constantly posting so is the team everything you know and i'd like
talk about that and then we go to hud raz and aldrin's back um no i i do want to say um something
that you know we've been working on as a team and just trying to communicate is um the presence on
social media i feel like it's always like that's what we've been lacking is just like constantly
keeping that presence keeping that attention whatever and i think that like i'm seeing a bunch
of gcon pfps in the audience because it is obviously a gcon ama but first of all they look fucking sick
but besides that um no like it does it has way more of a difference than than you think it does
like and it's like okay like why would me changing my pfp really matter like it's i'm one person like
what is my singular tweak gonna do um in single quantities it may not feel like a lot but when you
do have a group of people that are kind of pushing it in a healthy way and i tried to touch on this um
in the update that ben and i kind of coincided and wrote together um it is just like all it takes is one
person to kind of make a difference and shift the way that people see things um and i think that you
know the best thing that we can do in terms of trying to grow our community and just continue to
grow as a project is throw on the pfp if you want to obviously if it suits you and i know some of you
are iffy about your pfps because they aren't officially on chain yet and that's fine um but
throw on the pfp and just go hang out in other communities like go make friends just go be yourself
you know what i mean you don't always have to be like oh like go buy gcon go buy gcon
just be present and be helpful and um that's like kind of the message i've been trying to give
but i think that over the past couple days like everybody's been doing a beautiful job it feels like
we're on the same page and i just wanted to say thank you um as well but yeah let's go to

the topic just because i still can't get a straight answer from nobody anybody in my life web
three or even from twitter for that fact i'm definitely shadowband has nothing to do with
your guys event uh i raid hard for a bunch of people a bunch of projects how do i get this
on shadowband does anybody know like how do i get followers again i was like steady climbing about to
hit 300 and then it's just like do you have twitter blue i don't so i'll pay for twitter blue
that might be the issue you're not paying enough money to elon musk you know
no you might want to remove that bloomsville um you know like icon off your name that might help

uh i really don't know i think you talked to your support and asked what's going on
and i kind of look at the stats and what we've been doing you know tone it down a little bit maybe
yeah no i've heard that before you're probably right i did try to reach out to twitter and they're
like yeah we don't see anything wrong with your account you know it's not deactivated i feel like
they don't want to admit when it's a shadowband or something but um yeah no i i love what you guys
okay so here's what makes you say you're a shadowband why do you think people can't see i mean i know
because i was getting followers people can't see certain like i think unless they're following me
they can't see even when i tag them or um they can't see my comments i've had numerous people say
that to me and then um normally i was getting retweets likes followers because i was rating so
hard and then that all stopped but yeah try try doing this okay so first um do you consider just
paying for one month of twitter blue later i'll drop an alpha on twitter blue uh i shared that with
crap the other day but i'm gonna tell you guys later um and then the next few things i want you
to post will be um like your own post like do a thread i'll do one about jake because i told you i
would yeah yeah yeah do it uh do one about gcon do about anything else do a few like you know unique
posts rather than retweeting other people um so again just like don't behave like a bot like if you
don't want to get treated like a bot um and then tweet some pictures you can tweet some of your own
pictures you know your real life pictures uh video content so just a variety of different content
and uh just make it unique and then try try a month of twitter blue that's good advice okay that's good

i think hud does that as well uh i think a lot of people are actually uh or should i say a lot of
the whales are actually uh getting involved with the communication in um in discord twitter um
and i think the the run itself that actually happened i think it was purely driven by a
community uh spirit itself so i think i think that's that's a very good sign i mean um yeah but
i i i would just like to understand itself i mean in terms of um phase two um is it going to be
something that the community can constantly interact uh uh with up to the point of um the art review
indeed it is um it is something you guys can constantly yeah i know you guys have been looking
for something like that for a while um and yeah it's something you could you could do it a thousand
times you could do it once you could do it zero times you could do it however many times you want
um and then with phase three it'll kind of add another layer of complexity to it and yeah it is a it
is something that does have some longevity so you guys can constantly um you know just do whatever you
please with it okay okay that's that's that's good so uh no no alpha for phase two no that was
that was that was that was good alpha um that was that was mid alpha okay okay i would encourage
to do it a lot in in the long run in the grand things the uh the thing that is yielded from
phase two will probably be important in potentially getting something cool that's your
that's your slightly slightly better alpha but yeah oh yeah anyway just just to share a personal

point but my question is dude i've been hearing a lot of talk about jacan studios um on the on the
tl and i've been trying to like maybe i'm just absolute dog water at doing research but so i see
that like there's a bunch of really dope pfps in here and i guess this is for phase two coming out
and i'm wondering are these like sneak peeks or are these like actually part of like something i can
buy into because like bennett has like an absolute fucking banger one uh shout out to crowns with
the flower tea is is nuts and i want one dude so i've been bullish i've been seeing a lot of
bullish sentiment on the project i've been seeing a lot of the utes fam talking about it um and i
haven't bought into much other soul projects in a while so this one's been kind of on my radar for
a while now so like if i know i'm absolute dog shit at doing my own research apparently but if anyone
wants to fill me in maybe you've touched on it a little bit already but i know phase two is coming
up like what's kind of like the timeline for that um like are these sneak peeks that are the pfps and
not actually out yet like what's kind of like the scoop yeah so i think bennett i'll have you
bennett you can answer it and then i want to touch on it at the end i guess just in terms of what we
are doing with the art but yeah go for it sure i'll talk about the vision i mean honestly we kind
of want to set a new standard in solana we want to be um number one but we also want to do it the
correct way uh jake and i again i bring this up constantly because he and i had a great discussion
when i visited him in san francisco um in order to be number one you kind of can't rush the process
i know that we've taken our time with this and that's with good reasons well um we know kind of
where we want to take this project we know how to achieve it and we know the timeline in terms of
what we need to achieve what we need to do in order to um like make sure that the art is correct
the utilities that we want to provide are made well and you know quality assurance is tested properly
um but other words i mean in full is this we want to make a new standard essentially we want to make
an impact we want to be number one but jake you want to touch on the art a bit yeah no so okay these uh
these are sneak peeks they're so we have a gallery and if you go on our if you go on our twitter bio
it's like gcongallery.xyz i think is the domain it's linked um so the pfp you know besides mine and
bennett um i think are all those traits that are from that gallery website where you can kind of just
turn on if you want to try a different skin type if you want to try a different hair different like
accessory in the hair so on and so forth um that's where like all of these are coming from
um but from then we haven't updated that site and i don't really plan on updating it until the
art is fully done um in terms of quality and colors and all these different things like
these traits are outdated and i think like there's some of them i just don't like looking at anymore
but it's besides the point um so yeah you can kind of get an idea on the uh on the gallery website of
i guess where the process was a couple months ago or i don't know how long ago it was it was a while
um but so phase two is not the actual reveal of the art that will come with and i'm not going to
put a timeline on it because it's again like we're not gonna push it until every okay the idea is that
every gcon that we generate rarity or no rarity should look clean um without different rules in
place without like setting rules so that x trade and y trade cannot be stacked on top of each other
like we're really just trying to draw a cohesive and just like a color relative color cohesive
collection um and i'm not going to put a timeline on that because we're still learning as well um i
like to say generative art is a science and the first time through like we didn't like it the second
time we've finished two or three times now it's just it hasn't hit and we really feel like we only
have one shot at this and we're not gonna you're not gonna rush it so i can't give you a timeline on
actual art delivery but the reveal process will be fun it'll be cool um phase two is not the reveal
but it will be another utility that you guys can interact with whatever and that'll be coming in
the days so i hope that ants um the dude does for sure because i'm looking i'm looking to uh to deploy
some capital bro because the way i look at it man there's the the throne is for the taking um and in my
opinion like i've been on i've been on eath obviously for a while but i've been keeping my eye on the
soul market for a while and and i think ultimately people are waiting for that project to come out
that that shows signs that they're they're willing to to go for fucking gold um and i kind of been
getting that vibe like i've been keeping track of like some community members and the tweets marketing
content this and that um and yeah man i think the art is like i'm super bullish on the art like and i
apologize for anyone who's like soul maxi but in my opinion like a lot of the soul art is absolute
trash there's some like great one-on-one artists on there that i follow and buy into
but uh i love that i love the pfp bro like it's absolute fire and i think like art's important um
and i'm glad that you guys are making like a huge focus on that because that's essentially going to
be your legacy you know that shit's going to be on chain like forever so yeah i'm hype man i'm going
to keep track um anyone want to shoot me a dm like tell me what like the rarest ones i should be

terms of saying like taking the throne all these things um and just marketing content everything
i'll be the first one to say that as a project and as a team we are still learning and we're still
trying to just get into the i guess the groove of things and just understanding what works for us
versus what doesn't um and we have looked to like a web to approach for that i think that apple does
like a beautiful job so that's something we've been kind of playing with um not necessarily over
hyping not necessarily like completely being silent just finding the right balance um and just being
honest about where things are to some extent i think that transparency and honesty and just the
value in that outweighs the speculative asset in some instances obviously it is a speculative market
um but yeah we're just trying to do it right and i think that art is subjective um but there is
definitely the right way to design a profile picture and the wrong way and i will also say we've been
doing it the wrong way up until this point or a couple weeks ago and i think that's we kind of had
a breakthrough and i like the direction that we're going and i'm feeling really confident with um
these new rules and just like strategies in place but yeah i think we'll go to jacks now
okay uh so first of all you are allowed to roast my pfe while i'm here uh because krupp did a very
good job last time but by actually roasting my pfe you guys will get an idea what he's going through
and what are the changes so basically by his center my pfe is dog shit at this point uh because uh we have

uh that i invited on the space and i have been curious like on jiken for quite some time and you
know like the thing that like i really liked uh about jiken is and i've been like surprised uh was
like how strong the community is you know like the whole nft market right now is down like you know
like you look at any other projects uh you know like everyone is is getting wrecked right now and
then i'm just like so surprised of like how strong everyone have been you know particularly like
like everyone you know like when someone has a question on general like a chat you know everyone
is like always answering like always available and what i i did really love was like you know the
fact that like curb took some time with me uh jump on a on a one-on-one call you know explain a bit
the process and you know it's just something that like you don't find like uh you know a lot of like
other projects and when you look at the art like you know i completely agree with ruto like
besides like youths uh and digas like it's just hard to like find uh like good art and that's why
like you know i like the trajectory like jiken is taking you know it might take some time but i
definitely think it's worth it and you know like right now like it's kind of like everyone is kind
of like uh keeping like their money off like you know on the sidelines because of soul like you know
it went up like pretty fast and i do think like you know there's gonna be like a huge bull run like
whenever a youth is gonna go to polygon and diga is gonna go to to east you know like is there gonna
be like a lot of liquidity coming into into soul and like you know everyone is just looking for like
brand new product like like something fresh like refreshing because everything is like kind of boring
right now uh in the soul state and i do think like jiken like has a great chance of of being that
project like everyone's gonna be aping in and i i just like love the transparency like you know like
whenever you have a question can ask anyone like everyone is always rating and it's just like
surprising like when you look at the market like when you look like at any other like discord chat
like you know besides like digaids and like youth stories like kind of active but i don't know like i'm
just super bullish and you know i'm just super excited like for followers to come and like you know if
anyone has any questions like feel free to like you know even dm me i have some time or like even like

we were down horrendous like tldr down fucking horrendous and i think that within that community like
those core group of guys that you are seeing in general chat um are the guys that
have kind of been here for a while and they just know how it goes and um you know we really do have
that strong foundation where like you can come into chat and they'll always answer they'll always be
there like it's just there's something about it where i feel like i haven't experienced it in any
other community where it's just like the same guys show up and just provide value every single day
and i just cannot say thank you enough because it really does create that like very welcoming um i guess
just intro to the project so hud i have to thank hud i don't i don't give you enough credit i don't
give you enough praise whatever um but i really think that you have curated that that type of culture
here um and i just i do want to personally say thank you in more of a public sense thank you i appreciate
it uh i've been here for a while even when everyone was running away i'd be the guy pushing them back
and stopping them for whatever reason right it was a lot of months and when i first became a manager
i was like what the fuck do i do with this right and to be honest it got me really creative it got
me really passionate and then for me i really wanted to bring this around i wanted to make sure that
everybody on the team deserves what they deserve like we like in this in solana it's a very fast
paced community where she could hit the bed the next day or the next week or something happens
right and i've been we've been through all together and i wanted to like keep going like it's like it's
a grind right we just fucking keep going and we keep fucking you know help each other out and then
like you know like chill each other or like you know just make it a good place to be because to be
honest like we've been through a lot everyone here has probably been through ftx or you know a lot of
or been here for a long time right that's why we're still here right because we're fucking built
different really but like there was a lot of futters and i learned how to deal with that i learned how to
deal with everything in a different way it took a long time it's probably been six eight months now
but i've learned a lot and i've gained a lot of friends and i've gained you know a lot of value
experiences that will help me in life later on too right and i appreciate everyone you know coming
here today and listening to this ama because you know the team works so hard right and you know
i know we're not we're not finished yet we're gonna keep going and we're gonna keep like keep
pushing until you know we're we make it and we're all well you know we all make it together because i
don't want anyone left behind whoever supports us or anybody right and and it's gonna be us and
we're gonna be all happy you know fucking with our yachts and whatever but you know that's that's
the goal right i think that's a huge part of it too i think uh like hud especially and the entire team
the fact that we're all in chats and you know like we're all just regular guys learning and
learning the process and we want to make sure that there's no sort of ego going on where
it's difficult to reach out to hold or to the the admin team or whatever and that you know we're all
here hoping to answer questions and get people in into the project and get them passionate about it
and you know it's just we're just here to do that
i think uh i want to give you more flowers hud um publicly i feel like you'll give yourself enough
credit um there was i'm gonna tell a brief little hud story there was we were on a call and he was
like i don't know hud just like doubts himself but you always doubt yourself you don't need to
um when i had that i guess private call with the whales that day and i asked everybody i said oh like
why did you buy jacon like what was it for you and like everybody said it was you and i know the goals
i know you have the goals like you have set in web 3 i know what goals you want to accomplish in this
space um don't count yourself out and and don't think that you don't provide the value that you
know you're telling yourself you don't provide because literally every single person in that call
one of the deciding factors was you so just keep pushing keep working like um you're one of my
favorite people to talk to and i i just appreciate you a lot of course that's where uh that's why we
be surviving i'm the only reason why gcon's still here okay okay okay all right let's relax a little
bit let's relax but yeah i don't know um i don't know anybody new questions new comments anything
potentially not jackson any quest scored
uh i'm looking right now so while i do that uh why there's a couple of stories you can share
do you want to share the pink one or the uh background color one i don't like it when you
put me on the spot with this type of stuff i like it though i got i got a story i got a story
yeah go for it all right so okay when we first started announced the art upgrade um we we were
like one of the first uh like group uh nft projects to announce the art upgrade right and we're like oh
there's two projects that were doing it and we don't want to name the other one but you guys are
knowing it right we haven't done it we haven't pushed our art because we didn't want to push up
bad art we researched over like a hundred different artists on form function uh form function and like
we kept looking what what would work for us because you know every artist does a different style like
what matched with us so picking dinrath and arkenfu like has been amazing because they have a very uh
asian style too right like even though we made like we made them draw like very clean pfps that's where
our goal is like picking out of a hundred artists we picked them because specifically they work so
hard and they're so passionate about their work right like i've seen them draw such amazing things
that i think you know the whole team appreciates them also right because we don't give them enough
credit still right they're still working hard right now right and that's i think you know picking a
good artist and you know having a good connection with them is like the most important thing with for
any project to do any uh pictures right so i don't know i i will carry on that story because i
i don't know i i kind of lost you kind of lost me on that one but yeah i kind of got lost there sorry
about that no this is this is a good one i like this one a lot um no so we fucking and it was funny
because hud would just like send me a list of artists just artists artists artists non-stop and i would
always just fucking tell them no and eventually we ended up we ended up landing on arganfu and
jinrath and um they're both from indonesia they're both like they're fucking great um i don't know the
process of actually buying an artist took like probably a month and a half and i think um for
everybody listening that's like oh maybe i want to work with our industry maybe you know so and so
so and so so and so um when you're picking artists it's not necessarily how they're drawing or what it
looks like that's like the first impression but what really matters is the passion that they have
for what they're doing um their ability to respond to criticisms and also just like if they're drawing
for you know the money that you're on to them or if you're or if they're drawing because they enjoy
um and and they're creative about it so i will say that um ds welcome aboard but wait all right
wait do we want to you know ds hello and then we'll go to side you out there hey what's up guys
how's everyone doing pretty good ds how about you i've been listening for a little bit so um
yeah i mean just it's really good like you know guys like i'm really bullish on the art upgrade and
it's probably you know like you see a lot of projects like coming with their um art revamps
and all of that and a lot of them like end up disappointing but i think like you guys have been
doing like the the right thing like taking the time and just not trying to rush things at the end
of the day right so it's it's if you are in for like for the long term in the project i think like
there's no point in rushing it and i think you guys have been taking the the a really good approach
with that so i probably i just have one question like regarding that process that you've been through
like what are the best three learnings that you've had so far like over the last couple of months like
working on this revamp and pretty much like trying to give a new face uh to gcans what what's like
those three learnings that you would say like man like this this and this yeah i i'd like to go
first and then after kind of go around i think everyone's gonna have their own take on it and
then you know i'll make it quick um for me i think that um less less is more has been one of the the
bigger lessons for me um you know we tried to kind of draw traits for us we kind of have to our
rarities are all types of fucked up in terms of making sure we maintain rarities so we have to
draw the traits and legendary traits to feel legendary or mythic and the first times around
like they were just kind of obnoxious and they were like covered with color and they were just
like all over the place and you know from a cohesive perspective that's just not how you do it
um i think the next rule is like creativity is great but to some extent in a generative sense um
there does need to be rules and you need to be strict about it um something we're working on right
now is just making sure that the colors were picked aren't all over the place in terms of
five different shades of red on like a red t-shirt or five different shades of green like really just
trying to have that shading style that's visible from a sense and not hard on the eyes um some of
the traits we have right now are just like not visibly appealing to look at i'll be blunt um and and
lastly i think this is something i'm learning right now and it comes from ui design and just ux is
atomic design like atomic design systems and basically what that is is um so you have your
atoms which are your type or like your fonts and your colors whatever then you have your molecules
which are like your buttons or your insert forms then you have your organisms which are like a nav bar
or so on and so forth and i'm trying to apply that to art because like the approach that we've been
taking recently is we're treating it as a design problem rather than an art problem so how do you do
that and the the answer is like you kind of do it through that design system so you have your brush
sizes you have your colors you have your shades you have your highlights then from there you know
you just kind of keep building this organism um in that atomical sense so that's something we're like
trying to hone in on now you know what i mean yeah i think that sounds very fair um it just like you
know like the attention to detail that you can give to the art and then just saying like it's more of a
design kind of thing not really i don't talk but like it's the design like how many colors you put
right or like how many traits or like overall like the whole thing it's like i think it's like
mind-blowing to be honest uh but what about you bennett what do you think what are like those three
learnings that you have in mind right now uh so to give a bit of context before i joined web3 and
crypto i managed a lab in university where i studied traumatic brain injuries um and i had students and
whatnot and i think transitioning over to web3 and especially to jean is but i the skills that
i really learned throughout the process was patience and perspective um being able to take the time and
doing something the way that the team enjoys and is proud of rather than kind of rushing the process
right where in my lab when i ran it with my students we kind of had a time crunch with the
semesters and whatnot but with jean in a sense i was allowed to basically um take a step back and
kind of see things from a brand new perspective trying to make things or actually it's more so
i have a more creative hand now um in the lab i was very there were strict rules i had to
pretend or follow and with jean working with jake and the rest of the team i've been you know it's
been freeing in a sense um you know learning to enjoy the process that's i think the biggest takeaway
here that kind of culminates all of the the learnings that i've had so far
yeah i think that's really good just like i think like now you have the chance to pretty much like do
your own thing and you don't have like that limitation from someone else to tell you like
oh you have to do this and that it's more like like okay where where do we take these things right
like where do we take geekens now and i feel like there's a lot of opportunity i have another
question though but like i'll let uh say the talk here because he's raised his hand for for a long
time absolutely thank you ds yeah like no i just wanted to like add a little more like you know in
the art uh you know like one of the reasons why like you know like uh i 18 g can was you know like
how much detail like uh the team have been putting in like when i was in the call like you know like
curb was like telling me all about like you know like the color theory like making sure that the
colors matter with with each other and that's where like i think you know like a lot of like
art upgrade haven't been successful um it's just because you know like people just sometimes like
do like art upgrade like you know for an art upgrade and like there is not like really uh meaning
behind it but like everything is calculated like you know like the backgrounds and you know like i mean
those are like little details that like you know like add and like makes a big difference at the end
like when you look at the youth like the the culture is just insane you know like a long-term wise
like you know like you don't get tired of looking at it like you know like i mean you look at the
gods even the gods like you know like the colors are a bit like overwhelming you know like some of
some of the backgrounds don't match with like some threats and like that's you know they're gonna fix
that for season three but you know just like those small details that like add a lot at the end and
you know uh i don't think like any any other collection actually have like been respecting it
and you know that's why like i'm i'm bidding uh on on gcan but yeah that's what i want to say and
like i'm i'm just like super excited like for the art to come out and you know i do think a lot of
people are gonna like realize like how much work has been uh putting in and and you know like yeah
like at the end like that's how like people are gonna like start like fomoring and like just
appreciate the art absolutely yeah and and we do we appreciate and like that is kind of something that
i'll try to make this one quick as well but it is like it's a very wide dynamic um yeah so the
approach that we're taking now is like everything should have a why and not only a why but it's
like okay cool like we have this turtleneck but is there ever going to be a case where someone says
like yo like i want this turtleneck for me i want the fucking turtleneck i don't really like we're
keeping the turtleneck but we're just trying to figure out you know i mean like create these
desirable and timeless traits and i think that talking about youths and just like what they did um the
traits are both desirable and timeless and it's something that you would see from day to day um they
obviously have their aesthetic but it's well done to the point where you know there are traits that
are people will you know seek out um i think that's really important for a collection um the background
colors this is like a good way to segue into it um you know this this is something along my way okay so
we have a palette of 10 colors right now whether i keep 10 or cut it down to eight or seven or six
is unknown but i have i have 10 final colors and um something that i have talked to you know that guy
i won't i don't name drop but that guy about is like why it is that you know we spend so much time
on just like the little details and just kind of the complexion um and something we talked about was
um understanding the why like if you go to school and you copy like your friend's math homework whatever
and you go to take the quiz um you're not going to pass the quiz if you are to i don't say you're
a developer or programmer and you copy someone else's code and it breaks you can't fix it so for me i think
it's really important that like we're taking time to understand the why you know like why does why does
this value work better as a luminance number for the background versus something like 20 so for us we're
in the range of i think it's 87 to 94 those are like the golden ranges for us um oh barry's here
hi barry um yeah so i i just think that understanding you know the why is is super important um so thank
you for acknowledging that as well hey i think you shouldn't drop that guy's name but you can
drop the other guy's name the other artist guy's name i don't we're not dropping any names
no names no names no names oh no nda right now i don't know about that but okay what's up ds
okay so this is more directly uh it's going to corrupt so uh when was it like uh like 10 days ago
you posted something about saying like pfps pfps are a design problem not a problem and saying that
you were going to find a solution and you were talking like about the uh resolution size for the
profile picture in twitter and like the the image itself right so i mean i i think what you try to
mean with that but like can you explain a little bit further like what is exactly crossing your mind
when you're trying like okay we're trying to find a solution with this does it mean like you're trying
to make like uh like a tool that gives you like a second version of your pfp that you can put on
twitter like something similar to what klanos is doing or it's more regarding like the like the design of
the nft itself like with the traits that you involve in that or like i just want to see like
exactly why are you what is your what is crossing your mind when you were saying that
no absolutely i feel like a lot of people took it as like i was gonna fucking figure out a way to
make twitter profile pictures bigger and that's not what i meant um i i think that okay so the crop
that i have on on my pfp right now i know a lot of people were like oh that's a good crop whatever
so i think we would like to create something that just gives you the the perfect crop um for
the pfp it definitely helps um but by that tweet i just meant in terms of drawing it in a way that
you can see it more so from far away the pixel count obviously lowers resolution which makes it
harder to see um you could think about it as reading a book right in front of your face and
then pulling it fucking far away and be like oh shit i can't see that anymore um so as an example
like jax's pfp the flame mouth or whatever a lot of people like that one are actually try hard in
the audience as well you can see his there's just way too much going on and actually try hard is an
extreme example of just bad generation no offense try hard i love you your pfp is great um we'll work
on it but jax's pfp is an example the eye slash the way that it's drawn and also the flame eyes coming
out of the mouth when you scale it down to this size it kind of just takes away like i don't really
know what i'm looking at you can't you lose the eyes you don't really know what you're looking for
but if you look at like my crop if you look at my beautiful crop as an example um it's pretty clear
it's it's visible uh you can see the colors it's not hard on the eyes you know you know exactly what
you're looking at um so it's a mixture of like yeah i would like to get a tool going to just get those
perfect crops but also but also um you know using the proper colors and just having these
you know clean aesthetically pleasing traits that don't crowd up the 400 by 400 pixels that you're
allowed on twitter that's that's what i meant you know do me next crow do me next i'm kidding i'm
kidding no i mean i think that makes a lot of sense it's it's really hard to pick up like a really
good pfp like especially in twitter because like you know like the size of the that damn circle is
like so like tiny so it's difficult to see like a really good pfp there and you know like just the
essence of it like just pops out that's and that's all pretty much so i mean i don't know like there
could be like ways around it but yeah as long as you can put like traits that are really identifiable
uh like when you're like scrolling on twitter i think that's really important especially like
at the moment that you're scrolling like something let's say like utes right i mean it's obvious the
moment that you see a youth pfp because it's like so undistinguishable and that's what gcans would like
to to be in the on its own essence of course absolutely yeah and i mean even when you um when
you look at a ute from a distance just going back to background colors and and just the they use the
36 to 10 rule pretty heavily and in terms of design um when you look at the pfps for a ute from from
far away um they actually look despite using less colorful they look more colorful than a lot of
other collections just because the way they balance their tones so when i said earlier in the space that
less is more it kind of ties back to that where like you can have like a really colorful and just
like inviting welcoming collection without having a fuck ton of colors um you know i mean like yes it's
great that we can go on a color wheel and pick millions of different shades whatever but in reality
there's there's some scenarios where you should be using colors and there's others where you don't
and if you don't use them on the first project then you can use the ones you didn't use on the
next one um and that's kind of like where we're trying to go with it so is this something like i'm
just trying to think like on the back end like how does it work is it something like you put a like
a set rule of like you only combine these colors in the generation of the nfts or it's more like you
have to have made some of these nfts absolutely yeah so like what we're doing is and honestly it's
something that we lacked doing along the way was we um we just weren't doing enough test generations
um and that's why i'm i'll i'll fucking admit it the reason why i think we had such a delay on the
art was we just weren't testing enough and that's totally on me like i had these concerns so i'll give
context the way a generator works um or at least the one i'm using is you basically just throw it
all um into visual studio into different file folders whatever you name your categories you put
the number you want and it just spits out random combinations um based on percentage rarity you know
just a bunch of different factors so i wasn't doing it frequently enough and when i had concerns
about layering i was like you know in my head i was like oh like it'll be fine once we add rarity
it won't be that bad once we add rarity like this is a mythic trait you won't see it that much
it'll be fine um and that's that's incorrect like that's totally my fault it's totally my
fuck up it should have never been like that um but yeah in terms of just creating this cohesive
type of collection um it's just setting those rules and just setting a general palette for every
trait to be drawn um so the process that we're in right now in terms of just like redesigning and
recoloring i gotta stop pacing i'm running out of breath um the rule that we're at right now is like
we're just trying to pick like a solid um array of probably 20 to 25 colors um highlights and shades
and just stick with that the whole way through so if if you see like some shade of brown on a jacket
that shade of brown should be used throughout the entire collection um and that's something we just
didn't really see the importance of at the start in terms of like setting those rules but i i think it
is extremely important so that's something that we're like we're constantly working on as well
okay very interesting i mean i say it because i feel like many collections talking about colors i
think it all started with jutes and they actually made a post like after they launched like i don't
know like after a month or something like that where they were talking like about this combination of
colors and all of that i mean um i saw like also bungeo from lily like when he was uh hand drawing the
collection i think he like took a lot of time because i saw him like he used to be a google before so he
like like we'll be talking in the chat and like all the time he was like okay guys like i'm out like
just i'm gonna get back to work right and he was like reading about like colors and like just a bunch
of these things that i have no idea about to be honest because i'm not an artist uh but i like i've
been listening to the color thing like pretty often it also came out with uh with pilots recently from
montello where they pretty much like redo the entire art right now and they're working on that
and i've been talking with tom a little bit like some chats that we are in and like it was a common
topic colors pretty much like after he went with uh like many artists in the swan space like all these
guys were telling him like you know what like you need to work on the colors otherwise it's not gonna
work out and i mean i just i think it's part of the iteration process that like all these collections
or at least like the collections are doing some like uh like the revamp of their art and whatever
like you get to that part where like fuck like you figure out like the color is like something
really important otherwise like the pfp doesn't look that good or or whatever it is right at the end
of the day just you know if if you think about it like the attention of someone has like on whatever
like you'll you'll be on youtube and then like you just watch the the the the images and you make a
decision if it's a good video or not like almost instantly or in a few seconds so i think it works
pretty much or very similar with uh with the nfts like sometimes like you'll see an nft and like it
takes like one two seconds just to see it and if it draws your attention perfect like there's like more
to it but it's not like oh just like whatever just a picture right and especially you can crypto twitter
like it's pretty common like you'll like you're not scrolling in the timeline and then you'll see
like this twitter profile and you see the picture and it just like trust your eye right so i think
that's the goal of any pfp where the moment you see it on the timeline is like oh fuck like that's
gcans or that's dguts or that's fandouts or that's a google or that's smb right so it's just
create the the own essence and so far i mean with gcans what i like about gcans is like
i think the style is pretty unique in the sense like not many collections have tried to do a human
based pfp because it's really hard as well because the people using it have to feel connected to it
or at least they have some reassemblance with the with the nft and that's really hard to achieve
like if i'm ominous so i mean so far i like what i've seen with gcans and like probably the the last
question that i would have for you guys uh like so far would be what do you really want to
accomplish with gcans what's your vision with the project because so far i mean you are obviously in
the part of the revamp and it's a it's a whole task to do that but like i think like a lot of people
will be like okay like once we get the reveal like like what do you guys want to accomplish with gcans
at the end of the day i think there's a lot there and i want to start with i'll just say this about
the art and we'll kind of i'll answer the next question is like i literally about choosing to
do a human pfp choosing to use to do like a human that's living or just like something realistic
um all these different type of things like i eventually will write some sort of sub stack on
because i could talk about it for hours and hours and maybe like we'll dedicate some sort of space or
just something to actually doing it because i it is a lot of information i'd like to share and we
have learned a ton um in terms of what we want to do in the space and just like you know the effect
we want to have um i think that in terms of pfp like we we really do want to have um from a design
standpoint the best profile picture on i think that um you know for me and this is something that jack
said to me and it's really stuck with me is like an nft project or at least the project that we want
to build is we want it to be art huge focus on art and just sort of the representation that your
profile picture is um then community i feel like we have a really good fucking foundation i love all
of you like my favorite people to talk to um and then from there just like a touch of tech and by
tech it's it's more so just like a solid user experience and just um i use premium apps premium
like deployments all these different things so for me i really do just want to push um for that spot
have the loudest community like have the best pfp like i i just want my community and you know the
people that have believed in us all this time to feel like winners that's it for me um i want to
give the art the best chance that it has to succeed because it deserves it the artist put in a ton of
time and just like um you know it deserves the fucking absolute best chance it has to be the best
um so that's what i'm working for right now and once that's done i just want all of you and everyone
that's holding to just feel like they're you know they won or like a bet that they made paid off or
you know go into another chat and be like yo like is that a g-con like that's sick um you know
it's it's a special feeling and it's something that you know we work for every day
yeah and i think that's great and to be honest like i really think like the new art is fire as
fuck like i really like it i really fuck with it it's it's honestly like something like when i
approach projects these days it's like okay like you have to learn like in different buckets right
and it's just like the energy space is growing and it's gonna be changing forever but like for
now like you have to be like in some different buckets and one of those is like okay this project
is a pfp project that you can use and this is like for the art i mean the deco's art is really cool
jute's art is really cool but like they're moving like i mean there's not like a lot of projects if
you're honest that can fill that gap of like really good pfp art it's just like probably i can
gather with one hand and the styles are different as well so i think that you guys are taking like
an approach that it's very similar to me to dead gods and also like use but also like without
its own style i mean you're not copying them and anything is like that that's what i like about it
it's the originality of the project the idea of like like like the whole like um like the evolution
kind of thing like the the same the kind of process that you have in the collection i think that's
that connects as well with the community and the project itself and it's really good with the lore
so i don't know it's just like like it a lot in in all senses and i hope you guys kill it so
at the end of the day like i've we've seen like some of the of the art that you guys have put in
the gallery and all of that i can't remember exactly but i think it was a death but i can't
remember exactly who it was um he told me like they're like the new art or the new traits were
gonna be way better so like like i just crapping like some of the the art that we have seen because
otherwise like everyone's gonna be sad like they have all of them have pfps already so are you guys
like changing a lot of that art or like like how like do you guys are thinking about it right now
yeah so the the pfps that like are in the audience and um a lot of people use like the fire skin
from that gallery or like the ice skin from that gallery and i will say it here like those i don't like
those iterations like seeing what's okay like in chat the other day someone put like the magma like
fire skin whatever from from that original gallery and the colors are just so off on it that i just
like i didn't want to kill the spirit and be like yo i don't like this but the traits that we
are scrapping or the traits that we are changing like i i promise you they're more visually appealing
to look at um you know what i mean like i understand that some people already have picked like
oh like i fuck with this one i really like this jikan um it'll be improvements and in like the
long run you know short term you may not like it you'll say oh what the fuck is this long term it'll
be more timeless it'll grow on you and you'll love it and that's that's like the promise and you know
what we're going for man i'm so happy that you said it thank you so much yeah i mean it is like of
course like there's like you know art is subjective so there's like a few things that you're gonna like
it and like some of them like you're not gonna fall in love with it um of course like some of
these skins i mean i'll be honest i wasn't like a huge fan of them um especially it's the thing is
like when you change like the whole skin and make like galactic and like ice and fire they have to
be like really well made otherwise they look weird it's like absolutely when i've seen like people
like doing let's say like i think this is specific to pixel art with like gold let's say if you want to
draw gold into pixel art i think it's really difficult because otherwise you'll look like
yellow right so it's like it has to be done right to look good otherwise it looks weird and it'll look
like cheap or whatever not that it looks cheap but of course like i was like thinking at the end of
the day i think like if the whole point for gcans is to get to number one and that's like the whole
focus of it um like it can do better that's that's that was my thought early on and that was
something that uh like some feedback that i was that i wanted to pass on to you of course
um so yeah by having that mentality which i think you guys have in mind like we want to be number
one in solana and we want to be the number one pfp and we want to be that pfp that if everyone looks
at it it's it's fucking gcans and it's like you know i've been through this process before it doesn't
mean like gcans will get it but i think if you ask me gcans has a lot of chances of getting it
which was like back in the days with when that got launched and i remember this guy like fucking
legend he was like oh i'll bet like anyone like from the smb community that uh that gods are gonna
flip smb and the back then i think like the floor was like like something stupid like 10 15 sold
something like that and the smb floor was like 200 something sold and then i remember like even
some movies were like oh my god i'll take like fucking that like every day right and who's that guy
like everyone wanted to take the bed and like the frank's mentality always was like we will be
fucking number one and that was a fucking mentality that they had from day one and everyone laughed
at them back then and to the whole community and you know like history speaks itself so at the end of
the day what i bring that up it's mostly because of the mentality that i know frank had back then
which was like okay like we try many different things and we're gonna try this other thing
and we want to be number one and that was a mentality and like no one can stop us right
so as long as he can has a mentality but also reflects it into the project with like the quality
of the of the art right so as you can see like probably right now like i mean i don't want to
talk like a lot about like that gods but like with trying like he's working on his season three right
even though like i'm not a huge fan of the movements and like especially polygon i'm not like
nothing against of ethereum um but like he's working on like new art right for for that god
especially so i mean you would have to think like i think he's gonna blow it all the part to be honest
like he's done already like how many collections at this point like if you count that gods as a second
collection and then youth as a third and i think youth was the best learning one the huge learning
curve for them especially i think he's gonna blow it like with a new art for that gods whatever he does
i have no idea so i think that's a kind of a process that you guys are into right now which
is like okay we're improving the art but also like if you can afford like making a like a second
revamp in the future right like you would make it better like the point is like to launch the
collection to a point where you don't think tomorrow like oh we could have done better and i think that's
a point that you guys to get you guys have to get into and i think you are pretty close because
you've taken your time with it so i'm pretty happy with it and i'm happy for being a holder as well
for the same reason absolutely yeah and again there are a lot of things you said there that i
would like to touch on i will say the reason you feel the way um about gold and pixel artists using
yellow um is color relativity so a lot of the times like when you're drawing a gold skin like when you
try to go yellow and me and chris were doing this on photoshop the other day just like playing around
with what colors work best um it's more of like an orangish like bronzy tone um with a combination of
like i don't know a lighter orange and then just like a slight off tint of white in like the greenish
beige side that in my opinion makes the best gold um so that's like color relativity and that's just
one of the things we're still trying to learn and focus on as well um but i had something else to say
and i totally fucking forget i'll probably remember but yes we will continue pass it to someone else
yeah someone else can speak i've been speaking too much no what's up yo what's up uh i gotta say
today's space was very insightful very interesting to listen um i understand how much effort you're
putting into everything i'm super bullish i mean i wasn't here when the early d gods vibe
uh you know i missed out on d gods and pod in late but i'm feeling this energy in the jikan community
i gotta say and i have to give credits to try hard like when i see people bullish on jikan the way
try hard is i just had to sweep more you know okay that's it the energy is radiating off your body
right now oh god oh god no where are you where are you too much of energy let's go yo i'm not

and i feel like again as a community i feel like we're doing a really solid job um at showing patience
and just like giving us that time um and for me like our job is to give you you guys may not
specifically know what you want in terms of art um you just know that you want a good pfp it is our
job to deliver that to you so again like in terms of timeless traits making sure things make sense like
all that like we're gonna do that that's what we're working on and like we're gonna take our time
to make sure that's possible um they're gonna bang it's a promise um just give us time thank you for
the patience and we will deliver um you know the best that we absolutely can and and hopes the best
