As one said, all of these men are my sons. was solana accelerate sophie what was your experience like
i think they definitely really invest in their events um in like a substantial way
the production level was high i think they got a lot of like mind share i thought the format
was actually like pretty innovative and like only having seven and 15 minute talks um and i think
catered to everyone's attention span in a really interesting way kind of has me noodling about like
what do you get out of a person when you compress the amount of time they
are allowed to speak for um i think that i'm always curious like what the direct
give back to the ecosystem is and like what their kpis were for that event and like if they feel like
what their kpis were for that event and like if they feel like they met them they're also like at
a different point like their post made that for a few years like they they just have a lot more
money to spend like listen listen if i got a salon of budget we'd be we'd be going crazy it'd be
bananas yeah but it was a well done event good for them mazel tov man sophie can i just say like the
seven to fifteen minute speaker slots like i totally agree that that is interesting and like
i come from a background doing a lot of like public speaking and thinking a lot about
planning events and like making engaging speakers and everything. And the only challenge I feel like
of the 70 to 15 minute time slot is like getting a good speaker and then having them like travel
wherever you need them to go and being like, oh yeah. And by the way, like you get to speak for
like seven to 15 minutes, but like people that get it, that is like the best distillation of their thought that
is crystallized in a way that like the audience can actually like take in and iterate and if you
have those stacked on top of each other you can just basically it's like i remember like when i
was in ap english like as a high schooler and you get to like the highest level somebody was in ap classes everybody clap it up flex yeah
wow yeah oh man but i remember getting there and like you're used to like writing long papers
and our teacher would have us write one page essays which was actually like much harder than writing a like five, seven, 10 page paper,
because you have to just be like so clear and like what you're saying and cut out all the fluff.
So that was a long tangent. But all that to say, I'm a huge fan of the short time
frame, both for the speaker and for the audience. I think it's awesome. So that's a cool takeaway.

recommend them there's also a really cool okay we don't need to like shill other l1s we could

So so Circle was rumored about a month or a month and a half ago to be doing that.
They were considering IPO and what an IPO means is it's an initial public offering, which basically means
that they're going to be listed as a stock, right? So they're going to like launch and go public,
kind of like how Coinbase went public and launched Coin back and it marked the top of the 2021 cycle.
So Circle is going to IPO. There were some rumors that their reported valuation range was around
$5 billion and their prospectus leaked. So the
prospectus is kind of like the initial report of like all of your metrics and like earnings and
like all these different things. And it revealed a lot about this crazy deal that Coinbase has with
Circle, where basically Circle is paying Coinbase a ridiculous amount of money, like on the order
of like a billion dollars a year, where they're sharing their yield with Coinbase, so that Coinbase a ridiculous amount of money, like on the order of like a billion dollars a year,
where they're sharing their yield with Coinbase so that Coinbase can give yield to users. But
basically, like Coinbase is like able to pocket some of that and derive like this huge marketing
benefit. And Circle just gets exposure from that. So people were, it was unclear if they were actually like a successful business. And it also really showed how much winning Tether is doing basically,
because Tether is just like orders of magnitude bigger than them. I think Circle's revenue was
on the order of like two to 3 billion, something like that. And Tether is like 13.2 billion. Like
it's insane how much profit and revenue they generate, especially with how few
employees they have. And so Circle later, a week or two later, retracted that. And they were like,
no, no, we're not going to go public. Then last week or the week before, a rumor dropped on some
of the big news accounts. So it seemed like was legit that uh circle was in talks to be
acquired by coinbase which would make sense in a way although it would be strange for coinbase to
own like the second largest stable coin by issuance and there would have had to have been some
kind of like uh like separation there for that to still be legit and everything it probably wouldn't
have been ideal for this coinbase and xrp yeah exactly so coinbase but also ripple so xrp was also exploring buying
circle which would have been literally like a borderline like black swan i feel like for the
space and ripple has so much xrp that they have a ridiculous war test. They were offering, it was reported like between $9 and $10 billion.
So they were like offering up like a ton of XRP to like buy Circle
and basically just like envelop the second largest stable coin,
probably start to like integrate it or utilize it in conjunction with their RLUSD
and to like make it just bad, like make it like it way worse. It honestly would have been super bearish
for the space. And so today or yesterday, I don't remember, but today or yesterday,
Circle announced that they're going to IPO for real, I think in the next month or two,
and they're being valued at a $6.7 billion valuation, which is kind of crazy. Apparently,
they're oversubscribed. So a lot of
people want to buy in, which I guess is a good thing. Although people do tend to do that and
then get dumped on their heads. But I think that there are people in crypto that are bullish on
Circle and USDC. Certainly, it'll be great to have them on as a canonical source of liquidity
on Monon from day one. And so then the financials and what the actual valuation
and everything will be very interesting question. But the real good news is that XRP will not be
acquiring Circle. So it was kind of a roller coaster. But yeah, it's a very cool story.
Dude, I'm so bullish on that, actually. Because dude, it was doomed. Like last week, I was so
mad about that thing. I was like, dude, this is really not happening.
Like, if Ripple bought that shit, it was so bearish.
Like, at some point that everyone was going to hell.
But then it didn't.

uh that that's going to be the case so So yeah, hopefully this isn't the top like coin
was like literally coins IPO price was like $400. And then coin dropped to like 40 or $50 after
FTX and everything. And Coinbase still I think is in like the mid 200s or something like that. But
it's literally never gotten back to its IPO price. So it'll be interesting to see if
Circle has a
similar fate or maybe they're able to do better since stable coins seem to have real legs right
now. But we'll just have to see how everything shakes out. So since XRP lost this sale,
essentially, who do you think they'd go after next? They got $10 billion in their war chest.
Who do you think they're going to try to go after next? They're like a legitimate business. They like clear something on the order of like trillions of dollars every year.
What a prime broker is, it is essentially like an institutional broker that like works
with large companies and stuff like that, that want to like go in and like execute crypto
trades and stuff like that.
If my understanding is right, I'm also retarded.
Prime brokers are like who would do things like acquiring like Bitcoin for micro
strategy or stuff like that. But yeah, so like they did buy like one of these large legitimate
companies. So they're definitely in the acquisition game. But like who they go after next is like an

of the world to replace, you know, like bricks and everything.

Yeah, we'll just be able to see that accelerate and get to a point where, you know,
it can't be rolled back
and it just kind of becomes the future of finance.
So it's a cool time to be watching
all this stuff innovate and everything.

The other thing that I was going to touch on
was just the SUI, did you, I don't know, KB,
did you follow this at all?
Like the Sui and Cetus hack?
Yeah, yeah.
I, okay, I didn't follow it deeply.
I just knew it happened.
And I've been meaning to, just because like I am pretty interested in like Sui and like
what it is, right?
But like, and then of course there's likeud of, like, them essentially stopping the hack.
And so that's, like, a huge argument.
Because it's, like, this catch-22 of, like, you don't want your users to, like, lose their money.
But, you know, now it's known that there's, like, a weak spot in Stewie.
Like, gun to your head.
Like, gun to, like, the CEO's head, they can shut down the chain. So, so that is like a thing now. Um, so like are we safe?
Probably not. And yeah, that's all I got out of that. And I didn't really go much deeper into it.
And I don't think it really affected price either. So that's the crazy thing. So I, um, okay. So Sui, yeah. So Sui didn't actually
get hacked themselves. It was Cedis, which I think was like kind of their main liquidity hub,
um, got hacked. I think it was $220 million got stolen, something like $30 million got bridged
off chain and they started, the hackers started buying ETH with it, which I guess they wanted it to just evaporate as fast as possible.
But they froze $160 million of the funds. So the validators got together and literally shipped an
update where they ignored any transactions of these stolen funds, which is crazy. So they paused
the chain. They stopped processing transactions of these stolen funds, which is crazy. So they paused the chain. They stopped processing transactions of
these stolen funds, which is crazy. Although I'm open to the debate of whether, if that's possible,
you should or should not do it. It is just the fact that it is possible, I think, that should
give us pause about if SUI has you know said hey we're decentralized
like we're a layer one blockchain like you shouldn't be able to roll stuff back right like
blasted that right like blasted that with the north korean hackers like it should give you
pause it should make you concerned about like holding your money there i say is i have like
way too much money on fantasy top on Blast. But still, yeah.
So like that's an interesting...
Hyperliquid did this like a couple of weeks.

It wasn't because of a hack.
It was because of a bad play.
They actually did the same.
Like they pushed something in their browser
and they changed like whatever they were doing.

I mean, I think it really, James was talking about this on, I think, the DeFi Act space last week, where it's like, the real thing is just like, if you're going to call yourself decentralized, you should be upfront about what of your protocol is not actually decentralized, right? Like if
that's the end state and not the current state, you need to be upfront about that. And it doesn't
mean per se, even that you shouldn't use SUI or you shouldn't use hyperliquid, but you should just
be like upfront about what is the reality. Don't call yourself decentralized. Yeah. Yeah, totally.
I mean, like hyperliquid, I'm pretty sure they hold all of the funds on the chain in a 3 of 4 multisig.
So that should give you some pause.
I do not get Hyperliquid.

I just do not get the fucking hype.
There's 16 validators, bro.

Yeah, I mean, there are real things, I think, to commend Hyperliquid.
Like, the fact that it's KYC-less.
They've innovated to make, like, the best on-chain person spot decks that exist right now.
They did an airdrop that made the community rich.
But you're right.
I mean, the validators are not only few, but I'm
pretty sure that many of them or some of them, I don't know the specifics on this, so I don't want
to talk out of turn, but they're like co-located as well. So they're all in like a similar place
geographically. So there's real concerns there. But the fact that it's on chain still does give
it benefits to like a sex experience right like towards a centralized
exchange there's no kyc all of the uh well and there's a no but there's a lot of secrecy with
hyperliquid and like how they're doing things and what different availabilities of the kind of like
chain and everything are so yeah no it's a real it's a real interesting thing i don't know much about it i'm honestly i'm allergic to bridge i'm allergic to bridges that's fair yeah just like just straight up like
allergy i'm trying to mess around with hyperliquid both because i do think that there's still a
promising ecosystem there and i do think that the guys are really really smart like i think that the
trade-offs that they've made have been well thought out and calculated and they've built an incredible product. And I'm kind of there like to
learn more about stuff that like we can actually like take away and like implement on Kuru and
everything. Although I do think that there is just like a crazy wealth opportunity potentially
on Hyperliquid and like the Hyper EVM. But obviously I also have like real concerns about
the centralization or
lack there or the decentralization or lack thereof. And that's why I'm bullish monad.
But yeah, no, I think it's all things to be to be careful about. And the and the sui thing is just
okay, this is just my last thing on sui. So you're right, KB, the price. Okay, so sui was that like
$3.90 when this happened this happened no it was at four
dollars and it went down to 390 which i was like what like a 10 cent drop like so i went to hyper
liquid i shorted i shorted stewie which is crazy i rarely trade perps right but i opened up like a
three or five x short on stewie and the price just stayed for like two or three hours. And like they paused
the chain, like all this stuff. I could not believe it. And then the price went up to 394.
Like I was down on my short of Stewie. I could not believe it. I was literally shocked. I closed
my short because I was like, the Stewie market maker is like going in he's going ham right now he's just
absolutely like clipping into this right now so I close my short I go away from the computer for a
little bit I come back and sui dropped to like 360 it like tanked I would have printed on my
short I was so pissed I mean I was like I had at like. Dude, I have something else.
And like, they started saying,
the first thing they said was like an Oracle problem.
So that's how everything started.
They pushed, I mean, that was the narrative.
I don't know if they say it,
but yeah, that's how everything started.
That's the other thing.
That's the only other thing.
Clock twist, that's RxP,
is the market maker for Sui.
Oh, dude.
The price action, I will just say, like, without, I don't know anything.
But, like, the price action on Sui, like, and some chains like that, where you don't know if there's, like, actually, like, real organic users there.
Maybe there are people that like Sui.
And I do think that there's interesting things about their ecosystem and what they're building. But like when prices go up inexplicably and like there's other projects that are like this, like, you know, Mantra and like some of these other things, like you really should just like be very careful because more often than not, like if it smells fishy, like it probably is. So I don't know anything about Stewie, but I do think that there's just like probably weird stuff going on there for sure.
And they also like literally like buy influencers, some of whom I even like.
But they'll like these guys will be like, all right, I'm proud to announce that I'm a Stewie ambassador and I'll be going on chain to show you everything that's going on on Stewie.
And I'm like, I would actually like to know about this, but like it doesn't feel, I don't think there's necessarily anything wrong with that.
But like, also, I don't think I've seen any of this content from like two or three people
that I've seen say that they're like suing ambassadors.
I'm like, are you guys going on chain?
But yeah, I don't know, man.
It's a strange, strange time.
But that's why we're building on monad because decentralization is actually everything like
it's actually truly very important decentralization matters yeah yeah 100 and it takes time like i
actually think that that is where even though we've all been sad and for good reason about you
know delays on testnet we don't know when mainnet will drop. We have some ideas. But yeah, it's worth putting in the time now
to build something that can stand the test of time.
And the fact that there's as many validators live
as there are already
and the goals that they have for mainnet and everything,
and also for regular people to be able to launch nodes,
it just feels like a real triumph for the space
to be able to be behind this.
So that's
