Sorry, looks like the eggs dumped me, but I'm back. Can you listen to me well?
Please confirm with a like.
Well, good morning, everyone, or good night, good evening.
We are happy to share this space with a core region.
I think one of the keys to growth.
And, well, we will talk about node studio with some node
operators basically node studio is the place where we turn anyone into professional node operator
who keep this blockchain this technology up and running
and we believe in decentralization that's why why we built Node Studio. It isn't
just code, it's about geography also. Decentralization has so many aspects, and I think geography
is a very important one. And network is only strong if it lives in Lagos, Nairobi, and not just London, New York, and the well-known
capital cities. We believe in the power of frontier markets like Africa, so we are happy
to share this space with all of you guys. Thanks for participating, thanks for joining early. First, hi, Noni, Arteria, Michael, D, Sol, Crypto, Bull,
nearest Spanish, Margarita Cibeles, Unrobot, our team,
it's also here, Unrobot, Margarita,
are part of the Metapool team, Sky, Francisco. Here is also Viro, Bullock King, and Well.
Let's know a bit more of one of the speakers.
Meanwhile, the other speaker, if you can request the microphone,
will be great.
So, Rhys, I saw your job from being ambassador and now a node operator. I think you are growing a lot and helping Metapool to grow in your zone. How you also select your AKA like Reese is your real name or just an AKA that sounds cool or has a meaningful meaning for you.
Okay, GM, GM everyone. Please I want to know if my mic is audible.
Like, can you guys hear me clearly?
Oh, great.
Can you tell us how you decide to join the Nodes Studio?
Sorry, guys.
Can you hear me?
I'm having a little bit of network issue.
I just want to confirm if i'm
audible hello guys yeah yeah i i can listen to you okay okay okay um first and foremost um
Okay, okay. First and foremost, my Web3 ID, like my Web3 identity is raised, but in real life, my name is Daniel.
So, like you all know, I am an ambassador of Metapool, and I've been following everything about Metapool since 2023. So I believe my insights about Metapool being a liquid-staking platform brought
me to become a validator in SAN. Me understanding the fact that N protocol is a proof of stake
concessors blockchain and also seeing the opportunity that i can also be a part
i can also be part of this blockchain
i can also be part of this blockchain by becoming part of this program
so i saw the opportunity and i came for it. This is how I became a validator.
That's great. And for those who are not auto operators right now, you have the opportunity to file, to fill the form and apply to be an auto operator in case you are interested. Anyways, we will keep going deeper
into this conversation about Node Studio
so you can understand more the impact and technology.
So let's continue.
What does running a Node look like?
Where connectivity, hardware, or capital
aren't guaranteed for you Riz?
Okay, renting a node for me, based on my own research, requires a lot of or some hardware,
especially proof of stick consensus blockchain. you need hardware and you need skill
not just have risk you you need exceptional skill especially in coding so you need hardware
you need the skill and you probably need electricity to run those hardwares so this
those hardware so this is what i knew about running a node until i saw notes with you
so the partnership with metaphor and also you open my eyes to the possibility of running a node
without you know having the hardware or even having the knowledge of coding all you just need to do is
follow some simple instructions so to me running a node now has is now simplified thanks to no studio
instant so currently i know i probably already know how to run a node manually
probably know how to run a node manually but thanks to node studio everything is simple now
yeah basically for those who don't know uh node studio it's a platform where you with your simple clicks are able to solve any
technical issue like a great patch
That when some blockchains have new
patch for example, sometimes you call do a mistake if you
choose the wrong installation or
Do something wrong like It could be tricky sometimes. Also, if you forget
maybe to maintain some heat on your computer and some other technical things that requires a lot of
real-time effort, also technical effort. There are so many complications for those who maybe are just starting on this work or are new to the technical side.
So in this case, basically Node Studio solves all those barriers and helps you to be able just with the commitment of your time
just with the commitment of your time and basically stay tuned with any
update from Metapool team. Metapool team is supporting every time for all the
participants and we'll continue with the questions. When did you stop feeling like a participant
and start feeling like an operator?
For those who don't know, Ries was an ambassador.
So basically, Ries, I think, was an user before,
then an ambassador.
So it was a big journey.
He was like teaching and spreading knowledge all around his area.
And after that, when this opportunity appears, he decided to apply to be a Node Operator.
So in this case, any of you, if no matter how much you know right now,
you have the opportunity to follow this career as a path,
for example, like being user,
then maybe integrate yourself as build buddies or ambassador,
or just keep being user, but more active in the governance.
And then like find opportunities like this
like the node studio program i think will help you to get deeper in the knowledge of blockchain
itself not just metapool so in this case the new ecosystem and well metapool is not closing doors
to other networks in the future.
Who knows?
Maybe some surprises will come.
So let's continue with the questions.
And if you guys have any questions, feel free to put in the comments, please.
And also help us sharing with the q what retweet and would be nice if you comment the flag of your
country so we can know the impact of this space and also from metapool itself we always like to
know where are the builders that are sharing this space with us.
So we always get some great surprises and that also helps to enable more
opportunities for your country. So take that in consideration. And Riz, with all
this journey that you have, and the experience that you share,
what I think is very positive,
what changed around you after you started validating?
I don't think much changed, but one thing I knew was I became exposed.
I became experienced with how blockchain works, being a validator.
And I started using myself as an example whenever I'm speaking with my fellow Web3 folks.
I used myself as an example.
I tell them, you see, this is proof of work and this is proof of stake.
This is how proof of work works.
This is how proof of stake works.
And I searched myself on Near Explorer, my validator ID, and i showed them i said look this is near
protocol network because proof of stick and this is how proof of stick works i am also part of
proof of stick this is my id i am a validator so the whole experience for me has been
practical even though i'm not doing the practical work but it's fair it's it has felt
uh as if i am doing the practical work in fact i can tell someone who doesn't know that i am
actually doing practical work you understand so for me the whole experience for me has been
um has been felt i felt practical because now when i explain to my other folks
about decentralization i use myself as an example
that's that's great and yeah you your work uh had a really great impact uh we can't
that so thanks thanks for that metapol is really happy to have you also in
this program and i think for anyone especially from your region could be a great example of how
to get more opportunities like this so hello to the new uh the new participants, pretty real, sorry if I don't spill, well, your name, CSA also, hello, Michael Gmix, and well, great.
We also have some validator operator here, like30 announced great great to have you here feel
free to share some questions here or some ideas and share this space so going to the validators
economic reality for you Riz what surprised you about the economics of running a validator
What surprised you about the economics of running a validator?
Okay. First things first, I understand the workload required for proof of work originally.
And I also understand the workloads for proof of stake blockchain. So one of the things that baffles me is the,
you know, the running of the hardware,
the constant supply of electricity
to make the hardware run two for seven.
Right here, yeah, electricity,
electricity isn't something we have that much.
So one of the stuff that baffles us is how the machines are run two for several.
The electricity cost, the hardware maintenance, and also the software updates and so on.
So those are the main thing that excites me
when I see that, oh, even with this challenge,
the blockchain is still running, so for certain.
Yeah, well, I think there are a lot of opportunities
for a new ecosystem, not only just as infra technology but sometimes some things
i i like to to go deeper in this economic side not only just as the for example the mission of
rewards that we can get is if you see this like uh near technology as the future of AI or just as a great blockchain
tool to start to build, you can also think that when you invest, there is a risk when
you buy and sell.
But if you put a flat amount of money, for example, in this case, the monthly fee of Node Studio.
Basically, you reduce a lot the risk that could be just invest.
When you are investing, the price always goes up and down.
and down and the in the history of near it tends like to go more up when the cycle is coming right
and that could be a hedge when you have a for example a validator because you could still get
your amount of rewards that could be the same number but now that number could go up and up because the price is moving up and
It's not having a bigger cost. So your liquidity could keep liquid
instead of like putting more and more and more money to get
The exposure that you had in the past. So I think
if you see like the flat invest that you have just to have your subscription for Nautil Studio,
not only just as technology, because we focus on technology and see this as growth infrastructure
for the near ecosystem and make it more stronger but also if you see the
economic side as investor or just as someone that could like to get more gains it could be
interesting in the long term also so if you see like asymmetric asset you you can make projections if you are only investing the same
amount of money like each time like could be a dca but with a great potential upside
beside the traditional investment so so i i think that part is not much related in the talks, but I like to go deeper on that because I honestly found that as a big opportunity and as a big hedge.
But continue with the things that we have in the agenda.
Let's talk about how important is the Valiator network itself.
Lately, there are some great things that appear on NIR.
For example, the Iron Cloud that turns
Agentee-KI into the NIR ecosystem.
I think that could be a big opportunity,
especially because when we talk about privacy, because these agentic
tools could, for example, make some troubles for your privacy if you are running just on
a computer and not using the Iron Cloud tech tool, because it could take your data and that's that's interesting that
we already make a solution for that with this iron cloud thing and why i'm i mentioned this
because it will not be possible with without validators So having validators make more opportunities to have a strong and
robust network for the new ecosystem. So having that in mind, how important is the validator
network itself for you, Riz? the first most important thing about the network is the increase in safety
increase in safety knowing for the weather the network is very decentralized not just decentralized it is spread over the globe we have validators
in africa we have a little day in europe we have a little day in asia so knowing the fact that um
there are so many validators all over the world understand it gives this um safety assurance of the network entirely.
And also one of the fastest way to get information
about Nier Protocol is through the,
is being part of the network.
You understand?
The first, I want to believe that the first set of people
that we get information about Nier Protocol are
the validators.
So that for me is a bonus.
That for me is a bonus for me.
Me being able to get the first set of information or the first set of updates of Nier Protocol
before anybody else, just because I am aator is uh is a big boost for me
yeah great and we see that uh nightly you just come hello nightly uh there are great posts
lately from from nightly very very fun and it's a wallet that you can use with Metapool so that's
great and if you can request the microphone also Noni will be great so we
can also keep this talk with you guys so keep going with this conversation
before keep going with the traditional questions uh so for
the new people also to know about more more of you riz what's your favorite color that's a topic
sorry i think you said uh favorites color
i'm not sure if I lost you or is just.
Yeah, sorry.
I didn't hear what you say.
Yeah, can't listen.
Francisco, can you let me know if he's talking?
Oh my God.
How about now?
Can you hear me?
Sorry, can you hear me now?
I'm not sure if this is my network. You Yeah, it looks like the network
Just crash
Yeah, X not not have great validators. Anyways
Let's continue with this
By the way for those interested on the note studio, we also have a Valiators Cup.
I think that's a very fun way that you can support any Valiator you like.
Maybe you like their comments, their activities, or just know the Valiator.
It's now your opportunity to help you, you favorite validator and also we have a
soul stakers league livestream we have great activities that are there if you
like to risk take so check all the post on the Metapool maybe you can find a
great opportunity
especially if you're a cricket man anyways let's continue with this hello with Rion Lima
and Noni if you can uh request the microphone would be great uh Riz can you talk maybe so I can
okay can you hear me now?
Can you hear me now? I don't know if it's just my network or his network.
I can hear you.
Francisco, if he's talking or...
Yeah, yeah, he's talking.
How about now?
Do you hear me, Brian? How about now?
Hello? Do you hear me, Brian?
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I can hear you.
I think it's Brian, the one that doesn't hear us.
let's just wait i think brian is going to um coming again hi can you hear me right yeah yeah
how about me can you hear me now yeah yeah now finally sorry looks like network just crashed anyways thanks everyone
for the by the patience so let's continue with the with the questions um i would like
to give you a message for the cohort number three risks
if someone in your region thinks they are not ready what would you tell them
well i would say they are missing out on one of the best defy infrastructure
into this blockchain ecosystem i'll explain to them how rare it is to find a project or a platform like
node studio I also explain the fact that it's not easy being a validator on your own without
any help I'll also explain to them the advantage the benefits of becoming part of this court street understand basically i'll
just explain the peculiarity and the reality of most studio and how important you need to join
Yeah, great.
And well, we have Marisol here, so if you want to introduce yourself.
Yeah, sure.
Can you hear me well?
Hi everyone.
Here Marisol from Mexico.
I'm a Latin ambassador and also happy to be here sharing with you about the Studio Cohort
2 and the upcoming trip.
Yeah, great.
You are running a validator or just want to run?
Yeah, I want to run one for the next cohort.
So, yeah, I'm definitely applying because, you know, I'm ambassador.
So I'll be hearing everything and everyone talking about it.
And also we have been, you know, onboarding people here in LATAM to run an app.
So yeah, I don't want to, you know, pass this cohort.
Yeah, great. And as far as you see, for all who are participating in this space, we have people from Vietnam, from Nigeria, from Mexico,
from all over the world.
So there's no issue if you are thinking that,
no, my country could be difficult
or it depends on my connection.
Basically not.
And any question, you can also talk with our team, so we will be happy to help.
And you say that you're interested in the Now Studio program,
so I would like to know what brings you this spark to just jump and say, I want this.
want this? Yeah, sure. Well, as they were saying, I think it's a great opportunity, you know, to
Yeah, sure.
this knowledge about how the blockchain works, but, you know, in a different way, not only as,
you know, a user and doing some swaps and, you know, staking and, you know, knowing and using
different protocols. So I think this is a great opportunity
that you got to actually validate the transactions
and also keep helping the blockchain be secure.
So that's why I'm interested in joining this program.
Yeah, as far as I saw,
there are some other validators from your country. I think
there is Viro here also, if he can request a microphone, it would be great to know the
experience of some of your local friends also. And we have another validator here i think sky ethereum lima also and yeah
so continue with the agenda um
as far as we saw the decentralization means more than just code is the distribution
more than just code is the distribution of where are the node operators the social layer basically
where are the builders and these builders turn into educators to spread more about these technologies
and also bring more people to jump here and we have one of them, and that is Vyro, that has a really great impact with his project,
also the Plebes.
So, Vyro, let us know a bit more about you
and how is going all with the Null Studio program
for your validator.
Jem Jem, can you hear me?
Loud and clear, my friend.
Okay, cool. So nice to see all family faces here.
Some friends here at Metapool and Neurica System.
Yeah, as I also, if I remember well, I also tell you, I think that Node Studio program is one of the most important things that you're going to see in the new ecosystem nowadays that is in pools or that is promoted by the Latin community. I mean, you know, Metapool has a lot of people
that are from Argentina and Mexico.
And I think that one of the most important things about it
is decentralization, because at the end,
it helps a lot to the security of the chain.
So Nord Studio program helps a lot uh to make easy steps uh to have your own note
and help with the security uh of the uh new ecosystem and also you you're gonna have like
one piece of the cake uh because you're you're you're gaining like um yeah reward for just having a note so yeah practically i just want to jump to
to talk about it yeah i also got a question in the comment section that how many validators are
in my country i think probably right now we have more than three or closer than that,
but before Node Studio, probably zero.
And I think just a few months before Node Studio came,
entity data with enterprise node operators,
that is another program for Metapool.
So Metapool is very committed with the growth of the ecosystem.
So yeah, I think that is shaping opportunities for every country. Just to let you know guys,
because that note, there are some opportunities appear here in my country. I am from Peru and
there was a huge hackathon like the first hackathon of Nier
as far as I know and with more than 21 projects that
have been developed in that hackathon and
they were like all
functional and all using the N stack so i think that's
very very impactful and great especially because this hackathon was not only with
people from the capital was people also from other more small cities small towns
people also from other more small cities small towns so basically from all over the world
uh you can get this kind of opportunities etapool is always trying to make these great connections
with builders so in case you are interested in do some workshops or things like that, feel free to let us know.
And for you, Vailo, I would like to know maybe what is the biggest learning that you have running your note?
Maybe that could be helpful for those who are thinking to run a note
but maybe are not sure at all
yeah i think that the most important thing or maybe the uh yeah the most important thing is is
the help that you do you're gonna receive uh from the method from the metapool team about uh
from the Metapool team about the node installation.
I mean, there's a lot of technical stuff
around the program, but you're gonna receive
like a hand and a guide that gonna help you
like in every step.
So for me, sorry.
So for me, it's like very important
that someone is like helping you in in every
time and that that feels like uh in an easy way because you know have a note even in in the name
is like uh sounds um a little hard the the a little, yeah, I think that one of the most important things
or one of the highlights of the program
is that you're going to receive, like, help in every time.
Just sending a DM in Telegram.
Yeah, practically that is the main point for me.
And for those who want to just register, Thank you. Great.
And for those who want to just register, I will put the link in the comments.
Also if you can help me, Francisco, to share in this space that I already put that in the
comments so you can apply.
We give 40,000 years as delegation. Also your seed price so you can start to be a
validator you keep the 100% of validator rewards and there are only 60 slots and
we probably have not all the 60 open right now because there are more than 100 people that just applied so hurry up and apply now so you can secure
your slot and yeah i think now now's time i just i'm a bit sad because there are some other speakers that maybe weren't able because the internet was not good at all this time.
So in case you maybe want to solve any question,
feel free to reach me out through DM or to Metapool
or just put your question in the comments.
And yeah, Marisol, go ahead.
Yeah, I just have a question.
I would like to know if there's like any difference
between the cohort two and the upcoming three
that we should know that we are playing. Can you hear me, Brian?
Did you hear the question?
No, sorry.
Just like it go down for a second.
Okay, no, no worries.
So I was just asking if there's any difference between the cohort two and the upcoming three.
There is something like different
that we should know the ones that we are applying.
Well, it's like more the internal thing.
You have like some interesting gamified incentives,
I think. the internal thing you have like some interesting gamified incentives i think so but as so far
it's like the same but you have more uh opportunities to find another bps server so we have
more partnerships with new bps servers like cherry server as far as you saw in the past post of Metapool.
So I think that's an opportunity to make it even more profitable for your node operator.
And also to help this geography decentralization.
Because maybe as some of you know when you have a server the server is somewhere if we put
everyone in the same places as we can.
So now I think that's great.
And that's also thinking in the long term.
In the future, it will be incredible to have every part of the world with servers and, yeah.
So we have one of our node operators here that is from from africa i
think that could give us some insights from the region how how much is known the activities of
validators there is yeah sorry can you repeat the question?
Yeah, sure.
As far as probably everybody knows, the validator things are not like so hot or so popular.
So not much regions are interested in talking about that or maybe there's not great communities
that could help or people that could support
in case you want to build a career as an auto operator
or just as an enterprise interested to run an out.
So who are going the things there in your country?
For example, in my country, there are not much information about that.
If you want to go to learn somewhere, probably you will not be able to find that more than the internet.
But, you know, for some people, it's not like I'm including myself.
It's not like so fun sometimes just being so virtual or maybe just learn by yourself because some things I really like to learn by
myself but I think always is better when you have a community or yeah but right here in
one of the biggest of that everybody celebrates is cryptocurrency
so for that reason there are a lot of crypto platforms there are a lot of crypto
communities and these communities are heavily into web3 so to find um other communities to participate in the program is not hard, but the issue
is if they know about near protocol, that's just the issue is because the dominating communities here are Solana, Siu, Abitram, VM, Binance, Smart Chain.
You know, there are so many blockchains that are competing for, that are competing here
in Nigeria.
So, it's not going to be hard, but it only depends on if the individual or if the community or if the platform is aware of Niamh Protocol.
That's the other issue.
Yeah, communities are always a great start point for that.
Yeah, communities are always a great start point for that.
So, by the way, those who are not in our Telegram,
I really invite you to jump in our Telegram, also our Discord.
We have very active people that will support you to any question,
especially on Discord.
Probably you will hear your language most part of time we have English Spanish Vietnamese
and some others and probably in the future we'll have more more languages so feel free to reach us
out if you have a question there so I think we are going to the final to the final lap for this space. So
thanks to all
The participants that came early and also those who jump later
Chairs for deep kit just so you hear
Welcome Holly John
and Noni Thanks for for jump us also so I would like to to
invite all the speakers here to bring some last words for the node studio
program people who is interested maybe you you can give some last words for this space.
It will be great.
Let's start with Marisol, then Bayro, and then with Riz.
Yeah, I just wanted to say thank you for inviting me
and everyone for joining us.
And also that you can reach us if you have any doubt about the upcoming cohort.
And yeah, I'm so excited for applying.
And thank you for hosting, Brian.
Thank you, Marisol, for jumping to this call.
For those who don't know, Marisol is one of the ambassadors of Metapool.
For those who don't know, Marisol is one of the ambassadors of Metapool.
So, in case you want to learn more about Metapool, she is also a great person to connect.
Feel free to follow Metapool also.
And, Bayro, some last words for the people.
Some last words for the people
Yeah, I practically just invite to all the people that is interested and decentralization and in an ecosystem or
maybe just in being part something bigger that
Search about the notice to your program
from a pool and I think that they're gonna receive a lot of information and support from the team and search about the Node Studio program from MetaPool.
And I think that they're going to receive a lot of information
and support from the team.
And yeah, practically, it's that.
If you want to be more an active user of Web3,
I think that this is a good way to start.
Thank you, Airo. this is is a good a good way to start thank you aero and reese some last words for all the people especially from your region
i think will be cool have more node operators from africa
okay um thanks everyone for joining this space and uh for those of you that are interested or that are a
little bit confused i don't understand you can reach me on telegram and so encourage me on telegram
i'll be here to answer any of your questions and stand uh i mean i think thank you
I mean, thank you.
Thanks. Thanks for your time.
And, Toveki, hello.
So, thanks to everyone.
In case you still have some questions that want to be solved,
feel free to put in the comments,
and the Metapool team will answer you as soon as possible.
So, thanks, everyone.
I don't know which time soon you are but good morning good
evening good night have a nice day night evening and keep following the updates of metapool probably
you will get some surprises soon. So thanks everyone.
Now is your time Francisco.
