GMGM, welcome to Coffee with Captain.
Hope everyone had a great weekend.
I am half asleep still.
I had a flight last night that got delayed and delayed again.
Not complaining.
Happy to be here, but did not get my normal seven hours of sleep.
Didn't make it in till, I don't know, it was the morning hour.
So might have got a little like three-hour nap in.
And so if I'm a little raspy this morning, my apologies.
Joey, I saw your request in and it bounced you.
Same thing happened to the Coffee with Captain Handel.
So I don't think we got an X update over the weekend.
But quick little housekeeping, house house cleaning to start the show.
If you are having any issues with X, good reminder to maybe go check to make sure you're on the most
recent version of X. And if you are not, do that update, force close the app, leave, come back,
do that update, force close the app, leave, come back, sometimes taking a lapse help.
Yeah, I don't show anything pending on my end, but I've been,
I think X is making good news. It's like, it's like, I don't know if one step backwards or one
step forward, two step backwards makes sense with what they've done recently. But I appreciate some of the changes.
And hopefully, just the glitching subsides.
Because even now, the Coffee with Captain account did come up on stage.
It's muted.
But my main phone that I'm hosting from shows that it's unmuted.
We're just going to proceed ahead. But as always, happy Monday, everyone. Hope you all had a great weekend.
I did. Got some good family time in. Went back to Ohio to see my mother. I shared in the show
last week. Had a, she had a, I mean, I guess emergency surgery. At some point it was expected
she was going to get a pacemaker, but some events transpired and it ended up being sooner than later.
And thankful for modern medicine and everything.
She's recovering well.
It was great to see her.
And not only great to see her, I got to spend some time with,
I guess it would be Duke's, we'll say cousin.
This kid, what is it?
Your parents' dog.
I guess the dog would be my brother, my dog brother.
So it would be Duke's uncle.
Does that make, is that right?
How do I connect the dog family tree here?
Anyways, she got a new puppy.
It's like four months old.
Little Kava Poo, I think is what it's called.
And cute as can be.
And not all, but most dogs naturally love me.
And this guy, this little fellow is no different.
I'll grab a pic here in a second.
I am struggling with not just spaces.
I can't get abstract to start this morning. Does anyone
over there see the stream? It's just the start live stream button is not working without fail.
I have a sleepier morning and, or did not get enough sleep and don't have enough caffeine to
me yet and getting the tech curve balls, but I digress. If we can't get abstract live, never,
no fear, head over to YouTube.
That's where you want to watch the show anyways.
The chat there, you get all the XP bonuses and no fear, head over to YouTube.
Whoops, that YouTube airdrop is going to hit really nice someday.
I kid, but maybe not.
You never know.
Crazier things could have happened.
It does seem like we're getting X, the the everything app actually going to be an everything app here soon and uh turn on some finance features and and more uh so excited for that um no gas seinfeld episode oh you know what i need i know i'm guessing the Katie thumbs down is no abstract.
I need reminded, what was the no gas Seinfeld episode?
It seems definitely like a Seinfeld episode topic, but I don't remember.
It's not hitting me.
I'm sure I will as soon as I see a clip or some more explanation.
But yeah, it's not hitting my brain this morning.
Very, it's a me problem, not a you problem. Dort, the the image you dropped there is pretty fire.
Or is that what are you using now chat GPT? What is Dort? What are you using to get your your custom ape. I am...
I tell you what.
Someday, if I ever drop an actual PFP NFT collection,
I want to recruit a thousand dorts.
That's the goal.
Trying to...
Can't even do a proper screen share here this morning.
Here we go.
I'm guessing it's like a
robot selfie is my interpretation here.
Anyways, well done.
A lot to get into.
Actually, not a lot to get into.
We do have an interesting weekend in the oil market anyways.
Per the title, a whipsaw ran up, touched, I think, 115.
saw ran up touched i think 115 and then some announcements on some top secret not top secret
but some extra supply uh some um you know break break glass uh when needed type of oil that's
going to hit the markets trickle out into the markets pulled back uh following the massive pump
uh i'm not a i'm not a petro expert, not a geopolitical expert, not a war
expert. But we will talk a little bit about oil. We'll talk a little bit about the potential
recession that Polymarket is now pricing in. And not just Polymarket, but Goldman Sachs and JP
Morgan also both raising their estimates. So we'll talk a little
bit all that. We've got some NFT stuff we're going to have fun with. I just saw a post on
Azuki. I probably will touch on that, but I don't know. I don't know if it's worth a deep dive. I
don't want to necessarily relitigate old stuff. And I don't think it feels great to dunk on some
of these collections just because they're down from a floor price standpoint.
Almost everything is.
That said, we might hit on that.
Thank you very much, Thomas.
Yeah, it was great to see my mom and great to see her doing well.
I am, you know, family's, I mean, hopefully important to everyone. It is of the utmost importance to me, and I don't get to
see my Ohio family that often, so it was great to make the trip back, although I'm going to drive
next time. Flight was fine, but after you factor in flight, Ubers, not even just from a cost,
like last night, now you could laugh because had I drove, I went and got home any earlier
and probably would have had to leave it a little bit sooner. I just like being on my schedule,
like being in control. I don't like, you know, for instance, went to the airport like 530 and ended up,
I don't know what time the flight left. It was multiple delays and, you know, sitting,
chilling in the airport for several hours instead of, you know, extending my visit just because I didn't get noticed until I got to the airport and through security.
Anyways, I digress.
I do think for many reasons.
One, I want to bring Duke to introduce to his cousin, brother, dog brother, Monty.
I will drop a pic of Monty in the chat here in a second.
But while I go look for that, GM, Joey, what brought you up this morning?
Hope you had a good weekend.
Hey, I did have a good weekend.
Went to a card show on Saturday, sold some cards,
picked up some cards, softball on Sunday.
It was good.
I figured it would be worth mentioning too like
at the top of the show people haven't seen yet uh mayhem shared it in the war room and then
i also shared it the gandhi exploit that's going on right now yeah it's still open right it's not
not solved yet i haven't seen a post that it's been solved yet but i guess there's a
an exploit going on i'm trying to find mayhem's post
which i think had more detail um it says it says blockades um hold on it says
uh exploit detection system has detected a 230 230 000 exploit on the gandhi protocol on ethereum
around 40 nfts were stolen and the explorer has started selling them more info below
and it's got like a bunch of links of the vulnerable contract and etc so i guess um and
then the the link i posted he said um uh let me see here he said um if you've connected your wallet
or interacted with it before please revoke permissions
i guess it's something to do with one of the lending contracts or something on gandhi i'm
not quite sure i'm it's above my my development knowledge pay grade but if you've ever interacted
with gandhi um probably worth just going over there and, and doing a, you know,
revoke.cash or whatever it is to make sure you're not susceptible.
You know what?
Also a good reminder,
not just Gandhi,
but it's a good reminder.
Hopefully no one's impacted by this.
if you're not awesome.
Also good,
good reminder to not only go revoke permissions.
If you have any permissions at
Gondi, but GAS is zero.
It's not even point anything.
Gwe is just on my widget anyways.
It's showing zero, 0.0.
Good reminder, good opportunity when GAS gets this low to go and revoke approvals from
Gondi, OpenSea, anywhere that you're not using anymore.
I saw, I didn't do the deep dive, but I did see some of the X accounts. It appeared some of these
recent X hacks were a result of permissions that were granted for not your wallet, but for the X app in particular. So just a PSA, good reminder to go, revoke permissions while gas is low,
revoke your X permissions, all that stuff you're not using,
especially if you've been here for a while.
You can open that up and be shocked to see you'll have hundreds of open approvals.
And it's just a unnecessary, you potential attack vector so yeah good reminder i
did pin up bba's post up top again hopefully no one is impacted by that and um yeah good good good
psa joey appreciate you sharing what what cards you get anything exciting um yeah we um we opened up a case in national treasure which is a uh panini uh is losing their
license to uh for the nfl so they're dumping like a bunch of products so the national treasure
product fanatics who's getting it i think i saw this but i don't remember i'd have to look it up
i can't remember who's getting the nfl now i mean fanatics owns they're like a sports collectible conglomerate
right they own like apparel they own collectibles they own all kinds of stuff um but um so we opened
up a case of national treasure we didn't really hit anything that great so we were trying to unload
um as much stuff as you can but i'm right now i'm actually the three the three cards i'm focused on are
con canipple rookies cooper flag rookies and jack taglia known rookies he's a baseball player
and i'm basically punting base like lots of base cards and like you know refract there's nothing
numbered because the numbers go for like even even the raw numbers go really high, but trying to basically mass grab raw card, raw base cards from anywhere from two to $5, like low end refractors or inserts or variants.
because if they, you know, you spend like two to $5 on a card, spend 30 bucks grading it.
If it gems out, it becomes 150 to $200 card. Um, so it becomes a PSA 10, like a gem,
gem 10. Gotcha. Gotcha. Yeah. So basically playing the odds of like, if I spend, you know, um, $2, $2 to $5 a card and grade them and a few of them
gem or, or all of them, right? Like some of them are only 150 to 200, but some of them are four
to 500 because they're inserts and they're, you know, variations. Um, and then you're, you know,
you're making well more than, than your money back.
We did buy a couple of big cards.
We bought like a Mickey Mantle, uh, two out of five.
We bought, um, this, this insert, this Cooper flag called like a midnight insomnia card
for like 400.
That's in that we believe will gem out.
And that becomes like a, you know a multiple four-figure card um so we're just trying
to like stockpile some rookies like the jack hagley owns because it's not baseball season
you can get really good deals on those and i'm i'm convinced he's going to be a stud
he plays for the royals out of the university of florida so stuff like that. Yeah. Appreciate you, Sharon. A quick question. I saw,
what's your thoughts on the Sports Illustrated,
Michael Jordan cover or actual whole magazine selling?
Should I go track down my boxes of old Sports Illustrateds from the late
nineties and see if we got any, any hits early nineties,
actually it would be more appropriate.
Yeah, I've got bins of old Sports Illustrated magazines I assume were worthless,
but what were the details around this sale
and why all of a sudden are we seeing old magazines
sell for thousands of dollars?
Well, I think it's the same as the kind of comic book theory
is a lot of people back then
didn't take care of these things, right?
Like they actually read them and use them and, and flip the pages.
So, um, if you can find, I don't know what, if it was graded or not graded, I can't remember.
What was the grade?
Do you remember?
Uh, let me double check.
I think 9.6.
So if you can, if you can get a hold, if you have these older magazines and comics and they,
and they grade really well,
you're going to get a lot of money for them.
Because again, we didn't like when we were kids,
like you remember when you used to go to the, the,
the buy a pack of cards,
a lot of times you would clothesline them to your bike and,
and it would make that funny noise, right?
Like it made your bike sound like a motorcycle.
We didn't think that these things would be worth anything when we grew up.
So actually I, I did, I w I was not that old.
I did not ruin my baseball cars.
I thought they would actually be worth a lot of money.
And unfortunately it was in the air of just mass overprinting of wax.
Like they actually saw a funny, I saw a expo, so I'll see if I can pull it up next.
It was talking about the Mount Rushmore of wax, the Mount Rushmore of worthless wax that we thought were going to be amazing.
of worthless wax that we thought were going to be amazing. Like for instance, the Ken Griffey
Jr. rookie card, the Bo Jackson with his, you know, he's got the baseball bat and the shoulder pads
on. These cards that were really cool cards, they were like grails. They were chase items,
but unfortunately they just, most of them became worth almost nothing because they just continued
to print millions and millions
of these cards, even the quote-unquote rare ones. Back in the day, we didn't really have like one
of five or one of 25. It was, you know, cool cards like the King Griffey Jr. rookie card,
the Bill Ripken card. If you don't know why that is a Mount Rushmore of junk wax,
do your own research. The Michael Jordan baseball baseball card i wouldn't add that on my
mount rushmore even as a big mj fan and then uh the bo jackson was a pretty sweet card but this
is like you could probably go buy this card for 50 cents today because they've just mass mass
produced so yeah joy i did not i was uh i was naive and thought they actually would be worth
a lot of money not realizing you just you just held the wrong ones yeah i mean but really
were any cards in that era in the like i feel that i mean most of the cards that are worth
money from that era are going to be rookie cards they're going to be like yeah but even those are
even those like pale in comparison to today's rookie cards uh you know it's like that there was
that yeah my my childhood unfortunately the peak
of like from I would say like 87 was the first baseball set I collected that wood grain you know
like that that was and I was a loaded pack there's so many incredible rookies in there from Barry
Bonds like just it was an amazing set of of cards unfortunately they just there was supply was just
completely flooded uh this Barry Sanders actually have one of these Barry Sanders cards.
Eric Lindros.
But here's the thing, though.
If you have them in a great –
But if you have those, like a Barry Bonds rookie card,
and you spend the $30 to $40 to grading, and it's a 10, yes, it's worth it.
Like, I'd have to see which rookie card.
And here's the other thing too
with with a lot of these cards is nowadays it's a the market is very different right like when we
were kids there was basically you'd open a pack of cards and it was just all cards and maybe you
got like a hologram right a gun stick yeah don't forget that exactly but nowadays you open like if
i showed you the list i can smell that gum right now
anyone else i can literally smell the stick of gum that came in those those baseball cards crazy
we used to open that pack and just put that gum right in our mouth we had like no care at all i
would i would i would actually i'm i'm like a germaphobe i'm not one to eat like old gnarly
food i would actually chew i would put that in my mouth right now and chew it. If I had a pack, I would rip it open and I would chew the gum.
But if I showed you the list of like,
like for example,
the con canople cards from the 2025 tops collection,
there's literally 50 variations of his rookie card,
whether it's,
whether it's like inserts or horizontals there's like 40
different types of refractors like it's crazy like I don't I don't love it I don't love this
to be honest where it's I agree I'm I'm with you yeah I I do like that they're controlling supply
and you have limit but it's it just, I don't know.
It's a different way to dilute, I guess.
And better than the alternative of just running,
like this is actually, and I'm surprised.
Like, I mean, this is, granted, it's a Jim Mint 10,
but I've got, I think, a couple of these sets.
One is a factory sealed set from 87.
Another one is I just actually collected every card in the set.
I hadn't, I would have, if you would have asked asked i would have guessed these were going for like 30 bucks and granted
it is jim meant 10 but i'm a little surprised even sales history is you know 600 500 600 bucks
on these uh very long rookie cards um so yeah joy i don't know if you saw i do think the azuki
thing is worth talking about because he like, not,
not from the Azuki perspective of like the price of the collection and the
price of the,
like the token and what they're building,
but he's not the only founder that we're seeing kind of like pivoting to
this RWA art.
Like we didn't,
I don't think we talked about mean land and mean strategy and like what they're doing last week
after their announcements but like zagabon for a few weeks now maybe even like over a month
has been on this like rwa arc where he's been posting about like pokemon cards and so and i
don't know if if azuki's gonna pivot i don't know if this is just his personal like journey but for those that
that i shared it in the war room a couple times i think where you know mean land and i guess they're
they're i guess they're like investment fund or something it's called meme strategy
yep they've they're working with um i don't know if they acquired or worked with a company that they're launching a strategic, I think it's an investment fund slash strategic reserve, where their first goal was to acquire, I think it's like 40% or 30% of all the gray felt hat pikachus in on the market right and so it is interesting that
and i'd wager we're going to see more because i think people are starting to realize that rwas
and blockchain technology are just it just works it. It does, but it's definitely better, certainly.
And this whole issue we were talking about
to tie it all together of overproduction
and just flooding the markets with junk wax,
like the blockchain fixes this.
What, the Epic adds in the chat,
Pokemon, he's selling all his sports cards
to go to Pokemon.
Why do we think that thesis? For those that are deep in Pokemon,
why pivot from sports cards into Pokemon? And then also Inspire English, thank you for calling
us our attention. I completely, I didn't forget, but I forgot to let everyone know. Shows at the
same time, we are live every weekday at 8 a.m. Eastern time. However, the U.S. had daylight saving over the weekend,
and we sprung forward an hour. So I know not everyone in the world participates in that.
I wish we didn't. But yeah, it is 8 o'clock or 8.24 Eastern time. But the same time last week
would have been 7.24. Also, I see Steve out there.
I kid you not, Steve.
You are forever in my brain,
forever Coffee with Captain
and forever Daylight Saving time.
Anytime I heard some people flying,
someone mentioned Daylight Savings
and I just shook my head in disgust
and thought of Steve every time.
So that's my, I'm sure,
I'm certain that I've said Daylight daylight savings at some point in my life before, probably on this show. And now I
feel like it's, if I say savings with an S, I feel like I'm, I feel like I should be like the Game
of Thrones walk of shame because now I know better. I know how it's supposed to properly be pronounced.
And I was maybe 50-50 in the the past i don't really know i'm just
guessing but yeah i was i shook my head in disgust with some people mispronouncing daylight saving
time uh anyways yes 8 25 eastern uh we keep the time the same but the u.s had that daylight saving
time over the weekend um we got we got atari coming up we got bfb coming up as well go ahead
joy i was gonna say
on the epics topic of like you know you mentioned like selling his sports cars Pokemon I I kind of
look at collectibles the same way I look at like investments like right now Pokemon is super hot
um one piece was really hot now it's it's cooling off again i i i don't know if i would ever suggest anybody
now obviously we talk about this with nfts too right collect what you love um because if you
love it and you don't it like the the price fluctuation is less impactful if you love what
you collect but if you're into collecting for the sake of like the business of it, it's worth being
diversified, right? It's worth holding some sports cards. It's worth holding some Pokemon
because as the markets ebb and flow, which they inevitably do, right? You're giving yourself more
exposure and upside versus like, you know, I'm selling, and I don't know if this is what the
Epic is doing. I'm not making assumptions, but he did mention selling sports cards for Pokemon.
So if you're in collectibles or want to get into collectibles,
collect what you love, number one,
but also don't be afraid to collect different sports.
And, you know, I mean, shoot,
Disney just released their 70th anniversary
tops cards.
And there's tons of stuff in there worth money, right?
But very few people are Disney card collectors
unless you live in the collectible space
and you're just looking to make some money.
So see what's out there, collect what you love,
but don't be afraid to diversify.
Yeah, good take.
I'm excited to get
Be Epic's take in here in a second. And then yeah, Hans and Hans and anyone else is asking,
I can't get Abstract broke this morning. So we're gonna have to go back to the
drawing board and see what the new settings got me. I can't get it to go at all. It just won't
start the stream. So my apologies, but we are live on YouTube as well as X video. And as always,
the X audio spaces before going to
be epic i got to show off monty uh it was bragging cute little guy and a big fan of dinosaurs big
fan of tv watching uh he was dialed in to the tv um dinosaurs the documentary not bad not bad
it'd be a good one if you like some fungi or a particular one on netflix yep we just started
that one me and the kids just started that one. I think four episodes, pretty quick. And it's, you know,
it's a good, yeah, a good, I guess, history lesson or look back. Some would say alternative
look back on history. But yeah, Teacher K says, we miss the Steve-isms. We certainly do. Diego,
giving you some love as well. I will do my best. I can't, I'm not ever going to pretend to replace D, but I will do my best to carry on some of the
Steve-isms in the lore. Like, educate yourselves, people. Don't say daylight savings. It's
saving, daylight saving time. Anyways, BeEpicGM, tell us more about why the pivot from sports cards
to Pokemon, and is there, there like the, I get it.
I get Joey's diversification.
I guess I would push back a little bit and say,
is there some potential risk of buying tops?
The whole 30th anniversary and might Pokemon,
might the top have already been in
and now people are chasing because of the hype?
I don't think that's the case,
but I at least wanted to throw that out there to ask you like i assume that's not what you think since
you're rotating into pokemon but why isn't it the top why isn't it what why does it keep going up
from here after it seems to have been run running pretty hot gmb epic hope you had a good weekend
gm cap can you hear me yeah we got you loud and clear okay great yeah so well first of all I uh
I did a card show actually yesterday in New York and uh after the show was exhausted so I did not
get gas uh there's a gas station right by my house and this morning it had no gas so I was
I was Kramer today driving through New York trying to find a gas station so that I could uh
make it home for taking my son is
in the reason is there actually a wreck of run on gas people are like lined up at the gas stations
and afraid it's going to go no the gas station rate right by my place is uh unfortunately just
had no gas i don't know if they just they didn't get a delivery or they're waiting for it this
morning but uh i was freaking out sorry i, I got gas. I'm good.
But on the topic of sports cards, I guess for me, if you're buying things to speculate
on, you're buying players like John Morant, for example.
What is his rookie card worth right now?
You have these individuals that do something
that is a PR nightmare.
You don't have that with
Pikachu and Charizard.
Zonko said Pikachu doesn't get DUIs.
career in injuries. I get that.
is a little more...
You're removing some variables of
how the player does.
Does he get hurt? Does he do something bad?
You know, PR nightmare. That makes sense.
But I guess I would also then, the flip side of that is,
yes, and you're also kind of eliminating the ceiling.
Not truly, but in the variability of the ceiling,
where, you ceiling where Joey mentioned
Kneiple. Am I pronouncing that right,
Joey? What?
Con Kneiple.
Am I pronouncing that right? Con Kneiple.
Kneiple. I've not watched
any NBA, so it's all from reading.
Guys on an incredible run,
breaking rookie
records for three-pointers made
and in a year where you mentioned Flagg, like he was, I think, the, you know, widely regarded as going to be the lock rookie of the year.
Now it looks like Knipple is going to pass him or has passed him.
And had you bought a bunch of Knipple during the draft before he had this blow up, you're going to have not only if NBA cards go up,
but in particular, those individual players
who have breakouts,
your ability for asymmetric returns is much greater
where I guess you could say,
well, Pokemon features one character in the next game
or something and becomes more popular.
But for the most part,
it's more based on the success of the franchise
and the IP as opposed to any
individual character or in the case of sports any any individual player uh bfc i'll go back to you
but yeah thoughts thoughts i mean does that make any sense like yeah you're eliminating the dui risk
or the career in an injury but you also you don't have that variability of just them the player
absolutely crushing and having a huge come up.
No, I mean, that makes total sense.
I just like if you bet on 100 players that have that come up, how many of those players would have that positive outside where their card just moons?
I think, you know, Conk and I, I think it probably that that's a huge win.
Probably that's a huge win.
I don't think he's going anywhere.
I don't think he's going anywhere.
He's going to be great for the NBA.
He's going to be great for the NBA.
Like I brought Travis Benzana card right out of school.
I bought Drew Allard from Penn State.
And, you know, I think both those cards could easily go down to value
if they don't even make it to the majors or in the NFL.
So the speculation is there.
It is much higher risk, I feel like,
when you're making those kind of plays.
I think the best play in sports is to do what Joey said
and buy Mantle, buy Jordans, buy Kobe.
Those are only going to go up over time, right?
So that's the play in the sports market from my perspective.
Yeah, I guess both are unique in their own way, and it's really kind of like what you're looking for.
If you're looking to remove some of the risk and added speculation, hard to argue with Pokemon.
On the flip side, if you are looking to get early, and I guess if you're a fan, right, and you have certain player takes, that is an area you can get ahead of the market.
Like, for instance, I've been smashing way too early best ball, the big board they call it on Underdog, before the draft.
I was doing it before the combine, and mainly because, well, I don't have all the information.
I don't have free agency.
I don't know who gets drafted where.
I had an edge.
I believe I knew which players would perform well in the combine.
And while that doesn't guarantee success in the NFL, I knew a player like Mike Washington was
big and fast and put up a thousand yards in the SEC for a really bad team. And if he did okay at
the combine, he was going to go up. And I got, you know, I don't want to say got lucky because I knew the result. I knew he was going to perform well. I didn't know he was going to run a
4-3-3. But I was able to get ahead of that. And drafting a player in the 200s, it's now
being drafted like 140. You know, I got like five, six, seven rounds of closing line value.
What I could have been doing now, running backs probably aren't the best buys and football cards,
but I could have been looking for, you know, some of these players.
I don't even know if there's a football set out pre-draft. So this is maybe not the best example,
but my, my point being is, is, you know, maybe a player like, um, again, running backs aren't
the best, like maybe, maybe Kyle Murley, Kyler Like maybe Kyle Murray's a good buy right now
because most people are like,
oh, his football game is over.
He's going to go play baseball.
Kyle Murray doesn't suck.
He's played for a really bad franchise.
And there's a world where he signs in Minnesota
and is an all-pro this year.
And Justin Jefferson's back.
Like getting ahead of some of these player takes
is that's where I have not done this in sports cards,
but for me, like, I don't, I definitely
don't have an edge in Pokemon. I don't even
know what these characters are. I mispronounce
90% of them, but, and not
that I have an edge in all sports,
but there's ways to
get more in
on a, if I feel, if I have conviction
in a particular player or a particular outcome,
you know, just like, if you were playing DFS, well, you also could be playing player props.
If you have a strong player take just ways to maybe diversify is not the right word for it,
but get, um, you know, spread, spread your action across multiple, um, multiple different shares or bets to a potentially hit on a even more upside, but also mitigate some
of the some of your downside as well. For instance, you got the greatest player take ever and have the
quarterback or the running back who's the nuts in a given week in DFS and roll out 150 lineups
to that player. There's still no guarantee you're going to hit and you you could
ultimately think that you could bust whereas if you also put some action on you know that player's
overs whether it's fantasy points or rushing yards or whatever you know that's something i'm
looking to do more of in the future because i feel that it while not a hedge it's an opportunity to
to to profit when you're right in in these games that are extremely
high you know there's extreme variance and you're you're you know you're basically trying to hit a
lottery ticket um joey go ahead and get back in here and then we'll bring atari into the conversation
i mean listening to you kind of talk through all this like sports cards are not very different than nfts if you think
about it right like you you why do you buy an nft collection at mint right you're you're hoping that
they're that it's whether it's art or you know these pfp collections that they're going to build
something or do something special just the way you buy a rookie card and then the question is can
you time the market correctly and maybe get out at the top of that nft collection or right does that rookie become a
like someone like a you know cooper flag and con canipple where the their market's really hot right
now and it's like do you do you hold even longer to see what happens but then if they have a bad
like cj stroud's a great example like he was a very popular
desirable card after um his rookie season and it was selling for a lot and now you can't even move
his stuff because he's been injured he hasn't played well and it's it's like i mean maybe not
just sports cards but like collectibles in general operate not very different than than how we've been trading NFTs for five years, which is why I guess a lot of people from that space came into NFTs originally.
And I'm guessing the answer is yes, but.
Card lending taken off yet?
We were just talking about Gandhi.
By the way, quick PSA, if you missed it earlier, there's a Gandhi exploit.
Recommendation is go remove any approvals.
While you're at it, gas is .2 gwi.
You might remove some other approvals.
Revoke.cash is the, you know, the go-to spot for that. Joey, is there, I do a $250 BZ Gold Claw Pool
and I hit the $9,000 Grail item and I keep it.
Is there a platform that I could,
if I wanted to take out a $5,000 loan
against that $10,000, $9,000 cardboard,
is this live today on any platforms?
Is it being discussed? Like help bring me like, Oh, it's, it's being discussed. And I think it's,
it's, it's going to happen very soon. And that's one of the thesis for bringing RWA is on chain
is. So for example, let's say I'm sitting on a a mickey mantle rookie card right not a mickey
manor uh the yeah and those cards are selling or like a t206 honus wagner right in a in a psa one
that thing sells for seven figures right i cannot walk into my wells fargo or my credit union and say hey i want to renovate my house right like can you give me
250 000 and i'll put up this t206 honus wagner wells fargo is going to laugh you out the door
right so the idea of they might call the cops on you yeah they're like this guy's taking crazy
pills um but the idea of bringing rwas on chain is exactly for that reason right so
if that t206 is tokenized with somebody like bz sitting in a vault and i mean that was the
thought that's rally you know um that was the thought process not rally that platform that i
guess uh log everyone talks about that logan paul rugged or whatever was part of an owner and he was like, you know, he
fractionalized his Pikachu
illustrator and whatever. But like
that's the thesis, right? Is you can bring an RWA
on chain. You can then say
like, who wants to offer me a loan or
who wants to buy into this so I can
get some liquidity share, you know, sell
shares and get liquidity because you can't
do that right now. You can't.
There's no traditional
finance method of leveraging your T206 Honus Wagner. You might be able to do it privately.
Like I'd imagine there's somebody out there with a lot of money. That's like, yeah, you want
$250,000 and I get to hold your T206 Wagner until you pay me back. I'm sure that exists,
but I don't know of any platforms trad fi that'll do that yeah it
seems like a i mean it's going to happen whether yeah is there a gondi for rwas yet like who's
building this it's it's so we had like kettle finance was doing the rolexes there has been
some rwas i'm actually now that we're talking loud, I'm shocked this doesn't exist yet for Pokemon and sports cards.
Like, actually shocked.
I mean, I know it's easier said than done.
It's easier for me to say as a non-dev.
But it's the same thing.
Like, why doesn't Gandhi or NFT5 or Vindal or, like, it once once they with thanks to platforms like BZ and they've already
tokenized these these RWAs and brought them on chain from a smart contract standpoint it's the
same thing it's it's no different than it is an NFT so really curious as to why this hasn't taken off yet my might be front-running bz's roadmap
my apologies if my apologies if so um atari gm welcome to the stage what brought you up this
morning hey what's up first of all mic check because i'm driving yeah we got you crispy okay
hey what's up guys well the sports car talk you started talking about the brown box set i don't
want to go too back in that conversation but that got me what a great set that was right if you know you know
dude I have all of that I have 20 Barry Bonds rookies from that set and then 20 from the other
I forget which one I have all that shit sitting and you guys got me thinking I have all the
original Sports Illustrated's Beckett magazines boxes I got all that but that's why i'm so bullish on
blockchain honestly because like dude i can't use these things for lending i can't do anything with
them they're just sitting if i want to spend 30 to get upgraded there's just so many logistics with
my physical physical cards but uh yeah but just a couple points one dude that gum even back in 89 that shit tasted from like the 30s or 40s
like nobody i was trying to even think how to describe the texture and that was baseball packs
gum so god bless you that you're still willing to put that in your mouth it was like it was like
it was like hardened play-doh because it would crack when you when you tried to bend it in half
it wouldn't bend it would just crack in half yeah yeah a kid today would not describe it as gum like it it does not qualify as gum i don't
know what it was made of but yeah it was not gummy not chewy it was it was like probably the first
time we got microplastics in our bodies yeah it was like stale play-doh is the best way now you
gave me the the the thing that we used
to have a baseball little league the big league gum or whatever and you know you felt like you
were big league chew the one that was shredded big league chew yeah big league chew now we're
talking um it was supposed to mimic shredded tobacco that was very popular in the 80s and 90s
with baseball players how they would wad it up and put it in their cheek.
I might buy this lot of 200
old Unopentops baseball cards just so I can
pieces of gum on show one day. This would be
a good bit. Go ahead, sorry.
Jesus, no, but that's what brought me up. I'm just
driving them from work. I just
tapped into my open claw after it's done
with the dishes. I'm having it,
vibe code,
the lending platform for BZ.
I'm just kidding.
I just always looking for a way to roast that shit,
I heard the conversation.
I was like,
my DM is open.
Let me know if you are vibe coded.
All right.
I got you.
a lot of good points.
I really like Epic's point about just like the players can get injured.
Because I took a big asymmetric bet on Zion.
I bought a bunch of PSA 10s for like 500, 600 bucks a piece.
And then he rugged.
Well, speaking of rugs and very fitting here, we have some breaking news that does tie all this together.
news that does tie all this together.
Kid you not, when I
pre-NFTs, pre-top
shot, during the pandemic,
I got out my old bins of baseball cards.
I started buying some new ones. I basically,
I would hit a DFS score and then the players in that
lineup, I would go buy a rookie card of each of them
and I was ripping some packs.
My best card
in a pack rip was one of the
prisms. I don't remember what, again, to Joey's earlier point,
there's a lot of different, there's not just one rookie card, there's a lot of different ones. This
was one of the rarer ones. And it was at the time, I'm sure it's not here anymore. At the time,
it was like a $700 Tua Tungavailoa rookie card. Now, had Tua went on to be the next Tom Brady, it would have been
very wise to hold that $700 Tua rookie card. However, today, the breaking news is that the
Dolphins just informed Tua that he will be released, and the Vikings are, I'm sorry,
the Dolphins are eating a $99 million cap hit. It's a lot to play for a player not to play.
million dollar cap hit it's a lot to play to for a player not to play um and needless to say my
without looking i'm pretty certain that to a rookie card i had 100 bucks probably i don't
know i don't see even 100 yeah i mean i i would gladly i mean and here's the thing like even i
would say i'd gladly take 100 i'm not gonna i'm not gonna deal with the headache and the friction
of listing that thing and shipping that thing all for a hundred bucks.
You know, I know that maybe it makes me sound like a, like a prick, but it's a lot of work goes into selling with these things for a hundred.
Just driving home that it's just so much a better platform to use things like BZ.
And, and this is all before we even have the, the liquidity piece unlocked where, am I going to go take a loan out on my Tuatunga-Vailoa rookie card? No, but I don't want to sell my 1986 Jerry Rice rookie. And I go in,
and this was also in the wax, junk wax. So it wasn't, it's not really worth as much as it
should be. But let's say I did have a $100,000 rookie card of someone. I would much rather,
if I needed liquidity or I wanted to tap into it, let's say i wanted to do some pack rips instead of selling that thing i'd much rather
tap into liquidity go buy some packs flip those things and it can create a vicious cycle but
um yeah just just a far better um far better platform if i could weed to i would yeah absolutely
apparently the the rumors that the falcons are actually considering
signing tua um so i mean who knows maybe he has a resurrection with that no joey come on we're
delusional here in this space it's the best 99 million dollars they've spent since 1986. crazy
oh it's yeah it's it's bad he's but to your point cap like you had a chance there
like and this is this these are the risks that we all take with collectibles right like you had a
chance there to sell it for 700 and you were like you know what i think this guy's got some upside
and it's not there and also don't forget when you go to sell that card on ebay
you're paying like 13% in fees as well.
And not to make excuses for myself, but had I ripped that card, had it been on BZ, I would have sold it.
Like, no exaggeration.
Like, the main reason I didn't sell it for 700 bucks is the friction that would have went around and, oh, I don't have an eBay account. I need to, going to have to grind to get a, you know, I can't remember what they call their premium
sellers or prime, whatever the prime eBay account is. And it was, it was just going to be a lot of
work. And I just didn't, it was one of the things like, okay, am I going to do this and actively
like build the account and start selling, you know, every day I'm having trend every week day or weekly, at least I'm selling, shipping out cards and ultimately decided I
didn't want to go put in the time or effort to do that.
And, but had it been on chain, I would have.
And you're at the mercy of your feedback.
So I was the top 200 seller on eBay back in like 2001, two and three.
And one person leaves you negative feedback,
your whole account gets fucking compromised.
Yep. And account limits.
It's just very much easier said than done.
I know people do well on it,
but to start from zero, it's, it's, it's, it's not easy.
I mean, there's also, you know,
I don't really shop on eBay because again,
the, the, a lot of times they're trying to sell their cards higher than what they're
worth because that 13%, there's a lot of Facebook groups that you can jump in.
And, and that's where I've been buying a lot of these, uh,
Cooper flag and concanople and Jack Caglian own rookie cards.
As you jump in these Facebook groups and they're like, yeah, here,
$2 a card. I've got like 10 of them.
And I'll even take care of the shipping for you. So you could even jump into some of those, yeah, $2 a card. I've got like 10 of them and I'll even take care of the shipping for you.
So you could even jump into some of those Facebook groups
and list it for sale.
And then you do like PayPal goods and services.
So everybody's protected with the 3%
and easy peasy versus eBay.
But obviously then you're not,
it's only open to that Facebook group versus the millions of people that are on eBay.
Yeah. Yeah. And the biggest, the biggest downside, unless we redeem it,
we don't, we can't get that, that incredible gum. Um,
Dort adds a panic is, Pinnix is fine. Shut your mouth, Joey.
I I'm rooting for Pinnix. I I'd rather see Pinnix than Tua, but, um,
I agree. I'd like to see Pinnix too.
One quick hit on this,
or fly back over the Gandhi issue
that we did get this update
from the Gandhi team.
Here is the official update.
Gandhi security instance.
We have new information on the exploit.
What we now know,
the exploit appears to affect NFTs
that are not currently in active loans.
It's tied to an approval vulnerability
on affected contracts.
Purchase bundler.
NFTs held as collateral and active loans
do not appear to be at risk at this time. What you should do right now, do not repay any loans
until they confirm it's safe to do so. Revoke approvals for the affected contract immediately
via revoke.cash. Do not initiate any new activity on the platform. It lists all the affected
contracts. If you have a loan that is about to expire and need to take action, please do not
interact with the platform directly. Instead, open a loan that is about to expire and need to take action, please do not interact with the platform directly.
Instead, open a support ticket on our Discord,
and the team will assist you personally.
We'll post another update as soon as we can confirm it's safe to resume normal activity.
Thank you for your patience working on this as fast as possible.
So stay safe out there.
And anytime there's exploits like this,
make sure that people will prey on the fear.
So make sure you're not clicking any links, random links and DMs.
Make sure you're only interacting with the official account, the official websites,
and just take some extra precautions out there anytime there's exploits like this.
Let's do this. You mentioned the, I do want to talk markets. I do
want to talk a little bit about oil and majors. I also mentioned this, the new recession numbers,
which ran up, it's pulled back a little bit. Decent volume though. And then Joey, we'll kind
of, before we get into market update i will i will bring this
up it's not me saying and i'm just commentating on a post from kate kate says azuki raised 28
million i thought they raised a lot more than that but that my memory could be mistaken now
that's just the raise that i feel like the 28 million was just like the isn't 20 million like just what they got from
the elementals that's what so a azuki the ogs sold for multiple eth uh so it was millions made
on the initial primary sale there was i thought it was like 40 plus million on the elementals
and then i do think they also raised vc funds i could be mistaken, but I don't know what the 28 is referring to.
But all in, it was revenues plus raise, which should have been well over $100 million,
if I'm not mistaken. Back to Kate's post, fifth experiment after rugging, I mean, experimenting with tendies, crypto funks, crypto zunks, et cetera.
I'm not even going to give that credit. Founder admitted to using fake personas
as such as I'm a female dev and elaborated its guerrilla marketing tactics, called it storytelling,
down 97.4% from the peak. At some point, you can just stop posting about your own NFT collection and start posting about things that actually have
and will have value, like physical TCGs. It shows the Azuki price chart, which again,
you could do this about show a similar chart for about any NFT or meme coin or shoot. There's a
lot of stocks that have performed like this in the last several years.
This was a quote tweet from a Zagabon post on March 1st that said, Alpha, Black Lotus, No Rarity, Charizard, Bandai, Blue Eyes, White Dragon, every TCG
has an origin card printed before anyone knew what it would become.
The Bandai Blue Eyes dropped in 1998, a year before Konami.
The rookie Blue Eyes, most people don't even know it exists um joey what's why what what what's going on what am i missing
here why like he sent that on on the first and then is it i mean he's been posting a lot about
tcg's if you go on his page why the fud now why is kate going
after him what am i did i miss something are people pissed off that he's talking about tcgs
and not azuki what what there seems like i'm i'm missing a part of this story
i mean azuki did launch their own tcg um like there were cards released um I'm assuming people are just...
It's somewhat of a bear market.
I'm assuming they're expecting him to talk about
when's the next anime episode coming out?
What's going on with the TCG released?
What are we doing?
What's the plan here with Anime Chain?
I guess they're just expecting him as the, you know, the leader and founder of all this CEO, whatever his
title is, right. To instead be, instead of talking about Pokemon cards and magic, the gathering cards
to talk about your own TCG and all that other stuff. And I guess people are just kind of
in that mindset of like what you
know you've raised like you said i would say i would have to say with royalties the elemental
sale and and everything they've raised they've got to have raised nine figure over nine figures
i mean azuki was selling for at its high what like 30 40 ETH right yeah so I guess people are just they're kind of tired of
seeing it yeah and then also you look at like in comparison to other collections right you look at
like what pudgy penguins are doing pudgy world is about to be released they've got all their you
know their toys and everything they're building you, abstract was announced way after, I mean, it could be wrong,
but wasn't abstract announced after anime change and look at what abstract's
doing. So, you know, in this PVP world we live in here,
I'd imagine people are looking what all the,
what all these other projects are doing and how successful they are and saying
like, stop talking about Pokemon cards and start talking about your own stuff.
I guess. successful they are and saying like stop talking about pokemon cards start talking about your own i guess um yeah and i i'm asking if anyone is deep in that ecosystem i'm not funny i'm just
i'm asking questions because i'm not in the ecosystem might be one of the few i don't know
if i've ever held maybe like one of their beans or one of their really low assets but i don't i've
never held a zuki i don't think I've ever held an elemental,
maybe traded in and out of that pre TGE,
but I didn't hold it for long.
If I'm missing something,
if there's something else going on or,
cause I even saw some comments,
people were accusing Kate of,
of just engagement farming.
maybe not.
I don't know.
some of the critique is because
i guess valid or fair but i was just curious what what prompt what prompted i mean as a holder i
think if she's a holder of anime coin anazuki i mean she has every right to go on to go on her
ex and you know express her feelings towards i don't know if she is a
holder or not right but if she is she has every right to express frustration if she feels that way
about you know everything being down and her feeling like the the founder's not
building if that's if that's her perception i don't think it's engagement farming you see people
every day talk about you
know when's the club going to be ready for apes or when's other side going to do this or with
or with you know all these so i don't look at it as engagement farming i think some people just
use x as an outlet to share their either happiness or frustration with whatever they're
holding there before we move too far away though this is the best account on twitter right now
westero's central uh breaking sir to a tongue ofoa to be exiled on the morn tilt season starts.
As he was told by Miami's master of the coin this morn, the Dolphins take on nearly 100 million
gold dragons. His most likely landing spot is MetLife Castle. May the warrior protect him
from the god's forsaken turf. I don't know why i get such a kick out of that one but uh
pinnick adds uh or pain adds pinnick has no knees left ignore this comment don't let it take you
off track too late too late too late too late um i did see oil back up over 100 as we are dialed into the oil chart this morning.
Before we get into oil and market as a whole, though, I did laugh at this post here from
Wapital, who said, oil should go up to a million dollars so normies can feel how it felt it felt to use ethereum in 2021 um i i chuckled
uh if you were here you know i mean did steve did call ethereum liquid what did he say he said
digital uh ethereum is digital oil there you go yeah digital oil indeed um maybe maybe that's
we're just lagging.
The ETH pump is lagging because we needed oil to pump first,
and then digital oil goes second.
Thomas says, also, don't forget to add your session on your account as well.
Apps and sessions, then delete as needed.
I'm not exactly sure what you mean there
thomas i might need you to expand on that a little bit not not exactly sure what you're
talking to i first i think he's referring to inside inside your like if you're using rabbi
there is a option in rabbi where you can remove like you're not it's not revoke so it's not on
chain but you could also like disconnect within Rabi.
I think he's what he's referring to.
Same as Meta mask.
Appreciate it.
Thanks for sharing it.
It's almost like clearing.
It's almost like clearing your cash and cookies.
I believe kind of things.
Makes sense.
Be safe out there again.
Just be with everything.
It's not just speculative risk.
You also have protocol risk.
And anytime you're putting your assets in a smart contract,
know that this is unfortunately in the range of outcomes.
Let's do this.
Let's roll into a market update. And boy, we got another banger. We got another
world premiere. Go give the space a like or repost a bookmark because you're going to want
to get more people in here to hear from. We did not get Payne's rapper name finalized yet,
but here is another sample on his mixtape. We'll be right back. I dig it. Well done, Sir Payne.
Not the greatest place to start when we talk markets, but we're going to go there anyways.
Fear and greed. We're back in extreme fear at 19. I saw someone say it dipped as low as eight,
but I did not see eight. But we are back in extreme fear. Last month, the lowest we hit was
nine. And the yearly low was just a little over a month ago, we hit five, I think was the lowest
of all time on the fear and greed.
Wu-Pain claim.
It doesn't roll off the tongue, but it read better than it sounded when I said it.
Maybe it was just my mispronunciation on front.
Looking at majors, though, Bitcoin is actually on the 24-hour clock up slightly.
This was after it had dipped down.
So volatility is maybe the one
certainty here. On the 24-hour clock, it's showing up 1.24%. ETH is up 2.92%. BNB up 1.89%.
Anecdotal, but my mother's Coinbase account, she got set up with, pretty sure her bag is ETH, Bitcoin, XRP, and maybe some Stellar Lumens.
I can't know if she ended up adding that or not.
It's down half.
So it's down 50% off, 100% off.
It's all-time high from her personal account.
She's still up, but she was looking at long-term investment and wasn't even planning
or attempting to sell any tops. And she opened it up, the app for the first time in a while and
said, oh yeah, this used to be double this. So take that for what it's worth, some anecdotal
mom Coinbase account. She's just giving me some opportunity to catch up for missing that
XRP trade that she nailed that and her silver trade she also crushed she was
way yeah did you see a micro strategy bought more Bitcoin today once again top blasting
strategy acquired almost 18 000 Bitcoin for 1.28 million or 70 946 per Bitcoin as As of 328, they hold 738,000 Bitcoin
acquired for 56 billion or
average of 75k per.
I don't know when
they would have bought it at
hard to do how they
Phonix, yeah, I actually will tell her to pick up
some Hyperliquid.
He said, rotate the scraps of XLM and XRP to hype. Good, good call. And now that it's on Coinbase, there's no reason that all my friends and family can't own some hype as well.
Speaking of Hyperliquid, that's where the traders are going. That's where the traders
are going to trade oil over the weekend when um mark
tradfi markets are closed you see here is the oil chart on hyperliquid went from 95 96 to ran up all
the way up to 111 uh we did as i mentioned i went over 115 looks like 117 uh around the top and then
some sell-offs went back down to below where it started, like 93. And now it's back up, running right around 100.
So not an oil expert.
I don't know.
All I know is you can trade it with 20x leverage on hyperliquid.
And I think that's a big deal.
I think not just oil, but this whole 24-7 market is, you know, we talk about like, seems inevitable that
lending, RWA lending, tapping into equity in your Pokemon physicals is inevitable. Someone's
going to turn this on soon. This seems like more and more people finding 24-7 markets.
It just seems inevitable. I shared the story of the older guys at the gym. We're talking
couldn't wait until the market opened so they could get ahead of some trades following the
weekend's activity. They don't have to wait any longer. You don't have to go trade 20x leverage,
but HIP3 is underrated in terms of what it's unlocked.
And we talk about what is going to be the next catalyst, onboarding catalyst.
This is a real one, man.
Like people coming in to trade on chain when they can't is, or when they can't trade in
tradify markets is very, very real.
Now, how long does this last until we have, you know, the traditional markets on online, at least 24.5.
I think that's coming soon.
I mean, theoretically, it's there on Coinbase already.
I would not be surprised if we get 24.7 across some of the major, you know, mainstream brokerages.
But when that happens, I don't know. And I think, to me, Hyperliquid has really broken out this cycle as they deserve to be talked about in that conversation.
Yes, Bitcoin is the only non-all. Everything else is by definition and all.
But if we're going to talk majors and talk about Bitcoin, ETH, Solana, I think Hyperliquid um deservedly broken into that that tier granted maybe they're
the the bottom of that tier certainly but just real stuff going on real real differentiator and
yeah i just i absolutely see could see this bringing in more people into not just to trade
but i think it'll get more people thinking,
what else should we be putting on chain case in point?
Like RWA is that you could tap into, you know, do get a loan on your Pokemon.
I just, I think it's an easy thing for a normal person,
especially when I try to fight to realize that, well, this is just better.
Like being able to trade whenever I want, as opposed to 9.30 to 4.30 Monday through Friday, it's just better.
And I think it's such an obvious, so obviously better. I think we get others to start thinking
about what could be done on chain and encourage, inspire more builders. And whether they're devs or not,
with all this AI explosion,
it is, I think, just a matter of time
before more get in the game.
A few other, before we move on from market update,
I will hit on some NFTs real briefly.
And then I don't like,
not great talking about recession,
but it is noteworthy for sure.
Um, so apes down a percent, uh, 5.7 punks up a percent to 29, seven, nine pudgies flat at 4.41
little pudgies down 5% of 0.47. Uh, it looks like it must've been a decent X copy sale known origin
X copy collection is up 11%. Uh, grifters down a couple percent. Mutants down
2% to 0.82. Fidenza is down a percent to 19. Gazers, I wonder if we're seeing some fine art
volume with not the usual suspects here popping on the trending chart. Quirkies, holy moly. Last
I looked there, 1.09. They continue that climb up now 1.17 and um one more plug for
look at what royalty protected contracts are doing for these collections maybe it's all
coincidence I don't think it is but shout out to unvault one of our sponsors who's helping
existing teams migrate not just go multi-chain but protect the royalties and share those royalties with
their collector base. Milady's down a percent to 1.29. Xcopy additions up a couple percent.
Moonbirds down 3% to 1.03. Normies down 11% on the day, but man, must have ran up over the weekend
at some point because 0.06 is much higher than I think 0.03, 0.04 last I looked.
So I had a big run
and then a little bit of a pullback.
Nibbles, congrats to Mahaha team
for the men out still trading at 0.03
and a little above mint price,
up 4.2% on the day.
Doodles, up 2% to 0.49.
Death and Taxes still holding that 0.03,
although it down 14% on the day.
V1 Punks down a couple of percent.
And the other one,
VFriends 1.25. I was looking for their Azuki down, down at just a percent 0.74,
since we were talking about them. But that's our daily market update. Not a sponsored update today, but we did get the new world premiere of another pain banger.
Thank you very much for that pain.
Here is the other market-related, I guess at the highest level, market concern is U.S.
recession by the end of 26.
Now a 30% chance.
It did run up to 37%. This is on Polymarket,
a few hundred grand worth of volume. So maybe it's not enough to really get
too excited one way or the other, but definitely something to take note of. Also,
oil, odds of it getting up to 140 or above, up to 53% on Cal sheet.
Oil prices jumped over 110, as we just mentioned, back now down to about 100.
But some wild futures on oil as well.
And as I go back to that chart, just gave up 100, now 99.7. The move probably would have been to just long all this right before the
conflict in the Middle East broke out. You can see even as recent as March 1st,
it was still trading at like $68 a gallon, now up over 100, as we mentioned. If you go back
a month ago, I mean, really for several weeks, it was trading in that
65 range, pretty flat.
And then boom, really exploded upon this conflict over there.
If you're not following that closely, you can not be an oil expert.
But the big issue is the straight 20% of all global oil goes through this area that is effectively shut down.
Now the U.S. has come in and they said they're going to provide maritime insurance and help
get more of that running.
And then we had a, there's a big release of oil reserves, just going to take it a while
to actually get out and get in, get in distribution, get in supplies.
if you are,
might be good data to get some extra gas,
try to avoid your lines,
hearing some,
be epic shared.
They were already out of gas.
I've heard some others say that they were,
in some crazy lines,
not a great day to get gas.
To which I say,
imagine pumping gas.
But, you know, if they fill in the,
go grab the Twilight meme
where it's like the elites with their nose up
looking at the crowd.
That's how I feel driving an electric car
when people are freaking out about gas prices.
I kid, but I kind of do feel that way.
Not that I would ever make that face in anyone,
but I feel like the meme is fitting.
This recession probability of 41% is the highest reading of 2026, up sharply from 25% in January.
Again, those contributing factors, this oil shock, 15% global tariffs,
continued uncertainty with the Iran war, Fed rate hesitation, four simultaneous
headwinds at once.
And historically, the crypto recession data is actually limited.
Bitcoin only existed through one recession, which was COVID in 2020, and it crashed 50%,
then became the top performer of 2021.
So you've got limited history there in terms of how does Bitcoin actually performed during
recessions?
And is the four-year cycle still a thing or not?
Um, the bull case for crypto and recessions, the government, you know, continued, you know,
prints money to stimulate, uh, which equals currency, currency debasement, which equals
our hard assets win gold already proving the thesis as it's up over $5,000 an ounce.
Uh, the bear case is recession equals job loss, equal people liquidate risk assets first.
Crypto still very much so largely is held by retail, and retail gets squeezed first.
Yes, there's institutional demand.
We have the ETFs.
But keep in mind, those ETFs is a proxy for retail.
It's not BlackRock going out and buying a bunch of Bitcoin and ETH to hold on their
balance sheet.
It's they're buying it for the ETFs, which are then owned, bought, and sold by retail.
All this, I guess if we really zoom out, we talk about how we got away from our roots
and our core.
Go read the white paper.
Bitcoin was literally created because of the financial crisis in 08.
2026 recession would be, I guess, a test for are we, is the thesis right?
Is it really going to be proved to be the hedge it was supposed to be?
Or do we just continue to see liquidations alongside everything else?
I would say that while, I mean, to me, the thesis makes sense. I think the thesis does hold.
At the same time, with so many derivatives now, you've got, you know, one Bitcoin, one real physical Bitcoin could be chopped up six or seven different ways on paper.
And I think that stuff is absolutely impacted when we get risk off and pullbacks, recessions like this.
So it's like, which force is stronger?
The market forces or the underlying digital gold?
Oh, there's only going to be 21 million of these real ones.
I just, I don't,
I don't know how
aggressively that pays out.
I actually think
relative to the craziness,
the uncertainty in the world,
I think crypto's actually
held up pretty okay.
And I think part of that
could be because of this.
It's almost like confused.
Should it trade with the market?
Should it actually be the hedge against these recession and money printing?
I think it is a big question of this cycle.
And maybe none of it matters.
Maybe it all is just as a four-year cycle and macro doesn't really matter.
I tend to think it matters. Maybe it all is just as a four-year cycle and macro doesn't really matter. I tend to think it does.
But yeah, going to be interesting to see
both short and midterm how this plays out.
And I think the one thing that is certain is volatility.
I did just see there's 2.2 billion
in Bitcoin and ETH options that expire this week.
Another major derivatives event coming
midweek, which adds volatility on top of what's already seems to be somewhat fragile. Watch open
interest and paying levels closely heading into Thursday. So Wednesday, Thursday, those options
expire. And I'll drop an article to show you what I was reading here.
Pop-ups after pop-ups. Here we go. As I mentioned, 2.2 billion in, nevermind the old article. I don't
know why it just popped in my timeline. This came out in January.
So disregard everything I just said.
It's not current.
Someone just shared an old article.
Go figure.
It's not AI, but it's not timely.
I'm catching up here on a...
Well, I'll catch up on this real thing because it's kind of a long read,
but appreciate you sharing phonics. And this is where, as I said, I'm catch up on this real quick because this is kind of a long read, but appreciate you sharing phonics.
And this is where, as I said, I'm not the oil expert, but I can parrot things I read on the internet.
This was a quote tweet or quote repost from, we are in 1973, 2020, inflationary bull market.
If the Fed allows, I will be, as I'm not a good writer. The
Iran war changes everything. It's a major historical point and will likely dictate the
path of coming years. Even serious investment fund managers need to evaluate their thesis for
this year against the event. I think Trump has made a historic mistake. In my eyes, we're in
October 1973. History doesn't repeat itself, but it often rhymes. Mechanics behind the events are much similar. Take a look.
Showing the 1973-1974 oil crisis and verified monthly gold and oil prices compared side
Goes on to say the economy ran hot in 1970-1972 and started to cool off in 1973.
Yom Kippur, war happens, oil embargo,
inflation worldwide, a quick supply shock causes inflation to outpace treasury yields.
Real rates go negative, forced bond markets to risk on because treasuries are negative
real yield now. Fed is trapped because it plans to cut, but inflation is sky high.
Hiking is political suicide as people struggle with high
prices and layoffs already happened pre-war, so they expand the balance sheet and maybe even cut
instead. Inflation persists and gold and hard assets rally hard. Oil crisis was solved in
December, but inflation stayed. Gold corrected down 40%, then rallied 800% in the 70s. Eventually
comes in 1979 and Volcker comes in in 1979, and turbo hikes
rates, causing the market to crash and inflation to cool. Now today, economy ran hot on innovation,
and AI CapEx seemed to be now peaking as hyperscalers start to take leverage to finance
CapEx. Layoffs in software and other sectors started, the job market is weakening, credit
spreads spiked in February pre-war.
Now Iran war happening.
Trump is stuck in there.
It's a regional war and a big mess.
Oil and gas now have security premium no matter if the straight opens or not.
Inflationary shock has happened.
You are here.
The Fed is trapped and politically likely can't do what's economically sound.
High grades to curb inflation shock.
This would destroy the already weakened economy
and hurt the consumer even more.
Politically, US government already announced
subsidies for gasoline,
so public sector money flows in the private sector.
Three out of four scenarios are bullish risk.
2021-20 repeat is on the cards.
If the Fed does these steps,
this would be bullish.
All assets, now Bitcoin is a dark horse
because it has never been fully tested in a regime where we're heading into, but would assume it also
runs high because of negative real rates dictate the whole path of the market, and Bitcoin is
negatively correlated to them. He goes on and says, there's three main scenarios in The View.
Trump wins, and Iran falls quickly. Situation normalizesizes in 1973 is off the cards for now.
If inflation falls to, uh, is a question in the economy, cool off still there.
Um, two is Trump strikes a deal and pulls out this requires strong character from him.
It would look like he's a loser and likely Trump narcissism and loss aversion pushes
him to double down his communication so far indicates this.
And then three, the scenario above, I think it's most likely, it's also most likely that the Fed will wait, as always, and
government support the economy with liquidity injections. The result would hurt other economies
the most. DXY would go up as other currencies devalue more, and other markets sell off oil,
and natural gas would go up. Gold would go up, Bitcoin would go up as a dark horse.
You get a repeat of the COVID bull run.
Now, the path is a different question.
I assume uncertainty into FMOC will be super high as the Fed can send or wreck the markets
if they go, if Volcker or Burns.
I think it will be Burns, but the future will show the path. This, again, was
quote tweeted by Swarmick, who says, we take five wars during which oil prices skyrocketed,
four of them took place in the Middle East. Historically, oil prices increases have acted
as a tax on global economy. Almost every major wave of inflation over the past 50 years has been linked in one way or another to oil shocks.
The oil shock in 73 revealed a new economic phenomenon for the first time, stagflation.
This is a condition that still makes central banks nervous.
When oil prices rise, everything else automatically becomes more expensive.
Transportation, manufacturing,
energy, food, living costs, rising production costs are the most dangerous type of inflation.
Central banks have almost no control over it, and rising interest rates does little to help.
Note that it is raising, not lowering. With rising inflation, the only available tool for containment is tightening policy. But there's an important factor. The duration of the war and
the stability of oil prices, these two elements directly determine whether inflation will become
sustainable. Every major spike in oil prices during conflicts has been accompanied by a jump
in inflation. Read that again. Every major spike in oil prices during conflicts has been accompanied
by a jump in inflation from 3% to 11%, then to almost 15%. This inflation was
treated with the same method by rising interest rates. Paul Volcker had to raise the finance
rates almost 20%. As a result, this is how the economy regained relative stability and in a few
years brought inflation down from almost 15% back to about three. But what had to be gone through,
a severe recession, folly markets,
and bankruptcies. Volcker acted within the framework of the Milton Friedman's ideas.
The concept is called monetarism. The essence is simple. The less money there is in the system,
the lower the demand, the lower the demand, the less pressure on prices. According to Fed research,
every $10 increase in oil adds about 20 basis points to inflation. According to the Fed research,
every $10 increase in oil adds about 20 basis points to inflation.
every $10 increase in oil prices adds about 20 basis points to inflation. If oil stays above
110, inflation could rise to about 3.5%. But today's situation is much more complicated in
the 80s. Back then, global debt was about 100% of the world GDP. It now exceeds 330%. The economy has become much more sensitive to interest rates. What could be done under Volcker
today could break the financial system faster than it could stop inflation. The paradox of the
current situation is that monetary policy continues to be eased amid rising oil prices.
Inflation could accelerate again. But if we fight by tightening policy, it could trigger a financial crisis,
which is already being talked about openly.
CPI data will be released on Wednesday.
That'll probably be a pretty big
and impactful CPI print this week.
The forecasts do not look encouraging.
If the data turns out to be worse than expected,
the market could experience a new round of chaos.
If it is better than the forecast,
the markets will simply get a little more time.
It's important to understand how the markets interpret the data.
They do not evaluate the figure itself, but how it will affect further monetary policy
and interest rate cuts.
If inflation turns out to be higher than expected, it will be a double trigger.
The dollar will rise and pressure will be exerted on other markets.
And let me remind you that separately, what stagflation is, rise in unemployment, the
latest data has already surprised the market.
Unemployment is sort of 4.4% rise in inflation.
Given the rise in oil prices and oil derivatives, inflation may indeed turn out to be higher
than forecast.
Economic slowdown, we're talking about GDP growth.
In the last publication, the data jumped from 4.4% to 1.4%.
4 to 1.4. It's a huge gap in direct evidence of the economic slowdown. The Fed has long
It's a huge gap in direct evidence of an economic slowdown.
stopped calling crisis, crises, recessions, recessions, and tagflation, stagflation.
No one will tell you directly, but the signs will be there. You're right next on article,
my friend. I'll pin this whole thing up top. If you want to read it all for yourself,
phonics, appreciate you sharing. And I hope that was able to make a little more sense.
Appreciate you sharing.
And I hope that was able to make a little more sense.
And again, no one really knows, but I think the first person said, you know, history may
not repeat, but it rhymes.
We've seen some of this stuff previously.
We've seen oil shock.
We've seen conflicts in the Middle East.
East. And I think one of the big differences today is we do have Bitcoin. We do have another
asset class that for all intents and purposes didn't exist during those other times. And maybe
it's going to be interesting to see how it plays out for sure. Hopefully good for our bags.
But I think the bigger takeaway is be safe out there.
No one really knows which way we're heading.
Volatility probably is a sure thing.
If you are trading with leverage, take profits and stop losses and don't put any money in.
You can't afford to lose because with this sort of volatility, even what you may view
as like a conservative, all my liquidation levels are low, pretty conservative. One way or another
could wipe you out. Door, big flex here. Got gas yesterday, almost $26 to fill the Prius.
outrageous hopefully in two weeks when he gas again it'll be a little better funny guy funny guy
Outrageous. Hopefully in two weeks when I need gas again, it'll be a little better.
um the the zonko's back to the art takes it the ko x copy and gazer were both from the oh
that makes sense thanks for that yeah so looking at that open seat you know some of the trending
like the gazers and the x copy why they were popping on trending when they don't normally, was they were from the Gandhi exploit, some of the biggest losses in that.
So yeah, thanks for connecting that dot.
That makes sense.
Let's do this.
We've got half hour left.
If anyone is an oil expert or would like to get in on that conversation,
by all means, feel free to come up and correct anything I might have misspoke or drop your questions, comments in the chat while I'm not
the expert. I will do my best to get them answered. I might need to tap, I collectibles earlier, a good, good opportunity. I don't get
to talk about Seinfeld enough. So good opportunity to connect a couple of dots here. Not a, not
another magazine, but rather a ticket sale. Uh, whoever picked up this ticket on eBay tonight for $274, incredible piece.
It's a ticket from the three-game clip used on Seinfeld, the episode, The Letter. So it's an
actual ticket from Yankees game where they filmed a Seinfeld episode. And it's just, you never know
what may hold value someday. I also wonder how much of some of this stuff is now popping because of grading.
Like, I wonder what's that raw Sports Illustrated go for?
Probably not $229,000.
What would this raw ticket go for? Probably not 275 bucks. I don't know, but I do have to imagine
What would this raw ticket go for?
Probably not $275.
that the grading has had an impact on some of these, I don't know, like down the collectible
realm. It's not your Michael Jordan rookie card, but rather freaking Yankees ticket from
what is this, 1991?
Where's the date?
It's going to be a date on here.
I see Sunday, July 7th. Oh yeah, 91, right there.
Pretty, I'm not a buyer of that,
but if I had one, I would also not sell it.
I would collect it.
Maybe that's what I need to do.
It's just find ways to
show off more of the collectibles. I was at my mom's and I have a
couple of things there I need to next time I drive, I'll bring back home. But like a
Peyton Manning signed football, like personalized to Chris, number 18 Peyton Manning,
like a little Maurice Jones Drew mini helmet. Those are like, I guess, yeah, I could put them on like a bookshelf, but I do think,
and this is not a knock at Beezy, please don't take this the wrong way.
I still think there is a, an opportunity in the digital realm as, as more things come on chain,
we bring more of these assets, more of these RWAs on chain. How can I show those off other than,
bring more of these assets, more of these RWAs on chain.
How can I show those off other than, and maybe the answer is just, oh, it's your BZ profile.
I don't know.
Like, this is maybe not the best example, but I think like on cyber and like the idea
like show off all your digital NFTs in this digital world.
I think there's potentially something there.
I mean, I think more of a no-brainer market would be lending on Pokemon and cardboard RWAs.
But beyond that, I think a gallery, maybe this is, you know,
whether it's BZ or, you know, an open seat.
I think there's an opportunity on the open seat front to,
and I know you can have your galleries there and you can feature items.
It's just not quite what I'm, when I think of it in my head, what the, and I don't,
if I knew what it exactly would look like, I would ship it or either vibe coded or find someone to,
to partner with on it. I just don't know what it looks like. I just think that we haven't seen
the ultimate end state on how we will show off these digital collectibles, right? Like physical collectibles,
you could see like,
oh, I've got
a World Series baseball ticket
and a Super Bowl ticket.
No one cares about those, but me.
But they hold value to me
they hold value to me because I went to those games.
because I went to those games.
It was a personal experience.
How do I show off that digital version, right?
Like, is it, and it's not that deep, I guess.
I just, I do think there's an opportunity here,
something that we haven't fully discovered yet.
Even so much as like, I know frames,
digital frames are far ahead of where
they were in like 21, 2020, 2021, just wasn't easy to have a, you know, flush, you know, small
digital frame. And now you've got even like Samsung, it's, you know, core product line of
theirs. So frames have come a long way. That's one way to show off like digital art. I still think there's something else there before we get to like a ready player
one world where we're living in the virtual world all the time. I think there is an opportunity for
someone to build something to show off these, these digital collectibles. Um, and maybe I'm
the only one that cares, but I, um, I would, I would like to
I would, I would show it off if so.
Um, Dort, um, trying to figure out what's, uh, I just saw, I saw the post, um, talking
about showing off flexing your digital, your digital NFTs.
I think part of it too, why I'm going with this is like our PFP is,
you know, it's valuable real estate or it's a way to show off our NFTs. We have one PFP. Now you can
cycle through them. Dort does a good job of this, rocking his champion of vibes PFP today.
He said, woke up dark AF, figuratively and literally FU daylight saving time, crypto near
all time high fear, collectors I once held the line with,
arm-in-arm, capitulating,
selling the bottom,
conviction evaporating like droplets of water
in a hot cast-iron pan.
The only lending platform that matters,
Gandhi, was exploited.
Custodians looking for liquidity,
liquidated, will they recover?
Will they come back?
Maybe not, but I hope so.
The sentiment around crypto is extremely negative.
Ironically, I feel this is the kind of environment where big reversals sometimes happen
or sometimes begin. Many holders have a time horizon of years, not months,
but they've been saying that for years too. Waiting for the day they'll be right. The horizon
never gets timestamped. Just push back another year. Every year, like clockwork, still we're
early, sort of. I choose to believe that what we're doing is meaningful, that it matters, and the NFTs are inevitable, that someone will truly break
through. I still believe brands push in the envelope, but it's not easy to hold the line
when it feels like no one cares. You can get lonely out here. No one ever said keeping the
vibes immaculate would be easy. Being honest is part of it, but some of us are still here. I love NFTs. Love you, Dork. Good take.
And yes, I do think could be an opportunity to collect what you want to collect.
There's assets out there that you've had your eyes on for a while.
Maybe go make some wheat offers.
But do so with the intentions of it very well could go lower before it bounces.
I think if you're probably a risky market to be looking to make short-term flips,
but I think opportunity to potentially collect
what you want to collect, build positions
that you might not be able to build otherwise.
Maybe it's a grail.
Maybe it's sweeping and building a larger position
than you normally would.
I guess where I wouldn't come back to is like what, however this plays out, whether we get
a recession or no recession, what does that mean for NFTs, for the digital collectibles?
What does it mean for bringing in new participants? You know,
we're talking about Hyperliquid, and that's pretty easy dot to connect, how that might be
a wave to onboard new users. Well, it's extremely volatile market. There's crazy world events
happening right now. And people want to get,
they want to get in trades without having to wait until Monday morning.
They want to get in when stuff's happening.
I'm not saying it's with,
actually, I will say it's with it.
I think a lot of the news
and probably even some action
takes place on Friday afternoon,
evening, over the weekend
to kind of insulate the impact on markets.
I think some of the,
I'm not saying all,
it's not a conspiracy theory,
but I think some announcements are made,
and this isn't even just like the government or Trump,
but rather even like corporations,
they'll news dump on Friday afternoon
to help to attempt to mitigate any,
you know, any sell-off or any negative price action.
This just is what it is.
So knowing that,
to me, like logical step is these people that are traders or investors
or pay attention to this stuff, they're going to want to get access before Monday morning.
That exists today.
So the whole hyperliquid thesis and bringing in traders on chain, I think that's happening.
traders on chain, I think that's happening. I think it's logical to connect the dot for
physical RWAs, platforms like BZ and bringing these physical cards on chain. It's just better.
People are seeing that the less friction, the ability to... I guess you can have a claw machine with physical collectibles in there, but you're not going to get an instant swap value on most of those.
At least I don't know of any.
It's just better.
And then they haven't even turned on yet the ability to tap into liquidity and take loans on the physical cardboard.
I think it will happen.
And again, it would just be better,
far easier to do than it can do off-chain. And not that everything has to be a on-chain
versus off-chain comparison, but those to me are, it's easy to connect dots in terms of like how
this could onboard more people, how it could bring in more people on-chain. Well, traders,
can bring in more people on chain.
Well, traders, 24-7 is better than 40 hours a week
during the weekday.
With RWAs, it unlocks a lot that you can't do off-chain.
Forget the friction, the less friction,
and the just easier to buy and sell.
It allows you to tap into additional liquidity.
It allows you to play more fun games with it.
When I come back to PFP NFTs,
I'm still a firm believer.
I love the idea, the concept of these,
you know, the club element,
the access, the, you know,
Steve and friends were talking about
the Fly Fish Club recently,
Gary Vee's restaurant in New York City.
That just makes sense.
And by making that pass, that membership and NFT, great for many reasons.
One, you know who your customers are.
Two, the holder has the ability to sell that, potentially take a loan out on that. It
makes it a more functional asset. When it comes to the PFP NFT, I wonder
what is it going to be if there is another big wave of new active participants, not just those
that are here and trading around and holding the line on collections we're passionate about.
And maybe the answer is it's years, if not decades out.
You know, Pokemon celebrating its 30th anniversary did not have this success overnight.
You know, NFTs as a technology has been around for about a decade.
The reality is most of the NFT PFP industry reallyp industry really well yeah punks were earlier but it really
things kicked off in 21 with board apes and the in the subsequent mania so still very very very
early on that front is it going to be something like klaino's, that team that has talked about, you know, giving equity, gifting equity to those holders?
Is it going to be, which, by the way, I had it pulled up earlier when, when Cab was out there.
I was going to, I was going to share, I'll go ahead and share it now.
They're collectors collecting. You see, it's not necessarily a brand new
data point, but continues to be strong. 37,000 Klano characters exist,
only 575 available on secondaries for collectors. 69% of wallets hold just one Klano.
Great above average distribution. I agree. And I think this is,
as that brand grows and give it a realistic decade-long timeline to achieve the IP success
and fandom of something like a Toy Story or fill in the blank, great IP, takes decades.
And over the course of time, I could see fans of the IP wanting to collect the
rookie cards, wanting to collect the NFTs. And they do a good job with their ecosystem with
creative rewards and kind of gamifying the collecting experience, as does Good Vibes Club.
I just, short of all those things, though, takes a lot of time, takes years, if not decades.
Just short of all those things, though, takes a lot of time, takes years, if not decades.
And I'm curious if anyone has any thoughts, what might be an earlier catalyst that brings in waves of new collectors, active participants, before the IP just becomes, you know, well-known across the world.
Dow Jones, always a pleasure.
It's been too long, buddy.
Appreciate you jumping up this
morning what brought you up gm gm gm i don't know i got here a little late i was working early this
morning uh just wondering if you had covered the fact that pudgy world is dropping today
there's a discord they got a mission and uh you know everyone should hop in that discord and they
will help you find poly to open up the full world but yeah pudgy world's dropping today
and i wasn't sure if we had covered that yet we'd not no thanks for sharing i saw people talk about
i didn't realize that it was today do we know what time it's dropping i haven't checked the
timestamp like i said i've been going around the clock with work i'm gonna go dive into that today
i'll post it in the war room when i find it i will say that your boy is a
character in the game so if you see me take a screenshot send it to me i'll try and do something
for you but yeah pudgy world drops today baby congrats best looking pudgy i will um look for
those screenshots if you grab it if you see dow jones and pudgy world grab that screenshot
uh so here's the post uh says tomorrow pudgy world we've got a follow from pudgy world give them a follow back um we're assembling a team to help pingu and poly
to help pingu find poly somewhere in pudgy world sign up here i so i did sign up for this early
what yes they had some beta testers and out pre-alpha and all that stuff but it officially
drops a lie for everybody today.
Everyone's open today, so you don't need to be loud-listed or white-listed
as soon as it drops.
Browser-based, play it on your phone, on your computer, whatever you want.
I have heard that it is much better, obviously, connecting a controller
like all of these browser-based games are,
so Bluetooth up to your laptop or your iPad, whatever you want to do,
but get in there and find me in there before your sister does.
Very cool. Oh, we actually got a, I dig it, a very Fortnite-esque map. Where are you dropping in Pudgy World? So we got Redacted,
Beverly Chills, Pudgy Peaks, Bullcut Beach, Coral Cove, blubber Bay, pudgy port, Pingu Plaza,
boogie bird, ice breaker alley, whispering hollow, jamboree square, square. Do we know,
like, what is the world? Is it going to be like a, you know, shooter game like Fortnite and you're,
you're, you're getting dropped in and and you're or is it more exploring these
different mini games at all these different um you know places i just mentioned yeah i believe
it's open world they sent me the early access but i've been so busy snowboarding all winter i haven't
even signed in so i do believe it's open world tons of mini games different missions um i do
know you need to find polly to open up the full map So it'll basically be like a tutorial style
When you start, you find Polly
I know that they are integrating all these traits from all the toys finally
I don't know how many of them will be active on the first day
They talked about it a little bit on the Inner Igloo
But shortly after release you will have all your traits
That you were able to get from the toys in there
And I do know that they're trying to integrate all big pudgy traits right off the rip and move into little
pudgy traits shortly thereafter very cool is this is it on chain is it on abstract what what do we
know anything yes sir it's on abstract interesting so this very well could be i've been pretty vocal
i feel abstract needs their flagship dap. Like what's, why Abstract?
What differentiates it from any other chain out there?
I'm not saying it's a guarantee that Pudge World is it,
but absolutely could be it.
If it's a home run, if it's a smashing hit,
well, all of a sudden, from my perspective,
Abstract levels up big time.
Right now, I don't think it has a flagship DAP.
No offense to anyone that's building on Abstract. If anything, it's probably Z is the most unique that's specific to abstract you can't
get elsewhere. A lot of the other stuff, it's just, it's very similar slight variants that you
have on other chains. And I don't know if anyone is, you know, I'm sure some are loyal to the chain,
but I don't know if there's anything keeping them there. Let's say post-GGE, if the volume's not there,
if the TVL's not there, I could see some leaving.
Pudgy World, different story.
They're not taking Pudgy World elsewhere.
And let's talk about what it is.
With the following on the Instagram and all the other socials,
if they get even a fraction of that over here to abstract,
now all of a sudden you're really getting some active users.
Hopefully the game's entertaining and people start playing playing it i'll be in there like i said
find my mission um i don't know if legally they were able to call me dow jones but you guys know
what the penguin looks like i'm in there and uh yeah i'll be playing the game username dow jones
find me in there let's play awesome man well congrats i'll pop in there later today as well
i probably overdo him had luca on for a while um maybe luca or someone on the team we should have on this
week to talk about pudgy world and and uh we'll do some we will we will explore a little bit
tomorrow on the show i am i'm rooting for him i'm really excited and i mean to tie this all
together i was like wait what's the next? What's going to onboard new active participants, new users into the NFT PFP world?
And while these are big swings, open worlds are very challenging.
When you have the social approach, like I think this is, it's one thing for a influencer,
KOL or streamer personality to have a big pudgy penguin stuffed animal in
their background or to wear some pudgy penguin merch. I think it's different when they, because
that's like in and out of the viewers. They may see it. Maybe it does drive some brand awareness,
help proliferate that IP. But at the end of the day, there's nothing there. Then they
move on, they forget about it. Whereas something like this, it's a hit, and you have people,
streamers and gamers spending time in there and playing. Now, all of a sudden, there's a real
direct path to top of funnel, a real direct path, not only to introducing people to the brand,
but interacting with the brand, becoming active participants. And then,
And then, I don't know, maybe there are added perks
for holding a big pudgy or a little pudgy.
Maybe you can earn Pingu in this world.
Or maybe streaming on Abstract, right?
Now all of a sudden you're back to your,
trying to pump up your streaming on Abstract.
Maybe you get some bonuses for doubling down there.
Bingo, bingo.
And I think that think and then one
more thing cap i know everybody always wants to talk to luca but don't sleep on pp mctweets
he's our community lead i think anyone who's got a penguin and is in the penguin community knows
he's the unsung hero of us i'm sure he'd be happy to come on and talk anytime too he's excellent
yeah good call good call i was i was thinking of pp when i lu Orr or Luca And, great representative of the brand and out there putting in the work.
So yeah, whether Luca or PP McTweets or someone else on the team, I think we will do our best to get someone on this week and if not next week.
But yeah, I want to go get in there, explore a little bit, rooting for it.
I do think it's stuff
like this. It's stuff like other side that are massive, big swings. And twofold one, it gives
for abstract Pudgy world gives them a flagship app, just like other side is for Ape chain. And
these are ways to introduce new users,
new fans of the IP,
new fans of the brand to blockchain technology
without them having to download a wallet,
without them having to figure out blockchain technology.
The abstract single sign-on,
the glyph single sign-on,
both very easy for not just
your non-crypto native friend or family member,
but for kids.
They can get in there, and maybe I should check myself.
I'm sure there's some age-gated stuff.
But really, it's super easy to get in and just start playing.
I say I've not done this for Pudgy World,
but I'm guessing it'll be similar to the other abstract S experience
where you can get in with an email, and you're you're off and running. And, and then what the tech unlocks, just what we're talking about,
RWA is baseball cards, sports cards, Pokemon, it's better on chain. So unlocks, you can do
things you can't do off chain. Same thing here. Like not every move, not every element of this
needs to be on chain, but when you can, for instance, earn things like, again, assuming similar to, I'm guessing,
I don't know, but I'm guessing like just how you can earn Ape in Other Side, you might be able to
earn Pingu in Pudgy World. Even if not, just the idea to, the ability to get your character
featured, right? You think about how popular things like Fortnite skins are and people buy and collect at a point where they'll sell their original account. Imagine, I don't know, as your average Fortnite player, it's not like
Fortnite's going to make you part of the big season, the upcoming season. You might be able
to buy Star Wars. You can buy the Star Wars skin or the Spider-Man theme. Just the fact like,
I, as a fan of Dow Jones,
it's cool to me to be able to go in there
and see my friends' IP in a world like this.
And that is, I think,
one of the things that the masses
really haven't connected the dots with
when it comes to this blockchain technology,
these NFT PFPs, and the corresponding
avatars that come with them. I still think it's a big deal. And I'm rooting for Pudgies. I'm rooting
for Pudgy World, for OtherSide. It's a ways to go. But I do believe with how fast we're seeing
AI develop, the tools are becoming, they're already far greater today than they were even a couple of years ago. As that trend continues, I just, I see this,
and maybe this is a bad example
because it's so far out there,
but this Ready Player One-esque type world
is just, it's really cool.
And I think in that world,
if it becomes a fraction of what we think of
like Ready Player One,
you're going to want to own your assets.
You're going to like,
the ability to feature your assets in these worlds.
Like, that's really cool.
It's like, it'd be like starring in a movie
alongside your favorite movie stars.
Like, it's just, I want to see this win.
I know a lot of dots have to be connected
and the tokenomics and economics of this stuff
all has to work.
Like, it's got to be profitable.
At some point, they got to be making a little bit of money to keep the lights on.
And I know that's much easier said than done.
But I really do think there's something here that that original idea of the metaverse or
the open world and why it makes sense to have these assets on chain still holds.
Like it's still very real.
It's just very hard to execute. And, you know, a lot of
variables, a little bit of luck involved, whether it be timing or market conditions or whatnot. But
we never get there if we don't have teams like Yuga and Igloo taking big swings. And congratulations
to all, not just the team, but all the, you know, the diehard community members that have been
really promoting Pudgy World for years now.
I'm excited to see it come online and looking forward to jumping in and exploring a little bit.
Go ahead, Dow.
Yeah, one last thing, and this is kind of a nod to the other side, in my opinion.
They were talking about our InterAgglu meetings, our biweekly huddle meetings are going to start happening in Pudgy World.
Apparently, there's a town square.
They're working on expanding the proximity chat because, obviously, we get 300 people all day, every day in there.
So to have that proximity chat, it's got to get expanded a little bit.
But apparently, in two weeks, we just had an inner igloo yesterday.
But in two weeks, inner igloos will start also be held in Pudgy World.
So you can get in there, hang out with your friends, and kind of bring that a little bit more to life awesome nope good to know and
those inner igloos i'm guessing even though they'll be held in pudgy world still going to be
gated like you have to hold a big pudgy or a little pudgy to participate or pengu
how much pengu do you have to hold to participate in the current versions of the Interiglo?
You know what?
I don't know because obviously I hold the Penguin, so I never really thought about it.
But if I had to put a number on it, I would assume 8,888, right?
Yep, I would guess as well.
Doort adds, had no idea this was coming so soon.
I didn't either.
It was kind of like I knew it was coming and just it didn't either it was kind of like like i thought it like knew it was coming
and just it snuck up on me and i guess good idea keeping or good on them for keeping things under
wrap and launching with some excitement and you know what respect for shipping in this environment
i think there's several teams out there you know it almost got canned right so like they weren't
really happy with the the iteration that was getting put out and uh luca put a hard time
stamp on when they need to be finished and then be happy with it and i guess the devs made up with it
i forgot what company they said is helping them do it but it's one of these famous gaming companies
i couldn't tell you you know i don't know my ass from my elbow when it comes to these gaming
companies but apparently they delivered peter and luca are super happy with it so it's dropping wow
Apparently they delivered.
Peter and Luca are super happy with it.
So it's dropping.
That is exciting, man.
I'm pumped for yourself for being in there.
I'm pumped for all the Pudgy community.
And again, respect for shipping during a market like this.
A lot of teams would just defer or wait and wait for better conditions,
like build something
you're proud of,
get it out there in the wild.
And I actually,
I know I said this before
when it came to like
blockchain launches,
I think it's a good time.
Like down markets,
depressed markets,
I think it's a good time
to launch experiences like this.
I think back to like Zed Run.
When I got really deep in Zed Run,
the market was like crazy pullbacks.
Like markets were not great, but I didn't care.
I wasn't paying attention because the game was fun.
And I wasn't worried about FOMOing,
oh, I got to miss this mint or this trade.
Like I could just, you know, like spend that time in game
and experimenting and playing around
and learning it deeper
because there wasn't a lot of else stuff going on.
And so I do think there's kind
of the silver lining here on a down or depressed market is that you don't have quite the attention
challenge. You don't have quite like the new shiny toy everywhere. And I do think it could
actually be beneficial for this market. One question for you, Dow, and not that you're
speaking for the team or not holding you to this but dork did ask uh other is this other side competition or apples and oranges how can
you i mean just like to that question is this do you think this is direct competition to other side
or is it an apples and oranges comparison i wouldn't call it apples and oranges and i wouldn't
call it competition i do think this is a natural evolution of kind of where these IP brands go,
which is how the world works today. You know, games,
interactive play is kind of seems to be what they all would like the end game
to be. I do think it's a very different game than other side.
I think it's going to be more, um, club penguin ask, you know,
more of like a kind of a place, maybe more towards Roblox,
where you can go in there and build your own mini games eventually. And the other side,
I think of more of a graphic experience. You know, I could see them being a lot more tech and detail oriented, and this kind of be a more fun past the time kind of game.
So for example, when I think of other side, I think of gaming monitors, gaming chairs,
and people really dialed in.
And I see this much more as someone playing this for fun on the train.
So I do think that they're two very different things.
And I don't think competition is the word I would use.
And I also don't think that we have enough users in this space to bring competition to anything.
I think if you like gaming and you're in Web3, you should probably be in there playing both of them.
Yep. Well said. I agree.
And you said playing on the train. Do we know is like,
will this be live on mobile as well or desktop browser?
Yes, sir. Yep. It's live on mobile. It's going to be live on desktop browser.
I heard that you can even get like on your Amazon fire stick and go up in the browser version and play like that as well. Pretty cool.
Yeah, it snuck up on me.
I knew it was coming,
know it was coming for a while.
Yeah, Mike Sead's other side isn't a game.
I get the same sense with Pudgy World as well.
Like, there'll be many games inside of it,
but Pudgy World,
I like how Dow Jones phrased it, so I i will try to one-up that but i think
these experiences these worlds where um others can build in whether it's the team building many games
and many experiences or i think best case scenarios eventually get to a point where it's open and
I think best case scenario is you eventually get to a point where it's open and others can build experiences in there a la Roblox.
Looks like you need 250,000 Pingu to participate in the Inner Igloo.
I'm guessing it's 250,000 Pingu, not $250,000 worth of Pingu.
That was probably correct.
Beepic and Katie both added that in the chat. Thank you very much.
Beepic also did some beta testing,
so it was great.
His son loved it.
Monkeys and flightless birds.
That's the apples and oranges.
It's monkeys and flightless birds.
It's about the closest we get to apples and oranges here.
In all seriousness, I'm rooting for OtherSide.
I'm rooting for PudgyWorld.
I do believe they both can win.
I agree with Dow.
Like, we all have so much more in common than we don't.
And you can have some fun.
You can compare things.
But this should not be a PvP.
This should not be all your,
your, you hold codas and your other deeds and you're building out another side.
I think this is an opportunity to be rooting for Pudgy World as well. I don't think it's a
us versus them. I think it's us versus the world. Sorry for the cheesy
take there, but I do think this is one of them winning. It could be winning big, could be very
good for the other one as well. And competition is a good thing. Even though we're not calling
it direct competition, almost inevitably, you're going to see some experiences, so many games,
some things built that others might take inspiration from. I.e., you talk about other
games and other balls and
everything that Machiavelli is doing over there, like community-led grassroots initiatives.
I think you could also see some similar community-led grassroots initiatives happening in
Pudgy World.
You know, since I was sharing Dort's comment, you know, I give a lot of love for, not enough,
but I give love for Welcome Apes and all the, you know, that I think is one of the best,
if not the best grassroots community led initiative in all of crypto, at least PFP,
NFT land. And yeah, others should be doing stuff similar. Like just because there's a welcome apes
doesn't mean you can't have a welcome pudgies, call it something different if you want. I just,
that sort of stuff makes sense. And I think part of what makes web three so great, and
I believe it was
walt disney said he never he never uh copied it or never stole an idea he didn't like you know in
school they called it cheating um but in the business world it's masterminding find something
that works and put your own twist on it make it work for you as well go ahead dal yeah one last
thing before i drop down i mean there's a reason why some days you feel like watching game of thrones and the other days you feel like watching the office you know what i
mean there's plenty of room out there based on what you're feeling to do two different things
and i kind of feel that's more of what we're seeing here i think one is going to be kind of
more of a softer base and the other one is a little bit more of a hardcore gamer base so
there's room for everything sometimes you want to watch adamler. Sometimes you want to watch a shoot them up,
gory flick,
just based on your mood.
I think you're more looking at here as opposed to a competition or
apples and oranges.
Well said.
Appreciate it.
Appreciate you.
ST McFly says I did the beta test can confirm Dow Jones looks great.
I can't wait to see the kimono in there.
yeah, congrats again.
Well-deserved.
And part of what I love about these worlds as well is not just the worlds, but when these teams are building more of this, more of highlighting your community leaders, your
community members, and it doesn't always need to be a financial reward, right?
financial reward, right? I think just simply like being the IP that you own being utilized in these,
whether it be toys or worlds, like more of that, I think it's great. And it's part of what can
make owning these assets so special is when you get to see it, see them highlighted by the parent
brands. McAvely, I saw you fly up here. Any, any quick takes on Pudgy World?
It just, you're not able to, you're not allowed to FUD Pudgy World because it's not all the
Oh, no, I mean, I'm not, I'm not trying to FUD anything with the Penguins.
I'm a, I'm an ally, if anything.
I'm excited to see the full release and, and, and see how gameplay is and stuff like that.
I do think it's apples and oranges.
I don't, I, I don't think that they're,
they're the same at all.
uh, but they're still in the same fruit basket,
I guess you could say,
I'm excited to see just how they move and,
how it takes off.
I'm really shocked that it's on mobile.
I didn't think that it would be on mobile.
I know that Pudgy Party was,
but I didn't,
I didn't think that,
Pudgy World was actually going to be on mobile.
And I went looking for it right now.
I couldn't find it. Um, so I don't know if that's releasing World was actually going to be on mobile, and I went looking for it right now. I couldn't find it.
So I don't know if that's releasing on mobile later
or if it's later, like, maybe just today.
Well, yeah, it hasn't lost anywhere.
The public launch hasn't happened yet, so I presume once.
I did find it interesting that the team took Otherside.io
and it leads you to the Pudgy World lobby.
I did think that that was a little scandalous.
That definitely shows that there's competition there.
They might be a little worried,
but if you type in Otherside.io,
it leads you to Pudgy World lobby.
So I just thought that was a little scandalous.
The community had been talking about it
the past few weeks and stuff like that.
I'm not going to
hate the player. Game respect game
there. Yeah, game respect game.
Touche. Touche.
domains secured.
This is, so I did,
I typed in otherside.io,
took me to lobby.pledgeandworld.com
and it looks like it is
looks like he's getting close. So congrats again to the hudgingworld.com. And it looks like it is,
looks like it's getting close.
So congrats again to the huddle today.
Also speaking of the huddle,
yes, Dort, it is.
Welcome to the huddle.
Welcome Pingu is the handle.
They did, they do have their own version of Welcome Apes.
Really, really cool.
You know, I'm doubling down.
Welcome Apes is the best grassroots community-led initiative because not only is it doing wonders for
the Board of Yacht Club and welcoming new members and getting people off on the good start there,
you've seen others basically, this is truly an example of imitation is the highest form of
flattery. I can't speak for Dohert at at all this all, but I think everyone involved in WelcomeApes
would be proud and think it's pretty cool to see other brands like Pingu, like Pudgy's
doing the same thing with their Welcome to the Huddle account, leading in and doing,
I don't know if they have a monthly meeting or not, but can see here just in the last
day, welcoming some new members.
I absolutely love it.
Respect to everyone out there.
I have no idea who's on that.
Welcome to the Huddle team.
Well done.
Again, kudos to Dort and Lal and Marav and everyone else that's involved in Welcome Apes.
Pudgy World different from the other side.
Yeah, I agree, Diego.
He said he tested it. They are pretty. Um, so yeah, excited to explore
more. We'll be talking about it tomorrow morning for sure. And, uh, appreciate everyone who tuned
in today. Stay safe out there. Markets are going to market. Volatility probably is the one
certainty. Just, uh, just make sure you're using your, your tools, your stop losses,
your take profits, and don't put any money in.
You can't afford to lose.
I'm not a financial advisor, certainly not your financial advisor.
So I hope you didn't join for that.
I hope you joined just for some fun, some information, maybe a little bit of education along the way.
And tomorrow we'll be talking a little bit about Pudgy World and getting in there after the world opens up.
So if you get in there deep today and you find out any alpha or anything that you find particularly cool, do plan to join us tomorrow. Either bring your comments in the
chat or jump up on stage. I think Outer will be back with us tomorrow for Tuesday. A little under
the weather last week, but she's sending her best to everyone. And yeah, Doris says, very proud of
communities rising up and rolling out the red carpet for new members. Kudos to them. Yeah,
kudos to everyone doing that.
And Diego says we can all grow here.
It's not about PVP.
Digital animal JPEGs took over the normies.
Well said, Diego.
One of my favorites.
You're all my favorite.
Appreciate y'all being here.
I'll get some rest tonight.
I'll catch up on my sleep and be a little more crisp tomorrow. My voice should be able to make it through the entire show a little better.
We won't get raspy cap tomorrow.
But again, thank you all for being here.
Greatly appreciate it.
And as Steve would say, I hope you all have a wonderful, wonderful day, everyone. you
