And the thing is, I say that we are definitely the first podcast network in Spanish,
but I'm looking for anyone who was a podcast network before us.
And I think we are the first one in the world, actually, in 2005.
So maybe share with us how actually podcast evolved since 2005.
Like, what has changed?
Well, absolutely nothing.
The only thing that changed is when Spotify entered the room with podcasts.
Because before, it was really difficult to tell people how to look for a podcast. I mean, no one knew that on iPhones, like, you know, from the, I think, iPhone 8 or iPhone 9,
or iPhone 9, the iOS already had the podcast app native on iOS, but no one used it.
And then in 2014, there was this podcast called Serial in the States.
And Serial became the most popular podcast at that time. It was a spinoff of This
American Life, which is one of the best podcasts around. And it's been since the year 2000, 2001.
This is a legend called Ira Glass who started that. But before it was really difficult to find it. And then when serial started, you know, and it was a true crime and they made a documentary on uh stephen colbert she was on a spoof of uh of
saturday night live we as an industry started seeing that it was bigger than we ever thought
it was you know and uh it took us by surprise every time they asked me oh but you know podcasts
are are this it's a rebirth and i said it left. It was always on the rise and on the rise and on the rise.
And the thing is that it was a little difficult to find them.
And then when Spotify came in in 2016 with a podcast,
so many people were able to listen to podcasts on Spotify.
And then entered YouTube.
I mean, YouTube is the number one app in the world for listening to podcasts.
And there's one reason.
The reason is not because you want to see the podcasters.
The reason is because everyone knows how YouTube works and everyone knows, has the app, and
everyone knows how to look for something on youtube even
if they don't see the video or anything like that but it's easier for for for users to find the
podcast on youtube uh or and before it was on on spotify so that's why it became so popular
and it became even more popular during the pandemic because everyone was at home they
had nothing to do and they started a podcast and there's a really good statistics uh in 2020 2021
uh out of uh 90 percent 90 percent of all podcasts started in 2020 only 10 went after episode three because you see it's a little
more difficult to do a podcast and just take a uh you know uh uh your iphone and start recording and
and it it has editing you need like a intro and outro you need the music you need you know to engage with people you have to clean your
your your uh you know all the the your arms and and all that to make it like flu uh fluent you
know and they abandoned it and of the 10 that went after uh episode uh three uh only 1% went after episode 20.
So the guys who really, like you guys,
I mean, it's amazing what you're doing with your space.
424 Tuesdays and Thursdays.
I mean, it's being regular and constant and all that.
That's where you start growing your audience.
Just by doing that.
It's being constant and being all the time and regular and hosting great personalities like AMP and myself, obviously, and everybody in the space.
It's that.
It's absolutely that. And space is great it's it's all audio which i love um which i love and um so you don't have to be in front of
a camera or anything like that and um and uh and and that because actually everything all
when you speak on a podcast you you're speaking to one person.
You're not speaking to an audience.
It's the guy who pressed play or the user who pressed play and is jogging or is in his car or is in public transportation listening to you talking to him.
So that's why podcasts became so popular right now.
And they've been popular since the inception,
but now it's the discoverability that makes it much easier
to really make it worthwhile.

What makes successful podcasts, man?
Like why we have people that made it
and why we have people that didn't?
Well, you know, everyone tells me about Joe Rogan, for instance.
Joe Rogan has been podcasting since 2010, 2011.
I mean, it's not an overnight sensation, you know.
He was a personality and he's got a great personality.
And obviously, he made all his
audience all through these years i mean all through these years and they like even even more
now because the world is so polarized so you see you know both sides with joe rogan so it's being
constant it's being there and growing your audience slowly
with something interesting that you can give to the user. And there's this thing called value for
value, which is podcasting 2.0 and value for value is if the
podcaster gives you value, then I will, as a user, give you value by, you know, subscribing,
getting on your Patreon or, uh, you know, uh, subscribing to your, to your ex or, or subscribing
even to the, to your podcast on Apple podcast or or on spotify and uh and this is it i
mean it's it's giving value to the people who are listening and uh and and being very i mean i'm a
perfectionist and and for me chat shows i don't like chat shows because they're not perfect. You know, you cannot cut them.
It's really difficult to, you know, make the conversation fluent and all that.
So, and sometimes you get, you know, you ramble and you ramble and you ramble on an answer.
You don't answer the question, stuff like that.
answer the questions stuff like that so i much rather uh the approach that we do in digso
is try to make it as a a film i mean my background is filmmaking so i'm a filmmaker so do everything
that has to be done as a film production and and but with no visual and this is what what's what we've been doing with
with dick so over the years we really i think i have the best uh audio producers in the world i
i love them they're really uh they're amazing they work under pressure on my ability i understand work on the pressure. I understand how to edit and how to make something much better.
And that's it.
I mean, you have to be careful to make it.
You have to be very careful with what you put out there.
It's not that you're going to publish
and monetize right away.
I mean, CPMs in the States are much higher
than in the rest of the world.
I mean, the US industry for podcasting
is about $2 billion a year.
And I don't think that all the countries put together
get to $2 billion a year for audio, for ads, I mean, for ads.
Because industry is about $7 billion industry with hosting and all that.
So what I've been doing myself for the past two years
is actually trying to find the next iteration of podcasting.
I think that podcasting, just like you said, I mean, to make it, it's really difficult.
So what I was able to find is that with Web3 and with blockchain,
you are able to even put a layer on top of the layers that you already have,
like all the social media and the advertising and all that,
and use the layer of Web3 to be able to interact directly with your listener.
interact directly with your with your listener so the first stage that we did is that we put
we are a hosting company basically just like simplecast or or megaphone on spotify and we put
the metadata on blockchain in this case on we can do it on any blockchain, but we started, the MVP was with ApeChain, obviously.
We put the metadata on ApeChain.
We put the MP3 on IPFS,
which is a decentralized, you know,
just like torrents.
And then we were able,
we have a proprietary thing
that we are able to extract the RSS feed
from the blockchain
and give it and feed it to Spotify,
YouTube and Apple podcast.
So that way, when you're listening to a podcast
that is hosted on Dixxon chain,
on Dixo on Chain, the user has no idea that it's decentralized.
the user has no idea that it's decentralized.
So you get the best of both worlds.
You get it on your traditional audio platforms,
and you get it also on Web3.
Because if you go on the DAP, on onchain.dixo.com,
and the name of your podcast, you're able to connect your wallet
and you're able to leave a comment or a rating
or share on Twitter or LinkedIn.
And we created this utility token called Dexos
and you are able as a creator to reward your listeners
because listeners are not rewarded right now so you can
reward them with a utility token and that one you can exchange it for something special you know
it's like a loyalty program you know on steroids and this is what i think the next iteration of podcasting should be, I mean, use also obviously the middleman right now, the distribution channels, but create this layer also for creators to be able to monetize on Web3.
And this is what took us to the audio book. I mean, this is what took us to the audiobook i mean this is what took us to the
audiobook um uh so what we're doing with king rat right now i mean to get on on what we're launching
today on exclusive on your uh on your uh show uh what are we doing? Number one, we are uploading an audiobook of an IP that we own.
It's called King Rat. It's in Spanish and in English. It's two different productions. I mean,
it's not AI, you know, AI translated or anything like that. We did two productions in Spanish and

It's 13 episodes for the first season. And we have planned to do six seasons or more for King

And we had to sell the IP to the platform. I mean, it's considered a work for hire.
So they pay for the production, yes, they pay for the production, but they keep all the rights.
So when I found out about that, that's when I started to to think why should i go and try to sell it to
a traditional value platform if it's going to be considered like a work for hire i mean if if i'm
not going to be able to keep the ip myself on dick so it's not worth it so i did we did do the
the the production in spanish but then we said why why would we put it also on Spotify or on Apple Podcasts for free?
You know, it's not fair to the creator at the end.
to be able to get the Web3 community involved in the growth and success of an IP.
And it's an opportunity to have a first row seat of what the journey of an IP is.
And KingRat was for us the IP that we needed to start with.
After this one comes another one.
We have a true crime.
This is a true story about a Mexican guy who was on death row for 20 years in Chicago.
We have all the interviews and all that.
And we want to do the podcast with well yet audiobook podcast

is the perfect perfect perfect use for that and this is why i call it an experiment because if
this is successful then we will open the eyes of many many creators uh to be able to jump on board and start, you know, using their IP, their ideas and their
universe and make it their own. And they decide who they want to share it with. In my case, I want to share with the community who is supporting me.
This is a philosophy, you know, an ethical way to be able to help all creators like myself
and to make a factory of tokenized IPs.

um the story is about is about a rat is the laziest rat in the world his name is r Ralph. He is in Tennessee. And his mother tells him on her deathbed
that he is the heir of the Elvesho kingdom with the treasure of 10,000 cheeses. And Ralph loves cheese,
but he's so lazy to go fetch his own cheese
that he just, you know,
his day is just get milk from the cow
and some drops of milk.
So when he finds out that there's 10,000 cheeses,
then he starts his quest and his journey from Tennessee, from a boring town in Tennessee, all the way to Switzerland to reclaim what he believes is rightfully his.
And in his journey on the first season, I mean, he doesn't even get to the train station yet to get to the train station that will take him to Charleston to take the boat to the boat that will take him all the way to Switzerland. with a royal eagle. So you see what the communist cat called Vladimir,
you know, Cuban, and what his philosophy and ideology is.
And then he meets with this royal eagle,
who is a monarch, and he gets on all sorts of trouble
and all sorts of stories. It's a beautiful and very entertaining and
very funny journey. the voice of Ralph.
Ralph is the lazy, the king rats.
Also, I just want to say very important that this audio book is not a narration.
I mean, it is narrated, but it's not only a narration of a book.
This is on the contrary we
started with the audio book and then we're going to go to the to the book this is a full production
full-blown production with music with actors with narrators with the sound effects and all so it's
really it's really entertaining and this is why i say it's from nine to nine
years old it's because um kids will love it and the parents who are listening with their kids
will have a really good time also listening to this story
