Good morning. How we going, Tom? First in, as always.
You there, mate?
Ah, you are. Nice. Cobra, how you going? All right, can you hear me? I can hear you, mate. Right.
Good morning, good morning, Gilbert. How are you? Oh, I'm good, mate. Uh, been a busy day today.
Are you? Wait, you're just getting off of work, right? Ah, I'm not. Uh,
I'm actually on my break at the moment. I'm also time off, so. I got you. Yeah.
Did a little bit of errands around the house today
and dropped the kids off at school. Yeah. Gilbert, give me a thumbs up if you can hear me.
I guess he can't hear me. I think he. I did see him. Um. Yeah, he did put a a thumbs up before.
I got you, Cobra. Are you there? Cool. Uh, did did um, Spy get in touch with you? Yeah. All right.
Yeah, nice. Yeah, she's a member of our team. That's the one I told you was going to
probably contact you. Uh, on that thing you showed me. Uh, the. Directory. As a matter of fact,
Omega seen it too. He really was a fan of it, if I'm being honest. Yeah, actually,
I think it's a really good idea, and having a layout of you know where all Nightforce is
because you can sort of connect. Well, without giving away everyone's privacy, right?
You can sort of see where everyone is, and yeah, I think that's excellent. It's a great idea.
I agree. I mean, I know some people are a little scared of being docs,
but there's a leader that's doing the map thing for all the leaders. They just put me right
in the middle of Lake Pontchartrain, so I mean, nobody really knows where I'm at, right? But yeah,
I think that's a great idea. Jay Coco, how are you? Well, I have to bring Jay Coco up.
I haven't spoken to her in a while. She runs a cool little space. We got to talk about art. Yeah,
I love. That's cool. Send us a request if you want to come up anytime. So yeah,
I um I thought to myself, you know, we should really start thinking about you know the future
of DeFi within the Midnight ecosystem because everyone's starting to build
all these amazing products. You know, we were just talking about Cobra
and his little project he's got going on, and you know. I think we should really highlight
how important, you know, the the privacy aspect of of midnight, you know, and and and the
and what the future will be with with DeFi. Um, so. So yeah, I I haven't really made um any sort
of notes down for tonight, but um I did put in I I did create a. An article today,
and I probably I'd like to read the first bit because it actually happened to me
when I was driving back from work a couple of days ago. Um, so the article's called "What a What
a Peel in Car Window Taught Me About Blockchain Privacy." So, um, I'll read it. Um,
I knocked off work and jumped in my car. As I was driving, I looked into the rear mirror
and I noticed my my tint was starting to come off. In the process of thinking about
my car window tint, it occurred to me that it was a good way to view privacy. I mean,
no one loves a car with no tint or very weak tint. Because one, because of one, one,
the sun rays can hit you at a certain time of the day, and you can end up with a weird-looking tan.
And two, when you when you are stopped at the lights, minding your own business,
is quite embarrassing when you look over and see the next the car next to you watching.
You sing whatever is on the radio, and and or just minding your own business,
picking picking your nose. Um, why can't why can't our windows be dark by default?
And I know you were going to say, well, the law states that you can only have a certain percentage
of tint darkness. But what if there was a tint on the market that the dark it was dark by default,
but you could change the tint to become transparent whenever you needed to, i.e. Random breath test.
Or if you are in an accident, they automatically just become transparent. In blockchain today,
we have the same problem. For years, transparency has been treated as one
of the industry's greatest strengths. The more transparent a system is, the better it must be.
At least that is what we have been told. Transparency helped solve a real problem. So basically,
I was just sitting there thinking, you know, like, and. As I was, as I was thinking about it,
I was thinking, you know, this this is a very, um, it's a very, ah, what's the word? It's,
it's a very rational thing to think about because, you know, we like to have our privacy driving,
and we don't want people seeing in. But yet, and and obviously the sun burning us. But yet, there's
certain people on the road to keep us safe that want to be able to see into our, into our car. So.
When we talk about midnight, midnight's exactly the same thing. We can;
it becomes private by default. And whenever we need an audit or we need to show verification
on a certain something, we can verify it without showing our entire portfolio
or whatever we have that we don't want to disclose. So that's one thing that I thought was,
you know, I thought was something pretty good to to bring up. First up on this space, and yeah,
that's a pretty cool analogy, man. I dig it. I can tell you, turning DeFi, I'm a,
I'm a chicken shit. I'm not gonna lie. All right, so do you mind if I bring that up, Omega? Yeah,
go ahead. Actually, um, I was wondering, are you gonna stay in for a bit? Sure. Um,
are you are you able to co-host for me just to bring up anyone if I'm just reading and stuff? Um.
You know what? I honestly have never done that before. If I if if I can figure it out,
I'd be glad to. I'm going to invite. No one I know is really good at it.
I don't want to put her on the spot. I'm going to invite. You think you can do it? Um,
and I'll invite you as well. Let's see. There's Jinx. Oh, there's Jinx! Yay! And I'll approve.
Jay Coco. Hello, hello. How's everybody doing? Okay. Oh well. Just give me one minute, quickly.
Hold on. Good morning. So yeah, let me let me. Can I continue with my thought? Yeah, bro. Go ahead.
All right. So like, I'm fascinated with DeFi, and I mean, I'm like that's one of the things that.
I think it's so cool about midnight and with the interoperability and how it's going to open up
doors for different opportunities for other coins like I mean Bitcoin and Solana and Ethereum.
I mean, I think he calls it the top six. I don't want to babble, but anyway, yeah,
I'm really excited about it. But I've heard nothing but horror stories, right? That I don't know.
You know, I mean, I mean, I don't know enough about it to to make an educated
and a safe sound decision on it, right? So I never did dabble in it, but I want to.
The one thing I liked about Cardano was having self custody and being able to earn
passive income without it ever leaving your wallet. Right? That that was like a big turn on to me
with with as far as Cardano goes. But I knew that on when it came to DeFi, you would have to like.
Put your tokens in a, I don't know, kind of like a basket, I guess, or with somebody else's custody,
and then it it earns, and there's a possibility of of impermanent loss,
all kinds of stuff that I just don't understand enough about to make me say,
kind of make my butthole pucker about any time I make a transfer, right? So I just never did it.
Now I understand that they're doing some really cool stuff with passport, midnight passport,
and things like that. And the biggest push is going to be the the DeFi aspect of it. I mean,
I think there's a lot riding on that, especially for Cardano, right? So I really hope that they get.
A smooth transaction, a smooth system that where people can go do something
and not worry about experiencing any of these horror stories that I quite don't know enough about
to you know give a good description here. Yeah, that's it. That's all I wanted to say.
That's all right, mate. Jinx. Sorry, mate. Yeah, sorry. My my son started building his first.
Lego set by himself, official. Not just not just playing like with the blocks and so on. So yeah,
but it's it's crazy that he's doing it like on the tablet, like the like the instructions is on
the tablet and so on, so he can rotate the model and stuff like that. So yeah,
he just came to show me that he's finished with it. So yeah, that was everybody doing.
The good thing about Lego as well, like it it give it shows kids that like
when you complete something. The end result of something finished, fully finished,
which is actually, yeah, it's it's not the, you know, obviously the, you know, sorting stuff out
and put it all. It's not basically like that. It's it's about finishing something, right? It's yeah,
it's a bit more deeper than that. So yeah, luckily with with with the yeah with the Legos,
he's he's quite creative with it, um, because I started him very young on it, um.
And told him to have the picture in his head and then try to to build it from from the pieces.
So he basically took I had like a Millennium Falcon, not the the biggest ones,
like a medium size one, but I would say it's almost like half a meter in length.
And he basically disassembled that, and that was some of his starting starting blocks.
So that's cool. Cool man, I like seeing seeing him do the do stuff like that.
How how how do you like my how do you like my profile picture, mate? I literally just screenshot on
the the WhatsApp channel for for for Tom as well, aiming at at him getting one as well.
I think I have a few few that I've seen that that might suit his personality quite well,
because that's one thing about the the with NFTs as well. If you want to put one of them on as
as your as your PSP, it sort of has to have something of your personality. Or looks
or something to that extent in it as well. Yeah, no. But yeah, that's a hectic week, man. I'm not.
Yeah, you've you've had a busy week. Busy, yeah, yeah. I actually the launching and.
Have you guys been in the workshop last night? Um, with or this morning? Um, with Charles.
How cool was it? Was yeah. I was listening to it. So I joined the whole thing,
and it's like five five thirty a.m. For me. Put in my earphones. I was trolling a bit, saying hello,
blah, and he started going on. I think I probably made it like 20 minutes into the thing,
and then I just my body said no, you you need to sleep. And I woke up this morning,
and I was still on the Google Meet thing. So yeah, yeah, a little bit silly about that, but yeah,
what can I do? It's good that we had that backup with the Google Meet. Yes,
I actually want to make a suggestion to them to to do the Google Meet in future as well.
The reason being is the the video quality and stuff. From Charles's side when he shares it,
I don't know how you guys experienced it on Discord, but on on for the little bit that I was awake,
it was way better quality to follow what he's explaining as well. Yeah. Um, how was it recording it?
Jay Coco, you you were recording it. Hey, was it easier to record it with the um? What's it called?
Google Meet. It doesn't matter to me. There were. It's actually easier on Discord because less.
It took me ten minutes to figure out how to record on Google Meet, and unfortunately,
during that time, I irritated the man himself. I've seen that. I remember the the microphone.
Please mute that. I think that's some of the last things that I remember.
It was funny too because you could see in his like in his facial expressions,
he was trying to ignore it to the best of his ability. He did. He was locked in. I was like,
he has a lot of patience. He does. I'm like, please don't fire me. It reminded me of, I I used to do
audio visual for this East Indian guru Kurnamaji, and I did the audio visual.
I I was the audio visual assistant, and that's back in the days when. You know,
we're wrapping wires around our arms and and you know, working the soundboard and stuff. And me
and the sound guy were were just fucking some things up. The place was full. It's this big ashram,
and and all she did was she just looked up. She she never looks at us during this. Looks up at us
and she just kind of shakes her head. And we're like, Oh no! I had that same feeling. Anyway,
either one's fine. Now I know how to record Google Meet. Not a problem. Up to you guys. Excellent.
I know there's a few few tools for Google Meet as well for like transcripts
and stuff like that as well. That that might be useful. That's why I say I I think
I'm personally I I think that the Google Meet might be a better way going forward as well,
and especially when. If if you want to call somebody up to ask questions and stuff like that,
I I just think it's it's the workflow is a little bit easier because Discord can be a pain
in the butt sometimes with with connectivity and microphones and stuff like that as well. So yeah,
it's really good that we're able to finally you know find out where we are in the sense of
where we can talk about things, which is good. And I, you know, like about the passport
and stuff like that, and it's just, it's good to know that we can, you know,
we can start speaking about these things, right? I tell you what, I'm so excited for passport.
It can't come quick enough. I think it's actually going to be a cornerstone, just like of Midnight,
and that's just my personal opinion, just like Midnight City. Yeah, and I think,
I think the passport is like. The highlight of what we're going about,
like what we're talking about tonight, which is obviously the future of DeFi,
the passport is like literally the the key to all of this. So what what I'm also curious about
is um so. We have a fiat on-ramp and off-ramp solution on our platform,
and our partner with that is Cardarian. Now they they have a very unique KYC mechanism
where once you've done that KYC with the system, it basically generates like a token for you. So
if somebody else is a different platform that requires KYC uses the same a token system,
you don't need to do the KYC again. You already done it before, so it carries over. Now,
what what I'm curious is to see how we can utilize midnight and the passport aspect for KYC
for platforms like that, to so that you have basically a universal KYC that you can carry on from
from our platform to Binance to wherever you need it or normal web two stuff.
I think that that that for me that will be a quite quite a cool way of using the whole system.
James, is that through midnight? I mean, is that that token generated like with
on the midnight network? Can you use? No, no, no, no. So, so that's that's what what that's what
I want to explore is if if and how that can. That the current system of generating the token
for your KYC, how that can be moved over to midnight? Because obviously we have
that your identity proofs and stuff like that that many many projects are working on,
but specifically for the KYC for that has to do with fiat on ramps and off ramps.
Because as soon as you have an off ramp, you need to have KYC capabilities. On ramp, you don't need.
Right, and that that is where it connects directly from back to your bank,
where the KYC KYC is very important. Yeah, that's my curiosity. If I if I did have like a token like
that in my wallet, and I wanted to go use somebody else's system, that information would be
able to be shareable with that other system. In other words, they would have my full information
instead of me being able to just. Yes, and and that is something that that that we try to um
or we discuss it because we have the ability to to basically do the same service as what
they are doing. So instead of a user paying a third party for the KYC, we will be doing the KYC
and and collecting the fees. But with with obviously with midnight and so on, there's extra features
and abilities that that opens it up to us. So this is something definitely
that I personally want to explore. To see how how we can improve upon it as well. Hell yeah, man!
That that's the key. I think that's a great idea. What do you think the state of DeFi is right now,
Jinx? Are you referring to like on Cardano or what? Because my my home base is Cardano,
so just just DeFi in general. I don't know. I I think. If you if you look at what's going on
in the world, there's so many factors that scared everybody away from what this industry is all
about. And I think a lot of the big players are waiting to see the final version or or of
the Clarity Act and so on, and how the banks will get involved and so on.
Because obviously that was one of the big holdups is the banks didn't want the The yield on
on stablecoins because that's literally direct direct competition to them. Because the thing is,
you get what whatever x percent by your bank as interest on your on your on your money,
but they use your money to generate their own yields wherever they they do their business,
and you get a small percentage of that. Whereas with DeFi, you get all of it.
You don't need to split it with with somebody. And also, I think as well. Sorry,
I think the user experience is another issue. It's too complicated. Yeah,
with the current state of what you can do in DeFi and so on. Obviously,
if if you if you're in the know and so on, and you know how to go, how to move the funds
all the time, and so on, by all means, you you will make money. I've had a conversation
with somebody that all they do on DeFi is they have their capital and they move it from from
like farming pools to farming pools. So if something new pops up, they they get in in the beginning.
They there for 24 hours to 48 hours max, and then they get out. So they they always catch
that those super super high. Returns those percentages. It always starts at like insane numbers,
and then as people get added to the pool, it drops like super fast. And that's all they used to do
is just jump from pool to pool, and that's how they make money. So, but for the average user,
they're not going to do that because they don't want to to jump through hoops.
And this is something that I've today actually had a discussion with somebody that was comparing
our our fees to to another platform, but that platform is the direct dex on Cardano. Now,
for an aggregated service to compete directly with a dex is is impossible.
Doesn't matter who you are, you you won't be able to do that. But I I explained to them
that the the average user wants. To go to a place, they want to see everything in one go. They,
if there's something to do, yield whatever they want it in one place. They don't want to go from
platform to platform in in order to to look for things because they always.
It comes down to you don't know what you don't know. So if you don't know of a specific service
in a ecosystem, you won't use it because you don't know about it. So and I I think
it's just to to simplify the whole experience for a user is the key. I almost want to say
the less buttons that they need to click in order to get the result, the better. Yeah,
and I think that's—I've heard Charles talk about that, where he wants just to have a button
just to click across to Bitcoin. You know what I mean? And be able to start trading. You know,
just just real simplified. Yeah, go ahead, Tom. Yeah. All right. So I'm on the same page
with you guys as well as Charles. Like I, I, I have my investment account.
I have a professional investment guy that handles my money, and he grows it
and he makes sure he gets a certain this x amount of percentage or whatever my risk tolerance is.
Right. And it's easy. I just put that there, and he handles that. That's how DeFi needs to work,
right? You got to be able to make it just as easy as it is to deal with the banks. Now,
don't get me wrong. I cannot stand the banks. I realize what they do. They take your money
and they loan it out the moment that it goes in there. That's they use it as backing. So
and then they don't give me any interest at all. Basically, I mean they they they they dangle like
point point point something in my face. It's ridiculous the amount. So they make money off
of all your money that you keep in there, and they don't give you anything. Right. I think so.
That what you said now about the your financial advisor basically managing your portfolio.
I think in the future, hopefully sooner than later, your agent. Will become your financial advisor.
That you have your same like you do in your traditional finance. You have your risk profiles
and stuff like that. The same sort of matrix that they would use will translate over to to DeFi,
and your agent will go out and do all of your DeFi things in order to reach the the matrix
and stuff that you've set out based on your portfolio. Right, right, and I look forward to that.
But I can tell you this: I'm not going to take my whole 401k and Put it into crypto.
I'm gonna play around with it a little bit first, man. Dip my toe in, make sure the water's warm.
Yeah, 100%. Um, do you think also liquidity and the fact that the current state of crypto is
just so transparent is another, you know, current state issue that we're dealing with?
So maybe use a use a scenario for you. So say, for instance, the Clarity Act
or whatever other acts come come to be, and and so on, and and the banks start using stablecoins
as well. There might be a scenario perhaps where the bank has gives you access to stablecoins
on your normal account, either USDC or whatever, whatever, whatever it might be,
and then you don't have to go. Necessarily on an off chain like you would do now,
you basically just have your your bank account linked to it. So and then you can do
your DeFi DeFi things as well. That might be a easier way for for for normal users. Yeah.
But I I would assume that the bank will start building out their own DeFi products
and still take their cut. Yeah. And you and yeah, hundred percent. Well, yeah, no,
that's good that we we've started speaking about you know the current state of it
because it it's good to see where we're at, right? And you know, at the moment,
everything is just absolutely so so public, and you know, no one can no one
can like Tom was talking about with his 401k. No one can put that on a blockchain
because it just it becomes so transparent, and that's what. Gets me really excited about the future,
you know, of DeFi with privacy, because the future is is basically being able to do what we, well,
what we thought we could do through a bank, but with with ourselves, right,
and and hold our own custody, and be able to, you know, travel to a different part of the world
with our 401k or with our super. Some places call it super super annuallation, um, which is so cool.
I'm actually going through right now. I'm just speaking to a couple of people about setting up
a self-managed super fund. There's a few, a few people that do do that in the Aussie Telegram,
and yeah, a couple of my friends as well. So, yeah, I want to invest a little bit, maybe. Also,
maybe here's another idea. So currently, if you want to provide liquidity to a specific token
and so on, you need to have two assets: the token and the the one backing it. So in Cardano's case,
it will obviously be ADA. But it would be cool if we have a platform where the user
doesn't have to deal with creating that LP manually. They they literally just say
they want to provide liquidity and they want to provide five thousand. Dollars
or whatever liquidity, because I don't think for the average user or new users being onboarded,
they need to know how to create a LP and then stake it and all of that.
And and that comes back to what Charles, what you mentioned, what Charles has said before is
the one button theory. And that is something that in my my previous work,
some of the design work that I used to do is. If it's something that that I that I do often,
I I I don't want to do it. I automate it and I click a button and it generates the designs,
drawings, everything. I don't want to do the same things every time. Yeah.
And if if you have a system in DeFi where it's easy, you have X amount, you want to provide it here,
cool for this project or this protocol, and this is what you will get as as a reward percentage.
Cool, done. Click click the button and on the back end, the smart contracts go out
and and does what they need to do. Yeah, hundred percent. And so, with DeFi at the moment,
DeFi at the moment, we're definitely fighting a big transparency problem.
As as Tom was talking about, the you know, every bank account being public on online, you know,
that's something that we don't want. You know, that's definitely a privacy thing.
But then at the same time, we don't want the trust me, bro, scenario. We want to be able to hold
our keys. And the thing is, if you also look at like platforms where the people are doing
leverage trading and so on, some of the more professional or successful traders,
their wallets get flagged, and then people track those wallets, and then it becomes like
a PvP scenario where where you are competing against other people where In fact,
you just want to all be as successful as possible, but because you are fighting everybody,
then it becomes ah, I'm shorting this guy because he put on a long or whatever the case might be.
Whereas if the DeFi is, like you said, there's a privacy layer to it. I think it the success
might be a little bit more spread across users if if that makes sense. Yeah,
and I think majority of the decentralized finance group is people that do trade, right? Whereas,
and that's because you know the transparency. Obviously, when you trade on a, you know,
a centralized exchange, a lot of it's not seen. But to be a true, a true DeGen, right?
You want to trade on your chain. But then there's a, you know, I'm I'm really sad that Tap Tools
is gone. But you could see everyone's wallet and you know all the all the transactions, right? So.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, Tom. Yeah, so I was doing a little research when I was on,
when I first came into being a mod on on Discord, and I was wondering why all these people
with the scammers, the ones that Tink loves to target and get rid of and ban,
all these guys would write you outside of Discord, not within the not within the server
on the outside, saying I'm tech support, and they would want to send you, you know,
get your address, and you think it's you think it's Innocent, because you're just giving them
your address for them to send something to you, so you don't think anything is is up with that.
But what they're actually doing is they're farming. So if you give them your address,
they'll yeah they'll send you a transaction. But once they do, they have access to what is in
your wallet. And if you have enough, then they put you on a list, and they sell your name
and your wallet information to a company, basically, and they make
it their life mission to basically try to scam you, you know, get you to to click on something that
you shouldn't click on, so they can drain your wallet dry. But yeah, that's all I wanted to say.
That that's why it's not good. Selective disclosure is going to be like the greatest thing
since sliced bread for crypto. That's why I'm excited, anyway. Is to have privacy.
It's going to open up so many avenues in real-world situations, and also make the individual
protected. Hundred percent. Thanks for that, Tom. Ah, Jay Coco. Yeah, I didn't think of that. So,
not a scammer, obviously. Just not that smart in that way, but I did. I did used to love to take
a small amount, and I would follow certain wallets and just day trade, like Catsky.
I would day trade Catsky back in the day, or Hosky. It was, it was, and I would be following like
the Minswamp wallet or other whale wallets. Now I won't be able to do it on midnight. WTF?
I'm kidding. How? Looks like you'll have to learn how to use TradingView. Ah, not nearly as fun.
Your agent will do that for you. The thing is, like with with AI, technical trading,
technical analysis, and stuff like that, will get a lot easier with with AI.
That's that's my my personal opinion. The if you just consider how how AI has evolved in
the last few years since since it launched, it's it's insane. That got so far out of the bag,
and it will never go back in into the bag. So yeah, no, there will be ways to to get To
to still do do successful trading without just copy trading wallets. That's right.
Pandora's box has been open. It's you know going back now. It has. It has. And and you're right.
To be an effective trader, the tools are much. Much greater. Didn't mean for that to rain.
It's just the Dejan gene. That's all. That's all I was doing it for. I wasn't actually doing it
to try to be a whale. But you're right. And and I I think with AI trading as well in the future,
they they don't care about human emotions because currently day trading
and stuff like that is You have to have the technical abilities to read your charts,
but you also need to understand human nature and how the markets are reacting to certain news
or or events. Whereas agent or something like that, they don't care. They literally just look at
the facts. Yeah, but you also remember as well that, especially crypto trading with crypto,
it's all you know. Once they bring in AI. There's no, there's no human human touch to it, right? So,
basically, the trading becomes monopanous, and and and you can start to see that as well.
You can see when you trade, right? You see the patterns are more jigsawy, more more sawtoothish,
and that's because of AI. There's no, you know, there's no human touch to it.
Trying to figure out what the word is. So, here's an example for you. So, myself
and Patrick created a bot. The trading bot on Polymarket, only on the Bitcoin market,
so the five-minute up or down market. Now, that is a prime example of where a human trader
can never ever be successful on that specific market ever again, because it's the trading decisions
we you have to be within. I think it was ten milliseconds or something that we ended up with
in order to make the decisions and and and so on based on. A few data points, obviously,
and for a human trader to do something like that, it's near impossible to do,
unless you're like a genius that, yeah, that you just sees numbers everywhere. Yeah,
what I was trying to say was, you know, I just thought about it just then. The The emotion,
the human emotion, you know, the the decision making of a human, it's it's totally different to
to AI, right? And you can see that, like. From blast bull run to this bear cycle, you can,
or this bear market, right? You can, you can see, you can see when things are trading sideways.
You can, you can see that there's a lot of AI in place that's trading these, these, these sideways,
and it's smart, right? If if things are trading sideways, that's how you would trade. And then,
but it's definitely going to be interesting to see how this all plays out when everything's got
selective disclosure behind it, right?
Where people can Uh yeah, trade like that, which will be yeah pretty crazy. Um.
What? Hey Jinx, you there? Jinx, can you hear me? Yes, yes, sorry. Yes, I. Sorry,
I thought I thought everyone went quiet for a second. Um. Yeah, so. So what? Why do you think?
Actually, I see. I see. I see. Alex is down there as well. Yeah. So he's a prime candidate
to to talk to us about agents and midnight as well. If if you wanna delve into that side
of things as well. I think I think he's. It's pretty early for him. Usually he's come up before.
But I think the time right now is yeah, it's very early for him to talk. So he can get a coffee.
Get a coffee going. But I do love Alex. I do love it. But yeah, what what was I going to say? Um,
so yeah, why why does privacy matter for DeFi, mate? What like why? What is what is going to change?
You know, from current current DeFi. What what do you think is going to change?
I think it's going to level the playing field a little bit. Um, like like I mentioned that um,
the current way it's set up, if if people start Tracking your your wallet
and your account because you are a relatively successful trader. Where if if the stuff is private
and so on, it becomes a little bit more difficult to to do something like that. So,
I on the one hand, yes, it might might level the playing field, but on the other hand,
the very successful traders won't have competition as well. So that might be a other side
of the coin. Yeah, because because obviously when when everyone can you know see everything,
opportunities definitely emerge, and and then that's when the exploitations come out, right? Um,
but yeah, yes, no, no, hundred percent, definitely. But like in like when we talk about
institutional adoption as well, right? Like, do you think well, like could could a major corporation
like realistically execute large financial strategies? So I have my sorry mate.
I have my thin I have my tin foil hat on currently. Go ahead. You don't want
you don't you don't want to tell me that J P Morgan Chase, Black Rock, Yellow Rock,
whatever rocks they are in the in the world. You don't want to tell me
that they all have already been developing DeFi protocols and software and products.
Let you just getting the ball back into their courts to control. Before they come out guns blazing,
if if they have not been doing that for for the last few years, and with all the regulations
and stuff that's coming out, that will just be a dumb move on their part
if they haven't been doing that. So that's my little tinfoil theory that they let
you just waiting to pull the trigger and start releasing their own. DeFi protocols.
What would be key is which blockchains they will start implementing it on,
unless they literally don't care and do it on everything that they possibly can to capture as much
of the market as possible. Which is also a scenario. Yeah. Yeah. It's um.
It's it's very hard to talk about because I'm not really too knowledgeable about the institutions
over in America and stuff. But I think that if If they do have some sort of stake within, you know,
midnight, it's, you know, it's going to be hard for them to. Well, obviously,
we want them to have it because midnight is is all about showing the world that we can, you know,
give privacy to everyone. We can give them that that that selective disclosure. So,
whether you know J.P. Morgan or whoever tries to get a stake in, which they would,
because obviously they would have. Large sums of ADO, so they would be able to claim.
Whether they have, you know, that or not, it's it's it's a win-win for us because we want
people to see what we are building. We want to we want them to showcase
and front-run our technology. So, I think, yeah, I think I I understand where you're coming from,
and I do believe that it doesn't really matter whether, yeah, it doesn't matter who's buying our,
yeah. Tom. Yeah, just to highlight what you were saying, and I think this is the point
you were trying to drive home. J.P. Morgan, all these other banks that
that that are are concerned about losing their ass when if the Clarity Act passes
and crypto is regulated, and they can put yield on stablecoin. The one good thing about all this is
where Midnight comes in to play is that it doesn't matter what top six coins
they decide to use to do business with, or even if they create their coin. Midnight is so. I mean,
they've been working on Midnight for what I think almost six or seven years now. They said.
So they're therefore that far advancing to selective disclosure, being able to choose
what information you give out, and it's not like Marrero where it's all private.
So this will be able to be used as in regulations. Midnight is poised and looking really,
really pretty for open world adoption with DeFi and all these other financial services and such,
or a medical field or whatever it is that. That a real worst world case scenario you can come up
with. So regardless of what comes out in the Clarity Act, I think Midnight is probably
the one crypto project that is going to be able to be utilized and sitting pretty
whenever it does go down, if that makes sense. Yeah, hundred percent. And to just just to rattle
a question off of that. Because obviously, you know, we're talking about large corporations.
Do you think, or could a major corporation like realistically execute large financial strategies
on a full transparent blockchain? Honestly, could could they do that? I just, I think they can,
but I don't think they will. Yeah, they can't because because they have transp,
they have you know they have large treasury management's. You know, they they they have
large sums of money that that they need to keep private. They have large, you know,
large liquidity positions. I'm trying to think what else. Oh, and investments. They have
massive investments as well. Like that information, we they they cannot any sort of corporation.
It they it'd be silly. It'd be silly to put that out there. Yes. That was well.
One of the issues with with Ada was that the VCs weren't able to get a controlling share.
So the tech was there; it was better than I thought. Everything I still do, except now Midnight.
But the VCs want that, so those investors want that with Midnight. Can they get that? If not,
there are other blockchains already trying to compete. Base just released a privacy component to it.
Trying to compete. So are some others. Can midnight get that VC interest? Do we actually want it?
Philosophically, no. But for a foundation, yes. So either way, I think we'll be good. But yeah,
institutions would definitely benefit from the midnight tech. It blows my mind.
And it's just crazy because, like, when you when you've been in the industry, oh,
when you've been in the ecosystem for you know a year or two, you start to see how hard
everyone works and how passionate everyone is. In what they're trying to build, and yeah,
you can just see that Midnight is built from the heart, and you can see that the the tech
that's coming out right now is just—it's so frigging good! Like it's so good. Who, Jinx?
So I I just um did like a quick search um to to fact check myself, but if you
if because we're obviously talking now about institutions um. And strategies that
they might deploy in the future. And if you compare, because obviously Ethereum is currently
a lot bigger than Midnight now, but if you look at the quote-unquote institutional partnerships that
Ethereum did, most of them came only years after Mainnet went live. Now. And that is something that
that most people might miss is the sheer amount of institutional partnerships that
Midnight has already from the get go. It's it's it's insane. So I I do think that Midnight is in
a very strong position in that regard. To that we are a lot more friendly towards institutions
and giving them tools that that fits their needs as well. Hundred percent. Jaco, is your hand?
Do you have a ghost hand or? Oh, must be a ghost hand. Here, let's see. Uh oh, down. Is it?
Is it gone now? Awesome. Sorry about that. No, no, it's okay. I was like thinking, oh,
was that for the question before? So yeah, like, where does where does midnight fit in
with all this? You know, like, you know, well. Obviously, we've we've talked about um the DeFi
and um like the previous DeFi and the issues and the state of of DeFi and now
and now we can start talking about midnight and one of the biggest things that I can think of
right now is the select the selective disclosure and how how advanced it is
and how um it could benefit everything businesses even institutions. Yeah,
it's it's the one thing that separates us from everyone else is the way that all the zk proof proofs
and how the mechanisms work is just flawless. Yeah. Yeah. Sorry guys, I'm trying to rattle off stuff
to talk about because I sort of didn't really I didn't really plan this one. I sort of just yeah,
because I I got home and from work I did a three week hitch. And I've been doing stuff at home,
so I sort of didn't really plan. I haven't really read much to talk about tonight. So, yeah, Tom.
Hey man, I just wanted to let you know I'm still here. I'm I'm putting out fires in Discord,
so I'm sorry I didn't answer. Oh, what's happening in Discord? Uh, nothing.
We just just one of our members uh uh accidentally got kicked out by Discord. What? Yeah,
it's it's it wasn't nothing he did. Um, so yeah, I just wanted to let you know why I didn't respond.
My bad. No, it's okay. I'm. I'll be back just a minute. Let me finish doing this, and I'm.
But I'm still here. That's all right. I'm just. Yeah, I'm just. Yeah, I think Heinsberg.
He just posted too many of the stickers that he made for the Discord. Yeah. And the bot was like,
"No, this might be spam," and then he got heated from from the server. So, no, he will be back.
He wasn't banned. He was just. Yeah. Removed. So you you should just get back in there. So. Yeah.
So. Yeah. Yeah, the poor the poor guy. Uh, he he was so wrecked this morning.
He I he woke me up at three. I kept hearing ping ping ping. He was DM DMing me. I was like,
"What's going on here?" I thought maybe it was Jinx kicking out people. No, it was him.
He was like freaking out. So yeah, all right, I'll be back, guys. Righto, mate. No, it's all good.
All good. Yeah. Um. Yeah. So. I think the future of of DeFi is definitely going to be, yeah,
a lot different and a lot more secure and safe. And also with with passport coming out,
it's going to make compliance. It's going to. It's like bringing that back.
It's it's definitely the you know the cherry on the top of the cake, right? Being able to yes, yeah.
I I think that's that's like one of the best selling points. Once it's created,
it's going to it's going to change a lot of things, right? Especially now,
all these like there's a lot of people building a lot of apps, decentralized applications,
with you know like voting stuff, you know ID checks, all that sort of stuff is getting built. So
once you can get this passport right, and I don't want to talk too much about the passport
because I'm not sure what they're up to with it or Where it's at, but I know it's coming,
and I know it's going to help us a lot with holding. So, so with with the with the passport
specifically, sorry. Um, if you look at actual passports for your country,
obviously certain first world countries have the biometric passports as well.
So you have your actual document, but you can literally just walk through the scanners, and it
and and you're good to go. So, I would love to see a point where doesn't matter which country
you are, your your passport is a digital thing that is linked to your your identity. Now, obviously,
a lot of people have issues with their biometrics being available to to government and so on.
But if you if you just think about the hassles of applying for a passport,
going through all the stamps every time, standing in the queues, if you lose your passport,
if you're on holiday, and so on. Whereas if it's just a digital identity,
still with your privacy stuff that Midnight offers, I think that could be some another cool use case
as well. I'm not sure if it is something that the foundation. It's going to be as in there.
It's going to be interesting how it works because obviously I haven't read up about it. But like,
say if you have your passport on your phone, and you lose your pa, you lose your phone.
Like is that? You can just log into another device with whatever. It so it'll just be
because that is that is it'll be attached to your your seed phrase or? Well, I'm not sure. Um,
it might just be like a like a um. I don't know if it would be a platform or I literally don't know.
Um, it might be a a question to ask um in a future call. Yeah. Hey Alex, how are you? Hey mates,
how doing? Thanks for the hello. Once to finish my coffee. I knew I knew straight away what
you were up to. Actually, it's tea, not coffee, but yeah. Oh, nice! What sort of tea?
I usually drink herbal tea at the morning because I think it's better for my health.
Because I do fasting at the morning, so herbal tea fits my, you know, bio rhythm
or whatever you call it. Yeah, especially when your body's in ketosis. It's um good to, yeah,
have something to fill your belly. The day. Indeed, indeed, and I have I have a I don't know
how you call it in in English, but I have like a a sentegogram. I don't know how to translate that.
It's something that um to um to in order to scan your bones, they provide you a radio setup. Yeah,
I know what you mean. It's a bio a biometric scanner, I think. Yeah, with with something
that is radioactive that they put it into your blood system, and and you need to pour it out
afterwards. So I'm drinking a lot of liquids now. So you're trying to become Spiderman or something?
Indeed, I didn't try if I glow in the dark or not, but that would be in this interesting experiment
for selective disclosure, of course. Hundred percent. I was I was listening carefully what what
you guys were talking about. It sounds like you you you were experiment in in
in Charles's um that glow in the dark plant thing. So maybe you got some of the wrong words.
You ate the leaf, Alex. You're not meant to eat it. Yes. We can we can invent
glowing glowing humans. That could be superseding glowing plants. Yes, the funny. Yeah. So.
I think you were saying that you heard us talking about the passport. Yeah, passport, if I, yeah,
very interesting topics that you were talking about, and this is where we are. You know,
all these tipping points where all these technologies are colliding and creating something
that is really, truly hyperexponential. And I think it is, as you said, you know, it will.
It already changed our lives forever. That we are just starting realizing how.
Yeah. Yeah, and do you know anything about the passport? Have you? I probably know most of the same
that that you guys know. I'm I'm trying to reach out to the passport team in order
to understand more and how we can collaborate. Charles did some talking about that in the
in the sessions that we are getting into the as part of the of the knife force.
Not too much to disclose. The one that I fell asleep on. So I missed that.
I need to go find a recording. So my body didn't want to stay awake, so I fell asleep on on Charles.
Yeah, yeah. But but I also talked to Seba, and what he mentioned mainly is he's thinking about
you know abstraction. If you if you if you see what Charles is speaking about the strategy of this
you know square that that that he's thinking about you know compliance the pet technology which is
the privacy enhanced technology the agents and And the abstraction passport is kind of allowing
that to happen because it will allow you to interact with the systems, the privacy,
the rational privacy systems, without even having to touch the the network
or knowing anything about the blockchain. So I think onboarding and abstraction is one
of the key things that they are pursuing on that. At least is is what you know I get from
those conversations. I cannot tell if that is the the case or not because it's a very you know.
Non-publicized project, obviously. Yeah, that's right, and that's why we sort of just don't want to.
We don't. We don't want to overstep what we're talking about, but at the same time,
we want to explain to people that you know this passport is going to help us with the DeFi.
It's going to help us once all the applications are built for certain things. Right,
we'll be able to utilize that that service to you know log in to things. You could.
Use the passport to verify an age for something. You know, you could use the passport to hold
certain data for that application, right? So, it's yeah. Your schooling record, medical records.
Yeah, that's. It will be. Yeah, it will be your your life basically, everything um on there.
So yeah. Yeah, and I thought it was. I see, I see, Jackers that in the listener. So
if you want to come up, send us a request, Doug. I don't know what time it is. As you
as you were saying before on on the DeFi and agents, what you need now is to to have a sort
of a you know secure and rational disclosure harness for agents, because basically
if you are putting all your information and mandates into agents, which I think is is
where we're heading, you know the the agent economy is that they will do everything
and we just be sitting behind them, you know making or hope rational decisions
or or putting some criteria behind them. If you allow them to do that. You cannot trust, you know,
text files as as we are doing with AI today. You know, you're you're putting a mandate
in the text file, and you hope that the agent will interpret that file
and and and you know behave like what you want. But it's also very hackable
and and it's very insecure because everybody can read a text file. So the the thing I I one
of the things that I that I think mainly is going is how we can or allowing how we can secure
those agents. You know, providing them with an identity, allowing them to provide
that they are who they. Who they claim they are, but also these things that Chins were mentioning,
which is the mandate that they have, what they are meant to do and what they are not meant to do,
also what tools and and sites and access. Are they allowed to to to access? And then the limits,
you know, because if you provide them with a wallet, are they enabled to spend the whole wallet
or just you know one k per transaction? Basically, you you were talking about you know corporations
and organizations, and I've been there most most of my life. It is exactly what corporations do.
You know, they they have a set of rules and processes and the chain of commands and checks
and balances. To you know, be sure and be certain that everybody within the organization has a level
of autonomy, but also will abide the limits that the corporation wants them to abide.
So this is the same thing with agents at faster speed, with the you know
certain rationalization of those agents,
but also you know to figure out the boundaries where they will operate.
Thanks for that, mate. You know, it's it's good to hear. I love. I love listening to to what
you have to say because just everything that you talk about is just so technical
but really easy to understand and especially especially with you know your previous roles you know
in institutions and stuff like that like it's yeah it's good to have someone like that
on board especially being a lit yeah yeah Tom. Hi. Yeah. So my last experience with Lace Wallet
basically was like this. I I tried the mobile wallet, and I basically was setting it up
for the first time. I didn't have to learn a seed phrase or anything. I it was I think
it was just done by. I had to create a password, one password, and register my thumbprint,
and then poof, I had a wallet. That's how easy this needs to be for real-world adoption on
on a larger scale with everything. And I really believe that Midnight is pushing us
in that direction, right? That that's the that's the great part about. I'm sorry,
I'm getting feedback. Sorry, am I blowing your ears away? No, no, you sound good, mate. Gotcha,
gotcha. You sound crisp. So here's something for you, Tom. So we have the ability
on Cordano specifically now to, for a user, they create a login with their email address,
and the email address is used to spin up a wallet on the back end for them. So they can,
if they want to, like do a backup of their seed phrases, they can do it.
Or they can let you just use your your email and two two factor authentication to log in as well.
And you you're saying about with adoption and ease of use, that is something that we we also try to
to focus on to have the the user experience be as easy as possible. So like we also have like
a username, almost like a Ada handle. But you have to have it linked to
a two-factor authentication application as well. But what's nice about it is then you have
the ability to let you just use that as your login details to do trading and so on.
So it's never linked directly to your main main wallet as well. And I think
if if you can start using Stuff like that, and incorporate midnight's privacy on top
of that as well. But to keep it the the user experience as simple and smooth as possible,
I think that will be a big win for everybody. I think as well, like with just the future
of DeFi itself, like lending is going to be a big thing, and to be
able to you know selectively disclose that sort of stuff is going to be huge. Being able to,
you know, and I think as well, I think Charles was talking about Harry had a project in Africa
with Cardano, right? Lending and stuff, utilizing Midnight with that is like it's it's the cherry
on top. Hey, like you can keep everything private, and I love that. Just here's also a scenario
for you. So, say for instance, you have The user experience on the front end,
which is like a web two, you have your normal email login and and and your one time pin
or whatever the case might be for your your second authentication, but everything on the back end.
So then you might have like a a daily let's call it a daily custodial wallet. So you fund
that on a daily basis, but it's You fund it from your from your main wallet.
Now your main wallet will be your your midnight wallet. So you have your shielded assets and so on.
But all your trading that you're doing is done through this daily wallet.
Let's call it the daily wallet. So even if you disclose that wallet to somebody,
they never know exactly what your trading is besides that wallet. They don't know
where it's linked to or anything like that as well. Just to to make it as easy as possible. Yeah,
that's sick. Hey, Jack, how are you, mate? Are you? What time is it where you are, mate?
You must be pretty early. Hey, guys, how's it going? Sorry, I've got the background noise here.
Am I coming through loud and clear? You are, mate. There's a boy cleaning.
The boy did the roof next door. I'm fucking move over here just to. I'm also getting some some soap
on my laptop. Oh, nice. How's everyone doing? Yeah, we're good, mate. We're just um having
a few conversations and yeah, it's been great. We're I sort of came back from work because I work
rostered work, so I wind way out, two weeks on, two weeks off. So I just got back.
I did a little bit of overtime, so I haven't really had anything. I haven't had any time
to prepare for tonight's space, but we're sort of winging it here. It's been pretty good, man.
We got a good crew. We got a good crew. Who was on the call with them with Charles last night? Yeah,
I was. I think. Yeah, I was. I was for 14 minutes, and then I fell asleep. So, you guys,
you guys enjoying those calls? Oh yeah, mate. It's um, it's it's great to just listen to um,
you know, the the heart of of Karana Midnight. Hey, it's yeah, it's really good to be able to um,
learn. Like if if you don't remember everything um, through the whole call,
you certainly do learn at least one or two things each call. So it's yeah, it's great.
And what's nice is a few things repeat from call to call as well. So, like you said, if you
if you don't understand a concept the first go, the next time you you okay he's spoken about it,
I know, and now you start getting that information again, and over time that will for for for me
which is not the techiest person that that helps me to to have the concept stick in my head as well.
For sure, there's so many layers as well to how this technology shows up in the world, right?
And Charles has got that eagle eye vision as to how it comes to fruition.
And there's a lot of layers to, you know, the technical unlock there that needs needs a little bit
of repetition for us to come to to understanding. But I find that those calls are great
because Charles has got such a great vision for midnight for how it's going to change things,
and he's obviously such a A prominent figure in the space, he's got so much experience
to kind of have gone through so many iterations of blockchain technology from
the very very early days to where we are today. I think he's very very uniquely positioned within
the space to kind of see what needs to happen to bring us closer to that place
of mainstream adoption, and that's something that like every time I talk to him
or I get to hear him speak, it just resonates so clearly. And and you know one thing that
I always reflect when when I hear the man is that he he is a he has an amazing teacher.
You know I'm a teacher as well, and I can relate to what the effort that that he does.
He is explaining very complex topics to a you know very diverse audience,
and and he makes the the complex simple. Even though it has its limits because it is complex.
He always take this this stance as a as a teacher as a as somebody that is there for allowing
us to understand those things. That's why he uses the the famous you know whiteboard
that now is blackboard, and I love that because I relate with when when I hear his his speeches.
I relate with when I first come to Microsoft in 2005. I used to go to conference where Bill Gates
were you. You know, exposing, and it was kind of the same situation. The sensation that I have
is kind of the same because Bill Gates used to do a lot of large speeches on stage,
and he was kind of a known, not a good, you know, showman, but he was, you know,
like a nerd explaining a lot of stuff. So from one speech of one hour, you can have like you know,
thirty concepts within that. So you have to read it. Afterwards and stuff,
and it's kind of happened the same with with Charles, but Charles do an extra effort on the
on the teaching side, you know, and and it's where he came
because he his first you know became famous out of Bitcoin when he created the first Bitcoin lessons
online out of Coursera or something like that. So I love that because he he puts a lot of effort
on that, and I think that is a perfect onboarding thing, you know, because he's explaining
hard things in in in normal terms. Yeah, absolutely. Absolutely, guys,
and appreciate all the work that you guys do as our as our Nightforce to to not just receive
that message, but then also bring it back out into the world, bring it to your communities,
to your audiences, to your communities. A big part of of what we're trying to do, right? You know,
there's there's building the technology that changes the world, and then there's telling people
about it. There's a gap that we need to bridge, right? And so there's building it,
then there's communicating in a way that people can understand it, and then there's
the dissemination of that information and of that mission, and and making sure
that people understand why it's important and how that they can they can get involved.
That's really where you guys come in. Yeah, and it's really hard to try
and voice voice the Australian community. They're they're a little bit behind, I think.
There's a few selective people that are really into crypto as such, but yeah,
people just spend every day, you know, working and enjoying life out here.
So it's kind of hard to just go, hey, have you seen this? Do you know what I mean? So,
but I tell you what, our um our midnight um telegram, we have a giveaway happening. Have you seen
that, Jack? I have seen this, yeah, really, really good stuff, guys. So yeah, we're gonna try
and get some, preferably try and get some more Aussies into the disc into the Discord
and the Telegram. Um, it's just it's very hard to get because it's a a community within a community,
so it's it's kind of a niche thing. Um, but yeah, as many Aussies as we can.
If you any of you guys see or meet any Aussies, just direct them straight to us. Because yeah,
I'd like to see more people, more Aussies in this space, or you know, just discussing in the
in the Discord. Will do, brother. I'll also let Taylor know. Taylor's our head of comms.
I'll let her know she's an Aussie to to share it with her mates as well.
I'm sure she has some peeps. Um, boys, I got a drop for my next meeting,
but I was glad I was able to drop in for this. Thanks so much for everything you do.
Look forward to catching up again soon. Please guys, no worries, mate. Before you leave,
can I thank you? We lost them. Oh well. What was that? You got something for me? Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Two minutes. Real, real quick. Last night, of course, I love. I learned something new every time.
I don't know if you did. You get a chance to hear the recording, or were you there? Not yet. No,
going to do it today. So, just so we can address, help the community out.
Charles had mentioned about sharing stuff in the meeting last night. He he said he's all for it,
but of course use common sense as far as like anything new and dates and and such.
Just wanted to get that get a clarity on that. Should we still ask people not to share recordings?
It's a. It depends on what the recording is of. What I would do is not share the full recording
because likely there's something in there that is sensitive information that's just for this group,
right? Yes. I also wanted to say that rather, rather do whatever you want to post about
it is rather post it as. Like a worded post and not the actual recordings or so. Yeah,
you guys just to cover yourself as well, so you guys get privileged certain information. So
if it's already been mentioned publicly by midnight or by Charles or by somebody that
you know within the foundation, then it's probably fine to share. If it's the first time
you've heard about it and it's a kind of almost a under NDA piece, like we're going to release
this project in three months' time, then maybe that's something that
we shouldn't we shouldn't talk about publicly. If you're ever unsure, you can always ping me.
And also, as well, it's a bit of it's it's the information that we get from Charles is an incentive
for our Nightforce recruits, right, and and alphas to to be able to to get excited to jump into
that call. So we don't want to be leaking all all the alpha. And plus the the recordings that I do
or Maestro does that are in the chats should remain there only. Not even parts of them should be cut
and and and posted. But but yeah, otherwise, absolutely, he said. Tell the world,
except for the dates and pre-release products. Yeah, thanks for the. Yes,
I think we we should maybe just reiterate that on on the Bravo channel as well.
Just just as a reminder that certain things should not be shared. All right, Jack. Thanks, please.
We'll see you on on the Nightforce call. I guess maybe. Maybe I'm going to try. See you soon.
Righto, bro. See ya. Take care, Jack. Thank you. Bye. Wow, the man himself.
We got the big hitters here today. Yeah. The the space was sanctified. Yeah, I am. That's right.
I don't know what else to talk about now. I'm sort of starstruck. I got something
I wanted to ask Omega. Do you mind thinking? Maybe we can do a space on Discord and at some point
and have have the Discord team. Matter of fact, Alex brought up something the other day. Yesterday,
actually, you know, when we had that big kick influx of new recruits coming in,
and we were all running around, yeah, yeah. I think it would be great if we could have one
of these spaces and use it to educate our our recruits as well as alphas and and and bravos alike.
Let's do it. I'll talk for hours, mate. Yeah. Well. So, do you think it it should be on
the recruits level or general recruitable for like everybody? Yeah, I think
everybody would benefit from it. And then, of course, Jinx, we haven't been able to pull you in yet,
but actually, we got a spot saved for you on Team Dix. Yeah, I hate that.
I I I can't stand that that. Will I be Will I be at the front or the back of the? Don't worry,
Jinky. I'm a dick. I'm a dick too, mate. That's right. Where Where Where you want to be at?
I I need to I need to go sit and contemplate on on that answer. But man, I I gotta be honest.
We never section of of that. I never intended that to be public. We were. It was an inside joke.
And I don't. I really. I every time I hear it, I I cringe and hang my head down low.
But it is what it is. If if you look at some some of the meme coins out in the wild, the thing is,
people sometimes can be a little bit too sensitive, in my opinion. Right. But it is what it is.
That just you know what it is, right? What what you know, being a moderator, you're one of us now.
We get called names sometimes. That you know, matter of fact. I won't even get into it, but yeah,
we. So in order to disarm them, I basically took the word that I was called
and made it into something positive. So it was an inside joke. It was never meant to be dirty,
but at the same time, I guess it caused a little earthquake in the community.
I'm really sad about that because it it we were going to announce quite a few things that day
that were really positive, like the question of the day we got going on
and and some game stuff we're doing to help promote. Engagement and such, but anyway, yeah.
So it got overshadowed with the Daggum name, but I think it's taken off now.
I think people are being really cool with us now. Here's a food for thought, Tom.
I was talking to a leader the other day about, you know, how we can make us better in all senses,
and and and you were talking about basically onboarding. I think we we have to
kind of try to help people. Out during their journey, you know, and it's not the same thing that
you want to know and and get when you are a recruit, that when you are, you know, in in alpha
or in Bravo or even a leader. So I think these onboarding staff should be kind of focused on levels
or stages or or steps or whatever we call it, and and and have the proper and focused, you know,
onboarding sessions and resources and help in each level because it is true.
This leader was telling me that it is. As the community is very in early stages,
and we are figuring out how we are doing things as we progress, and we are getting more
and more people, we need to understand that the what we know because we were here before.
Is not the same thing that people get or know when when they are jumping in,
and and the the skills that you need as a leader is not the same thing that you need
when when you are you know lurking around. So I think based on what you said,
it will be great if we can have like in Discord specific sessions for for for each level
that that can help the people that are interested or are participating in each level to
to get the most out of it. Yes, sir. I I agree. As a matter of fact, you know that tool
that you helped me put together and put it on GitHub. That that's been improved,
and I think Phelps is going to run a class for Alphas and above, or maybe it's Bravos.
We haven't discussed it. Some of our team is right here, like Omega and Jenkins. Here,
we're kind of getting together and and and working out the the specifics on it. But yeah,
you're right. That's exactly what we want to do, and we want to do it with the new Charlie program,
right? So we can do it on Discord and and little batches. But for like you said.
Specific groups alpha, because we have to worry about NDA stuff, right? So yeah, you're 100% right.
Yeah, that's the goal. So yeah, I think we're all on board, on the same page with you. Yes,
the the individual the individual spaces for specific levels. Um, that's that's fine. Um,
I think the the one, in my opinion, that is the most important one is the general one,
where it's basically we we don't go into stuff that is um on a need to know basis,
but We we discuss everything around midnight, around what midnight can bring to other blockchains.
We can pull in certain experts from different blockchains that are part of the Brava level
or leaders or something to that extent to to to give some some insights as well,
and then have the the public chat basically and post questions and so on,
and basically do like a live AMA style discussions. Yeah, absolutely. And you know what else?
Like on on personal levels, I you know sometimes you you're in chat, you might be in general
or you might be in alpha, and you see somebody and they have this great idea
and nobody responds to them, and it's just crickets. That could be disheartening sometimes. So I'm,
we, what we're really trying to do is educate our team, basically, to get with the rest
of the alphas and say, hey, when you see somebody doing, posting something,
they might just need a little bit of encouragement. Man, give them that.
It doesn't cost you anything to give a little bit of encouragement, and you might just start a fire
underneath them, making them doing something really spectacular, really great, right?
Matter of fact, Alex did that for me when he helped me with GitHub and getting my my little program
on out there for the mod tool. And I appreciate you, Alex. Honestly, 100%.
I know you took time out of your day to do that for me. But yeah, just those little things, man.
Giving people, giving little bursts of compliments or holding their hand just a little bit,
they'll take off. I always put a little um a a little message out in all the um uh channels,
you know, if anyone wants to jump up and talk on on the space, come up and talk, you know. It, I try
and I try and do that so that you know, um, it gets it gives people a chance to, you know, come up
and talk and you know, uh, ask a question that they you know they're stumped on. You know,
sometimes people do that. Sometimes it's a lot easier for them to just say it instead of writing it.
You know. And talking about onboarding, I was talking the other day
with the the other elite fellows, and there are no Aussies in the elites, so we want that to happen.
That's right. Like it's it's hard to find. Yeah, it's just hard to find people that are interested
in you know building and stuff. You know, everyone's working and you know living life.
It's hard to find people. Well, but I bet there are many very very good talented.
Technical people in in Australia that wants to to join this elite fellowship. So
if anyone is interested out there, reach out. I mean, this is open. It's a great program.
Very technical. Very you know, focus on on how we build amazing stuff and we lower the barrier
for other developers to to join in. But it's very very fun. So I totally recommend
and encourage anyone that that is technical to to reach out. Yeah, a hundred percent.
And you're gonna learn so much. You're gonna, you're gonna build on things and become, you know,
something great within the ecosystem. So I think, I think that's a, a positive note to finish on.
Um, you know, the future of DeFi is going to be absolutely amazing. We can, I can just see it.
And you know, just seeing all the, all the DApps and all the applications that are,
that are getting built right now, you can see where we're going. We're trending in
the right direction. So that's another thing, Omega. We're we're sitting pretty,
and as part of the mod team and the Charlie team, to have classes on DeFi. Maybe I mean
once we now we got. I guess there's going to be a fine line about making sure we tell people
this is not investment advice. It's just showing people how to do it, right? But I think yeah, yeah.
That all these other things, all these opportunities, we can have little classes basically
in Discord now to teach people that don't know that want to know. And I'm one of those people. Well,
we're in a we're in a very special circumstance where we can learn the technology, right? You can go
and learn how to invest and trade and stuff anywhere. Like, there's so much information out there.
But what I want to do, and what we all want to do, is teach everyone and teach everyone
about our technology, right? So. I think I think the Discord spaces are a great idea, and Tom,
if you want me to, I can I can hundred percent do a a Discord space any time after tomorrow,
I guess. Yeah, I just got to put the car in for service and a few things I got to do tomorrow. Oh,
tomorrow night I'm going. Actually, I can't do anything tomorrow night because I'm I'm going to
a rodeo with with the family. So just real quick, Alex had his hand up, I think, but I think Spy
and Dips already took tomorrow. They got a space tomorrow, so I mean, of course,
you can always have one at any other time. We just, as you know, we're trying to keep them apart,
where they have the different time zones to be able to take advantage of them, right? Yeah. Oh,
that's right. Yeah, we were talking about it. Yeah. No, it's okay. And they they did it like right
when mine ends. I was very grateful, so I'm gonna hop in right after mine. Awesome. Awesome. Yeah,
yeah, Jake Coco. If you ever wanted to to do that, we advertise that now in in Discord.
Did you know that? Like, if you have a space that you want to do, just bring it to one of the teams.
Well, you're part of the Discord team anyway. I mean, but we haven't actually had a meeting
with the Discord team, and I meant to do. We're going to do that soon.
We're just trying to let the dust settle. But yeah, yeah, we we're we're advertising that now.
Appreciate that so much. I I I've been hesitant too, but um I love it and it it helps me a lot
to figure out where the spaces are. Yeah, thank you. We thank you. You're a big help, man.
We appreciate you. Yeah, you're always um a warm heart in the um in the channels.
Always friendly to everyone. Do we have a uh night force meeting tonight? We do. I think we do. Yes,
I believe we do. So. Well, we. Let's be quick. You got one in 15 minutes,
and then there's another one. Yeah. Uh, 15 minutes. The only one I have is like 40,
43 minutes from now. Yeah, mine's 40. The Nightforce Q&A. That's the one. Yeah. Hey guys,
I just want to say thank you, thank you all for joining and having a chat,
and again another Friday down. Yes, yes. Thank you very much. It's always always fun,
and it's nice to have a almost like a a more relaxed. Let's see how the conversation go as well.
Discussion sometime. Yeah, yeah. Instead of being so scheduled, I'm just.
If if anybody is interested in in more Cortana related things, we will have a space.
About eleven hours from now, so tomorrow morning my time, US evening time. So
if you want to come chat about Gardana specific things as well, yeah, that'd be cool. Like yeah,
yeah, hell yeah. I was hoping Spy would jump in, but it's like early morning for her.
She's always a a bright light to a space. Yeah, but um, she's a character. Yeah,
I just thought I might as well highlight Cobra. Thank you for staying this whole space listening.
We appreciate you, and I hope you make sure that you talk to Spy. I think you definitely deserve
a place in the Build Build Club. If not, you if if you haven't already. Yeah, sing out to us. Yes,
the Build Club is very very cool. If even if you just have like a concept idea,
there's a lot of things that that the club will help guide you on and resources available to you
and so on. So I would highly recommend it. I'm personally very behind on my homework because of
the last two weeks of exams and stuff like that.
But I need to I need to get crunching on on catching up. You're not alone. One thing I want to
Okay. So one thing I want to highlight, Spy is putting together a book club,
and she's doing the first session next next Tuesday. So I think it will be an awesome thing
to learn more about the technology and this book about about it that George made, which is called
Proving Nothing, and it's five sessions I think book club. She will be leading that in next,
so I definitely recommend anybody that is interested in learning more to attend that.
It's here next, and you can follow us by on the announcement and stuff. Yeah,
I see that it's come up on my page here. So she'll be decoding proving nothing. Yep. That's right,
and we're going to put that in the events thing too as well. I think if you're talking about
the space we're having for the book club. Yeah. Yeah. I think that's what she was asking about
in chat the other day. Yeah, it's cool. So, oh, yep, six session including intro session,
sixty minutes each. I think it's really cool how the community is pulling together
and making this a very active, engaging community. I love it. It's just fun, just you know,
everyone's got something, you know, some some little project that they're doing. I think it's cool.
But I um, I think we we've had a good talk tonight, and um. I think we covered mainly everything,
but to go out with a last last saying, the future of DeFi is for midnight is looking amazing,
and everything that's getting built is yeah, it's all coming together.
So I'm excited for the future. So anyway, guys, thank you for jumping in and having a chat,
and I guess I'll see you guys in the meeting on Discord. Alright guys. Yes.
See everybody a bit later. I think. Take care y'all. Sing us out. Cobra, you gonna sing us out?
Sing the midnight national anthem for us. Yeah. Oh, he's coming out. We have to make one.
Thank you very much. Let's make one. Yeah. Yeah. That's your assignment, Cobra. You gotta make a.
Like I said, if if anybody wants to jump in on the Cordano chats tomorrow morning,
just check my my profile for for the times and everything.
Got you then. Thank you very much. Goodbye everybody. Right, old sis.
