Thank you. What's going on, everybody? Yo, yo, what's going on everybody yo yo what's cracking what's up woke up woke up five minutes ago
it's not woke up five minutes ago fuck i woke up like i don't know six hours ago. Yeah, I get your Europe ass, your European ass.
Checks out. Checks out. What have you been doing the last six hours?
Just fucking dying because I have some, I don't know, cold or I don't know what's going on. I'm dead.
I don't know, cold or I don't know what's going on. I'm dead. I got fever, but not quitting.
You know, we have a lot of things to talk about. Flu game. That's why I haven't stopped.
That's why I haven't quit smoking. Quitting for losers. Hell yeah. Never quit bro. I got,
I got a AJ 12 flu games here on my, on my feet. So I'm ready, man. I'm ready.
We'll go for an hour today.
But yeah, we are here, baby.
Four, five, six down there.
We got Marathon in Miami.
What'd you get into last night?
what we went to after that day.
I can't remember. We actually kind of
Ubered at West Palms and partied out there.
Yup. That's like fucking two hours. Two hours. Two hours from We kind of Ubered at West Palms and partied out there. West Palm? Yep.
That's like fucking two hours. Two hours.
Two hours, two hours from.
Yeah, one of my homies matched with somebody on Tinder.
There are so many women in Miami.
And one of the homies matched
with the woman in West Palm.
Was this, is this the most
beautiful women of all time?
I need more, I need more information
they would lose you, sweetie. Yo, can you hear me? I need more because...
I might have lost me, actually.
We were getting into the point and Marathon's like,
oh, I don't have a signal here.
Oh, my Wi-Fi is kind of slow here.
Yeah, this sounds like an avoidance.
But listen, you're not going anywhere, Marathon.
We're going to get to the bottom of this.
Was it a layup or dunk bro it better have been it better have been the alley-oop of all all youbs yep all right let's go on six um we're going to get into this here, too. We scared him. We should have scared him.
We're going to get the co-host back.
We're going to get the co-host back here.
Welcome to the Thunderdome.
Which is notorious for having many things many
things many things yes all right then your buddy got a tinder match yes was this a was this a new
tinder match or one that had been like no it was a it was a previous it was a previous okay he just
wanted to come and touch base with when he got back out here.
I'll give a little more slack there.
I thought it was like, yo, we're at 11, yo.
We've got all these girls and everything.
Bro, I just got a match with West Palm.
Let's go up in two hours.
Squiddy, I'm out here with Reggie Jackson right now.
Yeah. He knocked out of sleep right now.
Greg is... I don't know. I think Greg just went golfing. Actually, he better not be golfing
Dude, Reggie was a baller.
Oh, yeah. We're going to hang out.
I was going to say, where's my invite?
Bro, no, we're going to hang out. We're getting there.
No, we're pulling up. Like I said, we're going to be out there
It sucks that we might be getting some rain.
I know, right? Hopefully it's just off and
It does not look like a beach day.
is Can you all feel that?
West Palm, bringing the heat.
All right, well, you gotta get to the course, and then we will continue.
I only came for two days of playing, but every time I come, I always wind up saying,
this is the type of town you can spend a few days in miami the city that keeps the roof blazing
bouncing in the club with the heat is on all night on the beach to the break of dawn
hey great welcome to miami marathon all right right. So we're vibing.
We got to, yeah, dude, we'll do something good.
And then tomorrow, if you want to watch me like in the zone,
watching a basketball game,
maybe come over for some beers, watch the game.
I think it should be on TV at a bar.
Huge game for my pops. Watch the game. I think it should be on TV at a bar. Huge game for my pops.
Penn Quakers taking on Harvard in Ivy Madness.
So the Ivy League most recently, I forget how long ago.
Ivy League most recently, I forget how long ago, it was like five years ago.
It was like five years ago.
It used to be just, you know, the winner of the conference goes dancing, but now they
have Ivy Madness for the top four do a little tournament.
And Penn made it for the first time.
Get to see my guy on the bench.
You know, that'll be cool.
So I am locked in at two o'clock tomorrow.
Cheering them, cheering them on. Um, so that'll be, that'll be fun.
That will be fun, but let's go through some standings here. We're going to start with the
East, the Pistons 47 and 18. I'm seeing some claims that they might be frauds now.
I mean, we're not going to be able to tell.
We're not going to be able to get answers until we get to the playoffs.
I still think that they'll be fun.
but yeah, the Pistons are, it's looking like they are going to be wire to wire
in the East at first place, which is pretty impressive feat on its own. Celtics in second,
four and a half games back, lost two in a row. The Knicks third place, six games back, the Cavs
seven and a half back at four. That's the top four.
Again, that has not changed.
And that will not change.
Those are going to be your top four seeds in the East.
From five to nine, you've got a two and a half game difference.
Five to nine, you've got a two and a half game difference.
You've got the Magic surging.
You've got three of these four half game difference. You got the magic surging next.
You've got three of these four teams are absolutely surging right now.
the magic are 10 games back.
Winners of six straight eight and two in their last 10,
the Miami heat winners of seven straight eight and two in their last 10.
The Raptors are falling down a little bit. The Hawks nine and one, their last 10 the raptors are falling down a little bit the hawks nine and one
their last 10 winners of eight in a row kaminga baby kaminga the sixers in ninth place 12 and a
half back and then the charlotte hornets there are two game streak winners of eight of their last 10
uh the most fun team in the NBA right now.
So that's your playoffs, right?
From 10 to 11, there's a six-game difference, and every other team is tanking and toast.
So I should know that the Wizards have lost 10 in a row.
The Pacers have lost 11 in a row.
I bet on one team in the beginning of the season to win over 40 games.
That was the Indianapolis.
That is not going to to cash um yeah so again we already know we've known this for a
month already who the playoff teams are and uh so the standings exercise has become semi-fruatile
but we shall continue anyway anything popping out in the west again you got some teams balling
those teams that are not in the top four again the, the Magic Heat, Hawks, and Hornets are all surging.
They're beating up on bad teams a lot, but still, putting together some winning basketball.
And you've got the floundering Raptors and the injury-depleted Sixers down there, too.
Which one of those teams, the Magic Heat, Raptors, Hawks, Sixers, Hornets,
has the best chance to knock off one of the Pistons Celtics' Knicks Cavs marathon?
Probably the Magic, if anybody.
But, I mean, just because they're the youngest to match with that young energy on the Pistons.
That would be one of the other Dark Horse teams out of East right now.
That Magic Cavs, right now it looks like it would be the Magic Cavs
And, I mean, they think they might be getting Franz back, too, by then.
So, I'm like, if they can go full strength,
that would be a really good matchup for sure.
And then we'll see how James Harden actually plays.
James Harden actually plays.
He actually has a team to back him up now.
He actually has a team to back him up now,
With Jason Tatum officially back,
are the Celtics the favorite in the East?
honestly, the funny thing is,
I don't even think the Pistons
could beat them at full strength right now,
I just don't think, I mean, I like the Pistons.
They're young and everything.
I just don't think it's going to be their year.
I still think they won't win this whole thing.
I love the Pistons, but I don't think they're beating the Celtics.
I don't think they're beating the Cavs.
Just give them, like, another year.
You know what I'm saying?
Like, another – yeah, that's what I'm feeling.
But this happens all the time, right?
Again, these upstart teams, they teams, maybe they'll finish the regular season
in first or second place, but then these veteran-led teams
will teach them a lesson.
You know, same thing happened to the Thunder, right?
Like, you get your welcome-to-the-playoffs moment,
and the Pistons are probably going to get that.
It'll be interesting to see who it comes at the hand of.
I'd be very impressed if they don't, but that's just how it works.
The Warriors got it when they were coming up and surging, right?
Yeah, that's just the name of the game.
You put on a great regular season.
You come first in your conference, first or second in your conference. And then, um, you've got a sleeping giant as a seven seat where
they're just veteran guys who are kind of cruising for the regular season and then turning up
in the playoffs, which, you know, that obviously them getting beat up by the veteran guys is going
to help them a hundred percent. It's a, it's a legitimate lesson. You know, it's going to school.
What's up, six down there?
We're talking NBA basketball.
If you got some NBAba hot takes dropping below
western conference again same shit we've known the playoff teams for a month uh which is kind
of fucked up but it is what it is bro we could record you bro we could record you and i could
yeah i could just repeat this whole thing. It's absurd.
But did you watch Jason Tatum?
Do you think he's mentally 100% ready?
Because I saw him dunking. And when he actually landed, he waited to land on the healthy food.
Mentally, it has to be so tough to really believe in that lack right oh my god so fast too you know
i mean it's not like he wasn't even going a full year so that's why it's like like that's what i
was saying like before is he mentally ready you know i mean like you got to see where his mental
is because obviously you can be physically ready and like feel that you're physically ready but
like if there's just one doubt in your mind in the back of your mind you know that can just hold you back
how do you evaluate that you're ready to play actually man because if this injury
happens again it's probably over right so it's it's really risky that scares the
shit out of me that's one like injury that scares the shit out of every basketball player.
I swear you, they they'd rather have a high ankle sprain, a broken ankle coming down, breaking their wrist off of swinging off the rim, getting undercut before actually tearing the Achilles.
So, yeah, I, you know, it's going to have to take it slow.
But luckily, they've got some games.
I haven't looked at his minutes right now, but I'm pretty sure that they're limiting.
Yeah, they're definitely limiting him right now.
I think he's like right now right under like 26 minutes right now, they said.
Yeah, that's still a lot, too.
It really is, but I mean, it also kind of is like he's got the help, too.
So it's not like he's really playing that, you know, going hard, like on that full 26 minutes, you know what I mean?
The ball, the possessions aren't coming to him like every time coming down,
You might, that's a good thing.
So that is a very good thing.
We got to talk about Bam, bro.
Yeah, we're getting there.
What happened? What happened?
Bam Adebayo scoring 83 points in an NBA game.
Second highest all time behind Wilt Chamberlain.
Kobe fans are in shambles.
There's been a lot of discussion about it.
He went off in the first half and then what they like start like intentionally fouling.
He shot over 40 free throws. So there's a lot of discussion about the merit of this 83 point game.
What are your thoughts here, Grateful? Marathon. I'll let Grateful go. Grateful's sick. I know.
Oh yeah, I forgot. Grateful's fighting the flu. Guys, can you give me one minute? I'll be back in a minute, please.
But, yeah, honestly, dude, I mean, shit, why not go for it, man?
Kobe would have encouraged him to push for that.
So it's like, I mean, they were playing a shitty team.
Kobe played against a shitty team and got his 81.
So, you know, it's not – it's really just for the fandom, man.
Like, you're supposed to see what you can do,
especially if you, like, have 70 points and nine minutes left in the game.
Why the hell not go for 100?
Who cares about what everybody else is saying?
Like, that's the shitty team for not being able to stop y'all.
That really, that's all it really is.
Like, that's them going into the locker room and be like,
you guys got buttfucked by one man tonight.
You know what I mean? So, that's just all. They're embarrassing you right now. Literally. So, that's them going into the locker room and be like, you guys got buttfucked by one man tonight. You know what I mean?
They're embarrassing you right now.
So, that's what I'm saying.
Like, that's on them grown men for letting that man score 70 plus points.
So, yeah, you cannot hate on them for that, bro.
Like, if the shots are going, if they're falling, you got to keep going to the hot hand.
I didn't expect so much hate, right?
I remember when Kobe actually made 81.
I don't remember any hate back in the day,
but maybe that's just like a selective memory, right?
But he got a backslash there.
You know, a lot of people were like,
oh, yeah, of course, that's because of Wizard.
But still, man, like 83...
I think it was less about the Wizards and more about,
okay, he shot 40 foul free throws right i know that's the intentional foul at the end and then getting
the call to get two more free throws right so like there's the argument like oh it's not really
basketball whatever when it comes to leaving him in to score as much as you want i am all for it
straight up i'm all for it i don't care if we're up 50 points, right, against a bad team.
If my guy is rolling and he's got a chance to do something special,
I'm feeding him the ball every single possession.
This is one in a lifetime opportunity to actually made it and why not right why not
yeah the free throws that's kind of crazy because i'm checking the stats like kobe versus uh bam
and kobe shot uh 20 free throws made 18 and bam shot 43 free throws which i think also it's uh
it's a nba record in a in a shot free throws ever, which is crazy.
Imagine Shaq shooting those.
It would be 43-2 probably.
I'm like, I thought James Harden shot a lot of free throws when he was at Houston.
But that's ridiculous, man.
I saw Jason Williams actually talking about it. He was like man, I I didn't I didn't shoot 43 free throws in a whole season
There's been some funny memes of course because the internet is undefeated
Um, they had like I forgot the guy's name like the heat had a center
um Um, they had like I forgot the guy's name like the heat had a center Um, and they were like hit I forget his name, but like he had 80 he had like 80 points the entire season Um, joel anthony. Oh, yeah
Throwback hashtag random athlete of the day super throwback, bro
80 points in a season bam 83 in a night so yeah incredible that's definitely the
highlight that's definitely the highlight of the of the week and that's what people are talking
about because uh definitely ain't the standings in the regular season we're all ready to just
start the playoffs right just uh fast forward to that but um out of principle and out of consistency, we will go through the West.
Again, all the playoff teams are locked in.
You got the Thunder going, uh, wire to wire.
I don't remember the last time that two teams went wire to wire an entire season, but the
Thunder and the Pistons, uh, will be doing that.
The Spurs three and a half back, but they're not going to catch the Thunder.
Um, that's just, uh, you they're not going to catch the Thunder.
That's just not enough games left.
67 games into the season.
I mean, there's still some time, but the Thunder, their cruise control is locked in.
So the Spurs pretty much have the second seed locked up.
Those are definitely going to be your top two.
All right, we were shitting on the Lakers a little bit.
But winners of last four are currently in the three seed right now with a half a game up.
Well, even, fuck it, the 3-7,
and that 7th seed, okay, here's some intrigue in the standings.
The 3 seed to the 7 seed is currently separated by two games.
You've got the Lakers, Rockets are a half game back,
the Nuggets are a half game back,
the Timberwolves in 6th are a game back,
and the Suns in 7th a half game back. The Timberwolves in sixth are a game back. And the Suns in seventh are two games back.
The Lakers could go from hosting, potentially, you know, I mean, if the Spurs lose,
but at least getting a home court advantage in the first round,
chilling, to having to play in the playing game by two games, right?
So that's huge. So all these teams, they definitely have some stuff to play for here
when it comes to seeding and not wanting to get into that seventh seed.
You don't want to be the seven.
And also, if you're the seventh seed, not only do you have to play in a playing game, you got to match up with the Spurs in the first round versus one of those other teams, too.
The Western playoffs is going to be just a cockfight.
It's going to be so good. There's going to be such great basketball play there. I hope everyone remains healthy.
But yeah, so like that's the mumbo jumbo in, in the West, the Suns in seventh. And then you've
got a, you know, a six game drop to the eighth place team. So these are the playing teams.
These teams are all locked into the playing tournament the Clippers in the 8th seed the Warriors the 9th seed
and then the Trailblazers in the 10th seed and then you've got the tankers
the Grizzlies Mavericks Pelicans Jazz and Kings all crossing their fingers and toes for lottery balls to go their way.
So, yeah, I mean, again, we could just have this on a recording.
Still loving the Clippers story, which is nice.
They're going to be a tough out in the playing game. The Blazers, people probably aren't giving the Blazers much chance in the playing game.
So we can always count them out as well.
They just don't have the experience of the Clippers, Warriors, or the talent of the Suns.
And they were just like, they were not bad enough to be bad, and someone had to be that 10-seat.
And that turns out to be the Trailblazers.
So thoughts, who's balling right now?
Who are you enjoying in the West Coast here marathon?
This man besides I was just yeah, we'll just exclude Spurs and OKC.
But right now I really like the Nuggets, which I was I mean, I wasn't too worried.
I was just more like worried about their health wise as long as you're going healthy going into the playoffs.
Shoot. Honestly, I really like the Clippers kind of being that like they try to, you know, take over and be that bottom 10 spot to make it actually come out of
the playing game. So I kind of like Kawhi Leonard's like chances, like going up against him in the
playoffs is I want to see where he's actually at. Because I mean, now he's got Ben Mather in there
with him. So that's actually going to help. I mean, and then other than at because I mean now he's got Ben Mather in there with him so that's actually going to help I mean and then other than that I mean it's the Suns I mean
they've been playing really good defense lately and good ball I just don't know if they have
enough still like I don't know what it is they really need some more firepower to help Devin
and that's all it really is because obviously Dylan's not playing right now he's hurt so
But I mean, the Rockets, yes, of course, we're going to see the Rockets do their thing.
But, man, that's still tough.
You know, obviously you can't go. You can never go against KD in the playoffs for sure.
But I'm like, we just need KD to have that.
Like if Shane Goon can, you know, drop his, you know, his average is maybe a slow double double or even just like a high high points.
the average is maybe a slow double-double or even just like a high points,
I mean, low rebounds or a couple assists like he usually does.
I feel like they could be the team that maybe could honestly either beat,
I would say they could probably beat the Nuggets.
I don't see them beating like OKC or, you know what I mean,
like or Spurs right now just because they don't have the firepower.
But, like, I feel like they could match up well with the Nuggets,
probably beat the Nuggets.
Yeah, that was right now. So, so far, really, I really like the Nuggets and the Rockets right now,
kind of just sneaking up and having an actual chance of being in the West Coast Finals.
And I think all of these teams, they have a chance because you look at every single team
and you see a superstar who could take over a game, who could take over a series, right?
You got the Lakers with Luka. You got the
Rock, you know, KD, NBA champion.
a champion yet, but he's been to the conference finals.
just that guy. The Suns, Devin Booker.
Steph Curry, proven NBA champion Steph Curry, proven NBA champion
I really wish that Jimmy Butler didn't go down for them
Because I wanted to see where they were at
Oh man, they would have been such a tough out
Same shit as last year, dude
We always like to hear new people
Hopefully this is a human being
Karmic You have to answer a question in order to talk on the stage here.
It's a basketball question.
Are you a basketball fan?
Okay, so the question is, which city do the Detroit Pistons play basketball in?
Lol. I don't know Los Angeles.
They play in Detroit, man.
Because they can play in different cities.
We get a lot of bots that come up here right now,
and they just try and farm the space.
But we want to talk to people who know basketball,
so we throw them a little trick question there, too.
Well, so first, I'm grateful here on stage.
He took me in his group of threaders
on x like long time ago so really grateful and i met him at nft paris for the short story
bro but it's gonna be like three years ago or maybe yeah yeah yeah three years ago probably
no i'm taking care of the community of tap food Wizards and Quantum Cats. And yeah, I'm spending a lot of time watching NBA.
I'm actually like doing a benchmark of like what's happening on NBA on X.
And usually there is that space that runs their most daily by Sosa and Shulk.
I don't know if you know them, Squiddy.
They have regular NBA spaces,
and they also talk about university NBA championship.
And yeah, man, I watch as many games as I can.
I try to find the best edge.
And I'm really like passionate about this sport.
And I have like hot takes.
So my first hot take is the Phoenix Suns are really scary right now because Jalen Green, he came back in full form.
So I see the Suns ready to upset almost anybody with Booker, Green, and Brooks.
But that's just my hot take for today, you know.
Yeah, Jalen Green's been cooking.
He needed his chance, honestly.
The Rockets just wasn't a perfect fit for his, like, where he was offensively.
Because, like, with Green, he's not a point guard.
He's not, you know what I mean, he's not a true point guard.
He's more of a scoring two and one.
So, like, he kind of had him in that position.
And, like, being in the Phoenix Suns now, he can actually, you know, like, exploit those, like, all day.
Like, being in that position.
Because he doesn't have that, like, certain position.
So, now you're letting Devin Booker and him kind of go off and they're like one and two kind of
guard position so it's like that's hard to guard for sure i really like them i just like right now
they got to be full strength you know i mean like having dylan brooks back for sure is going to help
them because dylan brooks and royce o'neal them motherfuckers is locked down defenders on the
perimeter you know i mean so you got to have that going into the playoffs right now.
So, yeah, as soon as they get healthy, I really like their chances. Just because, I mean, they actually have a good big.
Like, they can put it in the basket.
And they're a fast-break team.
So, yeah, like, I really like their chances.
Dude, we love meeting new people.
Like, we want new people to come up all around.
out of the nft bubble here while doing an nba talk uh we have not gotten many normies in here yet
this is episode like 18 we've done this every week for for the entire season
but we have fun we talk ball you know we talk ball with the apes and then the NFT community too and anyone wants to come up. We love hearing how it takes
And yeah, it's been it's been a blast. Did you do like so rare to
Just a bit but I'm mostly doing like predictions so okay nice
All right. Well, what's um, let me try and think here too so you got the detroit question
that was pretty impressive um which team okay you talk about the suns let's go to the east
let's go to the east right now all right um you know are the pistons for real we talked about
detroit we talked about the pistons too they're going you know wire to the Pistons for real? We talked about Detroit. We talked about the Pistons too.
They're going, you know, wire to wire to win the Eastern Conference
But a lot of these, like, young upstart teams,
they always have a welcome to the playoffs moment, right?
It happens to every team.
You know, it's happened to the Thunder.
It happened to the Warriors before their heyday where they just, like,
you know, they get their first playoffs and the NBA playoffs, as you all know,
it's a completely different game than the regular season. Every matchup, every game is important.
Every possession is important too. You find the right matchup and coaches will go to that until
the defense decides to stop it. Right. So could um, could the Pistons break that trend and,
and when the Eastern conference or are the Celtics calves, Knicks going to be too tough?
Uh, so first forget about the Knicks, uh, in my opinion, sorry. And I love that.
Love this guy. Love that. Um, because they're soft and so detroit pistons
are not soft at all so cade with couple with durian and like they're really like hard playing
ball very hard you know so they're really capable of like scaring any team so to me in order to break like you know maybe the first play of course
you need to have like a very strong mindset very competitive mindset and they are very competitive
they don't take themselves for granted and they are really like a group of like stone cold killers
so to me like yeah they are like to me the like, yeah, they are like,
the Pistons have excellent chances
of going like super deep.
Cade is a true superstar.
Yeah, he's saying, but he's saying he is the best NBA player right now.
He said it before they lost like four games in a row.
But honestly, I think this is a bit of ego.
But I think you need like strong ego when you want to win the NBA.
And so, yeah, I'm expecting the Pistons to do super well.
To me, the big story is, of course, since I'm French,
like San Antonio Spurs and Victor Wemba-Nyama.
Yesterday, they proved they were quite weak without him.
So I'm really wondering who can outmmatch okc but we can talk along the
weeks and during the playoff of course i accidentally cut out are we still here we are
we good we're here yeah oh carmig i have one quick question for you like why is basketball
so good in france what's going on, man?
You cooked with Tony Parker and many others. So there's one tall guy in NBA that Squiddy absolutely loves, right?
I think it's a mix of immigrations from the Caribbean.
Because France is all over the globe so we have like
guadalupe and like other islands in the caribbean so i think like when you've got immigration from
caribbeans and from and from africa and sub-saharan africa in particular like you've got good genetics
and actually in france people often make the joke of like
the best thing France got from immigration
are like competitively good sports teams.
So yeah, I think it's mostly about like, yeah,
the population, the demographics, you know.
If that's politically correct, I don't know.
I don't think so, but it's a good take.
you get more views, probably.
we're talking ball, right? We want to hear
support and which team do you
think will underperform during
the playoff? Well, I'm originally
from Philly. I have a love-hate
relationship with the Sixers.
Josh Harris. Sell the team.
will never win and be forever cursed
Purple's my favorite color.
I lived in Utah for a little bit.
My boy, Bryce Sinsenball, man, that nigga was
you know, they just have, you know,
but most of them are good peeps
My favorite thing ever is going to the Utah games and the Jumbotron
and seeing all the white people dance.
I don't know if that's politically correct, but listen,
we started it out and we're going to keep it going.
And, yeah, I mean, I like the Celtics.
I just like the way how they play.
And, like, that's how the Celtics are what the Sixers should have been.
So, yeah, the Jazz, I root for the Jazz.
I just like good basketball, right?
Like, since I've been, you know, I've gotten older.
And, you know, with what I do with, like, with fantasy and everything else,
like good basketball right so i don't like and the nba again grew up a diehard sixers fan
i'll still like cheer if they win or celebrate if they win or whatever but that's not happening as
long as josh harris owns the team um i love maxi and all that. Edgecombe. They've got some pieces.
But, and again, the Jazz are just tanking.
So, they're not going to be good for a little bit.
But I lived in Utah during, like, the Donovan Mitchell days.
Got to see some Gordon Haywards and Donovan Mitchell.
But, yeah, that's who I support there, too.
But I just like good hoop.
Anthony Edwards is my favorite player in the nba
Sorry, I won't just shout things. Um
Um That was funny take uh love when we get new people up here that actually know a little bit about ball let's go um karmic do your follow squiddy grateful
marathon what's good champs hope everybody's having a good day what's good ll my guy
lots of good basketball right now guys we are in the fucking thick of the goodness. The good shit right now is starting to happen in front of our eyes
before the actual playoffs come, baby.
So seeing some teams doing what they need to do
to make sure they're in their best form there
when they get there, when they arrive
for the big, actual, meaningful games.
I think that's why JT was out last night.
The Celtics in the big game, they could have had him.
They could have used him.
I don't know if it would have taken away from Jalen Brown a little bit.
He had a fucking phenomenal game.
He played his role like he does all season.
I can sit up here and about solids all day i won't i will say i'm curious i don't know if the pistons can really go six seven
games in a series with somebody with a deep bench like that i mean they they have a great squad i'm just curious does that lack of depth lack of
coaching i mean he's up for coach of the year too does he get coach of the year that's really the
main i guess question i have does he beat missoula out just by having you know this young youthful
team make it to where they are it's a really fucking good feather in
your cap it's a great season i'm curious if it beats out joe joe kind of did something with
nothing and is a fucking insane ai robot i believe but uh definitely my favorite coach
obviously uh so i'm wondering if i'm just biased or do you guys kind of smell what the Rock is
cooking? No, honestly, bro, I think you're right, man. Honestly, like, I mean, obviously the Detroit
Pistons, they're young, they're the upcoming team right now, but you got to go with what
true and pride is with, you know what I mean? Like Missoula has always proven himself going in,
even during the season, going into the playoffs, into the playoffs.
So they've always made the right moves. Like he's honestly, you know, it's like we're going to have to see where Detroit actually goes,
how far they go in the playoffs to really give the flowers to the coach.
You know, I mean, that's where we're at right now, because obviously the players can do it.
But when we're talking about going to the playoffs, it comes down to coaching, too.
You know, I mean, you got to make the right moves. You got to make sure they're, you know, have the right players coming off the bench, especially.
So I'm like right now with planning right now, I feel like Boston has an upper hand just because they know what to do.
They have they've always had that template going. You know, I mean, they've had the the nine, the fucking six to nine guy coming off the bench, knowing his role.
So right now I would kind of still give it to Missoula just because like he's you know like I said it's just that it's Boston you know I mean
they're they're always showing their true colors and it's like right now with Detroit they've
always been off and on since you know since Rodney Bill and since Chauncey Billups and
Tayshaun Prince and all those guys so that's really the kind of last time we've really seen
these guys really cook you know I mean so we can't really say't really say like, oh, yeah, you know what I mean?
They're, you know what I mean?
They've been holding solid, but Boston has been actually holding solid even since those days.
So that's why you got to really kind of give it to them, really.
And I really like just because Missoula, he don't play that shit.
Like, yeah, he's just no nonsense.
And they're, like I said, they'll be the team to be reckoned with for sure.
The Pistons, I would argue, they kind of have sneaky depth.
They traded, what's his name?
But listen, you only go eight guys max in the playoffs.
You've got their starting lineup.
They've got some shooting and Duncan Robinson and Kevin Herter.
Ron Holland has been starting to turn it up a little bit.
I know he's young, but he's been giving them some minutes.
They got Stewart, the enforcer.
Paul Reed has played some playoff basketball.
Then, you know, my guy Tobias.
My guy Tobias. I hope he does not come up Then, you know, my guy Tobias. My guy Tobias.
I hope he does not come up small.
But, like, yeah, dude, it's just going to come down to Cunningham and Dern
and seeing what they can do.
Just playing defense, you know, just like bully ball.
I really want to see what Dern does, bro.
I think Dern can be the key.
Like, if he plays like how he does and becomes the monster that he is, then, yeah, they'll think Dern can be the key. You know what I mean? If he plays how he does and
becomes the monster that he is, then yeah,
they'll go deep as hell in the playoffs.
That's a role they needed
filled like that, no doubt.
Okay, speaking of true colors last night,
the Celtics had an all-whites playoff.
They've had like a starting lineup.
It's an all-whites starting lineup.
I think it was the first ever.
I mean, if we're going to have race as the theme for our basketball chat today,
It was pretty funny to see on that.
They fucking did really well.
That's a true testament to the system.
amusing to see out there like okay your gardens at your garden shea butter okay let's go
got some more people in here spy and fertile down there what's going on
great to see you all rocking the fisters love that welcome lucid um Singa, welcome to the NBA show. And we've got Mecha down there.
Welcome to the NBA show. Looks like you're a proper mutant there, so I'm going to follow you back.
Got over 100 neutral follows. Nice to have you down here. We talk NBA every Friday with Marathon, Grateful, and myself, Squiddy.
We are just diving into what's going on.
This show will start popping off for the playoffs.
But until then, we continue to go through the entire season understanding storylines,
talking players, big performances.
We talked a little bit about BAM and his 83 point game
Oh, there we go. We got the you know the game came with some asterisk to a lot of people
Luca don't teach wife performance. Oh my gosh
Luca had a great game recently to
fight on if I'm not mistaken yeah he did over 50 for the first time yeah that
was the first time he had 50 for Lakers Wow yeah 50 51 10 and 9
Yeah, it actually won me 200 bucks and so rare I'm pretty pumped about it nice fucking Had a sick parlay last night with Detroit and the Celtics and fucking a
That's that's a line for 51 17 of 31 from the field
54% 8 and 9 from the line
nine threes, 3 steals to boot as well.
It's a shame he didn't get the triple-double.
But, yeah, Luka is good at basketball.
Him and Austin Reeves just play fucking amazing when LeBron's not on the court.
When LeBron is out, Luka can be free.
He just has a fucking 35 game off the bench like his light, you know, so.
Yo, he looks like he's running point at the YMCA out there.
So, grateful you want to tell the story of, like, Luka Doncic's wife
or, like, we remind it quickly
um i think um i think she's um she's she might be even quicker than luca you know in
quicker and fleeing the country to slovenia right um it's terrible this is terrible i don't know why
that happened so i don't want to go into details but this sucks but I watched some interview with Luca and he was
like you know I'm paid to play basketball so that's what I do right it
has to be really tricky but I also read that he actually put all his money and
possession into his mom's name you know so that was probably a good move but yeah it's crazy yeah definitely he had
like some he broke up with his wife and like all those okay family things and
know he's dating like an influencer superstar I don't know like a beautiful
woman but no he maybe can be more like free, you know, and express himself
I'm not big fan of I'm a fan of the Lakers but not the current team But definitely I like when there is performance
I like when players can give the best of themselves and so if you can be relieved
That that's what you look as new girlfriend probably likes to you. I like you already Karmic
Hey, I like you already, Karmic.
You already seen what's going on, man.
The Lakers are not what we all thought they were going to be.
Yes, they have some talent on there, but they are not going to be winning a chip anytime soon.
I can tell you that right now.
Unfortunately, I mean, I'm sorry to any of my LA people in there.
I mean, I'm a true Laker fan, y y'all like anyone who knows me on this space like i said i grew up fucking riding my bike to the
actual forum to go fucking get scalp tickets to go watch the laker game so like i said i am a true
laker fan and i can see it right now that we don't have a chance and hell even if we have luca yes we
have it all it's just we're just i don't think we have the the right firepower. I don't think we're meshing enough. You know, I mean, like it's the fact that it's the fact that when LeBron doesn't play, they all play good.
You know, I mean, and when LeBron plays, they don't play good.
You know what I mean? So that's why I was saying, like, we got to have a team that meshes together where everybody can play good, no matter what the superstars on the fucking bench or not.
play good no matter what the superstars on the fucking bench or not like the like let's go for
a good example let's say the nuggets joker goes down the nuggets fucking win like six out of the
eight games you know i mean that's what you that's what you're trying to go for you trust your bench
trust the players without your superstar and that's why i'm like i don't think the lakers
had that right now so teams need an identity and they can't be they can't become that new thing that they're trying to be
while fucking LeBron is aging on the court.
I mean, I like seeing the Lakers at their best as well because that's when I like to
It's that you want the best competition you can if you're a true basketball fan.
You don't want to beat some scrubs.
Like, you don't want to beat a half-broke team.
He, I, unfortunately, and I really don't know if it's his fault,
he's fucking up the team.
It's him really not knowing what he wants out of his retirement,
his last season. When retirement his last season when
is his last season gonna be you know are you gonna fucking start tom bradying us with these
you know retirements like that's kind of what i expect to start happening soon and then maybe he
goes to a couple other teams tries to play with the sun but it's not about the lakers i guess is
my point the narrative isn't about the lakers. You've got the best fucking shooting guard in the fucking league, best score,
and yet this is the narrative.
This can't be the narrative if that's the case.
It has to change, and he won't accept that lesser role.
He's not offering to take less money or to come off the bench
whatever it takes to make them win.
I'm sorry, but this is why he's not
in the conversation of the greatest there are.
Agreed, but don't you think that gives him more
fucking knowledge of when he needs to get out of the way
I think he should start playing
baseball for a few years and then
come back to NBA you know
one huge benefit for me Squiddy
and Marathon here because last time we talked about
that we cannot wear a jersey of player
So basically, LeBron is the only one that we can
wear these days. So please, keep
playing, man. Keep playing.
Yeah, we talked about that too. That's
just the lifestyle thing for me too.
And you know, I like to preach
You know, listen, don't be a grown man at a basketball
game wearing a jersey of a 22 year old without it and if you're gonna do so at least have like
a long sleeve shirt or a t-shirt underneath right don't just fucking go you better be right jersey
you're not you're not suiting up for the game bro you better be related family members somebody
yeah family members are good and homies are good, too
But yeah, it's weird when I when I saw Alpha DJ in Vegas for a first guys
He he had a Greg Popovich jersey on him. So he's probably out of the
older oh yeah so no we are cruising again more peeps coming through what's going on proof alpha
we got essential down there what's going on welcome lucid um i don't know what you are but
you followed us and followed you back it looks like you're doing something with ape chain so that's cool ape chain on top um we've got
uh who else just joined here quinn welcome rocking the g's how good to see you all here
we do this every friday 10 a.m eastern time which uh it was a lot better when I had a job now like I live in Miami and I go out Thursday nights
It's gotten a lot rougher to to come through
Oh, we got Jonah in the house to talking to NBA Jonah if you got any NBA basketball hot takes
Again, the playoffs are around bro. I heard I heard rumors that Jonah is actually killing it in LA Fitness in Miami, man.
But I don't know why he doesn't want to clip it.
But, yeah, he's been killing it there.
We got to get some clips for.
They hooping down at LA Fitness down in Miami.
I'm going to go bring my niggas right now with me.
You know, I don't even have shoes. but, dude, I'm down the ball.
There's actually some outdoor courts outside of my apartment.
They have solid runs on Mondays and Wednesdays.
Yeah, we got a solid team.
I got a solid team right now, honestly.
And then you add some sharpshooting here.
I'll stand in the corner.
And I set magnificent off-ball screens.
I can help with the white quota.
going to go out. Everyone needs
dude who's got the lifetime barbecue
their squad. And that's just the role
I fill. Listen, I'm a team guy.
I do what the coaches say.
I know my role, and I'm an MVP in my role. I'm not going to I'm a team guy. You know, I do what the coaches say. I know my role, and I'm
an MVP in my role, right? I'm not
going to try and do anything else.
Real team player there, too. And
I'm excited for us to put that
theory to the test, whether it's tonight
Marathon. I got my guy down here in
And we are going to have a good time.
Yo, aren't you all together right now?
Or when was that space supposed to happen?
I'm out here right now, LL.
What part of the city are you in?
Right now, I'm up in Delray just visiting my sister right now.
But I'm going to shoot back down here in a few.
Fuck it. In a few. Fuck yeah.
My parents are up in that area.
Didn't even know that, Squiddy.
And when I'm looking, I'm getting out of Miami soon.
I'm going to move up because, one, the traffic.
And yes, I know I've got the nightlife down here and everything but i'm getting old you know i can still do it but it's so easy
to get down to miami if i just want to party for a night so you won't be chilling at the clubhouse
from a board a piaud club when it opens in miami uh like at the end of the year, but when I had a little,
I have not been tweeting much lately.
I tweeted my thoughts and then it,
I just pinned it to the top.
I had illa fucking retweeting me with some meme.
And, uh, anyone have any intel? What's going on?
Because I've talked with people from the West Coast that were connected.
So basically, there will be several rooms.
So obviously, you will be able to watch NBA there, it seems.
I'm not sure you will be able to do predictions like there but there was a rumor going that they could get like a license it's just a rumor you know in the street that they
could get like a license for a very small poker room and then a share of the rake that they will
go will go back to buy back of 4-day pass sets.
Can I ask who your plug is?
Insert, I don't believe you mean.
But definitely excited about the clubhouse, even though I don't buy pass sets yet. But definitely excited about the clubhouse,
even though I don't buy cassettes yet.
But definitely, I would see them doing something with NBA 100%. I would love them to get involved with the Miami Heat.
It's going to come eventually, I'm sure.
Yeah, because you see Ledger,
which is like a french company
that is gonna get listed like uh in new york uh ledgers are sponsoring like the san antonio spurs
so it's of course like a different scale uh but i think like crypto companies are very much
interested into sports pungie penguins they did something with manchester city
into sports pudgy penguins they did something with manchester city um there will be the new
nba franchise in las vegas next year or in two years so definitely i would love to see like
a lot of like nba prediction poker related in the clubhouse and i think it's like around the plans
when you look at like what happened at the apepe Fest in Vegas etc I think there has been like serious talks
to get a license or something along those lines you know but what all right
well all right there Karmic dude it's been great having you on the show what a
nice little addition yes second I think second guess to only Papa
Squiddy let's go mmm yeah then we have Frosty's here or he just left okay he
was like what's going on here with basketball but guys like when I was in
Miami for the first time over like 20 years ago I went hoop into the la fitness but i didn't know it's la fitness
and karmic you from france so i call it la fitness bro and i was like where's the nearest
of course they thought i'm crazy you know so that was a that was i go to i go to the gym. I go to La Fitness.
Great stuff. We are an hour in. I have to jump on a
call. You guys want to keep going.
this and put the phone somewhere else.
It's up to you guys. I mean it's up
to Grateful and Marathon here, my co-hosts. You already know I can always talk
basketball all day. And then I can just kind of like go in and out a little bit.
So I have to dip in like 10 but it's's okay, man. We have a lot of people here on stage, you know.
All right, let's keep it going.
I just need to say hi to the show.
And then I'm going to turn off my camera.
But good stuff, everyone.
LL, quick question. How do you think
how do you like Ben Mather
being over at the Clippers right now?
honestly, I haven't watched a Clippers game
Right. I mean, I guess they don't really get too much
ticked TV time like that anymore.
But yeah, I've been watching his, bro, he's been cooking over there since he left the Pacers.
Like, he's the best addition to them right now.
See him on the stat line, you know, like, obviously contributing.
So I'm like, that's a good fit for him over there, man.
I'm like, the Clippers just need to get back to having a big again.
They still got Derrick Jones.
They still got all their players.
Obviously, they don't have what's-his-name that went out to Miami anymore.
But other than that, I mean, I still like the Clippers being strong coming out.
I think they're going to still surprise somebody.
Like, being in that 10th spot, I really think they would really surprise somebody coming out of that play in I kind of feel like they're a scary team if uh you
you know you end up with a matchup against them in the playoffs that could uh they could end up
beating you down seven games you didn't think you had in you like to basically any squad right now
um and I hate to say that because I'm not a huge Clevers fucking fan,
but the talent is kind of undeniable there right now.
I mean, I just didn't think it was going to be there,
What do you think about the Nuggets right now?
How do you think they're coming out around the second half?
So fucking slept on, man.
I don't understand how this narrative has kind of happened
you know i jamal murray jokic maybe maybe the best two like healthy together playing
so yeah i mean do i like watching jb and jT play together? Is that a great duo?
Hands down. Is another duo just a dynamic, hard-running basketball?
It's just great to watch.
It's going to be great to watch during the playoffs.
You know, I love seeing, you know, huge Serbs cook, and it's just awesome.
Especially if the Nuggets
are fully healthy man honestly that's gonna be there there is gonna be them OKC Spurs Rockets
right now just really you know holding that solid like sports for one through four for sure I'm like
but the Nuggets gonna be so dangerous if they have I mean have been having Aaron Gordon back right
now I'm like all they need is Peyton Watson back right now and then they almost would be at full strength you know I mean they got Christian Braun still doing this thing. I'm like, all they need is Peyton Watson back right now. And then they almost would be at full strength. You know what I mean? They got Christian Braun still doing
his thing. So I'm like Cam Johnson, he's kind of like still finding his role still there. You know
what I mean? I feel like he's still kind of like got that Brooklyn Nets offense in his head right
now. Like, Hey, I just need the ball. Like I got to take as many shots as I can, which now Michael
Porter Jr. is doing. So it's like, but yeah, I feel like he'll find his role here soon, especially
they'll use them in the playoffs.
Just, you know what I mean?
Just kind of be in that, sit in that corner for us.
Be that corner boy, shoot threes.
So yeah, I really like the Nuggets, man,
especially if they go in full strength for sure.
I mean, super fun to watch too.
Yeah, and Aaron Gordon, he had a nice impact on the last game.
But to me, maybe it's provocative, but to me, Denver Nuggets, it's done only.
Meaning they had their peak.
And so now they've got to find support, of course.
But physically, I don't see them overperforming a series of seven games.
And of course, they're one of the top teams.
But yeah, all about injuries, you know.
And to me, they were at the peak.
And I tend to see NBA teams or NBA dynasties like maybe as a meme coin, meaning it has only one leg up.
And then it's often like done only.
And of course, I might be wrong.
But to me, the chances that the Denver Nuggets win the NBA championship, to me, is close to zero.
But they're a great team, of course.
But yeah, they are top four, top six.
But to me, they are not winning this.
Everybody was like, is the Denver Nuggets the team to beat even next year?
They were definitely saying that after they won their first chip.
And it's like kind of the injuries kind of rippled them a little.
And I feel like them making, like, some offseason trades, you know what I mean?
Like, I feel like they could have made a little more.
Just, like, even done a couple more things, you know what I mean?
Just to, like, kind of push them back into like that like where yeah we can see them still
like being you know being as a contender again and doing a repeat but right now I feel like
since the Nuggets didn't make too many moves I mean obviously they got Bruce Brown back you know
they got Cam Johnson but it wasn't like they kind of stayed the same you know I mean and they stayed
the same and they got then they got injured and then they kind of like there you could see them
like slowly their momentum was, slowly going down the hill
just because you've seen these younger teams.
Obviously, the Spurs, OKC, even in the Rockets right now,
they just started to show they can match up with a big West Coast team like that.
So you're right, for sure, Carmich, that they were at their peak at one point.
And now that's why I was asking Squiddy a while back.
I was like, man, should we kind of be worried about the Nuggets like obviously they're kind of you know they're going into the
playoffs not full strength but I'm like I was kind of more worried about like how Karmic was saying
like they were at their peak but now people kind of see them as like they're they're beatable you
know I mean they're not they're not the top team you know I'm saying like everyone looks at Boston
they're like well shit we got to try to figure out actually how to beat them.
You know what I mean? We got to worry about these guys coming off the bench. We got to plan for this. We got to plan for that.
So it's like, yeah, I see where you're coming from, Carmich, for sure.
Like I don't see them like winning a chip right now again this year.
They just don't have what not they don't say they don't have what it is.
They don't have the personnel. They do have the personnel.
I feel like they just don't have the personnel that's like fully healthy.
You know what I mean? Yeah. Exactly.
And when you look at the data as well, you've got to watch at bench performance and what they call bench standard deviation.
And you were mentioning the Clippers and Mathurin,
who got transferred from the Pacers.
This guy brings a lot of bench performance.
And when you're talking about the playoffs,
you're talking about long,
exhausting series, you know.
it's going to be a lot of
who made the smartest choices
the trade deadline, and who has
the most performing bench.
Because, okay, the superstars you can
play the matchups you know their impact but the bench that brings that type of like surprise or
like unpredictability and uh and to me to to win to win the nba championship you've got to have like
a top-notch bench so that's why like i i personally i love
the clippers i love what they're offering um for the big man they have like bruce lopez like who
were coming from like the bucks of course he's not like the best but he still has some moves
but they've got like kawaii leonard like he is arguably one of the top three players right now he never misses a shot
and they've got like maturin which is also like excellent and basically during like every quarter
you know you're gonna be like points raining raining shoots going in and like really the
clippers are really like uh how do you say, a scarecrow?
Yeah, to me, the Clippers, they are a scarecrow.
Nobody wants to play against them.
You know, they are super, they are scary.
You know, they can always upset anyone.
So, yeah, just my point was about like,
have a strong bench and your substitutes,
they can really like change,
make the whole difference on a series of maybe six or seven long games.
you've got to respect data and you've got to respect statistics,
I think with the nuggets part of that,
Karmic is that the bar was set really,
really high while they were playing together as a unit.
You know, when everybody was healthy, when they were getting it done,
they saw what, like, success looked like with the Nuggets
and when they're healthy.
And then I think maybe part of it is that while they were healthy,
And it's like, oh, this is our best squad.
You know, like, we didn't make it out of this round.
You know, we didn't expect this.
And they were kind of shocked themselves.
So I don't know if that'll happen again the same way.
But a good squad regardless.
Yeah, and also, like the Spurs, everybody talks about talks about wendy he's an alien etc
i think people do a bit too much because like when he's challenged physically it's very difficult
for for him and without one banyama like the spurs like they cannot win so um as a frenchman i'm really a bit scared of what can happen if like
people try to injure him let's say a guy from okc like lou dort so for people who are not familiar
with lou dort he's like a villain who plays for okc he doesn't play for okc he's a wwe player
he does a little kickboxing in his spare time.
Right. That's exactly what he does.
So he has a reputation to injure or try to injure the best opposing players in the team.
And he's been quite successful at it.
And recently he was in the fight with Jokic.
Maybe you guys saw on shorts when there was almost a fight on the court.
And Jokic, he basically pushed Jokic.
And Jokic was like, man, you shouldn't play with me.
And he made him his face with the big eyes.
But what I'm saying, basically, is when you're going to play against a guy guy who constantly trying to injure you and your team revolves around
one alien it can be like quite difficult you know it's like let's say yeah if you've got like
crypto punks okay you've got the alien punks that never lose value uh but if like some something's
trying to take down the floor or regular punks so You know, it's more difficult. But still, I like the chances of the Spurs.
The issue with Lou Doerr is that the refs don't do
what they're supposed to do with Lou Doerr.
And so everybody feels like they've got to come off the bench
and just start fucking punching the dude in the face
so that their squad's going to be all right.
I mean, I'm pretty positive that Jason Tatum didn't play last night because we were fucking playing against Louis Dort.
They didn't want to see third game back getting pushed around, you know, thrown on the ground.
So, bro, it's true. That's just did it. That's planning. That was just good planning.
That's all it was. You know what I mean? Like, you just got to know your personnel.
You know what I mean? Like, you just got to know your personnel.
Like, I'm not going to go out there and have Jason Tatum be guard by, you know, Draymond Green or Isaiah Stewart from, you know, the Detroit Pistons.
You know what I mean? I don't need him to go out there and get thrown out the ring.
So, yeah, that's the truth. I mean, that's just great planning right there.
You just definitely don't want to do that. And I mean, yeah, Lou Dort, obviously he's a bruiser.
You know what I mean? Everyone has one has a bruiser on their team.
You know what I mean? Like you you kind of just have to have that like to set the tone you know i mean even though it's a
you know you got dirty players you got bad actors you know i mean like that's just how basketball is
sometimes and you know like some people some guys just know their role you know i mean i'm
i'm here to be the enforcer i'm gonna let y'all know that we don't play that and you know i mean
if i gotta get me a dirty screen in or you know whatever that's just how some players is man it's
like that's that Bush League basketball.
It's allowed, and sometimes it's not allowed.
Some people, it depends on who the personnel is, how their mental is.
Do you want to go? We can go there. We can take it as far as you want.
You want to start battling, bruising each other, or you want to play simple basketball, keep it clean.
You got to really just know where you're at.
Definitely Boston knew what they were doing last night for sure.
Yeah, I just think we were, like, not going to risk it.
Like, third game back, no thank you.
Seriously, that's what I'm like, man, bro, like, like I said, man,
if people can just follow that template, man, like Boston's fucking bench, dude, is literally like they have they have what it is, man.
That's like the the the actual like cheat sheet.
You know what I'm saying? Like you better have a great bench, man, because like we trust in our guys that can actually keep us up 30.
You know what I mean? That's really nice.
So, you know, I'll be honest. The biggest thing I missed last night was and i mean when i saw the injury report i'm like fuck derrick whiteout uh this is gonna be a tough game you know
like people don't understand how big of a the motherfucker knows his role and he knows how to
play basketball his iq is probably top 10 in the league when it comes to basketball IQ.
And he knows he can make a better impact some nights defensively and get in the head of a great shooter.
They're all star, whoever it is, because he can defend and he can score, man.
And he's just a great addition to any basketball team.
I think that's why San Antonio loved him so much.
And now he's got the chip.
He, I think, has a chip on his shoulder a little bit, too, about that.
And he doesn't come out and talk about it.
So it's really kind of cool to see him at his best.
But when they don't have him, it's next man up.
But it's just a different kind of pace, I suppose.
Yeah, and when you were talking about him playing at San Antonio before,
there was actually like two games ago.
It was Celtics against spurs and like the spurs
like beat the celtics i think by nine or something like that but like this um because jalen brown
was ejected but why jalen brown was on the ground like they were absolutely killing the spurs you
know and that's you know you see the difference versus like and i love the spurs, you know. And that's, you know, you see the difference versus like,
and I love the Spurs, I want them to win, of course.
But that's the difference between like a top-tier team
and a top-tier professional team.
Because like the level of professionalism and excellency
in like the Celtics is like unmatched in the NBA.
And when you see like they are playing without Tatum,
which is, like, one of their, like, top two players
against, like, San Antonio,
And they were walking on them,
like, seven points during the whole game.
I'm like, okay, I was thinking Spurs could, like,
But no, actually, when you put,
when you've got, like, the Celtics at their peak,
Even OKC, I think, cannot outmatch them.
And you talk about their bench.
They've got that guy who is a starter,
That guy is an absolute beast.
That dude can start on any other team around the league.
He scored like a basket the other game.
And so this guy, yeah, sometimes his stats are inconsistent.
But like his vision of the game.
And like in Celtics also, everything is for the team and that's very
important when you're looking at pistons you feel like the ball revolves to kate cunningham and then
he agrees to share it with jell and dur and you know when you see minnesota you see like the ball
is from anthony edwards and like yeah he does basically what he wants, even like argues with the coach.
But when you see the Celtics, it's all about like the scoring, you know.
And, you know, everyone can shoot threes, etc.
Even like Keta, like the center, like he's doing like marvels, like he's really like a revelation.
But like the Celticsics they are about like the
performance of the team they are not about the performance of a star you know and even Jalen
Braun you can say okay he's big-headed etc man you've got to be aware that this guy he's like
a graduate engineer he had like he has he had like a life other than like basketball and like it's super crazy hot
smarties so definitely like the Celtics are like the IQ which is like top
professional and so yeah if they have like the right physical condition you
cannot beat like a machine a computer, a computer, and they're basically like a computer. So, yeah.
And, dude, I would like to say anyone wants to argue,
but I would say Jalen Brown might be one of the best one and two players in the game right now.
Defense, offense-wise, like, the dude is a smart player.
Obviously, we know he – we definitely know he's smart off the court,
but, like, IQ on the court is ridiculous. That's why I'm like, you could see Jalen Brown already leading the team last year before Tatum was even hurt.
You could already see him in the playoffs.
These are the shots that he was taking.
Jason Tatum's performance was okay last year, but it wasn't like you could see that just as Jalen Brown's team.
You know what I'm saying?
Actually, they were giving the ball to Jalen Brown, like, damn near every other
Like, Jason Tatum was scoring, but it wasn't, like I said, you could literally see that
Jalen Brown was doing everything from offense to defense to rebounding to everything.
So it was like, yeah, you could see that Jalen Brown has officially, this is his team.
Jason Tatum's still the face of the team.
But when we're talking about, like, the actual core, helping the core team,
yeah, we're saying it's Jalen Brown for sure because he's the transmission.
I would say Jason Tatum is the motor, but yeah, Jalen Brown is the actual transmission of the team for sure.
And when you were talking about his rebounds, like Jalen Brown rebounds, that is impressive.
And so, yeah, Jalen Brown is definitely the workaholic in the team.
Like, Tatum is definitely
the face, like the diamond, etc.
man, when the two are going to be
fully reunited, it's going to be...
I don't want to be, like,
Pistons defense can be easily
We're getting close to the playoffs, baby.
You can tell by the just turning on any game.
Like, every game is getting intense.
Like, the defense, people are strapping down.
Like, we're not even getting as high scores.
As we usually see during the regular season, which is crazy.
So, that's why I'm like, yeah, it's that time.
So everybody buckle down for sure.
Batting the hatches because we're getting ready.
Like, it's going to be some good playoff basketball.
You know what I'm really excited to see, man?
I really want to see the Charlotte Hornets, man, kind of like,
obviously they're pushing right now.
Like, I really want to see them play somebody in the first round.
That's going to be a fucking exciting series.
Whoever they play, oh, it's going to be run and gun.
Yeah, they're going to upset.
Charlotte will upset definitely, man.
They will upset, like, favorites.
To me, it's a no-brainer.
I think it's the best performing team since January.
best performing team since January. They've got like, Knoppel, who is like, one of the
best shooters in the league, and the best rookie shoot three point shooter ever.
They are covering all this,. They are winning them.
So definitely, yes, Charlotte.
It's really unpredictable because apart from the Celtics,
the team who are favorite,
are kind of, let's say, rookie teams.
Let's say, okay, you've got the Spurs,
you've got the Pistons, you've got Charlotte, you know.
Like, really, the only experienced teams at this point are, like,
really, like, Celtics and even OKC, you know, they are experienced.
We've seen, and we'll get off the Celtics,
because I know you all get tired of me hearing about them, but we've seen them kind of pull out off the Celtics because I know y'all get tired of me hearing
about them but we've seen them kind of pull out against really good teams the belt and when you
know everybody including the freaking announcers run out of shit to talk about because they're like
well we didn't expect this one but they're really putting it to them and you know they're up 20 at
the half and then maybe they lose 10 of that and then
come back and finish 15 20 up but they're pulling out the belt on some teams that are good squads so
the question is what other fucking teams have that same ability and depth to where it's going to
matter in the playoffs and we're going to see like beside i mean is that charlotte because i
I wouldn't want to draw them first.
You know, that's a, yeah, that's, I would say right now, like, to be try and true, like,
in the show that you, you know, you've been here and done that before.
I mean, I was, man, that's a tough one. But, I mean, I would want to say Cleveland almost just because, like like Donovan Mitchell is kind of like, you know, I mean, he's taking them pretty.
I mean, they've gone to the playoffs, you know what I mean? But I would say like any other teams, like if you're talking about the East, right now, it's going to be a tough one, man, because the Pistons really ain't done that shit too much.
You know what I mean? Like Boston's been tried and true, like 76ers. Yeah, they're all right. But like, yeah, that's what I'm saying. The Knicks.
Like 76ers, yeah, they're all right.
But, like, yeah, that's what I'm saying.
The Knicks, man, that's a tough one, man, bro.
There's not too many people that can really follow that, bro.
That's a tough lead to follow, man, because, like I said, Boston has literally –
they have the blueprint right now, which sucks.
So, I'm like, I'm not saying it does suck,
but it's like a lot of teams can't follow up with that right now.
And, yeah, that's kind of hard.
So, I'm like, man, if we're talking about in the east right now I would say maybe Cleveland maybe the
Knicks you know I mean but and then we can go to the west coast we'll say OKC the Nuggets you know
I mean I don't even say the Lakers but we maybe even throw them in there but yeah I'll say like
that's actually try to like proven like having bench, having people come off the bench,
you know, doing that, like, producing stuff.
It's going to be kind of hard to match that, bro.
I don't know if anyone's really matching with Boston's eye.
Maybe the Nuggets, when they're playing well,
they have that ability to kind of play dominant.
And that's what I'm like because they would have the deepest bench,
you know what I mean, like opposed to like anybody else.
I'm like, I'm trying to think about who would actually have a deep bench
who can like literally say, oh, man, we got a defensive lockdown person
We got someone off the bench coming scoring 30.
So it's like, yeah, that's a tough one, man, for real.
Yeah, I hesitate to say the Knicks have that in them right now.
I mean, maybe playoffs changes that.
That's what I was going to say. Yeah, only when it comes to playoffs
because then you see their Villanova team show out.
You know what I mean? That's only really, really is.
Yeah, then you're like, wait,
hold on, where was this team off?
said that marathon because really
are a marathon. And the playoffs are a marathon.
this year in the playoffs is the experience
can definitely lose at any point
six games, seven games uh but we'll definitely
have we will definitely have answer and when you look at the nba you've got that shift of like you
know let's say the old not the old guard because they're kind of young you know but even the guy
like let's say uh okay uh booker or like yanis you know kd Yanis, you know, KD, all the stars,
and you can see it by like,
you see players that can drop like,
but you're gonna see that, it's gonna be really like experience
let's say boston celtics versus like the explosive use of other teams like the pistons and things
like that exactly and like i said the boston is going to exploit everybody because they've been
they've showed before anybody that you have to have a bench if you don't have a bench like that's
what everyone was trying to do is build up all these like let's get a starting five of just straight superstars
all right that's fine but what about when you guys sub out the guys on the bench can't even
put in fucking 10 points you know i mean like that's what boston is proving like yeah we got
a guy like peyton pritchard coming off the bench who can fucking score 50 literally can score 50
if you let him get off the fucking chain so that's why i'm
like yeah you got to have someone like that you got to be able to trust your bench and boston
has done that year after year after year and people are trying to follow it but it's kind of
hard because everyone wants to build a super team you know i mean they're like man let me try to
build this super team right now so i can get me a chip it's like no you gotta look we gotta look
past this we're looking for the longevity now right now because. Cause you know, building these super teams is old.
And it's, you know what I mean?
It's, it's got out of there once, you know, once Boston did that,
build that super team, the Miami heat tried to do that, man, man,
that shit was out the window.
Everyone said that these may, they could still be beat.
It doesn't matter if you guys have a superstars team,
We have another eight guys off the bench right now that can do the same
So that's all the bench right now that can do the same thing so that's
all it is right now and i feel like if the nba kind of just goes back to not trying to build up
all these superstars and just have your two superstars on each team and everybody just you
know doing their role yeah the nba is going to get back to what it used to be it'll be real fun
you know i mean definitely yeah we need more we need more people like brad steven say exists because he just sees
it for how it's gonna roll like i mean he sees value where you have to find it to be able to win
no other team is going to be able to go out and pay not pay excuse me peyton pritchard like i mean
the motherfucker cooked, and look
at his contract for the next two years
of what he's going to get paid
I mean, I don't think his performance
has literally dwindled away. That's the thing.
He's just getting better and better.
His contract is going to be
fucking filthy by the time he's like, you know what I mean?
If he does what he're about to go.
Dude, five years from now, he's going to sign a 300-go back.
Like I said, he can start at any other team in the league, hands down for sure, and he can average 20 and something if he really wanted to.
That's just him averaging 20 and, like, six assists just because he wants to, you know?
I'd love to see him you know
i can't say that out loud okay okay but but just to circle back like when you in history when you
have all explosive youths versus experience experience always wins in the long run.
And there is another thing
And what I like to see in NBA
is there's going to be an NBA team
And man, maybe in another episode
next Friday, we can talk about
who we would like to see for players in this super team in Las Vegas,
because it's going to be like freaking insane, man.
They're going to for sure.
They're going to get to the flag or something like that.
It's going to be like super crazy.
Yeah, that's what I'm saying.
And Squiddy was talking about like how next year's draft class is going to be like we're all stacked.
So that's all like next year for class is going to be. We're all stacked.
Next year for basketball is going to be jam-packed.
It should be great games all around.
Maybe it's going to be the last draft after all.
Man, that'd be crazy for sure.
I think we need to do a March Madness version of this space next week and start talking about some of this young talent that's about to pop into the NBA.
I like it, y'all, for sure.
So we all got some homework to do next week.
And just before I need to fly off, but do you guys collect NBA cards as well?
Is that a topic of interest?
Oh, man, wherever Grateful is right now.
Him and Squiddy, that's a sore subject for them.
So I know Squiddy can hear this.
He said, what's the sore subject?
Said about the collecting the NBA cards, man.
Oh, yeah, I'm a collector. I'm a collector
Okay, because Pokemon card like maybe I've talked one piece you don't know but like in
Hey, no, bro. Try and tell me I don't know one piece. I'm watching the live action right now, bro
I've got some one piece cards too
I'm the one piece like I called them me 11 months ago in our discord that like people made
shit on but like nba cards it's gonna be crazy especially with the new wave of players you know
we bring a lot of diversity like cooper flag when he goes to a game like the kids are like
lining by 10 dozens of dozens just to get their card signs.
The man's the, yeah, we've got to run this shit up.
I just opened up a blaster of the NBA tops Chrome 2025, 2026.
So I, I, I gotta go to target.
I gotta go see what's up.
Although I missed the last time.
I'm usually, you know, when I'm at my parents, I up there for a restock it's and it's rainy right now too so maybe i uh
run over to the miami target although i don't really squiddy i don't think anyone's gonna be
in line you might want to catch it they don't really have uh they don't really have a good
a good restock at this uh at the the mid, the midtown target. I don't think,
Maybe I'll go check it out.
And since it's raining, maybe like fewer people will be,
people will be lazy to go there and buy the restock.
We were saying maybe, uh, next, next week we mix up a little March Madness.
Who's going to be on the watch list of stars to be joining the next year?
That was a good show, man.
I think we can kind of close it off at that one good stuff
Yeah, that's when he comes back. Let's lock it. Let's lock it down
