stabbing into it, flipping those over face down on the scanner closing the scanner hitting scan it takes about 10 minutes to scan at 2400 dpi maybe
it's a little bit less but generally it's from anywhere from like five to ten minutes right scans that entire uh glass and then i take that file i open it up uh in photoshop and procreate
because i've been jumping between the two and then i digitally for a second time cut it out again
um hold on i'm just reading your text uh i'll do that right now but uh yeah that the the first watch you sent would be
fucking insane but it sucks that it would cover up all of the the original dial but i mean still
be crazy but um they get the original dial right yeah yeah um yeah uh but yeah to answer your Yeah, yeah. Yeah.

so I'm physically cutting these pieces out,
and then I'm putting them on the scanner, scanning them, and then digitally cutting them out again,
and putting them together digitally.

so um i'm cutting out the noses there's the nose trade there's the mouth trade there's the base
and that's like essentially i i did add a background i i personally would rather just have white as the background, but again, this is a very layered project.

vision vintage currencies is the vision based you mentioned vision, are you talking about like the vision of the art or the vision behind motion?
But like, you know, every artist has a reason why.
What made you want to, you know, get all this, all the different currencies and create this art?
Like what inspired you to do this?
I've been using currency as art for for years um
this isn't just something i was decided to do now um but this i i made a i made some watch i made a
dial for my own watch and i've had the pfp that i oh i guess it's not i'm not on my account right now i had my pfp for
quite a while and anytime i'd be on stages i realized oh this pops and people would mention
it pops more than any other any other pfp in the audience on stage in the audience um Um, and, uh, I made a, a, a watch dial for myself and I put it in a, a watch just to
see how it actually looked.
It's something that I had an idea of for probably like four or five years.
And I hit, uh, bookstuff and I showed it to him and he, uh, he felt the same, same way I did i did sorry i'm looking for this bill um he felt
like the art was fire and it would be great and um yeah i don't know i i just
uh so let me just stop um yeah i just i thought this would be a great pfp it's
going to stand out more than anything else um
it's it's going to start off with the solid community behind it it's giving
everyone their own thing from the start instead of
yeah i don't even know where i'm going with this books jump in here
why do you why do you like the idea of this being the pfp what you mean by that elaborate on the
question like excuse me i just really want to know like what inspired like this art collection
you know when it comes down to like this, this is, like I said, unique.
So, like, when you're implementing all currencies and, you know, a lot of different layers, this is, like, hand created, you know.
So, like, what inspired this collection?
What inspired it?
I mean, it's, like, if you look at this PFP, it's me.
I mean, shit, ever since I've been on this app,
I've been posting money, talking about money,
helping people make money.
It's just everything about money is me.
And then if you've ever seen a lot of my posts, my house,
it's like this style art everywhere, all over the place.
It shits my life.
Like this style is my life.
The clothes I have with this type of art on it that I wear
everything everything about it I would say that money itself is relatable so like
you know with artists I just feel like it's always something that triggers an artist to
to create right and this is obviously something that's taken time, is very well thought out and put together.
So I know it's a lot of inspiration behind it.
So what was the triggers?
And as you were explaining, so that's pretty much the question that I have that I wanted you guys to share with me and everyone else here.
Because I feel like it's important to know what inspired the artist itself.
Oh, you asked me what inspired me to start using currency as a medium?
Yeah. Like, like what inspired you to say, okay,
I'm going to just start collecting all this currency, cutting up, you know,
I'm a trust fund kid and my family's multi-billionaires.
So I just decided i had we have a couple rooms
at my house that are just stacked full of money from all around the world
and i just decided to start cutting it up one day
no i'm joking no i'm playing around so uh So I was hanging out in my homie's tattoo shop.
And his apprentice was doing these charcoal drawings on dollar bills.
And I was like, oh, that's fire.
That's really dope.
And it might sound corny.
It's like counterculture, right?
It's edgy.
You're drawing on something you're not supposed to do.
Your face.
And so I said, you know what?
I'm going to do some characters that I do.
And I'm'm gonna put them
on dollar bills and uh so i had i had done a couple where i did had done these watercolors on the
the the dollar bills and i did a 20 and i sold that 20 bill for like 100 bucks at the time and
this was when i was very first starting my art career transitioning from uh a blue collar worker and a photographer
into deciding i want to like focus on doing art um so i uh i i had done those two those two sales
i sold a dollar and then i sold the 20 dollars right and uh so i had laid out a bunch of one
dollar bills one night.
And I was about to start painting all of these at once.
Because when you use watercolors, you want to work on multiple things at once.
Because it takes a while for each layer to dry.
And when I was sitting there looking at them, I realized, oh, I could cut the eyeballs out of $1 bill,
glue it on another one, and then give it that four-eyed like very abstract uh trippy
art look right and i got i cut it out glued it on and i was just about to start painting
like a helmet and some like body armor stuff in this other style that i was creating in back then
and uh i realized oh i could cut other pieces out of the currency i could
cut the filigree i could cut the all-seeing eye i could cut the wings out and i could put that
on this piece in and just make a piece straight out of money and so i made i'll post it to the
top actually i made my very first currency collage and it's this piece here and it uh so I'm gonna say this
also like I don't always say this but I'll say it so this this style was also born out of me not
being able to at the time to afford um art supplies right so a, a couple hundred dollars, paints, a few hundred dollars, brushes, however
much you're going to spend on brushes. It all starts adding up. So when you see fine art and
it's like, that piece is 10 grand, they probably put like $1,000 into just materials, right?
So this was kind of birthed out of me at the time being broke deciding i'm
gonna go from uh being a blue collar worker and i wanted to just dive in and figure this shit out
by myself and didn't go to art school didn't have parents with money to buy me shit and fund my lifestyle so kind of was birthed out of that um so this piece right
here i just pinned it to the top that's the very first time i ever made a currency collage um so
this style where we're at now was birthed and evolved from that piece right there. Um, and it's just,
it's evolved over the years. Um, I went from selling, like I said, pieces of art for,
I sold the $1 bill for $20 and now I'm selling $150,000 pieces. Um, I had commissions for a
quarter million dollars. Um, I have my art all around the world
hanging all around the world crazy collections uh it's been on good morning america i've designed
stages for outside lands in san francisco with 250 000 people have gone over the weekend and
seen my art on these stages 45 foot by 65 foot stage i have my art on products all around the world that have been
printed out millions of times at this point in the cannabis industry in clothing industry
I've been in juxtaposed magazine high fructose magazine had eight page interviews in these
magazines I've had like multiple things go viral on the internet uh
i created first in the cannabis industry with the first ever animated bag i was the first person
ever print on the inside of a bag i got a high times cover the first animated high times cover
um i've got man i don't know i could just keep going i got like a lot of shit i've had
things on the front page of architectural digest with pieces i've made on the front
page stories of architectural digest um i don't know i've just been doing this for now 11 years
and i created a style and it's pretty hard to create a new style but that's why i strive to
do the first in different things like whatever i'm passionate about i want to try and find how
i can be the first to do something in that thing that i'm passionate about and that's why i said
this is the first of its kind so books and i are doing the first of of the of of a kind in the nft
space no one else has ever done this no one else could
actually recreate this so that's a good thing um this style that i created in currency collage i'm
not saying i'm the first person to use currency as a medium but i'm for sure the first person to
ever do this style that i do um and it's not necessarily this style but all of my other works the two biggest people
two two biggest guys in like the OGs of currency collage that have been doing this for now like
25 almost 30 years both have told me they were roommates actually both have told me
in college they were roommates both told me separately that i created a style that they've
never seen i've done all the research in the world tried to find someone that did the style
that i created in um and before i did it no one did it now there's copycats but it it doesn't
look as good people tried to copy it over the years and they just can't execute at the same level and it just looks nothing like what i'm able to create so um yeah i don't know i could keep going but like
essentially that's it so taking this to the blockchain um just made sense uh there's oh
well here's one more thing um i have a book here. It's called Digital Cash, and it's by a New York University, an NYU professor wrote a book about cryptocurrency, I think, like in 2016.
And every morning when he was, he would have his coffee, he would open up my Instagram account, and he would look at my Instagram account to get inspired to write this book about
cryptocurrency and where it came from and
so he had hit me up and he asked if
He could use a specific piece of my art for the cover and I said yeah
He paid a fee to use it. It's a book that's printed by Princeton Publishing.
