yeah welcome back to another episode of tcd thursdays you know what i'm saying episode 14. We're going to be talking about the BFriends, Topps Chromes cards that's dropped, the new Pokemon set that just dropped, you know what I'm saying? All kinds of stuff today.

some cards gonna be set featured in why i mean in the white side some cards gonna be featured on the
black side so it's gonna be dope um to see i really can't wait to start for them to start dropping
like the artwork for some of these cards i want to see what we're going to be looking at um because
dude two it's going to be like they they said the full set is going to be 800 cards
and they've already talked about there's going to be pokeballs there's going to be master balls
there's going to be they're bringing back the horizontal um art i mean the horizontal hollow
pattern and a couple other things so it's just going to be lit um i am definitely looking forward
to uh this next set and it just happens to drop literally the day before my birthday.
So, you know, I got the pre-order.
I was able to snag the pre-order off Pokemon Center.
I actually got back in like three more times that day.
But every time I got kicked out,
because I kept trying to send it to like one of the homies' houses.
But every time I'd get to the pay thing, it'd kick me out.
And I'm just like damn bro like i just i just want to try to get some more so that
the homies can get some you're saying that was the whole point um but i did i was able to snag uh
my two i got one of each so i'm definitely happy about that um and then
um i but i haven't been able to hit nothing else on pokemon center it's just i've tried uh
but i have failed at hitting anything on pokemon. It just that shit is just hard
I've been able to hit like the ETVs on drop days and I think that's just because they have such a surplus and it really feels like there
It's gonna be almost like a print on demand. So however many they get pre-ordered
They're gonna print that many initially as well as a gang of extra
That's what that's what I'm seeing from this because i mean
it's what may the set comes out in two months so
yeah bro i haven't really hit on nothing at all but like i just i don't know bro i've just been
like really going to like i haven't what i've been doing is i haven't really been like trying to go get the big
boxes or nothing i've just been going to dollar general and cvs and things like that and just
getting tens because uh yeah that's what i'm saying bro i went to the cvs over on the west side and
they like they literally like i don't know why. Because, you know, these stores, they don't really know anything about Pokemon.
They just sell it.
But what they requested for restock was a bunch of Sword and Shield Sinnotins, bro.
So, like, the CVS.

And they had, like, I was like, are you guys going to run out?
Like, is this it? And they were like, oh, no, we have a bunch in the back. And I'm like, what?
Oh yeah. So I went there twice. I think all together, I think I grabbed like maybe
16 to 18, 10. So I went and grabbed some one day, then I grabbed some a different day.
And it was cool, bro. I mean, mean paying twelve dollars a ten i don't mind doing
that bro that's not too bad but it um and then i've also been going to dollar tree of course
because not dollar tree dollar general because they be selling the the blisters for like five
dollars each there but the price of everything is going up crazy like it's nuts. Yeah, I've also found Prismatic at Dollar General.
I found a Prismatic.
They had a whole Prismatic Mini 10 display.
And yes, I bought it all.
I did too, bro.
When I went out to the country, I think it was a couple weeks ago, close to a month ago,
I went out to the country to do my taxes, to go put my tax stuff in.
It was in April
and um literally at the junction where my tax people are at um there's a dollar general and
I was like all right I'm gonna go check it out and I go in there and they had prismatic tins
and I was like oh what it's a dollar general and I grabbed like two of them. But yeah, bro. And then I pulled...

Last time I went to Best Buy about two weekends ago, I found out that they were backdooring
because we came in, we waited outside.
It was kids waiting outside and stuff.

But we was waiting outside and then the store opened and we go inside and they didn't have anything set up.
And like, you know, I've worked retail. I know that they literally like they offload the trucks before the store opens.
And literally they had nothing out.
And then this Napoleon Dynamite looking dude walks up and he's got his chest
all poked out and i'm just looking at him like bro i'll put you on your head but he literally
had the nerve to be like oh and in front of all these kids bro because literally we were outside
all the adults we were like man even if we don't hit on nothing i hope these kids hit on something
because you got parents coming bringing their kids waiting out in the cold it was raining that day too
we waiting out there for 30 minutes.
This dude comes up.
He's like, oh, well, we haven't finished offloading the truck.
And we all looking at each other like, this dude is lying, bro.
And then he was like, oh yeah, come back around between two or four.
It's like, no, bro.
You just want everybody to come back after everything's gone.
And basically, they sent everybody out. And then I came back and
the dude, it was a new dude working. And he literally was just like, oh, yeah, we sold
everything this morning. As soon as the store opened, I was like, oh, wow, bro. So that dude,
I think as soon as we left, he probably just right before anybody could notice, he went and
they pulled everything out. And then they just checked out oh it was when um it was when the prismatic
yeah it was when the prismatic ep etbs first hit and then the the pouches as well what they do is
they what they do is they have they had they don't buy it they have their friends buy it because as
an employee you can't buy on the clock bingo your purchases are
tracked and you can't buy on the clock so what they do is they have their friends come in
and buy up the stuff that's why they sent all of y'all away talking about oh we have
offloaded nothing because they already had their friends that were probably about to come inside
yeah and if we were there as witnesses then it wouldn't look good
well it's not that.
Y'all would have been able to get stuff which would have cut into what their friends could have gotten.

I feel like, you know, the only thing is, like, I keep seeing these videos of everybody.

with your family and the young people in your family. So it's weird when adults, especially grown men, are cutting into an experience that children are supposed to enjoy.

And a lot of it has to do with like how the economy's fucked up and how hard

So then people want to make the quick buck instead of the,

Those are the big ones. If they get their hands on certain magic and then you go roll in a football basketball

The blaster box was 24 bucks and the hobby box. I want to say was like a hundred and thirty

People have the hobby box going for

That is pure scalpers.
That is not people who know anything about Gary Vee.
These are not people who know anything about the NFT.
They're not any people who are collectors.
These are pure scalpers.
And then this is the other part, right?
You have local car shops. So we always say support your local gaming stores, right? Support your local car stores. But how can you honestly go support your local car stores when you know that they got something at MSRP or under, you know what I'm saying? They got it for under MSRP, but they're charging two to three times market. How can I honestly go support you?
I can't, right? Because there's no way that I should go to my local card shop and see that
they have these hobby boxes at $400 and the blaster boxes at $100 when they were selling
at GameStop and online for $24.99 and I, I think it's like $139.99.
Like that's fucking outrageous. And there's no way that I can honestly support that. Right. That's
not cool. And then here's the kicker. Right. So let's say you didn't, right. Let's say you didn't
get these from distro. That means you went to several stores and bought up all their supply
to fuck your community that you say that you quote unquote are there for
because your community could have went out and bought these things at msrp but no you went and
bought all of the supply and then turn around and charge their market to say, look, I'm here for you.
I actually got the product.
But the whole time, you're the reason there was no product in the store in the first place.
Like, it's shit like that.
And I know some slimy motherfuckers.
They're actually pretty big here in the city and not just in the city like i know people in
web3 who follow these this this card store here and they are one of the biggest uh
like just just slimy because not only do they get distro, but they pay people and they pay their employees to go store to store and scalp up all the product and bring it back to their two locations here and sell it at market and over market.
And then, like, try to make it seem like they out here doing stuff for the people oh we're gonna

because there's a deep Pokemon world, like, on Twitter and stuff.
But, like, I'm seeing everybody complain about not hitting and things like that.
And then, like, they'll be complaining about the Pokemon Center Drops
or the Walmart or all this. And then they'll hit that same day. center drops or the walmart or all this and then
they'll hit that same day but it's the same thing every time they're like oh my god like
they'll be like oh my god my ip's messing up or oh my god i keep getting error this or this and
that blah blah blah and they're just like this is like like, forget this. Oh, and then they complain about scalpers and things like that.
But it's like people, even the people that are like on the, you know, I'm not knocking nobody who do this, but people be literally on Pokemon Center or on like, you know, Walmart or Target or anywhere where there's a drop on like freaking five devices at the same time to hit and then they want to complain about scalpers
and things like that like bro that's cool and all but at least at least just like you know
because there's really no difference there to me at least like you know there's people out there
like me that never hit bro and i And I'm not complaining about nothing.
I really don't care.
The only thing that I really didn't like was that Napoleon dynamite looking guy.
I wanted to put him on his neck, bro.
But I can't legally do that.
But it's just like taking away an experience from children, that's messed up.
But seeing people online complaining all the time about how they're not hitting about this and that, it's like, bro, there's people out there that never hit, bro.

a lot of people are not trying to collect like they're really just in it for the money and i mean it's understandable but i just don't like it when people complain bro that it's annoying bro like

It's like they're like, and it's cool.

everybody's going to be posting about it just because it's getting attention right whether
it's positive negative they're going to be posting hey i hit who else hit today who didn't hit or i
didn't hit today show me what y'all hit or you know it's going to be
constant posting about pokemon a lot of people are just doing it for the click it's literally
clickbait like a lot of people are doing it for clickbait because it's generating revenue for
their i know i don't respect that like i understand history behind like collecting
but as far as like farming and stuff i don't respect that type of stuff. It's weird. And there's people who are solely just doing it for that.
But those who are in the community, they know who's in it.
I mean, you could tell.
You just gravitate to the community.
I don't see a bunch of the nonsense just because I've tailored my algorithm.
My algorithm is for me
so like i'm a good content you know i'm saying so um but you know everything you know you got
to get the engagement try to get the engagement you know at the end of the ass what people are
trying to do is trying to get the engagement because you're trying to you know people are
trying to you know grow their brand right that's that's the biggest thing right people are trying to, you know, grow their brand, right? That's the biggest thing, right?
People are trying to grow their brand.
And some are doing it with genuine intention and some aren't.

shoot, Destin Rivals, Black Bolt, White Flame, all of these sets, the mega set that's going to be dropping whenever they announce the name for that, like when all these sets are dropping,
like people are going crazy, right? Like that's, and I preach, I'm like, don't overpay. Why?
Because the prices will fall. Also, don't go buy from scalpers why because these sets
will be in print for the next two to three years with them being in print for the next two to three
years and pokemon has already come out and said we know we shortage y'all on the first run of
everything don't worry we're gonna catch y'all on the back end and we're going to massively print everything because you got to figure when Prismatic and Surgeon Sparks came out, they were still printing sword and shield stuff.
Right. Crown Zenith was still being in print. So all of the older stuff was just still being in print because it hadn't extended. It hadn't passed its run yet. but this is the thing they they have now ceased printing on all
sword and shield era product which means from here on out everything they print will be from
the scarlet and violet era and they've already announced that the first two massive things that
will get reprints is surging sparks and prismatic evolutions there's no and it's it's
crazy because man i still have not played i have not been played by like you know i'm saying no
scalpers or nothing bro like the most i paid is probably like two dollars extra and that's going
to like game stop or you know i'm saying if like a store is charging a little extra but I do not
I'm never ever going to pay scalper price I'm never going to pay over you know what I'm saying
like actual store price bro yeah I'm never gonna do that because I'm not I'm not here to make money
like I just collect cards like if you want to start getting things for like you know saying
to have as an investment for your kids and stuff like that.
Cool. What you should be paying attention to is the sword and shield stuff.
That's the stuff that you should be trying to get your hands on.
You need to be going so like the Canto Power 10 that are coming out this Saturday at GameStop.
That's something that you should be interested in because it has sword and
shield era packs in it right you should be looking at 151 because 151 came out earlier which means
it's going to run up in that it's going to slow down on its printing here soon so those are things
you know i'm saying you go back to the original scarlet and violet
the obsidian flames twilight masquerade um temporal forces some of that older stuff
that's now dropping in value that's the stuff you should be looking at trying to procure
because that is going to be the stuff that is going to come up and not be in print anymore
so you want to get your hands on that stuff first right well ain't nobody paying attention to that
that's what you should go get your hands on right because the value of it is dropped which means you
can get your single cards for a steal right that's what makes sense, right? You can get the booster boxes.
You know what I'm saying?
You can get the ETBs.
You can get the booster bundles.
You get all the product right now.
Why ain't nobody paying attention to it?
For the low.
So that's what you should be looking at.
That's what I'd be doing, too.
That's why I go to Dollar General or I go to CVS
because those are areas that people are not looking.
Like a lot of people still don't.
But I still share the information with people,
but those are areas where people don't like look as much.
And like I said, like, you know, those stores, they are not,
they don't necessarily, like stores like that aren't necessarily looking
at what's popular.
They're just kind of picking stuff.
And so they randomly ordered all of those sword
and shield uh cinno tens and they had so many like they and i'm cool with the people with cvs now too
so like anytime i go in there they'd be looking out for me and stuff but it's just crazy because
like you said man there's there's gonna be a lot of stuff that's still you know i'm saying they're
still printing it and the older stuff is what you want to get your hands on just because it's going to be more rare and all that stuff.
But I don't know.
I just like ripping, bro.
I just enjoy ripping cars and stuff like that.
I don't mind buying Japanese because Japanese is usually one.
The artwork is fire.
How do you feel about Dark Phantasm or Phantasma?
Because I was going to get that one.
I just didn't get it yet.
I mean, I like the sets.
So the artwork is the same, essentially.
Sometimes the artwork is slightly different.
However, the QC with Japanese cards are a thousand times better.
Which is why they're valuable.
I like them because not everybody has them, bro.
And this is why.
They're actually slept on right now.
A lot of people don't buy Japanese because of that reason.
Their QC is so good, their value doesn't hold up.
Because, like, for the English, their QC is shit, right?
So it's a lot harder to get that 10 in English than it would be to get that 10 in Japanese
because the QC is so much better in Japanese.
So, more people will
tend to stay away from
Japanese, but I love collecting Japanese because
I like collecting the artwork, right?
And usually the Japanese have, like, some
dope hollow patterns sometimes and, you know,
some more cool shit. So, I like to check
them shits out, right? So, that's what I like to look
into. But...
Did you get glory because i was
gonna get that too i'm still waiting i need glory to touch 100 once glory touches 100 okay same that's
kind of where my head is at bro because it's like getting close this is like 120 130 yeah
