Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. All right.
Well, depending on where you are, but...
Hopefully, we get some people layer into this, man,
because these artists cook for this, man.
It's very dope to see it all come together. I layer into this man because these artists cook for this man.
It's very dope to see it all come together.
Meme Deathmatch number seven.
For those of you who don't know, with Meme Deathmatch,
the idea behind it was like with the Jungle Bay collection,
there's some ugly ass, undesirable ass apes that just get tossed on the floor over and over and over. And so the idea was, all right, let's, this is survival of the fittest
here, bro. Dead weight is dead weight, right?
Let's fucking scoop these off the floor and let the artists
harness their memetic sorcery capabilities
to change how they are perceived
So we put them in a death match it's been 10 of them this one is 10 different apes only one will survive the artist determines who survives the rest of them
shipped to the burn address which obviously gets rid of supply gets the shitty apes off the island
gets rid of supply gets the shitty apes off the island fortifies the island so that's the idea
um and so also the winning ape right the one that is depicted as the victorious one
the artist gets to keep but it also
infuses some new riz into that ape, which was previously undesirable because there's these
fucking crazy epic pieces that show them in a very different light that add new layers of
fucking meaning and memetics to the fabric of the fucking, of what that ape is, what it represents.
It's a piece of the lore now.
Whereas it was just a Muppet ape
that got dumped on the floor before that, right?
So I think, let's do this.
Let's go through these, man.
I'm gonna pin to the top of the mountain.
Everyone feel free to come up, shoot the shit.
Definitely would, this is more just this this
space is dedicated just to enjoy and appreciate the art of uh of everyone who contributed to this
to this contest um and uh and so let's let's just go from number one and really just like if you're here for anything but just to sit back and enjoy the art, this is not the space for you.
We're here. The deathmatch is a unique, innovative way for supply control.
And we want to just fucking take a moment to appreciate some of the nuances that may get overlooked in these art pieces.
I think that having this thing where you're like purging supply of the undesirable apes,
and you're all of a sudden adding new layers of value and meaning to the one remaining surviving
ape, which was previously undesirable, is an interesting way to proactively
shift A, the supply dynamics, as well as the aura of the token, of the underlying token, right?
So let's go one by one. What I'm going to do is I'm going to pin to the top of the mountain whichever submission we're going to be
talking about. Then I'll remove that and I'll move to the next one. I made a grok video of each one
too. So I'm going to pin those two because i think it's really dope to see like guys look at
the look at what can be done in just a tap with when you're given the kindling of this
incredible hand all of this was hand-drawn art right when you're given that as as a foundation
rock can take that and fucking run and that's that's when grok is only doing six second videos or eight second videos imagine
When we can just press the button and we can create stories with these with such low friction shit
That would have taken a whole animation studio to do prior right now
It's just a couple clicks and you can put together an incredible
impactful piece of content so the first one is by
Our guide D cot impactful piece of content so the first one is by our guy d cot jbm sacrifice of apes tokens culture forged with blood ink and fire on chain by the jbm decentralized artist collective
here you have a victorious ape with the uh with the mfer fucking armor holding the heads of two of the other apes that it emerged victorious
from. I also want to say what's up to my guy, Louisette. How you doing, bro?
What's good, Zacasa? How you doing today? I'm good, man. Just here to take a little time out
to appreciate the incredible efforts of the artists that uh including yourself that added some firepower to
um to this to this uh ongoing you know theme of uh of innovative supply control on jungle bay island
yeah bro i mean i'm you know new to the digital art Grinchfire actually kind of inspired
me to finally go get my iPad and start you know learning and drawing I've been drawing every day
for you know various communities or just things for myself making drawings for my wife but uh
yeah man it's the Jungle Bay dudes have really struck something inside me that I haven't felt since I was like a teenager
And that's like the drawing like this one you've got up right here
Blue or black pin ink that was my go-to back in high school. I mean I used to have notebooks full of sketches and drawings
that's dope that's a dope art piece yeah like i you know just to go to that too and and just to
Let's go that that's a dope art piece
your point like that is one of the intended ripple effects of of jungle bay of jungle bay island is
to kind of get people to just reach into their creativity bag and see what actually is there if
they actually if they put in the time and and fuck around and find out i think all of us have it
in different ways and to be able to hone
whatever version of that is for you, and then to fine tune it like a martial art
is an inspiring and very like therapeutic process that I think people overlook because life gets in
the way, you know? And so, you know, these, these moments, these spaces talking about the art,
appreciating the art, they have subtle
effects that permeate over time, I think, with people's view and their own pursuit of creativity.
And I mean, look at this, dude. Here you have Decot, who's like an absolute wizard with
the pen, like his attention to detail, even the shading of the clouds, right?
Um, the lines, the line detail, look at that ground, bro. Look at the, the, the amount of
fucking like the texture that he has is a balance here of the lines. And for anyone who's not sure
what we're looking at top of the mountain, um the mountain. I have the actual piece opened up.
And just kind of looking at the different parts of it.
A lot of the stuff gets overlooked, man.
You got to open these images up and zoom in to the different quadrants.
Look at the texture of the fur on this motherfucker, man.
It's incredible the contrast and the different shading that he does.
And even though it's black and white, there's a certain emotion
and a certain fucking somber, violent, victorious effect that he accomplished here.
So shout out to that guy, D-Cott.
Louis Jett, feel free to add anything before i move
to the next piece no you nailed it man like i mean i think the black and white or you know black and
blue just pen style ink art is underappreciated and like you said i was looking at some of these
on my phone and i was like well you know what let me get on my tablet so i can actually kind of
look at the details better and the amount of, minute details that are put into all this,
that kind of cohesively make this image or any of these images that the jungle
babe have made is just, it's astonishing.
So I'm going to remove those from the top of the mountain.
I wonder if I feel like people know what this is.
I don't want to confuse people with multiple things.
So I'm going to remove everything and we'll just put the artist piece up as well as their animated version.
So next I'm going to do number two from our guy a newer artist to jungle bay island visco uh
this piece first i'm gonna so i'm gonna do the animated first and then the most recent i'll do
the actual piece first let's go over to the uh the animated version which is the the one on the right
uh i mean dude if you see what what grok did here with
like taking the fucking sword out and the flames coming and just this like this this like crazy
like aura of of victory and triumph with this stupid kovac uh covid that mask wearing face it
still does something different right when you're like when you see it
in this way and that's like that's like changing with with memetic sorcery changing um in real time
like how these symbols are are received and it's by using art to change them um and now like you
know if this guy gets chosen the others get burned and and like, you know, if, if this guy gets chosen, the others get burned and,
and, and, and, you know, he lives on forever on the Island. But if not, like even someone that,
that has an attempt like this will not make it. Um, now let's move to the actual piece that he
submitted that the still image, you've got this really dope blend of reds and oranges i mean to get this like fire um this like fire
blended ocean mixed with like the the the battle the the post-battle fucking hues of of you know
real warfare that has gone on right just this this kind of remnant of absolute
destruction is a very cool way to to depict it i see our guy visco is in the listeners shout out uh
shout out visco for this incredible piece i see you got the skull there. I also like this, like the blurred vision, right?
If you look in the bottom part of the image,
you've got this blurred land,
whereas there's a sharpness to his face
and expression in the top half.
But it's just this very chaos,
the contrast of chaos at his feet, but victory in the upper half.
I feel like that is something that I picked up from it.
And by the way, I'm just an art enjoyer, so this is just my own interpretation.
You guys can feel free to come up and say whatever you think.
Louis Jett, feel free to chime in if we missed anything
or we move to the next piece.
No, I like this one a lot.
What I get out of it is like in a post-apocalyptic warfare battle,
and I kind of see it as an ape looking up on all the carnage
at the ape that killed everybody else and survived
and is looking at its next
victim and that for me is what the shaky effect does is kind of represent that fear of the person
looking at him holding that sword exactly yeah you said it you said it very well if someone could
share the the space to the jungle bay chat for reason, the way I'm sharing it is showing as this weird link,
and I don't think people are seeing it.
Maybe it works different if you guys share it for some reason.
I must be copying the wrong one, but whatever.
But, yeah, shout out VSCO.
And now we're going to move to number three.
And by the way, anyone on Jungle Bay Island,
the Frog Council is now voting over the weekend.
If you are not in there yet and you hold a Jungle Bay 8,
please DM me and I will send you the link
for where you can go vote on the meme contest.
It's something that, you know, is kind of a, it's something that we appreciate everyone who's a part of this story
to have a say in who they think is the dankest, who created the dankest piece.
And so, yeah, I definitely would appreciate everyone who is on Jungle Bay Island to go and cast your vote sometime over the weekend.
Next up, from an island absolute goat, is our guy, Copy Boys.
First, let's look at the image render, or the Grok video version.
Grok didn't do it justice right it's a little sloppy coming
out of the the uh the ropes right he kind of some of them just jumped through but i just love the
forward motion like like absolute insanity of this moment of just everyone out of control this royal
rumble vibe uh jack uh copy boys has jb superstars for his vibe market collection and and this really uh
highlights the things to life like this cool wwe nod of uh that a lot of us grew up with um but
doing so with these apes in in the in the death match so um really dope and then let's move on to the actual submission um if you if you open up the
one on the left he's got this victorious the the ape he's choosing out of the the fucking uh bottom
feeding apes he selected this one um holding the seed in the uh in the pot but it's still broken
still alive though right he's got Brainlit doing the fucking suplex
but he's getting farted in his face, right?
If you look in the top right,
he's got the version of me for next fight,
like pointing at him, which is kind of crazy.
But look at the crowd work
in the back right quadrant.
Look how he chose to do the crowd.
The way, if you see how specific he is with defining features of the apes at focus,
and then this really cool abstract craze feel that even though you don't see people or see images or characters, it feels
very complete and full. I love what he did there. And he's got the Jumbo-Megmes in the bottom right
quadrant. You've got the Riz Black Groove. You got this bloody ass ape spitting blood out. You
got the other one that's down. You got the Bobo in the
background with the Bobo sign. So it's like all these different people that are rooting for their
favorite memes, right? The home team memes in the background. And if you look at the bottom left
quadrant, you got Bobo beat up, but still holding on to one of the undesirable apes and you see Tali, a little stone still peering on
and look at the different choice of those spectators, right? You see in the bottom left
with the brown heads, the vacant eyes, very fucking kind of creepy, but cool. And then
lastly, going to this top left, we got the brainlit getting the fart on and suplexing a motherfucker.
got the brain lit getting the fart on um and suplexing a motherfucker and uh i just think
there's such a cool choice in general he's got the the uh defined fucking tattoos of the
ape that are just like a more brolic version of the actual ape and uh and and i just love this
man copy boys is a is a staple on jungle bay island a pillar, and it's fucking dope to have him, you know, roll up his sleeves for another meme death match and another meme contest.
Warden, I wanted to say what's up to you too, brother. Good to see you. How are you?
Bro, I'm doing great. And, you know, this is the first death match I've watched, and every piece of art tells a story.
And it's freaking amazing.
I mean, I grew up in indie wrestling watching WWE,
and, you know, this one that Copy Boys did tells a story
just like everything else in wrestling and everything.
And, you know, there's only one person that comes out on top.
There's only one Jungle Bay ape that's going to come out on top.
And this is a great story to look at.
Luigi, if you got any other.
No, I was just going to say, looking at it,
I didn't catch the fart cloud.
That's fucking hilarious.
Yeah, that's the thing with these men.
People just kind of look as they scroll,
and they don't realize how much attention to detail the artists put in, man.
It's inspiring what they do to add these layers of lore into it.
And you'll see that a lot of the artists,
they use references to the
to other art works of other artists other home team artists and they subtly weave them into
their pieces so it's just so dope as the contests have gone on to see how other art artists have
how the artists have like given a nod to their their fellow artists by weaving you know references to other previous
work into their own art it's such a dope like symbiosis to see on you know materialize yeah i
mean those artists kind of like you said nodding to other artists in their pieces that creates a
stronger fabric within the artwork itself exactly um if anyone else has something to say on this copy boys piece cool
if not let's uh move on to number four but shout out my dog copy boys um all right let's see here
let me just get the next one up boom boom all right oh dude this one this one is special man hold on let me full let me first put up the
look dude junie june is and i know that he doesn't i know he i know he doesn't really want to do
these meme death branches because he's such a gentle soul and um and he always finds his own way to like to make them authentically his
but if we go to the um well actually i want to look intentionally i want to look at the one on
the left first before we go to the grog version i want to go into the one on the left and um if you
scroll down if you open it up and then scroll down to number four you got um this piece by junie june right and it's called it says uh
the winner who loses everything is blurry i will lose my friend from this wind
because they were forced to battle to the death only one survives it's a somber moment right
but if you look at this contemplative like day after the blood bath look right you got these these birds that are marred with
their with with blood in their own right flying around the island still lives on but uh this
this motherfucker knows what had to go down and he's just kind of sitting there in this in this
day after haze right but look at what juni does with adding these like different subtle pastel blends, right.
to add texture in ways that these colors wouldn't normally be harnessed for.
open up the pick and you go to the top,
he's got the JB on the, on the,
He's got these different hues of white and purple and green and red that are,
go into what would normally be wood,
right? And then the way he does these birds, it like adds action to them, adds like motion to
them. It almost feels like there's more than them just as still birds. And look at it, he's holding
this green seed of life that represents life and growth on Jungle Bay Island, right? But there's this heavy weight
that this expression carries, right?
If you go down to the bottom left,
here you've got what would have normally been
this beachfront bungalow on the ocean, on the shore,
and it's bloody water around
and dead comrades that are surrounding
And then in the top left,
you've got this like sunlight-esque contribution, right?
You've got these different hues of yellow that he added,
but they still feel just like this.
They feel like one color,
even though there's such a contrast
of different colors here. And if you
move to, let's move to the Grok version, because Grok really fucking cooked on this shit, bro.
Look at this. You've got the bird dipping into the blood-soaked ocean. You've got his expression.
He's looking down. And he's like saying hi to his bird friend for a second there because
that's all he's got left there man it's like this really crazy um emotion that he fucking
harnessed here man i just thought seeing grok bring it to life like that did even it just
enhanced not in a way that was artificial in a way that just hammered in a lot of what he
was already captured, but just amplified differently. So that's my two cents on it.
Guys, feel free to chime in on it or not before we move on.
Yeah, I'll go real quick. That's interesting that you said, Junie, you obviously know him
much better than I do, that he has a gentle soul, because that does reflect in the art piece.
You know, it's a very somber image that portrays the emotion of he had to do what he had to do to survive.
Yeah, and along with that, I mean, it hits the feels.
You're the last one left.
It's deep you you know if you look by uh just the his right side our left side he's marked the ones that he has lost and yeah it's
just like it's somber because you're the you're the last one left the only thing you got is the
seagulls for your friends and you've got the remnants of the people that you've lost below you and, you know, next to your head, you know, counting the losses.
And it's such an interesting choice, right?
Like, because there's no confines.
It was only just to pick to your best, you know, your vision of like what it means to highlight the winner of this death match, right?
So it's like to see the different choices that they make and to see that Juni really like had a vision in a different way.
Like he just thinks outside the box in this like very beautiful and still gentle and his gentle soul vantage point,
still gentle and it's gentle soul um vantage point but but still capturing the the the carnage
you know in in a way that is just fucking crazy in my view right and you know like like all some
of the others you know the the death of the other apes could be by your hand or it could be by nature
i mean he's sitting there yeah last one left he's holding on the last bit of life
the last seed and that's all he's got and like when grok has it where he like reaches to the
bird it's like he's like almost trying to make see if he's got the same level of friendship and
he realized just a fucking bird and just like takes his hand back, you know, it's just like fucking I don't know man
It's really dope. So shout out Junie June moving on or did I a Luigi?
Did you have anything before I move on feel free to just chime in?
I'd also don't want to drag it. You're good brother. I chipped in right before warden, but uh, okay
I've got to go run. I'll try to hop back. Yeah, no stress. No stress. I'm driving me up man. man good vibe dog no worries great great to have you bro great to have you um let's see here so Thank you. Thank you.
