Our gas fees are subsets and our general go to market is
metaverse and metaverse gaming and entertainment.

deployed or are deploying.
And I think like the community has been enjoying them quite a bit.
Our ecosystem is pretty large and growing day by day.

In terms of generally events, we are also slowly preparing for the main gaming party.
I think this one is going to be pretty fun because we'll have some of the new games,
some of the games that you already know, and some of the games that are deploying and you
probably don't know about them yet.

I probably shouldn't actually drop this alpha. So I'm
gonna skip some that like a very specific alpha that's coming. But a lot of exciting
stuff are coming probably late this week and during next week. A lot of community and ecosystem

you we often ask yes here like how did you end up in web 3 and what brought you
to actually Somnia or working with Somnia Network? So I was, so my background is in legal and then I went to, then I was mainly in tech
and tech startups for many, many years.
And I was mainly working in either kind of bridging ops, product and tech.
And at some point, like I really, really wanted to change my job.
So I kind of like started scrolling, looking for something. And then I just randomly saw
an ad to kind of like do ops for a DAO. And I was like, what the fuck is a DAO? That was
like five, six years ago. And you didn't couldn't really find a lot of information about DAOs at the time that actually
made sense. And I applied for a job, I got a job, so I just started working for DAO and that's how
I got into Web3 basically. And since then I was mainly in DAOs, governance, operations, legal compliance. Did you work for ApeCoinDAO too?

you started working with DAOs because ApeCoinDAO actually turned into ApeCo and it's not DAO anymore.

But Alexa, maybe I would love to go back two steps a little bit because you said you have
some experience with DAOs or like a more decentralized organization.
So how are you guys structured and what's the difference?
You know, because I know, for example, with Solana,
some people, there was always this kind of narrative
that it's too centralized.
So how did you approach this
or how are you approaching this
in terms of blockchain versus decentralized
and centralized organizations?
Yeah, so, I mean, currently we are very centralized, right?
But we are extremely early stage project.
A long term goal, long term vision is definitely decentralization.
I think like we'll be going like very slowly towards it.
Because generally, in order like to actually have the project functioning in a decentralized manner,
as a, let's say, some form of shape of DAOs, you have to be certain that there is community
in place that is actually going to continue managing and running the project as it should
be. And that the governance built, it's not really slowing down
the progress and whatever the project needs to do.
And I think like that's one of the biggest issues that
DAOs have been facing, that you either go extremely decentralized
and then it takes you, I don't know, weeks, sometimes even a month to make
a decision and a month or two weeks or even a week in Web3 is a very, very long time and
you really lose a lot.
People lose interest, communities not engaged because there is no progress.
On the other hand, if you're decentralized, then you're not really Web3.
So what's important is to find good balance there.
When it comes to Somnia, in general, as I mentioned,
our long-term vision is to have high level of decentralization
of when we mature a bit more as a project, then we'll start moving into that
progressive decentralization. How it's going to look at some point, that will again depend a lot
on the community and how much community is engaged in the project on a different basis.

Okay. And when speaking of community, so how, what's the community right now?
How does it look like?
What are the most exciting things maybe some of the community members are building
or what's happening in the Somnia ecosystem for those of the audience who are not
familiar with the projects, with some of the cool stuff, use cases, etc.
Well, I'm going to be very subjective here.
So I think we have a very cool community.
It's a very engaged community.
I mean, you see that on Twitter, you see that on Discord.
In terms of what people are building, of course, you have different personas within one community.
We've been nurturing a lot content creators, initially more like visual content creators,
and then later on with kind of like when InfoFi boomed, then a lot of, of course, like our
rappers.
We have really strong community there.
In terms of devs, we have strong community in Discord
and building on Telegram as well, a bit different targets.
But that one is also engaged.
There is different things there.
They're building, right?
It ranges from games, from DeFi.
It ranges from different tooling.
So it's a variety of everything, I would say. from DeFi, it ranges from different tooling.

And again, like we are very, very early stage.
We were in testnet from February 20th to September 2nd. And we are actually in two days celebrating a full month of Maynet
and we also have other plans when it comes to community growth,
community building and different activations that we'll have.
When it comes to the ecosystem, I think that's really, you know,
depending on the preference of the people and what they like to do.
We have like really cool apps. We have maybe less cool apps. We have really cool games.
The community is really much engaged with that. We are introducing a bit more on the sports side, which you mentioned earlier, the basketball.fun and have a few more things in the pipeline so I think like
what we're building is a variety of things for everyone's taste and people can just go and browse
and do what they like I remember when we hosted Paul some time ago before TGE here on the show
I remember he was mentioning quite a lot of focus on Web2 and gaming or Web2 gaming.
I would say, so how is this going and how do you approach actually Web2 maybe in general?
Well, when it comes to gaming, of course, like we love Web2 games,
but Web3 gaming is not our main target, to put it that way.
What we're really looking at are Web2 Games and Web2.2, Web 2.5 games, if that term is still used.
I'm a bit old, sorry guys.
That is generally our target. What we are looking to do, how we are looking to build Somnia,
is to really use the Web3 technology, but in a Web2 way.
Because it's the onboarding experience generally.
It's so freaking horrible, I think it has been,
and hopefully not for long more, is one of the hardest things to do in
Web3 especially when you're a newbie and you have no clue what to do.
So what we're positioning and what we're building currently is really how to make Web3 accessible
and provide that Web to experience on chain.
Yeah, and it's really cool to see that you can download games on Steam, right?
And you don't even know that it runs on blockchain.
And that's something I also enjoy with other sites these days, right?
Like, you can transact there, but you don't even know that it's happening. And also another great example was Chunked,
which is something like
Minecraft on blockchain and everything
or most of the things were
actually saved on chain, right? Even your
movement, etc. So
I think this is the way how
to do it in general in Web3
like make the tech invisible for the users
and just utilize the
blockchain and everything that it brings.
So I really enjoy this approach and I know there are like so many games and everything in the pipeline.

because I remember when ApeChain launched, which wasn't TGE because TGE happened some time ago,
but whenever you have a new chain, it brings like a new and different energy
and and new people new builders right some of them are great some of them are you know just
want to utilize the the new chain to make money right so how was this experience for you and
what would you recommend to people or you know to to to other people that maybe work on
on new chains uh on your position or any other positions that maybe work on new chains,
on your position or any other positions
that are involved in the community,

or how to approach it?
Because I believe it has to be absolutely madness, right?

claim, et cetera, et cetera.

when it comes in like building and really, like staying close to the community post TGE
is a very challenging thing. Because so many things are happening, so many things you're
managing, so many moving pieces, right. So like for the week of tg i think i slept maybe
like 12 hours in total i don't know like it's just so many things happening and um so many
dependencies as well and most important thing what i learned from there is that you don't really
lose that communication with the community and like even if shit hits the fan you just be honest about it and be
like you know shit happened and we're doing our best to fix it as soon as
possible I think that's really important element and it really builds trust
because what happens with many of the projects, right, when they TG, everyone is happy, you know,
shit is mooning and then just projects disappear,
teams disappear or go super silent.
And that is what really, I think, from my experience,
and not only Somnia, like from all the projects
that I've been with, is that if you're not transparent,
if you're not communicating,
and, you know, like, if you don't take responsibility
and accountability for not so good things that happen,
you really lose the trust
into something that you've been building for months.
It's like trust is very difficult to build, extremely easy to lose.
And I think what we did is that we really continued that communication.
Like we had several things when it comes to, I don't know, the airdrop and other stuff.
And some things were not working well, some crucial things.
But we were like,
okay, this is happening.
We're working on it.
We'll fix it.
We'll do what we need to do to make it right.
And we did that the best way we could.
Um, and I think that was a very important element in actually maintaining the
community post DG.
Of course, like it's web three, you have a bunch of bots,
you have a bunch of farmers,
many of them drop off, disappear after TG.
And that also, of course, like happened with us.
But we did kind of like analysis of the airdrop
and understand like, you know,
like the hit people just massively sell they
go back into the ecosystem and we actually got like a really really good results which made us
very happy to see um and on this court of course like we had a bunch of people
leave but what also happened is that we got a tighter community
and a more collaborative community
and a more responsive, more supportive.
And I think that was like a, for me,
that was like a huge win personally.
And I think it was also a great moment for the ecosystem
and the long term.

really important for the ecosystem, for the community and
the plan for the project overall to be able to maintain the
community in such a high number.
Yeah, it's really interesting to be part of this, to be honest, because you were one of the first projects that I actually started writing about on Kaito.

a discord we had a telegram we had a special like uh quests on the plot like it was insane i don't
know how many people actually work on that but i would say it's not common to see this, to see the support for the creators and people using the testnet.
It was really insane.
We're actually extremely small team.

I think at the time of TG, we were at 25 or so, kind of including the ecosystem engineering team.
So pretty small team, but yeah, it was a lot of work, a lot of dedication, a lot of love and passion for the project. So

i also would love to ask about kaito like how would you evaluate it for you guys because i
don't even know when it started i don't know what week we are on but
how did it work and did it meet your expectations or maybe even surpass it
um i think like the kaito was definitely beneficial for the ecosystem.
It's a great platform to get as a very, very early stage project.
I think we got in Kaito, I think it was like four months ago, five months ago, approximately.
I'm not sure, to be honest, about the date.
And through KITO, we got a very interesting community, very good community.
Of course, not everyone, but vast majority.
It also helped us understand Web3 ecosystem a lot.
Of course, like there was some downsides which, you know, are generally on the feed in terms
like the algo and how Kaito measures certain things.
Of course, like managing community expectations and really trying to accommodate as many people as possible has been pretty challenging to be honest
as you know that's not our attack you cannot impact much but then you do carry
certain responsibility for like bigger for smaller for male creators as well
so I would say that overall experience has been
pretty good uh definitely beneficial um and but not kind of like you know it wouldn't really earn
like a hundred percent uh perfection score yeah i think the point that you mentioned is right like
that you mentioned is, right, like,
you cannot influence much
the algo on Kaito, right?
So, I saw
some people saying, like,
how this content
works and this doesn't, right? Like, it's
not in your power to actually
change that, right? So,
that's
really interesting. But I think in general, it
kind of worked well because
it's really get rid of those AI crazy content.
I don't know how to even call that.
And people really started creating genuine content
about what they are doing,
like educational content, gaming content.
And I see that with the Wallchain
and with the Ape ape coin these days like uh
you need to people need to learn how how to write a content so uh other people enjoy it and if it
sucks like uh it's not gonna work on on any leaderboard so yeah i do agree with you kind of
uh because like that ai update was pretty fun.
Then like some AI profiles actually got on top of the Libre report.
I think that was pretty hilarious when they pushed that update until the fix.
I do agree with you that it kind of like removed that heavy AI content.
But what I also think it did, it kind of discriminated against people
who might not have a high level of English,
and they've been using AI tools
not necessarily to do all the content for them,
but rather help them do content.
Because the language barrier,
formulating the sentences and stuff like that.
I do agree that AI generic content should not be rewarded
in any shape and form.
However, on the other side, I think it really puts that language barrier back on
and that's the part I don't like. Because I know for a fact that in the
community, we have people who are extremely dedicated, extremely committed. They love the
project. They want to be included. And the language is a bit in an issue, right? So they use
AI tools to help communicate and translate. They do the same to create content and I don't think that they should be removed or like not rewarded for for
their work because they're using AI to simply communicate with people but on
the other hand like AI generic content is not good so I think it's kind of like
pros and cons to balance there.

because I'm also using AI sometimes to check the grammar,

out that the best way actually is to not check the grammar

incentivizing and strategizing their communities to empower them to get to the top of the leader
board, which is once we get to 69% of the ment out unlocks Macy number 1307, which is definitely

myself, but I'm just not qualified, right? That would be collusion, right? Well, this is a fun
competition. It embodies, again, the spirit of competition and camaraderie. It makes you feel

XYZ metadata? But that's what we want. We want you to
feel good and bad at about at the same time, but we want you to compete and have fun and the likes
thereof by competing in the digital competition. So I don't have any passes right now, but I am

so she so she can be in the running for now yeah so now here's the thing um alexa the the pass that
i'm going to send you is a digital card it's going to have a collections metadata on it i don't know

So regardless if you get in there and fight and figure out a strategy and get the aha moment and start burning and leveling up and minting more, regardless to you do that or not, as long as you have that pass in your wallet, whenever that digital competition ends, if that team is the winner of the digital competition team competition and you hold that then you are entered
into the raffle for whatever the prizes the applicable prizes at that time so hopefully
