All right, cool. Apecock it is. So let's get into it. So I'll catch you guys up on what I've been up to.
So some of you guys may know, past several years,
we've been building an NFT marketplace, which is cool, right?
And there's some NFT marketplaces out there and stuff.
But along the way, we wanted to build really good tokenomics.
I think tokenomics are really important
and kind of underrated. I think we've seen in the space, like when chart goes up, everybody's happy.
Chart goes down, everybody's unhappy sort of thing. So I spent a lot of time thinking about
tokenomics and what goes into good tokenomics. And we kind of found a very powerful thing to build on our NFT marketplace.
We kind of pivoted.
We have the whole structure for like a traditional, you know, art PFP NFT marketplace.
But we pivoted into something that I think is like a lot more powerful.
So let's talk about tokenomics a little bit first.
So what are key ingredients that make good tokenomics? One thing you want to
give or that's helpful to give is high yields, right? ApeCoin had high yields at the beginning.
And then what happened, of course, when you give a high yield, but you don't have a lockup,
what happens to the price? Anyone want to guess?
My emoji is in a dis way.
No bueno. Yeah. If you give a high yield, like 100% APR or more, but you don't have a lockup,
what happens that I've seen so many times is people dump those yields, right? And so what
happens to the chart? Even though people are getting more coins, chart goes down, people
aren't happy about that, and obviously hurt sentiment and stuff. So the second part of that that some projects do is
they do a lockup, right? Like Magic Eden's done this, or, you know, yeah, they're doing that with
their token, right? They have a good yield, but they have a long lockup. And so people, lockups
are good because it keeps tokens off the market, prevents them from being sold. But what happens then is people don't like to be locked up, right? Nobody wants to be unable to exit their position.
You know, no shots at magic eating here. I'm just saying it, you know, like some people want to
sell their positions, but they can't. So that's kind of the problem with doing a lockup
and giving a good yield. So that leads us to kind of the third part of the equation.
What if you could give people a good yield and have a lock up, but also have flexibility that
they're not locked into a position? And that's what we've kind of created. So we on our NFT
marketplace have invented what's called LP bonds, liquidity position bonds. And this kind of solves
two angles. We're kind of merging NFTs and
DeFi here, like that's never been done before, which I'm really excited about. You kind of got
to know NFTs well, and you got to know DeFi well, and you merge them together. And so what we've
done here is people make a liquidity position. So for instance, $20 of Ape and $20 of GMI.
You pair them together, right?
So it's a $40 LP position, and this is a 50-50 pool.
So that's like a traditional liquidity pool.
And what you get back is called an LP bond.
So this bond represents that liquidity position, and it's an NFT, okay?
And that NFT is tradable.
So what that means is you're kind of,
it's a lot like a bond in traditional finance, like a, like a zero coupon bond to be exact.
We're giving the yield accruing in the bond. So it doesn't hit the market. It doesn't create sell pressure at the same time. People are incentivized to make them because they're
getting a yield. And then it's also keeping those coins off the market because they're locked up in a liquidity position.
And they're tradable, so the user isn't locked up.
So it's kind of this merging of three, like the trilemma, the trilemma of giving a high yield, having a long-term lockup, but having tradability.
So that's kind of the trilemma that we've solved with it.
Yeah, and I think the power of it is, again, just giving – like, again, if you just take
a big step back from everything, like right now we're in a bear market, charts are going
down, charts are going down charts are
bleeding like this is kind of like a tokenomics fixer effectively like anyone we partner with
you know um which ape chain is one of our you know first big partners here anyone we partner with
benefits from this the the coins get taken off the market it's long-term liquidity and the user
has flexibility so that's kind of like a high-level view of it.
And let me just like pause there and see if you guys got it or if you don't have it, so
I can answer any questions.

We've been struggling with everything going down, so this might be the solution, but who's
like the ideal user or customer for your platform?
Is it like collectors?
Is it like collectors? Is it like projects?
Probably projects that, you know, are interested in, again, a really good way to think of it is like, we're like a tokenomics fixer. I think that's a good way to put it. Tokenomics fixer.
So what does that mean? Is there's so many tokens out there, and they don't have conducive
tokenomics for chart goes up, right? And we need
chart goes up. You get chart goes up and everybody's happy and chart goes down, everyone's sad.
So how do you get chart going up? Well, you got to do a couple of things to get the chart going up.
You got to take those tokens off the market. Well, and then you got to incentivize people to do that.
So they're happy to do that. And then you got to give people freedom. So they're not just
tied down and unable to exit a position. So they're not just tied down and unable to exit
a position. So it's like taking a bunch of ingredients to solve that problem. But ultimately,
the problem to solve is the problem of solving the getting the chart to go up. Right. And like
projects have tried that in a number of different ways. Again, you give a high yield. That's like,
cool. Again, and that attracts attention,, that's like cool again, and that attracts
attention, but ultimately causes chart to go down if you don't lock them down. So you can give a
high yield again and lock up tokens. But what's happened there is there's never been a technology
like we've had before. So the longest lockup you'd have is like a couple of years. And that kind of
just delays the inevitable that, you know, the most I've seen is like four or five years.
Like Magic Eden's doing five years.
And that's a long time if you don't have access to your tokens.
So we have a 20-year lockup,
but actually we want this ultimately to be perpetual.
It's like a perpetual thing.
That's the direction we're going.
It's like perpetual bonds.
We want those tokens locked up forever, you know? And then, but again, this is really, really bonds. We want those tokens locked up forever,
you know? And then, but again, this is really, really important. The user is not locked up forever. They have a bond NFT representing that position. Make sense? So the liquidity
and the tokens are locked down for good pretty much, but the user is not locked down.
They can, they can, you can even buy and sell fractionalized versions. So you can immediately buy 0.1 of a bond
and can sell 0.1 of a bond tomorrow.
So you have full flexibility to get in and out of position,
but the underlying tokens are off the market
and they're doing something productive.
They're not just locked away.
It's not like one-sided staking.
They're locked away doing something productive,
which is providing liquidity.
Does that make sense? Yeah, and I understand it, which is kind of crazy here,
which is crazy, but I understand it, which is great. I bookmarked a tweet here. I logged $514,
now tracking almost 24k at maturity or maturity or how you pronounce that already earned $115
in rewards in 40 days. Earning daily, watching it grow, staying locked. This is what long-term
conviction looks like with LP bonds. So this is kind of cool. So how can we start? Let's say you
have a room here full of dGents and we want to earn those rewards. How can we start?

And I think the big thing, again, is we want to protect the chart, right?
And if you look at our chart, since October of last year, we're up like 40%.
It's not massively, but at the same time, the whole market's down like 50% or more.
markets down like 50% or more. So I think that if you design something that is actually conducive
to like, it's really nice for people to basically be able to make money and have something they
believe in too. And that's really what I brought front and center because I originally made a coin
way back in the day in 2017, like really good security focused coin. And that was great and all. But I
had this exact same problem that ApeCoin had. Like we gave high yields, you know, and then we saw it
ourselves too. And you see it in so many charts. If you just give a high yield to people and there's
not like a good lockup or proper tokenomic system behind it, it's just going to get dumped, right?
And even if you don't give a high yield, if you don't have a good system to encourage people
to lock up coins, to take those coins off the market,
it's just a really loud attention economy in this space.
I see it as like 120 decibel room.
It's a huge attention economy.
And people, you know, every week,
they go on to like the next shiny thing.
And so if you want to win at the game,
I think it's really
important to have kind of the setup again for chart goes up. You set up, if you set yourself
up for chart goes up, I think community is happy and they become evangelists and then it builds
momentum. But if chart goes down, then people kind of fade away and you're like fighting to
stay relevant. So I don't know, it's just something I found
that is like so important. And that's why I kind of pivoted into it. And I love that I found like a way to merge, like kind of cutting edge NFTs and DeFi together. So yeah.

The traditional NFT stuff, we're like, it's kind of, it's not our primary focus.
So those are probably out of date prices.
So yeah, don't cough those
prices. You know, that's one thing I learned as a builder too. Like there is so much to do and it
is so much work to build something. You got to be just laser focused on, you know, like how you can
provide the top value to the space. And so that's what we're doing. Like it takes a lot to maintain
an NFT marketplace.
You know, some of you guys may know,
but, you know, we built the whole infrastructure for that.
And man, it was a ton of work.
And then when we shifted gears to focusing on this,
we're kind of like, all right, let's put that on the side for now.
You know, we'll come back to that if we want to,
or we need to, we always have that.
But I really see this as something that is like untapped and solves a pain point no one else has really hit.
And I think it's like kind of a much wider market basically to tap into.
Otherwise, we're basically competing against OpenSea and whatnot, which is just cool, but it's hard to compete.
I mean, they've got a very large team at this point, a lot of power behind, a lot of various features.
It takes a lot to keep up with that. And so I think this is something where we're like, hey, we found this niche. But I
think this is actually maybe even more impactful in the big picture, you know, and another thing
too is I, what I love most about what we're doing is we were, we can help a lot of people, you know,
I mean, again, being a tokenomics fixer, that's how I see us.
Anyone we're partnering with that we're working with, we're helping them.
And ultimately, I think if you can help a lot of people in the world, as they say,
then you'll be successful.
And that's really how I see it.

And do you have any questions for Tommy? Yes, I joined a little bit late, but I was
gonna ask, is he thinking about a reward system? Yeah, good question. So we have like,
obviously we have to incentivize people to participate, right?
So we give 100% APR, that's simple interest.
We can't do compounding because these are 20-year bonds.
So it's 100% APR, simple interest,
which means doesn't compound,
but it's enough of incentive to get people to participate.
It's not too much that it's unsustainable.
And the way that's met,
the way that maths out is 100% APR is the equivalent of 23%,
which is compounding APY over 20 years.
So yeah, so there's incentive,
like every bond you mint, right?
If you mint an Ape GMI bond, for instance,
20 bucks of Ape, 20 bucks of GMI, it's a $40 bond.
It means over the next year, you'll earn $40 of GMI. It's 100% APR. That GMI though does not hit
your wallet. It accrues within the bond. That's a really important piece of it. So in TradFi,
that's called a zero coupon bond where the yield accrues in the bond. Why is that important?
Because again, we're talking about tokenomics and we're talking about the chart going up. So in order to prevent sell pressure,
you want to prevent those tokens from hitting the market. Now, the market will put a premium
on those bonds. They'll be worth more if you mint a bond today, a year from now, your bond will have
a good amount of GMI accumulated.
So the market probably won't price it at the full amount of GMI you've earned.
It'll price it at like a fraction of that, like maybe, I don't know, a fifth of that or something like that.
That's just how it works with bonds and yield.
And that kind of makes sense too.
But the point of it is, yes, you do earn a yield, but the point is that it accrues in
the bond.
And so the value of the bond increases over time.
Does that make sense?
That was a good question.

And how about also rewards for founders?
What do you mean exactly?

For people incentivizing his community to use your platform.
Yeah, we have a partner program where whoever we partner with,
like various projects, we have an upgrade system
where you can actually upgrade the bonds from level one up to level four.
And that's just another mechanism we have on it.
The level four bonds give 300% APR.
So you do that by basically taking a bond and pairing it with GMI and you can increase the earnings you get from it.
Anyone we partner with, we give a percentage of those, the upgrade fees for that.
Upgrade fees are like normally 20%. We've currently slashed it to 10% to upgrade to those higher levels.
And we give a percentage of that to anyone we partner with.
So yeah, there's like a kind of like an affiliate program.

or if you are a project and you have a token, yeah, let me know.

So to be clear, this angle, again, we're kind of merging NFTs and DeFi in a unique way.
And so the angle here is targeted toward ERC20 tokens or if you're on Solana, we're in process of getting on Solana too.
But like basically a fungible token, it helps fungible tokens and creates like obviously, ultimately the asset is an NFT, right?

even if you have a nice APY, APR, how do you keep that up without people trying to milk the cow and screwing up both your graph and your APY or APR, whatever it may be, right?

get in like the the trenches really thinking about it, like
you have, you see you kind of the the puzzle pieces and what goes
into it. Like, yeah, you want to give a good yield, but you got to be careful about that
because you don't want to get hit on the price.
And then you want to do a lockup,

So to get all those puzzle pieces together,

So what were your biggest learnings so far?
Man, there's a lot of learnings.
I'll tell you, like in this bear market, man, it's been crazy, right?
We're all in it.
Like, I don't think any of us expected the market to be in this state at this time. Normally, Bitcoin takes off and then all coins and stuff follow. And we've just been, I think we've all been fighting hard in this spare market. I mean, it's taught us a lot about running lean. We run a really lean team now.
So that's been a good learning lesson.
We use, I'm sure a lot of you guys do, but we use AI tools like a ton.
We got like 10 people actively on the team.
So I mean, it's got like a pretty tight-knit focused team.
I think it's important to have people around you who have like their head in the game a lot.
I think it's, and I think this is, this is a big one.
It's a big one.
It's like, you got to be super focused.
That's, that's a big one.
Like that.
And that's the exact reason why I'm not focusing so much on the traditional NFT aspect is like,
what is the highest leverage power move that I can do?
And I encourage everyone to think like that.
Like, what's that one thing?
What's your top 20% of the top 20%?
You know, like, think like that.
And that's kind of the thinking that brought us here.
It's like, we could focus on this.
We could focus on that.
We could do this.
We could do that.
But it's like, no, what's the highest power thing we could do?
And the highest power thing we could do that I determined is, are these LP bonds? It's like, and it's like, no, what's the highest power thing we could do? And the highest power thing we could do that I determined is are these LP bonds.
And it's a beautiful thing.
I see it as like we built a mall, like our NFT marketplace.
It's like building a mall.
But then we kind of like repurpose them all.
It's like instead of just doing normal traditional NFTs,
like what if we hit this angle of it?
So yeah, I'm like, I'm proud of it.
I'm excited. Um, I think,
uh, I think this year, uh, this is our year of, of distribution. Basically we've been again,
just in the trenches building. There's like a million things that go in and building by the
way, for all the builders who you guys know, there's like a hundred tweaks here, a bunch of
tweaks there, fires to put out this broke that that's not like, it's just like constant.
So to get it to, to get something to like a finished product level or like a good solid
working product that's working smoothly is something to be proud of.
So again, that's where we've got to and I've kind of felt things like stabilize in that
sense over the past few months.
So I'm really happy with that. Yeah, and that was like the fun part where we can actually
show our tech. It's live. It's fully working. It's not like an idea, you know, like back in the day,
I would like try to explain this to people, but it was like an idea. Now you can actually see it.
Everything's fully working and live. So kind of like a cool place to be. Yeah.
Dope, dope, man. How do you measure success? Like what, what, what, what success mean for you
with gonna make it? What are the most important metrics for you?
Well, basically we all got to make it. That's going to be the metric. The metric, the metric
is a TVL and locked liquidity, you know,
as much the more liquidity that's locked.
If you go to our website,
there's like a stats page on the top menu.

And the beautiful thing there is that liquidity is locked down.
It ain't going anywhere.
And I love that chart because that chart is going to keep going up and to the
right.
And that's, that's where you want to chart going, right?
Because that liquidity is locked down.
So that's,
that's the ultimate measure of success for us right? Because that liquidity is locked down. So that's the ultimate measure of success for us
is how much liquidity we have locked down.
And that, again, directly helps everyone we're working with.
Those are tokens that cannot be sold.
But again, the user has the flexibility.
They can sell the bond.
The tokens can't be sold.
Liquidity is there for good.
Oh, I figure I should mention too,
like liquidity is super expensive.
You guys don't know.
The competitive protocols right now are paying like in the range of 60 to 90 percent. That's in liquid yield to attract liquidity. And if you go to some of those some of the charts of some of those DEXs or other projects, I mean, it's it's sad to see. It's kind of horrific because what they're doing is they're paying out with their token to attract the liquidity. And then, of course,
people farm that. And of course, they dump that. And so even DEXs that are successful are just getting hammered
in this market. So I think we have a really strong
partnership angle with DEXs, by the way. If you guys know some good DEXs, we're talking to
Camelot DEXs already, of course.
But yeah, like for DEXs, it's huge
because DEXs are paying out a ton of money
to keep liquidity on their DEX versus another DEX.
And then their token gets dumped and chart goes down.
And again, if there's anything I'll say on this space,
it's charts got to go up.

That's the best utility. Or not
the best because I love connecting with others, but
it's definitely utility when chart goes

I want to just get that TVL chart as high as possible.

As our TVL rises, demand for the GMI token is going to rise, right?
Because everything has to be paired with GMI.
And that's important for sustainable tokenomics
because we're getting the yield in GMI token.
So everything has to be 50-50 with GMI.
And we're covering the incentives too GMI token. So everything has to be 50-50 with GMI. And we're covering the incentives too.
Keep that in mind.
Like none of the partners have to put money out
to pay for these incentives.
We're covering all the incentives,
but everything has to be paired with GMI.
So as that TVL chart rises,
lock liquidity rises,
it's also taking GMI off the market.
So if we're successful there, then our token will also
be successful price-wise, you know, and otherwise. So that's really the move. So again, it's a really
cool place to be because I think a lot of times in the space, partnerships are like a bit extractive,
you know, or like maybe one-sided. And I feel like we have like a really beautiful win-win.
Like we basically built this for ourselves.
This is something that I wanted for us.
And then it was a fantastic realization.
And I got to give props to my friend, Paulo, who I hope he's on the space, but he's the
one who kind of helped me see it's like, no, it's like not only something to help us, it's
something that we can help a ton of other people who have the exact same problem that I
was solving for myself, which is again, if we're serious about winning in this space,
got to get that chart going up. I just can't say it enough. Again, if that chart's going up,
everyone's happy. The marketing does itself. Everything's good. And if the chart's going

You need to focus on deriving interest and value for that
token like this gives you access to the tools that normally you expect you know or your holders
expect to have access to in terms of like staking and yield and stuff but you need to build the
value for the token don't just think create a token price go up you know like you need to
