all right good evening
i'm a pimp
i'm a stuffed up pimp today
my nose hurts
not gonna lie
covid be hitting hard this time only in the
only in the sinus uh way though like not in any other way i didn't get the body
eggs i didn't get anything i just got you know a little bit of a sore throat
for four days and then now my face hurts it just hurts
um but hi welcome to another episode of pimp radio
plug your music please episode i don't know because i don't keep track
welcome fondue how are you
oh i am doing fan-fucking-tastic
had a good uh producer call today and uh
been getting some tracking done on another song
and take my time goes live in three hours and 28 minutes
um right yeah yeah three hours 28 minutes yeah so
but it's a good day wild love it love to hear it um cool so
we're i mean we'll be in here when it goes live and we'll be able to
talk about it and share it and post it up at the top and all that fun stuff
i'm excited um yeah i'm i don't know if i'm going to be
able to sing today i have been singing today that's the
thing is just do i want to allow the the masses of pimp radio to hear me
sing today because i'm stuffed up and not feeling 100
maybe maybe i will maybe i will expose myself
in my uh stuffed up vulnerabilities but not yet not yet um i
realize i forget i did not schedule the space until today
because i was an idiot and forgot and i knew we were going to be
doing this yesterday so i i don't know why i didn't schedule
it but i'm sure our usual crew will eventually
roll in here um hint hint nudge nudge
repost the space we all know the drill by now do the thing
i see some og's in here day from long island is in here
i'm so excited to chat with you hopefully you get a sec to come up i
know you're probably on daddy duty but i hope you uh i hope you hit that
request button soon luchi pala welcome
i am sending this out in the dms just getting
more people in here but in the meantime uh
maybe i mean do we want to do the theme song now or do we want to wait until
some more people roll through i mean i don't care if you want me to play a
song i'll play a song it doesn't even have to be the theme song i can save the
theme song when things are bumping that's true
you know i don't mind i'm in uh i'm in a playing type of mood today
sweet glad to hear it um okay cool we'll quickly say what up to
dave from long island and then maybe start us off with a song
ah what's up guys what's up dave i was actually hoping to
jump up very quickly to say hello and as per my normal 8 30 arrangement i
will disappear for about 20 to 30 minutes do some praying do some
putting the kids to bed and uh i'll be back hopefully to play a song maybe the
line won't be too long so maybe if i slide in a good word now
you might like i don't know it'll be 20 now you might hook me up later
who knows i mean listen listen definitely like juice in the pockets is a
great way to ensure that we just bump you to the top
so if anyone um comes later and is like whoa whoa dave's cutting the line like
i'm here i'm here first don't worry listen they're gonna
they're gonna they're gonna listen to me and whatever i say the list is the list
sergeant fondue gets to tell us what to do so
that's just how she goes but yeah uh have fun with daddy duty
and when you come back definitely come up here and and we'll get you
top top of the line uh you know listen you know i will be back i love it and
i'm joking around i will i will gladly wait and listen it's all good but
whatever whatever you can do slips twenty dollars to whatever we
don't worry about it but you know whatever we can do
i don't know i don't even know it's cool guys i love you guys i'll talk to you
soon cool chat soon
oh okay it's a d not a oh i mean you can keep talking it's all good
i was just like these chords for this song that i haven't played in a while
um i've heard you're gonna play first so i've heard cara play this song a couple
times and it reminded me that i used to cover it a lot
um and i kind of stopped and i think i only stopped because i just
didn't have a song file in my in my lyrics folder
but uh let's see if i can remember how to play it
what's it gonna be
no don't you
tell myself that we could be more than
just friends i know you think that if we
looked too soon it would all end i'll live in misery
when you're not around
and i won't be satisfied to be taking those vows
that we don't love making heartbreak it's all shaking
whoa whoa whoa love making heartbreak it's all shaking
well what's it gonna be cuz i can't pretend
that you're gonna be more than friends love you tight and don't let go
don't let go you have the right to lose control
don't let go
i often fantasize the stars above watching you
they know my heart speak to yours like only lovers if i
got calls and i was you and lose control
would that be some love making heartbreak it's all shaking
whoa whoa whoa love making heartbreak it's all shaking
what's it gonna be i can't pretend
no don't you want to be more than friends
hold me tight and don't let go don't let go
you have the right to lose control don't let go
running in and out of my life it's got me so confused
you gotta make the sacrifice somebody's gotta choose
we can make it if we try for the sake of you and i
together we can make it right would that be some love making
heartbreak it's all shaking whoa whoa whoa love making
heartbreak it's all shaking what's it gonna be i can't pretend no
don't you want to be more than friends you hold me tight and don't let go
don't let go you have the right to lose control
don't let go
something like that
i loved i loved that oh my god i have not heard that
in such a long time that it took me a minute and then i was like oh snap i
know this song um and i'll have i'll have you know
that my cat luna she has this recent fascination with the phone
like she'll just come and sit with me and just like watch me on my phone
and she was sleeping at the end of the bed i'm sitting on my bed right now
and i put my phone on a pillow and um like in front of me and she was
sleeping at the end of the bed and right when you started playing she
got up and she she came and she like sat right in
front of the phone like her face was just right in front of the phone and she
just watched she just watched she's like oh my god
this is beautiful so she really liked it too
that's awesome just call me dr do a little no cats always love
and that's the problem like they love me and and i love to be allergic to them
oh my god yeah i remember you saying you're just like definitely allergic to
cats and i'm starting to think i'm i'm at least mildly allergic to my dog too
which is uh its own problem but uh oh that
sucks yeah that was fun and you don't want to
have to take like allergy pills all the time they're not good for you
no no i don't i i don't like to take a lot of pills in general
but yeah it is the it is the struggle it's too late now i mean i ain't getting
rid of the dog i'll tell you that so it's i'm just
traditionally not allergic to short-haired dogs usually it's long-haired
dogs but he just he sheds like way crazier than i expected
like a lot more that's brutal so your sinuses are just always
yeah well i'm i mean as a general rule i tend to like wake up a little congested
but usually it clears up by the afternoon um but yeah my sinuses are always
always a mess pretty much yeah that's i mean that's lovely as a singer
that's exactly what you need right i guess yeah if i'm gonna phoebe
buffet it you know oh my god well thank you for
opening us up with a song that was lovely as per usual
um and this is an invitation to anybody in the audience that would like to come
up and play or even just chat right now obviously it's
not super busy start of the night um so if you want to
come up hit that request button oh my god my cat is like fucking loving
life right now i don't know she's just really happy
um i i don't know if i'm gonna say i don't know if i'm gonna sing i'm so
stuffed up because like i said i have covet but
part of me would like to um yeah maybe i will maybe i'll sing a song
just to get things rolling if i have to stop and like cough or
something don't mind me um what do you think some boiler room
uh i always vote for boiler room um or like if you're looking for an
alternate uh i would go all the way back to taking
you down okay well we're gonna start with boiler
room just because take me down is a little bit tougher for me to sing with
my congested face maybe i'll sing it later
but here we go
you don't know me like you want to
and i'm sorry but i don't think you ever will
no you don't know the fault truth and it's funny that you seem to think you
because i got one thing on my mind i got one thing on my mind i got one
thing on my mind and it's not you
you don't need me like you say you do
trust me baby i can't be the one to pull you through
you just tease me and you make me feel so
small so why should i put you on a pedestal
one two three four so i got one thing on my mind
i got one thing on my mind i got one thing on my mind
it's not you no it's not you no i got one thing on my mind
i've got one thing on my mind i got one thing on my mind and it's
it's not you i guess i'm just better at singing
love songs in fact i don't feel like i've ever
written one at all it's just when i feel like it's my
time to fall you come around and prove that i was
better on my own so i got one thing on my mind i got one
thing on my mind i got one thing on my mind and it's
not you no it's not you no i got one thing on my mind
i've got one thing on my mind i got one thing on my mind and it's
it's not you it's the fact that i can't breathe right now through
my left nostril
yeah that was that was really good especially being sick like that's
ridiculous i have a hard time singing when i'm
sick because i always get the tickle in the back of the throat and have to cough
and it's just like never feels like it's worth it but
that was great thank you dude do you know how lucky i am
so i i haven't had a chance to like talk about this with people yet i just
posted about it but i am so fucking lucky that my show got
postponed i was supposed to be playing literally
in like 20 minutes i would have been going on stage
at rivoli which is a solid venue i was really stoked for this show
20 minutes from right now i would have been going on stage
to perform a 30 minute set and i am not well like i have fucking
covid my nose is so like blocked up i i have the tickle in the throat like i
can get i can do like one song and then take a
break and then do another song like i can manage that but to do a 30 minute
set um no it just it would not have been good
and the problem would have been i couldn't cancel i mean i could have
canceled but um i needed to be able to give them
21 days notice i think or else i would have owed them 200 bucks
for like promo and like all that kind of shit and i
think i would have had to like like out of pocket just refund
tickets that i sold so um but yeah the show got postponed because
the city of toronto randomly decided to shut down power at
rivoli today and they like there was nothing that
could be done so they reached out to us and said okay
the show's postponed to march 8th and i was like fuck yeah
awesome i'm sick as fucking shit right now so
i don't know maybe the universe was like answering my prayers because i was so
so not stoked like i was stoked but i was so not stoked to be sick for that
show so i got very lucky
yeah that sounds like it sometimes those things just come together
you know that was like for me i was supposed to do that new year's eve gig
and five hours before i'm supposed to be there
like it's a two-hour drive for me so i i was hitting him up early and like hey
just making sure we're you know same times
and he goes oh no he goes actually we've got you playing tomorrow
and truly like playing on new year's day was way better than playing on new
year's eve i got to go out and enjoy new year's eve have a good time hang with
the homies and uh but yeah like sometimes it just
comes together when it's supposed to yeah sometimes things just work out
so yeah i got really lucky and they could have moved it to
like i don't know if they could have but um you know if it got moved to this
friday i probably wouldn't have been better by
then so the fact that they moved it to next
friday fuck yeah let's go i was so happy and it means like more people can
come out because it was on a wednesday um initially obviously like i said
uh and a lot of people that i was reaching out to were like oh shit i
can't come out i've i've got to work early in the morning
like wednesday's kind of a tough day to get people to come out
so um now that it's a friday so many more people are buying tickets so
yeah it just it worked out for everybody i think
i'm very happy about how things panned out
so yeah and we get to do pimp radio so yay yeah let's go i mean everybody's
everybody's seeming a little shy today you know they're just like they're
sopping up that they're getting kind of like a free show from us right
you know that's not how they do
i mean right now i assume that i should just play another song
fuck yeah now the requests come in but fuck them they can wait
let's do it
been here before the top porch swing sipping coffee in the sun while i day
dream couple lazy thoughts that could take
through the other side you can write melodic phrasing
all around the room twist it up and leave it blazing
such a mind free is amazing nothing conveys me
just a memory you can bathe in where you can write me a letter
by the lakeside sign it sincerely so i can hear you clearly roll it up
side a bottle quick flight full throttle read it soon i promise when
them last sick and tired
been here before the top of porch swing sipping coffee on my way
to the basement place to store the letters through the years
they've been raining if i grown underweight
all my faith in sunsets fading
pilot bills thousand telephone calls kind of good at storytelling but it
doesn't pay it all well you can write me a letter by the lakeside
sign it sincerely so i can hear you clearly roll it up inside a bottle
quick flight full throttle read it soon i promise when them last sick and tired
you can write me a letter by the lakeside
sign it sincerely so i can hear you clearly know
catchy phrases been dreaming consolation some days
i can feel the way some others feel like i made it to say
that i'm feeling jaded no smaller understatement but i keep taking the pain
like my life is always at stake time it rolls on it'll take its toll
you can write me a letter by the lakeside sign it sincerely
so i can hear you clearly roll it up inside a bottle quick flight full throttle
read it soon i promise when them last sick and tired
you can write me a letter by the lakeside
sincerely so i can hear you clearly roll it up inside a bottle quick flight full throttle
read it soon i promise when them last sick and tired
when them last sick and tired
beautiful i love that song so much fondue very well yeah it's become it's become one of my
favorites for sure especially now i used to play it a lot faster and it was a much harder
song to get through and like now that i've slowed it down it's like oh god isn't it funny how that
happens like i part of why sometimes like songs take so long for me to get like finished is
because it's like okay am i committed to the tempo am i committed to the key like sometimes
things change over time um like i mean when i wrote boiler room i was played in a completely
different key and the tempo was very different um and like the lead lines that dakota used to
play over it were completely different the baseline was different like everything was
different about it uh so it's funny how that happens and now it feels like the it feels right
i don't know i'm happy with it now so sometimes things just need to sit a bit you know yeah
sorry go ahead no i was gonna say in the case of brown eyes i mean it basically had to sit for
almost 10 years before it before it became what it was so that's a wild thing to think about
what's up aj it's safe to say you're not sick and tired of that song
yeah it is safe to say that um yeah i i don't really grow sick and tired of any of my songs
truly um not anymore i mean i used to my my whole ep that i did back in 2011 um
like that whole ep i got sick and tired of uh we played you know we played the songs from that
ep every show for god for like a year and a half almost two years and uh yeah by the time we got
the ep out i was like all right i'm done like let's let's play some new stuff yeah that's what
happens and then it's like you gotta keep you gotta keep doing it you gotta keep playing those
songs i'm sure there's many artists that uh you know they're playing their hits all the time
and they're just like fucking over it all the hits all the hits yeah it happens but that's why i
like take breaks from songs every now and then i'll still play them like when i'm if i'm playing them
live like at a show or in spaces like i'll still play them when i'm performing for people but like
you won't catch me playing that stuff when nobody's around i will not practice those songs
especially if i'll especially if they're ones that i have played so much that i'm like yeah like if i
still need to practice that song there's something wrong with me so i don't know as long as i'm warmed
up i can make it work um but thank you for playing us such a beautiful song i see we have some speakers
on the stage welcome dj satoshi it's been a minute since i've spoken with you so welcome
how are you i'm doing well thanks thanks for having me uh happy to see everyone happy hump day
what's going on how's everyone feeling how's everyone doing how's everyone being
i mean considering what bitcoin looks like today i'm fucking peachy oh that's the whole
man the whole market looks great today yeah it's true i think what did eth crack 3500 i think
yeah yep i believe so i don't know i know shit coins i know bro i know you guys would love the
way that the canadian currency chart looks because it's like oh yeah it hit an all-time high that's
right congratulations mela right
fuck um but yeah i'm i'm glad to have you here thank you for coming through always a pleasure
to see absolutely you as well did i already miss you starting out singing i'm sorry i'm late
you did but it's okay you missed three songs bro like you damn you did three songs no not me no
not me okay so you did you you sang one fondue sing another he doesn't care if i'm playing no
that's not true i came in on your song i was rocking out man i was dancing i'm just just
hello surprised if i sing three songs in a row um yeah totally because she usually does like three
songs all night i sang boiler room i sing one thing not you and i will have you know i am sick
with covet right now my nose is blocked up my face again i did with you and covet you love covet huh
bro i get covet i shit you not the antibodies go away because it's like every six months or
sometimes even sooner but like five six months i get covet again every fucking time it's like
yeah i'm going to bars for gigs i'm going like i'm i'm in places that you know might might be
prime fucking spreading you're just kissing everyone come on we know we know everyone loves
you so they all want to you know i'm a hugger give you a smooch a kiss i get it i get it but
like i'm i'm on planes i'm on i'm at bars i'm in the prime places where i'm sure people are
spreading that shit so yep i have covet again and it's not so bad this time i feel like my
immune system is like yeah been been there done that we're good but my face does hurt i my my
sinuses are in pain i'm sorry to hear that then no worries you know but then that means like you
got to shut the space down quicker so i can go listen to the replay so i can actually hear that
one song you did i'll definitely sing again it it might be in a little bit but i'll sing again
um don't worry it'll happen it'll just be my my covet voice that's what it'll be i'm not worried
i'm not worried and i always enjoy everyone else that comes up and plays you always get
some amazing musicians coming through so always appreciate it and hope everyone listening just
makes sure to retweet the space yeah absolutely thanks dj um all right let's let's push on uh
we got aj here what's up aj how are you doing great i just got back from a run i had to get
outside today um get some fresh air so um i am we'll be in a position to play some live guitar
in about 30 minutes just cleaning up right now but i would be happy to um i finished a new track
i have a song called the face of darkness fondue previewed it a rough cut and um i got the final
version published now i'm really happy with it it's i don't know how would you describe it fondue
it's a little dark but the piano riff is is uh really good i think and i'm getting some good
feedback i'd be happy to yeah it's it's got a very i mean it's got a very like cinematic feel
to it and i like it thank you yeah i was hoping maybe to play that back in the space and get some
feedback but i would have to send it to some to mela or fondue to play it back i wouldn't want to
do it you can send it you can send it to me if you want badass okay cool thanks and then i would
like to play an um an ollie but a goodie from my um all all the songs i've written i have one that
got radio play and it was doing good um it's called girl with dark red girl with dark red hair and i
like to do that on acoustic guitar maybe within an hour or so yeah sounds good um yeah shoot me that
track and uh in the meantime let's go uh let's go say what's up to devin and you know maybe he wants
to play a song while i get this queued up and uh yeah what's up dev
oh hey sorry i'm just gonna sit back down i just got up to have a quick drink
uh i'm doing great i'm doing great um mela sorry to hear that you're sick but you still
you still sound great you always sound great fondue um lakeside letter it's a great song but
but i hate it and you know why no i'm kidding um for those of you who don't know fondue and
i were in an online competition and i finished second to him when he played lakeside letter
to beat my ass so respect respect it is a great song though like i'm just i'm just you know you
know i'm just pulling your leg man it's you're awesome you know i think you're awesome um
uh i would like to play a cover tonight to start things off maybe i'll play one later
uh an original maybe but uh i just kind of started playing this one in the last week here and i kind
of have it down so uh you'll know it as soon as you hear it i think here goes
talking away i don't know what i'm to say but i'll say it anyway
today's another day to find you
shying away
but i'm still coming for your love okay
take on me
i'll be gone in a day or two
so needless to say
of odds and ends i'll be struggling away slowly learning life's okay say after me
me it's no better to be safe than sorry so take on me
i'll be gone in a day or two
oh the words that you say are they for me or are they for life to play my worries away
but you're all that i want to remember
shying away
but i'm still coming for you anyway
so please take on me
take me on
i'll be gone in a day or two
man it took me a minute to figure out what song that was i knew i recognized it right
away but i couldn't figure it out right that's a ha as soon as i hit the chorus right yeah
really good oh thank you that that is amazing thanks guys the slower cadence really worked
it was great right on right well that's what i was going for yeah i wanted to slow it down a bit
like actually the the first time i ever heard that song was off the movie baseball
when it was played by real big fish and they're like a ska band so it's like
you know so i'm still working on that intro part but i just figured i'd
throw the throw that out there and see what everybody thought of like you say the slower
cadence and all that stuff so truly that's the version that i know is the real big fish
yeah i'm sorry like i in in my high school like real big fish was uh they i love it so
i love ska yeah like there i was a big fan of ska when it when it first hit so yeah
but uh yeah i'll shut my mic off and uh shut my mouth and listen uh listen to somebody else
thanks for having me out don't go anywhere everybody's everybody's acting real shy today
so we may have lots of time to share uh well that's what i'm here for fondoodle
quick story quick story i was um i was ubering in santa barber like eight years ago and i pulled i
i was dropping somebody off at a venue and they're like hey dude you might as you should clock out
there's a free show in there and i'm like who is it he's like you just got to come see so i clocked
out and i walked in i kid you not real big fish was playing a show like in goletta goleta it's
like a little town like right north of santa barber but it was one of the funnest shows i'd
ever been to and everybody was super chill just having a good time awesome i wish those guys did
more more uh i wish they were still around yeah i just saw there was a show i really wanted to see
um at red rocks this summer that i just saw is sold out and so they're like i mean of course
they're still like there's tickets on secondary but these these fuckheads are basically like
doubling the price um but yeah third eye blind and yellow card are playing red rocks amphitheater in
june and i just happened to catch a video of yellow card playing in florida somewhere and
they still got it they they damn well still got it they put on a great show so that would have
been one i would have paid to go see but we'll see who knows you know maybe i'll maybe i'll find
my way into a ticket my other favorite band their show this coming months sold out in denver as
well bar expandits they're coming and doing a uh a tour of their album resignation which god
we'll see i might go try and sneak my way into that one um anyway i've got this song queued up
for you aj uh this is called the face of darkness and uh enjoy guys
You return before you get caught
I want to kill everyone who's not
It's not my name, it's not my name
It's exit by the ocean, you do not see
I do I, why do I forgive these things?
Do not worry, I created a scene
You know my name, you know my name
Face of the darkness is coming now
I'd like to choose to figure it out
For who is clapping and who will shout
It's not my name, it's not my name
You return before you get caught
I'd like to figure it out
For who is clapping and who will shout
It's an exit by the ocean, you do not see
I'd like to figure it out
For who is clapping and who will shout
It's an exit by the ocean, you do not see
I'd like to figure it out
Oh, yeah, AJ.
The vocals definitely sound better, you know, I mean, you know, you sent me and that was
my first comment was the effects on the vocals were too much.
Only because you came in and asked and asked for feedback.
The only thing that I could see changing outside, I mean, you know, I already told you what
I felt on on like maybe trying to repeat a chorus or something at the end.
But like, if you want to go music outro, where that music outro begins, you've got a little
like, kind of echoing like, I think you I think the line is, you know, my name, you
know, my name.
And it's like, it's kind of low in the mix, you know, I know it was probably intended
to be kind of in the background and not really in the foreground there.
But you should probably come bring it up like, I don't know, a couple decibels, you know,
it's just a little low, because it's almost inaudible, whereas like, I get what you're
doing with that layer in that behind.
Are you talking about the echo at the end of the verse or the actual last line of the
So when you it's when that musical outro starts, like when you get into like some of
the lead, right around, hold on, let me just let me just see.
Right in here.
So it's a minute 49 ish, you've got this, you know, my name, you know, my going on
in the back, but you can barely hear it.
Like, I don't know if you guys could hear it, but I could barely hear it.
And I'm sitting here in front of the speakers.
So yeah, I did have that, that echo way, way down in the mix.
Okay, thank you for the feedback.
And I always I love feedback, man.
I mean, otherwise, appreciate it.
I love that.
And I apologize that I hadn't had a chance to have a listen yet.
So this was my first taste, I'm going to listen properly on on headphones.
But I do think like one my one piece of feedback, I think it's it's sort of echoing what Fondue
said here.
Sorry, I'm eating chanema salad.
It's kind of spicy.
Yeah, I feel like the the outro could be a little bit longer.
I feel like it's it's cut short a little bit, but that's that's pretty much it.
I'll definitely have to have a proper listen on headphones, though.
Yeah, I was thinking maybe not following a typical like song structure with it.
But you have that instrumental bridge and it could definitely it could definitely you
get like a third verse or or maybe something totally different to end it.
What if you did like that, the line like that, again, I think the line is, you know my name,
you know my name.
What if you did that on like an electric guitar with some like heavy distortion and like
recreated that on the notes?
I don't know.
I just feel like that's the only thing that I get to the end.
And I'm like, oh, I kind of want to hear that.
You know, my name, like I kind of want to hear it again in some way to thank you.
That's all.
I think I agree.
I think I literally hear that an electric guitar.
I like that.
Yeah, there's something there's something to this, AJ.
Okay, so play the notes of the chorus on electric guitar as it as it fades out or maybe as part
of something.
It doesn't have to be electric guitar.
I think I was just thinking of it in terms of like an instrument and having the instrument
play the notes of that line.
Yeah, I think like in my head, it's like it's a it's a somewhat dirty electric guitar.
Not too dirty, not too clean, like somewhere in a nice like medium.
Just nice little like delay on it too.
Fuck yeah.
It's a great idea because then that would also bring the song out to about three, three
minutes, 30 seconds, which is what all radio stations kind of want.
Yeah, if I could, if I could just throw my two cents in, AJ, that sounded great.
I'm totally, totally feeling the electric guitar at the end, like something with like
like now said a little dirty, a little little gnarly, but like with some good reverb going
on just to accentuate the vocals.
But that that sounded great, man.
Well done.
Dave is and Dave from Long Island, if he was speaking, I would ask him for some feedback
But I really, I really love the feedback because I will like preemptive, like, I don't know,
sometimes when you're first writing a song, it feels like it's never done.
And then you think it's done that you do get some like feedback from professionals and
you're like, okay, I better.
Yeah, you know, they're right.
I'm gonna go back to that.
Then you're like, holy shit, it does sound better.
And then you're like, well, wait a minute now, is it really done?
So it's like, it is just weird temptation to like, you want to release it, but you're
like, wait a minute, it might not be done yet.
But your fan base is usually gonna love you and be understanding.
It's like, I don't know, Zuby, you know, Zuby, who's got like a million followers,
he's a music professional, and he's like a life coach, he had like a really good tweet
like a year ago.
And he Zuby said, like, if you're an artist or musician, or you do anything creative,
like keep putting out your work, even if you're not sure if it's good or bad, because the
people who love you, they will forget your bad stuff.
And they will remember your good stuff.
And it's not great, you know, because sometimes I write a song, I'm like, does this suck?
But it's like, when you start getting the responses, and it helps you refine the craft.
So thanks a lot, everybody.
Yeah, I love that.
That's funny.
I'm the guy who doesn't, I'm the guy who doesn't release it.
If I think it's crap, I'm like, nah, I don't think I'm gonna put this out.
But there is a lot of truth to what you're saying, you know, and also, you don't always
know, I think, you know, music is so subjective, it's not like an objective thing, where like,
there's one answer that everybody is gonna like, because there's tons of really popular
music that I don't like.
And so, you know, it's like, I think that because it's so subjective, there's definitely
a lot of merit to just like, going forward and releasing and look who came up to give
you some feedback.
Let's let him up here, because I'm pretty sure he heard your call here, the call call.
I love this man, I love this Dave from Long Island, and you know, real quick before Dave
talks, it's like, we're kind of in that microwave mindset society, right, where the TikTok video
is like, if you don't grab their attention in the first three seconds, they're swiping
to the next thing.
It's kind of the same with like clicking on music or like skipping to the next on Spotify.
It's like, I'm like, wow, this starts with piano, it's three notes of piano.
And I'm like, people are gonna tune out, like, so I modulated the last note of the bass on
the piano note, the bass, you know, then I put in the lightning strike, because I'm trying
to keep people's attention, you know, that's all.
Yeah, I feel you.
It's attention is the hottest commodity right now.
But one thing I'll say is the way that like, the way that I've been trying to approach
songwriting for for a while now, is like, I almost like try and swap out the outcome
like the desired outcome of are people gonna like this, like, if it's anything external
to like that present moment, I try and like just erase that from what I'm thinking at
the time of writing and working on it, like just take that outcome and swap that for just
having fucking fun.
That's like the key in my mind is like, if you're having fun, creating what you're doing,
and it's not it doesn't need to be like, yay, oh my god, this is so much fun.
Like it doesn't need to look like that or sound like that.
But if you're enjoying the process, if it feels like something enjoyable to you, and
you're having fun, then basically aligning with what you were saying that that guy tweeted
a year ago, then the people that that like your people will find you the people that
resonate with that moment that you had and you created something, they'll find you.
So and I don't know, I think there's there's true to that.
There is something about like writing like a hit, there's like science to writing writing
a radio hit.
If that is the goal, then of course, you know, you can keep those things in mind.
But if the goal is to just make a good song and have fun doing it, I think that's that's
So, Dave, you got something to say?
Did my bird get out again?
I'm sorry.
Can I please speak to Dave?
Wait a minute, Mel B. Is that you?
Yeah, it's me.
I got I got to set my alarm every Wednesday.
This freaking thing, my old dial up modem lights up and then I get sucked through the
void again.
And here we go.
Thank you, Michael.
You guys met my kitty cat before I was wondering what is what is that noise supposed to be?
It honestly kind of sounds like a person going, yeah, I thought that was my bird that escaped.
I guess that's your pussy.
It was actually it's my ball bag.
But anyway, hey, guys, I made it through the void in one piece and I was hoping to play
a song for you.
Well, wait a second.
Wait, wait, wait.
Did you hear?
Did you hear AJ song because he wanted some feedback from you?
I've heard AJ song many times before you heard AJ song.
He DM'd me some feedback a while back.
And so he's here in the finished version.
And I'll take it from all the 100s he was throwing up.
It was sufficient.
Yeah, I really do prefer.
Okay, if I may, I don't like to I don't like to preach.
I really do like the guitar at the end.
That was that's kind of my favorite part.
So, yeah, thanks for adding that in and making it cooler.
Wonderful.
Well, yeah, you know what, Dave, as I said earlier, you know, I have the microphone and
so everybody will listen to every damn word that I have to say.
Let's go.
We're going to bring you back to easy, let the little guys come see you, and we're good.
You gotta send me your solution, if it works, you know I got you back for good.
We're going to bring you back to easy, let the little guys come see you, and we're good.
We're going to bring you back to easy, let the little guys come see you, and we're good.
We're going to bring you back to easy, let the little guys come see you, and we're good.
We're going to bring you back to easy, let the little guys come see you, and we're good.
So, I'm going to be honest here, that was a mistake, I didn't mean to very rudely cut
anybody off and play that, I thought you were doing that, and I realized that's my sound
board, so I guess that was my song, surprise.
I was giving you the floor to play it, but yeah, you just jumped in ahead of the baton
Yeah, that was an honest mistake, I fumbled.
That was the greatest mistake, and Mela, your mic is completely shot.
I'm so confused what just happened, so I hit the chicken, and the chicken turned everybody
into robot chickens, and I don't know if you guys heard that, but you're the robot, dude,
everybody's robot.
You're the robot chicken little.
I'm so confused right now.
Oh my God, I think I'm going crazy.
We know what's going to have to happen to fix this, Mela, there's only one solution.
Oh, are we giving out brownies again?
Who wants a special brownie?
Raise your hand, ladies and gents.
You don't sound like a robot at all, DJ.
Well, that's because I'm an AI bot.
Is it just Mela?
Is Mela the only one who's robot?
Mela, you're going to have to leave the space, and then come right back.
Oh, you did?
Oh, it sounds like you're live again.
It sounded like robots.
I'm assuming I sounded like a robot.
I don't know what happened.
I clicked the chicken, and it just went, ee, ee, ee, ee, ee, ee, ee, ee, ee, ee, ee, ee,
ee, ee, ee, ee, ee, ee, ee, ee, ee, ee, ee, ee, ee, ee, ee, ee, ee, ee, ee, ee, ee, ee, ee, ee, ee, ee, ee, ee, ee, ee, ee, ee, ee, ee, ee, ee, ee, ee, ee, ee, ee, ee, ee
call power that's if you search the streaming that's by a band called Ravencoin because that's
my chain of choice but I try not to like get preachy about it but yeah cool I heard that
song on your wall a while back Dave and then as you were playing it back in the space like behind
my pimp radio screen Mela B had um like a very genuine video post where she got emotional at
the end so I heard like her spoken word over I didn't realize it was playing in the background
I'm like oh that's weird to have like a woman speaking voice over the core over the bridge
like what's going on here and then I'm like oh shit like I'm not paying attention to my phone
sounds like something I would do
guys it's so it's so awkward when I'm eating because I want to unmute but um
um I'm chewing I'm chewing do you want to know what I'm eating what are you eating
so I've kind of like you know I feel bad because I'm a carnivore and usually I don't eat like bread
and carbs and things but special occasion there's an apple pie in front of me so I just I can't
can't say no to that oh snap you're eating an apple pie I know I'm so bad I'm going to hell
like what are we talking here like homemade oh yeah so fuck me up I love homemade apple pie
I'm eating chana masala chana chana masala um with some garlic naan bread it's fucking delicious
it's clearing me out my sinuses or you know it's clearing me out fondue I got your text message
you're gonna have to go make some food soon that's that's chill there's gonna be a chill space
we're all just fucking eating garlic naan from Trader Joe's because that stuff is the bomb and
I miss having a Trader Joe's like within three hours of where I live bro we don't even have
Trader Joe's in Canada oh duh my bad I'm about go ahead what do you have Trudeau trades oh god
that place would be burned down if we had it I know I know you guys got some A&W's up there
that's one thing I remember a short stint in Toronto yeah we got A&W A&W used to be really
good it's like one of the better fast food restaurants but it's still it's still kind
of shit I don't I don't really fuck with fast food anymore fucks with my stomach that's how you know
you're getting old when you're young you can eat all that shit and your body's like yeah it's okay
we can stop please do not use the word getting old out of your mouth because uh I got 10 years
I don't want to hear it okay I know but she's right she's right when you eat fast food you get old
it's true the secret from I found is so uh I actually don't crucify me but I quit coffee
and I switched to matcha which is like that Japanese green tea leaf powder so like apparently
I was getting adrenal fatigue about 10 years ago so I'd wake up and have breakfast or whatever
and have a cup of coffee but I felt more tired after drinking the coffee right and um I got a
book on this it's called the adrenal stress connection so my adrenal glands were just getting
taxed to the max right and so um I did quit I actually first I tried mud water
and that's pretty good um they're a little pricey but they're good like mushroom powder stuff but
then I'm like getting a matcha and I'm like wow going green like that really it helped my digestion
and I don't know it um doesn't turn your teeth like staying as fast as coffee does it's really
good so and then um yeah and I'm sorry you don't have a Trader Joe's and I'm glad you don't have a
Trader Trudeau's because I mean yeah Trader Trudeau just sounds like the the state of our country
right now so oh my god I've heard some nasty rumors about the government in Canada but I assume all
these rumors are Trudeau guys you want to know what's fucked okay we're not going to get political
we're just not okay but you want to know what's fucked we're gonna we're gonna get political for
like 10 milliseconds a little longer is the son of Castro no okay so like like um
Bill C-11 got passed I've talked about this before they've like you know shut down some shit that we
were doing and like okay I'm gonna have to get political for a sec because it's gonna take a while
but okay so Bill C-11 is basically like censoring what we can see and what what comes in and out of
our country media wise um we could get into the specifics but we won't but one thing that just
happened to me the other day my friends are in a band called Hunted they're fucking killer
and they had uh I guess like an interview uh because they they hosted an event and they they
got into this magazine or whatever they did an interview and I went to go click from Instagram
I clicked the link to the interview because I wanted to read it it's about my friends
and I'm not allowed to read it because it says that Canada is blocked from reading this this
article I'm like what the fuck this isn't even like a politically driven article this is an
article about my friends that are in a small band like an underground band and I what the fuck so
yeah I can't see shit that I want to see and it's really bothering me so uh be one of us can pull
up this article and we'll send you a screenshot I'm gonna send you a referral link to NordVPN
have you heard of it yeah I yes I have heard of it um I used it for a period of time but I didn't
it's pretty good it's really inexpensive I think it's like three bucks a month okay you know what's
funny I want to I want to chime in real quick because he's he's like suggesting Nord for you
so that you can view things outside of Canada so you like you'll have to put your you know location
somewhere else um here in the United States we often put our our location to Canada so that we
can put online poker legally oh wow yeah don't do that anymore it's not gonna work out well
yeah Trudeau's gonna come after you Fonda oodle online poker is legal in Canada guys like that
yeah it's true this is the fun thing well that's what they want you to think so they can put you
on the list it is legal in Canada and like there's something we're all on the list and
because if you guys win the lottery you guys have to pay tax on that right
yeah yeah you you lose half right away you don't even get to you don't get the money first either
yeah no luxury in Canada if you win the lottery in Canada you don't pay tax on it so that's one perk
pretty crazy you guys also have okay health care yeah it's decent it's okay it's okay it's
definitely not the word uh-huh it's actually easy sorry I'll just make this really quick it's
easier to have like state medicare where I live in Utah than it is to like make a lot of money and
then pay like two hundred dollars a month which is what they were getting me on under Obamacare
and I did have to go to the emergency last year it was an eight thousand dollar bill
and my copay with the state coverage was eight dollars I fucking lucked out with that
beautiful uh Sergeant Fonda is just going to redirect us we're just gonna we jumped on a train
and uh and the train is moving and there's no breaks in sight so I'm just gonna pull the e-brake
exactly so let's say let's say how to MC or as I know him make front run um and uh let's get
looking back to some music up here if there's anybody else in the audience that wants to share
I hit the request buttoning on up uh make front run my home are you man what's going on
what's up fondue how's it going um yeah I'm doing good I'm kind of running I'm not at my home right
now I'm running out uh doing errands and stuff but uh yeah I'm doing good um congratulations yeah
you won uh what was it like second or third place on the on the vibes contest I don't think
you mentioned uh I got fifth on the vibes contest replaced that's something I mean yeah I actually
just finished my video I just finished my video for this week uh today and so I'm getting right
I'm just trying to uh if I'm gonna if I'm gonna sign for um for premium and be able to post my
whole video on Twitter or if I'm gonna put on YouTube I didn't intend to put this particular
video as my first YouTube video so like I don't I don't know how I'm gonna do it yet last week I
just cut the song short and just posted you know a minute minute and a half or whatever it was um
but yeah no it's a cool little contest they're running it's uh it's definitely interesting to
see how their their blog community works um yeah can I make a suggestion that you already have the
hive account you just get a three-speak account as well with that same account and that's basically
their version of YouTube uh posted on there yeah my problem is just another thing for me to sign
up for and remember and then it's just one more thing that I'm oh guy has gone uh it's just one
more place that I'm going to disappoint people because uh I've got so many accounts that I don't
use on all kinds of platforms and like this is the issue it's like too many I know we're like we're
going for decentralization and spread it out but for me if it was all in one place um but yeah so
you said you're out and about you are you gonna song later do you want to I can give you a thing
well uh yeah I can give you a link uh possibly go yeah yeah if you got a link go ahead and go ahead
and email or message it over and uh I can get it keyed up but uh in the meantime let's go to uh
let's say hi to Eva Burt hi Eva Burt how are you
hi hi from do hi mela hi dave tj mcaj
kia kara shane mitch dave and everyone else in the room how are you doing guys
oh we are doing fantastic mela are you talking because I can't hear you I keep rogging man
people are robots and they're not robots and then they are robots again I'm just scared to
touch any buttons at this point all right well at least that explains it um yeah we're doing great
Eva Burt just uh you know a nice nice chill Wednesday for us uh hanging out share some tunes
you know how we do now you are becoming a robot too I think it's because like I don't know if
anybody else noticed but there's an update that just happened um I don't know if you can hear me
Eva Burt but um yeah there's an update that just happened with spaces so I have a feeling that
tonight is not going to be the smoothest of nights it's okay as far as we are still together
we are ready to overcome all the obstacles I guess don't you agree yeah exactly we push through
so how are you are you gonna play us a song yes I am I was hoping uh yeah I'll tell you a little
bit about this song this is a new song and uh I have performed it just once so I'm still uh into
learning this so sorry if I mess up anywhere but I want to tell you a story uh this uh I had the
idea of this song ever since I went to the first vocal class about three years ago um by accident I
mostly I went to just a vocal class a free vocal class and then when I understood that I want to
write a song and then when the idea of this song came to me and when the melody started to rotate
in my head and I couldn't sing I couldn't play any instrument but I already wanted to write it
so uh I'm so happy that now I'm able to not only sing it but also to perform it on guitar
and uh it's this song has kind of waited for its uh turn to be implemented into life
uh so this art was created uh like three years ago and I have pinned it to the space
and uh it's called uh you are the moon and it is dedicated to all of you all of us because
we all can shoot for the moon so let me give it a try
I'm still kind of practicing it and trying to make my best
listen to me and raise your head
look at the sky what do you see
knowing it's there now where are you and where do you want to be
you are the universe
each one of us is universe each one can show up to the moon what are your dreams please tell me now
and start to go you'll reach them soon oh you
and if you're
and if you're scared just raise your head look at the sky no place for sadness and
regrets so spread your wings and lie oh you
are the moon
You are the universe. You are the universe. You are the universe.
And thank you so much.
Beautiful, beautiful as always. And I love the message of that song. I loved your guitar playing.
You're really killing it these days, Ibuber. Love it.
Yeah, that was beautiful.
Definitely crazy to just, I still remember, I feel like the first space that you brought out a guitar.
And like, that's, I mean, that's crazy to think about. So really appreciate you, Sharon.
So I think we got it.
Thank you so much, Von Do. Thank you so much, Mela, for your words.
Always a pleasure to be in this space. Thanks for hosting it and for connecting all of us together.
And for your kind words. They mean a lot to me. Thank you. Thank you, appreciate it.
No problem at all. All right, let's say hi to Gaia. And then we got Mitch has come to the stage.
And my buddy, McFrontrun, did send me a track, but he did say to go through the people who are here first.
So let's say hi to Gaia. Hi, Gaia. Welcome back.
Can you guys hear? I can't hear. No, I don't.
Gaia, you're rugging. It's your crappy phone again. I remember this.
Gaia, if you can hear me, I'm going to put you back down a list. Oh, wait. Oh.
Can you hear me at all? Yeah, now? Yeah, there you go.
Jesus. I was getting worried it was my fault.
It was your fault. Well, but you can hear me.
AOK right now, right? Yeah, yeah, we hear you. Yeah, just keep putting more satoshis in the microphone.
No, no, no, I'm the problem. It's me. All right, guys. All right. Sit down.
OK, the peanut gallery. Gaia, welcome back.
Do you have a song to share with us tonight? I do.
I think I've already played it for you from before, but I hope everybody else likes it as well.
It's not one of my own. It's a it's a song called Key.
It's a French song, but it means a lot to me because it's well, so far it's the only song that I can play in guitar.
And I'm I'm trying to play a bit more guitar lately.
And I think it normally I always play just finger style songs, but I'm trying to sing as well.
And it's a great tool. It's helping me feel more at ease with music and everything.
So, yeah, I'm going to play it for you guys. I hope you like it.
No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
M Haisley or this is what.
Just care.
No, no, no, no, no, no.
Quis aure n'appal a d'irée, Quis aure n'appal a d'irée,
I have a laptop but I have a headset. I'm not sure if you could hear the guitar.
Well, I'm sorry about that. I really do have a curse with technology.
I'm going to try to get a better headset for next time.
It's no problem. No problem. We appreciate you being here. You're welcome.
Yeah, no problem.
Well, I did want to mention, if it's okay, I think you guys know...
Yeah, go for it.
Well, I haven't composed much for myself, like my own pieces yet.
But I think you all know Mira Trattito with my mother.
I think she's mentioned me a few times before as well.
And she's just dropped out very recently a song called New Dance.
So is it okay if I share it with the space?
I don't mean play it out, but I mean the experience, you can check it out.
Yeah, pin it up, problem.
Okay, I think I just did it.
Anyway, it's a new song by her. She's a very talented musician as well.
So if you can, feel free to check her out. She's pretty great. It's on sound.
And I'll be sure to compose a few songs with good audio next time.
No problem. No problem. We appreciate you coming out here.
Thank you for having me.
Like I said, it sounded great. So don't worry about that.
I just wanted to make sure that you knew we couldn't hear the guitar.
Okay. Let's go. A.J., you got something to add?
Yeah, just a comment. Yeah.
Well, she's singing in French because that was beautiful.
And it reminded me of a dear friend of mine, Nadia.
She spells her name N-A-D-E-A-H.
She's a French slash American musician.
So she has albums in French and in English. Really incredible.
I'm inviting her to this space.
She's been doing music for a long time.
But I think she'd love to be in here too.
Yeah, I don't know. Guy, was that French?
Yes, it was.
Cool. There you go.
All right. Let's say hi to Mitch. Mitch, I have your song off.
You don't want to tell everybody about it?
Yeah, sure. Hi. Hello.
I also wanted to say hi to the other Utah dude.
There's a few of us out here.
We even have a little group chat, so DM me.
I'll get you in there.
But yeah, so the track I sent you,
I haven't ever put it on the internet until recently.
Sadly, one of the guitar players from that band recently passed away.
It was pretty sudden and very tragic,
and I don't want to bring the whole room down.
This is a song that was, we put it out.
Well, we put it out and then the band fell apart,
and so it never really saw the light of day.
But once upon a time, I used to be kind of a vocalist,
and I guess I'll just let you play it,
and that will explain why I don't do a lot of singing on Twitter spaces.
I do play some pretty guitar stuff, but vocally, I'm very shouty.
Yeah, the song is called Dreams.
The band was called Said the Boy.
The song is basically a precursor to my solo EP album
that I put out like 12 years ago.
The song was maybe 2009?
Yeah, go ahead. Thanks.
Awesome. All right, let's go.
Let's go.
Let's go.
Let's go.
Let's go.
I never liked that breakdown at the ending, but yeah, thanks for sharing.
It wasn't bad.
I mean, I'm wondering how is the metal scene in Utah?
I know a lot of Mormons and it's like gospel hymnal music
and like happy positive stuff, but I mean, that'd be cool.
Have a metal scene in Utah?
Oh, it's very big and popular.
I mean, I guess a lot of it's pretty underground,
but no, there's a lot of like really big bands
that like play some huge festivals over in Europe and everything.
Cult Leaders, a very prominent one right now.
There's several other, I don't know, we'll DM
and we can have a little Utah powwow.
I don't want to take up his face.
That was a great track, man.
I'll say, so like right around the minute mark,
there was a little like guitar riff melody that I really liked
and then I feel like it came back around like the 2 minute 15 mark
and it reminded me a little bit of like some huba stank riffs.
It had like a really awesome feel to it.
I liked it.
I loved it too.
My audio has been cutting in and out throughout the space,
which is very annoying and unfortunate.
So I didn't catch the entire thing, but from what I was able to hear,
it was killer.
I'm a sucker for some heavier stuff.
So yeah, man, I liked it.
I don't know what I'm going to do.
Can you guys hear me?
That's what I should be saying around.
Can you hear me loud and clear?
Yes, we hear you, Mela.
I hear you.
Yeah, I don't know what's going on.
It's ever since the chicken thing, ever since the chicken fucked me over
and made you all sound like chicken robots.
It's just been in and out.
So I don't know.
Well, the fact that we haven't rugged, I think is a good sign
because I thought for certain that we were going to rug when that started happening.
Yeah, no, we can hear you though.
Okay, cool.
Well, we'll see what happens.
I'm just going to sit back, enjoy the music, and hear what I can hear.
I know, Fondue, you said you needed to go make food, right?
Yeah, I want to play M.C. Front Run's track because I know that he needs me to play it.
And then after that, it'll be on you for a little bit.
M.C., you want to tell these guys about this track?
Are you still in the store?
Can you hear me?
Check, check, watch him.
Yeah, I am driving.
But the link that I just gave you was to a newer track that has not been played by,
or that has not been heard by anyone except me.
It's not quite finished, but it still needs mastering.
I was like, it'd be nice to get some feedback.
And, you know, to debut it here, the track's called Make It a Good Day.
And it's about, you know, all the things in life and, you know, our daily routine that we can't control.
And, you know, the only thing we can't control is our own reaction.
And why not have a positive reaction, I guess.
But that's probably enough.
All right, let's go make it a good day.
Here we go.
Today, I woke to a dream receiving, leaving me with just a feeling of emotion.
As I got out of bed, I got this notion in my head that it's a good day.
It's a good day.
At least I think it could be.
Is that what this feeling could mean?
No, but it's me.
And there's nothing that's good.
There's group clarity.
I can't guess for hours.
I've got group therapy in just an hour.
It's a group for substance abuse.
And today is my excuse for taking a shower and to allow for those who pop where to leave my house and speak out loud or listen for insight and wisdom on how to live life and fight addiction or other meaning of this feeling and way to see it through to its fruition.
Can I reuse it, reproduce it on the days I lose to use?
Can I choose to make it a good day?
And what does it take?
Because most days I'm just existing.
Fishing with no bait.
Missing my own fate.
Pissing in the wind and losing it goes straight.
I try to cope with the day's routine and grind a hit of dopamine.
But sometimes I find it so demeaning.
I can't hold in fits of screaming.
And those days aren't quite productive.
I just want to write my own instructions.
Can I create the breaks I'm meaning in part?
Can I participate in making meaning to chaos theory and have strange attractions?
I can't really expect to change what happens.
But what if I correct my brain's reaction and put the butterfly effect in action?
I'll stop cautioning.
Stop chastised.
I'll start offering free mustache rides.
Bad jokes in stock.
You need to drop more beans and take back tweets.
It seems deceived.
My dreams achieved.
And I lost and mourned.
I've got to keep what it ought to be.
And it's not dollar store philosophy.
It's go tell a loved one that you'll love them.
And if you're near high, you can't hug them.
You sweat a pendulum above them.
Bring it in the good day column.
You have to show it.
Can't assume they know it.
Expect no return.
Don't quit pro quo it.
You take the status quo and throw it.
You don't fill their cup.
You overflow it.
Cause I can sway an attitude.
Away from sad to gratitude.
And my days back moved.
I've had improved my way of having attitude.
And I'm aware what leads must follow.
I can't repair what leads us hollow.
To seize the day conceits.
Tomorrow the dream recedes.
But there's a prayer I've borrowed.
It's grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change.
And fighting me the strength I need to make the changes that I can.
And finally show me the wisdom.
So I might know the difference.
Tired of waiting for forgiveness.
Try creating your deliverance.
And make it a good day.
You can't just don't stand in your way.
It's a good day.
I'm out in the country so I'm not sure.
All I came through on my end.
Loved it.
I love that vibe.
Oh my gosh.
I'm running so hard.
If I want to use a robot.
Twitter's gonna Twitter.
Twitter's gonna Twitter.
Am I a robot to everybody or just a melon?
I can hear you now.
Yeah you sound fine now.
Yeah I'm just gonna mess with Melanie in case I sound like a robot over there still.
No you're fine now.
It's like in and out.
I don't know.
Well classic.
Man the only the only feedback I would give is I just kept waiting for a hook.
Like that's that's the only piece of feedback that I can give.
Like I know I know this is kind of your style.
So like I don't want you to you know don't take this as anything other than just like.
You ask for some feedback and that's all I really got is I just I just kept waiting for you know some kind of make it a good day hook because.
Yeah like it's it's dope.
I like what you're doing.
Yeah and yeah I hear what you're saying.
And I asked for feedback so yes please.
I got thick skin.
Well thanks.
If I may.
I enjoyed it.
I love the message.
I would think your beat might have been overpowering your vocals just a little bit.
If you can get back in your mix maybe try printing a version and do like an A B split test with your fan base in your audience and like do a version where you bring down your beat the decibel on your beat just a little bit and up on your vocals just a little bit.
And maybe you might want to think about like some harmony in the vocals where it when you're getting to your your your line that's the title of the song that you're getting into maybe like kind of shouted or maybe add a little more on that.
I liked it.
I liked it.
So yeah this is not normally this is not normally how we do it but we've had two people come up and ask for feedback so it's been it's been a different evening this evening.
So no I'd like to be I would say it may some of that may have been Twitter spaces because I got I felt like the levels were okay over here.
I would have to play it back with a proper pair of headphones if you wanted brother if you want to DM me a link to your song on SoundCloud or whatever I'll follow you over there.
So yeah it could just be the.
I'm stopped at gas station right now in fact.
Could you pick me up a sugar free monster while you're in there.
Sugar free.
Sorry just kidding with that coffee one.
You guys are ridiculous and a pack of Marlboro lights.
Virginia.
I'm gonna I'm gonna leave you with these this.
This group of clowns.
Best best of luck to you.
I'm not I mean I'm not really leaving right.
I'm just gonna mute but I think you know I think we got care up next.
We're not really keeping a spoiler alert guys.
We didn't open up the list tonight.
And because it started out so slow as I was like we'll be able to keep this together and then as more and more important as I was regretting not putting a list together because I knew it was gonna be a pain to hand this off to Mela but good luck.
Mela have fun.
No worries.
It's all good.
Tonight's gonna be a chill night.
I mean it has been chill night.
I have fucking covid for the fourth or fifth or sixth time.
I don't know.
I stopped keeping count.
So I'm over here.
Rugging on Twitter coughing a lot not feeling too hot.
So I'm just sitting back enjoying the ride enjoying the music.
Thank you all for coming through to Pimp Radio.
I'm not gonna lie to you.
I feel like trash right now.
I don't know why it's hitting me so hard right now but it is.
So we're gonna push on.
I'm feeling it's gonna be an early night compared to other Pimp Radio nights because of multiple reasons.
One of them being that Twitter does not want to be my friend today and it keeps rugging my audio.
But nonetheless I think we should we should push on with some more music.
Kara did you have something that you want to play for us?
Yeah. Hey guys.
Mela I'm so sorry to hear that you have covid that sucks.
I hope that you feel better.
Yeah it's not fun.
I mean it's like I've had it for I don't know.
I want to say five times.
This might even be.
It seems like I get it every six months.
It's like the antibodies just they leave my body and then it's like okay let's get covid again.
So yeah this time not as bad as other times.
I've definitely had it worse.
At this point it's just I'm annoyed.
I'm just annoyed.
Oh my God. Yeah.
And they say that the antibodies last for six months and you're good.
And then I guess they just disappear.
You get it again.
So I feel for you.
I'm so sorry to hear that.
Yeah it's all good.
It's all good.
At least I know every time I get it I'm like yeah I'm good for six months.
So it's the only positive right.
Yeah silver linings I guess.
Oh my gosh.
But stoked to have you here.
Stoked to hear you play something.
What do you got for us tonight?
Yeah thank you.
Yeah I'm happy to be here.
Thanks for giving me the mic.
So I have an acoustic cover that I'm going to do by Alex Claire.
See if anyone recognizes the song.
I know I'm not one to break from this.
I don't want to hurt you but I need to breathe.
At the end of it all you're still my best friend.
Cut this up and it's not that I need to release.
Which way is right?
Which way is wrong?
How do I think that I need to move on?
You know that we're heading that real way.
And it feels like I am just too close to love you.
There's nothing I can really say.
I can't lie no more.
I can't hide no more.
Got to reach you to my left.
And it feels like I am just too close to love you.
So I'll be on my way.
Giving me more than I can return.
Yet there's also much that you deserve.
There's nothing to say, nothing to do,
Nothing to give, I must leave without you.
You know that we're heading that real way.
And it feels like I am just too close to love you.
There's nothing I can really say.
I can't lie no more.
I can't hide no more.
Got to reach you to my left.
And it feels like I am just too close to love you.
So I'll be on my way.
So I'll be on my way.
And it feels like I am just too close to love you.
There's nothing I can really say.
I can't lie no more.
I can't hide no more.
Got to reach you to my left.
And it feels like I am just too close to love you.
So I'll be on my way.
So I'll be on my way.
So I'll be on my way.
Thank you for the mic.
Amazing, amazing.
And I'm so happy my audio didn't even cut out once.
I heard every second of that beautiful cover.
It's a sign that that was meant to be heard.
So wow, Kara, you're killing it.
Absolutely.
I don't know if Kara can hear me because I couldn't hear her at all on my phone,
but I did hear her on my girl's phone.
Kara, can you give me a thumbs up if you can hear me right now?
Okay, cool.
Because I can hear you on her phone, but I can't hear you on mine for whatever reason.
You've got already.
I mean, what is it?
You've already gotten way better with that pick.
Like your guitar strumming sounded so good.
That was like the first thing I noticed when I got her to turn up her volume.
I was like, oh, damn, like that's smooth.
So really, really great, Kara.
Oh, thank you so much.
I hope you can hear me.
And thank you, Mela.
I appreciate it.
I just learned that song a couple hours ago, so I was a little nervous about
playing it.
And I'll tell you what, Fondu gave me amazing recommendations for a guitar pick.
And it's working out pretty good.
So I appreciate it.
Kara, you're progressing so fast.
I'm so impressed with your progress.
Like I've been hacking around with my guitars for years and like you're just
you're killing it, girl.
I'm so proud of you.
Well done.
Oh, thank you so much, Devin.
I appreciate you.
I want to ask how often do you like just to kind of give people an idea of
like, I don't know how much time it takes.
Like how often do you practice?
Pretty much every day.
Every day with some times where I don't do it for maybe like a day or two
because I get frustrated.
But yeah, pretty much I play every day.
That's only been about I think maybe like nine months now, roughly.
Get those calluses, girl.
Oh, yeah.
I have them.
I have the every guitar player, I'm sure knows I have like the permanently
like indented string things like in my fingertips.
So the fingertips on my left hand are definitely a lot rougher than my right
I have them for sure.
But my fingers still get pretty sore after I play for a while.
So those will go away and eventually you'll develop the calluses that just
pop back out in a matter of seconds.
Oh, gosh.
I even changed my strings to like medium light gauge.
I think they are.
They're elixir.
So I had really harder strings.
I can't speak about this properly, guys.
I'm sorry.
But they work out a lot better than the ones I had before because my fingers
were like mutilated from the other strings I had.
Yeah, that happens.
That's what I started.
Well, I started out with heavies and I went to ultralights.
They're the yeah.
I don't know.
I just went with ultralights just because I found they were easier to play,
easier to bend, easier to flex.
So I totally hear you.
But yeah, you keep if you keep playing every day, it'll be like a matter of
months and you'll get those calluses on your fingertips that'll just pop back
You'll never be able to give somebody a proper body massage.
I'm just saying.
I was able to use the lights, Devin, because I would break my strings every
Like there was not a single show that I went to ever that I had lights on that
I didn't break it in the middle of the set.
Fair enough.
Fair enough.
Yeah, I'd be scared about that, too, because I my friend lives across the
street and he's been playing guitar since he was like 15 and he came over.
We went to college together.
I was like, can you help me change my strings?
But it's like I should know how to do this by now, but I don't.
And I taken it once over to like a music shop and they changed them for me.
And I had him show me, but I didn't change him again for maybe like three or
four months after.
So I recorded him doing it and I'm so scared of busting a string because I
I get more nervous about breaking a wooden peg.
Like if you got the wooden peg, the old school wooden pegs on the end of your
strings like that.
Oh, then you got to order just pegs and you got to pay like five bucks to order
a packet of pegs and wait for them to at least where I live.
I got to wait for them to come in the mail.
We don't have a music store out here.
Gosh, I order my strings on Amazon now.
I pretty much order everything on Amazon.
I got the guitar tuner that Fondu recommended to me today.
The snark.
I think it's sitting outside on my doorstep.
I got the guitar picks and get the strings.
So I'm learning where to get stuff pretty quickly and easily instead of going
to the store.
It's amazing.
I'm so happy that you're, you know, tackling it and like I can tell that
you're passionate about it because you're improving so quickly and just the
fact that you're playing every single day.
Some people have to, you know, bug themselves to practice and it sounds
like you're just like, yeah, let's fucking do this.
So it's paying off.
You sound you're killing it.
Like you could fool anybody and tell them you've been playing for years at
this point.
So keep killing it, Kara.
Thanks, Mela.
I appreciate that.
Yeah, thanks for coming through.
Guys, Kara hosts, co-hosts Fondu's space with him every, it's on Tuesdays,
Tuesdays at what time you start?
Yeah, it's on Tuesdays at 7 p.m.
Well, you guys got to check it out.
Make sure you set the reminder when he schedules it.
It's a good space.
It's less like less music, more talking, I would say, but, you know, there's
still some music.
In there and it's always a good conversation.
So and Fondu usually gets pretty drunk.
It's funny.
There's more wine than music.
I can attest to that.
It's delicious.
Seems like you can't don't spill the beans, guys.
I definitely don't get drunk at all.
I definitely don't finish an entire bottle of wine in the first.
No, no, he's a, he's a sober robot.
He's a sober robot.
Yes, he does.
See, exactly.
I'll actually, I'll, I think we can schedule the space while I'm
hosting it.
So I will schedule it because this is a problem always is that we never
schedule it ahead of time.
And so we're going to fix that.
Kara, what were you trying to say?
Yeah, I keep forgetting.
He can't hear me, but he butchers the names of the wines.
So it's not this past week, but the week before.
He'd selected a wine called Trevento and the more that he drank,
the more he started forgetting what the name of the wine was.
So it turned into like 10 different names and he started calling it like
trigonometry.
And then it was like Tribbiani after friends and it just morphed into
this really big joke.
And he's like our unofficial sponsors, trigonometry wine.
It's delicious guys.
You should get it.
So it was a whole thing.
So if y'all want to tune in and hear Fondue drink a bottle of wine and
hopefully we have something that's easy to pronounce.
But once I start giving him more recommendations for things that he can
find, it's probably going to get a little bit more complicated and it's
going to be funny.
That's amazing.
Well, last night it was last night it was the banished and then it turned
into the banisher and then it was like the banisha or like it.
Yeah, it morphed into a couple different things the other night, but I
was, it was, it was great.
Fondue, you're amazing.
It was a good space.
It was a good space.
It's always good space.
I was so sad that I missed it last night.
I literally texted, I was texting Fondue as like right after it ended.
I went to go check to see if it was still running and you guys had just
ended it, but I was doing fucking like bookkeeping stuff all night.
I got a, it's my fiscal end of year.
So I got to do some business tech stuff.
And yeah, I was doing that stuff all night and then I was like, oh shit,
rhythm and wine.
But yeah, I'll be there next week.
So Fondue, if you can get that scheduled, put it up top.
Oh, you did.
I just, I get, listen, I'm so on top of it.
I scheduled it.
I pinned it up top.
Uh, I, Kara, I, I, I heard you on a huge delay.
Um, and then there was this point right where I was always continuing on.
Like I didn't hear you because what I'm going to do, it's a very odd delay.
Um, yeah, it's, it's a great space.
It's really fun.
You know, look, if you, if you know me from in here from anywhere else and you
have a song that you absolutely want to share, uh, I don't think I've stopped
anybody yet.
Um, but yeah, it's like, it's more of just like a hang space.
We, we share some wine.
I, I usually try, we haven't picked the wine yet.
So, uh, I haven't posted what the wine's going to be this week.
Uh, but if you want to join us, uh, I tend to try to go with a bottle under
20 bucks.
Um, that way it's nice and affordable for everybody.
And you know, if you can't get the exact wine, like Kara, Kara didn't really,
she could have gotten the 19 crime.
She just doesn't like it.
And so, uh, with the, you know, a blend, like we, we went with a blend theme.
So, you know, I think Devin, I think Devin did the same thing.
I'm pretty sure Devin, it was.
I got a, I got a, I got a blended red.
It was the dreaming tree.
Uh, cause we're the, the date Matthews blend.
So yeah, let's go.
Dreaming tree.
It was a great label.
I definitely, I need to go buy that one.
I buy my wines for the label, not for the wine.
Uh, but anyway, yeah, I posted it up.
Thanks guys.
I love it.
All right.
Well, let's push on.
Um, do we have any more music to be shared this evening?
I can go if you want.
Absolutely.
I did get your message.
Um, and you sent me the message ever today.
I just saw Dave throw his hand up.
So Dave, if you want to play one, I'll, I'll happily happily concede the
stage to you, bro.
I would say the same for you heads or tails.
Oh, I love me some heads.
So let's go.
I'm not sure.
I'm not sure I want to flip this now.
I mean, after that, I'm going to insist that you go first, sir.
All right.
Well, then I'm going to play a, um, one of my originals and it's about a girl.
So, uh, I'm sure if, if you've been to the space before you've heard it, it's
called her own games and it's, it's just a fun song to play.
So thank you, Dave.
When she found me, I was face down and out.
She lived in my head with her hand.
She cried my darling, what's become of you?
Cause I know there's so much more to your man.
I didn't think I mattered and she never really seemed to care because she was
always just playing her own games.
I didn't know that I was her fire and that she always held my flame.
Well, she rescued me and nursed me back to myself.
But I'll never forget what she said when she sent me away.
She told me, honey, you've lingered here just long enough for now.
Go and become who you're supposed to be.
I didn't think I mattered and she never really seemed to care.
Oh, but she was always playing her own games.
And you know, we've found that fire and we'll always share that flame.
She'll always be there for me at the end of the line.
No matter what any odds makers may say.
Cause when her love's never die, she is mine at the end of every single day.
I didn't think I mattered and she never really seemed to care.
Cause she was always just playing her own games.
I didn't know that I was her fire and that she always held my flame.
I didn't think I mattered and she never really seemed to care.
Oh, but she was always playing her own games.
And you know, we've found that fire and we'll always share that flame.
I love that song so much.
Yeah, I got a fan boy out for a second.
I'm fist in the air just yelling.
Not really.
Oh, don't yell.
I love it, bro.
Appreciate you.
I love that Devin and your strings, the way that you played them.
And that sounded amazing and your voice too.
Thanks everybody.
I really appreciate it.
And Mela, thank you for throwing the mic at me and hosting this space.
Even though you're, you're, you know, fighting off COVID and everything right now.
I yeah, you're awesome.
And your, your co-host fondue that, that, you know, he's awesome too.
I love you guys.
I love you.
I love this space.
I love you guys.
Thanks for having me up.
And, uh, I'll shut my drunk ass up now.
Love you guys.
We love you.
I'm so stoked and happy that you come to PIMP radio.
I almost forgot the name of my own goddamn space.
I am so sick, but, um, I'm so happy that you come like every week you always play
You know, it was, it was like you, you came and then every week since then you've
been here.
And I really appreciate that.
I love your vibes and your humor and your music.
Your voice is fucking killer.
And I'm so looking forward to the day that we can jam in real life.
We're going to totally have to, you know, share a bill someday.
I want to get you out to a show.
So I'd love to.
I'd love to.
Absolutely.
I'm so there.
I'm so there.
Thank you, Mala.
And thanks for doing too.
And thanks, Kara.
You guys are awesome.
Much love, dude.
Um, all right.
Well, the coin was flipped.
Uh, heads, heads went first and now for tails, tails.
I'm half tempted to say I agree with everything he just said and then just leave
the space and like quit and throw my phone out.
Cause yeah, you guys rock.
Um, that song ruled, uh, Kara what's up.
You guys space is awesome too.
I loiter in your space.
Like it's Taco Bell.
Anyway, I'm not going to screw up this time.
Can I play you my new song, please?
Yeah, absolutely.
I just got to say something real quick.
I noticed there's a whole lot of people down there with a lightning bolts and
they just happen to have bees.
There's bees in there.
In their names.
This is interesting.
Who are these people?
Look at this.
You see all those people down there with the lightning bolts.
The attack of the killer bees.
What's going on?
Very on brand for Mela B.
So I like it.
I'm here for it.
Um, yeah, feel free to come up, grab a mic people.
I want to pick your brains and see what you're all about.
But until then sit back, relax and enjoy some beautiful music from our friend
All right.
I would like you to ask yourself one question, uh, as you listen to this and
come up with the answer at the end of the song.
Or west coast love.
Break in your heart.
West coast.
I adore that song.
What a catchy hook.
And my answer is.
Anybody got a drum roll?
Oh, wait.
East coast dreams.
Well, it was hard for me to say.
I'm also East coast dreams.
It was hard for me to pick.
Cause like,
Oh, I've had a lot of love on the west coast and I've had love interests
on the East coast that have never come to fruition.
So that's, that's really interesting.
It sounds like you've had East coast dreams and West coast love.
I'm bi coastal.
Thank you, Mela B.
Thank you so much for letting me play.
Absolutely.
I love when you come up and play for us, Dave.
You have so much music and I just,
I want to hear it all.
And my favorite place to hear it is Pimp radio just hits.
What a coincidence.
That's my favorite place to play it.
This is a, I was going to,
I was threatening to play it yesterday, but I held out for Pimp.
I actually couldn't hook up my stuff.
That's such a good hook though.
East coast dreams.
Such a good song man. Can I cover that?
Would you please cover that?
You got a video.
We got to get that on YouTube.
If you do a cover, I want to see that.
That's amazing.
Yeah. I would probably die if you did that.
So well, if you want to kill me and do that.
Please don't kill Dave.
Tell me like the, the chords and the lyrics and stuff.
Dave, you're one of those guys when you come into a space, man,
you're just like, you're one of those guys that can just do no wrong.
You know, like whatever you do, whatever you put out there, it's,
it's always awesome, man.
Thank you, dude.
I love you. I love it. I love your sound like,
and I'm just going to say like East.
Yeah. East coast dreaming about West coast love because that was,
that was awesome.
Love it. Love it. Yeah. I won't pick a side,
but I do from live in Long Island. So do with that, what you will.
We did get a question in the comments asking whose song that was because
it's so dang catchy and this is to confirm that was Dave from Long Island.
Dave from Long Island. That actually came out today.
I'm sorry. I got to plug it.
It came out today streaming, I believe everywhere.
I'm looking at it on Apple music. I think it'll hit spot on.
If I later it's been a Raven coin token for a couple of days.
I wrote it on Friday. Yeah.
Get that in the, get that in the jumbo Tron. So people.
Definitely not Dave. So if I search for you on like iTunes, I,
do I want to look for Dave from LI or, or what do I look for?
Actually, if you find, if you search for definitely not Dave,
you will find, I don't know who that is. It's definitely not Dave, but,
yeah, those are some of my songs. And then if you search for Dave from Long
Island, you will also find some of my songs.
Definitely not Dave is not you.
Well, I'm not saying that it's not, it's definitely not Dave.
I don't know what's happening right now. Yeah.
People are going to be confused and that's literally the point.
That would be, thank you. You get it.
I feel like that was a triple negative. So it's like,
I guess it's a positive. Yeah.
But if it was, what if it was to the power of three, would it still work the
same way? I don't know. My brain exploded.
What's the, what's the square root of Dave?
I actually think that if it's a triple agent, that means that it's negative.
Like it's got to be an event. Yeah. We want it to cancel each other out.
Guys, I don't know. Yeah, he's right. The square root of Dave.
Yeah. So the point is right. That answers your question, right, AJ?
I'm just, I'm confused and I'm going to go back to my bowl of shrimp here that
I'm having for dinner. Beautiful. I will DM you, sir.
But I do. Yes. You're, you're one of my heroes and I appreciate it.
Thank you, man. I did. You're so glad guys, Dave. You're one of the, like,
I mean, Fondue is up there too, but you and Fondue and the other guy,
Lucius. And I think Mel is going to start checking the messages I sent her.
I know you're a busy lady, but to get feedback when you are in a remote,
remote location, I know like Fondue lives in the middle of nowhere, Colorado.
I live in the middle of nowhere, Utah. Like we do have some live music events.
I used to go play live with my friend, Chris Williams.
He was in a band called Napoleon machine gun.
And we play live at the stage at the local bowling alley.
But like that, that was it. So like get feedback from musicians that are
actually going to DM you and be like, okay, check it out.
Like your vocals are a little wacky. Why don't you fine tune that?
Or where's the base? And you know, just to get real feedback,
it is so fricking valuable. And I really, really love you guys.
I'm so glad to seriously. Like that's, I'm, yeah,
I'm happy to hear that like that. Please keep doing it. Feel free to,
I love to do it.
Make me happy. Like I've been writing,
I've been getting all my sulky like a sorted like angsty stuff out,
right? Since I'm going,
I guess I'm going through my midlife crisis, right?
With the cryptocurrency scam and a bit of breakup. So I'm getting that out.
And then I listened to Dave from a long, I'm like, Oh,
I'm fucking happy again.
Oh man. I appreciate that. That's, that's, that's my goal. You know,
I want to make you happier.
Yeah. Yeah.
I love that so much. That made me happy that Dave from Long Island makes
you happy. I'm now happy. So Dave.
I can't keep up. I have tried to keep up. I can't keep up.
So the best way to get ahold of me, please join the discord.
It's linked in my bio.
And what I'm going to do is I'm going to create a channel this evening or
maybe tomorrow morning because I'm fucking sick with COVID and tired and I
want to go to bed soon, but, um,
I'm going to create a channel that is specifically for music
feedback.
And then it'll be open for people to share links and stuff and like upload
stuff. Cause the rest of the channels,
I have it pretty locked down for the links just cause we had some trolling
happening back in the day and I don't need that shit. I don't,
I'm not here for it. So please, please join the discord.
I know you can get in now cause I made sure you can that your account was very,
very new and that's why it wouldn't let you in. Like I said,
I locked my shit down cause of trolls. So, um, yeah,
if you ever,
if you ever want to like reach me and I'm not answering in DMS,
the best way to do so is going to be the discord. Cool.
Yeah. Rock and roll. I'm actually going to get on it right now.
So look for my, um, whatever it's called, follow request. I'm not,
I'm new to discord. So whatever it is, just let me in and we'll, we'll groove.
Yeah. So if you go to my, uh, the link in my bio, this goes for everybody.
If you go to the link in my bio, you'll see, join the Melaverse discord,
you join it and then you're in and then you go to general chat and general chat
is, is exactly what it sounds like. It's the general chat.
You can just go in and say what up. Um,
and then there's other channels for those people that aren't well versed on
discord. All the channels are different things.
So like the backstage pass channel is the gated channel for people that own my,
my collectibles, my music NFTs. Um, and yeah, what is that?
I don't even know what that is. Um,
it's all right. The men's clothes. Anyway, nobody's got to worry about that.
I know. I know. Okay. Well, you know what? I should probably talk about that too.
Um, so for those of you that did not see my post about it,
I unfortunately had to close the mint on dance and cry.
The wallet that I used to mint the song on sound.
XYZ was compromised and I have lost some funds from that wallet.
Luckily I, um,
was able to revoke the access of the fishing bot and,
um, do what I needed to do to be able to, uh,
like secure it again.
But I didn't want to take the risk of like any further issues.
And at the time I was like, fuck it.
I'm just going to close the mint and whatever has minted so far is now there's
only 28, um, copies of dance and cry.
So if you got it, you got it. If you didn't, I'm sorry.
There will be other opportunities to get access to the melloverse right now.
The only other way is to either buy,
actually the only way is to buy one of the collectibles on the secondary market.
I don't even know if any of them are listed. Um, but yeah,
I had to close it and then I was trying to figure out how to secure the funds
because there were some earnings in there and I did get that figured out.
So don't worry. All I had to do was find a loophole,
which was, um,
I went into the split on sound and I added my new wallet,
my safe wallet. I added that as a collaborator.
And then I gave my compromised wallet zero point cause you can't take it off
cause it's the contract owner. I gave my compromised wallet 0.01% of the mint.
Um, which is just nothing.
And then I gave my share to my new wallet.
So I was able to secure the bag. We're all good there. Don't worry.
I did lose some, I lost my entire ENS drop, which was 60 ENS,
which is currently valued about like $1,700.
So I lost that scammers. Sorry.
I hate scammers. It's the worst.
And then I was very bitter for like three days now.
I'm just like, fuck whatever. But, um, yeah, I lost that.
I lost some payment for us for other things as well.
So I think in total I lost about 2.5 3k.
It is what it is. There's nothing I can do about it. Um,
but this is a lesson guys. This is a lesson learned about, um,
not even about like, yes, it's a security lesson.
There are things that I, I pretty much did what I was supposed to do.
I had my, I have multiple different wallets.
That wallet was my, um,
my wallet that I used exclusively for minting NFTs and for small transactions
of like, if someone needed to pay me for something. So, you know,
someone sent me some money to send them some bracelets cause I make friendship
bracelets, stuff like that. So money in, that was that wallet. Um,
and then I have my money out wallet. I have, you know, my hardware wallet.
I have my other wallets and luckily it wasn't my main wallet that got
compromised. Um,
but this is just a lesson in like when we mint these music NFTs,
we have to realize like if you mint it on a wallet, like,
and that wallet gets compromised, um, you know,
it's like you're kind of, you're kind of fucked.
So we gotta be mindful of these things and be very, very careful.
Um, hopefully sound.xyz,
I had an email conversation with them about this because at the time I had no
idea what to do. I was like, how do I even secure these funds?
And they basically told me there's nothing they could do. They were like, yeah,
the song is lost forever and you can not get the funds and we can't do anything
for you. And I was like,
we had to be smarter than the average bear though.
Yeah, exactly.
I hopped on a call with fondue and we figured shit out.
So there's always where there's a will, there's a way.
We had the will and we found, we found the way. So, um, but yeah,
unfortunately I did have to close the mint.
So there are 28 copies of dance and cry and a day from
Long Island may or may not hold 10 of those.
So, uh, yeah,
but there are going to be more drops and more opportunities to get into the
mellow verse. So don't you worry, things are happening.
Jesus. I forgot that Dave bought 10 of those.
It's not my way in. I told, I warned you though, right? Didn't I warn you?
Yup. He warned us.
What is happening? What, what am I, there's no more dance and cry?
No, dance and cry has minted out because I had to,
I closed the mint because my, my wallet got compromised.
No, don't worry, Rocky. I'm, I'm very bitter about it as well.
Um, we're in, we're in a very similar position of not having them.
There was an option that Fondue and I talked about where, you know,
perhaps I could, like, I don't know. I don't,
I don't want to do anything with the current copies.
Like I want those copies to be what they are and they exist and,
and whoever holds them, holds them. And that's awesome. So, you know,
I think I'm, I'm sad to say that there's a lot of things that we could do to
collect in a different way, perhaps, uh, you know,
maybe an acoustic version or a piano rendition or something in the future
could come about, but you know, there's, there's other songs, guys.
I've written 80 songs. There's other songs to be, uh,
to be minted and collected. So.
I am a sad panda.
I was um a little hasty with closing the mint. My thing was I didn't want anybody to mint it
and like to potentially lose even more of the funds because at the time I didn't know if I
would be able to secure them. I didn't know if I'd be able to move them from the sound.xyz
platform to a safe wallet. So I was like well if that's the case if these funds are just
fucking lost forever then I'm gonna close the mint and make sure that nothing else gets lost.
But then I found the loophole and I was like well shit. So I just I wanted to act quickly on
closing the mint once I realized that that's what I had to do. And then yeah it is what it is as
Rocky would say. It is what it is. I don't I don't like this version of video what it is. I don't
like that one. I'm sorry I look I came up here obviously in the middle of the discussion so I
don't know what actually happened to your wallet. So I'm sorry to hear that that that really sucks
um but I'm pretty sure. You want to know what's crazy about it? I don't even know what happened to
my wallet because like I said I don't use that wallet. Like when I say I don't use that wallet
I mean prior to getting drained because like I got drained 195 days ago okay or I guess now it'd
be like 198 or something. I got my ENS drop got my ENS airdrop which was you know 60 ENS
got drained 195 days ago and at the time it was the only thing of value in my wallet because I
don't use that wallet. It's like my it's it's the wallet I just don't use for much right. We all
have those little wallets lying around. So it was like my NFT minty wallet that was it. So
I don't use it and the previous transaction to getting drained was literally like 300 and
something or 400 days prior to getting drained. So that's extremely confusing because I would have
needed to sign something. I would have had to approve some sort of transaction or provide a
signature for that transaction to happen in order to have this fishing bot be placed in my wallet
right. So it's like okay did that fishing bot get placed in my wallet 400 days before it actually
drained anything because there was nothing in my wallet for it to drain and then once something
did enter my wallet it finally got a chance to drain it and then after draining the ENS drop
more recently some transactions started to happen in that wallet payments royalties and stuff like
that from NFTs so from other things. So that immediately got drained from my wallet. So this
fishing bot has just been sitting in my wallet draining whatever came in and my big mistake was
not checking in on my transactions because I didn't use the wallet. I just assumed it was safe.
You know like I said it had been like 400 days since I'd really done anything on it so I just
assumed you know it's fine and dandy. So it's very confusing and then another factor that I was
talking to Fondue about last night actually that we're both very confused about and everyone I've
told about this is extremely confused and this should never ever happen. I got locked out of that
wallet at one point because it was so inactive that I got signed out and I was like okay yeah
that's normal you know I got I got signed out I need to recover the wallet that's fine. So I
clicked recover thinking that it was going to ask me for my seed phrase. No it didn't ask me for
my seed phrase it just provided me another seed phrase and then gave me access to my original
wallet and that should never ever ever ever ever happen or else anybody could get into my wallet
right. So yeah it's absolutely fucked like that is the most elaborate scheme I've ever heard of
if that's you know how the phishing bot got into my wallet because I don't know when that was
that's not a transaction that's recorded on etherscan there's no like oh you recovered your
wallet on this day so I don't know when that was but it was some time ago. Was this a metamask
wallet that you were using? Yeah yeah we're all fucked. So I yeah and this is like there is no
answer to this like I genuinely don't know how to further investigate this I'm in the middle of like
conversing with some devs they're all so confused they've never heard of that happening but I shit
you not guys the way the reason I it's not like a false memory or anything because I have two
seed phrases for the same wallet now it's fucked. Well what like is there one that works over the
other or are they both work because that's in that like they shouldn't both work. Um I'm I don't know
I haven't tried both of them yet.
She's got such a beautiful voice even if she doesn't realize her mic's on.
You know someone might be listening to her and understanding and I'm gonna mute her mic just in
case this is a private conversation. Um but yeah so I don't know how that happened I have two seed
phrases for the same wallet it's I guess I could try and like lot like I don't know I don't know.
What I would what I would say is um you probably want to make a new wallet all together.
Um yep I have yeah do that and I don't know if you use coinbase um I can't I can't use
coinbase it's not it's not a candidate thing. Wait no we have coinbase you're you use coinbase here
yeah it's I think I think can we wait two ago but yeah we have centralized exchange to get your
money off of that as much as you can. I don't use this is the thing is I there's only one exchange I use
and it's wealth simple because it is insured heavily um by like it's it's a Canadian Canadian
exchange that I use extremely minimally like I am not hella exposed on any centralized exchange
because the whole point of crypto is a trustless system. The second you put funds on an exchange
you are putting trust in that exchange to hold on to your currency for you so I do not trust
exchanges because my I I trust in the blockchain not in exchanges so that's just a personal
preference. I hold majority of my bags on a hardware wallet that I don't ever ever ever ever
ever touch it just sits there and it it grows it's nice I like checking on it every once in a while
but I just let it sit there so um yeah I I don't know I I'm using MetaMask uh on it like a separate
browser I created like for those of you if you ever end up in this situation the way that you
got to navigate this in my opinion is you open up a whole new browser like the the MetaMask extension
is now compromised so you need to close that browser open up a new browser
um open up the MetaMask extension on that new browser create a new wallet
and then take that wallet address and go into etherscan and in etherscan you're gonna log in
to that wallet address on etherscan and you're gonna go up to more there's a button that says
more and then you're going to click token approvals and then you're going to click see all
make sure you click see all because the hidden ones are the ones that are malicious so if you
don't click see all you're not going to see the fishing bot so you have to go into see all and
then you're going to see any token approvals that have that have happened in that wallet and that
might still be active in your wallet so I would I would urge everybody to do that for all of your
wallets right now just go in and check your token approvals and revoke access to any of
the ones that you're uncertain of um believe it or not when I did this it literally pops up with a
little like red flag it's like the little like triangle with the exclamation mark and it's red
and it said fishing uh what was it inferno fishing something I can't remember what it said
but yeah so that's what happened it is what it is I you know I did lose a bit of a bag
but it could be a whole lot worse so this is a lesson um check your token approvals
and no matter if you're using a wallet often or not shit happens so keep your eye on it
it feels like there's nothing you can do and I get that like with coinbase when I contacted them
they're like did you voluntarily send the money to the scammer I'm like yeah
but the one thing I figured out as I'm coping you know through the crisis of it all is the one
thing we can do it sounds cheesy but is to forgive yourself for or the scammer or whoever you want
to forgive and that helps you to move on and not be gritting with anger um so I don't know for me
24k I had I had to just say fuck it I forgive them uh maybe it's my karma from a past life maybe
I was a thief in a past life and this is my karma uh whatever it is uh they're gonna get theirs
and um yeah and I can always just buy more crypto so yeah yeah it's uh
I spent three days wallowing in self-pity and then I got over it and said fuck it let's just
deal with this so only three you're a champion I spent three months and I thought I had thoughts
of suicide man I mean like I said it could have been a lot worse I you know it is a big chunk of
money like about 3k I mean with current token values it might be more than that now but um
it was a decent chunk of money but at the same time like um I guess that's that's the price that
I'm paying for not being precautionary and not like I I made an error I made a mistake there's
no like and you know what scammers we can put the blame on them and and be angry with them all we
want but I made an error and there's nothing I can do to change that error the only thing I can do
is educate and move forward and um not make those errors again the one that I'm not sure of how to
avoid is the seed phrase thing like the fact that I was able to get into my wallet with
out my seed phrase and it gave me a new seed phrase and gave me access to the same wallet
that is beyond me I have absolutely no fucking clue how that that's even possible um the only
thing I would say on that is that happened on my my phone metamask app so I will not be using
metamask on my phone ever again because that's where that happened it wasn't on desktop so
have you reached out to their support to let them know that this happened
I have not I I just assume that all support with metamask is fucking scammy I don't know how to
navigate that I I don't know any any support with the crypto I'm just like yeah they're not going
to do shit but yeah I should let them know that happened just so they can investigate it I mean
even just even just tag them in the post that breaks all down what happened um you know I'm
I'm sure they have a twitter and just something so that at least somebody from the team is aware
that that occurred because I I doubt that that's something that they intended to happen um you know
that would not be very good for the company and it's already the fact that it happened is already
not not really good for that yeah and like I mean I won't be using that wallet anymore but I'd be
definitely interested like AJ was saying I think it was AJ um to see which seed phrase works and
like do both seed phrase work to get into this wallet because if that's the case that's wild
that's absolutely insane so I'm gonna I'm gonna check in on that I don't even want to interact
with that uh with that wallet but there's got to be a way to do it um the other thing is I don't
know if it it uh corrupted my files on my computer if anybody is well versed on how to like clean
up my computer because I a while about a while ago I uploaded some music to SoundCloud um for
like an epk purpose I was sending some music to to someone at uh a company that wanted to to hear it
and um they they responded to me saying they loved the music and everything but they said
that the songs were um they had like a scanner on their browser and they said that my music was
corrupted with key logging which is fucked like when you think about the fact that like a song
that I created in my DAW was corrupted with key logging like does that mean that all of my photos
all of my music all of my files on my computer are now corrupted because of whatever bought
um got a hold of my wallet I don't know um this computer that I have is not very old
I prior to this happening like I've had it maybe like a couple maybe like what would it be now
three years so and like I don't really use it a whole lot I use it for very very minimal mostly
just making music and stuff so I don't know how that would have happened other than this like
malicious bot in my in my wallet so I don't know I gotta figure out how to clean up my computer
I'm not finished with figuring out this issue there's a bunch of music that I would like to
keep that is potentially corrupted and yeah this shit is uh it's scary it's definitely scary
but we'll see what happens I'm working on it um you should find out whatever they were using
to find you know to that queued them that your uh your was key logged yeah and uh let's see if
you can figure it out for the rest of your tracks yeah yeah luckily it's just like very preliminary
demos on my computer all of our actual demos and all of our actual recordings are on Dakota's
computer so that's a very lucky um scenario to be in my computer is not the main computer so that's
that's good Shane what's up I was gonna say if you if you wanted to uh I've always had issues
getting hold of a customer service through the website um I've gotten a lot better and quicker
responses even even within you know even with MetaMask I I've tried for days to get hold of uh
MetaMask support on the website and I found better luck even with lack the coin bases and the
crypto.coms and even MetaMask um if you go straight to their their their support page
and uh send them a DM they usually respond pretty quick that way yeah yeah maybe I'll do that
and explain the reason I didn't do anything like that up to this point like I feel like now I have
some more information and I just I wasn't understanding what happened when it first
happened so I was like you know what I'm going to try and investigate this a little bit myself
and understand what it is that's going on and then hopefully have enough information to be able to
actually reach out to whether it's like a dev or them right I think your first red flag would have
been not them giving you a new seed phrase if you already you know if you already had access
to the wall no previously excuse me yeah yeah exactly I don't know I don't know I I went to
recover the account and and that's what happened and then it was interesting because like I went
in and I and everything looked normal I was like okay yeah same amounts in my wallet like nothing's
changed at the time I didn't know how to check token approvals on etherscan so I wasn't aware
that I could go in and see if there was like any malicious activity happening so yeah now I'm just
I'm just a little bit more knowledgeable about how to do that but I will say this token approval
scanner thing is in beta on etherscan so I don't even know when that became a thing like it's it's
it's fairly new it's got to be new it's still in beta so when you connect to it it's gonna have
this little thing that says like not really it's not really a warning but it's just a notice saying
like that the the like this token approval thing is new so yeah I don't know I I don't know where
to go from here other than stop using the wallet maybe report what happened I have a shit ton of
NFTs like not my NFTs like purchased NFTs sitting in that wallet and I don't know how I'm going to
move them because my eth got trained so and I and I can't move anything into the wallet because if
I move anything into the wallet I risk it getting drained by the bots so all those NFTs that I held
all the way to zero might be forever zero I think it's kind of funny I don't know
it's not funny but I laugh when I'm uncomfortable so it is what it is
um yeah anyways that's enough about me getting scammed fucking fishing bots I wish I I wish I
was smart enough to to scam them back and take my money back but I'm not yeah it's already been done
once in the recorded history of cryptocurrency scams I made my own youtube video to warn the
world about my situation but I watched a few others and vice uh you know that vice company
that does like media stuff they put out something and saying there was a gay guy who got scammed
by a gay like tinder swindler and somehow he convinced the guy to send him back half of his
money but they're merciless they'll never there's nothing you can do I try I tried the same thing
yeah yeah I mean things are only going I don't mean to be the bearer of bad news but like these
scams are going to become more elaborate as the tech advances especially with AI advancements
like things are going to become uh it's going to become very easy to scam people like with
with the good comes the bad there are pros and cons to everything so with the advancement of AI
and the advancement of blockchain technology there's going to be people that use it for great
things and then there's going to be people that do that do absolutely horrendous things with it
so we have to be very careful and as much as we like to think we're doing the right thing
and like you know like I thought I thought I was doing the right thing I thought I had okay I have
this wallet for this I have this wallet for that I keep my main bags here I you know I thought I
was doing the right thing for the most part um but there's there's some stuff that I still needed to
learn and I had to learn it the hard way apparently so I don't know I I don't know it is what it is
right Rocky
idea what idea I wish I could say it like you I can't it doesn't have to say you can you just
it's just look the thing is you just got to not accentuate any of the letters you make it one word
you know like instead of separating like it's now one word idea what idea you know you know it is
yeah there's no see there you go okay all right there you go and if you don't make it don't talk
to me I don't like the way you can break down you know what I'm saying down to two syllables you know
what I'm saying can be reduced to nah I'm saying nah I'm saying nah I'm saying that's that's a fact
too you know I'm saying you know where I'm from sometimes they be like nah me you know you know
you guys have never heard of noofies have you because a noofie can say an entire paragraph in
one word there's a picture there's a picture of two noofies here anybody but mela and rocky
uh I'm gonna jump in a drop down and and come out it's gotta be me because can't hear AJ
now I can't hear Devin I know I can't hear Cara so all right I'll be right back
all right I'll wait for him because I want to finish this with him
uh well because it's it's a it's a good thing it's a good thing but seriously a noofie can say
an entire sentence in one word it's true oh fondu's connecting hold on uh I'm seeing him connecting
here but it's true come on fondu get up there where the fuck is he I don't see him I see him
connecting and now oh he's listening there he is there he is he's laughing okay get him up to
speaker he's got a request let's go I'm trying to keep on train with my thought here too
okay he's back can you hear us where's are you there can you hear me fondu yeah okay okay okay
a noofie can finish an entire paragraph in one word not a sentence a paragraph
because there's a picture of two noofies crossing each other on their ships in the water and one
looks at the other and says iron and the other one says narn and in those two words
it's were there any fish out there today no there were no fish out there today
oh my god it's so true it it's like you know when you hear it like because I had a friend
who's a noofie he he recently passed away he was a good man but uh he taught me a lot of stuff
about Newfoundland and the east coast and like I just I I don't know I like I said before I love
people so like just different people always throw different things at you and I just I don't know I
didn't mean to derail the conversation from Mela's uh unfortunate mishap there but you know I just
wanted to throw that in there as a bit of levity no I mean anyway I feel like it's time for
time for some music no I mean yeah no I mean for sizzle hey I'm gonna just my bad mela fine
um I'm not gonna send you anything um I'm here I just I've made dinner um I haven't eaten yet
but uh two people have already eaten before I have so I'm gonna be eating soon um but I'm
drinking a beer right now enjoying my beer before I eat my dinner my amazing dinner Cara I am gonna
take a picture so you can see it don't worry um but yeah you can go into the vault whenever you
want to do that and if I drop down um I will come back it's probably because I'm trying to take a
picture yeah let's go wait what's for dinner should I guess is it is it chicken okay so I
totally made I totally made chicken thighs right so my homie bought the chicken right
I didn't tell him to buy chicken he just bought chicken um so I'm just I'm cooking what what we
have okay um I have yet to decide what I'm gonna call this chicken because it's a variation of
like a barbecue but it's not you know like it's not like regular barbecue it's kind of like more
on the Korean side um you know some plum juice and and ginger and some other things I have an
idea for what you can call it what you're thinking about a Korean barbecue well see no that's that
that's just too that's just way too simple I refuse to call it because like because look I'm
not actually Korean right and and since I was the one that made it even though it may be lots of
people that make Korean barbecue are all Korean but even but look so look so if I make fried
chicken does that mean I have to be fried when I make it no but I mean like look if I if I make
if I make Chinese food like I can't make Chinese food okay when it comes out like it's not gonna
be Chinese food okay like I can make fried rice I can make chicken wings I can make general sauce
chicken it is of you know the culture but I it's not Chinese food if I made it okay it's only
Chinese food if a Chinese person made it like that that's just it here what it did and if you
don't like it don't talk to me so I refuse even though I'm taking ideas from it's just me taking
ideas from their culture and things that they do but it would be disrespectful of me to call it
you know Chinese food you know it must really bug you when the vegans call their their nuggets
chicken nuggets oh my goodness mela b you don't even look I have that's also other appropriation
I have actually worked in multiple vegan kitchens so I actually know how some some things are made
and it's like bro that's tofu like it literally has a name like like just call it what it is like
tofu in the shape of a nugget that is um that is a mushroom you know like no it is not a steak
like just call it a mushroom like like that okay that that dude bears okay just quick thought
bears eat everything my friend and his girlfriend went out camping and a black bear ransacked their
their campsite when they went off for a hike and to go fishing and when they came back the bear
ate everything except and this is a black bear it they'll eat anything it ate everything except
the tofurkey they just wasn't and listen I like tofu no like tofu even the bear even the bear was
like I'm not a soy boy look listen I work it must have been a big male I worked at this vegan place
where they made this this like spicy tofu soup that was like so fucking great and look I don't
mind it just call it what it is it's tofu like say you know I'm saying if you got some yes
I've had fried tofu I was delicious I'll admit it but if you if you're gonna fry some some
mushrooms up you know I'm saying like don't call it fried chicken call it fried mushrooms because
that's what they are like mushrooms are a thing I would still eat fried mushrooms as a person who's
not vegan you know I'm saying I don't want to pretend because when you tell me absolutely when
you tell me it's chicken now my expectation is that it has to taste like chicken and it should
be like chicken and then when it's not that because it's not gonna be that I don't care how good it
may be or you know how close to the it's not gonna be what it is you know so you're you're
fucking my expectation up just tell me it's a mushroom and then I can be like oh this is a
mushroom that's pretty damn good and it kind of maybe tastes like chicken slightly yeah you know
what my you know with that is like you could make you could make like we'll use the mushroom example
if you tell everybody that it's it's fucking vegan chicken or whatever they're gonna be like
comparing it to chicken and it's gonna be like sub par right but if you tell people that it's
mushrooms and you fucking knock that shit out of the park they're gonna be like this is the best
mushroom I've ever had oh my god it tastes sort of like meat that's definitely a better scenario
than them being like yeah I guess it's kind of like chicken like I don't know yeah exactly absolutely
well you're comparing the texture of a fungus to the texture of actual meat so when you bite into
it you're like this feels like I'm eating fungus it doesn't feel like I'm eating meat I'm sorry
I'm sorry it doesn't it's a mushroom that tastes like chicken you're absolutely right something
that that they like to use is um jackfruit um I worked at a place and they uh they use jackfruit
and they call it pulled pork and that is it is not anything close to some sounds like a jackfruit
and you around bro some damn pulled pork like it is so like so disrespectful I feel like we got
to play a weird al yankovic song about food to break the ice on this topic and get back into
some music now yeah but real quick Rocky maybe you should call it Korean inspired chicken thighs
this way you're not claiming it it is well look the thing is I just like my own creative names
you know like it is Korean inspired for sure but uh I think like you know once I take a bite of it
or you know something I'll figure out a name um because I also did like some maple stuff to it
and so I don't know I'll figure it out um but yeah I got the chicken and I got some collard greens
and and some mac and cheese yeah I haven't made a mac and cheese in so long and uh you know I don't
want to toot my own horn but uh I make I make one of the best mac and cheeses that I know
I prefer my mac and cheese over a lot of people's mac and cheese and that's just because I'm good
at it I'm just you know I'll say it like if somebody makes something better than me I'll say
it there are people who make better fried chicken in me I'm not the best at fried chicken um even
though I can make some but you know mac and cheese it's one of my specialties so I'm I'm
hype I'm excited and fine doodle has a hand up even though he's a co-host well because I I was
I was gonna just mute you uh honestly in the middle of that whole rant about fucking mac and cheese
and it's not even a rant I was like that see that's what I was gonna do um except I I let you finish
though right like I let you finish so you know just feel good I didn't I didn't mute you uh
unnecessarily um but uh no listen listen I'm gonna play a song because uh we've gone we've
gone a very extended amount of time without a song being played and this is pimp radio and it
is plug your music please it's not plug your macaroni please it's not plug your you know plug
your favorite dinner or your fake korean chicken or or whatever the hell else your your plug it's
not fake it's real okay it's fake because it's not real uh okay all right no for real though
so I always tell like a story with this song I think I've only played it one time on spaces maybe
um there was a time like many many years ago where I was playing this show and it was one of those
shitty shows right where you're you're like supposed to sell tickets and there's like a
hundred bands and and like it's during a time when nobody's buying your tickets so it's like
if I could get somebody to buy my tickets I wouldn't have to come and play this shitty show
with a hundred bands right you know um so anyway after the show was over uh I'm packing up and
this this girl comes up to me and she's like says hi and you know my girl she she was you
know she was still my girl at the time and uh she she always knows when to step away right like
she she knows that I'm gonna I'm gonna have fans and some are gonna be girls and so they uh she
comes up and she was like oh you guys were so great you know did you see me over in the back
there and I was like uh nope I didn't see anybody because uh you know you there's a lot of people
there and uh well she didn't really love that answer because she was like oh well you know
your music was so great that I almost flashed you and I was like hmm I'm like what what what
the fuck is almost flashing me you know did I get like the underboob or something like what's the
you know how does that work and she didn't really answer but she told me how I should
like write a song about how she almost flashed me and uh out came this song that I'm about to
play right now that's called almost never counts
I'll call my name I turned around
got just a quick request won't you hear me out your tunes they left me nearly exposed
couldn't you spot me over there lifting up my clothes just as the saying used to go almost
only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades without the goods you can't get late it's time
to call you out and say you're just another passerby sometimes it ain't because it's easy
you're coming off just a little sleazy I believe it's safe to say that your whole plan is gonna
ride yeah because this bitch wanted me to write like a real song about her flash me not not one
more I made fun of her you know I know I stayed up a little late
see huh now here's the thing I couldn't seem to clear my plate the sun still rises the wind will
blow I almost got you just in time kept you from walking out the door just as the saying used to go
almost only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades without the goods you can't get late it's time
to call you out and say you're just another passerby sometimes it ain't because it's easy you're
coming off just a little sleazy and I believe it's safe to say that your whole plan is gonna
ride your whole plan is gonna ride
horseshoes and hand grenades without the goods you can't get late it's time to call you out and say
you're just another passerby sometimes it ain't because it's easy you're coming off just a little
sleazy and I believe it's safe to say that your whole plan is gonna ride
I love that song so much it's so clever fucking killed it bro what the fuck like what what in
the actual fuck fonduto okay first of all let me say this all right the very first time I met you
you sang like three covers to me like two or two or three covers and like two originals
um that very much sounded like something that you would that you covered okay like I'm that like
you fucking wrote that shit bro like I'm trying to I'm trying to make sense of this shit because
last night I had you sing uncle fucker the cara all right and I'm the one who challenged you to
to sing that shit and you know you do it you know I've heard you go skeet skeet motherfucker
ah skeet skeet god damn you know all that shit and then you just come moseying around here with
this you got a girl a woman a lady that's telling you she's your biggest fan and that she wanted to
show you her chest that she almost showed you her chest and you were like bitch what you didn't
so now I'm gonna write a song yeah man that's why the song is called almost never counts
like this is literally like like I wish I could take credit for for saying that like you know if
you would have told me you wrote this last week I would be like yo that is just fun hanging out
with me way too much because this is prime rocky to grimy so disrespectful volume one type shit
I don't know when you wrote this song maybe you were a fan of my music back in the day and
I don't know I don't know what the fuck is going on with you fun but uh I like it I like it and
we might need to add the to grimy to your to your fucking uh twitter handle there okay like oh no
like because I don't know what's happening man no because that was listen
well bro yeah she came here and she told you that she she was showing you her boobs and saying
you're like bitch you might as well you might as well it told me she stripped down and was banging
a dude in the back row like it was it's the same thing right like she she almost flashed me
she could have almost done anything uh so I was unimpressed I was I'm banging this guy in the
back room for you yeah no um no rocky I wrote that song so long ago that was like I want to
say that was like 2012 because it was after me and my girl started dating we started dating in 2011
so it was probably like summer 2012 because my my band was touring around a lot in south florida
at the time um yeah it's what's funny is I I thought I lost this so when I when I got my
new computer I got you know started coming back to music I didn't know where this song was stored
um and you know I I I remembered it but I didn't remember all the lyrics I was like all right well
I'm not gonna break it out if I don't remember all the lyrics um so yeah yeah it's uh it was
definitely of a more grimy nature but like you know we already are out there broke musicians
like the least you could do is actually flash us you know not just almost right that is a fact
that's okay that is a fact I don't even think wifey would have minded no hell not
so that is I understand I get it bro I that was that was dope yeah um I my appreciation for you
grows more and more each day well and it's the whole story too right like this is the whole bit
I don't have any songs that I do that with where I like you know and I tell the story of how it got
written like I don't have nothing that I do that with but this song doesn't make a lot of sense
without the like story pretext like it's it's very it just would be confusing as to why I was
writing about this and so I was like oh it'd be the soul this whole story every time I play it
I'm just gonna this whole story and it changes a little right like I don't think I'd tell it
exactly it's time it's about it's like it's about the same uh go ahead AJ
that was beautiful just wanted to make a quick public service announcement
ladies if you're ever questioning if you should flash a guy the answer is always pretty much yes
like we're not going to shake like I've never seen a boob I didn't like and we don't have equal
rights if women can't also go to opposite public on that political uh issue you ladies all have
my full support my full six and a half inches of support seven inches of support on a good night
see that's why that's why ladies are now flashing everybody in public because we got
we can't behave us men ourselves a very bad job uh I'm sure if we were on our best behavior all
the time there there probably wouldn't even be a question about it but uh you know here we are
here we are just complete degens just just griming it out in the space uh Devin
naturally we end on uh we end on titties like come on yeah and I've never been flashed in
public only in private oh well that sucks to suck bro um Devin what's up
well that to me hey buddy uh to me that just sounds like like you wrote that song after you
started dating the woman you married right uh but to me that yeah to me that sounds like
well sorry sorry but the word yeah yeah yeah I got you I got you the woman the woman you love
the woman you love right you're with that one and you wrote that song after you met her to me that
sounds like a song that just preaches I'm so glad I wound up with this one and not that one
that was I almost could have last you girl like you know well so there's a line there's a line
in there too like especially because it was early in my relationship yeah so there's a line in the
chorus it's time to call you out and say you're just another passerby um you know yeah just just
keep walking you know if you didn't flash me you wasted your chance because that was that was your
opportunity um yeah yeah I almost could have done so many things I'm sure I sound like a trash human
but like uh yeah I love I love it I love this shit man do more of this see my girls down there
fucking laughing her ass off because she knows this story like she knows it all too well we're
gonna have standards bro you gotta have standards sorry that's correct um yeah anyway sorry mela
you want to hear what you know just passing it around to everybody but you you want to hear a
song real quick yeah I was just gonna say I think this uh this might be the last song and I'm just
I'm feeling very COVID like now so I think I'm gonna oh well then mela I'll play one out uh
real quick and this one's for you because even though you're down with COVID you're here so
this is uh you can count on me
hold on a second
there we go
I will catch you if you fall
I'd bail you out if you lost it all I'll always be there I'll show up and you'll see I can't be
everywhere but I'll always be right there when you need because you can count on me
yeah you can count on me because I've been there before I open that door I feel on that floor
couldn't take anymore you you can count on me
because I'll always stand tall by your side
I'll always come seek you wherever you may hide
you're never alone because my heart is your home so don't ever feel like you've got to go
through this life alone because you can count on me yeah you can count on me
when life is a mess when you fail the test put your head on my chest baby I'll do the
rest because you know you can count on me
you stop to help those broken people every day if you help once a day tomorrow
another one just might get saved it's a hug it's a drink it's as simple as stopping to think
you know there's so many ways you can live there see that you can count on me
yeah you can count on me because I've been there before I open that door I feel on that
floor couldn't take anymore you you can count on me
beautiful love you guys I love that that was such a great song thank you for playing us out with such
a great song and for hanging out with us that goes to everybody here thanks for hanging out
