All right, guys, let's try this again. I don't know what's been going on with X lately. Like today,
I've noticed a lot of people got rugged all day long. So I don't know if it's the heat or what,
because it has been hot out there. But we'll give a couple more minutes.
Let everybody get back in here. We'll continue on. Sorry about that, Crow. Happens, man.
Once again, if you're here with Billy Goat Tales, this is part two of our discussion
with Crypto Crow, Jason Appleton, and we were just getting in. I think he was
just about to speak about just what else he's excited about of what's coming into it,
but we'll give it just a couple minutes to get all our speakers back up and get things rolling.
Yeah, once everybody's in here, I'm going to go over some of the use cases
that that Grok propositioned after
reading the Midnight White paper, and some of this stuff is pretty interesting.
Okay, okay. Can you guys hear me? Okay. Here you fine. All right, man. Bye. We'll try it again,
right? We'll try it again. So yeah, Cro, why don't you get into some of that?
I'm sure people will filter on in. Why don't you get into some of the use cases? That'd be awesome.
Yeah. Yeah. So I love to play with Grok. I'm on Grok 4 now. And I, I mean,
I use all the models for different things and experimenting, but I love Grok. And I,
I took the Midnight White paper and I uploaded it into Grok, and I said, Analyze this white paper
and give me like the top twenty. I won't go through all of them, but give me
the top twenty real world use cases that are going to benefit from this technology, from this chain.
And the very first one was private financial transactions. And you know, when you look at you know,
like Seth was talking before about you know the pace that IOHK and everybody develops Cardano,
and and you know, really that's a blessing in disguise because. You know, especially if you look at
where Cardano is and where Midnight is, we're preparing to launch all the conversations,
everything that Charles has done as it relates to the government
and the you know the regulatory bodies that are going to be playing significant roles
in what's going to come and what's changing about the space. And it's
like we couldn't be positioned better as a blockchain, especially an interoperable blockchain
that with all of the functionality that that Cardano offers, and then Midnight on top of it. So,
you know the private financial transactions. Thinking of midnight as a privacy layer for Bitcoin,
XRP, you know any of these blockchains that that want to utilize it in partnership to some extent,
I think is going to be a really big deal. And another one is medical record storage and sharing.
Which I think is going to be a big, big deal because you know the medical field today is so rampant
with you know it's all the burden's always on the patient to locate their records, trans,
have them transferred to this doctor, that hospital, or this place or that, and and it's just
like you're sending your entire life story in a lot of cases, and a lot of that I'm doubting much
of that's very secure. So using midnight for things like medical records is going to be a big deal.
Trade secrets and intellectual property protection, privacy preserving in DeFi applications,
obviously is going to be a really big deal. I mean, effectively, how many different data breaches
do we have a year amongst all of the major social media platforms? All of the,
we have so many data breaches nowadays that I almost feel like it's by design.
Like I almost feel like it's a legal way of selling everything that they have on all of us
and saying, "Oh, sorry, we got hacked," and then it's ignored the next day. Because if they came out
and said, "Oh, well, we're selling all this information to people,
" then obviously everybody would be more up in arms. And I think it. I think
we're going to start seeing, you know, once this all really starts kicking.
I would love to see X be the first. I really don't know what's happening with with Elon and Charles.
I don't know if they don't like each other or I don't know what. But there's really no reason
why X shouldn't be utilizing Midnight to to protect the privacy and the data on on X personally.
And I do think it's going to be telling in the future which major applications,
which companies utilize data like this. As Seth was explaining the use case
behind zero knowledge proofs and and all of the capabilities associated with that, you.
You know the companies that really want to protect us and protect their users from disruption,
from hacks, from data breaches, and things of that nature are going to utilize technology like this.
Regulatory compliant enterprise data sharing, which is obviously going to be a big deal. Nonprofit
and community operations, sponsored e-commerce DApps, cross-chain asset bridging
and interoperability, which is already happening. Decentralized governance and voting,
which is happening. Capacity leasing marketplace, and this is going to be the thing that this is one
of the things that got me the most excited when I was reading through the white paper
because we're going to start seeing brokers. Maybe Seth will become a broker.
I would totally work with him on this. He needs to do this. Like we're going to see brokers
that are basically going to take, you know, the the you know, if I've got X number of night tokens
generating a certain amount of dust, and you know, maybe there are like five
or a hundred different individuals, and combined, our dust output is going to equal
the the requirement of a new application, whether that's DeFi or whatever application that needs
that dust to operate. They're going to have to buy that from somewhere. They're
either going to have to obtain acquire the the night tokens themselves that generates that dust,
but if they can't get their hands on that, because I do believe Given the interoperable nature
of Cardano and all of the applications, the chains, the throughput, everything that that dust
is going to be used for, I don't think there's going to be that much going around,
and I think that's why that, and which also leads me into the the airdrop
and the timeframes for you know being able to get those allocations. But outside of that,
we'll touch on that later. But yeah, I mean, I think that. This capacity leasing marketplace.
This is going to be a really big deal, and it's it's almost going to be like everybody is
a staking node. Like everybody's everybody's going to be able to utilize a passive return
on their night tokens because of all of the applications that need. The yield
from those night tokens to run their applications, and I think it's going to be very empowering
for people in a lot of ways. And I do believe we're going to start seeing brokers competing with
each other for for rate for all kinds of stuff. So I find that fascinating.
And if you want to take it another level further, when we're looking at all
of the banking institutions that are like we just saw, PNC is going to be getting into crypto,
and and all these banking institutions, think of all of the ways that these banking institutions
are going to be able to utilize the yield of blockchains like Cardano and Midnight
for their customers. And you know maybe you're a Cardano holder and you're going to generate
a passive yield. The bank is custodying it for you rather than you get the yield.
Maybe it goes directly into paying your mortgage every month. Maybe you know your the the bank
starts acting as a broker for for midnight and you know your yield for your night tokens that
you own and hold and aren't selling, but that dust is being farmed out to all
of the banking institutions that are trying to privacy your your transactions
and all of their throughput on chain. I mean, there's so many things
that are going to be happening with this, and when you When you read through the white paper
and you see the tech and you you see how it's broken down and how it's going to change
so many things in the next decade, it it's it's kind of difficult to not get really excited,
knowing we're at the very very beginning. Like we've taken step one into that direction,
and we're all like the the pioneers of this and watching it unfold in front of our eyes,
both legally, in terms of regulation, the technology, everything. I find it a very exciting time
to be around. Yeah, yeah, Seth, go ahead, man. Yeah, I was just going to say,
in in before multi-chain privacy bridge. When when you or a friend wants to build this, call me.
Okay. Let's go. There you go, making business deals right here. We love it. So so, cro?
Do you do you see you know like on a lot of layer twos that some of the protocols built on them,
their token is way more as far as price goes, way more than the the layer two token.
Do you see like midnight becoming? Even bigger than actual the A token. That's hard to say,
but I I can say I mean I get there's it's possible honestly because the supply is lower.
I think the demand is very likely going to be very very high because if you think of all
of the institutional use, the I mean just all of the use associated with midnight.
And the demand for the night tokens to create the the dust that they need to operate. I mean,
this is going to be very interesting to watch. And what I'm actually curious about, um,
and I guess I'll touch on this now while we're at it. Just the way the glacier airdrop is happening,
where you know you're you're going to have these thawing periods, right?
So like when you first connect to the application and you you make your claim.
You know you're going to have your first thaw, which 25% of your tokens are going to unlock within
up to like 90 days of that first thaw, and you're going to have it in phases.
You're going to have one, two, three, four thaws, and every one of those time frames,
you're going to unlock an additional 25% of your of your night tokens.
And and you're not like I said earlier, you're not going to just log in
and get all of your night tokens all at once like a lot of the like you know the the airdrops
everybody's used to, and then they take those tokens and immediately run out
and dump them on an exchange and try and make a quick buck for free, right? Ultimately,
causing the tokens to tank and all this other stuff, and I don't really think that this is—I mean,
this is to some extent, I think, to limit a lot of that because they're not just
a. It's going to force people to take some time to understand what the the network is going to do
and the demand for those tokens, right? You know, Charles said that he expects it to be like
a ten billion dollar market cap for these tokens. Well, how is it going to get there? Well,
part of that is by lengthening the term by which people are able to acquire the tokens to begin
with, because there's it's a multi-chain drop. So you've got you know your Solana people
and your Ethereum people and you've got all these people and all this tribalism, right?
How many of those people are just loving and looking for the opportunity to get a freebie
from Cardano and tank it and dump it? And you know there are a lot of people out there out
like that. This is going to prohibit them from doing that in mass. For one, number two,
I think it's going to force an opportunity for people to look at this technology
and understand its use and the token's actual value over a lot of the other tokens in the space
before they have the opportunity to try and dump it and tank it, make big mistakes.
Because I do believe dumping these tokens is going to be a huge financial mistake on anybody
that does. That's just my personal opinion. It's not financial advice, folks.
But I think this is going to be a major, major token. Yeah, for sure. I mean, I I think that,
and and just just a heads up, Billy says he's having some trouble still on his end, as far as audio.
So if we rug again, we'll we'll I'll restart us and get us going, just so that everybody's aware.
But you know, what do you think of the connection to XRP as far as the ledger there,
and and making sure that they we're having that midnight DeFi bridge to XRP?
Is what is what's the significance that you see of that? I mean, you know,
I don't even think it's possible to quantify the use potential for this.
As it relates to all these different chains, we're not just talking about, you know,
a privacy layer for one chain. You're talking about a privacy layer for the biggest chain
in the world, right? And then you've got XRP, which is obviously growing.
You've got all of these guys, all of the CEOs of the of these chains from XRP and and Solana
and all of them. They're all gathering at this roundtable talking about policy, right? I mean,
there's so many different things that are happening right now behind closed doors,
and we're just getting little. Glimpses through a window or through a keyhole, rather,
as to what they're talking about and what's being planned and what kind of what's coming.
And as it relates to something like Cardano, basically being the smart contract layer,
the brain for a lot of these, you know, more centralized currencies or centralized chains like XRP.
You know, maybe hey, maybe if Solana is lucky, like Cardano and Solana work something out
where Cardano acts as a backup for Solana when it crashes, right?
And like maybe there are opportunities that Cardano is able to help fill in some of the gaps for
for something like Solana. Moving forward, and maybe we're able to start protecting some
of the Solana transactions using Midnight and making them, you know, protection protected.
Like there, there are a lot of different things that I think are going to happen.
How big does it mean as it relates to like XRP? It all depends really on what they release
and what they say they're going to utilize XRP for on the grant. Is it going to be purely
like a centralized remittance token that they're going to use to kind of replace? Excuse me,
Western Union. And like, are those transactions are they going to be private?
Is privacy going to be like an add-on service? You know, like maybe I don't want my wife to know
I'm sending my mistress, you know, five hundred bucks for that little coat she wants.
So I'm going to send it to her through Western Union and use an XRP. And I'm going to use
my Midnight as a privacy layer, right? Like I'm going to protect it so there's no record of it.
Obviously, I'm being funny, but like those are the kinds of things that
I think we're going to start seeing all the time. And maybe it's like, oh, for an extra two fifty,
you can protect this transaction so nobody knows you made it. You know? Yeah,
I think it's going to be huge. I was listening to to Charles, like I said,
conversation earlier today, and you know he he talked about you know
that just about every cryptocurrency or crypto token out there project really has
its its adversarial to other other currencies because you know they're not as interoperable
and and even though the goal maybe should be interoperability, it it's either I'm going to put
my money in Bitcoin or I'm going to take it out of Bitcoin, maybe put it on Cardano,
or if I'm going to take it out of Cardano, put it you know basically you have
people are having to switch to different tokens because it. The business model was set up like that,
and and this seems to bring it to more of a, and and he talked about bringing it on board
to more a win-win type situation for the different blockchains, so that really we can have adoption
and growth into to further to further blockchain technology outside of just maybe
our stove-piped sections at the moment. Right. And mind your biz. I do see your hand up. Of course,
you can jump in anytime. Oh wow! I think that that may have been artifacts from before.
I think X cases is still rugging here, but but but no. I mean, as far as the the applications
and and yeah, getting out of the silos, I'm a big fan of that. I've said publicly
on numerous occasions that Bitcoin is Bitcoin is Bitcoin is an interesting asset,
but when you wrap it and you put it onto a smart contract capable platform like Cardano,
and now hopefully like like Midnight Network soon. Maybe you can wrap, you know, wrap it
and and keep it privately and and permissionlessly. But when you wrap it
and you place it into a liquidity pool against the the base asset in the way that you can say create
a liquidity pool of wrapped Bitcoin and ADA, it it becomes literally interesting.
It actually bears interest. It bears yield. So yeah, I'm a huge fan of taking some of the best
of both worlds and then and then benefiting from it. I mean, these things.
We we came up with some of these these like borrowed some of these concepts from traditional finance
for a reason right some of these things we always talk about traditional finance like it's like it's
thoroughly broken and you know that's like the difference between confusing confusing capitalism
with cronyism right like fundamental misattribution now like there are elements
of traditional finance that are totally not broken. And that we absolutely do want to recreate in
in cryptocurrencies and on blockchains. So so yeah, the idea of being
able to bridge permissionlessly other assets into the Cardano ecosystem in a more permissionless
and private way, I'm really excited about the prospects there because there are solutions
that have promised this in other ecosystems. Some L zeros I won't mention them here,
but they just they failed to execute. So if the Cardano ecosystem can do this slowly, methodically,
and correctly, then you know I'm going to be I'm going to be right there at the finish line. Like,
all right, all right, all right. End of this marathon. Are we there yet? Awesome. Now,
now we're now we're really onto the races. Amen, brother. Just real quick, everybody,
do me a personal favor here. Go to cryptocrow.io. Get involved with what he's got going on
over there. When you go to cryptocrow.io, you're going to love the layout, man.
What Crow's done there. The way he's broken this down, I think, and I told you this, Jason.
I I think it's the way of the future for like creators because a lot of people are talking about
getting off YouTube and the algorithms and stuff. But what you, I think you're ahead of the curve.
But if please, if you guys are around a computer, go check it out. He's a friend of the channel.
You you surround yourself with the right people, the people that are in it for the right reasons,
and and Crow is one of them as well as Mind Your Biz. So please do that for me.
We're talking tonight about Midnight, twenty four billion night tokens minted on
the Cordano blockchain and mirrored on Midnight, and we're getting into all the nuts
and bolts of this thing. Did we get into the deflationary side of this yet, Crow? I mean,
I'm rugging here, so I hear bits and pieces, and I don't even when I talk if you guys hear
my full sentences or not. But did we get into any of that yet, Crow? Not really.
Do you want to hit on some of that? Just because I think that's a big part of what.
I think that's a cool aspect of it. I mean, like you said earlier, and we were getting to
that point, which was, you know, maybe midnight will. Will out outperform price wise,
maybe even Cardano. It's it's like you said. You get so emotional when you read everything that
this thing's going to be able to do and how it's going to be used. Not another one of its features
is the deflationary model. I think that's pretty significant. To be quite honest with you,
I don't even remember the details about the deflationary nature. Maybe Seth does. I have to go back
and look it up again because I don't remember. It was it was something around three percent annual,
and and maybe maybe Sir Lost knows about that. But like when it came out,
I remember hearing the twenty four billion, and I remember hearing the deflationary model,
and of course the what Seth was getting into the it being a like a a dual token model between night
and dust, and so, you know, a lot of these tokens that don't have any type of deflationary aspect
built in. I think it's a huge utility, but for some people it might not mean anything, right?
Everybody comes into this with their own little spin, right? Like what's important to them
with different tokens and coins and things. So that was one thing that popped out for me,
and and then the cult claiming aspect of it, and we got into that at the top of the hour.
But a lot of people are in Cardano, they own Cardano, but they just really don't know what to to do.
And you hit on that, Crow, as far as hey man, store it in one of your Cardano wallets,
and the snapshot taken on June eleventh. And hopefully, if you had your your Cardano in there,
then you're going to be one of the the participants. And I think the number
was what thirty six million. Is that what it was, Crow? I can't remember. Like, well,
there's twenty four twenty four billion total tokens. Fifty percent of them are going to
Cardano holders. I'm actually I'm looking up the because I I didn't remember
the like deflationary elements of this out of the white paper, and I and I went back
and I'm looking at it, and there's there's no built in deflation or supply reduction. There's
disinflationary issuance leading to zero inflation. Block rewards mechanism, uncirculated tokens.
Unless you're talking about like there's the dynamic pricing model for for that.
I don't know if you're maybe thinking dynamic or deflationary. Yeah, that was the piece
when I read it that I was like, wow. Um. So there's there's a there's a lot of different stuff
related to that. Self-regulating stabilizer. Where did I go? The mechanism by which this operates
can be described as a dynamic pricing. When demand for block space increases
and blocks begin filling beyond the 50% target, transaction fees start to rise.
The increment in fees continues until the cost becomes prohibitive for some users, who then opt out,
causing a reduction in demand. So it's it's like it's like self-regulated with dynamic pricing
around like block space, which is actually pretty interesting. I found that really interesting.
Yeah, and I just found a little piece from like I don't know when I pulled this up,
but it says block rewards are issued from a reserve
with an initial three percent annual inflation rate, decreasing exponentially over time to ensure
long-term sustainability. Yeah, that was, you know, I think to your point is all this cool stuff
that built into this. There's so much. I like the decay nature of the dust tokens. That to me,
I found pretty pretty cool. Like you're not just going to be able to, you're not going to be
able to. Create a whole bunch of dust tokens and then sell them off, right?
There's going to have to be a system in place to utilize the dust as you're you're
you're creating them on chain, and like I I found that pretty cool. There are
so many different protective measures in place for this, and you can tell like I I don't know
if it was just Charles, I don't know like I remember when I told Charles I'm like dude I just read
this white paper I'm like this is one of the coolest things I've ever read,
and he's like yeah this is definitely my best work. So I'm like, okay,
did you write this whole thing? Like, are you are you solely responsible for coming up with this,
or did you have like a board or what? I didn't get into it, I didn't push it, but I mean,
it's just like every page of this white paper is like there's so much to it though.
It's kind of hard that you have to read it like 15 times to really let it all sink in.
So I probably sound like I know a lot less than I do because I don't remember every little nuance
anymore. But yeah, I mean, there's just so much to it. Yeah, I would encourage literally,
I would encourage everybody to go read the white paper because it's not a It's 45 pages,
but it's not a super dry read in the sense like you read a lot of white papers
and it's so full of like formulas and techno gobbledygook, and it's it this white paper is not
like that. It's very like normal language, but it's very easy to understand
and it's easy to understand the reason why so many of these things were done. Yeah, indeed.
And Crow, you know, with this night token airdrop, so all these, you know, of course,
fifty percent of that going to ADA holders. Do you think that this is going to encourage
more encourage more Cardano users to get involved in the governance, not only for Cardano itself,
but also for Midnight? Because obviously, you know, we know, maybe the others don't know quite yet,
but that you're a D rep for the Cardano community and voting on on different actions
and governance actions. So you think this might help maybe people get more involved to understand
the depths of that? You know, I'll be honest with you. I hope so because, yeah, I'm a d rep.
I'm like the what the sixth largest d rep in the world, and I'm just one guy.
And I I'm pretty sure the only groups that are larger than me are all the companies like Eternal
and and uh. I think the only thing the only guy that's bigger than me is Yuda,
which I'm pretty sure is like a very wealthy Japanese guy that was like in first.
You know what I mean? Like so. It's like, and I appreciate everybody's trust and commitment
and all of that, but you know, at the same time, I'm one guy,
and I I ultimately just get spammed with everybody and their mother messaging me, Hey,
just wanted to say love your work, love everything you do, would really love for your support
if you would check out our proposal, and then they link me to their proposal.
And it's like everybody's pitching me these proposals, and I'm like, you know,
I wish I had a staff to field a lot of this stuff, because you know, it's it's treasury time.
Everybody's trying to get real rich off of these proposals. You know, everybody's got an idea
that was submitted, and so they're all looking to me, and they're just hitting me up.
And it's just like I wish there were more D reps, and I wish there were, I wish we had
more D reps that were even better than me, because you know there are some out there that
I think are really, really good. Like Chris is a Chris is really good.
There's unfortunately we lost Ada Whale. Hopefully he like I don't know like go takes a trip
an ayahuasca trip and like you know finds more truth and meaning and decides to come back.
I feel like everybody that has these issues with Charles for whatever reason they just kind of like
jump ship. And I'm like, listen, I've had my issues with Charles. I'm in the middle of a little.
Whatever you want to call it with him right now, like it's like I've been I've been talking to
Charles on and off for years now, and it's like I feel like everybody takes so many things
so personally, and like we we really can't as an ecosystem allow. One instance, or this issue,
or that issue, to end it all for anyone, right? And I, I think that's where we're at right now.
I think we're in the we're in the height of the beginning of like an altcoin season.
The stress levels are high. We've all witnessed or seen things that rub us all the wrong way.
All that is opinion, and you know, like opinions are are everyone has one, right?
And I I find it sad in a way where some of our biggest community players can so easily be thwarted
or shut down or you know, dispirited because of an interaction or because They think this way,
and maybe this person thinks that way, and I find it—I don't know how to say it other than I find
it very immature. Like it's like we're all grownups, right? Like let's all focus on what we're here
for. We're not here for char Charles, right? We're here for what Charles has created. The same way,
like you can feel any way you want to about Steve Jobs, but I still love my iPhone.
You know what I mean? I still love his creations. And and it's like and that's okay, right?
Sometimes you have to separate the creator from the creation and respect the job that the creator
has done, but you don't have to necessarily believe the same way politically
or have the same opinions or or even have to like the person. It just it is what it is,
and I find a lot of this negativity and the back and forth and a lot of the the the just the crap
that I see on X all the time going back and forth. It seems to be waning
and going down as people start seeing a light at the end of the the altcoin market tunnel, right?
But I want to see the number of D reps go up. I want to see more people with a voice rise up
in the Cardano ecosystem, so that it doesn't feel like such a big loss if we lose one person
or another. We're effectively the the Congress for a country that is Cardano,
and I think we need a lot more people involved in its governance than just a handful of us with all
of the voting power. And we're all being slammed by people trying to cash out on the ecosystem,
right? Let's all share that burden a little bit. But yeah, I would love to see midnight,
and not just midnight, because you know I know this is all about midnight,
but we have to understand that Cardano is really just starting to come into
its own as well right now, and and we can get into that, Crow. Yeah, yeah,
we can get right into that. Yeah, I just I just think we're we're really entering a new era
for blockchain, and I think a lot of the trash is going to really start getting filtered out,
and and like the the leaders of the tech space as it as as it relates to blockchain
are really going to start rising up. I think a lot of These are are are part
of the digital asset reserve. We're supposed to be getting more information about. I think tomorrow,
if I'm not mistaken, which is going to be a pretty crazy deal. And yeah, man,
I I feel like being a D rep is very empowering in a lot of ways. But I feel like we should have
five thousand D reps, not like a top twenty or a top thirty. Even Congress has
more people than that, and we're talking about an international interoperable blockchain
that's ultimately going to be. Be the underlining layer to the vast majority of like IoT
and AI services on a global scale. Like we need more people involved. So yeah,
hopefully Midnight does you know attract more people, and hopefully Midnight brings some
of these people from these other. I I I knock Selena all of the time because I'm a little bitter.
But it's like you know it's obviously not going anywhere. They've paid so much money to be a part
of every conversation. So congratulations to them. They're likely not going anywhere. You know,
you've got XRP, you've got all of the different assets associated with this midnight airdrop,
and I would love to see some of these people from other chains who have a different perception as to
how their blockchain works, what they see their blockchain acting as a use case for
in the real world. Get some of these different ideas and these ideals
so that we can all communicate them effectively amongst each other. And and just you know,
let's just start growing together, man. And yeah, I'm hoping that some of these people
start coming on board and and enlisting themselves as as like a Cardano D rep.
I think that would be a huge deal, and I'd support it. I share stuff of other D reps all the time
on X. I talk about them on my channel. I'm not trying to hoard all the power here.
I really think we need to grow. Yeah, so I mean, outside of Project Catalyst,
which which lets Cardano holders vote on community driven driven projects to fund from the treasury.
For those that might be interested in in taking a step towards learning more, you know,
even just being knowledge more knowledgeable about governance, but even those that might want to
to step into that that role or see how they can, what is a good way to for you know what what
what tips do you have for them to maybe start approaching that or you know dipping their toe in
so that they can maybe find a way towards understanding how how to get involved in a way
that could be meaningful. Well, I mean, becoming a D rep is actually pretty easy. I mean,
it's it's so easy a caveman can do it. Like it's it's pretty simple. The the real there's
a low threshold of Cardano you have to hold, right? But yeah, it's like 500 or something.
It's nothing, and you know, from there, it's just about creating and and exposing your voice.
What do you believe? What do you think? You know, going through different proposals,
understanding what's being proposed, sharing your insight, your thoughts on that kind of stuff,
and and really just and this is why I talk about people from other blockchains because.
These the different ecosystems I've noticed have completely different rationales for for them,
right? Like a lot of us Cardano people were like long term, you know, buy low, hold forever,
and you know, how's the tech gonna change the world, right? And then you've got people
from this ecosystem; they're all about making the quick buck, and maybe their investors
or their traders, and they're you know they they look at problems in a different way
and how to solve them in a different way. I think everyone has. Their own kind of mindset, right?
Which is what a why I think the tribalism is so strong. You've got your your shirts, your skins.
You've got everybody's kind of different, different hive minds, if you will, to an extent.
And I think that there are champions of all of these different blockchains out there, right?
You've got you've got people who are big, big Solana bulls, and they're they're you know Solana
or or death. You know, you've got people that are Algorand or people that are XRP, the XRP army.
That there there are so many of these different ecosystems with big voices.
And I think those big voices should become D reps for the Cardano ecosystem
because what happens with Cardano is effectively going to change a lot of the ways
those other ecosystems function. And and and how Cardano benefits these ecosystems that they're
so passionate about. Why are they not d reps on the Cardano ecosystem yet? I don't understand that.
And why are they not empowering themselves through their communities with these other change
by becoming d reps on Cardano? They absolutely should. They should share in the power.
They should share in the decisions. They should share in how the Cardano ecosystem changes
and grows because it's going to affect the change that they are so passionate about.
So I would definitely like to see more of that, and it's as easy as just getting into your wallet,
you know, and and just clicking a couple of buttons, and then telling everybody, like, hey,
I'm a D rep now. I just click these buttons, and here's my D rep ID, and and it's that simple.
And then you just start voting. You could go to Tempo and start voting if you want to try
and brave government card or. I've already blocked the URL out of my brain
because it never works for me. Gov tools, the site just never works. But you know, I use Tempo now,
and it makes things a lot easier. And yeah, and just start participating, you know,
and then sharing your voice about what you voted and how and why, and and let
people start recognizing you. And I just think that's the easiest way to grow it.
You can do it on X, you can do it on YouTube, you can do it on articles on your blog or Reddit.
There's so many different ways to propel yourself as a d rep in this ecosystem. Yeah, yeah,
and you know, Crow for me, when you're talking about the other blockchains. I mean, I'm an investor,
right? So I, I'm, I'm invested in. I have investments in Solana, in Ethereum, in XRP.
From an investments standpoint, I'm in all of those. But like my home, for me personally, is
and where we build at, and where I think is is something that's bigger than all of those.
Just my own personal opinion is Cardano, right? So like the whole mindset behind it,
the the security feature of it, like thinking from a very macro place in the very beginning,
starting out. Touching the the countries that couldn't be touched and trying to help,
be a servant to the world and and and that's Charles's mindset through blockchain.
That kind of touched me, right? So now for on the investment side, and you you were in way
before me, but I mean I I I think Cardonals like everybody's asking when when the when the run is.
I mean. There was all kinds of opportunities for me buying it. I don't know, twenty cents
or you know, seventeen cents back in the day, and for for you probably a lot less.
But but it ran up to three bucks, and you know, I made I made some profits.
So like Cardonal's been a good profit center for me for all these years. But you have to know
when to to take some profits and. And so is Solana, though, and so is Ethereum. And and really,
look how long I waited. We waited for XRP, right? I mean, XRP, heck, you couldn't even trade it
on Coinbase for a year and a half, or how long it was, you know. So, like,
the investment side is one one feature, one aspect that we all. I always say we come into crypto
for profit, and and if you stay, you know, you stay for the people, or you stay for the tech,
or you stay for you know making a difference. You know, that's what you stay for typically.
And of course, Bitcoin has its own narrative, right? I mean, Bitcoin's Bitcoin, but But yeah, man,
I think you're right about the mindset with everybody. It's just all different. Like Solana,
you know, they came in that space, they came in that game for retail users, making it very swift,
very easy, very, you know, user friendly to not just launch tokens but also to be able to buy
and sell them. You know, and there was a little bit of learning curve with Cardano when I
when I first started. You know, there's one quick point that I want to put in everyone's mind too,
and and and that's market cap, and. You know, everybody knows. You know, Trump
and you know the people in this administration. They keep talking about
how we're we're about to see a ten trillion dollar influx into the Cardano or the crypto market,
rather. Sorry, and and everybody assumes that that just means we're going to have
a ten trillion dollar market cap in crypto. But the reality is, is slippage,
because there's not enough of these assets available on over the counter platforms.
And so I asked Grok. I said, "If we had a ten trillion dollar inflow into the crypto market space,
what will the actual market capitalization become, taking into account slippage?
" And it basically said we'd be at about thirty-three point eight five trillion dollar market cap.
Now, let's assume that even half of that was true. What do you think is going to happen with
Cardano? And midnight, when Cardano becomes the smart contract layer for a lot of the key assets
that are, you know, absorbing that are high dominance in that eco in in all of
of all these ecosystems, absorbing a lot of that market cap. How do you think
that's going to play into the Cardano market cap? So it's like what
people are witnessing right now is literally, and I I generally hate the the the use of the word
literally. I hear it now in the in the younger generations. They everything is literally, but.
We're we're really witnessing the the very beginning footsteps of an extremely powerful transition
out of the old world and into the new. And anybody that doesn't believe
that Cardano isn't going to play a significant role in all of that as an underlining layer to a lot
of these blockchains, I think they're crazy. And so, yeah, you know, the more people
can really start reading up on this stuff and understanding the tech behind Cardano,
they'll understand why we generally laugh at a lot of the trolls making nonsensical claims.
So there's supposed to be this big meeting tomorrow, right? Do you think that might help solidify
that Ada is going to be or Cardano, excuse me, is going to be part of the U.S. Holdings again?
Do you think that might have some impact? I'm not aware of any conversation where it's been taken
out. Gotcha. But yeah, I mean, I think it's going to be a really big deal when all this stuff
comes out, and and hopefully that. I mean, we know Charles was just in D.C. Last week.
I don't know if he's still there, but I, you know, we know he's working, and you know.
I think tomorrow's going to be a very interesting day. I'm, I'm, I unfortunately exited
a long trade. I got into Bitcoin though at like one fifteen eight, and now I'm waiting
for the CME futures gap to fill. So I'm hoping that Asia sends this thing tanking before tomorrow
because I don't want to. I've already exited that trade, hoping to get in lower. Yeah. So you know,
we'll see. Well, I know we have several speakers on stage. Obviously, mind your business here.
Risk Gaming Company and Sir Lost, and also our team, Dave Digital, Redman, Jimmy.
I don't know if you guys want to come up and ask some questions. I'll start with Dave Digital,
Redman, and Jimmy, and then maybe we can get over to Risk Gaming and Sir Lost again. Sure, man.
Thanks, Crow, for coming. Appreciate it. Yeah, so we have a a pretty cool audience,
a pretty cool community, and so maybe the person that would be the first person that you can add to
your team, as as you know, from the d rep side, you said that you you really wish you had a team.
What what qualities would you look for in them, and why would they want to be on your team?
Talk to them. Well, I don't. I was half joking about a team in the sense that because of of
because we don't have that many d reps. You know, my voting power is so high
that pretty much everybody that's looking for Treasury money is blasting me all across social media,
and I'm I'm like trying to field all of these requests, like please look at our proposal,
please give us your support, that sort of thing. So it's like I get so much of that right now
because we're we're coming close to the Treasury funds being awarded to every all the proposals
that are voted voted in. So I'm like you know, and I don't have a team you know to help with
anything. But really, rather than me building a personal team to handle a lot of that stuff,
I would really, I would suggest a lot of these folks just start building up their own rep as a D rep
and just start building themselves. You know what I mean? Building that way,
I do think that there's going to come a time when D reps are either incentivized
or paid in some sense, right? I can't imagine. You know, a governing body for a global blockchain
is going to continue basically volunteering. It's a lot of work. I mean, it really is a lot of work.
You know what I mean? You're going in, you're reading these proposals, and and you know, Yuda,
as I understand it, that guy basically reads every word, letter for letter,
and researches every little detail about everything before he votes. I mean,
he's the number one d rep in the ecosystem. So of course, you know. But I,
I definitely think everybody needs to. I wouldn't worry about me so much as just you know,
becoming a d rep yourself and and start sharing your opinion and your voice on that
and getting more actively involved. Yeah, maybe we're really close to the point
where AI can step in really as an assistant and read those and tell you what's important,
break them down for you, make it bite-sized. That'll really look really cool. In the background,
Billy was asking, "How do you make a decision on a project? You know, what matters the most to you?
" Whoever sends a courier with the biggest bag of cash gets my vote. It's basically how I operate.
Let's go. No, well, honestly, one of the first things I do is I look and see who else voted,
what way. And if there's a huge margin, then I try to figure out why. Okay, why does
why does this company like this? Why does that person like this? And then I just, you know,
I just do some digging. And you know, this first round, I've been much more loose with my vote
because we're in a build. We're we're the phase we're in is like I want to see everybody build.
I mean, I want to see everybody building, and it's it's difficult right now to try
and quantify the merit of of a lot of these ideas and how the money is going to be used
until they've actually had some and used it. And and like ideas are all over the place, right?
So I'm looking at a lot of these proposals and and you know a lot of the IOHK stuff.
I approved all of it, like because I'm sorry, none of us are going to be here without IOHK.
And and you know it's like let them do what they've already begun,
and I mean they've finished everything that they've laid out. It's it's a lot of money for sure,
but you know one of the things that in the next round. I'm not going to be as loose,
and at that point, I am very much going to be a hard ass because I'm going to look at everything
they accomplished previously with what they had, and you know, let's just say I anticipate
a lot fewer yes votes on proposals in the next round of this. But we're going to let people earn.
It's kind of like starting starting a new school with an A. It's up to you to keep it.
That's kind of how I'm looking at it. And yeah, I want to see more builders.
I don't want to shut anybody's dreams down. I don't want to shut anybody down.
I want to see what kind of effort they actually make. But there have been some
that I'm just not voting on, and and abstaining is just abstaining. But if you don't vote,
if I don't abstain, it's the same as it's the same as voting no. And and I think
that because we're getting closer to the line, and there are so many I have not voted no on
or or abstained from, that's probably why I'm getting blown up a lot more because there was like,
oh my god, you know, Crow hasn't voted. That means it's a no, and you know we got to like drown him
in messages. Yeah, and let me ask you this: so, what's the best? What's a better way to get
your attention? You know, rather than just flooding your DMs with, "Oh, we really love you so much,
even though we don't know anything really about you, we're just putting that in the top of our email
so it sounds like that you we really love you, but we really want some money.
" What is a better way to tell you about a project or to get your attention? I mean, you know,
honestly, I guess that's it. I mean, it's just communicating with me. But the problem is,
is that I get so much that it's it's still difficult. You know, I mean, I think the the best way.
For somebody to get my attention, rather than their like their like long-winded elevator pitches
that I'm getting a lot of, it's like, what are you changing? Like, just tell me in three sentences,
and then send me a link to like all of the the like your your drawn-out proposal, I guess, right?
Um, I don't need all the fluff. I don't need you to tell me that you're a big fan
or like any of that. I know you're full of shit. Like, I don't care. You know what I mean? Like,
just just give me the meat and potatoes, and and leave all of the the sides.
I'll get to everything as I see time. But yeah, I mean, it really there really is no other way
to get my attention other than probably to do what everybody's doing. It's just it's a lot.
That's all. It's a lot. Yeah, man. And last question for everybody considering seeing what
they can do about joining the D rep force and becoming a D rep and being you know contributing.
Is there a community for D reps? And are you guys close? Do you guys communicate?
Is that is that is it a tight knit community type fraternity type deal to
where you can lean on each other and understand what you're doing, how to do things? No,
but that's a good idea. Maybe I should start something. Yeah, I don't talk to any
of the other D reps. I mean, there's a few like on X, and and you know I've had I had one of them
on my channel. You know what I mean? But like we don't have any. Like I have
a private invite only group for pretty much all the YouTubers in crypto. You know what I mean?
But I don't have anything that I've set up for. For d reps, but that's probably a really good idea
because that would also be a really good way of, you know, projects that are worthwhile and have
good merit and history and things like that to to be exposed in conversation behind the scenes.
I actually think that's a really good idea. If there is something like that, I'm not a part of it,
but I don't think there is. Yeah, I think the best way to get somebody's attention,
like in a situation like what you're in, is just get the people around them to start talking about
your project. You know, really do something that's going to be impactful. Makes sense.
And I do think that you know, I think it would be. It it would make the door to enter
and d rep I think a little easier if there was some sort of a welcoming committee or fraternity
or a a group that supports you know I you know because some of us we don't know we we've been in
crypto and we know the number go up number go down we know trading
but we're just now starting to get involved in communities and and what's really behind the numbers
and the and the tickers so I think that would be helpful. I will say too that
and I've been talking about this with a couple of of people I've been working with for a while.
Is I really feel like you know, like when I was in the mortgage industry, you know,
we had so much compliance to deal with, right? If you're in anything related to finance, like
when I started, um, I set up like five Bitcoin ATMs back in the day, and I had to literally hire
a compliance officer to like monitor and manage everything the machines did.
And you know it's like it's a pain in the ass, but it's it's definitely a necessity. And I
and I'm looking at it now from a different perspective, and I'm looking at all of these these groups
and these people that are basically trying to get millions of dollars for their ideas, and like,
where is the accountability going to be? And I I was talking to to my friends
and one guy he's he's from out in L A and he's a high tech high level dev architect and all of that
and and he's like you know we came up with an idea where basically I might start doing it myself
and then maybe I will start this D rep group and like help some of these other guys start doing some
of the same things I feel like we should be advisors to some extent on these projects not
for the sake of getting our votes but for the sake of clarity of how money is being utilized on
the inside. Because there are so many of these ideas and so many of these projects,
and it's going to be so easy for people to lie and and just make up stories
and to say like whatever to the general public about what they're doing with these funds.
But if if if if these companies want my vote next term. Like I want to know exactly
where the funds went, what was the outcome of it, and I want proof. I don't want just
some slick Rick guy telling me, "Oh yeah, we did this, we did that. We're about to change the world.
If we can only just get this one last round of funding, we're gonna make everything happen." Like I,
you know, I'm not trying to like vote in somebody's new yacht, right? I want to know like
exactly what's happening, and I feel like we need some form of compliance oversight
with this treasury and who's doing what. And And I think I know to some extent,
Intersect is doing some of that. But I don't think they're monitoring everything,
and I know that there are going to be a lot of projects with no oversight at all. And you know,
I I am definitely going to start taking a more active role and in and trying to be that for
for as many projects as I can handle because I want to know where a lot of this stuff is going,
especially moving into the new term. Well, yeah, that makes a hundred percent. I mean,
I don't think you just keep giving people money if you don't see the results
and you don't know where it went last time that you gave them. Yeah, we did what you said
we were going to do. Trust me, bro. I don't think that works really well. And let me see.
I had one more question before I let you go. I don't remember what the last question was. Tony,
we'll go back to you for a second. I'll see if I can remember it. Sure. Well, real quick, Chrome.
Now we're going to reset the room. Welcome to Billy Goat Tales. Perhaps you're just tuning in
or checking out this space with Crypto Crow as we're talking about midnight and other things.
Cardano. We are a community for crypto enthusiasts on X to enhance personal and business leadership
and growth, coupled with blockchain and cryptocurrency discussions like we're having tonight.
We live out the givers gain philosophy, which is helping others to help themselves.
So please take a moment, shout out the space, click on that purple pill on the bottom right. Again,
people can join any crypto X space and hear a bunch of f bombs. We try to be different by design.
Ooh, hello! We try to be different by design. We're a family-friendly show,
so jump up on stage with us and go to the comment section. Make sure you take that poll that
Dave Digital put out. And once again, we're talking with Crypto Cro tonight,
a legend in the Cardano community, and obviously, as you just learned, he's he's a D rep.
If you didn't know that already, we're going up the Midnight Network and a little bit
about Cardano blockchain and talking a little bit about governments right now.
I'm going to take it around to some of our other guests on the stage to see if they want to bring up
questions for risk gaming or see. A lot more risk gaming. If you want to come up on stage,
and then of course I can kick it over to Jimmy Jim or someone else on the on the team. Hey,
thank you so much, Tony. Thank you, Beetle Go Tales, for having us on. Shout out to Jason,
Crypto Crow. I've learned so much about Midnight. I haven't even myself haven't haven't dug into
Midnight. I've been seeing the logo around and seeing hearing people talking about it,
but from based on this call here, I mean I've learned so much and getting me super super excited.
So I'm going to do a ton of research and get involved with Midnight. But yeah, I mean love Cardano.
Huge supporter. We we were born on Cardano. I'm not sure if anybody here's going to be at Rare,
but we do have a nice booth at Rare Evil on the main aisle. Going to be giving away a ton of mertes
from koozies to golf balls to lighters to what else? Beer openers. So we got
so much ton of free mertes to give away. Stop by our booth and just just being there
just to vibe out with the Cardano community. Getting to know the people in person behind the PFP
and and just showcasing the power of Cardano, power the power of builders that's out there.
You know we've you know we've gone through a lot of challenges through the bear market,
but we're we're still here. We're still representing and still building
and continuing to see the growth of future of Cardano. But yeah, thanks for having me on, Sir Las.
You know we're I don't know if he's still on here or not, but he represent our casino gambling side
of risk gaming. But other than that, I mean just hearing just love to hear more about the midnight
and and go from there. Hey Tony, I think I remembered my question. If that's good, yeah, yeah,
of course. Yeah, Crow. So just one last question. I appreciate everything that
you've you've done with us tonight. So I think you kind of touched on this,
but I just want to clarify. So as a D rep, let's say you become a D rep,
can you still propose a project and and apply for funding, or can you be a part of projects
that apply for funding still? So that's yes. The the answer is yes. But I, because you know,
some some folks know that we've been working on a game for a while, and I was in kind of a what
I felt was like a moral dilemma because I, you know, we needed like one hundred
and fifty thousand ADA like just to like finish the game and get it where we wanted to be
because I didn't want to cash out any of my ADA, my own personal Cardano,
and I'm like we're we're just we like needed some money to like get this thing done
and launched before the market really kicked off. And so I'm, and I'm like, you know,
do I submit my own application? Do I submit my own proposal just to get this?
Because it's not a lot, you know. I mean, we should be asking for like half a million ADA,
like everybody else would or more. But I just wanted to get what we knew we needed to like get
this thing done. And I polled people, and a lot of people were like, no,
you shouldn't use your own power to like benefit yourself directly like that, and this and that.
I'm like, I had a feeling that's what everybody was going to say. And then I had other people,
even at IOHK, they're like, like that's a part of it. Like, you know, why wouldn't you, you know,
use your power, like you benefit yourself, get something out of the gig, you know? So.
I ended up not doing it, and we never. We still don't have the funding,
and we're still waiting to like either Cardano to get to a certain price point
where I could just fund it out of pocket myself again, or like, or what? But yeah, like, can you?
Yeah, but like. I don't want to betray the trust of everyone that is like giving it to me either,
and I I don't want it to look like this like self serving system that I'm like milking.
So it's like I'm I'm sitting here approving proposals for people that are going to be getting like
tens of millions of dollars, and then I like talk myself out of submitting a proposal
for what was basically like eighty grand. You know what I mean? So it's kind of like a It's
a sticky situation. If I were an advisor for some of these projects, you know,
I feel like as long as I'm very open about every anyone that's been watching me on YouTube for years
knows that, like, I used to have companies pay me a Bitcoin to review their project and.
Knowing that it was going to like crush the relationship, I would flat out say like I think this is
a scam. Like I just like you guys need to stay away. Like I absolutely cannot be bought.
Like in that sense, so I'm not necessarily worried about that. I think everybody knows
that I have Cardano and and its holders' best interests in mind, and pretty much everything that
I do, even in some cases if it's to a detriment to myself
and and But I I don't know you know I mean I think I guess maybe that would be different
for everybody right so the long and short of it is is yeah you can there's nothing in the system
that says you can't but you might run into some moral snags or you know
public concerns you know depending on exactly what the nature of the relationship is
and and like what you're doing with it yeah that makes sense. Yeah, it's a fine line, right? You,
it's a little bit like you feel like, well, I'm in a a big spot, or you know, with voting authority,
but at the same time, you have a lot of things that you have to offer and that you're trying to
to bring into the space as well. So, that can be, you know, a tricky spot to be in. But you know,
we we have known and and had the chance to meet you, but also just seeing your journey
through the the the The YouTube space representing Cardano, and and then all of the other stuff that
you've brought to the table, and so we definitely hold you as someone who is true to their word
and and someone reliable to to bring the the truth, whether it's something we want to hear or not,
whether it's a project or or otherwise. So we always thank you for your your candor. Greenhorn,
I see that you're new on stage. If you want to come up and ask a question, go ahead
and feel free to do that. We're gonna, we're getting close to about 15 minutes out
from our the normal time we end, just to to honor our speaker and his time. So just go ahead
and come on up, and then we'll we'll ask Crow if he has any other things he wants to touch on. Yeah,
I just have a quick question. I just Opted in, so I'm not sure if that's been asked before.
I'm a bit worried about this midnight thing because apparently you have midnight to create dust,
and dust is for transactions. So I worry a little bit. Where is Cardano? Where do we use ADA?
Will that dust then be converted to ADA, or how does that work? Sorry if the question
was already asked, but that's been on my mind for days. Hmm, good question,
but I'm pretty sure they're separate entities. I mean, will there be throughput on Cardano
with the dust token? I would assume that you know what that's a really good question.
I don't know 100. Well, it should have. Well, it should have been like that, and I'm worried.
Like I see a lot of videos, and no one ever touched on it. Like normally,
and I understand with bubble fees that in the background ADA will always be used.
But if Dust is really like secret and hidden, how can ADA be used? So I'm a little bit worried
about that, but. But yeah, maybe touch on it in your future videos or something. I know you have
better connections than I do. Please point it out because yeah, I would be really,
really interested because yeah, I don't see how it would work because it sounds a lot like that dust
is the whatever currency to provide transactions. I'm actually I'm checking on this right now
because that is a really good question. Yeah, let us know. Okay, yeah, that's it.
Then I take my mic off. I'm pretty sure some other people have just the smartest questions.
That was a good question, Greenhorn. Thank you for that. Obviously, Crow,
you've you've done a lot of work, and you're using Grok, Grok 4, as you mentioned before.
I see that you had a. A post out there on your on your website that's the cryptocro.io.
I highly recommend, just as Billy does, for people to go and you have a seven day free trial
if people want to just kind of dig into some of the information that you have in there.
But you talk a lot about AI, and on one of the posts you had, it says, "I'm afraid for our future.
" There's two sides to usher us into the same line as AI and blockchain to prepare to take over
the world with less people needed. Right. As you're using AI maybe to help you dig into information
as we often do. I mean, we can touch on the the question that Greenhorn had,
or we can continue to see where some of the other things are. The answer I just got is no.
Dust will not work on the Cardano blockchain. They're completely separate entities. Wow,
that's interesting news, huh? So now we're supporting all the different blockchain. That's great.
It is integrated with Cardano as a partner chain. Cardano adapts through zero knowledge proofs
and cross chain mechanics for night. So I'm wondering if Grok is misunderstanding,
because I mean I've been feeding data into Grok so that it understands everything.
You know what I mean? It has everything about night and and all that. So,
it does look like it's midnight. It's I think it's just not out. So I don't think anyone touched on
it. I think back in the days, Charles said something that in the background Ada would be used,
but I haven't heard anything about it. And all the stupid videos you watch,
I watched all the information that came out. It was never touched on it, so yeah,
I don't think that Grok would know if nobody knows. Yeah, I honestly, if I think about
it realistically, though, how would Cardano be the smart contract layer for Bitcoin of all things
if its own partner chain isn't going to function on it? Like, if if we're going to be
able to use Bitcoin to interact with smart contracts and DApps and DeFi
and all of that in the Cardano ecosystem, I would have to assume you're going to be able to use
its own partner chain in the same way. I just don't think. Well, with Bitcoin, with Bitcoin,
I can understand that somewhere in the background you swap your Bitcoin for ADA,
you pay for transaction or whatever you have to do, like these Babel fees.
But once I send a what is it privacy transaction with dust. And it consumes my ADA out of my wallet.
Everyone would know where it came from. Can check my wallet, and all the privacy stuff is gone.
I'm pretty sure Charles and his guys thought about this. There is a great answer to it,
but it would be nice to know if ADA is consumed. Like, if not, then not. Like this is looking like.
Here, I'll read exactly what this says. No, Dust will not work on the Cardano blockchain.
It is a shielded resource specifically designed for the Midnight network,
where it is generated by Night tokens and used exclusively to pay for transaction fees on Midnight.
So it it it looks like that. What you it doesn't look like you're going to be you know settling
Cardano transactions using dust. No, it's its own network. It's its own yeah.
It's its own network doing its own thing for specific reasons. But I'm I'm wondering
if night itself will play any role on the Cardano chain at all. I don't know,
but it looks like dust itself is is going to specifically be with it like the
in the midnight network. Yeah, that's what I thought. Like your whole try to yeah.
I was just going to say, I suspect it's a great question, but I suspect
that part of the architecture that it was built out this way, because in in a similar vein, Litecoin
when they launched the MimbleWimble extension blocks, right, a parallel chain for for privacy,
as they saw, you know, they thought it would be a good way to architect their system.
Very different from you know the the value proposition of Midnight, of course.
But when they launched it, they launched it as a separate side chain, which yes uses Litecoin as
as the utility token for gas, but it was but it is a separate blockchain.
And I think that if anything, I mean I'm not going to put Boris into his mouth,
but it seems like any of the blockchains that have not had problems with regulation in
the United States and and across Europe for that matter, have been have been those that have
an entirely separate ecosystem for their privacy, and and I don't think,
and and any of the privacy solutions that have been innovated on the layer one, they've had
nonstop legal problems. Roman Storm is in serious trouble. The guys who created
the The Samurai Wallet and what's called the the Whirlpool Coinjoin ecosystem for Bitcoin Layer One,
the news just hit today that they are literally about to go into a plea bargain.
They're about to plead guilty, so they can get out of the legal trouble that they've been forced
into. Privacy is tricky, so I wouldn't be shocked at all if if what's going on here is that is
that the foundation is just saying like, okay, we we just want to make sure there's zero risk
of contagion for the main the mainline Cardano ecosystem. That makes a lot of sense too. Yeah. Yeah.
And then you know I I asked Grok as well how how will the three work together
and you know this is the quick and dirty that it gave me it says night holders generate dust
for transactions creating that privacy focused economy and that Midnight's interoperability
with Cardano and other blockchains will use Night as a governance bridge while Ada will secure
the main chain and support staking rewards so like I said that's just in some quick
and dirty research but it is a good point to consider something to think about. Well,
once it's only then it's a totally different blockchain. Why are we celebrating it then? Like just
because we get fifty percent of the delegation, then it's a new blockchain.
It's like any layer two on Ethereum. Then what I have to do with it? I rather stick to my Cardano.
I like how decentralized it is, how it works. Let me ask you a question. Yeah, sure.
If if and I'm not being a smartass or anything, but it's just I feel like it's the easiest way
for me to explain why I value it. If if you had a bank that that its primary reason to exist
were checking accounts. And you love that bank, but then suddenly they said, "You know what?
You're also going to be able to start doing wire transfers and savings accounts,
and it's all going to be a part of the same ecosystem within this company." Even
though it's not exactly the same thing, but it offers value and an extension of value to the
to the you know services that you already use. Would that not be worth you know being
a little excited about? Like you know, there are so many different analogies that you can use.
I get that you're saying you know
if Cardano is supposed to be the the big you know the the biggest thing out there,
why do we need another chain to add to it? But if you look at it, even even to Seth's comment.
It makes a lot of sense to to actually have this as a side chain or a partner chain,
but it's effectively all a part of the same ecosystem. And and you're talking about Cardano is
an interoperable chain that's going to be working with so many different chains.
I think it actually makes sense to have a kind of a separate entity, but one under you know
your control to an extent. But that's just my thought. I get where you're coming from,
and I think the the trust that we all have in Cardano will. Like turn over to the Midnight Network,
but there will be so many other layers. Then I find it, yeah, if true,
a little bit disappointing to be honest. But yeah, we will see. I'm pretty sure normally
when IOHK brings something out, it's top notch, everything is thought about,
and over way more corners than we all together think about. So I will keep an eye on that.
But I hear so like Cote back in the day started on Cardano, now they're on Ethereum. They have
private coins now, so that private layer doesn't seem to be or that. Fourth generation blockchain
shouldn't like doesn't seem to be that special anymore. But obviously,
it would be good to have midnight more working with Cardano or Ada. Otherwise,
we all just transfer to midnight blockchain, and who needs Cardano then, right? Like,
would be a shame. Yeah, I definitely understand both sides of that. That those points there,
you know, because when you are looking at value proposition, at least for me.
You you do hear a lot of repeating stories, right? So like in the you know just a year ago,
it was well we're faster or we're cheaper or we have you know better privacy or security.
You know it was it's really like five or six things, right? And everybody was finding their way
to get to that that spot as fast as they can, and there was like four or five,
maybe six different utilities that everybody was racing towards, right?
And I would say to your point, Crow. I kind of see it like you do. And again,
we're I'm I'm fully admit I'm Ada guy. I'm a little biased with this because I do believe
that when you add a utility that makes these things, these types of things, better for the user. So
whether you're coming on a little bit later than some of the other ones or not,
you're you're enriching Ada. You're enriching the ecosystem. So whether it's early or late,
I typically you know from an investment just from a Deejin play. Whether you're in the stock market
or whether you're in crypto. That early adopter, that early inventor that actually goes to market
and is first to market, yeah, there's a little, there's a little gain for you there a lot of times,
right? But it's often, it's often the the the the company that has thought out a lot of these things
that actually works and actually adopts, people get adoption to that, and more
and more users come on from that because it actually does what you're hoping it it's going to do.
And then as you add each level of additional utility, it just becomes bigger and bigger.
So I think there's always this race to You know, to keep up and to be the next innovator,
but that's exactly what I like about Perda. It's not really the one like we all heard
since we were kids, like the turtle wins the race, right? It's it's it's almost like there's a lot
of thinking, logic, applications, a lot of thought built into the infrastructure,
and it's not a race to just be first so you can say you're first so you can get a lot more users
and and make a lot more money. You know, so I actually appreciate that piece. Of Prada,
and it kind of fits more of my personality, with with how I think about business
and how I do business, right? But to your point, it's not that's not going to be for everybody.
That's you know, there's where like a chain like Solana comes in, right?
They they they want to be first. They want to be like their whole thing was user friendly, right?
User experience, like quick, fast, easy, user friendly, and they made huge gains with that concept.
And you know, so I think there's a little piece for everybody, is my point,
and it's not going to maybe be big news to everybody, but if you're really using the chain.
Using Cordano's chains, not just to buy the token and try to price go up kind of thing,
but actually using the chain. Personally, I don't think there's a better place that
that you could be. And so this ninth token is to me just another great feature of of
of what's going on in the Cordano ecosystem. But with that said, fully biased. I know I'm biased,
but just wanted to add that contribution to it. So I know we're getting towards the end
of our our normal time, Billy. I see that we have two hands up still. We have Chris O,
who's a Cardano D rep, and then Mind Your Biz. Do you want to just kick it over
to Chris O real quick? Yeah, Chris, come on up, man, and we'll get to you, Seth.
We'll get the easy for you. Anybody else trying to come up? We're we're hitting
our two hour time slot, which we normally end at. And of course, our guest Crypto Crow,
Jason Appleton. We'll make sure we give him some some final words and and be able to take us out.
But Chris O, come come on up. I appreciate it. Thank you. So I just wanted to add a little context,
and I think it's it's important to kind of give some perspective. And you know,
not not to talk down to anybody or be redundant because it may have already been said. You know,
I didn't join the whole thing, but the thing about Cardano is it was built to be
a true decentralized crypto, which means permissionless, fully transparent, like immutable. And so,
when you have a ledger that everyone can see, right? There is just some things that
real-world applicable just are not going to work. Right, because HIPAA, for example,
do you want your medical records fully transparent on the blockchain? So, when we look at Cardano,
we look at Midnight. It it is, it's not, it's an added layer. Cardano is the like a house.
It's the foundation. It is the foundation that is the root of trust. It cannot be corrupted,
just like Bitcoin. It is this is how it is, and it is secured by three thousand stakables. Now,
when you want to build real life stuff. Where there has to be some kind of privacy,
that requires an extra layer. You don't want your personal records. You don't want your trust funds.
You don't want your wills. You don't want your deeds of property. You don't want
your medical records fully transparent for the world to see. So that's where Midnight comes in.
But the thing is, it's not an either or. It's a and and both. In that Midnight is still secured by
Cardano. The validators are still Cardano's SPOs, and so it is a add-on. And in addition,
it is interoperable with the rest of crypto. So you know, so there was a gentleman
that was speaking before, and was you know sounded a little disheartened. You know,
was was this a pivot away from Cardano? No, it's not a pivot. It's an augment of Cardano,
because you can't have a truly decentralized crypto that's immutable, transparent, blah blah blah,
and then also at the same time be everything else. It's just not possible.
And so this is just an evolution plus one. And so I would, you know, respectfully ask everybody.
You know, to be open-minded in that this is not, you know, this is an evolution,
and so I think I think people look too narrow through the the aperture, um, and you know,
just the you know, there are there are some things that you don't want on the blockchain,
and I think midnight is the web two point five, to be honest. So anyway, that's my thoughts.
Well said. And mind your biz. Yeah, I wanted to keep it kind of simple. I, I, I mean,
I think that skepticism is always warranted. Look, what's the blockchain ethos? Trust but verify,
right? So, skepticism it should always be welcome. I love Chrislow's take also that that it is
a proposed augmentation. I'm just gonna keep it simple though, Greenhorn.
If if you really don't want your night and dust airdrops, send them to me. I'll stake them for you.
I'll send you yield, and I'll build something cool with it without having to bug the D reps
for a grant. Win win win win. But your night is going to decay by the time it gets to them. Yeah,
and I didn't. I didn't say that. I was just like. Just like Chris O said,
I I totally get that we need a privacy layer, but I thought it would be that we send night night
would be privacy, but we pay our transactions still in ADA. That's how I thought the ecosystem
would work. And you just have that extra privacy layer, but you still consume ADA.
That's how I thought. If it's not that way, it's not that way. I'm not this hard. But then for me,
it's just then. Let's say Solana is a side chain. Then it does the same thing.
Then like then I just use Solana and pay in Solana for transactions, or I use the Midnight
and pay in Night tokens. Like where is the? I understand that the stake pool operator still secure
the Night network, but I was just always thought whatever happens in the Cardano ecosystem.
We with bubble fees that was always praised, always going to consume ADA for transactions.
And I'm to be honest, I'm not even sure if it's not that way. Maybe it's a bit like a layer two
on Ethereum that you're going to use a lot of night, which is cheaper or dust,
and then it will get converted to ADA or whatever. Like it seems like nobody has the answer.
So it's like it's. I'm not against it or anything, and I definitely will keep my token.
And most probably because it's from IOHK, and I know where they come from. I trust these people.
I will still use it and be happy about it, but I just wanted to know if ADA is consumed in
the background. That's all, to be honest. Oh yeah, well that's that's a that's a definitive no.
But and and on the uh and on the the staking, my offer still stands. By the way,
the dust of course will will decay, the knight will not. So there's there's that.
But I think another useful and instructive example that we have just
from the broader blockchain development ecosystem, the broad the sort of broader crypto
and blockchain development communities is is Monero and Tari. Where they also have shared security
on their network, where they launched a new, and this is this is recent news.
I'm not going to shell them because there's nothing to shell. They they they launched to
very little fanfare. My point is just that there's an example of it being a thing that
that that various groups have done, and in the same way that if you look at in the proof
of work space, how Litecoin the way that it's mined, you can merge mine Doge.
You can receive both assets. So having a stake pool operator secure two chains,
this is not a this is not a new idea. It's not a unique idea, and it's it's definitely not
a bad idea. It's been used to great advantage before, because you you know you you it's
less wasteful. And the outputs are are at least that useful. We haven't we've proven over
the last ten years of merge mining Doge and Litecoin that there's no systemic risk from doing that.
So, so yeah, that's just to say they're they're plenty examples of both the shared security,
but then more recently shared security with a second chain that's meant to do
slightly different things. Even when you think the first layer does you know whatever
you wanted to do really well, there's there's yeah it doesn't it doesn't seem
like it doesn't There's always a yeah a good use case for for merge mining or shared security.
So good talk, fellas. Good talk. Good talk. Yeah, definitely. Yeah, we can we can we can we can wrap
up. Crow, thanks thanks for taking the time out of your your schedule. And everybody, please.
It's hard to find good people in the crypto space. We have a couple of them up here right now.
Mind your biz and Crow. And when I say that, I really, truly mean it. In the crypto space,
it's there's a lot of scammers out there, a lot of shillers. You got to find people that have
the right heart, that are really working for the right reasons.
They're just not always trying to sell you something, to shove something down your throat.
They're in it for the space, the love of the space, the love of the tech,
love of what they're doing. They want to help other people. And yeah, of course, in any business,
I always say if you start a business to solve real problems and help real people,
then you can be very profitable doing that. And but you always got to put the the solution
and the people first right and crow to me is is one of those guys so in a small little way
if we can help you guys go over and check out cryptocrow.io what he's given you in that information
over there is truly valuable I've been reading reading it and I just I'm just Shortcut.
When I saw your format, bro, just the format and the layout, I'm thinking in my mind a lot of lot
of YouTubers, a lot of creators are going to go that way. They're going to go to that
just that umbrella of you get to really know everything that's going on in the space. Plus,
you get to know the person behind it with different personal thoughts, whether that's spirituality
and mindfulness, personal development, leadership. Political, and and then you can make
your decision about. I always say, find your people, FYP, because when you do find your right
the people in your orbit in your world, great things can happen. And we talk about
these golden nuggets popping up in your path, just unexpectedly. And they do that
because you surround yourself with the right people that are doing the right things,
and good things happen. And and definitely. We've seen that happen over and over again at
Billy Goat Tales, and we wanted to share that. So, thanks for taking the time, bro.
It's always good to see you and everybody taking time out of your Tuesday evening to spend some time
with Billy Goat Tales. We appreciate everybody, and don't forget, we also every Sunday at 5 p.m.
Eastern Standard Time, we do a live YouTube show,
and we pretty much talk all things crypto there. So, with that, I'll kick it over you, Reunion.
Alrighty, well, once again, make sure you join us every Tuesday, 8 to 10 p.m. Eastern. One,
you can find us there live five to seven p.m. Instagram on Sundays. And you know,
if you like what we brought you tonight, and you want to hear more, come join us each week.
