of your time like i'm in a sense like a self-proprietor for all four of them so it's like i do what i gotta do and then i get out
kind of thing so um it feels good to be to be busy and like i'm gonna i'm in a good place right now
i have nights off i i work like monday to saturday so i have sundays off i have nights off
so i'm in i'm in a good place right now man trying to when i get home i play my guitar i try to
keep writing songs or whatever i wrote a new one a couple days ago feels good i think i'm getting
into the swing of like my style of how how to write songs that are like you know that i like

being a little selective because it's kind of early on you know it's early on in the phase so
right now we have like 21 22 producers on there and um they're all all of them are super talented
but my main focus is now to get eyes on all of their work and you know make sure they get sales
and just keep driving traffic into the website and optimizing
it and making it a better place for shoppers and, and that jazz. So I've got like a lot of
big updates actually coming. I think I just muted everyone on accident. Good thing I can't mute

there are people out there who wish they were as busy as you you know what i mean like busy busy's good obviously there's stress uh associated with it but like it's better to be busy than bored

that is the absolute truth i think i since i started wave root i mean it was like eight
months in development eight nine months in development before it actually launched
and i think when when i started working on it from the beginning, I think I just like
totally cut out unconsciously, but like consciously cut out like television fully.
So now like I haven't watched a goddamn TV show in like a year and a half, I don't know
any new TV shows or nothing.
And I'm like, I feel like that helped me become more productive.
And I'm learning that like, it's not about these hacks and like making yourself motivated and all
this shit. It's, it's mastering the sculptures chisel. So like getting rid of all the extra
noise and all the extra things that distract me. Like, yeah, I do post content, but I've been
scrolling a lot less. You know what I'm saying? I, I'm always catching myself. I still scroll a
little bit. I'm always catching myself. You know, I cut out the TV fully. Um, I haven't hung out with my like childhood friends
and I used to get together with them on weekends every, at least once a month. I just kind of
stopped doing that because like we're in different places in life, you know? So that's really what
I'm trying to work on is cutting out all the extra stuff that distracts me from the focus.
And it's hard.

He has all day long to focus and relax and recharge.
And that's the right way to do it. When we're out here in the States and we're working, paying bills,
we have families and careers, we can't just do that. So finding that balance is super important and being able
to master all the other things that all the stuff that kind of just wastes and just holds us back
from being a better version of ourself. And I didn't mean to open up this space as a motivational
thing. We usually just play music and vibe out. But shit, man, if that's where the conversation goes,

for out thou um they are they're in the room they've uh them along with smarts and porky
have kind of uh got me fucking around with the uh with suno and i kind of dove down the ai rabbit
hole right and um and originally i was you know i was very um i'm not gonna say skeptical i would
say i was very kind of like meh about it um and then i was talking with smarts shop. My guy smarts. He, um, he was like, yo, you can
actually like load your beats into Suno and let it like, you know, kind of make songs around that.
So, um, so I started doing that and then I kind of started playing with the amount, um, of
what do you call it? I guess the amount of inspiration that the AI gathers from your music
and kind of like started dialing down back a little bit. Cause when I first, like the first
couple of ones that I did was like a hundred percent, you know, just so it would be like my
beat. And then I kind of like throttled it back to like 80 and 75 just to see like what the ai does
with the with the um with my production and uh i put i i fucking i whipped up like nine songs
like like well a few more than nine songs it was more like closer to like 15 and then i kind of
like dialed it down to like nine and whipped up a little fucking album.
So I got a I got an album and I do and I uploaded it to DSPs because, you know, like generally I don't put music out on DSPs.
But but I just uploaded it yesterday.
So in a couple of days, this thing should be hitting like fucking Spotify and Apple Music and shit like that. So, um, I'm really interested in kind of like
seeing how, um, how to go about marketing music that isn't necessarily, um, organic or, or, or
pubing, you know what I'm saying? In a sense. So, uh, I've kind of been like exploring different
ways to, uh, market that body of work and seeing how that how that would play out.

And I never found anyone that kind of was able to, I guess, get into that pocket with
i guess get into that pocket with me you know what i'm saying like i just whether you know just

because i wasn't able to find someone with that you know um with that sound or that could you
know kind of like deliver that um so i kind of started around with that and it's funny because
my wife was actually kind of like the um not the inspiration but just kind of like she heard it
she was like dude this is sick she was like and i can hear the elements of your beat in this so the the weird thing about suno is that it
keeps the elements but it just changes like some of the instruments um you know the drum patterns
are the same but it'll kind of just like change the um the drum sounds so you know some of them
are like boom bap patterns but it'll kind of of play them with modern drums so it doesn't sound as boom-bappy.
It'll take a piano sound or a synth sound and turn it into a guitar sound or shit like that.
So it's really interesting to see how it really changed up a lot of the sounds while keeping the compositions the same.
The sounds while keeping the composition is the same, you know what i'm saying?

writing. Right. So it's kind of like a combination of my own ideas, my own inspirations and thoughts and subject matter.
And then from there, I'm letting Suno just do like the production work and putting the voices together.
And you just put to get the elements together for it. Yeah.
Yeah. So but yeah, that's that's, you know, that's the first track.
That's the opening track for the album.
And it's just like a female vocals with beats that are produced by me, ran through Suno
and kind of just, you know, fucking just experimented, man.
Like, honestly, that's really kind of like the mode I'm on.
I've been using Suno to like chop samples and and make synths and stuff like that, but never really
thought about loading my beats and using that as the catalyst to make songs.
So it's really interesting to see how it came together.

Because now I'm kind of like, all right, well, I can go back to...
Because I still have the MIDI files for a lot of these songs.
So I could always just go back and change the aesthetic to those beats to kind of create and capture that um that same vibe that uh that
Suno was able to do you know on my own but um yeah it's it's crazy bro it's been it's it's been a
weird couple of days I think I started this on Monday and I have this thing where when I kind
of like dive down the rabbit hole I get like a bit of tunnel vision and then don't see or do anything else so it was like i started this shit monday night and then
thursday night i'm like loading this shit to dsps and waiting for it to like come out so it's it was
like really not and not rushed either like that's the funny thing it's like even though it was like
a couple of days it was like that's all i did for it happened fast but it wasn't rushed it was just
all like yeah locked in that's all i did from sunday to from uh from monday to thursday like
literally it was just like locked in like that's amazing concepts and and kind of running these
beats through there even like yo even like like even like, like the compositions, right? Like, um, like, uh, remember I told you I was, um, I'm putting together like a sound kit
for wave root and, and part of me, part of it was, um, even loading some of those, um,
those compositions through wave from, from the ones for the site, I was running some of those
compositions through, uh, through suno and like
some of the the beats that i was getting from that you know just playing around with it and
seeing what it would do i was just like damn this is crazy like it's it's really yeah it did um
version five is like really intuitive man like they i don't know what the that shit but it's
it's crazy yeah and i was gonna mention that too you know with platforms
like suno you can always go to wave root and you could purchase like one's got a couple of sound
kits already on there and you could purchase a sound kit from you know crypto beat radio one
there's a bunch of producers that are uploading sound kits and you can just like put a piano
melody or like a synth melody and like a bass into Suno and that shit will
go to work for you, you know what I'm saying?
So the technology is amazing.
And having the touch of an artist
that you know and
like and want to support and
you want to have a piece of their sound and your music
I think that's a really good idea.

matching the the styles of the tracks so you're not hitting in different patterns you know where
you're counting like eight bars of four and dropping it on six and and shit like that so

wanted anyone to use a fucking computer for anything.

the people that created and came before and pioneered this shit right but again like if you don't embrace this shit you know like
you're kind of gonna get overshadowed by it and you know i had a lot of mixed feelings with
here's my shit with suno right and this is this is really like just to land my plane um there's no there's no safeguards for being able to upload um how do i explain uh
copyrighted music you know what i'm saying like it like terms and conditions says oh you know you
have to own you have to own the rights of the music in order to upload it and let the ai manipulate
it but like i could just fucking do it anyway. You know what I'm saying?
There's nothing up there that's actually protecting copyrighted music.
And I think that's where a lot of people are having an issue with.
When Timbaland did the demo and he was like, oh look, this is baby Timbo, talking about
Suno, and he used another producer's beat and another rapper's lyrics to put that shit and demo
Suno.
I think that set back the movement of what he was trying to do because he himself violated
Suno's terms and conditions by using other people's music.
You know what I'm saying?
And that's where
it's it's it muddies the water bro it makes it real murky did you say timberland yeah is that
what you were saying yeah timbo i remember that commercial i didn't even catch that didn't say
something but didn't he say something about he was the first person to that is signing ai artist
i heard something like that and i was like well yeah well he's not this person
but he is signing an ai artist and he is on the uh he is working with suno so i think he's one of
the creative directors for one of the for uh one of the versions and he's working directly with suno
he's he's fucking co-signing them he's promoting them he's doing videos showing people how he's producing with
suno so you know kind of like with what i just did with this this song that i played earlier
where he's running his beats his sounds his loops through suno letting suno do a lot of the the
the heavy lifting um you know so so he's a big advocate for, for Suno and AI music.
Um, but again, the, the, the part that kind of like murks the water is like when you're,
when you're using, you know, a fucking beat that a producer, you know, from that, that,
that put his beat on Instagram that got like, you know, 10,000 followers, you, you, you
used his beat instead of using your own. You know what
I'm saying? That like a girl who did a freestyle over that beat and did a stitch on TikTok,
you know what I'm saying? Like you're using her lyrics, you know what I'm saying? And in their
defense, it's like, well, you know, this music was posted on the open internet, you know,
there's public domain, but at the same time, it's like-
Yeah. What if there's no licensing? What if somebody has like a whole bunch of free, uh, loops and beats and samples,
and it just happens to be that like one of them is really hot. So now you have thousands of people
using that importing the same exact beat to make stuff. Sure. It comes out a lot differently,
you know, depending on tempo and other things that you might add, but yeah, but that might
murky the water too. If everybody's using this, it's I mean, I agree. I felt the same way about Splice, right? I feel like
everybody that uses Splice has access to the same sound libraries. And that's why if you're using
Splice, you got to go a step further and change the keys, change the tempos, chop it up. You got
to do a little more with it than if you just fucking played a sample yourself or, you know that no one's going to have that version of
you know the the loop that you've manipulated you know in a sense so it might be the same melody but
it's not going to be with the same sound they won't have the same um manipulation and and and
coloring so it's you know and again this is the difference between using the tool and letting the tool do the heavy lifting.
I'd rather run samples through Suno, but I thought it was really cool to experiment and create a fucking dark-ass R&B album.

And use my beats as the catalyst and write the lyrics and play around with it where it's not just you know this
is kind of me stepping out of my element but it's still my which is really
weird to say that you know what i'm saying like so so one thing i noticed that um so i have i have um
a few producers that applied on wave root they're making they're using ai to make beats right and one of them i had a conversation
with him he said well as long as i'm paying the subscription i i can use the music so i'm like
on one end i want to i want to welcome him onto the platform right but on the other end it's like
well what if he stops playing the subscription then are we going to run into legal problems is
he is he still allowed to use those samples so i wasn't sure how that worked so i'm like i'm running into the same thing where i got
to do a little more digging too i just been a little busy with other stuff you know i'm like
trying to fry like a little bit i'm not saying i'm trying to fry bigger fish but like i definitely
want to get these guys on the platform but um it's we got to figure that out you know like like and and so like it's happened where
i'll have a sample from fucking um from splice and if you should exam them shits they're already
they're registered with other artists that already use those samples you know what i'm saying so it's
like so the next step is how do you how do you kind of like separate what you're doing from what other people are doing without, um, without sounding just like them or without your shit getting flagged as someone else's song, because you guys have the same sound in your fucking beats, you know? And that was a big thing amongst the producer community before AI.
It was like, oh, everybody's using splice.
Everybody's using splice loops.
And that's why, again, if I do use splice loops, I got to change them up and manipulate them a lot.
But then sometimes I hear a loop and I like it just the way it is.
So it's a tough game to play.
And that's why if you can play shit on top of it and really build it out where it's gonna sound different
you know you can do that but it's it's it's there's a lot of gray areas to this shit man
and again you know and all through the end of the eye through the eyes of the end user
a lot of people just don't fucking care as long as it's hot yeah ain't that the truth i just said that that's the exact truth as long as it's hot
like whatever it's like you won't even know whatever came out whatever came out that comes
out of the radio you don't know what went into putting it together you know millie vanille you
know what i'm saying prime example you know what i'm saying whatever but if something's hot
if something's hotter people even going to question it,
they might not, it might not even realize, uh, they expect of it all.
It's just whatever.

The conversation always open, always comes up at some point, you know, whether,

I think the biggest thing with the AI artists is that when they look at somebody like Timbaland,
they're like, you have the opportunity to change someone's life and you can actually
work with artists that can take your production to the next level right so it's like why sign an ai artist
but for someone like me who can't work with anyone you know what i'm saying it's like why the fuck
not why not make a fucking r&b album with a fucking ai chick that you know like and levels the playing
field right it makes it easier to enter the industry. If you're really
into music and, you know, you might have really awesome skills, like, you know, period making
beats and, and everything, but just can't get with the right people to, to do it. But, you know,
if you have the tools that they have, but it's just, you know, just a different version of them,
it levels the playing field a bit, I think. It does. And it's not necessarily about entering
the industry at this point, right? Because that's not
my interest at all. I think
for me, it's more about
finding a way to
create the kind of music that I
didn't have the opportunity to create
before based on
network.
You know what I'm saying? So to me,
it's like that's really what it's more about.
It's more about, you know, stepping out outside of a kind of box that I've worked in because
I only worked with independent hip hop artists.

And I still make beats that aren't necessarily catered to that demographic.
And it's like, you know, I do have that range of production where I could do something else.
But just not having access to those artists kind of has it where I got a fuck ton of like modern R&B beats and trap soul beats without any.
