GMGN, thank you for joining us here this morning. We're going to start the show here in just a few minutes. We'll give it a few for folks to filter in, get our speakers up on stage while we wait here are some tunes.

Good morning and welcome to the Lucky Lead. Today is Monday May 1st.
May it, where did April go and seriously flew by but May is going to be big and we're starting the month off with a mega announcement today from blur. All eyes will be on that one here today. Plus everyone is just massively Pepe rich now except for me.
which is one of the reasons why I'm still here hosting the show. I see some friendly faces out there. Hunter, YMV, thanks for joining us today. As a reminder for any new listeners, we run the show every weekday Monday to Friday at 10 a.m. Eastern. It's a 30 minute show covering all the major news in crypto
So, Web 3 and NFTs, the show is meant for those interested in discovering the space, those actively buying and selling in the crypto and NFT markets, and those here just doing research. I'm your host, Tyler D. I'm joined by some amazing co-host here today. We've got Emily loves crypto, a Web 3 security expert and co-founder of the foolproof
We've got Logan Hitchcock, other in chief over at Lucky Trader and Reppin' the Lucky Trader account up on stage and then Ghost Contest our over at Lucky Trader deep in the Soar Air streets quietly and well and FT Trader definitely needs deep in the Pepe trade and still rocking the Nakamegos P.F.B. Ghost
good morning Tyler. It was a fun weekend watching the Pepe charts was pretty pretty wild. One of the most fun things that we've seen in a while in a historically bad market right now. So it was nice to have some positivity there. Agree. It was fun for me to watch even
with no skin in the game. I don't know that I've ever seen price action like that. Well, we'll get into it later in the show on the docket here for today. You could share three major updates. Blur's major announcement. Pepe, sorry, Bitcoin and FTs, Memeland and Doodles updates. There's a ton of news to react
to. Before we jump in though, Emily, you got your hand up. I'd love to hear from you. I thought you were kidding about not having any pepe. The whole thing about shikwans is that like they're accessible to anybody. You can go in with 20 bucks. How do you not have any pepe? I know. I just
I've been on the sideline. I got the Wojack trade early and then quickly realized that Wojack wasn't going to trail Pepe the way I liked and then I just got on the sidelines and now my co-p levels are just absolutely off the journey. But you're making this the final step. Like when you find the when you find the top of the pyramid of the Shiklin, the Shiklin roll, you got to
Like you go for the sub shit coins you roll them into the top one that's Pepe like how did you buy Wojack and not roll it in Pepe? It was just a terrible mistake by me I'm paying for it dearly every single day when I wake up and check the price Hopefully next cycle, you know, I'll have this figured out so in the next meme coin
That makes everyone rich here in three or four years comes along. Maybe I will catch that one. But then yesterday I was hoping for a dip and then it just doubled for me. Yesterday's all time high. Like what is happening? It won't break it down more in the show. I wanted to jump in but ghost. Do we have any housekeeping items for today?
Yeah, as always, if you enjoy these shows and because Tyler faded a generational wealth of Pepe, he will still be doing his recap of the NFT market every morning in the morning-minute newsletter. So we've got that pinned to the top. Make sure you subscribe to that if you haven't already. And then check out AI Authority. That's a Lucky Trader's new AI-focused venture over on Twitter and we'll be coming
out with our first newsletter on Friday. So give us a follow at Authority_AI for some new AI content. >> Very exciting. The new AI newsletter coming out this Friday. Deathlet will be checking that one out. All right. Let's get into our top story of today. It's not PEPA. We're going to go Yuga and at trio of updates.
from the leading NFT brand here. So they shared three major updates across Friday in the weekend. One, they hired XEBIC Games VP Mike Severs as their new CTO. The 12-fold project and its holders are getting bigger images, bigger prints, and a new puzzle. And then heavy metal previews were shared.
Starting with that new hire. I'm gonna read from our lucky trader post here, but it was Mike Severs He was formerly an executive VP at Epic Games He will be joining you guys the new CTO on May 22nd So Severs will succeed the co the UGLABS co-founder Karim Adelae in the CTO
role, though Adelaide will remain as a close strategic advisor at Epic Games. Severs oversaw their work on the Unreal Engine, Fortnite and the Epic Games store. He worked at Riot Games prior to join Epic, where he worked on League of Legends, Valorant and Legends of Runeterra.
So, you know, why it matters? He clearly brings a wealth of gaming experience at one of the top studios to the Uglabs teams as they are clearly ramping up their gaming initiatives related to the other side. This is clearly an area of focus for them who again just recently named their new CEO Dan
Daniel Allegre, who is an ex-blizzard executive, making kind of gaming a core foundational pillar of their ecosystem. We've got a quote from Daniel Allegre, the CEO, and I'll read it here. Mike has a proven track record of taking organizations to the next level. He shares our vision for how important digital identity community will be
for the future of the internet, we have an opportunity to be the Web 3 platform at the forefront of community and social engagement through media and entertainment. And Mike's expertise will help us scale to achieve that. So I thought that quote was interesting. As it's starting to show a new vision
for what Daniel Allegri has for you guys. I'm going to read another quote that Daniel shared in an interview with Carly Riley at Consensus where he said, "You guys not a gaming company. We're a content and community company." So I thought that was an interesting update.
From the CEO so I'm gonna pause here and just to this initial one up for any reactions to the higher or this potential I don't know if I want to call it a pivot but this but this new direction as a Content and community company goes maybe I'll tell you up first Yeah
I think I mentioned it last week when it happened on the show that I thought it was super bullish and just continuing to see these heavy hitters join Yuga from the gaming industry has to have you bullish on the games that they're putting out. And I think that we've seen a lot of other NFT projects that are moving towards companies as we've talked about previously.
The question is how they'll reward their holders and continue to have that web 3 kind of ethos that we've seen and I think of all the companies that we've seen I think Yuga has proven that they have the best track record of rewarding their holders So I think if they can combine the aspects of web 3 like rewarding the holders with the like huge gaming elements that these guys
have done at Epic Games and Fortnite and all those other ones like I think that's a recipe for a beautiful thing. So super excited and I think it's a super bullish hire. It definitely makes sense from the gaming angle right and clearly they're just building a stacked team with experience across the the gaming space
I guess the piece that I still have my finger on the pulse of here is this quote from consensus where he says, "Not a gaming company, a content and community company." I guess I can understand the community aspect of that, but the content pieces, maybe what I'm missing,
What type of content has you got put out unless you're just you're rolling the game into this you know we had the podcast from the founders Logan I'd love to hear your thoughts on this. Yeah I'm guessing this is a reference to the lore that they've produced thus far just just a guess but the ironic
The funny thing about that is that the lore is centered or at least thus far has been centered around these really weird kind of disgusting topics, like literal shit streams and things like that. Which I don't know, you would think flies in the face a little bit of potential
mass adoption. So I wonder if that starts to shift over time. But that'd be my guess in what the referencing regarding content. Makes sense. Any thoughts on this? Yeah. I suspect that came from somebody who doesn't know what they're talking about and it slips through the cracks. That happens.
It's funny for them not to identify as a gaming company because they made an enormous transition into gaming specifically and haven't been doing anything to support content other than being the topic of content which is definitely a weird way to describe yourself.
If you're if you're the the discussion topic, so I think it's just a mistake Emily not on board, but I mean this I'm this is Daniel Allegra. This is the CEO saying this at a major conference But like I don't know I stick my foot my mouth all the time Very true, and I don't have the kind
context from this quote, but in the the feedback given on the hire of severs, I mean, they also, he said something to the same extent, again, saying we have an opportunity to be the Web 3 platform at the forefront of community and social engagement through media and entertainment. So they're definitely thinking bigger than just gaming.
Those some additional thoughts. I mean I think it just leaves things open for the broad spectrum of things that the UG has already released. Like you see art with 12fold you've seen community through the board ABO club and they've got those plans for the physical Yacht Club and that kind of community there. So I mean I think it makes sense that
I don't want you could just to become a gaming company. I'd love for them to be bigger and it seems like they've got that vision as well. So we will continue to see what comes out on that media and entertainment front. Ghost you mentioned 12 falls. Let's get into that aspect of the update. So I think it was Friday.
Their chief content officer Michael Figgie provided a 12-fold update Basically saying that you know the originals were a 1000 by 1000 pixels They've updated the resolution to be 12,000 by 12,000 now and 144k resolution This version will be made accessible to the collector
investors, they'll also receive a framed physical print of their piece, which will be delivered for free. And I think the wild card piece is that there's a puzzle or a game now coming tied to the 12 fold collection. So, you know, some of my initial feedback on 12
I love the art and I thought it would look really good in higher resolution and displayed physically and it looks like that may have been the plan all along. So certainly an interesting and fun surprise for the holders. This whole puzzle thing though, that's the wild card here. I definitely thought this was just a standalone art project.
that you go wasn't going to have to touch anymore for the rest of its existence. But it seems like there might be more coming, which maybe adds a layer of execution risk into this thing as well. I think my question here, are you more interested in 12fold now? Go, Stump Cures for your thoughts.
I don't think I'm going to be a buyer. I do think that they look really awesome in this huge resolution. I just pinned it to the top and that thread shines some light on how big these physicals are compared to what the digital image looks like and it's pretty mind-blowing. I'm not sure that I love the game aspect of it. I think that they made a point
the game to say that it wasn't going to have any other execution to it. So it feels kind of weird to backtrack. I'm happy for the holders who who believed in it because I think that'll probably increase the price for them a little bit. And I also love the the white glove service and not having to pay for the prints because I feel like there's been a lot of different drops in the NFT space where
people pay a lot for the art and then they also have to pay a lot for a separate physical and I know that costs a lot but when you're making a huge purchase like that you almost want that white glove service where you don't have to pay for an additional print like it should just maybe come with it and I feel like they're setting a good precedent here with this rollout. Yeah and that's definitely a nice aspect it makes it feel like a
luxury piece of art, which given the price point, certainly, it is in line with what it is. I'm on the Ordnance Market right now. It looks like the floor is 24-Eath, but the next one up is 28-29. So there's only basically three listed under 30.
Do we remember what the what was the meant price this was a 2.25 Bitcoin? I think it was right around there. So a little bit under meant, but still holding in there. I'm very curious if we will see an influx and interest in the 12 volts. We haven't seen it yet. I think we've got one sale.
here in the last two days. So that will be an interesting one to track. The last piece of the update, I think we can just go through this one fairly quickly. Heavy metal, they posted a brief teaser video that showed 80 plus possible traits. I guess there's going to be trillions of combinations of these things.
and Garga had previously shared that there were over a thousand traits possible in this collection. So, you know, we will see just kind of a teaser to keep us engaged, but more to come on the heavy mental collection. Well, we've got a series of other topics to get into
So I want to keep our conversation going, but before we do that, let's read the news.
Did you, Genesis holders able to claim a free Chibi on Bitcoin that snapshot is coming today May 1st on the ordinal's topic Bitcoin ordinal set new records on Sunday three new records for total number of inscriptions inscription fees and marketplace volume which was over $1.9 million doodles
Open the studio on Friday to see why to claim as the hub for doodles to designs and a new home for all doodles digital experiences for rail packs were also announced. Forgotten Roons, the Wizards, they inked a global comic distribution deal for an upcoming series to be illustrated by Riley Brown, an official announcement expected this week.
And then a couple moonbirds updates there creating a new smart contract for the diamond exhibition while also teasing an upcoming monover's 3d world as home for the moonbirds community was not expecting that. And then Jack butchers shared new details regarding Opep impacts how to opt in and how the reveals will work.
3 and crypto news crypto was down on Sunday Bitcoin down 2% at 28,500 each down 3% at 18 50. Simulance everyone was just selling everything that they could to buy more pepe which full set on Sunday reaching a new all time high of 350 million sometimes Sunday morning and I
I woke up this morning and it was $530 million market cap. Just absurd growth on this coin over the weekend. And one holder was able to cash out $888 a day yesterday and just an amazing sale. A lot to react to there. But Emily, you've already got your hand up some quick reactions.
I was going to talk about ordinals. Do you remember when they came out a few months ago when we were wondering if they were going to stick around or not? And some people thought that they were like a flash on the plant. Pan and other people were like, "No, of course, you can put an NFT based on
basically on Bitcoin. Now that's not going away ever. I feel like that conversation is totally gone at this point. Like there is zero question about the acceptance of ordinals. Yeah, no, I'm definitely with you. I'm looking through Leonidas, some of his tweets here.
He seems to be one of the the primary mouthpiece is mouthpieces for this So I mean he's real big on anything like his historical or maybe historical or will one day become historical because it's current events so he loves this historical entities so 307,000
in description yesterday, 450K in fees, in description fees, and then 1.96 million in marketplace volume. I guess I'm just not close enough to this market and if anyone is, feel free to request, come up on stage and help enlighten me. Most of these inscriptions are just text, so people are just inscribing
like text in into these ordinals. And I guess I just don't totally get it. So I don't understand why tracking the number of inscriptions every day is a meaningful metric. Clearly it shows some interest in user participation. But do you care how many NFTs were mentored on the theory?
yesterday or the day before I'm not sure that matters. It reminds me of like the tracking EMS or something like when people are minting every single EMS and every single number down to 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 like that's what it reminds me of and I not that I'm bearish on ordinals as a whole
But tracking that as a metric I agree it just seems a little ridiculous But this one point nine six million dollars in marketplace blind is interesting to me And I'd love to dig in and see what is trading because that's significant You know especially that would make it effectively the number one Bitcoin or
overall would be the effectively the number one collection on ETH. So that's not something to just dismiss. So perhaps we'll get more info on that this week. Ghost didn't have the chance to tee you up, but would love to hear just your firsthand story as a Pepe Holder over this roller coaster weekend.
Yeah, well, I bought .2 ETH of Pepe pretty early, like on Sunday. I think it came out on a Friday. I bought it on the Sunday. So I was a few days late. And then that went up significantly, obviously. I took out my .2 to just free roll. And then I ended up buying 1.5 ETH more this weekend.
I think my total bag is worth like a 6.5 ether something so it's been a fun roller coaster It's great to see a lot of people excited about it a lot of people making money at a time when pretty much nobody is making money on NFTs I saw Jimmy's post Jimmy. Eath's post earlier today. I thought that was a clown comment
and just be happy for people that are winning, man. I just don't understand why you have to have so much negativity about what people are doing with their money and just be happy for people that are winning and that there's some positivity in the space that's absolutely been bleeding for the last six months. So I'll pin that to the top.
But I just hated that comment and I hate to see some of the people kind of forget where they came from when it comes to like not everybody has money Not everybody has has won as much as you so like just let other people win Yeah, I mean Jimmy's just trying to alienate anyone who follows him at this point I guess I already tweet
PSA if you bought Pepe or any other meme coin in the last three to four weeks, please unfollow me. You deserve zero. This is very ironic coming from someone who minted board apes, minting those at the time was a similar play. Not known
with the future hell. Of course, you can argue holding this long is a bit different. But man, rough take there from Jimmy. And when I want to get your thoughts, and then I also want to pose up the question is, is Pepe flipping Shiba? Like, where are we going from here? But in my taking away.
Yeah, like I just commented on I think it was Jay left on there's in the audience tweet talking about that the the thought of anybody who's into NFTs not being able to comprehend the cultural zeitgeist of a meme coin does not compute in my brain.
like I can't imagine being into NFTs in any capacity and not understanding why a meme coin would find success. Like if you can't understand the simplicity of a meme and like how that
how everybody wants to grab onto it and yet you expect people to like use animal pictures to represent yourself in social media online right now like oh my god I just I like I can't I can't make any sense of it at all. Oh no I'm right there with you I totally get it. I think my personal
I just feel I was late. I didn't buy it on the Sunday. It was on a buddy sent it to me when it was $6 million market cap. And then I just felt like I missed it. And then just keep keep feeling like it's hit at top. And I feel like there's so many top signals like yesterday, people are selling board hapes to buy Pepe. I think the day before that,
someone dumped like 110 terraforms and just instantly sent all of that right into Pepe. But that person's up like 3x. And the top, I'm not calling top, I think I called top on the meme coins and shit coins like a week and a half ago. Clearly I was just horribly mistaken.
all over my face once again. So I'm done calling top on this thing. Someone shared like this thing could go to 69 billion and the next crypto bull run someone was tweeting about yesterday, my Vindigen Harambe, I'm not going to fade that. Maybe this thing goes to 69 billion. I don't know. Ghost and then we'll go Emily.
Yeah, I mean, I just think that, like Emily said, I mean, if you're dealing in NFTs, which is a lot, basically, very similar to gambling, this is gambling too. No one's saying that Pepe is revolutionizing any financial system or creating anything new. This is literally just trading off a meme and
and a cultural representation that people identify with and love already. So I think that there's a lot of hate for that. And I think that there's also a lot of people that feel like meme coins are inherently just shady, which they probably are. But I think that if people saw behind the curtains of a lot of NFT launches and things like that too, they probably wouldn't be happy with what they saw.
It's kind of taking its own life now. Who knows if this never caught fire, if this wouldn't have rung, maybe it would have been. They might have done that previously, but it's here now and it's trading momentum, I think, is important. And it doesn't seem to be going away at this point. Yeah, it's gotten too big now. I think we can move past some of those initial worries and make some additional thoughts.
Yeah, I think your question was, you know, will it flip? She was like the the first successful derivative of a shit coin like it has no business having that market cap. I am very very comfortable in the likelihood
of something like Pepe flipping sheebe. Like the one thing I think it has working against is that this is not the first Pepe. It's just the woman was finally right place, right time. But like that's kind of the nature of any technology or any cultural element. Like
If you look back on cultural phenomenon, the first time they catch on is not necessarily the first time they were available or present. It just takes the right climate for them to really take hold. So, I don't think that that's too weird of
of a possibility.
just outtreated me but your logic makes sense yeah we and we all know that you explicitly told ct that you didn't have time to learn ordinals and buy an ordinal punk with her because you were busy with canto nfts and we know how that turned out man
really airing out all my historical linger here on the show. It's been a rough year, clearly, for me, and Critos to CT again, I can't wait to have her on the show on Wednesday. She can maybe explain this ordinal mania that's happening for all
us which take we desperately need to hear. I mean flipping Shiba, Shiba, I'm looking at the numbers right now it's a 5.8 million market caps, so we're talking just a 10X from here to get to Shiba. I don't know, feels programmed at this point.
Well, I guess Pepe is too big to ignore at this point. We'll continue tracking it on the show. We've got a few other NFT related topics to get into. So we've got this blur announcement coming today. This one, likely the most important thing happening in the NFT space, pending what this
announcement is, you know, we've seen glimpses of what is to come on their roadmap with ERC 1155s being tradable with art blocks potentially coming that one of the more popular guesses I thought it was a
long shot guess apparently it's a consensus guess that trait bidding could be the update coming here today. I'm curious for our speakers any guesses for what we are going to get out of the blur team here today and how it might impact the market. Go, someone put you on the spot.
I think that trade bidding is a good guess and I can't really think of what else they would do. I mean, I think that Pac-Man is super sharp and creative, so I think that he could have something up his sleeve that we're not thinking of. But I do think that it's going to be something that changes the game a little bit because I think that the sentiment has really shifted and I think a lot of us
including us on the show were excited in the beginning here when this first started and saying how blur was doing great things and I think that the sentiment in the space is totally shifted and now a lot of people look at them as as the cause of this this downturn whether or not they are or if they just accelerated what was already happening
happening who knows, but I think that they need to do something to turn around the sentiment and I think that they'll change course here. So we'll see we'll see what happens, but I do think it'll be something drastically different from what we've seen so far. You know, I agree with you on Pac-Man. I had a chance to meet him and talk briefly at the Blur launch at NNC NYC. He's very sharp. He#
I think there had been some unintended consequences just to be blunt with how a lot of this has played out. And I think that's something for folks to be aware of. Some people are kind of applauding if it does go the trait bidding route. I think Sam Antisteads is listening. We've had a few conversations.
about this in D. EBS. I mean, the most likely outcome is we will see an initial influx in liquidity for those mid-tier traits, potentially that the high end, and then they'll potentially start turning down as the net impact will be
folks who don't actually want those mid-trade, mid-tier NFTs are going to be the ones buying them for farming reasons. And one of the biggest lessons we've learned this year is you don't want people who don't want the NFTs ending up with them because it's just driving floors down. And I'm oversimplifying the conversation, but that's kind of the
level. You know, we've seen again some of this farming play out in the last week. So we saw a Wunderpowl, a whale bought up like 1500 of these, the forward from like point one to point three. I started seeing some people writing threads about why Wunderpowl was pumping and it was solely due to this whale who had been dumped everything
paying in the four 10, 66%. And then now, doodles, doodles pumped coming out of their studio update on Friday, which on the surface made sense because I saw people on the spaces, I saw people on Twitter excited about what doodles was doing with the studio. And generally it does look cool.
But the reality is there's a whale who's now up to like 340 or something of these doodles and Him a cumulayme has clearly been at least a driver of the price action We've seen and if that farmer you know chooses to dump you know, it's gonna have a negative impact on the price and that just makes it such a difficult
environment knowing that piece of information for me it makes it much harder to buy into doodles but I mean go so I'm curious for your reaction how are you feeling about you know like would you buy a doodles knowing that that whale is out there or maybe any just broader reactions to the to the studio announcement from Friday
I think that across the timeline you saw a lot of positivity for doodles for the first time in a while and it seemed like the studio was really well received. I'm not super keen to move right into doodles yet and I still think that I want to see some positive recovery in the market as a whole before I start buying some actual NFC.
I'm happy to miss the bottom like I've said previously, I'd rather miss that bottom 10% and get the trend right than catch a falling knife. So I'm still waiting a little bit, but I do think that it was definitely a positive rollout after what has been a brutal stretch for doodles. But there is like that that dumper is lurking.
So until we start getting rid of the inorganic market behavior, it's really hard to trust whatever numbers we see coming out of this space. Right there with you Logan some thoughts. Yeah, I think goes to spot on the short term stuff is very, very scary with all the dumpers or blur farmers still
I'm not going to be able to do anything, but if you're waiting for doodles to do something, to prove to you that they could potentially be worthy of a longer term hold, I think it's an okay time. The studio I was able to get in and mess around, and I don't have too many wearables to really equip.
and create my preferred custom doodle at this point in time. But it was a really smooth experience, which of course they mentioned that likely to be bugs. I didn't experience any in my short time playing around, but I think it was a really big, small victory. One of the
those first bits of small victories that will be required for you to make their way back up. Logan, I appreciate that. I'm right there with you. I don't think the studio release, this single event is going to be enough, but it's one of those, let's start stacking a series of positive events, I just start
rallying that morale. But from a buying standpoint, me personally, I can't buy knowing a whales holding 300 plus of these. I had folks in my comments saying, you should just have a long-term vision and none of that matters. Well, I think that's nonsense.
If you've got 10 eighth of deploy and you can buy in at 2.9 or potentially 2.5 in a day or two, you know, buying three versus four of that matters. So I think it's still important to track and be aware of what is happening, you know, especially in these PFPs. Coming back to Blair and guesses, I'm going to go out on a link
and say we're going to get a couple updates today. I think it's the straight beds and I think we'll get one of either the 1155s or art blocks. So that'll be my hot take here. We will see what happens hopefully within just a few hours. All right, folks, we are over time
here. But before we go, what is dropping today? Alright, we've got the memes by 6 529 coming at 11 a.m. Eastern. We've got UMK by Fernanda Horrez coming at 1 p.m. Eastern. We've got an 8 per union species TBD and of course that blur announcement coming some time to
a slower day of drops with the memes card along with that art blocks. That is an open edition. I want to say this is maybe the second open edition that we've seen in the art blocks ecosystem is priced at 0.03 E. So maybe check that one out if you are interested. The wild card for today, of course,
that blur announcement. So get those notice turned on. All right folks, that is it. That is our show for today. We'll be back tomorrow with Peter Jeans, potentially D's at 10 a.m. Eastern. Thanks to our listeners for tuning in. Thanks to my co-host. Everyone, enjoy your Monday. Let's make you a great day.
Bye everybody.
